unpopular opinion — but i think everybody should read the manga of their favorite anime at least once

My kid asked me to explain blood types to her today, which made me remember the odd little fact that in the character profiles that appeared at the ends of the earliest Bleach volumes, there are blood types listed for the human characters, but not for the shinigami characters. Shinigami obviously have blood, we've all seen it, we've seen so much of it, honestly, but is it like blood blood? Is blood transfusion a thing they do?

I did not have any particular recollection of anyone ever receiving a blood transfusion in Bleach, but I looked up all the hospital scenes I could think of off the top of my head. Both Byakuya nor Hinamori have sort of a notable absence of things sticking out of them. I'm no expert and I don't even particular like doctor shows, but this is a situation where I would expect both of them to have IVs for hydration, if nothing else. Hinamori's got a respirator and some mysterious carts off to her far side, at least, and maybe Byakuya's just far enough on the upswing that he doesn't need it anymore.

Next shot was the famous Rukia and Renji sharing a hospital room scene.

Renji's respirator goes...under his blanket? Is this right? This doesn't seem right. Rukia doesn't seem particularly attached to anything, although there's kind of a bundle of wires? tubes? coming out of her right shoulder area. You can see them better in this shot:

That sure doesn't look like medical grade tubing, the lower one looks kinda like Hihiou Zabimaru, tbh. IVs usually work by gravity, no? Also those tubes are way too big to be going into someone's veins.

Finally, here's Kira, getting his dubious Squad 12 medical procedure.

More shady, giant, intestine-ass looking tubes that... go into him? wtf. They're attached to a computer. Maybe these are data cables?

The upshot of all of this is that I don't think shinigami have blood transfusions. I can't imagine that they don't know about them, so I imagine it's more of a case of their blood is just part of their soul, like, all of them is just soul all the way down, and it would be nearly impossible to accept a transfusion that was made of someone else's soul (soulmate-enjoying fanfic writers, take note). They do like sticking tubes in people, tho.

This sucks because when I was originally thinking about this, of course I was thinking about all the blood Renji has in his body and whether or not he's a universal donor, because, frankly, if he is, I think they would have a special framed painting of him at Squad 4 and let him have as much donuts and apple juice as he wants.

I think the main reason manga list characters' bloodtypes anyway is because Japanese people use it as a personality test, similar to horoscopes. For the record, here are the characters whose blood types we know:

Ichigo - AO Orihime - BO Chad - AO Tatsuki - AO Isshin - AB Uryuu - AB Don Kanonji (????) - BO

Looks to me like these blood types were definitely chosen to tie into personality at least to some degree (I'm not sure about Isshin, but he probably has fake Urahara Shouten-brand gigai blood-substitute anyway, so I am choosing not to read too deeply into that). Anyway, along those lines, judging from this chart, if we wanted to bootstrap Renji's blood type from his personality, I think he would, in fact, clearly fit into the idiot-on-a-skateboard quadrant. So he is a universal donor! (or at least he would be, if he were filled with blood instead of high-concentration ghost juice.)

Sorry to bother you, but you seem to be one of the more informed Bleach fans.

So the thing is, since Bleach started airing its new anime, my Twitter feed has over-filled with it (apparently liking any manga/anime equals liking Bleach...) and the waves of IH fans, who seem to enjoy it exclusively through bashing IR. I know my first mistake is having Twitter, but the author of the absolutely fantastic manga I'm into is posting extra material there, so I'm ready to bear the consequences XD

Tbh, I've never finished reading Bleach. I think I made it to Fullbringer arc, but at that point, I've finally realized that I can just stop reading something that doesn't bring me enjoyment and for a while at that.

I did ship IR back then (for obvious reasons), but I have long since moved past Bleach to better pastures, though I still love the aesthetic. (And Rukia, I probably would've finished Bleach if it was at least 30% more Rukia, no Ichigo necessary XD)

But recently, I've encountered the post that discussed how Kubo himself didn't like the old anime. I remember fandom drama being large enough that it affected him, though I know no specifics as I've always inhabited the peripheral areas of the fandom.

So my question is, is there like a big meta post, following the evolution of Kubo's relationship with his work or just some large meta posts analyzing the events of those times? I definitely don't want to dive deep back into the fandom, but I've always enjoyed reading those large meta analyses.

Again, only if that won't be too bothersome for you, you just have a lot of interesting posts yourself, so I thought you may know something like this or point me in the right direction.

Hi! To be honest, I kind of feel like a dinosaur in the fandom now... I've started reading it as a kid and joined the fandom when I was in middle school and now I'm in college with a part job but to sum it up, I've seen most of the drama of the fandom back then.

The thing is that the dudebros on Twitter who act like they know everything about B/each and what was going on in the fandom back then fail to realize the fandom was made of an overwhelming majority of IR shippers (and for good reasons) or just neutrals (who didn't really ship anything in particular) but understood IR's appeal.

But lmao, not the dudebros and these stans making up things to feed their own lies AGAIN when no, K/ubo didn’t have issues with the old anime, it was rather the “fan” who asked the question who was bitter about it from the way they asked their question. He supervied it and he even gave positive feedback, including this tweet about ep.342 (which features filler stuff made by the studio) where he said the episode was really pretty (he had also reacted to IR trending worldwide on Twitter back then while the anime episode aired).

K/ubo also said he was very involved in the anime in an interview in 2006, including the filler arcs for example with the character designs of the zanpakutos later on in the anime etc.

