it’s hard if you do what i do (i’m not implying my job is hard okay) and read like any reddit thread on the subject because all you read is how your job is a waste of tax money, should be abolished, how you’re just a dancing monkey, and then if you want to learn how to use your skills to get into a new job, you just see a bunch of comments that are like “if you haven’t been getting a masters, learning coding, become fully fluent in japanese, and already have several references under your belt, you might as well kill yourself because you’ll never be as good as your peers back home”
#like man i just wanted to live in japan and teach english for a while i didn’t realize it would be a black hole on my resume 😭#sometimes i don’t care and other times i worry. idk. sorry i only come on here to rant these days

Yours - Satoru Gojo
notes - OMFG IM ALIVE !! I have been both reading and watching JJK and have a full on brainrot for all of the men. Something struck me and I just felt the need to write fanfic again. I don't know how often I will be here, but I am thinking about doing more comfort fics and just stuff I wanna write. AUs, stories, just all the fun stuff. If any of you have ideas, I will take them, but no requests :) Thank you all for being so patient with me, I love you all so so so so much <3 word count - 596 summary - your life as a jujutsu sorcerer and the future with Satoru
You loved the sound of cicadas. It meant summer. It meant freedom. It meant all that work through the school year was over and you could finally have some time to yourself.
That’s what it meant when you were a kid at least.
The argument that Satoru and Suguru had was bad. There was no coming back from something like that. You didn’t want to pick sides, but you promised Satoru you would always be with him. You remembered him crying after the fight. How he regretted what he said. How he wished he could just run back, but ultimately knew that he wouldn’t.
You stopped talking to Suguru. You two weren’t ever really close to tell the truth. You just happened to know him because of Satoru.
But something was different. It was like the entire world was different. Satoru killed a man, got himself killed (and then came back to life), and was now taking care of a child. You knew you two never truly had a childhood, but how did it ever get to this?
The sound of cicadas meant nothing to you now. As you were trying to teach Megumi English with the windows closed, there wasn’t any more time for goofing off in Japan. You and Satoru were two grown sorcerers in a difficult world, and it just had to be that way. It’s not something you could argue against, it’s simply the hand that life dealt you.
You didn’t mind though. You couldn’t. You got to spend all of your time with two lovely boys in a beautiful home. You never really felt sad. Or maybe you didn’t notice it.
Megumi didn’t call you mom, but you never asked him to. You just knew he was your everything and he knew it too.
Satoru eventually called you his wife. He told you he never wanted to lose you and that he was scared. His hand was shaking while he proposed. You told him you would lever leave and that you were always going to be there for him. You two kissed in the sunset, the sound of cicadas drowning out everything.
“I have to fight Suguru Geto.” Those words that came out of Satoru’s mouth made your heart stop. You knew it would happen, but so soon? It was inevitable, but now? You tried to stop him, tried to tell him that someone else could deal with it, but you both knew that wasn’t true.
You kissed him when he came home in tears. He killed his best friend. His only friend.
“I don’t want to lose you too.” he cried in your arms.
You promised nothing would happen. That you would never leave him.
He spent the rest of the night alone, thinking. You watched the stars. It smelled sweet outside, like summer and spring colliding in the night sky. The sound of crickets comforted you.
You didn’t want to lose Satoru.
You ran upstairs and knocked on your own bedroom door. The door opened and a tear covered Satoru opened the door. You held him in your arms. You told him that you never wanted him to leave. That even though everything felt painful and tiring, you liked the life you lived. You loved your husband and your son, and nothing could take that away from you.
Tears felt warm, but Satoru’s arms were warmer. Cool breeze came in through the window to dry your face and your husband kissed your earlobes and promised that this life would stay yours.
“I love you, Satoru.”
“I love you too.”

Finally got around to catching up on Spy x Fam manga and man. I def didn't expect a parody of "vodka martini" spy fiction in Shonen Jump to begin to be even more aggressive in talking about the horrors of war. But considering that the mag's target audience is kids and teens, it's nice.
And yeah, I'm actually serious about the whole thing. Spoilers for chapter 90 and onwards.
It's already been a series about the aftereffects of war. Like, we've got Yor being an assassin to take care of her younger brother during the war. She prob can't cook bc being an orphan living through war rationing isn't exactly conducive to learning this life skill. Anya was a human experiment and is terrified of abandonment. Bond was an animal experiment and a chapter from his POV shows he's still pretty traumatized. Loid has multiple chapters from his POV about being a kid during wartime and losing his family.
And now, we get an entire arc about the principal and the nice auntie.
Y'know, where he keeps being a history teacher to teach the kids not to repeat the past mistakes, while people keep pushing him to teach physics to enable the war effort. Where he openly says he wishes radios were used for something besides broadcasting propaganda. Where he gets jailed for "discrediting the war effort" (aka demanding to stop using the deaths of undertrained volunteers as propaganda).
And where the nice auntie volunteers because she lost too many people she cares about and can't handle it anymore. Where she sees shooting for insubordination. Where she loses friends on the front lines and almost dies. Where she's nursed back to health by a nice lady, even though she lost a daughter to soldiers like her. Where on her way back, the nice auntie muses about how the stars in the enemy territory are the same as at home. Where she loses more friends on her way back, and finds out the guy she loved is married now.
Like, this is the series very bluntly sitting the kids down for a talk and it's desperately needed. We've got two large-scale wars (and ya, the nationalism leading up to one sent my fam packing) and iirc Japan has a right-winger problem. Over in US, I just had a prestigious consulting firm roll up with a seemingly nice and stable government consulting practice. But the hiring manager wouldn't stfu about how cool auditing the DOD is and the places I'd go, so I noped out. Military anything provokes bad memories for me. Oh, and had to sit through his cringe "wow, you're so good at English" thing, but I digress!
I do hope these kinds of stories enable kids to make similar types of decisions in adulthood. Because ultimately, it's not just the draft and volunteering that contribute to the military-industrial complex. It's also all the arms dealers and auxiliary services. And if able, I think good adults should ensure that trash is deprived of brain power, esp if they're in an in-demand sector.
Bc really, if you're not watching the news, do you at least want to avoid contributing to what's shown on these pages?

Chapter 8.
The Lost Princess
Context: Haru invited Jamie to the Onsen, demonstrating why he aspires to be a, respectfully, 🚩. Meanwhile, Lottie’s living her best theatre kid life.
YOOO WE GET A JAMIE PERSPECTIVE ABOUT HARU
So, we finally get Haru’s age (honestly, I was lowkey concerned 'cause my man has a whole teaching position???) and—he’s 21 … So you’re telling me that 17-year-old Jamie being hit on by a 21-year-old —which itself isn’t inherently problematic, but it can create an imbalance in maturity 🚩— but considering he’s teaching HIS course as well????????? That power inbalance?????? Oh no. nononono. 🚩 :D
Not Haru actually inviting Jamie to the onsen casually like it’s Tuesday. WHO DO YOU THINK YOU’RE FOOLING, SIR?!
Props to Jamie for leaving ONE SINGLE THOUGHT for Raphael. (Thank you for the crumbs. Also, HOW DARE YOU? Think about who you could have gotten with that would have been WAY BETTER than the lovely gentleman next to you.)
Why is everyone staring at everybody these days?? GUYS. PLEASE. JUST GO TO A MUSEUM AND LOOK AT GREEK GODESS STATUES IF YOU'RE THAT DESPERATE TO SEE SOME MUSCLES. GOSH. THAT TRIO.
Ok, that chapter is fun to read.
The thing is—Haru has this too good to be true vibe to him, truly too sweet, to even describe with Tompkins' vocabulary. I feel so twisted inside to note this down everytime because I know something’s about to hit the fan. So idk if I’m I just biased, but bro already crossed like, four boundaries in that one convo, making me uncomfortable. 🚩 :D
Yooooo, Haru really hit Jamie with the "Who were you before the world told you who to be?" question JSHDBDB Wrong person.
NOOO EWW, HARU’S AWARE OF THE WHOLE TEACHER-STUDENT DYNAMIC?? NOOooo (Got confirmation he’s actually teaching JAMIE'S course too. 🚩 :D SHSHDJJYNS. Nope. Nooo.)
This is honestly creepy. Like, he’s TEACHING the course but still wants to be all buddy-buddy with Jamie and invites him to the onsen???? (which, Granted: I know it’s culturally okay in Japan to go to an onsen even with a mentorship-type-of-relationship. However, since the gang are foreigners, to me it feels like he’s tiptoeing in the grey area of the border. Is it just me or do I just really want to hate this guy??? THIS IS SO UNSETTLING.)
*Small Break to text my mutuals and rant about Haru being an absolute weirdo*
LOTTIE HAVING FUN IN HER COURSE>>>>
I love how none of them realize that Lottie’s “Pumpkin” codename is low-key useless if everyone knows she’s the princess anyway and make a buzz about it.
Wait—is it just my German translation or did Miko actually just say “Virgin”-?
Creating a Pinterest board for the costumes is gonna be so much fun!!
YOOO RIO
Why am I reading so much „Virgin“s??
NO WAY RIO JUST SAID HE’S LOTTIES VIRGIN (out of context)
Rio, The Virgin.
KOU IS AN AESTHETIC. THEY HAVE TASTE.
Nooo, not my mind now picturing Jamie as Aoi Tōyō and Haru as that prince when Rio tells that story—bro, do I really want them to fail that badly???
Fun fact! I’m reading a German copy of the book, and when I went through the English PDF version, I noticed many glossary references, especially in this chapter. It seems a lot of the Japanese references, particularly in the spoken language, were cut in my copy. While I appreciate this for making it less cringe-worthy, I’m also sad about losing the opportunity to explore the culture through it.
Editing-Zorya: Ok, I checked. Apparently Rio only calls himself a virgin in the German translation. :(
✧ Read All Chapter Reactions
Premise: I’m rereading the Rosewood Chronicles Series for the first time after years, so take my chaotic commentary with a grain of salt (or a whole salt shaker). Open to spoilers.

I love rambunctious rockstar Eddie, but today, I'm imagining a Steddie AU where they meet as adults in the real world, and in order to like. Get by and escape his past reputation and stuff, Eddie has suppressed a lot of himself.
And he and Steve kinda know each other but like. They don't interact that much.
Steve is kind of. Untouchable and good at what he does and Eddie has a crush but is also like. This guy's never looked twice at me and he won't because I'm a scruffy loser.
Meanwhile Steve thinks Eddie is cute but also kind of...bland? Like he doesn't seem to care about much and he doesn't engage with people or joke around and like. Occasionally he catches glimpses of Eddie under the professional mask but he figures Eddie just. Doesn't want to work here and is keeping personal and professional lives separate.
And then one day Steve sees Eddie interacting with one of the kids who like. Knows him from the game store or whatever and he lights up and is so engaging and dorky and wonderful and Steve is like. I need to date this man.
So they start dating and Eddie has been holding back for so long that it's hard for him to open up to Steve and then later like. The people he works with or whatever. And eventually everyone is charmed and enamoured by Eddie and all his charisma and fun. And it's great. But there's other things he's still holding back on.
Anyway fast forward months or a year or something and Steve and Eddie are really serious and living together and maybe talking about marriage when Gareth, who was on another continent teaching English. I'm thinking Japan, or Eastern Europe, but it doesn't really matter. The point is, Gareth and Steve have never met except in passing over zoom. Anyway Gareth is back stateside and they're getting dinner or something.
