fourteen years
ihsahn/faust • 1K • hurt no comfort
Summary: Ihsahn breaks up with Faust before the drummer goes to prison
A/N: This is similar to my previous Emperor x F!Reader and Emperor x Emperor works because I love exploring the angst of a loved one going far away for months and years. I wrote the first paragraphs and I thought "Wait this could be also yaoi... What should I write...? Fuck it I'll write every version I have in mind."

"Fourteen years," Bård announced looking at Vegard as he met the rest of the band for the first time after being sentenced, in the house where they all lived together.
The vocalist was expressionless, cold and serious. That sentence didn't surprise him, it was to be expected after the confession and he had long been aware that he would be rotting in prison for a good couple of years.
He was always aware of the things his band members and other friends did, he didn't agree and didn't want to participate, but he kept quiet and just like them he thought they would never get caught, being infected by that mentality of being unstoppable and having luck always on their side — but Varg ruined everyone's party. Øystein's murder at the hands of Varg the year before capped the fun in the Norwegian black metal scene.
The months between then and now had been very hard, with all the members of his band and other friends being interrogated and judged, including himself. The police had rightly started a witch-hunt and unfortunately his boyfriend had blood on his hands. Both Bård and he knew that the only fair thing to do was to confess to the major crime he had committed, even though the police had no evidence to point to him as the murderer. And instead of living like there was no tomorrow, making the most of the time they would soon be without, the relationship grew tense and cold. They both had doubts about whether they were still together, and Bård was terrified at the mere thought of asking and having an awkward conversation, probably a break-up.
Vegard had a year to psyche himself up, and yet he was still hurt and furious that absolutely all the members of his band were going to prison, some longer and some less. He was furious with all of them for what they had done, especially Bård.
A knock on his bedroom door caught his attention, snapping him out of his thoughts. It could be any one of them, but he had a feeling it was his boyfriend, or rather, the one who was. They still had an important conversation to have, just as there were still a few days before the future prisoners were due to enter prison, and before that they would go to his parents' house to spend their last days of freedom with their families. The next day they would pack their bags and leave, and he wouldn't see them again until God knows when.
"Come in," he said and the door opened. No light came in when he opened it, the light in the hallway was out as was the light in his room. He could barely see who it was, but his silhouette was enough to tell him apart.
"Hello," the assassin whispered as he closed the door behind him.
"Hello," he replied in the same tone as he reached over to his bedside table and turned on the small lamp there.
"We need to talk..." he said as he sat on the edge of the bed.
"Do we?" He asked incredulously with a raised eyebrow, and at that moment Bård knew that the conversation would be much harder and more difficult than he had already imagined. "I don't have to say anything."
"Look, I know I've fucked up pretty good, but I love you—"
"And?" He asked as before as he raised his arms to rest his hands behind his head. "No matter how much you say that, it's not going to fix anything."
"Fuck, do you have to be so cold?" he asked annoyed and on the verge of despair.
"If you're cold, go burn another church. Or if it bothers you so much kill me."
"Fuck Vegard," he said hurt at having his crimes rubbed in his face, clearly with the intention of hurting him and at the little effort he was making to make the conversation easier.
"There's nothing to talk about, I'm clearly not going to wait for you for fourteen years, in many ways," he said matter-of-factly.
Hearing that was like a bucket of cold water falling on him, leaving him completely paralysed and hurt, in shock with his eyes like vinyls as they began to get wetter and wetter. It was not only what he had said, but how he had said it — as if he meant nothing to him, as if he didn't care about his feelings. Bård even had to look away from him for a few seconds, he couldn't even bear to look at his expressionless face at that moment. He opened his mouth trying to say something, but even he didn't know what to say, having to spend a few seconds staring at the floor pondering what he would say next.
"Did you have to say it, just like that?" he said as he raised his head to look at him again.
"Not to have done what you did," he shrugged.
"Yeah, but then what did you want me to do? Not confess?"
"I wish you hadn't become a criminal, and above all a murderer," he said now more annoyed, angry and hateful. "But what's done is done, it's too late now."
"I love you Vegard, please," he confessed and begged as he burst into tears, tears falling from his now red eyes and his voice breaking.
""Please"!? Please what?" asked the aforementioned man angrily again.
"I don't know, I just want some affection from you," he replied.
"This conversation is becoming a pointless loop," he said lowering his arms and rubbing his fingers across his forehead. "It'll pass, especially when you get away from me. In fourteen years neither of us will have feelings for each other, I promise."
"I will."
"No, you won't."
"That's it? After all we've been through?"
"Again," he said annoyed and above all tired in many ways: "If it bothers you so much that we've been separated for so long, you should have thought about it before killing that man. Now go to sleep, go on," he said pointing his thumb at the door next to him.
Maybe breaking a murderer's heart isn't the best idea, but Vegard needed to express himself and make things clear to Bård so that he wouldn't get his hopes up about a possible future together and would be more aware of what he had done.

You belong by my side - Part 2
Characters: Taiju Shiba, reader (mention of Yuzuha Shiba and Hinata Tachibana)
Note: english isn't my first language, so there could be mistakes
Part 1 - Part 2 - next
Masterlist
===============================================
You were standing there together with Yuzuha, Hina and a couple of other women.
“Why am I even standing here?” Yuzuha asked, confused. “I don't even have a boyfriend.”
“Then go to the back and make a place for those who have a boyfriend”, Hina chuckled, knowing that Yuzuha would understand her comment as a joke.
“It's a tradition. As long as you're not married, you have to stand here with us. It doesn´t matter if you´ve got a boyfriend or not”, you added, clinging on to Yuzuhas arm in case she would leave.
Long story short, you weren't the one who caught the bridal bouquet. Pouting, you made your way back to the table where Taiju was sitting.
“I am too short for that stupid game”, stomping your foot on the ground like a child, playing the sulky one.
“Why did you participate when it is a stupid game?”, Taiju asked with a raised eyebrow.
“If I were the one who chatched the flowers, it wouldn´t be stupid.”
“Huh?” Taiju will never understand a woman's logic. “Do you want to marry me that bad?”
You tried to change the topic as quickly as possible, but your head was from one second to the other completely blank and your cheeks were more than red, which was enough of an answer for your boyfriend.
“Whatever”, making a fake cough, “I'll get us some drinks from the bar.”
You turned on your heels to avoid this awkward conversation.
While you ordered two drinks for Taiju and you, the guests, that nobody wants to talk to, approached you - the ‘embarrassing aunts’. You suppressed a sigh, when the three ladies came closer to you, already knowing that this conversation will be filled with unappropriated questions.
“You are Y/N, aren't you? A friend of my niece Yumi, right?”, she said excessively affordable.
“Oh, you were the one who danced with Mitsuya-kun earlier”, the second woman interfered. “You two looked so good together”, earning an approving nod from the other two ladies.
“I can't see any ring on your finger. Aren't you guys married yet?”
You raised your eyebrows. “Huh? Mitsuya-kun? No, I-....” Before you were able to explain yourself, you were interrupted again.
“It's such a shame. You´re the same age as Mitsuya-kun, aren't you? You two must have been dating each other for so long and he never asked for your hand?”
This conversation didn't make any sense in your head.
“Um….I´m not Mitsuya-kuns girlfriend. That´s a misunderstanding. We know each other and we danced together, but only because he is a friend of Hakkai and…”
“So, you´re Hakkais girlfriend? It's not surprising that he has such a cute girlfriend. I heard that he is a famous model overseas”, the third aunt intervened.
Normally you are a patient person, but the next time someone is going to interrupt you, your nerves are going to snatch.
“No, I´m not Hakkais girlfriend either. I´m in a relationship with his older brother”, pointing in Taijus direction. “Taiju.”
Six eyes were following the direction and in six eyes you could see disappointment.
“Really?”, the first one gave you a compassionate look. “Oh honey, you could do so much better. Isn´t Mitsuya-kun your type? You looked like a dream couple on the dance floor. I can ask him for a date for you, if you want me to.”
That's it. That was enough. You took a deep breath to stay calm, but innerly you exploded.
“Listen! I´m happy with my boyfriend of almost ten years. I don't need to look for another guy.”
“And there's no ring?”, the third one interrupted again.
“That's none of your business!”, raising your voice a bit to make your point clear.
Who do they think they are? Did someone pay them to ask those questions?
“He doesn't have to put a ring on my finger to make me happy. We´re completely fine. Oh, and before you ask more stupid questions, there aren´t any kids planned in the near future. If it happens, okay. If it doesn't happen, I´m fine with that too. Moreover…”
You stopped your monologue when you noticed Taiju standing next to you.
“Oh, hey babe.”
“Is something wrong?”
He had observed you for a bit and was here for your rescue, noticing your discomfort from afar.
“No….no, everything's fine.”
You wanted to end this stupid conversation and took a sip out of one of the glasses, checking too late that it was Taijus glass you drinked from, his whiskey instead of your water. Coughing immediately when you felt the burning sensation in your throat, your eyes getting wet.
“Tastes like shit” was the only thing you could say between the coughs.
Taiju looked at you worried, patting your back.
“Yeah, everything's fine. I can see that”, giving you the glass with the water. “Here.”
After you drank a big gulp of it, you finally came down.
“Yes, everything's fine”, wiping away your tears.
His eyes were still fixated on you, not believing you for the moment, but he sighed when you seemed to be okay.
“Do you want to give me another dance, love?”, holding out his hand for you.
“Of course, baby”, accepting his offer and dragging him on the dance floor again.
You forgot the stupid conversation with the aunts while you danced with him, your hands around his neck, his hands on your hips, to a slow song.
Taiju was proud of himself for rescuing you out of that conversation.

Seven minutes in Heaven with Physics Major Levi
author note :: i lost the ask but anon i do not know what this is. reading it sounded better in my head but physics major levi with reader who likes him is that a good description???? HM ANYWAY enjoy it’s not too great i’ve been revising nonstop for exams but i might as well have finished this off for the anon who requested it :-)
word count :: 2.5k probably... hm who knows maybe 3k
when you and levi become friends it’s definitely unexpected to say the least. everyone is naturally very confused by the peculiar pairing. levi doesn’t really... go out of his way to befriend anyone really??? so for him to approach you in the middle of the library and start talking about how he noticed you shared a class together was out of the ordinary
the flow of the conversation is a little awkward at first, you’re revising for a final exam and don’t really appreciate the disruption but you’re not confident enough to tell him to leave.
at one point an awkward silence drifts between the two of you until he points out you’ve completely RUINED your notes and have been looking over the wrong lectures for the up and coming physics exam
later on into the night levi’s stood sighing next to you. he tells you to take your pick from the pot noodle section — “hey, i know we literally just met but i’m telling you a chicken pot noodle is gonna make you feel better.”
you’re so distraught that he has to pick it up for you and pay
and that is how you and levi become friends !!!
if it’s of any relevance yes you passed the final (all because of levi giving you his organised binder full of notes and telling you to make use of it)
you know it just sorta happens but through all of the all nighters you’ve pulled with levi by your side you become used to his presence nearby. in fact most of the the time it’s difficult to even find you anywhere without him. you’re both practically joined at the hip
levi’s pretty protective of you, hates the whole party scene but is willing to tag along if you’re going. at first you think it’s because he feels more comfortable stepping out of his comfort zone if you’re there with him but his intentions become more evident later on
any time someone makes you uncomfortable he’s by your side, if you happen to get into any sort of trouble he’s the person people call to help you because who else knows you the way levi does?
currently you and levi are at another party, you tend to keep to yourself and only ever talk to your close friends. it’s also not like you to partake in games, you’re far too nervous to play anything like seven minutes in heaven but for some reason you find yourself wanting to take part JUST this once
maybe it’s the fear of never making fun memories to tell your future children about
then again why on earth would you be telling your children about your experience kissing a random man in a closet??
either way, participating shouldn’t hurt!!! you’ve got to loosen up a little!!!
levi’s a little surprised you agree to play nevertheless he still sits next to you, the both of you have your legs crossed on the floor, your knees are touching and you aren’t sure if he feels the same warm sensation that you feel. it bubbles in the pit of your stomach – you feel oddly content
“levi!! anyone you want the bottle to land on ???” hange a mutual friend of yours leans in handing him the glass bottle
levi gives the bottle a disgusted look before his gaze flicks over to you.
“i’m only here because of y/n, i ‘m not playing.”
that doesn’t satisfy hange and they begin to groan complaining that he can’t stay unless he spins the bottle
“look you don’t have to do anything in the closet, okay??” hange’s begging him at this point, he’s still holding up pretty well and for some reason you’re disappointed. it’s almost like you hoped he’d spin the bottle just so it would land on you
levi takes notice of your frown and guesses you want him to be included, he isn’t one for games like these but if it’ll make you happy so be it. there’s still the chance it’ll land on you and his thought process falters for a second.
he thinks he really wouldn’t mind if the bottle landed on you and so he ends up nodding and agreeing to play.
anyway it’s not as if he isn’t guilty of imagining the two of you being a little more than friends
ok wait!!!! it’s completely innocent HE SWEARS!!!!
he’s never told you about it but sometimes he thinks if he was a little more straightforward that day at the library and asked for your number MAYBE just MAYBE his intentions would be clearer and he wouldn’t be stuck in the friend zone for this long
he should’ve used a stupid physics pick up line he knows you love those
something like – “i’m attracted to you more than an electron’s attracted to a proton.”
or maybe — “i’d fall for you even in the absence of gravity”
ok... maybe you wouldn’t have got that one considering you were revising the wrong content and probably forgot about that topic
he can’t imagine himself saying those things but if it would make you finally see him as a potential love interest and not a best friend he wouldn’t mind having to force it out
but still it’s not really a secret that levi has a soft spot for you, literally everyone can see it. when has he ever gone out of his way to save a seat for anyone? when has he ever willingly gone to a party? WHEN has levi actually let someone lay their head on his shoulder??
he only ever let’s you do that stuff
let’s actually discuss the head on his shoulder thing!!!
whenever finals approach you’re always sucked in by huge amounts of work and barely get to sleep, levi’s always hovering over your shoulder reminding you to catch a few hours but of course you don’t listen. you think you’ll be just fine if you rely on an energy drink and two hours of sleep to get by
but levi knows you better than you know yourself. it’s hour seven into the day and you’re already dozing off in your seat. slowly but gradually your head tilts forward. levi’s sitting across you contemplating whether or not he should prop your head back up like a nice friend would or if he should wait for you to smack your forehead right into the solid oak table.
he ends up making his decision last minute, your head flies towards the table and if it were anyone else he’d just let them jolt awake from the harsh impact but it’s you and his body won’t let him ignore you.
on reflex his hand flies out and in the matter of a split second he’s holding your head back. he’s surprised you haven’t woken up and he’s even more surprised he bothered to help you
before that happens levi knows he likes you, he knows he enjoys your company, he’s aware you make him happy but he thinks he’s willing to just be friends with you because clearly you don’t want to pursue anything.
you haven’t even flirted with him before aside from the witty “you remind me of an exothermic reaction” joke that you made one time
oh and there’s also the additional fact that you had a boyfriend up until quite recently so he’s sure you don’t see him romantically
honestly he’s fine with not dating you but something about seeing you overwork yourself like that has him simmering in anger. if he were your boyfriend he would have forced you into bed whether you liked it or not
if he were your boyfriend he’d never break up with you because he “found someone better.” he can’t even manage to imagine anyone better than you.
levi shuffles into the seat next to yours and places your head onto his shoulder. a few students shoot him questioning looks but the deadly glare he sends back is enough to deter them from coming any closer
it’s a little funny actually, by the time you wake up you’re rubbing at your eyes, you don’t even notice how close levi is to you until his hot breath fans across your neck. it seems like he’s dozed off whilst trying to make notes on fluid dynamics
wait
levi. right. next. to. your. neck.
should you move????
no, he might wake up he barely sleeps and you don’t want to mess up his schedule even more
that day you choose to drift off back to sleep as if you never woke up to his breath against your neck.
“OHHHH LEVI LANDED ON Y/N????”
your head shoots up NOW you’ve completely been dragged away from your thoughts.
“lucky for you both. guess you won’t have to do anything and stand there for seven minutes. told ya levi there was nothing to worry about B-)”
hange without warning pulls you both up by your arms, you’ve yet to see levi’s reaction, you’re too stunned to have noticed his slack jaw or wide eyes
“HAVE FUN!”
and with that said and done you and levi are shoved into the cleaning closet
“well, i’m glad it landed on you. i won’t have to do anything.” levi seems happy as can be, you don’t really know why but it stings a little
he doesn’t even seem to stop for a second to wonder if you’d maybe want to do anything
are you just not his type ????
hange once told you levi liked organised people and well,, you’re anything but organised. you’d probably pass out from the work load of your physics lectures if not for levi always helping you out
scowling to yourself you try to ignore just how awkward the situation is until levi plops down on the floor in front of you
“you okay?” he asks looking genuinely concerned
“i- yeah i’m good.”
your eyes dart away trying to look at anything but him. you can’t deny he looks good today, you actually helped him slick his hair back - the entire time he complained about the hair gel feeling weird but he looks great and now you can’t even stare at him for more than a second
“i’m guessing you’d have preferred if the bottle landed on someone else.”
leaning forward without even noticing it you aggressively deny what he says. “NO!!! i like being stuck here with you.”
levi looks stunned by your outburst but nods “oh, did you feel pressured to join the game? we can leave if you want—”
“no, no i– you aren’t– oh god i mean, look. i can explain– do i need to explain???”
completely choking up in front of him and sputtering before slamming your lips shut and saying absolutely nothing is probably one of the most awkward things you’ve done in your ENTIRE existence
levi reaches out for your knee, something that’s usually seen as him being friendly only feels intimate tonight. his thumb strokes comforting circles into your skin. the situation doesn’t make it any better, essentially you’re meant to be making out with him right now
“is something bothering you?”
there it is again. that look. he only seems more concerned than before and you hate yourself for not even thinking about your friendship before you open your mouth.
“do you not want to kiss me because we’re best friends or is it something else?”
there it is. you’ve said it.
you see levi’s face contort from a mix of confusion to what looks like disgust then shock. screwing your eyes shut you know you’ve ruined everything now. he’s never going to speak to you, never going to approach you again. you’re mentally preparing for him to ditch you at this party right here right now
but then you notice his hand still steadily placed on your knee, he’s now stopped with the circles, his grip is bruising
“do you want me to kiss you?”
his question isn’t really expected, it helps you find the courage to look your best friend in the eye.
it’s pretty dark but you can still make out the familiar shadows of his face. the butterflies rush up from your stomach all the way to your throat.
mild regret fills you, usually his curtains obscure his piercing gaze but the way you’ve styled his hair gives him a better view of you, there’s nowhere for you to hide
not even stopping to think about the possibility of him teasing you right now, all you care about is telling him the truth. you’ve come all the way here you may as well finish off what you’ve started
“would you be mad if i said i’d like it if you did?”
levi doesn’t need any more confirmation than that, he swoops in yanking you by your waist. his knees are still pressed against the floor and so you find yourself leaning down into his mouth and craning your neck downwards
his chest is completely pressed against yours. the drumming of your heart is so loud you feel self conscious but levi’s soft lips moving against yours distract you from that
not even ten seconds in and you feel out of breathe but not in an overwhelming way. levi’s pace isn’t at all what you imagined it to be like. he’s soft and slow yet calloused and rough around the edges, some how he still manages to make the kiss sweet
his left hand leisurely travels to the small of your back, the other hand now caresses your cheek. his fingertips are anything but soft but the way he handles you is tender and endearingly delicate.
you smile into the kiss and almost instantly levi’s lips tug upwards too. his take on seven minutes in heaven is quite easily the most romantic thing you’ve been subjected to. instead of a passionate make out you’ve been given a honeyed introduction to a new side of him
the kiss ends much quicker than you anticipate, you open your mouth to whine and convince levi that the two of you should still have a solid minute left before hange returns but he presses his index finger against your lips
“later. i promise.” his voice is heavy and if his blushed cheeks are anything to go by he’s thoroughly enjoyed your session together
at his reassurance you comply and take the time to have a better look at him
his lips are wet – some of your lip gloss has clearly stuck to him. his hair isn’t as well styled as it was before, seeing him like this makes you feel a surge of confidence. you know you did that to him.
so... what is someone to do with a sudden boost in confidence?
hit your new possible love interest with a pick up line :-) !!!
“heyyy so i know the spring constant of my mattress, would you be interested in taking some data with me?”
slapping your shoulder lightly he’s yet to gain his composure back, levi’s genuinely out of breathe now trying to steady himself and your comment doesn’t do him any favours that’s for sure
“my god you have no sham–”
without warning the door to your left swings open you and levi flinch trying to scramble away from eachother only to fail, hange marches in before stopping dead in their tracks.
all they see is levi knelt in front of you, hair disheveled huffing like his life depends on it
then their focus shifts to you, you’re sure some of your makeup has smudged and the entire scenario looks suspicious
levi seems as if he’s about to warn hange to not tell anyone and keep this a secret for now but they sprint away before any of you have the opportunity to ask for some privacy
not even ten seconds later a collision can be heard alongside a series of thuds and then hange’s yelling towards the end of the hallway “GUYS??? THEY ACTUALLY DID IT???”
for some reason the cheers coming from the living room warm your heart
you guess your friends figured out the direction of your relationship long before you and levi did :-)

