5 Happy Things
January 8, 2025
i made someone laugh today and i hope every human being gets a little laugh today or to-morrow. even the most vile of us, i hope gets some sprinkling of enjoyment in the act of living.
beautiful empty chinese bookstore uptown allows us to play weiqi inside for free for as long as we want apparently???? just went in and was like 'can we play' and the cashier who was gaming was like 'yeah' and we just did that. nobody came into the store. i hope this store has wonderful business and lasts forever so people can keep coming in and playing with what i thought was decorative weiqi but apparently is not.
being a part of a city and knowing it. the train times, the bus routes, the locations of various grocery stores and their offerings. i recognized what parts of my local library were rearranged and what parts are changed. i was sad over the change of menu at my favourite italian place but very excited at the opening of a japanese dessert shop. i think the world is beautiful and i'm glad to live in it
i love being wordsss. i love being able to type and talk and exist and communicate and connect with people and read poetry and books and ohhhh. what a joy to live and expand in being.
had curry and rice which i think is the perfect combination ever like who thought of that. curry and rice and you mix it around so the curry coats the rice. this is lux. man. i love having tastebuds

wait you got me so invested in the stammer & heddy tailor au....
this is my standard disclaimer that i have never posted a fic on ao3* and for however much i say “au” i truly mean that it’s a universe that lives in my head & i am absolutely delighted to tell you all about, all the time <3 if it helps i ALSO got me so invested in the heddy & stammer tailor au
ok now that the author’s note is out of the way here’s some notes about the not!fic heddy & stammer tailor au:
stammer as the tailor from gent’s playbook, very reserved, quiet, with an excellent eye for details (honestly the evidence i have for his style sense is just that he’s best friends with pk subban so it has to be there somewhere if only by proxy irl) is hired by victor hedman, star of the tampa bay lightning who is every other tailor’s nightmare to dress (huge, opinionated, fashionable)
heddy is decently well-known throughout the league for being very well-dressed & becomes quietly well known for also being one of his new tailor’s favorite loyal customers [heddy has the nicest fabrics. he has his suits the first day a new collection drops & e v e r y o n e is jealous]
stammer’s business booms after heddy takes a chance on him as his first big client & promotes him, heddy sees him grow in popularity & get more clients
heddy also moonlights as a model for stammer’s suits on instagram, initially to help him grow his business because then he won’t have to pay for a model and then because he’s over there all the time anyway because they’re dating (that’s why the model’s face is never in the pictures)
there’s not really a plot to this besides the vague idea of a plot where stammer makes heddy his lucky suit that he wins the cup in & sews a special little tag into the lining of his jacket that says i love you
because love sometimes is picking out the perfect right color pocket square to match your husband’s beautiful suit that you fitted like a kiss to the curves of his huge body
& also sometimes love is making your beautiful husband who makes you beautiful clothing enjoy nice things for himself once in a while, like the fancy watch you bought him or the nice suit you custom-ordered for him (from him) just so you could take it off of him
#*i did very much post a zine on ao3 that was part of a really fun exchange that i loved doing (thank you leah for organizing!!!)#& had a fantastic time with however i have not strictly speaking posted a fic. one day i will. eventually. hopefully. pray for me :)#also one time my horoscope told me i was a ‘neutral projector’ & i’ve never felt more called out (‘loves making up things’/‘will not#actually write or plot but will explain every intricate detail of their world & character relationships’/‘hype up every member of the#writing chat & give good advice but never follow it’) like HI CAN U NOT DO THIS TO ME HOROSCOPE THANKS i was read to FILTH#liv in the replies#i do LOOOOOVE me a good one of them plays hockey the other one does not au sometimes they’re so fun to explore dynamics outside/inside sport#at the time i came up with this stammer was out on IR & heddy kept showing up to the playoffs in ridiculously nice suits what was i to do??#the gent’s playbook tailor will sometimes model his own suits w/o showing his own face which made it look like he had a secret model come in#heddy canonically says his suits make him feel better when he plays esp during playoffs & if he wins in a suit he’ll keep wearing it#oh also the truth of the love is in the pocket square bit? angela price i will never forget. anyway that blue suit i posted in the last ask#with the perfect pink pocket square? that pocket square is a pair of stammer’s boxers heddy took To Me. in my brain#me about the beautiful clothing: this is like daisy crying in gatsby’s silk shirts except it’s baby alpaca fur & also it’s not sad#it’s simply decadent & the inherent intimacy of a fitting mapping the body yada yada yada knowing the ways to flatter someone is a form#of loving them etc etc. love is art love is food love is given love is stored in the custom three-piece suit and tie#is this an enemies to lovers? workplace drama? is the secret plot i only just now invented & added that heddy is ‘difficult to work with’#but it’s just because he wants to look good & in the words of his own (real) tailor the hardest guy to fit because he’s so big? OHHH HOLD IT#I GOT THE PLOT IN THE TAGS Y’ALL AND IT’S STAMMER TEACHING HEDDY TO LOVE HIS BODY heddy who’s been told what to/not wear & you know.#the commodification of the body in hockey (but we’re not getting that deep) but stammer with a mouth full of pins tightening heddy’s pant#leg down even further as he listens to what heddy wants for once & lets him pick fabrics (this is the daisy shirt moment but it’s heddy#looking at fabric swatches dozens of books of them stammer helps him pick out matching linings &outsides &squares) & stammer compliments him#& they’re in love & idk NEARLY enough abt fashion but there r like codes? messages? to wearing suits i think w/the etiquette so that too#should this have also gone under a readmore? yeah probably. whoops#victor hedman#steven stamkos#tampa bay lightning

P A R A D I S E // P O T I O N S!
PAIRING: Bill Weasley & You  WARNINGS: smut!! so much smut!!, oral (giving, receiving), piv, sex pollen trope, loss of virginity, unprotected sex, creampies, all the makings of a bad porn plot **MINORS DNI** SUMMARY: As per Percy’s recommendation to his mother, you’re tasked to house-sit the Burrow while the family is away for the Quidditch World Cup. You’re Percy's closest friend and much like him, you are more than wary of his mischievous twin brothers, Fred and George. But what if their machinations lead you to something you’ve always dreamt of coming true? (8.0k words)
A/N: Been going through a bit of writer’s block recently, so hopefully a load of debauchery (as big as Bill's) breaks down that wall. I’ve been mad at how my sentences are coming out—they sound so redundant and boring. Also, I’m not great at editing my smut scenes because I get embarrassed reading them, so enjoy at your own risk. ;)

PARADISE POTIONS!
There was an undeniable feeling of late summer that nestled in the morning air, a pleasant marriage of warmth and wind. As you trekked up a tall, grassy hill, you breathed it all in. You were in disbelief that August had snuck up on you so suddenly. That meant only two weeks left of freedom before you were confined to a cubicle in the Ministry of Magic, wasting your life away.
‘It won’t be so bad’, you reminded yourself. After all, Percy Weasley would be there alongside you in the same department. He was your most supportive and reliable friend, contrary to popular opinion. And it’d been him that pitched the idea that you house sit the Burrow while he and his family were away at the Quidditch World Cup. Apparently, he’d told Molly that you were mature, responsible, and ‘very much like him.’ You had to tease him about the compliment he threw in about himself.
Molly would provide you room and board for the next week. Your tasks mainly included upkeep of the garden, feeding the animals, and ensuring the home didn’t seem completely empty as the whole family vacationed. Molly simply hated to keep an empty house.
“Good morning, Perce!” you greeted with a wave when you reached the tip of the hill.
He waved back from the main entrance. Then, he motioned for your luggage.
“How was your journey?”
“Uneventful,” you affirmed. “Though the walk up was great exercise. I feel very much awake now.”
“It’s quite the trek,” he agreed.
“I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the orientation at the Ministry we had last week,” you gushed. “I’m so excited to start work.”
“Me too,” Percy agreed with a nod.
“Mum would like to have you in for a spot of breakfast,” Percy said.
“I’d be delighted.” You heard excellent things about Molly Weasley’s breakfasts.
Percy held the door open for you. The windchimes sounded from above you, signaling your entrance. You brushed past a fluttery overhead curtain. When the material unveiled itself, you came face to face with a long dining table. There were only six occupants: Ginny, Ron, the infamous Harry Potter, Hermione, Charlie, and Bill. You gave a small wave to the younger kids. They nodded wordlessly. You reckoned that in their eyes, any friend of Percy’s must be some masochist deviant.
