Forsaken as a revenge story fascinates me but not because of anything really related to the revenge story itself but rather the context surrounding it. like, "revenge is wrong" stories are everywhere and almost expected at this point, and Forsaken is no different, really. Forsaken says going on this path of revenge will turn you into a monster, but... we as the player don't really care? And why should we! Uldren killed one of our favorite characters! And every expansion before this has us killing something, so it's not really out of the ordinary.
This feeling is especially reinforced by how much Bungie tried making the young wolf a self insert during y1 (which REALLY did not last long). We, the player (if you played d1/y1 anyway) are angry at Uldren for killing off the most popular character at the time. It's PERSONAL now. And sure, the ending does feel like we're kicking someone who's already down (Ghost says it himself: Uldren's already done for), but we got the bad guy! The end, right?
Nope! Our actions have immediate consequences! Ghost is scared for us. We have to watch Petra struggle with the events of Forsaken while trying to lead a city of people stuck in a perpetual 3 week loop. Mara is obviously not happy with us (and we know we have to deal with lightbearer Uldren at some point). We may not feel bad about killing Uldren, but it doesn't feel great either. And unlike most past Destiny expansions, Uldren isn't an obligatory unequivocally evil big bad alien we need to shoot because this is an fps, he's... just some guy we barely knew anything about before now. Sure, he was a dick to us, but watching his descent into madness throughout the campaign is downright uncomfortable. All our past enemies, in comparison, have been rather straightforward: they're trying to kill us? well we gotta kill them first.
Forsaken also marks a MAJOR tonal shift. It literally kills off the comedy relief. Every release after Forsaken has a noticeably more serious tone (and while humor isn't completely absent (Saint, Crow, Fynch, and Nimbus have their moments) Forsaken's story is a particularly dark one, and it seems to carry over the rest of the year as we first start to consider the "line between light and dark"). It was definitely much more noticeable at the time of release, but Cayde's death has an impact not only on the characters but the tone of the story overall (he is the perfect example of characters continuing to haunt the narrative imo) and clues us in as the audience that shit is about to get Real.
and what happens the next year? We find a Pyramid ship.
this post is kinda all over the place but MAN not a day goes by that I don't think about Forsaken and how good it is as a self contained story and as an expansion that sets up a lot of the major players leading up to final shape! it's not really controversial to say that Forsaken is one of destiny's best expansions (story wise at least I'm not touching that power grind with a 10 foot pole) but I feel like a lot of that sentiment comes from the fact that it came out after curse of osiris/warmind which. no hate to either of them but anything that came out after them would look really good in comparison.
anyway uhhh forsaken good uldren did nothing wrong (JOKE I feel like I have to specify this is a joke people have taken this statement from me seriously before)
#destiny 2#destiny#destiny the game#uldren sov#destiny 2 forsaken#petra venj#welcome tooooo arctic rambles about forsaken and doesn't even say everything they want to about it#(another post is inevitable. sorry)

Mythology Fact #1 - Sobek, Egyptian Crocodile God
NEW SERIES! Mythology Facts will explore many elements of world mythologies, but with a particular focus on Greek, Egyptian, and Norse, especially at the start.
Easily the winner of the first poll about this new series as held on my Patreon is Sobek, the ancient Egyptian crocodile-headed god!
Head of a limestone statue of Sobek, as previously on display at the Met as part of a special collection; Met info on the statue head here
In ancient Egypt, like many ancient cultures, the most fearsome of beasts were highly regarded for their awe-inspiring endurance, power, and ferocity - a concept often little-understood today, as animals are now often seen as obstacles to be conquered or put out of the way, hence why it can occasionally be difficult to detail to the modern mind the relationship between men and wolves throughout history (but I'm not on that right now, so I'll stop). The people of ancient Egypt held great reverence for many animals, not least among them being the obviously very dangerous crocodile.
An integral part of life in ancient Egypt was the rise and fall of the Nile. Sobek was a centerpiece of the Nile life - crocodiles were abundant, a testament to their fertility and virility, and they were fearsome, strong, and enduring. Sobek's nature is intensely complex and his "domains," as we so often think of deities as having, were extensive, including but not limited to fertility, virility, illness, health, strength, pharonic power, military might, protection (especially protection from, essentially, bad luck), and the dangers and wonders of the Nile. By nature, he was considered animalistic, unpredictable, strong, protective but dangerous, and highly sexual, aspects frequently associated with the most powerful predators in a given region (notice all those things are also associated with wolves). Sobek was depicted variably as a crocodile and a crocodile-headed man, and holy crocodiles were kept in his name.
Given his association with the Nile and so many other things, Sobek was and mostly remained a very important figure, especially with his later fusion with/association with both Horus and Ra, two extremely important deities...
This is quite the lengthy post! More under the cut.
Among many other things, Sobek was said to have power of the fertility of the Nile's soil, as well as its waters, and thus also had great power over disease, as the Nile could also cause illnesses. Like so many ancient Egyptian deities, Sobek also had an association with the dead, being called upon to bring them sight and return their senses in the afterlife, as well as to assist in protecting them (along with many other deities, including but certainly not limited to Isis, Nephthys, and Anubis).
Sobek's strong association with fertility is found in his many epithets and even the name we use for him most - "Sobek" is thought to perhaps even come from a causative of "to impregnate" (though some scholars contend it instead means "to unite," especially in relation to the pieces of Osiris). Perhaps the first instance we have of Sobek in a text comes from the Pyramid Texts, in which a spell refers to Unis (the pharaoh) as a living incarnation of Sobek - the pharaohs were very often living incarnations of assorted deities at various times - and says that Unis "will copulate" very specifically and that he is the lord of something that would probably get this post censored, "who takes women from their husbands to the place Unis likes according to his heart's fancy."
Mummified crocodiles found in the Temple of Kom Ombo; we have found mummified crocodiles of all ages, even including fertilized eggs
Now let's talk about a thing called the petsuchos. Mummified crocodiles served as images of Sobek in various forms, one of which being Petsuchos, meaning "son of Sobek." It is thought one crocodile in particular took on the aspect of the petsuchos and was kept in Shedet, replaced by a new petsuchos whenever the previous died. Following the death of a holy crocodile, a great ritual took place to mummify the creature and then put it on display, as it remained ever sacred. Living crocodiles were sometimes kept in other temples and holy places, even including outdoor pools. They were adorned with gems and fed delicacies; some were even considered attractions, as feeding the holy crocodile brought good luck, given Sobek's apotropaic nature. There was even a divine crocodile breeding center established by Amenhotep III (who pushed the Sobek cult quite energetically).
There are many depictions of Sobek found throughout what we have of ancient Egypt, including many of its time periods. He is perhaps one of the oldest gods of ancient Egypt, having appeared as early as during the reign of King Narmer in the first dynasty. His importance during the Old Kingdom, as well, can be found in the Pyramid Texts. The entire region of Fayum was a cult center of Sobek, so great was his importance, the seat of which was - of course - the capital, Crocodilopolis or Shedet.
Also very worthy of note is Sobek-Ra, a combination of the gods Sobek and Ra, that appeared in very late-age Egypt in the New Kingdom (1150-1069 BC), and even continued into the Ptolemaic Period (around 332 BC to 390 AD). Sobek-Ra (or Sobek-Re if you want to go that way) may have first appeared during the reign of the first king of the Middle Kingdom, Montuhotep II, as addressed in the Coffin Texts used during the Middle Kingdom (in which Sobek is addressed as "he who rises in the east and sets in the west"). As a combination, depictions thereof often had the head of a falcon but the body of a crocodile, often wearing the solar disc and uraeus (cobra).
He combined aspects of both deities, which is also perhaps thanks to Sobek's association also with Horus. When Horus took on the aspect of a crocodile during his retrieval of Osiris's bodyparts, Sobek became associated with him, even considered an aspect of Horus. Likewise, however, Sobek also was said to have assisted Isis during Horus's birth. Such deity fusions, aspects, and deities becoming an aspect and/or appearing in various myths in nebulous forms were not uncommon in ancient Egypt, and Sobek was also combined with Horus at assorted other points. All of this continues to point to the association between Sobek and kings (pharaohs), especially when you reach the point of learning about Sobek of Shedet-Ra-Horus, but I won't go into all that here due to time constraints.
So, obviously, there's so much more to say that it's, frankly, crazy and almost overwhelming. The study of ancient Egypt is a complex undertaking, hence why we have an entire field called Egyptology. So, consider this very much a simplified overview. Hope you enjoyed the post!

I love how they’re expanding on the fact that osiris finding out saint was dead and seeing his body, and then seeing it over and over again, failing to save him the first time around was clearly pretty traumatic and great now I’m crying
Yeah. Yeah. I'm absolutely okay with this. (epic lie)
It's mostly because we've seen some stuff about this briefly before, but it's different when you actually get to hear him saying it. And saying it directly to Saint. Because until now, Osiris really did not want to burden Saint with this trauma.
Osiris should never have gone to see his dead body in the first place, but he did and then he had a bad time when he was searching for a way to save him because he kept seeing upsetting stuff over and over. Genuinely what the hell.
Stuff he told us directly was mostly like this:
I didn't think it was possible. I had given up. I spent lifetimes looking for Saint. A dozen of my echoes lost their minds before I retired them. Part of me wishes you were there to see it. To feel what I felt when I surrendered.
But then stuff I don't think he really told anyone, not even Sagira (tw: suicide):
*One Echo stays for years against Osiris’s orders. He has never lost control of one before; he didn’t think that was even possible. He and the Echoes are the same. He feels this aberrant copy lose his sense of self. Another few years in, he feels this Echo press the touch of cold metal to his head. * *And then he feels nothing. *
Like. Okay. Sure. He felt this. He felt everything each one of his echoes went through. He felt one of his, essentially, copies just lose itself and then kill itself.
It's one of the reasons he was so reluctant to go there again at the start of the mission. He did not want to see him dead again. It's such a huge trauma. It's also why he struggled to listen to Saint basically narrate his own death.