potions class confessions (james potter x reader)
description - Reader is a potions natural and she gets paired up with James in class. While trying to make conversation they both let it slip that they might have a crush on each other. oops?
word count - about 1800
warning - Fluff!! avoidance and awkwardness, James being maybe a little shy ooc. Reader is a badass. House not specified but non Gryffindor is implied. Some negative self talk. There is also wolfstar!
MASTERLIST
Potions was by far your favorite class. The professor loved you and you had it with Gryffindor. This meant that you got to see him. James Potter. The golden boy of his year. You knew he was probably out of your league but you were pretty badass as well if you did say so yourself. You had top marks and were the seeker of Y/H. You were also widely liked, even though you weren't as loud or outspoken as the troublesome group of four in Gryffindor house. Your attention was drawn to your professor when he began to call out partners for the next couple weeks of the course. Your heart nearly stopped when he said you would be partners with none other than James Potter. Your heart picked up speed. You had a crush on the boy but you knew he was deeply infatuated with the beautiful Lily Evans of his own house. You knew better than to try to compete.
You looked over to where he sat with his friends and they were all giving him looks and shoving his shoulders. You thought they might be making fun of him for having to be partnered with you. You felt heat rise to your cheeks. He looked over and you made eye contact. Both of you looked away as quickly as possible and your cheeks darkened in color.
By the middle of class you had all migrated into your potion pairs and your assignment was to make a very simple healing potion that you could make in your sleep. It was more for practice than anything else. You hadn't spoken a word to James and he seemed unusually quiet. You had a suspicion that he didn't like you. He got pretty quiet whenever you were around and he sometimes would even leave the room when you entered. You didn't know why he didn't like you but you pressed on. And your crush persisted nonetheless.
"Quit staring at me, you're making me nervous." You mumbled as you began pouring in ingredients but you could feel his gaze on the side of your head.
You didn't look up when you heard him mutter a small, "Sorry." It was a short response and your heart sped up a bit at even the sound of his voice. Oh you were whipped and he wouldn't even talk to you.
"Do you wanna do this next part? You should participate if you want full marks on the assignment but I can keep going if you want me to." You offered, finally looking up at him. He was taller than you but his eyes were piercing. You held the spoon out a bit for him to take if he wanted and he smiled a bit at you before grabbing it. His hand brushing against yours had your heart fluttering and you thought you might just throw up. You both stared at the potion as James began to stir and he counted his rotations. When he got to 20 you threw something else in and he began to stir again, counting to 20 again. It was a bit tedious and ridiculously quiet.
"So, are you looking forward to the match tomorrow?" you tried to find a common discussion topic. He smiled a bit and took the spoon out of the cauldron. You looked to the clock and began the countdown of 5 minutes for the potion to sit before the next step.
"I'm very much looking forward to it. We are for sure gonna beat Y/H" he looked over at you slyly. You gasped dramatically.
"How dare you! I will have you know that I have caught the snitch in every match this year but one and that was because your beater hit me early in the game. I will be beating you tomorrow." You smirked. He looked at you with amusement in his eyes and he giggled a bit. He wasn't nearly as cocky alone as he was in large crowds.
"You're probably right. Our seeker is a bloody dud and it's unfair that we have to deal with him while Y/H has you, you're the best seeker Hogwarts has had in 50 years." He smiled at you, his volume matching yours, louder than your previous murmurs. You blushed under his gaze and under the praise that you hadn't expected. You thought he would tease you back instead of showering you with compliments.
"Flattery wont make me go easier on you, Potter. I'm still going to beat Gryffindor." you smiled., trying to bring the teasing back before the conversation got too serious and you revealed something you weren't supposed to. His eyes sparked at you and he smiled for a second longer before breaking your eye contact and chuckling.
"It was worth a try." He grinned, "You know, Remus was jealous I got to be your potions partner cause you're such a genius in potions and he's got to deal with stumble-y over there. " he nodded over to where you could see Remus trying to corral Sirius away from their cauldron as Sirius was a bit notorious for dropping things that happened to cause explosions. You laughed and blushed at the compliment.
"You do just fine on your own but thank you." You tried to calm your heart rate a bit. "Are they dating?" you questioned genuinely, still gazing at the duo across the room. You had seen them in the halls standing a bit close for friends and you thought you saw them holding hands once. James smiled like he was remembering something fondly and shakes his head.
"Not yet." he said simply. You quirked an eyebrow at him questioningly. "They've both got massive crushes on each other but refuse to see it. They'll figure it out eventually but for now its just endless flirting and it is downright exhausting." He said but all with a smile on his face, never an ounce of annoyance in his voice. "Have you had anyone catch your eye yet? I cant believe you aren't dating anyone." He continued to make conversation.
"I've thought about a few guys but the ones I like aren't the ones that like me." You tried to say lightly, avoiding eye contact with James. "But thats no big deal, I've got bigger things to worry about than who wants to take me to Hogsmeade next weekend or who's going to pick me up on the quidditch pitch when I've won that match tomorrow." You joked but James didn't really laugh.
"I want to." He looked at you before the timer you had set went off. Before you could say anything he started asking questions about what was next and you quickly threw the right ingredient in and stirred it three times. You raised your hand to call the professor over and while you were explaining your work you could feel James fidgeting behind you. The professor told you to sit tight the rest of class as you had finished early and you nodded at him before turning back to James.
"Are you pranking me or something?" You questioned lightly, already slightly upset that he would joke about something that you didn't want to joke about. You saw him look up into your eyes and furrow his eyebrows at you.
"No I'm not pranking you, why would you ask me that?" he asked, concern filled his voice. You looked down again and felt your heart pick up, your eyes stinging.
"Its just that I know that you have a think for Evans and I didn't know if you were kidding a second ago." you relied honestly. You felt a hand on yours before your pinkie was linked with his.
"I'm not pranking you. And I don't actually like Evans. I mean she's one of my best friends but me being in love with her was a rumor Sirius started as revenge for me telling Remus he liked him. I've.." He sighed a bit, "I've had a crush on you for a few years now actually." he looked sad. You moved so you were fully holding his hand and you squeezed.
"Look, if you're serious then I would love to go to Hogsmeade with you, I've liked you for a significant amount of time, I just don't want you to feel like you have to cause you pity me or something." you mumbled the last part. James looked at you inquisitively.
"Why would I pity you? As I've said you're the best seeker I've ever seen at Hogwarts and you can properly kick my ass in any class we happen to be in. And I promise I'm only half trying to get you to go easy on the match tomorrow." you smiled at the end and you chuckled a bit.
"Okay then, will you go to Hogsmeade with me next weekend?" You questioned, a bit more sure of yourself.
"Of course I will. I was also hoping I could steal a tie or two so I can properly represent when i'm at your matches. When you aren't actively crushing my team, that is." he smiled and your heart soared.
"I guess we will have to make a trade." you smiled and as soon as class let out you walked hand in hand into the corridor.
"Finally! Took you long enough, mate." you heard the voice of the raven haired boy behind you as he stood rather close to his not-yet-boyfriend. He pushed James a bit in the shoulder and held his hand out to Remus. Remus sighed and handed him a galleon.
"You couldn't have waited to make it official until the Hogsmeade trip? You've just cost me a galleon." he teased and you both laughed a bit.
"You should have let me in on the bet before hand and I could have kept it professional for another week." you smiled and James pushed you a bit from the side and you all laughed.
You looked over at him and his smile was so wide it made his eyes nearly close. You took a deep breath as you finished laughing and you started to pull him toward the dining hall where you were planning on getting dinner. His hand left yours and instead snaked up to you head so he could push your hair to press a kiss to the side of your head and you blushed deeply. You couldn’t have cared less when you heard a gagging sound behind you from the best friends of the man you hoped to be with for a longtime.

dance with me
summary: luke decides to step in and stop y/n’s friends from teasing her about never having a boyfriend. this leads to fake dates and real feelings.
pairing: luke patterson x reader
word count: 5.5k
warnings: fake dating, alcohol mentions
a/n: my second luke fic which took me way too long to finish because motivation deserted me. Gif is mine :)
It wasn’t a new feeling to feel somewhat left out and like a spare part. Y/N was more than used to her friends chatting away beside her like she wasn’t even in the room. She was sure it should have bothered her more than it did. Countless times people had asked why she put up with it, and the answer was always simple. Because they were her friends, at least one of them was. Yes the other two weren’t the greatest friends, she could at least admit to that. But she had known Jessica her whole life and now they were kind of part of the package, it was easier to be with them. And if she was being honest with herself she liked to sit on the outskirts, only listening in and never participating.
She wasn’t much of a talker. She enjoyed people watching and listening to her friends gossip, she could think of nothing worse than having attention on herself. Plus, if her friends were ignoring her it meant they weren’t pestering her about her love life. And that was something Y/N was more than thankful for. It started out harmless when they were younger. She was the last of her friends to hold a boy's hand. The last one to share a kiss. The last one to have a boyfriend (of course, because she still hadn’t). They had teased her about it.
“Oh, Y/N, why do you never go out? Why do you never have fun?”
“Don’t you want a boyfriend?”
“Please let us try and hook you up!”
But the meaningful pestering had slowly turned to more hurtful taunts.
“You’re so boring Y/N, you really need to lighten up!”
“You’ll never find a boyfriend if you don’t live a little!”
“Are you sure you want to come to the party? Everyone has a date, you’ll be alone like usual.”
She tried not to let it bother her. Rolling her eyes and shaking off her friends comments. She convinced herself she was fine on her own. She didn’t want a boyfriend and she certainly didn’t need one. She had considered finding one just to shut them up, but she couldn’t imagine dating someone just for the sake of it. She was old fashioned. She believed you should love wholeheartedly with everything in you. You should love truly and fiercely and definitely not give yourself away just to be included.
Y/N had seen her friends jump from one boy to the next, some not lasting more than a week. She didn’t want that. She would rather be seen as boring than throw herself at boys just for attention. She knew she had nothing in common with her friends and she also knew people wondered why they even hung out with her. But her friends were popular. And it was easier to be in the popular crowd and ignored than it was to be in the shadows and picked on.
It was near the end of lunch time when her friends finally noticed her again. Jessica was leaning against her locker, eyes locked on her compact mirror as she applied another layer of pink lipstick.
“You haven’t forgotten about my party this weekend, have you Y/N?” She asks before pursing her lips at her reflection.
Jessica was the girl Y/N had known the longest. She could stand Jessica. When they weren’t around everyone else she was back to being the girl she’d met when they were seven. Giddy and excitable, not caring what she looked like. But in public she put on the image of the perfect princess, and she definitely played it well.
“It’s your birthday Jessica, how could I forget?” She rolls her eyes with a smile gracing her lips.
Jessica snaps her mirror shut and forms her pink lips into a dazzling smile, “So you’ll be there?”
“Of course I’ll be there.” She agrees with a nod, she would call Jessica her best friend, she wouldn’t miss her birthday party for anything.
“Are you bringing someone?” Jasmine asks, her perfectly trimmed brow quirking up with her question, “We wouldn’t want you standing on your own in the corner like last time.” She smiles, tight lipped and fake as she waits for a reply.
She opens her mouth slightly, considering for a moment if it was a good idea to lie and say she was bringing someone, just to wipe the smug look from Jasmine's face. But before she can decide if that is a good idea or a train wreck waiting to happen a voice speaks up.
“Of course not,” Amber giggles, “Have you ever had a date before, Y/N?” Amber tilts her head, a smile just as fake as jasmines setting on her lips.
“No, but that’s okay,I don’t revolve my self worth around boys' attention.” She returns Amber's smile.
“That’s good! Because you don’t get any!” Amber retorts back with a laugh.
“Amber-“ Jessica begins to scold her friend but is cut off before she can begin.
“Hey, Y/N.” A voice from behind her catches everyone’s attention.
Jessica raises a brow at the boy behind her friend as she turns to see who exactly was greeting her.
“Oh, hi, Luke.” Y/N replies, her hand coming up in a small wave, she cringes at her own awkwardness.
“I just wanted to make sure we’re still on for tonight,” the boy smiles at her and she can’t help but forrow her brows.
She knows Luke from a couple of her classes but she can’t say she’s ever said more than a few words to the boy. Her memory wasn’t amazing but she was pretty sure she hadn’t made any sort of plans with the boy, he was practically a stranger after all.
“Uh, I-“ she begins to tell him that she has no clue what he’s talking about but he cuts her off again as if he knows what she will say.
“I know I said I wasn’t sure what we should do, but I was thinking we could catch a movie?” Luke raises both of his brows at the girl in front of her, willing her to just go along with it.
And if Y/N has learnt anything from her many years people watching she knows how to read signs, something finally clicking in her head as she quickly nods.
“Right!” She smiles, “Yes, a movie that sounds great! Is seven still good?”
Luke nods, a grin appearing on his face, “Seven, yeah, see you then.” He sends her a last nod before burying his hands into his pockets and turning away, feeling pretty pleased with himself.
Y/N turns back to her friends feeling extremely confused but determined not to show it. Amber and Jasmine look somewhat annoyed but Jessica is practically bursting with excitement.
“Y/N!” She squeals and grabs her shoulders, “Why didn’t you say you had a date with that cute boy?” She shakes her friend for an answer.
The girl laughs, prying her friends hands from her shoulders, “I guess it slipped my mind.” She offers with a shrug.
“Slipped your mind?” Jessica she is sure is about to reprimand her but her scolding is cut off by the ringing off the bell, “I want all the details!” She finishes instead.
She sends her friend one last grin before grabbing onto Amber and Jasmine and pulling them down the hall while Y/N turns the opposite way and heads to literature. She couldn’t honestly say why Luke had come over to them but she was glad he had. The looks on her friends' faces when they thought she had a date was the best thing to happen to her in a long time.
She took her seat in the classroom, the room already almost full of students. The seat next to her was taken up by the boy who had stood in front of her just moments before.
“Hey,” she greets as she opens up her notebook, “What was all that about?” She asks.
Luke looks over to her, his desk empty of anything except a blunt pencil which he was rolling around with a finger. He shrugs, smiling as he meets her eyes.
“I guess I got sick of your friends always making fun of you for not having a boyfriend.” He replies like it’s nothing.
“Wait, you know about that?” She asks, a soft laugh leaving her lips, “I never realised people noticed.”
Luke nods, “I notice a lot of things. It’s not right, friends shouldn’t put each other down. I hate seeing it, so I thought I’d wipe the smirks off their faces. Thanks for going along with it.”
She offers him a genuine smile, “I nearly didn’t, I was so confused!” She admits causing him to laugh, “But thank you.”
He opens his mouth to reply but the late bell sounds and the teacher shuts the door bringing the class to silence. So instead he sends her one last smile before averting his eyes out of the window, his finger still pushing the pencil he’d stolen from Reggie around his desk.
The hour dragged by slowly. She didn’t mind this class most of the time but she couldn’t get her mind to focus on the poem they were supposed to be dissecting. If there was one thing she could never grasp it was poetry. She found it beautiful and clever, but she couldn’t tell you what most of it meant. So when the bell finally rang to signal the end of the lesson she let out a sigh of relief and snapped her notebook closed.
“Not like poetry?” Luke asks with a laugh at her slightly dishevelled look after running her hands through her hair.
“If my life depended on understanding poetry I’d have been dead a long time ago.” She admits, and then frowns at the awkwardness of being death up in a conversation.
“Well, it’s a good thing it doesn’t then.” Luke grins as he follows her out of the glass room.
The pair don’t get two steps away from the door before they are bombarded by a blonde in a pink dress.
“Why haven’t you replied to my text?” Jessica stresses, reaching out and grabbing Luke by the shirt as he tries to slip past her, “Are you bringing your new date to my party?” She deposits Luke back by Y/N’s side and looks at the pair expectantly.
“Oh! Uh, well I hadn’t actually brought it up yet.” She offers with a shrug.
“Well then you’re lucky I brought it up for you!” Jessica grins, “It’s on Saturday at nine, my house. I’ll see you there!” She waves to Luke before disappearing in the crowd of people.
Luke and Y/N share a look, one full of confusion, hopefulness and a tinge of awkwardness.
“Guess I’m your date to a party?” Luke asks with a soft chuckle, his hand coming up to rub the back of his neck.
Y/N quickly shakes her head, “No! No please don’t feel the need, I’ll just make something up.”
“So you don’t want me to go?” Luke asks holding a hand up to his heart, “I’m slightly offended.”
“I mean…” she bites her lower lip, looking around the hallway desperate for an escape which never came, “I just meant, it’s not necessary.”
Luke laughs, “I’m only messing with you,” he reaches out and taps her arm lightly, “But uh, i'll go, if you want. I kind of want to mess with your friends a little more.” He admits.
She raises a brow and laughs a little, “Like, fake date?” She asks, laughing again when Luke nods. She knows she should say no, roll her eyes and push him away, but the memory of Amber and Jasmines faces from earlier flashed back into her mind. This opportunity was too good to pass up on, it’s not like she was throwing herself at boys like she promised herself she wouldn’t, it’s all fake. And what’s the harm in fake dating a cute boy?
“Okay,” she nods, “Fake boyfriend, i'll see you there.”
------
The more she thought about it the more she was convinced she was crazy. Fake dating someone was one thing, but fake dating someone she’d never even held a conversation with? That was off the spectrum of crazy. How was she supposed to convince her friends that she was actually dating someone who she knew nothing about? What if they actually had nothing in common? What if when they finally do hang out they can’t stand each other? She supposed they could just fake break up just as convincingly as they fake got together. And she decided that was probably the best option. Break it off now before it got too out of hand for everyone involved. It was what she fully intended on doing. Her speech was already planned out and rehearsed multiple times on the walk to Jessica’s party.
She was going to walk up to him, look him straight in the eye and tell him it was a crazy idea and they needed to stop. She didn’t have time for a real boyfriend let alone a fake one and she didn’t want anyone to get hurt. But as she rounded the corner and saw the boy waiting for her the plan fizzled out of her thoughts immediately and she found herself skipping over to him with a grin.
“Don’t you scrub up nicely.” She comments, tugging playfully on his shirt.
He had forgone his usual slogan tees with ripped sleeves and dressed in a plain black T-shirt and jeans, a plaid shirt thrown on the top which she was sure she’d seen a friend of his wearing the week before.
Luke shrugs looking almost bashful for a second, “I didn’t want to stand out and show you up. You look nice.” He adds, finally looking her up and down.
She’d chosen a simple dress, dark blue in colour and stopping just above the knee, “Yeah well, I didn’t want to show you up.” She teases with a nudge of her elbow.
“I guess we should get this awful evening over with then?” Luke jokes, offering his arm to her to link hers through which she does instantly.
The party was already in full swing when they walked through the doors, her friends drunk to the point of not caring about her arrival which she was more than pleased about.
“I don’t really drink.” She comments as she grabs a can of cola from the table, Luke helps himself to one after.
“Me neither.” He smiles, “I’d rather know what I’m doing...And not look like an idiot.” He leans up to look over her shoulder at the girl stumbling around in her heels like bambi on ice.
She looks over her shoulder, letting out a laugh at the sight before turning back, “You mean you don’t want to look like that?” She grins and grabs onto his arm, “C’mon, there's nothing more annoying than drunk people.”
She leads him outside, pulling him down onto a bench beside her. The backyard was quieter than inside the house, fewer drunk people shouting and laughing and mostly just people chilling out.
“Honestly, I don’t really like parties.” Luke comments, taking a sip from his can, “I’d much rather hang out with some friends and chill.”
Y/N nods her head in agreement, “Same, but unfortunately my friends are the ones who throw all the parties.”
“Don’t take this the wrong way but, why are you friends with them?” Luke looks over to her and raises an eyebrow in question, “You don’t really seem to fit with them.”
“Jessica’s my best friend, the others...Well, they’re friends with Jess so I guess I have to put up with them.” She shrugs, averting her gaze from his intense stare and looking down at her can in her hands.
“Yeah but you don’t have to put up with them being bitches to you.” Luke comments.
She lets out a laugh, leaning her head back against the bench and looking over to him, “It’s not that bad. It’s either that or sitting on my own everyday. And I’ve never heard you swear before.”
“Y/N! Luke!” Jessica practically screams their names, stumbling through the patio doors and pulling her nights catch along behind her, “I’m so glad you came! Together!”
She leans down pulling her into a clumsy hug, almost knocking Luke out with her elbow as she pulls back.
“So! This is getting pretty serious, huh?” She wiggles her eyebrows suggestively at her friend causing her to laugh.
“Jess, it’s been three days.” She giggles, she feels Luke's hand grab hers and allows him to intertwine their fingers, “Three great days.” She adds on with a grin she was sure was the definition of cheesy.
“I’m so happy for you!” Jessica pouts grabbing onto her friends spare hand, “I guess this means you’ll be going to the dance together?” She gasps, the grin on her face radiating excitement.
“Uh,” She looks over at Luke expectantly, eyebrows raised in question.
“We wouldn’t miss it.” Luke answers for them, squeezing her hand and shooting Jess a smile.
Jess lets out a squeal before the boy attached to her hand begins to tug her back inside complaining that it's cold. She rolls her eyes and mouths an apology before disappearing back into the throng of people inside.
“We don’t really have to go.” She begins to say quickly but Luke jumps up and pulls her with him by her hand.
“I don’t mind. And uh, as much as I dislike parties, we’re not going to annoy your friends if we sit out here all night.” He shoots her a cheeky grin before dragging her into the mass of the party.
They discard their empty cans on the kitchen table and head to the living room which has been turned into a makeshift dance area. The room was packed and Y/N already felt nervous about the idea of dancing and being surrounded by so many people.
“I can’t really dance.” She laughs, stopping in the midst of the drunk dancers.
“It’s not proper dancing,” Luke shrugs, he grabs ahold of her waist and pulls her into him, their chests pressing together as his arms snake around her back, “And your friends are watching.”
He smirks as she averts her eyes to the left, Amber and Jasmine watching their every move with matching scowls causing her to giggle. She lifts her hands and rests them against Luke’s chest, letting him move her along to the pop song which was playing too loudly.
“I don’t think we fit in.” She mentions, watching the couples around her grind against each other.
Luke laughs, “Well if you want to fit in.” He quickly spins her around, pulling her back so her back is pressed against his chest, “We can dance like this.” He whispers into her ear as his hands rest against her hips.
She feels her face heat up and lets out a laugh hoping to cover it up, “I guess this is more believable, but I’m not doing that!” She motions with her head towards the couple beside them who were grinding aggressively against each other.
“Deal.” Luke laughs against her cheek as he slides his arms fully around her waist.
Dancing with Luke for the whole night was not as torturous as she had expected it to be. They talked, at least as well as they could with the loud music. She found she got on with Luke quite well which she hadn’t expected. He was funny and sweet, his usual rugged appearance not one which matched his personality at all. When they finally decided to leave the party he offered to walk her home and she agreed. Their intertwined hands splitting apart once they were far enough away from the party to not be seen.
“It’s weird, having a fake boyfriend.” She comments, looking up to the night sky, the stars barely shining through the group of clouds overhead, “I almost like it. Like having a boyfriend but minus all the drama.”
“I thought you’d never had a boyfriend.” Luke laughs.
She shrugs and looks over to him, “From what I’ve seen with my friends I’m not sure I ever want a real one.”
“Well I’m glad I make an acceptable fake boyfriend.” Luke nudges her with his shoulder eliciting a laugh from her.
------
The following week at school was full of preparations for the dance, Y/N feeling more excited about it than she ever had before. This time she would actually be going with someone! Fake or not, it was still a lot more exciting than standing around alone for the whole night. She’d also spent the week getting to know Luke more. They were ‘dating’ after all so they had to hang out in public to make it look at all believable. He spent a lunch with her and her friends, but she didn’t blame him for hating every minute of it. Amber and Jasmine weren’t nice to her and they definitely weren’t nice to him.
She spent most of her lunches with him and his friends, having much more fun than she’d like to admit. She watched them rehearse, half of it actual rehearsing half of it messing around. She liked Luke’s friends and even started feeling a little bad about lying to them when Alex said how happy he was they were happy together. She found she got on with Reggie the best. He was silly and it was a nice change of pace to her own friends to be around someone who didn’t care what anyone thought.
She was also getting used to the physical touches, maybe too used to it. She noticed that Luke was a touchy person, he was always wrapping his arms around his friends shoulders and nudging them and that didn’t stop when it got to her. She now wasn’t sure if it was because of the fake relationship or because he really was like that with everyone. But she found she didn’t mind. She quite liked when he would hold her hand in the hallways or throw his arm over her shoulders when they were sat somewhere. She had to keep reminding herself that he only meant it in a friendly way.
Friday came around quickly and she took the day off from hanging out with like to spend time decorating with Jess, something they always helped out with for every dance.
“What colours your dress? Is Luke getting a matching tie?” Jessica asks as she helps her hang a banner from the ceiling.
Y/N was sat atop Jessica's shoulders struggling to secure the string to the ceiling, they knew they would get told off if a teacher saw them like this but neither could be bothered to go and find the ladders so they had to make do.
“I was thinking either blue or green,” She comments, her words muffled around the extra string in her mouth, “And I hadn’t even thought about ties.”
“He has to be matching! Otherwise you will look odd!” Jess complains.
She had always been way more invested in fashion than Y/N ever had, she didn’t really see the harm in Luke’s tie not matching her dress, but also knew Jess wouldn’t let it go.
“I’ll talk to him.” She mumbles out, letting out a cheer when she finally gets the banner to stick.
As she climbed down from Jessica’s shoulders she was met with a pair of blue eyes, her friend quickly slinking away behind her.
“Hey Y/N, can I talk to you for a sec?” Jason asks.
She chews on her bottom lip, silently scolding her friend for abandoning her, “Yeah, sure.” She offers a smile.
“I was just wondering if you’d want to go to the dance with me? I know it’s a little last minute but…” Jason rubs the back of his neck with his hand, sending her an awkward shrug.
“Oh! Uhm…” She pauses for a moment at a complete loss for an answer. She was supposed to be going with Luke. But that wasn’t real, whereas this could actually lead to something, she was sure Luke would understand if she cancelled with him, she knew he never usually went to dances anyway.
But as she looked up to answer her eyes landed on the figure walking down the hallway towards them, Luke shot her a smile and raised his brows at the boy in front of her and she thought about how she felt when she was with him. Fake dating or not, Luke was her friend now, and friends didn’t cancel on each other last minute.
“I’m sorry Jason, I’m already going with someone. But thanks for asking me.” She offers him her kindest smile.
“No worries, I thought it was a long shot being this late.” He shrugs again and bids her goodbye before disappearing around the corner.
“What was all that about?” Luke asks, leaning against the locker in front of her with a curious look in his eyes.
“He asked me to the dance.” She answers.
“And?” Luke prompts.
“And I said no.” She laughs.
“You did?” Luke doesn’t try to hide the grin that appeared on his face, “Why would you say no? To an actual date, instead of a fake one?”
“I don’t know.” She fiddles with the bottom of her jacket, pulling it tighter around her, “I considered it, but it didn’t feel right, I didn’t want to cancel on you.”
“Well I’m flattered.” Luke laughs, “I was actually looking for you, what colour dress are you wearing? Jess just shouted at me about ties.”
She just rolls her eyes and links her arm through Lukes to pull him down the hallway.
------
Y/N paces on her front porch as she waits for Luke to turn up, part of her dress skirt scrunched in her hand to prevent her from stepping on it and tripping over. She had never felt so nervous before. She had to keep reminding herself that this is a fake date. Luke doesn’t actually like her and she’s sure the feelings she's starting to get are just results of faking sed feelings in public.
“Why are you out here?” Luke’s voice cuts through her worrying thoughts and she turns to him with a smile.
“My mum was bugging me about pictures. I thought it was safer out here.” She laughs, biting her lower lip at the sight of Luke stood on her porch, his suit fitting his body perfectly and his tie an exact match to the green of her dress.
“You look amazing.” Luke breathes out in awe, he holds his hand out to her and she gladly accepts it and lets him lead her down the steps.
“So do you.” She replies quietly.
The ride to the school is quiet but she’s acutely aware of Luke’s eyes flickering over to her during the drive. She doesn’t comment on it but the butterflies in her stomach go wild at every glance.
“Did you help put this together?” Luke asks as they enter the hall.
The hall was decorated with blue and silver giving it a wintery feel, balloons and streamers around the outskirts and hanging from the ceiling.
She shrugs, “I guess. Jess did most of it, I just helped.”
“Well it looks great.” He compliments.
They stand in the doorway sharing a glance before looking around the room, “So, I don’t usually come to these. What do we do now? I thought people would be dancing.”
She laughs and slaps his chest lightly, “People won't be dancing till later, once the punch has been spiked.” she grins and takes hold of his hand to lead him to one of the tables around the edge of the dancefloor.
“I’ll admit, I’m surprised this is still a thing.” Jasmine comments as she sits opposite them, “Are you not bored yet?” She directs her question to Luke who shoots her a glare.
“Why would I be bored? She’s the most interesting girl I’ve ever met, she's actually real.” He comments back playing with her fingers in his.
Jasmine lets out a laugh, eyebrows raised as she lifts her drink to her lips as if she thought Luke was crazy, which she probably did.
“Where’s your date?” Luke asks.
Jasmine’s glass hits the table with a glare, “I’d rather be dateless than have whatever this is.” She points between the two before standing up and stomping off.
“Sounds like jealousy!” Luke calls after her and Y/N erupts into a fit of giggles beside him.
“I think she hates you more than she does me.” She laughs leaning into Lukes side.
The hall soon began to fill up with students, couples slowly making their way onto the dancefloor as the dance fully started. She had spotted Jessica and sent her a wave as the girl made her way to the dancefloor where she would stay for the entire night. Y/N wasn’t sure how to dance and she would take a wild guess that Luke didn’t know either, this didn’t seem like his kind of scene.
“Do you want to dance?” Luke asks as though reading her thoughts.
“You want to?” She responds.
“I can try.” He laughs and stands up motioning for her to join him, “Can’t come to a dance with an actual date and not have at least one dance.” Her cheeks heat up at the comment about it being an actual date, not sure if Luke meant it or if it was just a slip of the tongue, she didn’t point it out.
His hand finds hers as they walk to the dancefloor, finding a spot in the middle which she was thankful for, less likely people will see them there. Luke's arms wrapped around her waist and hers went around his shoulders, much like at the party except their movements were slower.
“Is this right.” He asks and she lets out a soft laugh.
“No idea, but it feels good to me.” She hesitates for a moment before leaning forward and resting her cheek against his chest.
The stay pressed together for the next two songs in a comfortable silence before she decides to break it.
“Why are people staring at us?” She asks.
Luke hadn’t noticed but looks around at her question and notices a few eyes on them, he shrugs, “Because we’re the best looking couple here?”
She laughs and slaps his arm, pulling her head away from his chest, “I’m serious! It’s making me nervous.”
Luke sighs and squeezes her waist lightly, “I have no idea. Maybe people are just surprised to see us here together.”
She considers it for a moment before finally nodding her head, “Yeah, that’s probably it.”
Luke watches her look around anxiously for another moment before he squeezes her sides again to bring her attention back to him.
“I know we haven’t been here long, but I think we’ve made our point, do you wanna get out of here?” he smiles down at her and she doesn’t have to think twice about nodding her head.
Once out of the building Y/N lets out a sigh of relief, “I didn’t realise how claustrophobic I felt in there.” She breathes out.
“Yeah, it’s tough work being surrounded by people like that.” Luke agrees, “I’d much rather hang out just us two.”
Luke drove them away from the school and to a park, the street lamps illuminating the play area which he led her to. They sat down on the swing set, both angled towards each other as they swayed back and forth slowly. They talked about anything they could think of; family, Luke’s band, memories, movies, music. They talked for what felt like hours before Luke jumped off his swing and held his hand out to her.
“What?” She asks as he leads her to a clear area.
“Well, we’re supposed to be at a dance right? So dance with me again.” He pulls her into his arms as she laughs at him.
“There’s no music.” She comments and he just shrugs.
“I was thinking,” He begins, looking around nervously as he bites his lower lip, “When you’re finished with me being your fake boyfriend, maybe you could let me take you on a real date?”
She felt her cheeks heat up a little bit and didn’t hide the smile growing on her face, “Well, maybe I’m done with you being my fake boyfriend now.”
Luke’s face lights up, his eyes finding hers again and looking a lot less nervous, “Yeah? So you wouldn’t mind if I did this then?” He asks.
He leans forward, his lips grazing across hers lightly before pulling her into a kiss. She felt like the world around her had stopped, the only thing indicating she hadn’t died and gone to heaven was the rapid beating of her heart. When he pulled away she pouted up at him.
“I only mind that you pulled away.” She replies, his smile being covered by her lips again as she pulled him close to her.
They stayed kissing and swaying in the silence until Luke finally said he should take her home. They planned their first real date for the next morning, because neither of them could wait longer than that.

