When the Community Council played the game, in the working version they played, it sounds like when the 'no dying' mode was turned on, when the player's health gets low the screen turns red (but you don't then die, of course) [source]
Caitie of Ghildirthalen shared that everyone that she talked to from the Community Council really liked the gameplay. "They were all into it, none of us had any complaints about how they were doing the gameplay, we all thought it was solid" [source]
The Lighthouse isn't literally an actual lighthouse by the sea. It's in the Crossroads. It's "like a bubble in the Crossroads, kind of like what Morrigan brings you to" in DA:I. "It's its own little bubble, it's not actually the Crossroads, it's like its own little bubble of reality." "It's not really in the Fade, but it kinda is, but it's kinda not". After the gameplay reveal video, Solas essentially gets trapped in the new prison he was trying to build for Ghil and Elgar'nan. "I don't think they explain it well in the [GI cover] article what happens, like, lore-wise, like how this connection between Solas and Rook one, works, and then two, like, how it's done. [...] From that [Community Council participation and talking to devs], I have a better understanding of this link, and I do think the explanation given [in-game] is good, and is satisfying to me. They're just not explaining it well in the article, I do think they give a better reason in the game"[source]
Caitie shared that she doesn't know why marketing for the game keeps saying/trying to say that Rook isn't a Chosen One as a talking point. "Maybe [Rook] wasn't chosen, [they] just happened to be there, but now there is a connection there, like [they] can't just leave, [they] have that strange Solas connection that nobody else has". "In this game Rook was just at the wrong place at the wrong time, or right place right time, depending on how you look at it, and it could have been anyone in that scene, that's kind've what they're trying to say" [source]

The weather has been awful. Terrible. Dreadful. So bad in fact, that many of the local leagues have had their season’s start delayed for at least one and in many cases two weeks…with the prospect of a good few more fixtures postponed at the start of May.
I wanted to get out to a game on what was now the defacto first week of the cricket season, but my options were limited – certainly if I was staying within 15 miles of where I live. I also didn’t want to travel to a ground, only to find that the game was delayed and eventually abandoned – which happened to me last year.

Harrogate CC 2XI were scheduled to play at home against York CC 2XI in the Yorkshire Premier League North – Championship West, and to be honest, I didn’t really believe that it would go ahead given the fact that I had walked around the front and back pitches a week earlier and could have brought my swimming trunks - given the amount of water on the surface of both.
I arrived with half an hour to spare, parking on the small grass hill next to the scoreboard and gazed around the ground. It looked a mixture of okay to not-so-sure that a game could be played.
With umpires and players satisfied after a thoughtful wander around the outfield, the game started on time and York, who had won the toss, elected to take to the field with Harrogate batting first. It would be interesting to see how the players coped in some of the more wet parts of the outfield and how the ball rolled.
The first big hit went quite a distance, landing about two thirds of the way to the boundary rope and…dug in with half the ball disappearing into the soft surface. No bounce at all. But it must be said, it had landed on probably the worst part of the ground.

Harrogate batted with a first game of the season kind of pace, scoring slowly but steadily. The innings was looking solid, and the batsmen were playing with a real confidence.
Sanjay Mani caught the eye as he looked at ease standing at the crease and playing the ball around the ground, but it was Hector Hamill who really impressed with the selection of shots he was playing.
I’d seen Hector play a good few times last season and know that he has a very bright future in the game if he keeps on the trajectory he seems to be taking. I’ve seen other similar young talented players and they’ve gone on to play at higher levels.
Hector built the backbone of the innings for Harrogate, reaching 86 off 117 balls, including eight fours and one six.
That’s not to suggest that the home team were relying on the one player, good knocks by George Owran (10), Peter Greenfield (21), and a brilliant 44 by Ashley Griffin helped Harrogate to a total of 206 in just over 46 overs.
York’s Josh Wood was the pick of the bowlers with five wickets for just 32 runs.

As the players went in, my thoughts turned to lunch, and I headed to the gazebo set up outside The Balcony to see what was on offer. Food was being put on by The Round Table Dining company (www.theroundtabledining.co.uk), and the aromas were captivating.
I ordered spring rolls and salt & pepper chips, before heading inside to get a drink from The Balcony Bar.
The food was fantastic and the drinks service by Andy and Molly-Rose was excellent as ever…both highly recommended.
Anyway, energy suitably replenished I got back to the boundary rope to get some images of the York innings. A score just over 200 is probably 20 to 40 runs short of the sort of score that is expected on this ground, but the unknown element on this opening day of the season was the playing surface.
The first few overs seemed okay, but then the wickets started to fall, and York appeared to struggle to make runs. Guy Darwin impressed early on and ended up scoring 38 runs off 43 balls, but his teammates seemed to be struggling to stay at the crease, with most only managing to score a few runs.

As the drinks break was taken around the 25 over mark, it was clear that York wasn’t going to reach the target set and it was more a question of when they would run out of wickets.
I was surprised how well they played after the break, and it took the home team until the 39th over to bowl the visitors out for just 103. Harrogate had won by 103 runs, with Harrogate's William Harwood impressing with three wickets for just six runs!
So, a good day for Harrogate, earning ten points and sitting second in the table – although who really looks at a table in the first few weeks of the season!

I’d managed to find a game to cover on the [cough] ‘opening’ day of the season and play hadn’t been interrupted by rain at all (although there were a few drops near the end of the Harrogate innings).
Despite it not being a close game overall, there had been a few interesting battles between the batsmen and bowlers, and genuinely an entertaining match to start the 2024 season. Now we can only hope that a spell of good weather will dry more grounds out in the next couple of weeks and the league campaigns for all teams can get underway.
Oh! The title? The words of encouragement from one Harrogate player to his bowler!

the difference between static and dynamic characters on the dream smp
Hi, hello, it's Ruby, back with another PSA because this fandom (specifically the people on Twitter) keeps getting worse.

Recently, people started claiming c!Techno was boring because he never had any character development.
Now, this may come as a surprise to some of you, but if you in any capacity decide to study the ins and outs of creative writing, you'd learn that characters don't need to have character development to be compelling, loved by the audience, and have a complex personality.
This is what is called a static character. Not to be confused with flat characters. What's the difference?
Most articles seem to agree on this;
"Static characters should not be confused or mixed up with flat, one-dimensional characters. Though neither changes as the story progresses, if a character remains unchanged, it does not mean that he is one-dimensional like a flat character. A static character can be perfectly interesting, like Sherlock Holmes, who is completely ingenious, eccentric, and sometimes jerky. He never changes, but the audience still loves him. Thus, a static character could be the protagonist too, and a flat character, on the other hand, only plays a side role in the story." - ( link to definition )
Static characters are ones that don't experience any personal growth during the span of the story. They're often used in writing, because they're realistic and can be interesting if well-written. This article provides examples such as the aforementioned Sherlock Holmes, Captain America from The Avengers, and TommyInnit from the Drea- [gunshots]
But in all seriousness, c!Tommy is very easily a static character; a lot of the criticism of his character is about the fact that he doesn't change. He does gain experience and new relationships, he does suffer and becomes more and more traumatized, he does make choices out of impulse or emotion, but none of that is character development - he never overcomes his character flaws, including selfishness, stubbornness, and a lack of compassion or empathy for others. And I do not blame him for it as a person, and I do not consider him a badly-written character, even if he's a little frustrating to watch sometimes.
c!Tommy has two main reasons why he remains a static character.
a) he doesn't live in a constructive environment
It is normal for boys Tommy's age to be low on empathy. It's completely normal for them to be chaotic, immature pricks, because that is part of their growth. All of this would be just fine if c!Tommy was growing up in a highschool; however, he in actuality grew up on a land ruled by politics, wars and conflict.
I do not like using the age excuse, because I do not believe it makes his bad choices any more justified, but it's easy to realize why him being in such a position could stunt his personal growth.
At that age, you need guidance, whether it be from teachers, parents, or whatever other figures you're able to find around you. Usually, it is not difficult to find good people to look up to in today's world, but for c!Tommy, that isn't true.
In the pre-L'Manberg, post-Tommy era, there was moderate peace. Yes, there were conflicts, but none of them were damaging in the long term for anyone involved, and they were chaotic scuffles more than fights of ideals.
Once c!Wilbur came along, c!Tommy latched onto him. We all know how that went.
None of the adults Tommy had looked up to were in any capacity helpful to him growing or becoming a better person. He helped lead a revolution to help Wilbur gain power, he was lead to help Wilbur lead and unfair election, and witnessed the breakdown of the man he trusted shortly after. He was subjected to emotional manipulation by Dream, and then came to the wrong person for help. None of these things are reasons for positive change.
b) it's his major character flaw
Even in the few chances he had at genuine change, at forgiveness, at letting go, all provided by the environment or people around him, he didn't take them. Tommy doesn't like change, he fights it, and that is why he always loses. He doesn't want to change for the better, and he despises himself when he changes for the worse.
He looks for peace in a lack of activity, growth, or development. He searches for happiness in not letting go of the past, but hanging onto it for dear life, terrified that the people around him might change because he doesn't want to. And that is why, as long as he keeps this mindset, he'll never find it.
While other characters, such as Tubbo, Dream, Wilbur or Quackity seek to change the world around them, for the better or the worse, to rewind or to progress, and are willing to change themselves accordingly, Tommy does the opposite, because his biggest fear is people drifting apart and leaving him behind.
Let's get back to the point, then; what makes Technoblade a static character, and a good one at that?
His motivation is simple; he is a lawful character who sticks to his morals through thick and thin, follows a strict inner code, and is loyal to people above all.
On top of that, he is given no reason to change his morals.
No one's arguments against c!Techno have ever made much sense, let's be honest, and ever since he'd entered the server, Techno's been proven right over and over and over again.
He saw Wilbur face the consequences of having power over other people and then losing it, seeing the influence of corruption on the man he worked with. He was forced by the government to kill another person, to kill an ally, to kill an innocent. He was betrayed and used by the Pogtopian revolution, which knowingly kept things from Techno and fought to seize power, rather than destroy it. He was unfairly executed without a trial by corrupt politicians just absolutely demolishing the Geneva convention, holy crap people call Techno a war criminal, just in that one stream New L'Manberg commited so many war crimes-
Point stands that people say one thing and then do the other. Talk of freedom and then force people to do things (and no, forcing people not to force other people to do things doesn't count nor does it make Techno a hypocrite, get a better argument). Techno was never manipulated or swayed to someone's side against his ideals because he's not a man of words; he believes in what he sees, not what people tell him, especially since he's been repeatedly lied to.
That is the first thing a good static character needs; a strong motivation. Through everything that's happened, I'd say without a doubt that Technoblade has the strongest motivation out of everyone, which is to emancipate people from the tyranny of their rulers - not just sing about it and then establish a dictatorship - but to in fact do it, no matter the cost.
He's a very Paragon-type character, which is a common type of static; his moral code is too strong to allow emotional change.
Another thing a static character needs is personality. And Techno - if you watch his streams, not just others' perspectives - has a lot of that. From his bond with Phil and Ranboo to fondness of animals to sense of humour, the character is entertaining to watch and follow. You know what to expect of him, you know he won't betray, and that despite the flaws he has he will not let personal issues hold him back. He wins because he trains, and he puts hours into pulling crazy stunts, and he's persistent - it's satisfying for the people watching his perspective to see his efforts pay off.
His interactions with others are characterized by an attempt at kindness, no matter how many times he might fail at separating his personal life from the ideals he's pursuing.
And that is compelling! To draw parallels to Tommy again, the kid has so much personality that other characters could borrow from him and he'd still be fun to watch!
Neither Tommy nor Techno are flat characters, and I think that is the mistake a lot of people make when misinterpreting both the characters; Tommy and Techno are amazing examples of great static characters in fiction, and I'd like to applaud cc!Tommy and cc!Techno for being brilliant writers.

