Heyyy can u plz write a season one Bellamy blake x reader griffin/Kane SMUT where they are enemies and leaders of the 100 but don't see eye to eye on anything but have too much sexual tension and attraction towards each other and decide to give into their desire for one night cause they think if they screw each other they get their attraction out of their system?
Invisible String [B.B]
Tumblr media
summary: hating him was easier than loving him. especially when clarke went through so much trouble to keep them away from each other. but for some reason, her attraction to him was much larger than her dignity
pairings: bellamy blake x caroline griffin (oc) a/n: the oc has no description, so feel free to imagine whoever you wish, I just write better when the main character has a name
tags: (18+) wells jaha lives, cursing, the nickname "princess" cause it's kind of cringey but fits their dynamic, SMUT; hate sex, (kinda) dom!bellamy, dirty talk, hate sex, hair pulling
Hating Bellamy Blake was almost too easy.
He was too cocky for his own good and was even worse at listening to orders than Caroline. He had been tormenting her, her sister and Wells since they landed.
But a long time has passed since their first days on Earth. The camp was functioning well and Caroline and Clarke found a way to work with Bellamy. After a kid died and Murphy was banished after being accused of killing some privileged kid, they formed a truce. Bellamy was the one leading the hunting trips and watching over the delinquents who were building the wall, Clarke was in charge of keeping the peace with the Grounders (the liberty of her having a thing with their Commander) and Caroline decided who got which job and worked with Raven to make radios and get in contact with The Ark.
She was not that thrilled about her mother coming down because, before she got arrested, she was not exactly mother of the year. Still, she felt guilty about the innocent people who were dying up there while there was a safe planet waiting for them.
Caroline let out a sigh and stood up, instantly drawing Raven’s attention to herself. She wiped her sweat off of her face with a rag and placed it down on the table, before saying, “I think that I’m done for today. I have to discuss some stuff with Bellamy.”
Raven snorted and raised an amused eyebrow, her tone taunting. “Oh, I bet. So much for staying away from him.”
The Griffin rolled her eyes at the reminder of her sister’s warning and wordlessly walked out of their work tent. Bellamy was very blunt with his flirting when they weren’t spitting insults at each other and when he wasn’t sleeping with half of the camp. Caroline was slightly annoyed and brushed it off quickly, but Clarke was down-right pissed. Her protective older sister was on and she was quick to tell Caroline how bad of an idea getting involved with Bellamy was. Her lecture was at least five minutes long but Caroline did not listen to a word that she said. She was not stupid. She knew that even flirting with Bellamy was a bad idea, but she was not planning on it. She liked to believe that she had standards.
“Hey, Princess.” Bellamy greeted her when she entered his tent without knocking. “You’re early.”
“No, you just slept in.” Caroline deadpanned while scanning his bare chest with a blank look on her face while he sat on the edge of his makeshift bed. “Some of us have been up and working for hours.”
Okay, yes, Bellamy was an asshole. But he was a hot asshole. If you asked her, she would say that the fact that he was annoying only made him more attractive. But that might just be her daddy issues talking.
He furrowed his eyebrows and asked, “Shit, is it really late?”
“Yeah, it’s almost lunch.” She shrugged and walked across his tent to grab one of his shirts. She absentmindedly threw it on him, silently telling him to get dressed. “I told Wells to let you sleep. You were keeping guard pretty late last night.”
She told herself that it was because he needed his eight hours of sleep if he was going to function properly. He was even more grumpy when he slept for only two hours.
Bellamy’s lips tugged into a grin and then fell open as he let out a dramatic gasp. “Was that you being nice?” She rolled her eyes and he was quick to add, “I’m sorry, I only ever saw you being nice to Clarke and Wells. Is it snowing outside?”
“Shut up.” Caroline muttered, her eyes involuntarily flickering toward his hands. “Just get dressed. We have work to do.”
He grabbed the blue shirt that she gave him but made no move to put it on. He simply raised a knowing eyebrow. “Are you sure that you want me to do that? You don’t want to keep checking me out?”
Caroline felt heat rushing to her face. Her mouth opened and closed a couple of times, but no words came out and she was desperately trying to find something to say. A couple of seconds later, she simply blurted out, “Don’t flatter yourself. You’re not that good looking.”
His smirk only grew. “Oh, so I’m not that good looking?” He stepped closer and she wished that the ground would swallow her whole. “I knew you liked me, Princess.”
“You wish,” She shot back, but made no move to step away from him. His scent was intoxicating and she could not look away from his face. His dark eyes were flickering between her eyes and her lips and she swore that they only got darker when her breath hitched.
Bellamy lifted his hand to brush some of her hair away from the face and he licked his lips, an action that only made her stare at his lips longer. He pushed his face closer to her own and just as he was about to lock their lips together, Wells’ voice rang through the air.
“Bellamy, did you take my─” He cut himself off when he looked up from the ground to see his best friend standing inappropriately close to the guy that she hated for months. His eyebrows shot up in surprise and he silently looked back and forth between the two of them for a couple of moments. He swallowed and awkwardly croaked out, “I’ll come back later. Or never. Probably never.”
Caroline watched the place he was standing at a couple of seconds ago in shock. She quickly stepped away from Bellamy and cleared her throat. “Get dressed and meet me in the map tent.”
Bellamy watched her leave the tent in a rush and chuckled to himself the second she left.
-
Caroline wished that they could simply work in silence, each on their own side of the tent. After what happened earlier that morning, the last thing that she needed was to spent the next couple of hours before lunch with Bellamy. Especially because he seemed completely unfazed. If anything, his amusement only grew every time he would catch her staring at him which would lead to her having to look away or narrow her eyes into a glare to seem annoyed rather than flustered.
He saw right through her. That might be the reason why she hated him so much. She had always tried to keep her walls up as high as possible because she was afraid of letting people in. But Bellamy could read her like an open book.
“We should move Jasper from the gate and get Miller there.” Caroline suggested as she leaned over the map of their camp. “I love him to death but he runs at the first sight of danger. There is no one better than Miller. I trust him to stay there more than anyone.”
Bellamy surprised her by shaking his head. Her eyebrows furrowed. Was Miller not his best friend? “Guarding the gate is a big responsibility, yes, but it’s also dangerous. The guards there are usually the first to go. We have to put someone disposable there.”
Caroline let out a humorless laugh and looked at him in disbelief. “Are you kidding me? No one in this camp is disposable. We put the most competent person there, no matter how much either one of us cares about him.”
The Blake shrugged. “I don’t know if losing him is worth it.”
“And losing someone else is?” She retorted and stepped away from the table and scoffed. “I cannot believe you. You talk shit about The Ark, Jaha and the privileged for sending us here and labeling us as disposable but you are not any different. For some reason, those kids out there trust you but you are willing to sacrifice any of them if it means saving your ass and the two people you care about.”
Bellamy clenched his jaw, his eyes flashing with anger the second that she compared him to the monsters that killed his mother and locked up his sister. He stepped closer to her and glared down at her. “Stop pretending that you know me, Princess. You can’t psychoanalyze everyone in your life just because of one decision they make.”
Caroline glared back at him, not intimidated. “And you can judge people based on who their parents are? That’s ironic. I would not be surprised if you were planning to tell me that I should guard the gate since you clearly hate me so much. Putting me there is the easiest way to get rid of me, right?”
“Maybe I do hate you?” His words made her falter in surprise. “How can I not? You always have something to say about every decision I make. You take every opportunity to argue with me. Whenever I think that we are starting to see eye to eye, you do another thing to drive me crazy. And I hate myself for it a lot more than I hate you because despite you being everything that I’m against I still…” Bellamy did not finish his sentence and simply stared at the clueless look on her face. After a couple of seconds of silence, he muttered, “Fuck it.”
Caroline stumbled back in surprise which led to her sitting on the desk. Before she got the chance to kiss him back, he pulled away. His breath fanned across her lips and he stared at her, trying to find any hint of disgust or hesitance. He did not find any. But this time, she was the one that kissed him. She gripped his shirt to keep him closer while one of his hands tangled in her hair. Her breath hitched when he used his grip on her cair to pull her head down in order to reveal her neck. He did not think twice before he messily started placing open-mouthed kisses over her exposed collar bone.
She moaned and spread her legs so he could comfortably stand between them. His other hand found her waist and she ran her fingers through his hair, pulling on his curls lightly to spur him on. He pushed down her shirt to reveal her bra so he could keep sucking hickies down to her breats. The hand on her waist squeezed it and he paused, squeezing his eyes shut to get it together.
“Did you─ did you ever have sex?” Bellamy asked, his dark eyes practically piercing through her soul.
Caroline’s eyes almost softened at the genuine worry in his voice. He was grounded enough to ask the eighteen year old, who spent the last six years of her life locked up, if she was a virgin or not. Luckily, after Clarke broke Wells’ heart, she was more than fine with being his rebound to keep her mind off of other things.
She rapidly nodded, tugging at his shirt so he could get back to what he was doing before.
“Words, Caroline,”
Caroline. Not Princess or Baby Griffin. Just Caroline.
“Yes.” She breathed out. “I had sex before. Now stop being so uncharacteristically considerate and kiss me.”
Bellamy did not need to be told twice. He leaned back down to kiss her and her hands quickly found their way around his neck to pull him closer to her despite them already being chest-to-chest. His tongue slipped into her mouth and easily won the short battle for dominance.
Caroline placed her hands on his chest to push him away. He gave her a confused look which disappeared when she pulled her shirt over her head. He smirked and then copied her actions, exposing his chest. This time, she shamelessly checked him out.
Bellamy was pleasantly surprised when she reached down to pull his pants down along with his underwear. Her hand wrapped around his dick and started to slowly move her hand up and down, almost as if she was teasing him. He let out a low groan and leaned his hands on either side of her. He rested his forehead against hers and kept his eyes on her as she jerked him off.
“Fuck, Princess.” He cursed, his breath hitching. He was ashamed of how close he was just from her jerking him off.
He pulled her hand away and just as she was about to ask him what he was doing, he pulled her off of the desk in order to pull her hands down. He wrapped his arms around her thighs to place her back on the table and she gasped in surprise when his fingers slipped between her legs. His fingers teased her opening until she was whining into his mouth.
“Don’t tease.”
He chuckled and dipped one of his fingers inside of her. “Patience.”
She did not argue and simply leaned back, letting him pump his fingers in and out of her while he rubbed her clit. She moaned his name lowly, aware that if they were too loud, the others outside could hear them. Bellamy almost moaned at the sight of the girl squirming and trying her hardest to stay quiet on the table. The girl who never kept her mouth shut and was a force to be reckoned with was completely at his mercy.
Before Caroline could finish, he pulled his hand away. She panted and gave him a weak glare. “You’re a dick,”
“I didn’t hear you arguing when you were moaning my name.” He shot back and cupped her ass to bring their bodies closer together. He wrapped one of his hands around his dick and slid inside of her. He let out a deep groan and she let out a high pitchen moan due to his lack of patience. Bellamy placed one of his hands over her mouth and whispered, “Be quiet for me, Princess. You don’t want the rest of the camp to hear how much you hate me, do you?”
She shook her head and her eyes rolled to the back of her head when he pulled out and roughly pushed back inside her. He was no better than her. He was cursing and groaning as she rolled her hips back into his own.
They spent a couple of minutes like that, soaking in pleasure and the thrill that they got from the fact that anyone could walk into the tent at any minute. “I’m close.” He muttered and used the hand that was not covering her mouth to rub her clit in order to get her closer to the edge.
Caroline’s nails dug into his shoulders and the moaned against his hand, almost reaching her peak. He groaned at the pain and only snapped his hips against her faster. Her vision blurred and her eyes squeezed shut when she finally fell over the edge and came around him. Her walls squeezing him like a vice was what pushed him over the edge and he was quick to pull out and finish on her stomach.
Caroline panted and leaned her forehead against his chest when his hand fell from her mouth.
"So much for hating me, huh, Princess?"
She groaned. "Clarke is gonna kill me."

Clarke’s POV
Once everyone left and it was just Murphy and I staring at the door, I knew I had to go see if the team in the mines was still there. I turned and walked away, but Murphy followed.
“Where are you going?” He asked.
“The mines.” I answered.
“Fine, then I’m coming with you.” He said and I stopped.
“No. Go back with the others.” I said facing him.
“No way in hell am I leaving here without Y/N.” He said and I sighed.
“Fine, let’s go.” I said and we started running. We got there and all that was left was Octavia.
“Octavia! You stayed.” I said and she turned her back to me.
“Screw you.” She said.
“Of course I stayed. I know where my loyalties lie.” She said facing me again.
“We have to get in there.” I said rushing over to the door, but she grabbed me.
“If that was possible do you think I’d still be out here?” She asked.
