been browsing the reddit and there is an interesting point they bring up that i think a lot of people are afraid of pointing out for fear of coming off as victim blaming. and its the fact that people are very quick to dismiss accountability on caitis side, with most people pinning it all on her friends. and im guilty of this too but theyre not wrong in that caiti deliberately chose to word her first stream like that, she chose to leave information out/lie, and she chose to share that screenshot even though it was fake and said nothing to clear it up. even if her friends have influenced her, she still chose to go through with it. her friends did not hold her at gunpoint and force her to do those things. and i guess its because i was thinking about the framing of "freshly 18" and the way that people are accusing george of sexually assaulting a "young girl". like we pushed back on those things because 18 is an adult, she's not a child and infantilizing her is weird in an attempt to smear george. but i think by pinning all the blame on her friends, we kinda circle back around to making it seem like shes just a helpless little girl who cant make decisions on her own. and i 100% understand that her pain couldve caused these things, maybe she really didnt remember things well, maybe she was afraid if it didnt sound bad enough no one would take her seriously, i dont know. and i empathize with that but also she needlessly demonized a man to a wild extend and i do think she needs to take responsibility for not portraying things faithfully at some point. being hurt doesnt excuse you from hurting others. saying that caiti made mistakes too can coexist with her being hurt by what george did that night.

really well-worded anon and i think this last bit really sums up everything. Caiti was not a silent, non-moving piece of this situation. She was the one who consciously made the choice to stream, use that specific extreme language, initially withhold proof, not verify screenshot sources, not talk to george privately first, etc. and while she can be hurt by what happened and possibly have made poor choices in response to what happened, it does not absolve her of any responsibility for this chaotic fallout.

springtrap is, evidently, a living corpse. william afton, as shown in fnaf 3’s night 5(?) minigame, was forced by his fear to hide in one of his animateonic suits; these ones are the “springlock” suits that can be used as animatronics or suits, he wore the springbonnie one. the suits are extremely finicky when theyre in suit mode; they have springlocks that keep the parts out of the way ti wear the suit, and if they come lose, it can force the suit back into animatronic mode, pushing all the gears and such back into place. which you can imagine wouldn’t be good.

“the only parts of you that would likely see the light of day again would be your eyeballs and teeth, that’d pop out the front of the mask” -phone guy in fnaf 1, about the normal suits

anyway, night 5 of fnaf 3, theres a cutscene in which you play as one of the five souls afton killed. you find him in the safe room (a room off-the-map for animatronics with no cameras inside), and find william who seems TERRIFIED of them. eventually william, as what i only assume is a method to hide, hops into the springbonnie suit while its in suit mode and effectively prevents the souls from getting him. he starts laughing, because of course he does the psycho, and then his laughter plus the dampness of the room end up pushing the springlocks to snap back into place, effectively killing afton within the suit.

but afton’s whole thing is “i ALWAYS come back!” (see fnaf 6, the fucker keeps coming back). he didnt DIE from the suit; he rotted there for 30 years, sure, but hes not DEAD. i think, probably, (and fnaf fans can correct me on this i havent seen the lore videos in quite some time), his soul fused with the springbonnie suit, effectively forcing him to stay alive as a weird amalgamation of a rotting corpse and soulless animatronic. theoretically, springbonnie was its own animatronic before afton wore the suit and died, but now since hes been there, his soul is evidently trapped, as all the souls of his victims are. you could say afton is different from springtrap from his ability now to do what he pleases, rather than keeping up a front of a salesman you can trust. he doesnt have to do that anymore; his life is already ruined, hes dead, his family is dead, and he cant take back what he did (not like i think he would, the fucker is evil). all he can really do now, is embrace being springtrap, instead of being william afton. william afton is dead; springtrap is the last remaining of his corrupted, wicked soul.

tl;dr springtrap is a dead guy in a suit continuously rotting but i love him so i talked too much about him.

