i was catching up on your blog, and honestly your, or well, your PCs' opinion abt Sydney is so fascinating to me. when i first played the game for real (after trying to previous times and ending up in the forest being raped by wolves and kidnapped by Eden without knowing wtf was going on, and then my second try ending up in a rape cycle that ended in the asylum) i started pursuing Sydney for the first time, thinking that she'd be like every other goody-two-shoes uninteresting character that is usually a part of dating games, the stereotype that fails to interest me no matter what. then i found out i could corrupt her, and i decided to make her "fall from grace" together with my PC, and the more i interacted w her the more and more i fell in love w her character, to the point that my PC became as obsessed w her as she is with him

Sydney might honestly be my favorite LI, so to find someone who doesn't like them v much is quite the interesting experience lol. i think the part that most called my attention is the privilege part of their character that you brought up, and i think that stuck w me mostly bc i never truly saw Sydney's "privilege" like that. Sydney never gave me the impression that they were completely oblivious to everything and anything wrong that happens in the world just bc it doesn't affect them - quite the opposite, actually

Sydney isnt immune to the world they live in, not a single character in this game is (which is why i love it sm tbh). they might be extremely sheltered and protected as much as Sirris and the temple are able to make them, but when you pray w them in the temple and someone comes by to harass you she knows exactly what is happening and how to stop it. she's probably been harassed by monks and nuns as well, and unable to fight back without losing her grace. that's without even going into the Leighton punishment event, and how they react to it, which i think gives a v good view into how they cope w the world they live in depending on whether they are pure or corrupted and how that affects their interactions w PC...

ok im just rambling now, my point is, Sydney is a very interesting and complex character to me and seeing your interpretation of them was really interesting/insightful, and gave me some answers to things in your PCs' story that i used to question but always forgot to send an ask abt (such as their distaste for Sydney). thanks for reading my ramble, i love the things you're doing w your PCs and how you interpret their world <3

Just in case you still don't understand the nature of the situation, the "privileged" part can be translated into "ENVY"

Sydney has had good things growing up. PC has nothing of those, which I have mentioned. "Why can they be optimistic? Why can they believe in the good in people? Why their parent doesn't demand they rent every week? Why do they have parents but I and Robin don't? Why can't I and Robin have those things that they have?..."

It's bitter, but I firmly believe, just like a redeemed bully can never achieve true peace, a sheltered child growing up with a silver spoon inside their mouth can never understand poverty and desperation either. Something bad happens to them, but they have family and financial support to overcome it, that's why they can stay pure and stay good. Robin stays ignorant too, they essentially avoid the outside world completely and if PC doesn't step up to protect them, they're ruined. That's what happens with pureness and goodness if they bloom in mud, unprotected. That's what happens on a daily basis with the children of the orphanage.

That's why my PCs are Robin's protectors. I make them taste the bitterness when realizing some things even try as they might, they can never achieve, while Sydney has those things handed to them, lovingly and matter-of-factly, as easily as falling to sleep in a soft fluffy bed. To me, that's what makes them even more protective of their waifu/malewife and more determined to shelter Robin as much as possible. They strive to give Robin what Sydney's having, their childhood together sucks so yeah let's try hard for a better future :D

As for Sydney... Well, unless future updates give them some trauma, throw them into some real fuck up situation like what PC faced daily, or reveal that they had some beef with Harper in the past and had lifelong psychological trauma, I don't think I can give them more credit.

Another popular one, by the same author who wrote Peeta's games. I don't even need to tell you how good this. I will admit though I had some mixed feelings about the ending, because the author makes them go through another war. I'm not really sure if it's war tbh, but someone is trying to overthrow the government typa shit..

I have a problem with canon divergence so I didn't read the final chapter. idk why canon divergence just feels so wrong to me. But if you do like canon divergence this one could be really good. Anyway it's only the last chapter that is like that, the rest are all regular growing back material.

There's something about the writing that drew me to it. Legitimately I'm unsure how Skitter is the only villain who loses their fucking mind in the field hospital. This is unbearably claustrophobic and torturous to just put someone through because they're on the away team instead of the home team

So, she's wrong, obviously. But her own tendencies towards distrusting others, especially authority, is only part of the equation. The other part of the equation is that the Protectorate (Armsmaster) wasn't being good to her even before she started "infiltrating" the Undersiders, and we've seen the system allow for some remarkable acts of cruelty along the way; Canary was gagged and put in confoam and chains in a public space, in a court of fucking law, because she could theoretically have super strength.

The system isn't half as bad as Taylor is afraid of, but she's also lived a whole span of her life suffering because of the system's failures

I think this is legitimately, non-power triggering for Taylor, which makes everything that's about to happen that much worse.

S'fucked up. Not a whole lot to say beyond that.

Tattletale wasn't wrong to observe that Taylor isolates herself reflexively, but she reaches out to others pretty regularly, and this isn't even the worst consequence she's had for that. This is a moment of immense vulnerability that she's bearing on purpose to this girl and there's an immense horror at the thought of being ignored.

This is pretty dark, actually. If we keep this limited entirely to the bank interaction, Panacea has Skitter under her mercy the same way Skitter had Panacea at knifepoint barely a month ago, but Panacea is doing very little to hide the fact that she's taunting now that she's the one in control.

I'm reminded a bit of those conversations about nurses who were abusing or harassing patients because this was someone vulnerable that they had control over, with little to no recourse even when it's done. Having a career, having a power, where someone's life and comfort and safety is in your hands, and squeezing your grip just enough to make it uncomfortable

That most heroic of principles, "eye for an eye." There has never been an instance where a self-described good person has used reciprocity as a justification to harm or harass someone they've decided is a bad person in a way that, hey, actually isn't so justified.

Like yeah, Taylor did it, but she did it because she's fucking terrified, and she's fucking terrified because Amy deliberately stoked her fears, gloating about how fucked she was even though she doesn't actually know what's coming, because Amy is a good person and Taylor is a bad person

ok i was trying to nap because i'm sick and i couldn't sleep and instead i was thinking about house medical doctor. and like. ok. chase is my special favorite, right? i want to punch him in his face, right?

I was thinking, though. It's easy to… smooth over and buff out characters to make them more appealing. To focus on traits and interpretations that you like. And to be clear I do think Chase has a lot of good qualities, both in terms of being a likeable character (he's clever! He doesn't take himself that seriously and isn't ego driven, unlike many others in the cast!) and being a fun character to watch (he's always pulling weird faces or being sarcastic!).