“Shit…” Murphy said as we looked at the dead body of Fox.
“Why did Lexa sound the retreat?” Octavia asked.
“She made a deal with Mount Weather. Freed the Grounders.” I answered walking further in the mines.
“Now we’re on our own.” I added.
“So Y/N is freed?” She asked.
“No, Lexa left her. She wasn’t part of the deal. Apparently their leader took a liking to her.” Murphy growled. I started banging on the door, but Octavia rushed over to stop me.
“Stop! They’ll know we’re here.” She said. I stopped and turned around, I didn’t know what to do…
“What about Lincoln? There’s no way he’d have gone along with a plan like this.” She asked.
“He didn’t. They took him.” Murphy answered. I held up my gun and aimed it at the padlock. Octavia once again stopped me.
“What’s wrong with you?” She asked.
“I am getting through that door!” I answered.
“And that’s your plan? Bellamy’s counting on you. Everyone’s always counting on you!” She said.
“Well what do you want from me?” I asked.
“You trusted Lexa. You let a bomb drop on Tondc. You let all those people-”
“I am doing the best I can!” I shouted, cutting her off.
“Well, it’s not good enough.” She said shaking her head.
“Guys.” Murphy said holding his gun at the door. I held my gun up and Octavia took out her sword.
“Bellamy?” Octavia said and walked over to him. I stared at him in shock. Monty and Jasper walked out and Octavia walked over to them.
“I knew it. You two are too scrawny to drill.” She said hugging them both then Maya walked out in a hazmat suit.
“It’s alright, she’s with us.” Jasper said.
“Where’s your army?” Bellamy asked.
“Gone. Just like yours.” I answered.
“Say you have a plan.” I begged.
“Not really. We need to talk to Dante.” He answered, turning around.
“Maya says he’s in quarantine.” He added.
“Clarke!” Jasper said and hugged me.
“Where’s Y/N?” Murphy asked.
“Still inside. She was with Miller and Fox last time we saw her.” Bellamy answered and Murphy looked back at the container with Fox’s dead body. Before anyone could say anything Maya’s suit started beeping. Jasper rushed over and checked the air.
“Thirty minutes. We just changed it, that can’t be right.” He said.
“Um… It’s her last tank.” He said looking over at us.
“Okay, we’ll find you another one.” I said walking over.
“All the supplemental oxygen is on Level Five.” She said.
“Then we have to get you to Level Five.” Jasper said.
“Five isn’t safe for any of us.” She said.
“We’ll take the trash chute again. It’ll work.” Jasper said.
“To get in maybe. But Maya’s right, every soldier in this mountain is there. We’ll never make it out.” Bellamy said.
“We can do this. We’ll split up.” Jasper said.
Okay. You guys go for Dante. We’ll help Maya.” Octavia said looking at Jasper and we left.
Y/N’s POV
They caught us… They had us hung up by our wrists, but I could feel my strength coming back. I would be able to fight again. We were watching them drill into our friends when they brought more in. Raven was brought in a little bit ago along with another man.
“On your knees.” They said to the people they just brought in with bags over their heads. Cage walked in and gave a small smirk. He hadn’t noticed I was here yet.
“Did we take any losses?” He asked.
“Not as many as they did, sir, but I’m afraid I’m the only one left who’s been cured.” Emerson said.
“Some of the kids are still missing. If you’d like I can take a team in hazmats, we’ll sweep the other levels.
“No. No more wasted lives. In 48 hours we’ll all be on the ground.” Cage said looking around. His eyes landed on me and they slightly widened.
“What is she doing in here?” He asked, still looking at me. Emerson looked over at me and his eyes also slightly widened.
“Sorry sir, someone must have mistaken her.” He said.
“Well get her down. Now.” Cage growled. Emerson walked over to me and undid my restraints. I was still weakened so I fell, but he caught me. He took me over to Cage. He held me to him and kissed my head.
“Now, take off their hoods.” He said and they started removing the hoods.
“Dad?” Miller whispered.
“Nate.” His father said looking at him in shock. He tried to get to him, but they hit him in the head.
“No! You bastards!” Miller shouted as they revealed more people.
“Y/N?” A man asked. I think he was part of the council with my mother, but I wasn’t sure. I was never allowed out, so I didn’t really know anyone’s face. They took off another hood and it was my mother.
“Y/N?” She asked, shocked.
“Mom?” I asked. I never thought I would be happy to see her, but here we are.
“So this is your Mother, I would say nice to meet you, but under these circumstances.” Cage said with a smile.
“What is wrong with you people?” The man that said my name asked.
“Where’s my daughter?” My mother asked him and he looked down at me confused.
“She’s talking about Clarke.” Emerson whispered. Of course she is, it’s always Clarke with her… Cage walked up to her, bringing me along and looked at her.
“I’m sorry it had to come to this.” He said and pulled me out of the room.
“I’m sorry you had to see that.” He said with a sigh.
“How could you…” I asked.
“It’s the only way we can be on the ground again. The only way we can be together he said and kissed me.
“Come, let’s get you some food.” He said and pulled me towards the dining room.
Clarke’s POV
We walked into Dante’s room and he stared at us in shock.
“Hello, Clarke.” He said.
“Sir, we need your help again.” Bellamy said.
“It’s okay. I took out the camera from this junction box in the hall. We can talk freely.” Monty said.
“No one’s watching anyway. Thanks to you, they’re all on Level Five.” Dante said.
“You’re not.” I said.
“No… I’m not.” He said.
“Please, we don’t have much time. We need a way to get our people out of this mountain without killing everyone.” Bellamy said.
“He’s not gonna help us.” I said.
“You cut the power, risking the lives of everyone in this mountain, my people… even the ones who helped you.” He growled at us.
“We knew they’d be safe on Level Five.” I said walking up to him.
“We made sure not to destroy the turbines so you could repair them. We’re the good guys here, not you.” I said.
“Tell me, if we released your people and theirs, what would have happened to mine?” He asked and I turned to Monty.
“Can you get us into the command center? We need to see what’s happening on Level Five.” I asked.
“No problem.” He answered.
“Let’s go.” Bellamy said, grabbing Dante.
“Looks like you’re gonna help us whether you like it or not.” Murphy said with a smirk. We made our way down to the command center, carefully just to be sure.
“I told you, there’s no one here.” Dante said.
“Sorry if we don’t take your word for it.” Murphy said.
“Why aren’t you with your people on Level Five?” I asked.
“After what I've done, they can be free. I can’t.” He said and Monty got to work.
“Deliverance comes at a cost. I bear it so they don’t have to.” He said.
“It wasn’t Cage.” Bellamy said and we looked at him.
“It was your idea to make the deal with the Grounders.” He said and Dante nodded.
“We’re in. Got ‘em.” He said and Bellamy went in first, gun at the ready.
“It’s clear. He was telling the truth.” He said and we all walked in.
“Let's get the monitors up.” I said. Monty got everything up and running.
“The command centers live.” He said and we looked at the screens.
“Oh my God…” I said looking at the one screen that had our people on it. They were drilling into them.
“Is that Raven?” Bellamy asked. I walked closer as Monty started moving the cameras around.
“Mom?” I whispered.
“Tell them to stop! Now!” Bellamy said while grabbing a walkie.
“I won’t do that.” Dante said.
“Screw this, let’s just kill him.” Murphy said.
“Shut it Murphy!” Bellamy growled. I looked at the screen where all their people were and saw Cage talking to Emerson, Y/N was with them.
“Emerson.” I growled and took the walkie from Bellamy.
“Carl Emerson, Mount Weather security detail, come in.” I said into the walkie.
“Who is this?” He asked.
“You know who it is. Give the radio to the President.” I said. I watched as he walked back over to Cage and Y/N.
“Is that Y/N?” Murphy asked.
“My son loves her. She’s been with him this whole time.” Dante said and Bellamy grabbed Murphy.
“Relax. We’ll get her back.” He said. Monty moved it to the main monitor and we watched as he took Y/N into the hall with him.
“This is President Wallace.” He said.
“I have your Father.” I said and Y/N’s eyes widened. We watched her say something to him and he shook his head.
“If you don’t let my people go, including my sister, I’ll kill him.” I said.
“How do I know you have him?” He asked and I held the walkie up to him.
“Stay the course, Cage.” He said to him.
“You won’t do it.” He said.
“You don’t know me and my friends very well.” I said looking over at Murphy. We watched as Y/N said something to him, but again he shook his head.
“This ends now. Release my people.” I said turning my back to the screen.
“I can’t do that.” He said.
“It would mean the end of our people, Clarke.” Dante said.  I turned around and held my gun at him.
“Clarke, we need him.” Bellamy said.
“And I need his son to believe me.” I said.
“Don’t make me do this.” I said into the walkie. We watch Cage hesitate for a bit.
“Dad, I’ll take care of our people.” He said looking into the camera.
“None of us has a choice here, Clarke.” Danta said to me.
“I didn’t want this.” I said.
“Neither did I.” Danta said and I shot him in the chest making sure Cage heard it. Cage looked at Y/N and held her close.
“Listen to me very carefully. I will not stop until my people are free. If you don’t let them go… I will irradiate Level Five.” I said.
Y/N’s POV
Clarke killed Cage’s Father. Cage had held me close to him and kissed my head. He was hurt, good, he deserved it. Clarke was doing the right thing.
“Cage, listen to me. I don’t want anyone else to die. Stop the drilling and we can talk. There must be a way to get us all out of this.” She said and my eyes widened slightly. No! Just kill them all and be done with it!
“Emerson.” Cage said.
“Sir?” He said walking over to us.
“They’re watching us from the command center. Go kill them all.” He said.
“Yes, sir.” Emerson said.
“No Cage please! She’s right, there has to be a way for everyone to live!” I begged, even though if I get the chance I’m killing everyone here.
“No, come on.” He said and pulled me along with him. He pulled me back into the dormroom where they were holding and drilling everyone.
“Take that one off the table.” He said,
“Sir, we’re not done-”
“Now!” He said cutting the doctor off. They took Raven off and Cage looked at my Mother.
“Put her on it.” He said pointing at her.
“No!” My Mother said and they walked towards her.
“No! Please! Hey!” The man next to her begged.
“You don’t have to do this.” He said to Cage.
“Stop!” My Mother begged.
“There has to be another way!” I begged.
“There isn’t! Now stop or I’ll put you on that table too!” He shouted at me and I stared at him in fear.
“No one has to die for bone marrow! We can donate it! We can donate it.” The man shouted. I just stood next to Cage with his arm around my waist as they strapped my mother to the table. Lexa will be severely disappointed.
“Hey! We can donate it!” The man shouted again.
“That’ll never happen.” Cage said.
“I can. I can make it happen with her help!” The man said, but Cage just took a step closer, pulling me along.
“We can all survive.” The man said again.
“We can’t.” Cage said, shaking his head. They drilled into her and Cage looked up at the camera. I can almost fight! I can almost kill Cage…
Clarke’s POV
“Emerson’s coming for us.” I said.
“They deactivated my key card. Can you do that to his?” Bellamy asked.
“That one’s easy.” Monty said getting to work.
“Where’s he going?” Bellamy asked and I looked at the screen. Cage was walking off with my sister and we looked at another screen.
“The dorm.” I said.
“Monty, can you do it? Can you irradiate the level?” I asked.
“I can do it.” He answered.
“Wait a second, Clarke. We need to think about this. There are kids in there.” Bellamy said.
“I know.” I said.
“And people who helped us.” He said.
“Well, then, please, give me a better idea!” I said but he had nothing. We looked back at the screen and they were putting my Mother on the table.
“What have I done?” I asked. Kane and Y/N were getting him to stop, but Cage screamed at her and she looked at him in fear. He looked up at the camera and I stared in horror.
“Clarke, if we do this, there is no going back.” Bellamy said.
“Figure it out.” I said to Monty and he got to work.
“Now what?” Bellamy asked, looking at one of the screens. I looked over at the screen and Octavia was there killing two soldiers. Maya ran behind her and stared in shock.
“They gotta get out of there.” he said and they started running. There was a bang on the door and we looked over at it.
“He’s here.” I said.
“Jasper, they caught him.” Monty said and we looked over. Octavia and Maya walked into the mess hall and they were surrounded.
“Why are you stopping?” I asked Monty.
“Because I did it. All we have to do is pull this.” He said pointing at a lever.
“Hatches and vents will open, and the scrubbers reverse pulling in outside air.” He said.
“He’s gonna blow the door.” Murphy said and I looked up to see Emerson on the ground with a bag.
“Clarke, we’re out of time!” Monty said and I grabbed a hold of the lever.
“My sister. My responsibility.” Bellamy said.
“I have to save them.” I said. Bellamy placed his hand over mine and I looked up at him.