And Gareth introduces himself not as a part of Eddie's Zoom DnD group, or as his best friend since highschool but instead.
"Hi! I'm Gareth, I'm in the band with Eddie!"
And Steve has never heard of Eddie being in a band and is like. "Eddie you're in a band? How did I not know that you're in a band?"
Eddie is like. "what are you talking about. First of all we were friends before we were band mates and second it's been decades since we were in a band. It was just a highschool garage band."
Anyway it all comes out that they were in a band. In highschool and after. In fact for many years after highschool they were in a band. But. Eddie couldn't get a job after high school because everyone in town knew him as the super senior drug dealer who was ~somehow~ involved when the weird religious captain of the basketball team went crazy and killed his girlfriend.
Anyway. Eddie couldn't get a job, and it wasn't like the band was making money, so he had to leave, which meant breaking up the band. But instead of going to college or working jobs and living at home the whole band followed him and risked everything to be a band with him. Working shitty jobs and living in shittier apartments. Keeping him company as he struggled to keep a job for a variety of reasons. So because they loved him and believed in the band.
And they tried that for a while. But they failed. They didn't get lucky. Could never play in the right place at the right time. Which happens. Not because they weren't good, just because they weren't lucky.
Eventually Eddie made a call. It was time to break up the band and start acting like real adults. Take the promotion that takes you far away, go to school if that's for you, stop losing jobs because you're too committed to song writing to show up on time, or miss shifts to make last minute gigs in shitholes or because you're too committed to the rockstar look. It was fun while it lasted but he didn't want his friends giving up on good opportunities, on good adult lives, for a failed highschool garage band. And it broke his heart.
Back in the present his friends are established in their lives and have time for hobbies and they've started playing DND over zoom, which is great but not enough, and they miss each other. So they've been trying to get the band back together. Not to make money or get famous, just for fun.
But Eddie is so embarrassed that he thought they could make it. So ashamed that his younger friends had to support him because he was too busy chasing their dream. And there's trauma there. And grief. And because of all this. He won't even jam with his friends. So Gareth told on him to his boyfriend. Which is probably not the most healthy or mature thing to do. But it gets Steve involved.
Steve has seen Eddie light up while playing or listening to or talking about music. He clearly loves it more than anything. It's clearly so so important to him. And yet he never really plays for Steve. And clearly doesn't jam with his friends. Which is a shame because it made him so happy.
Which leads to the conversation that started this post in my head.
Steve: Eddie, baby, tell me. Are you Max Mercy?
Eddie: Who?
...
Robin: Steve are you looking for "Matt Mercer"?
Steve: *not missing a beat* Eddie are you Matt Mercer?
Eddie: ... no?
Steve: Are you Brennan Lee Mulligan? (he knows Brennan because they're obsessed with Game Changer)
Eddie:... Obviously not?
Steve: Are you famous for your skill as a DM?
Eddie: where are you going with this?
Steve: Do you have to DM ans do a good job to support your family and make sure your friends stay employed?
Eddie: Stevie what the fuck?
Steve: please answer the question.
Eddie: no???
Steve: Then why do you do it? If it's not for fame or money or to keep people afloat why do you spend hours every week planning encounters?
Eddie: Well, Its - uh.
Steve: Is it perhaps because you enjoy doing it? That you have fun working at something just for its own sake. That you love playing with your friends?
Eddie: of course I do.
Steve: Then why is music any different? It's okay if you just don't want to. But it's also okay if you want to. It's even okay if you're rusty or bad and never make money or fame off of it. It's okay if it's just for fun. Just for the sake of playing with your friends.
Anyway Corroded Coffin never makes it big but they have a great time and host bonfires and fun little parties and invite people of all ages who are able to to bring their instruments and jam with them. They also do some concerts that are fundraisers for community things like the highschool's tabletop club or the local LGBTQ+ organizations.
They never make money for themselves but they never have to. They do make a DND podcast though. Just because more people deserve to hear Eddie dm.
#Steddie#Stranger Things#Steve Harrington#Eddie Munson#gareth stranger things#corroded coffin#sometimes when you want to succeed in art#it gets hard to unlink it from external motivations#success in music#and art#are often defined by how much money you make or how many people know your name#and not how much fun you have with your friends#or the satisfaction of a job well done.#sometimes it's enough to just create with your friends#sometimes it's hard to remember that#and it's especially hard when you're putting the starving in starving artist#you don't need to make art professionally to be an artist#you just need to make art#Even if it's just for you

Whats a relationship?
<-♧—♧—♧—♧—♧—♧—♧—♧—♧—♧—♡—♡—♡—♡—♡—♡—♡—♡—♡ ->
I just wanted to write a character that happened to be Present Mic's big sister and also had a fling with All might at some point in her life.
Don't be mad at me.
<-♧—♧—♧—♧—♧—♧—♧—♧—♧—♧—♡—♡—♡—♡—♡—♡—♡—♡—♡->
“Mom, Japan is huge.” Your daughter smiles as you guide her through toward your new apartment.
“We lived in America for a while honey, it's just new.” As you remind her of this you almost miss the face she makes.
“Mom, I have seen everything in America, it’s boring. People suck, and you said I get to see dad if we come to Japan,” she sasses.
Stopping for a second you frown. “Hizuru. Stop it.”
She looks at you and pouts. “You promised.”
“I know, you can see him but I don’t know about telling him,” you grumble. “Anyway, let’s go home. We still have to unpack.”
Traveling wasn’t something you liked to do but nearly ten years ago you decided to leave Japan for work, it was as if you were an accidental runaway bride. But it takes two to tango.
Hizuru bore a strong resemblance to her father, a strong frame and tall, she was only ten and nearing five feet already. You knew she was about to hit a growth spurt, and you were worried how her quirk would adapt with that. Long blond hair, but your eyes,
She got a combination of your own quirk with your dads, the ability to manipulate and detect close range threats. Your quirk threat-detect was helpful but that was only one aspect to your quirk. It seemed she didn’t get her father’s quirk or any inkling of it. You didn’t know his parents' quirks so you couldn’t say that she got it from his side.
“Mom, does dad know?”
You stop cutting the box open. “I haven’t been able to talk to your father since I left Japan. Luckily I was able to register you as a Japanese citizen.”
“Yeah, lucky.”
“Stop whining. I- will see about the two of you meeting. If I grab your hand don’t say anything, if I don’t you can say something,” you sigh.
“Okay mom.”
Maybe ten days later you looked at your hero uniform then to the door.
“Hello Nezu.”
“Radar, it’s been some time. Have you been well?”
“Yeah, do you really want me to start as a teacher here? For second year English no less?” You frown.
“Unless you want to teach art.”
You look down and think for a moment. “Art might be the better choice. I think I wanna stop using English.”
“Alright, good. I’ll let everyone else know. You mentioned that you had a daughter? Did you get married back in America?”
“No, you know I could never do that.” You laugh.
You grew up in a sense with Nezu.
“I know your strong attachment to Yagi.”
You stop. “Anyway, I should start getting my lesson plans ready. Wouldn’t want to underwhelm the students who literally face danger almost everyday.”
“Don’t worry too much about-“
You look back to the door confused. Your quirk was going nuts telling you that someone was close by.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, I might still be a little off since getting back. I’ll see you again in a week.” You nod with a bow.
Just as you pull your cloak over your head you pause.
“How’s he been?” You whisper.
“He’s doing okay.”
“That’s good to hear.”
Just as you leave the room fixing your mouth piece over you squeak, thankful that you hadn’t pressed the power switch on your mask. Yagi Toshinori was standing right outside the door, quickly casting your eyes down and brushing past him.
“Radar.”
Ignoring the sound of your hero name you kept walking.
“Kasumi, wait.”
You stop. Damnit. Wiping the tears on your glove you try to compose yourself before turning to the tall man and flashing the best fake smile you can manage.
“Hi, how have you been Yagi?”
“I could have been better, just busy with work. How have you been? You have a daughter right?” He adds.
You feel your heart stop. “Who told you?”
He seemed taken aback. “What?”
“Who told you I had a daughter? I’m sure I’ve done my best to keep her life as private as possible. Even her birth was hidden so how did you know?” You narrow your eyes.
You had managed to keep your personal life and hero life separate and you wanted to keep it that way. Since the last time the two mixed you ended up with a child and the father of said child didn’t know who she was.
“Your brother told me.”
“Hizashi? I have half a mind to beat him up, anyway she’s fine. As much of a handful as a ten year old can be,” you look toward the window.
“So you got married?”
“No. Never got married.” You roll your eyes and consider it. “She’s yours.”
He seemed to miss what you said. “Glad to know you're doing well.”
“I gotta go.” You manage before turning away. “I hope you have a wonderful day Yagi.”
With spring you were leaving Hizuru to school and you were starting teaching. Obviously you didn’t have much to do but it was a lot when spread out across the grades.
“Miss Radar, how is drawing still life gonna help us?” Someone asks.
“Have you ever wondered how others stay calm? They have more than one thing that they can relate to keep them calm.” You catch the incoming pencil. “Imagine you’re constantly working, always going on patrol, staying in the office and barely going home. You’re doing your job but you can’t function at peak performance without the proper rest. Everyone has to find that one thing that calms them down from the adrenaline of battle or you’ll tire quicker, and get reckless. Then your friend will be saying goodbye to you before your true time because you worked yourself to the very last drop of blood.”
“Is that what really happened to your-“
You hand the pencil back to Bakugou. “I guess still life is a bit boring, how about we try a different exercise next time? I’ll have to ask the other teachers but next you’ll be drawing from life.”
As they put their things away and you get ready for your next class you notice your phone ringing. Picking it up, you answer a bit confused.
“Hello?”
«Is this the mother of Yamada Hizuru?»
“Yes, this is Yamada Kasumi.” You look out the window.
«Today there was an incident, there was an intruder in the school and Hizuru took it into her own hands. Everything’s fine but she was hurt.»
Your breath caught in your throat. “I’ll be there momentarily.”
«of course.»
Ending the call you pocket your phone. The tears were already clouding your vision. Strings of curses left your mouth as you try to figure out what to do.
“Miss Yamada?”
Wiping your face quickly you compose yourself. “Ah, I didn’t think I’d get hero course after hero course. Please grab your materials and begin, I need to step out for a moment.”
Leaving the room you were thankful that you ran into your little brother.
“Woah, sis what’s wrong?”
“Hizuru got hurt. I was so stupid, I shouldn’t have, I shouldn't have taught her how to protect herself, what am I gonna do Hizashi?” You almost broke.
“I can mind your classes. Go let Nezu know.”
You give a firm nod trying to get there without breaking again. Nezu scolded you for wasting time and let you leave. Practically sprinting out of the school to get to your daughters school.
“Mom!”
She was sitting on the back of an ambulance. Her smile widens as she jumps down to run to you. Bandages around her head and arm.
“Hizuru?” You felt your stomach twist. This was all your fault.
“Mom I know you told me not to mind my quirk at school but I couldn’t just let someone else get hurt,” she grabs your hand, her smaller hand shaking trembling even.
You pull her into a hug as you sob into her hair. “Baby please don’t scare me like that, please.”
