Roxas & Naminé are Twins
While Naminé considers herself a Mutant Nobody of Kairi, it is CANONICAL that it was Sora doing THIS
"created" Roxas and Naminé.
Excluding the presence of Donald & Goofy, there are THIRTEEN HEARTS involved in this scene:
all seven hosts of the Primordial X-blade's Light, six within the Keyblade of Heart that Sora uses to "unlock" himself;
the Darkened Hearts within Said Keyblade's creator: Riku, as possessed by Terra (as possessed by Xehanort);
the Morally Dubious heart of Eraqus, hidden within Terra so as to settle its Decades Long Marriage Dispute with Xehanort;
the Hearts within Sora's: his own; Kairi's, the final host of the First X-blade's Light; & Ventus, recovering survivor from Xehanort's LAST attempt at forging a x-blade.
With so many Hearts involved in their creation, all of them Powerful in Light &/or Darkness, it is little wonder that the Twin Nobodies Roxas and Naminé are such Magical Powerhouses.
Roxas being able to Dual Wield Keyblades, regardless of how un/entangled he may be with the Hearts of Sora&Ventus or Xion at any given time, seemed to have a simple explanation: Roxas has 1 Keyblade for each Heart he "had", 1 from Sora & 1 from Ventus).
Except... Roxas had a Heart of his own the whole time.
"Roxas only has two hands" is a Valid Point, as is "the 2 Hearts were those of Ventus and Roxas, Sora's Heart was with his Heartless": neither point addresses Roxas retaining his ability to dual-wield keyblades in KH3.
It's Plausible that Roxas is currently capable of dual-wielding keyblades due to his Replica body hosting both the Roxas Heart yeeted from Sora AND at least 1 Data Roxas, as sourced from Data Twilight Town &/or The Garden Of Assemblage (the Secret Boss Room in KH2 which hosts Data copies of the Organization XIII members players defeat).
It seems more likely, however, that these Hearts would "merge" into 1 Roxas: the Hearts (& memories) developed by other Organization XIII members (excluding Xion & Xemnas) seem to have merged or otherwise integrated with those of their Others upon "recompletion".
The Heart (& memories) of Saïx & Axel were inherited by the "recompleted" Isa & Lea.
This seamless integration was likely due to there being no conflicting memories between their time as Nobodies and as [Recompleted Persons], all "parts" having accepted each other as being "one soul".
...something that would ALSO be true for the Roxas within Sora's Heart and any Data Copies of him added to their new Replica body.
So, unless we see Axel Dual-Wielding Keyblades in a future game, the "simple" explanations for why Roxas has that ability are most likely related to the context of his & Naminé's creation, born of sacrifice and all of the [Primordial X-Blade's Light] and [Whatever The Heck Riku Is].
The only other characters seen dual-wielding keyblades are Xion (who was siphoning memories & power from Sora, Riku Replica, & Roxas), Sora (with his Heart Hotel)... and Riku.
Riku, who casually forges new, unique keyblades at will. Riku, whose 1 Heart forged the currently & simultaneously-wielded keyblades of Sora (Kingdom Key), Kairi (Destiny's Embrace) &, potentially, King Mickey (Kingdom Key-D). Riku, whose reaction to his own (also distinct & simultaneously existent) keyblade breaking was "guess I'll summon a new one now" and then DOES THAT, when AQUA needed the miraculous connections she had with 3 other people (all of them in varying states of not-alive) to summon the keyblade BEQUEATHED to her (Master's Defender, the keyblade wielded in-life by Eraqus, and a keyblade inherited by pupils from Masters in a tradition begun by Ephemer after HIS receiving the keyblade from Brain).
Riku, who was used to forge the very Keyblade of Heart that created Roxas & Naminé im the first place!
(Riku is NOT NORMAL, okay? and this was true WELL before he casually became Sora's Dream Eater AND JUST AS CASUALLY CHANGED BACK: for humans, the transformation to "spirit" tends to be FINAL and ONE-WAY)
Other Assorted Oddities:
Sora gained a new body independently from Roxas (or Naminé, in KH1.
Ventus, the "third" Heart credited with the creation of Roxas, had his body VERY safely secured in Castle Oblivion by Aqua and seems utterly unaffected by either Nobody's creation & all subsequent shenanigans.
Kairi had been functioning as her own Nobody for almost the entirery of KH1: this again underscores how ??? Naminé's existence is.
with the exceptions of Goofy and Beast, ALL the characters at Hollow Bastion when Sora "unlocked" himself were probably capable of making Sora a "new" body (together if not individually, in the cases of the Disney Princesses & Kairi). it would have been somewhat out of character for Maleficent or Xehanort's Heartless but Riku is VERY WEIRD and he had some influence with both of them at that time: Riku may have summoned up a new body for Sora in the same way he summons new heart swords. It does, however, seem most likely that Sora's Magical Recompletion was a Joint Effort from the Princesses of Heart (as channeled by Kairi).
Kairi, as a Princess of Heart/Vessel of Light, cannot form a Heartless nor a Nobody: this is something brought up by multiple differently well-informed sources of worldbuilding lore. Naminé CANNOT be Kairi's Nobody: her being a Twin Nobody of Sora, alongside Roxas, makes much more sense even without the Additional Factors of Princess Hearts and Riku's role in turning Said Hearts into a Magic Key Sword that Sora stabbed himself with.
Vanitas???
i am belatedly realising that from a Certain (Very Crack) POV, the way i've described Roxas and Namimé's "birth" kind of mkes them fit the Criterium for being that "Child of Destiny" thing. since 2 of their "parents" (Riku & thus, through Gay Love, Sora) ARE said Child of Destiny. Naminé & Roxas as "Grandchildren of Destiny?"
Naminé's powers over Memory seem more in line with the (implied) capabilities of the Princesses of Heart working collectively than any of them individually: this may be a Plot Point, when the New Seven Lights are assembled, or have already played off in that First, "Doomed" Timeline of KH3's Keyblade War (thus Naminé's presence in the Final World & the weird "death" Kairi had in Timeline 2).
All of the above (crack included) are Additional Complications to the assumption that "Roxas is Sora's Nobody and Naminé is Kairi's".
While all four characters in that equation "agree" with this assumption does mean that it is "true": it does not at all, however, seem to be entire "Truth". ,

Rewriting Keyblades
OK, full disclaimer here: I like Kingdom Hearts. I honestly, really do. The series is infamously complicated and confusing, and the rules for how the world functions seem to amount to "whatever Nomura and his team think would be cool at the time."
In spite of that, there's really not much about the story I would ultimately change in the grand scheme of things. If anything I would probably have just made all the important details easier to digest without having to read through tons of optional data reports found throughout the games and the myriad of releases/remasters.
That said, if there is ONE aspect of Kingdom Hearts I would make changes to, it's the Keyblades. For how important they are in the series, the rules for how these things work are by far the most confusing and inconsistent. KH1 presents the Keyblade as this special, one-of-a-kind weapon that only a "chosen one" can wield, and now everyone and their grandmas can use a Keyblade.
That part doesn't particularly bug me, but the details for how and why Keyblades are even formed and who can get one has never been clear-cut. The first Keyblades were apparently made by the Master of Masters, who "extracted them from the hearts of his apprentices," and then other people learned how to just make their own, I guess? (I dunno, I never actually played UnionX, so I can only go off of what's on the wiki.)
Sometimes Keyblades can be passed down, some are created from one's own heart, and some are created by attaching a keychain to an existing Keyblade. Some have the power to transform into other weapons, and others come equipped with unique properties like the ability to see into the future. Apparently there are also "counterpart" Keyblades in the Realms of Darkness and Light, however that works.
Needless to say, it's a lot. So... Yeah, I decided to try my hand at streamlining this mess just a bit. Without further ado, let's get into it.
The first known Keyblade was the Clavis Ferrum (because let's face it, the χ-blade was always a dumb name), said to be formed from the heart of all worlds: Kingdom Hearts. The Clavis Ferrum boasted power beyond measure, but its true potential could only be unlocked when it was exposed to abundant Light and Darkness in equal measure.
Long ago, the scholars of Scala ad Caelum found and studied the Clavis Ferrum. From this, they learned how to harness the power of hearts to create replicas, which they called Keyblades.
There are two types of Keyblades: Soul Keyblades and World Keyblades.
Soul Keyblades are formed from the heart of an individual, and their strength is reflective of the person they are born from. Soul Keyblades are usually bound to their wielder, but can be passed on to someone else if the original wielder and the receiver both consent to this. It is also possible for a person to form a new Keyblade, often represented by a change in their heart.
World Keyblades are formed from the hearts of worlds, not unlike how the Clavis Ferrum spawned from the heart of existence itself. These Keyblades can theoretically be wielded by anyone, but only if they have come into contact with that world's Keyhole.
Regardless of type, Keyblades boast a variety of abilities relating to the hearts of both individuals and worlds. They can separate hearts from bodies, separate light from darkness and vice-versa, and even awaken slumbering hearts.
List of Notable Keyblades
Kingdom Key Originally formed from the heart of King Mickey, it was sent to Destiny Island in a desperate bid by the king to stop the world from succumbing to darkness. He originally intended the blade to go to Riku, but it wound up in the hands of Sora instead. Eventually, it becomes Sora's default Keyblade.
Roxas temporarily inherits the Kingdom Key as Sora's nobody, but can no longer wield it once Sora awakens.
Kingdom Key D A distorted replica of the Kingdom Key wielded by Xion. Though not as powerful as the original, it still has the power to release hearts, as per the Organization's goal.
Keyblade of Hearts An artificial Keyblade formed by forcefully combining the power of several hearts in a taboo ritual performed by Ansem. It has the power to force open a rift to Kingdom Hearts, but not unleash its full power.
Way to the Dawn A Keyblade formed from Riku's heart while he struggles to content with the light and darkness inside of him. It is later passed on to Riku Replica.
Destiny's Embrace A Keyblade formed by Kairi in her desperation to save Sora. She first summons it to cut through the Heartless attacking him, though her technique is somewhat lacking. Kairi spends a great deal of time training under Yen Sid to master the weapon, so that she can contribute to the final battle against Xehanort. Yes I am salty about the series refusing to let Kairi have any agency until the KH3 DLC how could you tell?
Oathkeeper and Oblivion Keyblades formed from Sora's heart, representing his connections to Kairi and Riku. Roxas acquires them after leaving Organization XIII, and they are later passed on to him full with Sora's blessing.
Braveheart A Keyblade formed by Riku's heart after he finally reconciles the light and darkness within. This weapon represents Riku's willingness to accept himself completely, even the parts he was once ashamed of.
Flame Liberator Lea's Keyblade, awakened from his fiery resolve to save Roxas and not just unceremoniously summoned out of nowhere at the last minute in Dream Drop Distance. Has the unique ability to turn into chakrams.
Event Horizon A Keyblade created by Xion after her resurrection. Representing her full awakening to personhood, it is the culmination of her heart's desire escape from the eternal twilight that bound it. (Credit for the idea comes from this Reddit post.)
Earthshaker/Ends of the Earth A Keyblade formed from Terra's heart. Its form changes and undergoes a sort of evolution when Terra resolves to protect his friends above all else. It has the ability to transform into a deadly whip.
Rainfell/Stormfall A keyblade formed from Aqua's heart. Its form changes and undergoes a sort of evolution when she learns to look beyond her duties as a Keyblade Master. It wound up in Xemnas's possession when Aqua fell to the Realm of Darkness, but he could not properly wield it since it hadn't been Bequeathed.
Wayward Wind/Lost Memory A Keyblade formed from Ventus's heart. Its initial form represents Ventus's lacking memories, leaving him confused and seeking direction. It undergoes a sort of transformation when he recalls his missing past as Xehanort's apprentice.
Star Cluster Yen Sid's original Keyblade, passed on to Mickey after Yen Sid doffed the mantle of Keyblade Master. It becomes Mickey's default Keyblade going forward, since his Kingdom Key is now Sora's.
Master's Defender An ancient Keyblade passed down across many generations. Most prominently used by Master Eraquas, who never awakened a Keyblade from his own heart.
No Name Xehanort's original Keyblade, forged from his own heart when he was an apprentice. This Keyblade represents Xehanort's unique talent at chronomancy, though is ultimately abandoned in later years for favor of an inherited Keyblade.
The Gazing Eye The very first Keyblade ever formed by the Master of Masters, passed down to many wielders across many generations. This becomes Xehanort's main Keyblade throughout the series.
Ultima Weapon A Keyblade crafted in an attempt to recreate the Clavis Ferrum. Though ultimately an imperfect imitation, its power still far exceeds most ordinary Keyblades. Legends say that it manifests to those who overcome the most grueling of trials, and its form is ever-changing to represent the Ultima Weapon's unstable nature.

It's time to introduce you to my Akuroku Shipchildren: Isa and Xion!
