I saw someone post a tweet about how a lot of people in the Inquisition must have suspected that something was off about Solas, and out of all of them Bull knew that there was something fishy going on for SURE but the scope of the whole thing was just too big for him to have guessed exactly what was going on.
So, that made me think how the whole reveal must have been like if it actually happened in our world and oh my god it's SO ridiculous.
Btw, this is obviously OOC, but it's just. Solas makes SUCH a character oh my god.
---
Imagine you are an Interpol agent that joins the CIA for this one very important and very specific mission. Everyone knows that you work for another organization and you are a trained and highly competent agent, but the situation is so dire that the CIA is basically hiring everyone who could help.
So, there is this one very weird guy.
He wears an old hoodie and yoga pants. When asked where he came from, he tells you that he is into outdoor living, so just "outside, you know, somewhere". He has no qualifications apart from being a skilled hacker and really really really good at navigating the Deep Web. In fact, he's an expert at it, to the point of being the Deep Web specialist of the team. He walks around BAREFOOT.
He is a WEIRDO.
You assume he is just some guy probably over his head, pretty helpful but that's kinda it. You are going to keep an eye on him anyway, as you keep an eye on most people.
And suddenly, things start no adding up.
You ask him how he learned to hack into the deep web and he answers that he just likes sleeping under bridges and there is very good internet connection there, so he ended up learning. He doesn't elaborate.
For a guy that spends all his time sleeping on the floor and hunched over a computer, you notice that he is actually BUILT. You cannot tell over the oversized hoodie, but that guy has muscle. Once it comes up, he looks you in the eyes and tells you that that's just normal when you live in the outside like him.
You need somebody to pilot an helicopter. He knows how to pilot an helicopter. "Oh, I just watched a video tutorial. You know, in the Deep Web".
You need to steal some nuclear codes. "Oh I know how to cancel those nuclear codes. I found a lot of documents explaining how to do it. You know, in the Deep Web".
You need to plan a coup. "Oh yeah I know all about backstabbing politics. I found a list of all the relevant politicians and the country's corrupt history. You know, in the deep web"
You are in the middle of said backstabbing and he's slightly tipsy looking fondly at the whole thing like "oh how I missed the vibe of a nepotist state. No one throws a party like corrupted politicians- Not that I've been in one before, of course. I've only seen videos. You know, in the deep web"
He drives the other two expert hackers out of their minds. "I don't know how you managed to get this position, you don't even have a Doctorate" "Doctorates are overrated, I think you all would do better if you came to vibe under a bridge like me"
He actually is OBSESSED with overthrowing institutions.
The hackers tear him a new one because they find his Hacker Drip lacking (fair). And he smells like Cheetos.
"I made a lot of friends on the Deep Web forums"
At this point you are convinced that this guy HAS to have something else going on. There is simply NO way someone would know so many things from his deep web premium access under a bridge.
Your best bet has to be that he's another secret agent, a very highly trained one at that, right? Or maybe a highcore antifa member? He either has inside information of the CIA or he's looking for it. But he has been ridiculous helpful so far, so you just can't tell what he's hiding and why.
And then one day guy, this FUCKING guy.
He shows up and tells your Boss that he's actually the ancient god Loki from the Nordic pantheon. That he created death, but is sorry so he's actually going to join the Earth with Heaven and Hell. A lot of people would die because of the Demons and you know, Earth as it is not existing anymore, but that's a sacrifice he's willing to make.
Now tell me, how the FUCK were you supposed to guess THAT.
#solas dragon age#dragon age#dragon age inquisition#solas#iron bull#This is a hahaha funny post that I wrote in one go so sorry for the mess and the inaccuracies!#I hope y'all have a laugh at least

Should've Been Me
Michael Kaiser/F!Reader | One sided Ness/Kaiser
rating: mature
summary: Ness’ obsession with Kaiser has created a loathing for you, Kaiser’s girlfriend. Your birthday party just happens to be the iceberg that sinks his titanic
word count: 1.1k
note: Ness doesn’t hate women he just hates you. I've also had this in the drafts for months and finally finished it bc i was thinking about Kaiser/Ness
He had no desire to be around you, the beauty queen constantly posing for pictures with Kaiser and other friends as you navigated your party. He didn’t want to be there, but the whole team had been invited and he knew that Kaiser would be disappointed if he didn’t show up. It was out of respect for his friend that he was at this pool party - at least that’s what he told himself.
He spends a lot of time studying you like he would tapes of old matches; but the play he was analyzing was how you navigate your guests, moving through the crowd smoother than he could dribble a ball and exchanging pleasantries. Sometimes you stop for a while, usually when you’re stopped by Kaiser or one of your close friends, and as the ever attentive host you paid careful attention to what everyone needed from you.
Kaiser finally stops you on your third lap around to greet and check in on guests, loudly letting everyone know that if they needed you they could come find you, pulling you to sit on his lap at one of the poolside tables. Ness is forced to look away when a pointed look is shot over your unsuspecting head - telling him to be nice and stop staring. The blonde had always known there was a tension, Ness just hoped he didn’t know exactly what he thought about the influencer girlfriend. That would be potentially catastrophic to their friendship - and Ness really liked having Kaiser’s friendship.
He just didn’t like how you and Kaiser seemed to be having a wonderful time, in your own little world where he could just rest his chin on your shoulder and kiss at your skin like a devoted lover. Of course there’s footage of it that will live on your Instagram; stories and posts revolving around the internet showing off a life that appeared to be so perfect. You were happy, popular, made good money just being places and making cute videos with your cat, running an instagram for said cat, and had your own human version of a housecat in one Michael Kaiser the star striker of the Bastard München. And how Kaiser would do anything for you, to keep his beautiful social media star happy - Ness just didn’t get it.
What was it you had that he, Kaiser’s best friend, couldn’t provide? He was right there, had been since the start, but Kaiser picked you after you and your cat had been invited to a soccer game (turns out even Noel Noa liked your content). The tattooed blonde had one conversation and got to take a picture with the cat and your claws had been sunk into the striker ever since. Not once had you loosened your grip, not even when you two were oceans apart and arguing over jealous words and revenge partying. Kaiser was obsessed with you, and Ness doesn’t get it in the slightest. But he’s not even sure what he hates more: you or the fact that he couldn’t figure you out?
When he gets up to get a drink, he intentionally walks over to where you’re still seated comfortably on Kaiser’s lap, and he knows that you’re watching him despite the mirror lenses hiding your eyes. Instead of the sharp eyes that cut right into his soul, he’s staring back at his own forced smile as he asks if his teammate or the birthday girl wanted anything from where the drinks and food were set up. Both smile and shake their heads, Kaiser joking about the only snack he needs being the pretty girl in his lap which has Ness holding back a gag at how corny the usually cool striker was. You at least thank him for thinking of you before Kaiser is waving him off to go have fun and stop sulking in the corner - both offering to introduce him to one of your friends that apparently had a crush on him. An invitation Ness declines, instead asking for them to point out the woman so he could introduce himself while knowing damn well that he wasn’t.
“Is he okay?” Ness hears you ask, but he doesn’t hear the response that Kaiser gives - whether it was to assure you or tell the truth about his own suspicions regarding Ness’ behavior, the best friend didn’t know.
When he returns to his seat, Ness does a double take on the way. Kaiser was gone, and so was the little influencer that the blonde was wrapped around. Ready with a lie about needing to use the bathroom, Ness makes his way back through the little groups of people enjoying themselves while looking for Kaiser. The last place to look is inside the home you’d rented for this occasion, his nerves on edge at not knowing where his friend was. Did he leave, pulled away from the party to go galavant with the horrible host?
“Always so tight.” Ness hears Kaiser before he sees the blonde, and peeks into the crack left by a partially open door to see the one sight he’d never be able to scrub from his mind.
Kaiser, his best friend, balls deep in the woman that Ness hated more than anything. Kaiser pulling soft whines and mewls from your still glossy lips with the force of his thrusts while he was whispering soft praise into your ear.
“Oh, fuck,” you breathe, fingers digging into Kaiser’s muscular back. Your sunglasses are gone; on the floor with your cute expensive sandals, bikini bottoms, and Ness’ stomach at the sight of you taking his friend’s cock. “Mic-“
“Shhh.” Kaiser’s covering your mouth now, relying on the wall to help in keeping you balanced as he maintains his pace. “Can’t have anyone finding us, birthday girl.”