Congrats on 300! Im so glad that people are recognizing your amazing writing! 🎉🎉 If you mini event isn't closed, I would like to participate. If it is, feel free to delete this ask!
My pronouns are she/her. Idrk my mbti, but I am for sure that I am enneagram type 4w5.
I am Introverted, but because of my ADHD, I prefer socializing over awkward silence. So I usually end up starting conversations even when I don't really want to. Except with guys, I'm awkward when it comes to anything that could potentially be romantic 😅 I like to think im a private person, but I end up rambling about things I didn't want to then regret it later. I am blunt, sometimes without realizing it, and have been told that I come across as rude. I really don't mean to though and I feel really bad when I realize 😭 I am a very sensitive, emotional person and a hopeless romantic (yes, I am a pretty cliche person 😅). My love language is gift giving, mostly cause I have a online shopping problem. I love finding meaning in the smallest of things and practically everything I consider a "favorite" of mine has meaning one way or another. I am really in tune with my emotions, but its hard for me to express them and I usually keep any dark emotions to myself. My dream boyfriend is someone who will listen to me without judging me and someone who accepts me for who I am.
ADHD BUDDIES YOOO
I think your pair would be Shinichiro
he's pretty chill about it
he wants to ask you out but he also doesn't want to ruin the friendship you both already have
so he tries to keep his flirting as a joke mostly
but if you do want to go out with him... he's mot complaining
he's also awkward af so you can both just pretend that you know what you're doing together
he would probably want to keep it as safe as possible
taking you to get food, since it's what you asked him to come with you first
neither of you wanted to do something too fancy, so he goes to pick you up on his bike, and takes you to get fast food
the ride there is mostly silent, except for the times he moves the bike to quickly and you whine at him, making him laugh
he thinks it's cute, you holding onto him tightly, afraid that if you let go you might fall off the bike
he tries to pay for both of your lunches, but you end up splitting it
the whole meal is filled with laughter and talking about anything and everything
even when you ramble and get off topic (if there even is one) he doesn't mind, and he just keeps going
he just wants you to be comfortable talking about anything to him
after eating you decided to go on a walk, since neither of you wanted to go back just yet
walking through the streets, just pointing out random stores and looking at whatever they sell
he suddenly tells you to wait for a second as he runs off somewhere
you stay frozen in place, confused
not long after he comes back with ice cream, talking about how cute it was and how it reminded him of you
he can't look at you in the face while he holds the ice cream for you to take
but that's fine because you're probably not looking at his face either when you take it
you find a bench to sit down and eat, and he jokes about feeding you, only to immediately blush and turn away
it's endearing, but you still wanna punch him for being so cheesy
after he drives you back home, he quickly stops you before you can enter your house
he gives you a small package before bidding you goodbye and quickly running away, leaving you confused once again
you go inside and open the small package, which contains a simple beads bracelet
you don't know it yet, but the next time you go over to his shop he'll be wearing the same one as he got you