But he also has some real fucking character flaws, so let's talk about them. Because I want to. Because I don't like smoothing people out to fit a Narrative. I want to talk about his apathetic moral vacancy.

Like. Chase is apathetic. He truly and honestly doesn't give a shit about other people a lot of the time. He's not aggressive about it, he's not cruel — he tends to be fairly polite, although he's not great at hiding it ("the nurse's phone can take pictures!" "………cool"), he doesn't often talk shit. When he dislikes a patient, he at least tries to hide it (contrast with Foreman, who genuinely sucks at this). But that doesn't mean he cares. He is absolutely fine with lying to patients (Post Mortem), or with billing people for tests and not telling them (Safe). He doesn't care if that's shady. He's super ethically flexible, is the only one of the fellows to be openly pro euthanasia, has zero moral issue with treating Dibala. This clearly isn't because Chase believes so strongly that being a doctor should make you neutral to petty political beliefs, he just… doesn't care much. It doesn't bother him. I don't think he'd go out of his way to be harmful or cruel to someone, but he also isn't going out of his way to help them either.

While we do see him advocating for his patients and getting involved now and then (mostly with children), he never really has any moments where he takes a stand or fights for someone. Cameron, by contrast, does this constantly (The Itch, Acceptance, Fidelity…). Foreman also has several episodes (Fools For Love, Whac-A-Mole, a lot of his S3 development tbh) where he finds and bonds with and over-invests in a patient. The closest Chase ever comes to "getting way too involved in someone's life because he cares" is Moira in Chase, and she's preeeetty explicitly called out as him rebounding and acting out; he's doing the Wilson-Amber reinvent yourself after trauma thing, and it wears off pretty quickly. In Cameron and Foreman's cases too, it's more about their personal issues than the patient in question… but Chase's situation was really about him.

Speaking of being morally vacant! When Cameron might be infected with HIV (Hunting), he expresses some concern and House immediately mocks him for being fake. I don't actually know that it was (he certainly keeps up the thread of suggesting she should take some time off, he's not just being performative), but it's telling that the first reaction to Chase showing concern for anyone is "lol, who are you kidding?" Cameron accuses him later that of not being a good guy. She wants to get laid and live life on the edge, and the person that jumps to her mind when she wonders "who would be down for doing me on meth" is Chase. Nor is she wrong. Chase is an opportunist. Tritter calls him one, and Tritter is correct. He rats to Vogler to save his job, and is barely sorry for it; I'm not sure he ever apologizes. Everyone expects he'll immediately run to Tritter and a huge source of tension in Finding Judas is that Chase can't win: Foreman and Cameron already assume he has, that he's too spoiled and weak to not. Later in S3, when Cameron propositions him, he again goes "free sex?" and signs up, despite calling her out on what a demeaning offer she's making. He tends to pick the easier options. He stays a diagnostics fellow for years longer than anyone else, because it's a safe space. It's easy. He'd rather be a follower than take any risks. (I think there is no room for a reality where he refused his dad's money out of spite or pride. Why would he refuse a trust fund? It's easy. It's right there.)

We actually do see him lash out and stand up for himself here and there. He pushes back against Cameron a few times, actually (Act your Age, Saviors, Teamwork), and he's also pushed back against Foreman and House. But it's only for himself. I can't think of a time he went far out of his way to defend one of his coworkers, or his boss, or a patient. He did get mad enough to, uh, kill, when Dibala threatened Cameron. Which: fair enough? But he doesn't care much for things outside of his immediate influence. He has no problem shrugging off Cuddy in Living the Dream, or an armed gunman in Last Resort. He has no moral stances or political beliefs that we know of (besides, uh, fat people suck and the US immigration system is annoying). He very much does care about people, he's pretty clear that at least some of his apathy is a defense thing after a deeply fucked up childhood, but it's always despite himself. He prefers to do his job and go home. There's an old not-joke about how all surgeons have god complexes. Chase being a surgeon is kind of a retcon, and in a lot of ways he doesn't fit the stereotype — he's not particularly arrogant or superior, he's not even ambitious. He does get touchy about being called wrong, or accused of making mistakes, but I don't think he's any worse than the others on that front (or more prone to making mistakes). But that indifference? His sort of general aloofness? He cares about himself, and his little circle, and watches his own back, and that's it. He doesn't dislike other people, but he doesn't care much either way. Foreman accuses him of being fake. Everyone accuses him of being morally vacant, an opportunist who will do anything if it improves his own situation. And… yeah. Kinda.

you've had your eyes on ace ever since you stepped onto the deck of the moby dick. it felt kind of wrong, considering whitebeard saw you all as his children, but there was no actual blood relation so it's fine... right?

your biggest fear is him viewing you as a sister. you would rather him hate your guts and fight the urge to kill you every time he sees you than have him see you as a sister. all you wanted was one chance with him, no intimacy required.

your fear heightens as you approach the new island. he always brings some random drunk broad onto the ship and fucks her senseless. she always leaves before he wakes up, and he can't even attempt to find her. he didn't even learn her name. he copes by finding another drunk broad, acting as if monogamy would kill him.

if he's always this horny and desperate, then it's obvious that there was no hope for you. you were the only girl on the ship, why wouldn't he take advantage of that?

you rest your arms across the railing of the ship, feeling sick to your stomach as you see an island in the distance. you groan as your forehead falls onto the railing as well, hiding your face from everyone and everything surrounding you.

a rough, calloused, and incredibly warm hand touches your shoulder, completely exposed from the [f/c] tank top you wore. you jerk your head up at the unexpected feeling as a gasp of shock leaves your lips. you hear a familiar laugh attached to the hand.

"didn't mean to scare ya there, [y/n], my bad." it was ace. you turn and see his bright smile, face slightly flushed from the guilt of startling you.

you smile and shake your head. "it's okay, you didn't mean it." you turn to face him as his hand leaves your shoulder. "so..." you say awkwardly, leaning back against the ship's railing. "you need anything from me?"

what kind of stupid fucking question is that?

"yeah, i do actually," ace says optimistically. "come explore the island with me today. i heard there's some cool shops to check out, like jewelers and stuff. you're into that, right?" he points to the necklace you were wearing. you look down, forgetting you even had it on. you look back up at him, giggling a bit.

"yeah, yeah that'd be fun," you say as calmly as possible. there's no way he wants to take you to a jewelry store... maybe you're overthinking this but that's a bit much for the first real time you two are alone, no?

the ship suddenly stops, reaching the dock that leads to the island's entrance. ace still stands in front of you, but his eyes are now on what he can see of the island instead of you. he begins to grin as he gets excited.