K/ubo also did say concerning that the H/ellverse and D/iamond D/ust R/ebellion movies aren’t canon (which makes sense, especially for H/ellverse after that recent Hell oneshot) but rather parallels to the canon story while Fade To Black IS canon (and the movie was promoted as “a movie you should go watch with your S/O" lol) so it tells you how invested he was in the old animated series. There is a whole thread on Twitter showing you K/ubo appreciated the anime, musical and live action adaptations and how IR were portrayed there if you want to check it.

Also, the “omg IR shippers are bullies and bad people!!!!” narrative which includes these accusations about IR shippers making K/ubo run off Twitter is FALSE (it happened 6-7 years ago), he deleted his account because a p*rnstar was impersonating as him there. SJ and him took legal action and that led to him deleting his account (he made a new account a while after), so it was not due to IR shippers and fandom drama as those people claim.

Apart from that, the manga’s cancellation official announcement from SJ was sudden which explains how rushed the ending was (well, at least the part where it doesn’t answer to many questions aka if U/rahara, G/rimmjow, N/el, Y/oruichi, I/sshin, R/yuuken were alive and some of the plot holes) but the fact it was that bad was K/ubo being petty and doing that out of spite because SJ cancelled the manga. I don’t know if you can say it’s a meta about his “relationship with his work” exactly but rather how his writing went downhill because he lost the plot of his own story: you can read this pretty interesting post (this blog has pretty interesting B/each analysis posts, including this one about the ending itself). B/each’s sales started to dip at one point but it got really bad at L/ost A/gent arc and and it got worse and worse after that because he spent way too long on unimportant plots and fights (the way we all way too many chapters with that fight of his favorite character against a giant hand...) while dropping important subplots/character arcs that had pontential such as K/arin becoming a s/hinigami (which was heavily hinted in the L/ost A/gent arc and which probably explains the fillers focused on her and H/itsugaya) or R/angiku having a piece of the S/OUL K/ING in her soul before A/izen stole it from her. He also got physically sick and tired of writing this story but SJ had initially given him enough time to end the story and what did he do? Waste time until SJ had had enough and made the cancellation announcement. You have a summary of that whole mess in this post.

The post-ending claims (from K/ubo himself and from those stans) about K/ubo planning the manga’s ending since the start (chapter 1) are also false.

K/ubo is great at characters design btw (though he had the same face syndrom at one point in TYBW when drawing his characters... especially when he was drawing T/oshiro in his bankai form) but as for the storytelling, he was only good if you stop at SS, after that... Well, we know how it went. It doesn't mean we didn't get good things from the following after that tho, it just means that things gradually started to go wrong until it became too much.

Enen no Shouboutai - by the same author as soul eater, it’s so glowy and fun

Magi: The labyrinth of magic - god the manga gets truly terrible but as far as the anime gets is so good

Ansatsu Kyoushitsu - so much fun

Ao no Exorcist - ignore the ending of s1, they went anime original then decided to adapt s2 and it makes little sense but overall good

Durarara!! - i don’t think this is technically shounen but it’s a load of fun

Kemono Jihen - not something i think about ever but i really enjoyed when i was watching

NARUTO - tbh i think you just need to watch this to understand. skip fillers and know the cunin exam arc is where it starts getting good. i’m sorry but you need to do this

Noragami - they’re good kids

Ookiku Furikabutte - cute baseball gays

THE GOD OF HIGH SCHOOL - not technically shounen bc it’s source is korean but it’s so fun, the webtoon is better though ofc

Madara and Obito... In SPACE

So the preface to this mess: I don’t know jackshit about Star Wars, so a lot of this went through friends who do know Star Wars (the primary of which does not have a tumblr).

(I have watched Episodes 7&8, and Rogue One. Of the first six movies, I remember watching maybe an hour total. I have not seen more than snatches of Clone Wars. Beyond that, nothing but fic.)

Anyway! Let’s go:

As y’all probably know by now, my favorite form of crossover is what I call “intrusive,” so... I'm enjoying the mental concept of "dump Madara on Coruscant and watch him go." (Prequels, probably.)

Does Madara know what's going on? No. Can he understand a word that's being said? No! Is he going to fight the first person to aim a weapon at him, and every person after that? Yes.

Is Madara fighting fit?

Nnnnnnnnnnnnnno, not really, he’s old as balls. This is "I was on cave life support but I'm getting back up to kick ass out of pure spite" Madara.

Congrats, Palpatine! Your ass is getting kicked by a geriatric malcontent who doesn't speak any language you've ever heard or feel like literally anything in the Force. You may have Sith lightning, but do you have decades of frontline experiences and over half a century of cave-dwelling bitterness?

Both of them, simultaneously, in completely different languages: Get off my lawn, whipper-snapper.

Palpatine: Behold my mastery of the Dark Side, Foolish old man! Palpatine: [shoots lightning] Madara: Oh hey, you're like the seventeenth most dangerous person who can shoot lightning I've fought. Telekinesis? Fought that. Combat precognition? Fought that, have that, and let me tell you hwat, it doesn't help if you're opponent is just that much faster than you.

Now, I’ll take a step back and acknowledge that several people advised me that Palpatine would stand a chance against Madara, likely even win, if Madara just got hacked off of his life support and is down to one eye.

But. I want a shitpost, and also to clown on Palpatine, so Madara wins easily.