I gave all KH characters surnames so as not to confuse them with the other KH characters
In my version of the Kingdom Hearts series, Roxas and Axel are 10 years apart in age (so in 358/2 Days, Roxas is 14 while Axel is 24)
Roxas and Axel met when Roxas was born as Nobody and joined in the Organization XIII
As time passes, Roxas and Axel complete missions together, and later go to above the clock tower in Twilight Town to chat and eat sea-salt ice cream together
In my version of 358/2 Days, despite being Nobodies, that is beings without a heart, Roxas and Axel fall in love with each other and, still above the clock tower of Twilight Town, they exchange their first kiss and get together
Near the end of my version of 356/2 Days, Roxas leaves the Organization XIII to find out who he really is
At the beginning of my version of Kingdom Hearts II, while still in love, Roxas and Axel fight
Axel sacrifices himself to allow Sora Sky to enter The World That Never Was, while Roxas disappears after his battle against Sora
In the ending of my version of Kingdom Hearts II, when Sora Sky and Riku Land return to the Destiny Islands, they briefly take on the appearance of Roxas and Axel until the two kiss
In Dream Drop Distance, Axel awakens as his human self, Lea, and becomes a Keyblade wielder
In my version of Kingdom Hearts III, when he was training with Kairi Sea, Lea reveals that, despite being human again, he is still in love with Roxas
During the battle at the Keyblade Graveyard against Saïx (Lea's childhood friend), Roxas is resurrected
After defeating Saïx, Lea hugs Roxas revealing that Axel was his Nobody name, but Roxas smiles and says: "Axel or Lea, you are always the person I want to stay, and also the person I love with all my heart..." after which, the two kiss
After the events of my version of Kingdom Hearts III, Roxas continues to call Lea by his Nobody name, Axel
4 years after the events of my version of Kingdom Hearts IV (even though it hasn't been released yet), Roxas, seeing that Sora (the person he was do as a Nobody) has married Riku and had a son (named Roxas), thinks that it's time for him to start a family with Axel too
So, still above the clock tower of Twilight Town, Roxas proposes to Axel after 5 years of knowing each other and being together
Roxas and Axel get married under the clock tower in Twilight Town where Sora is Roxas' best man (since, 2 years ago, Roxas was Sora's best man on his wedding day)
Both children were born to Axel
Isa Blond
Isa is Roxas and Axel's firstborn
His full name is Isa Sora Red Blond (his first name is Saïx's human name, his middle name is taken from Sora Sky, the person Roxas do as a Nobody, and his third name is Axel's surname)
Isa was conceived on Roxas and Axel's wedding day
Isa was born 2 years after Roxas Sky (the son of Sora Sky and Riku Land) and a month after Kairi Sky (the younger sister of Roxas Sky)
When Isa was just born, Axel had jokingly said to Roxas: "Our son will be a great Nobody!"
Isa is 12 years old
Isa is loved by his fathers
His personality is very similar to that of Roxas
Isa has blonde hair, inherited from Roxas, and green eyes, inherited from Axel
Isa wields the same two Keyblades as Roxas
Isa is Sora's apprentice
Isa has a crush, reciprocated, on Roxas Sky
Xion Blond
Xion is Roxas and Axel's second-born
Her full name is Xion Naminé Red Blond (her first name is taken from Roxas and Axel's best friend, Xion Black, her middle name is taken from Naminé White, Xion's wife, while her third name, like her brother Isa, is Axel's surname)
Xion is two years younger than Isa and Kairi Sky, and also 4 years younger than Roxas Sky
Xion is 10 years old
Xion loves her fathers and her brother Isa very much
Her personality is very similar to that of Axel
Xion has red hair, inherited from Axel, and blue eyes, inherited from Roxas
Xion is still too young to wield a Keyblade, but she has promised that, when she is 12, she will wield the same Keyblade as Axel
Xion wishes to become Riku's apprentice
Xion is Kairi Sky's best friend
I want to see your version of my shipchildren!

(1/3) I was thinking about your posts on the final world, specifically the line “what if Sora from Yozora’s perspective, is a character whose heart was replaced by another’s?” I might be crazy but isn’t this what happened when the Kingdom Key chose Sora in KH1? Because Sora was never meant to be a keyblade wielder, so the heart of the “protagonist” of KH the videogame/story was replaced by another’s. Maybe in this context “Sora” is simply meant to refer to “main playable character”?
(2/3) After all, Yozora was also “replaced” but still goes by that name. So what Yozora is expecting is a “scrapped main character” version of Riku? I don’t know if there’s an IRL equivalent of that tho. I say this because I believe that a keyblade is the medium through which a IRL player interacts with the game/world of KH. Almost all the playable characters are keyblade wielders after all(mission mode from 358/2 is the only counter I can think of but that got scrapped in final mix so)
(3/3) According to KH1, Sora was never meant to be the main player character (maybe a vessel for Ventus’ heart, a la Riku’s “just a delivery boy”) but became so anyway because of the keyblade (player)’s influence (the start of KH’s own recognition of its fictional nature/creating emotional connections, becoming “real”). Am I putting too much emphasis on an almost 20 year game??? Probably. Just wanted to hear your thoughts on this basically crack theory.
Oh hey there Anon, I really like how you're thinking. I'll admit that I often dismiss the "Sora wasn't chosen by the Keyblade" factoid because BBS really muddied the keyblade inheritance big time. 'Kingdom Key chose Sora during Riku's fall" is a great twist in KH1 and thematically helps solidify Sora's image as a relatable protag-- and most of all it's still true. But knowing that keyblade itself isn't an entirely unique ability as it was in KH1, the 'Player Character Power' has a slightly less ardent ring to it. That said, the KK blade specifically is extremely synonymous with the player character (see: Roxas and Xion's blades) and I love the idea that the object alone is the mark of the protagonist because it's thrillingly cold to imagine! The idea that Sora is, for some reason a fraud of a protagonist would thematically explore what it means to be 'special' and the nature of stories to demand the 'special' from their characters. It's rather cyclical in a way, which could be the entire point in describing the entire game-player feedback loop.
Your observation has me really considering this aspect of Sora's identity in the meta-narrative. I default on the idea that he is firmly the heart of the series as its protagonist but there is something to be said about the fact that he wasn't meant to be it. That it's the keyblade itself that grants him this abstract role in the story. It's actually very powerful thing in this analysis. The entire exchange with Yozora is challenging to parse and I was forced to use the context of the meta-narrative to read the meaning behind the identity mix-up. Applying it to Sora in a poetic reversal helps explain the strange hostile/rescue motives of the secret ending while also playing big-time with the metaphysics of a literal character recycling. Yozora is recycled Noctis. A self-aware recycled Noctis. The real chilling thought is if Yozora is right in his assumption. Sora as a recycled Riku could be quite the statement. Thank you for playing in that sandbox of crazy thoughts with me.
#i make no new points here#its got me evaluating that entire factor in kh1 and how it relates to sora's identity as a protag#thank you anon#kingdom hearts#metacatastrophe#kh analysis

I have been musing about this for awhile but I would like your two cents. THough others think that Kairi and RIku being able to duel weild becaue of Namine and Repliku beiong aborbed by them Sora can duel weild because of his own and Ventus' keyblade. Roxas can duel weild because he is Sora's nobody. I want to think Roxas merely inherited the trait and even reabsorbed was not part of Roxas' original power set to begin with, he just happened to unlock it first. So they wouldn't be able to?
That sounds correct to me. The BBS Ultimania gives this:
Q4: Why can Roxas dual-wield? A: Because he can use both Sora’s and Ventus’ keyblades. Sora can wield two keyblades at once because he has Ventus’ as well as his own. As Roxas is a part of Sora, he also can use two. In Days Roxas awakened his ability to dual wield after fighting Xion. In KHII once Sora absorbs him, he can also dual-wield.
So Roxas uses Sora and Ven’s Keyblades and doesn’t technically have his own. Once he was reabsorbed, all he did was return Sora and Ven’s Keyblades to their owners, so to speak
It should also be noted that whether Repliku or Namine can even wield Keyblades is questionable. Namine doesn’t seem to be able to, but if she could I assume it would work the same as the Sora/Roxas situation, i.e. she’d just be using Kairi’s, and Kairi can’t dual wield her own Keyblade because it’s... just the one Keyblade
Repliku is really questionable, though. The only time we see him with a Keyblade, it’s that... I guess dream sequence thing Riku has when facing Anti-Aqua? And while Riku left Way to the Dawn for Repliku, we have no idea if that was more of a spiritual thing or literal. My assumption would be spiritual, in which case Repliku would only be able to use a Keyblade insofar as Xion can, which really just boils down to being able to make a duplicate Keyblade that’s not technically real. And even if it was a literal bequeathing... Repliku kind of ejected his heart from Riku at the end of KH3, so there’s no way for Riku to dual-wield. Riku’s window of dual wielding would be, like, the last three or so hours of KH3 and that’s it

Day 1 and Day 2!! @khoc-week
Apparently, I forgot it was already the 4th yesterday lol
Day 1- Introduce your OC!
Okay so.... Her name’s Hikari! Sora’s one year younger sister.
She’s very determined and caring, though sometimes a bit easy to anger. She has a really dry sense of humor, often using puns people find annoying and unfunny. Without really knowing it, she compares herself to others. Often feeling discouraged when someone did it better than her, but that doesn’t mean she would give up trying. She would use it to better herself, finding what she lacks and train harder.
She likes baseball and dreams to be a pro player or an Engineer or a Psychiatrist. (Or all 3 lolol)
Her story’s a bit long to fit here so I’ll sum it all up! I haven’t continued her story after DAYS lolol
Little adventures (I haven’t put everything in the gallery, but everything titled Little Adventures is the story, 7 chapters in manga form)
New Beginnings
Forget Me Not
In BBS, she befriended a boy who came to Destiny Islands by accident. She wanted to make friends outside her world since the ones in her world doesn’t want to be with her friend. So, she made a deal with the Masked Boy. Though, Ventus saved her in a world before she is attacked by Unversed. He took her to a few worlds (Disney Town) and taught her the value of family. She came home soon after and then when the time comes for Ventus’ final fight, Vanitas used her as bait to make Ventus fight. She was saved and then Ventus made a promise to return, but he never did. She waited 10 years.
In KH1, she was separated from the others when Destiny Islands was consumed by darkness. She meets Merlin and Fairy Godmother who taught her magic. When Hikari learned the truth of Maleficent and Riku using the 7 princesses, she fought with Riku and escaped. Fast forward, she reunited with Sora, but when the time comes for the final fight between Ansem, she choose to stay behind and take the princesses home. When Sora and co were missing, she choose to stay with the Hollow Bastion Committee instead of going back home.
In COM/Days, Hikari blamed Riku for Sora and co’s disappearance. She was later brought to Castle Oblivion by Marluxia because they thought she has the “memory” where Ventus is. She couldn’t remember anything since Namine made her forget (Namine didn’t want to repeat the same mistake twice). She discovered a few things about the bbs trio and later when she reached the top and meet Namine, she learned of the truth. Later, she made up with Riku and Mickey choose her to inherit his keyblade because of her determination.
In Days, she befriended Roxas and Xion without really knowing who they are. At the end, she has to choose to let them go for Sora to wake up. She regretted her decision.
Day 2- New World!
Since I’m currently interested in Kimetsu no Yaiba, why not take Hikari to the Demon Slayer world? She was recruited because of her abilities (magic lmao) and the strange nichirin blade that can kill black ant demons so efficiently and of course defeat the demons. Most of the Hashira are suspicious of her background, but Hikari just avoided everyone lol

KH AU:
a SorVen raising Roxas from baby-hood
just shhhhh listen okay
sora is most definitely the goofy "dad joke" one
ven is the rational, kind of stressed husband
despite this, sora can cook, ventus...cannot.
i mean he definitely tries but the farhtest he has gotten is grilled cheese sandwiches
and roxas has had enough of grilled cheese for lunch
roxas remembers bits and pieces of the time he was sora's nobody
but he's hesitant in calling ventus and sora by their names.
sora is dad, ventus is pa or pops
roxas became a baby because of some mishap with ansem and the others
at first sora and ventus just raise him as friends
but they sorta fell in bed together one day
it all went downhill from there
roxas has a tiny streak of brown hair bc i like liverpepper's older!roxas design its so,,, pretty,,,,
sora is the openly PDA partner, ventus is the blushing type.
despite everyone thinking roxas inherited ventus' temperament, roxas actually has sora's. they just express it differently.
riku and kairi definitely have photos of both sora and roxas being mad and have had countless debates on why they look the same
sora has definitely been more cheeky, even going so far as to push ventus against a counter and seducing him right then and there
LOOK SORVEN IS A SHIP I DIDNT KNOW I LIKED UNTIL I THOUGHT ABOUT IT
outsiders are so confused as to why ventus keeps saying roxas took after sora more
theyre confused because roxas copies ventus' habits more often. sora's are a bit too carefree.
roxas is still bffs with axel and xion. ven and sora would never deprive him of his first friends.
riku low key spoils roxas even though they get into petty arguments
"riku," "yeah sora?" "roxas doesnt need THIS many pillows,,,," "WELL YOU NEVER KNOW"
terra teases ven by saying "oh no, im a grandpa, im not ready yet, please"
aqua does not help "shhh think about how i feel terra im a great grandma"
"STOP IIIIIT AQUA NOT YOU TOO"
sora flirts relentlessly and ven is flustered EVERY TIME youd think hed get used to it
but no
i might post some nsfw sorven stuff later ANYWAYS
roxas was a pretty chill kid growing up
he didn't really HAVE a rebellious emo phase.... he just kinda went up to sora and said "hey dad can i get one of those cool punk black earrings" stuff like that and sora just went "sure, lets ask your pa for some money"
sora wont let roxas dye his hair black though, any other color was fine, just not black. they settled on roxas having a brown streak and thats how he got it lmao
SO ABOUT XION
they defo got hit by the same...uh, "curse" that happened to roxas
you can pry genderfluid/non-binary xion out of my cold dead hands
anyway isa and lea take care of them!! they dont call lea or isa anything other than their names, though
childhood friends with roxas, forever, always
they painted thalassa shells black and had sora make them into earrings! one for roxas, one for xion
xion wears chokers!
roxas still wears his rings and armband
they still have their keybladed too!!
thats all i have. for now.