"ah yeah, let's go!" he says excitedly, grabbing your hand and dragging you along.

he held your hand until the end of the dock. you'll count that as a win.

hours pass, and after a day of meeting new people and seeing new places, it was time to unwind. it was getting dark, and you weren't familiar with what went on on this island, so you stayed close to ace. he didn't seem to mind, though.

you watch as he navigates the area, looking for a bar of some sort. his eyes stop on a bar with a large crowd of people in it, drunkenly dancing to the live music that played from the small stage inside.

"i forced you to be my friend all day, so the least i can do is get you a drink," he tells you, turning his heels to walk into the bar.

as long as it's not sister.

the crowd of people was bigger than you anticipated, making you slightly anxious. there were a lot of women there, and all of them were wearing just enough clothes to not get arrested for nudity. all of them looked at be at least 10 years older than him, but neither the women nor ace seemed to care. you were right around his age. it was just unfortunate at this point.

you studied the room deeply, the insecurity building up. you got so lost in your own anxiety that you didn't even notice ace walk away to buy you a drink and bring it to you. the glass in front of your face snapped you out of your trance; you needed this shot badly.

"bottoms up, buttercup," he tells you. he gives you a wink before downing it in one swig. you do the same. "alright [y/n]," ace says, staring into the crowd. "let's go find people for us to bring back to the ship tonight."

he walks away.

you stand and watch him.

you stand and watch him and become enraged with yourself for being so pathetic. you go to the bar top and leave your empty glass there, tipping the bartender a couple of berri (and a hair tie) that you found in your pocket.

you don't take your eyes off of him in that crowd. you march into it before he gets swallowed by the sea of people. you know that once he's in that crowd, he'll find a pretty pair of cougar tits and bring them onto the moby dick.

you manage to grab a hold of his hand just before you lost him entirely. you pull him out of the crowd, not caring if he accidentally hits someone. he wasn't even fully in the crowd yet and were already able to sense the eyes of women on him.

you had to rush to beat the line that you knew was already forming.

"woah, [y/n]," he says, stumbling towards you. "what's going on? you okay? do you w-"

you kissed him. you shut him up. your hand migrated from his palm to his face, cupping it softly as you leaned into it. you felt his fingertips on your leg, right at the bottom of your overly short shorts.

you released the kiss, looking at him while the realization of what you had done hit you. you felt panic rise within you, your breathing beginning to stagger. you backed away from him, your eyes glossy. you wanted to run.

so you did.

you sat on the edge of the dock by the moby dick. your whole crew, with the exception of you and ace, were done for the night. you had no idea what time it was. you didn't care. nothing felt real, but it also felt too real.

hugging your knees, you watched the ocean's horizon as tears stained your face. the moon gave the ocean such a melancholic glow, the stars peppering it with their subtle shine.

"[y/n]!" a voice behind you yells. you don't even look. you recognize ace's voice immediately. you hug your legs tighter into you, as if this position would somehow make you smaller and harder to see. beside you appears two heavy boots. wearing those boots is the last person you want to see right now. he taunts that thought by bending down beside you.

"y'know i actually started chasing after you right away," ace says, looking into the horizon like you do. "there was just this one crazy lady who, i swear, she had to be at least 50, she just wouldn't get her paws off of me, i could've sworn she had a husband based on-"

"why should i fucking care about this?" you whisper to him. although it was a whisper, it was said in a sharp enough tone to slice through wood. ace looked surprised, he's never heard such a tone from you. he lets out a nervous laugh in response.

"oh my god," he says, laying down on the dock with his legs dangling off the edge. he smacks his forehead with his palm. "oh my god, you're so right." his hand moves down his face and over his mouth. "ughhhhhhh." his hands rests on his chest now. you look to see him gently scratching below his adam's apple. he was nervous.

you felt guilty. ace never feels nervous. he's always so confident and prideful. you fucked up, to put it lightly.

"i'm..." you start, looking at him. "i'm sorry for, y'know, kissing you. especially out of nowhere in front of all those women. i just... ace, i've always had a thing for you and my biggest fear was that you saw me as a sister. i still don't know if you do, so that kiss could've possibly felt like kissing your sister. fuck, that's disgusting." you look away, weeping softly. "i'm sorry ace. i'm sorry for the kiss and for this over-honesty."

"what?" ace says, sitting up. "why are you apologizing?" he has an amused smile on his face. "i thought it was great! i mean, a kiss from a pretty girl who i literally travel the world with?"

"yeah, but there were still so many women in there that i'm sure you'd rather-"

"are you kidding?! first of all, based on the one interaction i had with someone at that bar, i probably would've come back with nothing and no one. and second... just, no. no, i wouldn't prefer a one-night stand with some thirty-something year old. i actually..." he began to blush. he looked down and let out a small laugh. "i actually wanted to get more, y'know, intimate with the kiss, but i didn't want to push any boundaries."

you sat there, a blushing mess. you idiot, why do you automatically assume the worst?! you even felt his hand on your hip as you kissed him!

"oh... yeah..." you say with a nervous smile. "i did feel your hand. it was nice." your blush faded as you began to think again. "so, if you'd rather me than some one-night stand, what took you so long? and, like, what do i have that they don't?"

"honestly, i had the same fear as you- being seen as a brother." he made a disgusted face at the thought of that. it made you giggle. "and the difference is that you actually know me. i know we were never that close until today, but you have so much offer and i can't believe i always threw that away."

"so," you say with a sly grin. "what exactly is it that i have to offer?" you didn't even have to know. you just wanted to.

"all i ever wanted was conversation and time."

"... that's it?"

"well yeah!" he says, a little too excited. "i mean, i can't even tell you those ladies' names, and i managed to spend an entire day with you without getting bored once. i don't care about a killer body or a doll face, those are just plus sides that you happen to have."

you smile at the fact that he thinks your face and your body are pretty.

a moment of awkward yet positive silence passes.

"so..." you ask shyly. ace raises his eyebrows at you. "you wanna kiss again?"

ace smirks, standing up quicker than you've ever seen him. he reaches his hand out for you to grab, and he pulls you up to stand face to face with him. he bites his lip as he smiles. both of his warm hands give your ass a hard smack.

"i have a better idea," he says with lust in his eyes. he throws you over his shoulder and hops onto the moby dick with ease. you've both been anticipating this night forever, and it was finally here.