Madara also deserves to be clowned on, but the entire situation is clowning on him because he’s not in his cave anymore, and he really wants to go back to his Gedou Mazou statue.

Maybe Madara and Palpatine go Old Man Fight and then Obito just pulls a Ninja Move and kills Palpatine that way. Madara was ranting and Obito just. Ninjas behind Palpatine and slits his throat like “okay, you’re obviously evil so like... bye.”

(I just love causing "Wait what" reactions in characters that are used to having total control. Like. Have you read "Unexpected Guests"? The Bleach fic? Everything that happens in Hueco Mundo and after. That energy. I want that energy.)

Madara waves his scythe around like a cane. Obito just trails after like “Gramps, no” because it’s still pre-Sanbi, so he’s Mostly Innocent (you know, on the scale of how fucked up Obito is as a person), and just wants Madara to like. Stop.

Palpatine dies but nobody's sure what to charge Madara with since he did kind of expose a Sith? And Palpatine attacked first for [handwave] reasons?

Jedi: Well sir, in lieu of charging you with assassination of the emperor, we have decided to ask you politely to return to the elderly person's retirement home from whence you came. Please leave immediately. You are frightening the senate. Madara: [incomprehensible raving] Jedi: Yes yes, very interesting. Jedi, whispering: Does anyone know his caretaker???

Obito looks increasingly put-upon as events progress. You need Obito there to... well, not translate. Nobody can translate. But to at least poke Madara into being Slightly Less Homicidal.

Anakin seems sad about his friend dying and being evil so Obito challenges him to a spar. Madara and Obito get pulled into the Jedi Temple to help train Padawans? My first thought was "they wouldn't trust someone so obviously Weird, Crazy, and Incomprehensible around the younglings" and my second thought was "well they let Yoda do it and he's all those things so I mean? YEAH."

What if they put Madara in the bacta tank and he just freshened up like a daisy because of hand-wave Hashirama cell reasons (Blame Sir Tiddyface).

From “Decrepit and Reliant on Cave Tube Life Support” to “Will Call Down Meteors With Ease”

How many eyes does he have? Whatever’s funniest. Let’s say one Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan and one Rinnegan, for maximum chaos.

Would "half my body is missing" Obito freak out if Bacta regrew his eye? Can bacta regrow something like that? When characters lose limbs they usually just get cybernetic replacements, but  the person I spoke with said that apparently they saw somewhere that that kind of thing can grow back it just takes a really long time.

I want to imagine bacta would help Obito with the Zetsu integration.

Anyway! Yes. Have Madara help train people despite being... Madara about it. You know... kind of a dick.

(I’d put example gifs but I don’t feel up to it. Y’all know what Madara’s “weakness disgusts me” ass is like.)

Obito had to get his "these fools could never make me sweat" sass from somewhere, after all.

Do you think Obito could fight the baby Jedi that are around his age while recovering? I have no idea what their skill level is at fourteen, but I want to imagine Obito sparring the Padawans.

Obito + Zetsu + Bacta = he still needs physical therapy but he can spar again!

Madara is delighted to have a baby ninja to bully. He's too old to not bully baby ninjas, and Obito is the only baby ninja. TBH Madara just makes Obito his assistant teacher.

Obito: What are we even doing here and how do we get home? Madara: I'm still working on that. Obito: But I want to go home and see Rin and Kakashi! Madara, who was like two days away from triggering the Sanbi plan: I'm working on it.

Something sticking in my mind rn is Ahsoka&Obito, since Obito is still Baby.

I think Obito would be excited to have someone his age that thought he was Cool and Talented for being able to do Chakra Things instead of writing him off as "the dead-last." Like, Rin is friends with him, but she doesn't look up to him as someone more/differently talented.  He'd be excited to get to be "The Mysterious Cool Big Bro" for once.

I feel I also just like the idea of Anakin not knowing what to do with someone Several Years Younger that is also. Ninja Skill.

Miscellaneous thoughts:

Madara is a grouchy old man even AFTER he gets effectively de-aged via bacta dunk, for the record. He's back in his prime and the Jedi have no idea how. They're all concerned about tiddyface*. (When are people not concerned about Sir Tiddyface, really.)��The mokuton is a problem.

*Sir Tiddyface is that random Hashirama face that Madara had growing out of his pecs for like... convoluted bullshit reasons.

(Madara doesn't have mokuton, but he has enough Hashirama cells that it interacted very, VERY weirdly with the bacta.)

Obito spends the intervening weeks trying to learn the local language. He's very eager. Not particularly fast. Still doing it though!

I want Obito juggling kunai as physical therapy while he's waiting for Mads to get out of the bacta tank and just gains himself the adoration of a gaggle of small baby Jedi children.

Madara comes out of the bacta tank looking like he did in his prime (which I mentioned earlier but whatever), and it absolutely incites a yelling match of an argument that draws way too much attention.

Someone tries to teach Obito how to access the Force, just to see what happens. He almost turns into a statue because the philosophy behind Force meditation is only a few steps away from Sage Mode Meditation.

Anyway, Madara smacks him with a stick like Fukasaku to make sure Obito doesn't turn into stone.

Madara grumps about the lack of paper and brushes and ink. Bitches about it until someone hits up an antique store or something to get them for him. The day before he and Obito are dispatched on a mission with someone, probably Anakin for plot reasons, Madara very publicly seals things into a scroll and then tells them that no, they can't learn it, because the Force isn't chakra so fuuinjutsu won't work for them, so There.