To the side, Arthur was chatting with who you supposed was Amos Diggory, combing through their plans.
“Good morning, (Y/N) dear,” Molly greeted. You were glad she thought of you just as prim and proper and organized as her third-eldest son.
You took a seat with Percy. He sat where his newspaper and coffee mug laid, right in front of Charlie. With a nervous smile, you sat to his right and…
Your eyes immediately landed on Bill. He was Percy’s eldest brother, and by far the most handsome. You were embarrassed to admit that you’d always fancied him. Not in the soul-crushing-adult-love kind of way, but in a silly schoolgirl way. He was so tall, so subtly muscly from sports. And he was a little more fun than Percy, though you’d never tell him that.
But given that you were so young, there was no viable chance of anything happening. So, you chose to admire him from afar in the two years you overlapped schooling. You were now eighteen like Percy, but you maintained the fact Bill still saw you as a child, nothing else. It was an infatuation that would hurt no one, so you just let it be.
“Good morning, (Y/N).”
You suppressed a smile as he acknowledged you.
“Good morning, Bill.”
“Good morning, (Y/N),” sang Charlie.
You smiled. “Hi, Charlie.” Charlie was quite the handful. You preferred Bill’s calmness than Charlie’s calamity.
“I see it’s you who was tasked with watching our house,” Bill said. “I couldn’t have chosen better myself.”
“Thank you, Bill.” That compliment was going into your pocket for a rainy day.
Bill was still ever so handsome, appearances aging like fine wine, with his soft ginger locks that framed his sharp cheekbones. His blue eyes glinted in the morning sun. You peeked at his chiselled jaw and his—dare you say—kissable lips. His t-shirt barely hid the muscles in his arms. He might’ve been tall and predisposed to being lankier compared to Charlie, but you knew he had his own ways to keep fit.
You were so busy being entranced by Bill that you’d lost track of time and space. All you knew was that it was the best morning ever, sitting in front of him, surrounded by faint windchimes and the chirping birds outside to the window. Breakfast hadn’t even been served and you were already salivating thinking about Bill doing push-ups under the hot Egyptian sun, and that wasn’t even that deep in the gutter where most of your thoughts laid, in fact—
Suddenly, a large explosion reverberated through the house and shook the table. It jolted you and Percy. You yelped and ducked. When you regained your sense of place, you looked up. No one else besides you and Percy were fazed.
“What was that?” you asked Percy, trying to settle your heart.
“Fred! George!” Molly cried, walking over to the stairs with her spatula still in hand. “What have I told you about your experiments?”
“Sorry, mum,” George said, running down the stairs, a smidge of ash on his face. “That’s it for today, I promise.”
“I dont want to hear this again, ever!” Molly shrieked. Then, she calmed down when she realised she was in front of guests. “Well, if that’s it, then help out a little bit, won’t you? We have to get going in less than an hour.”
“Sure thing,” George said with a smile. He ran over to the table and to the coffee pot. He gave it a jiggle, letting the remaining liquid slosh around. “Anyone need a top up of their coffee?”
“Mum made that pot, you can trust it,” Percy advised.
“Thank you,” you whispered back, and then looked up at George, “I wouldn’t mind a cup.”
George sauntered over and poured you a cup. “Coffee, Bill?” he asked.
“That sounds good,” Bill responded.
“You’ll have to wait another ten minutes then,” George said with a frown. He tapped the empty glass container. “I’ve just run out. If only (Y/N) didn’t drink for two.”
“Quit it,” Percy warned his brother with a low tone.
“I’m sorry,” you said. You were about to offer Bill your cup when Percy held out a hand to stop you.
“Keep it,” Percy countered as she shoved the white mug back to your side. “I wouldn’t trust anything they put out. I’m glad it’s you that took the last of what mum made.”
You kept your voice quiet and giggled. “I hope Bill has an iron stomach, then.”
Percy nodded.
While Percy could be harsh on his siblings, you were grateful for his looking out for you. To be fair, you were also skittish around Fred and George. They weren’t as easy to read as other people. A friendly smile often meant something sinister.
“Would anyone like some liqueur in your morning beverage?” Fred asked, skipping three steps as he ran down the stairs. He reached underneath his coat as if selling contraband. “I have whatever tickles your fancy. In fact, Georgie and I have been working on something we reckon will be extremely profitable.”
Molly shot him a glare. You shook your head politely.
“Don’t feel like you have to respond to his foolishness,” advised Percy. “He doesn’t deserve your time of day.”
“Loosen up, (Y/N),” Fred commanded. “If you hang around Percy all day and refuse any fun, you’ll both die virgins.”
You went beet red immediately. It was a shade that rivalled Percy’s in speed and depth. You prayed that Bill wasn’t paying attention to you.
“That is ENOUGH!” bellowed Molly who whipped around so quickly that she nearly decapitated George with her wooden spoon. She’d reached her boiling point. “I won’t have you ruining our morning with your distasteful conversations, especially with all our guests presents.” She charged over to Fred and handed him a stack of plates. “Go on, make yourself useful and set the table.”
“(Y/N), darling,” Molly said, her sudden change in tone a little frightening. “I’ve cleared out Bill’s old room for you. Since he’s heading back to Egypt right after the World Cup, he’ll share Charlie’s room for the time for the last night. There are fresh sheets and towels and a change of clothes if you need. You are welcome to use the bath right next to the room.”
“Thank you, Mrs. Weasley.” Fred’s comment about your virginity went through one of Molly’s ears and out the other. Thank Merlin.
“Coffee’s ready, dear brother,” George sang. “How do you take it?”
“Just black,” Bill responded. “Thank you, George.”
You peered at Bill through a sip of coffee. Your heart fluttered again. Summers were really the best. It was the only chance to see him again for a flicker of time, an hour or two, before he travelled halfway across the world again. In this case, in a week. As the meal went on, you stared at him so intently during breakfast that your fork speared your cheek instead of your mouth multiple times.
When breakfast concluded, you assured Molly that you’d take care of the dishes and ushered her to the door.
“I hope you have a nice time,” you said to Ron and his friends. He mumbled a thanks. You smiled at him, happy that you were making some progress with Percy’s younger brother. Your peace was ruined by Fred and George murmuring amongst themselves excitedly. You hoped it was about the World Cup and nothing else.
Arthur was doing a routine headcount when he asked: “Where’s Bill?”
“He said he had some emergency work to finish up for the bank,” Charlie said. “Keep the portkey open for him for another hour, and he’ll be sure to make it by then.”
“If you need anything,” Percy said, placing a hand on your shoulder. “You know where to find me.”
You nodded.
After the Weasleys left, you locked the door and headed back into the house. Knowing Bill was upstairs working, you got to tidying the kitchen in the quietest manner you could. You hoped the running water and the occasional clinking of dishes wasn’t bothering him. It would be really embarrassing if he came down to complain about the noise.
After the kitchen was cleaned, you went outside to trim the shrubs, water the plants, and feed the cows. You forced yourself not to peek at the front door to see if Bill had left. He probably had, and it hurt a bit that he’d gone without saying goodbye.
The temperature had risen dramatically since you arrived in the morning, and by the time you were done, you were a sweaty mess. Bill had likely gone which meant you’d have the house to yourself. You caved into the idea of a long bath to wipe the mud and grime off your body. You dashed up to the main washroom Molly offered you and began running the water.
When you were finished with your bath, you wrapped a clean towel around you and proceeded to your room. Maybe you could do some reading and take a nap before deciding on dinner, Your chest tingled when you realised it was Bill’s old roomhow lucky were you?  The first thing you noticed when you entered was that Bill’s room was clean and sparse. Molly had left a window cracked open to allow for a gentle breeze, and placed your clothes on the bed. You took a couple steps forward and let your towel drop on the floor to reach for your tank top when suddenly…
Your hand met a tuft of hair. Hair that was attached to a pale, sweaty head.
You screamed as you tumbled back, your bare bum hitting the wooden floor. Oh, where the heck was your wand when you needed it? You grabbed a pair of slippers in self-defence.
“Who’s there?” you said in the bravest voice you could muster. “You need to get out of here, now!”
The thing in the bed just groaned weakly. You saw a pale, shaking arm stick out of the covers. Whatever it was, it was at least human, hopefully.