We're having completely fine and normal feelings about the events of the story in this video game.

Hello!!
I am requesting...... Eramis headcanons. Everything you have. Every single little thing.
ERAMIS TIME LETS GOOOO. She’s my fav D2 character so needless to say I’ve got a lot of hcs about her. Some of these are crossposted from previous hcs I wrote up 2 years ago, so if they seem familiar, that’s why!
-General stuff first: even tho scent is important to the Eliksni, openly sniffing someone and/or making a comment on their scent is a rank thing, because their pheromones can indicate their health and personal affairs, and kells were traditionally the oldest breeding individual of a family group. Only someone that is either higher-ranking or older than another can openly smell and comment on another Eliksni's scent, because it's generally considered that they are supposed to care for those below them. Eramis does this liberally. While it can be done in a mocking manner- and she does indeed do it in a mocking manner if she doesn’t like someone- it’s more just a means of checking in on someone while also reminding them of her age and status.
-I know this isn't canon but fuck it. She was naturally a sort of dark steely grey Eliksni to begin with, but age and stress have turned her carapace to an indigo blue over the years of the Long Drift. It's a rare epigenetic trigger and is pretty uncommon outside of House Devils and Winter (who were naturally just lighter/bluer), because she’s blue coded in my brain and the eliksni deserve to have funky colour morphs instead of just being like. Mauve. She also has eyes that are a more icey colour than pure cyan
-She has freckles!! More like mottling, really, but still pretty analogous to our freckles, because I love freckles and think it would be pretty on her. She also has a shitton of small white scars on her throat/chest from hatchlings clinging to her over the years, which was traditionally considered to be a mark of great wisdom and beauty in pre-Traveler Riisian society. Her carapace is like a more desaturated, purply version of this:
-Speaking of tradition, she's very classically beautiful among Eliksni, with a distinctly Dancer boxy, square headshape. While this was not what was favored in the Golden Age (rounder faceshapes, like seen in House Kings, were favored due to the Traveler's spherical beauty) it's still thought to be quite pretty, especially among Devils. She has mixed feelings about this, because she thinks that valuing beauty over an individual’s strengths is quite shallow, but has used it to her advantage in the past when trying to be charismatic
-The horns she had on Riis pre-Whirlwind were sharp and straight, with two long thicker ones pointing straight back and two smaller ones behind her cheekbones, along with the carapace ridges on her cheekbones having a bit of a point to them. Though all Riisborn Eliksni moulted away their horns to conserve nutrients in the Long Drift, she still has some shallow nubs of carapace that indicated where they were, unlike spaceborn Eliksni that never grew them in without the environmental cues necessary to start their development
-The wound that took out her right eyes was pretty drastic, as she took a dawnblade strike to the face from one of Osiris’s echoes at Twilight Gap. The only reason she survived is because she was not the primary target, so it only nicked her, but the wound melted through her flesh and carapace like a hot knife through butter, and gouged open her sinus cavity as well. To make matters worse, it also got infected after the necrotic tissue was cut away, so the scarring there is…pretty bad. She’s not bothered by the disfigurement, but she does keep it covered as much as possible to prevent people from realizing that she has a weak spot + keep as much shit out of her exposed nasal passage as possible. And also because the back parts of her eye sockets were protected well enough for electrodes to be implanted which connects to sensors in her helmet that buzz when something comes up on her right side, making up for her lack of vision
-Even so, she frequently cocks her head back and forth like a bird to make up for her inability to see on her right side. This is actually canon, but I like to imagine that it's more pronounced when she's calm and not around enemies. Her hearing on that side is much sharper to accommodate her lack of sight as well, so you're not going to sneak up or behind her that easily (as some unruly hatchlings learned the hard way)
-She's big compared to us, but not to other Eliksni of her social status. To them, she's actually pretty fuckin' tiny. Like, 5 foot levels of tiny. Her genetics were not kind to her. She’s also on the more slim side, all wirey muscle with very little fat: if Phylaks was a Titan and Kridis was a Warlock, then she'd be the Hunter of the trio. It caused her health problems in the past re: carrying clutches, but she’s stopped caring about it a long time ago
-She was orphaned at a young age, and part of why she and Athrys had many hatchlings was because they just kept adopting and caring for orphaned or high-intensity care hatchlings. Orphans on Riis were raised communally, with small countryside villages often comprised of 3-4 large families that worked together to share resources, so she had lots of experience helping out her elders with caring for more needy infants. When she and Athrys started their own family, they were the ones in their community who people would go to for advice with premature hatchlings or more sickly infants
-She actually used to know Variks on Riis; he was a teenager/young adult around the time that she was a child, and he used to let her dig through his notes on things she was interested in whenever he visited the Dancers on official scribe business. That she grew into who she was today is something that he bitterly regrets, while his betrayal/perceived weakness is something that she deeply hates him for. He was almost like an older brother or cousin figure to her, so the schism between them is…really personal
-We'd probably place her on the butch scale of things in our society, but among the eliksni side of things she's actually high femme. The thing is that, well...eliksni genders are not really much like ours at all, so that's somewhat arbitrary to her, doubly so because she doesn’t identify entirely as female (canonical she/they Eramis my beloved). I just thought it would be a fun thing to fiddle around with via an intersection of human and eliksni cultures
-Her gender is 'she but in the way you refer to a ship, not a woman'. The Eliksni version of femininity is something that she just kinda accidentally phases into, not something that she actually cares about much. Gender is more of a 'yeah sure whatever' than a 'this is me and you better fucking respect it' thing
-She's one of the very few Eliksni that Taniks trusts and respects. This is because she's one of the very few Eliksni who know that trying to put a leash on Taniks is like trying to tie a silk thread over the jaws of a rabid hyena, so she just lets him do what he wants...as long as it is relatively within reason. She also doesn't try to pull rank over him, or snap at him for disrespect, though she won't let him push her around, as Taniks is wont to do. Other Eliksni think that she's absolutely fucking insane for this
-Athrys was her heartmate, and she’s still not over her. While the company of other Eliksni can come close, and many Eliksni aren’t particularly known for being monogamous, Athrys was different in that the trauma of the Whirlwind and losing their hatchlings along with her just. Turned Eramis completely away from the concept of officially taking another mate. She had a little almost-polycule going on with Phylaks and Kridis, but anytime it started to get more serious, she’d freeze up. It’s not that anyone is trying to replace Athrys; heartmates are kind of like soulmates in Eliksni culture, with the exception that they’re not limited to romance like human culture is, so everyone knew how close they were. It’s more that if she settles into the routine of having a partner again instead of something closer to fwb roommates, she’ll start having flashbacks to the last time she had a mate, and it triggers a depressive episode. To make things worse, Phylaks and Kridis befriended her when they were teenagers on Riis, so her attachment to them is also linked to Athrys (who used to affectionately call them all a band of hooligans)
-Phylaks wanted to have hatchlings with her at one point. The conversation about that…did not go well. Eramis still has those mother instincts going strong, and to be a good Kell among the eliksni used to mean being like a parent to everyone under you (at least, before the Whirlwind), but Eramis cannot think about what it might mean to have more hatchlings of her own without losing it
-Also tying into her gender fuckery, her pining for Athrys, and her thing with Taniks is the fact that they used to be heatmates; I hc Taniks as being the Eliksni variant of bigender, which he only ever felt comfortable revealing to Eramis, while Eramis wanted someone who was the exact opposite of Athrys to share her heats with specifically so that she wouldn’t turn into an emotional mess during it…and Taniks is about as far from Athrys as you can get. It’s kind of a crack headcanon with my friends that this is how Eido came about, lmfao. Though in my iteration, Eramis has zero idea that Eido is her kid, because Taniks was in denial about being gravid until he actually laid the eggs (reminder, in my hcs Eliksni males carry the fertilized eggs in a specialized broodpouch, much like seahorses do), and then he panicked and stuffed them into the vents of a ship he was working on so he wouldn’t have to deal with them later
-She fucking loves citrus- specifically, tangerines and oranges. Its the one thing she actually enjoys among Earth foods, and no, it's not because she's a space pirate. Eliksni don't get scurvy. She just really really likes the taste of them. She is also particularly fond of seafood and organ meats, and though she used to complain endlessly that prey from Sol tasted nothing like that of prey from Riis, you’d be hard-pressed to hear her complain about anything regarding food post-Prison of Elders
-Out of their clutches, almost all were carried by Athrys, because Eramis has issues with carrying clutches to completion. Eliksni can change sex pretty easily, and initially same-sex couples will oftentimes alternate during breeding seasons if they dont find a surrogate, but a mixture of Eramis being small and narrow-waisted meant that her broodpouch never would develop to full capacity when she'd go through a sex-change molt. It's something that she still bears a lot of trauma about, though she hasn't thought about since the Long Drift.
