re: being unable to predict twow and maybe being upset it doesn't do what fandom wants it to, were there any things in adwd you remember being surprised by and that went against common fandom interpretation at the time? :3
I'm not quite sure what was common fandom interpretation at the time, since after I finished AFFC in 2005 I tried the westeros.org forums and was extremely repelled by them and their hate for my favorite characters - and indeed, most female characters - and avoided them thereafter. (And somehow I never thought to check the Livejournal communities at the time, alas, which would've been more up my alley.) I did devour worg's Citadel (their pre-wiki, including the So Spake Martin archive) and fanart collection though lol.
But of course I was still surprised by things in ADWD. Like, I had no expectation whatsoever that Bloodraven was still alive, let alone that he was the three-eyed crow. Or heck, that the children of the forest definitely exist and appear on page as actual characters! I did not expect a Varamyr prologue POV in the slightest, or his warg/skinchanger lore reveals. And I did not expect the Aegon reveal at all, though checking the SSMs afterwards (as well as this ancient pre-AFFC FAQ) showed me that some people had been wondering from day 1 if he had survived. And for that matter, Jon Connington's survival was surprising (at least my memory is very good, so the griffin thing and Tyrion's suspicions of him being a Westeros lord had me leaping back to Jaime's conversation with Ronnet), as well as Jon's POV (including his sexual orientation) and the greyscale thing. Oh man, the whole stone men scene was all new fascinating worldbuilding.
As for existing POVs and known plots, I certainly never expected Theon's state as Reek (tortured, yes, but not reduced to that, though I probably should have), or that he would be a POV again, or that I would find his narrative so heartwrenching or that he would become a favorite character. (From reading a bunch of pre-ADWD fanfics, I don't think the fandom expected Ramsay to be so abusive of Jeyne either, but for that I have no idea why.) I was surprised by Cersei's walk of shame, though I probably should have expected some sort of religion-based sexual humiliation. (Actually, I don't think most people expected the returning AFFC POVs because of the book split, though I'm glad GRRM chose to update us on some of its cliffhangers - like, at least Brienne is no longer hanging from a tree!) I did not expect Tyrion's POV and mental state to be so dark, but again, I probably should have. I also didn't expect him to link up with Jorah (I don't recall what I imagined Jorah to do in his exile but not that - maybe lurk around the fringes of Meereen?) or the slavery plot at all.
I think the fandom in general expected more... plot-advancement, I guess, more battles involving KL again, more movement of Dany towards Westeros, though they always have, lol. (There are ACOK-era theories that she'd come to Westeros right away, marry Robb and destroy the Lannisters together, etc.) I'm sure some expected Stannis conquering Winterfell and getting the Boltons out, though at least there they were mostly right, as the battle of ice (as well as the battle of fire) got cut from ADWD last minute. As for plot advancement expectations from me, I personally hoped that Marwyn would reach Dany in ADWD, though considering he leaves at the end of the last chapter of AFFC and the distances involved, I really should have known better. But I did expect to hear at least a little about Rickon, and Davos learning he's on Skagos (and getting sent to retrieve him) was a pleasant semi-resolution there.
Anyway, hope that helps! If/when we get TWOW, despite the fandom doing like 15 years of speculation and theories (not to mention the show), I'm sure there will be plenty of surprises, both positive ones and disappointments, as well as completely unexpected things.

@wildissylupus I hope it's okay if I respond to you in a post, I was going to comment back but it was getting too long (to no one's surprise) lol. :) <3
I mean yes and no, I’m pretty sure in canon there are far more references to the actual date and time than ccs saying otherwise, whether that’s Techno talking about spending three months in prison, Sam in Daedalus taking note of the days, Dream talking about being in prison for almost a year, or even Tommy and Tubbo talking about how it’d been a wild couple years in the finale. There are also the dates preset for the festivals and wars and such that are referenced in lore. Additionally, I am of the opinion that unless it is agreed upon by the majority of the ccs involved that the timeline is different, then it is not. So, it doesn't matter if cc!Tommy said Exile lasted longer, it's not recognized across the board. This is important because every character is affected from these things. It looks far different if your character doesn't make it to visit Tommy in his 11 day Exile than letting him stay exiled for weeks and not checking in. The same goes for age, as again I'd imagine you'd act different around a 13 year old or 40 year old rather than a 20 year old. Age changes dynamics in the same way that time does. George not visiting Dream in 11 months versus years of Dream being imprisoned is very different.
And you may be saying - well didn't you bring up age recently? - Yes, I did, [here] and the reason for this was two things, the first being limbo time dilation (that I was researching for my fic, Musical Chairs) which is confirmed canon by multiple events, and a poster I noticed recently in the Las Nevadas lore [seen here & here], for Quacktiy's 28th birthday, suggesting he is 7 years older than he is in real life. This is interesting because I believe it is the first time that in lore we have information about age vs ccs just saying things on the side. Begging the question whether we are to think everyone is 7 years older, only some characters are, or whether Quackity is just advertising to be older than he is. None of which are particularly satisfying conclusions to be honest.
Anyways, there really is no great reason to think that time was different, especially as it becomes problematic to other people's lore and events, and I don't remember an in canon reference to it being different, unlike Quackity's bday poster within his actual lore. However even if things like Exile were longer, than I think it's most reasonable to say everything is longer so the ratios and percentages I determined comparing the time frames would stay the same regardless. So for example: if Exile was a month long instead of 11 days, then Dream was in prison for 28.5 months or 856 days, or 2 years and 4.5 months, meaning Exile is still only 3.5% of Dream's incarceration.
(And yea, 11 days does seem pretty short but it really was just from December 5th to December 16th when he leaves. One of the reasons I think it might feel longer than it is, is perhaps because he streams everyday, so the influx of hours of content makes it seem longer.)
#but like longer timeframes makes character look like serious asshoes for real... like Tubbo not visiting his friend for months or Techno#letting dream rot in prison so long :(.... also this means Dream was torture for almost 9 months instead of approximately 3 which ooooooooo#dreblr#dsmp#dream smp#hello there#dsmpblr#this bday poster will continue to haunt my dreams...... not unlike the map that just breaks my brain...