Your hand grappled the top of the desk for your wand. Once you found it, you rose cautiously from the floor with the intent to peel away the covers. You’d dealt with Boggarts; you’d seen your worst nightmares in person. You treaded cautiously because the creature could rise at any moment. But it didn’t, forcing you to get closer.
Your heart almost stopped when your hands grasped the hem of the covers. Your life flashed before your eyes. You needed to survive. You needed to live to work with Percy at the Ministry come September. You needed to live for your family. You needed to live for the off chance Bill Weasley shared the same feelings as you—oh, you were about to die, what was the point of thinking about Bill?
With your wand in an offensive position, you ripped the sheets off.
But there was nothing.
Nothing at all.
What?
It took you a few seconds to process it, but this… thing wasn’t a creature at all. In fact, it was Bill Weasley. Well, an apparition of him of sorts. He looked extremely pale and sickly, his skin the shade of paper. His ginger hair stuck to his face, his sweat binding it like it was wet glue. There was an intense warmth radiating from his skin, and his body jostled slightly as the cold air hit him.
“Bill? You called out in complete disbelief. “Are—are you okay?”
He groaned in response. Slowly, he turned his head towards you. He looked even worse up close, or as worse as Bill Weasley could possibly look. His eyebrows were intensely furrowed, his breathing laboured, and he could barely open those pretty eyes of his—oh, not this again! Bill looked to be on death’s bed and all you were thinking about was how handsome he was.
“I don’t know what happened,” Bill breathed out. His voice was a mere rasp. “I was feeling fine this morning. I can hardly get up now. And I can’t talk,” he coughed as if to prove a point, “above a whisper.”
“Are you running a fever?” you inquired, concern thick in your voice.
“No, I don’t think—,” Bill mustered the strength to open his eyes. He looked startled. “(Y/N)?” he asked.
“Yes?”
“Where…”
You looked at Bill intently.
“Where are your clothes?”
“Huh?”
You looked down. Your mouth went slack. You were barer than the day you were born.
“Shit!” you exclaimed. “I’m sorry, don’t look, don’t look, sorry, sorry!” So caught up in the heat of things, you’d haphazardly abandoned your towel in exchange for your life. You scampered back to retrieve it and tied it back on yourself. When you looked up, Bill was, fortunately, turned away, and only a sliver of his naked back was visible to you.
“Is there anything I can help with?” you asked in a state of panic. ‘Besides giving you a show?’ On the inside, you had to laugh at the thought of a striptease benefiting Bill’s health.
Bill was looking worse for wear with every passing second, and you were just prancing around without clothes. “Your mother keeps potions in the cabinet, doesn’t she? I’ll go find an antipyretic--”
Bill swiped at his forehead with his palm. “I don’t think it’s a fever, well, to the best of my knowledge.”
“Then perhaps some water?” you offered. “Or some soup?”
“(Y/N),” Bill called. Your name rolled off like velvet from his lips. “Come here, please.”
Your eyes widened. Your heart was beating erratically and whether it was out of fear or anticipation, you didn’t know. Still, you complied and began walking over. The floor felt like pricks underneath your feet.
“Could you please take these sheets off?” Bill asked. “I might try to cool down.”
You nodded. “S-sure.” You pinched the hem of the bedsheet with your forefinger and thumb and carefully stripped the sheet off. Every second that passed unveiled a new, delicious sight: Bill’s toned chest, the crevice between his chest and abdominal muscles, the veins running down his forearms, and the shapely twin creases that led straight down to his briefs. A chill of disappointment ran through your body when you realised he was still clothed.
‘Stay focussed’, you pleaded with yourself. You were here to help Bill, not to take advantage of him.
“Is that better?” you asked Bill, but your eyes weren’t on his face. They were instead fixated on the centre of his body and namely, the very present bulge at the apex of his black briefs. His manhood had tented so viciously that it stretched the black fabric until it was translucent. Was that a spot of pink flesh or were you just seeing things? You gulped and tried to reign in your imagination.
Bill breathed out as the cool air kissed his skin. “Marginally.”
“I can bring the fan inside the room,” you suggested so quickly you almost toppled off the bed.
“Wait.” Bill’s hand grabbed your wrist before you could get anywhere. Your skin scorched. “Can you help me with one more thing?”
You were about to explode. “Sure, Bill.”
“Could you help me remove my briefs too?”
Your jaw had, at this point, permanently detached from your face. “What?”
“Just one last thing and my temperature should regulate itself.”
Was stripping really a remedy to Bill’s ailment? Shaking your head, you decided to help him in any way possible before running back to the bathroom to splash cold water on your face to ascertain that you weren’t dreaming. This definitely had to be a dream. Today probably hadn’t even started yet. Any minute now, your alarm would ring and you would wake up so disappointed.
“Alright.”
Slowly, you hooked your fingers underneath the elastic waistband of Bill’s briefs. His blue eyes fluttered close and his face twisted in relief. You suppressed a groan at the sight of Bill like this, pleasured by your every touch.
You’d never admit that Fred was right in his observation this morning, but it was true that you’d never seen a… penis in the flesh. But there was no turning away now as your hands worked to expose every inch of pink flesh hiding underneath Bill’s undergarments. It was deliciously lewd, the way his long cock sprang out from the confines of his boxers and nearly slapping you in the face. A tad closer, and the appendage would’ve swiped your cheek. Just inches in front you pulsed a swelling, oozing pink tip that was connected to a thick shaft that only seemed to grow slightly in girth as you stripped him.
You had nothing but anatomical pictures and the circumference of your wrist to compare him to, but even you knew he was bigger than average. Bill had, truly, the prettiest cock to ever exist. Pale, smooth, pink, but an angrier shade coloured the head. He was thick, but even thicker near the base. Veins painted his manhood like art. You almost had to wonder how he’d feel inside you, splitting your virgin pussy open. It would kill you.
Holy shit. You had to stop thinking, because you were getting yourself wet.
Bill raised his hips up to help you bring the last bit of his briefs down from underneath him. Your hand grazed the back of his thigh. The unintended action elicited a not-so-subtle moan from Bill.
“I’m sorry, I—,” Bill said, pushing himself up on the bed. His neck was flushed crimson and his breathing heavy. You had plummeted into the ocean with the saltwater flooding your ears; you could barely hear. You gulped as a bead of wetness suddenly spurted out of the tip of his cock and threatened to run down the length of it. “I reckon I was cursed or hexed by someone,” he surmised. “It’s not like me to require such things of you, or anyone for that matter.”
“It’s okay,” you whispered. Your hand was turning white with the deathgrip on your towel. “But Bill, did that… help?”
The smartest thing to do was to remove yourself from this conversation and call for help, but you kept pressing the topic. You planted your palms on the mattress and looked on in awe. Bill was well-endowed beyond your wildest dreams. You couldn’t stop admiring him.
Forgetting he was naked, Bill sat up. His cock curled closer to his navel as a result. “What?”
You ripped your eyes away from the bead of precum that’d captivated your attention. “When we touched. It seemed to bring some colour to your face.”
“Come to think of it, I reckon it did, yeah,” Bill responded. He furrowed his brows, his words dying on his lips. There was only one direction this conversation was going to go and you had steered it off the overpass and down the cliff.
You spoke up first. “Have you tried touching…”
“Myself?” Bill finished with a chuckle.
You blushed. “Yes, well,” you countered. “It’s not entirely unreasonable, and—”
“I have.”
You tilted your head. “And?”
Bill attempted to lift his hands, but they gravitated down to the bed. “Well, I’ve… tried,” he admitted sheepishly, “but it’s made it worse.” He chuckled and shook his head at the state he was in. “And now I can’t even manage to move my arm.”
“Oh.” You frowned. “But when I touched you, you felt better?”
Bill blew out some air which tickled the wet hair on his forehead. He gestured to his raging erection. “Can you… would you mind? You’re right, it might help.”
Would you mind?
Of course you wouldn’t.
“I’ve never, erm,” you countered. A blaze of heat rushed to your cheeks. You didn’t want to admit to Bill that Fred was right when he clocked you as a virgin, though it didn’t take a deep understanding of your person to come to that conclusion. You and Percy both looked down on dalliances as prefects back in school, even busting students in the act and sending them to be reprimanded. You reckoned Bill was going to find it uncool but it was better to be truthful. “I’ve never done this with anyone.”
He chuckled. “I figured.”
You wanted to shrivel up and die.
“But it’s absolutely fine,” Bill correctly quickly, knowing he’d offended you slightly. “You don’t need to have done it to know how to do it. I’ll guide you.”