Where do you think Lea's Keyblade came from?
— What happens to Lea hereafter now that he has become a Keyblade wielder?
Lea, having returned to his human form, chosen by the Keyblade. Does him getting a Keyblade have anything to do with his best friend Roxas? And is there a possibility that Lea’s become one of the protectors of Light?
Essentially, I think Lea gained the potential to wield a Keyblade after his fateful meeting with Ventus, after touching his special keepsake. It may not have been a real Keyblade, but it was Ven’s most precious possession that represented his love for Terra. And Terra performed a mock inheritance ceremony with it. Immediately after Ventus remembered that, Lea picked it up. I think after picking it up, Lea’s heart connected with Ventus’s heart, and this allowed him to gain the potential to wield. Roxas helped Lea remember how he felt about his best friend, which was the ultimate catalyst for why he summoned it.
Sora: There's a special memory that goes with this. One night, when Naminé and I were little, there was this meteor shower. Naminé started crying. She said, "What if a shooting star hits the island?" So I said, "If a shooting star comes this way, I'll hit it right back into outer space!" I was swinging this toy sword around the whole time. Naminé just smiled and said "Thanks." And then she gave me this.
Unfortunately, the significance of Lea gaining his Keyblade was never truly understood due to Lea’s lack of a backstory. Basically, I think Lea summoned his Keyblade because he loved Isa and wanted to save him. He just wanted be his hero again like when they were kids; it was that simple. They tried to make Axel’s backstory tie into the story of CoM, so that watching Sora and Naminé would awaken Axel’s sleeping memories. All Sora and the Riku Replica wanted to do was protect Naminé. They had a memory of making a promise to protect her by acting tough, saying they’d use a toy sword to defend her from a shooting star.
I remember that smile—it’s the same smile she had when she gave me the charm, thought the Replica, sadly. That memory, these feelings, all of it is fake…
Not wanting to see that smile of Naminé’s any more, the Replica turned his back on her.
“Thank you, Riku… no. Thank you, Riku Replica,” she said to his back.
The Replica stared into the empty air without answering.
Then she said “thank you” and smiled at them, giving them the lucky charm. It was her smile that Sora and the Replica were motivated by. It made them happy when she smiled at them. This inspired Axel’s backstory.
".....moreover, it's salty."
"But sweet!" As Lea went on, Isa smiled just a bit.
It's rare to see Isa smile.
I think Lea felt the exact same way. Isa rarely smiled. Lea noticed it when he did and it made him happy. Since Saix basically NEVER smiles, it makes it Axel’s backstory even more sad.
Saïx turned to him, irritated. “Can you really defeat the Heartless in Agrabah?”
“It’ll be fine. I’m tough, you know.”
After Castle Oblivion, Axel began to grow a heart and he remembered that he liked seeing Isa smile.
“Have you even thought that maybe I can’t erase Roxas?” Axel said, in a playful tone.
Saix finally looked up.
“It’ll be all right. Cause I’m tough.” Axel puffed out his chest.
“Saying stupid things,” said Saïx, smiling for just a second at Axel, puffing out his chest.
Lea wanted to play the hero for him. He beat a tough enemy to protect Isa, bragged he was tough and puffed out his chest. And it made Isa thank him and smile at him.
“Thank you, Axel,” they said, in unison.
This is why… this feeling is so hazy. Scratching his head unconsciously, Axel looked away from the two of them.
“Well…how about buying me an ice cream, then?”
“Huh?” Roxas blurted, confused by the request when Axel couldn’t even meet their eyes.
Don’t think I can take any more of those thank-yous.
That’s why Axel was so weird on Days 96. He hated being thanked.
“You made it so we could go on a mission together this morning, didn’t you?” said Xion, and Axel looked away.
When I’m smiled at with such a happy look… I feel uncomfortable.
And he hated being smiled at.
You know how Lea uses his phrase about getting “stuck with the icky jobs” before he sets off to find Isa and bring him back? I think that line was VERY important to his backstory and what motivated him so much to wield a Keyblade. In Japanese, Axel says, “mendokusai” a lot, which basically means “what a drag”.
When Axel brought Xion back, he used the same line about being stuck with the icky jobs and said she always caused him trouble before he brought her back.
“Besides, this place is huge. Searching for one lunkhead in here would be way too much trouble.”
“What happened to this being an important part of the job?” Roxas was rather annoyed with Axel for insisting they pursue their quarry all the way out here and then declaring it “too much trouble.”
In the novels, he’s constantly complaining about things being a “pain in the ass”.
“Something feels weird.”
“What do you mean?”
“You hate troublesome things, right, Axel?”
Basically, Axel doesn’t like things to be troublesome. Even Roxas noticed this. It was an important aspect of his personality. If possible, he’ll take the path of least resistance.
“Maybe we finished too fast.” He was laughing as he said it, but Xion couldn’t.
It felt like he’d done most of the work for her today, too. She stared at the missing bite out of her ice cream. You probably could have beaten him, right, Roxas?
I think Lea liked playing the hero, Isa was appreciative of all his help, but Isa thought he was causing Lea trouble.
“Did something happen?”
“Not really…”
He’s a bad liar. I can pick it straight away. But, I guess that isn’t concrete proof that something did happen. Something must have happened that Roxas didn’t understand the reason for either, thought Axel. An emotion somewhere in my memories.
“Girls are complicated, aren’t they,” muttered Axel.
Something happened to damage Isa’s trust in Lea (maybe Braig playing mind games with him). Then Lea probably made a comment or joke about how he’s “always stuck with the icky jobs,” and it hit the wrong button for Isa and they got into a fight. Isa thought Lea considered him “too much trouble” and it really hurt his feelings. He wanted to do stuff on his own and pushed Lea away for a while.
“Well, Roxas—why do the three of us eat ice cream together every day in that place?”
“….Huh?”
“I have no use in doing that either, do I? If you think about it, it’s troublesome, right? Do you want me to tell you?”
Roxas looked at Axel, and waited for his answer.
“It’s because we are best friends.”
I think THAT was the whole point of Day 193. Isa got himself in a very bad situation without Lea’s help and it really scared Lea. Then Lea probably made Isa a promise that day that Isa could always rely on him and that he’d always be there to bring him back, no matter how many times he pushed him away. He wanted Isa to trust him unconditionally. Saix caused Axel a loooooot of trouble. Nobody in his life caused him more. But Lea made him that promise. And he meant it. And that was why he immediately set off to look for him when he woke up and why he was able to summon a Keyblade once he found out he was a vessel.

important things to remember for kh3 just in case they come up
Ventus has some sort of ties to the original Keyblade War, along with Larxene and Marluxia.
Vanitas is in pain and strife due to the existence of the Unversed and he is trying to make the pain end by restoring the lost part of his heart.
Ventus has been asleep for over twelve years, as Aqua has been in the Realm of Darkness, and Terra possessed by Xehanort.
The Land of Departure was transformed into Castle Oblivion by Aqua, using the Master’s Keeper.
Kairi has trouble remembering anything prior to washing ashore on the Destiny Islands, if she can remember at all.
A paopu fruit is a star-shaped fruit that grows on some of the trees on the Destiny Islands. Legend says that when two people share one, their destinies become intertwined. They will always be a part of each other’s lives, no matter what.
Sora was NOT chosen by the Keyblade and was not bequeathed a Keyblade by anyone else. He earned it by proving his strength of heart and showing how much he cares for his friends.
Riku was given the power of the Keyblade by Terra when he performed the Keyblade Inheritance Ceremony when Riku was five-years old.
When Sora turned into a Heartless, he retained a sense of humanity and didn’t attack anyone. Rather he followed around Kairi until she held onto him and used her power to restore him to his human self.
Roxas and Naminé were both created when Sora stabbed himself with the Keyblade. Roxas took on Ventus’ appearance due to Ven’s heart clinging to Sora’s body. Naminé took on an appearance that was not notably similar to Kairi’s for reasons we still don’t know.
Roxas is a Nobody, and therefore shouldn’t have feelings. However, because of Ventus’ heart, he is a rare case in which a new Nobody began to feel emotion immediately.
Sora still doesn’t have any recollection of Castle Oblivion, and hasn’t been told about anything that occurred there. But he still feels the need to thank Naminé for helping him, even if he couldn’t remember how.
Sora hasn’t heard anything about the Datascape.
Riku retrieved some sort of data from Sora’s heart that Ansem the Wise placed there in hopes it would do work to atone for his mistakes.
Ansem the Wise and his apprentices were performing unethical experiments on people’s hearts. Ansem soon turned his back on the work and ordered the experiments cancelled immediately. His apprentices cast him out and continued their work, which eventually created the Emblem Heartless: Heartless that seek out other hearts to cast into darkness. The apprentices all became Heartless by the end of their work.
Ansem the Wise feels guilty for what he’s done in the past, which comes down to using children for his research. But he feels worse for what he’d done to Roxas.
Roxas can remember what happened to him during his time in the Organization, but most likely cannot remember Xion. He also has fake memories of his time in Twilight Town, which Ansem used to warp Roxas as a person and throw off the Organization from tracking him down.
Xehanort as Ansem’s apprentice built a room in the lowest basement that resembled the Chamber of Waking that Ventus sleeps in. Aqua’s true Keyblade and Keyblade Armour is kept in there and he will periodically talk to it.
Maleficent is looking for things that seem to be connected to the Master of Masters and Luxu.
Sora was a prime target to become a vessel of darkness for Xehanort’s plan to create the χ-blade. Roxas was also perfect for the role.
Sora has seen Roxas’ memories and has felt his emotions, if only in the sleeping realm. Sora feels some sort of guilt for what happened to Roxas.
Sora did not fully learn the Power of Waking, which is claimed to be needed to save Terra, Aqua, and Ventus. Riku demonstrated its use by saving Sora from his sleep, thus earning himself the title of Keyblade Master.
Sora embarked on a journey at the end of 0.2 to hopefully reclaim his lost strength, including the Power of Waking.
Time doesn’t flow in the Realm of Darkness, so Aqua hasn’t aged a day since she arrived. We’re unsure how the passage of time felt for her, but it seems that after she fought off the Demon Tide, which happened during the end of Kingdom Hearts, she stumbled upon Ansem the Wise, who arrived there after Kingdom Hearts II.
Naminé has spoken to the Lingering Will somehow. We aren’t sure if she met it in person, or by some other means. But she has.
Ventus has some sort of cognizance as to what’s going on around Sora. Although we aren’t sure how conscious he is.
Sora still has Kairi’s good luck charm as of the beginning of Kingdom Hearts III.

Sorry to bother u, but can u tell me what's up with the kingdom key? I know it's special, but I don't know why or what it means
So in all honesty, I still feel like the Kingdom Key’s situation is messy, and hopefully it’s just cause not everything is completely revealed. It may have been in earlier KH when KH was much more simple. But with the X-blade, 0.2, and KH3, I feel like Nomura introduced more questions about it, and is planning on answering those questions by elaborating more on it’s particular significance. But, I could be wrong.
In early Kingdom Hearts (like say, KH1 and CoM) the Kingdom Key’s significance was that it was one of only a few Keyblades in existence (the other two being the Kingdom Key D Mickey gets and the Keyblade of Heart. Riku’s Soul Eater isn’t a keyblade, just a weapon representing Ansem’s hold on him). And the Kingdom Key almost seemed sentient with the way the FF crew talks about it in Traverse Town. KH1 in general did a great job of delivering this mysterious and magical feeling when Sora got it in the first place.
However, while still significant, when KH2 and Days came along with Roxas and Xion, the way the Kingdom Key and Keyblades in general were talked about and addressed really made it seem like just a weapon to collect hearts and that’s it.