TBs annoy me so bad bc like. If you appreciated Rhaenyra's very significant flaws (entitlement & irresponsibility) and the flaws on her team (made up significantly of children & people who refuse to admit Rhaenyra kinda screwed them over, Daemon just in and of himself, no one has any real plan whatsoever etc) then they could have a compelling fandom. Like I still wouldn't be Team Black but I would at least be like 'now here's a set of equally destructive opposing forces fighting for an inherently corrupt position, and here is the fandom for those fucked up losers' and I'd like it.

the main base of tb’s crazy fans it’s that they’re fed by the show’s creators and narrative, comparing rhae rhae to saints and great rulers when she’s nothing of the sort, being constantly told how she’s so good and wise but never actually showing it (kind of how daenerys was portrayed in her ruling of slaver’s bay, brushing over the flaws that will be relevant to the plot later).

one thing i need as a disclaimer in every episode: no one in this story is a good person, no one is perfect, no one has the inherent right to rule or send thousands to their death. you can like a character and be on their side (i know i am), but be fr.

tbh i don’t need to invent anything to defend aegon, i just watch the shows and read the books. if you need to bash another character to prop up your fave, ask yourself some questions.

and this is why i like the greens: they fight tooth and nail for what they want, because it’s all they can do. they fight like prey, they can’t afford to lose and suffer like they’ve been doing all their lives. they’re what happens when survival, ambition and revenge crash together and i love it.

2. Lip Sinking by The Hoosiers

We all know Sash does not play about The Hoosiers which is why I have 26 damn The Hoosiers songs on there I should get awarded tbh .

Now Lip Sinking is really good because it's another one of those scammer / masking guy anthems i keep talking about. These lyrics in Verse 5 in particular is really easy to match to Kabru's character moment™ though, so let's break it down.

"I float above my body" -> Common depersonalization experience. For trauma reasons, Kabru probably feels like this a lot sometimes but specifically in this scene...

anyway, back to the show (psychoanalyzing Kabru) . I think this disconnect with his words VS his thoughts and his heart is so real. Like. seeing urself out of ur body is again a depersonalization thing, and idk if hes feeling depersonalization in this moment specifically but he was really out of it and in a sort of , scrambled and intensely anxious state. His usually calm and cool persona slash facade is Crumbling and man he hates that .

"Must be out of my mind / Cos I watch myself / Getting it wrong everytime" -> He's like. man what the hell am I saying

He thinks he does, he has been so good at controlling them and like being fake about what he's truly feeling in his heart, adjusting his personality for others' sake. So they trust him, believe in him, listen to him. But for Laios, how does he even say anything? Before this, the words just spilling out, he didn't even know how he felt about Laios. It sounds ridiculous even to himself and that's why he clamps his mouth afterwards but indeed it Is what he was truly feeling all along... (and then Laios thinks he's lying and hes like "NO BITCH!!!? what?!!!?! im being vulnerable and honest rn?!?" )

"Cuz I'm just lip-syncing" -> for so long that's what he's been doing. lip syncing, saying things he doesn't really mean to influence others' perception of him... but this time his mouth moved faster than his mind racing with thoughts. that he's able to convey what he truly wanted all along and finally admit to himself and his own consciousness. like. aaaahgh. man hes so special to meeee....

bonus: the outro's lyrics is rlly good aha. he can finally say what he actually feels... he can be #real.

3. Allies or Enemies by The Crane Wives

This one is . a lot of vibes I think.

"Are we allies or enemies? / This will be the death of me / This will be the death of me" -> He legit says this to Laios . like hes still wondering if they're allies or enemies . Technically he doesn't want them to be enemies. he's cautious but he knows Laios isn't really a bad guy but like, his mind just keeps fixating on Laios and the steps he takes to get the dungeon under control so. hes desperately trying to figure it out because goodness this guy is so. waugh

"All is fair in love and war, but I can't fight with you anymore / This will be the death of me" -> his mental conflict is sooo tasty to me. like . all is fair in love and war !!! any method is justifiable !!! means justifies the ends but also he understands that in the end he can't fully wrap his head around Laios' love of monsters but he knows that Laios will be the one to conquer the dungeon because he also loves his family. He can't fight with him anymore and he can't "kill" him anymore because somehow this man has wormed his way in. well, he never wanted him dead in the first place but I find that he often thinks about killing him to save humanity from his... well. freakishness (complimentary) (concerning sometimes) ;;; but in the end Kabru lets him go and is willing to trust and support Laios till the end ... also once again the repetitiveness of "this will be the death of me" because he's stressed as helll!!!!

"What happens now, do we have another go?" -> I think this is post-Marcille being talked down out of being dungeon lord . Kabru's probably like ok so now what. well. Laios goes its my turn with the dungeon lording 😭😭 (and shit goes down) (but its okay he got it covered)

"Do we bow out and take our seperate roads?" -> Now this is probably when they're (the whole gang) is like "WHERE'S LAIOS DID HE DIE?" no he lives guys its fine. and namari toshiro and kabru run at him in relief. wauh. and also ofc the whole people coming together to eat faligon meat and save Falin ... yippeee... so yeah they don't go seperate roads because Kabru is like yeah imma be Laios' pr manager . #royaladvisor . sticking with him fr fr

I've mostly been talking abt how this entire song is Kabru's conflicted thoughts @ Laios but this can also be Kabru lending a helping hand to Mithrun at the end of everything. Because he's the one to like help Mithrun realize that there is a purpose to living and like . new desires and ppl who care abt him... but also yeah Kabru "i want to be let in, not out" because he wants to help out Laios with running the new kingdom instead of being in the background again and being ignored ahhaa he wants to be friends for real (and maybe even . lovers. lets go gay people)

Criston is right next to Alicent. Tbh I think they've been together a a long time romantically and it was consummated at some point. It's all hidden and veiled references on season 1 that probably become clear season 2. Alicent had a crush on criston and you see the look on her face when he tells her about Rhaenyra it's like extra betrayal. I think Alicent is living out her romantic fantasies with criston. Through a historical lens Alicent and Viserys marriage was the norm and often these women took comfort elsewhere. We know it's wrong but that's what happened then. Even age appropriate marriages like between Catherine the great and Peter were unsuccessful. She had affairs and illegitimate kids. So Alicent having an affair with criston is no big deal. I'm wondering though if I'm wrong and they finally consummate it when b and c happens and this is what causes Alicent's guilt. It's not sex based but just the fact she and criston were sneaking off. He was supposed to be on duty and he isnt. It just seems there is a history of them sneaking off together already.

On Whether Alicent and Criston Have Started Sleeping Together Before/During Driftmark:

I also read about the theory that Alicent and Criston had started sleeping together as early as Driftmark, which explains their absence during the fight scene between the children. What's worse, the thought had crossed my mind too the second time I rewatched the show. The whole exchange between Viserys, Alicent, Lord Commander Westerling, and Criston as Viserys goes to bed seems too purposeful to be ignored.

