truly love how you can develop friendships with your tumblr mutuals and interact with them outside of a tumblr context and meet them in real life and they'll still continue to call you by the name that you use on tumblr
#like i remember this summer when my best friend and alex and hope met and my best friend used my irl name#and BOTH alex and hope were shocked 💀 like i'd left the three of them to go do something and THAT'S when they discovered it#and i get why hope was shocked because we'd known each other on tumblr for at least a year before we met#but with alex i met her first and then became tumblr mutuals almost a year later but we used to talk on instagram and still she would#call me soni 💀 and even after finding out and being shocked and feigning feeling betrayed they still continue to call me soni jfjfjfkdkdk

Hi kiddos. Alex here. I know nobody asked for this but goddamn, I just needed to get it out of my chest and out of my head because today has been bad.
Nobody wants another sad story but there it goes. I was never a sports person until my best friend made me sit in front of our TV to watch twenty guys go around in circles driving fast cars. She spent her childhood watching Fernando race, so I just sat there without understanding shit. We were in deep shit in every single possible way, so I didn't complain about it because she was happy to do it.
It was the worst summer of our lives for too many reasons, but we spent those weekends watching YouTube videos about F1 to cheer ourselves up. It was really really really bad, but for a while that made it better. I can even point to the exact two moments I fell in love with Dan during those days. The first episode of DTS when he says he is a mechanic and the McL*ren snacks video where he had the goddamn Let's fuck ring. It was instant love. That was the moment my brain yelled "Yup, that's my guy". I also remember the first time I saw him. It was during the Hungary GP red flag after Valtteri destroyed everything that moved. I saw Dan standing beside the car looking at the damage and I remember thinking “Goddamn” because it was a mess.
I went from not being a sports fan to absolutely getting obsessed with it and with him. I remember Monza weekend like it was yesterday, grabbing my bestie’s hand after the sprint and saying “NO BUT YOU DONT GET IT” because he wasn’t going to start P3 but P2. I used part of our savings to get that pink shirt because it meant the world that weekend. I used part of my salary to buy an old school yellow Renault Dan shirt with my first job after not working for months thanks to covid. We were the most irresponsible people ever and we spent all our savings buying tickets to the race here in Barcelona the next year because it became my dream to actually see Dan racing in front of me. It was worth every single cent because it was a privilege to see him racing not once but twice.
The thing is, that curly Aussie man brought me the biggest smile on the worst days. He put a smile on my face when probably nothing else could. He gave me some of my biggest happy moments and some of the worst headaches and heartbreaks of the last four years. He even got me the motivation to write again after centuries of not doing it even when I love it probably more than anything else. He gave me my friends because I would never have met them if it wasn’t for our mutual love for him.
Dan is magically was the reason why @honeybadgercomeback appeared at the exact time I needed them the most. Heaven knows this needs a special mention because holyshit I love Ciara so much it's ridiculous. They stood by my side and listened to me cry for hours and stayed there when anxiety kicked me in the ass. They decided to write a whole story with me and create an entire world out of it. It's my pride and joy to do it. They even opened the doors of her family and home when I was about to explode and there aren't enough words to thank you. They're really the Blake to my Dan and heaven knows nobody will ever do it like we do. We have planned the whole thing to watch Austin together at my place next month, and even today they stood by my side when I said I couldn't watch it if Dan's not there. If that's not love then I don't know, kids.
It breaks my heart. I can't explain how badly I cried today about all this mess. The way the press and his own teams have treated him over the last couple of years is unfair. To see him leave like this is unfair. I absolutely hate it, but this is so incredibly unfair and wrong that I just reached the point where I found myself actually saying to myself that I just hope he retires and gets home to his family. I just reached the point where I’m exhausted by the sport I love so much and goddamn I’m not even planning to watch the rest of the races if he is not there. To see him crying in the media pen broke my heart, and I can't. Even then I truly hope this is not the last one. I just want to see him in Austin again. I really want him to have the farewell he deserves.
All this to say goddamn, how I love Daniel. I'm thankful for the last four years of love I got from seeing that lanky man on my TV doing what he loves. He means more to me than I could ever say. I love him more than words can express. He'll always be my guy. He'll always be my baby. God, I would go to the end of the world and to war for that man. Whatever happens next I just hope he is at peace after all this mess, because after fourteen years he bloody deserves it.