-Lost her lower legs in a ship crash, but that doesn’t impact her mobility much. She’s just as capable of running on all four arms as she would on all sixes if her prosthetics are absent or compromised. It’s not dignified in the slightest, but then again, dignity is something that she gave up on when she got locked into survival mode during the Whirlwind
-Her breathing has a slight snuffly, wheezy sound as a result of the damage to her snout and sinuses, but it's very subtle and doesn't impact her quality of life. It just pisses her off if you comment on it. She also got minor cases of Eliksni pneumonia on Europa after a bad cough that went around in the Prison of Elders got to her as well, so she’s hyperaware and afraid of getting chronic respiratory infections and WILL snap at you if you mention it. There's a reason why her suit covers her spiracles as well as her mouth
-Can cook a handful of generic dishes extremely well and the rest either passable or poorly. This is entirely due to the fact that she used to take cooking and teaching duty for her hatchlings on Riis while Arthys worked, so she memorized a set number of recipes everyone agreed upon and nothing more. She’s hyperaware of the fact that she’s not a cook, but don’t let her into the kitchen regardless she'll hover around and scold you like a middle eastern grandma if she thinks you're not cooking to her standards
-Not very talented on the creative side of things, but absolutely wicked with machines. She can hotwire practically anything in the Sol system in under a minute. The tips of her hands are covered in scars from electrical burns; she and Arthys used to joke that she traded her impulse control for her ability to break apart and rewire any piece of tech she gets her claws on
-She was a strict mother to her and Arthys’s hatchlings, but she was also the quickest to turn her eyes away if they were being mischievous/pulling pranks; that, or she’d join in and make their shenanigans even worse. She imposed and kept rules to keep them safe, but respected their desire to push back against the more arbitrary ones, because she used to be the same way. She’d be tougher with hatchlings she didn’t know, but not in a harsh way, just in a ‘I won’t risk your harm’ sort of way. And if her own kids didn’t play nice with the others, she’d be sure to give them a scolding: her entire shtick is very mamma lion coded, ngl, and that’s a good chunk of why she couldn’t stop herself from caring for Eido during Plunder. She’s essentially been locked into the ‘angry lioness just saw someone kill her cubs right in front of her and now she’s on the warpath’ mode for centuries, and even though she’s tried to snap out of it so as to not seem weak, she hasn’t had much luck
-The name 'Eramis' roughly translates to 'raging storm' in old Eliksni. Anyone who has met her would agree that it's quite an apt description of her
-She's also fond of being squashed while sleeping or cuddling. You'd never expect it, but Eramis, Kell of Darkness is a little spoon. Or, rather, the bottom pancake of the stack. This has waned in favor of her sleeping in front of her loved ones as a guard post-Whirlwind, but despite all her pride about being short, she really does love being compressed, be it by a brood of hatchlings draping over her or her harem curling around her. A weighted blanket would probably absolutely blow her mind
-She doesn’t actually hate humans, though she doesn’t exactly like us either. Eramis is very politically savvy, and she’s very, very good at appealing to the ranks of Eliksni who despise humanity. She hates Guardians and the Vanguard, but she hates the abstraction of their forces and what we represent than humanity as a species
-The Darkness acted like a parasite to her on Europa, and she was its intermediary host (we were its final target). Almost all of her behavior during Beyond Light was the result of centuries of constantly being stuck in fight-or-flight mode paired with the trauma of the Prison of Elders and the euphoria of finally having some measure of power over her own life again being amplified to a dangerous, irrational level by the Witness in order to draw us in to accept its ‘gift’ of Stasis. Being betrayed helped her to snap out of it and come to the realization that she was being used, which is what nuked her anger and had her spiraling into the depression that she’s canonically in right now. She’s burned out the last of her anger, made quicker by the Witness’s torture, and now she’s hollowed out and so, so tired of all the injustices that the universe has to offer her

Thanks for having me, I think I'm a regular customer here now.
Yandere Seth x reader.
This came to me after watching Saint Seiya if you know me.
Notice: fem Reader, a young woman who is fascinated by stories of any mythology. Spend time listening to or reading myths. One day there is an Egyptian myth that tells a sad story about how Seth, god of war and the desert, falls in love with the eldest daughter of Osiris, the goddess of dawn. She was his second marriage, however for some reason she was murdered and Seth was left alone, condemned to wait for her for eternity. The reader loved this story and it made her sad. Some time later he goes to an Egyptology museum and the area of the Egyptian gods. Each one seems strangely familiar to him just as they are: Isis, Osiris, Anubis, Nephthys, Horus. When she sees the figure or images of Seth, she feels an inexplicable feeling of great affection, which almost makes her touch a wall with the image of Seth. She ignores all that and continues walking around the place. Then, for some reason, she feels watched. What will Seth do after finally finding his love?
Context: She is the reincarnation of Seth's wife.Extra detail: she doesn't remember anything about her past life (obviously hehe) and refuses to believe Seth, even wanting to escape, if you describe their encounter.
(Sorry for putting a lot of text, I think it's to give you more details and give you an idea, but if you want to add more things that come to mind, that's fine)Once again I thank you for serving me again.
Oooooh interesting! And you’re fine 😁
Warning: noob author, female reader, yandere romantic characters, and others.
Character: Seth.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You’re a female that is mythologist that specializes in Egypt mythology along with other myths but you have more interest in Egypt’s myth as you feel a strange familiarity with it like you’ve been through it before even though you weren’t even born at the time of when gods were more out and about.
You recently found something about the god of war and another goddess; goddess of dawn to be specific, who married each other after Nephthys and Seth broken up, apparently this goddess was the daughter of Isis and Osiris, and was eldsest of their kids, the goddess and Seth both fell in love and married but a tragedy happened and the goddess died, so the god of war waited for eternity for death to reunite with his love.
You also found this strangely familiar and sad which made you go into a deep dive into finding out more about the two but there wasn’t much for some reason even the name of the goddess isn’t anywhere to be found though probably isn’t a surprise as this is all back in ancient Egypt so some things could’ve been lost, stolen, or destroyed but you’re glad that you found this as you can look for it on your trip to a Egypt museum that you had planned for some time now so hopefully you can find at least something mentioning it there.
The time for you to go on that trip to the Egypt museum has finally come once you had everything you needed and wanted to bring with you so now you’re off to your destination, not noticing the look your driver was giving you as you were to busy looking out the window and looking at your phone time to time.
You have arrived to the hotel you’ll be staying and had everything delivered to your room you’d be staying in before deciding to just walk to the museum with the things you have in your bag.
You met up with the curator of the museum who was a young man about around your age who has red hair and red eyes, you were surprised that a man around your age would be a museum curator but you didn’t judge, you felt attracted to him and somehow get the feeling he’s someone you used to know but you knew you would’ve remembered someone with that red hair and those red eyes, you decided to ignore the feeling anyway as it could’ve been from seeing him on tv or something like that.
The young man left you alone after a few words and so you were off to the mythology section of the Egyptian museum. You encountered a wall depicting Osiris, Isis, Nephthys, Seth, the mysterious goddess of dawn, Horus, and Anubis. You stopped at where Seth is before gaining the feeling of wanting to put your hand on his part of the wall but decided against as you remembered that some museums if not all doesn’t allow people to touch the artifacts.
You started to get the feeling of being watched so you decided to move on to more of the sights in the museum, what you didn’t notice is that the curator had followed you and was hoping for you to touch the wall depicting Seth as that would’ve let you gain the past memories of your past life. Seth, who was previously disguised as your driver and is now disguised as the museum’s curator was opening to have you touch the wall depicting him and the others so you could have your past memories but now needs to find another way to do that as you decided to not do it in the end. Now that he has you he won’t let you go even if you now don’t feel the same and try to escape, he won’t let you not again, after all this time you won’t get murdered by your jealous father again cause he and the others are now dead because of him.
(A/n: hope you like it and what I decided to add in!! 😁 I had fun making this plus while writing this all I thought about was the movie ‘night at the museum’ lol 😂, anyway hope y’all have a wonderful day/evening/night!!)
A Cautionary Tale: Saint-14's Blunder
"Some still speak of the day, in hushed tones in the shadows corners of the tower, that Saint-14 fucked up.
The guardians know better than to speak the words too loudly for the great warlock Osiris is able to be anywhere and everywhere at once, but they have to warn the new lights of this cautionary tale.
You see Saint-14 and Osiris have faced unspeakable odds and still come back to each other with their bond stronger than ever. Their story is one of love conquering even time itself. So what could break such a perfect couple? What could bring the greatest love of the ages to a shaky edge?
It was not the hive, fallen, nor even the terrible vex. No my sweet blueberries, It was a bird.
Don't laugh, it's not a joke. Look to your elders and see their expressions little lights. Birds are no laughing matter in the tower. You have seen Saint's flock of pigeons, haven't you? Heard the tender way he calls Osiris his phoenix?
But this bird was neither of these. No, this bird was a Crow. A scrappy little Crow with a broken wing that Osiris found lost and abandoned by its flock. He was very protective of his little Crow. So protective that when Saint upset the little bird, even by accident, Osiris fell into a fit of rage even at his most trusted partner.
He yelled so loud you could hear it on the other side of the city. He snarled and hissed like a mother cat protecting her kits- honestly if you were there it was kinda sweet but you didn't hear that from me- anyway! The point was, Saint-14 was brought to his knees, pleading for forgiveness and repenting his mistake.
What? What did he do? I told you, he made Crow sad. Oh, how? Well Crow had this frankly stupid haircut and Crow overheard Saint joking about it to Geppetto. Oh, no I didn't mean an actual bird. I was being dramatic. Saint-14 and Osiris adopted the Vanguard Crow ages ago back when he was all sad and broody. Anyway, the lesson to be learned here kids, is to never insult Crow where Osiris can find out and he will find out no matter where you are. You should never-"
Osiris crossed his arms raising an eyebrow at the ghost bobbing on a plain tower shell surrounded by new lights and when one of the young hunters turned and yelped it caused the group to scatter like cats from a cucumber.
"Sagira, you can't keep doing this or none of the new lights will ever look at me without jumping." He tsked at her and she giggled as she moved to hover over his shoulder.
"Don't lie, you love watching them cower. Plus, it's funny to see how they all look at Crow after. He has no idea why he has an army of tiny guardian ducklings trailing him." She said dawning her usual shell with a flash of light now she wasn't trying to secretly spread rumors through the tower.
"At least you stopped telling them all I was in my boxers when I yelled at Saint. They really don't need to know those sort of things." He sighed as they headed toward the hanger.
"It was hilarious! You telling off Saint for making fun of Crow's terrible haircut while wearing nothing but your boxers and slippers and sleep robe! I can't believe Crow was brave enough to wake you up to make sad eyes at you over Saint mocking him. This is why he's my favorite." She chirped and Osiris rolled his eyes.
"I thought he was your favorite because he and Glint saved you from the traveler and helped you regain your memories so we could be reunited?" He hummed and she bobbed.
