sherlock is bad with money. he's not ridiculously frivolous with it or anything, he just can't be bothered to pay attention to it. but it's fine, because mycroft has been handling all that for him for years. sometimes that means making unsolicited deposits into his accounts and sometimes it just means making sure his bills are in fact being paid because god knows sherlock doesn't deem those important enough to keep track of. (and in the times in sherlock's life when things have been rougher, there's always been a spare room available at mycroft's.)

he does know how to drive, but he rarely has occasion to do it himself, on account of the whole "people who run the government can have cars and drivers ordered whenever they like" thing. and so at this point, he simply prefers not to.

he used to play piano. he doesn't actively play so much in his adult years, but he does own a piano, of course he does, because a house like his sort of has to have one, there's practically a law about it, and maybe there are occasional nights where someone in the vicinity might hear him sit down to demonstrate what he still remembers. (not that there ever is anyone to hear it.)

sometime well-before john and sherlock are actually together, mycroft is at baker street and makes a very casual remark insinuating that they are in fact already together. john about chokes on his tea and sherlock is immensely pleased with being able to tell his brother that he's an idiot and also wrong. (nevermind that such a statement will have to be retracted six months later.)

he has a tendency to just sit of appear places, as if on cue, all the time. he doesn't exactly abide by general guidelines re:knocking and "waiting for an invitation." sort of the opposite of a vampire, there.

john watson is one of the few people for whom mycroft will answer the phone by the third ring, no matter the hour. (sherlock would be included on that list, but he so rarely calls that it hardly matters.) he's also one of the few people in the world capable of intimidating mycroft, a feat that sherlock himself certainly cannot claim.

i don't think that man's ever worn jeans in his life. perhaps an argument could be made for it before the age of twenty. but even if he ever were in a setting calling for something more casual than a 3-piece suit and french cuffs, he would be going more the "this is a victorian-esque hunting outfit, or some other outfit that would be more fittingly called an 'ensemble'" route than the "jeans and a jumper" route.

Could you maybe explain to me what exactly Jason's problem with Bruce was/is when he came back?

Maybe I'm being stupid but I don't know. Like, I know there's this space between Jason's resurrection and Talia finding him... and Jason returing for a sec to kill Bruce, then changing his mind, and went back to Talia to plan The Ultimatum and travel the world a bit.

I went off the assumption that Jason thought Bruce didn't care enough for him to kill the Joker and then the whole stupid thing with the batarang to the neck after everyone thought Dick died.

But, like, Jason kind of destroyed his relationship with the batfam himself with the whole coming out of nowhere and trying to hurt/traumatize/kill them. I don't mean to hate on Jason specifically, I just don't get him on a fundamental level.

Would really appreciate if somebody could clear that up, I'm kind of desperate. Like I have most of the facts but it seems like a jigzaw puzzle with too many pieces and I can't make sense of it.

To be honest, I don't understand your confusion fully? You pretty much explained it yourself, why Jason was angry at Bruce after he came back. Even Judd Winick, the writer of Under the Red Hood, says it very concisely (in this interview):

You say that Jason harmed his relationship with the Batfam himself as if Jason's intention had been to have good relationships with them. At the times he went after Tim or Dick or Damian, I don't think he cared much about that, hah. Most of his choices at the time could be boiled down to "What would piss off Bruce the most, either directly or by proxy?"... and also, "What would get Bruce's attention the most?". Because that's what made it complicated, right. Jason wouldn't have gone to these extremes if he didn't care about Bruce.

As to things not making sense... you're not being stupid, I'm sorry to say that at least to me, it's impossible to reconcile all of Jason's actions within a coherent character. Just because he was written by different people in different continuities with very different goals (though maybe more accurately, by some writers lacking a goal, as in not really knowing what to do with him). This is true for most comic book characters, not just Jason; true consistency is a pipe dream when the history of a character spans decades. Keeping that in mind, my personal approach is forming an idea of the original core traits of a character (which is why I gave examples of what Winick himself said), and then filtering their subsequent portrayals through that. Some comics will be horribly OOC despite them technically being canon and you simply have to go the "I recognize that the Council has made a decision, but given that it's a stupid-ass decision I've elected to ignore it" route. Then there's, of course, your personal preferences; you can choose what is canon to you because you like it, and form your idea of a character around those instances-- though here I'd always warn to never stop being aware that it's your idea of the character. There is no absolute truth, and we're all playing in a sandbox. Other people will choose other instances of canon, or try to reconcile all of them somehow, and your ideas might not jive. That's perfectly fine.

That being said, while I do like Jason a lot, he isn't my full-time blorbo, so I'm sure other Jason scholars could respond to this much better than I did! If anyone wants to add more in-depth answers, please do.