Waiting Game
it's an extremely hot summer in the south of Europe, as your new housemate gives your summer an interesting turn
mentions of alcohol + unprotected sex
word count 9.3k
note: I loved creating this, I hope you will enjoy the read babes, mwah 💗
Slowly you started to drift out of sleep, as strong sunrays were starting to heat up your bare face. You turned some more, sinking even deeper into your sheets. Not a clue what time it is was, not completely sure what day it was either. You carelessly yawned and stretched your luckily, by now tanned arms before sitting up to take in the sight of the sunny streets of the Algarve. The white linen curtains that were messily hanging in front of the big window kept flowing as the slow, warm summer breezes increased and decreased. Heaven.
This was your happy place. You were finally back where you felt most at home, where you could breathe and let go of everything, of all the chaos that was going on in your life. Daily surrounded and loved by a dozen of newmade friends, as well as a few old ones, all sharing one huge house. It felt much like an out-of-control school trip; but deciding to leave your hometown behind and move to Portugal about a year and a half ago was really the best decision you ever made. Every single day you were grateful to be here, with the people you had considered your family.
Your peaceful process of waking up got cut short when you heard knocks on the other side of your door. ‘’Y/N?’’
‘’Are you awake?’’ The door slowly opened, the squeaking sounds making you look up. ‘’Hey, good morning Alex.’’ You yawned. ‘’Not much of a morning left’’ Alex, one of your closer friends, laughed as he sat down on the bed beside you.
‘’What do you want?’’ you laughed.
‘’I need you today, like the whole day.’’
‘’Why?’’
‘’I…Uh… I just want to hang with my friend, can I?’’ He mumbled.
You furrowed your brows, looking right through your friend of 8 years.
‘’Okay fine, if you insist.’’ Alex laughs. ‘’I might have asked someone out.’’
‘’Spill.’’
‘’I asked Lara out, but trust me…’’
‘’Lara that can’t stand me Lara?’’ you rolled your eyes, before grinning back at Alex.
‘’That should be the one. You don’t mind, do you?’’
You remember the girl so vividly, and frankly, much to your displease. She is a local who met some of the boys who lived with you during a night out, but always appeared to be super jealous of the girls. You never really understood why, as you and the three other girls that were living in the house had done nothing but try to make friends with her. You gave up, eventually.
‘’No, but what do you need me for? You do realize it’s my first week of vacation, right?’’
‘’I just need you to help me prepare and all. You know, usual stuff.’’
‘’You sound like a girl.’’
‘’Whatever, at least I can say I’m not like those idiots you’ve been dating.’’ Alex teases you. ‘’At least I prepare.’’
You roll your eyes again and let yourself fall back against the headrest of your bed, trying to dismiss the subject as soon as possible as you really didn’t want to think about your past ‘’relationships’’, nor about your current one, to be fair.
‘’By the way, a guy is moving in here today. I don’t think you know him.’’ Alex said as he played with the stitches of the white sheets that were covering you.
‘’I don’t?’’ You cheekily open one eye to peek at your friend.
Over the years, you had gotten to know so many people who had been moving in and out of the house you’re currently living in. Some of them ended up being lovers and moved out, while others would move out for different reasons and come back afterwards, as no one was originally from Portugal. All sorts of relationships bloomed from your friend group, and nothing was really ever labelled as ‘’strange’’ by anyone. The lack of judgement was something you loved more than anything. Everyone had the complete freedom to be themselves, unfiltered.
‘’Yeah, he was living here for a while and moved out right before you moved in. You might have heard of him, though. His name is Lewis.’’
‘’It doesn’t ring a bell at all.’’ You thought hard at the name, but there was nothing. No one had ever mentioned him, nor had you ever noticed him on photos or any material things that have been laying around the house.
‘’He didn’t really talk much, usually kept to himself a lot. He’s quite much like you in that department.’’
‘’Great, another introvert.’’ You sighed.
‘’Don’t worry, he is cool, he’s a friend of mine and Bruno. Apart from us, I think no one else really knows him. Maybe Lari does though.’’
You zoned out a little, unsure of where your own thoughts went. The way Alex had been describing him was interesting, so to speak.
‘’Anyway.’’ Alex spoke as he got up from the bed. ‘’Get dressed, I’ll drive. I know exactly where to go.’’
‘’Okay, I’ll be ready in about fifteen minutes.’’ You said as Alex closed your bedroom door behind him, leaving you to get ready.
You got up and took a simple shirt and some light-colored jeans from your closet and threw on some black slippers, as well as your every-day jewelry. You were not in the mood at all to get dressed, and as you’d probably be dragged behind Alex all day under the hot sun, this would work just fine. You freed your hair of the tie that was keeping it in a bun, leaving it down messily. It was summer… who’d care about it anyways?
Not long after, you were walking out with Alex, him opening the front door of the house for you. You carefully walked down the steep stairs, completely blinded by the sunlight for the first couple of seconds, before hearing Alex’ enthusiastic yelling for his friend.
‘’Lewis!’’ Alex shouted, in complete shock and surprise. Has he arrived here sooner than planned or something?
You could see clear now. Your eyes had immediately fell locked on the stranger. You were trying your hardest to look away, but the already impossible task got harder by the second.
‘’Hey man, good to finally see you!’’ The mysterious boy spoke, full of joy.
Lewis had just arrived, still carrying his bag over his shoulder, as he looked his old friend up and down.
‘’How’s it going?’’ He smiled so radiantly, it made you want to smile too, if you weren’t completely mesmerized by the strangers’ beauty.
‘’Good, good, I want to hear everything, we have to sit down tonight. Beers?’’ Alex asked full of enthusiasm, while Lewis’ eyes had meanwhile fell on you. You had turned your face towards the sun for a moment, as you nervously combed your hair with your hand, hoping the breeze that was flowing through your long locks would miraculously fix them. You could feel how his gaze on you had made you stiff up your legs to fix your posture, already doing your best to try not to look awkward.
‘’By the way, Lewis, this is Y/N. She moved in just a while after you, you probably just missed each other. ‘’
‘’Pity.’’ Lewis spoke, as he took a step towards you, making your heart pound in your throat. ‘’Hi there, I’m Lewis.’’ He spoke softly, as he put down his bags on the pavement and got close to you, gesturing that he wanted to greet you properly. ‘’May I?’’ he almost whispered, unintentionally sending electrical waves through your body. You nodded.
Lewis came closer, before putting his hand on your waist and placing three feather-light kisses on your cheeks, while slightly pressing his thumb into your skin. The last kiss, you could swear he was making it last as long as he possibly could. His smell and warmth that you immediately felt in those short seconds made it hard for you to speak.
‘’I’m Y/N.’’ you managed to speak without fumbling your words.
‘’I know.’’ Lewis smiled. ‘’I’ve heard a lot about the prettiest girl living around here, they weren’t wrong.’’ He said confidently.
You gave him a shy smile.
‘’Okay, good that you guys met, we have enough time for chit chat later.’’ Alex hastily spoke as he tried to pull you out of the captivating looks that the both of you were keeping each other in.
‘’Let’s go, Y/N.’’ He said as he hurried to grab your wrist, pulling you towards his parked car. ‘’Lewis, we’ll see you tonight man. Help yourself to anything you need.’’ Alex quickly spoke over his shoulder.
He opened the passenger side’s door for you, and you slowly, almost unwillingly lowered yourself in the car, trying your hardest not to look back at Lewis. While you waited for Alex to take his place, you couldn’t help it anymore. Your eyes locked with Lewis once more, sending you the same electrifying feeling all over your body. He smiled at you with a vaguely promising look in his eyes, and you knew he felt the same.
A few moments later, Alex was driving you down the street, towards the city. ‘’So, she probably likes if I wear that black shirt, and pick her up earlier than planned, don’t you think…?’’
You did hear Alex talk, it just, for some reason wasn’t really reaching you.
‘’Y/N!’’
You were suddenly interrupted from your thoughts completely, coming back to reality.
‘’I’m sorry, I uh…’’
‘’Where are your thoughts at?’’ Alex turned his face towards you, slightly annoyed.
‘’Nobody…Um…Nowhere.’’
‘’Very convincing.’’
You were still a bit daydreaming about ten minutes deep in the car ride, but how could you not be? He had the most beautiful skin, and that radiant smile? Those tattoos? Loose blonde curls hanging down his face, and a body that was practically screaming perfection. You tried your best to steer your thoughts elsewhere, to your friend who needed you.
‘’Yeah, I’m sorry about that. Where are we going exactly?’’
‘’I need roses for her and some groceries, so we’ll just go downtown, okay?’’
‘’Roses, huh? So, you’re a bit serious about her then, no?’’ You grinned at your friend.
‘’I don’t know, I might be later on…I don’t want to ruin my chances before they even begin, you know.’’ Alex sighed.
‘’That’s good, Alex. I’m happy one of us gets to date properly.’’ You said as you sunk a bit deeper into your seat, earning a cheeky smile from your friend.
You had arrived at the old city, where you would spend the entire afternoon. Alex had gotten Lara the most beautiful bouquet of flowers, with your help. There was no way she’d not like them, you thought. Slowly and enjoying the hot July sun as much as possible, you made your way from place to place, stopping here and there and ending the afternoon with a quick food break. ‘’So, feeling well prepared enough?’’ you ask your friend after he had ordered the two of you lunch. White pasta, with your favorite tiramisu desert after. Small gestures like your friends remembering your favorite foods, never failed to make you feel lucky and thankful. To be here, in this beautiful restaurant, with your biggest current problem being your friends date… It was almost dream-like.
‘’I’m a bit scared of her, to be honest.’’ Alex speaks into his glass.
‘’Scared?’’
‘’Yeah, she’s kind of… wild. For example, every time we go out and she’s around she ends up being completely drunk. I even wonder how she makes it home safe every time.’’
‘’I see…Where are you guys going anyway?’’
‘’I’m inviting her over for dinner tonight. We’ll just see where the night ends.’’
‘’I won’t disturb you.’’ You smirked at him, twirling your spaghetti around your fork, trying to stir your mind away from where it was going. Or better said, to whom it was going.
‘’You’ll be disturbed enough I think.’’ Your friend chuckles.
‘’How so?’’ You replied dryly.
‘’Nothing.’’ Alex raised his brows as he laughed and grabbed his phone, you knew he wanted you to bite, but you knew better.
‘’Whatever.’’
It was around 7 PM when you came back home, helping your friend carry the groceries inside. ‘’Hey, let me help you with those.’’ You heard a kind voice behind you, as you turned around and saw Lewis come down the stairs. ‘’Thank you, you’re a life saver.’’ You smiled at him as he released your arms from the heavy bags you were holding, placing them on the kitchen counter. You tried your hardest not to stare at his exposed, tan arms as they were easily lifting the heavy bags. ‘’Did you have fun?’’ he asked.
‘’Yeah’’ you said as you quickly looked the other way, trying to act as normal as possible. ‘’I just helped your friend a bit, preparing for his date and all. Uhm, did you manage here? Are you getting settled?’’
Lewis smiled at your caring face, reassuring you that he is just fine. ‘’I’m back in my old room, and I think there is no place on earth where I’d rather be right now.’’
‘’Oh, I’d love to hear all about that?’’ You spoke, genuinely interested. ‘’Which room is yours?’’
‘’First floor, last door on the right.’’
‘’You’re on the same floor, just, mine is the first left.’’ You don’t know why you felt the need to tell him where you sleep.
Lewis smiled at you, making you blush.
‘’Do you have plans tonight?’’
‘’Not really, my summer break has just started.’’ You said. ‘’I planned to just do some reading and relax in the garden, but it’s probably gonna be a full house tonight.’’ You sighed.
‘‘Not really your thing, huh?’‘ Lewis surprisingly read your mind.
‘‘I feel like tonight might turn out to be not so bad, so I am sticking around.’‘ You smiled at him. ‘’Don’t worry, i’m not leaving you out to dry here.’’
‘’I feel honored.’’ He said, smiling while he began putting the groceries away in the cabins, making you realize he knows this house just as well as you do. Even better, maybe. He was leaning against the kitchen counter by now, staring at you. For some strange reason, you started to feel awfully calm around him. You didn’t bother to appear to be busy, you just looked back at him. ‘’So, are you going to tell me about yourself, then?’’ You asked.
‘’Everything you’d like to know.’’ He spoke before licking his lips.
You chuckled and lightly shook your head, before walking off to find your friend, as you promised you’d help him prepare for tonight.
Alex and Lara had joined you later in the evening, as well as basically the rest of the house, leaving you and Lewis parted from each other. He was sat across from you, catching up with some of the guys. Laughing, drinking together. It made you happy to see how fast he was finding his way again, but then again, you wouldn’t expect any different from your housemates. You glanced back at him, still couldn’t figure out how it was humanly possible to be this perfect.
‘’So, what are your plans for your holidays?’’ the first ever friend you made in the house, Lari, said as she came to sit down next to you. There was no one you’d rather have near you now, she always had this calming effect on you. Probably exactly what you needed right now.
She knew you very well, you didn’t have to explain to her how you felt about your new-old housemate at all. And it turned out she knew the stranger who you had taken quite the interest in. Lari herself was in a relationship with Patricia, and you considered them to be like your older sisters, as you were the youngest in the entire house.
‘’I’ll have to see, babe. Maybe stay here and just chill.’’ You spoke, as you noticed Lewis had started to pay attention to your side of the table.
‘’Nao nao nao, Y/N, venha comigo… please come to Brazil with us?’’ Lari fake cried while wrapping her arms around you and resting her head on your shoulders.
‘’Yeah, there’s absolutely no way I’m spending my free days third-wheeling.’’ You chuckled.
Lewis had noticed, and you could tell he tried to hide a smile, much to your surprise. Before long, he got up, making his way towards you. ‘’Join me outside?’’ he asked, smiling down at you. You caught Lari winking at you. Basically, gesturing for you to get up.
You did and followed him to the terrace on the first floor of the house, overlooking a rather big yard. It was messily lit up, but it looked perfect.
The two of you sat down on the old, white chairs as Lewis started asking you about your personal life. ‘’You haven’t dated much?’’ He asked, clearly not believing you.
‘’You know that I’ve been with Bruno for years, right?’’ You didn’t necessarily want to mention that you were dating Lewis’ best friend of years in this house, but either he already knew, or it was going to come up sooner or later, anyways. It was better that he heard it from you. Makes you look a bit more detached too, you figured.
‘’Yeah, I can’t deny that I’d date him too.’’
You laughed at his joke, before looking at Lewis’ face to realize that he was not laughing.
‘’Okay.’’ You said before trying to shake the thing off. ‘’I’m gay, Y/N.’’
He completely took you by surprise. What? How? Him? You didn’t even process it, or even have the time to feel bad about it, you just didn’t want to make Lewis feel bad.
‘’Oh, that’s… okay, completely okay. I’m sorry, I just didn’t know.’’ You spoke as apologetic as you possibly could, you hoped he wouldn’t notice your flushing red cheeks. One could only hope that there was no sad tone in your voice, it would have been even more of an embarrassment.
Lewis waited a few moments before slightly lowering his head to meet your gaze, laughing at your apology. ‘’I’m just joking’’ he chuckled.
‘’But’’ a more serious, content tone spilled out of him.
‘’Now I know how you’d feel about that.’’ He almost whispered, as he leaned closer towards you.
Oh no.
‘’What? What are you talking about? I wouldn’t mind if you were gay.’’ You stumbled shyly, trying your best to keep your cool as if your heart wasn’t beating the shit out of your ribcages by now.
You knew Lewis was looking right through you, which made you blush even more. He looked back towards the garden, clearly content with what he had just learned.
After a while, Lewis gets up and gives you a hand, pulling you up from your seat. ‘’What are you doing?’’ You ask.
‘’It’s late. And you should get some well-deserved sleep.’’
‘’You saw Alex’s date, right?’’ you smirk at him. ‘’I don’t think I’m getting sleep any time soon.’’
Lewis raises one eyebrow, and then realizes what you’re talking about. ‘’I see’’. He says and clicks his tongue, clearly making up some plan in his head. "Now how can we fix that for you?"
Unsure of what to say, you just raised your eyebrows to express an "I don't know" face and slightly turned away from Lewis.
‘’Well, I can waste more of your time if you desire. Get you all tired so you can sleep like a baby.’’
‘’How?’’ You asked, genuinely surprised.
‘’Just however you like’’. He says, smiling you down.
Suddenly you realize that you barely know him, and no matter how much you two are getting along already, he is still a stranger. You figured it’s better to just keep it cool.
‘’Uhm, I think I should let you rest… You’re the one who’s had a long day, and you just arrived… I’m sorry, I completely lost track of time.’’
Lewis frowned his eyebrows at you, and you’re unsure of what to even make of this. ‘’I just meant that I don’t want to be the one keeping you up, uh, you know?’’ You stumble. All of a sudden, all shy for him, again.
‘’You’re so crazy.’’ Lewis tells you as he steps closer towards you, putting his hand on your cheek, lightly lifting up your face, so you’re forced to face his. ‘’You really think I’d prefer sleeping over this?’’
He really is daring. How does he just take what he wants and gets away with it, too?
‘’You might.’’ You smirk. Lewis suddenly loosens his grip on you, as if he had just realized the same as you did. This wasn’t going to end well, and the both of you had to slow it down.
‘’Let me take you to your room.’’ Lewis spoke confidently, the words making your heart jump out of its’ place. He noticed the shocked expression on your face and let out a smile. ‘’You’re going to sleep, little lady.’’ He reassured you.
Walking beside him even felt powerful, for some reason. Your heart was beating faster and faster, the nearer you came to your bedroom door and shockingly, the house is fairly quiet. Lari is probably back in her room with Patricia, Alex is in his with Lara and the rest of the house is most likely out for the night. It gives you peace of mind, though. No one is coming to you tonight, and you can process Lewis slowly while you’re in bed, you figured. Let everything sink in and probably do some fan-girling about the most gorgeous creature you had ever seen.
Lewis turns back to you, meanwhile opening your door behind him, gesturing for you to go inside. ‘’So, I really, really, really loved meeting you. Everyone was right about you.’’
‘’What’s that?’’ You chuckle as you enter your bedroom, and after some steps set your eyes back on his.
Lewis is now leaning against the entrance of your bedroom, glancing into your eyes before smiling at the ground. He looks grateful, for some reason. It suits him. How is he so damn beautiful again?
He takes a deep sigh before speaking.
‘’You’re for sure the most beautiful girl, but it’s far from your best feature.’’ He speaks, pointing his eyes back up at yours.
‘’I think sleep is getting to you now.’’ You laugh. ‘’Go, I’ll see you tomorrow.’’
You walk over to him, place a kiss on his cheek and close the door behind you, before resting your back against the closed door. What a day.
The next morning, you woke up around 7 AM, lazy and still half asleep you made your way down to the kitchen. ‘’Make me some too?’’ Lewis’ sleepy voice filled the empty kitchen. Shocked, you dropped the hot cup of tea you were holding. ‘’Hey! Watch it!’’ He shouted. He quickly made his way to you, in no time his big hands grabbed your wrists, before opening the cold water tap to cool your hands down.
Nervously you looked down at your slightly red-burnt hands, slowly realizing what had happened. You tried to figure out why he startled you so much, but it was no use. You knew better, and you knew you were in denial.
You had just realized that you were wearing nothing but a tiny silken mini-short and a small cropped top that you had been sleeping in. You made a mental note to start paying attention to what you’d wear, with your new housemate around. It was not a good look, especially with Bruno not here. You sighed. What was he even going to think of all this? Bruno was your boyfriend for years, and one of your best friends. You loved him dearly but it was just so… boring. There was love, but the idea of having that dull prep-school-boy-sex was just not doing it for you anymore. There was no challenge, no excitement left between the two of you. He kept you waiting for over a year, as he thought you were too young for it, only to find that the lust you had for him had slowly been dying all along.
At the same time, the realization that you were much younger than him (and Lewis) always made him vote for you to ‘’live’’, as he would call it. Experience whatever you could. You knew he probably would be all for you seeing Lewis, but it still made you feel bad for some reason.
‘’It’s fine.’’ You mumbled before walking back towards your room. It was so early; you could easily sleep for a couple more hours. Also, you really weren’t awake enough yet to deal with your little situation.
The next time you woke up, just three hours later, you made your way down to the kitchen, again having your morning routine interrupted. Two hands on your hips, a kiss on the back of your head. That smell… Bruno. You turned around and gave him a friendly hug, as he had just come back from a small getaway with his friends from his hometown in Brazil. ‘’Are you okay?’’ he asked. You knew he wasn’t expecting you to wait around for him, but still wanted to check up on you.
You thought for a second at how to answer him. ‘’Yes.’’ You said as you took a sip of your still hot tea. ‘’I met your friend.’’
Bruno raised an eyebrow at you, before leaning his head back and smiling. ‘’I see.’’ You loved how confident this man was.
You chuckled. He knew you so well. He knew his friend so well.
‘’Has Lewis treated you good?’’
‘’Yeah, he really has.’’ You smiled. ‘’He was kind to me.’’
‘’And Alex?’’ he continues while grabbing himself a drink. ’’I heard you were out with him.’’
You did love the fact that Bruno was like this. Always protective, always checking in on you. Whether you were ‘’with him’’ or not.
‘’Same as always, really. The fool is probably still sleeping with his date.’’ You said, unbothered. Bruno chuckled as he saw Alex enter the kitchen before you did, poking your side. ‘’Fuck you, you know.’’ Alex laughed.
‘’I didn’t mean to be meaaannnn…’’ You teased him as you dramatically turned your head towards him, as if you actually cared about being caught gossiping. ‘’How was it?’’ You and Bruno quickly started to hear him out before everybody would be up.
‘’So, guys, I think she is really into me.’’ Alex whispers.
‘’Oh yeah?’’ you smiled. ‘’Have your imaginary charms worked on this one?’’ You teased Alex some more.
The kitchen door suddenly opened and a confused Lara walked in on the three of you. You could tell she felt a bit out of place, but it was never your intention. You smiled and gestured for Bruno to leave to the dining room with you, leaving the two of them alone. ‘’Do you like him?’’ Bruno shoots as you as he pulled one of the chairs back for you. ‘’I don’t know, Bruno. I only just met him.’’ You really weren't in the mood for this conversation, especially not this early.
‘’It’s okay if you do, you know how I fee-‘’ Bruno started, but you quickly interrupted him. ‘’I know, please don’t worry.’’ You said, trying to escape the dreadful conversation.
‘’But I do worry about you, Y/N.’’ Bruno continues. ‘’I know Lewis. Better than you do.’’
The sentence keeps replaying in your head during breakfast. Is there something about him that you should know?
After breakfast, you got ready and made your way downstairs, figuring you’d go out to clear your mind for a little. You had to get your thoughts in order, and you really didn’t want to play with anyone’s feelings here.
As you were about to walk out, both Lari and Patricia stopped you. Clearly with the intention of hearing you out. It was just what you needed, though.
‘’Can you guys come with me?’’ You asked, voice low.
‘’Is everything okay?’’ They asked almost simultaneously as worried expressions were already appearing on their faces
‘’No, I just miss you guys.’’ You sighed. ‘’Also, you two are leaving soon and I just wanted to spend some time with my friends.’’
‘’Well, we’re going out tonight.’’ Patricia furrows her brows at you lightly.
‘’Great.’’ You said in a sarcastic tone. ‘’I’m being left out now, too?’’
‘’You’re so silly.’’ She laughs at you while putting her arm around your waist. ‘’We literally just decided that a few minutes ago, but we’re planning to drag the entire house.’’ Patricia said.
‘’Everyone will like the idea for sure, especially now that Bruno is back.’’ Lari adds.
‘’But come on, let’s get out of here for a bit.’’ Patricia continues, much to your gratitude. In no-time, the three of you were sat down at a nearby café, the couple in front of you enthusiastically chatting about their plans. ‘’So… I kinda wanted to ask you guys about Lewis.’’ You spilled.
Lari smiles down at her iced coffee and Patricia starts giggling at you. ‘’What?’’ Your red cheeks really didn’t help the situation. ‘’I like him for you.’’ Lari starts. ‘’He has an interesting side to him, to say the least.’’
‘’What’s that?’’
‘’The girls in his room could tell you all about that.’’ Patricia spilled as she rolled her eyes at Lari. Clearly not as enthusiastic about him as her girlfriend.
You felt a little demotivated by what you had just heard. Of course he was that type of guy. He just had to be. Someone so perfect, living in a paradise city like yours, what were you even expecting?
‘’So, he’s a player?’’ You asked your friends.
‘’Not necessarily, I just…’’ Patricia sighed. ‘’I think he is wild, but so are you. You just haven’t really discovered that side of yourself yet.’’
They were right. You were still young. Lewis was eight years older, in a much different stage of life. Your two friends had both noticed you lean back in your chair, before reassuring you. ‘’We’re going to be here for you, anyways. Just… don’t do things you’re not ready for, okay?’’ Patricia smiled at you while reaching for your hand.
‘’I won’t. You know me.’’
You would. You definitely would. There was no denying it. Those comforting brown eyes, those tattoos, his soft, plump lips… You were fucked.
Lari and Patricia left you to get to your local pilates class, before you’d go home to slowly start getting ready for the night. A quite promising one, if you had to believe your friends.
Your workout was tough, draining. Despite not being in the right headspace, you went all in, just because you figured you might feel better afterwards. It usually did help to relieve stress and all that, but today even working out wasn’t helping. A while after, you found yourself walking back to your house, still in your yoga leggings and top. Not paying much attention to your surroundings, as one of your currently favorite songs was playing in your earphones.
Brought you to my house for the night
Nervous, trip over my words You're so pretty, it hurts
Baby, I'm yours Baby, I'm yours Baby, I'm yours I need something more, I'll pray to the Lord That baby, I'm yours
You turned down the volume while turning the key inside the lock, immediately noticing how crowded it was inside the house, the noise easily heard from outside. Probably friends of friends eating and hanging out together. It wasn’t unusual for a hot summers’ day like this one, but as it was still a bit too much for you at the moment, you decided to directly make your way to your room. You dropped your bag on the floor next to your bed and freed your hair from the tight ponytail it was in. You gasped as you heard your bedroom door close behind you, startling you. Lewis.
‘’What the –‘’ you almost whispered.
‘’I had to see you.’’ Lewis speaks, tone all serious. He didn’t sound like his flirty self, at all.
‘’Couldn’t you wait until -’
‘’No. I had to see you alone.’’
You let yourself sink onto your bed, as you kept your eyes onto him.
‘’What is it?’’
Lewis sits down in front of you on your bed. ‘’People are going to talk and try to warn you.’’ He started. ‘’I know that, I’m not stupid, Y/N.’’
‘’And I know you might have your doubts, but I promise you, I’m not some asshole that’s just after one thing.’’
‘’I see.’’ You raised your eyebrows and looked down at your lap. ‘’Stick around.’’ He continues. ‘’I might just surprise you.’’ ’’I just might.’’ You said as you got up and grabbed a towel from your dresser and put it on the nearby bathroom shelve. He was here now, you might as well hear him out yourself.
‘’So, all the girls you’ve been with, if I’m supposed to believe the stories…’’ You curiously ask while preparing for your shower. ‘’Hm?’’ You heard Lewis, who was still sat on your bed, watching your every move. ‘’Those were all meaningless?’’
Lewis thought for a second, before answering. ‘’Well, not necessarily, but all of them knew what they were getting themselves into, you know.’’ You peek at him from the bathroom door, wearing nothing but your underwear and pilates top now, noticing Lewis’ readjusting the way he was sitting on your bed, clearly getting uncomfortable in his jeans. Interesting. ‘’I mean, I’m not just some heatbreaker, if that’s what you mean.’’ He hummed your way and continued, before you looked up at the mirror, flinching as Lewis was now stood right behind you. Oh, shit.
He kept his eyes locked on your reflection in the mirror, before taking a step closer to you. You tried hard not to quiver as you felt his chest on your back. He was so intimidating, so gorgeous, so big. Your heart was pounding so hard, you could only hope he wasn’t noticing it at this point. Past the point of putting on a tough act, you nervously stood still, completely unsure of what to expect. He got closer, caging you to the bathroom sink with his arms at each of your sides, as you felt all of his body, as well as the thick bulge in his pants. You stood frozen, almost anxious by his actions. He moved one of his hands to your sides and slipped it all the way up to your sweaty neck, before running a single finger down it, and down to your collar bone. ‘’Do you need some help cleaning that?’’ He whispers into your ear. You got so weak from his words alone.
He knew exactly what he was doing, and the exact effect it had on you. You moaned softly, barely audible and looked down at the sink when he grabbed your arms from behind and pulled you closer onto him. ‘’Look at me when I’m talking to you.’’ He angrily said, clearly displeased. ‘’I might.’’ You whispered. Lewis loosened his grip on you, making you lean back against the sink, as he gave you a loving, but promising smile, you immediately returning it. ‘’So, you’ve never done that before?’’ Straight shooter, this guy. ‘’What exactly?’’ He created a small distance between the two of you, and leaned against the bathroom wall, giving you a serious look. ‘’Shower sex.’’ He furrowed his brows as if he was already in disbelief. ‘’No.’’ ‘’Good.’’ He surprised you. The answer shocked you. What exactly was good about not being as experienced as the girls he always appeared to bring home? ‘’That means I can be your first.’’ He smiled before leaving you to actually get in the shower.
As the cold water poured down your hair and body, you couldn’t shake the thoughts of Lewis. Images of him kept flashing through your mind, as if he held you in some sort of spell.
You walked out of the shower and let yourself fall down on the bed for a few minutes, grabbing your phone from your bag. 6 PM. It was time to start getting ready and you really didn't know whether to feel excited or nervous about it. Luckily, Patricia had entered your room to get ready with you and also, to make sure you actually were ready on time. You started on your make-up, before blow-drying your long hair and eventually starting your ever existing crisis of deciding what to actually wear. "Black, please." Patricia read your mind.
"It's so dark..." you sighed. "Won't it be boring?"
"Babe." Patricia stated as she threw one of your favorite black mini dresses your way. "There is no such thing as you and boring in the same sentence." She spoke as the sped up song was playing in your room.
We're getting closer Inches away Lose composure Favorite mistake Friendship's over Won't be the same
Baby, I'm yours Baby, I'm yours I need something more But, baby, I'm yours
You tried your hardest to shift your mind elsewhere and ended up re-considering your outfit. You didn’t want to attract too much attention, but didn’t want to be underdressed either. She was right. Eventually you had settled for the black strapless mini dress and grabbed a pair of strappy, high orange heels along with some golden jewelry, a perfect match with your tanned body.
Just a quick 30 minutes later, you found yourself entering the big night club, where the atmosphere was alluring, but hot as hell. It felt suspiciously promising, for some reason you couldn't quite place. The dim lighted big open space had you feeling beyond curious. Patricia joyfully shouted to get drinks behind you and Lari, as you made your way to the bar. ‘’Anything to get us shit-faced, please.’’ She winked at the barman. Before you knew it, strong drinks started flowing down your throat as if they were water. You had a very high tolerance when it came to alcohol and it was really hard to get you drunk, so you didn’t really have much to worry about, luckily. After a short while of drinking and dodging flirty eyes, you decided you wanted to find the boys. Especially that one you couldn’t take your mind off of.
You took a quick look around you, as you got up from your seat. None of them were around, much to your surprise. Lari had noticed and took your arm, as a mutual smile exchanged between the two of you. ‘’Let’s find him.’’ She whispered into your ear.
The three of you made your way upstairs, up to the more private part of the club. A few steps closer, and you could actually start seeing things. Bruno and Lewis sitting together, clearly enjoying themselves. It had made you feel something you couldn’t quite place, but it was almost arousing to you. The corner was full of their friends, and Alex with Lara on his lap. The way the unknown girls in the club were simping over your housemates, was something you didn’t particularly like, but there was just no way you’d show it. You turned towards Lari, away from the both of them to show her the facial expression that was showing your true feelings. ‘’Uhm uhm.’’ Lari coughed, before leaving you alone. ‘’Hm?’’ You hummed in her direction, but it was too late. ‘’You look beautiful.’’ Lewis whispered in your ear, making goosebumps run down your body. He had gotten up from where he was sitting and made his way towards you, meaning everyone was seeing the two of you together now. You turned towards his smiling self, allowing his eyes to look you up and down. ‘’I don’t want to distract you from your company.’’ You snatched at him. If he wanted to play, you’d play.
‘’Then you should have stayed home.’’ He whispered as he came close to you again, pulling your body onto his by your waist. You knew exactly what he meant. It was too late to run from him now.
The night continued, you found yourself quickly making friends with the rest of the boys, laughing and drinking under the liberating atmosphere of the club. Lewis was seated to your left, Alex and Lara to your right.
‘’Quite a show they’re giving us huh?’’ ‘’We could do better.’’ Your alcohol influenced mouth spilled. Lewis adjusted his jeans; you knew he was getting uncomfortable in them for the second time today. Your whispers and movements would make sure of that. You weren’t even sure what you had gotten yourself into, but his hand that was playing with your lower back was slowly moving up to your neck, before grabbing your hair, pulling you slowly and softly towards him. ‘’Don’t tease me.’’ He warns you, voice spitting anger.
And I'm back to my ways 'cause I'm heartless All this money and this pain got me heartless Low life for life 'cause I'm heartless Said I'm heartless Tryna be a better man but I'm heartless
The loud music, the bass of The Weeknd’ song was putting you in all sorts of vibes at this point, more and more hungry for Lewis and what he had to offer. You were so eager to see him, his body, his everything… How he must have looked under those clothes. ‘’I’m not even, can you imagine?’’ You noticed your confidence went up the more you drank.
Not long after, you moved to the bar by yourself, enjoying crossing the lines a bit too much. You noticed someone staring you down, before allowing your eyes to meet with the handsome Portuguese guy that had been trying his hardest to get your attention. He had started to get a little too comfortable around you, while you didn’t even mean to flirt with him. Probably just because of the alcohol, as your eyes were set on somebody else. Frankly, you couldn’t be less interested in the dude.
It was late. Too late. For a split second you saw the strangers’ hand coming oddly close to you before you saw how he almost fell to the floor and grabbed onto another guy that was standing behind him, a result of Lewis pushing him away from you. ‘’Man what the fuck is wrong with you?!’’ The stranger shouted out, taking a step towards Lewis. ‘’We’re having a good time, what is your problem?!’’ ‘’My problem is you not staying away from the girl.’’ Lewis said as he grabbed you by your arm and pulled you behind him. ‘’Lewis I’m fine.’’ You sighed. ‘’Nothing happened.’’ The stranger angrily shook his head before departing, as Lewis turned towards you and pulled you closer to him. ‘’You don’t want to see what will happen if I find out he did touch you.’’ Shivers ran down your body as he guided you in front of him, directing you to sit back in your spots as he glanced back in the strangers’ direction one more time.
The early morning hours were approaching quicker than you hoped, but there was nothing to do about it. Before you’d like, the taxi had taken a turn towards your street.
‘’You shouldn’t play with fire so much.’’ Lewis smiles at you before kissing you on your cheek as you entered the house, the last two to arrive home. Dizzy and slightly confused by tonight’s’ events, you took your heels off, before walking towards your bedroom. The drinks, the music, the tension of the last couple of days, it was all getting to you. Lewis didn’t like the way you stopped in your steps and leaned against the wall and made his way towards you. God, you were never this heavily influenced by alcohol before. ‘’Are you okay?’’ He asked, voice full of concern. You looked up to him, tired and worn out, while messily picking up your heels from the floor. ‘’Yeah, just really tired.’’
The next thing you felt was Lewis’ arms picking you up as if you weighed absolutely nothing and carried you to your bedroom, much to your surprise. You lovingly leaned your head onto his chest and closed your eyes, wishing you could stay safe in his arms forever. He carefully opened the door and laid you down on the bed, before sitting at your side. Slowly, he moved your hair out of your face before leaning closer towards your face, earning a loving smile from you as well as a happy sigh. ‘’You just keep surprising me; did you know that?’’
‘’Opposites really do attract, huh?’’ You smiled. ‘’They sure do.’’ He whispers onto your lips.
You looked at his lips, back at his eyes, and his were on yours. They were so soft, so plump, it made you feel warm inside. His kiss was so different from any other you had ever had, so much more vivid. You pulled him closer to you on the bed, and before you knew it, felt the weight of his body on yours. So many thoughts flashed through your head, was this really happening? Thoughts that had somehow became worries. Lewis slowly pulled away and leaned on his hand next to you. ‘’Don’t worry.’’ He smiles. ‘’We’re not doing anything you’re not ready for.’’
‘’Who said I’m not ready?’’ You pouted.
Lewis grins at you, before kissing your forehead and made his way out, leaving you alone in your bed. Perhaps for the best. You let your head fell back down on the soft pillows, and in no-time, you drifted off in a long sleep that felt like it lasted for days.
Weeks had passed, weeks of spending most of your time with your friends, going out, days on the beaches. It was one hell of a summer, basically doing everything you wanted, whenever you wanted. At least, everything but one thing. You and Lewis hadn’t been getting that close again, ever since the night after the nightclub. Was he afraid? Was he not that into you? Was the wait too much for him? Was he getting bored?
You were trying to spend as little time as possible thinking about it. Maybe it wasn’t all worth it, maybe you had been seeing things that weren’t there, but no matter what, it wasn’t worth ruining your summer over it. You tried to block out any negative thoughts, as you lowered yourself into your car, ready to spend a day by yourself, as you got interrupted by a knock on your window.
You opened it. Lewis. ‘’Hi sunshine.’’ He smiled at you. His hair was neatly tied up in a bun, leaving two braids out to frame his face. He had to be aware of what he was doing, there was just no other way. ‘’Where are you off to?’’ ‘’Just the beach.’’ ‘’Got room for one more?’’
The day was ending quicker than you had hoped, with nothing more than a steamy make-out session in between evening swims. Quite romantic, playing around on the beach with Lewis. The hot sun was burning so bright, only boosting your confidence and love for the hot climate. Tanned body, a little bright yellow bikini, the blonde highlights in your hair only getting lighter. Couldn’t it just be summer forever?
Something was missing, though. Logic, probably. It was hard to think about it, and you didn’t want to come across as if you were chasing Lewis. You thought I’d be best to just let it be. It got harder and harder to assume what he was thinking, and what it was precisely that he wanted.
After a long shower of trying to wash all the sand and salty water off of your body, you found yourself back in your bed, window open, soft nightly breeze hitting your bare face. Turning a thousand times, trying to position yourself right so you could sleep… it just wasn’t working. Not at all. It was so hard to shake the thoughts you kept having. Flashbacks from the first time you had met Lewis outside of your house, him appearing out of nowhere in your bedroom, the nightclub… As well as all the phrases your friends had told you about him.
You tried to shake it all once more and grabbed your phone from the nightstand. 3:16 AM. You thought about it, about not doing it. But courage had come over you, and you were going to make use of it. You knew what you wanted. More importantly, you knew who you wanted.
You lift yourself up slowly, and sat up straight for a few moments, until eventually, you got up from your bed.
Gently, trying to make as little sound as possible, which was a hard task considering the old, creaking wooden floor under your feet. You opened your door and slowly started walking down the long hallway of your house, wearing nothing but your silk bottoms and a long-sleeved crop top, hair messily down in a braid. You stopped when you reached the last door on the right, heart pounding in your throat.
Softly you knocked a few times before opening the door.
‘’Lewis?’’ you whispered into the dark bedroom. His bed was placed under his window, big and halfway opened. He hummed a bit, probably half asleep, until you got closer. He rubbed his eyes, before opening them to you. ‘’Y/N?’’ ‘’What’s wrong?’’ he sleepily said as he grabbed his phone to check the time and put it back on his nightstand. ‘’I couldn’t sleep.’’ You sighed softly. ‘’Come here.’’ He said as he readjusted himself and raised the blanket for you. You hadn’t even been in his room before, let alone in his bed. You crawled next to him, Lewis immediately wrapping his arm around you, pulling you onto his chest and placing a soft kiss on your head. Only then you had noticed that he was completely naked under the blanket, his toned, big body shimmering in the light of the street lanterns that were partly lighting up his bedroom.
As you noticed his breathing, that told you he hadn’t gone back to sleep, you softly drew circles on his upper chest with your finger, him getting more and more relaxed under you, before gathering all the courage left inside of you.
‘’I want you, Lewis.’’ It was out before you knew it, and you had felt him making some sort of facial expression as his jaw clenched. He tilted his head down to face you, as if he wanted to be sure of what you had just told him, but he knew exactly what you meant. ‘’Are you sure?’’ Lewis asks, tightening his grip on you.
It wasn’t that often anymore that you got Lewis to yourself, moments like these had almost become a privilege by now. ‘’Yes.’’ You whispered, nerves in your body had started to spread faster than you ever thought possible. ‘’I’ve never been more sure.’’ Just his naked body against yours felt thrilling, and insanely intimidating. He was big, strong, and all yours in these hours and it had made you feel oh so powerful. ‘’Make me yours.’’ You whispered onto his lips.
Lewis was quiet, before raising himself onto his arms and pulling you under him, placing each one of his arms next to your face. ‘’You’ll do good for me, baby.’’ He smiled before slowly leaning his head towards yours, kissing you so deeply it was almost hypnotic. His chains leaning on your neck was the only thing keeping you grounded, the rest of it felt much more dream-like.
‘’Will I?’’ you whispered, a flaunt worry audible in your voice.
Lewis furrowed one of his brows, which just made him look even sexier under the dimmed streetlights. ‘’I’m going to make sure of it.’’ Your heart jumped, you couldn’t help but feel a jolt of shock go right through you, all the way to your core. You had never met someone who knew what he was doing like this. Every move, every touch was pure euphoria. He locked eyes with you once more and brushed his finger on your lips. ‘’How rude of me to keep you waiting.’’ He thought out loud, while his eyes wandered around your face.
He started to place light kisses on your neck, all the way down to your chest area, making you moan softly. His lips felt so damn good. There was just no way that this wasn’t right, being under him felt like heaven. He made his way down, before releasing you from the small bottoms and top you were wearing, never stopping his kisses and licks, until he reached your core, placing a featherlight kiss on your clit. It made you moan even more, when he finally gave you what you had been aching for so long. He came back up to your face, one of his fingers slowly entering you. ‘’You’ll be fine wet.’’ Lewis said, as you returned his smile. ‘’I love this.’’ You whispered, almost too shy to tell him, but still wanting him to know. He smiled as he gazed your body up and down, as if he was quite literally preparing to eat his prey alive. Him exploring your undiscovered body only made you feel hotter and hotter.
You grabbed onto him as he slowly entered another finger, stretching you oh so good. Feeling the cold metal of his rings touching the fuming part of your body had just made you hungrier for more, as you imagined how good his tattooed hands must have looked at the moment. He curled his fingers up, hitting spots inside of you that made you feel something you’d never felt before. His free hand was on your lower stomach, pinning you down onto the bed, only adding to the effect of his fingers inside of you. ‘’You’ve thought of me while touching yourself, haven’t you?’’ His honesty caught you off guard, and your silence told him everything he needed to know.
Lewis leaned back down, keeping his two fingers inside of you as he started to lick you from your clit down, making you whimper. He kept increasing his pace, making your mind go more and more blank. ‘’You feel so good.’’ You moaned as you closed your eyes. ‘’Don’t look away.’’ He warned you as he stopped his movements. ‘’Lewis I-‘’
‘’Look away and I stop.’’ Your heart rate got so high as you locked your eyes back with the beautiful man. He had completely taken over your mind, all you could do was as you were told and give into him.
‘’You’ve kept me awake so many nights imagining you.’’ He said as he came back up to you. ‘’It’s your turn for a sleepless night, don’t you think?’’
Butterflies went wild inside of you, you were only hoping to not come across as too shy, but your flushed red cheeks had already exposed you.
‘’That’s my girl.’’ He said as he sped up his pace once more and you gasped at his quick change of movements. ‘’You’re so close.’’
Your body was trembling, aching for more, aching for him.
‘’Please Lewis I-‘’
‘’You what?’’ He firmly said as he grabbed your face with his free hand, lightly squeezing your cheeks. You let out a high-pitched moan, hoping he would understand, but he wouldn’t have it. Your moan only made him squeeze you harder. ‘’Use your words.’’ Lewis spoke as he pulled your face more towards him, slightly raising his chin.
‘’I want you inside of me.’’ You whispered fearfully. Fearful, but curious. So curious as to what he felt like, especially knowing just his fingers were making you see stars just moments before. Lewis readjusted himself on his bed. He took his fingers out of you slowly, almost dripping with your juices, and tapped lightly on your bottom lip, once. ‘’Open up that pretty little mouth for me.’’ He commanded, and you did as you were told. Slowly his fingers reached deeper inside of your mouth, until you sighed of relief and let him enter as far as he wanted to. It felt electric, being at Lewis’ mercy, pleasing him. Your body relaxed, as his fingers hit the back of your throat, you completely trusting him.
Lewis released you of his grip and positioned himself in front of you, gently spreading your legs with his knee. ‘’You’ve made me dirty, but you’re about to make it up to me.’’ His tone serious.
Now would probably be a good time to rethink your actions, but you were completely worry-free. You felt nothing but lust for more, a small, content smile appearing on your lips as Lewis towered above you, leaning down towards your face on one elbow. ‘’Am I what you want, baby?’’
Expertly reading your body language just seconds before had already gave him his answer, but he wanted to hear you say it. ‘’I can’t think straight.’’ You admitted, clearly love-drunk. ‘’I need to hear you say it.’’ He whispered onto your lips. You sighed and took a look down at the man, as the early morning dawn had slowly started to brighten up the room. One look at him was enough, you wanted this. You needed this.
‘’Yes, I really do.’’ You whispered.
You gasped when you felt him touching your entrance, it was so much bigger than you expected, only raising your anticipation. ‘’It’ll be fine’’ Lewis voice echoed as he read your mind. The two of you moaned simultaneously when he slowly started to enter you, stretching you far more than his fingers had just done. It felt so good you felt tears welling up in your eyes, an unexplainable, euphoric tension running wild inside of you. ‘’Ugh, you feel so fucking good.’’ He moaned uncontrollably. His moans, his groans and the way his body tensed up above you was making you enter a whole new headspace. You lost it when he started rubbing your clit with his thumb, as he increased his pace inside of you. ‘’That’s it, baby.’’ He tried his best to stay calm and collected while completely losing himself inside of you, as you prayed the walls of this house were thick enough to mute your moans. Your orgasm had made you clench around him, only a few seconds before he lost control. ‘’How about I come inside of you, huh?’’ You moaned approvingly, moments before he did, leaving you in the rewarding state of mind you were in.
‘’That felt so good.’’ You moaned into the pillow, earning a loving smile from your new lover. He gave you a few moments to rest, before he picked you up in his arms, and carried you to the bathroom. ‘’Let me take care of you.’’ He whispered and placed a kiss on your messy hair, as your head was leaned against his chest. He sat you down on the edge of the bathtub, and gently started cleaning your body, before cleaning himself. You watched the soap wash off all the sweat, such a satisfying and beautiful image, as he locked his eyes on yours once more. He closed the tap and leaned towards you, wrapped a big towel around you and sat you down again. Kneeled in between your legs, as you looked down at him, satisfied and content. ‘’How do you feel?’’ he asked. ‘’Good.’’ You smiled. ‘’So good, and so tired.’’ You happily sighed.
Before you knew it, he took you in his arms again, gently lowering you into his bed with him, as you were already halfway asleep.
‘’I can’t wait for our future together.’’ He whispered.