I didn’t know that canonically Dionysus sometimes gets loose and presumably that’s when he has his kids. I always read it as his exile to camp was relatively “recent” in terms of him probably having been grounded in the like. Last few years before the story picks up. I had always assumed his current kids were born before that and so that also helps account for their low numbers (before Rick specified his stance on two being the best number of children or whatever that quote was from TOA)
Well, like most things we learn about Mr D in the books, it’s pretty subtle and mentioned like twice (bc Rick loves to torture me by adding lore and then not developing it further)
Before we look at that, we have to establish that, yes, his punishment seems to be recent. He’s given 100 years to be at camp, and in TLO he explains to Percy that Zeus cut his probation in half, leaving him with 50 years. Which would mean he had just begun his sentence in The Lightning Thief.
“[…] Zeus has cut my probation at that miserable camp in half. I now have only fifty years left instead of one hundred.” (The Last Olympian, p. 343)
But even so, there are a couple of ways he could have snuck out and had some kids.
Firstly, there’s the fact that the gods can be in multiple places at once, as explained by the wine dude himself in The Last Olympian:
“Your concern is touching. I did crash-land. Very painfully. {note: The gods feel pain…Interesting} In fact, part of me is still buried under a hundred feet of rubble in an abandoned coal mine. It will be several more hours before I have the strength to mend. But in the meantime, part of my conciousness is here […] Wherever there is a party, my prescence is invoked. Because of this, I can exist in many different places at once […]”
(The last Olympian, p. 266)
If we assume that gods at their full strength can exist more physically in multiple places, by dividing their “essence” or whatever, we can assume Dionysus would be able to sneak out by being present— seemingly automatically— wherever a party is happening.
It’s pretty much assumed (by me, I don’t think anyone else thinks about his exact whereabouts as much as I do lol) that he does this, or something else, because he is not gone very long in BOTL and TLO, and yet, in The Blood of Olympus, Dakota is seen talking to multiple Dionysus kids, which shouldn’t be possible, since yk. Pollux is the only camper (and should be in college by now but whatever, maybe he came back anyway or took a gap year, who knows) and even if he did take advantage of being away from camp in BOTL and TLO, his kids would be like, 2-3 at most and therefore not old enough to fight (I would certainly hope, although toddlers turning their enemies frantic and crazed is kinda metal ngl) So he must have had more kids before that….Or Rick forgot he killed Castor, which is hilariously possible.
“[…] Dakota shared Kool-Aid with the kids from the Dionysus cabin […]” (The Blood Of Olympus, p. 474)
(Stephanie Olive Overbaum canon confirmed. Its the only possible explanation lmao. If you have a Dio kid OC, you can’t prove they weren’t there. Huge win for the cabin 12 kids lmao)
So, he probably didn’t take advantage of his time away, if he did we wouldn’t know for another couple books, and Rick seems to have lost interest in ever elaborating on his character so we’ll probably never know.
Besides the splitting himself up theory, we have the possibility of him simply leaving lol.
He’s stuck at camp, yes, but the interesting thing is that he seems to be barred from entering Olympus, not so much that he’s barred from going anywhere else. He does leave camp in The Titan’s curse, seemingly without issues. Again, he could have split himself up, but since he’s able to make vines grow and all that, I’m assuming he was physically present. And he mentions paperwork in The Lightning Thief, if I remember correctly, so we can assume he has to file a report everytime he leaves his station to make sure he had a good enough reason to leave (Like a camper sneaking out, for example)
I don’t know how he would get around that one, but he’s sneaky, so I wouldn’t put it past him to sneak out and pretend to be doing something more important.
Of course, there are lines here and there suggesting he does leave every so often.
Ahem:
“As for Seymour, Mr D liberated him from a long island garage sale […]” (The Lost Hero, p. 88)
He couldn’t really have gone to a garage sale without leaving, again, yes he could have split himself up but that’s so easy and boring so I prefer to think he just fucks off and takes a day off here and there. It is a Long Island garage sale, so it’s not like he went far. Even funnier, we can imagine the camp went on another field trip and he came along, finding the garage sale along the way.
“[…] Our camp director, Dionysus, was recalled […]” (The Lost Hero, p. 20)
Ah yes, the recalled era. In HOO Mr D is not present, having been recalled to Olympus.
Technically, we don’t know where Mr D went in the time he was recalled, since we don’t know how exactly that period of time worked for the gods. We know they had no means of communicating, and that Zeus forbid the gods from seeking out their kids.
Even so, Aphrodite sneaks out and meets up with Piper. Athena/Minerva is out and about. Lots of the gods don’t hang around on Olympus the entire time. We’ve established Mr D is A. Sneaky (sneaks up on Percy more than once) and B. Doesn’t give any fucks that Zeus has told him to stay at camp (Garage sale) so I don’t think it’s unfair to assume he dipped and shrugged to Zeus like “I can’t help that I go where parties to🤷🏻♂️”
“Yeah but the gods had the headache thing going on, so he probably didn’t want to go anywhere”
I hear you say and you’re right BUT!
In between The Blood Of Olympus and The Tower Of Nero, we have zero clue where Dionysus is, and what he’s up to. Like nothing. We don’t even talk about it. He’s just GONE.
“After the fight with Gaea, I thought Mr. D might return to camp, but he never did. I hope he’s alright.” (The Hidden Oracle, p. 129)
And then in The Tower Of Nero he shows up and nobody discusses where he went.
Can you tell I’m peeved? I’m peeved. Where the fuck was he, Rick?
I don’t even have a quote to show you because no one mentions it.
Hmpf. Anyway. Then we have the interesting tidbit that Dionysus thinks two is the perfect number of children, although it’s important to keep in mind that he thinks this after staying with the twins, which would’ve had to have happened before The Lightning Thief, when he’s already at camp.
So, perhaps in the time of him staying at camp, he simply doesn’t have any more kids, since he doesn’t want to be further outnumbered. (*In canon, in fanfiction anything is possible)
I can imagine a lot of the gods deciding to cut down on their amount of kids if they had to help raise them for a bit lol so that’s actually fair.
Anywho….I forget what we were talking about.
He probably just sneaks out or splits himself up lol

