Ashton Frey is literally so autistic though like it’s got me making organized lists here let’s see

He’s carefully mastered the art of observation and reading people cuz he was so bored as a kid being forced to attend large social gatherings and he isolated himself and just studied the way people interacted with each other to figure out why they behaved the way they did. Despite this, he’s still really bad at understanding social cues (he is never able to tell when Rebecca is upset or what could’ve caused it, he can’t word anything properly, he talks in such a logical way that he comes off as uncaring and he doesn’t notice when it upsets people, etc) and generally doesn’t interact with most people

He’s very intelligent but hated school because the system was structured so horribly. He fell asleep in professor Andrew’s class frequently but once the professor found a way to appeal to his interests he became super committed and passionate

He’s horrible, just absolutely horrible with words and communication lol. He fumbles and stutters and says a lot of mean things on accident. He mostly communicates through his actions and it’s why he comes off as cruel and uncaring to those who don’t pick up on it and kind and considerate to those who do pick up on it (my favorite example is the difference between Rebecca and Isabella’s feelings towards him. Rebecca relies on Ashton to tell her how he feels and because he doesn’t communicate very good verbally, she assumes he doesn’t care about her when he in fact cares a great deal. Isabella on the other hand is able to get on his level a bit more, like understanding that even though he teased her about the letter he still took his day off to help her in the way he thought was best and he gave her ice cream and the charm because he cares, and she is able to see just how loving he really is)

Earning his trust isn’t easy but once you get it he WILL cling to you like crazy and shower you with memes and bad puns and do anything to make you happy

He gets a lot of attention for being hot but he’s usually oblivious to it or finds the attention annoying. He also tends to turn people off with his personality

He fixates so hard on what’s important to him that it’s detrimental to his physical and mental health and he shuts out everything else to pursue his interests

He categorizes his life into boxes and HATES when things slip out of their needed space. He finds himself lying a lot to the people important to him because he’s so desperate to keep them away from the other parts of his life. He is easily transformed by the people in his line of work and finds himself becoming like them. Also he’s kinda gullible in his job and doesn’t realize he’s been manipulated by his boss since day one cuz teehee cops are fucking assholes and he has a naive sense of justice and easily believes everything his boss tells him and it makes him the perfect pawn for some abuse (seriously i hate chief lee so fucking much god I hate him Ashton baby I’m sorry but you’re being manipulated and your boss is a monster and you need to get a better career dude)

He’s very insecure and scared of rejection and beats himself up for minor flaws. He also has trouble understanding his feelings and expressing them he tries to logic his way out of feeling and only cries when he’s hit absolute rock bottom and is like. Told that he needs to cry because he’s clearly not holding up well and only then is he able to

going to Kill myselffffff when i got injured i had to miss three days of work bc it was the weekend and my boss wasnt in a hurry to contact the doctor. so i had to apply for an loa. BUT i just learned today from my claim person that workers comp loa wont work because it wasnt an order from my doctor and it was less than 7 days. helmets are so hard to draw. stp fandom have some hero struggles.

Hero inspo ideas: i wanted to combine like a traditional knight, and vaguely norse warrior and greek hero. in the orginal idea of hero he was v greek aside from a helm that didnt really make sense so i wanted to change it

so his helm became more likw how people depict Hermes helm - which means i can hide his dumb ear tuffs under the helm. i hated trying to come up w a reason why they poked out so ima just hide them

his tunic and mantle were originally based on melinoe from Hades 2, again a vague greek reference - but i fely it wasnt working with the blue that he is APPARENTLY associated with (my tone is a joke i love my blue boy). and theres these design features in norse textiles both of these rope belts (theyre also in other cultures in the area) as well as these circular broaches that hook on either side the chest. i think they may be traditionally more feminine but its okay genders not real.

his mantle leans more into a high fantasy delicate knight armor

@itsonlypolite has such cool designs with the whole mask thing and i try really hard to come up w my own ideas but ur designs are soooooo- ur hero is just how hero is in my head and im like aaaaaaaa

alr so akechi is obv associated with crows and akira is pretty much associated with cats

akechi being intelligent, holding grudges is v crow coded and akira just being that typical derpy smug thief is black cat coded

but i feel like sometimes the opposite is also true?? akechi is kinda like a feral stray lmao, i can totally attribute the 'cats bringing its kills as a present' thing to akechi, and similarly akira bringing little trinkets and shiny gifts to people he likes is v crow behaviour.

lol the more i think about it, cats do kind of fit akechi. theyre both insanely conniving but stupid at the same time. crows can be playful, im pretty sure they exhibit surprising acts of playfulness in birds, smth that fits akira.

hii more manager thoughts but angst bc angst with hurt/comfort is my fav trope

- i totally agree that she has some kind of mommy or daddy issues and thats why she throws herself into academics

- the only time she really was applauded or was told “im proud of you” was probably when she did really well on a test/presentation

- i feel like maybe she has mommy issues but her dad was also super busy all the time so she kind of had to take cwre of everything

- she has an older sister who taught her most things but she totally felt super lost when her sister left for college and maybe she found stability through managing and thats why she started it

- she was probably mad at her dad for years bc she was really left to fend for herself and her little sisters, but they reconnected through basketball

- theyre closer than they used to be but i think manager does still rightfully so have grudges against him

- she’s always taking care of other ppl and she forgets to take care of herself SO OFTEN

- it really scares her at first bc she isnt used to it but when she finally gets taken care of it’s like a breath of fresh air

- if shes sick, injured, or upset the team immediately drops everything to see jf they can help and tell her its okay to let herself be taken care of

- i think bc she really was alone most of her life she is super shy and a little closed off when she first meets people

- the team is really her found family and they definitely pulled her out of her shell

- i think it took a LONGGG time before she really started to be herself but the team never stopped trying

- i think as much as she loves sports it does remind her of her parents and she sometimes hates it, so she drifted to art as an escape. she loves to draw and i can also see her playing piano, guitar and other instruments