You nodded. “Okay.”
He did his best to motion to the base of him with his hands. “Grip me firmly down here.”
You obliged, holding him at the base with your right hand as you clutched your towel in the other. For an usually flaccid body part, Bill was very, very hard and warm. All the blood in his body was concentrated into one area, so it made sense. You were grateful when your thumb still managed to touch the tips of your fingers because, well, he was quite big and you weren’t confident he was going to fit in your hand.
“Move up and down,” Bill instructed in between heavy pants. You nodded. When you started shifting your hand from the base to the head and back, he let out a low groan. His skin felt like velvet in your hands; he felt so good. “Yeah, just like that.” Precum dribbled from Bill and onto from the side of your fingers as you moved faster and covered more ground. Bill’s eyes alternated from open to close in erratic intervals as you began to adjust your speed and the tightness of your fingers around him. When Bill stopped talking, you reckoned you were doing a pretty damn good job.
Bill was powerless underneath you and you relinquished the feeling. But you wanted more.
So, you shifted from the edge of the bed towards the end of it, squeezing yourself in between his long legs. You never took your hands off him in the process so Bill was none the wiser about your mischievous movements. So, it was only when Bill heard the creaking of the bed that he looked up in surprise. By then, it was too late. You had already stopped pumping his shaft and leaned in to inhale the sweet musk instead.
“Can I?” you asked, batting your eyelashes.
Bill inhaled sharply, his cock duking out his brain for once the last shred of modesty. Oh, fuck modesty. “Only if you want to.”
In one swift motion, you leaned in and kissed the red and leaking tip. Clearly, it was you who really wanted to do this. When the soft skin of your lips met the soft skin of his head, Bill let out an audible gasp that was immediately swallowed by a throaty moan. He was not expecting you to be so brazen, so generous in your help. Little did he know you’d do anything for him at this point, his own affliction long forgotten.
“How does that feel?” you asked.
“Amazing,” he rasped.
You licked the precum—salty, a little tingly, you noted—off his slit with the tip of your tongue. He tasted so good. Bill threw his head back. The ridges of his abs crinkled as he tried to hold himself upright with his elbows on the bed. He wanted to see you. You smacked your lips, unable to wait patiently to devour your meal. Then, in a moment of pure deviousness and sheer horniness, you enveloped Bill’s tip around your mouth.
“Shit!”
This was the last thing Bill said before he fell back onto the bed. You took that as a sign of surrender; what you were doing felt too good for him to keep his defences up. He’d long stopped giving you instructions and let you take reign. Emboldened, you licked the slit with your tongue with Bill still nestled in your mouth. You then began to take him in further, as far as you could before he reached a natural stopping point at the back of your throat. Your mouth tensed—he was too big to fit comfortably inside. You sucked in your cheeks, hypothesising that a tighter fit would feel better for Bill. Sure, you were inexperienced, but you weren’t stupid or ignorant on the subject of what was pleasurable.
“Yes, that’s it, (Y/N), just like that.”
You forewent your towel in favour of holding onto Bill’s thighs, placing one hand on the side of each of his legs. Still, you pressed your breasts down on the bed to hide your nipples to preserve what little was left for Bill to still see. Then again, what was the point of dignity when his dick was in your mouth?
Bill’s hands quietly crept along the bedsheets and floated towards your head. From there, his long fingers wove and nestled themselves in your hair so deeply that it wouldn’t be easy for you to untangle yourself. Clever of him. His fingernails glided across your scalp, slowly, tenderly, like a predator circling their prey before the attack. Bill then started guiding your head up and down slowly, his patience clearly wearing thin and needing to take matters into his own hands--literally.
“Feeling okay?” he asked.
You nodded, unable to speak. Bill noted this and chuckled. You gave him a pointed look.
“Hard to look intimidating with my cock in your mouth, love,” he said, tightening his fingers around your hair. You grumbled something unintelligible. The wetness leaking out of your core spoke volumes for you.
Bill’s hands were fully entangled in your hair as he continued to lift you up and down. Slow at first, but he could hardly contain himself after the first minute. The way his big cock pulsed in your mouth, gods… The faster he commanded you to move, the more his visage grew streaked from the tears in your eyes. You tightened your grip on his thighs every time his cock glided across your palate and pushed itself down your throat. You did everything in your power to not gag or choke, but when he did strike particularly deep, you pulled off of him immediately.
“I’m sorry,” Bill quickly said. “Was that too much?”
You shook your head, wiped a wet line of tears from your face, coughed, and responded, “No, I’m fine.”
You crawled back to him and engulfed him without another word.
“Ah,” Bill breathed out. “Fuck, (Y/N). You feel so good.”
You shouldn’t be enjoying being used so much, but you loved it. Loved it especially when Bill held you in place and began thrusting into your mouth instead as a means to conserve effort and increase his speed. You were growing wetter and wetter with every compliment he spoke. You imagined Bill’s big hands gripping your hips, stilling you, as he thrust repeatedly into your pussy. You wanted to be used everywhere.
“Shit,” he growled, lazy eyes hovering on you. Deliciously lazy and so hazy. “I’m close.”
He stopped thrusting, but you hadn’t stopped bobbing your head up and down. You were so far gone in your quest to make Bill come that you’d thrown your own needs aside.
“Hold on, (Y/N),” Bill commanded. “Don’t you want to—ah—!”
You knew he’d reached his climax when his hips ascended and stilled above the bed. A deep moan left his mouth. Bill’s cock twitched heavily with every rope of cum that shot its way into your mouth. He didn’t quit until every crevice of your mouth was sloshing with his seed; he was a never-ending faucet of cum.
After a minute, you finally detached yourself from him, careful to keep the fruits of your labour in your mouth and not on the bed sheets that Bill’s mother had laundered so well. You swallowed all the cum in your mouth. It wasn’t as pleasant as the books and films had made it out to be—it was warm and slightly bitter, but it was Bill’s and heaven knew you’d do anything for him.
Bill threw himself back on the bed, his head meeting the pillow with a soft thud. He was still breathing heavily as he reposed. Though his hair stuck wildly to his cheeks—which were slowly regaining colour—his face expressed newfound calm.
Bill patted the pillow beside him, on the spot in between the wall and his body. “Come here,” he rasped, his eyes still closed.
You obliged and scooted upwards. Bill splayed his arm on the pillow to give you a makeshift headrest. You settled into the nook of his bicep. Through the corner of your eye, you stole little glances at Bill and the rise and fall of his chest. A warm, midday breeze fluttered through the open windows, the red curtains billowing out. Everything was so serene, so tranquil, so…Holy shit, what had you just done?
Just three hours ago, you were wistfully staring at Bill at breakfast, grateful to have seen him at all this year to feed your starving crush on him. Now, you were laying naked in his bed with him after giving him what you hoped was an acceptable blowjob. It was both great and terrible that you wouldn’t see him after today. How would you explain this to anyone if you couldn’t even believe it yourself? You needed to bolt and never see Bill again.
Bill snapped you out of your trance. “(Y/N)?”
“Yes, Bill?”
You turned around to find yourself reflected in his crystal blue eyes.
“Would you like to finish, too?”
“Oh, uhm!” Well, you hadn’t expected him to ask you that. “No, I’m okay.” An utter lie. Your pussy was pleading to be fucked. You sat up, preparing yourself to go. “I should finish up with my chores. You should get going before the portkey closes.”
Bill grasped your wrist again. “I don’t want to go.” He sat up with you and looked you straight in the eye.
He was serious. The intensity of his gaze was so overwhelming that you looked down. You sucked a quiet breath in.
“I want to make you feel good,” he said, placing a hand on your cheek. “Let me, please.”
You choked. Was Bill Weasley begging to go down on you? The resolute look on his face definitely extinguished any fight you had left in you. A fraction of a second after you nodded, Bill turned you over and kissed you. One hand remained on your cheek while the other wrapped itself around your naked waist to pull you closer until your chest was flush against his. If you weren’t focussed on how hard his lips were pressed on yours, you would’ve been more embarrassed about how your pert nipples were pressed against his chest. Bill obviously didn’t mind, in fact, he was trying to pull you in as close as possible, closing the last sliver of space between your bodies.
Bill tilted his head to deepen the kiss. His lips felt like hard silk—a walking contradiction— against you and now you wished to feel them everywhere: on your neck, on your breasts, on your stomach and in between your legs. You reckoned he should kiss heavily in between your legs.