WIP Wednesday
Howdy, yall! Thanks to @onthewaytosomewhere and @priincebutt for the tags! Aunt Flo came for a visit (if ya know what I mean), so I was down for the count for a couple days. But I have some goodies all the same. Teasing both stories yet again because I'm a nerd and can't stop at just one. Under the cut, enjoy!
living in a new normal
June and Nora arrived two days before they went set to depart for Paris. They made a day of shopping for last-minute items. Henry desperately needed some fresh wardrobe pieces for future date nights with Alex. Absent Pez, June was happy to dispense her fashion expertise.
“Oh, what about this one?” she suggested, selecting a soft pink linen shirt from a rack. “It would really complement your complexion. Plus it’s light enough for a summer evening stroll.”
Henry held it to his chest and looked in the mirror. “I think you’re right. I tend to stick to familiar colors. Lots of blues and such. My best friend Pez is always goading me into branching out.”
“Nothing wrong with having a signature color,” June smiled. “With those eyes of yours, blue is a no-brainer, but it’s always good to have a little variety.”
Henry folded the shirt over his arm with his other selections. He and June drifted toward the front of the store. As they paused near a display of trousers, Henry said softly, “I want you to know that I care about your brother very much.”
June looked up at him, her expression inscrutable. Henry licked his lips. “That is to say…this isn't some fling for me or an easy way to get a free vacation to Europe. I’m not going to drop him once the tour is over. I know a lot can change in three months, and Christ, maybe he will be the one to toss me aside-”
“He won’t,” June said firmly.
“You can’t know that.”
“I know my brother,” she insisted. Henry’s mouth snapped shut at the certainty in her tone. She took a deep breath. “Despite what the tabloids might say, Alex isn’t some playboy screwing models or actresses left and right. When he’s in a relationship, he gives it his all. Maybe too much. The dumbass may claim he can do casual, but the only person that has ever really worked out with was Nora and only because they both had eyes for other people.”
Alex’s laugh rang out from another part of the store, full-throated and carefree. June smiled in the direction of it. “I never met Jasper. After what we “affectionately” call the fuckening, I was worried the trauma Alex experienced would keep him closed off from seeking out happiness for a long time. You were an unexpected but very welcomed surprise, Henry. You brought the light back out in him. I may not have seen you two interact all that much, but I can tell from the tone in his texts and phone calls how much he cares about you.
Henry felt his throat tighten at her kind words. She reached out to grasp his free hand and finished by saying, “I know you’re concerned with what people will think. But you’re not in this alone. The thing you’ll learn about the Claremont-Diaz clan is once you’re in, you’re one of us and we look out for each other. Remember that, okay?”
A Tournament for His Heart
As Alex watched them talk, he felt a hand on his shoulder and looked up. Phillip nodded, and Alex stood, following him through another door. This led to an office, dark save for the moonlight from the window. Alex watched as Phillip pressed part of the mantle, and a panel in the wall released with a click and swung out. He looked at the prince, who said, “Follow the passage.”
Hope rose up within him as he stepped over the threshold. His footsteps echoed off the stone. He summoned a small orb of light to guide his path, and it floated in front of him like a phantom. As he walked, descended a set of stairs, and continued down another passage, another sound joined his footsteps. Soft at first then growing stronger with each step: piano music. Finally, he saw a sliver of golden light as he reached the end of the passage. Alex’s hand reached out and pushed the door open wider. Revealed was a small library, a fire crackling. A familiar figure sat at the piano. The golden head, hair longer than Alex remembered, looked up from the sheet music.
“Hello, cariad.”
A/N- My bestie Kate has been such an incredible help with these stories, especially LIANN. If yall thought Love on the Menu was romantic, JUST YOU WAIT. Paris is gonna be two parts and loaded with enough romance to give you cavities. Stay tuned!

CONGRATS ON YOUR FIRST YEAR LET'S GET IT
jaehyun + summer vacation!au + "I'm always flirting with you. Keep up."
love u
[a/n] ALEX THANK YOU SO MUCH BBYGRILL!! my senpai that noticed me, thank you so much for the support ilysm♡♡ hope you like this small drabble!!
PAIRING. lifeguard!jaehyun x female!reader GENRES. romance, summer vacation!au PROMPT. "i'm always flirting with you. keep up." WORDS. 957
WARNINGS. swearing and mentions of drinking
To most college single students, summer vacation meant a lot of things.
Trips to the beach, sunbathing, tanning, ice cream, iced coffee, bon fires, drunk nights…
Summer flings.
This year, after a messy break-up with your ex-boyfriend, your best friends decided that a trip to the beach was exactly what you needed.
Only, they hadn’t mentioned it to you.
Instead, amidst your confusion , you distinctly remember Krystal pulling you out of your bed and forcing you to wash up, Jennie in the background making breakfast for all of you (while you sincerely hoped that she wasn’t making a mess out of your kitchen), and Yuqi and Seulgi packing your clothes and essentials for the trip.
Not even an hour later, you five squeezed into Krystal’s sleek black Audi e-tron GT and they whisked you away for a fun trip. It was very Sex and the City-esque of them, and you were most certain that it was Jennie’s idea.
And that was how you ended up lying down on a beach towel with your four best friends, in a bikini and black Gentle Monster sunglasses on, and a mango margarita in your hand.
It was the third day of your trip — and you had no idea how long the girls planned this trip for — and you were still, and you quote from Yuqi, “as lifeless as ever”, and un-quote.
“Ma’am,” Krystal said to you. “We’re at the beach for the first time in so long, and you haven’t caught a single wave yet? Who are you and what have you done with my best friend?”
“Not in a mood to surf,” you muttered back as you perched your sunglasses over your head so that they could see your deadpan expression.
“More importantly, you have all this eye-candy in front of you,” Yuqi motioned the people in front of you with a dramatic hand while the other three nodded furiously, “and you’re telling me not one of them caught your interest?”
They saw a flash of interest flash through your eyes and they immediately hounded you like a pack of coyotes around raw meat. “Who is it, you bitch!”
You turned away from them. “No one.”
“Come on!” Jennie whined. “This is probably the most exciting thing that has ever happened to you in the past two years!”
You narrowed your eyes. “I started going out with my ex two years ago.”
“Exactly.”
You flipped her your middle finger.
“Okay, okay,” Seulgi said as she pushed your finger down. “Let’s stop bullying her, she already has a lot to deal with.”
“Thanks, Seul.” You hugged her. “I knew there was a reason why you’re my favourite.”
“It’s not her fault if she looks too depressed for anyone to even approach her.”
You let out an offended gasp and pushed a guffawing Seulgi away while the other girls laughed and snickered at your misery. Amidst your fun, you didn’t even notice a certain man approach your little group.
“Having fun, ladies?”
You all whipped your head towards the source of the question and a smile immediately made its way to each of your faces. More so on your friends than on yours, though.
“You know it, Jaehyun,” Krystal answered with a wink.
Jung Jaehyun was one of the eye-candies that Yuqi mentioned beforehand, something you five determined the second you set foot on the beach. You six met when you were all trying to get your surfboard down from the top of Krystal’s car without hitting an innocent passerby or the cars parked nearby. He happened to pass by and offered his help.
You then proceeded to find out that he was also from Seoul and always came down to this beach to work as a lifeguard seasonally. That fact added to his face and body and his good manners, it was a no-brainer for all of you to put him in your communal eye-candy category.
It just so happened that Jaehyun was the only person that has caught your attention.
“Hey,” he addressed you specifically, and you only hoped that your friends wouldn’t embarrass you. “Some of the other lifeguards and I are having this small bonfire party later in the evening after the beach clears out. We’re going to have some booze and maybe surf a little at night. Would you like to come?”
You blinked your eyes repeatedly. “Uhh, just me?”
It was then that Jaehyun seemed to have realized his mistake. “Oh, I mean, your friends are obviously invited,” he said with his eyes darting around like crazy, making sure that he didn’t offend the other girls, before he meekly added, “But I would love it if you came.”
“Yeah, we’re just–” Yuqi started to say and got up with the other girls. “–we’re just gonna go and uh, leave you two lovebirds alone.”
When they finally left, Jaehyun plopped down on the bath towel next to you and focused his attention on you, flustering you a little.
“So, what do you say?” he asked with a cute, dimpled smile.
You raised a skeptical brow. “Careful there, Jaehyun, or else I might think that you were flirting with me.”
Jaehyun threw his head back in laughter before slowly shaking it at you. “Oh, babe, I’m always flirting with you. Keep up.”
His confession took you by surprise. Your mouth opened and closed like a gaping fish out of the water. “Y-you are?”
Jaehyun chuckled lowly, his deep voice sending tingles down your spine, and he nodded. “Yeah. So, are you coming?”
You nodded slowly and wordlessly — as if you were going to say no to him.
“Cool,” he answered before giving you a small peck on the cheek. “See you later, then, babe.”

A Night In Las Vegas
requested by this anon: “I had the BEST idea: CC!Quackity came up with the idea of his Las Nevadas character arc after going to Las Vegas and meeting Reader there. Maybe one night the reader decides to go and twitch and finds quackity doing a lore stream and the reader is like: no way, it’s the guy I met in Vegas.”
{I love this concept, sorry it took so long for me to get out}
Quackity x reader
trigger warnings: some swears
premise: after getting ditched by your friends on the last night of your long weekend in vegas you run into a very interesting guy who doesn’t hesitate to befriend you. But what happens months later when he still seems to be running circles in your mind?
{covid don’t exist here, no sir}
{for the sake of the story, readers favorite color is blue, if its not, either pretend it is, or get over it}
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10:34pm
“You can’t just- you can’t kick me out!” You yelled.
Your bestfriend laughed, “Just find somewhere to go for a few hours! Me and Hunter want alone time!”
“A few fucking hours!?! Seriously?!” But your duffle bag had already been thrown at your feet, and the hotel door room was swinging closed, muffled giggles coming from inside.
Groaning, you picked up your bag, where were you supposed to go now?
“Not that I was like- listening in or anything- but damn that sucks.”
You jumped turning to see a man with black hair sticking out of his beanie standing in front of the door diagonal from yours.
“Uh- yeah. Last night in Vegas and I get ditched for a random hook up,” You scoffed, “I should’ve known it would happen.”
“That’s not cool, uh- I’m Alex.” He stepped forward, offering his hand.
Somewhat reluctantly, you shook his hand, “(y/n).”
He nodded, “I was going to head out for a late night wander, find something to do-, preferably away from all the hookups that seem to be happing around us right now. If you want to come.”
You glanced around, “Seriously?”
“Oh- god that did sound kinda creepy didn’t it,” Alex scrubbed a hand over his face, “Sorry- I- you can just forget about this then-”
“No! I mean- You don’t seem like a rapist or anything. I’ll come with.”
He grinned, “Poggers, you can, leave that, in my room, if you want. Just seems like a pain to lug around everywhere.”
You bit your lip, “Leaving my belongings in a strangers room while I go with said stranger to find something interesting to do, sure- why not?”
~~
10:57pm
Somehow, you found yourself wandering out of the hotel lobby, and onto the crowded streets along side Alex.
“So.... whats your favorite color?” He asked as you walked.
You laughed, “What?”
“We’re like, total strangers- it was a question, to get to know you.” He tucked his hands into his pockets.
“Oh, well-” before you could finish your sentence, there was a large amount of gasps and yells from the crowd in front of you.
“What’s going on?” Alex asked quietly.
You craned your neck to look over the crowd, gasping, “The water show! With the fountains outside of Caesar’s Palace!” You grabbed his hand, tugging him with you to push through the crowd, “This was the whole reason I agreed to this trip- but we never got to it!”
You shoved your way through the crowd until you got to the front, pressing against the barrier to watch the fountain display.
“Holy shit.” You heard him mutter from beside you.
You grinned, “It’s impressive right?”
“Imagine the coding it would take to get those things to stay on time.”
~~
11:27pm
After the show had ended, you had kept wandering for a while, up the strip, asking various questions back and forth.
You had found out that he was a Minecraft youtuber and a law student, though you’d had to admit, you weren’t too knowledgeable on either that subject.
Now you were both staring up at the Dave and Busters sign, “This is a good idea right?”
He nodded, “Definitely. Come on, I’d bet I could beat you at skee ball!”
Laughing, you followed him into the building, and up the stairs toward the arcade entrance, “Your on!”
After buying the credit cards for access to the games, you grabbed his hand, dragging him over to the skee ball lanes.
“Lets go!” He shouted, a few minutes later, upon realizing your score was a total of 10 points behind his, “I’m popping off!”
You laughed, “Okay, what game’s next?”
Nearly an hour later, you had both run out of credits, and laughing, made you way up to the prize area.
“Do you think its possible to compile our tickets?” He asked.
“Why?”
You followed his pointing finger to the large stuffed dragons sitting on one shelf.
“We need him.” You said immediately.
After picking out a bright red dragon, you began to argue over the name as you made your way to the counter.
“What about Carl?” You suggested.
He shook his head, “I have a friend named Karl.”
“How ‘bout........ Phil?”
“I also know a Phil.”
“Hmmmm, what about Sebastian?”
“He doesn’t look like a Sebastian!”
You frowned, “Well do you have any ideas then?”
Alex thought for a moment, “Albert.”
You looked down at the dragon, “Albert it is.”
At the counter Alex convinced the reluctant worker to allow you to use both the cards credit totals, and then you went happily on your way out of the building, stopping to take a picture of Albert in front of the sign, which Alex posted to twitter with the comment of, “Look at our son!”
You’d staid mostly out of frame, but he managed to get about half of your side, since you were the one holding Albert.
“Do you think any pf the buffets are still open?” Alex asked.
“I hope so, I’m starving.” You giggled.
~~ 12:06am
The buffet was somewhat deserted, and you and Alex had grabbed seats in one of the corners after getting plates full of food.
Albert sat on the table between you as you talked.
“So it’s roleplay- but in Minecraft?” You asked, barley holding back a laugh.
He nodded, chuckling, “It sounds stupid, I know, but it’s like- huge. Especially since technically I’m getting back into the main lore now, with the whole project: vegas thing.”
“Project Vegas?” You asked.
He nodded again, “My character, he’s been through almost everything that's happened, and everything always ends to blow up in his face, literally sometimes. He’s built contries from the ground up- as stupid as that sounds- but they always fail, but this one won’t fail.
“I’m partnering with another guy on the server to set up a whole economy, he’s making a bank, and I’m making- well I’m making my own Vegas.”
You took a sip of your drink, “What’s it going to be called?”
“I haven’t figured it out yet,” He admitted, “I wanted to just call it Las Vegas but the names already taken.”
With a chuckle you shifted in your seat, “What about....- what about Las Nevada's?”
He laughed, “I like that.”
“Tell me more about this server then, I still don’t understand the story.”
With another chuckle he launched into the story, “Well, it all started when this guy called Wilbur Soot decided he wanted to start a nation....”
~~ 3:18am
“Blue.”
You were back at the hotel now, still with Quackity, sitting out on the balcony of his room. Some how, you had ended up having some slightly deep talk about life and death and a million other things before lapsing into silence, simply watching the blinking lights of the city.
“What?” He asked softly.
“You asked me my favorite color, ten minutes after we met. It’s blue- that's my favorite color.” You shivered against a cold breeze.
Alex shifted minutely closer, “Why?”
You shrugged, “It can be so many things. Deep and dark and mysterious but also light like the summer sky and filled with hope. There’s a million shades from happiness to anger, and to everyone it could mean something else.”
“I like that.” He said quietly.
~~
7:04am
You yawned, rubbing sleep out of your eyes as the car drew closer to the airport.
Alex tapped on the steering wheel in time with the music, quietly humming along.
“Oh, I see my friend, they actually waited for me.” You said as the car pulled up to the curb.
“How considerate.” He chuckled, climbing out of the car.
You followed suit, retrieving your duffle bag from the back seat.
“Well, it was cool knowing you Alex.” You said.
“Likewise.”
Before you started to walk away you remembered, and quickly turned back to where he was standing, pulling Albert out of your bag, “Here, he’s yours. You spent more tickets on him than I did.”
He shook his head, “Keep him. I give you full custody of our son.”
“Oh- okay... bye then.”
You barley made it a few steps before he was quickly catching up to you, grabbing your arm and spinning you to press his lips on yours.
“Good luck with your shitty friends.” He breathed, before hurrying back to his car, leaving you flustered and running to catch up to your friend.
~~
One and A Half Months later
It had been over a month since the Vegas trip, but you still hadn’t gotten Alex out of your head.
You had clicked, on some level, and the late night conversation you had shared seemed to keep you thinking about him.
Now, you scrolled aimlessly through twitter, checking the trending tags until you came across one called “LAS NEVADAS”
Now that piqued your interest, and clicking on it, you found posts of people live tweeting an event- no a live stream. And not just any live stream- a Minecraft stream.
Quickly you opened a new tab, pulling up twitch as fast as you could.
What was the name of his channel? Oh god why did you forget?
Returning to twitter you searched until you found a link, following it to a new twitch tab.
And there he was.
The boy who had been doing laps around your mind was actually there, talking to another character.
“Look Sam, you and me, we could control everything. I need the bank to help fund Las Nevada’s, we can be partners.”
You sat, watching the stream, enthralled.
Once it had ended, you still could hardly believe you found him, quickly following another link back to his twitter and opening a direct message.
Y/n: Um, this is awkward, idk if you remeber this, but we met in vegas, about a month ago, and I had no idea how to find you until the stream today
quackityHQ: uh, hi?
qusckityHQ: proof?
Quickly you sent him the picture you had taken of him with Albert,
y/n: uhhh, bam, proof?
y/n: our son is sitting on my head board right now
quackityHQ: holy shit