You nod, and he lets your mouth go so he can kiss you, muffling his own pleasured groans as his hips stutter before finally stilling against yours.
“Need you to keep all my cum inside, yeah? Then when your party is done we’ll keep celebrating.”
The promise from Kaiser should’ve been Ness’ invitation to leave, but instead he’s caught with wide eyes and a growing bulge in his shorts at the sight he’d been treated to. Michael truly was beautiful, and the knowing smirk that stretches across his face only further complements the blonde’s natural beauty.
And then there was you. He swore you looked smug as hell as Kaiser pulls out and tucks himself back into his swim trunks. You were winning, Kaiser was yours, and you knew that just as well as he did.
“Alexis, you can be the first to know,” you start, keeping your hands on Kaiser’s shoulders as he ensures your balance despite your still shaky legs. But it’s then that Ness sees it, a blue stone sparkling in the light on your left hand - on the finger that sealed your fate with Michael Kaiser. You’d never let Kaiser go, he was perfection personified and only an idiot would let him go, which meant that you would be in Ness’ orbit forever.
Fuck.

You guys do not want to go down the road of starting to make blanket declarations that specific ships are "problematic" and "triggering". And let me explain why.
ACOTAR fandom, in my experience, is notoriously very far removed from general fandom. It's big and dispersed across many platforms that weren't created around fandoms, and so a lot of people enter it having little to no experience in other fandoms.
This discourse about what is or isn't a problematic ship and what kind of person ships a couple like that is not new. Fandoms of yesterday yore have had long fights about this and a general consensus has emerged which is anytime you start playing the morality policing game around people having fun with fictional characters, everyone loses.
Let's take this situation with Elain Archeron Week which is explicitly banning submissions for Elain with characters who are canonically known to be abusive to a romantic partner. Generally, the spirit of character weeks are to be ship neutral and importantly a concept that has emerged from prior fandom morality policing debate is the term Ship and Let Ship. Which means just because something isn't YOUR ship doesn't mean you need to come up for reasons why it isn't CORRECT to ship.
So, you think it's morally incorrect and triggering for people to see Elain paired with an abuser or a "bad guy"? That is okay for your own personal beliefs but if you start making rules around it for something that is supposed to be inclusive where do you draw the line or what that means? How about pairing Elain with the guy who runs Night Court Abu Ghraib? A role that means he actually tortures people physically and mentally to the brink that they are forced to "confess" to crimes. Is that some how morally superior to another character who emotionally abused their partner and confined them to a house?
See. That didn't feel good. Now did it? Do you actually want to get into a discussion about which wrong is morally worse than the other? Especially when it concerns a character week that is supposed to be about positivity and people having fun because they love Elain and they love the different interactions she could potentially have with characters in fanon?
And that is the entire point. When it comes to fiction, we all will be seduced by characters who have done bad things. Things that will trigger people. But, and I mean this whole heartedly, no one else is responsible for your triggers but you. You are the only one who knows what you can and cannot handle. Your Mileage May Vary. Tumblr's tag filtering system is in part for this very reason because of how fandoms use tumblr.
When you have a fandom wide event space, generally it's a bad idea to start throwing up these judgmental rules around people's character interests and shipping habits. Of course, any event runner is entitled to do what they please. But you also have to expect those who are excluded or know people who will be excluded are going to have something to say about it.
I really think the entire ACOTAR fandom could benefit from getting curious for once and actually digging into the histories of fandom, fandom lore and vocabulary, and start learning from from fandom elders. If so, we'd all be able to navigate these situations with a shared language that recognizes that the primary goal of fandom is to have fun first. And everyone's fun is going to look different and each individual is responsible for deciding what their squicks and triggers are. And the whole point of a squick is to let someone know this thing bothers me personally but I understand if it doesn't bother you. That sort of back and forth empathy across each side is how fandoms don't burn down in flames and people don't feel shame about what they like in fiction.
Now any fandom event can make whatever rules they want. But what I already see is a bunch of people (e/riels) are now actually making posts about why others who ship Elain with Tamlin are morally inferior, disgusting, perverse, and bad people. But hear me out, someone can easily think and say the same thing about you and your ship and if that is the kind of environment you'd like to fuck around in, well, aren't we all the worse off for it.

One of my favorite types of Rain World rooms are rooms that supposedly have additional cameras/room connections, but they don't.
What do I mean by this? here is an example:
LF_J01 is one of the rooms that bugged me the most, especially when when I notice it during my countless rain deer rides. It's eye catching and makes you wonder if you can bring a grappling worm all the way from the Underhang just to test your dumb theory, only to realize it's not true and be so disappointed.
Fun fact, Rain World Drought is perfectly using this room's potential: by using it as a connection between your starting region and Farm Arrays.
The tutorial room also gets it's own secret, where eventually you find out about it at the start of the Spearmaster campaign. Downpour in fact have a lot of these, and it's one of my favorite additions in this DLC.
Not a secret, just a whole huge region connected through this singular room connection.
Unfortunately SI_C09 didn't receive any additional room connections from the DLC. I remember the first and only time this room tricked me like the fool that I am, into thinking there is a continuation, and got me to jump cluelessly to the left and fall to my death. I guess it's had to do with how open seems this part of Sky Islands look. Gameplay wise I can understand why it stops there, from that point you guided to go up into the heart of the region. And expanding the room from that point, kind of adds too much to the region and makes it more chaotic and confusing to navigate than it needs to be.
Last but not least, this room always seemed odd to me.
Considering that you climb up towers many times in Rain World, it's not very visually appealing when you can't climb up to a place that looks like it has an upper part.
But in all of the presented rooms, you can quite understand why continuing on the region from there would be weird. You have to create a weird fork in the map that distract the player from actually progressing through the game's entire map. And often it makes them get lost and frustrated. this is one of the common causes that makes new players lose their interest in Rain World.
Although you could also go against that point by claiming that Rain World's core gameplay is exploring and getting lost in the world, or at least is what makes the game so appealing. And expanding the region would help increase that feeling of being lost in a complex simulated ecosystem.
I can still understand that for vanilla Rain World, this game is not for everyone. but I mean if you chose to play Downpour as your first experience, that is kind of your problem. Because the whole point of the DLC is to expand significantly the map of the known world.
uh, um. I think got a little bit carried away, lol. This post is still about silly rooms, but I feel like I can't really talk about cool rooms and regions without talking about their important role in the core gameplay.
#rain world#text#LF_J01 is a special case because you're in the endgame#and probably raiding the rain deer#so creating an alternative path/bonus room is weird#I'm a map freak you can tell#tonight my dear.. I'll treat you with some ROOM ANALYSIS

Re: Post-COVID Stan and his Job, a Kind-Of Defense:
Soooo I know a lot of folks aren’t too happy about the fixed/final timeline’s Stan’s future job in the Space Force, and I get it. But I’d like to argue that it isn’t as far off base for his character as many folks give credit for. I’m not saying it’s the perfect job for him, but it’s not completely off-base, and I really do think the creators gave careful consideration to his job here.
Before I explain, first let me say that I do understand some of the frustrations and wish they would do some type of episode about the Space Force with Stan as a kid to establish his interest in it, or at the very least in a government job. It’s not like Stan hasn’t been to space before or had Space themed episodes (pinewood derby being a very underrated episode), but the Space Force is such a ridiculous concept that it could be a funny episode and parody and could help the ending of Post-Covid feel more well-rounded. They could have an episode where Stan has to get rid of the Space Jail his dad had created and dealing with the Space Cops or some shit like that.
I’ve seen some discourse asking why Stan couldn’t have been a musician or a vet due to his love of animals. To answer that - I think it’s very realistic that Stan didn’t end up a musician. I’m just going to leave it at that. Most people don’t make it in the music industry, and I really don’t think Stan would take it that seriously as an adult to try to navigate that. He’s not that naturally passionate. I think he’d more likely keep it as a hobby. It’s just the reality of things (though I think a fic in that direction would be valid and interesting. Lmk any fic recs for that).
