Starting up Tamagotchi Uni again(And ranting about Mimmy being underrated)

I took way too long to post this

So like I mentioned in my last post I was waiting to turn my Uni on until the case & screen protector I ordered came in the mail & were setup. I turned my Uni on last Thursday because the screen protector finally showed up & I had everything setup.

Here's a picture of the egg, I kind of wish there were more backgrounds that allowed you to see the sky like the default one. It's kinda cool that you can see the weather & time of day change like this but this is the only one that does this.

DLC

Since I bought the Sanrio version of the Uni it came with a physical ticket(code on the back) for the Sanrio DLC. I used the first code & then allowed people to use the last two uses(you can use the code on up to 3 Tamagotchi with resets counting as new ones) on the MixingMeets discord server. I only want one Uni so it'd be going to waste if I didn't use the last two uses.

I also made an account on the ticket site so I could get the free Berryland ticket & someone showed the code to their Monster Carnival ticket after using the first use so I now have 3 DLC areas I can explore.

I think they're all nice but I hate Monster Carnival's game because I don't like slide puzzles & the timer doesn't help either.

The DLC has really helped because exploring them adds that feeling I missed from the Meets/On which is exploring places you unlock, playing a game available to only that location & buying stuff only available to that location. Waiting for different DLC to load can be annoying but I'm glad DLC was added.

I really enjoy seeing everything & it's kind of cute cause my tama gets to go to the Sanrio version of Disneyland or something My only complaint is that I feel like Mimmy(Just learned today her name is spelled like that) should get to be on the float with Kitty. For context Kitty has a twin sister who wears a yellow bow(when it's not taking up the whole head it's on the opposite side of Kitty's bow) & on the Uni she has a heart on her head on the opposite side Kitty's is on.

I think it'd be cute if she got some attention cause she barely gets any.(Occasionally she shows up in a game or in like one old cartoon I use to watch on DVD) Probably doesn't help that Kitty has so many designs with different bows that you'd never be able to tell if it's Mimmy unless a label was added. I'm mostly complaining because they added Mimmy to the DLC as a cameo for game that's part of the DLC.(She only shows up when you successfully do the double arrow actions)

What's worse is that she's featured in images showing off what's available in the Sanrio DLC when all she is on the Uni is a cameo while other characters get more attention.(Until I played with the DLC I had no idea what she'd be doing in the DLC) I know it's stupid but the least they could do is put her in one more thing like the scene of Kitty on a parade float dancing around with the shirotama wearing Hello Kitty bows.

Sorry I just oddly feel bad because Mimmy cause she gets no attention besides this game. She shows up nowhere else not even a yellow bow for items while Kitty gets red related bows & merch in the items cause she's the star. I like Hello Kitty but Mimmy should get some attention too.

Sorry for the rambling, besides my rambling like I said I enjoy the DLC & it's nice to mess around with the Uni again now that I'm ready to play again.

More posts to come, with luck I get back into the swing of things. Probably not tomorrow though, I have important stuff to deal with tomorrow.

Hi ISEB! So I was reading your guidelines and was wondering how would I know if my package has reached 16 ounces? Ideally, I'd like to receive them all in one go and assuming I'm getting everything, would all of them fit in one package?

Great question, Anon! In my quest to answer you question, I discovered a significant error I made in my original post—the maximum weight limit for international orders is actually 8 ounces, not 16 ounces like I had originally thought. I’ve gone ahead and edited the original post with the correct number, but let me briefly explain why eight ounces is the limit for international orders being mailed from the United States.

We actually have a couple methods of mailing international parcels from USPS (United States Postal Service): Priority International and First Class Package International. Priority is prohibitively expensive (minimum $35), so I don’t even offer it as an option for my international customers. First Class Package International is also quite expensive ($24 on the high end), but it allows you to mail parcels up to four pounds. However, I discovered a sweet spot—if you can get the parcel down to eight ounces or below, the price drops to nearly half (which is the absolutely cheapest shipping method I am able to offer my international customers). Just look at the price difference when I switch between eight and nine ounces:

So with eight ounces in mind, lets see if we can calculate just how many items we could stuff into one parcel and still come in under the weight limit:

Assuming you wanted to buy one of each item, you’re looking at around 1.2 ounces (give or take depending on the design) per month. Not including the weight of the packaging, in theory you could get at least two months worth of items in one parcel. If you only bought charms or only standees, you could probably get six months of items into one parcel. If you were willing to pay the higher amount and wait a full twelve months, I could send you an entire years’ worth of merch club items for $24. I’m happy to work with my international customers on this one because I know how much you guys are having to pay through the nose to get stuff from the States—just message me either here, on Twitter, or on Etsy and I can arrange to have your stuff held for you until you are ready to have it shipped to you! Likewise, I will let you know each month what weight you are sitting at, so you can decide whether you want to hold off for another month or if you’re ready for it to be mailed out.

One thing I can’t do, unfortunately, is take a year’s worth of payments upfront (in case anyone wanted to pay for a whole year in advance). The reason for this is twofold—1) I can’t predict how successful this merch club is going to be and don’t want to make any promises I can’t keep, and 2) I didn’t set up the merch club like a subscription service because I specifically wanted people to be able to pick and choose the months they wanted to buy (in case they didn’t like one of the designs or something). I know it might seem like a pain in the neck for people to have to log into Etsy every month to snag an item, but my hope is that in the months to come the anticipation will make customers excited and look forward to seeing what the next month’s design will be.