That post about tme/tma was pretty funny to read as I have as a trans man experienced trans misogyny multiple times. I have a man’s name and dress in men’s clothes and multiple times people have thought I am a trans woman who I guess is mid social transition or smth? Idk man its weird. I think its valuable to talk about different experiences with transphobia within the trans/lgbt community and outside of it but i guess its easy to forget how varied the trans experience can be. Also why is there no term for the transphobia fuelled misogyny trans men face? As a trans man i feel like i can’t escape misogyny even from people who accent me as a man. Misogyny is also often the first punishment and slap in the face against me by transphobes. They rarely say anything about me being trans but just talking sexist shit?

see, thats another thing about transmisogyny that i think a lot of people forget. its not separate from misogyny and transphobia, it is the intersection of those two. so, if someone is both transphobic and misogynist, anybody who they think looks trans and they think looks like a woman is a potential target.

this actually includes, like, a lot of trans men, because 99% of these bigots dont actually care to learn a single thing about trans people. they often literally do not know enough about trans-ness to tell the difference between a trans man and a trans woman. they see someone who looks like theyre doing gender wrong, and they floor it, and anyone who doesnt conform enough can be caught in the crossfire.

additionally, trans men dont get to opt out of misogyny when they start transitioning. many trans men struggle to pass as men, because gender is a tricky thing. and if you dont pass as a man, or if you dont have your legal name changed, or if you dont have your gender marker changed, then anybody could still decide that youre a woman and treat you accordingly. trans men experience misogyny just as much as trans women do, and because they are also trans, they often fall victim to the same structures that cause transmisogyny.

trans men have actually tried a few times to coin words to describe these unique intersectional experiences, similar to the reason transmisogyny was coined, but everytime they have faced pushback from the community, and especially from trans women. transmisandry and transandrophobia are both words that trans men have tried to coin to describe their experiences, and theyve been so thoroughly ridiculed for it that ive seen trans women go around calling people "transandrophobia truthers." these words that trans men have tried to define for themselves have become jokes in the mouths of those who should be their allies.

this is another reason why i am so against tme/tma as labels. if we exclude trans men from being able to be victims of transmisogyny, but we also deny them the words they need to talk about their own unique intersectional experiences of oppression, then we are essentially saying we dont care about those experiences. we are silencing them the same way we have been silenced for years.

thats why im so gungho about trans unity. yes, our experiences are different, but the structures and the people oppressing us are the same. we are not enemies, and if we paint each other as enemies, if we try to silence each other, if we continue to squabble amongst ourselves and focus on what divides us instead of what brings us together...

we are doing the fascists' work for them, and our communities will crumble to dust.

So first things first - my personal opinion is that nowadays there's just s HUGE gap between men and women in terms of being a a well rounded, capable, mature human being. Sadly. I think you’re slightly missing the point of that scene which is at that moment louis believes lestat has actually made the effort to compromise for the family (he doesn’t know yet that Antoinette is still alive) and Louis has agreed to kill people again after both lestat and claudia ganged up on him so as far as he knows claudia IS the only one who’s making waves for no reason. That’s literally what prompts her to expose Lestat’s lie after that though and once he finds out Lestat’s compromises weren’t real he also stops making an effort too and sees her provocations as necessary to getting them out in the second chess scene.

I think reading maliciously into that line is weird when we know at that point Lestat has gone to great lengths to fake his way back into the house and he hasn’t yet been exposed in that scene. Like we can say louis is stupid for believing them but that’s often how people treat victims of abuse (why are you so gullible, stupid, etc) when they fall for their abuser’s schemes.

mihashi/hamada: listen literally any ship that isnt abemiha or tajihana is a rarepair for this manga which deeply sucks if u arent a fan of either of those ships but i dont think this pairing even has a tag like these two are childhood friends hamada starts a cheer sqaud for the baseball team mihashi plays on theyre generally pretty close (its been a while since ive read the start of the manga but im pretty sure hamada also got mihashi into baseball in the first place? like hello??) n then theres like one fic in their platonic relationship tag so 👍👍