Like a rubber band snapping she was brought back to reality, you felt her tears first, then it was the crying.
“Mommy I was so scared.” She sobs as her arms wrap tightly around your frame.
Brushing her hair with your fingers, you pick her up into our arms. Trying to keep yourself calm as she cries. Ten minutes of crying and she was asleep.
“You have a strong girl, I thought she would have started crying sooner.” One of the policemen sighs.
You smile as you hold her. “We faced quite a few incidents back in America.”
“I’m sorry to hear that. We’ll be doing better to make sure this incident doesn’t repeat itself.” He bows.
“Thank you.”
“Miss Yamada, please let her rest tomorrow. Coming to school again might be a little stressful.” The teacher frowns.
You give a nod. “Of course. Thank you again, I’ll be taking her home.”
With her backpack you carried her home. You called Nezu and Hizashi to let them know that she was okay. They suggested you stay home. You felt bad for doing so but sent your plans for the next day to your brother.
The next day at school an announcement was made. Aizawa held the paper as he read over it his own heart ached. “Yesterday an intruder got into an elementary school, a student defended her class and the intruder was apprehended. Due to this incident we ask that everyone be careful on their way to and from school.”
“Aizawa Sensei, why are we hearing about this?” Ashido asks.
He looks at the pink haired girl before thinking. “Principal Nezu felt this was important information to share. You are all still children without hero licenses.”
All might was worried. All the teachers knew that you had taken a sick day to care for your daughter, which meant the two of you were recuperating at home.
“Hizashi, do you think she ate properly?” Midnight asks.
“Yes, since she’s had Hizuru, Kasumi remembers to eat now. You should have seen when she was pregnant she kept forgetting meals. She said she’ll be here tomorrow, but she has to pick up Hizuru from school.”
“Does that mean she did all that work for nothing?”
“I hope not. Sis practically bled herself dry to make sure the news kept their nose out of her personal life.”
“How old is she?” All might asks.
“Hizuru just turned ten. Kasumi complains that she takes after her dad too much. But I think Hizuru is the spitting image of my sister,” Hizashi shows the male the picture.
It was weird. All might wasn’t sure why but he saw a bit of his physical image in the young girl. The picture was one from this morning because he recognized the three stars tattooed on your arm.
“Kid hasn’t even lost all her baby teeth and she’s protecting others from danger.”
“You should have seen the situations Sis got in because of her quirk. Hizuru’s is just as powerful if not more. Kid said she can see when someone is intending to hurt someone.” Hizashi puts his phone away. “How long has it been since you actually talked to my sister?”
Yagi looks away. “We had a brief conversation when Nezu hired her, but not a true conversation since before she had her daughter.”
Hizashi sighs. “Look my sister isn’t exactly the straight forward type but you two need to talk.”
“I see what you mean.”
Midnight had little idea what the two men were talking about but it seemed important.
When you came to school the next day you felt less worried but you didn’t know what to do to calm your nerves.
It was the support course today, you had been looking forward to teaching the general course but it couldn’t be helped.
“Do we really have to?”
“I’d say no, but I am curious to see what you guys will make that would only be for display.” You respond.
“Sensei, why weren’t you here yesterday?”
“Family emergency.”
“Oh.”
It was no secret to anyone at Yuuei that every single instructor is or was a pro hero. You were no exception. Though you didn’t wear your hero costume you really only needed your belt if you needed to do anything. Plus your mask.
After the USJ incident you were petrified for those students. The entire day your alarms were blaring off the charts. So you were glad it wasn’t a false alarm.
“Radar, are you okay?” Aizawa asks as you get up from the desk.
“Yeah, just a little tired.” You mumble.
“Why don’t you…”
You shake your head. “I need to see what schools Hizuru wants to go to. She’s been studying for exams and I’m curious how she’s gonna use her quirk. Hopefully it’s not gonna cause a repeat.”
He looks at you and frowns. “How did she learn how to do that?”
“I taught her, while we were in America a lot happened. Someone tried to take her,” you admit. “I couldn’t do much without the possibility of her getting hurt. Lucky someone was able to help me.”
“So you taught her for your peace of mind?”
You nod. “My baby is all I have left outside of my family. But I’m sure my parents don’t want to deal with me if something happens to her.”
“Kasumi don’t say that.”
“It’s true, Shota, thank you for being friends with Hizashi.” You smile, grabbing the pile of papers.
In your classroom you checked that you had the right item. Pulling the extra large canvases out you smile. The floor and walls were properly covered and the paints were ready.
“Hello Yamada Sensei.” “What are we doing?” “Woah those are huge.” “I dunno how this will play out.”
You smirk. “Okay. So I know what I promised but I thought this would be a better alternative. We have several students here who are very particular about how they do things. That’s fine, but we’re gonna throw that out the window.”
You roll your sleeves back and dip your hand in the yellow paint.
Slapping it on the canvas you kept separate, you smile. “I wanna see how chaotic you guys can be, while still making art. There’s twenty of you, and five canvases. Divide into groups of four and go plus ultra.”
They seemed confused. But they all quickly took off their blazers and rolled up their sleeves. It wasn’t long before paint was flying and splattered all over the place. You smile at the chaos.
“Woah what’s going on here?”
“Oh I didn’t realize class was over. Please go wash your hands and go to your class. I’ll take the blame for you being late. Class 1B we’ll have a similar exercise. I just need a moment to get things ready.” You chuckle scrambling around. “Class A, that paint is washable and doesn’t stain.”
Placing the canvases aside to dry you chuckle. “Class B if I could have you divide into five groups of four please, and if someone could refill the paints?”
“Right Sensei.”
The exercise was equally chaotic and just as fun with class B. You were relieved that you had an easier time cleaning.
As you were leaving a hand caught your shoulder. “You have red paint in your hair, Yamada.”
You look for a second running a careful hand through the short locks. “I do. It must have been Bakugo. It’ll wash out.”
“What did you do? The hero course students were more energetic.” Yagi asks, confused.
“We let out some chaos, hopefully this gave them a moment to explode without fear of injury.”
“Kasumi, next time could you keep it more controlled?”
You smile at the male. “Shota, chaos has no reins, you cannot control it. Sometimes it can be reeled in but never controlled. Hence I have no qualms with the fact that Midoriya got a huge hand of green paint in Bakugo’s hair.”
You could hear your brother rolling over with laughter. “Midoriya did that?”
“I think it was a group effort between him and Uraraka. Anyway I gotta go,” you grab your things. “Hizuru said she misses you.”
“My favorite niece misses me? I should visit her soon then. Her birthday is coming up, right?”
“Her birthday is in two weeks.”
Hizashi grins. “I get to spoil the baby.”
“Try not to go crazy.”
You stopped by the bathroom to wash out the paint from your hair. Once clean and sure there wasn’t a mark you left to pick up Hizuru. She was just excited at the idea that she was doing things. Her wound healed nicely because Recovery girl came to visit her.
But due to an overlooked timing Hizuru had a day off of school and you couldn’t leave her at home, no one could watch her because she didn’t trust anyone else. Nezu let you bring her.
“Uncle Hizashi, Uncle Shota!” She springs up to hug the men. Her excitement wasn’t shared but nonetheless they greeted her.
“You gotta stay at your mom’s desk okay?” Hizashi reminds her.
“But I wanted to-“
“She is my extra hand during the class 3 A and B classes. It’s fine. I thought since the chaos exercise was well received that the older kids might like it too.” You chuckle. “But I borrowed some stuff.”
“By borrowed-“
“Borrowed. I can clean up and return items, stop thinking about it too much, come on Hizuru.”
“Uncle, guess what? Momma made me a special lunch, and I get to pick what's for dinner.”
“Really? Doesn’t Kasumi usually make everything?”
“Mhmm, but lately momma keeps getting so sleepy that she can’t even get up for our run.”
“Hizuru, stop. Hizashi doesn’t wanna know about all that.”
He looks at you and then at your daughter. “What do you mean?”
“Well, momma still sits in the living room crying about daddy. I wonder if they can be friends again, because I don’t like when momma cries.” Hizuru states.
You rub at your temple. “Hizuru, stay with your uncle until I come back.”
“Okay.”
You go to prepare your tools. Hizuru looks at your brother and smiles.
“Uncle, does mom like working?”
“You know she does. What’s this about her crying?” Hizashi frowns.
“Well, I noticed it since we came here. Sometimes she’ll stay in the living room and I hear her crying. She did that a lot when I was little,” she explains. “Do you think she misses my dad?”
“Of course, but it’s a bit more complicated than that. Next time you see her crying, call me okay?”
Hizuru looks at her uncle. “Okay. I’ll do that.”
“Speaking of what do you want for your birthday?”
“Hmm, maybe a dog. One that can protect us, someone keeps knocking on the door and bothering mom.”
“What?”
You frown. “Hizuru!”
She looks down.
“Kasumi?”
“It’s fine I can handle myself. I always forget that living alone culture is different everywhere,” you sigh, patting your daughter. “Hizuru I didn’t mean to shout.”
“I know, I’m sorry mom.”
“Let’s go.”
It wasn’t long before her birthday came around. That single day of her coming to the school left a laying impression that you received many presents for her from the third years and teachers. Yagi even bought some things. Hizuru was more than happy to receive all the gifts.
You didn’t expect it to lead to— “You guys want to come to our apartment?”
“Just to check.” Hizashi frowns.
You sigh. “Fine if it’ll make you relax you can come over. I’ll make dinner or something.”
“Good.” Shota sighs.
“When exactly do you want to come over?” You ask, checking your phone you frown. “Hizashi, did mom and dad message you recently?”
“No, what’s wrong?” He looks at your phone and all the energy drains.
“I need to go, I swear they’re the worst.” You feel the anger bubbling up.
But before you can continue a mask is placed over your mouth. No sound escapes the mask and you glare. Misdirected anger isn’t usually your forte but it was something that had to do with your daughter.
Grabbing the cloth you pull it between your fingers before feeling what should have been a growl but was silent.
“Kasumi, calm down. Tell us what happened.” Aizawa sighs unfazed.
Taking a few deep breaths you try to think as Hizashi takes away the mask. You had a quirk similar to his, but it wasn’t as powerful.
“Mom went behind my back and took Hizuru to their house, she’s claiming that I can’t take proper care of her,” you manage. “She’s so stuck in her ways. I’m so glad I didn’t stay in Japan when I found out I was pregnant.”
“Don’t worry, mom won’t do anything you know that. She’s gotten… you know I think we should go pick her up after school.” Hizashi admits.
“Thank you.” You sigh. “I know it might seem extreme, but I can’t let mom-“
“Kasumi I know, just finish the day and we can go pick her up together.”
You and Hizashi have different dads. The voice quirk was from your mother, and your detection quirk was from your father. But Hizashi only had your moms quirk. She often made you completely dependent on her when Hizashi decided to be a hero. So you did the same in an unconventional way.
“Yamada Sensei? You’re drinking paint water…” Hatsume states pointing to the glass in your hand.
“Please excuse me, I don’t know where my mind is,” you sigh before leaving the classroom. “I’ll be right back.”
Good job. You make your way back but the paint residue has stained your face. Groaning you make your way back to the classroom, going through the closet you put the mask on and continue teaching.