thoughts of chain of iron
my favorite scenes in the book were jordelia’s wedding and the townsend’s party (chapter five and six were so fun to read)
i really liked the beginning the book but i found the middle to be boring, the book picks up speed towards the end.
when i finished chog i hadn’t made up my mind about grace yet but now that i am done with coi i have decided that i don’t care too much about her? i’ve seen people say that they adore her and i don’t understand that sentiment. i could see why people would find her an interesting character though
there were too many descriptions in this book, the weather was mentioned almost every single page and it got old pretty quickly
i feel like nothing happened for the majority of the book? i dont like fight scenes that much but throughout the book there weren’t almost any? i was 400 pages into the book and so far there had only been one very boring fight scene against that demon that was in the factory
why was filomena hyped up so much? i swear cc made such a big deal about filomena and she didn’t even want to reveal her name and i thought she was going to be an important character, but she only was there for like 1.5 scenes and it was so disappointing
alastair was my favorite character in this book, i think that he grew a lot and i loved that he was held accountable for everything he did and i think that is what makes him an enjoyable character (when characters do dumb stuff and don’t face the consequences it is boring)
reading cordelia’s pov was so funny (and frustrating) because it was obvious that james was in love with her and she still made the most far fetched unreasonable excuses to convince herself otherwise
i am really sad that there wasn’t more thomastair in this book and i think it was very noble of alastair to not want thomas to have to choose between his friends and him, i am pretty sure that they will probably be together in by the end of cot unless something horrible happens, which i hope is not the case
i was really disappointing with matthew’s character. that scene in which he showed up to cordelia’s house, spied on alastair and cordelia after their dad died, insulted alastair in front of cordelia, and then just started talking about his own problems rubbed on me the wrong way and i hate how his alcoholism is being handled, but im also glad that he called james out on his bullshit? it obviously wasn’t james’ fault but it was nice to see him stand up for cordelia
i hated the love triangle, when i finished chog i didn’t really care who cordelia ended up with, and now that im done with coi i still don’t care too much about who she ends up with but i think that her ending up with james would make more sense and that is probably what will happen which means that the love triangle was a complete waste of time
i really wish that cordelia and matthew’s relationship had remained completely platonic especially because i don’t think cc has ever put focus on a relationship between a man and a woman that isn’t strictly romantic and it would have been nice to show that men and women can be only friends (and by this i mean that there was never any romantic drama between them, so clary and simon don’t count)
anna and ariadne will probably end up together despite the fact that ariadne deserves so much better than anna
anna’s behavior in this book was immature and it got old pretty quickly, the way ariadne was treated throughout the entirety of their relationship was horrible, and i don’t understand if we were meant to root for them? also the way anna treated ariadne reminded me of some of the things anna said in chog and i just want to say that calling the women you have slept with your conquests and writing their names in a list is gross, and disrespectful towards women. coi made me dislike anna unfortunately
matthew insulting alastair every time cordelia was around got old and rubbed one me the wrong way because matthew is supposedly in love with cordelia and he knows that cordelia adores alastair and the least he could is just shut up?? about alastair?? just for cordelia’s sake
i think effie was the best part of the book
i thought that jesse’s resurrection would be take up more page time because i’m pretty sure that cc hinted that jesse would play a larger role in coi than in chog (and in a way she wasn’t lying)
i think that lucie’s marks will probably be stripped or she will become an iron sister (i don’t see why cc would have included that iron sister comment if it won’t be relevant later)
im really disappointed with lucie and cordelia’s friendship, the barely talked, the had like two scenes together in a 650 page book, they just seem like people who sometimes talk to each other, their friendship is so dry
matthew telling alastair that if he didn’t talk to charles it meant that he was a bad person was manipulative and cruel. alastair, unlike matthew, is trying to become a better person and literally everybody saw it except him. i can’t believe cordelia didn’t say anything to him
the whole misunderstanding thing between james and cordelia is so dumb and i KNOW that it will take like 400/500 pages of cot for them to get together and it will be so annoying
that scene in which james confronted grace was very satisfying
cc needs to quit it with the incest, it’s disgusting and unnecessary, it looks like it will not actually go to that in cot (thank god) and therefore she just put it there because she’s gross

i dont know if this is an unpopular opinion but i hope lucie’s character takes a dark turn? i think she has so much potential and i think that maybe she was starting to become a darker character in coi but i couldn’t really tell because she didn’t have that much page time
i really want more christopher scenes, i know that he’s not exactly a main character but he was barely in the book and that made me sad :/
matthew saying that he would not drink in paris so that cordelia would come with him rubbed on me the wrong way because that’s not how it works, and i hope that cc doesn’t portray alcoholism as something that goes away because you’re in love with someone
i knew jesse and lucie would run away at some point, i just thought that it would be by the end of cot (pretty sure they will be found and then there will be trouble and maybe they’ll escape again or there will be more trouble)
my favorite scene in the entire book was when effie found james tied to the bed and requested a raise
when cordelia comes back there is going to be so much guilt because of lucie being missing and i am not here for it

Bunnix using her umbrella to fly like Mary Poppins
Ladybug coming up with an overly convoluted Rube Goldberg machine type plan with her lucky charm, but not having some of the components, so she just sends Pegasus to the store in the middle of a battle
Characters who are close slowly finding out about each other’s superhero identities in funny ways
Pigella picking up something massive and like 10x heavier than her and chucking it
I really want one of these heroes’ tools to be a comically large anime-style weapon, but alas I don’t think they’d do it
Season finale boss fight featuring all the new heroes, which is totally gonna happen at some point, but it would look really busy on screen to have them all running around at once, so I’d split them into smaller teams based on their skills to carry out specific parts of Ladybug’s Epic 36-Step Plan™️. It would make for a satisfying “oh yeah, it’s all coming together” montage and also give us some unique character interactions.