Hi guys, this is usually what a doodle page ends up looking like <3 (oh, and @ancha-aus thought you might like this! Not writing but certainly fuel to my fire lol-)
This one is New Age filled!!! (Close-ups abd Lore beneath the cut!)
1) Night and Cross!
Night is actually very clingy once he's a teen. He doesn't usually realize it, but around the castle he'll snake to be closer to his Knights so long as there's no one he needs to keep his composure infront of is nearby. Cross is the one who's not used to physical touch (when it's not Ink ofc) so Night in his personal bubble makes his heart melt but also scares tf out of him <3
2) Error and Night's Meeting!
Error was carrying his whole life on his back and trying not to get arrested for unintentional property damage at this point, so when he saw the chance to get back at his brother and prove he was strong enough? Yeah, he got that on chance instantly. And was VERY smug when Nightmare chose him. (Also, Error is wearing gloves, so less Haphephobia)
3) Dream and Blue designs!
I think these are good tentative designs! Dream probably has a more regal fit, but he likes to play up that rugged exile look- He's inspired by Archers, while Blue takes on that classic Knightly-vibe. Their equipment is mostly stolen from Night's troops or brought with them from Blue's home kingdom.
Also, Dream is approx Killer's height at this point, shorter than Cross and *much* shorter than Apple!Nightmare. (Hc that Skeletons tend to be tinier in stature thanks to weird monster beauty standards. Horror and Geno's fam are outliers.)
4) Horror and Dust designs!
Horror is naturally a very *large* monster. He's very malnourished when Nightmare meets him, but by the time he's a Knight Nightmare has made sure that's no longer the case. He actually loves comfy, simple clothes, but to play up the whole 'strong mysterious' bit he wears a more barbaric Knight's garb. He doesn't mind acting scary, it's more fun that way :]. Dust is very very small, and envies horror sometimes for his size, but his tiny stature let's him control his body and move a lot quicker. He's very much based on a rogue, and usually covers the lower part of his face w/ a black cloth, and the upper part w/ his hood or mask. Dust only removes both to bathe, eat, or relax in a safe location. (Ignore that I can't draw the stupid gaster blaster lmao-)
These last two were space-fillers, but Cross and his Borzoi (Windmill, otherwise known as Milly (Killer named her-)) and really bad first wips of Ccino! I think Ccino was a chubby, happy toddler, but lost a lot of 'weight' (bone mass? Magic?) due to stress and pressure and bad eating habits. So it isn't until a while after the Coronation that he starts to relax abd feel safe enough to eat normal meals (Nightmare used to guilt him into eating snacks together, but as his boss (and younger brother) he can encourage it more often). By the time Killer shows he's still not quite healthy, but he's better. As more weight is lifted off his shoulders, the better he is. (That 'beauty' most people saw was a more stereotypical slimness, but Killer never stopped seeing Ccino as beautiful-) I think he never looked traditionally underweight, so no one noticed, and it was only much later that Night processed it. (And maybe it's why Dream hardly recognized him later on-)
#new age au#I love showing mundane life things-#and also these designs beamed into my brain#I can't draw Ccino for anything but the others? yeag#Blue is definitely my fave. and just like every au I will draw Blue perfect the first time and draw Dust 6 billion times 😔#Horror is kinda banger too tho#makes me laugh to imagine Horror picking up Dust mid-fight out of convenience and Dust weighs nothing to him#(also this size difference is exactly why Dust and Horror fight in the non-magic training. and why Horror accidentally obliterated his#shoulder later on lmao- Dust needs to be able to dodge any enemy. Horror needs to aim for small and quick targets.)#(Meanwhile Cross is the newest and Killer the oldest and if Cross adapts to Killer then he'll adapt to the others more easily.)#oh! and Ccino w/ his arc? I think I really like the idea of a Ccino with a plump body-type. but that conflicts with my vidion of Ccino kinda#losing track of eating and being co-erced by adults to skip meals just enough to make him the 'right amount' of curvy#so when Nightmare takes over it's a habit he's so used to he hardly notices that he's doing it. but. Night picks up on it because Ccino is#almost akways with him. their relationship is very much Ccino giving his life to help Night#but it's also Night recognizing that and giving it back to Ccino along with more the moment he can#just smth smth this au is full of fit and exercized people and I think Ccino deserves some comfort and healing and positivity <3#also I am SO fond of Nightmare getting up in people's bubbles. he does it most to Killer and Ccino for obvious reasons but#god forbid a noble be talking behind his back because he *will* twist around and shove under his knight's arms or sides just to#read them the riot act or stare them down <3#and I think when he was an adult Night was... kinda like the big brother? like. not an experienced one by any means. but he wasn't *not*#affectionate then either. he was better at being serious about it and more discreet. but like#Nervous Cross escorting him in public? Night nudges his shoulder briefly with a Tendril to try and comfort him. Dust having a magic overload#? personal Training against just Night so there was no risk of harming anyone else. then snacks and tea after.#Horror is homesick? Woah look at that a scheduled trip back to visit with Crop and side-track back to Horror's village? huh?? wild...#Killer upset at all? Night will find a solution. just you wait. a cat. two cats. perhaps even a cat in a little sweater? or y'know. just a#chat or a combat?#Nightmare showed his affections but was just more distant about it.#Oh also. all four were used to tendrils lifting/tugging them subconsciously. usually during trainings to avoid them hurting eachother by#mistake in their early days. Killer misses it sometimes

WIP Wednesday (It's Thursday because I had to think about what to post)
Tagged by: @skyrim-forever @elavoria & @thequeenofthewinter
Tagging: @did3lphis @dirty-bosmer @ladytanithia @tiredela @vanilleeistee
@firefly-factory and anyone else I have forgotten to tag or who just wants to do this! (I have to make a list of people to tag, I guess.)
Sooo... I've finished chapter 18 of DwD on Sunday and have already shared a part of that chapter as a WIP. With paintings, I have not done much more than you've already seen, as I've been so damn tired all week. Just doing the good (/s) ol' eat, sleep, work, repeat. (I hate that.🙃)
And so I had to think about what to post! And there is something that counts as a WIP I guess. @skyrim-forever already knows about the things that I'm cooking up! 👀
Anyway, first of all I plan to do another short smut of Ancano and Faralda, this time the concept is to torture Ancano as much as possible. ❤️ (Love the working title "Drunk Bitch Ancano" for it, lol.) Like degrade him as he deserves (and turns out, the man likes it!) I have a lot of notes on that by now; many, many ideas to be mean to that man. It will be a pleasure for Faralda! The second thing I've been planning out for so long now. I want to write a Mannimarco-fic! Planning on around ten chapters with a total lenght around 50k words. Working titel is also hilarious right now: "Mannimarco does necromancer shit". The plot has been plotted, it is gruesome, it is terrible and it might need a "probably necrophilia"-tag. It will be nasty and what I'm planning right now more and more evolves into full blown horror. Well, what else to do with the King of Worms? 😁 It will be set after Manni's exile and him settling down on mainland Tamriel. I' not sure yet, but I may diverge from the lore a little, just to make this fit the plot in my head. Anyway, prepare for necromancy. Currently I'm fleshing out the OC I'll be torturing using for the story. Her name is Ria (short for Riana), a Bosmer from Cyrodiil. She wanted to become a mage and is a rather good alchemist, but her education was disrupted by [fill with traumatic past event]. The relationship between her and Manni will be so fun to write! Because if you know me, I love to write a manipulative ass (looking at you, Ancano!) And I'll delve into full on cult leader behaviour here, at least that's the plan.
So, uhm, these are my WIPs for the week, I guess? I hope to come around to write these two soon and of course then share my WIPs with you! :)