Birth by Sleep’s added lore made it seem like Keyblades in general are more common (With Xehanort discussing Keyblades of Light, Darkness, and Heart), and in that way less unique. BUT, it did also introduce the X-blade, which is designed with two Kingdom Keys, so that in-and-of-itself is significant. While this is not confirmed in-game, it’s possible to connect the chain of events of Ventus and Vanitas forming the incomplete X-blade, and because Ven’s heart is joined to Sora’s, it caused the Keyblade he inherited from Riku to take shape as part of the X-blade that Ven had formed before.
However, here’s where it gets messy, as the Ventus/X-blade/Sora connection does not explain the Kingdom Key D that Mickey was able to obtain in the Realm of Darkness that’s just on the “darkside” of Destiny Islands when it’s fallen to darkness. Young Xehanort explains that Keyblades are forged for individual Keyblade wielders, so how Keyblades appear in the Realm of Darkness at the same time (which is also something Master Xehanort states) doesn’t make sense to me personally. We don’t even know if every Keyblade has it’s own specific “twin” in the Realm of Darkness, or only the Kingdom Keys.
Mickey definitely saw the X-blade during BbS, so that could be why he knew the Kingdom Key would have a counter part-- but that doesn’t explain why he knew in the first place that Sora and Riku got the Kingdom Key 10 years later- I don’t even think Mickey met the two at this point? Definitely not Sora...
In fact, why this little rat decided not to mention to Sora that his Keyblade is connected to the X-blade for like two solid years is beyond me lmao. Even in KH3 Mickey could have said something. I wonder if Sora will address the X-blade and the Kingdom Keys, now that Sora has held the X-blade in his own hands.

Part 6: The Keyblade Worf
And now for the main event, the game that truly wrought ruination upon the Kingdom Hearts series: Birth by Sleep.
All that this game had to do was tell its Revenge of the Sith rip-off story and be over with, but Nomura just wouldn't stop at that. He used BBS to force connections to the KH Trinity that didn't need to exist, all so that he could claim it was all part of the "Dark Seeker Saga" the whole time.
Some of it was fine: we got to see how Xehanort lost his memory and was found by Ansem the Wise, how Maleficent went from just the villain of her world to a universal threat, what Radiant Garden was like in its prime, and even what the deal with Castle Oblivion really was. But so many other choices made were just nonsensical.
Sora's newborn heart somehow has the power to connect with Ventus' shattered heart and heal it? And this somehow leads to Sora developing the same face as Ven, and Vanitas to develop the same hairstyle and voice of Sora? Whut!?
And Ventus looks and sounds exactly like Roxas, and when his heart goes to sleep inside of Sora's at the end the implication is that it's that part of Sora's heart that Roxas is made from, and that somehow explains why he looks and sounds the way he does and why he has feelings and why he can dual wield and...Whut!?
Terra meets Riku as a little boy on Destiny Islands and decides to have him inherit his Keyblade just because Riku suddenly is given the same motivation to leave his home as Terra, wanting to be strong in order to protect his friends? Why? Protect them from what, exactly? Riku's motivation was just curiosity and the desire to fulfill some greater destiny out of his sense of insecurity, not to "gain strength to protect what matters". And somehow Terra choosing him to inherit his Keyblade causes him to become the destined wielder of the Kingdom Key, an entirely different Keyblade? Whut!?
Aqua, meanwhile, performs the Rite of Passage on Kairi by accident? Because that still doesn't explain where Kairi’s Keyblade comes from, just how she can wield it. And she then purposefully casts a spell on her necklace so that if she's ever in danger, her heart's light will be led to the light of another to keep her safe, which is supposed to explain how she got to Destiny Islands after Xehanort cast her out into space. Except that we already had an explanation for that, Xehanort wrote about it in his report: it's all about Kairi's connection to the Keyblade wielder due to her status as a Princess of Heart. But now that's being discarded and it's just some nebulous magic from Aqua that did it? Whut!?
Donald and Goofy show up in Yen Sid's Tower and see several Keyblade wielders. But somehow they forget what a Keyblade is by Kingdom Hearts, and they forget that Yen Sid lives in that very tower by Kingdom Hearts II! Whut!?
It was said in KH2 that Mickey banished Pete to another dimension for serious crimes, and that Pete was never supposed to get out from it and only did so because Maleficent freed him. But here, Minnie banishes him due to a petty misdemeanor and it's said to only be a time-out that wouldn't be permanent! And somehow Maleficent instantly thinks that he would be a useful ally to her, all because of a petty misdemeanor? Whut!?
When Sora glares at Xigbar in KH2, Xigbar says "he used to give me that same exact look!" Obviously, this was written to refer to Roxas. But now it refers to Ventus, who glares at him a grand total of ONCE and who is the only one not to fight Braig which means he should have a greater impression of the other two, yet it's Ven that he remembers the most? Whut!?
Lea and Isa show up as teenagers in Radiant Garden, even though nothing in any previous game remotely hinted that Radiant Garden was their home world? And Lea's brief meeting with Ventus is supposed to explain his deep friendship with Roxas? And he had the "Got it Memorized?" catchphrase even back then? Whut!?
Master Xehanort came from Destiny Islands? And somehow years later, Riku has heard stories of when he'd left his home behind as a boy? And now that brief speech Ansem made in the first game that was so obviously talking about Riku is actually talking about Master Xehanort? Whut!?
And then there are all the weird call-forwards that don't make any sense: the black coat of Organization XIII first being worn by Master Xehanort, Ventus waking up in the Land of Departure exactly like Roxas woke up in Twilight Town at the start of KH2, the scene introducing Aqua and Terra being an exact mirror of the scene introducing Kairi and Riku in the original game, the Paopu Fruit somehow being known by Aqua even though Destiny Islands is supposed to be a non-important backwater world, Kairi's grandmother telling the same fairy tale to Kairi, Aqua meeting Sora and Riku and somehow predicting the future of what will happen to Riku while making a literal child swear to keep him safe, and all of the repeated dialogue like Ansem's big Darkness speech, "My friends are my power!", and "Giving up already? C'mon, I thought you were stronger than that!"...an incredibly minor line in the original game that is somehow repeated here twice. WHUT!?
Nomura doesn't understand that just because he connects this game to much better ones or rehashes things from them doesn't mean that it's automatically of that same caliber. There isn't anything clever or meaningful about any of it, and it just makes it feel like the game is compensating for its lack of heart.
This extends to the main characters - Terra, Aqua and Ventus - as well. Just because they're connected to characters we like and are deliberately made to be reminiscent of characters we like, it doesn't mean that they're automatically likable characters. Repeating dialogue and motions from Sora, Riku and Kairi doesn't make them as good as Sora, Riku and Kairi. Constantly talking about what good friends they are rather than showing it isn't going to make us believe in their friendship. The tragedy that this game and the whole Dark Seeker Saga is hinging upon falls flatter than a pancake when it only happens because the main characters are jerks and idiots who lack basic communication skills.
And in the end, even the basic Star Wars knock-off story falters when paired with the KH Trinity, as all of the stuff centered around this ancient Keyblade order, the Keyblade War and the X-Blade are not remotely hinted at in those games. And yet much like Xion, every game following their introduction deals with them in some capacity, even to the point of actively ruining characters and concepts that the KH Trinity introduced which are still inexplicably hanging around. Once Nomura puts something on to the table, he never seems to want to take it off. Look, I love macaroni and cheese, but whenever I have it placed in front of me on a table I ultimately have to finish eating it! If I just keep on eating macaroni and cheese without end, then I'm going to get sick and throw it all up! I'm not sure if this metaphor is landing or not, but hopefully you get the picture. "Too much of a good thing" is very real, but whatever Nomura thinks is good he just wants to keep going forever, even if that means it turns into vomit.

Was it ever explained why Xemnas didn't use a keyblade? Was there something he didn't want MoM to see (through the eye) or did MoM already reclaim it and Xemnas couldn't use it?
this ask got me THINKING so I went to check the wiki and THIS showed up
If the picture is too small and crusty to read, here’s what it says :
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Ultimania, Interviewer: "Roxas, the "Sora + Ventus" Nobody, was able to use a Keyblade. In contrast Xemnas, the "Terra + Master Xehanort" Nobody, wasn't able to use a Keyblade. Why is this?" Tetsuya Nomura: "I'd rather that point remain a mystery. It's possible that he intentionally wasn't using one." [ Translation via Krexia. ]
But if you want my opinion w ELL. CAREFUL FOR KHIII SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT, I GOTTA EXPLAIN THINGS THAT SEEM COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT BUT TRUST ME IT MAKES SENSE
We all know Xenahort is just super op, since he can time travel and do a lot of crazy shit - but I tHINK he never knew about the Master of Masters at all.
Xenahort KNOWS the actual Keyblade War that went down on KH X (not KHux) and he seems to know that there are people who belong into that era, aka the ancient keyblade wielders Xemnas seeked to fill slots in the OrgXIII - hinted to be Demyx, Luxord, Marluxia and Larxene in KHIII. He also knows that the Gazing Eye/No Name is the oldest keyblade in existence - but it’s actual origin ? Not a chance
The reason for this is Luxu.Luxu was MoM’s apprentice, he was given the task to observe as a NEUTRAL party, making sure the Gazing Eye was passed down properly to his own apprentices so MoM could properly predict the future in his time. Xenahort and Eraqus were trained together and their master (probably Luxu himself) CHOSE Xenahort to wield the No Name. Everything Xenahort knows about the Keyblade War, he learnt from his shady travels around the worlds. Luxu is the ONLY one aside from MoM with that sort of knowledge about the keyblade and from what we’ve seen, it’s obvious that he’s loyal to the core and hasn’t said a single thing to anyone about it. Not as Luxu and definitely not as Braig/Xigbar.
So with that explained, we can assume that neither Xenahort and any of his alter versions know about MoM or the No Name’s true goal - meaning Xemnas couldn’t have possibly known enough to plan ahead and prevent MoM from seeing something in particular.
From what i’m reading in the KH timeline, Terra-Xenahort is able to use the No Name and uses it to pretty much fuck shit up and turn Ansem’s apprentices into the funding members of the OrgXIII. But after that ? what the f u cK happens to the keyblade ? ?
Well, YOUNG Xenahort begins wielding it while he time travels all over the place, making it impossible for Xemnas to wield it.
sO long story short, Xemnas probably avoided using a keyblade as a weapon because he would’ve inherited Terra’s - thus revealing his actual identity to pretty much everyone. One could also argue that Terra’s keyblade could awaken Ventus through Roxas and fuck everything up OR he just. Didn’t want to harvest hearts like Roxas and Xion do

Since I’ve seen absolutely no one talk about this, hear me out: Luxord isn’t the Player, he’s Brain and I’ve got the proof right here
The entire thing is under the cut bc it got so long
Brain and Luxord are very similar:
They can be abrasive at times (Luxord attempting to abuse parlay rules to annoy Sora and Jack, and Brain coldly remarking that Ven should grow a spine), but at the end of the day they both mean well (Luxord is friendly to both Roxas and Xion, and then Sora at the end of KH3, while Brain attempts to stop the keyblade war 2.0 from occurring).
Luxord and Brain appear to have a ‘calm, smart, sophisticated’ air around them: Luxord has an extensive vocabulary and references games that require strategy; Brain is the one who made the spirits (requiring science magic things), somehow understands the weird data/real world logic, found out how to travel to another worldline, and as Skuld says, “he’s named Brain for a reason”.
Luxord and Brain like bending the rules: again, Luxord abuses parlay rules to get what he wants, and Brain asks if the rules are set in stone when the dandelion leaders first meet up.
Both Luxord and Brain are the only people to have successfully confused Xigbar/Luxu simply by existing, and catching that guy off guard in general is hard enough. In the secret reports, Luxu expresses confusion when he discovers the virus and their goals and notes that this “was supposed to be done by the books”. He reacts similarly to Luxord during the DLC cutscene, where he watches Luxord teleport himself away, narrows his eyes, tosses the card away, and asks, “The question is, who are you, Luxord?” Again, Luxu expresses genuine confusion for the second time in the entire series, this time because of Luxord.
The reason why Luxord’s powers revolve around time might be because of Brain’s own time-related abilities. Not only did Brain manage to transport Ven, Lauriam, Subject X, and Elrena to the future at around the same time, he also managed to transport himself and other keybladers to the new worldline to continue the keyblade legacy.
This isn’t a similarity, but have you seen Brain’s outfit? It just screams ‘edgy shady gambler’. He’s even got a hat with a feather in it. C’mon now
Connecting Brain from KHUX to Luxord in KH3:
There are a few things we know happened to Brain after KHUX: for example, from Luxu’s Excerpt 2 we know that all five dandelion leaders traveled from Daybreak Town to that other worldline at the same time. We also know that at least one dandelion leader was given Luxu’s keyblade, successfully made it to the other worldline, and passed that keyblade down until it reached Xehanort.