“Hate to ruin this moment, but hurry up!” Murphy said.
“Together.” Bellamy said and we pulled the lever down.
Y/N’s POV
The door opened and Jasper was being brought in. The guard walked him over to the wall and he was chained up. I watched him as he got out of his cuffs and turned around.
“Restrain him!” Cage said going over to him and a guard, leaving me next to the table. Jasper was holding a knife and I smirked. Alarms started going off and everyone looked around.
“What is it?” The men in the room asked. They all started burning except for Cage. He ran and Jasper went to go after him and I followed. He ran into the mess hall and Octavia was there next to Maya.
“Y/N!” She said. I ran next to them and kneeled down next to Jasper.
“Jasper, I know this sucks, but give me the knife.” I said.
“Why?” Octavia asked.
“Because I’m gonna kill Cage.” I growled.
“Are you strong enough?” He asked and I nodded. He handed me the knife and I ran out.
“Wait I’m coming with you.” Octavia said.
“No, go to the dorm. Get everyone free.” I said and she nodded.
“Be safe.” She said.
“You too.” I said and ran through the halls. I ran and found an open door. I smirked knowing that has to be where he went and followed. When I got outside Cage was there holding a high frequency device and a needle with red liquid in it and Lincoln was on the ground. Lincoln got up and sliced his hand off with his sword.
“No!” I shouted and stepped in front of him.
“Y/N? You followed me!” Cage said with a groan.
“He’s mine.” I growled turning to face Cage.
“Let me do one thing first, little one.” Lincoln said, picking up the needle.
“Be my guest. The more he suffers the better.” I said glaring at him. He pushed it into his neck and Cage fell to the ground.
“The first dose is the worst.” He said and handed me his sword.
“Do whatever you want with him now.” He said and I nodded. I stared him in the eye and stabbed him in the leg first.
“This is for keeping me drugged up.” I said and pulled the sword out. I stabbed him in his arm and he screamed.
“This is for raping me all those times.” I said pulling the sword out. Finally I stabbed him in the stomach.
“And this is for you to suffer.” I said and pulled it out once again.
“Come little one, let him bleed out.” Lincoln said and I nodded.
“Enjoy the ground.” I said and ran off with Lincoln. We ran to the front door and everyone was walking out.
“Y/N!” John said and I looked over and saw him running my way.
“You’re okay!” He said hugging me and lifting me off the ground.
“I am now.” I said smiling at him. He smiled back and kissed me.
“Y/N!” Clarke called and ran up to me. She hugged me and I smiled at her.
“Where’s Lexa?” I asked, realizing none of the Grounders are here.
“She made a deal with them. The Grounders get released and they leave.” She said.
“You weren’t part of the deal.” John growled.
“She did it for our people.” I said and they looked at me shocked.
“You’re okay with her just leaving you behind?” He asked.
“She knows what’s best for our people. If I must give my life for them, then so be it.” I said and they shook their heads.
“You’re one of us Y/N, not them.” Clarke said.
“We’ve been over this.” I said.
“You’re coming back with us.” She said and walked off.
“Please.” John begged and I sighed.
“I will, but I must go to Lexa. She must decide my fate.” I said and walked off to follow my sister. We got inside the camp they had set up and I watched as my sister didn’t enter. Her and Bellamy talked for a bit then she walked off while he walked inside.
“There’s a place we can go where we don’t have to worry about The Ark or Grounders.” John said while holding my hand.
“What?” I asked confused.
“Jaha he heard of a place, The City of Light.” He said and my eyes widened slightly.
“Across the dead zone? It’s dangerous.” I said.
“You’re scared of a little danger?” He asked with a smirk and I smirked back.
“Fine, I’ll go with you.” I said and he kissed me.
“We can be together, with no one judging either of us.” He said and I smiled.

What are the important bisexual characters that you said helped you? I am having a hard time finding good bi representation in which they aren’t considered promiscuous or unstable
Hiya anon ! What a quality question, thank you ! Here’s another mini essay about bi rep lmao.  If there are some that I forgot please tell me ! And to everyone, tell me about the bi characters who made an impact on your life, I’d love to know !!!!
Okay so.
-  When I answered the anon and talked about the characters that helped me come to terms with my sexuality, I talked about two in particular. Jack Harkness from Torchwood is depicted as very promiscuous, and somewhat instable. He still meant a lot to me because a) him sleeping around was never that much of a problem, it was because he was from the future, where things were different, which I thought was refreshing and b) his instability was because of the weight of being an immortal hero. Also fanon!Dean Winchester from SPN, as an older, more macho, emotionally witholding, badass dude written as bi meant a lot to me, but he doesn’t really avoid that stereotype either. But at least they were heroes.  However, I can understand wanting bi characters that actually don’t fit that stereotype, because bi people irl aren’t all like that, even if there is nothing wrong per se about sleeping with a lot of different people, or having mental issues to struggle with. And that was a while ago and now we have more and more cool characters ! Such as :
- Rosa Diaz from Brooklyn Nine-Nine. One of the best portrayals of bisexuality on TV imho. She didn’t start out as bi, she was this tough, cool, scary but with a heart of gold cop who had a lot of other plotlines before. But then, since they saw that a lot of wlw got this vibe from her, were really into her, and the actress came out as bi herself, they decided to use this. So it was super organic, and the way they introduced the subject was true to Rosa herself ; she’s a super private person, she doesn’t like anybody knowing about her life (it’s actually a running joke and Rosa Diaz has been implied to not even be her real name). But then she is dating a woman, and struggles with her parents not understanding and her coworkers find out, help her and support her. Her gay captain is there for her in his typical stoic but hilarious way. They organize game night with her when her parents won’t anymore. We see her crushing on women and dating, but it is treated exactly as the other character’s love life, they never make a big deal out of it. She isn’t the token queer character. She says outright she is bisexual and there is a specific point about her mom not understanding it’s not a phase and thinking she’ll end up with a man anyway, which #relatable. The focus is on the team as found family. Also right now she’s dating a butch woman, which is awesome since they are so underrepresented on TV and I hope we see more of her. That show really is my comfort show, it’s still bloodly hilarious and it really transcends the format to say some really deep woke stuff too, but never in a way that feels on the nose. Everyone should watch it tbh.
- Korrasami ! Oh my god, I was so blown away when they got together. They’re two characters from the animated series Legend of Korra, they start out as rivals in love who have feelings for the same guy, but as they have to fight baddies together, they become bestest of friends, and both fall out of love with the guy. Then in season 3 and 4, their relationship becomes central to the show, as Asami stands by Korra through some really tough shit. Also, they’re both ultra badass and fight really well together. A lot of fans started reading their chemistry as romantic, but we’d never thought they’d actually go there. But the show ends with them walking into the ‘sunset’ (well, the spirit lands) together, holding hands. Now, it was never completely explicit on the show BUT they were dealing with a lot of censure from the networks and you have to be willingly obtuse not to read it as romantic. And after that the creators drew them on dates, and there is a comic series in which they are shown kissing, talking about their feelings, introducing each other to their families, etc. It made me feel so validated when it happened, and I just adore the whole ‘love triangle ditches the middle one and fall in gay love with each other’ trope. (is it a trope yet ? it should be.) It’s still a kids show at its core, but it has amazing depth and deals with some very deep shit. Korra starts off as a bit annoying but she has a really cool development, she’s a girl character we need more of - brave, dynamic but also brash and reckless and action driven in ways that are almost always exclusively shown for boys. And Asami is a more typical girly girl but she’s also a brilliant engineer and has a spine of steel and she’s also very slyly funny. They’re amazing. And the comics are super cute.
- Now there are a lot of characters who are bi/pan that I love, and are good characters in themselves, but their arcs do intersect in some ways with promiscuity and mental instability. I’m thinking about Even from Skam and all his remake variants, Magnus Bane from Shadowhunters, several characters from Black Sails, Sarah Lance and Constantine from Legends of Tomorrow, Eleanor Shellstrop from the Good Place, Bo from Lost Girl, Ilana from Broad City, Joe McMillan from Halt and Catch Fire, God/Chuck from Supernatural (lmaooooo), several characters on Penny Dreadful, or in a totally different category, Vilanelle from Killing Eve or Hannibal from the series (who are hella bad guys but it’s never linked to their sexuality, and are also incredibly compelling to watch.)
And even though these characters taken individually, I would argue, are good rep because they’re complex and layered and interesting and never one-dimensional (and watching them feels incredibly empowering at times)....it’s still a trend. I feel like when writing a character that is attracted to multiple genders, there is always this sort of...tangle of tropes that writers default to, unconsciously. Some negative and some positive. It used to be this trope of bis being villainous, instable, jealous, flaky, immature, perverted, manipulative, cheaters, amoral, greey, etc...and then it evolved into something of a reclaiming and subverting this trope. So now you feel like the Bi Character kind of has to be badass, glamorous, seductive, often superpowered or extraordinary in other ways.. And they also for multiple reasons (they’re immortal, they’re sensitive artist souls, they’re from the future, they’re psycho, they’re exccentric comic relief, they’re daring adventurers and pioneers) don’t care about social norms which allows them to sleep and fall in love with whomever. And so they tend to have those super busy romantic/sexual histories and very troubled backstories. In the past it was a bad thing, now it’s often presented as this positive, enlightened or at least fun and badass thing. They’re heroic, with big hearts, a tremendous lust for life and a cool rebellious attitude. They’re complex, dramatic, tortured. Which can be super cool, too.
But it would be nice to have more ‘normal’ bi characters. I mean, boring bisexuals need to see themselves represented too ! Our sexualities don’t give us super powers. At the same time, it is true that bisexual ppl have higher rates of mental illness, which deserves to be explored, but it would be nice if it was actually articulated and not just part of this trope.  But still. We need rep, I think, that is more grounded and varied. So I think that’s also why I read a lot of fanfic. (I was really into the idea of bi Steve Rogers for a long time, partly also because he’s both very mentally resilient, kinda boring in a good way, and very unexperienced in terms of sex/romance, which is pretty much the opposite of the trope)
- I think books, and YA in general, are a good place to find these ‘normal bis’ characters. I’m thinking in particular of Leah from Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli (from the same book series that gave us the ‘Love, Simon’ movie) which is a super sweet coming of age/romance story about a super normal teenager who just happens to be also into girls (esp her best friend) and is loud and funny and very lovable and has zero doubts about being bi. You also have Adam Parrish from the Raven Cycle, another one of my forever faves ; he has an abusive family so PTSD from that but it never feels tropey, and it’s completely detached from his sexuality. He has magic powers, too. But his character feels completely opposite to the trope. He’s hardworking, somewhat withholding, prickly (and sometimes awkward), ambitious, determined, down to earth, and has a beautiful love story with another boy. And also Jane, from Jane Unlimited by Kristin Cashore, also really cool ; she’s a nerdy, smart girl who is actually inspired by Jane Eyre who has cool adventures in a weird house where we can follow her on different paths depending on the choices she makes, several of which are love stories. And finally the main character from The Seven Husbands from Evelyn Hugo, kinda fits the trope yeahhh since she’s a super glam actress who well, has seven husbands but it’s a pretty clever deconstruction since it turns out (slight spoilers) that Evelyn is actually through most of her life faithful in heart to the same person and the rest is mostly out of necessity, and her story feels very real and raw and down to earth.
- I don’t go there yet but I really want to check out Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Schitt’s Creek which I have read have very good bi rep. And I want to catch up on Orphan Black (Cosima and Delphine both don’t have exact labels but they’re multi-gender attracted and they’re this cool couple of scientists in a relationship that gets a happy ending). I will never forgive what they did to Lexa so I stopped watching but I do think that Clarke Griffin from The 100 is very good bi rep. Alexia from Skam France, meanwhile, is a bit of a boundary case for me because, even though she’s presented as the ‘weird one’ from the group, very colorful and liberated and exccentric, she’s still a very normal teen who’s happy and comfortable in her own skin, which is awesome.
- Disclaimer, I included characters in here that are also pan/omnisexual or don’t have a label but are attracted to several genders, for the purpose of this discussion i don’t think the difference is all that relevant at least to me (i mostly identify as bi for the sake of simplicity but tbh i could also fit under pan so i feel represented by all those characters). But I understand the importance of characters that state their identities more clearly and with pride.
- So in conclusion : there is nothing wrong with having a sexually active life or struggling mentally (even tho that one is not fun). And I do love all my badass casanova time travelling super powered bis.