Obito practices some Teen Rebellion (tm) and like, tries to teach the Padawan friends he's made how to do Chakra Things... but he's so bad at explaining things that nobody can get it to work even if it were possible.

In Obito's defense, language barriers. Not in Obito's defense, he's just really bad at words sometimes.

About bleach I hear it from someone that this anime has a long fight, taking long to defend the enemy which it bored me tbh so I pretty much prefer something faster, I’m not sure how many episodes does Bleach has but if it’s like black clover, having so much episodes (more than 100) and a long fight with a enemy then no, it’s like me saying “nope I’m out, I give up.” So yeah that’s what I honestly am.

Well actually I’m really insecure but I still enjoy reading you said there and it for sure made me blushes. I don’t exactly have a strong personality since that’s also the difference between Eren and I, especially when he risks his life and I don’t, it’s like me want to stay out of Trouble so that’s our difference and people see me as shy which I hate it so it’s me acting cold and intimidating since I don’t want to get hurt and be seem like an easy target, not sure what would Floch think of that, also your writing about Floch did actually made me blushes but alright I get your point there lol.

There is nothing to be ashamed or insecure about honey 🥺 you are beautiful soul 🥰 I got your point sometimes in order to protect ourselves we are acting cold it doesn’t me we are shy or even mean it’s a just shield to protect us. It’s fine, I don’t really thing it would bother floch especially since I believe he is acting the way he does during S4 to protect himself from the trauma he has been through (you know to cope with the pain).

At first he might believe you were a little bit shy but then he realized by the way you are acting that everything it’s your way to protect your heart. And as someone who does it as well in order to protect his mind from his own demon, he will probably understand you more than anyone. He won’t be the one standing up in front of the rising sun giving you the main character speech like « don’t worry I got you, you’ll be fine » mostly because he didn’t believe it himself so telling you shit would be a shame for him. His action might give the hint that he is here with you, that he is protecting you and that no one would ever hurt you.

He isn’t the talkative one he believes that action speaks more than a long speech. 🥰💛

So I just finished the Bleach manga and decided to make this little ‘review’.

If you are a anime only don’t read because there are major spoilers.

Ok lets start!

I’m pretty sure you know this, and many have already said it but I’m going to say it once more neither less.

Bleach should’ve ended at volume 48 with Aizen defeated and Ichigo losing his powers.

OK let’s start!

I read the manga after watching the anime after seeing the news about Bleach coming back to animate the last arc; since I thought that it was the perfect occasion to make myself watch it.

I loved the anime; that’s why I decided to read the manga since I couldn’t wait for the anime in 2021.

Was it worth reading it now and not waiting for the anime in 2021?

Yes and no.

To be honest, it was disappointing.

I expected much more.

The ending wasn’t very satisfying.

The arc was good and interesting until Yhwach entered Reiokyu; from that chapter, the story started going downhill.

The Quincys were annoying with them coming back to life mutiple times stronger after the Soul Reapers gave them a fatal blow that should have killed them. The fights were good. But the ‘pattern’ was the same for all of them that I wasn’t enjoying them anymore after some time:

1) the Soul Repear uses Bankai agter seeing that he’s attacks are barely dealing any damage to the Quincy

2) the Soul Repear kills the Quincy after some trouble

3) the Quincy comes back to life thank to the Vollständig form

4) the Soul Repear is now severly injured and will lose

5) another Soul Repear comes and help him defeat the Quincy

At that’s pretty much how every single fight went

Let’s say that Unohana’s death justified, she died so that Kenpachi could get stronger.

Although I think that she should not have died like that, she died just for the sake of the plot; I legit cried

What’s up with Urahara’s death? His death was not necessary, tbh it was bullshit, didn’t make any sense but alas.

Also we never found out was his and Grimmjow’s deal.

What happened to Yoruichi?

Kyoraku’s fight.

Decent; until Nanao came.

What the fuck was that.

The girls in general: wasted potential.

They were constantly needed to be saved throughout the whole series, and looked weak when they were in fact strong enough to put up a decent fight. They boys always had something up their sleeves to win while the girls were defeated instantly.

As much as I loved 👀 Toshiro’s adult form, I gotta say: It made no sense.

Where the fuck was it during the Arrancars fight? Why do you always worry about the pedals when you become stronger when they disappear?

How was Reio Yhwach’s father?

Who is Reio now?

I was so exited to see Aizen again.

Ngl: Ichigo breaking his Bankai not only onc but twice before he could even use it made me laugh.

Kibo didn’t know how to make Ichigo even more OP so he just gave up and broke his sword lmaooo

The arc: wasn’t that bad when you think about it,

but it definitely wasn’t up to “Bleach”.

Uhhhhhhhhh depends on your definition of “in”. If by “in” you mean “have consumed the canon content enough to know what’s up” then I am in a lot less fandoms than you’d think. If you mean “have absorbed enough of the canon and fanon via osmosis to kinda get the gist and enjoy the fanfic while ignoring the actual source material” then I’m in … enough fandoms I literally can’t remember them all off the top of my head but here’s a list of what I can think of rn:

Transformers (Animated, Prime-verse, Bay-verse, SORTA G1 but only for like- two fanfics and a couple one-shots)

Final Fantasy XV (obviously)

Final Fantasy 7 (this is one of those osmosis ones, the only canon content I have actually owned is the Advent Children movie. Have watched Crisis Core walkthroughs tho)

How to Train Your Dragon (movies only)

My Hero Academia (manga, anime, and vigilantes but I’m not up to date so no spoilers pls)

Katekyo Hitman Reborn (osmosis that led to watching some of the show. The fanfics are better. Hands down. Still glad the show exists tho, otherwise the fanfic would not.)