Girlfriend v / s Bestfriend
Word count: 4245
Prompt: “Free Day” Day 7 of Digiweek 2021
Features Characters: Yamato, Mimi, Taichi, Sora, Takeru, Kari, Koshiro and Joe
A / N: I had written this a while back and thought I would post it during day 7 of free day. Hope you enjoy my attempt at this little humours fic.
Also Today is August 1st - Happy Odaiba Day
@digiweek
Summary: Yamato finds himself in between yet another argument of Taichi and Mimi, but this time Sora has a solution that just might solve the age old question or just make things more awkward for Yamato
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I hope we are not too late,” Sora commented as she, Yamato and Takeru were making their way to Taichi’s house.
“We are very late,” Yamato replied blandly.
“We would have been on time if you hadn’t taken so much time in picking out a gift for your girlfriend,” Sora shot back caustically. “besides, you asked us for our help.” she further pointed out.
“She’s right you know,” Takeru added; “who knew you would take so much time!” he muttered “in choosing a dress,” last part almost to himself.
“Yeah, whatever,” Yamato said rolling his eyes, clearly having heard what Takeru said.
“Thanks for helping though,” Yamato murmured after a bit of walking in silence. “I really want this date to be special.” And Takeru; Yamato said halting and turning towards his brother, “She better not find out about this surprise.” Yamato commanded Takeru in a playful warning tone, remembering how Takeru had a habit of confiding in her in just about anything and everything.
“My lips are sealed!” Takeru said enthusiastically. “Relax, she will love it! I’m sure, besides your anniversary is next week! He said beaming at a nervous Yamato.
Sensing Yamato still needed some assurance, Takeru added, “You got the black dress, the necklace, you booked the table at Il Ristorante - Luca Fantin,” he stopped and looked at Yamato, “You booked it right?”
“Yes, of course, a month ago” Yamato added.
“And we got the limo, I know because I booked that one, Sora’s going to give you the flowers in the morning” Takeru added counting down the list on his fingers, “We have the perfect coverup story so now,” he continued as they reached Taichi’s house “let’s just hang out with the others and not let her suspect anything.” He said beaming to a somewhat confident Yamato.
Great, poker face, Yamato thought as they rang the bell to Taichi’s door.
When they arrived at Taichi’s all 3 of them were revising their excuse as to why they turned up together and that too late. The excuse was going to be that Yamato and Takeru were held back by their mum and on the way to Taichi’s place they bumped into Sora who was going to say she came from her tennis class that was near Takeru’s place and thus they ended upcoming together.
As it turned out they didn’t really have to worry about their excuses because they could hear Taichi and Mimi arguing while they waited outside for someone to open the door.
“What’s the argument about this time?” Sora asked as Joe opened the door.
“You wouldn’t believe me even if I told you” Joe sighted back rubbing his forehead.
“Are they finally here?” Kari called out from the room.
“Yeah,” Joe shouted back.
“Tell them to come here and end this now.” they heard Koshiro say clearly sounding annoyed.
“We have been friends forever.” They could hear Taichi claim loudly at Mimi.
“So have we! and we’ve been dating for 3 years now.” Mimi shot back.
“Ha please, you’ll didn’t even talk with each other during elementary school.” Taichi declared assuming his victory.
“So what! I know things that you would never ever know,” Mimi replied back with a smirk, “I am the one that sleeps with him.”
Yamato blushed bright red overhearing this conversation as he, Takeru, and Sora entered the room.
“Are you two fighting; over who knows Yamato better?” Sora asked with amusement.
“Obviously I do!” Mimi smiled as she approached Yamato and gave him a quick kiss.
“Kissing someone doesn’t necessarily mean you know them,” Taichi said shrugging his shoulders. “I kissed Catherine a couple of times; didn’t know she already had a boyfriend.”
“That’s because all you guys did was kiss,” Sora commented back dryly.
“Touché!” Taichi smirked at the guys as Sora and Kari shook their heads.
“Anyway,” Yamato said butting in “I guess I would say, Mimi does know me better than you, sorry Taichi.”
“That’s my man,” Mimi said happily sending an air kiss in Yamato’s direction.
“Whipped” Taichi smirked as he received a glare from Yamato.
“Anyway, I know you are just saying this because you want to continue sleeping with her.” Taichi continued now rolling his eyes at Yamato. “and you know I am right, thus further proving my point that I know him better,” Taichi concluded with his hands gesturing and looking at everyone to agree with him.
As Yamato opened his mouth to argue back, “A quiz!” Sora chimed in quickly.
“I will ask both of you’ll a few questions about Yamato, and whoever answers most of them correctly is the winner.” Sora continued excitedly as Yamato, Mimi and Taichi looked at her with confusion.
“That’s a good idea but obviously Yamato will agree with Mimi and cheat,” Taichi said shooting a look at Mimi.
Before Mimi could argue back to that, “Written cards” Koshiro butted in. “Sora can ask the question, all 3 of you’ll get a card to write the answers and then everyone can reveal the answers that they wrote at the same time, so no one can cheat,” Koshiro explained.
“You can’t be serious!” Yamato said facepalming while Taichi and Mimi were giving it a serious thought.
“This is a great idea” Takeru chimed. “Although technically I am supposed to know him better than both of you’ll.” He said pointing at Mimi and Taichi, “but this way I will find out things I don’t know about you” he added with excitement.
“This is going to be so much fun” Sora smirked with gleaming eyes as she looked directly at Yamato.
“I’m sorry Yamato”, Joe added sympathetically patting Yamato on his shoulder.
While the others prepared the questions, Yamato, Taichi and Mimi waited in the other room.
“Better game up Tachikawa,” Taichi said stretching his neck, getting his game mode on.
“You’re going down Yagami,” Mimi said narrowing her eyes at Taichi.
“Oh Boy!” is all Yamato could mutter.
“Okay, we are ready,” Kari giggled as Taichi, Yamato, and Mimi entered the room.
“Please sit at your assigned seats,” Joe said, pointing to the chairs that had each of their names, a bunch of empty cards, and a marker for them to write with. “This way no one can cheat,” he said as Yamato, Mimi, and Taichi took their seats.
“Rules are simple,” Koshiro continued, “Sora will host, asking you’ll questions about Yamato, you get 10 seconds to write your answers on the cards and when asked you will reveal what you have written after which Yamato reveals his answer, Kari keeps score, and we can see which one of you’ll knows Yamato best.” He finished taking his seat near Joe and Takeru as Sora stood in front of the three participants.
“Welcome to the game of Girlfriend v/s Best friend; a game where Mimi, the girlfriend, and Taichi, the best friend or is it the other way around?” Sora spoke commanding everyone’s attention as she began the game joyfully in her best host voice.
“Anyway, where both will try and answer some questions about Yamato. The person with the most correct answers wins the game and proves to the other that they do indeed know Yamato better.” She continued gleefully.
“Okay, let’s do this!” Mimi said with a determined look on her face.
“Bring it on!” Taichi answered equally determinedly.
“You all are enjoying this way too much,” Yamato said annoyed.
“You have no idea,” Sora replied giggling.
“Starting off with an easy Question, Question 1 for girlfriend vs best friend is What colour M&Ms are Yamato’s favourite?” Sora asked grinning at the three.
As soon as Sora finished asking the question Mimi, Taichi, and Yamato quickly wrote down their answers as Koshiro timed them.
And “Mimi” Sora said pointing at Mimi as Koshiro gave her the nod indicating the time was up.
Blue – Mimi’s card read. “He always snatches up the blue ones while I go for the red ones.” She said smiling broadly.
Blue – Taichi’s card also read “this is too easy.” He said lazily.
“And now for the reveal, Yamato?” Sora asked turning to Yamato.
Yamato sighed and held up his card, where it was written Blue, “remind me why I agreed to this again?” he asked in a defeated tone.
“Because it’s fun and we get to take your case,” Sora said with a bright smile. “Also, I get my revenge on you for dragging me through 20 different shops” She added the last part softly to Yamato while Mimi and Taichi were busy taunting each other. “A point to both Mimi and Taichi She concluded loudly pointing at Kari who giving a thumbs up and wrote down the score on the board.
“After an easy start moving on to Question 2!” Sora continued with the same enthusiasm; What is Yamato’s favourite food?”
As before all 3 of them wrote down the answer as soon as Sora asked the question and Koshiro began his timer. With a nod from Koshiro, Sora asked Taichi and Mimi to reveal their answers.
Pizza – Taichi’s card read. “obviously” he muttered while showing his card.
Onigiri/Mochi – Mimi’s card read “I know this because I cook for him.” She answered giving Yamato a sweet but dangerous look indicating his answer better be this.
Onigiri – Yamato’s card read. “I like pizza and mochi as well,” Yamato said looking at Taichi apologetically, while Mimi gave him one of her widest smiles.
“Oo bad luck Taichi, looks like Yamato’s favourite food is Onigiri.” Sora concluded in her host voice. “and that’s a point to Mimi." She said pointing at Kari who put another point up for Mimi.
“Whose favourite food is not Pizza!” Taichi said out loud and annoyed as he threw his answer card down.
“We all like pizza but you have an unhealthy obsession with it Taichi,” Kari said sighing. “Seriously I once saw him finish 2 large pizza’s in 1 go,” she added looking at the group.
“Hey, those pizzas were to die for,” Taichi said defending his love for pizza.
“Oh, is it the place you insisted we go for my birthday?” Koshiro asked. “Oh yeah, those pizzas were really good” he agreed, much to Taichi’s delight.
“The very same” Taichi answered happy that Koshiro was there to back him up.
“Which reminds me, we should order some food for later,” Joe said taking out his phone to place an order. “Any suggestions?” he asked looking around.
“Pizza” Taichi answered before anyone else could. “And Yamato my Pizza is on you for not answering pizza.”
“And mine too” Mimi added. I agree with Taichi on this, she giggled much to Taichi’s delight.
“Wait, What! But Onigiri? Fine!.” Yamato said just throwing his hands up and giving up.
“Hey, I am the host, my Pizza is on you as well,” Sora added to the mix.
“I keep the score” Kari chimed in.
“and I time you guys,” Koshiro added.
“and I am your brother,” Takeru said giving his best puppy dog face.
“you guys torture me like this and expect the pizza to be on me?” “Some friends you are!” Yamato started protesting.
“Pizza is on me and Yamato,” Joe said giving Yamato an apologetic look as Yamato put his hands on his face in annoyance.
“As Joe orders the Pizza, we move on to Question 3, What is Yamato’s preferred pizza topping?” Sora continued in her host mode.
“Was that question on the list?” Koshiro asked giving Sora a confused look.
“Well, I just thought of it” she added. “come on guys it’s a relevant question!”
Alright, muttered the three as they wrote down their answers.
“And for the reveal,” Sora said pointing towards her best friend, “Mimi”
Double Cheese – Mimi’s card read. “Yamato really loves cheese”
Double Cheese – Taichi’s card read as well; “you better not answer anything else, our friendship is literally at stake now” Taichi said dramatically.
Double Cheese – Yamato’s card read, “you know it” Yamato exclaimed as Taichi grinned chanting, “Our friendship is saved.”
“Mimi leading by a point, we move on to Question 4,” Sora said laughing at the exchange. “Which is Yamato’s favourite band?”
“And answers,” she said as she got the nod from Koshiro.
Mimi and Taichi held up their cards at the same time
Nirvana – Mimi’s card read, “Yamato absolutely loves them, he also likes Linkin Park though.”
Nirvana – Taichi’s card also read. “Yeah, I remember this from elementary school.” He said shooting a look at Mimi.
Nirvana – Yamato’s card also read. “I think everyone knows this.”
“Apparently they do, adding a point each to Mimi and Taichi.” Sora concluded.
“For Question 5” Sora continued; “Which sport does Yamato least suck at?”
“Thanks for putting it that way,” Yamato said rolling his eyes at Sora.
“My pleasure, and Mimi?” Sora smirked, clearly enjoying her role as the hostess.
Basketball – Mimi’s card read “He loses against Takeru every time,” she said earning a grin from Takeru and a very annoyed “hey” from Yamato.
“Taichi?”
Basketball – Taichi’s card also read. “He really sucks at soccer.” Earning a further “hey!” from Yamato.
“I can beat every one of your asses in Basketball,” Yamato stated as he showed his card that read Basketball.
“and yet somehow you always lose to me”
“Shut up Takeru.” Yamato glared at Takeru as everyone laughed.
“Moving on to Question 6,” Sora continued. “What is Yamato’s favourite guilt trip series to binge?”
Doctor who – Taichi’s card read when Sora called out his name to reveal his answer. “I don’t know why but he loves that show.”
Glee – Mimi’s card read next.
“Mimi that’s your favourite guilt trip series, not mine” Yamato said, showing his card that read – Doctor who.
“but you always watch glee with me” Mimi pouted.
“yes, because you enjoy it, I watch it with you,” Yamato said smiling at her, at which she further pouted.
“Looks like Taichi knows Yamato’s Tv preference here better than Mimi” Sora concluded. “With a point to Taichi, he is now caught up with Mimi.”
“And for Question 7,” Sora continued in her best hostess impression. “If Yamato could have anyone’s superpowers from the Avengers team, who’s powers would he want to have?”
“Great question!” Kari said looking at Koshiro, who had suggested the question. Blushing at Kari’s comment, Koshiro nodded to Sora as the time ended.
“Mimi? Your answer please” Sora asked her friend.
Captain America – Mimi’s card read as she looked at Yamato with a dreamy expression.
“Oo Captain America, that would be a hot choice,” Sora giggled. “Taichi?”
Iron Man – Taichi’s card read. “Please, Yamato is more like Tony Stark, also he’s the coolest.
Thor – Yamato’s card read. As everyone gave him a bland expression. “What?” he added.
“Seriously? I thought you like Captain America, you have a keychain of his shield” Mimi squealed, somehow offended, “also he’s the hottest! and you definitely have the Ass, perhaps not America’s but definitely Japan’s Ass.” Mimi added winking to a very red Yamato.
“Hmm I don’t know, maybe; Yamato, give us a twirl now, will you?” Taichi said trying to check out Yamato.
“And deleting that image from my mind,” Takeru said making a face at Yamato.
“Yeah, but I would prefer Thor’s powers, I could fly and manipulate thunder and also not to mention I would be a God.” Yamato tried defending his answer.
“Okay, no points for anyone, looks like you guys need to buck up your game, if you wanna win who knows Japan’s Ass better,” Sora concluded laughing.
“Shudd up.” Is all Yamato could say red in his face as everyone laughed.
“Moving on to DC, Question 8!” Sora continued as the laughter died down. “Who is Yamato’s all-time favourite DC character?”
“I actually like DC more than Marvel” Takeru added to the room.
“Nah aa, marvel all the way” Kari shot back at Takeru. “They have better movies”
“Please, who can compete against Batman?” Takeru chimed in.
“Have you read any of the comics?” Koshiro asked them both.
“some” Takeru mumbled while Kari shook her head.
“And before this gets into a Marvel vs Dc or TV vs Comics, answers please!” Sora slipped in halting that discussion.
Batman – Taichi’s card read. “obviously”
Nightwing – Mimi’s card read. “This time it’s definitely the butt," she added with a squeal.
Nightwing – Yamato’s card read. “It's not because of the ass” Yamato added to a gleaming Mimi.
“Okay, seriously Yamato, you have got to give us a twirl!” Taichi exclaimed.
All Yamato could do was glare at Taichi as the girls giggled and the boys laughed.
“We are just getting started on to the good questions” Sora added cheekily as the laughter subsided. “Moving on to the next question! Question 9” “What age did Yamato have his first kiss?”
Yamato and Mimi both blushed hiding their faces behind their cards as they wrote the answer.
“And Mimi?” Sora asked
13 – Mimi’s card read
16 – Taichi’s card read. “He was a late bloomer” Taichi teased
13 – Yamato’s card read as he held it up to cover his face.
“13? Really? Who?” Sora asked surprised, asking the question that was on everyone’s mind as Yamato was extremely closed off as a person that time.
“Mimi,” Yamato answered slowly “the day she was leaving for the states”
“But you guys weren’t together that time,” Koshiro asked. “or were you already secretly dating”
“Well, it was unexpected for me as well, I mean I did have a crush on him that time but didn’t think he had, so imagine my surprise when I went to tell him goodbye, he kissed me.” Mimi smiled at the memory, “And he’s really improved a lot since then in that department” she added in a teasing tone.
“I knew I saw the two of you kiss, you told me I was seeing things,” Takeru exclaimed at Yamato.
“I didn’t really want anyone to know,” Yamato said apologetically to Takeru.
“Those mood swings make so much more sense now” Takeru added laughing.
“Okay, moving on” Yamato gestured to a smiling Sora.
“This game is just getting started,” Sora said amused at Yamato’s embarrassment.
“I am going to kill all of you,” Yamato replied pointing towards Sora and the other spectators.
“Kari, would you tell us the score please,” Sora said sticking out her tongue at Yamato.
“Taichi needs to game up, as Mimi is leading by 2 points.” Kari added with a giggle.
“Revealing more secrets of the lone wolf, moving on to Question 10” Sora smiled “What is Yamato’s favourite alcoholic beverage?
Even before sora could ask for an answer,
Beer – Taichi’s card read. “phh please” he added with an air of confidence.
Old Fashioned – Mimi’s card read. Please, Yamato likes his classic gentleman’s whiskey drink”
Old Fashioned – Yamato’s card read.
“What old fashion? Are you kidding me!!!! We always drink beer together” Taichi bellowed.
“But I like a good whiskey, bourbon, or scotch.” Yamato tried to defend himself.
“And you don’t like the beers we drink together?” Taichi asked absolutely furious.
“Yeah, of course I like beers but that’s not my favourite alcoholic beverage Taichi” Mat tried to explain.
“oh! So now beer isn’t sophisticated enough for you! First, you turn your back on Pizza and now Beer!” Taichi crossed his arms absolutely fuming.
“Taichi” Yamato tried to continue.
“Next boys’ night you get your own fancy-ass drink” Taichi pouted cutting Yamato off “Sora, next Question”
“Taichi” Yamato tried again.
“Next Question Sora”
Giving Yamato an apologetic look, Sora continued “Moving on to Question 11, What is Yamato the most afraid of?”
Ghosts – Taichi’s card red. “Remember the time when me, Takeru, and Mimi pranked Yamato” Taichi said laughing at the memory as they had spooked Yamato quite badly.
Ghosts – Mimi showed her card, smiling at the memory.
Ghosts – Yamato’s card read as well, cursing Takeru for revealing his secret.
“With Mimi still in the lead, Question 12” Sora continued with a knowing smirk towards Yamato. “Which celebrity is on Yamato’s list? Basically, which celebrity does Yamato wish to sleep with?” she further clarified.
Mariya Nishiuchi – Taichi held up his card excitedly
Merei Kiritani – Mimi held up her card with a stoic expression.
Mariya Nishiuchi – Yamato held his card, looking anywhere except at Mimi.
“oo she is pretty” Joe let slip to everyone’s amusement.
“Didn’t she come for one of your shows?” Takeru asked with an innocent curious look, while Mimi looked surprised, and Yamato tried to signal him to shut up.
“I don’t know what you are talking about” Yamato dismissed Takeru.
“Hang on!” Mimi added looking at Yamato now. “When was this? And how do I not know about this?”
“She came backstage as well” Takeru added. “I remember it was when you were in New York for your work visit,” Takeru said looking at Mimi.
“Mimi, I swear, nothing happened. She came to meet the band and that was it, I walked out of my dressing room when she came in”
“Okay this even I didn’t know,” Takeru said amused. “I just remember she came backstage to tell you guys she really enjoyed the show.”
“Are you telling me, you had the opportunity and you chickened out?” Taichi roared with laughter.
“Excuse me?” Mimi said tartly to Taichi.
“I didn’t chicken out Taichi, I didn’t want anything to do with her.” Yamato replied just as tartly.
“Not what you said when we were watching ..” Taichi continued in a teasing tone
“Shut up Taichi” Yamato cut Taichi off. “Mimi, babe, its not ..”
“We shall talk about this later,” Mimi said narrowing her eyes.
“Is this over yet?” Yamato asked to the room where the others were just giggling at his misery.
“no no, I want to see what else I don’t know about you.” Mimi replied in a teasing manner.
“Is it lets torture Yamato Day, today?” Yamato asked rhetorically.
“Mimi,” Joe asked cautiously, still not convinced of her mood, to which the ever bubbly girl just smiled and winked. Satisfied that Yamato won’t be in much trouble, Joe cleared his throat, “I think we have 3 more questions” to which Sora and Koshiro nodded.
The bell rung indicating the pizza was here. Joe and Yamato went to get the pizzas and pay for them, with Yamato insisting to pay for the whole thing and Joe politely but sternly telling him that they can split it amongst both of them.
Handing everyone their food and beverages, as Yamato and Joe got back in their place, Sora continued the game.
“To continue on to Yamato’s torture, Question 13,” she asked, “What type of porn category does Yamato like?” in a very serious and calm voice.
Joe almost choked on his drink while Koshiro spat out his drink, as the remaining two roared with laughter.
“Taichi?” Sora asked barely able to contain her laugh,
Cheerleader – Taichi’s card read. “I remember the time when he used to fantasize about Mimi in her cheerleading outfit all the time. I don’t think he’s gotten over that.” Taichi said raising his eyebrows cheekily at Yamato and Mimi.
Threesome – Mimi’s card read. “Really? You used to fantasize about me back then?” she asked amused. “And here I thought you were dropping hints for a 3way.”
Cheerleader – Yamato’s card read. “That wasn’t a hint, Mimi. I told you it was a misunderstanding.” He said blushing furiously than he ever had.
“Shame,” Mimi said casually checking her nails, “I might have been game.” She added with a wink towards him.
Taichi nearly fell off his chair, while Koshiro did fall off his chair, his mouth open with shock.
“You lucky lucky son of a gun,” Taichi added to a blushing Yamato, with a slight hint of jealousy in his voice.
“Misunderstanding?” Sora asked trying to fish for the story, while Kari just laughed and Joe looked down embarrassed.
“Okay, too much information for me,” Takeru said clearing her throat. “Next question please,” he said gesturing towards Sora.
“So having that opportunity taken away from him, moving on to Question 14.” Sora continued still between her laughs. “What is Yamato’s safe word?”
Sora wiped the tears rolling down her cheeks and gestured for all of them to reveal their answers.
Orangutan – Taichi’s card read.
Orangutan – Mimi’s card also read.
Orangutan – Yamato’s card read as well.
Seeing the shocked look on everyone’s face, Mimi looked over to Taichi’s card and in a very loud pitch voice, almost shouting exclaimed, “What!!”
“What! No way, What! How do you even know that?” Mimi bellowed.
“Are you fucking kidding me right now?” Taichi laughed falling off his chair, as Yamato just stared at Taichi with total shock. “Dude we really are soulmates.” Taichi managed to say between laughs as he struggled to get off the floor.
“I’m done, you know what I am done. All the other questions are irrelevant now” Mimi dropped her cards, got up, and walked out the room.
“Mimi come back,” Taichi tried calling behind her. “Princess,” he called after her as he got up and ran behind her still laughing his head off at the coincidence.
Yamato just shook his head, covering his face with his hands, as the rest of the people in the room erupted in laughter that went on for quite a while.

the promise of happiness
Pairing: Bryce Lahela x F!MC (Alessia Lyxienne)
Book: Open Heart
Rating: G , TW: mentions of surgery.
Prompts by @choicesjunechallenge2021 Day 1 – plot twist
Summary: Alessia's ex is in town, and its quite a reunion. <3
A/N: hiii, so I decided to participate in the challenge and well, write lots of Bryce before we have to say goodbye to him soon. So, this is kinda (hopefully) become a writing spree for me - like a Bryce appreciation-ish of my own. I have some plans already - and, I can't wait to share them! Also, a huge shoutout to @appiomofchoice for a lot of her help on this fic and the upcoming ones! Enjoy! (also, I will start to use a new mc name! however, she is who casey is but, with a new name instead hehe) // i dont own any characters except mc and brian lewis. (and, i apologize for grammar errors and any errors in this story)
-
It was supposed to be a normal day, however, the gasped that escaped her signals that the day is going to be an adventure. As she stood beside Bryce, both of them were facing a familiar face who she knows all too well. Brian Lewis, the Brian Lewis. The knowing smirk on his face as his gaze falls onto her brings back all the memories during her time at med school before.
He was a senior, a few years older than her. As they started to get to know one another through a mentoring session with Dr. Lisbon in her anatomy class. They started to go out in a matter of months, as their study sessions become quite intimate in the past – before, breaking up as Brian left for an opportunity to continue his residency in London. They were on good terms, and seeing him again in front of her brought back old memories.
“Dr. Lyxienne, are we clear?” The sound of Harper’s voice pulled her out of a trance, as she was pulled back into reality.
“I’m sorry, would you repeat that once more?”
Harper nods, before introducing him to her – as Bryce raised an eyebrow at the man.
“This is Dr. Brian Lewis from John Hopkins – and, he will assist us in one of the diagnostics team cases.” Brian takes his hand out towards her as Bryce took it before Alessia could do anything.
“Nice to meet you, Dr. Lewis, I’m Dr. Bryce Lahela and this is…”
“The Dr. Lyxienne of course! How have you been Alessia?” He said with a huge smile on his face, as Alessia froze, not knowing or mentally preparing herself where her boyfriend met his ex.
“I’m doing fine, thank you, Dr. Lewis.” The formality makes him take a step back as the atmosphere around them becomes awkward.
“Well, Dr. Lewis – we will see you at the diagnostics office soon. It’s nice to meet you.” Harper shook his arm again, with a smile before leaving the room.
The three of them stood awkwardly, before Alessia’s pagers started to beep – as she quickly runs away from the scene any further.
The two men stood quietly before Bryce left the room as well – leaving a sighing Brian in the office.
-
Bryce’s pager started to vibrate, as he was called into the diagnostics office as he finished with an appendectomy. With a satisfied smile on his face, he was met with a full office – consists of Dr. Emery, Dr. Ramsey, Alessia, Dr. Carrick, and Brian who are discussing their new case.
“Bryce, welcome. Dr. Lewis, this is one of our top surgeons in our department– Dr. Bryce Lahela.” Harper stated before Bryce taking a seat beside Alessia who looks nervous upon the encounter.
“It's good to see you again Dr. Lahela.” His voice was rough with a hint of softness in it.
Bryce nods before he was passed with a copy of the case itself.
“Based on the check-up we did, we found that the patient has suffered from spinal osteomyelitis. It is known as an infection of the vertebrae – it is a rare case, however still dangerous overall.” His presence is commanding as the others listen to it intently.
“How dangerous is it?” Alessia’s voice can be heard as all eyes fall on her.
Brian smiles, as he explains.
“Infections on the spine can be extremely dangerous along with the surgery on that are can be risky with the probability that may lead to a case of paralysis or even more infection.”
She nods intently, as the room went quiet once more.
“When will the surgery be performed? I’m guessing the sooner, the better right?” Tobias adds along with the conversation.
“I suspect we kept her in for a couple of days, to make some additional check-ups. But, if a timeline was needed – definitely as soon as we could.” He concludes before taking a seat.
After a while of discussion – the team was dispersed.
“Dr. Emery, I have to ask why was I picked by Dr. Lewis for the surgery?”
“Dr. Tanaka recommended your name and he wanted to take you in this round. I have to go now for a meeting, but – if you have any questions, Dr. Lewis can answer it for you about the surgery.” He nods as Harper was out of his sight.
-
Alessia sits on her own, as the dish in front of her remains uneaten due to the textbooks on the table. She was quite occupied with the text in front of her without realizing she had some company awaits her.
Her gaze falls onto the familiar gray eyes looking at her – with the familiar smile since before. Brian was sitting opposite her.
“Yes, Dr. Lewis, what do you need?”
“It’s me Alessia, can we talk – why are you avoiding me?” His voice somewhat remains strong, as Alessia tries to avoid the question.
“I…don’t know. It's weird seeing you again after all these years.” She begins her argument, as Brian nods in understanding.
“I can quite say the same, you look as beautiful as years ago.” He compliments her, as she smiles and lets out a chuckle.
“Thank you. I gotta say – you look as good as you did years ago. But, why Edenbrook, what are you doing here even?” Alessia shuts the textbook, as she looked him in the eyes.
“Dr. Emery was a colleague of mine before, and she requested me to come by for the surgery. I didn’t expect you’d be here.” His gaze falls down upon his hands.
She nods, not knowing how to reply as the silence follows for a moment.
“I know it's an unexpected encounter. It might be weird seeing your ex after all these years, but…I am glad that I got to see you again Alessia.” He says with a smile on his face, the genuine expression she knew all too well from years ago.
Before she could reply, she saw Bryce making his way to her. She smiles at him, as Brian follows her gaze meeting his eyes. He waved at him, before glancing his way back to her. The wide smile on her face still presents on her face, as Bryce took a seat beside them.
“Dr. Lewis, Alessia.” He greeted them both, as Brian's gaze fall onto them both. How comfortable they looked together before he excuses himself from the table.
“I’ll see you in surgery Dr. Lahela, and Alessia.” He smiles before leaving the cafeteria.
-
Bryce’s gaze follows his trail until he left the cafeteria.
“So, I think I have been out of the loop as your boyfriend – but, who is he?” His eyebrows were raised at Brian’s empty seat.
She lets out a small chuckle,
“He is…my -ex in med school actually.” She lets the truth set free, as Bryce looks at her in awe actually.
“Well, you certainly had upgraded.” He jokes as a wink followed before she elbows him playfully.
“Very funny Bryce.” She says before opening her textbook again.
She feels his eyes on him, as she glances his way. He somehow looked nervous suddenly.
“How do you feel when you see him again?”
She thought about it,
“It feels like nostalgic, yet – the story between us has ended years ago. You don’t have to worry alright.” She winks at him, as Bryce lets out a mock laugh – as a response.
“I’m not worried! Never, nope.”
“Whatever you say, Bryce.” She said before leaning in for a kiss, as they continue to spend the remaining time together studying about the upcoming surgery.
-
It was days later, as Bryce preps for the surgery alongside Brian. The OR was quiet, as they were the only ones there. A few seconds later, the surgical assistant arrives alongside the on-lookers consists of other surgeons.
He took a deep breath before they began the procedure, the gallery above them was filled with doctors – as Bryce could recognize a few to name. Dr. Emery and Dr. Tanaka are whispering subtlely, Dr. Ramsey alongside Dr. Carrick and even Dr. Banerji are there. As his gaze moved towards the left, he was shocked to see Alessia sitting by the end of the gallery – as she waves his way. He smiles, before resuming his role alongside Brian.
The clock was ticking slowly, as he observes Brian’s work and was impressed by his handiwork. They switched tasks in between the surgery – and he felt alive at that moment.
“Dr. Lahela, pass me the lancet.” Bryce nods as one of the nurses passes it his way.
Brian was focused on his work before he blurted a question in the middle of the surgery itself.
“So, you are the boyfriend I assume.” His voice is low as Bryce look at him with wide eyes.
He nods, as Brian continues on the surgery with such ease in his work.
“How long have you been together?”
“We just made it official, but…almost three years.” He says proudly behind his surgical mask.
There was a pause in between before he says.
“Years ago, I knew that smile on her face – along with the look in her eyes, she really does loves you. And, when Alessia loves someone - she will go over mountains for you.” He said suddenly – as it felt like a promise for him.
Bryce nods and smiles to himself, remembering the moments they had gone through together.
“I know.” I will, an unspoken promise was said between the quiet atmosphere of the OR. As, a smile was visible on Brian's face - somehow he got the message.
As the procedure goes on, a couple of hours had passed – they survived the procedure after a couple roadblocks along the way. The patient has the last resort on the surgery – Bryce took the lead to amputate the affected limb to stop the infection from spreading further. And, at that note – the surgery was over.
They cleaned up from their dirty scrubs as the night has grown late for them both.
“Dr. Lahela – you did an exceptional job today.”
He smiles, feeling the glowing pride in himself.
“Thank you for giving me the chance to join in the surgery, Dr. Lewis.” He replies as Brian nods before they both started to go on separate ways.
-
It’s the day after the surgery, as Alessia stumbles upon Brian who is hugging Dr. Emery – somewhat as a gesture of farewell. As they went their separate ways, his eyes met with hers – a smile on his face.
“Hey.” He begins to conversation.
“Hi, leaving already?”
“Yeah, unfortunately, I have an emergency meeting with the head of surgery at John Hopkins in a few hours.” He explains as she nods in understanding.
“Well, it's good to see you again which is… very weird to say.” She lets out a laugh as Brian lets out a chuckle.
“It's good to see you too. It's been years, and I’m glad to see you thriving here Alessia.” He smiles as they hugged.
“Thanks to your pop-quizzes on anatomy that's what keeping me here.” She winks at the joke, as they let go of the hug.
“Well, I’m glad I could play a part in the memoir of Dr. Alessia Lyxienne then.”
She nods, as he checks on the time.
“I have to leave before the traffic gets insane – but, say ‘hi’ to Bryce for me? And, if he ever hurts you – just know I’ll be ready to kick his ass for you.”
“No need, I think he’ll make me happy.” She said wistfully, as Brian smiles even wider.
“Don’t forget to invite me to the wedding then.” He winks before leaving the hospital grounds.
He stopped in his tracks, as he gazes back at where he was before. Bryce and Alessia were seen happily smiling together, he smiles – feeling happy for them both.
-
At that moment, Bryce’s eyes met with his as he waves to him. Brian waves back, as in a second – he was gone out of their sight.
“He said ‘hi’ by the way.”
Bryce nods, as he remembers the words during the surgery – it felt like a promise for him to make her happy. He smiles, as he will keep that promise and make Alessia the happiest woman in the world with him.
THE END.