As far as being a vet goes - look, I love animal lover Stan, but let’s think this through logically. He loves animals, and it’s adorable. But that’s exactly why he would HATE being a vet. It’s canon that Stan doesn’t do well with blood, and it’s canon that Stan does not do well with animals being in pain. Being a vet literally combines those two things together that Stan viscerally hates. He’d love being able to be around animals, sure, but he would hate having to perform surgeries/see animals suffer. It would deepen his depression, and he would be too queasy to handle it according to canon. Again, it’s one thing to see this in a fic and I think that would be cute. But in a canon episode? That would make no sense and would be contradictory to several established character points.
So if being a vet or a musician are off the table, where does that leave us? What are some of Stan’s strengths, or some things we know about him that would translate well into the professional field?
Well, we know he loves board games (this is not a one-off from an episode, there are SO many instances of Stan and his complicated board games, whether they being showcased in the background of his bedroom, or him playing them)- and these are not surface-level board games like Settlers of Catan (which I can totally see him looking down on as a ‘way too easy and therefore boring game’). We’re talking about games that take grown adults years to master, let alone learn the complex rules. Not sure how many of you have delved into these types of games he likes, but some of those games are almost like learning a whole new language, and the amount of strategizing you do in the types of games he likes is very high (and we know that Stan can strategize/think quickly on his feet well).
His skills in board games translate into how he navigates the world pretty well. We also know that he shows high critical thinking skills (sometimes to the point of being too critical. Him being diagnosed a ‘cynical asshole’ by a doctor wasn’t just because of the depression- he kinda always has been one to an extent, even before that episode) and very easily sees through bullshit. He also is very adaptable with natural leader skills and is good at adjusting to his environment physically, so I have no doubt that he would be able to learn about, say, working a spaceship.
Basically, a lot of Stan’s strengths that I think are often slept on in the fandom overall are all the things that would translate quite well into some type of military or government intel analyst role. The ridiculousness of the Space Force also aligns with the ridiculousness of South Park in general 100% (there’s so much satire potential there). It also just went well with the political climate of the time the episode aired.
Fun fact: according to his uniform, he appears to be a Chief Master Sergent, which is the second highest enlisted rank possible. He also has an insane amount of awards on his uniform.
One of Stan’s weaknesses is that he has a lack of motivation. I can absolutely see him being unsure of what to do in life but not wanting to be like his dad and joining the military to help at least give him guidance/something to make of himself in his life when he lacks the motivation/structure to think of something himself. And then I can see it evolving from there as he joins the military/how it adapts to his own natural skills. I also think he would secretly like the status he would gain from ranking high up.
Btw this is kinda off topic but I completely head-canon that Craig also works in the Space Force with Stan. Also, Stan is not short (look to the screenshots). . Looks to be the tallest of the main four, followed by Kyle, Kenny, then Cartman who is quite short.
#south park#stan marsh#sp stan#post covid#south park post covid#space force#bruh why can’t paramount JUST LET ME FUCKING SCREENSHOT#Stan and Craig work together in the space force. it’s canon

your "hard to swallow pill" post was so refreshing to come across while scrolling the dnp tag. so many of these fans just focus on how "dnp are the ones making the jokes, ofc they're okay with it!" and refuse to look any deeper than that - as if this justifies anything you could possibly say about their relationship! they might be fine with some of it now but as you said there is also some very real bitterness about how their privacy has been invaded in the past, and we should all be aware of that. I also just find it strange to interpret all of their interactions as if they're leaving us hints about their relationship at all times. not everything is a hint for us specifically and the idea that they would be hyping up their relationship reveal as if it's an upcoming product they're releasing is very odd to me. and the way people overanalyze every single thing they say is getting annoying especially when the fans are gasping about a phrasing that would be completely normal whether someone is in a platonic or romantic relationship.... it's a bit much at times
sorry for the rant in your inbox, I just really appreciated your post! <3
hi anon, i LOVE this ask!!!
i posted it mostly because i've noticed some people tentatively making similar posts and noting that they were afraid to do so, as it may be an unpopular opinion. i shared my opinion to make it easier for others to start these kinda conversations.
i absolutely agree and think that some fans view dan and phil's videos through a strong shipping lens, and so everything they say is placed in the context of their relationship. people begin to watch phan instead of dan and phil. which is a little sad to me, as they are both great entertainers outside of their relationship, and we know from dan that the true nature of their relationship is the one thing they get to have that's just for the two of them.
to be fair, it is tricky navigating this as a viewer—the product that these entertainers are selling is their dynamic, their friendship, and so we are invited to engage with it. but we also have to police ourselves, because we are guests invited to experience a bit of their friendship. we are being sold the product of "dan and phil", but we also don't own them. i think it's healthy to take what they do/say at face value and to not fantasize about what they must be doing off camera. (i mean, having these thoughts are fine of course haha, it's okay of course to ship them. i just think we should step back and understand that us creating expectations for their relationship can be hurtful for a fan in a parasocial sense, and when taken to far, can become invasive. ie. the point of the "we are in a relationship" dystopia daily video. and so, we should ship phan with a grain of salt.)
i don't think anyone on tumblr's causing real harm/stress to dan and phil, and they're adults they can handle their audience, but i'm sharing these thoughts to encourage a certain mindset when we watch their videos! we have responsibilities as well.
like you, i also personally find it annoying when people take normal sentences/actions that dan and phil say/do, and then extrapolate their headcanons onto it to make it shipping content. 🥸 people say they're joking about the marriage theory, but there's a difference between saying smth genuine in a silly/joking tone, versus actually treating the whole thing like a joke. 🥸 but these folks are just shipping! as long as they know they are putting the fiction in rpf, and don't become obsessive, there's no harm. the phandom is the most mature and healthy it's ever been!
#shipping is so intertwined with the phandom that it's sometimes hard to engage with it when you're not much of a shipper and#your knee-jerk reaction is to defend d&p from shippers#but remember that they've made peace with it and are only against speculation & over-analyzing & invasions of privacy#ask#chirp#dnp#dan and phil#phan

MICK SCHUMACHER MASTERLIST
✦ MICK SCHUMACHER ▶ MS47
All my Mick posts here
▸ main masterlist | patreon guide ▸ taglist ▸ who I write for & guidelines ▸ subscribe to Patreon for exclusive content ▸ tip me on ko-fi
KEYS: s: smut f: fluff a: angst ✷: Patreon exclusive
― ✦ SERIES
king of my heart: Mick Schumacher rode a lousy wave for quite some time, so when the sky gets cleaner and the sun brighter he just knows something terrible may be in store for him. Whereas y/n was just so magnetic, and the possibilities of life with her seemed better than anything his mind could ever create, that’s why, for the first time in forever, he threw caution carelessly through the window, hoping to get to the finish line before it catches up on him.
― ✦ SOCIAL MEDIA AU
I don't wanna be your ex (f): Y/n and Mick used to be the golden couple in the paddock, that’s why the internet went wild when they announced their breakup. Imagine how they reacted when Y/n dropped a song about not wanting to be his ex. Would the couple have any hope of getting back together?
sunshine (f): In which Mick starts dating an earthy/spiritual girl who just loves nature and good energy.
it was always you (f): Mick and Yn decided to stay friends after breaking off their two years relationship, but it seems like things weren’t that broken. Maybe having the same friend circle and seeing each other all the time meant that things were never really over.
angels like you (a): They say misery loves company, maybe that’s why Yn accidentally made Mick miserable too.
super shy (f): The one where your boyfriend is your biggest fan to the point of turning his account into a fan account or something of the sort. Or, Mick and Yn’s relationship through the years
go shawty (f): Every year Yn gets Mick a unique birthday cake. This year she’s ready to surprise the internet and her boyfriend again.