Bill was all lean muscle and long limbs. He couldn’t splay out on the bed as easily as you could. He landed on his knees, then shifted you upwards until your head was resting against the baseboard of the bed. He spread your legs with his hands—so big that they absolutely swallowed you—using his thumb as anchors.
He looked back up at you. His eyes had darkened significantly, like a sudden storm that had broken through a clear day. Whatever drug was flowing through his veins, it was only growing more potent. “You’re so wet.”
You made an attempt to shut your legs. You were cycling through moments of confidence and embarrassment, and his words made you want to curl up and die.
“Don’t,” Bill said. “You turn me on so much. Who knew that behind such an innocent facade was a girl begging to be fucked?”
And just like that, your legs fell open in one buttery smooth motion.
”That’s it, such a good girl for me,” Bill praised. He leaned in and ran his tongue flat over your folds. You squirmed but his iron-clad hold on you prohibited any movement. You tried so very hard to quiet yourself as his tongue painted you in oscillating strokes. You gasped whenever he landed briefly on your clitoris. He hummed, pleased, and let the vibrations rock your body. Your breathing was dangerously unsteady as Bill pulled you closer to him and increased the intensity of his tongue. He unlatched one hand from your thigh and shifted them near your drooling entrance. Gently, he inserted a finger. Before you could jump upwards at the intrusion, he brought his tongue back to your clit to massage away any pain. “So sweet,” he hummed again. Bill kept his finger steady inside you until your squirming stopped.
“You’re so tight,” Bill whispered. He added another finger to your already taut hole. “I can barely fit two fingers in here. How do you suppose you’ll take my cock, hm?”
A rhetorical question. Instead of waiting for an answer, Bill began moving his fingers back and forth. You let out a small whine that you buried into the pillow. “Sh, it’s okay, just relax, darling,” Bill assured. In a matter of moments, Bill had gone from shallow little thrusts to burying his fingers to the hilt. The motion of his fingers curling inside you elicited a load moan from your lips, and your legs parted further in response. It was over when his stupid tongue found its way back to your clit; you nearly screamed. He flicked your sensitive bud over and over, building the pressure in the region. Between that, and Bill’s face buried between your legs and the wet sounds of his fingers inside you, you were just one thrust away from coming undone.
“Bill, Bill—” you tried to stop him, too scared to be thrown over the edge. But Bill showed no sign of stopping. When he sucked on your clit, you knew it was over. He had pushed you off the cliff. “Bill!”
You clamped down on his hand, but Bill hadn’t stopped moving; he was intending to fuck you through it. Waves of pleasure, sweetly punctuated by Bill’s nimble fingers, washed over you until you had no coherent thought left. You laid there for a minute, until your heart rate had finally settled back to normal.
“I’m getting impatient,” Bill chuckled. “Seeing you writhe around like that, coming on all over my hand, Merlin..”
You tightened your lips. “Me too.”
“What was that?” he teased, pretending not to hear.
“I’m getting impatient.”
“For what?”
“You know what for.”
He shot you a cocky grin. “I won’t know until you tell me.”
“Fuck me, Bill,” you almost screamed. “Fuck me, please.” It was killing you. You looked down at Bill’s manhood. He looked even harder and fuller than how you found him, if that were even possible. His cock twitched to stand at full attention when you shuffled back to him. You wanted to feel him, so warm and engorged, inside you, splitting you open with how big he was.
“You’re so needy, (Y/N),” Bill teased. He laid down. “Get on top of me, I want to see you.”
You clambered over immediately. You splayed a leg on each side of him and propped yourself up with your knees. Wordlessly, Bill pulled you in and your body listened. He met your lips for another kiss that showed no signs of being broken. Well, not until he decided to latch onto one of your nipples instead. His lips covered the circumference of your areola and sucked gently.
“Bill,” you whimpered, succumbing once again to his dexterous tongue. He swirled around your sensitive bud, flicking it back and forth, and sending little electric shocks down to your toes. You were getting so, so wet for him.
One of Bill’s hands trailed down to his cock and gave it a couple of strokes before he aimed it towards your core. You moaned every time he pressed against your throbbing clit before moving back to your opening and repeating the motion. You needed to come again, and Bill was intent on bringing you there. He rubbed the head back and forth, concentrating the slick to where he eventually wanted to be. He was showing great restraint; it was taking everything not to just thrust into you.
“You already feel so good,” he praised. “So wet, so tight, love, all for me. I can’t wait to fuck this tight pussy.”
Bill piled on the words and continued to ravish your breasts as a distraction of what was to come. The head of his cock was directly aligned with your opening that was weeping at the thought of him inside you. But the largest thing you’d taken ever were Bill’s fingers; he couldn’t possibly fit without absolutely destroying you. The universe couldn’t have gifted you with a warm-up, could it? Instead, it gifted you the girth of Bill. Still, you remained in place, readying yourself as he began to enter you.
You gasped at the first intrusion. You clenched Bill’s forearms in retaliation, your mouth parting in shock. You wanted him badly, but your anatomy wasn’t letting your desires take the front seat.
Bill placed a hand on your back. Stiff. “You’re tense,” he noted, kissing up on your neck. “Just relax. It’ll feel good, I promise.” You nodded, trusting him.
“Hngh—!” was all you let out when he pushed deeper. Your breathing fell out of sync as you tried to calm yourself. Maybe this was it, and all of him was already inside of it.
“That’s just my head inside you, love,” Bill stated, as if reading your mind.
You paled. “How are you so big?”
Bill chuckled in agreement before swallowing you in a kiss. His tongue found its way into your mouth, and you could taste the pure need radiating off him. He gave little shallow thrusts, trying to ease himself into you. Though it still burned heavily, a ring of pain, as he stretched you out, Bill’s pace was making it much more tolerable and frankly, more erotic.
When he was halfway in, Bill’s eyes fell shut in utter bliss. His hands gripped your ass cheeks, pulling them apart, as if it would help you sink further down on him.
“You take me so well,” he said as he continued impaling your poor little pussy. He never stopped littering you with kisses, whether it was on your lips, cheeks, neck, or breasts. He suckled your tits again when he rammed the thickest part of him inside you in one thrust.
You stifled a cry into the crook of his neck and tightened your arms around him. “Bill!”
“Give it a minute, (Y/N),” he assured, but his voice sounded garbled, so far away. “I promise, it’s going to feel so good.”
When he felt you relax a little, Bill began to increase the length of his thrusts, breaking into your pussy a little more each time. You fell onto him, the pleasure beginning to overwrite the pain.
Bill moaned as he sped up the slightest. “You’re so tight, (Y/N), tighter than I could’ve ever imagined.” His words only added fuel to the fire. “I can’t believe it’s me that gets to break into your pussy.”
“Then break me, Bill,” you pleaded. “Please. Harder.”
He chuckled. “You don’t have to ask twice.”
Bill looped his arms around you to hold you in place. From there, he began to drive himself into you faster, harder, just like a hole to be used for his pleasure, just like you had asked.
“Oh!”
You could hardly keep your eyes open as he assaulted your body. He tested different depths and angles, watching your facial expressions for the perfect one. His long, deep strokes were landing on the perfect place - a place that had you seeing stars. So pleasurable but just millimetres away from being too much, too painful. There was so much of him inside you. Your legs stiffened, almost cramping, as the heat increased in pitches in your core. Your hands went wild, trying to find a place to stabilise your body. They found refuge on the top of the headboard. In one particularly hard thrust, he sheathed himself completely inside you, the widest part of him spearing you open.
That was the precise moment you came undone, screaming. White obfuscated your vision as you lost control of your body. You convulsed on him, your pussy contracting around his cock like a vice. Bill continued to fuck you through your orgasm, bottoming out in you repeatedly,  letting you ride out the pleasure for as long as humanely possible. You fell onto him like a rag doll, limp, worn out from your second orgasm. Bill could only smile at a job well done. He withdrew himself from you and flipped you over. He nestled his manhood back between your legs. You watched with excitement as his cock, covered in your cream, sprang to his navel. You felt so hollow without him inside you, and you were about to beg for him again, but he moved quickly. He leaned towards you, placing the head of his cock to your opening once again. But instead of delving into you like you had hoped, he rubbed himself against you, occasionally pushing into you the slightest.
Confused, you raised your hips up, trying to align yourself perfectly with his cock and push him back in. But your attempts were futile.