Glimpses: Part 9 (Kathryn Hahn x Fem!Reader)
Part 1 // previous chapter <<< >>> next chapter
Summary: Are you... finally having a date?
Word Count: 2.6k
A/N: Hey y’all! Again, I apologize for the delay but uni didn’t allow for me to have some free time to write. I’ll try to upload something earlier next week and hope you enjoy the new chapter until then! xxx
_____________________________________________________________________________
“Wish I could've seen your beautiful face on my screen tonight, sweetheart.“ You stare at your phone. Is she… flirting? By now it’s too late, so you can’t ask Alex for help since she is already sound asleep on her side of the world. You ruffle your hair and let your head fall to the back to look at the ceiling. Taking in a deep breath, you close your eyes and consider your options. Tonight, it’s only you, your phone and Kathryn.
Unsure of what to do, you opt for the safer way and start a conversation rather than flirt with her right away, because honestly, you don’t even know what to do. “You know, we all actually hoped you guys would be able to see us, too.“
You are not sure if you blew it with that, but then again it’s not like you and Kathryn haven’t talked about things the fans think before, not that you are not one of them, but that’s a different story. She takes a while to respond and you throw your phone on the bed before lying down on your back.
Looking up at the stars on your ceiling, you reflect on what happened within the last week until your phone lights up again. You lie there for a short while waiting for Kathryn to respond and think about what plans you have for the rest of the week. You train of thought gets stopped when your phone lights up. You turn to your side to look at it and realize it lit up, yes, but this time there is no new message. Instead, additionally to lighting up, your phone starts to vibrate as hold it in your hand - a familiar face looking right at you. Yours. She is calling you. KATHRYN. On Facetime.
Shocked as you are, you throw your phone across the room and as you try to catch it you hit it again, which only makes it fly further away. You immediately jump after it and fall from your bed in the process, taking a tumble before rolling off on the floor. Typical you and you would roll your eyes at yourself right now, if only you weren’t so busy reaching out for your phone.
For a moment, you think about how you could’ve hit your head pretty hard just a second ago, but somehow your body went into god mode and you managed to roll off pretty quickly. Phone in hand you are lying on the floor, all sprawled out as the time runs out to pick up the call. Gladly, you remember you should and take it as you still lie on the floor.
“Kathryn?“, you try to catch your breath. “Sweetheart, HEY!“, you catch a glimpse of her as you’re getting up to sit on your chair and hear her laugh. “What exactly are you doing, Y/N? You look… You are a mess, honey! WHAT HAPPENED?“
You immediately stop in your motion and look at her while running a hand through your hair trying to look more presentable. “I…“, you stutter. “I… I.. My phone… Floor. I had to… It’s…“
“Sweetheart you gotta take a breath for me now.“, she looks at you concerned.
“Yes, thank you Kathryn, yes. Hello there! I’m sorry. I might’ve hit my head actually. I’m not sure.“ She smiles once again while she is looking at you with her warm, blue eyes, as she gives you another minute to calm down after you ramble. “Well, I’m glad I get to see you now. I hate those one sided video things, especially since I’ve missed your face.“ She winks.
“You saw me like… 5 days ago. You’ll live.“ You can’t help but laugh at her antics once again and the both of you sit in comfortable silence for a moment until she breaks it. “Anyway, I am calling because I wanted to know if you will come and spend some time in my garden again this weekend.“ The words leave her mouth and you hear her but your brain seems unable to comprehend what is being said. How can this be your life right now?
While you are caught up in your thoughts Kathryn continues talking. “I promise this time we’ll stay at my place. No surprise gigs or anything to attend. Just the gals hanging out.“ You want to ask her if this is a date, you really do, but you can’t get yourself to be bold like that. Instead you just shoot her a wide smile as she waits for your answer and nod. “Yes! Absolutely! I mean… We never got to finish that bottle of wine we opened, so…“
Now it’s her turn to nod and you both fall silent again. Even though you are fully comfortable sitting in silence and just spending time with her in real life, it feels different on Facetime. Kathryn seems to notice rather quickly and breaks the silence again.
“Well, Sweetheart. I’ll let you go because I’m sure you’ve got other things to do. I will send you details for the weekend as soon as I know what my schedule looks like and then I’ll have Peter pick you up again?“
“That sounds amazing!…“ And you should've stopped there but at the same time you feel a little adventurous, so you throw a common phrase in there that Alex uses any chance she gets. Realizing you could always say you don’t mean it that way makes it even easier - after all Kathryn doesn’t know you actually do. “It’s a date!“
Her smile turns into a wide grin. “It’s a date. I’ll see you on Saturday then.“
“Not if I see you first.“
—
You don’t see her first. Kathryn would never admit it, but she is in fact very nervous and paces up and down the house waiting for you. She fully cleaned all of it last night already, knowing that you would come over today.
When she hears Peter and you arrive with the car, she walks up to the front door immediately and opens it right as you exit the car. You're wearing a flow-y summer dress again and your hair falls your shoulders in beautiful curls. A pair of sunglasses is propped up on top of your head and she can see you squinting your eyes against the sun.
Kathryn is leaning against the door frame as Peter sees you off and the two of you laugh about a dad joke he makes. She likes how you get along with everyone around her so well and her heart skips a beat as you turn around and your eyes meet. She is beautiful. A dark green pantsuit, that Kathryn combined with a white shirt (including the rolled up sleeves, of course), is hanging loosely off her shoulder. Her hair is in its usual curly mess and slowly moves in the wind as a fresh breeze hits her face.
Faster than anticipated you make your way up to her and wrap her up into a hug that, according to your consideration, is a little bit longer than a usual hug. She holds onto you just as tight and her hand wanders up to the back of your neck. When you finally let go of earth other you forget to put distance between your bodies again, so you find yourself just a couple inches away from her face once again.
“You look… stunning.“ She says as her hand softly pushes back a strand of hair behind your right ear.
“THANK YOU!“, you say in a high pitched voice as your eyes widen because of how embarrassing that voice raise was. “You look beautiful as always yourself, Kathryn.“
The smile on her face tells you that the compliment is sitting very well with her and you decide to keep a bit of the mystery, so you brush against her as you walk inside the house and make your way to the door thats leading to the garden.
Stunned, Kathryn stays in the doorframe for a moment before following you out onto the patio. She reaches you before you can reach the seating area because you purposefully strolled a little and appreciated the beauty of her backyard.
“I love your dress! That color and fit is just… you look beautiful, Y/N.“ You blush and it doesn’t go unnoticed by her as she has just caught up to you. The two of you have reached the couch and she offers you to sit first and makes sure you have a drink and everything you need before she makes herself comfortable. Just like last time, she sits down across from you first, keeping the mystery and all.
The Kathryn you get to meet now is not that much different from the Kathryn you met within the last two weeks. She is funny and open and, if anything has changed, then it is the fact that she is much more relaxed without all the other people around.
As she tells you about her latest interview fails and gives you inside on her life, you can’t help but fall for her a little more, especially whenever she throws her head back as she laughs wholeheartedly.
When it’s your turn to tell stories, you tell her about your childhood hobbies and how does might effect your future. She is very interested in arts and you immediately agree to meet up again to create something together. Talking about how you spend your free time, you finally mention Alex and talk about how fast she became your best friend. Just as always, she makes you feel like you are the most important person on the planet as you talk and somehow you feel like Alex becomes important to her as well, the moment you talk about how important she is to you.
With every glass she pours, Kathryn scooches a little closer to you until your knees nearly touch. Whenever you laugh about a joke, she reaches out to put her right hand on your leg and as you finish the first bottle of wine and she decides to order pizza as the sun starts to set, she plops down right next to you after getting the menu off the kitchen table.
Being fully comfortable with her now, you let yourself sink into her shoulder as the two of you browse the pizza names to see what you want to order. Luckily, you make a decision rather quickly while Kathryn needs some time, so you can enjoy the moment of closeness for a little while longer.
For the very first time, you realize how good her hair smells and how calming her aura is. You close your eyes to take it all in and smile to yourself about the sheer happiness that you are feeling in this very moment.
Kathryn notices how calm you have gotten and leans back as her left arm sneakily finds its way across your shoulder to hold you close to her. Leaning back into the couch, she pulls you with her and the both of you sit in silence as you listen to her heartbeat.
After a while, you hear a deep growl and Kathryn gets startled out of her meditational state. “Oh I’m sorry! I must be hungrier than I thought I am.“
She takes out her arm from behind you again and reaches for the menu and her phone to call the delivery service. When the pizza arrives and she comes back from the front door, she sits down on the other side of the couch once again and you immediately miss being by her side.
The pizza is nice, maybe even the best pizza you’ve had from any delivery service before, and by the time you finished eating, the sun has fully set. Not sure how she is going to react, you fiddle with your fingers for a moment before making a proposal.
“I.. actually arranged something. I looked up Peter’s agency and asked for his number and asked him if he could take us somewhere tonight. I mean.. If you’d wanna go?“
Once again speechless, Kathryn looks at you with wide eyes and raised eyebrows as her face is beaming from excitement. “Absolutely! Do we… need anything or are we good to go right away?“ It’s nice that she wants to help, but she doesn’t have to. Alex and you have planned for this very moment all week and talked it all through several times, so that Peter and you could arrange the surprise for Kathryn.
You help her up from the couch and lead her back into the house, where a filled basket, that has magically appeared, is waiting at the front door. Peter is already waiting in the car ready to take you to the stars.
It’s a rather short drive as he takes you to a little meadow on a hill where you can look over Los Angeles in between rocks and trees and actually see the stars as well. Naturally, he stays in the car and ready a book as the two of you walk up to the corner of the hill, where a small spot suggests that lots of couples have spent some time there.
“This is perfect, Y/N. I….“ She looks at you before looking up at the night sky and stops talking as she feels your eyes on her. Your fingers on the blanket are close enough to hers that you can feel her warmth and you slowly move them closer. Neither of you breaks eye contact as your hands touch and a tingles move through all of your body.
You bite the inside of your lower lip in anticipation as you cup her hand with yours completely. Giving it one last squeeze, you let go and cup her face instead. Slowly, you move closer until you can feel her breath on your lips. Looking into her eyes for one last time, you overcome the remaining inches and capture her lips in a longing kiss as your hands find their way into her long hair.
Leaning into the kiss with a little too much force, combined with the fact that she is so focused on the way you make her feel, makes her lose balance and she falls backwards onto the blanket. Before you can do anything about it, you find yourself on top of Kathryn who is grinning and goes in for yet another kiss. Now she is the one who is holding onto you and her hands glide all over your body as she takes no measures to get you off of her.
You make out with her in that position for a short moment, before she stops in her tracks. “We can’t. Not like that. Not out here. I’m sorry, Sweetheart.“
“Oh no, don’t be sorry. You are absolutely right.“ You smile and kiss her shortly for one last time before getting off of her. “Let’s go back home? It’s getting rather cold anyway.“
“Home? Are you… Staying over tonight?“ She looks at you, unsure of what to expect.
For a moment you consider if you should play it save, but thinking about everything that happened tonight, you decide to go into full offense and shoot your shot while you wink at her. “Well, Ms. Hahn. Seems like you are asking me to stay, so I might as well.“
She looks at you and you can tell she is biting her lip before she looks back at the lights in front of her as she grabs your hand. “Please stay, Y/N. I would love that.“

High School Lovers
AN: Planning to make a storyline out of this on AO3
Warnings: Mature
Omega Lena Luthor x Alpha Reader
————————————
First Day of School
Danvers Household
The Danvers, the famous kind family with three dashing Alphas. Eliza and Jeremiah are proud of producing three strong women alphas. The oldest (Y/N) Danvers, the most popular jock in their highschool. You're proud to be the captain and quarterback of the Midvale’s football team. The omegas from all grades adore your looks and muscles but they didn’t stand a chance since you were dating the cheerleading captain, Cat Grant.
Cat dumped you during summer break and your inner alpha felt heartbroken. She left you for Maxwell Lord, the snobby rich alpha with little or none manners. You learned to let go during the summer and focused on getting that athlete scholarship during your last year of highschool and just move on with your life. Recently you became more reckless with your alpha actions, getting into fights, not listening to your parents. You were a mess that your sisters had to watch over you, to avoid getting yourself into further trouble.
The second oldest, Alex Danvers is also popular, known for her smarts for science but also the captain of the basketball team. Alex has always looked up to you as a role model. She basically became a tough looking alpha just like her older sister. But under those tough looks, she’s soft as a teddy bear, as her girlfriend, Sam Arias, declares it.
The youngest alpha in the family is Kara Danvers. The well known ball of sunshine and kindness. People often underestimate the blonde. Her alpha side is not something to be messed with. Bigger alphas would bully the youngest Danvers but they would run for the hills if Alex and you teach them a lesson on what happens when you mess with their youngest sister. Kara loves her sisters so much but she also loves her omega girlfriend, Lucy Lane , for always supporting her.
You're happy that your sisters have girlfriends and glad that they picked the best omegas from your shared high school. You don’t have to worry about the omegas being a distraction to your sisters’ studies. Whenever they’re in heat, they know best to stay away from their alphas and sit out. Eliza is thankful to not worry about being a grandma so soon.
“(Y/N)! Wake up! Mom has been calling you for breakfast!” Alex pounds on the door of your bedroom. You groan and growl at the door.
“I’ll be there!” You yelled back. You’re glad that you have your own room. Unfortunately, Alex and Kara have to share a bedroom. Sometimes you would hear them arguing next door on the stupidest things.
“Agh. First day of senior year here we go.” You said to yourself as you push your blankets away.
***
“Sam! Can you drive a little slower?!” Lena yells at her driver. She doesn’t know why she agreed to ride with her best friend to school if her life is endangered.
“Lena. It’s our first day of being juniors. I don’t want to be late!”
“We’re an hour early! You literally just want to see your girlfriend and ride her dick in the locker rooms.” Lena huffs.
The omega is happy that her best friend is dating a popular yet caring alpha but it can be annoying to watch them tongue each other’s throats in public. Lena wishes she had an alpha to look forward to but ever since she dumped Jack, she hasn’t been able to find another great alpha.
The reason the raven haired dump the alpha is that he would often ask her to have sex. Lena felt uncomfortable and she was only 15 years old at the time and he was a senior. He was the legal age of having sexual intercourse. Lena didn’t like being pressure into having sex so she broke things off and was content when he left for college. Lena wants to pick someone special to take her virginity and hopes to find that someone soon.
Sam ease off on the gas so that her passenger doesn’t contract a heart attack. A muscle car pulls up next to Sam’s car. The car is too familiar to the omegas. They've been seeing that classic black Ford Mustang fastback all summer.
The Danvers sisters are inside that car. The oldest Danvers revs the car again, annoying the two omegas inside their own car. Sam got a bit distracted as she saw the second oldest Danvers giving her certain looks that any omega would like to see. Lena saw that Kara was shaking her head, not wanting to be part of her sisters’ reckless act.
The alpha speeds up and cuts Sam off. Sam honks at the mustang, “Jackass.”
Lena laughs, “maybe if you weren’t so distracted looking at your alpha, (Y/N) wouldn’t have cut you off.”
Sam didn’t park too far from the alphas, they both got off at the same time. Lucy from afar, ran into Kara’s arms and gave her a longing kiss for everyone to witness. Sam didn’t want to embarrass herself like that and waited for Alex to walk over to them.
“Good morning, babe.” Alex lifts up Sam off her feet and Lena gags.
Not wanting to witness their affection, her eyes fall to the older Danvers stepping out of the car last. You wore sunglasses and simple black jeans with white fitted t-shirt. You saw your sisters run to their girlfriends and you just roll your eyes at them. You didn’t bother to wait for them and just make your way inside the school campus grounds to go hang with your jock friends.
“I see that you’re checking out the oldest Danvers.” Sam teases Lena.
“Wait what? Are you seriously checking out my sister, Luthor?”
Lena can’t help to admit that you’re the most handsome looking alpha she has ever seen in this highschool and that she developed a small crush over you since her freshman year. Besides dumping Jack for pressuring sex onto her, she also did it for you. She had this little hope that would be her loving alpha but when she found out that you got together with Cat, she was broken into tears.
“You know she’s single right? Cat dumped her during the summer.” Sam informs Lena.
The raven haired already knew that from Kara. She mentally keeps tabs on the older Danvers and Kara just feeds her information not knowing that she’s helping her. During the summer break, Lena would often visit the Danvers household to hang out with Kara and Alex but you were never there when she visited. You often found yourself helping your father or out with friends during the early morning.
“I heard it first from Kara.” Lena replies to Sam.
“I’m giving you permission to go after my knot head sister.” Alex surprisingly tells her.
“Your sister doesn’t know I exist. Plus why would she want to date a small nerdy omega?”
It’s true that Lena is a nerd but she’s the most popular nerd in the whole school. She takes advanced classes, joins after programs and clubs to help boost her chances into getting into MIT. Lena is sure that you only saw her a few times ever since you met through your sisters and swears that you don’t remember her.
The school bell rings and everyone heads to their first class of the day.
During Lena’s history class, she doesn’t bother to give her full attention since she already knows everything and already did advance research of U.S history during the summer break. At the moment, Lena was thinking how it can be possible to date the oldest Danvers but it can be nearly impossible. Omegas are not known to court alphas. She wonders if she can grab the alpha jock’s attention but since she’s a Junior, she knows that she won’t have any classes with her. Lena nearly gives up on the silly idea. Maybe she’ll just need to move on.
***
It’s nearly the end of the day and Lena is looking forward to her last class, Microbiology. A class where only seniors can take but Lena’s mother, Lillian, helped talk the school board into letting Lena take the class since she already took all the other science classes and passed with A’s.
The raven haired was one of the few to arrive early and picked a seating of her choice. She picks a seat in the back to not draw much attention to herself for the semester. Lena keeps herself but checking her phone while the seniors pour themselves inside the room.
She felt a little lonely for not having friends in this class but she was content that she has classes with Sam and Alex. She also has elective classes with Kara and Winn. A few seniors recognized Lena on the way in and had a short conversation with the only junior in the class. Andrea Rojas, a cheerleader that Lena is friends with, sits before her.
The microbiology teacher who’s also the coach of the football team, starts to take attendance. It goes by alphabetical order and everyone just quieta down to hear their names be called.
“(Y/N) Danvers?!” Mr. J’onn J'onzz says out loud.
Lena’s head perks up and scans the room to find the older Danvers but apparently she’s nowhere to be found.
“Danvers?” Mr. J’onzz calls out again. He scans the room carefully and looks for anyone connected to the missing student.
“Gand! Where’s (Y/N)?”
Mike also known as Mon-El, a football player, answers, “I- um. I actually don’t know Coach.”
“Since she’s not here she better be at practice or else the whole team will be doing suicides for warm-up.” The coach threatens.
Mr. J’onzz is upset that his star player has ditched class but he resumes to take attendance and start the lecture. Lena wonders where the alpha jock went, she hides her phone under her desk and texts another senior she knows. She doesn’t want to text either of the Danvers sisters.
Lena: Mags, do you know where (Y/N) is at?
Maggie: Big D? Nope. She should be in class. Why?
Lena rolls her eyes at the older Danvers’ nickname. She can’t believe people call her that but she blushes on the reason why she earned that name. There’s been rumors going around that (Y/N)’s dick is huge and was exposed during one of the wild highschool parties.
Maggie was the one who started the nickname and decided to nickname all the Danvers sisters as well. She called Alex “Mid D” and Kara “Little D or Little Danvers.” Little did everyone know, all the Danvers have huge cocks and their girlfriends can certify that information.
Lena: She’s supposed to be in my microbio class.
Maggie: Hmm. I’ll look into it
The raven haired locks her phone and pays attention to the lecture again. It was long until Lena’s phone vibrated a text message.
Maggie: So . . Big D is getting a BJ from one of the cheerleaders.
Of course. Lena thought to herself.
“Okay class! This semester I’m going to pair you up with a partner. The project will be about collecting samples from different environments and studying what type of bacteria is out there. The due date is TBA but I suggest you start it early and not last minute. The project is worth 300 points of your grade.” Mr. J’onzz announces.
The teacher proceeds to read of the pairs of students for the project in his clipboard. The students were getting noisy as the pairs were being announced. A few were disappointed in who they got while others were filled with joy.
“Lena Luthor! You’re partners with (Y/N) Danvers!”
Lena looked up quickly when she heard her partner’s name. She sees that half of the class looked at her when they found out that their most cherished alpha is partners with a junior omega who’s known for her genius side. The raven haired caught a few omegas looking at her with disgust but she managed to ignore.
“Fuck.” Lena mumbled to herself. She can’t believe she’s paired off with her long time crush. It can’t be that bad right? She’s close with the younger sisters, doesn’t mean she can’t be friendly and close with the oldest Danvers sister as well. Or can she?

Best Friends Who Kiss? - Luke Patterson x Reader
“Can you make one where I’m best friends with Luke and everyone else (But little does Luke know I actually love him, everyone else can see it, but him.) I’ve liked him almost all my life...”
(This is the least amount of dialogue I’ve written in awhile, but with the way that it was requested, this style just felt right. let me know if you hate this style?)
It started out at recess in 2nd grade. She sat on the swings alone when he approached her, sitting in the adjacent seat. She looked up and smiled at him, and he, toothless and all, introduced himself to her.
“I’m Luke.”
After that, she was there through all of his fights with his mom, all of the ego-driven fights he had with Bobby over creative rights to their band's music, and the heartbreak over girls she barely knew. He was there through for her through all the trauma that came with her dad’s anger issues, her lackluster love life stories, and her frustration stemming from her art and her lack of confidence.
The rest was history. Quite literally after the accident. There was one thing that was for certain, that Y/N’s feelings for Luke stayed the same in life and death. His were a little less clear. After entering the world of 2020, they met Julie and she saw a spark in him that she had missed, even when he was playing with Bobby and the boys.
Luke started playing the guitar and singing back up vocals for Julie with the band, and the fire in his eyes was rekindled. Sometimes she sat in on rehearsals, but most of the time Luke was so preoccupied he didn’t even really speak to her the entire time she was there.
She started leaving a little earlier every day before rehearsal ended, making her way back to the park where they met in hopes that he’d join her. He never did, but she’d sit in the swing for a while and think about him and different moments between them.
Like the time when they were 11 and they were riding bikes when Luke fell and broke his arm in two places. She remembered him pointing to her in the emergency room and demanding that she was in the room with him, otherwise, he wouldn’t go in. He got his way and she sat next to him for hours during the stay.
Or when they were 14 and Luke had his first real date that ended in disaster. He showed up on her front porch that night because he just “wanted to hear her voice” and tell her all about the tragic events. That was the night that he told her that he didn’t think anyone would ever get him the way she did. She remembered her heart fluttering at those words.
Nothing ever happened between them though, and she was convinced now that even when her emotions got the best of her, Luke’s feelings were always platonic. She watched him sway and sing with Julie with this look of admiration she hadn’t ever seen before. Their voices and energies blending so seamlessly. Julie was so kind she couldn’t even find it in her heart to get angry at her. After they visited the nightclub the day of Julie’s performance she was certain that she had to make a decision. Caleb had an offer that wouldn’t be perfect, but it would be better than wallowing in self-pity every single day and masquerading as a part of a group that didn’t even recognize when she left.
She knew the boys could fight it, but she wasn’t even sure she wanted to at this point. So tonight, she was going to do it. She was going to meet up with Caleb and accept his offer.
She grabbed her coat that was left behind in the garage when she saw one of Luke’s old flannels spread out on the couch. She grabbed it, placing it over her body before putting on her jacket. She looked around the room once more before poofing out the of the room.
The boys reentered the space after a late-night exploring, hyped on adrenaline. He spun around, looking for a nightlight or a slight lull of music that would let him know that Y/N was home. When he saw neither he began to pace around the room.
Alex stopped him in his tracks, looking at him with wide eyes “Woah, Luke chill what is going on?”
He looked up at his friend with tears raising in his eyes “Where is Y/N, you don’t think she went back to talk to Caleb, do you?”
Alex shook his head, squeezing his bandmate’s shoulders “Breath, we have no clue if that’s where she went, let’s not go all doomsday before we think about our options.
Luke nodded, trying to swallow with the knot in his throat. “She loves the beach…but it scares her to be alone there at night, even as a ghost.” He thought about it some more “She loves that record shop on 3rd…but she….wait.”
He stopped and looked at all of his friends in the dim light that sent a spotlight into the center of the room. “You guys stay here, I think I know where she is.” He left the room in a snap, transporting himself to a familiar swingset. There she sat on the swing, twirling the chains above her until she let them go and spun around quickly. A light smile fell onto her face but fell quickly as she landed at a standstill.
He was slow in his movements, inching quietly into the woodchips and sitting down without making a sound. She heard the jingling of the chains next to her and looked over panicked.
“Hey,” he said quietly, watching her face settle as her eyes met his
“Hi,” She gave him a weak smile before diverting her gaze to the stars.
“Please tell me that you’re here nostalgia's sake and not because you’re thinking about what I think you are…” He started, pumping his legs back and forth to bring himself into the air.
“I…I don’t know.”
He slowed, slamming his feet to the ground before facing her “You’re really just going to up and leave me, after all these years? You didn’t think I deserved an explanation? At least a goodbye? Y/N, I thought we knew each other better than that”
She sighed, leaning against the cold metal as she let tears softly fall down her cheeks. She finally makes eye contact with him again, shaking her head at him.
“Like you’d even notice I was gone, Luke.”
He was silent.
“Don’t get me wrong, I really like Julie and I think that she has made you a better musician… but you’ve replaced me and don’t even try to deny it. Reggie and Alex even forget that I live in the garage too half of the time. I’m like a ghost among ghosts, who even knew that was possible?!”
Her eyes fixed on the ground below her, she wanted to hear what he had to say. As he took a breath in, she shrunk a bit waiting for the worst.
“I….had no idea that you felt that way. I am, such an idiot. I haven’t even bothered to check in on you recently. Y/N I am so sorry.” She could hear his voice breaking and didn’t even need to look up to know that he was crying.
“It’s okay.”
He scoffed “Obviously it’s not fine when my best friend decides that disappearing into the night is a better option than being around me.”
She looked back up at him, shaking her head “That’s not what I meant Luke.” He stood up and walked over to her swing, standing in front of her. He leaned forward, inches away from her face. She felt her heart race at the proximity and the look in his eyes.
“Remember that night that I told you that you’re the only one who gets me?” She nodded, holding his gaze. “I meant that.”
She let the left side of her mouth raise a bit into a half-smile. Looking into his glossy eyes she got lost in so many times before, she didn’t know what to say. He didn’t wait for her to respond before continuing “I’m sorry I made you feel less than the most important person in my life because you are.”
She tried to speak but stopped her “Let me finish,” She nodded, letting him go on.
“I care about you so much, Y/N, and the fact that you even had to consider if that was true…it…” His voice shook a little as he took a breath in “It hurts a lot more than I could have ever expected.”
He got down on both knees in front of her to get at eye level. She bit down on her bottom lip as she looked at him, backlit by the moonlight and the street-lamps.
“I love you, Y/N.”
She wiped her tears onto her sleeve before responding “I love you too, Luke” He grinned at her, grabbing her cheeks into his hands and leaning in to kiss her lips. The kiss was soft and sweet and short, but it was enough to make her feel like it was a summer day on this cold autumn night. When they pulled away, he leaned his forehead against hers.
“Please come home with me, please stay.”
She looked into his eyes, feeling his thumbs rub her cheeks ever so slightly. She nodded. He smiled through his tears, standing up and extended his hand toward her. She took it and rose to meet him. They interlocked their hands and walked the long way home.