"You can have more than one reason for someone to be your favorite Osiris. After all, I'm sure there's many reasons I'm your favorite." She teased and Osiris frowned.
"When did I say you're my favorite? Did I not tell you of my close bond to the pooka I adopted?" He asked and grinned as she started ranting about how much better she was than some over-empathetic flying fish.
Saw a post about shows adapting when cost/scheduling reasons prevent a guest actor from returning, and it made me think about Destiny narrative limitations especially since without insider info it seems some characters like Orisis (Oded Fehr) and Crow (Brandon O'Neill) are easier to get than others (like Nathan Fillion infamously so). Especially when considering things like voice actor line budget and how Episode Echoes seems to have less chatter than previous seasons during the seasonal activities.
So there’s a number of “how the sausage gets made” reasons aside from reissuing season of the Dawn weapons that Saint and Osiris got the Vanguard ally storyline, though I thought it was the weakest part because it retrod thematic ground that has been touched on before (the game wasn’t going to break up the one onscreen happy couple).
If money wasn’t a concern (nor voice actor scheduling) I think it would have been a really interesting season to see Ana Bray, Elsie Bray, and finally see Camrin Dumuzi (Ana’s girlfriend) onscreen replacing Osiris and Saint for the vanguard ally storyline. Things line up well enough that Lakshmi’s storyline wouldn’t have changed much. Elsie fits into both the traveled through multiple timelines/realities storyline as well as is an Exo who could be affected by The Conductor. Ana has experience with AI and it would be great to see her interact with Failsafe especially since she’s been at loose ends since Resputin was killed off. Also if the devs wanted to address alternate versions of yourself doing monstrous things there is that version of her that fell to Darkness in The Dark Future. Finally for the romantic parallels between Maya/Chioma and a happy couple that isn’t putting their wife through the Torment Nexus, it would have been great to see Camrin onscreen since there hasn’t been an onscreen f/f couple. (Feel like I need to clarify there have been onscreen sapphic characters but their partners are dead/missing/lore appearing only). Also bringing in Ana and Elsiewould have tied into Conductor!Maya’s end of season remarks about Clovis’ Bray’s hubris and her remarks about a new golden age really well. Last reason but not least I would have loved to see a reference back to the version of Maya from Clovis’ logbook that stopped his medical procedure to flay him alive with these words:
““Something like this happened to me. I was an explorer, once. One of… hundreds of myself. Then I fell into a… a trap, I think? And they drew me out of it with a hook, and turned me inside out to see how I worked, and then they made billions of me. All of us shouting at each other, shouting for Chioma, screaming for mother. They were looking for the right one. And when they found me, they killed all the others. I knew I was different, because the quiet made me happy. I was glad to be alone.””
Because what a difference “I was glad to be alone” is from the Conductor version of Maya Sundaresh.
OOC | The Twelve Conquered Kingdoms & the Formal Style of the Emperor
antilla -- HOUSE OF RODERICK'S STEPMAMA, im sort of picturing a spain/portugal mashup || taken from a medieval iberian legend abt a mystical land founded by some visigothic bishop (antillia)
vinetta – think lithuania, latvia, poland, germany, etc || a mythical city at the edge of the baltic sea (vineta)
kvenheim – i was sort of envisioning norse scandinavia || the icy otherworld which the forst giants rule meets a mysterious lost island from medieval and norse legend (kvenland + jotunheim)
kolchis -- HOME OF HOUSE CALAINON, think medieval byzantium/greece || taken from greek mythology, the homeland of medea, the golden fleece, and the cholchean dragon (cholchis)
malakarta – the sun-soaked deserts of the middle east || an invisible realm meets the toll house located between the realm of light and the earth (malakut + matarta)
aarnu -- think egypt: a fertile river running through vast deserts || also known as the field of reeds, the sacred paradise ruled by osiris (aaru)
argadara – a whole country of vast mountains in the fantasy!himalayas || a legendary land located at the core of the earth meets a sacred mountain in the puranas (agartha + mount mandara)
xangadu – the most hospitable part of china basically -- their governing body was called a blogring ;D jk jk no but fr s/o to xanga rip || the mythologized summer capitol of kublai khan, used to represent opulence and splendor (xangdu/xanadu)
aotepo -- sort of pictured a chain of tropical islands! which is also interesting bc i feel like roderick's navy is kinda. ehhh so they def got a work out w this one! def think this was one of the more recent conquests too! || the polynesian realm of light meets its realm of darkness and the ancestors (ao + te po)
alytar – HOME OF HOUSE VASILIEVA, think medieval russia || taken from slavic myth where it is the navel of the earth, a rocky and sacred place, marked w ancient runes and endowed with healing powers (alatyr)
affaraon -- tis scotland ;D and, as such, i was thinking this was possibly a neighbor to astaira? || also known as the immortal land and the 'city of higher powers,' and the 'ambrosial city,' it is the legendary home of a sect of druids dedicated to metallugry and alchemy and is said to be located somewhere in scotland (dinas affaraon/ffaraon)
astaira -- HOME OF HOUSE STAFFORD, &c.
you will note that the og varmont nation is not included on this list, and that is purely bc he did not conquer it but, rather, inherited it. also, except for kolchis and astaira, ofc, these are all place holder names but [ i stole most of them from world mythologlies ] and sort of jostled them about a bit: for exmaple, xanadu aka xangdu is now XANGAdu for reasons ;DDD
Warhammer 42K: The Age of Reclamation
So, I have been working on a Warhammer 40K alternate timeline (and have been for a little bit) that incorporates my fanon Lost Primarchs and their Legions. AND IT'S FINALLY DONE. ISH. Well, the sandbox is ready for play, at least.
The return of the Lost Second Primarch, Ailani and her Second Legion, the "Imperial Hospitallers", in the waning days of M41 was accompanied by a shriek of psychic jubilation across Human Psykers throughout the galaxy. "The Time of Ending is challenged!", they cried and laughed, "The game begins anew!"
This was followed in the 42nd Millennium with a further psychic event, in which Psykers and Adeptas Sororitas both were overcome by a vision of unparalleled glory: "They have been reclaimed! The Age of Reclamation is imminent!" it was pronounced.
To the great confusion and interest of nearly all galactic powers, loyalist versions of the Traitor Primarchs and their respective Legions, iterations that represent the "Best Possible Version" of each, utterly lacking in the flaws that led the originals to Chaos during the Horus Heresy, subsequently appeared, engaged in battle against the enemies of Mankind. Over a scant 3 decades, they have been reintegrated into the Empire, though not without suspicion.
The presence of these "Reclaimed" Primarchs and Legions promises to move history in a VERY different direction as new versions of those who once fought to destroy the Imperium now rise to become its greatest champions. However, the threat presented by the Chaos Primarchs is not ended: the original Traitors still persist, unchanged, and most assuredly will not take kindly to the news of their uncorrupted and incorruptible doppelgangers.
Each of the Reclaimed Primarchs maintains a memory of what their original selves did up until the end of the Horus Heresy, but, rather than a lived memory, their knowledge and experiences are more like a bad dream they have just woken up from, and it is only as they open their eyes once more and look out at the state of the Galaxy do they realize the horror and the shame of what their original selves had done. None of the Reclaimed felt the guilt more keenly than Horus and Lorgar, who looked at the state of mankind and the Galaxy and wrestled intensely with the knowledge that it is largely their handiwork from another life.
Horus perhaps felt the need to do better most keenly. Casting aside his old name, he embraced the name "Osiris", and soon came to believe he had risen from the dead to embrace his true destiny of redemption. The Sons of Horus restored their name to the Luna Wolves, and reported for duty, embracing the Crusade to come, ready to burn their path to forgiveness and absolution across the stars, even as they were divided up into Codex Compliant Chapters by their Primarch — all the better to never to be in a position to threaten mankind ever again. But though the Luna Wolves now consist of many packs, they know how to assemble and fight as one, if needed, and the day may come sooner than they think whence such a reunion is needed.
Refusing all offers of a position of leadership out of shame, Osiris has sent himself into a grueling never ending Crusade of redemption, pushing himself to his limits to, in some way, atone for sins that are not even fully his. He does not shoulder this burden alone, and his Marines follow him on his endless quest, hoping to one day right the scales, and wipe the name of the Horus Heresy from memory and relevance, determined to atone for the Heresy, even if the quest might devour him wholly in the end. If it takes their very lives to wash away the stain of the Heresy, then they will give them freely. In the end, their aim is to ensure that the name "Horus" becomes a relic of history, supplanted by "Osiris," a symbol of redemption achieved through sacrifice and undying loyalty to the Imperium.
Lorgar has taken it upon himself to seize control of the Ecclesiarchy, and now seeks to undo the cultural damage his prior work, both as Loyalist and Traitor, had done to the Imperium. Adopting the name "Gregorium", he works tirelessly, to say nothing of working carefully yet diligently, seeking to unravel the Gordian Knot of tyranny, paranoia, and repression the Lectitio Divinatus unleashed. The Word Bearers became known as the Truthbringers, which maintained close ties with its successor chapters. All Space Marine Chapters of Truthbringer stock serve effortlessly alongside the Sisters of Battle, each side galvanized by the other's zeal and commitment to the Imperial Truth, even as High Father Gregorium steadily tries to reform and redefine that Truth to become ever closer to the Emperor's original vision.
Unfortunately, such is the ten thousand year rut that the Imperium has existed within that many prefer the backwards beliefs and the regime that is beyond even the concept of cruelty. They refuse to leave the dark hovel that has been the Imperium of Man for generations upon generations, for to risk anything else is to lose all they, and anyone who has ever lived, have ever known. And so Gregorium must move much slower than his sense of duty impels him. Ironically, this has rendered the Truthbringers’ original methods from the Great Crusade more useful than ever: no mere transhuman butchers, but builders of cities and societies, preachers of good news and pious goodness. That which originally vexed the Emperor of Mankind now serves the original plan, and Gregorium is a patient man. Whether it takes ten years or ten thousand, his soul burns bright with the sense of purpose he had always desired; he will work until the work is done, however long it takes.