-How you and Dude met will forever be a mystery, just know that him becoming obsessed with you was a "slow" progression. It starts off slow cause he's rather terrified of you, thinking you're one of the infected

-Once you have "proven" that you aren't an infected, the obsession will start. Dude is rather startled by his growing obsession of you. Dude's not used to being around people, and definitely not used to having a crush on someone. So the crush goes down a rather toxic route very quick

-It starts off small, when he gets the strength to go out, he'll be stalking your every move. Scouting out the neighborhood you live in to see if there's any threats to watch out for. He prefers to do this at night where he can hide away easily. He'll also take this time to look in through your windows as well, his way of checking in on you without you knowing. When you're out and about, he's lurking behind a few feet away with a Glock in his coat pocket ready to be used if anyone dares to think about hurting you

-Starts writing about you in his journal. It starts off with writing basic info on you, but then starts to devolve into ramblings. He starts to view you as this Holy figure, sent by God to him as a reward for being such a good Christian boy. He might even claim that you're the second coming of Jesus if it gets bad enough. Dude suffers from religious psychosis, so it's expected for his mind to warp you as this angel that was brought down to keep him safe and "sane". And while he's blessed to have this gift, he doesn't wanna lose you and is willing to "cut off your wings" to keep you with him on Earth

-Mr. Home Invader. He will break into your home constantly. Your home is the closest to Heaven he can get while stuck on this planet, so he wants to be there all the time. He's a big fan of stealing your stuff as well, mainly your clothes. He likes taking jackets and hoodies cause he can wear them and feel like you're giving him a hug. Also, the smell of your cologne and natural musk makes him FERAL. It activates his singular neuron

-While he does his stalking, he's making plans on kidnapping you and keeping you in his home. When it's time to enact his plan, it goes just as it should. He wants this to be as painless for you as possible, drugging you so you won't pick a fight. He keeps you locked in his room. He's taught Champ to keep guard and make sure you don't try to leave. And don't even bother trying to fight back, not only will you get mauled by Champ, but Dude's also strong and has weapons. He'll hurt you if he has to (even though he doesn't want to), but you need to learn that you're stuck here. He'll tie you down to the bed if you keep trying to fight

OHHH MAN i could write an entire video essay about this topic lmao, let me try to be as brief as possible

Hazbin - Worst Character: This one's hard, there are a few characters who probably suck but I just don't know that much about them. But based on what I know now, honestly…? Charlie. Coinsidering that… I think Faustisse?… confirmed that she's over 200 years old, the sheer level of naivete on her part is just annoying and unbelievable. She's over twice as old as Alastor, she should not be swayed so easily by him. As far as I'm aware she's not in a Disney Princess situation where she was shut inside the castle walls her entire life (PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong on that though) so there's no reason why she shouldn't be at least a little savvy to the ways of sinner demons. She should also have been able to see the VERY OBVIOUS SIGNS that Vaggie used to be an exorcist. Even Carmilla comments that it's super fuckin obvious; the Princess of Hell herself should be knowledgeable enough to pick up on hints that even the fandom picked up on when it was just the pilot. Overall, Charlie just comes across as kinda stupid imo. I don't find myself rooting for her at all.

Hazbin - Worst Design: Alastor. I know he may not necessarily look the worst, and I do in fact simp for him, but his design does absolutely NOTHING that a character design is supposed to do. Namely, it doesn't tell us anything about him & it doesn't help him stand out from the cast. Nothing about his design is uniquely 1930s (nobody wore their hair like that, pinstripe suits started in the 1800s and continue to be popular today, monocles were more of an 1800s thing and were considered old-fashioned by the 30s) or deer-esque (his ears really do not look like dear ears at all, and his "antlers" are just microscopic salad forks that don't even show up on his silhouette). The whole Voodoo thing, aside from being super disrespectful to a literal religion that is still actively practiced, is also so inconsequential to his character that it can be removed entirely and change NOTHING about him. Any of his traits that are in line with the Voodoo thing can still exist without it -- him being a trickster and a dealmaker, mostly. All the blacklight stuff doesn't match his aesthetic at all: in Princess and the Frog where everything was 1920s it gave a magic effect, but in Hazbin where all different time periods comingle it just gives a raver effect, which doesn't fit his anti-modern preferences at all. Also the living-shadow thing is yet another direct ripoff from Dr. Facilier (that might just be in the pilot though I'm not sure), I think the living microphone is a better route to take if you want him to have a spiritual companion type of thing; it's more relevant to his theming and more original. And of course none of this even touches on the "he's half-black" bullshit excuse that only came after V*v received backlash about the Voodoo thing. And it doesn't even solve the issue anyway. A mixed-race man from the 1930s would make for a very interesting character IF that unique experience/identity was actually integrated into his character in any noticeable way, but it's not. It was just slapped on at the last minute. Ugh. I could write an entire essay about Alastor alone tbh.