Lost Time II // Luke Patterson
Summary: Weeks after discovering his greatest joy Luke visits his former girlfriend to make up for the lost time. Unable to do it alone his band gives their support to find her and stand by his side as he faces his greatest regret.
Warning: Talk of death, allusion to homophobic parents, teen pregnancy and angst
Words: 3.1k
The book Midnight Club by Christopher Pike came out in 1994 but to fit this fic the book came out in 1993. Also, Alex’s last name will be Mitchell in this.
*For the sake of the story the time frame has been altered, it takes place in the mid-2000s. Also! I tried to make the reader as generalized as I could to make sure that everyone can relate. The reader is Alex’s sister, for inclusion that can be biological, adopted, half or stepsiblings. I want to make sure all people can be the reader.
A/N: Jesus I love Ben with my entire heart and I am a cruel person to have ripped Luke and Ben from each other before they had a chance. Enjoy!
Part One
Masterlist
Los Angeles, 1993
A sunny summer day spent outside reading a new book that had come out recently nestled in your hands under the large tree. The tree that had many tire swings before your parents caved to get a swing set. Now the tree was a companion on lovely days providing shade under the hot sun.
Alex was at band practice with the rest of Sunset Curve in the garage, or studio as Luke deemed it. More often than not, you would be in the studio watching them rehearse, but things changed, things had gotten more serious with Luke in the past six or so months. Plus, Bobby seriously was someone you wanted the least amount of time spent with.
“Hey.” Luke sighed, dropped on the faded blanket you had settled on. Raising one finger, you finished the page before placing the bookmark in.
“Hi.” You grinned leaning in as he pressed a kiss to your soft lips, “Used my Chapstick again?”
Luke hid his face in the crook of your neck, “I’m addicted to it, or it’s just your lips.”
He snuck another kiss before nudging you to adjust lay against his chest between his legs, a familiar position. One where you could read a book, and he could wrap his one arm around you while he wrote in his songbook with the other. God, you loved the boy with your entire heart.
“How’s the book?”
“It’s okay.”
“What’s it about?” Luke asked, wrapping his arms around your midsection.
“Five terminally ill teens living in a hospice tell scary stories every night. They all made a pact together that whoever died first would have to try to contact the others.” You sighed, dropping the book beside you to rest your arms on his.
“Sounds depressing.” Luke hummed, pressing a kiss to your neck, “I can think of more exciting things to do.”
“Over my dead body.” Alex snickered walking passed the young couple on his walk to the house. Reggie following after him with a laugh of his own; it was still odd to see Luke so loved up.
“I was talking about going to a concert!” Luke called out as his friends entered the Mitchell house, leaving the couple alone.
“You totally were not.” You spoke already knowing the answer as Luke nodded his head, “It’s a shock he lets us be alone.”
Turning to face Luke, you couldn’t help the blush that grew from the soft look in his eyes that you had only noticed after he asked you out. The boy had had a crush for a long time even if it was awkward given the previous thing he had with Alex.
“He’ll have to get used to it.”
“So, have you gotten a gig at The Orpheum yet?” You asked, shifting again to nestle against his side content to spend the time there in the backyard.
“Nah, we booked some smaller venues, but we’ll get there. I know it.” Luke was completely confident that one day he would be playing in the most popular venues. The other thing he was confident was his relationship.
“Where will I be?” You spoke looking at the recently turned sixteen-year-old boy who had quickly become the most important thing in your life. Never expected to fall in love with Alex’s ex-fling.
“Cheering us on. Have to have my number one supporter and wife because she’s been there since the dream began. The dream just expanded?”
“Wife?” You breathed.
“I’m not dating you just to date. I’m dating you because when I dream of my future, you are right there next to me.” Luke admitted caressing your cheek the pad of his thumb, “Wherever in the world, we find ourselves I want you there.”
“What about kids?”
“We’ll have as many as you want. Or however many we are lucky to have.” Luke breathed growing more excited as he finally revealed his ideas and firm belief, “Of course I want to be married first. After The Orpheum I want the next thing to focus one hundred percent on is a wedding that you deserve and-“
“Ask me.”
“What?”
“Ask me.” You raised to your knees cradling his face in your hands, “That’s what I dream of too. Having a career but something that lets me travel with the love of my life and my chosen family.”
“It’s not how I want…I want it to be special and romantic because you deserve it.” Luke adamantly spoke, pressing his hands on yours still resting on his face.
“Luke. I love you. Just sitting here like we are is special and romantic.”
“Will you marry me?” Luke whispered, leaning to press his forehead on yours. The orange beanie tickling your skin.
“Yes. As soon as I turn eighteen.” You didn’t care if you had two more years to wait. As long as Luke was by your side, you didn’t care about how you got married just as long as you married him.
Los Angeles, 2004
There are times that Reggie knows that the last thing people need is his goofy personality and jokes. When Luke returned from wherever he had gone, it was evident that something had drastically changed since the last time they had seen him.
“Luke?” Reggie gently spoke hesitantly moving to the boy curled on the couch, sobbing into his hands. Reggie had never seen Luke like this before, not even when it cemented that they had died and Luke’s future with Y/N shattered in a moment.
“Reg-“ Alex poofed in next going stock still at the distraught teenager. His eyes widened as he quickly made his way to Luke, “What’s wrong?”
“I-I saw Y/N.” Luke choked out, shaking his head, “I knew it would hurt, but it felt like I died again. Like I literally watched my hopes and dream just shatter before me.”
Alex was quiet taking in that Luke had seen Y/N. Alex missed his sister with everything in him, but Luke had plans.
“How is she?” Alex whispered, grabbing the hands of one of his best friends in the entire world. The one guy he had wholly trusted with his sister’s heart.
“She looks so good. God, it’s been nine years for her but only a few weeks for me. She’s more beautiful than I remember.” Luke breathed, raising teary eyes to meet Alex and Reggie’s concerned expressions, “I also saw Ben.”
“She got married?” Alex questioned surprised, “Please tell me it isn’t Bobby. I don’t think I could stomach that.”
“His name isn’t Ben and he probably tried after deciding on a respectable time for it to be okay-“
“Reggie.” Alex hissed motioning him to stop talking while Luke knew that Bobby had had feelings for you, he didn’t think he would try anything.
“I don’t think she’s married, but Ben is definitely a big part of what I missed out on.” Luke sighed, picking at a loose thread on his jeans, “I’m sure you know that in the three years, I was actually alive and with her that things happened.”
“Things like…?” Alex trailed off having a feeling he wouldn’t want to know about whatever Luke was hesitant to announce.
“Um…well we were, I am in love.” Luke grimaced at how odd it was to word his feelings for a girl he had died while planning a future, “in relationships you show affection in particular-“
“Okay as you struggle to finish that I will.” Reggie spoke, turning to Alex, “Luke and Y/N as a couple were having sex.”
Alex’s eyes went wide at the blunt statement that he never wanted to hear again in his life because you were his sister! He didn’t need to even think of anything to do other than the kissing he sometimes walked in on. He knew already but didn’t want to know either.
“I died, leaving Y/N pregnant! Which I didn’t know about.” Luke shouted poofing to the other side of the garage when he saw Alex’s fist start to clench. He poofed to the loft when Alex appeared to his last place, “C’mon man!”
“You knocked my sister up!”
Reggie’s mouth dropped at the physical aggression that Alex was showing because Alex was more peaceful and non-violent.
“I didn’t know! He’s eight!” Luke yelped when Alex grabbed him in a headlock, “Dude! I didn’t know! We were gonna get married when she turned eighteen! I love her, man!”
Reggie pulled Alex away from the lead guitarist before a fight happened, and even though part of Reggie wanted to see Alex fight…he wanted Luke here as well.
Alex was quiet, “What does he look like?”
Despite the agony of not being there for his son Luke launched into a description of the little boy.
With a white lie out of Julie’s mouth, she had gotten the address from Emily and Mitch for Luke and Alex. The address led to a small house with pretty flowers and a bike in the front yard; the place where Luke’s son had been growing up in since he was two years old.
Julie’s fist raised, knocking on the white door listening as footsteps sounded on the other side of the door. The door opened, revealing a little boy with startling green eyes that he inherited from his father.
“Benjamin Lucas!” You huffed turning the corner with a frown, “You may be eight, but you are still not allowed to open the door alone!”
The little boy slouched at the greeting before his eyes met three boys behind the Peurto Rican pretty girl.
“Oh my god. He looks just like you!” Alex hissed to Luke unable to remove his gaze from his…his nephew. His attention pulled to the woman his sister had grown to be.
“Julie, right?” You spoke gently tugging Ben closer to you, “Can I help you?”
“Yeah.” Julie nodded, mumbled a thank you as you welcomed the girl into the small home you had made. It was small but perfect, “Did he get stitches?”
“Oh yeah! I guess you were there when he got hurt.” You nodded, moving a book from the couch for Julie to sit down. Your attention was on Ben as he went to the corner to play with toys, “He did. He’s kinda like my brother and his dad in that way.”
“Oh, god.” The overly familiar voice snapped your attention.
Sitting on either side of Julie were exact replicas of three boys that tragically died back in 1995, everyone froze. Even Ben looked up from the tension.
“Mama?” Ben asked, furrowing his brow.
“It’s okay Ben. Can you go to your room?” You asked, staring pale at the two people that you hadn’t noticed before. They hadn’t been visible to you at the time until they sat beside Julie. The scampering of feet and the gentle closing a door left you alone with four people.
“She can see us.”
Mutely you nodded at Alex’s statement slouching into the couch in shock, “What is happening?”
“I found a CD in my garage, and I played it. Out of nowhere, Luke, Reggie and Alex literally appeared in the room. They’re ghosts.” Julie spoke softly, “I’m not sure how I can see them, but I can.”
“Wow.” You breathed leaning back into the couch, unable to tear your gaze from the three boys, “Let me guess. Your first order of business was haunting the hell out of Bobby?”
Bobby, Trevor as the world knew, had lived up to your predictions of him being a lowlife rat boy. If you didn’t have Ben, you would have gone after him, but you couldn’t risk what little you had at the time.
“He stole our songs,” Luke grumbled crossing his arms so like you remember from years ago. He was still the passionate, caring musician you fell in love with so quickly.
“I know. I tried everything but with Ben…it was too hard, but hey he’s gotten little success from his new stuff. Guess he didn’t think of how stealing songs wouldn’t pan out.” You shrugged, twisting a ring on your finger that Luke gave you a few weeks after the spontaneous proposal.
“So Ben?” Alex questioned, leaning forward to rest his arms on his knees with great interest in the new topic.
The tsunami of happiness broke through the heavy fog of sadness when your favourite subject came around. Talking about Ben could go on for years you swore with the amount of love for him.
“His name is Benjamin Lucas Patterson. He’s eight years old and obsessed with music, they say playing classical music helps with mental intelligence. Still, he wouldn’t settle unless I played rock.” You laughed glancing over your shoulder at the closed door, “He adores Bear in the Big Blue House and Dragon Tales. Not fond of Barney or Sesame Street but he’ll still watch it.”
The guys ate it up listening to every detail of a little boy they missed even if they only recently learnt about him. Reggie was silent listening to your stories of the young boy.
“His prized possession…come with me.” You gestured turning to head to the bedroom, “I didn’t ask for a lot of baby stuff, just the essentials and anything someone could make. Sunset Curve. You guys were significant to us, so I wanted Ben to have that.”
Ben was settled playing with the cars by his toy chest barely glancing as four people came together. Julie decided to stay in the living room. With a hand, you grabbed the blanket Ben absolutely always needed. It was a homemade blanket made entirely out of clothing—one of Reggie’s flannels, a few shirts from concerts with Luke and clothing that Alex loved.
“Y/N,” Alex spoke, brushing his fingers over the worn material touched at the action of doing something so little yet powerful.
“I’m going, to be frank. After you died and I went to your fun-“ the word choked you as if you were back in 1995 sitting beside your mother wearing that black dress; a dress you burnt in the bathroom tub, “Mom found the test in my room. Rookie mistake. They weren’t thrilled about the baby and who the father was.”
“They kicked you out?”
“And Luke’s parents immediately welcomed me into their home. I owe them a lot, and Emily made this for Ben, she may not have approved of the band, but she knew it was important, so she wanted Ben to have a piece of his father’s greatest joy.”
“Mama? Can we have burgers tonight?” Ben asked quietly from his toys, “Can they stay for supper?”
Ben was shy with new people, but once he got to know someone, he was just like Luke with his bubbly and passionate personality. He was the spitting image of Luke with his hair and eye colour, but he got your nose and skin colour.
“If they want to.” You smiled, reaching over to pull the eight-year-old into your arms only wanting him to never grow up.
Alex, needing a break from the grief, wandered to a picture hanging on the wall that was a shadow box with his very first drum sticks. Underneath was Reggie’s old necklace that had to be replaced. Lastly underneath was the very first pick Luke used for the first song the band had performed.
“I’m Ben.” The boy spoke, meeting the eyes of the newcomers, “You’re the band that passed away, right?”
“Yeah. This may be confusing but Ben this is Alex, Reggie and Luke.” You replied, brushing his bangs away from his eyes. Ben returned to his quiet nature before looking at your eyes.
“That’s my family, right?”
In perfect sync, Alex and Luke started silently crying at the little boy’s words wishing that that night had never happened. It seemed at the time the right way to start the new chapter with one last street dog.
“Yeah, baby.” You cleared your throat nodding along to the innocent words your son spoke before he was wandering out of the room, “One hour of cartoons young man.”
“I’m gonna go.” Reggie spoke gesturing after the boy, “I wanna watch Cartoons.”
Reggie poofed out of the room following the little boy out of the room, leaving three sad people. The room was heavy in loss, so sad it could choke a person.
“Does Mom and Dad have anything to do with him?” Alex asked as the boys covered their grief by wandering around the bedroom. Taking in the pictures of Ben from throughout the eight years, some with you or with his paternal grandparents. Few had Alex and your parents.
“They moved a few months after you died.” You admitted, “After the way they reacted to Ben I didn’t want him in that environment. We get Christmas cards and calls on his birthday, but I don’t have the time to travel.”
Alex nodded vividly remembering the way they reacted after he had told his parents that he didn’t like girls. It was challenging since Dad was always excited for the family name to be passed down, he didn’t see that the name could continue no matter who Alex loved. Mom was more open but stepped in line with her husband instead of her hurting son.
“I’m sorry.” Luke blurted stepping closer to you, allowing you to see the ocean of tears and pain swimming in his tortured gaze, “I shouldn’t have gotten that street dog. I should have stayed with you, you weren’t feeling good.”
“Things happen for a reason, Luke.” You sadly reminded the boy, “I wish it didn’t happen, but it did, and I’ve learned to live with that. Ben has a wonderful family and a good life.”
“He knows about us too,” Luke spoke, thinking back to barely half an hour ago when Ben acted as if he knew Luke all his life. God, Luke wished he could have seen everything.
“I have videos of Ben if you want to see them.” You offered the boy, “There’s a television in the den where Ben has his baby book, and the home videos if you want. You can stay in there all you want.”
Luke nodded, playing with his fingers, “I’d love that.”
“If you want to be alone, I can take Ben for ice cream. You can have the whole house to watch alone.” You graciously offered the boy you would always love and believed before that you would see him in decades after your own death.
Luke silently nodded following as you took him to the den where it had a child-sized guitar and floor to ceiling bookshelves. A television was tucked in the corner with a video camera stored on a shelf with a VHS player. In a sealed container, the home videos were kept safe along with the baby books.
“I’ll be back in a few hours. It’s nice to see you, Luke. Really.” You told the now younger boy keeping his eyes on the opened bucket. A bucket that held all the firsts he had missed out on a little boy he had loved since first seeing him in his family home weeks ago.

Luke and (Y/N) knew each other since they were kids. They had been neighbors since childhood, so it wasn’t uncommon for them to be playing with each other in their adjoining backyards most days. But time went by and slowly they got older. On his 8th birthday, Luke had gotten a guitar and quickly realised his dream of becoming a rock star. After meeting Alex Mercer and Reggie Peters in middle school, the dream slowly became reality. Sunset Curve was born. (Y/N), on the other hand, took on violin instead.
As time passed, they slowly began to grow apart. One would describe Luke’s style of music and dress as more rock n’ roll grunge. (Y/N), however, looked the total opposite, elegant, poised, which could also be heard through her playing throughout the neighborhood. (Y/N) listened to classical music and took ballet lessons while Luke continued his guitar lessons and went to ice hockey practice. It seemed like after all this time, the two had nothing in common anymore.
Now they were in high school and they barely knew the other existed anymore. The only times Luke saw (Y/N), even though they were still neighbours, was when they ran into each other in the hall or if they just so happened to leave for school at the same time, which these days was very rare. (Y/N) was quite the early riser, and was often already off on her way while Luke was still lying in bed half asleep. Though they had two classes together, they hardly spoke to each other. It was as if their friendship before this had meant nothing.
Sometimes Luke missed the old days. Back then, (Y/N) didn’t seem too different from him. He could still remember them sitting in his treehouse, sharing gummy bears and listening to an old Led Zeppelin album. Now all she ever seemed interested in was studying. But even despite their different paths, they talked to each other from time to time. Their parents, on the other hand, were still very close. Occasionally they met at one of their homes, cooked together, talked about their jobs and even more so about their kids. Luke had learned from his parents that (Y/N) planned to go to Harvard once they graduated. Of course, when they told him that, he couldn’t stop himself from rolling his eyes. He knew his parents wished he had the same or at least similar plans for his life. But Sunset Curve was finally starting to take off. After they played their first gig at a small bar in L. A., more and more bars and clubs were willing to let them perform. Luke had loved rehearsals before, now they were even more fun, especially knowing that they’d get to perform their new songs in front of more people than just Bobby’s parents. Bobby became a part of the band when he moved to L. A. four years after they had formed. With Bobby’s arrival the band not only found a rhythm guitarist, but also a place to rehearse. Before that, they had to rehearse in Reggie’s basement, between boxes and useless junk. Then of course his parents constantly fighting upstairs didn’t make for the best working environment.
Whenever Luke fought with his parents and just needed space to clear his head, there was no better place for him than a small shed in Bobby’s backyard which they had affectionately dubbed their studio. The words from his parents still rang in his ears as he pulled out his bike, guitar case slung over his back.
“Why can’t you be more like (Y/N)?! She has good grades and a bright future at Harvard!” His mother had wailed.
“Being a rockstar is not a realistic goal, it won’t bring you any money or stability.” His father tried to convince him.
Every time it was always the same. Luke jumped onto his bike and made his way through the backyard towards the gate, when he stopped in his tracks. In the corner of his eyes he could make out a dark figure, running through the yard next to his. At the end of the driveway, he could make out the lights of a car, shining through the trees and the figure running towards it. When the figure finally came into the light, Luke could finally see who it was. She turned around, taking one last look at the house behind her before she opened the car door and got in before promptly speeding off into the darkness. Who did (Y/N) just leave with?
--
Luke was tired the next morning. Despite spending the night in the studio, far away from the trouble with his parents, the young guitarist hadn’t slept a wink. His mind was racing with thoughts of (Y/N) and the mysterious person she had left with. During their lunch break at school, he told his band members of the encounter. “Wait, you mean to tell us that (Y/N), the definition of the perfect daughter, snuck out?” Bobby asked in disbelief.
Luke nodded. “Yep, got into a car with someone. Can’t say for certain who it was.” The eyes of the four guys wandered to said girl, who was sitting with her friends at a table not far away from their own.
“I’ll dip into the school gossip and see what I can find out. I’ll deliver the goods.” Alex smirked. And deliver he did at their band practice later that day. “So you know Tori, the girl who sits next to me in chem class and never shuts up? She told me that she heard from one of her friends, who was told by one of his friends that (Y/N) was spotted with Brandon Jones in the back of the library.”
“Brandon Jones?” Luke asked with a raised eyebrow.
Alex nodded “Yeah, the captain of the football team who always drives a really expensive car.”
“How do they even know each other? Isn’t he usually on the brink of suspension?” Reggie asked curiously to which Alex shrugged.
“Well, well, well, seems like your little (Y/N) likes bad boys, Luke.” Bobby laughed, while throwing an arm around Luke’s shoulders.
Luke quickly shrugged it off with a grimace. “She’s not my (Y/N).” He snapped. “It just surprises me that she sneaks out to meet him. That doesn’t sound like her.”
“Yeah, ‘cause you know her so well after barely talking to her for years and only making eyes at her from afar.” Bobby countered.
“I’m not making eyes at her!” The guitarist defended himself much too quickly to be believable. Back in the day when he still was friends with (Y/N), he may have had the tiniest of crushes on her. Luke had to admit that (Y/N) was indeed very beautiful, but he most certainly wasn’t making eyes at her as Bobby had suggested.
--
A few days passed. Luke sped through the house looking for his jacket so he could get going to band practice, which he was already running late for. “Mom, Dad. I’m going to Bobby’s” He shouted through the house, hoping his parents had heard him. Finally finding his jacket under his bed, he shrugged it on as he made his way through the kitchen.
He was about to open the back door, when his mom appeared behind him. “Don’t you have a french test to study for? (Y/N)’s father told me about it.” Emily looked expectantly at her son, arms crossed over her chest.
Luke rolled his eyes and turned around. “Yeah, that’s why I’m going to Bobby’s. We’re gonna study together.” He lied convincingly.
Emily nodded slowly, a bit skeptical. “(Y/N) studies every night alone and gets good grades. Maybe if you would just concentrate more, you could study alone, too.” Emily suggested. Luke laughed silently. (Y/N) studying every night? That was rich, if only her parents really knew their daughter.
Luke mentally shook his head out. “Sure, but Bobby is better in french than I am. So he can help me. Work smarter not harder, isn’t that what they say?” He shrugged.
Emily looked at him thoughtfully. “You could study with (Y/N). She’s nearly fluent in French now.”
Luke nodded, a slight laugh escaping his lips as he opened the door. “I’ll think about it, alright? Now I really have to go!” He quickly said and made his way outside, slamming the door behind him. He couldn’t be late, after all Sunset Curve was playing another gig tonight. Luke took his bike from its spot against the fence and made his way towards the gate to the front yard when he suddenly saw a figure out of the corner of his eye again. Her hair was flowing in the wind as she quickly made her way through the darkened yard only this time instead of just watching, Luke went after her. Before (Y/N) could reach the car that was waiting for her behind the trees, Luke touched her shoulder. Startled, she let out a yelp of surprise as she spun around. “(Y/N)?”
“L-Luke...hey.” She laughed nervously.
“What are you doing out here?” He asked her confused, he was half expecting her to be up in her room studying like the perfect little princess she was.
(Y/N) clasped at his wrist and pulled him behind the trees, out of the sight of her house. “Don’t you dare tell my parents about this!” She hissed at the guitarist through gritted teeth.
Luke laughed. “What? That their little princess is sneaking out?”
“I’m not a princess!” She angrily countered.
Luke shook his head “Nah, you’re right, you’re clearly the living definition of a goody-two-shoes. Such a good girl, eager to please.”
(Y/N) rolled her eyes “You clearly forget everything you thought about good girls.”
Luke furrowed his brows. “What do you mean?”
Suddenly a voice interrupted both of them “(Y/N) you’re coming?” Brandon Jones, cool as ever with a cigarette poised elegantly between his lips, sat in the car beside them, looking with raised eyebrows at the girl in front of Luke.
(Y/N)’s gaze wandered between the two boys “I gotta go.” She murmured as she opened the car door. But before getting inside she paused and turned to Luke again. “Good girls are bad girls that haven’t been caught.” She winked as she got into the car immediately rolling down the window. “Now be a good boy and just turn around and forget about this encounter, alright?”. With that, she sped off leaving the guitarist standing there dumbfounded. Luke shook his head in disbelief, what had just happened?
When he arrived at Bobby’s, (Y/N) words were still running laps through Luke’s head. He was quick to tell the rhythm guitarist about the encounter. “‘Good girls are bad girls that haven’t been caught’.” Bobby murmured.
Luke nodded. “That’s what she said. Sounds pretty rad don’t you think?” He looked at the other guitarist who nodded in agreement. “Yeah...” Suddenly it was extremely and rather awkwardly quiet. “Do you think that they-” Luke started.
“Are seeing each other?” Bobby finished his friend’s question, the lead guitarist nodding in confirmation. “Would it matter?”
Luke shrugged. “I mean, I just don’t want her to see her being pressured into something she doesn’t want to.”
Bobby laughed quietly. “OR you just don’t want her doing anything with Brandon.”
“Okay, I am definitely not jealous!” Luke countered, shaking his head.
“I never said you were, but now that you mention it…”
“Oh shut up...besides I’ve barely spoken to her in years!”
“But people don’t really change that much!” Bobby countered.
Luke huffed dramatically. “Well she did!”
“I don’t know about that, bro. Sneaking out? Doesn’t really sound like the (Y/N) we know from school.” He paused a moment. “The (Y/N) you knew when you were younger, the one you’ve told me about, that’s her down to the letter.” He shrugged as rose from his spot. “But enough about this. We’ve gotta go pick up Alex and Reggie. Otherwise we’re going to be late!” Luke quickly nodded, grabbing his guitar before following Bobby outside.
The club was completely packed with people. Luke could hear the audience’s chattering from backstage. “This is so cool!” Reggie excitedly said after taking a look through the club. “There are so many people here from school, too!”
Luke took a deep breath. Adrenaline was starting to course through his veins. He could practically hear his heart beating in his chest as the band made their way onto the stage. He blinked a few times as he tried to get used to the spotlights. His gaze drifted down through the crowd in front of them as they quickly set themselves up. Suddenly he stopped. At the back, right next to the bar, there she was standing. Their eyes met and a small smile played around her lips. Luke laughed to himself quietly before taking a step closer to the mic. “We’re Sunset Curve!”
After their gig, Luke made his way through the crowd. Everytime someone patted his shoulder to tell him how good they were, she nodded thankfully but his eyes always stayed fixated on (Y/N). When he finally stood in front of her a giggle left her lips “Good show, Patterson.”
He smirked, leaning against the bar. “Thanks.”
“Just like we imagined when we were kids.” She slightly bumped against his shoulder.
The guitarist felt his heart beat faster at this. Nervously he rubbed the back of his neck. “I guess.”
“So that’s what you’ve been up to all this time...?” She quietly asked, her gaze drifting through the crowd. Luke nodded in reply. “And soon you’re gonna be famous!” She smiled suddenly much more excited.
Luke laughed “I think that’s still a long way off. What about you? What’ve you been up to?” He asked her curiously.
“Oh, you know violin and ballet lessons, the usual. I haven’t told my parents yet that I’m sick of it!” She nonchalantly took a sip from her coke and looked at him.
Luke furrowed his brows, he was genuinely confused. “I thought that’s what you liked? I mean you got your violin around the same time I got my guitar.”
(Y/N) shook her head “I practically begged my parents to get me an electric bass so we could form a band but they got me a violin. Said it would be better for me.”
Luke was surprised at those words. “A band?” He saw (Y/N)’s cheeks taking on a pink shade.
She shrugged. “Like Led Zeppelin.” Suddenly ‘Whole Lotta Love’ started to blast through the speakers of the club. (Y/N) laughed “That’s creepy. Like they’ve been listening to us talk about it.”
But Luke barely listened to her. Instead he had been transported back to 1987. He had just found the old Led Zeppelin EP in one of his dad’s boxes he kept into the attic. He had immediately called (Y/N) to meet him in the treehouse. They had been listening to the songs when suddenly (Y/N) had told him about her best female friend (Y/F/N), who had told her that she had kissed Fynn, a boy from their class. “Like a real kiss? On their lips?” Luke had asked with wide eyes. He, of course, had asked her if she ever had kissed a boy on the lips. (Y/N) had admitted that she had never. In her childish recklessness, or could it be her boldness, she had told him that he was the only one who she would have wanted to kiss. Luke remembered how nervous he had been, when (Y/N) had leaned in, ‘Whole Lotta Love’ playing in the background when their lips touched but for a short second.
Luke looked wide-eyed at the girl in front of him, who didn’t know the memory that was playing in his head at the moment. His gaze fell from her eyes to her lips. Maybe Bobby had been right. Maybe (Y/N) hadn’t really changed that much and maybe he still had those feelings he had for her when he was smaller. He quickly shook his head. He couldn’t have those thoughts. (Y/N) was here with someone else. “So where’s your shadow?” He asked, referring to Brandon. He turned to the bar to order a coke.
She sighed “Having a smoke.”
“Already missing him?” He laughed.
(Y/N) huffed, slightly annoyed. “Yeah, sure.”
“I thought you were a thing?” Luke asked, turning to her again.
(Y/N) furrowed her brows “Who told you that?”
“Nobody. I just thought because you always sneak out to meet him and because you’re here together…?” He shrugged.
(Y/N) laughed. “No, I mean it’s fun to hang out but I would never...I mean...he’s a player and only plays with girls.”
Luke looked at her amused. “So you’re just hanging out with him for the sake of hanging out?” (Y/N) nodded.
“I was just tired of everything. Of my life. It seemed like a good escape, you know? But now...it’s really hard to make it clear to him that nothing will ever happen.”
“Just be careful, alright? I don’t think he’ll let you get off the hook so easy.”
(Y/N) shook her head “Soon he’ll get tired of me and look for someone else.”
“And what about you then?”
(Y/N) took a deep breath and turned to him, something obviously weighing heavily on her mind. “Luke, I-” She started, but before she could finish her sentence they were interrupted as an arm found his way around (Y/N) shoulder.
“I’m back.” Brandon smirked, eying Luke suspiciously.
“Hey Brandon.” Luke smirked, annoyance evident in his gaze, before turning to (Y/N) again. “It was nice catching up, (Y/N). See ya around.” With that he made his way through the crowd, trying to stop himself from thinking about (Y/N).
--
Days passed. Once again, Luke barely saw (Y/N) apart from their classes. He was sitting in his room, writing down the lyrics to a song that had been stuck in his mind for days, when suddenly the doorbell rang. He ran down the hall of the family’s ranch style home and was met with her beautiful eyes, when he opened the door. “(Y/N)! So good to see you!” Emily greeted with a big smile, appearing behind Luke. “Come on in.” Luke stepped aside to let the girl inside. With a questioning glance, he looked to his mother. “I called (Y/N)’s parents to ask if she could help you in french. I think that would be better than having to go all the way to Bobby’s, right?”
Luke nodded slowly “Uhm, yeah. Sounds good. Uhm, we could go into my room?” He suggested, looking at Emily.
His mother nodded “Yes, but leave the door open. I’ll bring you some snacks.”
Luke nodded in agreement and turned to (Y/N). “Shall we?” (Y/N) nodded in reply and followed him down the hall to his bedroom. “Take a seat, I guess.” He pointed to the chair in front of his desk as he took a seat on the bed. “What are you doing here?”
“Helping you in french.” She laughed.
Luke nodded slowly, a sly, teasing smirk appearing on his face. “And, uh, is Brandon alright with you hanging out with me?”
“Who cares?” (Y/N) rolled her eyes at the mention of his name. “Right after your concert I told him I couldn’t see him anymore.”
Luke furrowed his brows. “Why?”
“As I already told you, at first it was just an escape but...he wanted to do more the entire time and I just didn’t want to...at least not with him.” She laughed.
Luke looked at her, a playful glint in his eye. “Not with him, huh? So someone else has caught your eye then?” he laughed.
(Y/N) shrugged, casting her glance downward. “Maybe. But that won’t happen, so…”
“Why not?”
(Y/N) sighed, nervously keeping her gaze trained to the ground, before looking up at him again. “Luke...you see...I know we haven’t had that much contact over the last few years, but...I wish it was different and I’m sorry. I thought...well I had hoped...“ She paused, inhaling deeply. “Maybe we could start over? Being friends again?” She asked, hope evident in her voice.
Suddenly Luke felt his heartbeat just a tiny bit faster. “Friends?” He croaked, before clearing his throat. “You mean like back in the day?”
(Y/N) nodded. “Yeah, and uhm maybe…” She nervously played with the necklace around her neck. Luke’s eyes drifted to the pendant. It was the necklace he had given her when she had turned seven. Inside it he had put a picture of the both of them. (Y/N) eyes softened when she saw what Luke was looking at. She took the chain from around her neck and slowly took his hand, placing it in his palm. She looked expectantly at it before looking up at him. Luke opened it and found himself looking at his and (Y/N)’s younger selves. In the picture he had his arm slung around her shoulders. Both of them were smiling brightly.
Luke sighed as he smiled at the memory of that day. “I had a little crush on you back then.” He admitted quietly, staring at the toothy grin of her younger version.
“You did?” (Y/N) asked.
He nodded, his eyes never leaving the picture. “I was so sad when we stopped talking, but it...it had just happened, right?”
“I wish it hadn’t...I uh...I had a crush on you, too.” she murmured.
Luke laughed quietly, the pieces of the puzzle slowly falling into place. “So if we want to go back to how it was then…”
“You would have a crush on me?” (Y/N) smiled hopefully.
Luke shrugged. “Maybe I still do.” He felt his cheeks heating up as (Y/N) clasped at his hands.
“Maybe I still have a crush on you, too.”
Luke’s heart felt like it was going to beat out of his chest. His eyes met (Y/N)’s and he couldn’t stop his smile from growing wider if that was even possible. “Just maybe?” He asked cheekily, as he slowly leaned in closer.
“Alright, so definitely.” (Y/N) giggled as their lips connected in a tender kiss.
--
“Please, you have to come!” Luke whispered into the phone in the kitchen where the landline was. It was already dark inside the house, his parents already having turned in for the night.
“Okay, fine. But you tell my parents that you have a good influence on me the next time they see us.” She laughed through the speaker, before hanging up.
They met behind the trees at the back of their yards. He leaned in to greet her with a short kiss. “I missed you.” He murmured, hiding his face into her neck.
“We just saw each other a few hours ago.” (Y/N) laughed.
“That’s so long ago!” He countered as Luke got onto his bike and looked expectantly at (Y/N), who stood on the tire spokes behind him. “Hold on tight!”
The venue was filled with people dancing and chattering. (Y/N) followed Luke to the side of the stage. “Stay here so you’ll have a good view of the stage and that way I can see you, too.” He said, looking at her with a wide smile.
“Knock ‘Em dead, rockstar!” She beamed at him, leaning in to give him a good-luck kiss.
“Alright, enough of that lovebirds. We gotta go!” Bobby laughed, interrupting the cute moment pushing Luke toward the stage.
Reggie smiled at them. “Look at all the people! It’s gonna be sick!”
Alex shrugged nervously. “I hope they like us...”
(Y/N) smiled at the other band members “You’re gonna rock this, I’m sure of it!” She hugged them and wished them good luck, before the band went onto the stage.
Luke’s gaze immediately fell to his girlfriend, who gave him a thumbs-up. He winked at her before getting closer to the mic. “Hey, we’re Sunset Curve, thank you for having us.” The crowd erupted in cheers. “Thank you.” He laughed “We directly wanna start with a new song. It’s inspired by a person who means the world to me.” His gaze fell to (Y/N) again, who was smiling at him. “It’s called Good Girls/Bad Girls.”
“She said to me forget what you’ve thought, cause good girls are bad girls that haven’t been caught.”