― ✦ BLURBS
I regret meeting you (a)
Say it again (f)
Friends don't (f)
I think I'm in love (f)
Speak now (a)
Light's on (f)
Suck it (s)
All mine (s)
Morning light (f)
Schatzi (f)
Beautiful things (f)
― ✦ REGULAR IMAGINES
our baby Angie (f): What happens when Mick refers to you as Angie's mom?
rosy cheeks, salty hair, warm bodies (s): After finally matching their schedules and booking a trip together, Yn and Mick decide to go to Mallorca for a well-deserved break. The fact that they went weeks without seeing one another and the tension around the hot weather and beach garments only helped build the momentum in which her boyfriend would absolutely ruin her in bed.
cherry (s): Mick has an idea while lying in bed during a lazy weekend, and Yn is more than ready to oblige.
suit testing (s): Yn decides to tease Mick until he gives up and takes her against the bathroom door while still wearing his racing suit.
an avid learner (s): Mick has been nothing but an attentive lover since they started dating, what Yn didn’t know was that he would be even more attentive in bed. It’s their first time having sex, and Mick is an eager learner, he’s set to make sure Yn forgets she ever dated someone before him.
banana pancakes (f): Mick is used to racing cars and living at high speed, but lazy rainy mornings with you are his favorite. Cuddling in bed, making banana pancakes, and listening to the rain fall down while swinging together on the front porch, no travel or circuit beats these moments.
love sips (s): Some bad moments leave the feeling that your whole day was destroyed. Sometimes, all you need to navigate life’s ups and downs is someone to remember you that bad events don’t equal a bad day, Yn decides on a very peculiar approach to remind herself that, and Mick, her boyfriend, is happy to help.
god is a woman (s): Making out in bed never felt this deep and heart-stopping, but dating Mick and having him love you is a full experience of being a goddess. Your hips were his altar, and he would swear to everyone that God is a woman because you’re it to him.
call me obsessed (s): Everyone talks about how good it is to date someone who’s exactly like you, but Mick has been finding it hard to believe, especially when his girlfriend has the same sunshine energy as him. The problem? Too many friendly flirts around her. And though he’s not a jealous guy, he finds himself ready to praise her and prove to her that he’s the only one. You can say he’s obsessed.
twisted love (a): The rule is clear for all celestial beings: to love the Almighty beyond everything. They can’t share the feeling. It is perpetually prohibited for angels to get fond of humans, especially the protector angels. They are the ones who will follow their human on earth and protect each one. Those Angels and the humans are the same pairing throughout time. Mick watched Yn die and come to life in different forms each period, and he fell - in love, and from Heaven. Years after searching for Yn, he found her again and he’s ready to get what’s his.
I'll always take care of you (f): The flu caught you out of the blue and completely unprepared, good thing you have your boyfriend around to take care of you.
to build a home (f)✷: Mick and Yn are used to sharing everything, and always spending time with each other. i am 24, from chicago and i have a crush on youuuu
You are very sweet to tell me and this is my opportunity to talk about how healthy internet personalities or "celebrity" crushes are to young lesbians finding thier own sexuality in a world that mostly assumes people straight (becuase statisically that is objectively true).
I still, to this day, remember, as a teen and young woman having a crush on Christy McNichol, Nancy McKeon (or more particularly her character Jo), and Tatum O Neal. There were older women like Markie Post and Erin Gray who I crushed on. "Ooo older women, they are so steady and have their shit together .. and HOT". I actually knew very little about them off screen. My Teen magazines were featuring TEEN stars, for good reason.
But I still crushed on them and watching thier sitcoms. Most of these women were straight but that was not really important. What was important was they were not really real. I could build them to be how I want to be in my mind using the superficial things I could see about them or learn from little interviews etc.
The internet has changed that dynamic slightly. I am accessible. Reachable. A real person. I wonder if someday media experts will refer to"CowboyJen" as a character I created. They would be wrong but I would understand the thought process. There are aspects of my life I don't share. No one wants to see me ass dragging at 10 pm after a 15 hour shift sitting on my bed trying to untie my shoes before I fall asleep or cleaning my bathroom . My life is entwined with others and I protect their privacy unless they agree to participate.
I do answer DM's. I do respond to comments. I am not simply a character on a small screen that does not interact with the audience. That is a shift in the "celebrity" paradigm. And it can make crushes seem much more real.
What I want to address is that crushes and fantasizing about other women IS NORMAL and healthy and a tool to help us figure what we like, learn to enjoy our sexuality. I remember feeling shame for thinking about these women because it was "dirty" and "creepy". In reality it was no such thing. It is just a normal part of being human, to seek out a safe outlet for fantasy, day dreaming and forming our dislikes and likes in our own head and heart so we can translate that to our real dating/love life.
Crushes don't stop at the teens or 20's. I would argue most adults experience crushes as well and it is just another tool in our humanity that we use to navigate the world we live in.
The largest difference is my generation's crushes were relatively unreachable. Fan mail was mostly answered by an employee or a hired service. Any contact in real life with back stage passes or "meet and greets" were heavily controlled and monitored for safety and to protect the image of the celebrity. And also to often to prevent the musician or actor from over stepping his/her bounds too.
Now many smaller scale recognizable people are accessible in real life. We live and work in our communities. I didn't create a character I just share my life and my reality because I think it can truly give other lesbians and women hope that we are not destined to life of stereotypes because we are butch, or lesbian, or bi or female or not rich or any number of things that get false expectations attached to it.
I guess what I am saying is your crush is healthy and normal and I would never shame anyone for having such feelings towards me. It is also my duty as a role model to not breech appropriate boundaries and I take that job very seriously. The fact is I travel to Chicago on occasion and I am out and about in the real world so the chances of me meeting followers like you and and others is highly likely at some point. I love meeting people and often to respond to and meet followers, who become my friends, in person. We are all people and I am dead serious about forming intergenerational lesbian connections in real life.
Your crush is your safe place to explore emotions and attractions so enjoy.
Side note: I don't not consider myself a "celebrity" LOL I am using that word in the broad sense as meaning a recognizable person outside of my in-person friends and community.

--
“And I was thinking we should go to the country house for the weekend, it could be like a getaway from the city. No phones or wi-fi, just us. What do you think, honey?” Steve asks, his blue eyes squinting at your figure, who continues completely focused on the phone.
“Honey?” he repeats himself, his voice only demonstrating a small hint of anger as he reaches to tap on your arm a bit, successfully grabbing your attention.
You look at him, confusion blinding your eyes which only makes Steve even more annoyed at you.
“Yeah, sure, sure. Whatever you want, babe.” you hurriedly agree, returning your attention back to your phone. Steve clenches his hand and takes a deep breath as he tries to keep his anger away.
It’s hard to live in this new modern century where everyone has technology addiction. He usually tries his best to be patient when you’re glued to the device or when you ask him to take millions of pictures of yourself, just so that in the end you only choose one to post on your social media.
It’s complicated though, he’s a patient man but even Captain America has his own limits to the point that it’s reaching its end.
Steve isn’t blind to the way that you seem to rejoice with all the attention you receive online. With Natasha’s extensive help, he actually managed to learn some rudimentar basics of navigating the online world, going as far as to creating a secret account.
All of this just to keep track of you - a man needs to keep tabs on his woman, of course.
Yet something that worsened his mood was noticing how many pictures you had displayed there, with an abundance of male comments where most of them used very vulgar language.
Something you clearly had no problem with. If anything, it seemed like you thoroughly enjoyed the attention, rewarding those unknown men with even more pictures of you wearing scandalous outfits.
Plus, having a decent conversation with you was getting harder and harder as your attention was uniquely on your phone at all times. You had no time to even make small conversation, much less discuss future life plans.
Snapping out of his thoughts, he signals the waiter to bring the check and quickly pays, helping you to stand up and dress your jacket.
“I’m gonna start planning for our vacations. You’re going to love them.” he says, grabbing your free hand. You don’t offer any response, the fingers of your free hand rapidly tapping on the screen. Steve swallows his annoyance once again as he makes up his mind.
He’s not going to tolerate it much more.
“Steve! Oh my god!”
Steve is leaning against the kitchen counter, merely watching as you struggle with your phone. You’re trying to go up on the couch of the living room, elevating your phone in hopes of catching a wi-fi signal.
Steve’s lips curl at that sight, it’s nice to see you so desperate, so needy for something.
“Darling, I told you we don’t have any internet here.” he patiently reminds you as if you’re a child. Your hand drops as you gasp in horror, looking back at him.
“But…but…I need it, Steve.” you whine, a pout starting to form on your glossy lips. It makes Steve’s dick feel alive, he likes it when you beg. But right now, he has to be stern about this.
“No, you don’t. A few days without that annoying device won’t kill you.” he places his hands at his hips, his tone getting sterner.
“But-”
“Enough, goddamnit!”