“Don’t do that,” you chastised when you realised he was doing this on purpose.
“Do what?” Bill asked innocently.
“Tease me like this.”
He smirked. “Who said I was teasing you?”
Just as you were about to retort, Bill drove himself into you when you were least expecting it, burying himself entirely into you. Your body shivered in pleasure, legs straightening and stiffening. You screamed when he quickened his pace, pounding into you with deep, full thrusts. His hands gripped your bouncing breasts, keeping them in place and occasionally pinching your nipples. Bill pushed himself to the hilt, then almost withdrew completely, before filling you up again as hard as he could. At certain points, he would hit a bundle of nerves that caused your toes to curl. At some point, you couldn’t tell the difference between pain and pleasure—it all felt so overwhelmingly good.
The lewd sound of his balls hitting your skin was heaven to your ears. In this moment, you wanted nothing more than to be filled with his seed.
“Come inside me,” you near screamed.
Your little request was enough to break Bill out of his trance. “What?”
“Come inside me,” you repeated.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes!”
With no reason to ask you to clarify again, Bill obliged. He gave a couple more thrusts, so powerful it forced your body to slide up over the bedsheets and your head to almost slam into the headboard. Then, he let out a loud, choked grunt, his eyes screwing shut. You could feel his cock twitch heavily inside you as he deposited his seed, filling your pussy. He hovered over you, exhausted, draining every last bit of him inside you. Both of you shared the same laboured respiration. You reached up and pushed back the ginger hair that was strewn across his forehead.
Bill began to soften inside you, but refused to pull out just yet. If you stayed here like this any longer, there was no doubt you’d meld together into one.
With a heavy almost regretful breath, Bill reluctantly removed himself out of you. You felt his cum trickling rapidly out of you and onto the bed sheets. You sat up to look. There was so much. it was smeared all over your sex, all over your inner thighs, and all over the sheets. There was no doubt there was more deep inside you.
You looked up at Bill. Much to your disappointment, he looked to be back to his usual, happy self. Your services were no longer required. And much to your disappointment, he was looking around for his briefs. Well, it wasn’t like you could stay in paradise forever.
“Thank you, (Y/N),” he said.
“Of course,” you responded.
Bill gave you a small peck on the lips which made you smile. Then, it all went downhill from there, as he returned not more than a second later for another kiss. This time, deeper, thick with more lust. The next kiss, he had you pinned you on the bed by the arms. Unexpectedly, you felt him harden against you once more. His cock was back its previous stiffness and trying to find its way back to your cunt.
He paused. “I’m not sure what’s gotten into me,” Bill admitted sheepishly.
“You mean you’re not usually like this?” you questioned with a smile. You didn’t mind it, not one bit.
He contemplated it. “It has been a while, but it’s highly unlikely for me to go twice, let alone three times a day.”
“Really?” You cocked your head. “Is that not—”
Before you could speak, Bill plunged himself into you once more. Your mouth went slack. It was quite an effective way to shut you up. Most of his spend was still either deep inside you or running down your inner thighs, but he was intent on pumping you full of him even more.
You had no complaints. Instead, you succumbed to the wet sloshes of his thrusts and messy kisses once again.
…..
In a tent one long Portkey away from the Burrow, a very different conversation was taking place.
“How do you reckon our Paradise Potions did?”
“Considering that Bill hasn’t joined us, I’d say pretty well.”
END!

Fussy

Tumblr media
Not usually favouring sports, you’re in the journalism club to make use of your great eye for design and writing. After watching one of your school’s volleyball team’s official games last season, you took notice of the boring brochures they handed out with the players’ information. You hadn’t yet chosen what to do for your project this semester and decided to lend your talents to making a better representation of the team’s charms and talents. What you didn’t expect to get out of the project was a date.
You received permission from their coach and captain and set up some equipment to take your photos in a room adjacent to the gym during practice. Hopefully, you can encourage them all to pose confidently. In order to not disturb their whole practice, you ask one grade to join you at a time, starting with the first-years and ending with the third-years. Good luck!
Tumblr media
You already know the captain of your school’s volleyball team. Sometimes you wondered if Kuroo knew everyone. The two of you have a lot of classes together and you would be lying if you said you hated hearing his charming comments and finding fun ways to quip back at him. Perhaps you even developed a little crush. So when you decided on the project for your club, you asked him with the biggest possible doe eyes to approve it and help get his players to cooperate. He was more than happy to help you and arrange everything, despite telling you that you owe him.
Fortunately, the first years were easy. Absolute sweethearts that were so excited to show off. You had almost finished with the second-years when you met your first obstacle of the day, unless you count Lev being too tall for you to photograph without a stool to stand on and Inuoka not being able to stand still so most of the pictures ended up slightly blurry. No, this was an actual problem.
Kenma was having a bad day and didn’t want to.
Nekoma’s pampered prince was really not in the mood for this today, and with every pose you didn’t approve of as good enough, he got more fussy. His facial expressions were very expressive, especially now that he was annoyed, it just wasn’t the emotion you wanted. You sighed and stomped your foot a little, looking at him with a slight frown. “Can’t you try a little harder, Kenma?”
“Does it really matter? Just use the first ones,” he complained, sounding incredibly bored.
You were trying to resist saying you would snitch on him to Kuroo like a little kid, but it was getting gradually more difficult. “This project is important to me, I want to make all of you look good.”
“Are you saying I look ugly?” Okay, now he was being childish. The two of you glared at each other for a second before Yamamoto stepped in to yell at his teammate about how a pretty girl needed their help and Kuroo told them to do everything you say and then hurry back to practice. On the contrary, that only made Kenma more apathetic. “I won’t start posing up a storm just because Kuroo has a crush on her.”
You froze, biting your lip as a blush flushed over your cheeks at the reveal. He has a crush on you? Yamamoto started waving his hands as if stressed about the information being revealed, but he only stuttered out a few syllables that didn’t turn into anything usable. You pick up your camera and look through the pictures you had taken of Kenma again, still chewing on your lip as you try to focus on the task at hand. “Can you do this again, please? Last one.” You held up the camera to show him the reference photo and he silently agreed, standing ready for you. You change the angle a bit and do your best to adjust the lighting before finally dismissing the second-years. When Kenma was about to leave, you carefully tapped his shoulder, not really meeting his eyes. “Is it true? About Kuroo…”
Kenma heard his best friend talk about you all the time. Your wit and charm matched his and he was especially obsessed with how you started doing your hair lately. The setter didn’t look so annoyed with you anymore, which made you glad. “Yes. Please date him or something so he’ll stop whining to me about it.”
You were a bit nervous when the third-years arrived, switching between avoiding Kuroo and coming on too strong. How do you act when you know someone you like likes you back?
Yaku and Kai were great, following your instructions and easily giving you several options for what photo to use of each. As Kuroo stepped up to the plate, he talked to you while you got the camera ready and fetched the little stool you used for the first years. “I hope no one gave you any trouble today,” he said, sounding like he would rather have a normal conversation right now.
“Your best friend and I got into it but we came to an agreement,” you said, gaining a bit more confidence as you went along. That made him chuckle, a fond look on his face as he didn’t doubt Kenma would fight the spotlight. You smiled at him before holding up the camera again, making sure the lens was on him when you kept talking. “I didn’t know you had a crush on me!”
Oh, the betrayal. As Yaku’s laughter burst behind you, you watched through the camera lens as Kuroo faltered and his smile fell, snapping as many photos as you could. His face suddenly matched the uniform and his shoulders were sky-high. “Huh?” he said. He was flustered, brain trying desperately to decide if he should deny it or follow the flow. Damn it, Kenma. Suddenly, Kuroo regretted how he had stolen some of Kenma’s snacks earlier. “You’re not going to use those pictures, are you?” he ended up saying, unusually awkward. It was fun, seeing Kuroo stumble.
Yaku and Kai end up throwing in a little comment about being finished anyway and leaving the area, giving the two of you some space. When he came back to the gym, Yaku threw an arm over Kenma’s shoulder and ruffled his hair, giving him a confusing mix of praise and scolding.
Meanwhile, you were smiling at Kuroo as he stepped a little closer to you. “Of course not, they’re for my special collection.” You wiggled your eyebrows and Kuroo finally felt his shoulders relax a little.
“I did say you owe me one for this project, how about I take you out this weekend?” he asked, usual charm back in place along with his crooked smirk.