HOWEVER, it still seems implausible to me that they chose this night to sleep together in a different place where they were visitors and guests, staying over to provide consolation for Laena's funeral. What I am saying is that even if they might have already started sleeping together by the time Driftmark happens, it is unlikely that they did so on the night of Aemond's maiming. Even Rhaenyra went away, outside of the palace to seek Daemon so that she could evade the eyes and ears of potential onlookers. If Alicent and Criston had been secretive about their relationship which had become sexual by the time they were visiting Driftmark, I very much doubt that they would risk so much to spend one night together in a foreign place. And especially if they had become lovers at that point (which I hope is not true because it would be too early) it's not as if they could not wait any moment longer and they had to sleep together ASAP.

On the contrary, this is the exact tension we see at Driftmark from Rhaenyra who is constantly looking around for Daemon, watching him from afar, trying to get near him. So, yes, there is more sexual tension and yearning in the air between Rhaenyra and Daemon who have not been together in such a long time and can't bear to be apart for a second longer. And this is why they seek each other out at the beach, forgetting all about conventions, being guests of the Velaryons, and honoring Laena's memory. This kind of yearning I can understand, and it is given such build-up and progression in the episode that it makes sense why they would eventually sleep together.

Now, why would Criston and Alicent do so? In a foreign place? Not knowing who might be watching and listening from whichever corner? Endangering their trysts? Unless Alicent and Criston sneaked away to some remote location to just be by themselves it makes no sense why they would sleep together amidst the Velaryon household. And still, it makes no sense why they would sneak out anyway, since the danger of being seen is real. So, I do not think that on the night of Aemond's maiming Alicent and Criston are sleeping together.

Now, I don't know how the writers will approach the topic of their relationship and if they will reveal by what moment it started becoming physical, but again I find it improbable that Alicent and Criston had a sexual relationship while she was married to Viserys because it was just too risky for her and for him. Unlike Rhaenyra, Alicent and Criston would not evade Viserys' wrath and judgment by Westerosi standards if caught or if there was ever a slight suspicion that their relationship was anything more than that of a Queen of the Realm and her sworn protector.

molly, when you write kate and edwina`s relationship in your fics that is always so sweet and caring it like more based in the books right??? becasue they did such a mess in the show with kate lying to edwina and with edwina not paying attention to kate. In fact, do you belive that edwina should have listened to kate when she command her to not let anthony court her??? that feel bad honestly, kate was like being bossy with edwina.

Okay, I’m going to run through this one more time really quickly because I have like 12 hours of videos on season 2 that you can watch that details all of my opinions on these things but the dynamics at play here are a lot more complicated than we’d like.

It’s below the cut. This post is not tagged for a reason.

First off, I had my characterisation of Mary and Edwina set long before the show came out. Basically: I’m the one writing it so I’m gonna do whatever I want tbh. There are plenty of other people who write the dynamics differently.

Before we discuss Kate lying to Edwina let��s discuss the events of the show up to the point where it would have been best if she had told Edwina.

Kate Sharna meets a handsome man in the woods. He was cute, and charming, and sure they flirted a little and Kate liked Anthony a little. We see this because-

She sees Anthony again at Lady Danbury’s ball and she confirms that she thinks he’s handsome (Mary’s look to Kate in this moment is so sweet, don’t even get me started). She then seeks out Anthony’s company again after she sees him dancing (poorly) and sees him talking about how he’s not interested in getting to know the woman he’s marrying. Worse, he talks about them as though they’re all the same, interchangeable and only really good for one thing: Having children so you can fulfil an obligation and move on with your life. Anthony immediately tries to flirt with her again and Kate feels honestly stupid. She came to London thinking she was prepared for the task ahead and at the first hurdle she’s found out that she wasn’t. She feels awkward and uncomfortable and upset and she needs to regroup.

Anthony has now set his sights on Edwina. There’s no interaction here.

Anthony makes an idiot out of her by essentially organising someone to spend time with her. It’s insulting and disrespectful. Edwina then has her moment of teenage rebellion

They go to Aubrey Hall and this is where the shift starts to happen. They play Pall Mall and they have a moment of shared sameness where Kate starts to realise that maybe the version of him she saw at first is the real Anthony. They then have that moment with the bee but this is only the beginning of Kate recognising what she;s actually feeling for Anthony. She’s still not very sure.

They have their moment in the library they go hunting, they actually spend time together, learn about each other and they dance together and this is when Kate begins to be sure that she;s having actual feelings for Anthony. Here. Following the fact that Edwina already wants him to propose. So she’s already in a difficult position. This was the perfect time to tell Edwina and get I think some blowback but it would have been minimal.

Anthony has already proposed out of his own fear.

The window was minimal because of the fact that Anthony acted out of his own fear for what he felt. He was so sure that if he just proposed to Edwina all of this would stop. It was more than expected of him at this stage. To the outside world, Mary is right, he has shown her every attention in the world. He took her and her family to his home privately, if he had withdrawn even then there would have been questions about what was wrong with her. Bare in mind, that Kate has no confirmation from Anthony that he has feelings past lust for her so even if she told Edwina she was in love with Anthony: What could come of it? She feels it would be selfish to ruin it for Edwina, to ruin it for Anthony because if what she feels.

This is further complicated by the fact that Kate is used to sacrificing what she wants for what Edwina needs. This started because it was made clear to Kate when Edwina was about 10 that she needed to marry nobility for them to have any hope. Kate couldn’t marry because she herself would have then been expected to look after her husband’s family and there was no guarantee that they would allow her to have the same amount of contact with Mary and Edwina so I think this just seemed best at this point. Because Kate, in a way, feels that she owes Mary the life she gave up in Marrying her father. In choosing Kate and her father Mary gave up her life in England and Kate wants to give it back. This is misguided because Mary doesn’t actually want it back but alas, Kate hasn’t asked. So Kate’s entire life focuses on Edwina’s education now. Mary is obviously deeply depressed and I think when they were in India was probably less distant with the girls than we see. Being in England has likely brought up a lot of shit with her husband and family and the ton in general so I think we’re seeing Mary struggling more than she has for a while. Somewhere along the line Kate has likely stopped only doing what Edwina needs and has started giving Edwina what she wants. Frankly, we need to stop viewing their relationship as sisters and start seeing it as an unequally mother daughter relationship. Edwina is also, very used to getting what she wants, and she’s 18. So I think when she learns that there’s more going on with Kate and Anthony and even with Mary to a certain degree: She’s surprised because she is used to being at the centre of their family unit. So that shatters as well. Do I think this was managed perfectly in the show? No, I have my own ideas about how to fix that but Netflix isn’t paying me so I’m not gonna hand them out.