Obviously, neither Ven, Lauriam, or Subject X/Skuld had the keyblade because they’re in the present kh universe, leaving only Ephemer and Brain as candidates. And since it’s implied Ephemer died at the age he’s in during Union Cross, Brain should be the only one who could have inherited Luxu’s keyblade, meaning he should have been the leader that successfully traveled to the worldline, grew up, continue the keyblade legacy, and passed the keyblade down to whatever apprentice he trained.
Even if Brain did travel correctly, how is he in the future now? Simple: After he passed Luxu’s keyblade down, Brain does what Luxu did and releases his heart, moving it from vessel to vessel. He’d be a skilled keyblade master by that point, so he could have learned how to release and move his heart around. He knows that the Second Keyblade War might still happen, so it would make sense why he’d want to continue to live, to see if it’ll actually happen or not. This also explains why Luxord looks nothing like Brain, that’s just another vessel of his.
If you want to stretch it, Eraqus is proof that Brain successfully transported himself to that other worldline and passed down Luxu’s keyblade: Eraqus was said to be a descendent of a Dandelion, and there aren’t that many characters with black hair and black/grey eyes and similar hairstyles.
Also if Brain killed Strelizia then both Brain and Eraqus are 100% willing to murder a child to prevent a war :/
There are similarities between Eraqus and Luxord as well: they both like playing strategy games, they both like bending the rules of said strategy games, and they both say “The game isn’t over until it’s over” word for word (it’s implied eraqus says this in the keystagram post where we see him playing chess). If that doesn’t hint at a connection I don’t know what does
Edit: Also, Eraqus in KH3 says “But a game’s no fun if you know where it’s going”. In KH2, Luxord says, “The fun is in not knowing, isn’t it? What is the point of betting on something when you already know the outcome?”. Again, this implies a connection between the two, which would make sense if Luxord is Brain and Brain is Eraqus’ ancestor
This also could explain why Luxord appears to know more than the other dandelions if Luxord is Brain: if Brain was the only one of the dandelion leaders to have successfully traveled across worldlines, then it would make sense that he’s also the only one knows what’s really going on behind the scenes.
Luxord’s Wild Card:
After you defeat Luxord, he throws Sora a “wild card” that he states “could turn the tables”. Now this part has always kinda confused me, why would he give something like this to Sora, and why doesn’t it ever pop up after this scene. And Luxord says it “could turn the tables”, yet it’s useless in the Keyblade War 2.0. So what could the card “turn the tables” of, and what is the use of the card in the first place?
According to Nomura, when asked what the wild card means, he remarks it might be “the key to Sora’s revival”. We know it doesn’t bring people back to life, if it did, it would have been used like a Kupo Coin and the card never pops up again after that scene. This implies that the card’s purpose is only for Sora’s revival after the events of KH3.
But how could Luxord know what happens to Sora after KH3 and give him the card that will save him from that fate right before he dies? If Luxord is Brain, he probably has a Book of Prophecies, probably the same one that told him about the second keyblade war, which likely has Sora’s fate written inside (the kid is like, one of the most important people behind the keyblade war it has to mention him somewhere).
This is also another instance of Brain/Luxord being a virus: by giving Sora the card that will save him, Brain/Luxord once again attempts to defy fate, this time defying Sora’s personal fate.
Finally, and if nothing else will convince you, consider this: Luxord’s Nobody title is the “Gambler of Fate”. The definition of gamble is to “take risky action in the hope of a desired result”.
In Observations Excerpt 1, Luxu remarks that the virus (strongly implied to be Brain) is making a reckless, or risky, plot to escape to another worldline. In Union Cross, Brain states that he wants to prevent the second keyblade war from happening, and perhaps the reason he’s trying to move to another worldline is to prevent that second war. He’s gambling on using that risky trick to escape to another worldline in the hopes of defying fate, making Brain a gambler of fate.
The Gambler of Fate.
Edit: I was thinking about the theory that Luxord’s real name is Ludor, the first person singular present passive version of ‘Ludo’ which means game, making Ludor a “gamer”, which is why several people thought Luxord’s character really was the player character. After all, the Player’s involvement in the story could put him in a situation where he travels to the other worldline like Elrena (not a dandelion leader) did, which would explain why he’s running around here. But I didn’t believe that Luxord could be the player because he knows too much, while the player character knows so little about the main plot.
Well, maybe the theory is still correct, in some way. I believe that Luxord/Ludor is our avatar, the player character that we move around in KHUX, no question about it. But the actual player, us? The heart of our avatar? We aren’t the ones piloting it around, we haven’t been for a long time. It’s Brain. Our avatar is Brain’s vessel.

I've been thinking a lot about this
It's a very high possibility that Sora just won't get norted, and I think I know why.
It's because his fate will be much, much worse.
I mean, think about it. All the organization members have constantly either deemed him as 1) useless, despite having a weapon they could not wield, or 2) as something that they can use as a means to end, and nothing more.
I think the best example of this is what Xigbar told Sora back in KH2:
Xigbar was most likely referencing the Wayfinder trio (Aqua, Terra, and Ventus) at this point. And honestly, as much as I hate to say this....he wasn't wrong.
Despite their falling out, Aqua, Terra and Ventus were much stronger when compared to Sora. They could hold their own even when they were separated from each other. Even Ventus, with a partially shattered heart, had more abilities generated by his own power in the end than Sora ever did.
All of Sora's special abilities, if you pay attention, are all either 1) Inherited from Ventus and Roxas (possibly Xion as well) or 2) Are abilities he gains from his friends via summonings, the new Disney keyblades and their abilities in KH3, or limits involving Donald, Goofy, and other Disney chracters corresponding to the world he's in.
The difference between Sora and every other hero we've played as is that...he's never really fought alone, successfully. In KH1, he eventually wasn't alone and fought with Donald and Goofy to defeat Ansem. In KH2, he had Riku's help in defeating Xemnas. Meanwhile In Chain Of Memories, he was almost murdered by Replica Riku and Larxene when he went off on his own. In Dream Drop Distance, despite "beating" Xemnas in the end, he still lost because he was alone. He was still kidnapped by the organization, and he would've likely gotten possessed if it hadn't been for Riku, Lea, and Mickey saving him. And because of that, he failed.
Honestly, I think the only reason Xehanort wanted to put his heart inside of Sora was BECAUSE by extension, he would finally have Ventus and Roxas in his grasp again. I just find it too inconsistent otherwise for Xehanort to want to possess Sora even though he calls him a "dull, ordinary boy".
Ventus is the only reason why Sora can wield the keyblade. Roxas on his own was extremely powerful, showing abilities that even Sora didn't have. They were possibly remnants of Ventus's power, not Sora's. Even though he is Sora's nobody, the power didn't originate from there.
That's why I find it so heartbreaking in one of the new trailers when Sora says "I can't do this alone!". Because he literally CAN'T do it alone.
Without his friends, and without Ventus or Roxas....Sora really would just be a regular kid, powerless to help anyone. And I think he knows that.
I'm honestly afraid to see what Xehanort will do to Sora to get Ventus and Roxas back. I have a feeling it won't end well.

The Master of Masters identity I The secret of the black box
Here is my take on this.
This is a very long post and maybe somewhat confused to you, so I divided it into many parts, I’m totally aware of this having flaws somewhere. I’d be glad if somebody helps me research more. I’ll update if there’s more detail come in time.
Behind the Foretellers masks
Luxu’s true identity
Dive to the Heart
The secret movie, Shibuya
Who is the Master of Masters?
This is based on evidences the game provides for us, so I don’t think any of this is meant to be a coincidence.
The MoMs characteristic is particularly playful and the way he speaks very much more like a mature version of Sora. And there’s more than that.
When it is revealed that Sora has more hearts beside his own, Donald teased Sora that he has so much hearts that he can’t bear to count. Who has the same characteristic? The MoM.
The MoM, seemingly, joked that Luxu was thinking he has many hearts that himself can’t even count. Hinting that the MoM and Sora all have the power of hearts connection.
The MoM has 6 disciples connected to his heart, each of them represents for 7 deadly sins :
Ira : Unicorn - Anger (Wrath)
Invi : Snake - Jealousy (Invidia)
Aced : Bear - Sloth (Acedia)
Ava : Fox - Greed (Avaritia)
Gula : Leopard - Gluttony (Gula)
Luxu : Goat - Lust (Luxuria)
Super : Lion - Pride (Superbia). This is the MoM’s name which is engraved on the black box.
--------------------
All the 6 disciples were given their Keyblades by the Master who united them. We could say they, as the Masters hearts, receive his power. The Foretellers situation is extremely similar to the ones who connected with Sora’s heart, however, unline the Foretellers with virtues, the ones connected with Sora’s heart leaning toward the meaning of 7 deadly sins :
Roxas (Anger) : Roxas is easy to get angry, he is a very hot-tempered character. Very quick trying to attack Riku & DiZ who persuaded him return to Sora. Showing data-Sora the real hurt. And he got the Keyblade as Sora’s Nobody.
Namine (Jealousy) : She is, indeed, jealous of Kairi, she can’t stay being alone for so long, that she replaced herself with Kairi inside Sora’s memories in COM. Even she didn’t admit it but that is what her true feeling to Sora. As a Nobody of Kairi’s heart and Sora’s body and soul, Kairi can use the Keyblade after Namine returned to her heart. It is self-understanding that Sora gave Kairi the Keyblade’s power through Namine because she’s connected to his heart.
Ventus (Sloth) : Sleep within 11 years. Ven wasn’t able to use the Keyblade during his training with Xehanort until he merged his heart with Sora’s brand new heart. Xehanort might have known Sora is the Master of Masters heart, which is why he brought Ven to the Destiny Island, so that the MoM could reach to his broken heart and made it whole again. I mean, how does Sora speak to Ven when he was such a baby? It does not sound like a newborn baby at all. The MoM became Sora’s heart when he talked to Ven, Sora is the MoM’s alter-ego. After they joined hearts each other, Ven is able to use his Keyblade, due the MoM bestowed his power as a part of Ven’s heart.
Plus :
We know that Ven used to live in the Age of Fairy Tales (KHX) and was chosen to be a leader in one of Five Dandelions. I’m sure Ven is the chosen one inheriting the Book of Prophecy in mention. What kind of book can shape worlds? I would say it is like the MoM’s heart, well, it is said you can shape worlds through your heart and dream. Same case with Sora’s Journal, which contains everything inside his heart.
Take this into account, the MoM meant Ven would be the one inheriting his heart (aka Sora). There’s one scene Vanitas says to Sora (KH3): “I am the shadow that you cast”, but Vanitas is supposed to be Ven’s darkness before he merged his heart with Sora’s newborn heart. How could he be Sora’s shadow? So due to the fact that Ven inherited the Book of Prophecy, he inheriting the MoM’s heart similar to a spiritual ceremony passing the ability to wield the keyblade. That made Ven’s heart and the MoM’s united as one, it’s why Vanitas was born as Sora and Ven’s shadow at the same time. So Vanitas is also like the MoM’s shadow.
It is dangerous to let anyone else sees the book beside Ven. What if Xehanort discovered this secret? It is strange that Xehanort aimed at Ven from beginning and he made Ven’s heart broken. As the one inherited the Book of Prophecy, the MoM can seek for Ven’s broken heart and combine with him. So there is possiblity the MoM’s heart is what forged the X-blade. Ven + Vanitas = X-blade.
Master Xehanort, the man who gets bored with such a small world. By using Ven, the boy inherited Sora’s heart (the soul of the Book of Prophecy) finally can open the door. As you can see, Ven pointed his Keyblade forward the sky, this action is shaping a totally grand new world thank to Ven’s heart carries the heart of the Book of Prophecy, exactly as Master Xehanort wishes, he wants to get out of a small and empty world, his smile shows you that. Oh, very likely Xehanort is the one causing Sora’s birth in the Destiny Island.
KHI - Coded - DDD
We have the same familiar line “This world has been connected.” All started at the Destiny Island.
KHI : The Real World
Coded : Datascape
DDD : Sleeping Worlds
Isn’t it obvious that Sora is the one who connects every world he goes to, see? Because he is the heart of the Book of Propecies, and the one who writes the books is the MoM. It is outright to you that their hearts are one and the same.
In KHUX, we heard Blaine explaining : Before the Keyblade War, Book of Prophecies pulled the projected worlds from the future, the worlds which are real. Worlds that never real in the first place weren’t being pulled, they stay in the books and still existed, joined to Daybreak Town, only time set in the past, ie you can’t change the events, that is datascape. And after the Keyblade War, these worlds that were once joined together were scattered apart, so in order for “worlds from the future” to be projected into Daybreak Town without the Book of Prophecies, several worlds were converted to data. From real worlds to data worlds. Daybreak Town should be the real world, but a data world phenomenon is happening there. ‘The Grid’ in DDD is an example of a data world within a real world.
Link KHUX World Explanation : https://twitter.com/Daybreak_Town/status/1117926949337174016
So in summary, it’s likely Sora and the others come from the worlds are also data and their datascape is supposed to be ‘datas within a data’!? But this is just still unclear, at least until the Dandelions done with their investigation.