“That sounds great, Tetsuro,” you agreed, taking a moment to say anything else as you stared at him up close. Your cheeks were burning at this point and you fumbled with the camera. “Now, come on. We have to show off Nekoma’s captain!”
“You got it, boss.”
/please note that Yaku calls Kenma their «pampered prince» in season 4, so that is not me making a nasty comment about Kenma. I just think it’s a very cute nickname that fit the scenario!

saved you a seat - jamie tartt x reader
Tumblr media
pairing: jamie tartt x reader
word count: 3.1k of pure fluff
a/n: no warnings for this one except language, obviously. i just wanted to imagine having a fluffy little coach trip with jamie tartt so i hope there are others out there who want to imagine the same. requests are SO open for jamie/roy/sam/ted please do send some ideas <3
---
You weren’t quite sure how you’d managed to engineer this situation, but you were worried that if you thought about it too hard, you might end up losing it. Somehow, on a coach to Amsterdam, you’d ended up wedged between a window and Jamie Tartt and despite that being the stuff of nightmares only about a year ago, now it was something you couldn’t have hoped for in advance.
“I said I’d save a seat for ya, didn’t I?” he’d claimed proudly when you shimmied past him to sit in the window seat.  He’d been smiling hopefully at you as he patted it when you’d walked down the aisle of the coach. You’d thought you’d be sitting with Rebecca at the back until he’d tugged at your wrist to stop you in your tracks.
“To be totally transparent, I thought you were joking,” you murmured to him once you were settled, bag tucked underneath your seat, “You also said the same to Roy yesterday, and I heard you saying it to Sam this morning.”
“Yeah, but I was fuckin’ with them,” he says, like it’s the most obvious thing in the world, “Besides, we have a whole conditioner campaign to plan, right? Now’s as good a time to start as any.”
You tried not to let your heart sink a little. Of course it was work-related. You’d just have to be happy with the grin he was sporting as he nudged your arm.
“You’re on,” you grinned back, then, with a show of boldness, “But only if you promise not to complain when I inevitably fall asleep on you later.”
If anything, his grin grows wider.
“Shoulder’s all yours, love. I’m told it’s pretty comfy.”
“Who’s told you that? Roy?”
He rolls his eyes, but it’s too fond. You busy yourself trying to manoeuvre your laptop out of your bag, but a hand on yours stops you in your tracks. When you look up, Jamie’s face is soft and he’s tucking your laptop away again.
“Relax. The coach’ll take hours yet. We can get comfy first, yeah?”
“You’re right,” you concede, shuffling into the back of your seat again with a content sigh, “Don’t know why I’m pretending to be eager to work.”
He laughs and you join in. You want to tell him he’s got a downright infectious laugh these days, because its lighter than ever and always filled with genuine happiness, but you don’t. Too much. Instead, you push up on the back of the seat in front of you to tap Dani urgently on the shoulder, then sit down quickly and turn a fake-reprimanding glance at Jamie.
“What is it, amigo?” he directs his question towards Jamie who’s looking incredulous, “Or are you playing a cheeky prank?”
You tut and sink further into your seat as you shake your head at Jamie. He begins to point at you, but Dani is already ruffling Jamie’s hair and turning back around as he mutters happily in Spanish. Jamie turns to you, brows furrowed.
“So that’s how it’s gonna be, eh?”
You shrug, as playful as you can manage with your heart beating a little harder in your chest. He narrows his eyes at you, then settles into his seat, and you know he’s plotting revenge. You can’t wait.
---
It’s been an hour and a half, and you and Jamie have been going back and forth almost the entire time, the very idea of doing any work on his new ad campaign buried in favour of having fun. Jamie had snuck your phone from your lap and prank called Ted who was sat at the back of the bus. You’d then somehow managed to do the same with Jamie’s phone, but decided to send a rather inflammatory text to Jan Maas, which was followed by a half hour argument between the two men that was incredibly entertaining.
Most recently, Jamie had made a terrible noise putting his mouth to his elbow and blamed it on you, but luckily Sam had seen him do it and you’d been able to clear your name. It had been a stellar effort though, so you were giving it some time before you found something perfect to retaliate with.
“Can I ask y’ something?” Jamie spoke suddenly, but his voice was softer than you’d heard it on the journey so far. You turned to him and nodded encouragingly, “I was jus’ sat here wonderin’ - and please don’t take this the wrong way - but why y’ decided to come with us? I’m happy about it, ‘course I am, but-“
“I get it, Jamie,” you said quickly, because you could see how much he was struggling. It was heartwarming how earnest he was when he’d said he was happy you’d come with them though, and you were fighting an urge to lean in and kiss his cheek to stop his rambling, “I’m not exactly essential personnel for a trip to Amsterdam.”
“Fuck, that’s exactly what I was tryin’ not to sound like - wait, y’ don’t really think that do ya?”
“Jamie, seriously, stop worrying! It’s sweet but so unnecessary. Hannah, you know the one that usually handles socials? She couldn’t make it so Rebecca asked if I’d fill in. I’m not one to turn down a free trip with some of my favourite people.”
His smile was genuine until the last sentence, where it morphed into something cocky as he puffed his chest.
“You wanna name any of those favourite people of yours?”
You bit the inside of your cheek as you pretended to think about it. God, it felt like it would be so easy to admit that you’d jumped at the chance to come because you jumped at any chance to spend time with Jamie these days, but you couldn’t. There were hours of this bus ride left to sit in awkward silence if he didn’t take it well.
“Well, Ted’s gotta be right up there,” you began, shifting in your seat to look around the bus, “Sam, of course, and, god, Colin is a must. Rebecca, obviously-“
“No one who’s last name might happen to rhyme with a part of the body, or somethin’?”
You scrunch up your face in fake confusion. It’s easy to imagine doing this forever, just playing pretend with Jamie Tartt for the rest of time, and you’ll play along as long as he lets you.
“Ohhh you mean Jan Maas? Rhymes with ass, very clever. Didn’t know you were such a poet.”
“I dabble, me,” he deadpans, but neither of you can keep it up as you dissolve into giggles. Jamie pulls his cap further down his forehead to hide just how much he’s cracking up and you tuck your face down - no need to have the rest of the bus trying to get in on the joke. When you both calmed down, he turned, looking back up at you from under his hat, “Very quick by the way. Jan Maas, ass. You’re good, you are.”
“You’ve only just noticed?” you asked incredulously, intent on teasing him just a step further, but he takes his hat off to look at you properly when he answers, running his hand once, twice through his hair first, of course.
“Nah,” he replied, voice that soft whisper that you’d come to crave, “Y’ wanna know when I noticed?”
You swallowed thickly, leaning into him in the same way he had, all conspiratorial and close.
“I dunno. Do I wanna know?”
Jamie ignored you and continued, eyes flitting from your face to a thread on his joggers he was picking at.
“It was when I’d just come back to Richmond an’ everyone was mad at me. Rightly so, I know. But I was sat in me car, havin’ lunch cause no one would eat with me yet. You were walking past with Rebecca going to lunch and you waved at me, with this mad bright smile on your face y’know?”
“I may have a vague memory of that,” you said, as if seeing him alone in his car hadn’t broken your heart at that time.
“An’ then the day after, when you ate in your car an’ invited me to join. I knew y’ were only doin’ it for me, but I didn’t care. I jus’ remember being so grateful. So, so grateful. That’s when I knew you were…”
He trailed off, but he was stuck staring at your face. You could feel the heat sparking down the length of your spine as he seemed to search your expression for something. His own was unreadable.
“…good?”
It was like you had snapped him out of a trance and somehow you wished you hadn’t said anything.
“Good, yeah, that’s what I mean,” he murmured, then seemed to let that cocky mask fall back into place, “You wanna tell me when you realised I was good now so I don’t just sit here like a prick? Or, let me guess, you’re still waiting for it to happen?”
Despite the teasing tone, you somehow knew this wasn’t an opportunity to joke. There was a newfound vulnerability in Jamie that you were always careful not to tread on; it was such a welcome change after all.
“Nope, I know exactly when it was. I walked past the boot room one day, a couple weeks before we had that first lunch I think, and you were making sure things were tidy enough for Will to sort. There was nobody to watch you do it, either. I just knew that you were a different Jamie. That you were…good.”
