Im not usually a sports guy tbh so despite my love of soccer and the fact that the art looks cool I didnt really care about watching Blue Lock, beyond an initial "omg soccer anime!!"
but ive seen 7 episodes now and ive changed my mind. This shits so stupid and insane I love it.
#oops all forwards the show#was prepared to be bored and annoyed by them explaining how soccer works to me#cuz thats what always happens in sports anime (usually i appreciate it cuz i dont know any other sports other than soccer)#but apparently the fun is actually that THEYRE ALL FORWARDS#and cuz i know how the sport works i get to laugh my ass off cuz this is SO DUMB#i mean its great#and theyre aware of how bullshit this is#also i related to the main guy#my main skill as a player was also my spacial reasoning and general ability to read the field#but i didnt care about being a striker#i liked mid field more#also i was watching it in the living room so it was funny every time the brought up a Real Life guy#cuz then my 9 year old brother would chime in to boo cuz he heard Messi's name

i love merlin being so enamored by life and nature and all the beauty of the world around him, but as magic incarnate (a force that is neither good nor evil, it just is) i would love to see morally grey merlin. like ik we kinda get that with him killing people in arthur’s name and forsaking his people for the man he loves, but i mean like sorta dark and unnerving merlin who finds beauty in death and destruction and is fascinated by it. merlin who was conditioned on right and wrong but who still feels a pull to what others would consider wrong. finding wolves gorging on a carcass in the woods and feeling this pull to join them, to revert to a wild thing, to be animalistic and uninhibited. just forest nymph merlin where he’s so natural he’s unnatural.
#like his issue with hunting is the hunting for sport#he understands and enjoys hunting for survival - using every peice of the animals he kills without waste#but the senseless killing is aggravating bc its upsetting the balance between life and death#the death of an animal is meant to uplift a life - the meat is to feed and the pelt is to warm#even leaving a carcass on the ground fertilizes the earth and sustains life#but to just kill to brag about your skill?? how useless#bbc merlin#merlin emrys#nymph merlin#kinda

Finally got around to watching all of Love Live 10 years too late smh...
#Love Live#yazawa nico#nishikino maki#finally caved in and watched it because of how good the fanart was lol#the third years were my absolute favorites I loved them the most!!#I found Honoka really amazing as a leader type character too I didn't expect to love her this much. Her friendship with KotoUmi is 10/10#I had gone in expecting to only care about the shipping context#but I unexpectedly ended up really liking it for what it was as a sports anime-style “friendship and grit” type of story#doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the shipping bait lmfao I'm a simple birdbrained gay#and of course I was surprised by how little nicomaki bait there was in the show proper for how crazy popular the pairing was#didn't stop me from eating it up anyways every time the two so much as looked at each other lmfao#the manga is a completely different beast though the nicomaki there is stroooong!!#anyways love live good I shall continue forward towards sunshine now!!

i like legitimately have to be so so careful with haikyuu. i don't know what furudate puts in it, but if i just watch a few scenes i start to feel the pull. and if i give in it will become a capital-t Thing that will last weeks-months and make it hard for me to think about anything else

i think there's horse sexism in the kentucky derby . field of twenty horses, right? plus a couple more runners-up that can swap in if somebody has to drop out . not a single filly in the lineup. which obviously doesn't mean i think that like ... the HORSES are sexist . but i imagine that in a field where most of the top trainers are men themselves, there's more of a focus on training the colts that come across their paths, and perhaps even more colts being selected to be trained towards these big races in the first place . a horse is a horse is a horse, they all go fast, but there's probably an unconscious bias from breeders, trainers, owners, etc that prevents the field from being more diversified
#most jockeys are very small men also . as opposed to average-small women#you'd think there'd be more women jockeys . simply because of the odds of being short or slim enough to ride a horse fast#but it's mostly guys#okay scratch that . most of the small-time people i know who are horse people are women. the local tracks are probably full of em#but the guys whose names you see every year? are guys . glass ceiling like any field but it's extra stupid in this one#because not only does it cover the human people involved in the sport. it extends to literal farm animals#starting to think the thoroughbred series lied to little old sixth grade me you guys ........#lkajsldkfj . i read those books and i was like . okay so the american horse racing culture is flooded with plucky young women . babe no#q

so it's common knowledge that the sekai taikai is big enough to where winners/participants could get sponsors/national recognition...
does this mean the competitors get treated like sports celebrities? because i want - no, i NEED an in universe fandom for the sekai taikai. there HAS to be a national following for each team.
the iron dragons HAVE to be huge online for all the championship wins they've scored under their bag - i mean come on, who isn't looking at sensei wolf and tweeting about him like he's yuzuru hanyu and this is the grand prix final - and people are shipping zara and axel like they're a power couple. oh wait - NEW AMERICAN TEAM? the previous years, they've kinda sucked: HOLY SHIT, THAT GUY HAS A GIANT MOHAWK. it's almost- no, it IS hideous. oh my god, aren't they that one dojo off the r/asklosangeles reddit? the one with the school fight? shit, these kids are scrappy, i hear their local tournaments are fuckin huge. miyagi-do? oh my god, there's lore for the japan team from like... 30-40 years ago. ever heard of a miyagi? how did his goju ryu end up being taught by two old white americans... and why are they lowkey bickering like a married couple? whew, that new girl from the korean team (who is NOT korean) is pretty good. we oughta interview her. 5 Happy Things