“Sunset Curve, are we ready to rock?!” you run into the garage, holding up rock signs whilst yelling. This is the place you’ve spent every summer with the four boys you call your best friends. Every first of July, your parents would drop you off at your Auntie Emily and Uncle Mitch’s house while they were off doing work-stuff, or so they said. But you didn’t mind, really because those boys made your summers so amazing. Especially Reggie.
You’d met the boys years ago when they first started the band and your parents had dropped you off at the Pattersons over the summer. Alex quickly became your go-to for any problem, and you were the first person he ever told about his sexuality. Bobby turned out to be the person to prank the other boys with. And Reggie… Reggie is just Reggie. Amazingly goofy, really smart -- though people would say otherwise -- and the sweetest, kindest gentleman to ever grace this planet. He’s the sole reason you really came back this year. Your parents had given you the option to stay home alone this year since you’d become seventeen, but you insisted on going back to Los Feliz anyway. You didn’t want to spend an entire summer in your house with no friends to hang out with since they all went on holiday at the same time. No, you wanted to stay with the Pattersons and have a Reggie-filled summer. He didn’t know you had a crush on him, and neither did Luke. It’s better if they don’t know. The group dynamic would’ve been disturbed and that’s about the last thing you wanted. Only Alex knew, and that was enough. At least now you could blab about how cute Reggie was that day or about that funny thing he said to you. Alex had told you to tell him, but you refused to. That would be the worst thing you could do.
Besides, Reggie doesn’t even like you like that. And he has other things on his mind right now, like playing the Orpheum tonight. It’s been a long, winding road with lots of ups and downs, and trials and errors, but they finally did it. Sunset Curve is having a showcase tonight at the Orpheum. THE ORPHEUM. To say you’re proud would be an understatement.
“Someone’s excited,” says Alex with a smile as he comes out from behind the drum kit. They’d just finished rehearsing their set one final time before their soundcheck.
“Yes! My favorite band is playing at the Orpheum, you guys!” you’re jumping up and down all the way to the blonde boy to wrap your arms around his neck in a hug. “I’m so excited for you guys!” you sigh before letting go and turning to the other guys. Two out of three boys in front of you smile at you endeared, whilst the third one scowls at you. “What’s gotten your panties in a twist, Patterson?” you ask your cousin. “Aren’t you excited you’re playing the Orpheum? This has been a dream of you since I can’t even remember when!” he chuckles sarcastically while zipping up his guitar case.
“I would be more excited if my little cousin would be a little more covered up,” he grumbles. The boys look at your outfit, as do you. You’re wearing light blue jeans with a salmon pink off-the-shoulder cropped top. You thought it looked cool, but now that your cousin seemingly doesn’t love it, you begin to have your doubts.
“Really, Luke?” Alex chimes in, shaking his head, “I think she looks cute.”
“Yeah, but you’re gay, you’re not gonna be lustin’ after her,” Luke mutters. You chuckle at his lame excuse. Of course he would say that. You cross your arms at him, and purse your lips.
“No boy is ever gonna be lustin’ after me, Patterson, because you scare them all away,” you snarl at him with a raised eyebrow. This shuts him up right away. Or at least for a moment.
“Good. You’re too young for a boyfriend anyway,” he says instead.
“I’m one month younger than you, Patterson!” you scoff. For a second you think he’s being serious, but then that teasing smirk tugs at his lips, reminding you that he’s only playing.
“Just looking out for ya, cous,” he wraps an arm around your shoulders, guiding you out the garage with his guitar case in his other hand. “I need all them boys to know that if they ever hurt you, I’ll kill them.” Little do you know that Reggie’s behind the two of you, carrying his bass out the garage, and hears your entire conversation. He’s once reminded of why he can never act on his feelings. Luke would kill him if he even tried.
At the Orpheum, you help the boys set up their instruments and then sneak backstage for a while as the boys are talking to the showrunner at the venue. You walk through the labyrinth of corridors that give out on the dressing rooms left and right. But for some reason, the room at the end of the hallway screams at you. You don’t know why you’re pulled towards this particular room, but you find yourself opening the door cautiously. A creek echoes through the empty corridor, making you cringe a little. You hastily slip through the door and turn the lights on. The artificial blaze blinds you for just a moment. When your eyes have finally adjusted to it, you let them wander around. Over the seating area with the sofas and the couch, and then finally landing on the piano against the far left wall. As a smile tugs at your lips, you walk over and let your fingertips grace over the keys before pressing one and letting a note ring out through the room. The single note reminds you of the summer you’d spend teaching Reggie how to play. He’d constantly mess up and giggle, and then he’d watch you for a while as you showed it again, only for him to mess up again because he was looking at your face instead of your hands. And every now and again, your hands would brush over the keys, and you’d feel all giddy and warm inside. Especially when he gave you that look. That one look only Reggie can give you. You’ve tried to explain it to Alex, but in vain. There was no way to explain the way Reggie looked at you that summer. That was two years ago. That unexplainable look of his faded away, as did the brushing of the hands. He never asked to play piano with you ever again, which made you wonder what you had done to chase him away like that. You cried to Alex about it or stayed awake for hours wondering what happened.
Though there were no touches and no glances left this summer, you still remember the feeling it gave you. You remember it enough for you to get dizzy just thinking about it. With that dizzy feeling welling up inside of you, you sit down on the stool and make up a melody on the piano. Satisfied with how it sounds, you play it again and start making up words as you go. Something you and Luke did all the time whenever the other boys were busy in the summer.
“Just one touch, just one touch Just a touch of your love is enough To knock me off of my feet all week Just a touch of your love, oh Just a touch of your love, oh Just a touch of your love is enough To take control of my whole body Just a touch of your love, oh Just a touch of your love, oh”
“Ah, here you are!” The voice coming from behind you makes you jump, and you let out a squeal as you turn around hastily. Reggie’s standing in the doorway, an amused smile on his face. You clutch your heart as though it’s going to pop out any moment.
“Fucking hell, Reg. You gave me a heart attack!” He chuckles before walking up to you and joining you on the stool at the piano. Your heart skips a few beats while you’re trying to calm it down from getting startled so badly, which does not make it any easier.
“Sorry,” he mumbles and nudges your shoulder with his. “What were you singing? Sounded good.” A blush creeps up your cheeks, heating you up from the inside out.
“Just something that came up,” you reply as nonchalantly as possible.
“It sounded great,” he compliments once more. You look up at him for a moment, finding him looking down at the piano. There is something so calming and peaceful about him, but you could never say what it was. Maybe it's the vibe he gives off or the beautiful green orbs that could stare right into your soul. “Let’s see what I remember from your piano lessons,” he then mumbles before touching a couple of keys, letting a shrill sound come out.
You scrunch up your nose as he looks over at you with a nervous smile on his face. “Guess you should start teaching me again.” The sound of his laughter reminds you why you loved hanging out with him. Not because he’s the most beautiful guy you’d ever seen, but because he makes you laugh. There’s never been a day he didn’t make you laugh your ass off.
“Maybe you should just give up on the piano,” you say teasingly, which makes Reggie’s mouth drop open in fake shock. “Stick to the bass, Rockstar,” you pat his shoulder before getting up and making your way to the door. You turn your head to see if he’s following you, only to find him charging towards you at full speed. Your reflexes aren’t quite on point. Before you can run away from him, he already has a tight grip on you and throws you over his shoulder. You shriek at the sudden rush of adrenaline coursing through you before you burst into laughter, flailing your limbs about to try and get him to put you down again.
“Patterson, your cousin is being mean to me. Permission to throw her out?” You stop moving at his words. Of course, you’ll always be Luke’s cousin to Reggie and nothing else. Instead, you place your head in your hand, your elbow resting against Reggie’s back while the other hangs down. A big sigh leaves your body, and when Reggie feels this, he puts you back on your feet. He gives you a worried look first but after you offer him a convincing enough smile, the worry makes room for his happy-go-lucky personality again. “Don’t test me next time, Patterson,” he whispers before turning and heading to the stage where the other boys are. Alex gives you a knowing look, to which you just roll your eyes and go to the back of the venue where a girl is wiping down tables.
“We’re ready for soundcheck, Gil,” Bobby tells the sound guy. He gives the band a thumbs up and gets to working. You sit back on the bench, watching as the boys play a couple of songs from their set for tonight’s showcase. They sound wicked. But they always sound wicked to you. These boys are crazy talented and tonight’s going to change everything. For all five of you. They’re going to land an amazing manager that’ll help them climb the charts and get the best tours around the entire world, and you’ll still be Luke’s cousin, left at either your parents house or your Uncle and Auntie’s. Thinking of Emily and Mitch reminds you that you need to tell Luke to come back home soon. His mother is pretty much going crazy and it’s driving you crazy not being able to tell her where her missing son is. You keep telling her he’s okay, that he just needs some time. He’ll come back. You’ve been promising her for months now and he still hasn’t returned. You’ll force him tonight, after the show.
“That was the tightest we've ever played! Too bad we wasted all that energy on soundcheck,” you hear Bobby say as you approach the stage once they’ve finished.
“Alex, you were smokin’!” Reggie compliments the drummer as he steps down from his stage.
“Eh, I was just warming up. You guys were the ones on fire!” The blondie deflects humbly.
“Can you just own your awesomeness for once, Al?” you shout at him, a smirk tugging at your lips. All four boys look at you for a second before Reggie, Bobby and Luke turn back to Alex. “All right! I was killing it!” His answer makes you very happy. “To fuel up before the show I was thinking…” Luke starts, and you know exactly what he’s going to suggest. “Street dogs,” the two of you say in unison. “We’re thinking the exact same thing, cous,” you say with a smirk as Bobby hops off the stage, landing beside you. You turn your head, following him with your eyes as he moves to the table you were sitting at earlier. The one that girl was wiping down. “Hey, Bobby, where you goin’?” Luke asks, jumping down too, followed by the two other boys. You make your way to the table with them. “I’m good,” Bobby says over his shoulder in response, then turns to the pretty girl. “Vegetarian, could never hurt an animal.” You roll your eyes at the obviousness of his flirting. The dude isn’t even that strict a vegetarian. You’re pretty sure he had a hamburger for lunch earlier today. “You guys are really good,” the girl compliments, her accent thickly enlaced in her words. “Thank you,” Luke retorts with that flirty smile on his face. Another earned eye roll. “I see a lot of bands, been in a couple myself. I was really feelin’ it.” Luke pats Bobby’s back. “Ah, that’s what we do this for,” he says, then pushes Bobby back with his shoulder. “I’m Luke, by the way.” “Hi, I’m Reggie,” the bassist says, pointing at himself. “Alex,” he raises his hand while a smile tugs at his lips. Bobby then nudges Luke back, forcing his way in front of him. Even though they’re the best of friends, you have noticed Bobby getting jealous of Luke on more occasions than one. Mainly when it’s about the ladies. “Bobby,” he says in a deep voice. The girl then looks over at you as you’re standing between Reggie and Alex, leaning on each of their shoulders, but haven’t introduced yourself yet, thinking it was a band introduction. “Oh! I thought we were only doing the band,” you say, making the boys and the girl chuckle. “I’m Y/N. Luke’s cousin and band therapist.” The boys give you a questioning look. “Self-proclaimed,” you quickly add. “Nice meeting you guys. I’m Rose,” the girl introduces herself then. “Oh!” Reggie then starts and hands over the CD he’s holding. “Here’s our demo.” He hands her a shirt next. “And a T-shirt, size beautiful.” You remove your arm from his shoulder whilst biting the inside of your cheek, trying to withhold yourself from reacting badly to his obvious attempts at flirting. Alex scoffs and shakes his head in disappointment. The girl holds the shirt in front of her for a moment before flinging it over her shoulder with a smile. “Thanks! I’ll make sure not to wipe the tables down with this one,” she jokes, which makes you chuckle slightly. Mostly at the fact why these boys -- except Alex -- are so enthralled by this girl. Not only is she really gorgeous, she’s funny too. “Oh! Good call!” Alex starts, “Whenever they get wet, they kinda fall apart in your hands.” “Don’t you guys have to go get hotdogs?” Bobby asks, clearly wanting to get rid of all of you, so he can flirt with Rose without being disturbed or embarrassed by his friends. “Yeah,” Luke pushes Bobby away as he leans forward to Rose. “He totally had a hamburger for lunch,” you say in unison with your cousin, once again. Rose laughs lightly, but you’re not sure whether it’s at the two of you exposing your friend or at the fact you said it at the same time. Might be both too. The four of you make your way out of the Orpheum and onto Sunset Boulevard, chatting about that night whilst making your way to the hot dog vendor you’ve been to a couple of times. You try your hardest to ignore Reggie flirting with some fans at the door and focus on the night ahead. The night that’s going to change everything. And it does, but not in the way any of you had expected. That night, the four of you die from eating tainted hot dogs. At first, it just tasted a little off, then you began to feel a little queasy until the lights went out completely. The next thing you know is a dark room and hearing Alex’s soft sobs echo through the darkness. So… That was it for the four of you…
2020
Or that’s what you thought. After a while of being in that dark room and you holding Alex as he cried, you suddenly feel something pulling at you. It’s this weird force that keeps pulling at your skin, which makes all four of you scream until you finally land on a hard floor with a loud thud. Groaning and coughing from the impact of the fall, you get up, looking around at the very familiar surrounding you find yourself in. “Woah! How did we get back here?” Luke asks, realizing the exact same thing. You’re back in the garage, in the exact same spot you were this morning. All of a sudden, a loud, ear-piercing scream startles all four of you, sending you into a huddle of screams too. You just about catch a flash of yellow running out, the screaming fading away as the color did too. Long story short, apparently this girl Julie played the boys’ demo and pulled them back into the ‘real world’ but as ghosts. You’re a little weirded out about the whole ghost thing, and you don’t really know what to think of it. At least you still have the boys. “Hey! Let’s go check on Julie!” Luke suggests one day. He had suggested Julie to just perform a song for her teacher to earn her spot back in the music program with a song the four of you had written together back in the day. You’re stood at the sidelines with the three boys next to you, looking at the girl on the stage as she plays the keyboard, playing the notes you’d come up with way back when. “Sometimes I think I'm falling down I wanna cry, I'm calling out For one more try to feel alive And when I feel lost and alone I know that I can make it home Fight through the dark and find the spark” You and Luke both mouth the words along, shooting Julie encouraging glances as she continues. “Life is a risk, but I will take it Close my eyes and jump Together, I think that we can make it C'mon let's run” Suddenly, the boys poof away from you and onto the stage, instruments at the ready, to support Julie. You’re a little confused at first, but then a smile tugs at your lips as they, once again, start rocking out. “And rise through the night, you and I We will fight to shine together, bright forever And rise through the night, you and I We will fight to shine together, bright forever” The kids from Julie’s school have now all gathered at the front of the stage, confused and excited noises erupting from the mass of people. The boys seem equally as confused as you are. Those kids can see them. You decide to go around the crowd to get to the front of the stage. You catch Luke and Julie conversing, both of them looking out on the crowd with both confusion and exhilaration. “What’s happening, Reg?!” you shout at him, but he just gives you a confused shrug whilst Luke sings the next verse. “In times that I doubted myself I felt like I needed somе help Stuck in my head with nothing left I feel somеthing around me now So unclear, lifting me out I found the ground I'm marching on” You glance at the group of students, the couple of jocks closest to you are headbanging to the music, clearly enjoying themselves. All but one. He’s looking at you with a flirty smile on his face. Your eyes widen at this. He can see you too? Goldilocks -- his hair looks nearly gold -- nods at you curtly in a “what’s up?” kind of way, which sends a blush right to your cheeks. Reggie skips to the other side of the stage, not noticing anything of the interaction between you and the very alive and very attractive boy. “Life is a risk, but we will take it Close my eyes and jump Together, I think that we can make it C'mon let's run” “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you here?” the boy asks as he walks up to you. “I uhm… I’m with the band,” you reply pointing up at the boys on stage. Reggie skips all the way back to his microphone, your eyes locking as he shoots you a smile. “They’re really good! Where are you guys from?” You stutter and stumble, unsure of what to tell this boy. Your eyes dart from this boy to Reggie and back. “I’m not allowed to tell you,” you finally manage to come up with. “Management rules.” “Okay, can I at least get your name then?” “Y/N. Y/N Patterson,” you reply. There’s no use in lying about that part. Though Julie told you about Google and this boy might be able to look you up on ‘the Google’ and find out you died… But why would he do that? “That’s a pretty name,” he says flirtily and licks his lips. For a split second, you look up at Reggie to find him already looking at the scene unfolding before his eyes. “I’m Chad. Chad Avery.” “Nice to meet you, Chad,” you reply very politely, a smile tugging at your lips. “In times that I doubted myself I felt like I needed some help Stuck in my head with nothing left And when I feel lost and alone I know that I can make it home Fight through the dark and find the spark” Your eyes widen when you catch Julie walking through your cousin. How in the holy hell is she going to explain that to the school? You quickly look up at Chad, who’s too busy with his buddies to be able to ask you what that’s all about, so you take that opportunity to poof away from him, and get your ass to the very back of the gym. At the end of the song, the boys vanish from the stage, which earns a loud uproar of confusion from the students and faculty of Los Feliz High witnessing this. You find them at the side of the stage again, and decide to poof next to Alex. “That’s crazy! They could see us when we were performing but not when the music stopped!” Luke exclaims excitedly while Reggie shoots you an annoyed glance, but it disappears quickly as a thought pops into his head. “Oh! Maybe we should check!” he runs up the small flight of stairs and starts gyrating his hips. No reaction from the crowd whatsoever. “Yeah, I don’t…” he runs down again, “I don’t think they can see us.” You chuckle at his antics. That’s the Reggie you’ve fallen in love with. “I wish I couldn’t see you,” mumbles Alex under his breath, which makes you laugh even louder. Reggie glares at you, raising his eyebrows before turning around and walking over to the girl in the purple wig. Even though she can’t see him, he still attempts to flirt with her. The entire interaction makes you feel queasy and not at all at ease. “Ugh, please, kill me,” you mumble, earning a raised eyebrow from Alex. “Oh, you know what I mean,” you snap, annoyed at Alex for even trying to minimize how terrible you feel about the scene unfolding in front of you. But even more annoyed at Reggie for flirting with other girls even though you’re not a couple, nor will you ever be. He’s allowed to flirt, it just hurts. “Y/N,” Alex is going to try and reason with you, but you simply shake your head at him before poofing out of the school and back to the garage. The silence wraps around you like a comforting blanket, and that’s when the tears start streaming down your cheeks. You know you shouldn’t feel like this. Reggie can do whatever he pleases. You don’t own him. But it still hurts. It’s been more than twenty-five years of having a massive crush on him. That didn’t wash away with death. That burning, aching feeling you get whenever you see him is still there. And you doubt it’s ever going to go away. It’s there for eternity. “Thought I’d find you here,” Reggie’s voice startles you once again. It’s almost like a déjà-vû. You’re sat at the grand piano, delicately caressing the keys, but not finding the strength to write a song. No words could ever describe how you feel right now. “Fuck, Reggie…” you mumble, clutching your heart. In your mind, you’re scoffing at how familiar all of this feels, and you think Reggie realizes it too. He walks up to you and takes a seat next to you. Your shoulders are pressed together, and you’re trying your hardest not to show how nervous you feel. “Why’d you leave so suddenly?” he asks, twisting the hem of his flannel around his finger. “Just--needed some air…” you lie. You know you should tell him the truth. You’re literally going to spend an eternity with him as ghosts, might as well just come clean about everything. “Alex told me something different…” You scoff at his words. Of course Alex had to blab. “He didn’t tell me what it was, but he did say you were annoyed at me?” He pronounces his words carefully as if trying not to overstep. “What did I do wrong, Y/N? Tell me, so I can start apologizing because I’ve tried to wrack my brain to try and find a reason for you to be mad at me, but I just can’t…” he chuckles and shakes his head, “I can think of a few, but you’d never be annoyed about those.” You can’t help but laugh at that too. As the weight of the looming truth lands on your shoulders, you exhale slowly. There’s no way around this anymore. “I just--I couldn’t handle you flirting with that girl… I’ve watched you flirt with girls for years, biting my tongue not to say anything, but today was just… Too much…” you admit with your voice barely above a whisper. Reggie huffs beside you. “You’re kidding, right?” You look up at his furrowed eyebrows and darkened eyes. “You can flirt with whoever you want but I can’t?!”
You open your mouth to say something, but no words come out. He gets up from the stool and walks around the piano, halting on the other end. “I saw you flirt with that jock guy at Julie’s school and plenty other times when we were alive, Y/N! You think that didn’t hurt me?!” Frustration wells up inside you as you shoot up from your seat, leaning your hands on the keys, a distorted note echoing through the studio.
“I barely flirted with anyone when we were alive because you guys chased every fucking boy away, Reggie! You can’t blame me for flirting with one boy after being dead for twenty-five years!” He scoffs, now leaning forward on the piano too.
“Ever thought there might be a reason for us chasing those boys away, Y/N? Luke had his own and didn't know about mine but Bobby and Alex did! I told them to make sure no boy could ever touch you until I plucked up the courage to ask you out!” You’re stunned at his words for a split second, but then go back to the screaming match you were holding. There’s no time to properly realize he’s confessing his mutual feelings for you. “Maybe you should’ve just, I don’t know, Reggie, just a thought, asked me!” you yell at him, seething through your teeth. You’d much rather crawl across this piano right now and kiss him, but you’re frozen to the floor. “You try and ask Luke Patterson’s cousin out, Y/N! That man is impossible to get through! He’d never agree to me dating his little cousin!” Your tongue glides across your teeth as you mull over the next words in your mind. Back in 1995, you would’ve never dared to speak these words out loud, but so far in 2020, you’ve learned it’s okay for a woman to come up for herself. “Ever think about the fact that I am my own person, Reggie? That I make my own decisions about my life, my body, my heart? I decide who I love and who I date, not Luke. ME!” Your voice raises and your confidence gets a sudden boost after finally saying those words that have been written down in diaries multiple times, but never been said out loud. “Luke would’ve killed me if I ever told him I was in love with you, Y/N!” His voice matches yours now, which is equally as terrifying as it is extremely hot. You’ve never seen Reggie like this, he’d always been the guy that shrunk whenever someone would yell at him. He’s the one that would mutter an apology rather than come up for himself. “Well, you’re dead now, Reginald, what are you still waiting for?!” The words have only left your mouth about a second ago, but Reggie’s already charging up to you. He grabs your face and presses his lips forcefully to yours. You kiss back immediately, returning the passion and hunger he’s exhorting. This is what you’ve been waiting for, for years. You’ve dreamt about kissing him for so long, and now that it’s finally happening, you realize it’s even better than what you ever dreamt it would be like. “I can’t believe I waited this long,” he pants when you take a break from the intensity. “Yeah, me neither,” a very familiar voice chimes through the garage. The two of you look up to find Alex and Luke at the door, smirks on both their faces. “I had a bet going with Bobby how long it would take for the two of you to finally confess your love for each other. Guess neither of us won…” he explains nonchalantly while walking over to his guitar to grab it. “Wa-- Wait, you knew?” Reggie asks, his eyes darting over to you and then Alex. “Yeah, man. It was pretty obvious,” Luke replies, chuckling, whilst strapping his guitar around. “I mean, I heard you crying in your room about how much you loved him and how much it killed you not to be able to tell him,” he points to you, and a scarlet red colors your face immediately. “You were listening in on our phone calls?!” Alex asks, knowing the exact conversation they had that night. They talked about boys constantly, especially that one summer when Alex found himself falling for the lead singer of his band and best friend. They dated briefly, but figured out they were better off as friends, for the sake of the band. “Our walls were pretty thin, man,” Luke shoots him a teasing grin, “And you, Reggie,” he points at the boy next to you. “I caught you staring at my cousin all the time, and I just knew you didn’t shield her from flirting boys to protect my little cousin, you shielded them because you were jealous. It was so obvious, you guys! You’re not going to tell me this is the first time you realize the other’s in love with you too, right?!” Your cousin could get excited and passionate about a lot of things, but your love life was never one of them. “I was scared you’d kill me before I could even utter a word about my feelings for her,” Reggie mumbles, looking down at his shoes. “So, if anything, this is your fault, Patterson!” “Yeah, cous! All of this is your fault!” you agree, chuckling slightly at the widening of his eyes. “But you’re cool with this, right?” you ask, “I mean, he is your best friend, Luke…” His smile widens, the flicker in his eyes reappearing. “Of course I am, Y/N. I just want you both to be happy,” he replies with a shrug. “Now, let’s get rehearsing!” He plugs his guitar into the amp while Alex goes behind his drums. Reggie turns to you again, glancing down at you with that look of his he always used on you two summers ago. “Will you stay until after rehearsals? I wanna take you somewhere after.” You simply nod your head before leaning up and pecking his lips sweetly. He turns around to join the boys, grabbing his bass from its stand. Your teeth dig down into your bottom lip as a smile etches its way to your lips. Even though it’s taken you this many years, it finally happened, and you couldn’t be happier about it. You could finally kiss him and hold his hand and touch him. That electric touch you longed for, for so many years. His touch.