By the end of the day you wanted nothing more than to sleep. But the thought of seeing Hizuru made you happier. First you stopped by the school and told them if anyone came for Hizuru that wasn’t you or Hizashi was not allowed to take her. Then Hizashi drove you to your moms house.
“Hizuru we’re going home.” You state crossing your arms.
“Momma! How come I’ve never met grandma?”
“Because my mom tried to sell me off so she could have money. When I told her I was gonna have you she kicked me out.” You state brushing her hair with your hand.
She pouts. “No wonder my senses were going off like crazy.”
“She has the same— Why didn’t you tell me that?”
“You never asked. Tell Dad I said hi,” you picked up Hizuru and went home.
Much to your relief everything went fine before the planned day of company coming over. Nemuri, Shota, Hizashi, and Yagi were coming by your apartment for dinner and to see how safe your apartment was. The addition of Yagi was a surprise to you. You almost expected him to bail.
“Hello,” he towered over you like the tall man he was.
“Come in, I was just finishing the food prep. You don’t mind that I’m making dumplings right?” You ask, though you felt like a flurry of emotions were spiraling around you.
“Mom who’s…” Hizuru looks at her father as you dry your hands on the apron.
“You remember Yagi, he’s a dear friend of mine.” You state gesturing to the man.
You couldn’t admit you had just been crying about him two nights before. Grief stricken at the time you lost and the severed connection from a hasty escape.
Hizuru swallows and gives a big smile. “Yes, I remember. Nice to meet you sir.”
“You’re a lot taller than I would imagine a ten year old to be.” He chuckles. “How are you feeling?”
“Fine, we have a signal in class for when my quirk is alerting me of something. And all the teachers are more careful of who comes in and out.” She smiles.
“Go finish what you were doing so we can prepare the rest of the food,” you glance back toward the main part of the apartment. “Yagi come in. Everyone else should be— Hizashi, I can see you.”
“Surprise.” He chuckles holding something.
“You have till the count of five.”
“It’s just a harmless gift.” He laughs pushing the box into your hands.
Hizuru looks at the tired male following after her uncle and grabs his hand. “Uncle Shota look, I built it.”
You could barely contain the chuckle. “Thank you for coming. Nemuri you can come in as well.”
“Here I thought this would be a good gift.” She holds something up and you could barely contain the chuckle.
“I don’t really drink, Just before Hizuru was born I stopped drinking,” you laugh. “But thank you.”
She pouts. “Are you sure?”
“Yeah.”
Closing the door you got ready to finish preparing the food but Hizashi kicked you out of the kitchen. “Let me do it. You’ve probably been buzzing around like a bee all day.”
“Rude, I was just making sure everything was clean.” You mumble.
“It’s a lot bigger than I thought but it’s not secure,” Shota states.
“I know, I need to replace a few things but other than that it’s fine.” You shrug.
Just as you sit on the couch, the bell rings. Hizuru was about to answer the door but you shake your head about to get up. Shota walks to the door, opening it to the man who had been bothering you.
“Oh- I didn’t realize she’d had someone…”
“What do you want?” Shota raises a sleepy brow.
The man seemed to fidget around. “Nothing.”
“Can you stop bothering my mommy?” Hizuru made herself known as you grab her shoulder gently.
“What's going on between me and your mom is between us, kid.”
You narrow your eyes and you pick up the mask sitting on the counter, pulling it on but not turning it on. “Goro, I have a question for you. What do you think happens to people who underestimate someone?”
“Not much.” He shrugs.
You push Shota back away from the door and smile. “No. You lose the game, that's what happens. Please leave me alone before I call the building manager.”
“But I was just-“
“Being polite?” You narrow your eyes. “A lot of people were being polite, half of them were wanted criminals. I'd appreciate it if you left me alone. My brother doesn’t take too kindly to anyone bothering me and I always let my baby brother do what he wants.”
“I’ll go.” He huffs.
“Bye bye.”
Closing and locking the door you sigh. You used this moment to put your mask on properly and scream. It was a quirk suppressor, it rendered your voice useless in combat and you were thankful for it.
Taking off the mask you frown. “Now that that’s solved can we eat?”
You look at your little brother who’s been making food and he nods. Two people were still frazzled from the situation but Hizashi and Shota were used to this. Hizuru has seen watered down and extreme versions of this so she continued on as she did.
“Big sis Nemuri, how did you become a hero?”
“I went to school with your uncle, do you know how your mom became a hero?” She smirks.
“Nemuri that’s not a fun—“
“I wanna know, momma never told me how she became a hero?” Hizuru’s eyes lit up and you groan.
“Go ahead and tell her.”
Hizashi clears his throat. “When your mom was in school she went to a normal public school. So one day she was walking to school and she told one of the staff members to check the front gate, when her school started the gate got locked to keep others out. The teacher checked and the way they locked it was tampered with. At first they suspected your mom.”
Shota rolls his eyes. “A poor move on their part. She dumped her bag and stripped down to her gym uniform in front of the teachers. And she was obviously clean. So when not even fifteen minutes later, she ran into the main office and took the intercom over.”
Hizashi laughs. “Sis was a bit more reckless than she is now. But she states in the com ‘today we will have a mandatory fire drill.’ She didn’t get in trouble because that is a code for the public schools now. Do not leave the classroom, there is an intruder.”
“I know that one, in America we hide in a corner. With the lights off, I always thought it was stupid.” She scoffs.
“I know that all schools have different countermeasures. Sis’s school had teachers find the intruder and arrest him. This wasn’t the turning point. Because one hour later another intruder had entered the school. This time Aneki who’d played softball since she was little was able to detain the intruder. The school couldn’t ignore this.”
You grumble. “It was lucky the bat I used to practice was illegal for in-game use. But it made me realize that if I’m gonna feel this feeling I’m gonna protect people.”
“She ended up studying under one of the old teachers.” Nemuri nods.
“Jiji was cool though,” you shrug.
“Jiji?” Yagi asks, confused.
“Oh, I studied under Grandtorino, it was through his recommendation I was able to get my hero license.” You state. “I wonder how he’s doing.”
“You were sensei’s student?”
“Yeah, did he not tell you about me?” You frown. “Well that is like him, I didn’t make much of an impact. I’m not even all that popular as a pro.”
“I’m sure you’re amazing.”
“Nah, they had me doing undercover everything in America. Honestly it was annoying.”
Hizashi frowns. “What?”
“Yeah it was all undercover, protection jobs. Nothing I really liked but I was glad I came back to Japan.” You shrug. “Hizuru, go get ready for bed you look like you're gonna fall asleep.”
“Okay, good night.”
You were happy that the night went okay. But as everyone was getting ready to leave, Yagi gave you a worried look.
“Did you wanna—“
Everyone else had left and he was just getting ready to leave, or so you’d thought.
“Is she my daughter?”
How would he..? You stop doing the dishes and look at him. “What makes you think that?”
He frowns. “I’m not stupid Kasumi.”
“Toshinori, I didn’t call you stupid.” You frown as well.
“Is Hizuru our daughter?” He asks again.
You run a hand through your hair and sigh. “Yes. Are you happy now? She’s your daughter, our baby. Does it make you happy knowing?”
He takes a slow breath. “Why now? Why didn’t you tell me when you found out?”
“Because I was leaving Japan. On top of that you fucking disappeared do you know how confused I was? Suddenly I was pregnant, I couldn’t find the father and I’m in a new country.” You explain. “It wasn’t easy, but everything was fine. I never told you because when I was walking out of Nezu’s office it was the first time I’d seen you.”
He groans. “Ten years?”
“Yes, ten years, she had your hair. Your smile, and your personality. She, like us, can’t sit by and watch.” You add. “I didn’t tell you because I didn’t know where you were. I know you’re a pro hero but I don’t know which one. To top it off you didn’t want a relationship, you made that very clear before I left.”
“Kasumi just—“
“No, listen I may have been wrong keeping Hizuru away from you but you didn’t want a family in the first place,” you state.
“You’re right, but that’s just it. I was wrong too, I shouldn’t have pushed you away but I did. Maybe you were right to keep her away from me,” he groans.
“Momma, I need help with…” she watches the man from behind you. You gently wave her over.
“Hizuru, you can say hello properly now.” You sigh.
Her eyes light up and she hugs him with all her might. “Hi daddy, I’ve wanted to talk to you this whole time. Momma always told me about how great of a hero you were and that you’re really strong.”
“Are you sure about this Kasumi?”
“My first mistake was being honest with her.”

When I was taught Japanese, I was taught a lot of weird things about the word "no" that were very culturally different than in my culture (dirty low-context culture American).
They'd say, "No is too forceful. Instead of saying いいえ (no) say それはちょっと。。。 (that's a little.../that's... well...). The listener will understand that you're politely indicating a No and will drop the subject and possibly apologize for making the request, since it was their fault for not reading the signs that you may not be interested in what they're offering."
One of my female Japanese friends would tell me that during sex when the woman says No, that "いいえってはい" AKA "no means yes". Which is fucked up to Americans, but for Japanese women, wanting or liking sex is considered unbecoming and slutty. So they say "イヤ!" or "ヤ!" or "ヤダ!" or "ダメ!" (informal no, no, don't wanna, and it's wrong) during sex as a way of saving face. OBVIOUSLY this isn't great, it perpetuates rape culture in Japan, but it's something I HAD to get over when I would get with with Japanese women while I lived there. I'm a lesbian! We were having lesbian sex, and they would still say it.
The Japanese language and culture has rules for stuff like this that they teach from a very young age directly and indirectly. I was a teacher in Japan for five years, I would see kids get in big trouble for not reading the room and not following all these rules. I would get in trouble on occasion for not reading the room, even though I didn't speak Japanese fluently and I had no idea what was going on.
Example: I got stuck in an after-hours all teachers meeting. After an hour and a half (mind you, it was like 7:30PM and my contract only required me to be there till 4:30PM), I quietly excused myself. I bowed my head, bowed apologetically to everyone I pass in silence, hunched over in shame, silently opened the door and closed it while bowing profusely. APPARENTLY, one of our students had DIED OF CANCER and I had left while the teachers were discussing how to approach the rest of the students with the news and how to honor boy and his family at graduation. Some of the teachers complained about how disrespectful I was. More teachers thought it was reasonable that I left, but there was still grumbling from the more traditional teachers.
So I imagine Toshiro growing up, the oldest son of a warlord, having to follow all these rules, bending over backwards his entire life trying not to bother anyone. And in bounds Laios, not a single fuck given about any of that, completely steamrolling Toshiro constantly. Watching their fight gave me flashbacks to all the times I had to consciously avoid "ruining the harmony" in Japan when I really wanted to say or do something. I felt like I couldn't be authentic and honest and up-front.
Example: Standing in the back of the classroom, looking out the window at the butterflies in the goya flowers, trying to ignore the POS newbie teacher yelling at his homeroom 10% because they were goofing off a little, but 90% because he hadn't had a cigarette break in 4 hours. I couldn't say anything, I couldn't bring attention to myself, I couldn't leave, I just needed to pretend to not exist. Otherwise I'd undermine his authority. I wanted to ring that teacher's skinny little neck and tell him to leave the poor 14 year olds alone. They were having fun during English class!! That's a good thing!!