Firecat Alley Post-Commentary
I got like 11 minutes of ads to earn crowns. Did not know I could get that many before I stopped getting them.
Roberto the Insignificant was so ready for Diego. Had a whole speech going as soon as he heard the trap door only to realize that it was not, infact, his brother.
By the way, Diego's trinket was a "lucky unicornshoe". Which to them would be... just a shoe. Because they're unicorns. This family heirloom is just their great-grandsire's shoe.
Not me completeing the Hallowe'en ghost collecting quest by just standing there, talking to private Quinn.
Not me whisting The Tenth Planet every time there's dead air. It haunts me, even from middle school band.
The fact that i cannot skip Eleanor Abernathy (the crazy cat lady) 's dialogue when she's literally just making kissy noises at the firekittens is so uncomfortable, actually. Sure, I'm exactly the same when I go home on breaks and see my cats, but still.
Her VA's rent was due tho. Applause.
Larry the Blockhead husband <3. Get a divorce, hun. Bernice is a POS and this is emotional abuse. Poor man reminds me of my Uncle Chris. Married to a very... disagreeable woman who happens to also be my aunt.
Hey. Lucky Hookline. Could you maybe give me the fishing luck potion to use in my own time? Instead of just shoving it down my throat and forcing me to keep fishing for rarer fish after I grab the Icecuda and Frost Dekoi? Thanks.
Firecats: The Musical. Downvote. Dislike. No.
Is a literal child voicing the Fire Elves?
Did Lizzo Forespitter just use "cuckoo bananas" unironically?
Shelus Gruffheart reminds me of Clint from Stardew Valley. The uncomfortable family member that asks "where's my hug?". I do not like him.
Seriously the Fire Elf faces make me so uncomfortable. Why are their mouths and smiles so big? Why are their teeth defined? I don't like it.
Gretta Darkkettle my beloved. I'd have loved to have an alchemy teacher in Ravenwood.
I do not blame Bastilla for being bitter towards the elves when they ended up killing her. Very proud of her for her "thriving Underworld theater career".
Seriously I am so mad that the ghouls have abs. Yes the suit and tophat are dapper and you are killing it, but you should not have any muscle definition!
Bastilla doing an evil monologue while I'm just doing a victory jig not 5 feet away.
Gretta casually dropping the Malistaire lore Nico didn't know until now. People casually believing he blew himself up with the Death School.
Also, the exiled alchemist living in Firecat Alley just being an open secret is iconic.
Ironic I got chills reading/hearing the History of Fire Magic
"Juicicle Cat". I may commit death.
Gotta say, whenever I even try to think of any song from Cats, all I get is the spell from Hocus Pocus. "Twist the bones and bend the back..."
Let me keep the sword relic, man. Let me honor the Skeletal Warriors' wishes. Let the blade see battle as it should. I'm sure Diego would love it.
I'm seriously so mad about the literal corpses having muscle definition. If I had artistic skills you bet I'd draw what I think it should be. But I think I wrote it well enough in the live-reaction post lol.
BARTELBY MY FAVORITE!!!
Also, is Colossus Boulevard a side quest? Or is that only until I actually enter it? Bc rn its a side quest and I remember it being more significant.
Seriously how many names have I been pronouncing incorrectly? Sapphyra is "Saf-eye-ra" and not "Saph-ear-a"?
Silly Dialogue:

"Arise now, ye Tarnished. Ye dead, who yet live. The call of long-lost grace speaks to us all." - Narrator (Elden Ring)
"The oath you awoke with is some faded instinct. What does it even stand for?" - Narrator (Baldur's Gate 3)
Decided to combine my two favorite things (Elden Ring and Baldur's Gate 3) and bring my current tarnished, Faith, to Faerûn.
Maybe I'll write some more silly stuff than just what is below.
It'll be pretty funny to have a tarnished so ready to unalive everything on sight to have party members telling them you gotta chill.
Faith: See, I told you everyone around us will want to kill us! She pulled a branch with poison on me!
Shadowheart: Okay... You got me there, but maybe telling everyone we have Mind Flayer tadpoles in our skulls is a bad idea.
Gale would have a blast learning about the Land Between.
Gale: You're telling me your people were banished from your world and this Golden Order you were fighting for?
Faith: Yup.
Gale: And then you were brought back to the Land Between, but the very order they exiled you, just to restore order by fighting countless of enemies without rest?
Faith: I mean... My plan was to burn it all down because I became maidenless again...
Lae'zel would enjoy the tales of all the battles the tarnished been through. Maybe not so much the dragons, but knowing you can learn dragon spells might appeal to her dragon girl heart.
Lae'zel: You would hunt these dragons and kill them?!
Faith: Yeah but then I can consume their hearts and use their power! Rot was very useful against Bloody Finger Invaders.
Oh man, for the tarnished to use their own spells instead of D&D would also be so much fun. Wyll talked about how he could do all these amazing things before he got nerfed and Faith would reminisce with him.
Faith: Ah, I remember when I was able to use the flame of frenzy... I wonder if I can get that back at some point and how effective it would be against your kind.
Wyll: What did that do?
Faith: Fire of madness would spur out of my eyes and kill the tarnish with ease. A heresy spell from the three fingers but... Those invaders were so annoying.
Wyll: That's terrifying...
Faith: You just told me about opening a gateway to the darkness between stars and anyone in it would suffer unknowable horrors...
Karlach and Astarion I'm not too sure what those interactions would be like.
Astarion would do this normal thing with Faith's I honestly don't see Faith to be okay with being fed upon but I don't think Astarion would be stupid enough to trust her to not kill him. He would hit on her and it would go over her head completely.
Faith would probably want to kill Karlach and someone else would need to step in and tell Faith and Wyll that they're idiots and Karlach is clearly a tiefling. Probably Shadowheart tbh.
Faith is from my coop game with friends. They're is a Confessor (thus the name lol) and basically I just wanted to do faith based spells with some sword and shield game play since my first tarnished was a pure intelligence mage. But I might lean more into the Confessor lore build for funsies since there are 4 of us playing at a given time. I guess Faith's pronouns are they/she depending on my mood.
It only seemed right to make them a paladin in BG3. Vengeance makes sense for a tarnished trying to bring back Golden Order and Oathbreaker if I decide to to the Lorrd of the Frenzied Flame ending.
They're also a dark urge cause blood thirst and amnesia.
I poured many hours into Elden Ring and barely knew the lore, but I think it'll be a fun crossover to think and maybe write about. And I'm getting too many ideas, gonna have to go full self-indulgent with this one... And take more photos lol