So we’re now in a situation where really: Everyone feels betrayed

Edwina feels betrayed by Kate.

Kate feels betrayed by Anthony but more importantly she feels betrayed by herself. Because she should have put aside her own needs she shouldn’t have been there in the way.

And Mary feels betrayed by herself as well. And here’s where most people get this wrong (in my opinion) Mary does not feel betrayed by Kate. Mary feels guilty. Because the second she saw Anthony kneel in front of Kate she realises exactly how much she has let slide. Exactly how much Kate took on herself. Because I think until that point she genuinely thought she still had the kind of relationship with Kate where Kate would have told her this. Kate was telling her the truth. Kate is her daughter, who she has never known hide sections of herself away. Why would she now? Thus isn’t even to mention the fact that Anthony gets a lot of praise for defending Kate to the Sheffields but Mary did it first. Mary stood up to her parents and said: That is my child, take it or leave it.

So no. I don’t think Kate was bossy with Edwina. She was very hurt at what she’d done and she was trying to make Edwina see that Anthony wasn’t going to love her. Which she was right about. Edwina probably should have listened. Would have saved everyone a lot of time but I also think she was a young girl who got swept up in the romance of being in a Different place and being so sought after. I’m not saying she’s vain, I’m not saying she’s frivolous, there are plenty of signs that she too was under a lot of pressure. But she got swept up in the moment. It’s easy to do.

Natasha sits on a bench with one of her best friends as she watches her two children run around the playground. She smiles as they help each other scale the ladder and go down the slide happily.

“This is nice,” Maria breaks the silence.

“Yeah? I wasn’t sure if you’d want to come. Y/n was insistent that you would like a day outside of the compound though,” Nat explains.

“I do have to say an invite to the playground was an interesting call from you,” Maria says. Her smile is soft as she too watches the kids play together. “And we’ve had many interesting calls.”

Natasha chuckles and takes a sip of her coffee. It’s a cool morning, but warm enough for a park trip for the first time in a while.

“So, what’s the real reason you asked me here?” Maria skips to the chase.

She, a great soldier and spy herself, can see the way Natasha’s hand fiddles with her wedding ring. A clear sign she has something to ask, but is being careful as to when to say it.

“Can’t get anything past you, Hill. What gave me away?”

“The ring.”

“Damn. I told y/n I needed to wear it on my necklace today,” Natasha says. She’s not upset that Maria read her tell. Maybe she even wanted her to notice it.

“So, what’s up?”

“There’s something I need to ask you. And it’s okay if you need some time to think about it, or even if you say no,” Natasha begins.

She’s nervous but as soon as she sees the subtle glance Maria makes towards the children when she hears a shout, she feels better about what she’s about to ask.

“Y/n and I have been talking and we want to ask you to be the godmother to Ali and Ivan.”

Maria blinks hard once, twice, and a third time. She looks over Natasha’s face and sees no inkling that she isn’t being serious.

“Oh, I- me?” She can’t find the right words. Maria never saw herself as the type to be a godmother. Her own insecurities start to flood her mind.

“Yeah, you. We just think that- Maria?” Nat calls after her as Maria excuses herself to the car.

She walks quickly, cursing herself internally for not just saying yes or that she’d think about it. As she gets in the car, she sits and watches on as Nat gets up to play with the kids.

Natasha panics in her own right and texts you to come to the park. You are working from home, but immediately leave your files behind and drive to the park.

“What happened?” You ask as soon as Nat and the kids are in ear shot.

“She just panicked when I asked her. Maybe I did something wrong, I don’t know. She’s in the car over there,” Nat explains. You catch sight of Maria.

“I’ll go and talk to her. It’s okay, baby. You did everything right,” you assure Nat with a hug and kiss to her lips.

As you approach the car, Maria takes a deep breath. You open the door and slide into the passenger seat.

“Hey,” you greet her, trying to be casual. In reality, Maria intimidates you with how calm and collected she always is during missions.

She only greets you with a soft smile. You can feel her nerves floating through the air.

“You see how Ali always keeps her eyes on her brother when they’re up high?” You think maybe if you steer the conversation in this direction then you can get through to her.

“Yeah. She’s a good protector,” Maria says. She can’t help but grin at the sight of the little girl.

“She is. She gets that from Natasha. You know she never thought she would be capable of being the mom she is, but she’s the best part of these kids’ lives,” you explain. Maria squirms in her seat a little. “And you’ve always been so supportive of me and Natasha.”

“Well it’s not hard. You two are great together.”

“Did you think that when you interrogated me when we got engaged?” You ask. You’re almost serious, but there’s a slight humor in your tone.

“I just wanted to make sure you were legit,” Maria remarks.

“So if I’m legit, then don’t you think that me and Nat thought about this a lot?” You poke at the real issue at hand.

She finally looks at you and she can’t help but soften at the way you’re looking at her. Maria takes note of your body language. Your shoulders are open to her and your hands rest on the center console. You’re not closed off in the slightest.

“I guess I’m just shocked,” Maria offers. “I don’t see myself as the type to be worthy of this sort of honor or responsibility.”

“Maria, I’ll be honest, you scare the absolute hell out of me. But it’s because you’re such a strong and capable woman. I can think of no one better to be the godmother to my children.”

Maria takes a deep breath and looks your expression over. She ponders your words and comes to a conclusion. “This was your idea?”

You nod affirmatively. Maria doesn’t say anything but she opens the car door and steps out. You follow her towards the children and Natasha. They are sitting on a bench as Nat gives them snacks.

“Hi Maria!” Ali sweetly greets the woman.

“Hey kiddo,” she replies. Then, she turns to you and Nat. “Can I talk to you two?”

You nod and take a few steps away from the kids, but are sure to keep them in sight and ear shot.

“I’ve got to admit it scares me, but I’d be honored to be their godmother,” Maria says. The words come out fast like she’s still a little scared to say them.

“Thank you so much, Maria. We’re so happy,” Natasha says. She smiles as she pulls Maria into a hug.

You watch them before Nat pulls you into the hug as well.

“I want a hug!” Your son, Ivan, runs in to join the group hug. Perfectly, he pulls on Maria’s hand and she lifts him up into the hug. Ali joins in too in Natasha’s arms.

“I love all of you,” Nat tells the group.

“We love you, babe,” you reply.