I want an animal to get akumatized. Someone’s dog who feels lonely when their favorite human gets a new, demanding job and turns into a terrifying Cerberus beast or something.
Mayor Bourgeois allocates some taxpayer dollars into a LB bank account to support her, and she has to make the very important decision on whether to save it for a real emergency or buy 17 hamburgers.
Okay part of me doesn’t want to make kwami/future hero predictions in case I accidentally come up with something way cooler than what will really happen and then be disappointed, but the other part of me is like hee hoo predikshun. So don’t expect these to actually happen lol.
I won’t talk about Multimouse because we kinda know everything about her, but she looks cute and it’s nice to see two heroes who aren’t super skinny.
The silhouette of Minotaurox in the intro doesn’t offer a lot of insight other than his epic horns. I have no idea what his tool might be. His costume looks to be pretty simple/practical, though, which is in line with Ivan’s character. I heard a theory that his power will be increasing in size, and it makes sense looking at Stoneheart and the pattern of flipping the characters’ flaws on their head, but that sounds kind of boring to me, especially compared to all the other creative abilities.
Tigresse’s silhouette makes me think her design will be awesome. Her tail looks like it might be her tool. It kind of resembles Amethyst’s whip from SU so maybe she can use it to grab things like Ladybug does with her yo-yo. I heard a theory that her power will be invisibility which I support because it takes the flaw that turned Juleka into Reflekta (wanting to be invisible out of insecurity) and makes it powerful like the stealth of a tiger.
From the silhouette, Caprikid looks a bit like a beginner’s Trollhunters cosplay, but I’m sure he’ll be cool. I’ve seen people argue whether he’s Nate or Marc and I’m positive he’s Marc (making Nate CC) so if anyone asks for an explanation I’ll make the comprehensive post on why. He’s holding his tool, and I’ve seen debate over which direction it’s in. If he’s holding it pointed up it looks like a giant calligraphy brush, but I think he’s holding it pointed down and the “brush” is just a decoration on the end. I’ve heard a theory that it’s a shepherd’s cane which is my favorite one. Personal idea here: I’d make his power telekinesis. Pretty basic, but I can imagine it being very useful for the type of scenarios we see in the show without it being OP. I like the idea of using a cane to “shepherd” something through the air. This could reflect Reverser’s desire for control, but flip it to be more collected and useful.
I fully support Coq Courage’s ninja pants, they are simply Correct. It’d be cool if his tool was a bow and arrow, and that seems like a pretty popular theory. The shape to the left of his torso looks like it might be a quiver but it’s probably just his other arm. Thumb rings are used in archery, but what little we’ve seen of the miraculous (disguised on Marinette and Chloe) shows a different type of ring. Still tho. Also get ready for my crazy never-gonna-happen idea: the bow can turn into a hang glider. Roosters can fly, but not super well/freely, which could translate to gliding. It’d add some versatility to the way the heroes move around since a lot of the temporary ones can only run, and it would let him reach places LB might not be able to. I’ve heard a theory that his power will be supersonic voice which could contrast how Nathaniel is bad at communicating and quiet until he gets mad and blows up.
Orikko might be the kwami of illumination. Roosters are associated with the sun and Evillustrator’s power was sourced from light. At first I thought his transformation words might be “sunrise” and “sunset” but someone said the activation code could be “rise and shine” which sounds awesome.
Traquemoiselle, believe it or not, is actually in the intro, she’s just hidden at the very top and only a snippet of the head is showing. All we know is that she has round dog ears. Barrk is surprisingly one of the more fleshed-out kwamis as of now, having a few solid lines of characterization in Furious Fu. Kwamis are usually yin-yang to their holder, so Barrk fits Sabrina perfectly, being loyal yet independent while Sabrina is loyal and an absolute doormat. No clue about her tool. Her power is kinda in the name: tracking. Maybe she can track down some one specific thing of her choice, but maybe she can sniff out akumas. As seen in Dark Owl and Gang of Secrets, Hawkmoth can be creative with akuma placement, so she can probably save the team from some close calls.
I have no theories for the transformation words of the other kwamis. Ziggy or Stompp could include “horns” or “charge” and Roaar “stripes” but I can’t think of any phrase including those words that isn’t too similar to an existing one. There are some phrases based on powers, though, not the animal. Or maybe they’ll just give up and give us another iteration of “Sass, scales slither”.
I think the theme for one of these remaining new heroes might be “assertion”. A lot of them struggle with that as their civilian selves, and the animals that are left can all be associated with independence/dominance, not that the animal traits always play into what the heroes are.
Ok last one, long one: in season 3, Luka’s main traits were “cool and nice” which doesn’t make for an interesting, complex major character, and at first he seemed like the perfect love interest, but from an outside perspective the extent of his kindness is kind of disturbing. I’m hoping they can flip this around and turn it into a character flaw where he has practically no boundaries, and it turns into a problem. Maybe he could agree to run random errands for the background characters for nothing in return, and at first it’s just him being nice, but later people start seeing his help as an obligation. They get peeved when he’s unavailable one day and get akumatized into a “boss rush” of classic akumas, effectively trapping and forcing him to help them. Then Tigresse Pourpe comes and helps save the day, expanding on Juleka and Luka’s relationship. The resolution can teach kids that putting yourself first isn’t necessarily selfish, and that sitting back and letting people take advantage of your kindness isn’t heroic.
There’s probably some stuff I forgot which I can put in a different post later, but lmk if you want a separate post about any of these things in more detail! This was just me rambling out all my new hyperfixation thoughts. Also if anyone uses any of the hypotheticals/scenarios as a prompt I’d love to see it.

The culmination of my CC efforts, risk 16ing it. I'm sure someone even a little smarter than me could use my team to full on risk 33 this, but I am not That Smart, so I am perfectly content with actually getting SSS. I don't know, I'm really just not That Good at the game, I highly doubt I understand the more basic strategies that would make the game much easier, but whatever. I don't mind, the game is fun as is.
So what have I learned? Well, Eunectes is still really fun, I love getting to bring her along. Surtr is annoying, definitely not my kind of playstyle but a bit too useful for me to pass up. Ch'alter is a Bit Much in terms of ease of use compared to overall efficacy, but I can't help but love it because she's fun as hell. I love pressing a button and just seeing the carnage of her S3, she's fun. I'm probably not using Kal'tsit properly, but I also do not care.
More importantly I think I've learned another reason that I think I don't often perform as well, and that's that I greatly enjoy playing defensively. I find it a lot of fun to set up a defensive line with a backup of supporters (snipers, casters, medics, supporters) and wait for the enemy to come to me. The early game is very heavily about playing defensively and I loved it, I wish I could go back with the knowledge I have now and start over just so I can enjoy getting to be defensive. As time has passed though, I've realized that I don't think that's the point anymore. I think that Arknights has gotten to a point where strong defense isn't always possible, and that kinda makes me sad.
Now, let me explain, I am not saying I am correct about this. My only 6 star defender is Eunectes, I am NOT stacked in terms of defensive units, and my only 6 star medic is Kal'tsit, everybody's favorite Harmacist, who as it turns out isn't the best as just a healer. What I am saying is that's how it feels to me. A lot of chapter 8 missions needed you to take the fight to the enemy, thematically a very correct thing to do, but it's not necessarily a playstyle I enjoy as much. I don't like retreating and redeploying, I'm not fond of having to quickly take down a drone that casts Orbital Strike, I'm especially not a fan of JT8-3, a mission I've yet to beat.
It's kind of sad in a way, now that I'm capable enough to strategize on my own, I've realized that what I enjoyed the most was what I did when I wasn't strategizing on my own.
On the other hand, I love what I HAVE been able to do so far. Like I said, I like playing defensively with what I've got, and so nothing is more fun to me than doing these missions full on defensively when that probably isn't the best thing for me. I mean, Howling Desert essentially puts you on a tine limit, the time isn't on your side, but I still just let the enemies come to me and figured out what to do about it.
Infiltrators were the most annoying, probably an intentional thing, but I managed to figure out a way to handle them that really satisfied me. There's two, so my eventual strategy was Just Use Surtr. Surtr can easily handle the hologram of the first Infiltrator as well as the Infiltrator, but she won't survive to the second one, and her redeployment timer takes too long for her to come back in time. Turns out, Mon3tr with S3 active can one shot the hologram, so activating the skill as soon as its first attack lands means the Infiltrator isn't even a problem.
It was fun to figure it out! I just kinda wish that the insanely strong units weren't so focused on offense. Eunectes is so fun to me because she's really good defensively apart from her block-1 stat, which means I have to plan around it. Idunno, I could go on for a while.
Actually I do have one last complaint, but this isn't really about the CC season. Why does silence getting removed happen so often with challenges? I understand that it does add challenge, but god I hate adding challenge by removing full tools. Maybe it's just because my favorite operator in terms of gameplay is Lappland, but removing silence entirely and then going "that's the challenge" feels so boring to me. This is like, a nitpick by the way, it's not even as common as I'm making it sound, it's just something I've noticed a couple times that's always annoyed me. No other statuses you can inflict ever get this treatment other than stun, which I'm kind of okay with due to the immense power of stuns. I think my only real issue with it is just how silence doesn't seem like it's useful THAT often, and then when it is the challenge mode is "don't use it". I'm going to bed, I have a doctors appointment in 6 hours.
Contingency Contracts hard, me not big brain, me like big wall. Please sign my petition to make it so that if you silence enemies they get deleted from the game's code for everyone, I think that'd be a fair and balanced buff.