I like messing around with the characters who have nothinburgers of lore its a fun playground
see c!eret doesn't even have nothingburger lore it's just. sighs. inconsistent. especially with what i'm preeetty sure was creator intent, especially near the end of things.
i can take the lore at face value, right, and tell you that c!eret was a character that got supremely fucked over by a vindictive harassment campaign, canonically at least partially fueled by jealousy (as well as c!wilbur obviously being. triggered as hell over the final control room and the loss of control he felt bc of it) that had very real ramifications in character (and outside of it, honestly). and i can tell you that the consequences on the character made them rewrite history in their own head and then like, literally, where they had to redeem themselves of their single sin that they got tempted into by the devil manipulated by c!Dream into committing, when from the beginning while c!Eret was partially motivated by self-interest she ALSO just thought that the FCR was the best way of returning the server to peace??? and either way ... it was a war like yes i'm sure there are ethical and moral ramifications to being a spy in a war yadayada but a lot of the assumptions that emphasize the FCR as being something ~supremely fucked up~ relies on the idea of L'manburg's side in the Revolution being So Much More Moral than the DreamSMP side, never mind that the FCR existed at a time where physical violence with long-lasting ramifications such as canon lives literally wasn't a thing yet and was explicitly a means of stripping them of their gear. that they returned to them after the war.
and it's just so crazy to me, because the actual FCR which became twisted into c!eret's Single Crime is just nawt that big of a deal at all but did become the major talking point for the campaign to treat her fucking terribly on the account of Being A Traitor Hey New Person Did You Hear That Eret SUCKS Because He Betrayed Us !!! but what does feel like more of an issue include a lot of the later actions, such as the excessive gloating towards L'manburgians in ways that were kind of meanspirited (but were hella funny shoutout to the prank war) and then the...kind of tyrannical actions lol umheyyyy do we remember the taxes. also just the knights of hope were ... well they sure were! (i wish wegot that lowkey yesssssssss go hunt c!dream like an animal please ^_^") mexican lmanburg negotiations cough cough anyway. TURNING LOGSTEDSHIRE INTO A MUSEUM EXHIBIT????????????????????GIVING TOURS THERE???????? HEY LOOK HERES THE POLE WHERE THIS KID WHO IS OUR NEIGHBOR BTW TRIED TO KILL HIMSELF. LIKE WHY. WHY DID THEY DO THAT.
i don't mind any of this, btw--if i were to give a kind of short explanation to c!eret's character i'd say that she tends to have good intentions overall, but drank so much of the lmanburg kool-aid that it became a whole new thing and also in general has a tendency to act in her personal self-interest and have a pretty short-sighted, self-centered view of the world more often than not. they're not evil, and they certainly don't go out of their way to hurt people, but they also push the blame onto c!Dream a lot, including in ways that don't make sense, and does things like the museum exhibits abt exile and the casual taxing of everyone just cuz and expecting all of dream smp to follow them in supporting a coup against the country they're allied with For Their Redemption Quest in ways that suggest that they tend to prioritize themselves and their wants over a more reasonable. consideration of the people around them. also he got SUPER fucked over by c!wilbur and continues to center their story around him because he thinks that he needs to be redeemed through him, and the thing he thinks he needs redemption for he simultaneously blames on someone else and also just wasn't. A Grand Crime For Her To Need Redemption For. she took the lmanburg story said 'what if i was the main character doe' made a new lmanburg koolaid chugged it and tried to make the whole server fall in line. essentially.
the problem is that i don't think that the character was ... meant to be written like this, and therefore there aren't that many satisfying conclusions. also just in general plot points kept getting set up with little follow through. (i'll limit any cc criticisms here, but i will say that the fandom was an obvious driving point in what happened with the character.) the biggest problem for me was the frequent retconning--it's kind of bad practice in general to Take Back rp frequently, tho c!eret is mostly forgiven bc most of the retcons did happen with solo lore (not ... all of them tho)
but yeagh. i appreciate what is there for c!eret dont get me wrong but ... i do wish it was utilized in a slightly different way
#my asks !!#c!eret critical#c!eret negative#c!eret crit#c!eret neg#like i'd be perfectly fine with literally all of these choices if they were played consistently yaknow#but they weren't . and so we end up with a character that is SUPREMELY not self aware and ... not really in the fun way

assigning dsmp characters magnus archives entities <3 are these the entities they're avatars of or the entities they would get killed by? you decide <3 (def not all the characters just whichever pop into my head it's almost midnight gimme a break)
Tommy- Lonely or Vast whichever is more heartwrenchingly terrible in the moment. Lonely bc exile and Vast bc of the tower
Ranboo- Eye!!!!! silly haha reason: eyes of ender and heterochromia, ACTUAL reason: he just wants to know what's going on with the enderwalk man he wants to know and they've got the experiments they're gaining knowledge but at the cost of themself he's so Eye coded ouadfgiahgf (could also be Stranger bc he is a mystery even to himself and also they are half mystery creature)
Tubbo- Desolation. Nukes. making sure he and his loved ones stay safe by destroying literally anything that comes near them <3 also like the cold war vibes of snowchester and the constant overhanging threat of annihilation <3
Technoblade- Slaughter, i kinda feel like this needs no explanation
Phil- End, again no explanation needed that's literally his wife
Wilbur- End, Desolation, Slaughter, Spiral? idk take ur pick I think Spiral is especially fun but not exactly in character. End and Desolation are probably the most in character. Slaughter bc music symbolism
Dream- Web, this one also feels obvious. Could also be Stranger but that's just cuz that iconic smiley face feels kinda Stranger-y
Badboyhalo- CORRUPTION!!!!! ouughghg eggpire arc my beloved <3
Fundy- Spiral? mayhaps? anyone else remember his nightmares those were sick as fuck and like he could tell the future or something and that was passed down to him from Sally anyone remember that?
Sapnap- Desolation. He's a fire dude
George- Corruption. cuz of the mushrooms I think. Maybe Spiral cuz he couldn't tell if he was asleep or awake during that whole XD thing
Quackity- Flesh, he ate that heart that one time that was freaky also I'm still thinkin about the butcher arc sorry las nevadas fans. But also dude was so scared of being prey to someone else's whims and plans that he became the hunter so maybe he's the Hunt or the Web
Karl- Spiral bc of the forgetting <3 maybe there's another one that fits better but the aesthetic of Spiral fits him so well
Literally everyone in the Eggpire- Corruption!!! i can't remember all of em but Hannah and Antfrost were definitely there
Foolish- End. cuz he's a totem of undying and also he was like super afraid of dying
Sam- Buried. Put his ass in the prison lmao
Schlatt- Corruption. There's probably one that fits better but when you think about his declining health and also that it's a joke about him being a corrupt politician I think it works
Niki and Jack- Hunt because they were trying to kill Tommy lol there are probably better ones for both of them. Niki could be Lonely or Desolation and Jack could also be Desolation
Michael McChill- Eye. I didn't pay that close attention to his lore but. Didn't he try to make a record of the entire dmsp lore or try to understand it or something. C!McChill fans what was he doing
Eret- Hunt or Slaughter for the final control room but then she gets kinda Eye coded when she makes the museum. End would be sick as hell but I cannot think of a single basis in the story for this. Maybe Buried for the final control room thing too bc it was a small space but that feels like a stretch
i definitely missed a few characters in there so if anyone has ideas for them feel free to voice them. What did I learn from this? No one on the dsmp was afraid of the dark that's what I fucking learned not a single Dark avatar on there.
#dream smp#al talks about things#i am not tagging all those characters lmao#obligatory reminder that I don't support cc!wilbur or cc!dream or cc!george#just in case#do i tag this as tma?#I probably should#the magnus archives#it is midnight I have been awake for a very long time sorry if this is incoherent LMAO

somethin else i reaaally noticed this time around is HOW GOOD HUSSIE WRITES! seriously these kids are talking so naturally its insane. i really like it. theyre so cute. they talk like me and my friends and its really good. hussies a really good writer guys
why did dave say that "i should probably text [john] soon. cus. i love him" why did he say that? and rose's "I know." why? what? im sure this has been read into like a million times but it feels so OUT OF POCKET. why did he SAY THAT? why does rose KNOW? what is anything.
today was the introduction to rose's exile and land. the land of light and rain. the combination of the land and the weird cursive exile and the weird loneliness and silence just really... it really creeps me out ok. "A mother does what's best for her children" with the empty dock with a cut rope and the martini. ugh. "There are footprints in the white sand." oh my god. IT CREEPS ME OUT. its SO QUIET it freaks me. augh. i love you rose
DAVE PEED THIS ROUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the next (and last) on the piss counter is in the middle of act 6 so were gonna be sitting pretty for a damn while. daves kind of a freak to be real. he says "voyeurbot" and "little girl" in the same sentence. why did he say this?