You immediately shut up, frightened by Steve’s shout. The hand holding your phone slowly falls down and you look at Steve, shocked. His face turns almost remorseful for a moment, but then that expression disappears and he returns to his normal self again.
“Now, let me show you around. You’re going to love the house, the master bedroom is really huge and has one of those big television screens, the garden is just…” Steve rambles like he didn’t just snap at you.
He offers you a wide smile, motioning towards the stairs with one of his huge hands, but you remain glued to your spot, hand strongly clutching the phone as if your life depends on it. Ironic since it doesn’t even have a signal.
“I think I wanna go home.” you declare with a shaken voice. Steve’s smile disappears and an impatient expression takes over.
“Nonsense. We just got here, honey.” Steve rubs his face, as if he’s tired. His voice starting to have an annoyed accent, making his irritation more obvious. You don’t like that.
“I want to go back.” you repeat, stepping out of the couch and starting to head towards the main door.
As soon as your hand reaches for the handle, a muscled arm bars the door. You turn your head towards Steve, his brows united in an irritated frown.
“Why do you always have to be a fucking brat?” he raises his voice and you immediately take a step back. He’s never spoken to you in this way.
“Oh now is when you decide to get scared? Not when those creeps comment on your slutty pictures online. Maybe that’s what you like, huh?” He darkly chuckles, seeing you scared.
You keep your silence, your heart throbbing in your ears. The door is so close but you know that with Steve around, you’ll never actually get to leave. This new Steve is starting to scare you.
But you can’t go against him, you have no idea what he’ll do yet one thing is clear: he’s much stronger than you are.
As the silence uncomfortably grows, Steve lets out a sigh and removes his hand. You don’t dare to move, knowing that he won’t let you leave.
“Listen, I just want to spend some quality time with my girlfriend. Is that too much to ask?” he says, his voice sounding honest and apologetic. Like he’s the old Steve.
You look at him and that's when it strikes you. You can’t leave without the car.
Steve is the one that drove all the way here and you did notice the house being located in a secluded area, no stores and no other houses around.
It took almost one hour by car to get here, no way you’d be able to find your way back without the car. Whose keys are with Steve.
You stiffly nod and Steve immediately takes your hand with a strong hold.
“Let’s go on with the house tour then. You’re going to love it, honey.”
Silence and darkness rules over the entire house. No city sounds that usually disturb the night. You don’t like it, it’s too peaceful for your taste.
It’s boringly calm, but Steve probably loves it hence he fell asleep so fast. You can’t hear a single sound coming from his room, meaning that he’s most certainly asleep.
It’s time, then.
You rise from the bed and silently tiptoe towards the living room, not even bothering to grab your bag or to dress in warmer clothes. You’re eager to get out of this horrible place already and once you reach the city, you’ll just break-up with Steve and move on with your life.
You saw Steve placing both the house and the car keys inside a bowl on the counter, next to the door after dinner. It’s perfect, when you think about it.
You can lock Steve inside and take the car. Not that a weak lock would do much against Steve’s inhuman strength but the idea grows into you, it doesn’t hurt to lock a door.
Finally reaching the living room, you almost run towards the counter. You immediately dip your hand into the bowl, only for your fingers to grab air. Your eyes widen in horror and when you look, it's empty.
A cough is heard from behind you and your heart drops to your feet.
No, no.
This cannot be happening, not when you were so close to freedom. You squint your eyes tight for a moment, trying to muster up some courage before you finally turn around.
Steve is leaning against a wall, a slightly annoyed but mostly arrogant expression on his face.
A growing smirk curls his lips, amused to see you try to get away when in reality you'd never be able to do so. You were too busy with your phone to realize that the house had an eletric fence, one that required a code to open. Silly you.
“Looks like you’re stuck here with me, babe”

The Death Of A Website.
tl;dr click source to see an AU of my blog.
As many of you may not have heard, Cohost has gone read only. The website infamous for "Zero Discoverability" and its users "Not Being Funny." Servers will close down at the end of 2024, if not earlier, being backed up on the Internet Archive before that. Since their user counts were still low after 2 years (about half of all sign ups ever were from people evacuating twitter, which then didn't know how to use the site so most left almost immediately. Kind of hilarious) they didn't feel like anymore money bleeding OR the fact that a staff of only four people being on call 24/7 was worth it anymore.
However,
the people who DID use the site loved it. And they did some genuinely cool things on it, far cooler than anything I ever saw even in the glory days of Tumblr. You know, like Finn and Jake hi-fiving between 2 posts. Stuff like a playable maze, or a fully navigable 3d room you move around in with your mouse entirely within a post. They really did some cool stuff.
There were also a ton of really talented people, people like the composer Lena Raine(Celeste/Minecraft) who loved the site because you could just. Actually talk to people on it! Without an algorithm to boost their posts, the only people who saw it were genuinely looking for it.
Also some of them were just good posters, we did get Pikmin 18 billion and eleven from Cohost after all.
The point is, I think if anyone outside of Cohost actually knew what was being done on Cohost, it would of succeeded. There would of been enough active users for them to invest more. If I knew about all of this I would of been there way more!
But rather than just you blindly believing me, I decided to spend (almost) every hour I would of on Tumblr, on Cohost instead. Clicking that link, or the source, or the link on the source above in the tl;dr, will take you to my Cohost blog. At least while it's still read-only.
You should check it out. I reblogged a lot, but the first page or 2 (every 20 posts, I kept trying to stop but I got sentimental and reblogged more) is pretty much just people's last posts. I'd say give it 3 pages to see if you're interested or not in exploring more of what the website has to offer.
If you've ever wondered what people would post on a dying website,
If you ever wondered what some of the best posts people were making on Cohost that got shared again in its last dying moments were,
If you want some reference for what inside jokes would look like to an outsider,
If you're just bored and need something to scroll through,
if you ever wondered what I would of reblogged on that website if I remembered my password easily enough to log back in easily...
You could think of my blog as a small encapsulation of a small website. There's only 60 pages, including the ones from before the announcement from me just rarely using the site!
I reblogged all kinds of posts. Goodbyes, sarcastic hellos, mourning, long speeches about the spirit of Cohost set to sad music, nothing burgers, inside jokes I didn't understand, The New Garfield, posts I flat out didn't read past the title because they were too long and I just wanted to move on really there's a lot of posts to archive, CSS crimes, stuff I found funny, "Where to find me" and webrings and website posts for people I never knew, Love Honk, reviews for movies and games I never intend to play or watch, 88x31 buttons, music recommendations and history, entire games, signing up for RSS feeds, asks and answers related to other stuff I didn't share on accident, regular memes, Intern Secretary Eggbug, a post that's just an image hosted off-site so it'll update even after readonly, and so on.
(Nothing overtly NSFW. Tag search still works if you want that)
One that I, personally, am sad is gone. That I'm glad I got to see at least in its dying days. That I genuinely hope someone makes another attempt at creating.
#Cohost#The Death Of A Website#The Global Cohost Feed#<- there was no algorithm or 'new' section so a lot of people just tagged everything with this to do that. Kind of funny tbh#yes btw the 4 people also handled all of the site moderation. This did in fact cause: problems sometimes#if it's not read only by the time this scheduled post goes up uhhhh. Go Hog Wild I Guess.#I would go through people's blogs and random tags whenever my following tab dried up#so post type can get kind of clumpy sometimes. Feel free to skip forward or back pages if that ever gets annoying.#If you genuinely want to buy Cohost go make them an offer it is absolutely for sale btw.#The Cohost Global Feed#I definitely did not mix it up and am just being thorough

I was going to write a pretty long post about Epic Mickey: Rebrushed and post it on my main blog, but I didn't think anyone would want to read that, and then it led into me just making this blog. Haha. So I guess if you're here, you do want to read my long rambly thoughts. Here is what I think of the game...