Magnus assumed command of the Adeptus Astra Telepathica, and began working to improve the lot of Psykers around the Imperium. He makes his immense knowledge of the Warp and the threats therein a weapon, one that is wielded by many a branch of the Emperor's Imperium of Man to terrific effect. The Reclaimed Thousand Sons take up the name of "Warpwatchers" and they and their new successors devote themselves wholly to eradicating demonic threats, wherever they may be found. Magnus does not change his name because he, famously, did nothing wrong. He does, however, adopt the title "The Just" to distinguish himself from "The Red".
Unfortunately, while Warpwatchers and their Successors who undergo the Rubicon Primaris or are born as Primaris Marines in the first place see moderately to significantly reduced rates of mutation, their gene seed remains flawed to the point of gradual but inevitable non-viability, forcing these Marines to rely upon their Father and a host of Tech Magi trained in the art of Gene Seed crafting by Belisarius Cawl himself, to provide regular donations of freshly cultured gene seed, lest the Legion and its many sons be eventually swallowed up forever by the insidious twisting of their flesh. Magnus the Just has given some consideration to the thought of taking his Father’s place on the Golden Throne as he now believes the plan had been for his original self, but has so far been dissuaded by Guilliman – there is no guarantee even the Emperor might eventually recover from such decay as his body has undergone thus far; he may simply die if removed from the Throne. Or, as the Cawl Inferior has theorized, the worst case may be that the Emperor DOES recover, but what emerges from the Throne Room may not be what went in 10,000 years ago.
Magnus has spent many hours trying to reach his father’s psyche, beseeching him to tell him what to do, and how best to apply his gifts. So far, he has gone without an answer, and perhaps that is best for his very soul. Whether this absence of communication is due to the Emperor's fading state or some deeper purpose remains unknown. Perhaps the lack of an answer is a trial for Magnus, a test of his patience and judgment, meant to force him to chart his own path and prove the worth of his gifts on his terms. For now, Magnus holds his course, his dedication unshaken, trusting that the path of righteousness and redemption will eventually reveal itself in full.
Pertuabo stepped, perhaps a bit too effortlessly, into the shoes of the MIA Rogal Dorn as Master of the Defense of the Imperium. Adopting the name "Aegis", he collaborates with Roboute Guilliman in overhauling the defensive lines of the Imperium of Man. Though Aegis is a much improved man compared to the original Pertuabo, he still takes a well earned and perhaps smug satisfaction of not just restoring Dorn's great defensive works and strategies, but also improving on them. His Iron Warriors took the new name of the "Steelforged" to indicate that they have been "reforged" without the impurities that led to their original counterpart's fall to Chaos, and made better and stronger for it. They begrudgingly accepted being divided up into myriad new chapters, acknowledging the value in smaller unit tactics, but like the Imperial Fists, retain protocols to temporarily reassemble, even so far as to full Legion Strength, should it be deemed tactically or strategically necessary. To the great chagrin of the High Lords of Terra, the Steelforged and their many successor Chapters have been significantly more liberal with these “reunions” than the Imperial Fists have been, though typically only a handful of Chapters temporarily join together, united by shared lineage and common cause. As of this time, the Fourth Legion has NOT seen fit to reassemble.
The Steelforged have once more become the tip of the spear in many Astartes operations; unwilling to sit idly by and wait for the call to react. Like the Black Templars, they and their successors are nearly always on Crusade, with each Crusading Chapter many times the regularly proscribed "full strength" of the Codex Astartes, an engine of war certainly and surely working its way from one end of the galaxy to the other towards the Imperium's greatest threats, with massive secondments to the Deathwatch and Solblade initiatives, including whole Chapters enthusiastically volunteering for the latter. Their deep involvement in these organizations stems from their belief that the Imperium must strike at its foes preemptively rather than simply react to attacks. For Aegis, the defense of the Imperium is not just about reinforcing walls and waiting for enemies to come; it’s about pushing out, taking the fight to the galaxy’s greatest threats, and ensuring that every world held in the Emperor's name is worth defending.
The Reclaimed Angron took more time than his brothers to shed himself of the expectations of pain from the Butcher's Nails that no longer afflicted him. Indeed, the memory of those torture devices now seemed like a distant nightmare that he had finally awoken from. Free to think, free to FEEL as he wanted, he shed his name of rage and violence, and took the name "Archeos", after a famed and just warrior prince from Terra's distant past. Even so, even freed to feel the scope of the complete human experience, Archeos knew he was a warrior at heart. But, no longer a rabid dog of war or a devourer of worlds, he could choose for the first time what kind of warrior he wanted to be — and his heart wept upon learning Sanguinius' ultimate fate. And so Archeos stepped up as best he could to fulfill his fallen brother's legacy, to be for the Imperium what Sanguinius had once been. His steps thus far in the role have been uneven and inexperienced, marked by a warrior’s eagerness to act and a lack of experience with statesmanship and empathy. Yet his sincerity is undeniable, and his effort to bring a new kind of honor to the Astartes is genuine.
The Reclaimed World Eaters reformed as the Spartican Brotherhood, taking their name from an oppressed underclass rebellion from ancient Terra, and symbolizing how they now exist to fight for all those who exist in the gutters of the Imperium, the selfsame gutters from which they were once lifted from to glory. The Sparticans in particular show a streak of selfless nobility and empathy towards even the lowest citizens of the Imperium in their operations that rivals even the Salamanders, though they bring with them still the same boisterous love of savage and intense combat that once defined the War Hounds and the World Eaters.
The last thing Konrad Curze remembered was his death. It was as final an end as any might have hoped for. Yet he awoke, and felt life in his lungs. And the nightmares… the nightmare visions that had plagued him from his childhood, were now tempered by visions of beauty and nobility. Somehow, the whole scope of the future now finally lay open to him. Taking the name "Lucian" to distance himself from the monster that had preceded him, he became the Master of the Adeptus Arbites, finding an outlet for his intense drive for justice, as well as an advisor to Guilliman, counseling his brother with the contents of his myriad visions.
Lucian believed strongly in reforming the Arbites and Imperial Justice, so that it might be more just, but this clashed with his strong need to punish the guilty. In the end, a massive overhaul of Imperial Justice was conceived and executed by Lucian and Guilliman, creating the Departmento Justito, in which those of the Imperium who had grown fat and corrupt feasting on the Imperium's soul like a parasite would finally all face justice, one after the other. Due to the scale of corruption and hypocrisy within the Imperium's bloated structure, it's ever maze-like and cavernous endless bureaucracies, and unwillingness to look too closely into the precise dealings of its noble houses and Rogue Trader dynasties, this might prove to be perhaps an impossible task, doomed to last another ten thousand years, but one which feeds Lucian's never-ending craving for justice. The Reclaimed Night Lords, free of their darkest aspects, took the name "Duskbringers", and became once more a force of frightening intimidation, shock and awe, and psychological warfare, much as a lone vigilante might use theatricality and deception to create an effect on a city's criminal population far greater than what he typically could have accomplished alone. The Duskbringers are more than a Space Marine force; they and their successors have become an Icon, an Idea, and one which has taught all those enemies of the Imperium which hide in shadows to fear the dark.
The Reclaimed Fulgrim and the Reborn Emperor's Children were discovered by the 3rd Company of the Redemptor Roses, a loyal Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes forged from the original Fulgrim's gene seed in the late 40th millennium. After much diplomacy, Fulgrim managed to convince his sons of the reality: that Traitor and Primarch were now two VERY different men. Taking the name "Caelum", he guides his Reclaimed Legion, now known as the Exalted Sons, down the difficult road of reintegrating with the Imperial forces, dividing into myriad chapters, and adopting the Codex Astartes into their existing combat doctrines. The Redemptor Roses, led by their Chapter Master, Gautier Boudreaux, have largely taken the lead in managing this integration, giving the Exalted Sons the benefit of their long experience and commitment with being heirs to the legacy of the Great Crusade-era Third Legion while wrestling with the knowledge and the reality of what that legion ultimately became, and their pains and efforts to avoid the same fate.
Caelum himself has taken to lending Roboute Guilliman his expertise as a natural polymath, with the keen intellect that once saved and united Chemos without firing a shot now turns to assisting his brother in reforming the Imperium and helping coordinate its massive war machine, though on campaigns of particular importance, he will depart Holy Terra to join his Sons in battle. Much of Caelum's time on Terra has been spent fussing over the quality of life of the Imperium's Citizenry, and the struggle to convince them to accept better standards than the regime has permitted them to even WANT for ten thousand years. Caelum seeks to introduce art, music, poetry, and the finer things to every level of Imperial Life, though he frequently finds his efforts stymied by the quagmire that is the Adeptus Administorum, the Ecclesiarchy (despite Gregorium's best efforts), and the Inquisition.
The Exalted Sons, meanwhile, have integrated the Redemptor Roses' fierce commitment to banishing the chance of Chaos Corruption, and they and their successors have joined in many campaigns alongside those of the Luna Wolves and the Ultramarines and their kin, and have reminded the galaxy precisely why they were once considered the apex of what it meant to be a Space Marine during the Great Crusade, so long ago. Caelum’s presence on Terra and in the Imperium’s war efforts serve as a constant reminder that redemption is a path of both creation and destruction—destroying the old to create something better. He constantly advocates for the acceptance of beauty as a fundamental aspect of life, not a distraction from it, striving to make the Imperium a place where the human spirit could thrive, even amid endless war. It is a struggle that consumes him as much as the martial demands of leading his sons into battle, but one he pursues with the same fervor he brings to every aspect of his being. In this way, Caelum and the Exalted Sons seek not only to reclaim the legacy of the Emperor's Children but to transcend it, leaving behind a legacy far brighter and nobler than any they had once imagined.