But we need more bi characters that don’t fit that trope. We need bi characters in children’s shows, or that don’t have more than one relationship, or that don’t have a relationship at all, to break the tendency to always show bisexual ppl as overly sexual. We need bi characters in committed relationships to break this idea that bi characters are bound to cheat or can’t be satisified with only one person. We need bi characters that are mentally stable and successful and happy, to show that it’s possible. We need bi characters that are boring, bookish, nerdy, ordinary, clumsy, not particularly seductive, socially awkward, rule-sticklers, etc...to show that bi people are not all party animals, or doing it for attention, or to be wild, rebellious and socially progressive. It’s just a sexuality, it doesn’t say anything about your personality. Even though there are some correlations with MI or being bi might bring you in contact with more progressive ideas and to see life a bit differently, there is nothing automatic about it.
- In conclusion, reading testimonies from real people also helped me a lot. It’s a very dated but I got the book “ Bi Any Other Name: Bisexual People Speak Out “ when I was struggling with my own sexuality and it helped a lot, to read that even back then (1991) you had all sorts of regular ppl claiming to be bi and that it was not a phase or a fad or whatever.

Just out of curiosity, why don’t you like young justice??
aight, so i knew i was gonna wait to respond to this ‘til i had some time to explain.
and i want to start out by saying that i don’t think Young Justice, as a property, is a bad show. in fact, i think it’s a show that had GREAT potential. i watched every new episode via livestream every saturday lol. and now, i’ll be honest when i say it’s been some time since i’ve rewatched it, and i’m always open to changing opinions. a few years back, i wanted to give it another, fresher perspective and dove in for a rewatch, but ultimately didn’t finish. i don’t remember my reasoning exactly, but i recall being disappointed.and it’s funny i received this ask this week, b/c my friend and i were planning on giving it another rewatch for shits and giggle after finals ( sober or not is tbd ).
but so, here’s where i stand on the show.
i started watching YJ when it was abt 5 episodes into s1. and i binged those first five and stick to my guns that holy SHIT 1-3 are bomb as FUCK. super strong start! Independence Day will never not get me SO HYPE and remind me why i fell in love with DC’s teenage heroes in the first place. it’s so… youthful. a fun conversation for another time.
and now, when i started watching YJ, it was like four months into my making my TT!Kid Flash rp blog, and two months after i’d gotten into reading comics; when i found out Wally was like a biG DC CHARACTER, NOT JUST AN OLD CARTOON ONE-SHOT, i went EVERYWHERE to get my hands on more about Wally West. ironically, the first purchase i ever made from a comic store was a silver age Teen Titans tale, issue #2 of TTY1, and two issues of the old Young Justice comics ( still some of my favorite comics to this day; more on that later ).TL;DRi saw a commercial for YJ, ft. my fave DC char and my fave comic title and went “HOSHIT”.
as the episodes pushed the show’s plot along, it was fun and explorative of a more intense side to the idea of a group of superteens in the DCU. and again, very TEENAGER-Y, which i say in the BEST of ways, considering that was the target audience as well. but, as part of that audience at the time, one of the things that had started to bother me was the character relationships. yeah, i was loving on most of the main cast at the time, but for the first half of the season, the team’s supposedly-close friendships were pushed to the backburner ( EXCEPT for KF and Rob’s, which was one of the only things that got me through the season ). the first season WAS about straining relationships. the social drama was palpable. you NEED conflict in your plots, and char-v-char is especially fun. but i remember feeling like there was little bonding. they were a group of acquaintances, learning to co-habitate the same space- not to say that they didn’t seem like friends, but there was a lack of balance between “teens being professionals in their field” and “teens being immature teens”. both were squeezed in, but both consistently felt forced.
which brings me to the next point: forcing relationships without developing them!i wasn’t sure why i was supposed to care about Roy, like. At all. the team always bringing up that they trained alongside him, grew with the guy, and then??? nada, except when the plot needed edgy tantrumy angst.then there was spitfire. i ship spitfire now, but the ENTIRETY of s1 i was SO FRUSTRATED, because all those two did was bicker. wally was pretty foul to artemis, who was also just plain mean to wally. and i say this with the two of them as my TOP FAVE CHARS.and don’t get me STARTED on the best char on the entire team, KALDUR’AHM!!!! who was shit on by EVERYONE– fandom and plot, alike. actually, i do recall in my last rewatch starting two tallies of everytime kaldur was DISRESPECTED and TREATED LIKE GARBAGE BY TEEN AND ADULT CHARS, versus everytime he was treated respectfully. this boy was BRUTALIZED through s1.m’gann and conner, too– a cute concept, but borderline cringey, even creepy, at times. i was rooting for supermartian. i was. but it was like the writers didn’t know how to write a slowburn. the idea was honestly better on paper than in execution.
the YJ spinoff comics filled in a lot of these gaps, i’ll admit. it explored the chars, their relationships, and their behavior in ways the show seemingly didn’t have time to do, and i LOVE the spinoff series. but i also firmly believe that you shouldn’t need a second media to fix the first. it’s capitalistic and no fun.
through the duration of the show, there were also issues such as the hiatuses. i don’t recall them coming with much warning at a time, nor sticking to much of a schedule. i don’t actually remember what they were for, either. but, before and after each of (three?? was it three?) hiatuses, the showrunners would introduce a new character during a new arc, give said character some liners or plot fodder, and do away with them for the rest of the season ( i.e Rocket, Zatanna, Garth and Tula, etc. ).
i have some other, nitpickier issues– why was wally That Way, why was clark Like That, how come bruce was the ENABLER the entire time, etc– but many can be argued as whether they affected the show as a whole or not.my actual biggest problem was the direction.the director.Greg Weisman.bc idk what the hell he was doing half the time, and i don’t think he knew, either. the writing wasn’t GREAT, but at least it was consistent. Weisman truly had a marketable property, a fan favorite, and one of CN’s best running shows at the time. but between the hiatuses, the writing’s faults, the insufficient character development, and a HUGE ego thanks to his fanbase, Weisman was unable to uphold the integrity of his show. there was both fan-pandering, AS WELL AS consciously going AGAINST fans’ wishes. there was that whole “Ask Greg”-thing, too, where he would get back to a fan once every blue moon and answer background questions about the show’s universe, which became a scene of hot debate. Greg Weisman became the JK Rowling of DC, and lost a lot of my respect with his lack of damage control, and impulse control.
then, with the very inception of the show– and i don’t actually know if i can blame weisman for this or not, but i wanna know who pitched it, otherwise– the show’s CONCEPT. why was Young Justice made with this particular cast of characters, cherrypicked through DC history, aged down or revamped or just cut-and-pasted where they didn’t fit? why was its concept, “COVERT TEAM OF ADOLESCENTS WITH SUPERPOWERS WORKING TOGETHER WITH LACK OF SUPERVISION”? why was the show called “Young Justice” when what they wanted was the TT v3 comics? WHY DID WE NEED TO TURN SUPERMAN INTO THE UNAVAILABLE-FATHER TROPE????? questions that will forever remain unanswered. that’s a lie, i can answer most of them, myself.but all in all, a show with great potential that failed in execution.
season 2, i actually enjoyed more than season 1– it felt like there was more of a handle on the story and cast, alike. did i approve of season 2 and what went down? debatable. but that’s a very subjective view. objectively, season 2 flowed better than season 1, but still didn’t follow through on subplots, nor resolved relationships or even characterization ( m’gann, girl what the fuck?? ). very little team bonding, save for, once again, two chars out of the whole team. again, another season of SO much potential, but one that fell short.
its pros, however– i really enjoyed the darker themes, getting darker as time went on. there was a lot of tragedy in s2, and different perspectives and walks of life to watch through different lenses. a much more diverse cast, and very different conflicts to tackle. i was impressed. i don’t think all the controversies were resolved, but i also wasn’t quite as upset that they weren’t; open-ended conflict is frustrating, but is a great lead-in to another season.
————which, for better or for worse, we weren’t supposed to have.i personally would’ve rather the show ended there, not quite on a high note ( are u fucking kidding me fjaoisdfjoaifio waLLY, this was during the n52, too ), but with a concrete END. of course there was more to explore, the world they’d built was a big one, but we didn’t need to.
i was literally just yesterday chatting w my sis, bc after school lets out, we wanna watch season 3. i really do. i’m upset that there is one, but i do wanna know what happens to my faves. and, on top of that, i’ve been meaning to do one BIG rewatch, anyways, to get me set up for s3. as a student of film, it’s a huge philosophy of mine to rewatch EVERYTHING and go in with the intent of giving it a fresh start and a clean slate– both medias i love, and medias i hate. it’s important to analyze pop culture critically, and even things that aren’t good can still be enjoyable.
for me, Young Justice wasn’t a phenomenal show to begin with, from its technological side to its creative team to its politics, and i stopped enjoying it pretty early on. but, that isn’t to say it didn’t accomplish GREAT things, and isn’t UN-enjoyable; it has its moments. also i would DIE for most of the cast, i fucking love the characters.
i don’t think anyone is wrong for liking Young Justice. i try to stay in the loop about it, and form new opinions based on whatever information is out there until i can get ahold of the source material. and, i do like aspects of the show. but ultimately, it just isn’t my cup of tea.

Brightburn
Basically made this on DeviantArt first and my friend @whovian45810 told me of the extras thing and it's on here. Pretty long post, just a warning and some what of a review and reaction whatever in a way.
Pasted it and adjusted it. My honest thoughts on the film.
Well after long while of anticipation I finally saw Brightburn.
I didn't make this immediately because walked over here to this McDonald that's near my theater or theatre whatever. Especially was texting some friends and the internet wasn't up or something.
I'll just get it over with but I thought it was excellent. I liked the film but I feel like my anticipation might of got me a bit. Yet not in a very negative way. Yet I feel my friend Whovian told me about when she saw the movie last night.
I don't wanna make this very long but I wanna say some stuff. Again I liked it, but I feel after watching the trailers a lot and I guess yeah theorising about the film might of actually got me to see how the movie goes.
Yet I was pleasantly surprised still. Mainly by some directions they took with the film. But I'll be honest while my legs felt weird(but also because of personal reasons) like out of fear. But I wasn't horrified a lot because I think because of watching the trailers I kind of guessed what happened.
But I appreciate what the film was doing. Especially the promotions using the word, "Bold" as a way to describe the film I agree.
While it is undeniably a horror film. Including there were moments I was shocked by(mostly of how they were played out and other things) some moments where I had my arms almost over my mouth.
I weirdly view this film as some sort of tragedy in a way. Because the way it's played out, it's literally a super villain origin film. But with a horror twist. Especially it being heavily inspired by Superman because it is using Superman as the basis and his origin in a way. But I do view even though I view it as some sort of tragedy. Our main antagonist and in a way protagonist Brandon Breyer what he does in the film is basically unjustified. I think it was the way the film with of how he became what he was that makes me feel sad of how everything went. Because it feels like what happens to Brandon could of been dealt with but like I read on Wikipedia even before the movie came out. It's the Superman origin story but it takes a terrible left turn or something. Someone said that somewhere but it's not quoted by someone.
Especially to me I think what made it work was the cast. I feel the standouts were I hoped were Elizabeth Banks, and David Denman as Tori and Kyle Breyer. They were the strongest of the cast to me. Everyone else did a nice job but I just loved Elizabeth and David with what they were given. Including throughout the movie as things get worse.
But also the other stand out is Jackson A Dunn who appeared in Avengers Endgame as well as Brandon Breyer or the title Brightburn. He does a good job of playing a pre teen kid especially as he turns into the monster the promotions keep seeing.
Again it's what I thought what the movie might be. While it's a horror film yes, but it's weirdly this tragic tale that to me is kind of sad.
In fact I felt like I wanted to cry a bit but it sounds ridiculous. Because again I don't defend what Brandon does in the film. Including I don't wanna compare this to something like Jason Voorhees because they are two completely different characters.
But it feels like the film to me was a horror film mixed with tragedy. I could be stupid or what the hell.
Including to me personally while I don't wanna spoil anything. While Brandon is menacing when he needs to be. It wasn't all Michael Myers as I heard some folks talked about or what I had thought. Again he was great in the role, more emotional than what I was expecting which is good in a weird way.
Let me tell you this. Especially I read from Twitter and a guy's review I retweeted I saw someone mention, "Mortal Kombat style fatalities" or something like that. Yeah their is some gore and the film does not hold back on it.
Including I'm not gonna spoil any deaths or any gruesome stuff. But during the PE school scene, and the trick scene. I heard a guy I think the same guy go, "UGH" or, "OH" I think most likely during those two moments. Because they are just shocking to see how they play out and I wondered as well. Including other scenes it's just shocking.
To me personally because while yes evil Superman has been dealt with in other media. Yes I know in Superman 3 from what I know their is a evil Superman. But I'm talking about a being with Superman like powers doing this stuff in a R rated fashion and it's brutal. So just a warning about that if you plan on seeing it. Because I even thought if I recall they didn't hold back. Especially even said that to the guy on his Twitter review.
