I'm back on that sydcarmy ectocooler because I just listened to this interview with jennifer castle about her song blowing kisses and I have thoughtsss under the cut

so apparently she had already recorded the song and she then sent it to matty as a sort of pitch to see if it could be included in s3, she mentions that it was a matter of figuring out if/where the song would "fit" in the show, and I just find it sooo interesting that it was chosen for sydney in a very introspective scene where she's basically deciding her future

and don't get it twisted my heart's still in it my dedication's a star and it shines on our differences and there's love in the meantime jennifer says that the song is about something that you're not able to speak about, but that you just gotta have faith and keep moving forward, so it's not hard to see how it relates to sydney's current situation and how she's unable to speak to carmy about it

like they're giving each other silent signals, maybe even subconsciously (the wider margins, the dish that looks like syd's scarf), they have bleed into each other's lives!!!

they're both not saying what they feel/mean/need to say to understand each other and move forward together, although they already have established a very non-verbal form of communication (like the I'm sorry sign, which was never used this season), idk if it's enough to get them through this disconnect, hopefully this is what s4 will revolve around anyway, i just find it funny that CS and co. heard this song and went hmmm where could this fit?? who is this about? oh yeah, this is for sydney... which could mean nothing

I would have more sympathy for people complaining about "Damian being treated as Bruce's only real child because they are related by blood" if Damian didn't literally spent probably over 75% of his existence doing something far away from his father while Bruce doesn't even comment on the fact that he hasn't seen his son in months and has no idea what he's doing.

She needs to worry about her grades being high enough to get into uni, not worry about weather she's gonna be all alone because of her passport.

Yeah dude one side has it significantly worse than the other but I do know one thing: I won't stand for a genocide. Right now, for me, that means supporting the palestinian people in any way i can, weather it's reblogs or donations, but that also means I won't trust the people who want all the israelis dead.

Also on the subject of Nemesis (like I didn’t make that last post a week ago now), another thing that almost definitely led to its breakdown was that a bunch of people, many of them utterly amoral and with a lifetime of ugly, ugly secrets, woke up in a machine with absolutely no privacy from each other. Every memory they had laid bare in a brainspace of their peers. Every thought, every action, every secret they never shared with anyone, suddenly out there in the open. Even if they had the ability to partition away the pieces of themselves they didn’t want seen, with the speed that advanced data processors can process data, there wouldn’t be a point. All that they were was known by their fellow brains. It’s one thing to know someone by the public face they choose to wear. To know that one facet of themselves that they show the world. But every human being is an iceberg--a veritable universe of secret thoughts and feelings and actions beneath the public facade. Even a good person with no dirty laundry to air would not want their privacy violated so thoroughly, and the Zeniths? Well. Most of them probably wouldn’t have gotten where they were by being good, honest people. How many of the Zeniths actually liked each other? Much fewer, for sure, than the ones who merely tolerated each others’ company. And then suddenly they’re all forced into a shared space with nothing but each other and the cosmos of lifetimes of private thoughts and secret deeds. No rest. No escape. Only knowing themselves more completely and intimately than the closest of friends, family, lovers... The Zeniths didn’t like what they saw when they looked at themselves. Imagine how Nemesis must have felt.

I keep picturing a scene where Alisaie is grumbling and whinging about how the Exarch won’t take care of himself and how frustrated she is that she’s getting so worked up about it, then Alphinaud casually says “Well it’s because he’s your type, isn’t it?” and Alisaie reels like he just called her a slur.