Mortarion claimed the name "Thanatos" for his own, and the Death Guard were reborn as the "Pale Hawks", the Imperium's first, and best, line of defense against the forces of Chaos and its insidious corruption. Ever watchful over the areas of the Imperium long ago neglected by the Administorum and Departmento Munitorum, the Pale Hawks rove in great Casts across the fringes of the Imperium, bringing hope and protection to long isolated worlds that have not had them in ages. To that end, the Pale Hawks and their Successors find themselves working alongside the forces of the old Second Legion, the Imperial Hospitallers, in a reborn version of the Great Crusade of ancient times - bringing the God Emperor's protection, and his intended standard of living, to even the most distant and forgotten worlds. And where Chaos might be found, the Pale Hawks find themselves working closely if uncomfortably alongside the Warpwatchers and their sons, with the sons of the 15th Legion holding much wisdom and knowledge in the matters of the Warp and its inhabitants, and bring a gift for killing them, not simply banishing them. Thanatos, though not a particularly politically-minded Primarch like some of his brothers, often advises Guilliman and the other politically active Primarchs on matters relating to Chaos incursions, plagues, or other threats that require quick, decisive action. As much of his Son's duty and role has them ministering their talents to the Dark Imperium, he must rely on the Psykers of the Astra Telepathica to communicate his advice to his brothers on Holy Terra, which, even free of his corruptive traits, is a reliance he still would vastly prefer to not have.
He must also work alongside Ailani in dealing with the various Rogue Trader dynasties and fiefdoms of the Dark Imperium, fiefdoms which, while still loyal in the broadest sense, have developed an uncomfortable ease with their own way of doing things in their long isolation and independence that frequently conflicts with Thanatos' own sense of what loyalty ought to look like. Despite the difficulties posed by these challenges, Thanatos and the Pale Hawks remain steadfast in their mission to cleanse the Imperium of Chaos’s taint. They act not only as warriors but also as healers and guardians, seeking to mend the wounds left by ten thousand years of war and neglect. For Thanatos, redemption is not an end in itself, but an ongoing struggle to make the Imperium a better place, a struggle that will continue as long as the galaxy remains a battlefield. In this endeavor, the Pale Hawks would not falter, for they had become more than mere soldiers—they were the shield against the darkness, the bringers of hope to the forsaken, and the harbingers of humanity’s rebirth.
The Reclaimed Twin Primarchs of the 20th Legion, Alpharius and Omegon, took the names of Kaleidos and Janus, though both answer only to Kaleidos for anyone but each other. Together, they are once again the Ghost Who Walks In Many Places, and their Alpha Legion has been reborn as the Lernaean Serpents, a further reference to the Hydra of Myth and Legend. The Twins have taken command of the Solblade Initiative, finding the Tyranid threat both a clear and present danger to the Imperium, but also a shifting, ceaseless foe that is truly worthy of their talents and warfighting intellect; a chance at long last for the 20th Legion to show its quality and earn glory long overdue since the Great Crusade.
While the Lernaean Serpents took to the splintering of their legion into chapters the easiest of all the Reclaimed, nobody who knows their methods is convinced for even a minute that the Chapter has TRULY divided – they are simply doing what they have always done best: breaking up into decentralized warbands, each committed to its task. Among the Solblades, Kaleidos and his Marines impart that same knowledge and wisdom to the constituent forces, teaching even the lowliest Guardsmen and PDF volunteers how to be effective combatants no matter how many "heads" are "sliced off" by such a foe as the Tyranids -- to the Solblades and Imperial Guard units trained by the Primarchs and their Sons, whether their force is 2 million men strong or just 20, they will always have a strategy to be as effective as possible, even in environments where traditional communications or the chain of command collapses entirely. “Every soldier a rifleman, every grunt an officer.” Everyone knows everyone else's job well enough to do it effectively, should the need arise to do it.
The Lernaean Serpents and their myriad warband Chapters also specialize in rapid reorganization and shifting battle plans, essentially becoming the Imperium's foremost experts on warfare against hive-minded opponents. The Twin Primarchs have seen Holy Terra precious little since their return. Their place is not on the benches of politics, but on the battlefield, proving their ingenuity and strategic brilliance time and time again against the largest, keenest mind the Imperium has yet encountered. And what’s more, they appear to be gradually winning, offering hope that, even against the ceaseless onslaught of the Tyranids, newfound ingenuity and resourcefulness can yet prevail. With Kaleidos’ leadership style finally proving its mettle under fire, their leadership is beginning to influence other Imperial forces, encouraging a more flexible and resilient approach to warfare across the galaxy. While their methods do not suit all factions or chapters, the lessons learned from the Lernaean Serpents may yet shape how the Imperium adapts to future threats, proving the wisdom of Ultramarines Chapter Master Marneus Calgar: “Rules should never make a prisoner of intelligence.”
Saorlaith, the Lost Eleventh Primarch, has been the most recent Reclamation alongside her Legion, the Black Eagles. Motivated to return at long last by whispers in the weave of time, overheard in her scrying at the far edge of space. The Sorceress Queen has decided that now is the proper time to return, for it is now, and no other time, in which her people, ten thousand years in exile, finally have a future they might call their own, but such a future demands decisive action on Saorlaith's part. The dread wailing of the Carnefex now drones across hundreds of worlds, the harbinger of the Crow Queen's return.
Arriving, as Ailani did, to an Imperium who has no memory of her very existence, and led not by the Emperor, but by his struggling sons, Saorlaith casts her lot in with her siblings, for she is older and wiser, and recognizes that she can either protect her people's culture and interests from the inside, or be forced to go it alone in exile once more. Unwilling to deny her people the worthy future she had seen in her dreams, she swallowed her pride and prepared to bend the knee to Roboute Guilliman, Lord Commander of the Imperium. To her shock, Guilliman did not accept her subservience, telling her instead that she "would best serve the Imperium as you are: a Primarch, not a puppet", and that her input would always be welcome. Heartened by acceptance she had never had before, Saorlaith became a staunch ally and confidante of Guilliman, and has found that her reincarnated brothers are MUCH easier for her to find common cause with. She also took quiet relief that, at least for the time being, Leman Russ was nowhere to be found, though she does not doubt for a moment that the Great Wolf will one day return on his own, for her sorcery has told her that "the Reclamations are not yet complete."
The Black Eagles follow the Codex Astartes in some form, though it is broadly interpreted and often recontextualized by the savage and mystic warriors, resulting in one of the loosest interpretations of the text to date, but still one fairly in line with the spirit of the thing. Their roving warbands have delighted in the strength of the enemies they now face across the galaxy, a fitting trial for some of the mightiest and most competitive fighters in Imperial History, long may the crows feast on the bodies of their enemies.
As the Age of Reclamation unfolds, the Imperium finds itself on the precipice of hope, a stark contrast to the desolation that followed the Horus Heresy over ten millennia ago. The emergence of these Reclaimed Primarchs and their noble Legions reignites a flicker of optimism among humanity, rekindling faith in a future where unity, redemption, and purpose may yet claim triumph over the chaos that has plagued the galaxy for so long. The specter of the past looms large, yet the actions of these reborn champions suggest a path forward—a path illuminated by the potential for healing and the restoration of the Emperor’s vision. While the mechanisms of the Reclamation of the Traitors is not understood, for the first time in ten thousand years, the Imperium glimpses the possibility of renewal, a chance to reclaim its lost glory and forge a brighter destiny amid the stars. The Age of Reclamation is not merely an era of war, for while in the Grim Darkness of the 43rd Millennium, there is only war, hope now dares bud from beneath the corpses. Perhaps, just perhaps… all is not yet lost.
Hiiii, I've been seeing your content for a while now, and I think it's great, could you tell me the headcanons you have of the Egyptian gods,especially from Taweret, I love reading them😈
*pull up a chair* oh boy, this is gonna be long. How much time do you have?
Just to let you know, I don't responsabilize myself for how many hcs I have here but im so happy you asked it
Ok, this is a little long and I have more. Press at your own risk
• Osiris and Isis raised Anubis from a baby because Nephthys was afraid to raise him near Seth. Seth was extremely sad about this separation, but refused to ask for his son because of his proud
• Ironically, as the years passed, he became closer to Seth than to Nephthys and still had the good education his uncle and aunt gave him.
• Horus and Serket married after he took the throne and had Hapi, but they never saw each other as a couple and they became good friends over the years. When Horus asked for a divorce to marry Hathor, Serket was happy to help prepare the wedding
• Tawaret and Thoth love to bet on the gender of the pharaohs' babies, the two have been tied for centuries
• Shu loves crafts and sometimes makes small souvenirs by hand for others. He says they are from Tefnut.
• Ra has a perfect memory and yet he still gets his children's names wrong
• Anubis is the kind of guy who just gets tired and leaves a place. Sometimes he does this during conversations and never brings up that again.
• Tawaret and Bes are very close and they often help travelers with small children together, especially if a woman in the group is pregnant. This brought them very close and he always makes her laugh a lot with his jokes.
• Hathor cries at romance movies and likes to randomly quote her favorite scenes. But she is really into mystery series and will give huge speeches about them.
• Heka never ceases to be amazed by humanity's medical advances. Yes, he already knew the cure for this disease, but isn't it amazing that they discovered it too?!
• Thoth loves the color purple and light blue, his outfits are always in this palette.
• Anput started wearing her hair in braids after seeing some foreign women wearing them. She looks stunning
• Osíris is the kind of father who would send a good morning message with flowers and a loud audio in the family group
• Isis and Tawaret are good friends. Tawaret helped her during her pregnancy with Horus, and Isis is extremely grateful for everything. They go out for tea and gossip about the pantheon.
• Hapi and Imseti are very close and are partners in crime. If you see them both running in any direction, go the other way.
• On the other hand, Ihy and Kebechet are a very well-behaved and calm duo. Despite being two children, literally, they are both very easy-going and spend much more time talking than being chaotic
• Horus and Anubis get along very well and see each other as brothers, but neither of them will admit it. Anubis is Horus' right-hand man and always helps him make decisions for the pantheon.