Also it felt short I've read someone said that too. Yet the movie did it's job but it didn't reveal everything. Including I feel in some weird way the ending seemed rushed. But it didn't anger me but it was short. Mainly the last part of the last act or whatever.
Now the ending and this is what people were complaining about and hated. Especially I was spoiled in a way by a thumbnail. The ending of the movie before the very ending. In a weird way I expected that final scene to be something like shot by Zack Snyder like it's weirdly beautiful but tragic. Because it's like this moment where Brandon's arc as a antagonist and his transformation as Brightburn is complete in a way.
I think the best way to say the film ends well, grim might be the best word. I've remember the guy from that Twitter review even say it's not for everyone if they can't handle the doom or gloom stuff whatever he said.
But I don't know if I should say depressing. Because it really does leave the idea of, "What happens next" and fits into what I said, it's basically a super villain origin story, it's about Brandon and his arc to become what could be the most terrifying force on the planet. Unless they do more films in the universe of Brightburn because I'll talk about that.
Again basically what Bruce and Lex talked about in BVS. Including like I said the dark reflection of what Clark Kent could of been. Including I'm gonna mention this I'm a guy who loves Man Of Steel and Batman V Superman. It truly is the what Amanda Weller said in Suicide Squad if another Superman came around and wasn't like Clark. Yet I still haven't seen Suicide Squad.
Gonna say again I'm not spoiling anything. I had hoped for a scene where Kyle says shit like, "Stop expecting him to save the world, fighting super villains, or saving cats from trees!" As a call back to Superman in a way or what I thought Tori would think Brandon might become. But the film deals with Brandon's origin in a different way. Because again it still surprised me. Also it would probably make the transformation of Brandon into a super villain even more sad if something like that was said.
Now the well....Whovian told me this...theirs a mid credits scene yes. I stayed for the whole movie after the credits hoping for the scene or an extra one in case, because I'm weird like that.
It's a little spoiler but I don't wanna spoil anything major. The mid credits to me goes quick and if you weren't told about the mid credits scene you wouldn't think it was. I was expecting one after it but their wasn't any.
Yet it does set up some stuff if this franchise is continued. Because to me a little spoiler.
I swear I feel one of the pictures had a little Spider-Man reference to what could be the Brightburn version of what Spider-Man could be like. It was mainly the eyes but I'd rather have you guys see it.
Yet I didn't look fully at the others but it was that one picture that really got my interest. Because I'm wondering if we will get more films like this of, "What if this popular superhero but not the same character instead became a super villain or some killer" while I worry it might get lazy because I think of my ideas. Also the audience might get tired of it. Yet I do wanna see more films like this.
Anyway I should close this up. I wanna mention my theater/theatre wasn't really packed at all. Only a few people but seriously I was in seat G1 funny Transformers reference I thought when I got the seat. But really maybe 10 or 9 just I wasn't sure 8 or 7 or 9 I don't know and wanna be honest with myself
But I'm grateful no kids were in there during the showing. Because hearing stories of kids being taken to films like Deadpool weirdly bothers me. I feel the films promotions really got the message out that this isn't a horror film. But what it's called a super hero horror film. Especially I don't want any kids seeing this film holy shit.
Again I liked the film. It wasn't as amazing as I thought it was. But it was good and I hope to see more like it. I recommend it if you want something different instead of the MCU or other comic book related stuff. Despite the film is mainly it's own original work not really based upon anything but uses Superman as a basis. Or if your a DCEU fan you might like this.
But be warned it's brutal and it doesn't hold back on what it does. It can be scary and tense at times it depends. Just don't get over hyped maybe.
On a more sillier note to end on. If we get a sequel or have a cinematic universe for Brightburn and even before I saw the movie I'm concerned this movie might do well since not many people saw it when I was there. I mean Aladdin came out today too.
But again if we get a cinematic universe and well a sequel, bring on the Brightburn version of Lex Luthor. But most importantly bring the Brighburn version of Doomsday please! I want to see that immortal friendly giant that would take on Brandon aka Brightburn please. But also other Brightburn versions of popular comic book characters so they can fight to the death in a weird way similar to Freddy Vs Jason but with superpowers and other stuff.

What do you think about Adam and Lilith?
im kinda not sure why you ask ME what i think about them cause ya know… i already said i don’t ship them  idk if you saw it but anyway I don’t think about them at all lmao but now i have to??/ i guess to answer this huh
i tried to answer to it a few times already and idk how to do it without going into much details or write it so i don’t get 1246 messages of how horrible i am for doing it just because i ship something else??? like, you ok? so here i go writing a lot which has 0 sense and idk you asked you get it
if you followed me since 2018, since i started watching caos, you would know that i don’t like the way adam was introduced in the show. at all. I am fine with adam being there, i have nothing against him and him and lilith together, even though i ship madam spellman, it doesn’t mean i automatically hate other ships and i kinda feel like that’s what everyone thinks while throwing stupid asks in my inbox or just writing about madam spellman shippers in general out there.
the show itself stated (and i already mentioned it somewhere here) that mary wardwell lives alone, that she is alone, that was right in the first episode. no adam was mentioned before, nothing indicated his existence at all. so yes, when they said there will be mary’s fiance it was like “what? what the fuuuuck?” so this is the main issue i have with adam being there. if they, at least once, slightly, mentioned his existence - i would not throw tantrums about adam :D
and you know what? it took few episodes, a lot of time when you have just 9 episodes in part 2, so i don;’t think writers did not know what to write in part 2 and came up with this idea AFTER part 1, as we know it’s all just s1 and most of it should be written or at least the main ideas of it should be there in the beginning, if it was something small then yes, but it was not small thing, if so, then i think they just don’t know what they do with characters and what to do with them now, and we can get any possible shit in part 3 and 4. i mean, they have to have some kind of an idea of where they go with main characters…
and while yeah, i can excuse this with “this is caos, when they did something right at all???” but i should not, writers should do it so we don’t have such a plotholes.
and if anyone goes here with: if you don’t enjoy don’t watch i will find you lmao
i enjoy caos, i hate it but enjoy :’D it’s difficult
so, to adam and lilith.
adam himself is… meh :D he could be more, but he was there just to make lilith’s character deeper, he was… a tool. ok, i always write something is “meh” but never explain what does it mean. i mean he is not worth of my attention, he is there but i don’t care, he was not interesting enough for me to like him or hate him, he is just there. i just don’t feel anything towards this character… if he was something in the show without lilith, then maybe i would like him? yeah, he was nice and all, but also was not?? i did not like him kissing mary just because they are in relationship, even if you are in a relationship it doesn’t mean you go and kiss the other person when they clearly don’t want it. on the other hand he really tried to be nice, dinner and all, he at least bought flowers lmao at first i was really like ready to hate him because i will never stop going about it - he never existed before! and appears from nowhere. but somehow he was not that horrible to hate him :’D some scenes were funny, some were just to make it clear what lilith thinks about something like marriage, can’t remember but i guess he said back then that they will not do anything she is not comfortable with - which is like GOOD, you dude grow up, thanks. but i am glad he was not there to have funny scenes only.
also, yes, lately i am so tired of hetero shit on screen that anything which is hetero is automatically OH FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE - AGAIN??? so i was not expecting anything here, only hate towards it all :D but i guess, since i was like that, that is exactly why i did not hate it. not good enough to love but i was not expecting anything good, so whatever it was - it was not bad. it was funny in some scenes, mostly because michelle gomez has incredible facial expressions and also, you can clearly see - she enjoys playing with another human being. oh poor thing, give michelle people to play with :’D
as someone who is here because they love michelle and lilith, i look at adam from the side of how he affected lilith. and again, he would not be there at all without lilith, he would be nothing in the show, he would have nothing to do, he was just a tool for another character’s arc. I loved seeing her like that, not entirely, but most of the time, like she was not doing shit for dark lord, was not preparing herself to meet him, she was just drinking tea/coffee, doing school job, sitting peacefully, i loved seeing her smile. not that mischivious one, or that one where you realize, that’s it, that woman’s gonna kill me bye bye :D but that warm smile, let michelle gomez smile more!
let her play female joker
i mean no, not that kind of smile but it’s not a bad idea :’D dc take note
if adam and lilith would become a thing and dark lord would not kill him, i guess i would not care for the ship, i would not be against it, it would be just there. not my type of a ship… like there’s lois lane and clark kent and i don’t give a shit about them, they are there and let them be, they don’t touch me, i don’t touch them lmao but i do realize how much lois means to clark, so yes, i do realize adam means something for lilith, and i don’t erase it because i ship something else, there’s this thing… idk what it’s called, it’s when you ship something and ship another thing also, or just don’t hate it because you ship the first thing. aham, good thing by the way, ya all could use it.
there was this theory here, can’t remember who wrote it tho, that adam never existed at all and it was all dark lord’s plan to see if lilith is still on his side or something or torture her, good one, that would be such a great if it was real in the show, cause that would explain why he never existed before. and it would not erase her growth that we see, that soft (sOFT?) side of her, that domestic mother of demons/queen of hell side which walks on heels in her own house in the middle of the night to drink some water :D. it would be unfair to her, but dark lord already killed adam and made her eat him, so what could be worse?  i really did not want her to suffer that much :( she deserves so much better that what she gets…
honestly, life is unfair to lilith so much, she was there all the time for dark lord, she did everything for him and he did not even hold his promise, he just gives the throne to someone who doesn’t even want it and clearly doesn’t deserve it, just because you are a daughter of the king doesn’t mean you deserve the throne. lilith really worked for it, she earned it! she deserves the crown and the throne. she was there for lucifer for so long and he just uses her… and once she gets something nice, something good, it’s taken away so brutally! so yeah, if adam never existed and was just dark lord’s manipulation of lilith, then yeah, it’s much worse but again, he already made her eat adam… none of other characters get so much shit in this show. if they make lilith suffer more i swear i will buy ticket and find them all and i will go to them with a chainsaw.
anyway, i saw people going miles writing how madam spellman shippers are all like: lilith never loved adam for real. like i have not seen those shippers myself but somehow i saw everyone else writing how bad MS shippers are… like yes, we have idiots around, but which ship doesn’t have such an idiots? like dude, why do you even care? ship your ship and be happy lmao same goes for everyone, stop fucking fighting over something that doesn’t even exist. canon or not? why do you care, it’s all fiction in the end. just because your ship is canon doesn’t allow you to tell everyone else to shut up about something that is not. can we all just ship whatever we want and have fun??? like, if you can’t laugh at your own ship - then honey, you have a problem. like, i will be the first one making shitty jokes about madam spellman :’D wait, i already do it.  you can love something without being too serious, it can bring you joy and happiness, but you don’t have to ruin it with all the shit.
Tumblr media
be smart ffs everyone: IGNORE WHAT YOU DON’T LIKE, block it, scroll down, stop spreading hate.
and ya know, if you say that YOU DON’T WANT TO INSULT SOMEONE/YOU DON’T HATE IT BUUUUUUUUT… and then go miles writing how you hate it and insult someone doesn’t mean that doesn’t count as an insult, just because in the beginning you stated that you don;t want to insult or you don’t hate it. you do! i don’t really remember what it’s called but it has a name…
anyway
i can’t say she loved him, he was nice to her, he tried to make her happy, but i don’t believe in love which happens so fast, and events were going really fast in those parts. so i think she enjoyed that there’s someone who cares for her finally, and she cared for adam for sure, she liked him, he was someone who finally was good to her, something that did not happen for a loooong time. so yeah, taking it away from her was really unfair and i hate everyone for it.  but loved? not sure. bUT she was totally ready to give it a chance.
also, don’t comment, it was my opinion and i don’t need a conversations about anything here. you asked you get it. don’t throw your opinions here, don’t reblog to add what you think, make your own posts for it. please.

Previous Chapter: She caught a glimpse of movement in the bushes and could feel a grin tugging at her lips when Lexa appeared. She hovered in the shadows, scanning the camp, and offered Clarke a smirk when she noticed her watching. Clarke grinned back as discreetly as she could before Lexa slipped back into the foliage.
“Clarke?” She focused back on the people around her, waving it off as nothing.
This would be a hell of a secret to keep.
The next time Clarke saw Lexa was three days later.
After Clarke’s ‘success’ at hunting, even if it was just a rabbit, Bellamy seemed determined to prove that he could hunt better than her. In all truth, he probably could, but it wasn’t like she would tell him that.
Clarke had gone out with hunting parties multiple other times, but this would be her first time alone since the Lexa incident. She went out with the excuse of hunting, and she actually was trying to, but what she wanted was something different. Something secret.