Another Eample: Seeing a salaryman on the train hit his subordinate multiple times for fucking something up earlier in front of a client. The train wasn't empty, everyone just looked at their phones and ignored the commotion. My friends and I whispered to one another in English if we should help the guy, or if that would make it worse. I wanted to tell the guy to fuck off and leave the man alone.
When I came back to America after living in Japan for 5 years, it took me a while to stop trying to read the room to gauge how to talk and act. Americans don't want you to act like that to the degree that Japanese people want you to, it's more of a pain in the ass to them because you should just be able to tell people what you want or need. Making yourself as small as possible just to avoid possibly rocking the boat isn't an ideal trait here.
Toshiro and Laios' fight really hit me with both context systems I had to navigate while living in Japan. Navigating the differences between their communication styles doesn't have a right or wrong side. I was actually impressed that someone like Toshiro was able to be honest, and was glad Laios' finally learned what Toshiro really thought of him (even if it initially hurt his feelings). At least they're on the same page now.
Anyways, uhhhh, yeah. The mangaka is Japanese. The fact that she's aware of both sides is great, and I love seeing a popular manga/anime outright address it from both sides.
My stance on Shuro discourse

“I DIDN'T KNOW YOU DANCED SO AMIABLY, LOVE”
[ masterlist ] [ reblogs are v v v appreciated !! ]
fluff, a bit of angst in osamu's and atsushi's ones, romantic relationship, osamu dazai, chuuya nakahara, ryuunosuke akutagawa and atsushi nakajima (separately) x gn!reader
warning(s) : slight cursing in osamu's one-shot by the end of it, not really proofread.
words count : 1,924 words
plot : “what are their reactions if they accidentally find you dancing at the rhythm of a k-pop song?”
OSAMU DAZAI :
[ ☆ ] the music genre k-pop, from what i've read, is pretty popular in japan.
[ ☆ ] thus, this man would surely know a thing or two about it, as he does with everything.
osamu was working in his study, wearing his usual black headphones and reading the information about a new case; it was rare to have moments like this, where he could do his job at home, but when he managed to achieve them his heart pumped with glee.
he loved working at the agency, he truly did, but sometimes the effort of getting up every day and going to work... crushed him.
after some time passed, it was about two hours, he glanced at the small clock on his desk.
habitually, when he was busy with work and stuff, you visited him in that room and checked in with him, though this time you didn't show up. that would have been absolutely normal per usual, however osamu couldn't help but worry a little.
no, it wasn't even worry: as osamu admitted to himself, it was just a case of vapid confusion; nothing positive, nothing negative, only a neutral matter.
with a soft sigh escaping from his lips, dazai took off his headphones and stretched lazily his arms.
now, without the presence of the earphones, he could hear a lively tune coming from outside his study.
he couldn't grasp well the melody at that distance, thus he got up and proceeded to walk in the music's direction. it accompanied him to the living room, where a rather peculiar situation was presented to him.
the tv was on, playing a music video of some singers (who were also dancers, osamu deduced) he didn't know about. and, in the middle of the room, there was you, freely dancing along the rhythm of the song. dazai never saw you being so joyful about something of the sorts, and he couldn't help but smile at your figure.
when the song came to an end, you turned and almost screamed at the sight of your boyfriend standing a few steps behind you.
“osamu, the fuck. how long have you been there? you scared the shit out of me.” you gritted your teeth, attempting to seem confident in your posture while trying not to think at how much you embarassed yourself just now.
“enough to say that you can dance quite well, my dear.”
[ ☆ ] dazai loves discovering new things. therefore, he would ask you questions about k-pop and so on, wanting to amplify his knowledge on the topic.
[ ☆ ] also, he would annoy you so much until you would teach him at least one choreographies. there's no possibility of escape.
CHUUYA NAKAHARA :
[ ☆ ] he's absolutely in love with music, in all its forms.
[ ☆ ] of course he knows about k-pop, what did you expect?
[ ☆ ] he would be really content to share one of his interests with someone, especially if said someone is you.
that was a rough day for chuuya and the only thing he wished to do was spending time with his partner, you. the mission he just accomplished had been exhausting, it truly drained his energies.
the night sky was tinted with a dark shade of blue, alongside small lights representing planets and stars. unfortunately, living in the city didn't often allow the sight of that splendid wonder, nakahara thought with a soft grin.
even though he usually came to your apartment by means of his special ability, this time he decided — also because of his tiredness — to walk there. the night sky could have been admired for a while longer.
when he entered in your shared apartment, he announced himself saying out loud “[name], i'm home!” as he always did.
however, this time, nakahara wasn't greeted with your presence but with a profound silence.
perhaps they are already asleep?
while he was walking over to your bedroom, he heard a continuous sound from said room, similar to a song.
“what the hell—” he muttered and opened the door.
chuuya stood for a moment — a long moment — dazed. you were dancing while listening to a song from a k-pop band he did know about, quite well in fact.
they got moves, huh, he thought, his heart smiling, while his chest was warming at the sight of you being so happy.
he cleared his throat to make sure you were aware of his presence; needless to say, you suddenly stopped dancing, pausing the song, feeling more awkward than usual.
nakahara approached you, standing in front of you.
“i didn't know you liked k-pop,” he stated while a grin was making its way to his face, seeing your reaction.
your hand landed on the back of your neck, feeling embarassed and expecting to be made fun of, however...
“may i join you, my love?”, chuuya asked for a dance, offering his gloved hand to yours, his eyes showing a glint of genuine interest.
well, his tiredness seemed to be disappeared.
[ ☆ ] LET HIM SING !! he loves it <3.
[ ☆ ] from this moment on, you two will talk about music more often than usual.
[ ☆ ] and !! he !! is !! so !! happy !! about !! this !!
[ ☆ ] he'd also buy you k-pop merch !
RYUUNOSUKE AKUTAGAWA :
[ ☆ ] he doesn't know much about the topic.
[ ☆ ] well, in fact, he knows absolutely nothing.
[ ☆ ] maybe, if gin listens to it, ryū would know a fun fact or two about a specific group, perhaps also a few choreographies. if not, well, he would be quite confused by your dancing.
ryuunosuke akutagawa wasn't someone with much free time. indeed, he spent most of his days fighting for his organization and improving his physical strenght, without being able to focus his mind elsewhere. not that it really mattered, to him.
the only people who could stop his reckless behaviour, which greatly damaged his health, and actually let him peacefully rest were his sister and you. gin was his sibling, his sole family member, but ryū was beginning to think that perhaps you too could have had a place in his heart.
the few times he didn't work, ryuunosuke spent most of his time with gin; being the elder brother he was, he made sure she was fine, medicating any possible wounds.
other days, he'd come to visit you at your house, with a bunch of groceries he and gin had bought beforehand, specifically for you.
that was one of those days.
initially, although he had a copy of the keys to your apartment, ryū rang the intercom to announce his presence. he received no reply.
with a suspire leaving his mouth, he opened the door and entered in your hallway.
ryuunosuke had not imagined that a door could hide a song's blasting sound; his ears could only sense the music, nothing else. with his usual soft step, he followed the pleasant noise to discover its origin.
saying that ryū was surprised would've been an understatement.
he wouldn't have ever expected to find you dancing amiably at the rhythm of a song. he was at a loss for words; not in a bad way, just straight-up confused. he never imagined you had this as an interest of yours.
when the song finished, you sat on the couch and wiped the sweat from your forehead.
“so, this is what you do in your own free time,” a cough escaped ryū's lips, making you jolt in surprise.
after hearing your partner's voice, your hands went to cover your face, hoping to dispel your embarassment while ryuunosuke sat next to you.
“c'mon, don't be shy now. they are [group name], aren't they?”
[ ☆ ] he would be willing to listen to your ramblings about them !! (though he wouldn't always admit it out loud).
[ ☆ ] also he'd secretly try to learn the choreographies watching your moves.
[ ☆ ] “secretly” hell nah his intentions are quite obvious but he'd deny it.
[ ☆ ] ryū would ask gin about k-pop and then impress you with his knowledge (again, he wouldn't admit it).
ATSUSHI NAKAJIMA :
[ ☆ ] he doesn't know much about k-pop, but he'd be curious about it !!
atsushi woke up from his profound sleep, lazily rubbing his eyes.
working at the agency was quite exhausting due to the many cases they had to solve in little time, this sometimes resulting in increased stress for its workers. because of it, sleeping in the afternoon hours had become a habit for him, a habit that he quietly appreciated.
the young man checked his phone and almost screamed at the sight of the day and hour: today you should have come to his place to spend time together! how could he have forgotten it?
to his dismay, you didn't leave any texts nor calls about the situation. atsushi sighed, internally panicking.
did they leave because i didn't respond to the intercom?
he got up and headed to the bathroom, with a bunch of new clothes, to fix himself.
gosh, he felt terrible for having overslept. however, now not much could be done about it.
when nakajima finished, he went to the living room to call your number and apologise for his behaviour, hoping that you'd give him an occasion to make up for this awful situation.
being still sleepy, he managed to not hear a song being played at a quite high volume; and well, he also managed to not sense your presence despite his special ability, beast beneath the moonlight, until this very moment.
atsushi was still a little dazed, but he could clearly see you dancing (quite well, in his opinion) to the rhythm of the music. he almost felt like he violated your personal space, being part of a moment where you seemed so free. because of this, he remained silent while a small grin appeared on his angelic face.
ultimately, the song came to an end and you sat on the couch, exhausted. it just so happened that you hadn't noticed him too.
“it was a k-pop song, wasn't it?” he softly asked, not wanting to upset nor frighten you with his sudden voice, and sitting next to you. “my apologies for having slept too much, i'll make it up for next time.”
you glanced at your boyfriend, giving him a smile. “no problem, really. and yes, it was a k-pop song.”
“you danced so nicely...” he shyly mumbled, his cheeks turning red while his hands played with the hem of his shirt.
you left a kiss on his forehead. “we can dance together next time!”
“i wouldn't say i'm a dancer...”
“you don't have to be a dancer to dance. at the end of the day, everyone dances differently,” you stated, playing with a strand of his hair.
a few minutes passed in a comfortable silence.
“may i ask a question?” atsushi muttered.
“go ahead!”
“how did you manage to enter in my apartment?”
you looked at him, then grinned. “you gave me a copy of your keys, dork.”
both of you laughed.
[ ☆ ] i hc atsushi as a person who loves listening to people speaking about their interests ! so he'd be so happy to learn new things from your knowledge about k-pop.
[ ☆ ] ^ his gaze would be full of love and admiration <3.
[ ☆ ] atsushi would love to learn the choreographies!! imo he loves dancing.

Opening Up
Demon Slayer
Might be a part of the Teaching Abroad idea I pitched a while back also will be evolving into a smut, but this here isn't smut. Pairing: Reader x Rengoku Kyojuro Warnings: Insecurities, mentions of stupid pranks, American Education, ex narcissistic lover, angst, Fluff, dark humor towards self.(if I forget anything please let me know if I need to tag it)
Part 2
Summery: As the English Teacher at Kimetsu Academy, you learn to open up more towards your colleagues regardless of what was pounded into your head from the past.
Story:
In the beginning, you were a mousy thing, unless of course you were teaching English that was. You were very inspired by the History teacher’s attitude, speaking loudly, with passion. Infact within the first few months of starting at Kimetsu Academy you saw an increase of grades, None of your students got below a B, and this you celebrated, and at the same time, reminded them, that their mental health is more important than their grades.