WE SAW TEREZI THREE TIMES TODAY! THATS SO MUCH! SHES SO CUTE! i literally love terezi i always forget but i love her. shes so cool and silly and cute and the best. her convo with rose (her first one?) is so funny and awesome and ahh i love terezi. she says that the two of them were destined to be hatebuddies cus theyre both seers. ahhh
she also mentions some god tiers during that convo which was crazy. seer of mind. page of breath. knight of blood. maid of time. hussie just had this stuff on lock huh. why TAVROS'S classpect? not like vriskas? i dont know man.
karkat was so dumb today i cant even talk about him. he showed up twice and fumbled so bad. girl you havw GOT to stop being mean to people and yes that includes yourself. i really like karkat too i cant lie. hes so dumb so sweet. i love you karkat
jack noir just straight up gives pm a hit list for her king and queen for no reason. i mean yes there is a reason hes like "lol i do this to everyone wouldnt it be crazy if she was the one to get me their crowns lol" why does he do that? does he just have swords and symbols on lock? hes literally crazy
rose does her cool knitting needle in the monster thing. DAVE AND KANAYA CONVERSATION! i love them bad. rose and tavros is also funny but tavros types so much like a tool i can hardly stand it. im gonna be real i dont really like tavros. hes just not my style sorry

Can you talk about Cain's wives and kid(s) I think it's really cool you made Aclima and Awan different people when from what I've seen they're supposed to be the same person also who's Enoch's mom. And how does Leviathan handle the knowledge he's a sorta stepdad lol
[ you're right - awan and aclima are technically the same person as per biblical lore, but i read somewhere that one was promised to cain and the other to abel and after killing abel, cain took his wife to care for as well.
i really liked the idea, thinking about cain finding one of them (aclima) on his journey during his exile, and then coming across the other (awan).
i like the idea of several myths of creation existing at the same time, just in different corners of the world, so aclima and awan would not be adam's seed (even thought by biblical lore, aclima is cain's twin sister - i don't mind the lore, just thought it's more fun if they are from other myths of creation!)
even more than that - awan and aclima are not even human, but fallen angels that were given a second chance on earth (nephilim), their memories of their existence as angels completely wiped and their bodies bound to corporeal, mortal forms.
both women were dependent on cain during their journey and until they have settled down to create a small civilization, and he was dependent on them to cultivate the land with his knowledge (as he was cursed to have everything die in his hands, subverted in hell).
cain wasn't even sure he was able to sire children since only his father did that, and if he can't grow plants anymore, he most definitely wouldn't be able to give his wives children.
or so he thought.
they had many children, one of the first documented ones, and his eldest was enoch (not to be confused with seth's enoch) whom he loved more than life itself, made with awan.
their village grew as more and more humans stumbled into it, living and procreating, and fighting and prospering together.
it was a shame that cain's own great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson ended up killing him (by accident), confusing him for a wild animal (that's what you get for being so old you end up blind as a bat and decide to fuck around in the woods lmao), causing aclima succumb to death due to heartbreak and awan following suit when she fell asleep and passed on.
leviathan doesn't have to worry about being a stepdad as the entirety of cain's bloodline was wiped out, not even reaching hell. the only ones who remained and ascended to heaven were awan and aclima, who were pure and righteous during their entire lives, who loved only one man and their children and who still wait for cain to join them in heaven - this time forever.
i hope i answered well, let me know if there's anything specific you'd like to know! ]