“I don’t understand how you still have animals around.” Clarke turned sharply, unsurprised to see Lexa calmly following her path. “All of you walk like you’re trying to step on every little thing you can.”
“Well I’m sorry if I didn’t grow up in a forest,” Clarke said. “We can’t all be ridiculously silent.”
“I could teach you.”
Clarke had to pause for a second to make sure she heard her right. “What?”
“I could teach you.” Lexa crossed the distance between them, settling comfortably against the trunk of a tree just a few feet in front of her. “I said I would help provide food. My way of doing that is teaching you to provide food.”
There was no reason to deny the offer. “Okay. Let’s do it.”
Lexa nodded, her face turning all serious. “First we must fix your feet. You step too loudly. Any animal could hear you coming.” She pushed herself up. “Walk a bit for me.”
Lexa had her walk maybe five feet before she stopped her. “You are trying to walk quietly, but it is not working. You put all your weight on wherever you step instead of distributing it. Walk on the outer edges of your shoes and roll your feet forward after you place down your heel. I suppose part of the problem could be your footwear, but we will have to make do.”
Lexa knew what she was doing. As they moved, Clarke watched how Lexa walked and revelled in how silent she was, even when walking so casually. By the time Lexa decided it was time to part ways, it had been over an hour. Clarke didn’t feel as if anything had changed, though Lexa insisted it was an improvement.
“We’ll make a hunter out of you yet,” she said, a small smile curving onto her face. “For now, though, I do believe I promised to provide.” She took a knife out from her belt and threw it into the bushes in what to Clarke looked like a pointless maneuver, but Lexa followed after her knife and produced yet another dead rabbit.
Clarke looked at her in awe. “How did you do that?”
“Practice and experience,” Lexa said, handing the rabbit to Clarke. “It is how we produce our food. Anyone who is able-bodied learns to hunt.” Her eyes rested on the dagger strapped to Clarke’s waist. “Perhaps next time we’ll have to see how good you are with that knife.”
“And when will ‘next time’ be?”
“The next time I catch you alone in the woods.” Lexa smirked before turning around and disappearing into the foliage.
That girl was definitely something.
-
It wasn’t until later that day that the topic of Mount Weather was brought up among her ‘rebel group,’ as the delinquents called them. It was something Clarke had avoided talking about ever since the startling truth of it had been told to her by Lexa.
“So, Clarke,” Jasper said as he tore into a rabbit leg. “What happened to your desperate plan to get to that mountain?”
Clarke shrugged helplessly, her mind racing to think up a reasonable excuse. “From here, it has to be an eight-hour hike or so. If it really is the stock-full bunker we think it is, just the six of us wouldn’t be able to get everything we need from there to here, much less across the thirty-something miles between.”
“So Princess did her math,” Finn said. “Any reason you didn’t figure this out before?”
“Optimism.” Clarke prayed that would be enough, that would be the end of it. Of course, it wasn’t.
“People are starting to realize that Bellamy isn’t a very good leader. We could rally up however many are willing to go and, I don't know, scout out the path there?” Monty said.
“Leave the rest behind, that’s what we do.” Octavia threw a scornful gaze at the people sitting around the main fire. “If they don’t want to save their own asses, then fine.”
“We can’t do that,” Clarke said. “We’re not leaving them behind. That’s another reason I’m hesitant to go. I don’t want to have three dozen miles between them and us.”
“Leave a trail or something. Maybe they’ll follow us.”
Clarke sighed. She really hoped Bellamy got his shit together soon. If she wanted to tell them about their newly acquired allies, she’d need him to get them organized. He was the only one the delinquents seemed to listen to. If he opposed her, she’d never get anywhere.
“Whatever,” Clarke muttered. “I’d rather wait until the camp isn’t such a mess to pursue anything that big.”
Octavia narrowed her eyes. “Are you sure you’re okay? This seems… sudden.”
“Maybe I was just hanging onto hope all before now.” Clarke looked toward the distant peaks, internally hurting as she imagined how Lexa’s people felt being ripped from their families by whatever horrible people ruled the bunker. It was enough to make her determined to keep her people away from the same fate, and Lexa’s as well if she could. If she could.
Her people come first.
-
This was the fourth time this week she’d seen Lexa.
She’d fallen into a routine. Every other day, she went out alone to go ‘hunt.’ Bellamy tried to convince her to go with a hunting party, but she shot him down, saying she did better alone. He couldn’t argue, considering the last two times she’d come back with food.
Clarke was picking up quickly on Lexa’s teachings. Knife throwing came easy to her; she could throw well, only needed to refine her aim. Her stealth was improving, but it was still a far cry from what it would need to be in order to hunt efficiently. Lexa was still providing the meat, though she was certain that given another week or so Clarke could perhaps catch something herself.
The relationship between the two was awkward. It was all business, and though Clarke had taken a liking to the grounder girl, Lexa wasn’t as willing to put her trust in Clarke. She could understand that; it’s hard to like someone when you don’t know whether they’ll still be around tomorrow.
Clarke’s knife struck just inches from the X Lexa had carved onto the trunk of a tree. Lexa nodded, pulling it out and tossing it back. “Getting closer. Again.”
Clarke shifted her posture a bit to the right, the knife hitting a few inches off on the other side. Lexa repeated the same action she’d been doing since they’d started. “Don’t adjust your body, adjust your throw. Aim your body at the target, aim your throw at the mark.”
Clarke shifted back to her original stance, the knife sinking in maybe two inches top-left of the mark. Lexa tossed the knife back and Clarke once again aimed and threw.
At the same time, a horn blasted in the distance, messing up her aim and sending the knife crashing into the bushes. Lexa looked up sharply, her eyes turning toward the mountain in the distance. Clarke followed her gaze and was startled at the orange mist descending from its sides.
“We have to hide.” Lexa scooped up the rabbit she’d pre-hunted and beckoned for Clarke to follow. “Come.”
“Wait, hold on,” Clarke said, not moving. “What is that stuff?”
“Acid fog. It burns the skin of anyone it touches. We must find shelter,” Lexa said, once again starting to move away.
“But my people! How will they know to find shelter?”
“Would you like to go back and warn them?” Lexa asked. “Your ‘dropship’ is closer to the mountain than we are. The fog moves fast. It will reach them before we could. We must save ourselves and hope for the best.”
Clarke took one look at the fog rushing toward them and knew Lexa was right. She nodded her consent and followed her away.
“So do you have a place to hide around here?” Clarke asked, struggling to keep up with the hard pace Lexa had set.
“In this area? No. We will have to find somewhere.”
They sprinted in the opposite direction of the fog, Clarke blindly following, having no idea where they were going. She felt something catch on her foot and fell to the ground with a thud. She turned to look at the orange haze in the distance and scrambled to get up.
“Come on!” Lexa grabbed her wrist and hauled her to her feet, turning to continue their sprint, but Clarke held her back. Lexa turned to yell at her but Clarke was more focused on whatever she had tripped over.
Clarke dusted the leaves away, revealing a small handle stickup up out of the ground. She grabbed it and pulled, feeling it give slightly before something began to push back. “A little help here?”
Lexa crouched beside her, grabbing the handle and pulling with all her strength. It groaned open, the rungs squealing as if it hadn’t been opened in a century and a half. Lexa seemed hesitant to go down into the unknown bunker, but another glance at the fog that was almost upon them made her relent. She slipped down and Clarke followed after her, pulling the hatch closed just as the fog swept over them.
She held onto the ladder, unsure of what was below them with no light to see in the pitch black. She heard Lexa drop onto the floor and carefully dropped as well, bending her knees to lessen the impact. She could hear Lexa shuffling around ahead of her and stretched out her hands. She felt for the walls, finding one on her right and feeling all over it. There was a switch there. She flicked it up. The overhead lights flickered for a second before shutting back off, but it gave Clarke enough time to find what she was looking for. Clarke moved carefully over to what had looked like a desk tucked against the wall, running her hands over it until she felt the rubber rim.
Lexa flinched as Clarke flicked her newly acquired flashlight on, aiming the beam into the darkness in front of them. The bunker was small, looking unused as if it had been prepared but never gotten the chance to be lived in. There was a dusty couch, a dirty bed, two small coffee tables, and a few various shelves and cabinets hung onto the walls.
Clarke sighed heavily, smacking the couch cushion and coughing through a cloud of dust before sitting down. “So. Does this sort of thing happen often?”
Lexa hovered awkwardly at the opposite end of the couch. “Perhaps twice a moon cycle. They only release it when we get too close.”
“They? This is from the maunon?” Clarke sat back against the cushions, mumbling under her breath, “damned bastards.”
“Sha, this is maunon.” Lexa finally sat down on the couch, keeping a good two feet between them. “They don’t want to risk us getting close, despite that there is only one impenetrable way in.”
“Only one? Are you sure?”
“Sha. It is a great door, one that never opens. It is many feet thick.”
“Never opens,” Clarke repeated. “If it doesn’t open, how do they get in and out? With the reapers and all?”
Lexa clicked her tongue absentmindedly on the roof of her mouth. “You suspect they have another entrance we do not know of. I suppose it’s possible. It’s not often we get very close.” She looked up with Clarke, something new shining in her eyes. “You are smart, Klark kom Skaikru. I have not thought of such an approach.”
“Really?” Clarke was surprised. “Have your leaders not sent anyone out to investigate?”
Lexa grimaced. “Nou. They have eyes in the trees. We cannot get close without meeting with ripas, maunon or the fog. Believe me, we have tried. No one has yet returned alive.”
Clarke nodded, deep in thought. The maunon obviously had tech like the Ark, they hadn’t left it behind as Lexa’s people had. She guessed the eyes were cameras, and if they could find where the cameras were and avoid them, then perhaps they could get to the mountain’s edge. If not, maybe they could try and communicate a peace with them, or at least try and understand more about them.
Clarke realized that there was so much more that they could do for Lexa and her people than she had realized. The things they had, the knowledge they held, it could be so much more helpful than any of them had thought it would be. Clarke looked at the hatch, seeing the tiny wisps of orange haze drifting in through the cracks. “I’m going to help you defeat the maunon.”
Lexa looked up at her, surprised. Clarke caught the corners of her lips twitching up into a smile before being forced back down. “I’m not sure you quite understand. The maunon cannot be defeated.”
“With what you had before, no.” Clarke lifted her wrist, her eyes searching over the tiny metal transmitter. “But with what we have, maybe they can be.”
“Doubtful. The maunon are too powerful.”
“But you’ve never had tech. They’d never think you’d have tech. If we could combine our minds, use both your people’s skills and our machines, maybe we could at least do some damage. It’s worth a try, is it not?”
Lexa couldn’t help the small grin at the thought of finally bringing down the mountain. “You are right. There is no harm in trying.”
Clarke grinned back at her. Lexa was always so serious, it was nice to get some hope out of her. Lexa’s eyes moved down to the wristband she’d been looking at. “What is the metal bracelet? All of your people have one, or had one.”
Clarke’s grin slipped as her mind returned to the delinquents. “They’re transmitters. They send our vitals back up to the people on the Ark, let them know if we’re alive, injured, dead, the likes.”
Lexa’s eyes widened slightly. “Even when your Ark is in the sky?”
“Yes. The wristbands release signals that get picked up by receivers on the station. It’s nothing that complicated.”
“If that is what you call ‘not complicated,’ I would like to know what you would consider complicated.” Lexa relaxed back into the couch, finally seeming more at ease now that the topic of the maunon had passed. “Tell me more about this ‘Ark’ of yours. You grew up on it, did you not?”
“I did.” Clarke went on to tell her about her experiences on the Ark, feeling relieved that there was finally someone she could complain to that wouldn’t immediately report her to some higher authority. Perhaps it was still too early to make judgments, but Clarke trusted the grounder girl. She just seemed so authentic. Clarke couldn’t help but admire her.
She was something new. Something she’d never seen before.
Clarke wanted more of her.

First reaction after watching Justice League
Incoherent ramblings about how great the film was. It is long and it includes spoilers.
So I just came out of Justice League and HOLY FUCKING COW! It was everything I hoped and dreamed of. I went in there to see Superman come back, be Superman and kick ass and I got that and so much more.
There were just so many cool moments! Like the horseback stunts of the Amazons at the beginning (and yes, the bikini armor is horrendous, idk whose idea was it but that costume designer should be BANNED from future female superhero projects).
Everything with Aquaman that happened in that village was cool especially the whole drink and look pretty strut into the spray of water. His relationship to the ocean (and all water in general) is awesome and I wanna see more of that in Aquaman. I feel really good about that movie now. I also adored the scene where he takes down the parademon through the building? Yea it was in the trailer but it was so much cooler in context. Also I adored the first time he saw Bruce in costume. I also thought that the lasso of truth scene was funny? Yea it is a bit problematic but I see it as a character study of the person Arthur is now, at the beginning of his hero's journey.