Helluva - Worst Character: Fizzarolli, but mostly when he was first introduced. Aesthetically he's the closest thing that I have to a "blorbo" in this show, but in the Ozzie's episode he just gave me the most rancid vibes ever. Definitely a "asexuality doesn't exist, you just haven't been with ME yet~" type of person. Admittedly that's more of a personal preference thing and less of a poor characterization; they're in the Lust ring, that type of attitude is kind of expected. What IS poor characterization, however, is his "development" later on when he and Ozzie basically get their own arc. His entire personality changes to be much softer and like…. idk, very obviously a trauma VICTIM and not so much of a potential trauma CAUSER? His character is not nearly as abrasive, but there's no corresponding event that would cause such a change. It just seems like now that he's supposed to be a sympathetic character, they changed his personality to be more appealing. He's not nearly as mean and rude as he used to be. Ozzie has a similar thing going on but it's not quiiiiite as severe, and he's saved from being the Worst by having a far more interesting and unique design. (If you had asked who I think has the BEST design in Helluva, I'd probably say Ozzie.)

Helluva - Worst Design: Beelzebub, no contest. A lot of people seemed to have a problem with her being bee-themed instead of fly-themed like the real Beelzebub in demonology, but that honestly doesn't bother me; I'm not expecting any Hellaverse stuff to be super accurate to The Real Lore so any tiny reference they can slip in (like with Ozzie's design) is just gravy. To me, bee and fly are close enough, I think it counts as a reference. Plus, the bee theme goes well with Gluttony ("nectar" is a common synonym for delicious food) and calling her Queen Bee is an easy way to make her name more appealing/sexy than, yknow. "Beelzebub." What DOES bother me is her canine aspect. Why is she a sparkledog? What is the logic behind that? Why isn't she huge-by-default like Ozzie and Mammon? (You'd think GLUTTONY of all sins would be a big character!) It really just feels like V*v wanted Ke$ha to have a cameo role as a major character and just arbitrarily picked one of the sins for her to be. So the character design has Ke$ha in mind faaaaar more than it has Beelzebub in mind. ***(Funny thing about Queen Bee: for a solid week after her episode came out, I was actually fooled by this page from an RP wiki: [https://hazbin-hotel-and-helluva-boss-rp.fandom.com/wiki/Beelzebub] The explanation that I'd gleaned for this version of her is that the picture shown is the REAL Beelzebub, and the one we see in the show is her daughter by the lord of Hellhounds, Cerberus, which explains her canine features. Queen Bee Jr. is the heiress to her mom's title in the same way Charlie is the heiress to Lucifer's title. The picture shown on that page is just SUCH a better design, and it looks like the show's style, and she seems to be a giant like Ozzie and Mammon…. can you blame me for being like "OH that makes sense!!" Cut to me a week later finding out this is just a fan RP wiki. Siiiigh.)

Does your character prefer company or solitude when sick?

I think they both generally prefer to stew in their aliments alone, but now that they have each other, they recognize the benefits of seeking out company for comfort--lots of sympathy and soup and hair petting, etc (I can attest because I'm sick rn 😔)

10. Is there a habit your character has that they learned from someone else?

Vincent tends to emulate those around him, something he does subconsciously to 'fit in', so he often expresses sentiments or behaviors similar to those closest to him (considering his best friend is a 79 year old, this can potentially be a comedy gold mine)

I don't think Quinn has actively learned habits from others, rather he adjusts his own behavior out of spite--if he sees someone he despises behaving a certain way, he'll usually do the exact opposite on principle. He has tried to incorporate stricter and more professional practices from officers he actually respects, but his personal life doesn't really reflect that

18. What is your character's favorite form of affection?

Vincent really enjoys talking--this can be causal banter or long, deep meaningful conversations. He expresses his emotions most effectively when he can vocalize the issues at hand, so having someone sit and listen and engage is something he considers affection in itself. For physical stuff, he just likes being close; holding hands, leaning on each other, sleeping side by side, etc. To show affection, he loves pampering his partner; giving little gifts, one-sided sessions in bed, giving them all the attention~

Quinn's not an outwardly affectionate person and it takes him a really long time to even open up to that sort of thing. But, hypothetically speaking, he loves getting his hair played with. Also cuddles 😤. As an ordinarily 'aggressive' lover, in order to show genuine affection as opposed to lust, he tends to slow things down a bit; long, deep kisses, spending hours just holding each other and letting the passion speak for itself

Hmm. I see I took the horny route instead of saying 'they call each other cute names' or whatever... 🤷‍♀️