Harry Potter (solely via crossovers, I don’t tend to enjoy straight HP fanfic, but yeeting Harry into fandoms I do know is funny)

Naruto (I have watched exactly three eps of the original and up to the Diedara mocking Naruto with Gaara’s body in Shippuuden. Everything else is pure fandom Osmosis.)

Boruto (counting this as a separate thing because Naruto fans tend to be mean over the show (????). Which is a shame cause I adore it. Ninja school/youth slice of life with end of the world drama thrown in for flavor? Heck yeah. Also Mitsuki is My Bby Boi™ and I will hear no dissent)

Akatsuki No Yona (anime, slowly collecting the manga, it is The Best™)

One Piece (pure fandom osmosis. Have watched maybe the earliest eps before I got a headache from the animation/voice acting, after that I quit and live in fanfic only)

Undertale (have never played the game, no desire to, have absorbed plot through wiki entries and fanfic osmosis. Mostly I just adore the concept of a character who knows about save points and uses them for good or evil, as well as the whole “different runs” thing and the potential Angst and Hurt/Comfort having a Frisk with multiple runs under their belt could bring. Also Papyrus and Sans are the cutest things and I love them even though I hate skeleton characters as a general rule).

Sword Art Online (this is the anime that got me into fantasy anime. Period. My Fairy Tail fanfic would not exist without this anime making me interested in non-Case Closed and Detective School Q anime. SAO Progressive Light Novels are *chef’s kiss*.)

Log Horizon (anime is fun. I like the more political/economic take that makes it so different from SAO. Also the potential Shenanigans between Adventurers and Landers and the Lander POV potential is cool).

Star Wars (I have watched all the movies at least once barring Rise of Skywalker so no spoilers, am working through older Clone Wars seasons and gleefully have enjoyed Rebels and several of the games. I do NOT write for this fandom as a general rule because I have no desire to get involved in the flame wars, especially since the original trilogy was not my entry point? So I actually really enjoy a lot of the characters and shows outside the original trilogy and apparently my ability to like content that isn’t *raises imaginary holy grail* “the OG trilogy” is a crime against Star Wars and nature and possibly humanity. Let me enjoy my blind jedi and his crew of misfit pseudo-kids you puritans. Also Rey.)

Fairy Tail (anime, have yet to watch the last season, love this show with all my heart).

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (have yet to watch more than a few eps on the show, for all its on my reading list, so most of what I know is fanfic osmosis).

Fruits Basket (I … actually have not read fanfic of this? But I adore the books with all my heart and am so stoked to see the remade anime).

Case Closed/Magic Kaito (anime and fanfic. Treating these as the same since they’re in the same universe and spot of timeline, just have different MCs and premises).

Detective School Q (My first anime! Thank you youtube for the collection of pirated anime eps I got to binge before they all got deleted. As far as I am aware, there is no fandom still living for this show, which is a shame because it was good).

Rurouni Kenshin (the original anime! Never got past the arc with the burned villain but I still enjoyed it up to that point. No idea what the arcs after it are like. Don’t really care.)

Hobbit/LOTR (read the Hobbit, have watched all the movies. AU fanfics ftw.)

Bleach (this … is pure fanfic osmosis. I blame @wolfsrainrules @north-peach and @akaluan they got me curious. Still a little iffy on the show itself but like- I enjoy the fanfic. I’m a sucker Akaluan’s Dragon Eclipse fanfic especially.)

Princess Tutu (haven’t been in the fandom in forever? But I have a few fav fics and the show is *chef’s kiss*).

Voltron: Legendary Defender (started with the fanfics out of accident and curiosity, then hopped over to the show because the crossover potential it had with TF got me interested. Am currently in the second season so pls no spoilers).

Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes (show, fanfic, I enjoy crossovers. Someone did the world’s most epic TF:P crossover with this show and I have loved it ever since.)

MCU (osmosis that led to watching the movies. I think I liked all of the ones I watched barring Guardians of the Galaxy and Antman. Tellingly, I have made a point not to watch Endgame, Infinity War, GoG 2 or Antman 2. I can tell that the first two are just- no. I haven’t seen a fandom go up in fire that fast in years I have no desire to experience WHY.)

Edit: AVATAR. Why did I forget Avatar: The Last Airbender? hgdhgf. Anyway I like both A:TLA and Korra.

SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.  —  There’s an entire world waiting beyond Hinamori’s pretty face? She’s still pretty much just a baby when in comparison to many other Lieutenants (being the second youngest, right after lil Yachiru), which makes her super innocent and funny. She’s also very upbeat, easy-going, and friendly! She’s such a devoted Lieutenant and honestly a great worker? Super strong with her kido spells, too! A great student?! A very, very good girl, honestly! She’s the greatest person you will ever meet, I swear to GOD !!

Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).  —  Most of the people, from what I can perceive from reading different opinions and have read through my years in Bleach forums and such, is that she’s pretty mentally weak. Hinamori seems to be extremely unbalanced and the previously mentioned devotion actually becomes... a weakness? Although I don’t agree with it ( mostly because I do believe her devotion towards Aizen was induced and not... something natural ), I can understand what people mean by this. Also, she mostly uses magic spells and keeps herself at a certain distance when in combat;; which people might easily perceive as her being weak when it’s just... her fighting style and body stature.