Amelia meeting Auston’s past hookups
A.N. When I got this request I was so excited to write it! It might be a bit different from what you were expecting but I don't really see Auston and Amelia being the type of people to flip out when they run into any of their exes. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for the request! P.S. I don’t know who any of Auston’s friends are from home so I kind of just made up some names sorry. I also know nothing about Jordyn so she could actually be a really great person and I just don't know it but for the point of the story she's not.
Word Count: 2,532
Master List
“Hey babe,” Auston said as he slid his arm around my waist pulling me in. He pressed a quick kiss to my cheek before leaning forward onto the bar to order a drink from the bartender. Auston and I were in Arizona for the offseason and we had gone out to the bars with Auston’s sister Alex and a few of Auston’s buddies. Alex and I had made our way to the bar and gotten some seats while the guys had played darts.
“What no hi for me?” Alex asked as she took a sip of her drink. Auston reached out and nudged her in the shoulder.
“Hii,” he said and then took a sip of his drink.
“How did darts go?” I asked glancing over to where his buddies were still standing with some girls now. His eyes followed mine before glancing back at the two of us.
“Good. I won,” he shrugged his shoulder before taking another sip. Auston shared a quick look with Alex silently pleading with his eyes that she leave the two of us alone for a moment. After a second she caught on and stood up.
“Well Imma go see if I can beat Clayton,” she said pushing herself up from the chair. Auston quickly slid into her chair and faced me.
“Why do you look like that?” I asked pointing my finger at him. He smiled softly as he reached out to push my finger down.
“I gotta tell you something,” he said leaning in closer. Hearing his nervous tone I felt myself sober up slightly as I took in his tense posture.
“Okay,” I reached out to grab my drink for a sip. He looked back over to his friends before letting out a soft sigh.
“Um uh, do you remember when I told you about Jordyn,” Auston said looking me straight in the eyes. I searched my brain for the name trying to remember who that was.
“Uh, I don’t remember,” I said after a moment and then reached my hand out to his thigh. He was so tense it was starting to worry me.
“She was someone I used to hook up with,” he said looking away. My grip loosened for a second as I remembered the model that he used to hook up with.
“Oh yeah. I remember you talking about her,” I mumbled loud enough for him to hear.
“Yeah. uh um, she's here. Like at this bar,” he reached up and rubbed the back of his neck as he glanced back at me. I took a deep breath.
“Where?” I asked calmly. He shared a look with me before pointing to where all his friends were standing with Alex and the model. I looked away back at my drink and picked it up before downing the rest of it. Auston looked at me in shock as he watched me finish my almost full drink.
“Um did she say anything to you?” I asked before waving over the bartender to order two shots.
“She came up and said hi. She also hugged me but I excused myself after to come over here,” he said, reaching out for one of the shots when they were placed in front of us. We clinked them together before taking them.
“Okay, and you broke things off with her right?” I asked my face screwing up at the tequila shot. Auston nodded his head placing his glass in mine.
“Why did you end things with her? And is she mean? Like is she going to come over here and try to make me feel like shit?” I asked bombarding him with questions. He looked thoughtful for a moment before shrugging.
“I ended things because I got bored of her-” Auston said. I knew that before Auston had met me he slept around a lot. We didn’t talk about it that often but I knew that Auston wasn’t ashamed of it but at this moment I could see that he felt bad for putting me in this position.
“But we weren't really anything we just hooked up. She’s kind of a petty person though so I don’t know how nice she'll be,” he finished.
“Do we have to go over there?” I asked. We glanced over to see her talking to Auston’s friend Matt her hand on his arm. I noticed Alex standing next to the high-top table with a bored expression on her face. When we made eye contact she sent us a help me look.
“How about we take another shot and we go over there,” Auston offered ordering another round from the bar. I frowned as I turned back to the bar but took my shot anyway.
“Alright let's do this,” I said, faking excitement as I stood up from my chair. Auston stood up after me and pulled me into a gentle hug before giving me a sweet kiss on the lips. When he went to pull away I moved my arms up to his hair and kept him in place as I made out with him for another moment.
“We got this,” I mumbled against his lips before pulling away and leading him over to our group. Once we made it to them I walked over to the hightop and stood by Alex. Auston stood behind me and pulled me against him so that his arm was wrapped around me. It didn't take long for Jordyn to make her way over to the two of us.
“Hey, Aus how have you been?” Jordyn asked as she approached the two of us.
“Uh good. Uh, this is my girlfriend Amelia,” he said stepping to the side of me but leaving his arm wrapped around my shoulder. I tensed up when her focus was on me. Seeing her now up close I could see why Auston used to hook up with her. She was incredibly hot and she was a model.
“Oh I didn’t know you had a girlfriend,” she grinned fakely at me as she took a step closer to Auston. He shifted back on his feet slightly as he shrugged.
“Yeah been dating for a year now,” he told her as he grinned down at me.
“Are you back for the summer, will have to get together,” she suggested taking another step closer to Auston. She tried to reach out for his arm but he took another step back, his arm leaving my shoulder and sliding down to my hip.
“Yeah Amelia and I are visiting my family. I don’t really have a lot of free time,” Auston responded. As she went to continue Alex made her way over to us.
“Did you win?” Auston asked her. She looked between the three of us with wide eyes before shaking her head no.
“Auston c’mon we're taking shots,” Matt shouted out. All the boys left to head over to the bar leaving all the girls behind. I pulled out a chair and took a seat next to Alex.
“So your Austons new toy?” Jordyn asked as she slid onto the stool next to me. I shared an annoyed look with Alex before turning to face her.
“I’m sorry what was that?” I asked giving her the friendliest smile I could manage.
“Auston always gets bored pretty easily I wouldn't be surprised if he got bored of you soon enough,” she said looking down at her nails before looking back at me. I stared at her in disbelief. I couldn't understand how someone so pretty could be so outwardly petty to me. Someone she had never even met before in her life. It blew my mind to hear this coming out of her mouth. I didn’t want to engage in her behavior in front of Alex so I tried to ignore her instead by turning back to Alex.
“I bet he's already bored of you. He always had a soft spot for me. Maybe I should go over there and take some shots with him. He was always pretty easy for me after a few shots,” she said staring at me with a smirk. I hid my grimace as I took in her words. I was so repulsed that she was saying these things in front of Alex.
“Listen,” I started to say before trailing off. I raised my eyebrow in question.
“I’m sorry what’s your name again?” I asked. Her expression jumped in surprise before anger took over.
“Jordyn,” she bitterly spit out.
“Right. Listen Auston is the best thing that ever happened to me. I don’t care about any history you think you have on me because I believe in my own relationship. You can talk bad to me or down to me all you want but at the end of the day I’m the one that's going home with him and spending my life with him,” I pushed myself up from the seat, Alex doing the same.
I walked over to the bar where Auston was standing with his friends and tugged on his arm. I was in no mood to stay out after what she had done to me in front of Alex. Auston turned around when he felt my hand on his arm. His face lit up once his eyes landed on me but his expression quickly turned concerned when he could tell something was wrong.
“What's wrong babe?” he asked as he pulled me into a side hug pressing a kiss to my forehead. I felt myself immediately relax. I couldn't believe I let her get to me even a little bit. Auston was the sweetest person I had ever met and he showed me every day how much he loved and cared for me.
“Nothing I love you,” I grinned up at him. He grinned back before leaning down and kissing me sweetly.
“Ohhh Papi making the moves,” Matt shouted as he pat Auston on the back.
“Papi is the biggest simp I’ve ever met,” Brett said laughing as he took a drink from his beer. Auston blushed slightly as he looked at me. All the guys went around teasing Auston for a while after that.
“Did you want to go?” Auston asked Alex and me almost an hour later. I looked up from where I had been staring intensely at my phone where I had received a DM from the one and only Jordyn Johnson.
“Huh,” I asked, pulling my attention away from my phone. I was definitely feeling the alcohol at this point.
“Are you ready to go?” he repeated tangling his hand in mine.
“Yeah I’m tired,” I responded locking my phone and putting it in my purse.
“Alex are you ready to head back?” Auston asked his sister who was in a deep conversation with Matt. She glanced our way and nodded. Once we were outside the bar Auston pulled his phone out to look for an Uber.
“There arent any Ubers right now,” Auston sighed shaking his head.
“Call Bre,” Alex suggested.
“Smart,” he pulled up her number and hit call putting it on speaker.
“Auston?” she asked, picking up on the fourth ring.
“Bre can you come pick us up?” he asked slurring just the tiniest bit.
“Auston it’s freakin 'two A.M. why are you guys still out,” she sighed as she shuffled around.
“Will you come get us or not?” he asked impatiently. I shook my head as I reached out to slap his arm lightly.
“Be nice,” I warned, and then I tucked myself under his arm in hopes of warming up from the breezy night weather.
“Yeah fine where are you?” she asked. As Auston answered her I turned my attention to the people around us.
“Babe,” Auston called, tugging me closer. I looked up at him confused.
“Bre is here you spaced out for a bit. Are you feeling alright?” he asked, sounding concerned. I gave him a soft smile as I nodded my head yes. Alex climbed into the front seat and Auston and I hopped into the back.
“Thanks, Bre,” I mumbled as I leaned into Auston resting my head on his shoulder. I let my eyes close as we started the drive home. When we pulled up to the house Auston helped me out of the car and towards the front door.
“We have to be quiet when we go inside we can't wake mom and dad,” Bre said as she opened the front door. As we stepped through the door Auston tripped slightly at the last minute causing me to giggle quietly.
“Aus are you okay,” I asked, holding him up as best I could.
“Aus I’m like really drunk I need you to help me help you,” I laughed out as we tried to make our way up the stairs. Auston laughed as he responded.
“I’m pretty drunk too, I probably shouldn't have done those extra shots with Matt,” I laughed as I pushed his bedroom door open. Once we were both through the door I shut it and pushed him onto the bed.
“Woah if you wanted me in bed so bad all you had to do was ask,” Auston teased. I giggled as I reached down to take off my shoes.
“You know your ex hookup is a bitch,” I told Auston as I helped him take his shoes off.
“What did she say to you? I looked over at one point and it looked like you wanted to rip her head off,” Auston joked as he unzipped his jeans and pulled them off.
“Nothing important it was dumb. She DMd me once we left though,” I said as I pulled my phone out to show Auston the message. He read the message and snorted.
“I would never pick her over you,” he handed me my phone back.
“Are you going to respond?” he asked as he pulled off his t-shirt and climbed under the blanket. I changed into a t-shirt that was on the ground before walking over to the bed.
“No, she's not worth the time. Also, you know you need to go downstairs to the couch Aus,” I said nudging him. When we stayed at Auston’s parents they didn’t like us to stay in the same room. Even though we lived together in Toronto it wasn't allowed in their house unless we were married.
“Ugh I really don't want to go down there,” he mumbled.
“I can sleep down there,” I offered standing up from where I had sat myself on the bed. He stayed frozen for a second before letting out a deep sigh.
“No, I will just let me put on some clothes,” he pulled himself into a sitting position. Once he was dressed he walked back over to the bed and leaned down to press a kiss to my lips.
“I love you babe,” he grinned as he stood up and made his way over to the door. When he pulled it open Felix came charging in. I giggled as he jumped up onto the bed with me.
“Night Aus love you back,” I grinned as I cuddled up on the bed. He smiled softly as he left the door ajar.
“Night,” he whispered.

So here is a little head cannon I thought of while reading your fan fic.
What if herobrine never had/celebrated his birthday so he forgot when it was, so Steve and Alex pick a day and celebrate his birthday with him. (P.s. sorry I have horrific grammer)
I liked this idea so much I made a little drabble under the read more :3 I hope it is worthy of such an great headcanon! Thank you so much for the ask! It fills me with joy to hear that people are thinking about my story lol <3. And don't worry. Grammar is hard and doesn't make any sense. I feel your pain
Before we dive in: this takes place pretty earlier into Steve and Brine becoming friends. So they are just starting to pine. Not in a relationship yet. Alex and Brine are still a little wary of each other but have come to accept that they are stuck with each other.
I'd say this is rated teen for just some small strong language lol