3. Is your character more prone to fight or flight?

Both are more inclined to fight. If threatened, I think both of them would instinctively try to attack and defend rather than retreat. Quinn has some anger issues and would definitely prefer to punch someone out in the heat of the moment than walk it off. Similarly, Vincent also has some uncontrollable bouts of rage, so yeah...he's a fighter 💪

20. Is there a fear your character wants to learn to overcome?

So..Quinn had previously been deadset on being a pilot (something he'd wanted since he was a kid), but at a certain point in his application process, he dropped out and joined the regular army. Turns out he has a real, deep-seated fear of flying (due to trauma, as per usual) Embarrassed and ashamed, he took measures to overcome this throughout his career--sure, he can jump out of a plane, but he still has this weird fear of being the one in control of an aircraft. Maybe one day Vince will teach him how to fly 🥺

Vincent has a rather valid fear of being used as a science experiment and thus stripped of all humanity. He'd been subjected to some gnarly examinations at some point (once vampirism was exposed, he was one of the first to admit himself as an 'example' and yeah--the British govt had no qualms in doing some pretty dubious shit to test his physical and mental capacities) As such, he still has this lingering fear of medical personnel and usually forgoes any kind of treatment unless necessary. He'd prefer to overcome this at some point, but it might take some time...

It's not that you don't like how you look. In fact, you've spent a lot of time over the years actively fighting the impulse not to.

You've always been bigger. Curvy. Hell, as an adult, you have no problem labelling yourself as fat, because it's not a dirty word. Sure, there are people who would use it as a slur, but you've long since come to the conclusion that that's their problem, not yours.

You've fought tooth and nail to be comfortable in your own skin, in a world that valued your complete opposite.

Of self imposed small portions and your mother's worried expression as you refused cakes, refused sweet teas, refused anything bigger than a fist sized helping, until your aunt had pointed out all of the happy, beautiful women with your body type on the internet, on TV, in magazines and on Broadway.

It had been the start of a long journey of self acceptance, of riotous body positivity, of wearing t-shirts with slogans proclaiming fat positivity, of punching a boy who called you a slur in the balls and getting suspended for a week. That same aunt had taken you to see a musical while you were suspended, had bought you a journal to write in.

You like to think you're a strong person. You've lived through that, lived through the literal fucking apocalypse. But you're only human, and sometimes words sting.

Leave you standing in front of the full length mirror in your shared bedroom, poking and jiggling at yourself with a critical eye that you know is distinctly un-feminist, so unlike you.

Your gaze is critical as you inspect stretch marks. On a good day, those are your stripes. You make jokes about being a zebra whenever Joel touches them, never remotely critical himself.

Joel. He was... something else. He'd come into town with his adopted daughter, remained cold and closed off to almost everyone except her and his brother for months, until he'd seen you make Ellie laugh. Until he'd heard her ask you how to make cookies, heard you promise to show her.

Then he'd started, slowly, to come out of his shell. To spend more time with you. Brought you flowers. Now you lived together, with Ellie just down the hallway, because there was no way in hell a sixteen year old was going to live by herself, even in Jackson.

You're confident in yourself enough to know that you're well matched, but when you get like this? Sometimes it's easy to think differently. To worry that maybe he might prefer someone younger, with a more traditionally, socially accepted standard of beauty.

You're just getting lost in that spiral when Joel comes in from the shower, already dressed for the day in jeans, flannel shirt, and jacket over the top.

"What're you doing, darlin'? You'll catch a cold."

He snags a spare shirt from the edge of the bed, comes to wrap it around you. He's broad as hell, so you can wear his shirts without feeling self conscious. Not that you ever would, anyway, stealing his clothes is your favourite pastime.

"Honestly?" You've always prided yourself on being truthful with him. "I'm feeling kind of crappy."

You let him wrap the shirt around you, put your arms into the sleeves and exhale at the scent of him still lingering in the fabric.

"You think you're getting sick?" His hand moves to your forehead, and in spite of yourself, you smile.

"No, it's not that, it's just..." You sigh. "You don't mind how I look, right?"

Joel stares at you as if you've just spoken a foreign language, grown a second head, and told him you're giving up baking, all in one go.

"Of course I don't mind. What's that even s'posed to mean, do I mind?"

"Because I'm fat, Joel. Because there aren't exactly many women who look like me in town, and people talk, and -"

"Don't call yourself fat." Joel means well, and god he loves you, but he's still got that mindset that older people have where fat is a dirty word, even though you've explained the concept of reclaiming a slur to him.

"I mean. You can. But don't... say it to put yourself down."

The fact that he's listened to your rambles about body positivity makes you feel better.

"People still talk..."