in regards to your weird child cc ask recently, saying that people who have been abused support you creating it, is an awful excuse. one singular person that was once abused saying they’re okay with that stuff existing does not mean they speak for every single person that has been abused. that excuse is used as if to pardon questionable behavior. it’s literally the same as some racist saying a racial slur and defending it when others ask by telling them one singular person of that race excuses it. it does not justify doing it. something morally incorrect is still incorrect even if one particular person says it’s okay. one person allowing something does not mean they are a gate keeper for all.
in regards to the last sentence in your first paragraph, about if thinking that they can do something indecent with that content, then it speaks of their own promiscuity? nonsense. to start, that is circular reasoning which is a logical fallacy used by lawyers to manipulate and get people to seem guilty by twisting others words in favor of whatever point they’re making. if the premises are true, then the conclusion must also be true. with that out of the way and onto my second point, in your case, you’re saying that somebody having the knowledge of pedos existing and knowing what type of media they may or may not like, immediately makes them pedophilic, or “promiscuous” as well. circular reasoning is great for twisting words, manipulating, and making others out to be wrong in the public eye but if you can recognize it, it loses its power. because this clearly is not the case when it comes to pedophilia.
i feel as though i shouldn’t have to say this but i will. someone with a job that involves finding and taking down pedophiles by observing their behavior and seeing the ugly side of society does not immediately make that person a pedophile as well. but to you, it apparently does if we decide to use your logic, your wording. i understand this may not have been your intention, but it was still worded the way it was. your circular reasoning does not apply in a situation like this. if i can predict that a pedo who plays the sims would use your cc to satisfy their own lowlife urges, that does not make me morally promiscuous. it simply means that i can observe the world around me and use it in my favor to predict situations, and stop them if i need to. and i hope the person your comment was directed towards also knows this.
even if you mean no harm by making content like that, it does not mean that something harmful will/could not follow. it makes you not only complacent to lowlife behavior, but a contributor as well. even if you don’t have the bad intention. i mean, people who sell drugs don’t always intend for them to end up in the hands of children, but shit happens, right? if you don’t care about what could or could not be done with your content then that’s fine. this is just a video game anyway, and it’s undeniable that having pedophiles sticking to video games will always be better than the alternative. although some of this paragraph rings some truth, i hope my sarcasm has been showing thorough properly.
i did a very loose skim over the rest of the post(s) but i don’t feel the need to speak on it. the first paragraph had enough harmful wording to urge me to say something. i agree with some of the other things said, and don’t care or find the others viable in regards to defending your situation. you can ignore this completely, or answer and use more (il)logical fallacies to attempt at breaking down what i’ve said. it’s all in your hands. i’ve said my piece. i have no ill-intent with sending this ask, only the hope that you consider my words and understand that your first paragraph was an illogical and awful way to defend your point and did more harm than good.

Well, you saw that this opinion was expressed in the tumblr in my ask, but people also wrote to me in private messages and I discussed this topic in real life with a few other people who are not advocates of pedophilia and who were subjected to violence. I had to provide in my defense some documents proving this or what? Or should I make excuses to zealous defenders for every word they misunderstood? This gives them no reason to raid my ask and wish me death. And the fact that I'm not trying to whitewash my name after all this scandal also does not give a reason to hang labels on me and come up with new bullshit that I have nothing to do with. - Oh, so I have to worry about abstract people who might commit a crime because of me? Chapter 4: A Good Father
         The next morning, Fraser and Fergus looked up in amazement and delight as Claire joined them for breakfast. Normally, "the men" had breakfast alone on Saturday and Sunday mornings because they were early risers and Claire liked to sleep in on her days off. After breakfast, Claire asked Fraser if he had ten minutes for a private conversation. She had just made her request when Fergus looked up in horror. Then he looked at his father angrily:
        "Papa, what happened last night?"
        Fraser and Claire looked at each other in surprise, then replied, as if from one mouth:
        "Nothing!"
        Fergus, who had slipped from his chair in the meantime, ran to Claire, who was sitting on the other side of the table, and held his arms out to her. Claire lifted him onto her lap.
        "Claire, you're not going to leave us, are you? You're not, how do you say, quiddeling?"
        "Quit, Fergus, that's quitting. No, I'm not quitting."
        "Then why do you want to talk to Papa? On a Sunday morning?"
        Claire pulled the boy's head to her chest. Without realizing it, she slowly began to move her body back and forth as if to lull him to sleep.
        "Fergus, your Papa hasn't done anything wrong and I'm not going to quit. I have to discuss something with your Papa, business stuff, boring stuff. Meanwhile, you can go upstairs, wash your face, brush your teeth and put your clothes on."

        The little curly head nodded.
        "I am so looking forward to spring and summer, Claire."
        "So, can you tell me why?"
        "Because when it gets warm again, I'll play soccer with you again."
        Claire laughed, then stroked Fergus over the head again and let him slide slowly to the ground. The boy immediately wanted to run out of the room, but Claire called him back again:
         "Fergus!"
        Astonished, the boy turned around. Claire pointed her head in the direction of Fraser:
        "Fergus, your Papa loves you very much and he would never do anything to hurt or harm you.”
        Fergus understood. Slowly, he walked over to Fraser, who stretched out his arms and lifted him onto his lap.
        "Excuse me, Papa."
        Jamie pressed the boy to his chest.
        "Apology accepted."
        They remained like that for a moment. Then Fraser went on:
        "I would never do anything or want Claire to leave us. I'm happy that you're so good with her, that you get along so well. You have nothing to worry about. I do want you to be well, Fergus."
        "Thanks, Papa."
        Instead of an answer, Fraser kissed the child on the forehead and pressed him to his chest again. Then he put Fergus on the floor and said:
        "Go now. Wash up and get dressed. Let's go to the museum village at Düppel."

        Fergus beamed and he could not help but ask:
        "Claire, would you like to join us..."
        "No, today is your day with your Papa. And for me today is my day off. I'll see you for tea or later for dinner."
        Fergus nodded and surrendered to his fate. As he closed the door behind him, Fraser asked:
        "Claire, what's on your mind? Have you seen the Sunday papers?"
        "No, but I can imagine what they're writing."
        Fraser reached for the chair next to him, where one of the Berlin Sunday newspapers was lying, and handed it to Claire.
        "Berlin's new glamorous couple publicly declared their love"
        was to be read there. And of course the corresponding pictures were also to be seen. One of these pictures had been moved into the center of the page and was framed by a kitschy big red heart.
        Claire shook her head, closed the pages and returned the newspaper to Fraser.
        "No, that's not why I want to talk to you. It’s about David Gehrmann and his girlfriend, Geillis Duncan."
        Fraser looked at her in amazement.
        "I've known Geillis for several years, and I've known David since they've been together, about four years."
        Fraser didn't say a word, and kept looking at her questioningly.
        "You will certainly wonder why I didn't tell you this last night. Or the moment we met them. I was so surprised and needed some time to process this. I didn't want to hide it from you."
        "Okay, but what's the problem?"
        "Geillis was the one who showed me your ad in the “Wirtschaftswoche” and urged me to apply for the job."
        "Did she also work in the ...”
        "No, she was an independent fashion consultant for many years ... in the higher-priced segment. But since she has been together with the 'rich Dave' ... she only does that now and then. She loves to have breakfast with a croissant, a strong coffee and a cigarette and to read some gossip magazines on the side. But she ran out of them and was ‘forced’ to look into the 'Wirtschaftswoche' that Dave had left on the breakfast table. She came to me very excited and showed me the job offer. Geillis knew that I had inherited some debts from my late husband and ... she said that with the three times my nurse's salary it would be able to pay them back faster. That same evening we put together my letter of application.
        "But this is a good story. I must be very grateful to her friend for drawing your attention to the job offer. What's the problem?"
        "The problem is that Geillis and I have been close for many years. She knows me better than perhaps anyone else. She sees through me when I try to lie to her and I expect she'll call me in the next few days with questions."
        Fraser nodded.
        "I see."
        For a moment they were silent.
        "What could we do to convince her friend? Do you have an idea?" Fraser then asked.
        "I don't know. All I know is I don't want to face her questions... alone right now."
        Fraser nodded again.
        "What do you say we invite Geillis and Dave for dinner and give them the home story the tabloids want us to do?
        "That would certainly be one way..."
        Claire didn't seem to be sure and suddenly there were some soft knocks at the door. They both knew that this would be Fergus and that this was the end of the time when they could talk in private.
        "Come in!"
        Fergus stepped through the door and smiled. After closing the door behind him, he ran to meet his father, who picked him up and put him on his lap. Fraser looked at him with a slightly probing look, then he said:
        "You did good!"
        "What?" the boy asked, turning his face up to Frasers.
        "Well, you washed and dressed properly, and most of all you knocked!”
        Fergus sighed.
        "That's what I've been training with Claire... for the last week. She said it was rude not to knock and that you don't do that.”
        "Claire's right. Now go get your jacket. Then we can go."
        As Fergus stormed off, Fraser turned to Claire again:
        "Thank you. I spent many weeks trying to teach him. At some point, I gave up. He was always so enthusiastic and forgot about it."
        "He will and can continue to be enthusiastic. There is no way I'm going to talk him out of it. But now that he's in school..."
        Fraser smiled and nodded.
        Suddenly a call came from the hallway:
        "Papa, are you coming? I'm ready."
        "Duty calls. I've got to go," said Fraser and stood up, "we'll talk again tonight about what we can do about Geillis and Dave.”
        "Thanks. Have a good time. See you for tea?"
        "Yes, sure," returned Fraser. He almost leaned over to her, hugged her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. But he could jut hold himself back

        When "the two men" had left, Claire cleared the table and brought the dishes into the kitchen. She knew that this was not one of her duties. But why should the dishes be left there until Mrs. Curtius came and prepared the table for tea? In the kitchen, Claire made herself a big sandwich that she wanted to eat for lunch. Then she took the elevator to her apartment. After making herself a cup of tea, she sat down at her desk and began to write a diary. There were so many thoughts going through her mind and journaling had been Claire's way of organizing her thoughts and giving them direction for many years. Two hours later, she made herself a fresh can of tea and started eating her sandwich. Afterwards she picked up a book, lay down on her couch and started reading. When she noticed that she was getting tired, she set the alarm clock on her smartphone and some minutes after that she fell asleep.
        Shortly after four pm, Claire's smartphone rang. She stretched herself. Then she got up, folded the blanket and went into the bathroom. Ten minutes later she entered the dining room, where she was greeted by "the two men" and a large pot of fresh tea. The intense aroma of the tea enveloped her, and for a moment Claire thought that there was no way she wanted to be anywhere else right now. Mrs. Curtius had already set the table and around the teapot trays with small sandwiches, scones and tea cakes were waiting for them to enjoy. Claire had to smile as she watched Fergus, who was still talking to her excitedly, with his eyes was all over the tasty delicacies. Fraser, too, had not escaped Claire's gaze and he grinned.