I feel like we're living in a time where creativity is kind of running thin. All we're getting from the industry (and by that I mean Disney because they have a chokehold on everything) is remakes, remasters. Retellings. It's gotten to a point where indie projects feel more creatively sound than projects worked on by huge companies that have ten times the staff. I'm not particularly huge on video game remakes... there's very few remakes I prefer over the originals, and a lot of the times it feels like remakes are just being created to capitalize on the nostalgia people have for it without really enhancing or trying to fix the flaws in the original game. COUGH POKEMON BD/SP COUGH
And in that regard. Epic Mickey (2010) is a very flawed game. It has a lot of objective problems with the platforming mechanics and visuals and such. Mickey is pretty difficult to control... the slow platforming combined with the awkward camera combined with the extremely dark hard-to-navigate visuals made certain parts of the game either very boring or very frustrating. I consider Epic Mickey to be a pretty great game that just suffers from inconsistent difficulty spikes and unclear objectives (which is almost exactly how I feel about Undertale, one of my favorite games ever! so don't take it personally Epic Mickey, heheh)...
Now that Rebrushed is out, I have to say... it turns Epic Mickey from a good but flawed game into a really really excellent game.
Mickey is so fun to control, I'm triple jumping and dashing everywhere and having a blast. I never realized how lackluster the motion controls of the original game were until I played Epic Mickey mapped to a conventional game controller!! He's got a sprint... a more efficient spin attack... a ground pound, a dash... Mickey just feels so much more mobile now, and I never thought such a small change could improve the game so much... the platforming is fun now!! And the visual overhaul really really helps with that, too. Some people were upset that the atmosphere is less dark, but I welcome it with open arms. Who knew that being able to see the the world and the things around you... would make the gameplay easier to understand? Gamechanger...
Besides the platforming overhaul, I really really like how they handled the quest system here. I'm gonna be honest, I rarely did the non-story important quests back in the original game because it was just so hard to keep up with-- and I don't even remember what the original organization system for the quests were. But now they're so incredibly easy to do!! The game lets you know exactly where you need to go to do the quest, what you need to do, and who you need to return to when it's finished. And I ended up doing just about every quest in the game!! Even the boring ones like painting in the plants in each hub world and fixing the Bog Easy bridges. I did end up missing a few quests... a couple of characters showed up as Lost Souls in the final level, which only makes me more determined to do all of the quests in my next Paint route playthrough. And that's crazy!! I hate side quests!!
I just really appreciate how hard the game works to make sure that you're not without an objective to reach or thing to do. The map shows you exactly where you need to head in each level, along with the updated quest journal, along WITH being able to talk to Gus in the overworld (which I'm sure was a thing in the original and I just don't remember it, he seems much easier to locate now..), in general it feels like the game is working with you to ensure that you don't get lost. Maybe it's just doing it to make the game easier on young kids, but is that so bad...?
Quality of life updates... being able to skip the projector stages is pretty convenient. Originally those stages didn't bother me as much as they did other people, but I will say that I did skip them just about every time, heheh. Along with the small changes made to particularly frustrating missions... I noticed a lot of the time-based mini objectives were either eased or removed completely. That's nice! And turned enemies converting other enemies with Paint, now, instead of thinning them out is very nice. Also... the hub worlds staying painted / thinned out!! It really makes the game feel like it's dynamically changing with your choices. I feel like I'm making a difference in this world when I walk into a completely painted Mean Street-- and on the opposite end, it's super eerie to enter a completely empty one on the Thinner route.
On that note... I see people complaining that the morality system of the game wasn't changed, and it makes me scratch my head a little bit. This is a problem people have with the original game-- that the differing routes of the game feel underbaked, and while I can understand that perspective I don't really agree with it.
Epic Mickey is a game that is meant to dynamically change with the choices you make. In that regard, you're not railroaded down any certain path. There is one singular main story, one main objective-- to get the rocket parts and go home-- and that doesn't change depending on what path you take. How you get there is what matters, and the world changes to reflect how you've affected it. The music changes, the townies carry themselves differently and have different dialogue, (the overworld now sticks to your modifications!!) your relationships with characters progress in different ways... and, in that sense, the Thinner Route is not meant to be a giant, bombastic smokeshow of violence and chaos... it's a subtle degradation of the world around you. It's something you're meant to FEEL, even if you can't see the effects immediately. It's a story about decay and neglect. Which is also what the Paint Route is about, but in a different way.
And, even further in that regard, I don't think anything needed to be changed about it. There's no need to change the cutscenes; Oswald's going to give Mickey back his Heart no matter what he does, and I feel like that aspect of his character only enhances the Thinner Route and its consequences. Oswald may hate you if you're a Thinner crazed mouse that goes around destroying and neglecting everything... but he also loves you!! Because, at its core-- Epic Mickey is a story about love. Changing that for the purpose of making a more "satisfying" morality system just kind of goes against what the game is.
...I think that pretty much wraps up all of my important thoughts on the game. It's no doubt the definitive way to play it. Even if I advocate for the grimy, unpolished look of the original game... Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a clear example of what a good remake IS. It was definitely a game that NEEDED to be remade.
And not just because I love it so much! But that may have influenced my thoughts, too, heheh.

Oh... I just had a thought. I know I sent you an ask about fictional book recs of sorts when you had first posted it, but if I can, I'd like to make an amendment to it. (As rambling as I was that time too.)
What if; The Scorn Prince, was a time travel story instead.
Oh, are you talking about The Scorn King? Because let me tell you, that is one of the wildest sequels I've ever read, and if you want to know where I stand on the fandom controversy, it's that I love it to bits.
The more I think about it, the more I love that Meryl North had the audacity to follow up The Scorn Prince this way. Because it starts as such a normal-sounding sequel--a few years after the bittersweet ending of The Scorn Prince, the Yates siblings have at last found a magical artifact that will let them travel to Jerrigan's kingdom of Ardwick. And we naturally assume this will lead to another cozy-yet-silly fish-out-of-water tale, this time with the Yates siblings learning to navigate Jerrigan's world.
Except, the artifact that lets them cross worlds also messes with time, and the very act of their arriving changes history--the ripples across time created phenomena of glowing lights that were interpreted as omen signifying that Jerrigan was meant to rule, which meant that the coup that displaced him and drove him to our world never happened, so he was able to take the throne and has been ruling for several years without undergoing the character reformation that happened when he was in our world.
And I've seen people outraged at the fact that the sequel erases the events of the first book. But the thing is, it doesn't. The fact that the Yates kids are from a different world lets North justify some timey-wimeyness where the kids remember the old timeline while finding themselves in the new timeline, facing a King Jerrigan who's a great big jerk who doesn't remember them at all. And the tension between those two timelines, as they try to reconcile who they know Jerrigan could be with who he is now is so painful and so great.
The political intrigue alone! Ruth stubbornly holding onto the idea that Jerrigan can be reformed despite no signs that it'll happen in a place and a time where he's secure in his power, while her brothers are tempted into helping a revolution to overthrow him. On the one hand, you want to side with Ruth in liking this guy we grew to love in the last book, but on the other hand, the boys kind of have a point that maybe the revolution is the only way to spark his character arc, but on the other hand, if the Yates kids betray him, they're not going to be in a position to help him undergo the character arc the way they did in the last book.
And they're stuck in a scheming royal court with its intrigues, which they have no experience navigating, and Ruth is kind of wrestling with the tiny bits of romance with Jerrigan that came from the last book, and Jerrigan himself is having to face the fact that these weird people from another world are disappointed in him and for some reason he cares and starts to undergo a character arc that might be too little too late.
It's just so complex and not at all what I'd have expected as a follow-up to The Scorn Prince, and I know that makes some people mad, but I adore it. If people want to ignore the sequel and write their terrible fluffy fanfic versions, that's fine, but I am going to treasure this story instead.
#imaginary book recs#answered asks#allisonreader#(i hope it's okay that i made time travel the inciting incident instead of a feature of the whole work)#(i try to come up with these by turning various options over in my head until i find something that excites me)#(i knew i wanted the time travel au to be a follow-up to the first book)#(and the idea of the time travel *creating* the au was too delicious to resist)

hi, this is like, a REALLY oddly specific question, but i wanted to ask. would it be seen as wrong if i were to have my character's guide dog be in some way magical?
for more context on the specific situation, my characters are in a world where basically nothing is without some level of magic to it. my character has a guide dog, but i felt like it didn't fit the theme to have just. a normal dog? because i wouldn't put a normal dog somewhere else. the dog isn't like, telepathic or able to fix her blindness, (ive made it VERY clear to myself that at no point will i do that) i was mostly thinking something like the dog having some sort of elemental component to it, which would be a pretty common power in this world.