"Fuck 'em. Let them talk. See if I give a shit." He says gruffly, wraps his arms around you then squeezes gently. "Don't care that there aren't many girls who look like you. Makes you special."

Another hug, before his hands rub over your stretch marks, over the softness of your tummy, of your thighs.

"You're perfect as you are. Absolutely perfect. I don't want you to change. I love how you're confident in yourself, and I wouldn't change a damn thing. Ellie needs that sort of role model."

You offer him a watery smile. How is it that someone so stoic can be so sweet when he wants to?

"C'mon. Push those bad thoughts away, lets get you dressed before you freeze. Didn't you promise Ellie a baking day?"

You smile again, lean in to kiss him lightly on the cheek before you glance once more at your reflection; the shadow of your earlier mood gone when you look at yourself, wrapped in Joel's arms, safe and loved and perfect, just as you are.

The room has been turned over and all you can do is watch, not that you can do much, knocking out the man in front of you in order to escape was not smart, and you doubt you could hit him with your hands tied. At the sound of the slightest movement you make a change is noticeable in the man, although he doesn't stop searching and collecting whatever he wants around the room, you can see his shoulders tense slightly and then relax when he realizes that you're still planted next to the door in the same place where he left you.

Watching him made you learn something, if you really wanted to escape from him alive, you'd have to be very clever, obviously you couldn't beat him in physical strength, and apparently a vase wouldn't bring him down easily. Men like this aren't easily fooled, offering yourself to him wouldn't do any good either, and you particularly prefer not to take that approach.

He moves towards you, the words he said earlier echoing in your mind, a shiver running through your body as your eyes meet. He leaves no victims, either he will kill me here, or he plans to try and get more information out of me with some kind of torture.

You see the letter in his hand, the one you read, and a few others, the contents of which remain hidden from you.

"How about being a good girl for me now?" He seems to smile under his mask, his eyes narrow, the tone of his voice seems deeper and more muffled. There's no time to think about what he means by that because before you can say anything he's taking a black bandanna out of one of his vest pockets and fastening it around your eyes, he makes sure it's covering your eyes well, and then he sticks a strip of tape over your mouth.

Now you're sure, he's going to take you with him, to kill you, to get information out of you that you've already told him you don't have, or worse, to take you to who knows what kind of organization he's part of, and take advantage of your body.

His hands make contact with your hips and soon you're bent over what you think is his shoulder, a low sigh is all you can give, it's hard to breathe upside down but you can't complain.

He says something as he comes down the stairs, but you don't quite understand, the dizziness of being upside down drowns out what he says, the feeling that there might be someone else with him leaves you with a worse sense of fear than before.

You never considered yourself to be good at masking emotions or even the expression on your face, but after David revealed himself you had to get good at that theater, or else you're sure you'll end up dead and buried in the backyard of that house, and your parents will never know where you are. The thought gets darker and darker, pulling you towards the thought that maybe dying now would be better than whatever awaits you.

Your attention is drawn to the footsteps he takes. The sound of a car door opening sparks an instinct to flee, you're not sure what part of the world you're in now, but you know a bit about the surroundings, and you know that if you get into that car you certainly won't know where you'll end up.

You try to move your legs so that they hit him and maybe he'll let you go, but the movement is useless, the only thing the man does is sigh before throwing you into the car.

"I thought you'd already accepted it. You know you won't be able to escape, trying will only get you into more trouble, little thing." The door is slammed shut and muffled gravel noises are all that can be heard. Still undeterred by his words, you try again to find an escape route. With your hands tied in front of you, it's easy to pull the blindfold down, giving you a bit of a view, although all you can see is the dashboard and the front seats in a very precarious way, since removing the strip completely would attract more attention.

Obviously with your hands tied there's not much you can do, there's no way to open the car doors quickly and shouting for help was never an option, the guards appear to be dead or tied up, and well, the house is miles away from any civilization. If you had the chance to run now it wouldn't solve much either, I mean, look at the size of your legs and look at the size of his legs, before you even reached the edge of the forest he would have already caught you, or maybe lost patience and shot you dead.

The car door opens and all you do is cringe, the car shakes a little and the door closes, a second door opens and the process repeats. You can only see the arm of one of them and a bit of the side of their face, perhaps it's the person your kidnapper was talking to earlier. You feel stupid, if you hadn't been so desperate you would have been able to hear what they were saying, it was just a few words but sometimes it could prove very helpful later.

Hardly a word has been exchanged since they got into the car, just what you think is a conversation through glances, through the windows all you can see is the sky and the treetops passing by in a blur.

The second man has surely noticed that his blindfold is out of place, but he hasn't moved to fix it. Instead, he just busies himself with watching you from time to time, just to make sure you don't change position, or try something silly.