• Khnum sometimes makes personalized statues of the gods he doesn't like and then crushes them. It's therapeutic.
• Tefnut and Nephthys are very sensitive, sometimes they meet and talk about their feelings to make it easier to deal with them.
• Seth and Isis are a great duo, but they can't stand being around each other for too long.
• Nefertem, Sekhmet, and Ptah are a good family and are very close. Even when Ptah and Sekhmet are having a hard time due to their different personalities, they still put Nefertem first and appear at social events together. It's a little chaotic at times, but he makes her smile in a way no one else can.
• Duamutef has an appreciation for music and has learned to play all different types of instruments.
• Ma'at rarely appears to the pantheon, too focused on her work in the Duat to maintain order and peace. She appears once every few millennia, so she and Thoth always go on cute dates and enjoy the few hours they have together. This time apart has never affected either of them, as Thoth is also very busy, and they are a very much in love couple.
• Bastet is definitely a daddy's girl and loves to rub it in her siblings' faces.
• Khonshu has a collection of pictures of the gods falling/making weird faces for fun
• Anubis and Anput are very affectionate and they will stop appearing at some pantheon event to simply be together.
• Qebui likes to race with gods from another pantheon, like Hermes, and the results are between acceptable and chaotic.
• Heka and Apollo are friends and sometimes hang out together.
• Wadjet has caused at least three fights among the pantheon by accidentally saying something too loud.
• Nekhbet is the type of person who doesn't like you and say it on your face
• Heqet is a very sweet and kind goddess, but she is also very gossipy and loves to know all the news of the pantheon.
• Seth, Sekhmet and Sobek are a chaotic and rude trio, but they trust each other a lot. Trust me, you wouldn't want to be against their team
• Nefertem and Seshat are very intelligent and calm gods, but they have -1 IQ when they are together and even laugh in the wind. Osiris don't let them sit together during meetings because they kept disturbing Horus with their laughter.
• Nut is a complicated goddess at times. She is a good mother and grandmother but loves a bit of chaos so her reaction is unpredictable sometimes
• Gebe, on the other hand, is really firmer in his principles. It's easy to know how he will react to certain things and generally the gods feel comfortable talking to him. When Gebe gets angry, which is very rare, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions happen
• Kebechet is attached to Anubis and learned everything from him, which she is very proud of. Physically, she looks a lot like Anput.
• Khonshu and Ihy really like each other. Sometimes Ihy sneaks out of his parents' house to show Khonshu her new songs. Khonshu travels a lot, but he always brings back a souvenir for Ihy.
• Bes is a great cook and listener. Unintentionally, he became a therapist to several gods because of this.
• Ptah and Khnum sometimes get together to create their sculptures together, but they don't talk much. It's a nice, peaceful silence
• Naunet has a terrible fashion sense and no one has the courage to tell her that
• Bastet is great at gymnastics and likes to use artistic moves during combat. She confuses Seth with this, especially when they are in the middle of a battle.
• Nu can appear in a physical form and interact with other gods, he just chooses not to do so because he is too lazy to interact socially and does not want to get involved in the frequent chaos of the pantheon.
pharaoh!Shinichi au
So this is some of my folklore that I had bent into a Kaishin au and I wanted to get this idea out of my head.
So here it goes:
Kaito is a 29 years expert Egyptologist who went to the Valley Of Kings in Egypt for more research about the infamous king Tutankhamun but had stumbled upon an undiscovered Tomb covered in sand, he decided to enter the underground tomb himself to only take a look at the structure only to find it to be a small tomb and seemingly one not for a great pharaoh.
Kaito then reads on the wall the normal warnings written on all tombs: The tomb was protected by the curse of the pharaoh.
Kaito then realised that, unlike other tombs, the warnings didn't mention a name, which was weird, all Egyptian tombs had the name of the buried pharaoh at the beginning of the sentence, but the tomb seemed old enough to be as old as the pyramids. If the tomb didn't mention a name then either the pharaoh didn't rule for long, or he was a hated king.
Or he just had a tragic story like Tut.
Upon venturing more, the air started to become heavy and Kaito knew he was getting closer to where the king was buried.
He found a sarcophagus made of stone at last, and when he opened it to find the mummy, he was shocked.
The mummy had its eyes opened and Kaito thought for a second that it was looking at him but then he was like "Nah! he died from over 2000 years, stupid mummy, that scare took years of my life."
When Kaito attempted to read the name engraved on the inside of the sarcophagus, his sight blurred, lost his balance and fell. When he got up to his feet, he found himself in the Duat. The underground world.
Kaito then realised he had died! And was sent to the underground for judgment upon entering the Pharaoh's tomb.
After making his journey through the Duat he finally reached the Hall of Maat. Here, the purity of the dead would be the determining factor in whether they would be allowed to enter the Kingdom of Osiris. A judge hall. Kaito realised there was an extra member in the hall who wasn't supposed to be there according to his studies, but with the command of Maat to speak and do his expected job, he revised in his head what the deceased were tasked to do here and did as he remembered.
The deceased's first task was to correctly address each of the forty-two Assessors of Maat by name while reciting the sins they did not commit during their lifetime.
Kaito was able to address each one of them correctly but stumbled when he reached the member who wasn't supposed to be there. He bowed in apology as to express he didn't know him.
Maat then said the most shocking revelation, "This is the pharaoh who you had disturbed."
And that made Kaito feel guilty right away.
After that, Kaito was presented with the balance that was used to weigh their heart against the feather of Maat. If Kaito's heart balanced with the feather of Maat, Thoth would record the result and he would be presented to Osiris, who admitted them into the Sekhet-Aaru. However, if his heart was heavier than the feather, it was to be devoured by the Goddess Ammit, permanently destroying the soul of the deceased, and ceasing to exist.
And to his bitter luck (thanks to the Kaito KID work he did in his teenagers) the heart was heavier.
And before his heart was fed to Admit, the pharaoh he had disturbed spoke up. "Wait a minute, Maat. I have another idea for him. He had been a criminal, but his goal was to destroy a whole gang that was more of a threat, and he did succeed in that, bringing the light to all those who were brutally murdered by the sinful hands of those criminals, feeding his heart to Maat feels unfair to me. Especially after all that he must have endured to cast the light on the truth."
Kaito didn't know how this young pharaoh knew all this, but this was working in his favour somehow.
"However, robbery is also considered a sin and an unforgivable mistake to make, especially with all the known consequences. And punishment is unavoidable, especially after disturbing a king's rest."
Okay, he withdrew his thoughts about this working for him.
"But since we need to reconnect our power to the real world and regain all knowledge that was lost, I suggest the idea to rebirth Kuroba Kaito's soul into his teenage body before he started his criminal activity, and for his punishment to drop completely, he has to catch those filthy criminals over again but without resorting to any criminal thoughts or actions."
Wait, what?
Maat then looked at the young pharaoh with inquiry "But to ensure Kuroba Kaito doesn't return to his criminal activity, we need an eye on him. That's impossible given our situation."
The pharaoh then gave Kaito a look, and Kaito was momentarily mesmerized by how sharp and intelligent these azure blue eyes were, he seemed determined and sure of his words.
"Then I'll do the pleasure of watching over Kuroba Kaito as the pharaoh of justice representing Maat on the lands of living. I'll get resurrected in my body and watch over him and live with him as a guard and a messenger for you all to resure Kuroba Kaito doesn't do anything of his criminal past ever again."
Kaito couldn't believe his ears, and felt like fainting right there.
He couldn't even believe it more when Maat agreed, after some hesitation.
"Then, Kuroba Kaito, do you agree to relive your teens and remove your sins from all minds, or would you prefer to let Ammit eat your heart, ceasing your existence?"
He chose the former, and when he reopened his eyes, he was inside his room, he ran to the mirror and saw his teenage face, and to his right, was the pharaoh, who looked bemused.
"Thanks to me now you have more years in your life you stupid thief."
And that's how Kaito earned himself a new roommate, and a new chance to correct everything.
Decisions (Fear pt.2)
”I’m not late, am I?” Your voice rang out in the temple.
Ra, whose eyes had been trained on you since the moment you walked in, smirked.
"No, Amheh, you are not late. We await for the last member to come. Come, take a seat."
Ra gestured at one of the empty seats and looked at the other members.
"Anyone know when Seth is coming? It is quite strange that he didn't show up yet."
You walked over to the seat, your body tense. She had tried to kill you, multiple times, if I might add. And yet here you were, at her side, again.
Suddenly, a loud rumble started outside. Everyone looked worried.. Suddenly, the wall broke down and Seth stormed in. “You better have a hell of an explanation as to why I’m here!” His voice boomed in the room, only to be cut short by Maat.
"Hmph. The late ones have arrived." Maat mumbled.
Seth looked at Osiris. "Ahh. Great. My favorite punching bag." He said with a devilish smile.
"Shut up, Seth." Isis said with a cold gaze. "We have an important meeting to discuss. So sit your ass down and start acting like you are a part of this pantheon."
“Children! Children! Please!” Ra mocked them in a sarcastic tone. “Less arguing and more judging, yes? That is why we’re here after all, aren’t we?”
“Ra’s right.” Your voice boomed over the quarreling gods.
There was silence for a moment. Everyone looked at you.
Seth had an expression of disbelief on his face. He looked shocked, really. He thought you were dead by now, astray from the pantheon, or stuck in some crevice of the underworld and yet…. There you stand.
Osiris covered his face with his hands and sighed.
Horus gave a thumbs up at you, waiting for you to continue.
“Now, onto the trial, yes? You asked for me, here I am. Get a move on, alright? I have other pantheons to be in.” You spat, your eyes red like two heated coals
Horus smiled.
"I like this one. Very bold." Horus said with a smirk.
Ra looked at you. “Amheh, you are back to us for good, are you not?"
“Never was, never will be. Moving on.” You said, looking at the other gods in a cold fury
Ra laughed, her rich voice echoing in the temple.