I just wanted to make sure it fit in with the rest of the characters in its world, instead of sticking out as just kinda being shoved in with no worldbuilding around it. there wouldn't really be 'normal' animals normally, so it feels like underdeveloped worldbuilding if i don't.
I'm worried though, that this is going to be wrong in the way that it'd seem... glamorizing? that's not what i intend, but I don't want it to come off as something in that vein. if that makes sense.
i hope this is like. sensible to ask about and not wasting your time. thank you so much, and thank you in general for running this blog, i think it's a really great resource.
I think having a magical guide dog is fine. You aren’t using the magic to erase the handler’s disability, as you mentioned. As long as you are actively working on that, it seems fine to me.
As long as the animal can make a good guide, be trained from infancy, and can navigate well, it doesn’t matter if they are a magical creature.
I list some qualities a guide should have in this post if it helps.
@moth-time created an excellent addition to this post in the notes:
i reread the guide linked by OP and now I'm thinking some kind of earth elemental or otherwise particularly magically heavy/stocky dog could be neat, bc it provides more stability than a regular dog (so more like a miniature horse). it could have a rocky/armored back that is easier to lean on than slippy dog skin, for example. Much like irl certain dog breeds are favored as guide dogs bc of breed specs, a magical universe could favor "earth elemental dogs" for same reason
you could have some magical component of the dog be helpful to the guided person, though i am struggling to come up with a good one for a blind guide dog. But for example a fire elemental therapy dog that can regulate it's body to be toasty warm and offer deep pressure and temperature therapy would be neat. It doesn't negate or "fix" the disability, but it's a little different/more magical while still recognizable
BlindBeta’s thoughts:
So I love this. An earth type dog would add excellent stabilization, orientation, and be additionally good at avoiding obstacles such as uneven ground. They could be great for balance and probably deep pressure therapy as well. Maybe they are favored as guide dogs because they are dependable, while also good at selective disobedience to keep a blind person safe, such as refusing to cross the street when it is dangerous (due to quiet cars or such). I could also see water or air type dogs being good alert dogs, perhaps.
Also not sure how common this is, but on this page about seizure alert dogs from the epilepsy foundation, it says some dogs are trained to put their body between the handler and the floor to cushion falls. Air type dogs might good at this because they are probably softer and could gently cushion a falling person without them hitting the floor.
I also had an idea that wood types might be more flexible and good assistance dogs for older adults, wheelchair users, etc. Like dog breeds, they have certain qualities that make them good at assistance, such as being depended on to retrieve any number of items, pull door handles, etc.
This is fun. I would love to see ideas from anyone else.

i need to mutter into the void so i’m going to post under the cut the trials and tribs of my current clegan fic writing experience so no one including (especially) me has to make eye contact with it. it’s basically a diary entry. god bless anyone that reads it lol. love and light 🫶
goddamn writing this fic is kicking my ass. it was just meant to be an angsty gale introspective. then i started another and that was meant to be them just fucking absolute nasty style. now i fear they have combined, morphed, metamorphosed, and it’s becoming a monster. goddamn. what does one do in this situation? it would be my first time posting in this fandom and my second time posting fic at all. i’m shaking in my boots about it. there is so much wonderful fic being posted for this pairing and so many approaches and styles. i would love to get mine out and see it amongst those works. i’m just not sure how to go about constructing this fic and how to post about it. i’d like to post some bits and pieces and maybe someone will see it and tell me it’s worth it to finish it but first and foremost i’m really writing this for myself, because it’s the type of fic i love to read and also i feel like i need to be writing it so my mind is creating something. and it would feel like a waste to me and a let down for myself if i never post it. also i’m projecting very hard onto it and onto gale as a character, so it feels kind of personal in some parts? which can’t totally be avoided but because of that and because the way i write is also very personal to me it’s making something that should be fun to post about feel quite daunting. but i want to push myself so badly because it’s been years since i’ve done that, maybe i’ve never done that. and Of Course it’s wwii yaoi that’s gotten me to this point.
anyway, y’all ever think about gale identifying as a more feminine being than is expected for a man like him in the time he’s in, thus manifesting itself into years of repression he’s not entirely aware of until he meets and grows closer to bucky, and how he comes to terms with being awakened in such a way that has laid dormant until he’s in the literal u.s. military, and eventually in one of the least survivable theatres of the war, and in suffocating proximity day in and day out with one john bucky egan? and how he navigates his bond with marge, now in contrast to how he feels for john? and how even his childhood and the lives of his parents is being pushed forwards in his consciousness in relation to his sense of self and his place in the lives of others? oh and also how absolutely Biblically he wants john, in the most unconventional and all encompassing ways? all while he has no context for queerness and sexuality as it relates to himself? i dunno what freak would be into writing or reading that 👀 🚬💀
#like how the fuck am i gonna pull this? with my fic writing history? i’ve really done it now.#it’s gales pov which i Did Not see coming. i’m a bucky girl. he bewitches me. but gale… gale….#so here i am#up to my neck in the gale and marge of it all and gale’s identity and sexuality and how that fits into canon in a way that i can stay#as true as possible to the show because it really does already almost have it all#and i love gale as a character so i would hate to twist that out of shape#just for the sake of some down and dirty queer lust and feminisation kink#but i know what the fuck i want#and that is for gale to ride john into the damn ground#also my writing style appears to be built kinda different and there’s nothing i can seem to do about it so its all very… very? prose-y?#god this is too many tags. i don’t know what i’m doing.#if you’re reading this i’m sorry 🫶#how do i even tag this?? do i even want to tag this lmao#clegan#clegan fic#forgets fic#?? i guess that will do so i can find this post later and kill it with fire

Words Unsaid
Summary: A look into a moment Annabeth shared with Percy before he went missing. Set before the events in the Son of Neptune. Chronologically, a few months after the Olympian War. Fluff, and then the angst comes. Loosely based on the song 'Knocking on Heaven's Door ' by RAIGN
Author's Note: It's been more than a year since I've posted anything, mostly because I've been so swamped with schoolwork and assignments and everything that seems unfair and wrong to a student :D But, I finally found time again to write and decided to start with a Percabeth fic for a change. It's my first, and I hope you like it. Reviews would be an absolute treat, and I would very much appreciate them so much.
...
Mama take this badge from me I can't use it anymore It's getting dark, too dark to see
...
It hadn't started with love. No, it really hadn't, for Annabeth was sure that the first time she had seen Percy Jackson, she had absolutely loathed him.
She had despised him, not in the way she despised the folk of the Aphrodite cabin with their daily gimmick and mockery, not in the way she hated her stepmom for creating a rift between her and her dad, not even in the way she despised her own father for letting her leave. No, Annabeth despised Percy Jackson because even with all the odds against him, he still somehow had faith in the world. Faith that Annabeth had lost.
But that had changed. Percy Jackson had crept into her life, and cemented his place in it in a way no one had been able to do. She had learned to believe, not in the world which was set to kill her or snatch away from her, her happiness at any moment possible, but in the boy who had taught her to love, and to hope; the boy whose eyes had witnessed worse things than anybody she could think of and yet it was his green eyes that warmed up to a stranger first. It was his green eyes she sought out when they were in danger, and it was his green eyes that she had learnt to love.
Annabeth had fallen in love with Percy Jackson slowly, and then all at once.
And he had changed everything about her.
There was once a time when she didn't even see herself living beyond sixteen.
But then, here she was, four months into her sixteenth year of life, creeping to cabin three in the middle of the night, not because she had any work to do, but because she simply wanted to see her boyfriend.
Camp Half BLood seemed ethereal in the moonlight. In the distance, she could see the faint strawberry fields, dimly lit by the blinking glow of the fireflies. She had left the Athena Cabin behind her, with its stone walls and camaraderie, and could just faintly make out her way towards Cabin Three, mostly because it always seemed to have the scent of ocean water lingering around it.
Somehow, it always seemed to smell like Percy.
After years navigating around Camp Halfblood, this had become second nature.
Annabeth skipped over the creaky stone that entailed the steps toward the cabin door, bypassing the door, and instead, heading straight towards the window.
Percy always had his window open.
"Hey there, Seaweed Brain," she announced herself softly, as she pulled herself over the edge.