The thought of hanging one of them crossed your mind again and again, they tied your hands in front of you, you fantasized how easy it would be to sit on the bench and slip your arm through the seat back and hang one of them. The thought ended when you assessed the win rates.

You'd probably end up with a bullet between your eyebrows before you even managed to choke either of them.

At some point during the unknown journey you ended up in a soft nap, which was enough for the two men sitting in front of you to start talking.

"Do you think she'll be useful?" The man in the car asked.

"I don't know." He replied, his eyes glued to the road. His reputation for driving vehicles wasn't very good, but this time he was doing a good job.

"Has the customer contacted you?"

"Not yet, you know how it is."

"I thought this one was different, you said earlier about a better opportunity." The car slowed down and turned onto the tarmac. A sigh of relief came from the passenger.

"Who knows, maybe it is."

The car door is opened and a cool wind invades the interior of the car, a chill runs through your body and makes you shiver slightly. The man watches you from the door, you don't see him, but you know he's there, and you know he's already seen the state of the blindfold, the twisted fabric giving you some insight, if he's annoyed or upset by this he doesn't show it.

He grabs your body and pulls you out, again on his shoulders, you don't feel bad this time as you're placed upside down, you keep your eyes open and try to lean over to look around, it's not possible to see much, in fact it's impossible to see anything that might be important, just like your house this place is surrounded by trees, in fact it's even worse, there are bushes everywhere, and before you can judge further you're inside a wooden house.

The floor creaks with the weight, you didn't notice but the second man is already in the house, your kidnapper puts you in a chair and ties you to it, when he walks away you take a moment to look around.

The house was small, with no decoration apart from a vase of wilted flowers on the table. The fireplace had no wood and was full of cobwebs, the floor of the house was also thick with dirt, although the wood made a lot of noise the floor was still intact, with no broken wood or wood that looked rotten.

The man sitting on the shabby dark green sofa in the corner of the room had a freshly cut mohawk, an unshaven beard and a tired expression on his face, his gaze was somewhat emotionless, he assessed you the same way you assessed him, from head to toe.

When your gaze returned to the man with a skull covering his face, you frowned, irritated by the fact that you couldn't say anything, let alone move your aching body; it was late afternoon, judging by the light outside, the orange hue bathing the undergrowth. He didn't seem to mind your grimace though, he just removed the tape from your mouth and stared at you, probably expecting you to shout or say something, when you didn't he just nodded and walked away.

"I thought she'd have some resistance, she knows how to shout and everything." The Mohawk commented, looking more animated now, he didn't look at you instead spoke directly to the other man in the room.

"I think she's understood that no one will come even if she shouts." He commented and disappeared through the door to the left.

"It's just the two of us for a while, miss, how about a chat?" The Mohawk smiles and suddenly turns to you.

"Fuck off." His voice came out hoarse from disuse, his throat slightly scratchy from lack of water. He didn't seem offended, he just laughed.

His smile irritates you, it seems so natural to the whole situation, in fact you shouldn't even be surprised by it. He's probably going to interrogate you, just like the other one did, trying to get information out of you that you don't have, a wave of irritation passes through you, and then that familiar feeling of fear comes over you.

It starts with your stomach, twisting and turning, and then with the shivers that run through your bones, your blood seems to pump faster and everything is suddenly a bit fuzzy, not enough to make you lose consciousness, but enough to bother you and slow down your thinking.

Your fixation seems to drop with every passing second, you had been kidnapped. And you were stuck in this chair, in a little house in the middle of nowhere, with two men, without even knowing where you were. Not that your life with David was wonderful, you didn't like that life, you kept dreaming of going back, opening your own eyes and showing your younger self that that man was a snake, but it was too late and as far as you know they haven't invented a time machine yet, so going back wasn't possible, and moaning about what could have been didn't make sense either.

The mohawk starts talking to you again, but the anxious thoughts talk, and talk, and make you dizzy, until your hands are shaking and your feet are tapping on the wooden floor. And then everything goes dark.

Underground, Pt. 2

Once they return to the Genii homeworld, their poor sense of direction is again highlighted. Sheppard actually says "I prefer a straight line" but what he actually does is the complete opposite of this. And while Rodney teases Sheppard about being lost, he's exactly as lost as he is. They walk unnecessarily close, bumping into each other. They banter. They seem to be real comfortable around each other.

Sheppard, uh. Checks McKay's assets in the barn.

He was actually watching McKay's "six" for real, too. All the team members usually arrange themselves around McKay in some formation likely because he is inexperienced in field work and a valuable asset. Here, Sheppard could have entered the barn in front of Rodney to make sure it's safe, but he opts to trail after the man, guarding him from behind, allowing McKay to lead the way. They are working as a team. Also, Sheppard does go down the hatch first to take the brunt of what ever might be in there. Later on, in the hive, he actually explicitly tells McKay "Okay, I'll cover your six. Go!"