One thing you always vowed to yourself, was to be a better teacher than the ones that educated you. And it certainly helped being around positive charged attitudes of your peers.
However whenever a fellow teacher tried to strike up conversation you would freeze, unless the subject of discussion was something you were passionate about you were rather bashful of not wanting to interrupt conversations.
Turns out having a previous lover who was a Narcissist, and the American Educational system can really do a number on one's self consciousness.
Was probably even better that you were Teaching in Japan currently.
The two people you opened up to the most was Kyojuro and Kanae. You conversed with the other teachers when spoken to. Which led to one conversation.
Tengen popped a bubble of gum he was chewing. “So, (Last Name), Been enjoying teaching here in Japan?”
You nodded with a shy smile. “I’m still in the honeymoon phase, I don’t think I want to go back to America.”
Something sparked in Tengen’s eyes, and he doggedly gave his friend Kyojuro a look. “Honeymoon phase? Speaking of such, are you interested in anyone?”
While you blushed slightly, your heart screamed yes as your mind went to the flame haired man in the room. “Even if I was, I doubt anyone would be interested in me anyway.” another bubble gum pop.
Suddenly you were very conscious of every eye on you. “Not very Flamboyant of you! You’re a flashy woman, I don’t see how you don’t have a line of men…or women behind you.”
You felt insecurity step in, and you snorted out a laugh. Tengen frowned not understanding what was funny. You coughed realizing you made an awkward atmosphere. “Sorry…um, self conscious reflecting, first person that asked me on a date was an April Fools Prank, and the one person that claimed they loved me was married and was using me, so…Easier for me to deal with things with dark humor. Forgive me.”
You went to stand up to leave but Kanae jumped up. Grabbing your wrist. “Forgive Tengen he is rather a forthright person. He just assumes everyone is a hopeless romantic like him.”
Tengen raised an eyebrow, at that but shrugged “Right, So have you gotten any while over here?”
Your eyes raised sharply, “what makes you think I…”
Kyojuro’s hand met your shoulder, and he gave a sharp look at Tengen, “Out of Line my friend! This is a School, where we work, not ask about personal lives!”
After that, Tengen apologized and chilled out, he asked you to join the other teachers in their outings outside of school so that everyone could get to know you. Even offering to pay for drinks or volunteering Kyojuro to buy everyone’s drinks.
But there is no reason for anyone to waste money on me.
Every time Kyojuro heard something like this come from you his chest twisted. He wanted to embrace you in a strong, warm hug. Take away all of the self doubts, that was projected onto you. He wanted to kick your ex lovers ass. Wanting nothing more than to kiss you, making you feel so loved that you completely forgot everything negative projected onto you.
It filled Kyojuro’s heart to recognize that he was falling hard for you. What was difficult was asking you out.
You could do better than me!
Eventually he settled for asking you to a coffee shop to help him grade essays. Not being Stalkerish, but he knew your coffee order already, and would already buy it for you before you showed up. Maybe you just had to feel more comfortable around him one on one.
You would question, offer to pay, only to resign and accept your free coffee fate.
Midway through one essay, which was on Medieval Armor, and half way through a muffin, you choked, Causing Kyojuro to go wide eyed, “Are you okay?!”
You swallowed, feeling your face flush from the attention, and gave him a closed eyed smile, “yeah! I almost forgot something.” You rubbed your neck laughing, “While we were on our way to Japan, you technically placed a couple of orders of chainmaille, which you also bought the Materials, I actually got the four in one shirt done. If you could come to my place to pick it up it would be great cause it’s at least a hundred pounds. Sixty pounds…I mean twenty seven Kilograms….”
Kyojuro’s eyes widened at that, “Wow! So heavy?!”
You nodded, “Mhm, I could have done it in Aluminum but It most likely wouldn’t hold up for a while.”
Kyojuro shook his head as he stood up and gave you a hug, “No, Steel is Perfect! Thank you so much and yes! I’ll stop by your place!” He beamed down at you as you gulped at the closeness of his face to yours. He tilted his head seeing a familiar look in your eyes.
Longing.
Your heart pounded as his hand lifted to your chin, and raised your face, and he lowered his till his forehead touched yours. “May I kiss you?” Your heart skipped a beat, You don’t know what sounds came out of your mouth but he only smiled, “If you don’t want me to, I understand…” Kyojuro reluctantly moved gently away hoping you would say yes.
Respectful, always respectful.
“Ye..yes…” you whispered, he didn’t hear it, but read your lips, he softly descended onto your lips. Tasting the honeyed chapstick you usually applied to them.
The two of you forgot where you were, and heard an applause, and a couple of whistles. You broke away and buried your face into Kyojuro’s chest while his face and ears turned red, but the grin on his face never went away. He brushed his thumb against your cheek, and gave a gentle smile, “Hey, let me finish up these essays, and we’ll head out.”
Kyojuro moved to sit next to you as opposed to across from you this time. His arm brushing yours wanting contact with you. Your heart is still pounding. You shook your head of the sudden giddiness that filled your chest. “Um…I thought you wanted my help with those?”
Kyojuro gave a mischievous grin, “I…may have asked you to help to hang out with you.”
“Oh…” Sudden bout of insecurity sinks in. “Are you sure…you…want to…”
Kyojuro frowned, throwing an arm around your shoulders pulling you in closer, and kissing you on the head. “I’m positive.” he continued to work on the last couple of essays. And he paused in thought, “Are you still going to decline dates?”
You blushed, “I’ve never been on a date, so…It’s not necessary…”
Kyojuro sat straight up in shock. “NONSENSE! I want to spend time with you (Name)!”
You gave a soft smile, and punched back the negative thoughts. “Alright, if you insist, don’t tell me so I can’t decline.”
Kyojuro’s hair fluffed at that, “Surprise dates?! I like it!” you couldn’t help but to giggle at that.
Maybe it was time to try to open back up.

What do you think Nanami's parents are like? They clearly raised him to be a kind person. I'm curious what he'd get them for their birthdays or if he'd spend holidays with them
Honestly? I feel like his dad is a very strict but understanding man. He probably influenced Nanami to always be on time and always put his 100% into everything he does; even if it is something small like taking the trash out or making dinner. Everything has to be done with full focus and done with the utmost care, and he always reminds Kento to do the same. To never slack off even if it is something as small as tying his shoes. But he is also kind, always letting Nanami know that it is not 'unmanly' to ask for help and that you need to ask for help to improve. He never made fun of his son for liking things that are not viewed as 'manly' in the eyes of society, and even encouraged him to explore his hobbies.
I headcanon that Nanami likes playing the piano in his free time and prefers to read books instead of playing football when he was younger, and his father never stopped him from doing so. He lets Nanami make his own choices on how he wants to live his life.
His mother is probably an absolute sweetheart lmao - bakes cookies for the neighbourhood kids every weekend and helps out at a local animal shelter. Probably the woman who taught him how to fix a button on his suit, brush and style his hair, and keep good hygiene. I feel like she's also a more traditional woman?? I don't know, I just see her being someone who teaches him about how family life is important, and how to find the smaller meanings in his daily routine. He was probably also the one who taught him how to speak Dutch and English even though he's brought up in Japan.
Nanami has a close, and I mean a really close relationship with his parents. Always takes the holidays off, even before when he was working a normal job, to spend time with his family. I headcanon that they probably moved back to Denmark after Nanami got settled in Japan because they want to retire on a huge plot of land in the countryside is owned by the family(yes, I headcanon this blonde ex-salaryman to be from old money. He just gives me that vibe). So Nanami will always take 2 weeks off at the end of the year, where he will fly back and spend Christmas and New Year with his parents no matter what.
Even after he got married or has a girlfriend or whatever, he will bring them along because there is no way he is breaking tradition. Plus. I think we all know Nanami is the type of man who dates to get married - so there is no way you're not going to get close to his parents. He also gets them gifts that he knows they'll like - maybe a random book his father had mentioned that he wanted to read for a while now, an expensive bottle of perfume he knows his mother loves, something random like a houseplant or even those replica models of things like boats or whatever for his dad.
Both he and his father are huge nerds - don't fight me. His mother is the survivor of the Kento family home. She still loves her dorks though.

MHA Soulmate AU Dekusquad(Minus Uraraka)
weird-questions-from-an-infp-t said: Hello again, may I request soulmate au for the dekusquad? If it's too much you can just do Midoriya, todoroki, and tsuyu
A/N:I don’t write for Uraraka a lot, sorry, and I will write for Todoroki but I don’t know if I’ll be any good. I don’t know why Izuku’s was so long LOL
Characters: Izuku, Todoroki, Iida and Tsuyu Izuku (Credit to Spuky_Cat on Twitter)
Soulmate AU: Drawing on skin Izuku and you have been soulmates since birth but sadly you two didn’t speak each other languages. You had lived and grown up in a fully english speaking household that was unable to teach you Japanese but they quickly signed you but for classes once you explained why you wished to learn so badly. Inko was able to teach Izuku a few basic english phrases she remembered from high school but also signed him up for classes as well. Once the two of you were able to communicate without a ton of errors in grammar and such it became much easy to learn about one another, hobbies, favorite things, how their day was going, etc. After begging you parents enough, they finally agreed to a family vacation to Japan. You quickly share the great news with Izuku who also couldn’t be more thrilled, asking questions like when you would be there and for how long. You let him know you will be going next week and Izuku wants to know everything like where you are staying and what not. You provide him with the info and make plans to meet up on your second day since you aren’t getting in until late on Friday afternoon and you will be tired and jet lagged. You two agree to meet up and get breakfast together as a first meeting in person and a date. Soon the fateful day comes. You hop out of your hotel bedroom and get changed into the cutest pair of clothes you have before texting Izuku. You and Izuku are the first to lock eyes as you two see each other in the hotel lobby. Izuku engulfs you in a huge huge. “You are even prettier than I imagined.” Todoroki (credit to todornotodoroki on Twitter)
Soulmate AU: Pain If there’s one thing he hated about himself the most was the suffering he caused his soulmate. The pain of his eye burning, hero training, fighting villains. It all caused his soulmate to suffer. He had grown more tolerant of the pain he endured but that didn’t mean he didn’t feel extremely guilty over everything. One day when he was much much older, he was out on patrol as a pro hero. He started to feel extreme crushing pain around his ribs and stomach. Soon enough he got a report of a villain attack at Ueno Park in Tokyo, not far from where he was. Todoroki rushed to the park as quick as possible before noticing some villain terrorizing an innocent jogger. He was quick to defeat the villain and then head over to the jogger who was attack. Todoroki still felt an extreme pain in his side when he noticed the jogger had a broken rib. He looked at them and nearly began to cry. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.” Iida (Art credit to bakuatsukiyu on Twitter)
Soulmate AU: Dreams You and Iida have been seeing each other and meeting each other in your dream worlds since the two of you were little. His silhouette had always been taller than you and much larger. You two of you couldn’t share names or location but both of you spoke Japanese so you two could both figure out you lived somewhere in or near Japan. The two of you came up with a small little code, “Purple really brings out your hair color.” Even if neither of you were wearing purple, it worked to figure out who was or wasn’t their soulmates. You and Iida got stared at a lot. It was almost funny how strangers looked at you as if you were insane. Both of you were big nerds and studied together. A lot of your classes seemed to go over the same material at the same time. Strange. One day as you were making your way to the cafeteria you hear the fateful question expect the man asking it was talking to one of your classmates, Reiko Yangi. You quickly live your spot in line and grab his arm. “Can you repeat that?” You ask frantically. Iida gives you a soft smile. “Your purple tights really do bring out your hair color.” Tsuyu (Credit to Amedan1126 on Twitter)
Soulmate AU: First Words Rabbit. Those words had been imprinted on your arm forever and you didn’t know why. In what context? Those questions were forever stuck in your mind and they weren’t answered until much later in your life. You worked for a traveling carnival/circus and today you were dressed up in your most scary costume of all, a bloody maid. It was a halloween themed carnival after all. You knew that your favorite pro hero, Froppy, and many of her friends were coming to visit. You just hoped to be able to get a chance to take a picture with her. While you were out working the main area you noticed a small group approaching your area. You hid a bti before jumping out and scaring the group, especially the green haired female who shouted a loud, “Rabbit!”