        During the meal that followed, Jamie had to warn his foster son several times not to speak with his mouth full, otherwise he would have to call him a rowdy buffoon. Fergus laughed, knowing full well that Fraser never meant any harm when he had to rebuke him. But then his hunger was satisfied and he began to tell Claire about what he had experienced that afternoon ‘with Papa’. He described in detail the trip to the museum village of Düppel. It was one of the ten most visited museums for children in and around Berlin.            At 11:00 a.m. they had taken part in a guided tour of the medieval village and visited various craft houses. Afterwards they went to the stables where they could observe shaggy historical animal species such as Skudden sheep and grazing pigs.

        Finally, they visited the Center for Experimental Medieval Archaeology. Here father and son experienced how weaving and braiding was done and what traditional handicraft looked like in the Middle Ages. They listened to a short lecture about how tar is made from wood and what the Neanderthal man had to do with it. There were medieval games for children in the afternoon, but by now "the Frasers" were really hungry and Jamie asked the driver to take them to the Island Café on Potsdam's Friendship Island. There "the Frasers" and the driver had lunch, watched the pedal boats pass by and enjoyed the beautiful landscape. Afterwards, they took a walk through the lovingly laid out garden and visited the extensive water playground, which, however, was no longer in full operation due to the season. When they returned to the parking lot, they were happy but also a little exhausted. Together they were looking forward to being soon in their warm home and with Claire. However, none of the "Fraser men" mentioned this. They both just said how much they were looking forward "to have tea".

        After tea they went over to the conservatory where Fraser had built up the electrical railway a few days earlier. While "the two men" devoted themselves to their hobby, sending all kinds of trains over the tracks, Claire placed one of the armchairs in front of the fireplace so that she could feel the warmth of the fireplace in her back. It also allowed her to observe "the two men" and to look through the Panoramic window into the slightly lit garden every now and then.
        At 6:00 p.m. Claire left to set the table for dinner. The food prepared by Mrs. Curtius was in a special refrigerator, so Claire only had to set the plates, glasses and cutlery. She could then take out the plates with cheese and sausage, as well as salads and bread, and put them on the table. Had she ever felt so much joy doing chores like this before? Claire could not remember. Suddenly, she remembered a phrase that Uncle Lamb had whispered softly in her ear whenever she thanked him for anything: "What you do for love is always done good."

        After they had eaten, Fraser took Fergus to shower and Claire cleared the table. Then she joined "the two men" who were already sitting on the pirate bed in Fergus' room. To Claire's surprise, there was a big book on Fergus' knees that she had never seen before. He held it out to her and she read the title: "A year in the Middle Ages: Eating and celebrating, traveling and fighting, ruling and punishing, believing and loving.”  
        "Fergus proudly announced, "Papa gave me this today," and immediately added, "Will you read it to me, Claire?
        "No," she replied, adding, "Today is my day off. Your Papa is reading to you today. But I like to listen and you can snuggle up to me while listening. Okay?"
        Fergus beamed and handed Fraser the book.
        When the child had fallen asleep, they quietly left the room. Fraser pointed to the door to his living room.
        "Let's just have a quick chat about what we're going to do about Geillis and Dave."
        Claire nodded.
        Fraser asked if she wanted a drink, but Claire refused. As they sat in the armchairs in front of the fireplace she wasted no time:
        "I thought about what you said this morning. I think it's the only way to convince Geillis."
        "All right. I'll call Dave. But may I remind you that I am leaving on Wednesday for a ten-day business trip to Scandinavia and Asia. I will not return until Saturday of the following week."
        Fraser had pulled his smartphone out of his pocket and started wading through his calendar.
        "I kept the days after that, Sunday through Wednesday inclusive, to spend time with Fergus and give you time off. The earliest we could meet Geillis and Dave would be at the weekend after. Do you think you can get Gilis at distance by then?”
        "Yes," agreed Claire, who knew what he was getting at. "After all, I'll be responsible for Fergus 24/7. I can't meet with her or make long phone calls."
        Fraser nodded. Then he added:
        "And you don't have to tell your friend about your days off either."
        "Exactly. There's no law, even in Germany, that requires me to do that."
        Fraser stood up and Claire thought he wanted to end the conversation, but he slowly walked over to the glass door leading out onto the balcony and looked out. He began to speak softly:
        "Claire, I don't know how you feel about all this. I ... don't know what you think of me. Our company ... we ... move millions, sometimes hundreds of millions across the globe every day. I often wonder how it could have come to this. We started a small business many generations ago and now it has become a multinational corporation.”

        He paused for a moment.
        "I try to do everything I can to make sure it's not just about profit. We support charitable organizations and NGO's all over the world. And wherever we employ people, we not only pay the legally required minimum wage. Here the minimum wage is a little over 8 euros. We have been paying over 13 euros for years. I want employees who do not need two or three jobs to feed their families. And yet ..."
        Again he paused for a moment.
        "I don't know, Claire, what you're thinking, Maybe you think I'm a person who uses money to get what I want. No matter what it costs. But, you know, I don't care about any of that. The company, this house, it all means nothing to me. I could sell it all tomorrow and I wouldn't miss it for the world."
        Fraser turned and looked at Claire.
        "The only thing that means anything to me, Claire, is that little human sleeping in his pirate bed over there."
        He took a deep breath in and out. Then he went on:
        "When I found him at that bridge in Paris ... at first I thought that there was only a bundle of dirty clothes lying there ... but then this bundle moved .... That evening, he first met me dismissively, even aggressively ... I sat down on the blank stones at some distance from him and began to talk to him ... and sometime that evening he gave me the greatest gift that you can give a person. He gave me his trust."
        Fraser swallowed. But only seconds passed, and then he was in control again.
        "I presume you know the Greek Stoics?"
        Claire smiled.
        "You couldn't be my uncle's niece and not know them," she replied.
        "I thought so. One of the Greek Stoics, Seneca, writes in one of his letters to Lucillus: 'Nothing good that we possess can really please us if we cannot share it with friends.’  I cannot give the child back the five years of his childhood that have already passed. But I can do everything to make the next years of his life better. I want to offer him all the possibilities ... he is a bright intelligent child. I want him to have the opportunity to go to the best schools, the best universities ... if he wants to. I want him to discover and develop his abilities and talents. Everything else here is not really of lasting value, you can't grasp it or hold on to it. What people call success, all the things that newspapers turn into headlines, is only a fleeting phenomenon. These things only acquire value because people attach value to them. When I die, do you really think I would miss having made a hundred million more profit? Certainly not. But I know that I will regret every opportunity I didn't take to do good to this cheeky dwarf. Do you understand that?"

        Claire had stood up and joined him.

        "Then you understand that we're doing this all for Fergus."
        She could have answered "yes" quickly, but when she saw what feelings were reflected on his face, Claire not only understood him, she felt what he felt.
        Gently, she put her right hand on his shoulder.
        "Jamie, you are a good father. You really are."
        Fraser looked at her and swallowed.
        "Do you really believe that or..."
        "No, no 'or'. I'm convinced of that because I've seen it with my own eyes every day I've spent here with you and Fergus so far.”
        "Thank you, Claire. It means a lot to me when you make that judgment."
        He was silent for a moment, but Claire sensed that deep inside there was something still moving him.
        "Claire, tell me honestly, did you take this job for the money?"
        Now she had to laugh.
        "It would be a lie if I told you that the generous salary hadn't played a role in my application.  About the other money ... I didn't know anything yet. As I said, my husband left me a mountain of debt and Geillis quite rightly said that with the money I earn from you I could reduce that debt. But in the end, it wasn't the money that tipped the scales in favor of taking the job. You know, I lost my parents when I was five years old as well and ... somehow there was something that connected me to Fergus right away. No, it wasn't the money that tipped the scales."
        A slight smile came over Fraser's face.
        "Thank you, Claire. For everything you're doing for Fergus and me. Sleep well."
        Claire wanted to tell him so many things, but she knew it was better to keep quiet now.
        "Good night, Jamie."
        As Fraser turned his gaze back to the dimly lit garden, she walked to the door. But before she touched the handle, she turned around briefly.
        "Jamie?"
        "Yes?" Fraser asked in surprise.
        "You're a good father. You're a good father, don't you forget that."