They are having such a good time together that Sheppard actually has to remind McKay that they are there for a reason. He also seems to be continuing to educate McKay on how to act on a mission like he did at the beginning of Childhood's End:

McKay: I'm picking up a strange reading from right over there. Sheppard: Define strange. McKay: You don't know what ‘strange' means? Sheppard: I know what ‘strange' means, Rodney ... McKay: Weird, freakish, odd ... Sheppard: ... I'm just trying to determine whether it's worth getting off the route back to the village.

He calmly explain why he needs to know and needs McKay to be clear about it.

We never see Sheppard teach him about weapons other kind of military training, even though McKay does become somewhat proficient in them over the years. But this we see, Sheppard instructing McKay on what he needs to know when they're on a mission and how communication on the field differs from regular communication.

Then, of course, they get caught. Tell me McKay's first instinct here isn't to grab Sheppard's hand:

In the underground bunker scene, they mirror each other to a ridiculous extent. Once more, a sign of attraction. Even with guns pointed at them, they seems to be in this world of their own having a private conversation. They are also finishing each other's sentences.

Notable is that they're also both trying to keep the other safe, here. Sheppard communicates to McKay through a mere look that he shouldn't reveal all of their cards to the Genii. McKay, on his part, offers up his own know-how in hopes that they will be spared. It's very sweet.

The bit where Sheppard shifts in his seat and licks his lip after McKay tells him that most of his high school chess club could design an A-bomb has been pointed out by many:

Aroused? Maybe. But I've pointed out before that this mouth thing he does when he's feeling some kind of discomfort, it's a nervous tick. While they have been bantering and going back and forth all day, possibly because he's feeling uneasy that McKay has started asserting his intellectual superiority here and while it's mostly directed toward the Genii, Sheppard does receive some of it. He doesn't like it, obviously. It's natural to feel the need to be liked and respected by someone you are attracted to.

We also return to the topic of having children (cf. Childhood's End). Sheppard is worried about the radiation exposure McKay is describing. He tells Sheppard that they're going to be fine, as long as he wasn't planning on having children, clearly jesting. John's reaction is interesting:

His first, purely instinctual response is a nod to Rodney. Subconsciously yes, he does. But then he shakes his head, which is the more measured response. He also seems confused, probably because he can't be 100% sure whether McKay was joking or not. Like he's suddenly thinking at least a dozen things at the same time. Interesting that we keep return to this topic. (Also, there's kind of a ring composition going on between the final season and the first, which is why they return to the topic then).

Related to this, I did wonder about the nature of Cowen and Tyrus' relationship here. Tyrus has a daughter, so the viewer will naturally interpret him as a straight man. However, we never see nor hear any word of Sora's mother. Unlike Tyrus, Cowen has curly hair and Sora's curls are her most notable feature. Cowen very obviously holds her in high regard. But it's the way he sits down, defeated, once they return to the jumper and he finds out that they lost Tyrus, that Tyrus is dead. Like he doesn't think his legs will carry anymore. Clearly Cowen cared very deeply about Tyrus.

And oh, here is the exact moment John Sheppard falls in love (this is during McKay's technobabble about separating different radioactive isotopes which is to say, being completely in his element):

This is when he goes from being interested in and attracted to this strange person that has come into his life to "Oh sh--."

Even when they are in the wraith ship, surrounded by a thousand terrible things and McKay is about to undertake the potentially extremely dangerous task of cutting into its electric wiring, Sheppard can't quite keep his eyes off of him. One would think that cutting into a living ship, something he cannot ever have seen previously, would be pretty interesting and worth looking at. But, uh. Gotta check out the boo first. You have a problem, my friend.

(And let's maybe return to the vagina symbolism of the wraith and the hives at some other time but wow, is it not subtle).

Finally, let me point out a contrast in visual story-telling:

Weir is wearing a skimpy light tank top, Sheppard is wearing a black turtleneck sweater and his hands are folded, a universal sign of a defensive posture. They are alone in a poorly lit balcony outside, so the reason can only be her. They are made to clash, not to complement.

Whereas with McKay and Sheppard, we are not only made to note their similarity here, but also the open body language they have toward one another while having guns pointed at them by bad guys, and while they are inside, underground, in a bunker, the scene is very softly lit.

As already stated, there were so many people involved in making this happen.

Who kills the Demon King of Serenity?

Is Yeseo put under the same fate as Dokja? Do one or both of Cedchris have to kill him? Does someone else he’s close to have to?