Nokiami : (spoilers for the game) all the fan stuff ive seen for the game is painfully straight unless its focusing on the two ships where one character is canonically gay n in love with the other (protag of the sequel game with his gay bestie i forgot the name of n yuuko/fei) n ami is usually just drawn on her own BUT theres a lot of canon subtext between nokia n ami mostly as a result of not much actually changing based on if u play as a boy or a girl regardless nokia to some extent likes ami she flirts with her talks about their relationship as if theyre already dating theres a scene that parallels a m/f couple in the game that plays exactly the same between ami n nokia with two other characters saying something along the lines of ah young love during a mandatory side quest ami gets offered an implied sex doll that looks exactly like nokia (weird story there the quest ends with it being heavily implied that the people that take the dolls end up having their organs harvested while their minds are stuck in a digital space called eden unaware that theyre not in the real world) n she has to think about it before declining the offer nokia's character arc is working to become a strong leader n reliable friend cause she wants to stand next to ami instead of relying on her theyre childhood friends but forgot about it ok i need to explain a bit more of the story so like as kids ami n nokia along with three other characters met beta testing for eden n one of them ended up getting eden syndrome to make sure theyre all able to leave safely (theres a thing called eaters that if u get eaten by put u in a coma cause theyre storing the contents of ur brain in them) n a guy who wants to use the eaters to get to the next stage of evolution removes their memories of the incident so years later as teenagers ami nokia n arata (one of the childhood friends important to the story but not to the ship) become friends again n reunite on eden where ami ends up getting eden syndrome but in a funky way cause she was logging out as she got eaten so she has a cyber body that over the course of the game deteriorates n at the end of the game ami basically dies right as everything is being fixed all the victims of eden syndrome are no longer comatose but ami is cause yknow kind of deteriorated too much n it happened right in front of nokia's eyes as she reached out for her hand so they could go home together n nokia cries for the only time in the game cause of that but ive genuinely never seen any fan stuff of them interacting so despite them being teased romantically n built up as being really important to eachother theres nothing not even like nokia with takumi (boy protagonist) im submitting it specifically as nokia/ami just cause i like wlw ships more if u want to do it neutrally protag's surname regardless of gender is aiba sorry if this is incoherent its been like 6 months since ive played the game

GODDDD YEAH the heather bath scene makes me INSANE. staring DIRECTLY at ‘he likes it cold,’ and the ice in the tub and the fact that el, who is often the one in sensory deprivation tubs, finds heather in the tub dying and drowning vs el choking in the tub in the pizza shop in s4.  The bathtub really is such a choice here, especially considering how often pools and bathtubs are interlinked in st (ie el’s pool in s1 being called a bathtub/the ep being called ‘the bathtub’ despite the only ‘bathtub’ being el’s pool in the gym) and with Heather being a lifeguard at the pool. And I’m writing up an analysis on this rn but I think part of why they chose bathtubs and bathrooms specifically to be tied to SA is a.) due to virginia abusing henry in a bathtub & him being the mind behind the mindflayer/the one possessing people & so then the show is trying to hammer home that tie between henry and SA and b.) they chose the bathtub/bathroom for henry etc from a production standpoint because generally it’s the room in the house with the most tiles/grid imagery, and so when we look at grid imagery as *web* imagery with the context of spiders being referred to as *predators* in the show, then it makes sense for the bathroom to be the ‘web’ of a spider/place where people are preyed upon/caught in the web.  And the fact that with heather, they went for the void without having more of the grid/tile imagery/more of the bathroom around her is VERY interesting because it really hammers home the idea of the bathtub specifically being the place where abuse is received. It’s also interesting to look at the ice in the bathtub because where ELSE do we see ice in tubs? El’s sensory deprivation tub. There’s something about the fact that Els’s sensory deprivation tub enhances her powers but also makes her more vulnerable, and a predator like Henry would want victims such as Heather to be vulnerable (he likes it cold partially for that reason).  AND THE CREEPY ‘SHHHH’ TALK IS SO. god bathtubs and SA really are so heavily intertwined in ST and the fact that people end up wet in the UD (especialy Will) despite there being no water in the UD.. i wonder if they get dragged through the void when they’re transported to the ud (such as el after destroying the s1 ‘demogorgon’ and barb getting transported to the pool) similar to heather which doesn’t happen when they just go thru a portal (hence why people dont cough up water after just going thru a portal) and so it’s likely narratively because henry is the one taking them to the ud in those scenes (with him being the classroom s1 demogorgon) and it’s meant to demonstrate that his attacks are paralleled to SA/causing people to drown, it’s not just the ud causing people to cough up water, it’s henry causing it, bc again, we don’t see it happen when people go through a portal normally, we only see it when they’re forced into the UD by henry. when they don’t consent. especially considering that henry’s mind lair fades into the void in s4 so him dragging people through it or them frankly being IN the void but being in a sort of ‘vision’ like the way that his mind lair is a ‘vision’ that fades away and not actually being in the UD seems like a strong possibility (i have some other evidence for this too that im putting into an analysis esp a super weird detail about barb seeing the demogorgon). So yet again, henry is tied to SA, because drowning = SA in ST and his victims cough up water/people only cough up water when theyre FORCED into the UD by him.