"What-", Percy exclaimed, startled, as he sat up on his bed, putting aside his shield. He watched as Annabeth stepped into his room, and then, almost automatically burst into a grin
"Hi there, Wise Girl."
"What are you doing?" Annabeth asked, her voice just above a whisper, lest the Harpies sense her in the wrong cabin.
"Oh, just the shield," Percy replied, offering Annabeth a hand, as he pulled her onto the bed. She gladly accepted the blanket he offered her, tucking her legs in as she settled herself beside Percy. Sometimes, Annabeth still couldn't believe they had reached the point in their relationship where she could be so comfortable around him like that. "
I know Tyson fixed it, but it seems different now."
"Is there anything broken?" Annabeth asked, instinctively looking over the shield for any changes.
"Not that you can see," Percy smiled sadly, "It just, it seems different from when he fixed it for me a few months ago."
Annabeth nodded wordlessly, as Percy shuffled closer to her, their shoulders now brushing, as they watched the waves crashing against the shore. It seemed angrier than usual, Annabeth noticed, more turbulent, more …..wild, and she exhaled as she seeked out Percy's hands, his fingers closing almost by habit over hers.
"Everything's changed," she said.
Percy squeezed her fingers, resting his head over hers. He towered over her, and yet in this position, it seemed just right. "Did Chiron tell you about the Hermes cabin?" he asked.
"Yeah," Annabeth replied, "It's nearly empty now. Apparently, Hermes did not, in fact, have so many kids."
Percy laughed, his voice resonating in the cabin, as the wind carried his voice towards the sea. "I remember, the first time in camp, there was so little space in the Hermes cabin, that I had to sleep on the cold floor, right under someone's bed. I swear, it might have been Travis's because only his socks could smell like something had died in it."
"Yeah, so like you to remember the smell of his socks." Annabeth laughed, memories of him being once shorter than her resurfacing. She closed her eyes, tilting her head back. "I remember, the first time I reached camp, Luke made me sleep on the bed, because I was too small, and people kept stepping over me." Annabeth laughed, then looked at Percy, "It was his bed, technically, because Hermes had claimed him the moment he had stepped foot in camp, but he still slept on the floor for an entire week before Athena claimed me."
Percy looked down at Annabeth, his thumb rubbing circles over the small junction between her index and middle finger, as if smoothing away the scars which had accumulated over the years of handling knives and blades.
She looked away, a sudden lump in her throat. Annabeth had accepted long ago that her Luke was gone, but perhaps under the weight of the world, she had never accepted the fact that she'd never be able to see him again.
"Everyone's gone," she said, inhaling sharply, as the waves crashed harder against the shore. Poseidon seemed clearly agitated today.
"Some of us are still here." Percy replied back, and Annabeth looked at him again, overcome with emotion, as her own muddled grey eyes gazed into his green ones, which were still warm, and still holding on.
Percy reached up, brushing away a single tear that Annabeth hadn't even realised had escaped.
"Since when does the Wise Girl have an existential crisis?" he joked weakly, and Annabeth laughed, a teary laugh as she opened her arms, Percy smiling warmly as he pulled her into him.
Annabeth breathed in deeply, absorbing the musky scent of sea-water and hot milk, a combination that she herself had never fathomed she'd adore.
"I love you." Percy said suddenly, and Annabeth's eyes snapped open, jerked out of her reverie as she pulled away slightly, her hands still around Percy.
"What, is it too early?" Percy stuttered, "I know, it just slipped out, I didn't -"
But Annabeth interrupted him, leaning forward to press her lips against his gently. Her eyes closed, she smiled as his hand raised up to cup her face, her thumb brushing against his cheek.
She rested her forehead against his, as they breathed in unison, against the noise of the waves pounding.
It hadn't started with love, but it had slowly grown into one. In a way, she had always known he would be the boy in the prophecy. He would never know, but she had kept her feelings aside, locked and kept away fearing for them if he ever happened to die. But last year, it had all changed, and her feelings, now front and centre, only revolved around one thing, to keep him alive.
Perhaps the Fates had listened to her at last. They had kept the boy in the prophecy alive, because she had begged so hard for him to not be taken away from her.
So in the blink of a moment, Annabeth thought to herself that perhaps this was meant to last. Even the Fates couldn't be so cruel to take this away from her. She was meant to love this boy and love him, she would.
Years later, she might scorn herself for being so blind and giddy in love but this was Percy and Annabeth loved him, and yet, as she opened her mouth, words very different from the ones she wanted to say came out.
"I can't lose you," she whispered instead, her hands coming up to rest against his cheek.
With bated breath she waited, hoping Percy would understand the truth between her words, and the emotion behind them.
"You won't," he said, at last, and in answer, capturing her lips in his, and pulling him towards her, even closer, as his arms interlocked around her waist. With Annabeth completely sitting on his lap, they fell back onto his bed, both of them lost to the world.
It seemed as if their kiss lasted for hours, but it was mere minutes before she heard the familiar screech of the Harpies outside the cabin.
Percy and Annabeth sprung apart, Annabeth scrambling up and above the bed, as she looked outside anxiously.
"I have to go," she whispered hurriedly, as Percy grumbled, her hand still trapped in his.
"Don't", he complained, as he pulled her towards him again. "Stay, please." He looked up towards her, his eyes wide and pleading and Annabeth laughed.
"I'll come back tomorrow. I promise, Seaweed Brain," she said, and she bent down to kiss him again.
Before he could deepen the kiss, Annabeth pushed him away, Percy falling back on his bed in mock annoyance, as she jumped out of his window, swiftly running down the path towards the Athena Cabin. She'd have a strict telling off, she knew that, but it would be worth it.
Percy loved her.
She smiled as she reached the familiar stone door, glaring at the owl above the door as it begrudgingly ushered her in.
It would be forever.
Annabeth tiptoed through the dormitory, making her way towards her room, locking her door swiftly behind her, and resting her back against the door, Percy's words in her head, and his voice.
She'd tell him tomorrow, how much she loved him. How long she had waited. She'd tell him she had loved him first.
Outside, the waves crashed relentlessly against the rocks, but Annabeth didn't mind.
…
Mama put my guns in the ground I can't shoot them anymore That cold black cloud is comin' down Feels like I'm Knockin' on Heaven's Door
...
The next day, when she woke up from a sleep that was much better than anything she had nowadays, Marcus looked at her judgingly, knowing very well what she'd been up to, but Annabeth could care less. All she wanted to do was find Percy.
Instead, that morning, Chiron issued a hurricane alert, and Annabeth was strictly ordered into her room by Marcus lest she try to sneak away again. She looked outside her window, worried.
Hurricanes were under Poseidon's domain, and a hurricane in Camp Half Blood was never a good idea.
She sat on her bed, her head resting against a pillow, as her eyes lazily floated over one of Daedulus' designs, slightly tweaked by her to make it better.
The next thing she knew, Marcus was waking her up, because Chiron was looking for her urgently.
Annabeth bounded out of the room, as she made her way out of Athena's cabin.
The skies were an abnormal grey, and even from such a distance, she could hear the sounds of thunder rolling over the sea.
The last time Chiron had called for her, Percy had disappeared with the Princess Andromeda.
"Chiron, what's wrong?" Annabeth yelled urgently, as she reached the Big House, her heart pounding in her chest, acutely noticing the lack of a certain son of Poseidon.
"It's Percy," Chiron replied, shaking his head, but Annabeth was gone, sprinting towards the Poseidon Cabin.
But there was no Percy, and no note. There was no wind in Cabin Three, and nor was there the musky blue scent she had always associated it with.
"Percy! Percy!" Annabeth yelled, knowing deep down it was no use.
She snatched a drachma from the bottom of the water fountain, throwing it into the rainbow in the corner of the cabin.
"Oh Iris, Goddess of the Rainbow, accept my offering," Annabeth cried, her voice shaking, her heart beating painfully in her chest. "Show me Percy."
But there was no Percy, and as the rainbow faded away, she yelled angrily, eyes burning against the tears that were threatening to flow.
Everything was perfect last night.
What the hell had happened?
And Annabeth, Annabeth hadn't even….she hadn't even told him she loved him back.
But there was no Percy, and there was no note.
The Fates had yet again taken him away from her.