Can I please request an ftm reader who's in a relationship with tomura? where has a tik tok where he posts about jokes, dead memes, food. Hot topics in Japan, screaming randomly seeing a little frog at the Park all while speaking English so basically live stream where reader consumes all types of hot wings and sauces where the viewers see the LOV while seeing the mystery famous tomura shigaraki brings jugs of milk and laughter. Would tomura learn English to understand his bf tik tok? As readers fanbase they hear language barriers which is why reader can get away with it.
𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫
a/n: if anyone is fluent in japanese please let me know if i wrote something wrong or used the wrong tone!
Warnings: me using unreliable sources for japanese, brief mention of shig’s childhood
You didn’t want to consider yourself an influencer. Sure, you had over four hundred thousand followers, some of which loved to dm you random things, ask questions about personal life, and seek out advice. You even had a Japanese following, probably because you taught phrases to your viewers every once in a while and it had peaked their interest. And okay, maybe you worked on a brand deal or two. But you hated the idea of being labeled as an influencer. You were just a man doing what he loved, cracking jokes about your favorite subjects, telling stories, sharing recipes, livestreams showcasing your favorite places in Japan. Your boyfriend, leader of the League Of Villains, Tomura Shigaraki, only knew broken English. It was often taught at a young age, but because of his childhood he never got to fully learn the subject. Plus, with barriers to his memory, it made it harder for him to understand your TikToks. Every Friday you take the time to teach him common phrases, though! He still liked every video, tuned into every livestream, and let you use his phone if you needed two of them. You never planned things out, you just went with what called out to you for the day.
Your last TikTok livestream had been a wild one, you were rambling about your spice tolerance when someone in the chat had mentioned trying the Hot Wing Challenge. It blew up overnight, and you woke up to your twitter chiming with excitement over such a simple suggestion.
That led you to where you were now, blinding yourself with a ring-light and setting up Tomura’s phone. You tried your best to hide anything that gave away your own, along with your roommates’, whereabouts. After doing so you adjusted your shirt and started your live, smiling at the camera. The chat rolled in whilst you struggled to read questions. After a failed attempt at reading them out loud, you pick up the plates beside you and hold them up to the camera.
“You guys wanted me to try it,” You hold up multiple different sauces, one of which has a skull and crossbones over it. Surely you’d be paying for this later when you need to use the bathroom. “They all ship at different times.”
Behind you, a raspy voice asks a question that the audience can't translate, but they put pieces together as you laugh and shake your head. You respond with "Damare!” (Shut up!) before making a show of putting way too much sauce on a drumstick and sinking your teeth into it with faux aggression. You chew quickly, hoping that the faster it’s gone the less it’ll obliterate your taste buds. It doesn't necessarily taste good, and even if you like spicy food it isn’t exactly satisfactory on the tongue. You must be making a funny face because there’s two more sets of laughter behind you, and the chat is moving much faster than before.
There are five levels and five different drumsticks, so only four more to go. A voice that doesn’t belong to Tomura, but a cheery teenage girl, almost breaks the sound barrier as she chants “Skip it! Skip it! Go to the last level!”
Curse Toga and her influence. She was a popular guest (though it was her voice only), lots of people had commented how they loved her when you made a collaborative TikTok with her, and she had a huge impact on your viewers. The chat that had just been telling you you needed to every wing had now jumped to telling you to move onto the spiciest level, just because Dracula incarnate had just told you to.
“Fine!” You grumble, picking up the smallest drumstick and pouring a generous amount of ‘Blair’s Ultra Death Sauce’ on the small wing. The moment you let it sit on your tongue you regret it, forcing yourself to swallow and tapping the table aggressively. “What the fuck? What the fuck?!”
Your nose is runny, tears fall from your eyes and you make the mistake of rubbing them away with your palm. Shooting up from your seat with a groan, the only thing you can say is “Water! Tsumetaimizu! (Cold water)”
Your skeleton nearly jumps from your body when Tomura (or at least you think it’s him, you can barely tell from squinting your eyes in effort to remediate the burn. He hands you a glass of milk with maniacal laughter. There are people in the chat bullying him for his laugh, calling him cute, and freaking out because they think they recognize him.
“Manuke, (Dumbass)” Tomura laughs mid sentence, the milk slightly spilling onto his fingers as you rush to grab it from him. “You should see your face right now.”
You chug the glass down, wondering if squeezing some into your eyes would help with the burn. You force them to fully open, watching as every member doubles over with laughter. Of course they’d laugh at the suffering of others.
“Our eyes match,” Tomura says quietly. Then, he picks up your half eaten drumstick and takes a bite, making a high noise in the back of his throat. You get ready to laugh in his face and call him a moron, but he doesn’t seem phased at all. Quite the opposite, really. “Totemo oishii desu (It’s very tasty).” He says with a smirk. You’d kiss the stupid look off his face if there wasn’t sauce on his lips and an audience of nineteen thousand.

Do you have any older klance headcanons
sure!
they don’t have kids. keith has too much damage about families, lance already feels fulfilled with the family that he has, and they’ve already had enough responsibility to last them a lifetime. they just want to spend the rest of their lives enjoying each other’s company and having fun
they do get married, eventually, though keith still thinks marriage is unnecessary and bowing to the wills of the government. he ends up giving in, though, because he knows its important to lance. they get married on varadero beach and honeymoon in space on lots of different cool and exciting planets
lance starts getting facial hair and he hates it. he literally learns how to wax his facial hair out because he hates it and doesn’t even want stubble. keith doesn’t get much but he shaves away any he gets. he thinks facial hair looks gross but he doesn’t mind the stubble enough to deal with the pain of waxing it
lance: ugh get your gross scratchy stubble away from me ew
keith: i literally have like two tiny patches of stubble. you are so dramatic
lance, sticking his tongue out: gross old scratchy man
keith: i’m 25
lance goes to college, keith doesn’t because he doesn’t like structure but he sticks around for lance’s sake obviously. lance is an undeclared major for a while but he ends up going into marine biology. he’s had enough of space otherwise he would do astronomy...but he’s really just in college for fun and not career prospects (they plan to live the rest of their life blackmailing the garrison for money and otherwise just working whatever jobs are fun for them at the time)
once lance is out of college, they move around frequently. after being in literal space and not staying in one place for more than a few days, it feels super unnatural to think of staying somewhere forever. plus, if they move around they get to see the whole world. they rent apartments for 3 months at a time, or if they can’t do that, they just get a longer term airbnb
one of their favorite places they ever live is japan actually...keith has been learning japanese in his lots of free time, trying to connect with his culture and stuff, and he teaches lance enough to get by (though in most cities in japan, you can get by on english). they stay there for like, almost a year. it’s a fun place and they spend lots of time exploring and finding new and interesting things to do
lance becomes way too obsessed with gacha machines. keith comes home and lance is like “look at all these new things i got today!” and it’s like 3 tiny kirby figures and a tiny pokemon plush
keith’s favorite part of japan is cat island. lance has to stop him from adopting 20 cats
whenever they’re in between places they live, they go visit someone they love and crash on their couch
they visit shiro and adam, who live near the garrison still. shiro never stopped wanting to teach, so they got the garrison to set them up in a cool ass apartment nearby. shiro loves when they visit and takes a whole week off work the first time just to hang out. keith just wants to chill, but he humors shiro because he knows he should. the good thing is that adam is an excellent cook, so it’s nice living with them
keith also gets to walk around the garrison like a ghost when he visits shiro. he likes finding hiding places to pop out from and scare the shit out of iverson
hunk is living in an apartment in new york with pidge, and they’re living out their dreams (meaning hunk is a chef at a 5 star restaurant and pidge is hacking whoever she wants for fun. she gets a monthly stipend from the united states government to keep her from hacking them. sometimes she does it anyways).
hunk and lance have missed being together so much. pidge and hunk get a special rendition of the dance that hunk and lance made to gwen stefani’s “hollaback girl” when they were kids
they occasionally visit allura, romelle, and coran in space, too! allura is busy a lot with her new role of queen of the universe but she always finds a few days to hang out with the old crew whenever they visit
they also visit florida and cuba to see all of lance’s family! lance gets a lot of time to show keith around his hometown(s). keith still isn’t huge on the beach, not a fan of the heat or the sand, but he loves seeing lance in his element so much that he will always go along without complaint
hope this was good anon! sorry it took so long!

Your blog makes my heart explode, it turned in the place i go to whenever I want to feel butterflies and uwu!!! I was wondering, how would a relationship with Bakugo be with a foreigner, like would he embrace their culture or would he see a future with that someone? I saw this study that japanese men find foreign women attractive but just for fooling around and not marriage stuff and my mind went there idk maybe it sounds weird. Fell free to ignore this if it's weird heh
Appreciate your words! You're absolutely adorable and now I'm the one feeling butterflies! 💖💗💖💗💖💗🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
And wow, that's interesting to say at least and I googled it myself to see; I'm not gonna lie, it's not surprising and it points out that the cultural difference could be a problem in long term relationships that's why they're more reclutant about marriage. Japan is very traditional so that's why I said I'm not surprised and honestly it's an issue in multicultural couples everywhere. Been there, felt that...
That being said, let's talk about Bakugou:
× i 100% stand by this: Bakugou dates to marry.
× could definitely leave the ask like this and feel good about myself bc i trust those words.