the bathtub here is such a Choice because it really wasn't necessary. she could have been on the floor, there could have been more of the bathroom visible too. but no. just the creepy red door and the bathtub behind it. bathrooms have such an interesting and consistent role in ST it's wild. and that's also paired with her being flayed and having gotten the super hhhh "stay still it'll all be over soon" talk from Billy an episode before

red velvet ramblings & headcanons

i started doodling rv and then i started thinking abt him and now i have brain worms

i think rv is kind of like, i dnt know how else to describe this but half were wolf. bc i think his cake arm is like a werewolf arm. this is bc theres a lot of cake hounds and cake brutes which are wolf inspired, so my brain just went like yea, wolf arm. and then i started thinking rv’s skin is entirely red right? and sure it might be bc hes made from red velvet, but most other cookies dont have this, except squink whos a monster and yam who. idk hes yam. anyway ignoring that, i hc that rv’s actually a burn victim and thats why he has red skin. so his body is kind of like, half burnt cake that fades into burn scars and hes a bit disfigured but not like a lot, just tons of scarring. think like third degree burns. also, he was baked with dough that was too thin, hence he ended up being half cake as the mixture was weird and not made properly. and i think he would have chronic pain from being half cake half cookie, because his body is in a constant unbalanced state as one half is thicker (heavier) than the other. so rv is like a fusion between a werewolf and a burnt human. his left half would also have lots of fur just like a wolf, like brute would have.

de is basically rvs mom. and she has lots of big expectations for him. and he feels like hes not able to meet those expectations bc of his physical form being a weird amalgamation between cake/cookie which limits him. and he has a lot of insecurities. bc when ppl see him, they react with disgust/fear, never giving him any chance to really show who he is bc they only see him as “monster” and run away. hence ppl stay a way from him and hes really lonely and insecure about not being good enough, being abnormal. de abuses his insecurity and manipulates him into believing that the only way he will be accepted by society is if they destroy it and rebuild it anew, thats why rv is part of the dark gang. and de KNOWS he loves the cake hounds and other cake creatures bc they are non judgmental, they are like him (cake), they love him as he loves them. so de abuses that, tricking rv into believing ppl also hate cake creatures as they hate him, and tells him he must train the creatures to become weapons for destruction. this only causes ppl to start believing they are aggressive and bad, since they are trained to be that way, which reinforces rv’s hatred for ppl, and it creates a cycle. 

i think rv is rlly similar to werewolf cookie. werewolf isnt necessarily cake, but hes a type of wolf just like rv, except ww is full wolf while rv is only half. but they have similar insecurities, theyre both seen as “monsters” by society and thus rejected and forced into isolation. but in their hearts theyre both good people who only want to be accepted and loved, yet they cant be. their only difference is that ww simply falls into a depression, embracing his sadness whereas rv embraces his anger at the world and projects it onto everyone else. ww is melancholic; rv is angry and frustrated. but they are both in pain, lonely, and longing for something more. i think, if they found each other, they would be surprised at first: another wolf cookie, like them? and this curiosity would pull them towards each other, despite ww being afraid of hurting rv and rv being afraid of doing wrong in de’s eyes - de, the only person whos been with him since the start. i think rv loves de, is dependent on her, believes she is the only person who cares for him when that is very much not true at all. and i think ww would help rv realise how abusive, manipulative, toxic de is as a mother.

1. its victim blaming of hades to tell minthe its HER fault she "couldnt get over him". like? you lied to her! youre the one who blurred the lines to date her! you were just as toxic to her if not more so by controlling where she lives and her job, all while never defending her to your cruel family! you had all the power over her while she had nothing! you dumped her for a 19 year old and dont care she crippled minthe! i wont excuse minthe's actions, but hades is ultimately the worse of the two IMO

2. you know why fans claimed "Minthe should've reacted better"? since the first episode Rachel has been drilling into their heads Minthe is an irredeemable monster, and her not bending over backwards to H/P means she deserves the absolute worst. Minthe reacting how anyone logically would doesn't matter when LO is designed to coddle H/P, and anyone against them must suffer for it, even if the victim to H/P's actions. they never wanted her to be "redeemed", they want her head on a silver platter.