Body
Part 1 of 2
Part 2
Masterlist
Gender: Female
Pairing: Peter Parker x reader
Warning: None
Anon requested- can I get a one shot where the reader does the body positivity trend with the new megan thee stallion song and the reader is insecure about how ppl will react to it?? Most importantly how peter will react to it?? K thanks
Awww I love doing smol readers and where Peter's actually the one that has it together lol sooo thanx for this
The TikTok is that new body positivity trend with that Megan Thee Stallion song. Couldn't link it because tumblr acts weird about links but part 2 will have a video for Peter. Also reader will be 18 (senior in high school) cuz some people think minors shouldn't participate in the trend lol
A/N: Either a motivation fairy hit me in the middle of the night or I'm really just that bored to the point where I had no choice but to get my motivation to write back. Either way I'm happy lol. Enjoy! Thanks to @yumings and @kelieah for helping me feel confident in this lol
Will definitely be a two parter🙂
---------------------------------------
Body oddy oddy oddy oddy oddy oddy oddy-
You'd finally finished editing the video.
It was a simple, short collage of all of your favorite selfies and pictures that showed off your body well. There was a new trend going around on TikTok and when you saw it you just had to jump at it headfirst.
People would take their favorite pictures of themselves, ones that showed off their bodies just the way they liked, and they'd put it to the sound of Megan Thee Stallion's song "Body".
You looked through your entire phone gallery to find pictures that you were confident enough to post, some you'd forgotten you even took in the first place.
When you were done, you threw in the simple caption that everyone was using.
Heard we're using this sound to show off. My turn then😜
Yeahhhhhh, the caption sounded much more confident than you actually felt.
You actually thought about deleting it from the minute you posted it. Insecure wasn't even the word for it. And even with your followers there to hype you up, you couldn't help but feel self-conscious. So, albeit hesitantly, you went to your friends for support.
The first person you showed was Michelle.
"You killed that," she said in math class as she passed you the phone underneath the table so that the professor wouldn't see.
"Thanks," you said. "I was honestly kinda nervous about it." You noticed her incredulous look and explained yourself, toying with the loose strings on your jacket. "Like seriously, I don't wanna fish for compliments, it's just that there are so many better ones out there."
Michelle gave a lopsided grin. "That's just you being insecure, you dork," she retorted. "You look hot." She gave an uninterested glare at the teacher when they told her to be quiet. Then she turned towards you with a smile. "You shown Peter yet? I bet he'd agree."
You shifted in your seat nervously and MJ immediately caught on. "What, you don't wanna show him?" She gave you a look when you took a while to answer. "Dude he's literally your boyfriend. I'm pretty sure he'll like it."
"MJ, we haven't even-" you looked around secretively. "-we haven't even taken our shirts off in front of each other yet. There's literally a pic of me in my sports bra and I.." You shrugged, a little embarrassed by the conversation topic. "I-i just don't know how he'd react."
You and Peter were a fairly new couple and were taking it slow. You'd only ever kissed, cuddled, and held hands so far. Plus, you were a major causal clothes wearer. Sweatshirts and jeans, those were your specialty. The two of you were in no rush and you were both fine with that, but you had no idea how he would react to seeing pictures of you like that.
And, though it wasn't the most feminist approach, you kinda wanted to impress him. Was that so bad?
MJ, forever the voice of patronizing reason, rolled her eyes at you. "So, let me get this straight. You're not fine with your boyfriend seeing sexy pictures of you, but you're okay with literal strangers seeing you instead?"
"Look, I know it's-"
"No, no I totally get it," she said with a sympathetic smirk, before laughing. "I just wanted to show you how dumb it sounded though."
The bell rang, signaling the end of class.
"Look," she said, standing up and getting her things. "You have nothing to be worried about. Peter practically worships the ground you walk on. He'll love it."
When you showed Ned, he genuinely didn't give a shit.
"Oh my God, there's a new Megan Thee Stallion album?!"
"Uh, yeah."
"I have to listen to it right now!"
"Yeah okay, but do you like the-"
He was already plugging in his headphones before you even finished your sentence.
You showed Harry next. If anyone was gonna rate you unabashedly, it'd definitely be him.
He was the only friend you had in your lunch period, so you met up with him every day. Towards the end of lunch that day, you'll pulled out your phone and asked if he wanted to see the video. He enthusiastically agreed.
He watched the short video with an amused expression, bopping his head to the music all the while.
When it ended, he handed you your phone back and gave you a high-five. "Damn girl!," he praised. "Just throwing it out there, if Peter fails you, I'm hella available."
"Heh, thanks." You smiled as you felt your entire face heat up. "Ya think he'll like it?"
"What, you haven't shown him yet?" You shook her head, giving a nervous smile. "Oh-" he nodded confidently. "-he'll love it. Trust me."
"Are you sure?," you asked.
"Yeah," he responded with a shrug. "Why are you so worried?"
"Because he's not-..he doesn't really seem-" You couldn't find the right words for it. "I dunno, I just really want him to like it!"
Harry scoffed. "Look. Let me tell you a little secret about Peter Parker," he snickered. "Or practically all guys for that matter."
"Okay?," you said, curious as to where this was going.
He smirked. "You remember when he introduced himself to you at my party last summer?"
You nodded.
"Well, hon..." Harry lowered his head to where he was whispering in your ear. "Your personality wasn't what he was noticing from across the room.. catch my drift?" He chuckled when he saw you blushing as you caught where his eyes had wandered. "Just sayin'."
Seeing your incredulous expression, Harry continued. "Peter likes to act like he's not checking you out every second of the day, but I promise you he is. That little "I'm so respectful and bashful" crap he has going is complete B.S."
You smirked and rolled your eyes as he pulled away from your ear and kept walking. "You're an ass."
Harry shrugged. "True, but I'm a realistic ass." The alarm on his phone sounded which marked his time to start heading to his next class. Standing up, he smiled down at you. "Seriously, if I could take back all the time spent listening to Pete go on about how good you look in your jeans, I'd be one well rested guy."
You rolled your eyes, but it betrayed the small smile growing. After all, he wouldn't be Harry if he wasn't a flirtatious dweeb. "Bye Harry."
"Show him the video, [Y/N]. He'll love it. You know I'm right."
And then there was one...
Later in the day, you were talking with MJ after school, waiting because Peter always insisted on driving you home because chivalry was not going to die as long as he was alive to keep it going.
When he finally showed up, the first thing he did was take you by the hand and give you a quick peck on the forehead.
"How are you guys doing?," he asked as your little trio started to walk.
"We're good," you chirped, ever so conscious of the phone in your pocket that you were suddenly very hesitant to pull out.
MJ noticed and nudged you. "You got anything you wanna show anybody, [Y/N]?," she asked with a smirk, causing Peter to look at you curiously.
You stayed quiet, but MJ still wasn't putting up with it. "I think you may have a video that you made..."
You remained silent and Peter looked at you, a lot more confused now. MJ frowned. "Um... cough.. cough."
Peter laughed and stopped walking. "Okay, what am I missing?" He looked to you and when he didn't see your expression falter, he looked to MJ. "What's going on?"
Michelle shrugged. "[Y/N] wants to show you a dumb TikTok she made but she's scared about how you'll react."
"Michelle!," you scolded.
She shrugged again. "What? You weren't going to say anything anytime soon."
"A TikTok?," Peter questioned. "Cool, which one did you do this time?"
You could feel your face heat up for the hundredth time that day. "It's a...um.." You stared down at the ground. Jesus, this was hard. "..It's a body positivity trend."
His eyebrows went up at that. "Oh, well um.. is it cool if I see it?," he asked.
You blushed. "Sure." You pulled out your phone and opened the app. When you got to the video you quickly shoved it into his face before you had a chance to second-guess yourself.
Both you and Michelle watched Peter's face as he watched the video.
His cheeks immediately turned red but his expression was unreadable. He had to have watched it over 5 times before MJ pulled the phone out of his hand. "Helloooo, earth to Peter Parker?"
She snapped into his face several times and he started to blink wildly, apparently being pulled out of a trance. "I...um- heh.."
You gave a small, nervous smile. "..did you like it?," you asked, growing confused as stared at you, his expression still the same. "Um, Peter?"
Suddenly, he smiled and let out a little chuckle. "Sorry... just..." He laughed again and scratched his head, unable to keep eye contact. "You're just- like.... really hot."
You blushed. Fuck. "You're not just saying that are you?"
"No, really like-" He looked back at the phone. "...Damn." He bit his lip. "How on earth did I get so lucky?"
"Okay, can we please get in the car before I throw up?"
The two of you looked at an uncomfortable MJ with embarrassment riddled on your faces. "Yeah, totally," you said with an awkward cough. "Sorry."
"Nice video [Y/N]," Peter murmured bashfully, opening the door of his car for you, his face still beet red. "Really nice..."

Some People Wrap Their Lies Around a Cocktail Glass | Damian Wayne
I Got It
✦ pairing — older!Damian Wayne x female!Plus Size Reader
✦ word count — 3.5k
✦ fake dating AU
✦ summary — you need to cover up the fact that your boyfriend broke up with you a week before your step-father’s Christmas party, and Damian needs a date for his father’s New Year’s ball. Both of you are experts at pretending, what could go wrong?
✦ warnings — some angst, mentions of alcohol, drama, some fluff.
✦ mini series masterlist
════════════════════════
You slept well for somebody who had been so worried and anxious the evening before. But you should have known it wasn’t a good sign.
The moment you checked your phone, you realized you would have an even worse day than you had anticipated.
Your notifications were filled with texts from Travis.
are you up?
i’ll take that as a no
can we talk in the morning then?
please text me when you see this
You locked your phone again and left it on the bedside table. You didn’t have time for this, you needed to follow your skincare routine and relax.
Oh, relaxing, what a foreign thing to you. Not even the best days of your life had been entirely relaxed.
Yet you tried. Damian would be with you, almost nothing could go wrong.
Almost.
Damian knew something was off. It was clear on his face and in the way his eyes had lingered on you earlier as you waited for him to unlock the car.
He let you have it and didn’t ask. In fact, the drive was silent for the most part. You had to practically cross the entire city to get to Leonard’s and your mother’s home.
You broke the silence by asking, “Why did you insist on driving?”
“Baking relaxes you, driving relaxes me.”
“What if there’s traffic? Does that relax you too?”
“It does when I don’t want to get to the place I’m driving to.”
You huffed a laugh. Damian always had an answer for everything. Not always the correct one, but an answer nonetheless.
Before you could say anything else, the property came into view. Soon, you were undoing your seatbelt and exiting the car.
Damian followed your lead close by. The front doors opened the moment you stopped in front of them.
The two of you were greeted by a maid who took everything Damian and you had been carrying which wasn’t much — his tux for the party, your bag of accessories, and the gifts you had bought for Leonard and your mother.
Leonard enveloped you in a warm hug. There was no comment about how happy he was that you had made it, and it wasn’t needed either. You took his silence as a sign that he never doubted you.
He didn’t seem fazed by Damian’s presence, they politely greeted each other and made small talk. Their conversation sounded awkward at first, but you expected such a thing since Damian told you they had never stroke conversation.
You looked for your mother with your eyes, estranged by the fact that she hadn’t been there with Leonard to greet you.
As your step-father guided you and Damian to the living room, he informed you, “Your mother’s on the phone with your aunt.”
“Is she coming to the party?”
Leonard shrugged. “Still indecisive from what I can tell.”
You followed his gaze. Your mother was doing her best not to frown in front of Damian, but it was clear that she was trying to convince your aunt to attend.
Your aunt loved to feel important. You were sure she was already in town and was only giving your mother a hard time so your mother would beg.
It was amusing, honestly. Your mother wasn’t one for begging, and your aunt had a knack for twisting people’s words to give herself more importance.
Her eyes landed on you and the sparkle in them prompted you to stand completely straight. She ended the phone call, standing up from the cushioned chair.
You watched her approach you and Damian. She analyzed you both, then introduced herself to Damian.
Your mother almost melted when Damian smiled at her as he shook her hand. And you could definitely see why.
He had her in his pocket already, and Leonard wasn’t too far behind from falling for it.
A part of you felt guilty, but Damian was making it all seem easy. He even took reigns of the conversation when you were asked about your relationship.
You could only hope he hadn’t picked up on your nervousness too much.
════════════════════════
You were dying to complain about Travis’s texts, but it sounded trivial and childish. Damian would tell you to turn your phone off and relax, what else could he say?
You wished you could relax. And a tiny part of you wanted to talk with Travis, but you weren’t sure why. He should have been in your room with you and not Damian, but you preferred to have Damian there.
Did that make you a bad person? You weren’t sure.
Damian knew what to do and what to say in front of people who were only there to see if they could get something out of more successful people than them.
Travis would’ve ruined it all, you were convinced. But he could still ruin things from afar, he was already ruining your mood and he wasn’t even there.
And what if he tried to crash the party? Travis found those things amusing, and you did too when your reputation wasn’t on the line.
Your mother would be disappointed in you, in your acquaintanceships, and your taste in men. She would also chastise you for dragging Damian into this.
On top of that, you still needed to tell her you wouldn’t see your father for New Year’s.
You sneaked a few glances at Damian through the mirror as you did your makeup. He looked so calm, playing a game on his phone, completely unfazed.
Wondering if he would be in such a state when the roles were reversed, you tilted your head, making sure your makeup was perfect.
You asked for his opinion, “Does my makeup look like too much?”
Damian placed his cellphone onto the bedside table, sitting up on the bed to look at you through the vanity’s mirror. “You look great.”
Turning around to face him, you asked, “Are you sure?”
He inhaled shakily. “Completely.”
You had no reason to distrust him. He wouldn’t have let you make a fool of yourself or make him look like an idiot.
Standing up, you smoothed your dress, facing him still. “How about the dress? Do you like it?”
What kind of question was that? What were you doing?
You felt even dumber as his eyes raked down your body. He had never done that, and you weren’t sure if the thrill down your spine was a good or a bad thing.
“It’s nice.”
He pushed himself off the bed and in a few strides stood next to you. Damian’s eyes were still on you, and although his gaze didn’t feel judgmental, you considered the possibility of changing into another dress.
“About the placement of my hands...”
“What about it?” you asked, voice small.
“I want to make sure you’re still comfortable with it.”
Nodding, you moved your hands out of the way. You tensed the moment his hands touched the fabric of your dress.
Damian’s tough lightened yet he didn’t withdraw his hands. “Easy. It’s just me.”
“Sorry,” you spluttered, “I’m just...”
“Eager for the evening to end?” he offered, moving his hands up to your waist. He stood behind you, leaning over your shoulder to watch your expression.
“Yeah.”
One of his hands left your body as he took position beside you like he was supposed to, arm around you and hand on your waist. “No complaints?”
“No,” you tried not to sound surprised, “it’s perfect.”
════════════════════════
Never in your life had you felt so many pairs of eyes on you. Your aunt had made it to the party and she looked as incredulous as your uncle upon seeing you approach them.
You couldn’t blame them, much less when even you had assumed you would have to attend all by yourself.
Introducing Damian to your mother’s sister and her husband, you couldn’t help but notice Leonard watching you from afar.
“You two make a beautiful couple,” your aunt complimented.
Damian and you replied at the same time, “Thank you.”
Your aunt’s compliment was far from the last you received. Attending the party with somebody proved to make the event bearable.
The most annoying part of your mind wondered if the event was bearable because you had taken a date or because you had taken Damian specifically.
Then your nerves spiked. It seemed that you had found the answer.
He was so good at this that you couldn’t believe he had been avoiding events for a year. Up until that night in his apartment, he had only planned to attend his father’s new year’s ball, and even then, he had admitted he would only do so because he always kept his promises.
His hand slid off your waist. He didn’t drop the conversation he was having as his palm pressed against yours. Drawing circles on the back of your hand, he encouraged you to participate too.
But you couldn’t do it, anxiety was settling in. “If you excuse us,” you said politely, gripping Damian’s hand.
You almost tripped as you hurried your steps, desperate to get away from the reception. You pushed a room open and blindly slapped the tapered walls a few times in search of the light switch.
You regretted turning the lights on immediately. The vast sitting room felt too small and too big all at once. You felt suffocated and lost in the enormous room.
You closed your eyes, picturing an empty white room. The trick used to work for nightmares, but you weren’t sure it was effective when you were nervous.
“Everything is going well,” you murmured to yourself.
“It is,” Damian said lowly which prompted you to open your eyes. “There’s nothing to worry about. Everybody adores you, Leonard looks good in front of the crowd, your mother is happy.” Before you could retort that your mother always feigned happiness, he added, “I can see it in her eyes. She’s enjoying herself.”
“I have a feeling something will go wrong.”
He let go of your hand and opted to place both his palms on your shoulders. His hands weren’t warm or cold, and you didn’t feel a thrill down your spine when he touched you.
It was better than that. You felt like you weren’t alone in this — you could breathe and be yourself in private, you could also fake your entire personality in public. It didn’t matter, you weren’t alone, he wasn’t going to think any less of you.
Damian chose his words carefully, “We would be able to fix it if something were to go wrong.”
Searching for his eyes, you asked, “Do you promise?”
“Yes,” he whispered. One of his hands found its way to the side of your neck, painstakingly slowly trailing up to your cheek.
His eyes traveled down your face, staying downward. You unconsciously did the same, gaze falling onto his lips. He lightly parted his mouth, then closed it again.
You inhaled as softly as you could, trying not to sigh. Damian read your poorly hidden intentions and brought your face closer to his.
You rested your hands on his sides, rather clumsily letting your hands stay near his ribs. You licked your bottom lip as you finally took a shaky breath in.
He tilted his head ever so slightly. Damian was about to lean in when the door opened.
Both of you turned to look at whoever had interrupted. Leonard stood in the doorway, unsure as though what to say.
He looked apologetic, but there was something else going on. You could tell by how tense his face looked.
“A man is at the gate looking for you, (Name). He says he’s your boyfriend.”
Damian and you shared a look. His grip on your shoulder tightened as he squeezed, hand slowly leaving your face. He sighed as though exasperated. “I assumed your ex-boyfriend wouldn’t give us any more trouble.”
“Me too,” you said, voice small.
“Can you fix it?” Leonard asked, hesitant. “I don’t want to involve security just yet, there’s a lot of press around here.”
You weren’t sure if he had asked you or Damian, but the two of you nodded. Stepping away from Damian’s touch, you said, “I’ll talk to him.”
Damian’s eyes were on you, analyzing your face. He read you so easily, as though you were a book he had memorized since he was a child.
“I will excuse you,” he assured you, nodding once.
His assurance was everything you needed to leave the room.
You breathed in the cold air, letting it hit your skin. Its contrast with your hot face almost burned. Had you really been about to kiss Damian or had your mind tricked you?
Perhaps it was only the position in which you had been standing, or how soft his lips looked...
”You’re acting like a schoolgirl,” you inwardly chastised yourself.
You wanted nothing more than to free yourself from your heels. Your feet felt heavy, and your knees slightly wobbled as you made your way across the front garden.
From afar, you could make Travis’s form, slouched over as he held something in his hand.
The gatekeeper nodded at you in greeting.
“Could you please let him in, Harry?”
The man stared at you, then at Travis. Ultimately, he opened the gate and allowed Travis to walk past him.
“It’s fine,” you assured Harry, hoping he would understand what your words meant.
He was so used to Leonard’s politeness that he immediately did. You watched him walk toward the front door where he had a good view of the gates.
Travis chuckled. “Finally.”
“What do you think you’re doing?”
He offered what he had been gripping in his fist to you. “I brought you flowers.”
“I hate roses.”
Roses reminded you of those times when you were a child and your father would get home with an arrangement of twelve roses for your mother. You used to find it romantic until you found out he bought her flowers every time he cheated on her.
“I get that you’re mad, but come on, babe.”
“Don’t call me babe.”
“What? Not fancy enough for your party? Should I call you your majesty?”
You glared at him. “Stop mocking me.”
“I’m joking!”
“No, you’re not.”
“They said your boyfriend was already there with you.” He nodded upward. “Did you move on that fast?”
You stuttered. “Well... I brought a date.”
“It took you a fucking week, huh.”
“You are the one who broke up with me!”
“I’m here, aren’t I? Trying to apologize because I fucked up just to find out the girl I love brought another guy to the party she wanted to force me to dress up for.”
Your heart clenched upon hearing that he loved you. It was the first time he said something remotely close to that. Travis had been clear about being attracted to you, but never about his feelings.
If only he had said it sooner...
“I needed you to show your love that Saturday when instead of breaking up with me you could have told me you would make an effort to not make me look like an idiot.”
“You know I don’t like that fake shit!”
“Then why did you make me lose my time?” You threw your hands in the air. “You said you wanted to meet my mother and Leonard for the holidays,” you reminded him. “It was your idea.”
“Yeah, for Christmas dinner or something, not a fancy-schmancy party where I have to dress like a waiter.” Not happy with only offending the kind of events you frequented, he said, “Just look at you.” He pointed at your dress. “You must be freezing in that dress.”
You weren’t even cold. “I can’t change my family for you,” you claimed, wishing you didn’t have to state the obvious. “And I can’t ruin my mother’s reputation because you expected me to be different.”
“You are different, though.” He shifted on his feet, ready to give you the best argument he had, “You love my friends.”
You scoffed, opening and closing your fist. You really wanted to mess with your hair. “That doesn’t mean anything. I liked your friends because they are your friends, that’s it.”
”They liked you because you were my girlfriend even though—“ Travis stopped himself, narrowing his eyes.
An arm wrapped around your shoulders. Warm breath hit your cheek as Damian murmured, “Your hand movements were visible from inside.”
Your breath hitched and you dropped your hands to your sides. Twisting your body, trying to read Damian’s features, you asked, “Did anybody hear anything?”
“No, the music and conversations are loud enough.”
“I should have expected this.”
You didn’t like the grit in Travis’s comment. “Expected what?”
“You took him to our first date. The writing was on the wall.” He shook his head, scoffing. “I’m a fucking idiot.”
Damian’s arm tensed around you. His stiff body against your side sent a shiver down your spine — this time you were sure why. You had never seen him angry, but you had the feeling that you would if Travis continued talking. Damian had never liked him after all.
“Weren’t you the one who made her go to a bar in the most dangerous part of the city?” Damian asked venomously.
“It was close to my place,” Travis defended himself, standing straight to appear taller than he was. “I thought that would be easier. But you know, she arrived with her stuck up friend.”
“I didn’t arrive with him!” you said, indignant and uncomfortable. You hated when people spoke about you as though you weren’t present. “Damian just drove me there.”
“And he waited for you outside.”
“It’s common to have somebody you know close by when you’re meeting someone for the first time.”
“Yeah, I thought you would take a friend.”
“He’s my friend!”
“Ah, is he?”
“Watch your tone,” Damian warned Travis.
Travis glared at you. “I wish you wouldn’t have wasted my time like this. You should have dated one of your kind from the start.”
“You know it isn’t about—“
He interrupted you. “I don’t know anything. I don’t think I ever got to know you.”
Your mouth bobbed open. It wasn’t worth it, you decided, and merely shrugged. You had to swallow everything you wanted to say, and the hurt you were experiencing upon finding out how little Travis thought about you.
“I think you should leave,” you told him.
And you watched him leave for the second time in two weeks, more disappointed than before — angry with him and with yourself, nervous as to how you would explain this to Leonard and your mother...
Damian’s heavy breathing wasn’t helping your case. He was more worked up than you.
“Why did you let him talk to you like that?”
“It’s fine, Damian.”
“No, it isn’t.”
“He was angry. We... we had a fight once because of you. It was very early in the relationship.”
“In your four-month relationship, you mean.”
You lightly nodded. “Those things happen, you know?”
Damian honestly said, “No, I don’t. Fights like those are red flags.”
“Sounds like you’re better at this than me.”
Instead of attempting to comfort you, he spoke honestly once again, “I’m more selective than you. That’s all.”
“He told me that he loved me. That has to mean something. Right?”
“Did you say it back?” he asked, tone neutral.
“No.”
A pause lingered between you. Taking advantage of it to come up with an absurd story to tell Leonard, you felt Damian let out a shaky breath.
“Do you love him?”
You shook your head, ashamed. “He didn’t give me enough time, I suppose.” Not daring to face him, you added, “Besides, he made his opinion of me very clear.”
Damian inhaled deeply, curling his arm around your neck as he pulled you closer. You remained silent at his attempt to comfort you, and he did the same.
Eventually, you wrapped an arm over his waist. An explanation as to why you were so comfortable with touching him despite being new to it escaped you. Perhaps for the best.
“You deserve better. I hope you know that,” he whispered.
“I hope so too,” you confessed through a mumble.
High heels clicked against the front steps. This time you tensed in Damian’s arms, lost as though what would be your excuse for being out there alone.
He brought you closer to his chest, and his hand found its place on your cheek again. Without saying anything, he leaned in and barely brushed his lips against yours.
A squeal made you part. Your aunt slyly smirked. “I was worried you had fled the party, but I see now what you were getting up to.”
Your face heated up. “We were about to go back inside.”
“Sure you were,” she teasingly said through a small laugh.
You opened your mouth to defend yourself, but nothing worthwhile came to mind. Damian took your hand, fitting his fingers between yours. “We all should go back.” His voice lightened as he told you, “Especially you, love, I don’t want you to get sick.”
The pet name sounded so natural coming from him, so soft and gentle. You wanted to hear it again. And it scared you.