Hey anon! Thank you! I’m glad you’ve managed to get your decorations light up at night. As for the gap, sometimes, if a material has ‘alphatest enabled’ on ‘1′ it can interpret almost opaque (i.e. transparency at 50-70%) areas of the texture as fully transparent. Alphatest renders transparency strictly as true/false, or 1/0. I would recommend to turn alphatest off (set to ‘0′) and if you still need to have transparency in your day windows texture, make it work with ‘blend mode: blend’.

Ah, thank you Veetie! I’m so glad that so many people see Feverfew this way. I didn’t grew up in a town like this myself, but I really fell in love with small British towns and villages, so it was really something I wanted to try and recreate in-game.

Hello anon! You can download the whole thing, take the ‘FeverfewHoodCC’ folder and put it into your downloads folder without installing the whole thing. All the hood decorations, including river pieces, will appear as usual under ‘landmark’ and ‘misc’ submenu.

Is it me, or the first bit is lost somewhere? :D Well, lot imposters work a bit different comparing to usual CC. Although there’s still left some place for experiments and who knows, may be at some point we will be able to improve them somehow!

Story Process Challenge
Tagged by @nocturnalazure​ in the text, but I hope this counts :)
1. Your writing process - show us a part of your script or explain how you write your scenes. Do you write in screenplay format or novel format? Etc, etc.
Sims-stories I write in digital format almost exclusively and usually in dialogue form. Here’s the first page of “Wild Hunt”. It all started out with Lavinia’s character description and stayed there a very long time. Then it also has a stock of Gothic names, which is copied from another document, hence the German headline. Being me, I sometimes leave some silliness, like the extra-characters. (The thing about the blacksmith was that when these ‘barbarians’ caught an artisan, they sometimes crippled them so they couldn’t run away, but had to work for them. Unfortunately I couldn’t fit such a character into the story. He’s still there from brainstorming days)

This is the market scene from Chevalry, along with a lot of cut scenes. I always quote this as an example why some of the best scenes aren’t even there in my writing. The text is green because I used this to mark it as the story-in-the-story. (The expression ‘shock-blanket’ is a reference to an episode of Sherlock. Some expressions (”slain” “daughter to”) are also borrowed from Shakespeare-plays)

2. Scene building - show us you in the middle of scene building through pictures, gifs, or a video. Explain what is the best thing about scene building and what is the worst!
I rarely take pictures of half-built sets. Wherever possible, I prefer using places built by experienced builders. I have zero sense of architecture. A square small place is the most I can be trusted to do myself. Generally I prefer to work with decor and plants. This travelling cart was a different kind of challenge. I built it on a 10x10 lot and it had to be placed first, before I constructed a new set around it. On the second picture you also see the cleverly camouflaged mailbox :)

3. CC/Pose Making - do you make your own cc/poses for your scene? If so, what is your process like to create? Do you just go off the top of your head? Do you use reference photos?
I think it’s safe to say that I’m a pose-maker. Although I make a lot less poses than I used to. Partly because of time, partly because I don’t like the washed-out Blender under Windows 10 :/ In the heyday of Chevalry, I would quit the game and pose the scene myself, if I wasn’t 100% satisfied. Though the only scene I ever posed start-to finish was the haircutting-kiss. Nowadays, I rather try to work with existing poses. Back when I took requests, I sometimes worked with reference pictures, and they do give the scene some extra depth. The scene modelled after a still from “Anastasia” really taught me how much detail the artists had put into their characters’ expressions, and this translated back to the resulting poses.
4. Getting in the zone - What do you do to get in the zone to work on a scene? Examples include: show us your playlist you use when working on a scene, what’s your go-to scene snack/drink, etc.
I kinda miss living on my own, when I could dedicate a whole day to shooting a battle-scene for Chevalry. But in fact I decided to tell this story then and there because I knew it was the perfect time of my life for doing so. I’m super shy with music, and I have a limited music-library (by modern standards), which I listen to over and over again. Many of these songs have influenced characters, but can’t even bring myself to hunt them up on the internet.
5. Screenshot folder - give us a look into your screenshot folder to show us just how much goes into ONE scene for your story. (Scrapped pictures encouraged!!!)
Here is Of Chevalry, end of Chapter 6. The green ones are reference shots for depth of field blur (I don’t use Reshade). The ones with Sarmanna in a bath-suit are for editing her hands back into the picture, when they clipped through the dress.

MCarric Scenes, most recent: You’ll notice there’s a lot less greenscreen blur nowadays. I usually draw it with the blur-tool now. I still need to find a good occasion for this lovely rainbow I captured...

6. Captions - are you a caption on the picture kind of storyteller or captions in text box type of storyteller? Why? Do you do both?
Although I am more of a visual storyteller, I very much prefer the text in the post. I’m very given to typos and spelling errors and I’d hate having them baked into my pictures. Also I find the text easier to read in the post.
7. Editing!!!!! - explain and show us your process editing a scene through a video, gif, or picture. A Before and after will suffice if you aren’t in the middle of editing a scene as you answer this.
I like editing my pictures in a way that makes them look like they had been like this in game all along. Here’s Sarmanna in a bath-suit again. In cases like this one, you can even bring out the feeling a bit more. I could have dug her left arm out of the skirt. But as she’s feeling very shy and vulnerable in the scene, I made it look like her arm was close to her body. I also have a photoshop action which gives this slightly desaturated old-painting look to the images.

8. Throwback-  show us an ANCIENT story scene you did in the past and explain how you would do the scene differently today!
In 2014 I tried to tell the backstory of Anja Tilney, a Maplethorpe Island inhabitant. It was the first time I tried messing around with poses, and I remember I included this shot because Simmagmeg had just released these poses which meant much to her. This scene I still think turned out cute, but on the whole I wasn’t feeling the story any more, after a while. It was rather simply constructed, but still I felt I couldn’t do it justice with my skills back then.
I just reread it for the first time since (here...), and it isn’t quite as bad as I remembered, but back then I scrapped the project and decided to stay well away from Sims storytelling in the future...

So their human forms turned out to be pretty straightforward. I think they came out pretty decent nearly right off the bat! :)

Their Akiridion forms, on the other hand...those were tricky, as they involved a lot of custom content. And when I say custom content I mean literally MADE BY ME. ^^” I hand-altered pretty much every part of their Akiridion forms in some way or other.
Their hair is still a default EA mesh, but I wasn’t satisfied with the default color swatches so I had to go in and custom-recolor them.
I do have some CC I downloaded a while ago for Akiridion eyes, but for some reason custom eye colors don’t show up as selectable swatches in my game despite being in my mods folder, so I had to make some of my own...in the “face paint” category rather than the “eye color” category. But hey it worked! So fyi for anyone interested, you CAN override eye colors with face paint; I’d recommend that route if you wanna make some custom eyes o3o 
(theoretically you could also use this technique to have your Sim change eye color with each outfit, if you want!)
The clothes were the trickiest part. EA does have a glowing “alien suit” that’s pretty cool, but it only comes with green glow. At first I tried to just use that suit with a custom swatch for blue glow, which did actually work (looked a little rougher than the official swatch but was still functional, glow and all):

...but I still wasn’t quite satisfied with the overall aesthetic. It would be ok for an oc but didn’t really look enough like Aja and Krel to me. But what else could I do? I’m not good enough at modeling in Blender to create my own custom mesh for the outfits, and I couldn’t think of any EA full-body outfits that had the right shape I could recolor....
...UNLESS....
...what if I just painted it directly onto their skin as a “tattoo” like I do for custom fur patterns on the furry mod?!
This was a good start, but of course under normal circumstances Sims aren’t allowed to be “naked”; even if you remove all the clothes you can in CAS it’ll still give them non-removable underwear in its place. In order for the tattoo idea to work properly, I had to find a way around that as the game wouldn’t recognize the “tattoo” as clothes and try to make me put a different outfit on top of it.
So what I did was grab some skintight swimsuits and just...deleted the diffuse texture (as well as specular/shadow/etc maps), effectively rendering the swimsuit invisible in-game. So as far as the code is concerned, they are technically clothed...it’s just invisible so you can see under it without triggering the default underwear...and IT WORKED!!

They’re not perfect, you can definitely see where I didn’t quite line up the UVs right, but I think it’s a pretty darn good start! 
At the moment they’re using the exact same texture, based on Aja; I know Krel’s outfit design in the show is slightly different than his sister’s BUT I wasn’t sure if the technique would work and didn’t want to waste time making two separate nonfunctional textures, so I just used Aja’s as the test. Now that I know it works, though, I’ll go back and make a proper one for Krel later. For now they’ll just have to match haha.
Aja is also sporting @zaneida-and-sims4​’s Angor Rot style legs, cuz I thought it was a bit closer to the show, even if it caused some more issues with the texture lining up. I tried to give them to Krel as well, but for some reason it wouldn’t show up as an option for him. Sorry Krel, you’ll have to stick with regular human legs. ^^; If it makes you feel better, they don’t work on Blinky either (I would be tempted to wonder if maybe they only work on females were it not for the fact that they DID work on NotEnrique...oh well).
I did also experiment with a mod that allowed for extra arms, HOWEVER the arms were basically just an accessory and didn’t actually have any animation on them. While they would cool in screenshots, in-game it just looked really distractingly stiff and awkward, so I ultimately opted for just two arms. 
Varvatos Vex is not currently in the game; I MIGHT add him in later but if I do he’ll be a dog like Aarrrggh. We’ll see though.
So that’s that! I probably won’t play much from the perspective of this house directly, but I look forward to finding them out and about in the world... 👀

One of the things I love most in a RPG (Role-Playing Game) is the possibility of creating my own character with tons of different options and add-ons. I made a research yesterday and found some interesting PC Games I already knew about, adding them to the titles I have or plan to get with the best Character Customization. I’m going to list them here for you guys also attaching a few videos so that you can see directly how they work and what kind of possibilities they offer.
It’s the main reason I enjoy games like Skyrim and Fallout. But there seem to be so few good (single player) games with decent character creation - and not just picking from a few presets. The character creation in Dragon Age: inquisition was amazing (although I struggled to enjoy the game) as well as Saints Row (which I really enjoyed). I’ve been introduced to this type of creation with a game I still keep in my heart and consider one of the best of all times; The Sims 2. Seriously, I’ve created so many 3D characters that if I could win an award I’d have 200 on my shelf by now.
With that said, here you are my personal list of PC games with their awesome customization in no particular order:
I tried this game myself (the free beta that is) a few times in the past and I swear the CC included in it is currently one of my favorite. Without the complete pack I probably didn’t have a lot of additional options available in terms of clothes, makeup and hair, but what truly mesmerized me at the time was the shaping tool, not yet common in games when they released EVE. You can grab and drag different parts of the head and body, modeling unique characters every time.