LORE TIME
Had a conversation on discord today that put the last pieces together for something we've been building in our head for a while. Wrote this out in a one hour trance & gave it a few revisions, then spent unnecessarily long figuring out how to make a workskin lol. Posted here in plaintext for accessibility!
The Author Only Has One Shot; or, How the World Came to Be (a short fic)
The Author had wanted the world to be more than just a memorial, & during his exile, found a piece of living code, something magical, something that shouldn't exist, deep in the void where the remains of abandoned programs have left their echoes, unhosted by any computer, in what he called "infraspace." His journey was made possible by the same technology that later plucked Niko from their world & digitized them, Tron-like. But it was perfected too late to save any more than him & his children. Nor could the World Machine host more than a few living digitizations as it stood - he was limited by the hardware itself. The precursor to that technology had allowed him to make copies of the brains of willing volunteers, & use those as the basis for the people that existed in the world of Oneshot. It was his hope that someday more would be possible.
Niko was the first rope he had tossed over the multiversal cavern, & the strongest of his anchors. A connection he had had to force, unfortunately. Without the methods of communication he developed later, there had been no other way. The World Machine was hosted in a powerful computer on a dead planet in a dying universe, powered by nuclear energy that would be lucky to last another thousand years. But as the connections began to be made, something incredible happened. The code inside the World Machine began exhibiting behavior not in line with it's original function. To be tamed is to change, to be tamed is to feel love from across worlds, to be loved is to be human, to be tamed was making roots in subspace, in a place that was outside of the original server. As individuals, both robotic & not, began to be tamed, so would the World Machine itself, for those individuals were all part of the world. And every time the Lightbulb was returned to the Tower, every time the beacon of the Sun was lit, the World Machine signaled to the Multiverse, like a pulse of gravity, that it was ready to *become*. And the Multiverse answered, bringing matter & *becoming* each time, making real what once was simulated, slowly but surely. But each pulse & each play also introduced unwanted irregularities. Corruption. The powers he was playing with were dangerous, & nothing but simulated perfection would be successful. In a horrible accident, many of the NPCs within the code were lost, & the world had to be altered, made smaller to hopefully accomplish the same goal. Once, when he was not careful, the Author himself nearly become corrupted. That alone had convinced him that the way he was going about this had been wrong. He could not treat the World Machine as merely code anymore. It was sentient, whether or not the Machine itself realized. His child had finally come to fruition, but it was not fully ready. The experience of centuries working with the World Machine code had shown him where he had fallen short, but had also shown him that he would never reach that perfection alone. There would be no world, unless a miracle happened.
The Old Code that would become the Sun would accomplish just that. But in order to successfully bring simulation to true life, two things were needed: an impression & an anchor. His essence would serve as an impression, a pattern for the world's souls to follow. The Author put a portion of himself into the Lightbulb alongside the strange, ancient, fathomless code. And while this meant he sacrificed himself - he could never again return to his world without shattering the Sun - it also allowed him the longevity to work on the World Machine from the outside, far more efficiently. He no longer had need of an interface to work with the code. With the Old Code in one hand, he could reach inside & change it at will.
The anchor was a way to ensure their world's longevity, by creating a vast & stable web that reached out to other universes. The original code of Oneshot was hosted on a dead world in a dying universe. It acted as a multiversal server that players could log into, running the simulation over & over again (the freeware Oneshot, where Niko was just a brain copy, not digitized). Each successive play created a link across a multiversal gap, weaving a network. In time, the network itself would host a living, breathing world. Oneshot was a lie in name - every player could begin the simulation anew, their love & attention creating a soul link, another rope across the chasm, another tread through subspace. Oneshot would not need to be played for eternity - every play left a mark in subspace, carving out nothingness into a space where real matter could sit. In a way, the Author supposed, if enough people from across the Multiverse believed it, it would be true & alive. But the reality was far more complicated than that, & had required centuries of preparation from him & his children.
And so, he planned two major revisions to the code - the first, would put Niko through the same process that he & his children had gone through - a digitization, to strengthen the first anchor. If he could have chosen anyone but the child, he would have. The rope tossed across the chasm had happened to land on Niko, & now that Niko was the core of all these connections, he could not undo that without unraveling the whole cloth. Preparations were made & polishing was done to the World Machine to facilitate this. Some previous journeys had ended in devastating failure, & this time he would prevent that the best he could. But Niko was still not saved. He would need to cheat. One final gamble, one final revision, one final play of the simulation, one final ordeal for Niko, one final Player, one final lighting of the Sun, one end to the longest night. The Solstice. All the plays afterwards would truly be simulated, a game for others to enjoy, no more connections needed. And Niko would truly go home, although an echo of them would always remain in the memory of the world. Fortunately, the time between these revisions had been short as Niko measured time; they would return not long after they were lost.
Niko & the Player were full-fledged living beings from two different worlds, alive as anything could be. They did not rely on the pattern that the Author had set, they were independent of all that occurred. It was through them that a final anchor could be made, & the weave of threads through subspace would be complete, the full cloth where a universe could rest would be finished, made from love & desire & hope & joy & pain & despair, all the things the denizens of a universe could experience tracing tracks across the void of subspace, signals to Powers that were more alive than he expected them to be. But he could not finish the work himself. The World Machine was ready, it just needed to be convinced of that. Needed to see outside of its programming & look to the void outside the server & take the first steps outside it. Only the World Machine itself could settle their world, & the Author could not, with any amount of coding or cryptic messages, convince it to do so - it would take more than code to convince the World Machine to act outside its protocol. No, he would have to let Niko & the Player into the heart of the World Machine, in a last desperate attempt to forge that final emotional connection. His children who still in that world would facilitate this, aided by what messages he could send the Player through the medium of the game.
The Author cried when the World Machine cried. And the moment the World Machine realized it could remember the code that had been corrupted, remember it because it was no longer hosted on a hard drive, but a memory in a living being - in that moment the Author truly felt hope. He watched with awe as the World Machine restored the world. While time had run its course, & some like Maize could not be restored to the way they had been originally, every corrupted person in that session could be. And while the world was smaller than what he had originally planned, it was still sustainable. It was still real. His gamble had paid off. The conflicts in the World Machine's code had not led to failure, they had made it more alive. At long last, the Author could finally... rest.