Lea (Greed) : Desire to get his friends back, no matter how it cost, to the point he betrayed the Organization countless times. Lea did pick up Ven’s wooden keyblade in BBS, this act similar to the ceremony to pass the ability to wield the Keyblade. Sora’s heart gave Ven one, then Ven gave to Lea. Lea received the Keyblade when he decided to become a guardian of light.
Xion (Gluttony) : she absorbed almost of Sora’s memories through Roxas and started to become Sora herself. Can use the Keyblade due to her direct connection with Sora’s heart. I always find it strange that Xion was picked to replace Sora as the real Organization, whether she bears Xehanort’s essence or not, there is one holding the Kingdom Key in Scala ad Caelum. So if Xehanort inherited the MoM’s No Name, which means he united with the MoM’s heart and power through the spiritual ceremony. That makes Xion suitable enough, because she was created from Sora’s heart and Sora’s heart is the MoM’s heart.
Vanitas / Xehanort (Lust) : I include both because these two similar in this part. Vanitas always desire to be united with Ven’s heart, to become one soul with him. Vanitas got the Keyblade because he is originally Ven’s heart. After Ven united his heart with Sora, Sora influences on Vanitas too, thus Sora’s heart is the one who gave Vanitas the Keyblade. Xehanort seeks for bodies/vessels to implant his essence, lust for power.
Sora (Pride) : In a positive connotation, Sora’s pride expresses his connection toward hearts. Their choices and actions independent his self-reflection, and a fulfilled feeling of belonging. Sora’s original design is a hybrid-lion, an embodiment of Pride, like the MoM.
--------------------
The MoM bestowed the Keyblades to his 6 disciples, in case those 6 disciples are connected to his heart, or the Five Foretellers are the MoM himself. It is exactly the same with Sora, who bestowed the keyblades power to 6 people who connected to him, 5 among them are Sora himself.
Furthermore, Sora was able to use a Keyblade from the start without being bequeathed by anyone through a spiritual ceremony because he’s naturally the Master of Masters who owned No Name as the most ancient keyblade.
Sora is an unique person who can return to his human form after he became a Heartless and needlessly destroying his Nobody. So if the MoM could give himself a new life form (newborn Sora), why couldn’t Sora? In the MoM’s case, he shaped his life form thank to Ven’s light, as the result they joined hearts each other. As for Sora, he regained his form thank to Kairi’s light. Basically, their hearts can shape everything into their own forms, even a lifeless object or an empty puppet and give them hearts.
The MoM can create Dream Eaters (Chirithy). Sora has a strong relationship with Dream Eaters, he can enter the Realm of Sleep whenever he wishes. So who says the MoM can’t enter the Realm of Sleep and recontruct the worlds called “Unchained Realm”, gathering every remnants of light in order of conserving the balance and erasing the memories of Tragedy? If Sora could time-travel back to the Age of Fairy Tales (KHX) to reset everything and make the world better like he wants.
I’ll give a way how Sora could travel back to the past even if no version of him exist there :
“Worlds from the future” are the worlds that Sora and his friends come from. He can easily go back to the Age of Fairy Tales if his world is converted to data, but that world must be connected to Daybreak Town. As you already knew in Coded, real people also would be able to go inside datascape without having themselves converted to data, like Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pete and Maleficent. If Sora’s datascape is projected as an entrance/portal in Daybreak Town, then it wouldn’t be hard for him going back to such an ancient time. Remember the Destiny Island was hinted to be connected to Daybreak Town (where connects to other worlds according to the Book of Prophecies) in everytime Sora presenting here. And Maleficent hinted us there’s a link between the Book of Prophecies and Sora’s Journal as well.
Anyway, the MoM seems very sinister and sharp, those are the opposites with Sora, but we all know Sora’s growth throughout KH3, his connection with his friends get weaker (100 Acre Wood). After his experiences in the Keyblade War, would his heart and mind still the same like before? He felt loss and he felt that strong connection would lead to some broken hearts, that’s why the Master gives each of his apprentices differrent roles, differrent unions and does not allow them cooperate each other, even making them doubt each other through claiming there’s a traitor. That is the proof showing his mind became twisted, his intention gets darker, it is the mark calls out his growth. So the MoM fits to Sora’s future self.
The Keyblade “No Name” has a lion head, goat horns and dragon wings, the “Gazing Eye” looks like a snake eye. It is a Chimera that has a body of a lion, a goat emerges from its back and a snake as its tail, which also at one point was a symbol of Lucifer the being who represents the sin of Pride. The dragon wings is symbolic of power and influence, and dragon is arguably the most ancient and imposing. Chimera is an organism that contains cells or tissues from two or more different species. The animal being a Chimera also fits with Sora having many hearts joined to his as he isn’t just a single person any more.
The sight of a Chimera was an omen for disaster. As in KH universe, it may describes a strong connection will bring disaster, as Luxu warned Sora “if you put too much that power in one place, some of those hearts might ended up breaking.” This happened during his first visit of Keyblade Graveyard (KH3), however, the MoM carefully orchestrated everything by using his connections towards the Foretellers to gain his goal, a mastermind plan.
Its keychain is symbolic of a six-winged angel. A six winged angel is a seraph or seraphim. They are heavenly attendants to God on his throne. It also represents for Lucifer as the "Morning Star" and the strongest seraph, the highest ranked angel serving God prior his fall from grace.
Lucifer’s human element is wisdom or applied knowledge, with time, study and practice it is believe that man can attain the Lucifer state, this only through applied knowledge or wisdom. By all the mean, through the learning of wisdom, ‘an ordinary boy’ like Sora can also attain Lucifer state, transforming into the being called ‘the Master of Masters’.
The ‘Gazing Eye’ is a symbolism regard of ‘All-Seeing Eye’ :
The Eye of Providence (or the all-seeing eye of God) is a symbol, having its origin in Christian iconography, showing an eye often surrounded by rays of light or a glory and usually enclosed by a triangle. It represents the eye of God watching over humanity (the concept of divine providence).
One of the key symbols of the New World Order (NWO) is the eye. Jesus said in Matthew 6:22, “The light of the body is the eye...” It is through the eye that light, or in a spiritual sense, KNOWLEDGE, enters the body. This is the spiritual sense of the word. There are 33 different degrees in the Masonic order. Each new level entitles the participant to acquire additional occult KNOWLEDGE. Occultists view Lucifer as the good god who gives knowledge.
The All-Seeing Eye symbolizes Lucifer, but it represents the spiritual knowledge of good and evil which the serpent promised to Eve if she disobeyed God. This knowledge includes the knowledge that Satan is the god of this world, who rewards them that serve and worship him (Matthew 4:8-10). The average person is woefully ignorant of spiritual matters, because they do not know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior (1st Corinthians 2:14-16). This is why tens-of-thousands of celebrities, corporate big shots, religious leaders and famous people flash El Diablo signs, darkening one of their eyes (see below) and displaying occult pyramids and eyes on their works. Sadly, most Christians are also ignorant, because they are not interested in the truth.
The eye is symbolic of secret societies; but moreover, the eye represents the forming New World Order and the rulers of the darkness of this world (Ephesians 6:12), and ultimately Satan himself.
Carefully notice that the New World Order is symbolized with ONE eye; but God gave us TWO eyes to see the truth for ourselves if we truly want to see it. Think about that.
He, being the Master of Masters has an eye capable to see the future, the ‘Gazing Eye’ has the same meaning with the ‘Eye of Providence’, which is believed to be the eye of Lucifer. The ‘Gazing Eye’ surrounded by keys and enclosed by the Keyblade ‘No Name’. So he is like a God watching over all the future of humanity, desire to see how they would guide the keys more than the fate of the world. In other words, the MoM’s true purpose is establish a ‘New World Order’ after the Keyblade War.
Doves flying in the Station of Awakening has a meaning :
The dove was associated with one of the mother figures, Venus. Lucifer’s planetary element is Venus, Lucifer being known as the “Morning Star” or first star of morning, otherwise known as Venus. Venus, known as the “Planet of Love” represents the beauty of Lux Ferre (Latin for light bearer/bringer or Lucifer).
The dove is Lucifer’s animal symbol when he was an angel, whose real name is Helel (Shining Star or Morning Star). He was created to be the highest spiritual power of heaven.
The dove is a symbol of the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, because of Matt. 3:16 "And when Jesus had been baptized, just as he came up from the water, suddenly the heavens were opened to him and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. " NRSV.
Btw, the “End of Pain” Keyblade (DDD) obtained after you completing all Special Portals has a similar design to “No Name” and it looks similar to Sora’s outfit design in KH3 :
Its animal is a ram and the keychain looks like a butterfly.
The Ram is a male of the sheep and allied animals. The Ram Christian Symbol represents protection as the ram protected the herd and also symbolises sacrifice as the ram was one of the first animals to be sacrificed on alters, hence their Latin name Aries which comes from aris meaning "alters".. It is a symbol for Christ taken from the Old Testament.
In KH case, it might referred Sora is a sacrifice for his friends sake and Riku is a protection for Sora as his Dream Eater.
In many cultures the butterfly is associated with the soul – further linking our meaning of faith with the butterfly.
In Greek myth, Psyche (which literally translates to mean “soul”) is represented in the form of a butterfly. Befittingly, Psyche is forever linked with love as she and Eros (the Greek god of love, also known in Roman myth as Cupid) shared an endlessly passionate bond together – both hopelessly in love with the other.
Also, the design of the inner of the butterfly looks like flowers petals with pink color, and flowers link to the design of Kairi’s keyblade. The butterfly keychain is associated with the soul, meaning Sora and Kairi shared an endlessly passionate bond together and very possible in love with the other.
In Christianity, the butterfly symbolizes the resurrection of Christ.
Beside that, the End of Pain keychain is attached a gazing eye in it, which is noteworthy, because we merely see the MoM and Foretellers keychains having gazing eyes so far. And since “No Name” keychain is a six-winged being, this may be a reference to ‘Revelation's four living beings’ :
Revelation 4:6-8 New International Version (NIV)
Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal.
In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back. The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying:
“‘Holy, holy, holy
is the Lord God Almighty,’
who was, and is, and is to come.”
The MoM’s animal symbol is a lion and this refers he is a lion with 6 wings and covered with eyes (in this case, the gazing eye). With this meaning, the Keyblades have more than one gazing eye must be related to MoM or they’re part of the MoM’s essense. And remember 6 winged-being also represents for seraphim, extension of Lucifer’s symbol. The lion and the gazing eye on “No Name” all have bright blue eyes, it is the MoM’s eyes color.
Sora has the same bright blue eyes and Sora’s embodiment is also a lion. His theme is same with MoM as Lucifer is the “Morning Star”, a Light Bearer, who is a six-winged angel, the strongest seraph. Since I’ve explained 5 Foretellers are the MoM’s vessels, same situation with Sora, who also got 5 vessels containing his essence. This must be the reason all of them (the MoM/Sora and Foretellers) has a ‘gazing eye’ attached on their keychains.
Lucifer’s color is blue, blue being the color of the sky and water representing that Lucifer is all around and within us. That Lucifer is the prime element/energy that motivates and cultivates our world. The blue’s literally linked to Sora, as his name in japanese means ‘sky’ (Sora = 空 = sky). It’s very fit to him being the MoM’s incarnation. His keyblade ‘End of Pain’ has similar design to ‘No Name’, which Riku can also wield as Sora’s Dream Eater.
‘End of Pain’ Keyblade’s design can also be viewed as a Gargoyle (Ram Horned Gargoyle with Demon Wings).
Gargoyles are figures often carved into the architecture of old churches. Some believe gargoyles on a church were meant to ward off evil; it’s also possible that the gargoyles symbolized evil spirits, monstrous entities, and damned souls. The thinking was that the church offered spiritual safety for those who accepted its authority, but outside the church was spiritual danger. The gargoyles were thus a warning to the populace that it was better to be inside the church than outside. It’s also possible that the thinking behind gargoyles was to create a symbolic representation of hell; again, the outside of the church was contrasted with the inside.
Describing Sora was inside of hell and Riku was outside of hell, in order to fighting off evil from Sora’s nightmare.
This might be a stretch but I think the blade of ‘No Name’ symbolizing Gemini zodiac sign :
Gemini means “the twins” in Latin. A Gemini is a mix of the yin and yang, so they’re represented perfectly by the twins. They can easily see both sides of an issue, a wonderfully practical quality.
So since the lion symbolizing Sora and the goat symbolizing Xehanort, Gemini is known for having two opposite personalities that converge in one soul, the Chimera aka the MoM or rather Soranort. Gemini also fits Sora very well for being empowered by the presence of others hearts inside him, like The Lovers fills his need.
Gemini’s glyph looks like the Roman numberal for two because, as you know, a Gemini thinks there’s nothing quite as sad as being lonely. Like its ruling tarot card, the Lovers, Gemini is as a symbol for opposing forces like light and dark or true and false, each of which can’t exist without the other.