I'm not sure if I responded to something similar before but this can go either of two ways.

In the original, I suspect that og!Jesse (Losna) definitely knew what he was doing all along and would have intentionally made himself the next Demon King as per his own self-sacrificial tendencies and desire to protect Christelle and Cédric. Ultimately, he would be killed by a collaborative effort between everyone in their party, but I believe he probably might have wanted Cédric to land the final blow, since he wouldn't have wanted to place that burden on Christelle. Alternatively, Elise also could have done this, too (if you wanna be a bit more TWSB canon compliant haha, as it was Elise who, ultimately, accidentally killed Losna who was shielding Cédric). I think the sibling angst route is really good, but a part of me does prefer Cédric being the final blow..... It's equally angsty and tragic 🥹😫👍 When Cédric regresses it's probably partly because Christelle is so distraught by her close friend's death and sacrifice, and though they definitely don't let his death in vain, I feel at some point Cédric (who was also, of course, fond of Losna, too, even though they were somewhat rivals—he just wont admit it TSK), would want Jesse Losna to ALSO receive a happy ending. Why should Losna be left behind? When he so easily sacrificed himself for the group's advancement? It is unfair.

As for Yeseo's turn, he would probably clumsily try and follow the plot, emotionally driven by his intense homesickness and desire to return back to his siblings. He's probably have it in his head that, if he completes "Jesse Venetiaan's" role to its fullest, he could reach his "ending" and return back home. Of course, this desire becomes a bit wavered due to gardually forming genuine bonds with ChriCed and co., but at the same time, he'd definitely also wish to protect them, too, even if it means hurting them with his death. He'd probably come to understand Losna's mindset during this battle, knowing that it's a necessary evil. If feel, though, that unlike Losna who would have played a dedicated and peaxefully resigned performance as a Demon King, Yeseo woukd struggle more—unwilling to truly hurt his friends, but if he falters and shows weakness, they would, too, and so the fight would probably be even more miserable on both sides than it had been in original Demon King fight with Losna.

I still think Cédric would be the last one to land the blow, but I think it would equally be interesting if it was CHRISTELLE, as Cédric has an undeniable weakness towards Yeseo, and TWSB!Christelle has always been someone who dies what is necessary and pushes forwards. In the QBP round, Christelle would have also fought to her fullest, but Losna knows that deep down, she is also tender hearted, as such his love for her would not allow him to let her deal the last blow, so he leaves it to Cédric—a trusted friend and companion, even though they never outwardly call each other as such.

In the TWSB round/regression, however, I feel like Yeseo would want to protect Cédric's heart more, too. From what Eunseo has told him, he has always thought of Cédric as a cold and arrogant male lead who would do anything for his lover. But the truth is, after Yeseo becomes "Jesse", he would come to learn the full extent of Cédric's softness and subconsciously want to avoid hurting him. In TWSB canon, Yeseo also does express many times not wanting to hurt Cédric, particularly bc he knows how must lost Cédric has gone through as a child. In this AU, he would probably not want to "hurt Cédric" by letting him deal the final blow like in the original, and realizes that Christelle, too, actually has a stronger mental fortitude than Cédric in this case. It is unfair to all parties involved, but Christelle herself would probably even recognize she's the one who'd have to end things before they all hurt each other any further. Like in TWSB, Cédric probably goes berserk after Yeseo dies, and Christelle would do the same as she did in TWSB in this AU, and be the one who ultimately helps him recover from it.

TLDR!!!!!

In the QPB round, Losna's love for Christelle makes him want to avoid hurting her with the burden of his death. So, he passes this responsibility onto Cédric, who is someone who he can trust to support Christelle and the rest of their group in the aftermath.

On the flipside, in the TWSB round, Yeseo's affection and consideration for Cédric and his own traumas, would wish to not add to his burden. As such, he'd naturally turn to Christelle, who he'd recognize was unexpectedly not a mere "Female Lead" archetype who needed excessive coddling, and would come to mutually understand that she could deal with the burden better than Cédric pretends he could.

QBP goes the typical "2nd ML sacrifices himself for FL out of love yet simultaneously wishes to protect her heart so he turns to the ML for assistance", while TWSB is more of a "actually, these people are more than just their FL/ML archetypes, and both are respectively stronger (Chris), and softer (Cédric) than you'd initially expect".

I hope this makes sense!! I'm basing a lot of the TWSB return on ChriCed's actions, characterizations, and headspaces after Yeseo's canon death in the 300s (as well as earlier in the series, during the Pas-de-Trois theatre/opera Arc, where Cédric notably faltered in subduing the Esprit, only because it took on Jesse's form). Anyhow, it's super interesting, and I also love it when the ML and FL archetypes/tropes are turned on their head hahahaha