× one thing about this man is that if he likes you, he likes you
× it's a matter of attitude, not origin, not heritage, not quirk related, not looks, but your personality
× even before dating he will research about your home country and traditions as the curious man he is [ thinks it's not a big deal, he just wants to know where your dumbass came from, like whateverrr who caressss ok but what did you say your birth city was called? how do you spell— 💀]
× and if you are still learning about japanese ones, he will teach you about it in his own way because of two points.
he genuinely wants you to like Japan; it's is homecountry, his origins, he grew up with those traditions and would like to enjoy them with you
it's an excuse to spend time with you; he might act a little indifferent about it [ as he avoids being aggressive with you ] but he likes your company and the small smiles he sends you give him away
× if you're still trying to learn japanese, don't worry, he's a nerd so he knows English but will point out mistakes in grammar or pronunciation; don't mind it, again, he won't mock you, he actually respects you for actively trying to learn another language and mastering it
× even if he did read about your country, he won't ask about it much before dating and it will take him some time to ask afterwards too; absolutely does not mind if you do start talking about your country on your own though since he's learning new things about it and about you, which he then adds to his mental PowerPoint about you
× why doesn't he ask, you say? at first he's interested in your personality and once he's sure he's into you, he'll then slowly think about having a future together, and this guy, this guy is a thinker so he goes through all scenarios; another thing is this dumb pomeranian wants to keep his indifferent act;;
× he does think about cultural differences but doesn't see them as a problem. if you managed to catch his attention and got him to think about a future with you? he's gonna embrace your culture altogether; you already won him, congrats
× food will connect you two and i feel he'll use cooking time to bond together
× he will teach you how to cook japanese food so maybe teach him recipes from your culture? if you don't know, pull some recipes from google and make a disaster together, he doesn't mind much; istg he's gonna cook better than a local grandma after a couple of tries 💀[ specially if you're homesick and enjoyed his other tries, Chef Bakugou will basically do it for u bby ]
× traditions are a big thing too, so whenever you celebrate something he will pay close attention and definitely butt in and ask; the difference from before is that he doesn't have to pry to find out, it comes naturally and that saves him some blushes and the conversation can be more natural while keeping that indifferent pomeranian act i told you about before [ as you bond closer he will get over this issue, don't worry ]
× "So what's it about?" says in a bored tone but his eyes give him away, curiosity getting to him
× just tell him but please, tell him about your past and memories related to those traditions
× language, you say? if your mother language is english he will perfect it bc of you and if it's not;;; ok look, he's a lil shit, ok? so guess who learns how to call you a dumbass in your own mf mother language? ye, that's right
× this is a whole fluff hc but he's extra at doing things, right? when he knows he loves you and tells you the first time, he will tell you in your language
× bc your face is priceless and that's his shit; legit cocky grin and snickers in your face
× tell him "I love you" back and watch him turn into a stuttering tomato
× it will become common between you to say it in your language, it's like a secret only you two share
× by secret i mean everyone knows he's a simp but now ✨international✨
× once Bakugou knows it's time to meet your family, he will actively learn it though, at first without your help; he still has this dumb idea that he has to be the best at everything without seeking help but once you find out and he sees how absolutely enamored you are by his actions, you'll become his tutor [ full time job and you get paid with food and sneaky forehead kisses ]
× he can't pronounce something? gets angry and tries until he does; he ain't a quitter 💅
× makes you repeat the words a lot though, he likes watching your lips move and the way you speak? y e s
× one thing that is make or break in the relationship is where you decide to live long term so pretty early in the relationship you'll know he's not moving away from Japan
× he has his goals and dreams and definitely wants you in them but moving away is something i feel he wouldn't do
× yet he's all up for vacations twice a year or so; remember he wants to be a hero so he won't have time to go more than, but he will want to explore your country with you by his side, also to meet your family and put to test those tutoring classes he got from you;
× once you're married and have kids [ yeah, he wants the whole package ] know for a fact those kids will take part in both cultures; loves your heritage and wants to pass it to the future generations; imagine multilingual mini-Bakugous, i—💖💗💖
× his parents! the Bakugou household is pretty modern and they wouldn't have a problem at all with you being a foreigner; they'd be very interested in learning about your culture too and honestly, they don't mind where you are from as long as you love their son [ they feel blessed someone can handle his dumb ass but ok ]
× fashion designers as they are, they gonna be interested in your traditional clothing; seriously, they'd love to know everything about the topic and even implement them in some of their designs if there's no issue from your side
× overall once Bakugou knows he wants to pursue you, he will go all in for you
× bc he a simp and genuinely appreciates everything about you 💕

Dunno why this came to mind...maybe calculating Jakurai’s deal here...Who knows but here I am imagining how much schooling these boys have gone through.
As a note, I am not saying their schooling level as any jab to them. All people are different. Some would prefer going to school, some do not have the opportunity and some have other things to do. It really is many reasons why they would or wouldn’t go on. And I’m just guessing what I think they’ve done based off information we have of them.
Buster Bros!!!
Ichiro I feel only completed compulsory school and some of high school. He was too busy supporting the orphanage and his brothers to really keep up with it. And considering Yorozuya Yamada is likely their only source of income, he hasn’t really gone back either. I don’t that particularly bothers Ichiro since while he wasn’t bad at school he wouldn’t say he liked it either.
Jiro is at the age where he didn’t have to go to school anymore but Ichiro made him stay. As it was just better options for Jiro if he does finish school. He also doesn’t go to cram school as 1) he can’t stand school as is, 2) he likely goes to help Ichiro with the business and 3) there’s a chance they can’t afford to send him. Despite the latest drama tracks, I don’t see school being a point of contention between them even if Jiro doesn’t like school. I don’t see him pursuing a traditional higher education, if he even goes at all.
Saburo is still in compulsory school as far as I understand so it’s not really a question of if he goes. But obviously Ichiro would want him to stay. Especially him because he’s good at it and seems to like it. That and it might help Saburo’s social skills to have to be around kids his age. For the most of the same reasons, Saburo doesn’t do cram school either. If anything he probably could tutor if he didn’t get so easily frustrated with people. I do feel he could make it to the top schools when he gets older but I see an interest in going overseas for uni.
Mad Trigger Crew
Samatoki I don’t think went past compulsory schooling. He was too busy with yakuza stuff to really deal with school. I see him getting into a lot of fights over his background, namely badmouthing of his parents. He probably had Nemu stay though because he wanted her to have options. I think he’s really good with money even though he probably hasn’t had to worry about it for a long time
Jyuto I initially was gonna say did go to college but researching a little bit, he probably didn’t. He only would need to finish high school and pass exams. Which I feel he was prepared for. Like I think he’s been set on being a cop for a long time and worked for that. Which is why I’ll also go out on a limb and say that in high school this boy was a runner so he was also in shape for his training when he passed exams. I also think Jyuto was a good boy student.
Rio likely went into military service as soon as he could, which I believe is 18 over there. It’s a little harder to tell about how the service was since the world of hypmic is one that had another war, so it’s likely his time was busier than what it would be normally for someone in the navy. He absolutely could’ve gone to uni and come back to get a better rank but I don’t think Rio really cared about that aspect of it. (This man knows communications and some hacking, you cannot tell me he couldn’t have gone far) I will say he likely took advantage of his half-American status and is fluent in English as it would’ve been useful for joint exercises with the states. I think the dissolution of the navy really shot him in the foot but he’s just too resourceful to keep down with that.
Fling Posse
Ramuda...obviously didn’t. And I don’t think his records would show anything. Like if it had to show anything, it would probably show him going to a super large school where it’s completely possible no one knows who the hell he was (because he was never there). And if he was based off someone, he likely had some of his credentials taken from them. He understand the culture of schooling though, I mean his style and personality does seem to draw girls high school age and older.
Gentaro is pretty hard to imagine to be honest. I don’t see him enjoying his school life and being around classmates for an extended amount of time. And while I think he could’ve spent some time in academia in literary research, I also see him finding it way too stuffy for writing. But I think ultimately...he went to uni for a short time. For some reason I just don’t see him vibing with how the system is for it.
Dice did not. I don’t think he finished high school although he could’ve if he wanted. But he probably avoids it because it’d be an easier way to keep track of him and run contrary to his stray sort of life style.
Matenrou
Jakurai...is a doctor...I sure HOPE he went to school for his profession. So he studied some of the stuff you need for doctoring during his time as an assassin but he didn’t actually go into studying to be a doctor until he quit his killing at 23. He probably went into the national defense medical college, which seems to be 6 year program but you have an extra 2-3 years of compulsory service with it. I think he likely finished his compulsory service, at the latest, a year before the Dirty Dawg timeline. Or OR he faked his schooling and just knew the equivalent knowledge from his time as an assassin and was able to pass his exams and later studied whatever he lacked. He’s basically fully legally certified NOW, don’t worry...
Hifumi I just can’t see going past high school. Like I’ve always seen the incident happening in his last year of high school and it made it difficult for him to even finish. And considering he claimed in the first Matenrou drama track that he didn’t find a way to live with his phobia until he was 20...I don’t think he went. Not that he would’ve been interested in it. Hifumi is interested in what he likes and wouldn’t want to put the effort either way. I don’t think he really cares and he has more than enough skills (and money) to do just about whatever he wants.
Doppo likely went to uni. He couldn’t get into the real prestigious schools and knew he couldn’t so just went for wherever he could get into rather than wait to test again. I feel like his degree is in either accounting or business. I think he had a part-time while in school to pay for it since it seems like his family might not be as well off or he didn’t want to burden his parents (in a passing conversation I think he mentioned paying for his brother’s exams or schooling). For some reason I also can see him having a minor in biology because I see him either knowing a lot about plants or knowing a lot about marine life. What kind of person just thinking of a water flea for like a small creature?
Dotsuitare Hompo
Sasara I feel like he didn’t go past high school. Not that he couldn’t. Just that he didn’t find a need to? Not when he was set on going into comedy. Like it was either make it or be trapped with his family. And he was hard noooope.
Rosho....is a teacher? I sure HOPE he went for his teaching certificate. I don’t think he was going to initially and might not have while he was doing the comedy game with Sasara? Their time line is a little fuzzy, I haven’t found the indicator of if Rosho and Sasara disbanded before he went to MCD or after. If it was before, then yes he went to school after they disbanded. If not, then he was in school while doing the manzai thing. So yeah dual major of mathematics (or statistics) and education (he didn’t need both but I have faith in him).
Rei most definitely went to fucking uni. This bastard would let you think he didn’t but he did. He’s probably a fucking doctor or just shy of it. Drives me mad. Why am I sure? Because if Rei is behind the hypnosis mics. As in the designer and/or inventor of it, he is a scientist or engineer of some type. I see him having a degree in either biotechnology or neuroscience. I learn towards the latter because I feel like he also got a minor in psychology (or y’know what, business is possible too for a minor). Just to mess with people.
Bad Ass Temple
Kuko I feel was the same as Ichiro in that he went to high school but not necessarily finishing it. I don’t believe he would’ve had to...if anything he’s gone back to his teachings at his temple. Yet it seems he doesn’t do that either so I’m not sure. I just don’t think he did anything past high school.
Jyushi I think he might’ve just finished high school? I don’t know if he was just finishing or he’s soon to be doing exams. But I think he’s going to finish regardless. Y’know I feel like Jyushi would’ve liked going to uni. I can’t think of what he’d go to school for though! Would it be adding too much work to a passion if he did something with music theory?
Hitoya...is a lawyer? So yeah? And you have to wonder if Hitoya is a masochist or loves to learn or what have you. Because he was in medical school WITH Jakurai. And then when they part ways, he quits and then goes into LAW. Are you kidding me? Hitoya, Hitoya please...I looked it up, he HAS to be a masochist! Law in Japan is super hard to get into! It has one of the most difficult bar exams to exist! What are you doing, man??? Although...I think Hitoya is still fairly new as a lawyer though because him starting when I assume Jakurai started school at 23, would have him only being fully practicing for 5 years. And that’s assuming he dropped out the first year and not later...which would only shrink he years outside. Unless whatever he got for his bachelors was applicable for law too (behavioral science?)...either way, yes he’s done it and he sure does do a lot to beat a guy that doesn’t even know they’re competing.