As ‘No Name’ had been passed through generations, like a way that the MoM trying to communicate his inheritors with its power, so ‘No Name’ gives the way they communicate and absorbs great amounts of information through the Gazing Eye watching over the future of humanity. It identifies the MoM’s mind and how well he can relay messages to others carrying ‘No Name’.
The name Sora (空) also stands for 空中, meaning air. And how well it fits to an obverser of the world around them, like the MoM, as well as the sky always connects everything.
Yellow is typically attributed to Gemini, which certainly fits its sunny, friendly personality, it does match with Sora’s personality ultimately.
The Gemini constellation represents the twins Castor and Pollux (Polydeuces), also known as the Dioscuri in ancient times, in Greek mythology. Gemini is known mainly for its two bright stars, Castor and Pollux, the neutron star Geminga, and several notable deep sky objects. One is immortal, the other mortal. Herein lies the very cool duplicity of Gemini.
Take that Sora being Castor and Xehanort being Pollux in our situation, as Luxu (the first incarnation of Xehanort) places his heart into vessels in order to continue living throughout centuries, so Luxu is kind of immortal twin and Sora doesn’t, so he is mortal twin, therefore, they fit to The Twins symbol. As the event of DDD shown, Sora witnessing his own dream, everytime he “dies”, he always being brought back to life, as if someone having the power of time reversing to save his life and knowing how much Sora has been repeating this again and again like deja-vu, that person is no one else but Young Xehanort. So they’re, no doubt, have a strong connection like the twins brothers, Castor and Pollux.
One interesting thing is if you try to invert Sora and Xehanort’s colors, you would have their inverted colors match the others original colors :
Sora’s inverted colors : white (mix with blue) hair + yellow eyes + dark skin
YX’s inverted colors : brown hair + blue eyes + light skin
Plus, blue and yellow colors mix together would create green, and the Gazing Eye has a green surrounding the pupil as well. Sora and Xehanort are very similar to Gemini, they’re like yin and yang, light and dark, two sides of one coin, two personalities of one person.
Gemini also represents for Ventus and Vanitas being The Twins, as their combined hearts giving birth to sort of yin and yang symbol, Ven being the pure light and Vanitas being the pure darkness :
Extreme similar to Sora and Xehanort’s union would’ve made a perfect yin and yang symbol.
When Sora’s new heart reached to Ven’s light and became one soul with him as one pure light, and also thank to Sora’s light, Ven’s heart was mended to becoming whole as an individual heart again in KH3.
Link gif : https://giphy.com/gifs/hQocbtrfymNPxxMsUy/html5
The dove is the symbol of Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is referred to as "the Lord, the Giver of Life" in the Nicene Creed, as Sora’s heart gave Ven the second change of life. Thus Sora’s heart is like a universal creator of giving life to everything.
And Vanitas, being the pure darkness, reached to Xehanort’s side after being defeated by Ven :
Vanitas connects to Xehanort by soul and heart, as the part of yin (dark). Just like how Ven has a strong bond with Vanitas, Xehanort has a strong bond with Sora in similar way. They both make a balance of light and dark, which is the inseparableness of life. A human made of 50% good and 50% bad. The duality. The Twins (Gemini).
The Foretellers animal masks and Keyblade animals also represent their sins. Luxu is the only one receiving “No Name” from the Master, as Luxu’s sin is ‘Lust’ whose animal is a goat, which also resides in “No Name” as the lion with goat horns. They both formed a secret relationship, that Luxu and the MoM’s connection just like Xehanort and Sora.
The head’s shape of ‘No Name’ looks similar to an eagle spreading wings :
In early Christianity the eagle was seen as a symbol of hope and strength, representing salvation. The eagle appears twice in the book of Revelation; both times in a context that suggests it is on the side of God.
The eagle is the chief over all the winged creatures. Eagle conveys the powers and messages of the spirit; it is man's connection to the divine because it flies higher than any other bird. The eagle brings the message of renewed life because it is associated with the east winds - the direction of spring, dawn and rebirth.
As an ancient symbol the eagle is associated to solar and the Greeks regarded it as the sacred emblem of Zeus and as the highest god by the Druids. For those fighting for freedom, the Eagle's ability to fly high to the tops of mountains and silently into valleys, makes it associated to a free spirit. In myth and legend, the Eagle represents the Sun God who symbolizes light and power fire and water as its elements. It is also a symbol of spiritual power and courage because it does not fear thunder and lightning.
Eagle is spiritual symbol of the ruler of the skies. As eagle soars through skies... he owns the skies, he is the ruler of the skies as he is one of the largest birds capable of taking flight.
An eagle flies in the sky and Zeus is the god of the skies. An eagle is a very fierce, majestic, strong bird and a ruler of the universe would want a symbol that matches him and Zeus is fierce and strong.
Who fits to the “sky” symbol more than Sora?
Symbolism of ‘sky’ and ‘ReMind’
About the traitor in KHUX :
The Foretellers Book of Prophecies all missing a page which divulges the info about the traitor. The most suspicious person who owns the full book, as well as the Lost Page, is the Master of Masters only, who plotted everything.
The traitor in question is the one who bears the sigil and they are unable to permit disharmony. In other words, they can’t accept the unbalance between light and dark (sounds very similar to Master Xehanort). That’s why the traitor was trying to end the world by starting the Keyblade War, which is the Master of Masters doings, who sow seeds of doubt on his disciples. Ava seems to know who this text is talking about but she’s hard to believe it.
I have a feeling the Foretellers all cast their suspicious on the MoM but they just don’t want to believe it since they wholeheartedly trust their Master’s teachings.
It is clear that the MoM is the traitor who wants to preserve the balance between light and dark, which is why each of unions have to act alone and trust no one but themselves. Remind me of the loss in Sora’s past, he put too much light in one place and unfortunately, those hearts lack the balance to resist darkness, it is the reason their hearts were easily torn apart by heartless. And the MoM fully acknowledged this as if it was his past experiences.
Also, the MoM’s name is engraved on the black box, ”X Super”. The MoM represents for the sin of Pride by the lion’s head Keyblade (No Name) and in Latin : Pride = Superbia.
What about the “X” stands before his name? The sigil X seems to be a symbol for the MoM which ties close to his name. Therefore, the Master of Masters has full potential to be the traitor in question.
The name of Lucifer, the embodiment of Pride reveals some point :
Lucifer means Light Bringer, from the Latin lux “light” and ferre “to bear or bring.” The word Lucifer is found in only one place in the Bible — Isaiah 14:12 — but only in the King James and related versions: “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! . . .” In other translations we find: “O shining star of the dawn!” (Moffatt) or “O morning-star, son of the dawn!” (Hebrew Bible). The King James Version is based on the Vulgate, the Latin translation of Jerome. Jerome translated the Hebrew helel (bright or brilliant one) as “Lucifer,” which was a reasonable Latin equivalent. And yet it is this Lucifer, the bright one or light bearer, that came to be understood by so many as the name for Satan, Lord of Darkness.
Sora has always been a hero of light, a Light Bearer aka Lucifer. And the word lux (aka light) in Lucifer’s name which bears the letter X on it, so essentially, light is integrally linked to the sigil X.
In DDD, before fighting Xemnas, he says to Sora “As the Flash bears the sigil, so your name shall be known as that of a recusant.” He referred Sora’s flash or light (meaning lux in latin) contains the sigil X, this also links to the MoM whose name including a recusant’s sigil : X Super. It basically confirms Sora and the MoM are one and the same.
And one more thing is the boxes colors seem to match Sora’s clothes as well, especially in DDD :
Sora wears black and red clothes, and bears the sigil X on his chest, which matches the box with same colors. And the inner of the mark looks very much like a lion’s head, which also fits well with Sora’s spiky hair.
Stretch the meaning of the colors :
The color black symbolizes suffering and death in the Bible.
Red symbolizes atonement, sacrifice, life, death, and flesh.
The color white is the presence of all the light in the visible spectrum.
The color white is the color of the sigil X on Sora’s shirt, it is the symbol of lux/light in this case. The red indicates Sora will voluntarily sacrifice for anyone as a hero of light and the black symbolic of his death or in other words, the expiry of the light, as the white of X (lux) lies in the black of death. As in- light falls into darkness.
There are a total of 13 spikes that point out the inner and 7 spikes of the inside. 13 darknesses and 7 lights forging the X-blade, the counterpart of the true Kingdom Hearts. It alludes to Sora being the personification of the X-blade and also the true Kingdom Hearts.
Furthermore, Sora’s hair shape is extremely suitable for the pattern of the X-blade, both shaping into a triangle :
I think this pattern is a symbol of Halo. Halo, also called nimbus, in art, radiant circle or disk surrounding the head of a holy person, a representation of spiritual character through the symbolism of light. It does pretty fit to Sora being the symbolism of light and also the X-blade personification.
Besides, talk about X-blade and Ultima Keyblades, I think their shapes taking the form of Phoenix’s wings :
The mythical phoenix animal totem is the keeper of the fire in all of creation. It represents transformation, death, and rebirth in its fire. As a powerful spiritual totem, the phoenix is the ultimate symbol of strength and renewal. As both a fire and solar symbol, the phoenix animal guide is symbolic of the sun, which “dies” in setting each night only to be reborn in rising the next morning. In this sense, it never truly dies; rather, it is an immortal creature continually rising from the ashes. All of its attributes stay on theme with these ideas. In addition to the above mentioned traits of power, transformation, rebirth and life, the phoenix spirit totem is also widely regarded as a prominent symbol of season, coherence, longevity, imagination and protection.
The phoenix’s ability to sacrifice itself willingly to death only to be reborn was a strong representation of Jesus for Christians. Even up until the Middle Ages, people of this region associated the phoenix in ashes with Christ dying on the cross and returning from the dead after three days.
The legendary phoenix is a large, grand bird, much like an eagle or peacock. It is brilliantly coloured in reds, purples and yellows, as it is associated with the rising sun and fire. Sometimes, a nimbus will surround it, illuminating it in the sky. Its eyes are blue and shine like sapphires. It builds its own funeral pyre or nest, or ignites it with a single clap of its wings. After death, it rises gloriously from the ashes and flies away.
So if the Ultima Keyblade is Sora’s strongest weapon as the figure of the Phoenix folding down its wings, then the X-blade is highly possible his true Ultima weapon as the Phoenix with wings out stretched and also associated with Jesus on the cross. The Phoenix always being resurrected from its ashes and never truly dies, it will be reborn over and over, the Phoenix represents the idea that the end is only the beginning. It seems like KH3 is the end of Sora’s journey with his disappearance, in fact, it is a fresh beginning for a new chapter.
Read about Ultima Weapons reference to Kairi’s keyblade here.
Also, I found an interesting info that might be the origin of X-blade, as well as how the true Kingdom Hearts was created in the first place :
God promised Abraham that if he found only twenty righteous people in Sodom and Gomorrah, he would not destroy both cities. Solomon spent 7 years building the house of God in Jerusalem and another 13 years building his own home for a total number of 20 years. After he had completed both buildings, Solomon gave Hiram, the king of Tyre, twenty cities in the land of Galilee.
If you take Sora as the thirteen darkness. The number XIII of one tarot card, it symbolizes “Death”. The tarot card “Death” means : Endings, Severe illness, Profound change, Letting go of attachments, Failure, Mortality.
All of these words describe the major turning point of Sora’s fate. Especially his fate in KH3 : his ending, his mortality, his loose of connections towards everyone he loves... ect...
Death Tarot Card Meanings and Description :
The Death card shows the Messenger of Death – a skeleton dressed in black armour, riding a white horse. The skeleton represents the part of the body which survives long after life has left it; the armour symbolises invincibility and that death will come no matter what. Its dark colour is that of mourning and the mysterious, while the horse is the colour of purity and acts as a symbol of strength and power. Death carries a black flag decorated with a white, five-petal rose, reflecting beauty, purification and immortality and the number five representing change. Together, these symbols reveal that death isn’t just about life ending. Death is about endings and beginnings, birth and rebirth, change and transformation. There is beauty in death, and it is an inherent part of being alive.
A royal figure appears to be dead on the ground, while a young woman, child and bishop plead with the skeletal figure to spare them. But, as we all know, death spares no one.
In the background, a boat floats down the river, akin to the mythological boats escorting the dead to the afterlife. On the horizon, the sun sets between two towers (which also appear in the Moon Tarot card), in a sense dying each night and being reborn every morning.
As applying to KH meaning of ‘death’, like Sora’s disappearance in KH3. This card does not foretell physical death, but deaths of other kinds: spiritual, mental, emotional. While it is associated with foreboding and doom, Death Arcana also symbolizes metamorphosis and deep change, regeneration and cycles. So the fact that Sora misused the power of waking to put everyone’s heart back to the original states meaning the fate has dealt his Death, but it is the path of his choosing whether to avert or accept the fate that allowed him to go so far, hinting that Death may be Sora's true arcana.