Pairing: Spencer x Fem!Reader
Summary: (Five Minutes, Part 4) Y/N enters the maze
Warning: Blood, kidnapping, maths (yes there’s a warning for that because it kills me)
Words: 2,360
A/N: I hope no one looks at my search history because... not good

You look at the LED display which gives you your instructions.
Unlock the door at the top of the stairs. Enter the maze. Forty-five minutes.
You don’t bother to step over the pictures, not caring about the dirt from your shoes transferring. The steps are framed by a washer and a dryer, both in a dishevelled state from where you had searched them. Gripping the key tightly, you climbed the stairs and slid it into the lock. You turned the key, unlocking the door and pulling it open.
A wall extended from each side of the door, floor to ceiling and, once again, made completely of concrete. The path extended away from you, but the ceiling lights showed that it veered into two different directions.
With the walls being floor to ceiling, there was no way for you to see above them and determining how big the maze was. The forty-five-minute timer set could be wholly unrealistic but what choice did you have? You had to at least try.
You put your right hand on the wall, just like Spencer had said back in October, and take a final deep breath. You stepped into the maze, ready to begin your next task, one that you hoped was both your last one and not. Last, if it meant your team finding you. Not your last, if your team didn’t find you and you needed to survive.
You kept your right hand on the wall as you travelled through the maze, the concrete scrapping at the delicate pads of your fingers. It wasn’t a painful feeling, but it was slightly uncomfortable. You ignored it, concentrating on keeping a level head as you walked through the maze.
You had been close to death. You had barely found the key in time before the timer had run out. You had thought you were going to die for sure, that you would fail the task and the unsub would appear and kill you.
You could have died and you would have never had seen your friends or family again. No more well-meaning lectures from your parents. No more worrying about how your younger sibling was fairing at college. You wouldn’t have Penelope dragging you shoe shopping again, and Emily wouldn’t be able try and convince you to have a drink with the team. Hotch wouldn’t stand behind you during interrogation sin a silent display of support, and there would be no more dinner parties or personal conversations with Rossi. Derek wouldn’t tease you about your ‘twin telepathy’ with Spencer.
And, oh, Spencer. You’d miss out on so much, you had so many plans. You were going to take him to a concert your favourite band was holding. In return, he was planning on taking you to a lecture on molecular physics. You wouldn’t be able to bounce ideas off each other again, he wouldn’t be able to supply the words you couldn’t quite grasp when trying to describe something.
No, stop it. You were going to be okay. You had made it this far. As long as you followed Spencer’s directions and kept right, you would make it out of the maze. You were not going to let some unsub beat you.
You had went up against unsubs before. Everyday of your career was full of them and you hadn’t lost yet. You were not going to lose this time. You had been there to help stop Tobias Hankel, Mason Turner, and Robert and Linda Reimann. If you could get through them, you could get through this.
Your nose scrunched up as a rancid odour filled your senses. Your left hand lifts to cover your face as you choke on air, the smell turning your stomach. The smell is strong and sharp, and almost seems to burn your nose.
And its coming from your right.
You have no choice, you have to follow it around, you can’t detour from your path or you’ll never make it out of the maze.
You turn the corner.
There, on the floor, is a large stain. It’s a dark, rusted red. Smeared across the floor, as if someone had half-assed trying to clean it us, the blood was easily identifiable. Someone had died here. It could only have been the second victim or the fourth. However, the second victim refused to participate and the fourth completed it… maybe the second victim refused to continue and was then killed? Or did the unsub have more victims he didn’t advertise?
You stepped over the blood stain and continued on.
From the stain, you know that the method of death wasn’t pleasant. You knew the unsub killed his victims by stabbing them but with the large stain on the floor, you knew it would be overkill. That means it would be painful but hopefully quick. If you were going to die a painful death, you hoped it would be over quickly.
You turned right again and ahead of you; you could see a door with a LED display above it reads;
Seven minutes and eleven seconds.
You had made it. You were about to finish the maze, the second task. You breathed a sigh of relief, rushing for the door and twisting the handle, pushing it open and stepping inside.
-
Spencer stood with team as they delivered the profile of the unsub who had taken Y/N. He stood at the back, arms folded across his chest and remained uncharacteristically quiet as the other members spoke.
“The unsub we’re looking for will be a white male in his thirties.”
“He is probably a man who is of average height and build, and is able to appear unassuming and non-threatening.”
“He most likely works in a profession relating to science in some way. Perhaps as a chemist, a schoolteacher even.”
“He’ll live in the north west Washington area and will be single with no children.”
“His interactions with women would be awkward, perhaps limited. He stabs his victims to get sexual release that he can’t get any other way.”
“He’ll probably drive a hatchback or sedan, nothing that would stand out, nothing flashy.”
Spencer didn’t know how this profile would help. They currently had no witnesses, no suspects. There were multiple men in Washington who would fit the profile. They’d solved cases like this before but now it was personal, and Spencer couldn’t see the light here.
Derek’s phone rang he quickly answered it, putting it on speaker. “Talk to me, baby girl.”
“Okay, I got a hit off the car and the partial plate. I’ve followed it back to two separate cars, with single differences in their plates” Garcia informs them. “Lewis Rakers and Bailey Peterson.” “Rossi, Prentiss, you go to Rakers. Morgan and I will go to Peterson’s” Hotch orders. “Garcia send the addresses to our cells and I want a full background check on both of them.”
“Yes, sir” she hung up.
Hotch turned to Spencer, “Go over all of the victim’s schedules again and see if their paths crossed in anyway, make sure we didn’t miss anything.”
Spencer knew they hadn’t missed anything, that Hotch was just trying to give him something to do because he refused to let Spencer into the field. He nodded anyway, moving back to the room which held the case files while Hotch instructed JJ to visit the ME to find out more about the newest body found, that of Lydia Webb.
-
Lewis Raker opened the door to his basement, his arms full of washing as he climbed down the stairs. He shoved the dirty laundry into the washing machine, adding the detergent before pressing it on. He sighed as he looked around the messy basement, he’d have to clean it up soon. A knock sounded from upstairs and he left the basement, closing the door behind him as he went to the front door.
-
Bailey Peterson put away the final item, looking around his basement. Once a mess, he had managed to tidy it up in less than an hour. It had involved moving some items, picking up rubbish off the floor but it was done now. The bell for his front door sounded and Bailey quickly hurried to answer it, pulling the door shut behind him.
-
David Rossi and Emily Prentiss climbed back into their car. Lewis Raker had answered their questions without hesitation. He had, however, denied them entrance into his home. It was a one storey property, made with grey bricks and had a wooden porch. Thirty minutes outside of Washington, it was in a quiet area with limited neighbours.
“Do you think its him?” Prentiss asked, not looking away from the house.
“I don’t know, but its strange that he won’t let us inside” Rossi comments, eyes narrowed as he eyed the house with equal scepticism. “Call Hotch, see how he’s getting on.”
Emily pulled out her phone, dialling Hotch’s number and putting it on speaker.
-
Aaron Hotchner and Derek Morgan walked away from the Peterson residence. A two-storey building made of bricks, it was an eye catcher in the neighbour-less area of north west Washington. They climbed back into their car, not bothering with their seatbelts as they stared at the building in front of them.
Hotch’s phone rang and he pulled it out of his suit pocket. “Hotchner.” “Hey, we just got done with Raker. He gave nothing away and wouldn’t let us into the house without a warrant” Emily informed him.
“We just had the same interaction with Peterson” Hotch confirmed. “I’ll patch in Garcia and see if she’s found anything.”
Putting the phone on speaker, Hotch dialled Garcia’s number and added her to the call. She answered the call on the second ring, greeting the team with her usual quippy comment before jumping straight into giving them the information they needed.
“Okay, only one of our duo matches the profile. He’s not a chemist or science teacher, but his dad was. He works as a janitor at a local high school though, so he could get access to the ingredients to make the chloroform. No wife, girlfriend, boyfriend or anything that can be seen. I also went over CCTV of the areas where the victims went missing and it took a while, but I found the car in every camera. Sometimes the times aren’t exact, but its within half-hour either way.”
“Who is it Garcia?” Hotch demanded.
Garcia took a deep inhale of breath before she told them the name.
-
You were in a new room. It was tiny, if you were to reach your arms out in either direction, you’d be touching the wall. Ahead of you is a door, an alphabetical keypad beside it. Above the keypad is a laminated piece of paper and a timer counting down from three minutes.
The laminated paper held a riddle and you stepped closer to read it.
‘I speak without a mouth and hear without ears. I have no body, but I come alive with wind. What am I?’
You know the answer to this riddle. You, Spencer and Penelope had a game you would play with each other. You would tell each other riddles, hoping the others wouldn’t know the answer. It was a playful game, something to occupy the downtime when you didn’t have a case. This had been Penelope’s first riddle and she had been annoyed when Spencer had guessed the answer correctly before she had even finished telling it.
‘Echo’ you typed into the keypad.
The door slid open and you stepped through. The new room is exactly the same as the first, the timer reset to read three minutes and it was already counting down. You turned to the riddle.
‘I have cities, but no houses. I have mountains, but no trees. I have water, but no fish. What am I?’
This was a riddle you had given to Penelope and Spencer. You had spent ages on Google looking for the perfect riddle before finding this one. You had been proud because Spencer hadn’t been able to answer the riddle straight away. It hadn’t taken him long, only a few minutes, but you still counted it as a victory.
‘Map’ you typed into the keypad.
The door in front of you slid open and you stepped through again. Its exactly the same as the first two and you groan. Riddles were fun but under pressure, you already knew you were going to struggle.
‘How can the number four be half of five?’
This one stumps you. You’re not the best at maths and would admit to that any day. This was not a riddle which was made for you. While you struggled with large sums off the top of your head, you knew that half of five was two-point-five. The math was impossible. Maybe it doesn’t mean the literally number though. The numbers are written as words, maybe that was a clue. It could be ‘fi’ or ‘ve’ or…
Roman numerals. They used letters, didn’t they? You hated Roman numerals, they were stupid and confusing, not following a logical order which you hated. What was the answer? IIII or IV… wait, IV. Those are two letters which are in five. You couldn’t be certain that they were the Roman numerical version of four, but you were running out of time.
‘IV’ you input into the keyboard.
You hold your breath but then the next door slides open and you walk through. There’s another riddle.
‘Find the next three parts of the sequence…. OTTFFS’
What? You didn’t understand. What was the sequence? It made no sense, there was no method to the layout of the letters. What could they mean? You didn’t even know what the letters could stand for.
You would have to guess because you had no way of knowing. You looked at the timer, thirty seconds. What were you going to put? You bit your bottom lip and reached for the keypad.
“SOO” you typed.
The timer reached zero and the door remained closed. You held your breath, turning around in your spot. The lights went out and you were left in the dark.
A/N: What’s the answer to the riddle? And, who is the kidnapper/killer?

spin the bottle! Bakugo x f!reader
pairing: Bakugou x f!reader
word count: 1.6K
summary: class 1-a plays spin the bottle!
genere: angsty fluff
warnings: tears (?), kissing
A/N: hello! Sorry I disappeared again lol. Anyway I have a bunch of Haikyuu and some my hero drafts almost ready. Hope you enjoy!
It was the first official weekend in the dorms and what better way to spend it the playing party games with the rest of class 1-A. After playing a couple rounds of truth or dare and a few rounds of an extremely boring game of telephone Mina suggested that you all play spin the bottle to spice things up. As Mina went to find a bottle everyone sat in a circle and soon enough Mina planted herself right next to you.
"Okay whoever this lands on will be the first one to spin." The bottle spun rapidly before ultimately landing on Hagakure. You watched the bottle closely as the bottle spun over and over again. Even hearing some sequels of excitement before it slowly came to stop on Ojiro. You were sure that if she wasn't invisible she'd be 10 shades of red. After their short kiss you heard Hagakure giggling like crazy as she sat back down before spinning it again to decide who would go next.
Round after round your heart pounded as the bottle inched closer to you, but each time it missed. You watched as some people were lucky enough to kiss their crushes. You also watched Iida almost throw Mineta across the floor when Momo and Jiro kissed and he made some pervy remarks. Some strange pairs occurred like Uraraka and Sato. Midoriya probably would've cried if not for the next round where he ended up kissing Uraraka.
After around 7 rounds you were kind of disappointed that it hasn't landed on you yet. It was Bakugou's turn to spin the bottle. Everyone was shocked that he was even participating. He spun the bottle without a care in the world. Your heart came to stop as the bottle chose you. You'd be lying if you said you didn't have a small crush on the hot head. You couldn't help the excitement growing inside of you and the blush growing on your face.
"No way!" You looked up in confusion. "I'll kiss anyone but her!"
"Bakugou what are you doing?" Kirishima leaned over obviously seeing your distress. "It's just a kiss it will be over in a second."
"Yeah, I'm not gonna do it. Let me spin again." He started reaching out for the bottle. "No way in hell I'm gonna kiss her. I'll just do a redo."
Your classmates watched as you slowly stood up looking down. It was only then when Bakugou looked up and took his hand off the bottle. Your eyes welled up as you felt your fists turn into balls. Mina reached out for your hand, but you quickly pulled back.
"You really hate me that much, huh?" You looked up and made eye contact with him and Bakugou felt his heart shatter. Your face was streaming with tears as you waited your answer. He couldn't believe he had said that to you. "I think I'm just gonna go to bed. Goodnight everyone."
You made your way (more like dragged) to the elevator and your classmates looked at you with pity. Nobody knew what to do. You were one of the outlets of joy in the class, always being able to make your classmates smile after long days of training.
"Bakugou what the fuck dude?" Kirishima said as he shoved his friend. "That wasn't manly of you at all. All you had to do is kiss her!"
"You really hurt y/n's feelings! That wasn't cool of you at all!" The room fell quiet as people attempted to go back to playing, but the atmosphere was far too awkward. Slowly but surely everybody made their way off to their rooms and eventually it was just Bakugou and Kirishima left in the common room.
"I thought you liked Y/N?"
"I do. I don't know what happened, I wanted to do it but..."
"It doesn't matter what happened, if you want any chance with her you better go and apologize. She looked really hurt."
Eventually Kirishima left Bakugou to his own and went up to his dorm. How was he going to apologize to you? After planning over and over what he was gonna say to you, but still he was standing outside your door with his hand held up right above the door knob. You always left your door unlocked in case anybody needed anything. He went to turn away, but the sound of a door opening brought his attention. There you were. Standing there with tear stained cheeks.
"What do you want? You are the last person I want to see right now so make it quick."
"Can we go into your room to talk about this, Y/N?" It looked like he was looking anywhere but you. You didn't want him to come in, but you also wanted this to be as quick as possible so you gestured him in with a sigh. He always wondered what the inside of your room was like and he desperately wish he wasn't finding out under these circumstances. "I wanted to say I'm sorry."
"Thanks for your apology, but why even bother? You clearly don't like me." He watched as you made your way back to your bed and sit with your back against the wall. "I'm not sure what I did to make you hate me that much, but whatever I did I'm sorry."
"You did nothing." You were about to say something when he quickly cut in. He wanted to be closer to you, but knew that it was better off if he stood across the room from you. "Please don't say anything just listen to what I have to say. Look, I'm really sorry and I really did want to kiss you." He looked up to see a slight twinkle in your eye. "But I've never felt this way about anyone before and then I got really nervous because I've never kissed anyone before and I didn't want to have my first kiss with you in front of so many damn extras."
Bakugou looked up at you before looking away quickly averting his gaze to the other side of the room. The silence was deafening yet he didn't want to break it by leaving. For once in his life he wasn't sure of what to do. Good thing that you knew exactly what to do. You slowly made your way over to the side of the room the Bakugou was standing on.
"You know I like you too?" You were now directly in front of the blond. A faint blush came up to his cheeks as he looked down at you. "And I think I'm willing to let this go, but only if you let me kiss you."
Before he had any time to object you place your hand on his cheek and pushed yourself up on your tippy toes and placed a soft kiss to his lips. As you pulled away you couldn't help but smile to see Bakugou still standing there. Eyes closed and lips still puckered. It was only when you let out a small giggle when he opened his eyes.
"ARE YOU LAUGHING AT ME DUMB ASS?" You just rolled your eyes and placed a kiss on the cheek your hand wasn't on.
"You just looked so cute. I couldn't help myself." You trailed your hand down until it left his face and you placed them in front of you. "Does this mean you want to go out?"
"Of course I do. You can be so stupid sometimes." You just rolled your eyes again and you pressed another kiss to his lips to catch him off guard. "And just to be clear I'm the one who asked you out."
"Sure you did." You watched your now boyfriends face contort as he was about to say something stupid, you made sure he wouldn't get the chance. "Now before you say anything stupid, how about you go get in that bed and go to sleep." You paused. "Unless you don't want to then just ignore what I said."
You felt Bakugou grab your hand before you could word vomit anymore and drag you to the bed. He turned off the light and got under the covers with you. "And call me Katsuki, dumbass." Soon enough he was knocked out and what started as his arm wrapped around you ended by morning with him pressed into your side.
BONUS!:
It was quite the surprise the next morning when Mina and Hagakure came to your room to console you after last nights events only to find the perpetrator in your bed with his face buried in your chest. What were these two to do with this new found information? Of course they would tell your entire class.
After you both woke up and just sat there for a while you decided it was best to go downstairs and stagger the time you went. You didn't want to raise any suspicion yet. As soon as you got downstairs everyone was looking at you, and you just assumed that everyone still felt bad about last night.
You took your seat next to Mina and grabbed the pitcher to pour yourself some orange juice. Mina's eyes bore into you as you took a sip and it wasn't until Katsuki came waltzing in that Mina wanted to start a conversation.
"So, Y/N," you looked over with a quick smile before taking another sip. "Why was Bakugou in your bed this morning?" You instantly choked on your drink and looked around and saw everyone looking at you and Bakugou looking at you with wide eyes. Before you could say anything Bakugou picked you up and quickly ran out of the common area with you.
"From now on you're gonna lock your door."