The kids mutter I love yous before running off to play once again. You sit on a bench with Maria and Nat.

And just as the first time she met Natasha, Maria feels like she has a family.

How’s about 2, 3, 16, and 17?

Well, am I LATE in responding to this! Sorry, real life and my real ADHD brain came between me and answering these earlier. BUT I'M HERE NOW!! Shuffles through archive to find the actual questions so I can answer... 2. A headcanon you weren't sure about but have now come to like. Alien-genitalia Ahsoka. I've never minded the HC of Ahsoka being dual sex or having a penis at all, but my head used to spin at some of the ideas I read about. "What do you mean, she has a blue tendril?!?!" Now, I'm like, "c'mon, surprise me. Let's see what your imagination can cook up." Yes, I will continue to write my own Ahsoka as my vanilla genitalia, sorry guys. I never said I was the one with the imagination.

3. A character that fandom has helped you appreciate. Cali don't yell at me for this. Satine Kryze. I smashed through The Clone Wars whilst on a solo camping trip with my dog along the Australian eastern coastline last year. When it would get dark and the mosquitos would come out to play, my dog and I would retreat into my epic swag-tent in the back of my ute, and I'd watch TCW until I was ready to sleep. TBH I had come to TCW to learn more about Ahsoka and Bo-Katan having just met them in S2 of the Mandalorian. All the characters I then got to meet was a bonus SW education. Satine I enjoyed as a character, especially with her obvious modelling off Cate Blanchett's take on Queen Elizabeth I. But, I ended up rolling my eyes a bit at her being used as that trope of 'that tool to hurt Obi-Wan deeply but show he doesn't turn to the dark side'. Yes I still cried like a bitch when she died in his arms, but still. I'm sick of women being used as features to strengthen a man's story arc. It was through fandom *cough* the LesBo discord server *cough* that I learned to appreciate Satine more for her pacifism politics despite her own classic bubbling Mandalorian anger issues, as well as her deeply complex, tumultuous relationship with her younger sister, Bo-Katan. Satine, you deserved better, and I wish I appreciated you more in my first encounter with you. Time for a Clone Wars re-watch, I think.

16. A tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate. That the characters in SW grow up, grow old, and grow in and out of certain roles or stereotypes fandom like to place them in. I think it's that 'found family' doesn't need to represent the traditional Western family nucleus. I see so much of fandom calling Hera and Kanan the mum and dad of the Ghost crew, and I'm not saying that's wrong, but it doesn't allow the natural growth that characters are allowed to have as they get older. Or maybe more that, fandom doesn't allow the characters to grow out of that. Hera is a natural leader, and summarising it as 'mum' vibes does her an injustice, as people much older than her respect her leadership and follow her to hell and back because of her natural command presence, her compassion for the people she leads and her steadfast belief in their cause. People seem to forget that characters like Zeb or Mon Mothma, who are 15/20 years older than Hera, follow her lead in times of crisis or even just daily run-of-the-mill military operations. Hera was a runaway 18 year old girl with just her ship and her murderous droid verses the galaxy, and she ends up a General of the Rebellion/New Republic. That's more than mum vibes, that's BAMF vibes.

On the other side of the equation you have Sabine and Ezra, often depicted as Hera's 'children' in Rebels. Yet they become adults With only an 8 year age gap between Hera and Sabine, it's natural that Sabine would grow into more of a little-sister dynamic with Hera, which they try to show in the Ahsoka series with Jacen calling her 'Aunt Sabine'. But people seem to prefer still calling Sabine a 'girl-failure' of a kid rather than the traumatised, 30 year old adult woman with complex relationships she now is. Pigeon-holing characters into nuclear family roles I feel either permanently infantilizes some characters unfairly, or makes them the chronic 'mum/dad' characters that aren't allowed to be seen as fun, rule-breaking or sexy. The characters in SW grow up, are changed by their experiences, relationships and traumas, and I find that beautiful. I wish more people did too.

17. The thing in canon that everyone loves that you also love. Sabine Wren being an artist as well as a killing machine. It might be an odd thing for me to fixate on, but growing up in a left vs right political society, I was often ostracised for being in the military but also being queer, left-voting, a seamstress and creative. Apparently, two such components of my identity were not allowed to co-exist in the one person. So naturally, I found it a breath of fresh air seeing in Rebels, Sabine spray painting anti-Imperial graffiti on a wall one moment to shooting or blowing up bucketheads a moment later without blinking an eye. Her painted armour, literally bringing those two 'opposing' sides of her identity together that makes her who she is - love it so damn much.

Anyways, I've probably taken all these questions too seriously and have possibly also pissed off half of fandom with my take on these. But at least I've had fun doing so. 😂

Sending my evil influence to give you the floor to say why you hate USUM

okay so i do want to give a disclaimer that i haven't beaten either sm or usum since they released. i feel like my memory on them is still good enough to say my piece but just keep in mind that i may be wrong about some details and i can own up to that if i am.

since we're talking about sm and usum cw for parental abuse towards children

okay i will say upfront that i do think in terms of gameplay i fully admit that usum is superior. a lot of the stuff it added doesn't really apply to me (i only use pokemon that were introduced in that generation so usum's expanded pokedex is for the most part meaningless to me, and it kinda annoyed me how i was forced to play mantine surf to get to akala when i just wanted to get there immediately). the options are still nice to have, they just didn't add much to my personal experience, which is why i'm mostly coming at this from a story perspective. the ultra wormhole stuff was fucking awesome though i loved that.

so: sm. while i wouldn't say its depiction of abuse was perfect (lusamine was forgiven way too easily imo) i still appreciate the way it came at it. the nihilego poison was a reason behind lusamine's actions, but it didn't excuse them. lillie still got to give her amazing speech to her mother about how children aren't just dolls and gladion is a little more on the fence about it iirc, so there were at least still some repercussions for lusamine in that regard. it's a story that hit very hard at the time of release because while my mom isn't abusive, our relationship was very rocky when i was 16, so sm was very cathartic for me. i'd imagine it'd still resonate deeply with me to this day if i were to replay it even though our relationship has improved since then.

so the tldr of that is that sm had a slightly flawed but still brilliant portrayal of familial abuse that blended in very well with the overall theme of different family dynamics (also shown through guzma/team skull in general, hau and his grandfather, etc.)

so usum just completely shat all over that with how they handled the aether family.