i made someone laugh today and i hope every human being gets a little laugh today or to-morrow. even the most vile of us, i hope gets some sprinkling of enjoyment in the act of living.
beautiful empty chinese bookstore uptown allows us to play weiqi inside for free for as long as we want apparently???? just went in and was like 'can we play' and the cashier who was gaming was like 'yeah' and we just did that. nobody came into the store. i hope this store has wonderful business and lasts forever so people can keep coming in and playing with what i thought was decorative weiqi but apparently is not.
being a part of a city and knowing it. the train times, the bus routes, the locations of various grocery stores and their offerings. i recognized what parts of my local library were rearranged and what parts are changed. i was sad over the change of menu at my favourite italian place but very excited at the opening of a japanese dessert shop. i think the world is beautiful and i'm glad to live in it
i love being wordsss. i love being able to type and talk and exist and communicate and connect with people and read poetry and books and ohhhh. what a joy to live and expand in being.
had curry and rice which i think is the perfect combination ever like who thought of that. curry and rice and you mix it around so the curry coats the rice. this is lux. man. i love having tastebuds

this is not the exact one I watched but I saw one of these "dish scape" things at someone's house who actually has TV (like they pay for dish/cable instead of just watching stuff online) and I think they're meant to be relaxing atmospheric stuff that you mostly ignore, but I sat there for 35 minutes watching absolutely engrossed.. further proof that I genuinely think my brain is incapable of experiencing boredom lol..
#IT'S BECAUSE there's so many little details that like you can spend minutes just scanning every corner of the image and taking it all in and#you keep finding new things! like 'oh I didn't know that blade of grass moved!' or 'I didnt see that bucket before!'. And then on top of#so many details - some things genuinely do change. The one I saw was a Beach house scene and sometimes a bird would fly by or ONE TIME kite#came out of nowhere. a sandcastle built and unbuilt itself. there's a firepit and it comes on when the sky changes from day to afternoon!!#this is like watching a sports game to me. I need weird detail oriented friends who will sit for 20 minutes staring at a barely moving pict#ure & cheer and clap with me when a seagull flies across the screen ghgj.. THERE HE IS!!!! etc!! and there's just so much to think about!!#Like how the images are layered or animated and the choices that were made (like I think the sunrise and sunset sky background images for t#e beachouse are just the same picture flipped and recolored) and trying to predict what's going to happen next (will the lights in the hous#turn off for night time? will another bird show up??) etc! I even got up at one point to walk close to the screen and get a better view of#hese paintings that were visible through the beachhouse windows. and then thinking about building a similar home in the sims! OR ALSO THIS#WOULD BE SUCH A COOL medium I think to tell a story! Like you upload a video to youtube that is framed just as a completely average moving#screensaver ambiance type of thing. It's like 7 hours long and mostly loops the same still image. However. over time at certain points you#can see some thing happen like watching characters interact through the windows. animals or people walk across the screen. certain elements#in the environment morph or change. etc. In such a way that an entire like plot is conveyed. maybe like fantasy mystery sort of thing. I WI#SH I could do this style of art / had friends who could or had money to pay somebody to. I would LOVE to collaborate on a weird surreal#It's Just Your Average Slowly Looping Moving Screensaver Video I Promise' type story.. jjhhgHH.. Or even just making one of these set in so#me of my fantasy world environments. not as a secret thing with easter eggs that tell a story but just literally an image like this tha#moves over time and etc. HHRRGRGHhhhhGG.. ANYWay!! I had to actually turn it off not because I was bored but because it was distracting me#. which is funny since again. I think for most people it's meant to be a 'just leave it on in the background' type of thing that's bland an#neutral . But it was just making me think too much ghjgh.. This is why I can't go to amusement parks or nightclubs bars or concerts like..#a moving screensaver image is too overstimulating to my brain. Could you imagine me going to an environment just full of sensory informatio#like loud noises poeple talking flashing lights etc. etc. ? hghghb... Visiting a grocery store at a slightly busy hour is like my upper lim#it... Anyway.. everything is just so interesting to me. Even if I was locked in a room alone I would have plenty to think about & amu#se myself. I am also a hater definitely like I'm a very analytical person who is critical of society and systems & everything that exists#and even generally am just very opionated and have distinct preferences - so just because everything is INTERESTING does not mean I LIKE or#enjoy everything or never get tired of/annoyed by situations or ideas or etc. But it's more just like.. I literally dont think I could ever#be bored because of the way my brain works and also I approach life with elements of childlike whimsy and constant obsessive curiosity and#attention to detail. so as much as I am an analytical bore I also love everything and the world is fascinating at all times. lol.. duality#of man. if you get it then you get it. ANYWAY.. wanted to ramble abt it. I don't like the above video as much as the one I actually saw but#I couldn't find the beach one online.. BUt.. aaHH! best viewed whilst talking to yourself narrating/cheering! ALSO I want to make one!!!