What inspired you to rp your muse?  —  I have roleplayed Hinamori for over 6 years now? almost 7, actually. I made this blog in 2014, however, I was supposed to be writing Hitsugaya. I ended up changing my entire blog’s aesthetics, not even a week later, to match Hinamori and decided to try her out. Why? Well... long story short... the fandom was full of Hitsugaya blogs. asjhdfasjdhfg I didn’t want simply be just one more in the ocean of amazing Hitsugaya writers;; so I decided to write someone who gave me access to heavy development ( because there was so little content back then ) and fun times ! lil peach was the obvious answer!

What keeps your inspiration going?  —  Most of the time its music? Whenever I decide to focus on an rp blog, I create a go-to playlist that helps me channel the muse’s traits and helps me write with more ease! That... and re-reading manga pages that might make me come up with headcanons, which I, later, always tend to apply to threads. Oh yeah, uh... LMAO! How could I forget? Talking to friends and discussing things with them, also often lets my creativity soar and helps me channel my muse’s persona. uwu

I absolutely love discussing headcanons and getting different points of view from things ( such as headcanons, in this specific topic ) so I can center myself and find a clearer way to analyze things! If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?  —  This is going to be a pretty short response cause ;; I don’t care? I’m not here to really... please others. If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?  —  I haven’t ever seen many people hate Hinamori’s character? However, I do have seen quite the few people disregard her as the important character she is, or reduce her to a level that doesn’t... entirely fit the reason why she was created. Still, it’s none of my business. I don’t let it get to me or feel... the need to do anything about it? Or even talk about it? I can’t really change people’s views, so I often would just rather love my baby peach and let others do as they please.

Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?  —  ABSOLUTELY? It’s even part of my rules like ;; please tell me if you ever find a grammatical error ANYWHERE in my blog. English isn’t my mother tongue and thus it can be very difficult for me to keep up with fancy writing while also sticking to correct grammar? idk if this makes sense but... yknow.

Do you think you are easy going as a mun?   —  I do think I am very easy going kind of fella? How strictly do you follow canon?  — I try to follow canon almost to the point, particularly for characterization purposes. unfortunately, trying to take canon development away from shirosaki / hollow ichigo is detrimental to him. without his connection to being the inner hollow of ichigo, most of his personality is taken along with it, leaving him with almost nothing in terms of character ( i won’t go into detail here ). 

i fully stand by my statement that without all the canon events, he is not shirosaki & would become a different person/muse entirely.

Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.  — honestly ??? he’s literally the only instance of a highly intelligent & humanoid hollow that is NOT an arrancar. most of them are "forced” evolutions & they took in shinigami powers with its power, which put them down an evolution line different from the hollow one. they have most likely gained traits that shiro DOES NOT HAVE. he is not an evolution. his soul is entirely hollow, a derivative of white & nothing else. he is a base hollow that was made and became a zanpakuto spirit through unforeseen methods. he’s new. he’s unknown. he is entirely different from an arrancar & almost can’t be compared to one. 

 every single part of his being is a contradiction. he’s a hollow & and a zanpakuto. he’s destructive & protective of ichigo’s soul, even if they are for selfish reasons. there is a not a shadow of a doubt that he’s the only person of his kind, so any character in the entire series ( aside from ichigo ) will be faced with something new. will be faced with an unknown. his entiRE EXISTENCE IS INTERESTING and terrifying at the same time. 

not to mention, have you seen how he fights ??? 

Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).  — for one, he’s untrustworthy, he’s suspicious, he’s a maniac that will attack at first attack. i would say it is pretty common to avoid him. & he would avoid everyone too cause that’s how he is. not to mention the fact he is trapped inside ichigo & has little to no screentime. 

tbh i don’t blame people who skip from entirely & just make him off as some sort of plot armor. without digging into it, it’s pretty hard to catch a substantive personality. in the long run, he didn’t do much for canon. 

What inspired you to rp your muse?  —  LOOOL see. he was my favorite character and that’s really it. he was just a cool character at the time, but he’s been really fun since he feels so different from writing other characters. 

What keeps your inspiration going?  —   kari. i don’t even need to say more.  writing with other people has been a blast & i truly love everyone here, but without her i probably wouldn’t still be on tumblr right now. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Do you like questions, which help you explore your character?  — absolutely <3 questions are very important because they make you think about things that you may not have thought about before. exploring things about shiro is one of my favorite things to do because of just how he is. 

If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?  — yes, i would want to know why. when it comes to arguments or disagreements, i am very adamant about how they should go. arguments must include insights on both sides in a mature manner, so you can learn from both perspectives. who knows, you might see something you like & decide to combine it into something entirely new. 

If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?  — just fine. with shirosaki especially, i don’t think one person has the same idea about him as another LOL in fact, i’m pretty confident many views between me & friends go against each other. there are so many ways to interpret him due to a lack of canon material, it’s just bound to happen.