2. Black Desert Online
This game has been released recently with two different packages and it seems to be quite a popular MMORPG (Massive(ly) Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) in Russia and Korea. I’m not surprised considering the quality this game seems to have and its customization is clearly no less. Just like EVE Online, Black Desert offers a good sculpt instrument to shape faces and bodies as much as you like, plus a beautiful variety of colors and combinations.
UPDATE: The game is also available on Steam!
This patch lets you play Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks with mostly non-touch based controls. The new control bindings are Control Bindings: D-Pad=Run Y+Dpad=Walk B=Wide slash B+Dpad=Long slash Y+B=Spin Attack A=Interact A+Dpad=Roll. 3. Blade&Soul
This is another Asian MMORPG with the classical ‘Anime’ style, you cannot freely reshape the character’s structure, only pick one of the available presets and play around with the sliders to modify the whole body. Still, I honestly like the bright colors, the races/classes and the fact that you can actually recreate other existing characters using additional content (just like this guy did with Cloud from Final Fantasy VII).
4. BLESS Online
Yes, another Asian online title. Hey, it’s not my fault if they look so pretty! Bless is quite recent and not yet released in its final stage, but judging by how the CC works you have as much freedom as in EVE or Black Desert and the same unmistakable Fantasy touch.
5. The Sims 4
Didn’t I mention The Sims 2? Well, looks like the latest title in the series has improved quite a lot in this area. The shaping/sculpting method is here as well, considering that we finally have more possibilities I certainly won’t complain!
Note: In this video I can see the woman has a few mods installed. If you decide to get this game (or even the previous chapters) I definitely suggest you to do the same if you don’t like the default character design.
6. Fallout 4
Another recent (and quite famous) game. Apparently you can only work on the face here, but once again we see the sculpt tool in action. Even if the hair options are a bit limited you can still customize your character and create unique features playing around with your cursor.
7. Dragon Age: Inquisition
Who knows me is well aware of the fact that I am completely OBSESSED with this game, thus I couldn’t really leave it out. The hair options are definitely questionable and just like in Fallout 4 you do not have any body morph nor slider to alter, but as you can see from this video example you are still able to personalize your Inquisitor in a good way, also using real people or other characters as reference. To be honest I like some of the default presets too, if you don’t like spending two hours working on a face (I do that all the time, but I am a basket case so please ignore my madness :P), you can pick those and get a good result nonetheless.
And don’t forget about mods! 😉
8. Skyrim (The Elder Scrolls V)
This one has been around for a very long time and it remains probably the top 1 Fantasy game out there. If you’re not into mods at all and want to keep your game vanilla be sure that the overall quality is not as improved as the current generation, you can see that from the low-res hair and general textures. The reason why I’m including this CC in the list anyway is because even if old, Skyrim looks quite good compared to other games where you only get 3/4 slider options.
9. APB Reloaded
The last game I’d like to mention (and I literally just discovered it) is this not so new title which has a kick-ass Character Creator. Not only it shows some quality graphics there, but the level of customization is unbelievable! You can make hair shorter, beards longer, create beautiful tattoos (and place or rotate them wherever you want!), add patterns to clothes and even get your personal car! 😀

There are of course many other games with a Character Creator, but they all seem pretty similar or not good enough to be mentioned in my list.

Those late-night multiplayer sessions can be really fun sometimes. Surely, everything is better with friends, they say and you’ll agree with that at some point. However, after a long day of work and studying, I like to relax with offline games. Sometimes, it’s satisfying to let yourself indulge in a great single-player story and forget about any problems bothering you. So, if you are like me, then welcome to the club! Below is my list of 20 best offline games for PC and I hope you’ll enjoy them.
1. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
W2k16 pc download. Well, you’ve guessed it! The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt takes first place on the list with its epic setting, characters, gameplay, and those breathtaking visuals! It’s a compelling game that will offer you more than a hundred hours of non-filler gameplay, and there’s always something to explore. The game looks amazing, and the combat system is great. This open-world title is everything you need on your free days! Combine that with the great RPG elements and fun dialogues with NPCs, and you got yourself a pretty good offline game! Go and play it now, it’s a must-play.
2. Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus
Wolfenstein series has been once again revived with Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. The positive reviews flashed all around the globe, and this game quickly became one of the best shooting games of 2017. B.J Blazkowicz is such a badass protagonist and the characters surrounding the game are interesting. You’ll quickly start to care about each and every one of them, making this game a worthy offline title. Bethesda said that they won’t be focusing on multiplayer, so they can bring an immersive single-player experience. Well, you nailed it, Bethesda; great job!
3. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Bethesda is one of my favorite companies when it comes to gaming, at least they were a few years back. A few years back, this masterpiece called The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was released and it took the Earth by storm! This offline open-world title offers hundreds of hours of exploration and you’ll probably never get bored of it! The combat system might be dated, but it’s damn fun to play and explore every corner of the game. After six years since its release, I’m still eager to give Skyrim another go. It’s that great!
4. Fallout 4
Games With Character Customization Pc
Fallout 4 is one of those top offline games that you either like or dislike. It’s a great single-player experience, as you explore a huge world of fictional city Commonwealth. I mean, the story here is scattered here and there, and our protagonist is in search of his abducted son. However, the game often steers away from that and let you have some freedom and exploration. It’s a fantastic reboot of the series, and it’s surely the best game in the franchise. If you are up for that Stalker-ish feeling, then give this a try!
5. Hitman (2016)
Hitman isn’t a strictly offline game, but I included it because it has a great single-player campaign. While the previous entry in the series Hitman: Absolution relied more on linear, claustrophobic, and confined experience, Hitman (2016) went in a different direction. Here, you’ll experience a vast, open-world with lots of stuff to do. The levels are not that numerous, but they are as big as hell! You can complete your missions in various ways and earn certain rewards and points for doing so. Hitman is a challenging stealth experience, but once Agent 47crawls under your skin, there’s no going back!

6. Nioh
Nioh is a less-known offline game released this year, and I feel like this game is very underrated. It’s a child of Dark Souls and Bloodborne series, which can tell you much about this game. It has a single, crushing, and unforgiving difficulty that will leave you begging for mercy. It’s hard, and you’ll need some blazing fast reflexes and huge gaming skills to finish it. There are more than twenty bosses in the game, and every single boss will kick your ass! Don’t expect to finish this game in a few days; you’ll need weeks to finish it and it will be painfully slow as the bosses shame you every little time… you helpless gamer!
7. Nier: Automata
Another underrated game – Nier: Automata. How could the gaming community overlook this game? Are you blind, or what? This game offers thirty hours of a pure, refined, and amazing experience! It’s a hack-and-slash title that mergers several genres with it. The open world in this game is huge, and the post-apocalyptic environment looks depressing and feels like a void. Nier also introduces RPG elements so you can now level yourself up, upgrade weapons, buy stuff, etc. On top of that, there are some 2D sections that feel like a great platformer, and that’ very unique! Nier: Automata is better than most AAA titles and costs double the less of that price, which is one more reason to get it.
8. Dark Souls 3
Dark Souls series got a fantastic reboot with Dark Souls 3. Just if it wasn’t enough for the previous games in the series, and now we got this punishing game. What can I say? Prepare to die a LOT in this game, as it’s created to kill you. I’m not joking, the whole game is against you, and you can’t do anything about that except fight like a lunatic. Even when you die, the enemies around you respawn and you must fight again and again, which is really frustrating. However, if you have the balls to play it, and manage to finish it, then you deserve a medal, Sir!
9. Bioshock Infinite
Bioshock Infinite is the newest installment in the Bioshock series. This cheap game can give you a huge value for your buck, especially when the Holidays come. I mean, for just a couple of bucks, you can get a fantastic FPS game, which campaign isn’t short and definitely isn’t boring! Bioshock Infinite continues its tradition with great shooting mechanics, various powerups, and that fast-paced shooting in a beautiful environment of the game. Get ready to cause mayhem!
10. Alien: Isolation
Alien: Isolation is that PC offline game that will haunt your dreams every time you try to sleep. It’s a horror game in which you try to stay in one piece and escape that damn space station called Sevastopol. Sounds similar? Well, that’s because the game is based on Alien (1979) movie, which was a very disturbing experience at the time. It’s an intense game that makes your palms sweat and your heart beating so fast that you’ll think it’s gonna come out of your chest! Try this horror if you dare, and watch yourself getting swallowed by the Alien, in a single bite!
11. Far Cry Primal
Elephants are cool, but mammoths are so badass! In Far Cry Primal, you can hunt mammoths and even ride them when you get to higher levels! How cool are you from zero to riding a mammoth? This beautiful-looking game is set 10,000 years BC and no, you aren’t going to shoot guns, but bash the hell out of your enemies. The arsenal of weapons might not be that huge, but the combat is great and requires more thinking, as the enemies are sometimes overwhelming and can easily kill you. If you have the luck to tame a sabertooth tiger, you may survive in this harsh world!
12. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
There is something special about that claustrophobic feeling, especially when it comes to horror games that you can play without internet. That sense of dread and despair when you don’t have much space to move is priceless. Don’t think of me as a psycho, but I LOVE the horror genre! RE7: Biohazard is a game that caught my attention as soon as it was released. This bad boy will provide you with a horrific experience that will leave you scared to death! As the game plays from the first-person perspective, it’s much easier to get yourself immersed, but also scared.
13. Outlast 2
Outlast 2 is yet another offline horror experience, where the developers decided to leave your powerless. There aren’t weapons for you to use, and surely no means to defend yourself. So, what are you left with? Well, a camera and a journal should do the trick! The game does a damn fine job of melding the horror and the dread with stealth and great storytelling. In the end, you may feel a little let down by the ending, but I know you’ll enjoy it until the very end.
14. Dead Space 3