Plot: Yeonjun was tired of not being able to do things normal couples could do with you so when he has the opportunity to sneak out and visit the Christmas market downtown, he doesn’t hesitate to do it and drag you with him.
Word count: 4.7k
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: None just fluff and a lot of cheesy stuff!
Pairing: Yeonjun x fem!reader
A/N: THIS IS FINALLY FINISHEEEED!! This oneshot was made for @key201303 for a Christmas game I did with the network @kafenetwork, thank you so much for letting me participate in this, I really had fun! ^^
Yeonjun couldn’t help but smile softly when he opened the door that guided into the hotel room he had been sharing with you since you arrived to the United States. Seeing you laying on the bed, hidden underneath a bunch of blankets and surrounded by all the pillows you had, the idol suddenly felt lucky, mentally asking himself how he had been able to conquist the heart of somebody as amazing as you were.
It wasn’t easy to date somebody like him for you. The amount of attention he was getting the more famous he got was way out of your comfort zone, he had been afraid to approach you at first because of your shy and timid nature but he lowkey loved the way you fidgeted and blushed whenever the two of you talked. Nobody really had much hope in your relationship though, everyone thought you were too different, your lives were complete opposites and whoever knew you, doubted you would be able to stand the pressure you would have to deal with if your relationship went public.
However, against all odds, Yeonjun succeeded in asking you out months later after your first encounter and since that day, he had been trying his hardest to make you feel like the most special yet happiest girl in the universe. It wasn’t easy, things didn’t come out as well as he wanted every single time, sometimes his schedule got in the way, sometimes your studies did and sometimes it was simply his fame that got between the two of you but he always found a way to make you smile, there was not one day your boyfriend failed to make your heart flutter.
More than once, Yeonjun found himself thinking about it and it ended up making him feel guilty, no matter how many times you’ve reassured him, stating that your relationship was perfect the way it was, the ugly truth of him not being able to give you the things a normal boyfriend could give his girlfriend still roamed the back of his mind. For example, now that Christmas was getting closer, Yeonjun knew he wouldn’t be able to walk around town with you, holding hands as you searched for presents and made good memories together. He wouldn’t be able to run down the streets when it started snowing, dodging people to not bump into somebody, he just wouldn’t be able to visit the mall and hold your hand as you dragged him into store after store without a bunch of securities guards around you, making sure he wouldn’t get hurt.
He wanted to give you that. Even if it was for one night.
You deserved it.
“Yeonjunie?” His heart almost melted when you poked your head out of your blanket fortress to see him standing on the door, leaning against its frame as he watched you. The smile that curved his lips simply made you fall for him all over again. “What are you doing there?” You sat up on the bed, keeping the blankets around your body, patting the empty space beside you so he would join you there “How did the interview go?”
This was your first time travelling with him, Yeonjun and you had been dating for almost two years and were already considering moving in together so it would be easier to spend more time with each other. You knew there would still be days when Yeonjun would have to stay till really late in the studio or you would have to spend most of the night up, locked in a room preparing for one of your exams but if living together meant you would be able to spend five more minutes with him every single day, then you wanted to do it.
Before his Christmas break, TXT had scheduled their early debut in America and Yeonjun, being the clingy boyfriend he was, had used every single bit of his time to convince you -and his boss- to fly with the band to the new continent. You hadn’t hesitated to accept the offer though, hearing the company was alright with it was incredibly surprising and you knew this was a chance you simply couldn’t miss. All your exams were done already and classes had ended, besides sharing a room for the first time would kind of simulate how living together would be.
“Not going to lie, it was kind of awkward” He admitted with a boyish smile, sitting besides you onto the bed and crossing his legs. His eyes lazily dragged to the television placed in front of you as his head landed on your shoulder, getting comfortable besides you “Soobin and Taehyun did most of the talking”
“Mhm? What about you?” You asked looking down at him curiously, bringing your hand up to poke his cheek, Yeonjun shrugged at your question, eyes still on the television where one of those cheesy christmas movies was being played. You had been watching these kind of movies for the entire evening but never got tired of it no matter how cliche or silly they were. You were a sucker for romance films.
“My mind was somewhere else” He confessed looking down at you, smiling when your eyes met. Your cheeks turned slightly pink at his sudden confession, not having expected that at all. “I was thinking of you all bundled up in this bed, watching these boring movies by yourself and how much you must have missed me” His smile turned into a smirk and even though he was kind of right, you would never give him that satisfaction. Rolling your eyes, you pushed him back, making him lay down and away from you, stealing some chuckles from his lips.
“Oh yeah, I missed you so much” You scoffed, fighting hard to keep the urge of laughing back as you felt him moving behind you. His long legs spread to position your body in between them and his arms easily surrounded your figure, allowing him to give you a back hug. Yeonjun’s blue hair tickled your cheek as he rested his chin on your shoulder “What’s gotten into you today?” You asked, turning your body to look back at him.
“Just missed being like this with you, I’ve been working non-stop since we got here” He said looking at you, a small pout forming on his lips "And I was hoping we would do something together, something we can't do back in Korea"
You frowned, not really following where your boyfriend was leading the conversation to. The things the two of you could do were very limited thanks to his fame, not that it bothered you, you knew what you were getting yourself into when you accepted going out with Yeonjun, so that’s why you didn’t understand what he was thinking of exactly.
“And what is that exactly?” You asked curiously, completely ignoring the television now to keep your eyes on his.
His boyish smile turned even brighter when you didn’t reject his advances, his excitement bubbling up “How about we go out?” He asked quietly, almost as if he was afraid that somebody would hear his intentions “I saw an arcade nearby on my way here, we could just go and play some games” He proposed, resting his cheek on your shoulder “But I also saw there is some kind of christmas market downtown, let’s go check it out, it will be fun”
You wanted to, there was no point in denying that his excitement was contagious and that you felt like checking the place out but you were also a bit worried about the consequences your sneaking out adventure could bring him. The company was surely not happy about your relationship with Yeonjun even though they hadn't made the two of you break up in order to protect themselves from a scandal, Yeonjun would surely be scolded if they ever find out about what you did and it would automatically involve Soobin for not paying enough attention to the group as the leader. The fact that he could get hurt was also there, holding you back from accepting his offer, despite Yeonjun not being as equally famous here as he was in Korea, there was no doubt fangirls would run after him if they were given the chance to. You had to recognize this little excursion had more bad outcomes than good ones.
Knowing what was going through your mind exactly, Yeonjun didn't even wait for you to answer his question before he stood up from the bed, looking around the hotel room before his eyes landed back down on you.
"Let's go" He suddenly said, reaching down to grab your arm and pulling you out of bed.
However his plan to suddenly run away backfired when you stepped on the blanket that had been covering you and tripped thanks to him, falling down onto the floor with a loud thud. Yeonjun flinched, looking down at you with an apologetic smile, ignoring the way you glared at him from the floor as he rushed to your suitcase.
“Get rid of that pijama and dress comfortably”
“Yeonjun” You warned, still sitting on the floor as you looked at him
“Listen to me, let’s just do this” He said, throwing your clothes everywhere as he searched for something, hitting you right on the face when he threw your jeans over his head along with one of your oversized jumpers.
“Yeonjunie” You tried, whining as you looked at his back.
“If we get out in five minutes, we’ll be able to sneak out in the security’s shift change” The amount of details he had taken into account to make this possible made you arch an eyebrow, incredibly surprised by him. This was not a sudden occurrence, Yeonjun had planned this.
“YEONJUN!” You screamed willing to stop his rant
“WHAT?” He screamed back, suddenly turning around to look at you with your shoes in his hand and your scarf around his neck “WHY ARE YOU STILL WEARING THAT? GET CHANGED!”
“Breathe” You said looking down at him, standing up with your clothes gathered in your arms so he could start feeling less anxious “Do you realize in how much trouble we’ll get if they find out we’re gone?”
“I don’t care” Yeonjun replied with an ecstatic smile on his lips “Get dressed”
The two of you couldn’t stop laughing as you ran down the almost deserted road and away from the hotel where you were staying. Yeonjun had been totally right about the shift change from the guards and the hall where the TXT’s rooms were situated hadn’t been watched for a good ten minutes. Nobody, not even the guys, knew you were out of your room and they hopefully wouldn’t notice until you came back later that night.
“I can’t believe we did it” You said chucking, slowing your pace down as you turned your head to look back at him. Yeonjun intertwined your fingers, stopping his running too as he suddenly pulled you closer to his body, smirking as soon as your faces were merely centimeters away. “You’re insane” You whispered, looking up into his eyes.
This was probably one of the few times you’ve seen Yeonjun being this happy, the glint in his eyes told you he was already having the time of his life.
"You're right" He agreed with a playful smirk on his face "I'm absolutely insane for you"
Your heart stopped beating at the sound of his words. Since the first day you started dating, Yeonjun has had the ability to make you feel as shy as you felt the first time the both of you met. Maybe it was because of his enchanting smile, or the way his eyes lit up when they met yours or how your heart skipped a beat when his nose scrunched up in pure happiness but your boyfriend simply made you fall in love with him all over again every single day you spent by his side.
"What? You're not going to say you love me too?" He asked teasingly, rubbing his nose against yours affectionately.
"I think we've been watching too many dramas together" You teased back, laughing when he groaned, not letting you move away from him.
"Come on, I just got out of the hotel knowing that if I get caught I'll get the scolding of my life for you" He said smirking, pressing small pecks on the corners of your lips "The least you can do is profess your eternal love for me"
"Oh Yeonjun-ah" You said dramatically, bowing your head "Thank you for sneaking out if the hotel to spend some time with a mere mortal like me" Even though those words weren't the ones he wanted to hear exactly, Yeonjun couldn't help but laugh, throwing his head back amused.
"Just kiss me already, idiot" He insisted with a small grin, looking down at you, straight into your eyes.
Rolling yours, you finally gave into his wants -which were also yours- and went to close the small distance between your faces, craving to feel the warmth of his lips against yours already. However, as soon as your lips were about to touch, a driver that was passing by, honk their claxon at the two of you, whistling and cheering with his friends at the small romantic scene Yeonjun and you were starring in the middle of the street.
The sudden public appreciation made the two of you shy and instead of kissing you, Yeonjun just rested his forehead against yours, letting out a quiet chuckle as he closed his eyes.
"Why doesn't the world want me to kiss you?" He asked quietly, still smiling through his words.
"Screw the world, I just care about you"
Surprising him, you grabbed the front of his hoodie and pulled him towards you, making your lips meet in a rushed kiss. Yeonjun couldn't help but smile and you giggled against his lips, shivering coldly when his hands reached up to cup one of your cheeks, caressing your soft skin gently.
After a few seconds of just kissing each other, refusing to be the one to break the moment, Yeonjun ended up pulling away "Are we moving or we're just going to make out in this shady street?" He asked playfully, refusing to move his lips away from yours, letting them brush against your lips with every single word he said. His eyes opened, watching your features curiously yet amusedly.
"Let's go, we've got an entire Christmas market to explore"
When you got to the place where the event was being held, there was no point in denying anxiety was starting to get to you, there were a lot of people around and there was no doubt that somebody from the crowd would surely recognize your famous boyfriend if the cap he was wearing fell down.
Yeonjun fixed his cap, lowering it a bit more so it would cover most of his blue hair and his eyes, his hand squeezing yours to reassure you that everything would be alright. He wasn't worried about himself but the fact that if fans started gathering around him, you would also be trapped in the middle of that nightmare with him and the last thing he wanted was for you to get hurt.
"Maybe it's better if we go back to the hotel?" He suddenly asked, the thought of you getting hurt being too much for him to handle.
You looked up at him confused yet surprised, after how far you’ve got he wanted to return to your room? "What?" You asked as if you hadn't heard him correctly, frowning softly, intertwining your fingers tighter "But you wanted to take a look, right?" You asked again, turning your body so you would be facing him.
"I don't want you to be trapped with me if someone recognizes me" He confessed, feeling a little fidgety yet shy at the sudden confession. Yeonjun shrugged when you kept watching him in pure awe, kind of fidgety under your unwavering gaze.
“It’s alright, nobody will recognize you” You muttered, pulling his hand as you stepped closer into the market, noticing he was feeling even more nervous.
“You sure?” He asked looking down at you, squeezing your hand even tighter.
“Let’s get some waffles!” You pulled his hand tightly, ignoring his last question and Yeonjun, unable to say no to you when you had that childish yet incredibly beautiful expression on your face ended up following you into the market, praying everything would turn out fine.
“I can’t believe we wasted so much money in a waffle” He muttered, walking away from the little stand as you bit down onto the nutella waffle he had just bought for you. It was true, it had been ridiculously expensive but seeing how happy you were eating it made it totally worth it.
“Shut up, you could buy the entire stand if you wanted to” You said amused, groaning satisfied when the warm sweet flavor overwhelmed your paladar. “This is so good, try it” You pushed the waffle in his direction and Yeonjun couldn’t help but laugh when he saw you had gotten some nutella onto your nose.
“Can you stop sticking your nose into our food?” He asked jokingly, using a tissue to get rid of the sticky chocolate stain on your skin before he leaned closer to take a bite from it.
“Our food?” You asked shocked, watching him take a huge bite from your waffle “Hey! You might as well eat the rest of it!” You scolded with a pout, trying hard not to smile when he just chuckled after swallowing your food “Not letting you take another bite”
“Oh come on, I want some more” Yeonjun whined, wrapping his arms around you from behind so he could keep you close to him and avoid you walking away. “Please babe?” He asked, using the petname, knowing that would make you feel weaker against his advances.
“Nope” You shook your head, firm on your decision.
“Please, please, please, my loooove” Yeonjun added in a cute voice, leaving a thousand kisses on your cheek until you started giggling in his arms once again, absolutely melting against him.
“Fine, whatever, take another bite” You said trying to sound angry but laughing in the end.
Yeonjun smiled satisfied with your answer, leaning his head over your shoulder so he could still take a bite from behind you without having to unwrap his arms from you. The side of his head rested comfortably against yours, his body slowly rocking to the beat of the christmas carols that played in the background. So far, nobody seemed to be paying attention to any of you and Yeonjun was glad the two of you could feel like a normal couple for once.
“We should buy another one on our way back to the hotel” He proposed, watching you eat the last bite with a smile on his face, his head leaning down instinctively to place a kiss on your cheek.
“Didn’t you say it was too expensive?” You asked tilting your head back so you could look at him
“I never said I was paying for it” He replied, smirking, making you roll your eyes and break free from the comfort of his arms.
“You’re….”
“Amazing, cute, adorable, absolutely handsome, sexy?” He asked lowly, his deep voice turning your cheeks slightly pink. Yeonjun smiled at your reaction and you shook your head.
“An idiot” You finished before walking away, amused when you heard him whining and complaining behind you.
The two of you started walking around, looking at all the different stalls and seeing the things they sold apart from buying more food for the two of you. The atmosphere was fantastic and being able to walk downtown with Yeonjun like you were doing right now felt incredibly domestic yet it somehow felt like one of the best dates the two of you ever had. Walking while holding hands, drinking hot chocolate and just joking with each other would be your ideal date from now on.
Unfortunately, the time to go back approached and even when the two of you wanted to spend more time out, stay there for a little longer, you knew you should go back to the hotel before someone ended up realizing Yeonjun and you had sneaked out without any security. You loved him and you would hate yourself if he got in trouble just to please you.
“Wait” Yeonjun suddenly stopped walking, stopping right in front of the gigantic Christmas tree that had been placed in the middle of the square. The sight of his face adorned with the colorful lights of the tree made you smile, he looked so cute, so handsome...It made you realize all over again that you were truly lucky to have such a boyfriend “I bought you a present”
Your brain took a few seconds to process what he had just said, you were surprised and shocked to say the least “You did?” You asked curiously, kind of feeling bad for not buying anything for him “You could have said something and I would have also got you one” You said pouting but he shook his head, pulling you a bit closer to him so you would hear him perfectly over the sounds of the music and people talking that surrounded you.
“I know dating someone like me isn’t easy” He started off, his smile fading a little when his eyes met yours “Like yeah, having a famous boyfriend must be cool and all of that” He joked, making you smile “But I know for sure that you sometimes wish we could do things we normally can’t do, like what we did today” Yeonjun squeezed your hand when you shook your head, wanting to reassured him but he kept talking “I’ve never really said this out loud but after this trip I realized it might be important for you to hear it because you are the most important person in my life” Your heart skipped a beat at the seriousness of his voice, his words making you tear up a little “Like, I can’t believe almost a year ago I was afraid to talk to you and now we’re travelling all around the world together”
“Thank God I approached you first” You interrupted jokingly, rolling your eyes, making him laugh
“I thank God for that every single day, trust me” Yeonjun said wrapping one of his arms around your torso, keeping your body against him, making the moment even more intimate between the two of you “I want to thank you for being there in my hardest days, for giving me support when I most needed it and for accompanying me even when I push you away when stress gets to me” You shook your head again, feeling a tear roll down your cheek “Things aren’t always easy for us but you’re such a strong person….We wouldn’t have gotten this far if it wasn’t for you...I wouldn’t have gotten this far if it wasn’t for you” He said resting his forehead against yours, smiling even though you were starting to cry even harder at his words “So yeah, thank you for staying by my side, for standing my annoying ass and for being my number one fan no matter what….Thank you for loving me”
You opened your mouth to say something but Yeonjun shut you up with a soft kiss, not letting you say anything yet since he wasn’t really done with his little speech “And that’s why I bought you this” Excitedly, he took out a Santa Claus’ hat, making you laugh when you saw the small present he had bought for you “I want you to have this through every Christmas we spend together as a memory of this moment” Yeonjun let go of your hand to reach out and put on the hat, smiling widely when he saw how cute you looked with it on your head “Of the night we sneaked out and finally had a normal date for once” He added chuckling, making you giggle “Of the night I said I want to spend the rest of my Christmas by your side”
Without saying anything else, Yeonjun leaned down to seal his words with the sweetest and most wonderful kiss the two of you ever shared in your lives.
Running down the hall, you couldn’t help but keep laughing when you should be dead silent so nobody would notice Yeonjun and you running down the hall. Right when you were almost in your room, Yeonjun spotted one of the security guards walking towards the direction you were and pulled you into the staircase, almost making you drop the waffles the two of you were still eating on your way back.
“Dude!” You whispered shouted, hitting his chest for almost ruining your favourite jumper with a Nutella bath.
“Ow!” Yeonjun complained, frowning as he looked at you “He’s coming this way, shut up, shut up!” He said panicking, pushing you harder against the wall as if the two of you could magically camouflage like chameleons did when they were scared.
“Yeah, everyone answered when I knocked on their door except Yeonjun, maybe he is asleep?” The bodyguard asked into the walkie talkie as he walked towards the elevator “I’ll check on Soobin and then come back to his room with a key”
Yeonjun’s and your eyes opened as wide as plates and your boyfriend started running down the hall at light speed as soon as the bodyguard headed down another hall. “Come on, come on, come on” He muttered, frantically patting his pockets when he arrived at your door. As soon as he found the key, Yeonjun opened it and gently pushed you inside, closing it as quietly yet as fast as he could.
“What do I do with the waffles?” You asked panicking, whispering as he ran around, already undoing the bed sheets to jump inside.
“Hide them!” Yeonjun said turning around to look at you from the bed
“No way, are you Sherlock Holmes?” You asked rolling your eyes “Where do I hide them Yeonjun? Under the freaking bed?”
“Just put them somewhere, they won’t check the bathroom!”
You ran inside the bathroom and left the waffles there before rushing back into the room seeing Yeonjun was already laying under the blankets. The two of you giggled when you slid besides him, instantly laying on your side, being the big spoon and letting Yeonjun be the small one this time. You barely had time to pull the bedsheets over you before a couple of bodyguards poked their heads inside, their eyes instantly laying on the two of you sleeping there.
“Is she wearing a hat?” One of them whispered, his voice sounding confused.
“She is” The other one replied chuckling, you felt Yeonjun burying his face into the pillow to not start laughing himself too when he realized you had forgotten to take it off “Hey, it’s their way to celebrate Christmas together, that’s cute”
“I guess it is” You heard them stepping out of the room communicating through the walkie talkie, Yeonjun was safe and sound inside his bed, sleeping like a baby besides his girlfriend.
The two of you started laughing quietly as soon as they walked away, placing your hands onto your stomach as tears of happiness rolled down your cheeks. The two of you were almost breathless when your laughter finally died down, turning your head to meet his eyes again.
“If you get the waffles from the bathroom I’ll love you forever” Yeonjun said happily, making you groan obviously disliking his words.
“No, you get them” You replied pushing him gently, successfully kicking Yeonjun out of the bed.
“I hate you” He said glaring at you as he walked to the bathroom
“You love me” You said giggling when he walked back out, holding the two waffles.
“I guess you’re right” He admitted sitting besides you, rolling his eyes, acting all confident as if he hadn’t poured his heart out for you a few seconds ago.
“YoU’rE tHe MoSt ImPoRtAnT pErSoN iN My LiFe” You mocked smirking, laughing when he pushed you away from him. “I love you too idiot” You replied, watching him going from pouty puppy to a huge bright smile
“I love you more Miss Claus” Yeonjun replied, making the two of you giggle, pecking your lips before he handed you your waffle “I love you more”