If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?  — i’d think you’re a little crazy tbh. that or you missed everything that made him interesting. i may get not seeing much in him & ignoring him but omg i don’t really get how you could hate him ??? tybw solidified that idea even more, but eh. if you hate him, you hate him. don’t bring that hate over to me :P

I am a ambivert. I can be outgoing when a want but its usually around people i'm comfortable around or familiar surroundings. but I can also be quite withdrawn and shy especially around someone I like. I have social anxiety which makes me a lot more quiet around new people or in situations which involve public speaking (I even start shaking because my anxiety levels spike so high). I love music and am always singing. I can't dance but I really love dancing and at one point wanted to be a dancer but I never really got a chance to take any lessons or anything so...yeah. I'm a creative person so I enjoy art such as drawing and painting when I feel motivated to. I love love love reading my favourite book is probably The hobbit by Tolkien. tbh i'm interested in anything that tickles my fancy. I'm a huge nerd! Anime, memes, vines, manga, video games I love it all. I am quite outdoorsy I love working out, running, martial arts, football, etc. I grew up going football club and taking karate and MMA so I've always been pretty active. also lowkey i'm a huge tree-hugger (literally and mentally) I once bumped into a tree and hugged it and said sorry....I studied Geography in High school and sixth form so i'm very passionate about the environment, animals, etc. P.S. I LOOOVE ANIMALS mainly cats overall I am a huge sucker for animals. I'm also a older sibling so i'm quite protective of the ones I love and literally would do anything for them or to protect them. I have insomnia so i'm a night owl but I've always been like that I usually only sleep for about 4-5 hours and i'm good to go. I love having deep conversations late at night with my sister, thinking about trippy things like what the meaning of life is and if aliens exist or if planet of the apes actually happened and what would we do? I also really enjoy movies; mainly horror movies even though they scare the shit out of me, I still watch them. Also i'm all about girls supporting girls. Girl power all the way. I also south Asian so desi culture is also very important and very prominent in the way I behave. I usually speak a mixture of Urdu and English in my sentences as opposed to just speaking one language at a time. I really love languages so i'm also learning Korean and i'm studying latin at Uni. i think that's all.....i'm pretty sure i left something out but it feels like I've been typing for years so i'm going to stop now...soz if this is a lot. also i wrote this as fast as i can so i apologise for the spelling and grammar mistakes

That is so interesting that you are studying that in Uni. History has always been my favorite subject, quiet a nerd when it comes to almost got a perfect score on my state test when I was in school (fyi I hated school but I liked learning). Not many people study that in Uni/College.

So you're cool person & I hope I don't mind me ranting. I'm not a shipper, I love bleach w all my heart, I didn't care who ends up with who, but it was obvious & I like IH&RR. But this is not what I wanna talk about, I was looking at some Byakuya edits & suddenly realized that there aren't enough Byakuya material here, & I just realized that I loved him wholeheartedly, it makes me depressed that there aren't enough fans for him, I see lots of Ulquiorra fans, but majority of them of are shippers

2/4 So now I'm even more depressed cuz I realize that despite Bleach beings Shonen, the vocal minority are very loud about ships, & that's all they care about, I can't find normal bleach content unless it's ship related or bashing Kubo/series. Don't get me wrong, I'm not telling u ur doing smth wrong, I like the RR,IH,HH fandoms because u don't hate on Kubo like other parts of the fandom & I feel like I can get this off of my chest for you, cuz I won't be hit with a "bleach is about x&y ur stupid"..

3/4 I like hanging out on RR/IH. But I'm getting tired of seeing just ships, I can no longer go to the bleach tag w/o ppl hating/spreading hate/attacking ppl who liked the ending &consider the novels canon (like me). You can imagine how much I want the anime back so the nonshipper can crawl out & have smth to talk about w/o shippers calling anything OOC & whatever. I can totally understand you and whether you believe it or not, I totally agree with you. 

Well, I am a shipper and at some point I made the main focus of my blog ship-related content just because I enjoy it and I like to talk about RenRuki and like the stuff others are producing for it. 

But I totally agree that the shipping fandom is very vocal, especially in a series like Bleach- I don’t consider the romance aspects in Bleach as very important tbh. I enjoy my niche with RenRuki but I am aware that it is a super small aspect of the series and frankly, I think it is a very minor subject as a whole. 

This is one reason why I don’t like to get involved with fanwars about the ships, because I am not sure what it’s so important to fight about the romantic couples. I can totally understand why people would discuss theories about the story itself, but couples are more about personal tastes. Of course, also I like stuff that shows Renji and Rukia together, and I like to interpret details with them but I know in the end that is not the core of Bleach but more a small hobby part. Even though my blog is mainly about my favourite ship, I am also a huge part of the series itself.  

I too think that the shipping stuff in Bleach is way too overrated as a whole. I enjoyed Bleach as what it was- a shounen series, that had much of symbolism, fights and character development and much more. That was completely unrelated to which ship I liked. If RenRuki wouldn’t be canon I still would love that series with all my heart, that is why I can’t relate to people that burn their mangas or are so bitter that they attack fellow fans or Kubo himself over pairings. (tbh while Bleach was still running I believed that there would be an open ending, even though I would have thought that IH and RR would be heavily implied by the end). 

I am not sure if that is site-related. On tumblr, the majority of content is pairings and shipping stuff, which is always and in every fandom connected with wank. I like the Bleach forum on reddit for that reason because on that site people are more discussing story elements and theories and only from time to time the shipping stuff comes up. I feel that the majority of people over there also do not like fandom wank and Kubo-bashing so it is a nice place to hang out for Bleach general content. 