I liked the scene with Mera? Yea it was not the best, but I like the potential it has and I trust James Wan to take it to an interesting place.
I adored Diana. I liked how she saved everyone, I loved how she fought Steppenwolf, I loved her fist fight sequence and how she was just fast enough to dodge all those bullets, adored how she could relate to Cyborg, and also all of her badass moments. Like when she sliced through Steppenwolf's axe? It was a great callback to him taunting her with his axe being soaked in the blood of her sisters. I loved how she stepped up to lead when Batman decided to be a bloody idiot and I especially adored it when she smashed her shield with her bracelets instead of merely smashing them together. And how she, unlike Bruce actually noticed that Cyborg was spying on them. I loved how she downplayed how dangerous she can be simply because she did not want to hurt anyone (yet) so there was no need to show it off? At the same time I also liked that since she went into that self-prescribed exile she was still unsure of the full extent of her powers so she relied more on her Amazon training then on those (this is also an explanation to why her fight with Supes was so unbalanced, well, in addition to how she didn’t actually want to hurt him (like she could as she was at the moment)). I am sorry Diana, you are my second favourite, but Superman is first.  Also, every time she uses her lasso is so cool? My fav of that has to be the one during the ending when she ties up robbers with it to make them confess everything. And she went up to talk with the children! She is awesome and I will probably rave about her some more later on.
Also the bit about her getting so angry about Bruce’s taunts about Steve that she just shoved him was great. I am so happy that Diana was allowed to get angry in this film and was not just there to smile prettily. But it was nice to see that too of course. To see her come back after her self imposed isolation while she mourned Steve.
Next is, because yes he is the main attraction and I just can't hold it in any more, SUPERMAN! Yes! This and some more please! I loved how he just smacked the JL around, his comment to Bruce about Bruce not letting him neither live nor die, I loved his scene with Lois when she ran ap to him (whoever put in the line about Supes smelling ood should be crucified by the way) and I loved how he saved the JL's asses during the big finale. I loved how he just carried the whole house??? And how he froze the axe? And that he had a race with Barry?? And his smile when the children interviewed him? The only thing that bothered me was how he came back in with the line to WW "is he still bothering you?" bc it was such a jock boyfriend line?? (Yea, there are some questionable line choices in this film). Also, how he helped Cyborg pull the motherbox apart and they shared a laugh after it? Superman laughs in this one and it looks so good in him like it was just meant to be (because it was). Loved it.
And now onto Bruce. He has such a crush on both Diana and Clark??? I love it but I am not quite sure if that is what they were going for here. But that look on his face when Superman joins in on the final showdown? Also he is like a really decent mentor for Barry, like he makes sure to get him out of trouble and he has faith in him being able to step up to being a hero? Never knocks him for being inexperienced and not knowing how to fight. And you can bet your ass that the recommendation came from him. He also seems to have found his dormant sense of humour? His repeat joke about Aquaman being able to talk with fish is great. Like at first I thought that he was trying to insult him but he really believed that he can? But he also still has his asshollery on esp. in that scene with Diana where he talks about Steve (he compares Diana loosing Steve to him loosing Superman, this ship sails itself, at least from his side). His suicide plan was... Meh. It really feels like he is just tired and just started believing again and feels like the only thing he has left to give is creating the League and giving his life??
And on that note, he was ready to die in the fight against Superman as well. Which is wow. I liked how they brought back the "do you bleed" line and put a twist on it. I liked how after the battle Bruce was like, yea something is definitely bleeding. I know that some people don't think that Batman should be jokey, but I think that you kinda need to be able to joke to be able to cope with this shit for as long as he did. 20 fucking years! Holy cow.)
And now that I circled back to that fight for a bit, let me just say how cool I think it was that the whole thing started bc the power of the motherbox that created Cyborg recognized the threat that Superman posed? Loved it. The coolest part definitely was when Superman fought Barry in the .... speedforce-y thingy? (I know it was not INSIDE the speedforce, but how the hell do I describe that slow-mo-y, time stoppy thingy that illustrate Barry’s powers? Speedforce-y thingy it is)
Now back to Bruce. I love how he apologized (or at least tried to) to Diana for what he said about Steve and for poking at that wound. I love how he offered Diana that after that she can .... pretty much be Batwoman if she wants to be. Me thinks someone is rushing a bit ahead.
I also adored Bruce’s comment of “now she’s glad” when Diana said that she too is happy that Superman could be there for the fight. Yea, those two had a really good argument about whether they should bring him back or not.
Also, Lois being the “big guns” when it came to stopping Superman was just great. IDK how much time passed between Supes dying and coming back but I totally believe that Lois just didn’t care about reporting while she was mourning. To me their relationship is just... Like two people who are destined to be together and love each other a LOT but are still so new that they don’t have this “old married couple” level of comfort near each other. It is equal parts fascinating and awkward to watch mostly because I cannot decide if it is intentional or not. I felt that the writing was at its most awkward there.
Also, let’s just talk a bit about that Lois being “thirsty” joke at the beginning. What the fuck is even up with that??? Clark, were you telling your Mum about your sex life or what??? I honestly don’t know how I feel about that even though I know that I should definitely swing towards “it’s bad and degrading”. Like there are only two possible explanations for that: Martha Kent is only pretending to like Lois or Clark was talking about stuff he was not supposed to with his Mum. Also maybe the “you smell good” line was meant to be a call back for that??? IDK, it did not fit. But the most awkward thing was how Lois switched from Clark trying to describe his death to how she has let him down. I am kinda inbetween, oh she just doesn’t want to remember that he ever died and oh, she wants to make it about her??? But to be honest, how do you talk with someone who just came back from the dead??? I would probably end up apologizing for “letting them down” with how I lived while they were gone as well. As I mentioned, this relationship has some growing pains. It will get there (or at least I hope so)
And now before I move onto the last two members of the League let me just say this last (hopefully) bit about Superman: I LOVED his red cape. It popped so well, and it looked so good?? I also adored the part where he changed into his Superman outfit at the end like with the iconic pulling the shirt open? I was kinda hoping that he was walking towards a phone booth but I guess not. Still was great. He is great.  Also also, it was great to see how when he returned to being him how different he was with Barry and how he joked calling him slowpoke and all (which, let’s be honest, he probably was bc for Superman to be able to catch up to the Flash when they went for the civilians, yea Barry is definitely still not used to his speed and therefore cannot reach max speeds yet). I loved how he teased him in their mid-credits race. Well, before it really, we didn’t get to see the race itself. Shame.
Now onto Barry. He was really played as socially awkward kid who dedicated so much of his time to trying to get his dad out of prison that he just forgot to live and never really was socialized well? I liked it. I saw some people comment on the weird way he runs, and yea it is weird, but I think it is part of the fact that he is still inexperienced with his powers. I felt like he was trying to mimic at parts how athletes run but failed miserably? I am sure it will get better now that his life will include some actual running (I don’t think he was doing much of that before)
He was getting a really nice mini-hero’s journey in the film, like the first person he ever saved was shown here, how he realized that now he can actually save people and just got the hang of it instantly. He got into his first fight here, which I would count as Superman, because with the parademons he wasn’t really in the fight, he just helped WW reach her sword. (but correct me if I am wrong). And that showed bc he just kept dodging and side stepping when he fought Superman and even with the parademons he tripped? So yea, definitely inexperienced but on the right track.
And his powers look so cool? I just love how the blue lightning just lit up everything when he was using it? And when he triggered the motherbox it was so cool. I also feel like that all these super fast people just gave Snyder a really good excuse to use his slow-mo effects. It didn’t bother me, as a matter of fact I loved it whenever they just twirled the camera around these mostly frozen images.
Now, the last member of the league I haven’t talked about yet is Cyborg and I was a bit worried. The design didn’t win me over in the first place, he looked really serious, unlike in the Teen Titans cartoon, and I was not sure if I will like it. But I did because he faced with the dilemma of becoming more and more robotic and not really knowing at first how to retain his humanity and I am really happy that Diana helped him come out of that bubble he put up around himself bc that might have just saved him. Also, how he and Barry kinda became buds by the end? I really liked the graverobbing scene as well.
Now as for the other awesome stuff with Cyborg... I loved how he evolved at this rapid pace where new and new abilities manifested each day as he was being transformed. I liked how he got surprised by them when something new popped up. But the best part definitely was the hacking. Still, I think his best scene was with his father when he said something alongside the lines of how funny it is that his father thought that when he said that the people in the lab are not yet ready to see the monster his father thought he was referring to himself. That was a powerful scene.
What awesomeness I still need to throw in here is Alfred. He is so sassy and so done with Bruce being single. I loved how he told Bruce when B said maybe Alfred could have called up Diana to ask if she wants to join the team that “ yea, I could have flown to Paris with a piece of paper saying ‘do you want to be my teammate? check yes or no’” savage. He is so bitter over B being single, like how usually mothers are portrayed when they really want to have grandchildren already?? I loved it.
What else I also loved was how finally there were colours that popped? I already mentioned Superman’s cape, but his costume was brighter and bluer as well, Flash’s red costume really popped as well, Diana got a red cape as well in one scene and the lasso really emitted a bright light as well. Also, some scenes like the final battle where Diana cuts the axe and the air is full with these snowflake like particles are breathtakingly beautiful. Some others... yea, those flowers were really obviously CG.
There was also this small cameo of a Green Lantern which got me excited that maybe we will have a Green Lantern (I am hoping for either John Stewart or Jessica Cruz, pretty please)  And in the end credits we see that Jesse Eisenberg’s Luthor is on the loose again, which I love bc I liked his Luthor in BvS (yes I know that it is not accurate to comic books but screw it, it worked for me.
Now as for the stuff that might have bothered other people but barely if even registered with me: the jokes. yea, some were weak or I am not even sure if they were jokes (like Flash falling on Diana is like... was that a joke or just a portrayal of how clumsy Flash is still with his powers, his social awkwardness and his hero-crush all mashed together??? IDK). But overall, I liked them. I liked that I had moments of levity where I could laugh and have FUN. Because we still had the dramatic moments as well (and yes, they were better dramatic moments than anything Thor Ragnarök had. You wanna see too many jokes killing the drama? watch that.)
The digitally removed mustache. I did not notice it all that much?? Like there were some moments where I was like... are you sure your face is supposed to look like that? But none of those moments pulled me out of the film. Diana’s clothing was like that as well. I heard some people say that she was wearing more revealing clothing now as Diana but I was not really watching for that so I really can’t tell if it is true. What I can tell, and what bothered me is that there is a scene where her skirt as WW flies up and you can see the bottom curve of her ass really clearly and.... That bit should have been taken out and they should have done a retake. There is something like good taste people.
Steppenwolf being a kinda weak villain was like that as well. Him talking to the motherbox and calling it Mother was weird but in the good way. Made me just say, okay so this guy really is crazy. Also, he was kinda a two dimensional villain whose main goal was: amass power to become a new god (I guess) and really I was happy that we spent the time on the heroes instead of him. Evil guy tries to destroy the whole world. Got it. I don’t need more. Not from this film yet. (though now that I think about it... evil alien invasion lead buy a guy with a horned helmet that wants everyone to bow before him and has a cube... I think I saw this one before. Still works though).
I LOVED the implication that he won’t be able to fight how his parademons in the end and that they will eat him alive. See, if I would have cared for him I would have felt bad about him or at least him being kinda permanently written out but this way? Bone appetite, parademons.
I bet I could say even more, though this post is already definitely long and incoherent enough, so i will just leave with this: I ADORED this film, it will probably will be the first film I will pay to see in theatre twice. IDK what repeat viewing will do to the film but so long as I have Superman to look forward to I will be fine.  Overall, IDK if it is a better film than Thor:Ragnarök or not, but I definitely enjoyed and maybe even liked it better. I left the theathre feeling better after this film than I did after Thor Ragnarök, a film I will talk about as well.

January 30: Thoughts on 1x06: My Sister’s Keeper
Instead of eating dinner at a normal time like a normal person, or even watching TV in a normal way like a normal person, I took over an hour to watch a 40 minute episode and write these incoherent notes on it.
Okay, so the flashback saying seventeen years ago implies Octavia is seventeen, and here I was, pretty darn sure she was supposed to be sixteen as of the pilot. Not super sure how I got that idea but regardless, I actually do like it better, it makes somewhat more sense to me.
Aurora’s a pretty terrible person and tbh I wish the show had just gone there 1000%, more along the lines of the books. Like this show is so weak sometimes. Not that making her son an accomplice to a crime and telling him that making sure neither his sister nor mother is brutally murdered by the state is his sole responsibility isn’t bad enough but like...they could have gone harder on just how screwed up this situation is.