good for you | chapter 5.
pairing: teacher!kim seokjin x student!reader fandom: bts warnings: non idol!au ; college!au ; student x teacher relationship ; language ; sex ; dirty talk genre: smut ; crack ; angst previous: 1 ; 2 ; 3 ; 4 word count: 1.8k+
summary: when you’re in dire need for more credits and your roommate finds a course that she wants to participate in but doesn’t want to go alone, you get dragged with her and end up in the class of kim seokjin, the new Korean teacher. suddenly all those stories, movies and shows about a romance between a professor and his student made sense, because how could you not fall for someone who looked like that?
a/n: this is so long overdue, but here it is my friends. finally.
“I have to say,” the waiter brought out your food, you finally having something to focus on other than your extremely handsome teacher Mr. Kim, “This is a little weird. I've never went to dinner with my teacher.”
“If this makes you uncomfortable..-”
Jin understood where you were coming from. He certainly hadn’t pictured himself having dinner with one of his students like this either.
“Oh no! No, that's not what I meant,” you quickly said, shaking your head, “I just mean that this is all new for me.”
“Well, if you want, we can talk about school stuff. Or maybe you could practice your Korean. After all, the test will be very soon.”
“I'm confident,” you said, beginning to dig in without mercy. You hadn't eaten all day because you thought you'd go on that date with Taehyung.. but clearly not, “Not like Perry. All she learns are words that will help her argue with Jeongguk.”
“It's really interesting to me that she was the one who dragged you to my course, yet you're the one that's studying for it and she's not.”
“I need the extra credits.. and I really like the language. I always wanted to learn it ever since I became friends with Jeongguk and Jimin.”
“And.. Taehyung?”
“Oh,” your shoulders dropped, just like your smile, “He's not a friend..”
“You're right. He's not a friend. And he's not worth your time,” Jin narrowed his eyes at you while taking a sip of his drink.
“I try telling myself that, too, you know? But I guess it's easier for other people to say than for myself to understand it,” you shrugged, “Whatever. It's fine.. You seem to be good company too, so I'm content.”
That made Jin smile brightly, almost proudly, “Then a toast to good company, good food and..-”
“..-and assholes who don't show up to dates.”
You both laughed and continued to do so throughout the entire night.
You and your professor had a chemistry that you couldn't deny, you still hadn't forgotten about that time you and him had almost kissed, but tonight wasn't awkward like you feared it would be at first. And maybe that was because of the alcohol that you both consumed and the fact that, by the end of the dinner, all you two could do was laugh and lull, but it was great fun and you really appreciated him being with you, because if he hadn’t, you would have gone home and bawled your eyes out after the guy that you thought you liked so much had stood you up like an idiot.
Him and you talked about your lives, about your interests, about the future.. you actually had really interesting and deep conversations, at least up until the alcohol had gotten to your heads.
Then it was just.. a mess.
“My apartment is soooooo far away,” you complained when you and him were finally out of the restaurant, “That asshole made me drive so much for him. Fuck Taehyung.”
“Yeah.. well, no,” Jin laughed, “Don't fuck Taehyung. He's not worth it.”
“Yeah, right,” you snort-laughed, falling against his chest and Jin, being as drunk as you were, wrapping an arm around you without thinking about whether or not that was ‘proper’.
Though, ‘proper’ was not a word that he thought about at all tonight.
“I'll get you a taxi.”
And see, if you had just said yes in that moment, or if you had just nodded or if you hadn't even said a word and just gotten into that goddamn car that he tried to hail for you, then none of this would have happened.
But you were still upset about having been stood up, your pride was hurt, your teacher was still looking like a sex god and you weren't thinking straight anymore, so what you said next, sounded like a good idea in your head in your drunken state at the time, but never in a million years would you have been so forward if you had been sober, “Nooo, don't. I want to go home with you,” you grabbed the lapels of his coat and came dangerously close to him, grinning seductively.. or tried to, “I want to be with you tonight.”
And see, if Jin was in any other state, he definitely would have pushed you into that taxi, he would have wanted you to say something like that when you were thinking clearly - even if he still tried to deny that -, but his own mind was clouded with lust for you, with alcohol and with.. loneliness, quite frankly.
“My, my, my.. you want to go home with your teacher, Ms. (Y/L/N)? That is quite naughty.”
“I've been thinking about it ever since I first met you, you know?” you whispered, biting down on your lip.
You were obviously both consenting here, that wasn't the issue, the issue was that once you'd cross that line, there was no going back from it. This boundary of teacher/student that could be crossed, but really shouldn’t be.
Neither of you realized that though.
Not when you followed him home, not when he pushed you against his closed door as soon as you were inside and not when he finally entered you after having spent absolutely zero time with foreplay, because neither of you were willing to wait any longer to really feel each other.
“Fuck,” you moaned out, arching your back into his soft mattress, “You feel so fucking good.”
“I imagined this so many times,” Jin chuckled against your throat, pulling out and then pushing into you as hard as before, biting down on your neck when you almost screamed his name, relishing in the feeling of how tight you felt around him.
“Me too,” you gulped down hard, “My best friend is going to kill me for this though, you know? She wants you so bad.. everyone wants you so bad..”
“Hmm,” Jin pushed himself up a little and then kissed you in an almost sweet manner, before whispering, “I only want you, though.”
And he really meant it, even if you couldn’t comprehend it and he wouldn’t remember having said it.
The sex wasn't rough, but it wasn't soft either. It was the perfect middle ground that made you both moan out each others names for a surprisingly long amount of time.
You would assume that being drunk would make him cum sooner, but nope. Your teacher proved to you that he had stamina and was rather creative when it came to positions.
And you and your three – yes, you heard that correctly, first time with him and he managed to make you orgasm three times, your ex-boyfriend should have signed up for a fucking class with him too – orgasms were very grateful.
Naturally the act was also a bit clumsy, but that almost made it even better. Sex didn’t always have to be super passionate and rough, tonight was fun, you two laughed, you two moaned, you two screamed eventually.. it was a good time and your sober self – if this weren't your teacher – would agree with you. In that moment, you wouldn’t have wanted it to be any different.
You've never had better sex in your life and never had a more handsome looking partner.
Thankfully, even in your drunken state, you hadn't been stupid and Jin had used a condom, eventually spilling everything he had to offer inside of it and moaning your name over and over again, like it was some sort of prayer.
Both of you were completely drenched in sweat, the sheets beneath you felt disgusting, but you yourself didn't.
Your legs were still wrapped around him, you could feel him soften inside of you, yet neither you nor him wanted to move, both too tired and too comfortable in the current state.
Your breathing was heavy and so was his weight on top of you, but instead of pushing him off, you actually pulled him closer, your fingertips gently running over his back.
You didn't say anything for a long time, only when he pushed himself up and looked at you did you ask, so low, as if you were afraid of the answer – which you didn't understand why: “Do you want me to go?”
But Jin's smile was soft and his lips on your forehead even softer, “No. Stay.”
And so you did. After you had washed up, you had cuddled into his chest and he had wrapped his arms around you, something so domestic that made both of you giddy like teenagers.
You had sobered up a little at this point, but not enough to realize that what you had just done would have immense consequences.
In that moment, you were just a normal woman and he just a normal man who had enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
And you both wished this moment would never end.
But it did.
It ended when you fell asleep.
It ended when you woke up and accepted that call from your best friend.
“Do you need me to come and get you?!” Perry was immediately alarmed, “Where are you, tell me, I'm already there!”
“No, no, no,” you whispered, tiptoeing into the bathroom with your clothes, “No, fuck, no. Just.. I'm okay. Give me.. thirty minutes, okay?”
“(Y/N), I really..-”
“I'm fine, Perry!”
You couldn't very well tell her where you were, or why you were there.
She might be your best friend, but she would certainly not approve of this. The man she had wanted to fuck – even if only to get back at her ex-boyfriend – as well as your teacher having been your sex buddy last night?
Nah, that wasn't a good look. You couldn't tell anyone about this and you were sure that he’d feel the same way once he’d wake up.
What the fuck were you thinking, (Y/N)?! This was such a bad idea!
You put on your clothes in a hurry, then checked and made sure Jin was still asleep, before hurrying out of his apartment and jumping into the first taxi that was free.
You barely remembered last night.
You remembered Taehyung standing you up, you being upset and then Jin coming along. You remembered him and you having dinner and then things started to get foggy. After that there's only snippets.
You remembered..-
You pressed your eyes shut as well as your thighs when heat rushed back between your legs at the memories of what you had done.
You still felt him on your body. His lips on your throat, his hands gliding over your legs, his dick pushing in and out of you.. and.. it felt so good that you felt ashamed.
He was your teacher. Your fucking teacher!
And even though this wasn't against the rules, didn't mean that it had been a good idea.
Especially because.. you.. kinda wanted to do it all again.

You walked in the Great Hall, paying very little attention to what your boyfriend was complaining. You were sure it was something about mudbloods, but which one of them, you had no idea.
You were looking around to find the Weasley twins, but they were nowhere. Some corner of your mind reminded you that they were generally late for breakfast and you sat next to Draco, thinking about what would you do if the gossip spread about your proximity with the red-haired boy last night.
"Love, do you have Potions first today?" Draco asked you, calling your attention.
You turned at him, "No, my first class today is Herbology," you answered, but you were a little worried about Draco. You were older than him — he should have known you two never shared classes.
Draco sighed while putting food on his and your plate. It was a habit of his to serve you, and you never bother with it.
Your relationship base is a lot of habits — some his, some yours. Your friendship started as kids — both came from purebloods families (and Death Eaters undercovers) — and it was around the end of last year that you two decided to give it a try. It started with innocent kisses, just as a pass time, and suddenly you two were acting around like a couple. It didn't take long for Lucius Malfoy to step in and "suggest" to Draco to be your boyfriend.
"So, who is left for Slytherin to defeat at Quidditch?" you asked, trying to make conversation while eating.
"After the glorious win against Gryffindor," Draco was very proud of his doings, "it's only the Hufflepuffs next. And we know how that will be easy."
You smiled at Draco, kissing his cheek. It was nice seeing him speaking about something with such happiness. Since his father started being more present in his life, Draco was smiling less and less.
That was when they walked in — the Weasley twins. They didn't even look at your table, at least, from that distance, they didn't seem to have done it.
They were both wearing the Gryffindor uniforms, but one of them looked more confident in his looks. Neither of their hairstyles looked like last night's, but the one more confident sure had taken more time with his hair. It probably meant that he was the one from the night before and that send a shiver through your spine.
Draco, who held your hand under the table, noticed how cold you had gotten.
"What's wrong, love?"
"Bad indigestion, that's it," you lied, avoiding his eyes.
The boys sat down with the other Gryffindor's you so familiarized with — the famous Harry Potter and his gang.
You kept eating, very focused on the food in front of you, not raising your eyes at the Weasleys until the end of the meal.
Draco held your hand while you walked out of the Great Hall at the same time Harry Potter's gang seemed to be leaving. It was an awkward encounter around the door because you and Draco had to part at that point because of the different classes.
"See you at lunch," he said, ready to give just a peck on your lips.
Although that was generally what the kisses of your relationship were, you knew you had an audience around, so you wanted to give them a little show before disappearing around the corridors.
You pulled Draco closer, to kiss him properly, reaching for his jaw as you hands touched him. He was shocked but didn't take long to be a participant. He reached for your waist and pulling you closer; his mouth was now open for your adventure.
He slowly pulled away, remembering he'd be late for class.
"See you later," you said while watching he walking away. You stayed at the door, frozen, and you could swear you heard someone say something.
But it could only have been your imagination since what you heard was the weirdest phrase ever: "I would have done better."
***
Fred was feeling a bit weird around the morning. He knew he had to keep his act towards y/N, but he just didn't feel like it anymore. It had been to weird last night — he having to be charming around her was not something he was use being and neither did he want to be used to that.
That was why, when leaving the Great Hall, the most repulsive phrase about y/N and Draco's kiss didn't come from him — but from his twin.
"George, why would do that?" he questioned his brother while waiting for McGonagall to show up or her class.
"Someone had to," he answered, "if your goal still is to seduce y/N."
Fred stayed in silence, avoiding to look at the Slytherins around them in class. Although none of them was you, he couldn't help but think you all looked the same.
"Was last night that terrible?" George asked.
"No," Fred responded, too quickly. "I guess," he added, trying to save himself.
If George noticed, he didn't mention it.
"How was she like?"
Fred was about to say rude, but that wasn't true. After all, he would have been harsh with you too if all of a sudden, you decided to be seductive around him.
"Stormy," he answered, finally concluding. "She was about to ruin my life but decided not to because of my threat. So I guess, right at the moment, she doesn't quite like me."
George pondered about it. "Stop being..." the youngest twin struggled with the adjective, "alluring around her."
"So how will I get her?"
"Try being nice, instead. She dates Malfoy, do you think she gets a lot of cuddles? 'Cause I doubt it," said George, whispering the last part, scared to say that name around so many Slytherins.
Fred was about to ask for more tips but dropped it once he saw the Professor walking in.
*** It wasn't on purpose that Fred bumped into you, but he was more than happy to use the incident for his benefit.
He didn't look up at you — he knew your face wouldn't be the most content. Instead, he got on one knee to collect your books from the floor.
"Thanks," you said, your voice so low it almost sounded like a whisper. Fred gave you your books back, nodding his head, saying nothing else. And then, he left.
No smirk, no smart comment. No mention of last night, nothing about him wanting to spend more time with you. Just a pure kind gesture of collecting your books from the floor.
You stopped at where you were, watching him leave. Was he drunk last night? It could only be the reason why he was acting so differently from before.
You held your books close before turning to the other side of the corridor — to where you knew she wouldn't run into Fred again. Draco would be waiting for you at the Hall, but you put those thoughts aside. You were much too confused to eat anything.
***
The first thing Fred noticed when he finally convinced himself to go to the Great Hall to grab a bite was that you were not there.
"I did what you asked," he told his brother while sitting down. "I was nice to her."
"And?"
"She froze. I guess I broke her," Fred informed. "So I left without a word."
George thought about what he had just heard. It wasn't his brother smart choice, but since he decided on that prank against y/N, Fred hadn't been in his right mind.
"You should have said something," George said.
"I know, but I just couldn't," Fred served himself, "If I had said something, she'd reply with an angry comment."
"Yeah, that's what she'd do," George's eyes wandered around the Hall, "but look, she's not here."
"Perhaps I scared her to death," sighed Fred. "This wasn't gonna work at all, was it?"
"Of course it can work, you just have to keep going," interrupted Angelina, opining over the matter she was eavesdropping. "If she froze, as you said, it means she was surprised. And if she didn't yet appear," the girl looked over the Slytherin table, "it means she's thinking about it."
Fred stared at Angelina, querying if he should believe what the girl was telling. He hoped it was true because he desperately wanted to prank Draco, and he'd need you to success at that.
***
"Where have been, love?"
It was Draco's voice, coming from behind you. You turned your face to see him — he was wearing his Quidditch uniform, which you didn't think looked quite good in him.
"Had a lot of homework," you lied, and Draco didn't even doubt as it was a recurring lie you told him every time you wanted to be alone.
The Slytherin common room was rather loud on that afternoon, but both of you didn't seem to notice.
"But are you alright?" he asked, raising a brow.
"I'm fine," you sighed, tilting your head. "Are you coming or going to practice?"
He bit his lip. "Going to it. I hope you don't mind."
"Not at all," you replied, "just be careful."
You knew the rest of the team was brutal.
"Always," he smiled, starting to walk away. He then stopped and turned back at you, "Don't wait up — Marcus said this will be the hardest training we had ever."
"Oh," you sighed, frowning. "Good luck, then."
"I'll be," he replied, but he didn't come near you to kiss you goodbye. Generally, that wouldn't have mattered, you wouldn't have even noticed. But that day it seemed to have bugged you.
***
Weeks passed by, but Fred never dropped his act. He followed his brother's suggestions, being gentle to y/N instead of seductive.
He had no idea if it was working or not, but he kept trying. He couldn't give up, not now after what he heard about the Slytherins — they had hurt another kid from Hufflepuff, probably harder than they hurt Harry.
He would meet you around the corridors of the school, and he would always give you a kind smile as if he understood everything that was going on in your life. Fred even opened doors for you, and with the extra help of the Marauder's Map, he kept showing up everywhere you were.
You were confused with what Fred meant with all that niceness. You two were never friends, and being friendly with each other was something neither of you tried to be.
However, you couldn't deny he was growing in your concept. You'd never thought much about the Weasleys, and at the beginning of the month, you couldn't even tell the twins apart. But, with the passage of days, you started noticing that the twin that kept staring at you with puppy eyes was taller, although just a little, than the other. He also had more freckles around the nose, as the other had more around his cheeks.
To finally find out the name of the twin, you started walking closer to their group of friends, eavesdropping on their conversations, in the hope a name would get dropped.
It was Pansy Parkinson, though, who ultimately clarified things to you. She came in your dorm with one of the girls that slept in the same room as you, telling the "new gossip of the day".
One of the twins — and that was George Weasley — was dating Angelina Johnson, the Gryffindor's Chaser. Her tone insisted on a joke; she claimed the relationship wouldn't last.
"I mean, come on, who would trust to be those boys' girlfriends?" said Pansy, and you shrugged. "They are evil troublemakers, you know, I doubt they can be loyal."
"Maybe she just wants to have fun as well," you said, avoiding Pansy's eyes.
The gossip girl, however, didn't take her time to convince you, and quickly she and her friend left the dorm.
You stayed in bed, thinking about what you had just heard. So one of the twins was dating, which could only mean that the one being nice and charming around you was Fred.
That don't change anything, you thought, puffing. It could even have been George all the time; what difference would that make? It was not like you were interested, right?
Oh, Merlin, you needed to see Draco. You needed to kiss him again, kiss him like you two have been avoiding for days, so you could remind yourself that you were in a relationship with someone that liked you very much.
You walked out of the dorm, looking around for your boyfriend, but he wasn't there. You decide to leave the Slytherin's place, and ramble the castle — it was your only chance to find him.
However, you would need to be extra careful not to face Mr Filch, because this time you no longer had the Prefect's badge to give you some authority. The former Prefect was healthy again and restored to her position.
"Draco?" you called his name inside one empty classroom, but no one answered.
You went to every spot you could think Draco would be at but did not find him. So, you decided to stop at the Astronomy Tower, and take some quiet time for yourself, looking to the beautiful night sky.
The thing was: you didn't expect for someone already to be there.
It wasn't your boyfriend — the night sky would not affect his golden locks of hair, so you wondered who could it be. You were about to turn around and leave when a voice spoke.
"Stay — I'm leaving, anyway," Fred Weasley turned. He was not smiling at you this time; he pressed his lips together as if he was afraid to say too much.
"No worries, Fred," you replied, avoiding his eyes, "you can stay."
"Not gonna report me this time?" he asked, trying to be funny.
"No longer a Prefect," you informed, coping his expression.
He let out a low "oh" and turned back at the sky. It seemed as if he was asking you to join him, and you stayed still for a moment, wondering if you should.
"How you knew it was me and not my brother?" he asked as soon as you reached the parapet. Neither of you stared at each other; you were scared to do so, and he was afraid it would be too soon.
"What are you talking about?" you played dumb. "I always knew how to distinguish you from George."
"No, you didn't," he replied. "You use to call me George all the time when we were younger."
"Everybody gets confused when it comes to you two sometimes," you said, not brave enough to confess you've been paying close attention lately, "I just took a lucky guess."
Fred smiled at your lame excuse, but you weren't able to see it.
"So what are you doing here, past-curfew?"
You sighed, "I could ask you the same."
"Couldn't sleep," he said, but you didn't believe it. It was way too early for someone to be trying to sleep, especially if that someone was Fred Weasley.
Since you had no idea why would he have lied, you decided to answer the question yourself.
"Was looking for Draco, but couldn't find him."
Fred finally looked down at you, his dark eyes sparkling with the light of the moon.
"He's probably at his room, did you knock there?" you were surprised with Fred's suggestion. You were expecting him to reply with a smart comment, something similar with what you were sure he said when you kissed Draco in the Great Hall entrance, many days ago.
As simple as it sounded, the idea of knocking at his room did not occur to you. You bit your lower lip, embarrassed.
"No," you answered, feeling your cheeks turning red.
Fred didn't say anything else, most likely because he had no idea of what to say. It was not like you two had much in common — it was already a big coincidence that you both liked to use the Astronomy Tower to think.
He turned his back at you, ready to leave. "Good night," he whispered, but you practically didn't hear due to the wind.
"Fred!" You called him, not sure why, but it felt like you two still had a lot to talk.
He turned his face at your direction, and you gulped, thinking of what to say. You two kept staring at each other for a while, and you knew you were more flushed now than you were before.
You sighed, breathing out. "Nothing," you set Fred free, knowing there wasn't anything right for you two to keep talking.
Fred diverged his eyes from you, lowering his head while his hands wandered his hair. It was a very tempting view, you thought.
As fast as he was about to leave, Fred walked closer to you, reaching for your waist in such a delicate but precise movement. You wondered if he had been planning to do that from the beginning.
His lips encountered yours, and what at first was a shock, turned into a pleasure. He tasted like chocolate, something you was not at all expecting. The kiss was far from being delicate at that point — it had turned into a battle for dominance, where you both could only feel the intensity.
The immense desire to be closer, making you stretch to touch his hair — that was very soft just like you expected. Everything felt right, and it was perfect until you started comparing it with kissing Draco.
How Draco lately never let your kisses last more than a couple of minutes. How Draco's hair had so much gel, it wasn't as soft as Fred's. How Draco was never that desperate to kiss you as Fred was, pulling you in every time you tried to break apart.
It was the mention of Draco that brought you back to reality because you were not kissing your boyfriend. You were kissing someone else, someone who you spent years resenting.
You finally let go of Fred's lips, in an attempt of gasping for air, to get back to the real world.
You hand reached for your mouth, and it stayed there as if preventing Fred to try and kiss you again.
"Fred, why would you..." but you couldn't speak properly, your voice was hoarse.
The red-haired boy stayed quiet, looking as much guilty as you.
"I'm sorry," he said but didn't sound very convincing.
"If you dare tell this to a soul..."
"I won't" he interrupted you, this time more credible.
You gasped one more time before running away from that place. What was wrong with you? You should've left ages ago! You shouldn't have let him even touch you before disappearing!
You didn't even think of looking for Draco, imagining Fred's smell would be all over you by now. You hushed back to your dorm, trying hard not to wake any of the girls that slept with you. Finding your bottle of perfume, you splashed a lot of its content in you before getting under the covers.
It was hard falling asleep, but you found a good mantra: that kiss meant nothing — you wanted Draco, you desired for his kiss, and because you couldn't find him, you settled with the Weasley.
If it was a lie, it was at least a pretty convincing one, since you were able to fall asleep quickly after repeating it at least a thousand times.