The Birthday Brine
-
It was a hot, lazy summer afternoon. Too nice to spend down in the mines. But a little too warm to do any strenuous activities.
So Alex and Steve decided to go on down to the small river they frequented on days like today. A secluded area where the water pooled deep enough to swim. And, of course, Herobrine tagged along. As was becoming more of the norm these days.
Steve was lying comfortably in the shade of a few trees on the bank of the river. Legs in the water; small waves lapped up to his knees as the water went by. Arms crossed behind his head. His shirt was off and laid over his eyes, shutting out any of the light that filtered through the leaves. Not really dozing off, but close to it.
Herobrine was similarly relaxing. He lay on his belly; balanced precariously on a nearby tree that had fallen over the river. Looking like a big cat lounging about in the direct sun. Soaking up the rays. One hand was draped down to the side, touching the cool water.
Alex was the only one fully in the river. She was a little upstream, floating on her back. She had taken off her pants, leaving them on the shore, and let her long green shirt cover her lower half. Every once in a while she would swim back to her original place as the current took her down towards Herobrine.
The trio had been chatting absentmindedly. Talking about anything, really. Steve ranted humorously about his pickaxe making a squeaking sound. Alex discussed way too many of the current happenings in town. Even Herobrine brought up that a dragonfly had landed on his shoulder. Which had the trio all staring for a bit before it flew off and they went back to their current positions.
It wasn't until a certain question came to Alex’s mind that the peace of the scene was disturbed.
"Hey Sparky." The adventurer asked. "...How old are you?"
Herobrine took a while to answer. Seeming to think through the question slowly. Finally he asked without opening his eyes. "Why?"
"Just curious." Alex shrugged, swimming a little.
The demon shifted. Now peaking over to look at Steve. It was like the miner could tell that he was being looked at because he lifted his shirt to look back questioningly.
Herobrine spoke up. "When was the last time I respawned? Four months ago?"
Steve frowned. "Yes. More like three. You fell through a roof, remember?"
"Right, right." Herobrine moved his hand up out of the water. "Terribly made and rusty old structure. Glad it forced a respawn. Tetanus is not fun even with healing powers."
"Why is this relevant?" Alex asked impatiently.
"I'm 28." Herobrine said immediately.
Alex sat up in the water. Causing a bit of a ruckus amongst some fish that had gotten close. "No you're not!"
"Yes I am." Herobrine turned his attention to her. She shuddered ever so slightly under his scrutinizing stare. "Every time I die, I respawn back to the same age at which I turned immortal."
Alex crossed her hands over her chest. "Okay, well that's only technically. I meant, like, if you count ALL the years you've been alive."
"I have no fucking clue, Alex." Herobrine rolled his head to the otherside of the tree to ignore her. Yet continued to talk. "Time loses all meaning when you're immortal. Not to mention I was trapped in the nether for most of that time. So it's even harder to tell."
"What's your best guess?" Steve asked, now curious as well.
And the head came back around. Looking at Steve. The demon wouldn't ignore the miner. He bit his lip, eyes trailing towards the water. "I dunno... maybe a few centuries... a millennia or so..."
"Old." Steve clarified. Seeing that the demon was struggling a little.
"Yeah... old." Herobrine scowled.
"So, what, do we have to, like, wait until you live a year to celebrate your birthday?" Alex giggled. "No wonder you don't remember it. It would never be your birthday based on that criteria."
Herobrine scoffed. "What are you talking about?"
"Yeah." Steve added, putting the shirt back over his eyes. "Come to think of it, when is your birthday, Brine?"
"You want to know the exact date I was born?" Herobrine sat up now, clearly confused. "Fuck... I don't know. I didn't even keep track of days back then. I just survived. It wasn't until I met... my brother that we talked about days. And he was able to do some weird 'code calculation' as he called it to figure out my true age. But we didn't really care about that. None of us counted in the aether. None of us wanted to count. When you have endless time you tend not to care. It's a depressing chore."
"So none of you celebrated your birthday?" Alex asked.
"Why would you celebrate your birth?" Herobrine growled. "Existence is a curse."
"That's why we have to celebrate!" Alex exclaimed. "It helps us mortals to forget about our fleeting existence."
"Yeah!" Steve enthusiastically raised a fist to the sky in agreement.
"Like the aether needed another reason to celebrate..." Herobrine grumbled, flopping back down on the tree. "The amount of bullshit dances I had to get dressed up for was astronomical."
"So you really have never had a birthday, huh?" Steve wasn't sure why he was surprised.
"Nope." Herobrine said, popping the p and settling back on the tree. Thinking that was the end of the conversation.
But Steve and Alex had other plans.
"Bro you thinking what I'm thinking?"
"You think we have enough time today?"
"Sure why not? We were already planning on going into town together."
"Then we better hurry."
"What are you two talking about?" Herobrine muttered. The siblings were getting out of the water and putting back on their clothes.
"We're going to throw you a birthday party!" Steve smiled over at him.
Herobrine almost fell off his branch.
"W-what? Why?"
Alex shrugged. "Well, if you don't know what day your birthday is, it might as well be any day. And since we are already all together and don't have any plans for the rest of the evening... why not?"
Herobrine teleported off his tree and stood next to the two. "You really don't need to-"
"Too late, it's happening." Alex smiled. Starting to walk off. Not putting on her shoes as she walked through the increasingly tall grass.
"Go wait in the nether and come back around sunset!" Steve pushed on his back excitedly. As if he could shove him through a portal that wasn't there.
"Why?"
"We are gonna surprise you!"
"Oh. Yippee. Surprise." Herobrine did not mask his unenthusiasm.
"It'll be fun, I promise." Steve said as he stopped pushing and went to go join Alex.
Herobrine was left alone and very confused as to what had just happened. He blinked up at the setting sun and winced. He wouldn't know the correct time in the nether. So he decided to go back to his tree branch and relax until the time came. He had no idea what was in store for him. But he didn't try to think too hard about it. If he didn't like it he could always teleport away.
All this talk of aether and age had his head buzzing with unpleasant thoughts. He tried to will them away and think of nothing instead. Watching as the river flowed beneath him. The dragonfly landed back on his hands.
-
It was just after sunset when Herobrine was walking up to Steve's small house and knocking on the door. Steve was adamant about him knocking. As Herobrine had the tendency to just teleport into a location, unannounced. There was the sound of muffled talking as well as a wonderful smell of something cooking in the furnace.
He heard the miner walk towards the door, he recognized his footsteps easily. Much different than Alex’s.
Steve cracked open the door. "Herobrine, you have perfect timing! We are just finishing up."
Herobrine tried to move forward but Steve closed the door more. He smiled, shyly. "Er. You gotta close your eyes."
"... Why?"
Steve smiled wider. "It's all part of the process."
So Herobrine huffed and closed his eyes. Steve took him by the hand. Leading him inside. Herobrine could feel his heartbeat where they connected. The miner was excited. So Herobrine was excited.
He was led into the house and then Steve stopped and walked over to join where he could sense Alex.
"Surprise!" They both yelled.
Herobrine stood there with his eyes closed. Face oozing confusion.
"Open your eyes now, Brine." Steve whispered loudly to him.
"Oh." And he did. He blinked and took in the sight.
The inside of the house was decorated with a few colored strings on the ceiling and what seemed to be little torches everywhere else. It was very simple and yet very pretty.
"Do you like it?" Alex asked.
"We didn't have too much time to decorate so we made due with what we had." Steve said. "Probably not as fancy as your aether parties."
"No." Herobrine smiled. "But I like this better." The aether parties were always decorated with too much. This was nice and made Herobrine feel cozy.
Alex gestured to the table, patting the chair to sit down. "Since it's pretty late we figured we'd just do a birthday dinner. Steve said you would eat if we made you food."
Herobrine nodded. Glad he hadn't had anything to eat for a while. He wasn't the biggest fan of eating. Steve had been reintroducing it to him slowly. The miner was an excellent cook.
"Good!" Alex smiled. Steve sat next to Herobrine at the table. "I handled dinner and Steve handled the most important part of a birthday, the dessert!"
"It all smells nice." Herobrine commented politely. It did. He was actually excited to eat.
Alex disappeared into the kitchen. Preparing plates for them all. Steve and Herobrine shared a look. Both smiling, somewhat uncomfortable and comfortable at the same time. It didn't last long as Alex came out with two plates, setting it down in front of them.
The meal consisted of roasted corn, slathered in butter, some sort of shredded pork on bread with some sweet sauce, and a cold potato salad. Steve instantly dug in. Probably hungry from all the work they had been doing. Herobrine waited for Alex to return with her own plate before starting to pick at the food. It wasn't long before he was eating more sloppily than Steve. Alex apologized, saying she wanted to make something more special like a smoked biscuit but Herobrine wasn't sure why she was sorry. It was all delicious. And Herobrine found himself wanting to eat the entire plate. It was the perfect meal on the warm night.
The house was filled with the delightful sounds of eating. None of them talked very much. Not needing to. Just enjoying each other’s company. And the food! They were all very invested in the food.
Once they were done, Herobrine was tempted to ask for more. But he remembered that there was still dessert to eat. He started to try to clean up his plate. But Steve stopped him immediately. "Ah, ah. No dishes when it's your birthday."
"Hmm. This birthday business keeps getting better." Herobrine smirked at him.
Steve disappeared into the kitchen and returned with two plates filled with two generous slices of homemade chocolate cake.
He set them down in front of Alex and his own seats. "We have a special slice for you, Herobrine. Hold on."
Steve rushed away and walked slowly back with a similar piece of cake. But this one had a very tiny torch stuck in the middle of it. Herobrine blinked. Huh. Strange.
"It's a candle." Steve explained. "It's a tradition to have some on your cake. We only had this old one." He set the on fire cake in front of him. Herobrine enjoyed the fire flare. "Usually you have a candle for every year you've been alive."
"But that would've set the house on fire." Alex snickered.
Herobrine rolled his eyes and tried to grab his fork. But Alex stopped him. "Wait! We have to sing to you!"
"Er, no thanks." That seemed silly. He did not want to be sung to.
Steve made a face. "I don't like that part either. I think we should skip it."
"We have to! It's tradition!" Alex wrapped her elbow around Steve’s neck. "Come on, Stevie. One time!"
"Alright. Alright." He caved easily. And they began.
Herobrine sat awkwardly as the two sang a little song. Saying his name. Herobrine had never heard Steve sing. It was nice. He had a pleasant voice. He thought the man should sing more. He hummed a lot but never truly sang.
Once they were done. Alex said. "Now you make a wish and blow out the candle."
"A wish? Wish for what?"
"For anything." Steve added. "But you have to wish in your head. And don't tell anyone or your wish won't come true."
"Like a curse?"
"Yeah kinda. But it's just for fun."
The demon chewed on his lip. Seeming to think about it. He nodded eventually. "Okay. I've made my wish."
"Now blow out the candle to complete the spell." Alex joked. Steve nudged her.
Herobrine looked at the small torch on the cake and willed the fire away. It went out.
Alex and Steve stared. Alex giggled. "Guess there's more than one way to skin an ocelot."
"Why would you-" Herobrine blinked.
"It's an expression." Steve laughed, sitting down and picking up his fork to eat his piece of cake. "Ignore her and dig in while the cake is still warm."
Herobrine did, setting the small torch- candle aside and picking up his fork to eat. The cake looked moist. Fresh. And smelled absolutely delicious. His mouth was watering before he even put the treat in his mouth.
When he took a bite he almost moaned. "H-holy fuck." He quickly took another bite.
Alex giggled. "Never had a Steve-made cake have you?"
"Steve, you should stop cooking everything and just make cake from now on." Herobrine had almost finished his piece already. It was just so damn good. He couldn't stop.
"Then it wouldn't be special." Steve chuckled. Looking happy that they both seemed to be enjoying his cake.
"Can I have more?" Herobrine asked, frosting definitely smeared all over his face, unabashedly.
Steve and Alex howled at that. The demon just looked so different from how they normally saw him. It was nice. And also hilarious.
Herobeine got a second slice and sat back, looking full. The demon didn't usually eat so it was a lot all at once. Totally worth it though.
"Present time!" Alex jumped up from the table as Steve moved the dishes into the kitchen.
"Present time?" Herobrine parroted.
"You get presents on your birthday!" Alex walked over to grab two things that had been set aside on a coffee table. "From everyone who comes to the party."
Alex handed Steve something and walked back to the table to give Herobrine a rectangle that looked like a book wrapped in paper. Herobrine took it confused. "Er, thanks?" He held it in his hands.
"You gotta open it dude!" Alex said excitedly.
"Open it?"
"Yeah tear open the paper!"
"Oh." Herobrine, a demon of destruction, ironically opened the book very carefully. Not wanting to damage it.
He held the book up once it was unwrapped. It was, indeed, a book. Not too hard to guess correctly.
"It's a book of modern day phrases." Alex explained. Tapping the cover. She smirked. "I know that you have some trouble with some of our more modern hip lingo."
Herobrine lifted an eyebrow at her. He flipped to a random page. "There's more than one way to skin an ocelot? Oh. I get your 'joke' now."
"See. You're learning already." She snickered. Steve smiled too.
Herobrine looked confused. But not unappreciative. He waved his hand, tucking the book away into his inventory. "Er, thanks. I will read the rest later."
"No problem!" She giggled. She then pushed Steve forward. "Go ahead, your turn."
Steve had a paper package tied up in butcher's twine behind his back. He coughed and walked forward, handing Herobrine the parcel.
The demon took it. Knowing what to do now, he tore into the paper. Revealing what was inside.
He paused when he realized what it was after pulling all the paper off and letting it float to the ground.
"It's... your cloak." Herobrine said. Not giving away any emotion. Steve seemed to droop a little. Expecting him to be a little happier. Alex nudged the miner. They shared a look. Steve rolled his eyes. He walked closer to the demon, touching the cloak in his hands.
"I knew it would already fit you. And there wasn't enough time to get you a new one made. I just know how much you like to borrow it from me when it gets colder." Steve ran his fingers along the cloak. Pointing out some stitching on the green material. "I sewed up all the holes so it won't be as drafty. And-" He tapped the button that held the cloak together. "I replaced the old latch with a golden one I got from town today. I know you said you like to wear a little gold in the nether for piglin respect or... whatever." The miner let go of the cloak and backed up, rubbing his head awkwardly.
Herobrine stared at the green gloak. Rubbing the material in his fingers.
"If... if you don't like-"
"I love it." Herobrine almost whispered. Sounding so genuine it made Steve blush and Alex smile. "It's perfect."
"O-oh." Steve scratched his head again. "Good. I'm glad." He smiled, looking away. Desperately trying to hide his blush. He had gone bright red. And Herobrine wasn't helping.
The demon stood instantly and put the cloak around his body. He had worn it before. But it looked different now. Like it was his now. It was truly his.
Herobrine looked up at Steve. "This is... the greatest gift I've ever been given." He didn't smile but his glowing eyes said it all. He was absolutely telling the truth. "Thank you, Steven."
The miner stared back. Smiling to the side and tilting his head. Embarrassed but screaming on the inside in happiness.
Alex had to butt in. Not liking the way the two were looking at each other and getting a little protective of Steve. "Pfft. Thanks a lot there, Briney boy. Glad my gift meant nothing."
Herobrine blinked. Processing the words. And then realized. "Oh, no, sorry Alex. Thank you as well."
"Yeah whatever." Alex nudged him with her fist, walking past him. She then let out a yawn. "Well. I think I'm all birthday partied out. Mind if I crash on your couch, Stevie? It's too late to walk home."
"Sure I'll get you some blankets." Steve mimicked the yawn. His eyes looked tired. They did do a lot to put the party together for him. They deserved a rest. "Happy Birthday, Brine."
"Thank you." Herobrine nodded. "Thank you both. This was... enjoyable."
"See our traditions aren't so bad." Alex said, flopping down on the couch.
"I do believe I've judged it too early." Herobrine nodded. "You do this every year?"
"Yep. And you get to do the planning and gift giving to us when it's our birthdays. No party is exactly the same." Alex nodded. "I think planning is actually more fun than celebrating your own birthday."
"Oh. Well I look forward to that. You will have to remind me when the time comes. Time is... difficult for me."
"Of course, dude." Steve produced some blankets from the closet. Herobrine sensed it was time to make his leave. He headed for the door.
"Thank you again." He said a little awkwardly. "I will uh, see you both tomorrow."
"Sounds good!" "Bye!" The siblings said.
And with Herobrine out the door. Steve and Alex looked at each other.
"I think that went well." Steve said.
"I think you owe me money for not making a single birthday suit joke." Alex said back. He threw the blankets over her head as she giggled.
"Goodnight Alex!" He went to his bedroom, trying to hide his blush. "Put out the candles before you sleep."
"I'm just saying, Stevie! That would've been a better gift if you-"
"Goodnight Alex!!"
Herobrine stood just outside the door. He wiggled his shoulders a little. Feeling the soft weight of the cloth around his shoulders. He smiled. Feeling warm inside and out. And teleported off.

Great - Quinn Hughes ft. Brady Tkachuk and Matthew Tkachuk
A/N: I recently fell in love with Quinn Hughes and had to write for him, but I couldn’t leave my favorite boys out.
Summary: Y/N has been best friends with the Tkachuks for as long as she can remember. When Quinn Hughes surprises Brady in St. Louis, old feelings come tp the surface.
Word count: ~2.2k
It was going to be a typical offseason Saturday night spent watching movies and hanging out with her best friends Brady, Matthew, Taryn and Brady’s girlfriend Emma. At least that’s what Y/N thought.
They’d all been back in St. Louis for a few weeks now and Y/N had spent as many days as she could at the Tkachuk house. She was glad to be back for the summer and even happier to finally have another girl around. With her, Taryn and Emma, they finally outnumbered the boys, at least while her brother was away taking summer classes.
Y/N grew up with the Tkachuks. Her twin brother Alex used to play hockey with Brady and she and Taryn would always play games together in the stands during their games. Brady would come out to the stands after his game to watch his older brother Matthew play. But he always wound up playing with Y/N and Taryn more than watching Matthew. Alex would come out and play with them too.
It didn’t take long for Brady and Taryn to beg their parents to hang out with Y/N and Alex outside of the rink. Soon enough, the families were inseparable. Even though Matthew was older than all of the other kids, even he had fun hanging out and making fun of them constantly.
Even when the boys’ hockey careers took off and Y/N and Alex went away to college, they all remained close. They’d been best friends since those early mornings in the rink and they always would be even though Y/N really wanted to kill Brady and Matthew right now.
She showed up to the Tkachuk house and saw a bunch of cars parked outside it and music blasting. Y/N would usually never turn down a party, but this time, she wasn’t dressed for one because they hadn’t told her they were having one.
She sent a quick, “SOS” text to Taryn and hoped she was here and that she could help with her current leggings and hoodie situation.
Sure enough, Taryn was at her car in a few minutes.
“Hey, Y/N! What’s the matter?” Taryn asked.
“I thought we were having a movie night tonight?” Y/N asked.
Taryn laughed. “The boys are such idiots. They didn’t tell you they were throwing a party for Quinn?”
“Quinn Hughes? Brady’s old teammate?” Y/N asked.
“Yeah. He surprised them by coming into town today so the boys threw him a party. I think they just used any excuse they could find to throw a party, but I’m not going to complain. Did they seriously not tell you?” Taryn was confused Y/N didn’t already know all this.
“No, I guess they didn’t want me to come. Maybe I should just head home,” Y/N said, looking down at her feet.
“Hey, Y/N/N, that’s not true. They’re just idiots. Here’s idiot Number 2. Ask him yourself,” she said as Brady ran up to her car.
“Y/N! What are you doing? Come inside and party with us!” Brady shouted with a drink in his hand.
“I’m not dressed for a party because you failed to tell me about it,” Y/N said as she scrunched up her face at him.
“What are you talking about? Matthew said he would text you and tell you about the change of plans!” Brady yelled again.
“Trusting Matthew to remember to do anything was your first mistake, you idiot,” Taryn said as she slapped the back of his head.
“I’m sorry, Y/N/N. Please come inside and hang out with us. I want you to meet Quinn!” Brady shouted again.
“Okay, first of all, please stop shouting. You’re murdering my eardrum. Second, I met Quinn at your draft. Third, what part of I am dressed like a hobo do you not understand?!” Y/N said as she purposely hit her head on the steering wheel.
“You talked to him for like two seconds. I need my best friends to be best friends! I think you look fine, but have Taryn get you something to wear if it’s such a big deal!” Brady shouted again.
Y/N looked at Taryn helplessly. “Wow, the dumbass actually had a good idea for once,” she laughed as Brady sighed dramatically. “Come on, I’ll sneak you to my room and we can get you something to wear.”
“See you guys soon! I’ll tell Quinny you’re here, Y/N!” Brady yelled again.
“Great,” Y/N mumbled under her breath.
Taryn chuckled but didn’t say anything as they snuck around to the deserted side of the house, went up the stairs and found Taryn’s room. Y/N dramatically flopped onto Taryn’s bed face first.
Taryn laughed. “What’s the deal with you and Hughes? Don’t think I didn’t hear that comment you made earlier.”
Y/N flipped to her side so she was facing Taryn. “I used to have a crush on him…” Y/N whispered.
“What?? When? I thought you guys only met at the draft.” Taryn squealed excitedly, flopping on the bed next to her.
“We did, but when he and Brady lived together, Brady would facetime me after their games and tell me how they went but he would always fall asleep. When he fell asleep, Quinn would take the phone and we would talk,” Y/N exclaimed.
Taryn’s eyes looked like they were going to pop out of her head. “What would you talk about?”
“Lots of stuff. Hockey mostly. But I would tell him embarrassing stories about Brady as a kid. We talked about our dreams for the future and random stuff,” Y/N said. “I could never go visit then because I was so busy with school and work so we didn’t meet until the draft. It’s so weird. We never exchanged numbers or anything, we only talked over Facetime on Brady’s phone, but I liked him so much. And I couldn’t even find the courage to tell Brady because I thought he would be mad.”
“We have to find you a bomb outfit to impress him then,” Taryn smiled knowingly at Y/N as she got up and looked through her closet.
“We haven’t talked in years. And he was so busy at the draft that I only got a few seconds with him. He probably doesn’t even remember me,” Y/N sighed.
Taryn reached over and grabbed a pillow and hit Y/N in the head with it. “Don’t be as big of an idiot as my brothers. He definitely remembers you and you’re going to impress him in this,” Taryn said as she pulled out a blue body suit, black mini skirt and air force one’s from her closet. “Now hurry up and change so I can see how it looks.”
Y/N did as she was told. Luckily for her, she was short for her age so Taryn’s clothes still fit her. Once she was dressed, she silently thanked herself for putting on makeup today, took her hair down from its bun and stared at herself. Her hair was perfectly wavy and she looked good.
Taryn whistled. “Alright, now let’s go downstairs, lover girl.”
As Taryn led the way downstairs, Y/N found herself growing more and more nervous. She’d kept up with Quinn’s hockey career through the years so she knew he had matured since the last time she’d seen him, but what if he looked different than how she remembered him? Yeah, she was going to need a drink if she was going to see Quinn.
As soon as they arrived downstairs, Y/N made a beeline for the kitchen without even looking at anyone.
“Well well well, look who’s finally here.” Matthew chuckled. “Drink?”
Y/N rolled her eyes. “Yes please. It’s your fault I’m late. You didn’t tell me you guys were having a party.”
Matthew stopped pouring her drink and looked at her. “Brady said he was going to tell you.”
“Well, he didn’t and he just told me you said you were going to tell me,” Y/N sighed. “I’ll take that drink anytime.”
Matthew handed Y/N a drink. “I swear he said he was going to tell you. I should’ve double checked, though. I’m sorry. Forgive me?” he asked as he pouted at her.
“I guess. Thanks for the drink,” Y/N smiled as she turned to go find Taryn and Emma.
Emma spotted her from across the room, waived her over and hugged her. “Hey, Y/N! Taryn told me what happened. Sorry about the boys.”
Y/N looked back and forth between Emma and Taryn. “Do you guys know something you’re not telling me? Because Brady told me Matthew was going to tell me about the party, but Matthew just told me Brady said he was going to tell me. They’re acting weird.”
Before either girl could respond, Y/N heard a familiar voice behind her. “Who’s acting weird?”
Y/N turned around to see a more grown up version of the kid she used to share her dreams of the future with. He was smiling at her and she couldn’t help but smile back. Y/N turned quickly around to send Emma and Taryn looks of panic, but they had disappeared. She was all by herself on this one. Great.
Y/N turned back to Quinn. “Brady and Matthew as usual. Long time no see, Hughes.”
“Too long if you ask me. You look great, Y/N,” Quinn said. He smiled as he looked her up and down. Was he checking her out?
Y/N looked him up and down quickly. “You look great too,” she smiled back at him.
“You wanna get some air? It’s a little stuffy in here?” Quinn looked at her hopefully.
Y/N nodded and led him out to the front porch swing.
They sat down facing each other and let a comfortable silence fill the air, but Y/N couldn’t help herself.
“It’s weird isn’t it? Actually being around each other and not talking over Facetime?” she asked.
“Weird, but nice,” Quinn replied.
“Definitely nice,” Y/N agreed. She was glad they were sitting in the dark otherwise she’s sure he would have been able to see her blush. “I remember us talking about all of our hopes and dreams for the future and all you could talk about was how you wanted to make the NHL so badly. You really made your dream come true. I’m proud of you.”
Quinn laughed. “Thanks, Y/N. There was one dream of mine I didn’t tell you about, though.”
“You were holding out on me? What was your other dream?” Y/N asked.
“I always dreamed of being with you. I know we only met briefly, but I really felt like I knew you through those FaceTime calls. I had a huge crush on you,” he admitted.
It was Y/N’s turn to laugh. Before she could even reply, Quinn was talking again. “You’re so mean, I can’t believe you’re laughing at me. I just poured my heart out to you.”
Y/N reached over and put her hand on his leg to try to get him to calm down. “Quit being dramatic. I was actually laughing at myself because I had a huge crush on you too and I was convinced you didn’t even remember me.”
“How could I not remember you? You’re the only girl I’ve ever told all my dreams to,” Quinn said. He placed his hand on top of her hand.
“Well in my defense, I didn’t know that until just now. Let’s keep up the tradition, though. What are your dreams right now?” Y/N asked.
“That’s easy. You. To get to know you again, to be with you, to share a life with you,” Quinn spoke so softly he was almost whispering. “Your turn,” he said smiling at her.
Between the alcohol and the way he was looking at Y/N, her cheeks were on fire. “Well, my number one dream is to get to kiss the Stanley Cup one day, but you’re a really close second,” Y/N laughed and Quinn joined her. “But seriously, I really do want all of that with you too.”
“Well, when I win the Stanley Cup, I promise you can kiss it. In the meantime, kissing me will have to do,” Quinn joked.
“Wait, you know you’re the real prize, not the Stanley Cup, right? Because that was mostly a joke, I-“
But Quinn leaned in and kissed her before she could finish her rambling. They got so lost in each other that they didn’t notice right away when Brady came running out of the house and started shouting again.
“Y/N! Now are you happy I didn’t tell you about the party? When Quinn told me about your little Facetime dates, I thought you would be too nervous to come if I told you he was here so I left that out!” Brady shouted and grinned at Y/N, clearly proud of himself.
Y/N turned back to Quinn. “You wanted to be with me so badly that you asked for this weirdo’s help?”
They both laughed, while Brady put his hands on his hips and threw his hands up in the air. “Great, just what I need! You two to team up and make fun of me!”
Y/N and Quinn looked at each other and smiled. “Great!” they said together.