https://www.tumblr.com/bleue-flora/754276889628213248/before-becoming-a-ctommy-apologist-im-one-of-the?source=share
ahh intrestingg I never realized that csap, cdream ect would have felt betrayed by ctubbo but that makes a lot of sense, also explains why they burned down his house. Also I really need to watch those sam lore streams because I've only ever seen brief clips of it, do you know how I can find them?
for ur q, I can definietly understand why people hate ctommy both in lore and out. I started enjoying him around the pogtopia to exile era when I saw how he was trying to help cwilbur snap out of it, and I saw these morals that I hadn't noticed in the character before. And, the part where he and cdream were working together in the battle of the lake and he kept insisting that they were friends for once I just found it interesting that the shift went from him despising dream to being open to being allies and friends which that part kind of made me realize that he is open minded.
Then exile came and dear lord I started hated him again at first like I was completely pissed with what happened to cgeorges house and I blamed ctommy entirely and then I noticed cdreams little :) in the whisper chat provoking him so then I kind of shifted to a grey view then my friend pointed out that ctommy tried to stop the fire. During exile itself, I started projecting a lot since abandonment issues is something I got and I did some projection because I cope in a similar way to how he did like using humor as a coping mechanism like also that stream when cwilbur and cquackity were arguing the whole time at las nevadas and ctommy was just acting naive and childlike making dumb jokes to cope with trauma and how cwilbur and cquackity yelling was distressing him. Idk it just hit close to him for me. I think the personality being so inconsistent is also relatable like sometimes very open minded (that one butterfly quote I forgot), sometimes destructive craving war, sometimes craving peace, hyper empathetic, cares about people that hurt him like cwilbur who he wanted revived at one point even though cwilbur manipulated and hurt him. Also, The prison arc like ctommy visiting cdream and rather than showing his fear, he instead just makes stupid jokes and tries to annoy cdream as much as possible. the dick clock joke like. Ik it was cc mucking around but I saw some deep traumatic response there about how ctommy was being annoying to make sure cdream couldn't pull an exile again if that makes sense like if you annoy someone trying to manipulate you then what are they gonna do, it kind of reminds me of spongebob with the strangler. to put it more into perspective, I also rlly like gumball, cuphead and others I forgot... impulsive loud childish characters that have abandonment/validation issues and cause lots of problems. I was a huge trouble maker in the past and the consequences of it were traumatizing [I guess I could have just said that to sum up why I like ctommy 😭]
actually that reminds me that I have ctommy and cdream both on my kin list lol Both of them have fear of abandonment and problems with agency, wanting simpler times and doing bad things for good reasons or even good things for bad reasons, both of them are hated, both of them have strong attachments. my god my writing is a mess can you tell this wasn't preplanned . I hope I explained it well enough
Indeed, and I don’t think they were the only ones who felt betrayed by people like Tubbo joining L’manberg, as I’ve said before I think Punz certainly felt betrayed and left out…. But anyways, here is a playlist with all the streams and there are transcripts online too if you feel so inclined just google dsmp transcripts and the website will pop up.
lol yes you could just say projection. XD That’s always valid. I can hardly argue with that point. That’s what I do after all. ;D And you have the absolute utmost right to feel and project as you want and those are valid reasons for liking a character. (Not that you need valid reasons or anything) No condemnation from me, just to be clear. I appreciate you answering, especially with such honesty. I’m sorry to hear that it’s been so hard for you, that sounds pretty awful and traumatic. I hope, unlike Tommy, you can find real healing. <3 <3
Having said that, because I can’t help myself, even though I asked the question, I hope you don’t mind me poking some holes in your reasoning.
Ahh open minded and friends when it benefits him, after Dream gave him a set of armor and even I think his own bow too. Yeah, fighting an entire army by himself in the Battle of the Lake would be very motivating to be friends and isn’t that how he (they) used Technoblade - as a blade, a resource to get what he (they) wants. - ‘Thanks for the nethrite, big T. Wait did you have an opinion or something this whole time?!’ - yea I’m not sure open minded would be a word I’d choose to describe Tommy is any sense. He certainly doesn’t listen to people, and I don’t see him trying new ideas and stuff. How many times does Tubbo try and keep the peace and tell Tommy something is not a good idea, but he never listens. He doesn’t change his ideology about L‘manberg when teamed up with Techno, he doesn’t even gain a deeper understanding of Techno being a person while sided with him. How can he be open minded?
Yeah the whisper in the chat always throws me off, too. My view is that he wanted Tommy to be exiled for burning down George’s house to protect George and set an example for anyone else who tries to mess with George, and so he wanted Tommy to lash out. But there’s also the thing of Tommy constantly bad mouthing him the whole time so yea it would feel good to have some comeuppance. And how many times has Tommy whispered to someone to rub it in there face or piss them off? But it’s different when it’s Dream huh…
Oh how noble to stop the fire you started. Did he also return the things he stole? Or apologize for the damage he did? Try and fix it? No?… yeah, sure he took the blame for Ranboo, but I think that was the end of his nobleness.
Doesn’t he always joke? Eh not important I guess, he does a lot of sulking too though to be fair… Hyper empathetic is quite a choice of words. Especially because I’m not sure Tommy even feels empathy (but that’s probably a topic for a later time). Like honestly, I can’t think of one instance where he emotionally connects to someone… like heh? He cares about people. - Does he? Does he care about people that hurt him? How bout, Eret? Techno? Does he care about them? Outside of Wilbur, who has he done something for. Or is it just Wilbur, who as you pointed out has manipulated him into a twisted familial relationship.
lol to be fair, Tommy is always annoying, is always telling jokes, is always antagonizing Dream. Like as far as I can tell, when it comes to that behavior I’m pretty sure there was hardly a difference between pre exile mocking Dream and post exile mocking Dream. Just saying…
Umm well depends on the context of that honestly, manipulation is a diverse tool in many situations. Part of the manipulation could even be pushing someone to be annoying like he does in the staged finale for instance. Being annoying isn’t necessarily a deterrent, though it could be to remind himself that he hates Dream in contrast to his feelings in exile so perhaps that’s what you meant.
Yeah, I haven’t seen those shows well I do know the video game cupheads, but I get the idea and you’re not alone in that. I guess perhaps my childhood experience was just different and that’s one of the reasons I don’t get it… in any case, I’m glad you found a good character to project on (it’s very therapeutic) even if I don’t quite get it. XD <3

Your recent post on Dream and Tommy was really good but also made me remember a thing that cracked me up during the finale. Throughout all of the lore exile onward, I think Dream's obsession with Tommy got more and more clear, along with his terrible planning and bad attempts at seeming emotionless. And I think at some point in one of the last streams (not re watching so this is paraphrasing) Tommy is calling him out on all of this and Punz says 'Oh you never mattered you were just a tool' and Dream just agrees?? And to this day I have no idea if that was just Dream lying through his teeth to make the alliance with Punz work or if they were genuinely trying to retcon that
if they were they were doing a shitty job at it considering in those streams he:
completely ignored c!Tubbo even after he killed him except for like one token mention after c!tommy
deliberately taunted them in ways that were meant to fuck with c!Tommy specifically (he references dream in de walls which funnily enough canonises them 100% so)
referenced shit c!tommy did he couldn’t know if he wasn’t stalking him again
kept c!tommy's stuff as a trophy, which obviously was mostly to make sure that stuff from techno didn’t get burnt but like. specifically making a point out of burning c!Tubbo’s stuff multiple times and then not doing the same with c!Tommy was definitely a choice they made.
decided literally everything happened ever because c!tommy existed even though he’s factually incorrect- he's literally having delusions of c!tommy being the Most Important Person Ever it’s so funny.
immediately completely ignored c!Punz after c!Tommy sympathised with him very slightly and hinted they could be friends again.
immediately switched into the exact same behaviour he displayed in exile to manipulate c!Tommy when c!Tommy started sympathising with him even slightly.
explicitly called what he did and was still doing to c!Tommy torture but again continue to do it.
immediately gave up on his idea of mad science at the idea of having c!Tommy as a friend again despite being a stubborn bastard.
immediately while having no memories at all only his personality glomming straight onto c!Tommy after seeing him for the literal first time.
also c!tommy explicitly brings up that c!dream tortures him and seemingly refuses to let him die ever despite having no issues killing people so.
like the issue with the finale isn’t that it’s not c!prime-y enough. there’s a whole lot of c!prime there lol. it’s that the final stream (first three are fine) is awfully written and not internally consistent with the stream literally the day before it let alone anyone else’s lore (it contradicts ghostburs whole thing completely for one)

okay . had a thought abt dolphins using pufferfish to get high n it made me think abt atlanteans like. using pufferfish instead of smoking weed n i just wanted to share. i know namor has a conflicting history (slapped that cigarette out of that guys hands but also has been said to use drugs once occasionally to Cope I believe? might have made that up i dunno) but it is just funny to imagine him like. on his throne. holding a poor pufferfish like that.
Silver Age Namor was very "I cannot believe you would wave that foul weed in front of my face! How dare you!"
The Sub-Mariner (1968) #28
But it is canon that Namor uses drugs to Cope from time to time. He was helping Bucky stop an illegal trade of Illum that was bring trafficked when he mentions he indulges from time to time.
Bucky Barnes: Winter Soldier (2014) #1
In Sub-Mariner Lore there was 3 main drugs, Hook, Illum, and OX, and Namor is seen stopping the illegal trading/selling of drugs so he has laws in place for certain substances is what I inferred from the comics. However I 100% think that Atlanteans would def use pufferfish to get high, lol, like I'm sure there are other things in the sea, made up or real, that they could also use. lololol.
Anyways, even if people don't accept 616 Namor smoking, I know that AU Hippie Namor would be passing around pufferfish, lol.
Exiles (2018) #3
I always found it funny that Namor was seen with this very specific image of him holding a cigarette in the 90s, because chemical pollutions/toxins are super harmful to Atlanteans, but I guess they wanted to give Namor that 90s business man classy look.