3. i know this is not what she intended bc the only characterization rachel has of hxp is "the best over everything" but uh, does she know having hades control all the petroleum and gasses and whatever else is actively destroying the planet, right? like hes helping the very thing persephone draws her power from and what she's connected to be destroyed to appease hes need for wealth and power. its kinda gross hes being romanticized while he commits horrible acts like this for his bank account.

4. its not impossible to go opposite in their original myth personalities and still have it work. like in hades game, sisyphus is one of the most likable characters, achilles is gentle and kind, ares is calm and rational, etc, but it makes sense within the context of the story. LO in comparison goes "all these loving mothers are evil because i said so! this beloved god is now evil because i said so! minthe is evil because i said so!" and that's about it in terms of logic to these wild changes.

5. I can kinda get behind anon's theory about the flower nymphs looking like P to help her be undetected, the problem is there are also unrelated women in comic who are bright pink and look just like her, with hades even confusing them for her! if i had to bet the only reason they look like that is because rachel just wanted daphne to look like her to hammer home apollo is "obsessed" with P and to fake them as her "real family" over demeter. also just laziness in designing characters in general.

6. its weird hades and persephone are well aware what they're doing is bad even openly admitting it and yet the narrative is so hellbent on excusing their bad actions?? like hades being the major toxic factor in his relationship to minthe, persephone killing people, or hades wanting to bone an eternal 19 year old? like rachel you know thats not how character growth works, right? you cant show they have horrible flaws and leave them to never grow and learn from it, that's not good writing at all.

7. what i also dont get is the hierarchy makes no sense? like zeus is framed as the top god, but that would mean hades cant be the most important man ever so rachel also made him equal rank with zeus (and i guess poseidon too) so?? how does zeus have all that power over them then if theyre all equal? is it because zeus swallowed metis?  also how are the fertility goddess so powerful and rare yet so easily taken down? how are they overpowered and super weak at the same time? i just dont get it.

8. Re reading chapter 144 and other anon is right we do see the pomegranate pin on Hades outfit (so Hades gifts it to her)

But also some things to note

During the makeout session persy begins to disappear in butterfly form and hades is like "no don't leave!" And he grabs her, preventing her from leaving. Which is..kinda Ick considering they were on their way to having (public) sex and he doesn't want her to leave which seems like he's not really respecting her boundaries? (because if she does he'll "be lonely")

The pomegranate pin is Hades' to begin with so technically one of Persephones symbols is not hers (yes I know in the original myth she ate it in the underworld / was forced to eat it but still its supposed to be her symbol)

Hades notes that he "doesn't want to overstep his boundaries as host" because Persephone is a guest (too late for that)

Persephones main concern (after what a week or 2?) after being raped is when Hades wants to stop her reaction is "dont you want me anymore?"

Persy's literal one and only concern is that she thinks if she doesnt sleep with Hades right then or when/if he wants to that "she wont be able to give him what hes used to" ... Which is reinforcing that she went to therapy to get "over being blocked" in regards to having sex

Although Hades does mention that she shouldn't feel like she needs to please him and that a kiss can just be a kiss which would be nice

(And yet his thinking of marrying her amd he's known her for 2, 3 weeks? ... And he says "the beginning of a new relationship is exciting and scary" so hes basically indicating thay their dating at this point, I think?)

And later the nymphs in the store are like "do you wanna be the dominatrix of the bedroom?? Buy this lingerie!" And persy does. So??

Meanwhile Demeter is very worried for her daughter who is busy sitting in Hades lap in a pool.

10. im not even against rushed relationships, ive known actual couples who met and were married all within the same year and it worked out great, the difference though is these were people who had their own lives and previous relationships. the issue with LO is RS designed it so Persephone can NEVER have relationships or a life outside of Hades, and if they did get married offscreen, it's framing their marriage in a toxic and unbalanced light. That's not a romance, it's a disaster waiting to happen.

11. i feel like there's a difference between drawing an interesting hooked/aquiline nose versus whatever the hell RS puts on Hades' face. It honestly looks like he's in between morphing into a bird half the time since it just looks like a beak over an actual facial feature.

12. are there shareholders or a board of advisors or something at underworld corp? because if there is id say they have more than enough reason to kick hades out and strip him of his titles/shares because of all the shit he's caused by being guided by his broken pp over thinking with his head. liking dating TWO employees? and getting one of them phsyically crippled by the other bc he can't be honest with either of them and she's a walking time bomb? he's a walking HR nightmare.