I also dearly wish that the anime will come back and animate the last arc, and actually NOT because of the RR content, but because this arc was awesome right?? A year ago I made a re-read of the whole last arc and it was so exciting I couldn’t stop reading. I want to see the fights animated, I want to see Renji’s new bankai animated, I want to see Adult Toushirou, the sternritter and so much more stuff. 

Bleach is an exciting manga, and so much more than the pairings. And I totally understand that non-shippers get frustrated when it is all about shipping content and not about other elements too.

Sjejssk I'm kinda bad for recs, but let's see, according to what you said to me i'd say Sakamoto Days, ousama ranking, one piece, assuming you haven't read/watched any of those yet! So, Sakamoto days (I believe they'll announce an anime for it one day) is about a former killer who has decided to found a family and consequently he gave up on his past as an assassin (more because his wife told him to). However today he's victim of conspiracy and some people want him dead for what he used to be and the symbol he represents. It's about strong family bonds, regardless the blood (to me all the mains are a big family dhdjsj). It's also very fun to read, and only 95 chapters to go to catch up djsjsks

Ousama ranking is one of the cutest anime i've ever watched. Basically it's about how a little prince, named Bojji, born deaf and considered weak and not suitable to become the next king by his people, will become stronger and even stronger.

And One Piece... i can talk hours and hours about that one! It's my favourite! (That rec is definitely not objective) The story blew my mind several times. You probably already heard about it, and it has a lots of episodes/chapters too, but as you rewatched bleach, watched detective conan, i feel like you will not be afraid by 1000+ chapters/episodes djsjsks

hi santa!! sorry it took a while! i can only hope every weekend is as chill as that one was. sometimes though i have minimal weekend work duties as well. oohhh, it's nice to hear that! i often think having different offs than usual is nice in a sense that when you need to go out and theres not much people outside (dont mind me just complaining against the amount of people there are in the mall when im off and i just wanna chill out lol)

Hello~ I am back

I believe it has been approximately three years since I posted anything. I was really tired of the shipping wars and wanted to step back from anime/manga for awhile. I did finish Bleach and Fairy Tail when they both ended. I am currently keeping up with One Piece and Attack on Titan. EDIT: My url was previously k-a-i-z-o-k-u. I changed my url because of my current obsession with ML. Hehe. :) About Naruto: Nothing has really changed my mind about my main ship: NaruSaku. I tried seeing the other side of things, but I still just couldn’t completely wrap my mind around NaruHina and SasuSaku. And you know what? It’s ok! Because people have different perspectives of the story. (Although I totally do not accept NH/SS at all.) What everyone can’t deny is that Naruto and Sakura developed a beautiful friendship and bond. Some of us see that there could have been more, others don’t think it’ll work out. I felt like Naruto and Sakura’s relationship was healthy and they grew together throughout the series. I vowed to never watch The Last or Boruto. To me, what’s the point of continuing something you’re no longer interested in? The best thing is to do what is emotionally healthy for you and just step away from the madness. (And to continue shipping what you love without clashing with others.) I just wish that there was a little more development for NH and overall character development for Hinata. I admit, there was a TINY bit...but not enough to convince me. About Bleach: At first, I was upset about the ending because I shipped IchiRuki. I actually looked back at some explanations of IchiHime and it finally clicked. I did see their relationship progressing throughout the series but I was so biased towards IR that I disregarded all of it. Yes, IR has this sun and moon symbolism but it just wasn’t enough to make it convincing. Yes, Ichigo did want to save Rukia when she was in danger but Orihime was the one who helped him with his decision in whether he wanted to save Rukia or not. IH vowed to protect each other and Ichigo gets more riled up when Orihime is in danger (TLDR version of what I read). Ichigo and Orihime did show mutual affection for each other. Orihime was blatantly obvious but she never forced anything. If anything, she was very supportive and cared for all of her friends. Ichigo’s affection was more subtle. So yes, I have switched from being an IR fan to a IH fan. I still love Ichigo and Rukia’s friendship from start to finish though. (Orihime’s positive attitude is so great and cute tbh. Even though she’s not physically strong, I believe she is emotionally strong and that’s why she is actually really like-able.) It’s the interactions between Ichigo and Orihime that won me over. In the end, it actually did make sense to me. (I apologize to the IR blogs that still follow me. Feel free to unfollow if you don’t want to see IH content.) About Fairy Tail: It was always fanservice-y from the beginning to the end. LOL. So Mashima made the pairings super obvious. Even though it was over the top, the story was overall enjoyable. Gruvia remains as my favorite pairing though because of their gradual development. (Also water and ice duhhhhh.) About One Piece: One Piece was/has never really been about shipping. So I dropped all of my OTPs from there. I don’t really care about the romance anymore, there isn’t much to work with imo. I just want to see Luffy be King of the Pirates and beat everyone up. Although shippers can ship away. :D

About Attack on Titan: Things are so complicated in the manga right now that idc about the shipping. (Although I still like EreMika.) I’m more interested in the plot development. IT’S SO GOOOOOOOOD. UGHHHHHHHH. I’m always on the edge of my seat when I read each chapter. What bums me out is that a chapter is released once a month. T___T I want more. Anyway, the reason I came back was because I still wanted an outlet for “weebing out.” I still enjoy anime/manga and I should probably catch up on some new stuff like My Hero Academia and other good shizzz that I haven’t watched yet. I’m trying to refrain from shipping because I feel like sometimes it takes the joy out of enjoying a series. However, I think I subconsciously ship characters because I’m so used to doing that. xD Oh well.