I guess since the massacre in S3 no one gives a fuck about Bellamy throwing away the radio but I remember when it used to be the Hugest Deal Ever that he did that (a laugh btw), and isn’t it funny how the very next episode starts out Hardcore Humanizing him by showing him as a small child just trying to take care of his sibling??
“It’s Octavia. She’s probably chasing butterflies.” Girl does that one time and it’s like her only character trait. I feel like ‘being a petulant brat’ should overshadow it but okay. (I don’t even dislike Octavia, I just think ‘butterfly chaser’ is more of an anomaly than a primary character trait.)
Lincoln’s mancave: OMG he has paper bound books and something that looks like a toy car?!? I’ve never noticed this before.
Generally though everything about Lincoln’s introduction (kidnapping Octavia, chaining her up, and most importantly refusing to speak to her in her language even though he’s fucking fluent in it) tells me that the writers cared 100% about drama and suspense and 0% about believability or long-term character consistency, which is part of why I have a hard time giving them the benefit of the doubt ever. Sorry.
First appearance of Monroe. Like 20 years after the pilot, sorry again but I still don’t believe she was cast that early and didn’t show up in a single frame for 5 whole episodes.
Never forget that Jasper was known for, what, weeks maybe, as the kid who can’t leave camp. Also I miss Jasper + Octavia friendship stuff tbh. Totally underrated.
Finn was considered a good tracker, that was like his one skill. Literally.
Raven’s so beautiful.
I know I always say I don’t hate Finn and then I badmouth Finn but like it’s so hard to see the connection between Finn and Raven and I’m trying, sincerely, but...I don’t know. Maybe it’s the fandom. Maybe it’s the annoying way he tells Clarke he’s “not sure” they can stop having an affair when, like, she literally just told him, she’s not going to have an affair and that’s totally the sort of thing one can choose to do or not do. Hard to tell.
Jasper is bi headcanon continuously constantly confirmed. “Finn? We’re not gonna find her with you?”
Bellamy is looking particularly beautiful in this episode. If no one has giffed his face when he finds the skeleton graveyard, someone should do that.
Speaking of: skeleton graveyard! That’s the kind of creepy shit I like. No idea what tf it is or why it’s there but it’s cool as heck.
So Bellamy braves the skeleton yard because O’s his sister, obviously, and Jasper because he likes her, and Finn because IDK gotta be a hero or something, but you know who else goes with them when all the little boys get scared and leave? Monroe. Boom. Another wasted character.
Aurora: “Fear is a demon. Close your eyes and tell yourself you’re not afraid. That is how you slay the demon.” Bellamy is such a wide-eyed innocent. He’s just trying so hard.
I stand by my theory that class disparity on the Ark has little to do with material wealth but I will admit the Blakes have a much shittier housing unit than the Griffins, the Chancellor, or anyone in Alpha based on the S3 quarters.
I still ship Clarke/Raven something fierce; I miss scenes like this one where they...you know...interact. I love that Raven loves flowers and thinks Abby’s a badass and I also love that they either walked all night or stopped to rest and ended up (literally) sleeping together.
The Grounders are obviously lame as a whole but even I am impressed by their sneak attacks. RIP other John.
Okay also by the way: the Grounders only attacked when the kids crossed the skeleton line, or as this helpful exposition points out, when they “crossed the boundary.” In other words, as of now, the total Grounder interaction with the Sky Kids has been: spearing Jasper when he crossed a boundary, (possibly rogue) spying, having their spy go (extra?) rogue and kidnap someone, and killing a couple more kids when they crossed another boundary (this one admittedly more clearly marked). So far, almost halfway through season 1, the Grounders really do not seem to give a fuck about the Delinquents. I really don’t think this ever had anything to do with land. I think if the kids were on Tri Kru land this entire time they would have been wiped out in Episode 2.
Anya will of course later cite the destruction of the Grounder village by the flares. Retaliation seems to come pretty late for that lol (I’ll have to watch, actually--DO they ever retaliate for that?), but at least it’s a definite, though accidental, form of aggression.
Okay, wow, it is canon that Bellamy and Octavia are from the section that would have been quietly killed in the original culling plan; it says Section 17 on their door.
Octavia’s first walk through the Ark is really beautiful though. Lovely sequence.
I love how they have their dance...in a hallway? Like undergrad parties in the atrium in Main.
How completely overwhelming and magical to be Octavia in that moment though, like she‘s literally only met 2 people her entire life and now she’s around all of these other kids, just dancing and having fun.
(Also it still bugs me what tf is behind Jasper’s goggles in this scene why I do obsess over random shit? And yet. Also also he’s 14 in that flashback what a trip.)
Lincoln’s neck thing with the skull hands on it is one of my favorite pieces of Grounder wardrobe.
I wonder if Lincoln doesn’t speak because in his head he’s like ‘oh shit, I’m in so much trouble, what the fuck am I doing, this is such a bad idea.’
I feel like they should have started figuring out that Jasper has some Pretty Big Issues sometime around here: can’t leave camp, starts screaming for Grounders to kill them, etc. Funny how no one is suspicious about this.
I find it semi-weird that the response to a solar flare is to start taking names, like--this makes me think there was no solar flare, this is just a trick of the totalitarian state. I mean “you know the drill, masks off, id chips out” sounds like this happens a lot--random person inspections just like random housing inspections. Also what is an “ID chip”? I feel like this is something you carry but you know what would have been cooler? Something in your skin. But this is a Fake Sci Fi show so they’re not going to go that route.
Was Bellamy going to “create a distraction” for O using police brutality?
Major props to make up making Marie Avgeropolous, a woman pushing 30 at the time this was filmed, look like she’s actually 15/16 years old.
Bellamy’s realization that O doesn’t know how to get home breaks my heart EVERY DAMN TIME.
This is definitely the moment when Shumway picked Bellamy to be his Chancellor assassin.
It’s not funny, but Finn, Bell, Jasper, and Monroe squeezed under a tent together just looks like the most awkward sleepover ever. Which is to say it is pretty funny.
No commentary, only respect, for the Clarke + Raven discuss Finn scene, but: “Do you love him?” / “I hardly know him” is gold because, yeah, she does hardly know him, and even though Finn would 10000% think otherwise, level headed people like Clarke know what’s what. (Aside: I actually think she was lying to him when she killed him--or that she meant ‘love’ in the general sense, the same way she loves, say Monty or Octavia or any delinquent. But that’s just me.)
I feel a little cheated over a proper Jasper/Octavia hug tbh.
LOL at Jasper wanting to take the knife out of Finn. “Mom, Dad said I couldn’t take the knife out...”
Next time on The 100: Raven and Clarke work together to save the life of a boy who two-timed them both. Then they fall in love.
Bellamy and Clarke and leadership, since I’m semi-trying to develop a theory here: nothing really about leadership in this ep. Clarke seems initially to be heading up the search party with Bell, but then she goes with Raven and has basically the C-Plot. From the point of view of the delinquents, in this ep, Bellamy is definitely the leader (again) and Clarke is the doctor.

First Do No Harm (a no-spoilers Justice League Review)
Remember how on my last review (Murder on the Orient Express) I said I was expecting to say “well, that was a movie” about Justice League as well?
Well…. I *GUESS* that was a movie… I mean… there were pictures and stuff… and they moved. Does that qualify? I’ve been going back and forth about the new Justice League film since I walked out of the theater. In fact, even before that while it was going on. Did I like it? Well…  not really. Did I not like it? Not really. Was it awful? Not really. Was it good? Certainly not! I’m not even sure it’s fair to say it’s “fine.” That seems like giving it more credit than it deserved. But I can’t say it was a disappointment either. It just sort of “was.”
Is that good enough? I’m not sure.
For all the failures of the DCEU, the one thing that Warner has done well, I think, is build towards a good managing of expectations. In a lot of the build-up to this, I’ve seen a lot of people saying stuff like “it doesn’t have to be good. I’ll take fine.” And a lot of the reviews said stuff like “the best the DCEU has had other than Wonder Woman” or “finally DC is on the right track.” And those are the good reviews.
But are they? Are they really? Or have they just lowered expectations to the point where you go in and say “well, that’s a DC movie. I guess that’s it.”
I will say that it is 100% better than Batman v. Superman. It is not remotely the train wreck that was. It is probably better than Suicide Squad as well, from a technical narrative point of view, though I thought that was more “fun.” It is certainly not as good as Wonder Woman.
The one thing it really excelled at doing was not offending me. And it’s weird that that’s an accomplishment. But I guess it kind of is. Early in his career, Conan O’Brien once said about his original late night show that he wasn’t trying to be the best. He was really just trying to hold on to as much of the after-Leno audience as he could and since he figured most people had fallen asleep during The Tonight Show his main goal was just to “not wake anyone up and make them turn off the TV.” That’s what I think the goal was here. “Let’s not get anyone to really hate us.” And I didn’t. There were no glaring plot holes. Murderous rampages by good guys were avoided. The movie didn’t stop midway to show trailers for other movies. There was no convoluted subplot involving a world class super-villain trying to trick a US senator into drink his pee (if you haven’t seen BvS… congratulations).
Of course, there wasn’t much else either. I don’t want to say nothing happened. A LOT happened. Probably way too much. There’s a LOT of plot in this. The storyline is convoluted and there are a lot of moving pieces to keep track of. Luckily, it’s pretty easy because this is a story you’ve seen before. Several times. In a lot of superhero movies. There’s not really any interesting tweaks to this. It doesn’t say anything new. I can talk spoilers in the comments if anyone cares, but basically… you’ve seen this story before. This EXACT story. You’ve seen it better, but you’ve also seen it worse. But you’ve never seen it with Batman. And well… here’s your chance.
And that’s really what you’re getting here. You’re getting “the plot from that super team movie” only this time with “the DC heroes from that cartoon you watched as a kid.” And I hope you watched those cartoons as a kid, because if you didn’t… there’s not much reason to care about any of the reasons here. There are a lot of characters, and they aren’t really explained at all. Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman (yeah, if you think this is a spoiler, tough shit… his symbol is on the poster and he’s been in the trailers) are what they are. They’ve had other movies and the film just assumes “you get it.” Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg are given VERY minimal introductions. We learn a little bit about each of them. Flash is a little more fleshed out… in that the film sort of assumes some variation of his TV show origin, even though he is an entirely different character.  Aquaman and Cyborg… well, hopefully you read comics or have a friend you can ask questions to.
It’s almost as though this is just a comic or TV show in the middle of a series. There’s more or less an assumption that the universe was in progress… a universe similar to the one from BvS but pretending that a lot of the mistakes from that film simply didn’t happen. And if you aren’t clued into that universe, the film isn’t going to help you. Try to keep up.
But again. It’s not awful. There are some genuinely funny moments, especially from Ezra Miller as the Flash. There are some other “funny moments” that don’t land at all. The acting is mostly fine. Ben Affleck has been burned one time too many, so he just seems to take the script as it is. Gal Gadot doesn’t shine as much as she did in her solo film. Ray Fisher really doesn’t have enough to do. He’s mostly a very bad CGI character (the effects are NOT great in this movie) and since the movie doesn’t tell you much about Cyborg, he’s more plot device than anything. Jason Momoa and Ezra Miller seem to be so happy to be there that is actually kind of charming. Amber Heard is also… there… And I defy anyone who isn’t already a comic fan to see this movie and then explain to me what her purpose is. Or even what her character’s name is without reading the credits. The same goes for Steppenwolf. What’s his deal? What’s his story (and the film even tells you this one… sort of).
And that’s the shame of it. It’s barely a “movie.” It’s a collection of scenes that check off all of the boxes that are needed to “bring a comic to the screen” and tries to avoid a bunch of the “and for the love of God, please don’t do this!” checkboxes. And for the most part it does. Unlike the last time all of these characters were onscreen together, this doesn’t shit on the legacy of the fans. This is the “first do no harm” approach to filmmaking, and the reason this succeeds is that for the most part, they don’t.
Is that good enough? Maybe. This is why I complained about the “this is for the fans” argument before. Fans will accept a good movie or a bad one. So you might as well make a good one, because then perhaps you can generate more fans. That’s not going to happen here. There is absolutely no reason to pay to see this movie unless you are already a fan of the characters and you want to see them engage in superhero plot number three… just to see it (and yeah, in my head I have an idea of what at least the first five stock superhero plots are). If you’re stuck with the franchise this long… well, you should know what you’re getting by now. But this not going to turn anyone who isn’t already a fan onto the franchise. But hopefully, it probably won’t lose any either. And that’s at least a step up.
★★¼☆☆+🎶 (2.25 out of 5 stars plus a bonus for having a score that features the kickass Wonder Woman theme song AND the Batman theme from the 1989 movie)