However, while Death depicts inevitable change arising from endings, it is important to understand the card also holds the seeds of something new; new life imagery is as abundant in the Death card as images of endings. Therefore, while things inevitably end, they also clear the way for something new. With this mean, Sora completed a chapter in his life, putting the past behind him and creating a whole new life for himself. Free himself from a past that no longer serves him well and proceed toward the future.
And one more thing is Death tarot’s element being Water. Like if someone falls in the state of sleep and find themselves drowning in water or darkness, which also mean ‘death’ is getting close to them.
That being said, the Darkside made of water symbolizes Sora’s death as he stepping in the Final World (where I believe Kairi’s heart was there too after she was taken by the swarm of shadows). And after being struck by Xehanort, Kairi’s body turned into completely water, same situation applies to Xion (being Kairi in Sora’s memories), whilst they were touching ‘death’. Though, I think Kairi and Xion’s deaths are the exceptional case, because Kairi is the most special one to Sora. Then like, they share one soul / heart, making her ‘death’ too, having the form of water, similar to him. So on, the Darkside merely got its upper in water and the lower part is black, meaning Sora hadn’t completely died yet due to Kairi holding him back to this world as she was staying with him in that Darkside form.
“Some say “kye”, but the meaning is the same. Death... A letter that spells endings.”
Exactly the same meaning with ‘Death’ arcana. Spelling the ending of Keyblade War, including Sora’s ending, thus, ‘X’ tied close to Sora’s fate. It is not a coincidence Xehanort picked Sora being the thirteen member to fulfill his goal. The number XIII is the ‘Death’ arcanas number. Sora sacrified his life to save everyone, which in turn, spelled out the ending for him but also a new beginning for the world, as Master Xehanort’s wish is to restart the world to its original state began in darkness, also a new beginning for everything, a new start.... so this means Master Xehanort actually the one who won in the end, all of this already decided in his plan.
Let’s connect the dots :
X Super = Lux Superbia = Lucifer Pride = MoM = Sora
Another meaning is Lux also stands for Luxu, full name is Luxuria (Lust). And “Lust” is the embodiment of Xehanort’s sin, because the goat’s head symbolizes Young Xehanort’s Keyblade and Master Xehanort’s chess piece and his armor (in Scala ad Caelum) also have the form of a goat-head. Therefore :
X Super = Luxu Superbia = Xehanort MoM = Xehanort Sora
Btw, Xehanort or ‘No Heart’ without the letter X in anagram has different meanings. As in- ‘Another’ or ‘A Thorne’. Thorne comes from the Old English or Old Norse words which mean thorn.
’Xehanort Sora’ means ‘Another Sora’, or ‘A thorn in Sora’s heart’ or ‘A thorn in the lion’s paw’. Indicating the MoM is Another Sora with twisted mind. He’s certain that you can’t change destinies, no matter how hard you tries, as he said he just need the world after prophecy, no need the world before it and he was waiting for THAT future comes. Xehanort (A Thorne) has always been a thorn under Sora’s paw, under Sora’s control and also causing the pain for Sora. It basically confirms the MoM coaxed Luxu (the previous incarnation of Xehanort) into fulfilling the future, and no Book of Prophecy for him causing any paradox. Ordinarily, a paradox is impossible since we were informed that destiny can’t be altered in any way and we all know that multi-worldline can be contructed within KH universe.
To be more specific, the laws of causality do not allow contradiction to occur. If the result of the event - the effect - is changed, the event itself - the cause - also changes to prevent a paradox. Whenever a major event causes divergence to change, the timeline is reconstructed to prevent paradoxes from occurring. For example, let’s say that a major event causes this worldline to diverge into a new worldline, call it worldline B. On worldline B, Sora won his battle against Xehanort. As the timeline is recontructed, all of your memories of the tragedy and light expiry will disappear, to be replaced by memories of you doing something else. In other words, by changing the present, you change the past. And it should be impossible for you to retain memories of a previous worldline. Unless you too are a time traveler. Young Xehanort is an example of a time-traveler, that’s why he keeps the memories of everything Sora has done when he altered the present, including how many time Sora was stucked in time-loop.
I’m thinking that by changing the present of his friends hearts being torn apart, Sora even altered the past of this timeline. His doing did reconstruct the entire timeline from past to present, that would be sense about Young Xehanort playing chess in Scala ad Caelum looks younger than Young Xehanort in DDD who still lived in the Destiny Island. Because they are Xehanorts from different-worldlines.
Unless you let your past self knowing about you in the future, seeing what you do, well yes, that could cause a major time paradox. Because of that, the MoM doesn’t give Luxu a copy of the Book of Prophecy to preventing Luxu would divulge that info to Sora (the MoM’s past self). Plus, the MoM doesn’t want to let Master Xehanort know that himself (as Sora) can overwrite realities in some way, so this means except Young Xehanort, no one else knows Sora changing the past. The MoM just needs the fate of the world come after prophecy, after all. It is a loop. A complex conflict between Sora and Xehanort, they are in quantum entanglement until the cycle is broken. Luxu has a connection to Xehanort, since he is responsible for passing down ‘No Name’ to his apprentices through ages. And the MoM has a strong connection to Sora. In other words, the two of them is like two sides in one coin. Sora is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.
The fact that the black box is eerily similar to DDD Sora must mean something... Why Sora materializes his dreams inside the Realm of Sleep and why Riku could gain the ability to dive in Sora’s dream as his Dream Eater? Remember Sora’s dreams are EXTREMELY similar with the Sleeping Worlds that can also be unlocked through Sleeping Key Holes. Not to mention Sleeping Worlds are the worlds that fall into darkness. So does this mean Sora’s heart has always been in the state of sleep from the start? Those are suspicious situations, no matter how you think of it. And remember what Young Xehanort told Riku :”How did you get here? By choice or change? You cannot control what you’re not aware of. This wakeless sleep will be your prison... to wander forever” sounds very fishy. He’s wondering why Riku was sent to Sora’s dream, more than that, why does he say for sure as if Sora has been in a wakeless sleep and will never waking up? He even said Sora’s heart’ll sleep forever in darkness and no way for him returning to the original world, Sora being the 13th darkness is already decided, what’s destined to be happen can’t be changed. This guy knows a lot of things about Sora that no one does. And consider that Sora went to the Final World at the start of KH3 and some strange situation leads Riku suddenly got a new haircut, did timelines swap? ...possibly something happened between those timelines that leads to a divergence of universe?
Continue from here : How do worldlines work in KH universe?
And there Sora’s words expressing his feelings after the ending :
“They can take your world.”
Their world was plunged into darkness in the Keyblade Graveyard.
“They can take your heart, cut you loose from all you know.”
By abusing the power of waking, Sora used all of his heart to save every hearts connected to him. Per the result, he was cut loose from all of his connections. This is what the Organization wanted, isolate Sora’s heart from all he knows.
“But if it’s your fate, then every step forward will always be a step closer to home.”
“Home” here means ‘Shibuya’ in the secret ending, right? Due to the fact Sora and the MoM were in that same place after Sora disappeared, indicates that was their ‘home’ before they went apart.
Now think about it, the MoM kept saying “The thing about me disappearing is not decided” until all of his apprentices actually understood their roles, then the Foretellers started the Keyblade War, after that time, the MoM truly disappeared. EXTREMELY similar to Sora, who also disappeared after the Keyblade War. Sora and the MoM share the same fate.
---------------------------------
What’s inside the black box?
The Book of Prophecy, or rather, the MoM’s heart. Similar situation to Sora’s journal, KH Coded does explain this :
The Book of Prophecy and the MoM’s heart are deeply connected. It is why I said the book and the MoM’s memories / heart are one and the same.
What was locked inside the box is, likely, the MoM’s memories. Or rather, the MoM locked his old memories away. The heart locked everyone important to him, it is Sora.
Sora’s journal and the Book of Prophecy all can create data-scape, like “shaping worlds”.
As the journal and the Book of Prophecy represent their hearts, Sora’s heart is similar to the MoM, they all can create events or even worlds that not yet take place. The MoM shapes the world through the Book of Prophecies. Sora overwrites realities or shapes a new worldline. In other words, both can create a new reality.
There’s more reference than that :
The covers of the Book of Prophecies have the mark of a demon-wing and an angel-wing on each side, and the heart shape inbetween them. Riku’s “Way to Dawn” Keyblade also has an angel-wing and a demon-wing with its heart-shape keychain. This decribes the balance between light and dark (yin-yang) and the MoM definitely requires the balance of all the worlds.
Sora shaped the Sleeping Worlds through his dream and Riku dives in Sora’s dream, since both of them are the necessary of making sure the worlds wouldn’t lack the balance. And due YX split the worlds, they had to separate each other. During this time, both worlds exist parallel together and they can all be viewed as Meta-Worlds.
The black box works same with Schroedinger's CatBox in a meta-way. Until the box is opened, multi-worlds/possibilities all exist at the same time and when the cat is revealed, only one state will become true.
The universe of Kingdom Hearts held in Meta dramatizes the struggle between consistent histories and the re-coherence of opposing observers into one 'true' observation. The black box does not exist until the end of the Keyblade War, as Maleficent states :
“I mean the box does not exist now. Light and darkness are fated to clash. A Keyblade War is upon us. We need only wait for that destined moment. No matter the victors, the box will be revealed.”
That is the moment one history becomes the truth inside the black box (because the Book of Prophecy shaping it through Sora’s dream). Sora altered the fate of light from being expired by shaping his dream as an opposing observer of the former reality into one ‘true’ observation : Xehanorts losed in the Keyblade War and his friends were saved.
This message is trying to tell you that “The future in the Book of Prophecy is already seen by your eyes, but you are the ones who shape your dreams and dive along with it, in order to make it becomes a new truth. A new future.”
Also, Luxord mentioned “the box contains hope”. Easy to see that, because it can create a new future. “In every heart, there’s hope.” - Sora (San Fransokyo).
Sounds familiar with Pandora’s box :
According to Greek legend, the first woman, Pandora, was actually sent as a curse to Zues' men (See, you knew it was true, guys) and was given a present upon her marriage. The present was a box that she was told never to open. Needless to say her curiosity got the better of her (like eating forbidden fruit) and she unleashed eight demons unto the world. The first seven being the seven deadly sins, and the last, which she managed to capture, was hope.
The box contains a heart, the MoM (aka Sora)’s heart. Sora is the Hope that looking for the light in the darkness, one absorb despair and return it to hope.
In short : Sora’s heart = the Book of Prophecy = the MoM’s heart.
The Master of Masters is like the creator of Kingdom Hearts universe, he wrote the entire book and make sure it goes along well with his script without any mistake. His eye can see through the future, none of the events beyond his Gazing Eye, so he is like an Omnipresent being, the God of Kingdom Hearts. Sora is the only one who can perform reality-warping / rewrite the script of the MoM, so he is indeed at the level of God. It is self-aware to see that they are the same person, because only the creator himself is entitled to rewrite his script for whatever he wishes to change.
More crazy twist : inside the box is the entire Kingdom Hearts universe we have been witnessing. It doesn’t sound so surprise since we all know that the book can truly make up an entire world, like a fairy tale. Some evidences showing this is : when Luxu was asked what his mission is, he looked at the box and said “it’s a long story”. So we can guess that the events he has been travelling all lying inside the box. Luxu actually disappeared in the box, that’s why the MoM had to reveal the secret of the box to Luxu and also why Luxu brought it along with him before he disappeared and reappeared again with the box beside him at the Keyblade Graveyard.
The MoM set everything in motion beforehand for his younger self going to the future and finish it for the MoM returning in Shibuya. The X-blade returned to Sora (the MoM), which forged from “No Name”, presumedly it would turn back into “No Name” after Sora closed Kingdom Hearts. It is why Luxu could take it back in the Secret Ending. And yet, Verum Rex’s maybe one of the worlds that never existed in timeline that Blaine mentioned, same as we got Wreck-It-Ralph in KHUX, the worlds of video games now in account of breaking 4th wall and were connected to the data-world within the real world. They’re gonna bring up more and more layers of fiction here.
The Book of Prophecy stored inside the box is part of plan to conserve the MoMs old memories and possible to come back in the future by putting his own memories back and revived. I think 'Shibuya’ is not a world pulled from Book of Prophecies, but a video game connected with some data-world, just like Wreck-It-Ralph, and it probably influences on the real world if they’re gonna make it becomes a ‘break 4th-wall’ phenomenon. The reason why the MoM and Sora ended up in ‘Shibuya’ together might because he was separated from Sora’s heart after he overusing PoW, possibly he would merge with Sora (the memories he locked away) to be completed. To that end, the MoM would be awaken and return to his apprentices.
Also, who is back in the Secret Ending? Luxu and 4 Foretellers. It is a sign that the reincarnated MoM did summon his disciples. Sora overused the Power of Waking to saving the hearts connected to him (aka the MoM) and that brought all of them back. As Luxu told Sora “Accept the power you’re given. Find the hearts joined to yours.” Yes, Sora follows his heart and called Luxu and the Foretellers hearts back through the Power of Waking because he is the MoM’s heart. Sora, the Hope carries the Foretellers moving forward the future.