Cat et 2015a factory password generator. While the past games in the series focused more on that horror experience, Dead Space 3 is more of an action-horror game. Sure, there are Necromorphs and they are vicious and all, but the action part is more prominent. Needless to say that Dead Space 3 is an amazing game and I’m very sad that Visceral Games is closed by EA in October. This survival horror game is hugely underrated, but it’s awesome and I recommend you to play it. It’s just a couple of bucks for this experience, don’t be a niggard!
15. Portal 2
There’s something awesome when it comes to Source Engine. The games made with this engine looks amazing, yet they run smoothly. How did Valve manage to do that? Well, as I am not a game developer, don’t ask me! But ask me about Portal 2, which is Valve’s magnum opus, and a compelling puzzle game. The whole point of the game is to use a Portal gun in order to create portals and pass through them. However, the game isn’t that simple and requires some brain skill to finish it. Grab your Portal Gun, and let’s go on a venture!
16. Limbo
This 2D game is straight-up terrifying, dark, and misanthropic from the start to finish! In Limbo, you are a little boy that needs to survive this colorless world of the game as he overcomes various obstacles and escape scary monsters. I like the game’s artwork and the atmosphere is simply top-notch here if you like the dark ambient in the games. It’s a must-play for every offline Indie games lover!
17. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat
Speaking of the atmosphere, very few great offline games can replicate the atmosphere as it is in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat. That post-apocalyptic atmosphere of Pripyat looks great, and the game isn’t colorful, which is the whole point. Everything has that grey-ish tint, as this town suffered greatly when the Nuclear Powerplant in that area exploded. It’s based on a real-life event that occurred around 1989, which gives the game a certain weight and meaning.
18. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
With MGSV: The Phantom Pain, Hideo Kojima proved that he still has what it takes to create such immersive PC games without internet. This stealth game is challenging and full of stuff to do, due to its open-world nature. The characters are badass and the game feels somewhat dark, with a very serious tone. Oh, and not to forget that plot twist at the end that’s worth those thirty hours I’ve spent on this game!
19. SOMA
Horror fans will be pleased that I mentioned another horror title here. SOMA is an absolutely spooky and nerve-wracking experience! It creates that atmosphere that’s very unique, and with the story being told in the shape of various documents scattered through the game, it’s even more badass! You are all alone here and you’ll fight for your life, only to find out that you aren’t actually alive! A truly wonderful offline game for Windows.
20. Superhot
Superhot is a cartoonish-looking offline game that revolves around time. To make it simple, the time in the game moves when you move, so if you are standing still, nothing will happen. Vice Versa, if you are moving and shooting, then the enemies will do the same. It’s a lot of fun, but a lot of challenges too. I played it with some of my favorite death metal albums, just to ensure that I’m hardcore enough to beat it!

I tried my best to count some of my favorite offline games, and although I’m maybe going to start a war for not including some of the games, I stand behind my words. Thoughts on ways that the current server might move to a new server:
1. A new story with different characters/plots
Pros:
-Gives them a chance to wrap up the current smp to a satisfying ending. This would be sad, but more satisfying.
-It would give the CCs a chance to try out new character traits and plots that they maybe couldn’t do in the current story
Cons:
-Most server members basically play themselves, or the version of themselves that they’re most comfortable playing, they might feel pressure to change the character they play which would suck because it seems like they are all very satisfied with their characters in the story. It could be weird having one CC who’s basically playing the same character interact with another CC who’s trying something new and different.
-It could be weird to wrap up everyone’s plots within a short period of time, may be awkward.
-Some members haven’t gotten as long as others to develop their stories so if it moved in let’s say August, it would be different for c!Tommyinnit who had been on the server for over a year than it would be for c!Michael mcchill who would be getting like 1.5-2 months.
-It would be very sad to leave the story we’ve known and loved in the past. Even if we would be getting a new incarnation.
2. They work it into the story in some way
Pros:
-We wouldn’t have to leave the characters we’ve grown to love behind.
-The members can continue acting with their characters without worrying about making them different since most CCs are basically playing themselves.
-It will still give the CCs new things to do and a chance for new plots.
-This would be the perfect chance to add one or two new members.
Cons:
-There has been a lot of development in characters and their relationships, it has already been compared to a soap opera in the past, which is in no way a bad thing, it’s still very well done and entertaining, but a chance to try new plots and character relationships might be backed into a corner for some CCs.
-If the server does end, which it one day will, at least in the incarnation we’re used to (it could be continued with different members or with a new twist) we’d rather it ends in a satisfying way instead of dragging on until it fizzles out because some CCs may eventually want to move on to different things. And that’s okay, it’ll be over a year since a lot of members first joined when the server moves, and one day they might want to shift their focus. I’m not saying it’ll happen when the server moves but it might have trouble with staying power for some members after another year.
3. A new story with the same characters who’ve experienced memory loss
Pros:
-Gives them a chance to wrap up the current smp to a satisfying ending.
-The members can continue acting with their characters without worrying about making them different since most CCs are basically playing themselves.
-Could tie into the memory loss issues in the story, suggests that this could have happened.
-It would give the CCs a chance to try out new character traits and plots that they maybe couldn’t do in the current story (for example: if two characters are supposed to be enemies in the lore with a lot of bad history, they could do a plot together and just forget about the history without having to “fix” it)
-There could be a lot of angst with these characters doing call backs to past lore.
-After a while, they could give CC’s their memories back, so past plots could be continued in some form but with a new twist.
Cons:
-It could be hard to untangle how much of a character’s traits exist because of their experiences and how much are inherent. Lots of character development could be reversed which wouldn’t be as fun.
-CCs wouldn’t be able to continue their plots for a while unless they wanted to like come up with a way to mirror them in the next server.
On NPCs, Items, and Buildings:
I’ve heard before that there was apparently a plan to move buildings to the new server but I’m not totally sure. They could also just get an entirely new world and plop everyone down in it, there are pros and cons to this.
Pros:
-Everyone could start over which could give them more to do on streams. New bases, different people could group up, and new builds.
-The physical server could go out in a blaze of glory. Now let me explain, I want a copy of the server to be stored 100%, but I know a lot of people have been eyeing those nukes as a plot point. We have also had a history of exploding areas to the great amusement of audiences and CCs, even if there is emotional attachment to the area as well. To put it shortly, a lot of people want to see big boom, and I agree. I want a copy saved so people can go back and explore it in the future, but I also think a really good story reason for a server reset to happen is if everything gets destroyed for some reason.
Cons:
-Lots would be lost, they could still log into the older server and look around if they wanted to, but builds with a lot of time put into them and history would be left behind in the story. This would be an especially sad day for the Foolish community. Not to mention things like Sam’s prison or Eret’s museum.
-Items with a lot of sentimental value would be lost. I think a middle ground to this could be that ender chests would “follow the characters” to the new server. Anything they want to keep, they put it in their enderchest, and a replica of the item, ostensibly the real item, would be given to them in the new world. It’s like a fire scenerio, you can only grab 3 things, what would they be? Will they choose functionality and store some netherite gear to get ahead or sentimentality and bring items with history? They’ll have like 30 slots or so to bring their most important items.
-It could be tough if CCs are busy during the weeks after the new server, they might be left behind materials wise while most others will rush to build up their wealth and materials.
-The Pet Problem: Pets are a big deal on the server, are they going to leave them behind? What about any important to lore? If they re-spawn animals for CCs to keep, how would they decide which pets should be “moved” to the new server?
-The npc!Michael problem: npc!Michael is important to lore and is treated like a sentient character, they’d have to re-spawn a baby piglin if npc!Michael were to join the members in the server switch.