"Am-heh, if I remember correctly, we had a previous deal with you." The devilish god said while chewing a piece of meat. "According to the deal, if you came back, we will grant you an boon. Was it not a good deal?"
“I returned here to be judged, and to be granted the boon. That is all. As soon as this is all over, I’m leaving again.” You replied.
“We’ll see.” Ra said, earning a glare from you.
And so, the judging began. You, we’re blamed for the eclipse, draughts, storms, everything bad, of course. It wasn’t an uncommon occurrence by now. Oh, sure, blame the big bad evil god that escaped the underworld. Why not? Of course, you pleaded as ‘Not Guilty’ multiple times. But then, of course, no one listened to you, it seemed.
“I propose a notion.” Nut said, looking towards you, and then towards Ra.
“Go on.” Maat said.
“If what they plead as isn’t true, and they are responsible for the following, how do we make sure that they’re guilty? What if Am-heh’s innocent?” Nut said.
“I propose a trial.” Geb said, raising his hand.
“What sort of trial?” Sekhmet seemed eerily interested.
“One of us should keep an eye on them!” Said Osiris. “I offer myself to-“
“No offense, Osiris, but this, following your previous history with letting prisoners escape…” Ra cut him off as she noticed the disgusted look upon your face.
For once, ever since you got back, you felt like your ex was finally back on your side. Until…
“I suggest we send Am-heh to Seth.” Ra said, smirking.
“WHAT?!” You almost choked on your own spit, along with the rest of the Godly Council.
Seth seemed as shocked as you were, given the predicament. He didn’t trust you. Not one bit. I mean, sure, you talked, and even bonded a bit before, but not enough for him to be responsible for your life on the line here-!
The Heroine's Journey 101
What do you want?
I want a full Heroine's Journey arc for Carol.
That's what I want.
I read Gail Carriger's The Heroine's Journey just over a year ago and I've been thinking about the Heroine's Journey in relation to Carol ever since.
First things first, I need to stress that the Heroine's Journey is not the same as the Hero's Journey.
I don't want a Hero's Journey for Carol because this framework privileges individual greatness and solitude. Heroes tend to end up sad and alone.
I want a Heroine's Journey for Carol because this framework is about love, connection, and community.
Heroines love and are loved in return.
Heroines get their happily ever after.
Who wouldn't want that for Carol?
The Heroine’s Journey is a timeless narrative framework. And I mean timeless! Carriger traces its origins in ancient myths from all around the world (The Theft of Persephone, The Myth of Osiris, The Descent of Ishtar) and it's still being used today. Carriger highlights that the Heroine's Journey is the backbone of hugely successful pop culture franchises (Harry Potter, Twilight) and this framework also underpins most romance novels (one of the most lucrative forms of fiction). The Heroine's Journey is a winning formula because it prioritizes emotional resonance. We root for the characters because they feel authentic. These stories make us cry, smile, and cheer in all the right places. These stories always keep us engaged and keep us coming back for more.
And guess what? The Heroine's Journey is also common in our fandom equivalent of romance novels - Caryl fics.
Sticking with obvious examples for now, we all know that search and rescue narratives are common in fic, right? If you've ever read a fic where Carol is on a mission to find her lost daughter and she falls for Daryl along the way, you've read a Heroine's Journey. If you've ever read a fic where Carol sets out to rescue Daryl, you've read a Heroine's Journey. Similarly, If you've ever read a fic where Carol rebuilds her life after being exiled or forced to leave home, you've read a Heroine's Journey.
What I'm trying to say is you’re probably already a fan of the Heroine’s Journey. If you like narratives with a strong emotional core, romance, love, found family, comfort, and happy endings then look no further than the Heroine's Journey.
By my reckoning, Carol’s never done a full Heroine’s Journey arc in the flagship show. Some of that is to do with Carol’s personality – she’s a lone wolf for the most part and the desire for revenge can be a strong motivator for her. Creative decisions have also prevented Carol from having a full Heroine's Journey. Carol's never really been allowed to have a full romantic storyline with Daryl and she's never really achieved emotional closure.
I'm hoping things are different this time around. We definitely have a real opportunity to see a Heroine's Journey in action. This is because Carol's undertaking a recovery mission, not a revenge mission. Critically, Carol’s love for Daryl is at the heart of her quest. Her love is driving her every step of the way. Carol's love is what makes her a heroine.
My next few posts will break down each major stage of the Heroine’s Journey (The Descent, The Search, The Ascent). I'm going to explain how each beat could be used in TBOC and what I'd like to see from the show. Some of these beats are a given and already form part of the TBOC's story. Some beats and themes should be a given. Most importantly, Carol's undertaking this journey because she loves Daryl - the narrative should be hammering that point home at every opportunity. We also need to see meaningful payoff - we need to know that Carol didn't come all this way for nothing. Another hug isn't going to cut it. Another "I love you" sans kiss isn't going to cut it.
We need to see a passionate and romantic reunion.
We need to see Caryl's love proudly celebrated on screen.
They've earned it.
We've earned it too.
Romantic canon is the natural conclusion to Carol/Caryl's arc and Carol's Heroine's Journey would be incomplete without romantic closure.
Before I sign off, please remember that the Heroine's Journey emphasizes collaboration and community.
The floor is yours!
Let's talk about what we want for Carol, Caryl, and Melissa McBride.
Let's talk about which beats are the most important to us.
Let's talk about how we want to feel when watching The Book of Carol.
okay so regarding the Great Quiet Thing. I was reading through your big post to get caught up on all the Saint stuff (I was around for Curse but played very little, wasn't around for Dawn) and when you got to the Sundial section it clicked for me - I agree it's pretty clear that there's nothing to do with Ahamkara, but I'm not so sure that Worm Gods can be dismissed so easily - as I understand it there are quite a few that we know of but don't know anything about, right? And Xol was able to do... something with the Vex structures on Io? Not sure about the details there but the idea of Worm God + Vex isn't entirely out of nowhere, right? Absolutely no evidence or detailed thought about it but my gut guess is that 1) the sundial core is related to a Worm God if not literally one of them (maybe it's serving a similar role as the worm larvae do in their pact with the hive, feeding Light to its parent worm?) and 2) the Not-Worm in the Vexnet is related to/is that same worm tied to the sundial (or it's just. an echo of Xol or something). Osiris did say after all that his Echoes were more appropriate for Taken Kings, right? He could've chosen any metaphor to say "yeah they're a darkness-based ability" but he went for that.
I thought the same thing, exactly because I mentioned the Worm Gods in that post as an option as well. And the moment I read that in the lore page I was like. Are they going with that then? Because that would definitely fit with what we know about the Sundial core. I'm still not sure if that really needs explaining, but they've mentioned the Sundial again this week and in a very... concerning way.
The Conductor claims, had Osiris not created the Sundial, had I remained forgotten, Sagira would live still. How could these things be connected?
Huh? How indeed. Why would they tell us this?
I always thought that there might be some symbolic "life for a life" cost of the Sundial that somehow related to Sagira's fate, but them bringing it up in this way is... strange. The Conductor could always just be saying this to upset Saint ofc and there doesn't need to be anything truthful about it, but. I am considering it.
The name of it being specifically "Not-Worm" bothers me though because it's almost too on the nose about it not being a worm. Sounds like something a worm would say. But maybe it is just what it says on the tin. The other name also makes me think. "The Great Quiet Thing" reminds me very much of Osiris' way of describing the Lunar Pyramid as: "The Great Angular Thing."
Osiris was no stranger to Hive shenanigans so him somehow having some Worm God parts would not be extraordinary. He literally had a fang of Xivu Arath. Whispering and eating the Light and coming in with some dark bargain all fits here. And if the Conductor isn't lying about the link to Sagira, well, Sagira ultimately died because of the Hive.
This might be some stuff that gets cleared up next week, or it could potentially be the related to Act 3 or more specifically to the exotic mission coming in Act 3.
It might also be entirely unconnected and it's a setup for something going forward, possibly the other two incoming episodes. Some unknown entity lurking in the Vex Network, pretending not to be there and saying it's "too soon" seems like it's possibly just a hint for something later.
But of course, I am going unhinged by the minute. They keep dropping details that are like a few sentences that send me spiralling into madness every few days.
I'm definitely thinking about it.
egyptian asteroid observations (part 2)
these observations are completely hypothetical. they are based on my (the those closest to me's) experiences with each aspect/ placement! please don't take everything i say as predestined, astrology is possible outcomes not guaranteed ones. this is just a starting place for when examining singular objects in an entire galaxy (these are not the only asteroids in affect for you). take what resonates and leave what doesn't!
☥ taurus (2°, 14°, 26°) and libra (7°, 19°) hatshepsut (2436) feminines are usually not as androgynous as this famous lady - they often are feminine in appearance, but dress mildly as though to hide these feminine qualities (ex: billie eilish is a libra hatshepsut)
☥ hatshepsut (2436) negatively aspecting moon likely struggle with feeling feminine and/or accepting/appreciating their femininity
☥ hatshepsut (2436) negatively aspecting mercury people are often quickly forgotten after their deaths despite them doing great things in their lifetime
☥ hatshepsut (2436) positively aspecting asc people are often known for their androgyny
☥ hatshepsut (2436) retrograde people tend to struggle with breaking trends in the world around them - the glass ceiling, generational cycles/trauma, etc.
☥ aries (1°, 13°, 25°) horus (1924) people are very spiteful, quick to anger, and often seek revenge
☥ cancer (4°, 16°, 28°) horus (1924) people frequently challenge matriarchal beliefs
☥ 5h horus (1924) people often toy with people when getting revenge - they like to drag it out
☥ horus (1924) positively aspecting moon people are quick to adapt to whatever challenges get in their way
☥ horus (1924) positively aspecting mercury people often do a lot of productive shadow work in this lifetime
☥ asc-horus (1924) aspects can be bird like in appearance - usual it is their nose shape - OR it could be in their eyes that they have predatory gaze (some have heterochromia)