it's like genuinely pretty offensive to me with how lusamine's abuse was portrayed here. she's not under any sort of influence because of nihilego here, she's just naturally very nasty and cruel to her children. lillie doesn't get to give her her speech and gladion literally says something along the lines of "she's not so bad because she's our mother." LIKE WHAT!!!!!! you take away the understandable (but not justifiable) reasoning as to why she was cruel in sm so that she's just always horrible and then take away the few repercussions she faces to have her be excused entirely??? this just feels like abuse apologism. it leaves such an icky taste in my mouth. and derailing into the anime for a quick second here, that also had a weird portrayal of lusamine too. i wouldn't say it was as bad as it is in usum, since it did ultimately stick closer to sm, but it was just sort of weird with them making lusamine's main issue be that she's just sort of overbearing and making faba into the real villain (who also gets let off with a slap on the wrist despite being responsible for the trauma lillie held on to for years).

like that's the main reason why i can't go back to usum over sm. i just feel gross playing it.

and to be fair, this game did do guzma and hau better in terms of writing, but why did it have to portray the aether family in that way as well. i don't even really remember what they did with hau aside from making him the final battle (and tbh i felt like kukui was still a better final boss. i like hau, but the "rival as a champion" thing was done much more effectively in the kanto games imo.)

also rainbow rocket was dumb and cringe and i never even bothered finishing it. to this day (aside from bdsp because i didn't play that) it's the only postgame pokemon story i haven't beaten. i tolerated fucking sordward and sheilbert but not this. also i heard that ghetsis physically shoves lillie to the ground in his section and i genuinely need him to die for it. and worst of all they took hot archie away from us 😔

like i won't deny that usum added a lot of neat features and sidequests that made alola feel more alive (and i already loved alola in sm) but i cannot for the life of me get past how gross the story makes me feel.

So, My Hero Academia Chapter 387 (MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD)...

That was a really, really good chapter, but hoo boy that fucked me up real bad and I need to get some thoughts off my chest before I go to sleep.  Tumblr is the best place to post this; I’m not spending $8 on Twitter Blue to type this out.

First off, more eugenic stuff yay...  This time with Rei’s family, the Himuras.  So, turns out that Geten (the ice villain following Re-Destro) is a part of that family which means that he’s the Todoroki’s cousin at best.  I think Rei would’ve said something if he was her brother. 

And that the Himura’s have been inbreeding to keep their bloodline “pure” and their ice Quirk in tact...  And forced marriages were also desperate attempts to keep this in check.  UM WHAT THE FUCK, HORIKOSHI???  I’m not saying this is a bad thing story-wise, but it makes the Todoroki Family situation so, so much worse if that was even possible.  And sadly they’re not the only family to do this... 

So, if Rei was a product of inbreeding, then (and correct me if I’m wrong) the Todoroki children are technically inbred too on top of being born out of a quirk marriage to begin with INCLUDING SHOUTO WHO’S BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH (I need to clarify that I’m not criticizing Rei or her kids, it’s not their faults. I’m criticizing the practice of inbreeding itself).  I feel ill just thinking about that.  This is some royal family shit that should never be a thing to begin with.  I don’t care if marrying your 2nd cousin shouldn’t fuck up the kids too badly, it’s still extremely fucked up period!  This is honestly worse than the quirk marriage imo and that was bad enough as it was.  I kind of wish Horikoshi didn’t include this because it’s sadly kind of warpping my perception of them, but I’m not going to fly over to Japan and throw hands with him over it.

And this puts more context into why Rei chose to marry Enji because agreeing to be bought into a marriage with Endeavor to create the perfect offspring with Fire and Ice is somehow better than MARRYING YOUR FUCKING COUSIN AND HAVING A CHILD WITH THEM!  She never had a good choice to begin with; she just chose the best one that was given to her.  God, I feel bad for this woman.

I honestly need a few days to process this because it was dropped so casually and now I need to sit down and think of the implications of it while working on my finals 🥲

Onto Dabi who is fighting his dad with like half of his body remaining.  How the hell this man is alive is a goddamn mystery because he looks like a burning skeleton.  And this whole thing has caused his Quirk to evolve to the point where he’s now producing ICE ❄️!  HE HAS AN ICE QUIRK NOW TOO!  IT’S EXACTLY THE THING ENDEAVOR WANTED THIS WHOLE TIME AND NOW HE HAS IT IN THE WORST WAY POSSIBLE!  I WANT TO SCREAM!  SHOUTO AND DABI ARE REALLY 2 SIDES OF THE SAME COIN! 

There really is no way of knowing if Touya would’ve unlocked this part of his Quirk if he trained more with Endeavor, but the fact that he actually had the potential to become exactly what he was born for is devastating.  He could’ve been what his father wanted him to become, but his Quirk was too dangerous to himself to try.  If this happened, Natsuo and Shouto might not have been born (I’m glad they were born tbh), but at least the family would’ve been spared a shit ton of trauma.

Oh, and it looks like that massive fire punch he threw at Endeavor completely burned off his right arm and now he’s right armless like Endeavor.  That one panel of them “dancing” with right fire arms is haunting.  You could write a whole short essay on that panel.  Horikoshi loves parallels and I do too.

Honestly, I really expected Horikoshi to just kill off Endeavor and Dabi at the same time this chapter.  It looked like that’s where it was going.  There are a lot of ways their fates could be going and I can see it happening all those ways.  Personally, I want them to live at least until Shouto finally gets there.  I think Horikoshi is setting up that “Todoroki Family Reunion” he’s been planning since Chapter 300 or something especially with Rei entering the battle field.  What happens next is something we’ll have to wait for.  I want Endeavor to live honestly.  But, I can definitely see Dabi dying at the end because I really don’t think he’s going to survive at this rate.  Horikoshi cooked him too well 😂😭.

And finally REI TODOROKI!!!  The block or whatever her and her family were being transported in was stopped right below Gunga Mountain last chapter and they were forced to go up to the surface to make sure they avoid Dabi’s fiery explosion.  That’s why she’s up on the surface to begin with.  I do want to know how the hell she got to the battlefield so quickly though.  I don’t see her as a fighter, but maybe she trained her Ice Quirk to glide on it like Shouto does.  I’m really curious to see what she does because she does hold some responsibility for how Dabi turned out and I think she’s trying to atone in a way too.  This better not mean she’s dying though.  I don’t need the Todorokis to deal with more trauma, especially Shouto.

Anyways, there’s a lot to unpack in this chapter and there’s probably more to dive into.  Um, I’m glad to see Mr. Compress again like Horikoshi promised.  He’s probably still assless though.  Where are the 2nd year UA students you promised, sir???  But, yeah, the Todoroki drama continues to be more and more fucked up by the weeks.  Please let this family have peace one day I’m begging  🙏.