Good didn’t cut it at all. You’d sworn then and there that you were going to help him find his way at Richmond whatever it took, and eating lunch in your car just so that he could join you a few weeks later felt like a good start. It had been. As Jamie worked to gain the love of his teammates, he had you as a constant sounding board, willing lunch partner and occasional movie night holder. He wasn’t invited over often, not wanting to seem too eager, but he’d never turned you down.
Yes, that was the moment you’d realised he’d changed, but there had been a million moments since that had turned him into the first person that came to mind when he’d asked you for your favourite person on the bus.
Now he wasn’t meeting your eyes at all, fully trained on that thread he’d been picking at. You sighed and flicked his hand to stop him ruining his favourite pair, and he finally looked up at you, wide puppy eyes that always made you melt when they showed up.
“You really mean that?”
Rather than replying, you hold out your pinky to him and watch his smile grow as he twists his own around yours. You let it linger then lean in to kiss your own hand and gesture for him to do the same. He does it so tenderly you think you’re getting lightheaded.
“Every word,” you assure him, settling back into your seat and untangling your hands from each other, “Now that I’ve been so nice to you, think I can cash in that shoulder offer from earlier?”
It was easier to revert to the easy banter than continue down this sincere path. And even though it was only just beginning to get dark, you couldn’t look at him any longer. Maybe if you were resting on his shoulder, you could grin for a bit without him wondering what was wrong with you.
He patted his shoulder invitingly and you snuggled down into it, until your cheek was smushed into his jacket and you could smell the cologne radiating from him. You threaded an arm into the crook of his elbow without thinking, just because it was more comfortable, but when you moved to take it away, he rested his hand on yours to keep you there. That same hand then came up to tuck a stray strand of hair behind your ear, staying to cradle your head for a moment.
You held your breath.
He quickly thought better of leaving his hand there, squeezing your head for just a moment before dropping his arm back to his side.
It took a while to breathe naturally again, especially knowing he’d feel every painstaking inhale and exhale against him, and it took even longer for your eyes to close and to finally drift off.
---
When you woke up again, you had to squint as your eyes adjusted to the almost total darkness of the coach. It had to have been a couple of hours. You wiped your mouth to ensure you hadn’t drooled on your very kind seat partner then risked a glance up at him without moving your head too much.
He looked asleep. His chin was tucked against the crown of your head, and his whole body was turned into yours in a way it hadn’t been when you’d fallen asleep. There was nothing that would make you want to move and disturb the moment, except for the unfortunate cramp in your neck you were simply going to have to stretch out.
You tried to gently ease your head out from under his but his eyes fluttered open immediately as he looked at you in concern.
“Y’alright love?”
That voice. Huskier and broader than ever in its newly woken state. You smiled up at him and whispered back, noticing that the rest of the bus were either asleep or resting as you stretched your neck.
“Didn’t mean to wake you, sorry. You can have my shoulder now if you like, ‘s only fair.”
“Nah you’re alright. If you’re awake, I’m awake. What kind of seatmate would I be if I left you on your own, hm?”
“A normal one?” you offered, but he shook his head, holding a hand to his heart as if wounded.
“I will not have myself being described as anythin' but fuckin' extraordinary, please,” he insisted quietly, making you chuckle, “Did ya sleep well?”
“Very. Whoever told you that you have a comfy shoulder was annoyingly right.”
There was a note of jealousy in your tone that you didn’t expect to be there when you started talking. If Jamie noticed it, he didn’t say anything, even though you could have sworn you saw a smirk pass across his features.
“Well, I’ll let Colin know you agree with him,” he said matter-of-factly, and you wondered if he was telling you it was Colin on purpose. It was so difficult to second guess your every interaction with him, feelings getting stronger every minute you spent with him. Really, you were tired of it and tired in general and it was enough. Your usual caution had been left behind. You opened your mouth to speak, to maybe finally confess, but he was talking before you could begin.
“Actually, can I tell ya a secret?”
It took you a moment to recover from what you had been about to say and respond to him.
“Uh…yeah, of course. Anything, you know that.”
“I do, yeah. Yeah, that’s part of it actually,” he was so in his head, but he was looking at you like he had earlier, searching for something. Nowadays, he looked so soft all the time, but there was a selfish part of you that hoped maybe he was especially soft with you, “It’s about what we said earlier. I lied to ya, and I’ve been fuckin’ kickin’ meself for it ever since.”
“You lied?”
“Yeah. I said the day we had lunch in your car was when I realised you were good. That’s not true,” he admitted, as if he was saying something shameful, “I already knew you were good, way before I was done bein’ a full-time prick. Anyone could tell you were good.”
Your heart was hammering away in your chest, in your throat, in your ears.
“That day in the car park was actually when I realised you were just…fuckin’ incredible. Like, the most beautiful person I know. Not just fit, I knew you were fuckin’ fit, I’ve got eyes, but like- y’ were just somethin’ else. You are somethin’ else. Special, like.”
You felt frozen in your seat. It was hard to tell with how 'Jamie' the whole speech had been, but you were pretty sure there was a confession in there. It didn’t sound like something he’d say to any of his mates. Still, you had to be sure.
“Sorry, Jamie, I might be being thick here but are you saying you’re like…into me? Like, romantically?”
You cringed instantly at your choice of words but he didn’t falter. This time, when he laid his hand over yours, he kept it there, stroking a steady rhythm into the back of your hand.
“I’m saying I’m into you in like…all the ways y’ can be into someone. I’m fuckin’ mad about you, Y/N. The only one who doesn’t see it is you, but you fell asleep on me shoulder and I was in fuckin’ heaven so I’m telling ya. Look, I’m not expectin’ anything-“
“Well, you should. Expect things, I mean,” you cut him off, because you can’t go another second without reciprocating, “I thought you saved me a seat to talk about your conditioner campaign.”
He scoffed loudly then glanced around to check he hadn’t woken anyone as he lowered his voice again.
“I couldn’t give a shit about all that,” he said as firmly as he could whisper, “I give a shit about you. A lot of shits.”
You let out a breathy chuckle as you reply.
“God, I give so many shits about you, Jamie. Too many shits. Have done for fucking forever, I was just about to tell you.”
“What, before I did?” he said, making a face, “As if I’d let you steal my thunder.”
You take an opportunity and a boldness you can’t help but seize as you take his face in both hands and pull it towards yours until you’re both a breath apart. He closes his eyes and pushes towards you but you keep him just a moment away, stroking a trail along one of his eyelids.
“Well I think you’re fucking incredible too. Prick,” you mumble, without any venom. It sounds like the most loving pet name in the world, the way you utter it for his ears only.
“Yours,” he counters quietly, winding his arms around your waist until he can pull you fully onto his lap and you have to bite back a squeal. You both glance around for onlookers and find none, “Think the coast is clear, babe?”
“Crystal,” you insist, surging forward to press a searing kiss to his lips, gratified when he responds just as enthusiastically, pushing back into you, both hands clutching at you like you were about to disappear any moment.
There were still plenty of hours left on the coach, however, and you were content to stay exactly where you were as long as Jamie would let you.
And there was no chance of him letting you go anywhere.

Week 1
It's the one month anniversary of me joining the BAU, and ever since I've had the biggest crush on a certain genius doctor. I've tried to ask him out but he never gets the hint and always ends up bringing the others to any “date” I plan. So now I've decided to speak to him in a language that, hopefully, he'll understand.Code, but in a cute way. I'm going to bring in an arrangement of flowers to put in the conference room every week. Each one with flowers representing my feelings towards him. So, to celebrate my 1 month-iversary im bringing a collection of forget-me-nots, lavender, and daisies, hoping mr.genius will finally get it.
The sound of Derek’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts “Hey mama, one month with us how you feelin’? Wanna run away yet?” I rolled my eyes at his playfulness. “Not yet but you’re makin me want to. No but seriously I've loved it here more than anywhere else and although it gets crazy sometimes I wouldn't trade it for the world.” Derek laughed while pulling me into a big hug which I returned gladly. “Ooh hugs! I want in!” I let go of Derek and before I got a chance to react, I felt Penelope engulf me in her arms. “Oh congrats on one month, love! Never leave us!” I smiled against her. “Flowers? For me? You shouldn't have” I hear Emily’s voice accompanied by JJ followed by the click of their heels. “Ha ha very funny. No, they're for the conference room, I felt we needed some brightening.” I explained as we made your way to the conference room. “There, they look beautiful.” I set the vase of flowers in the middle of the table admiring my work. They're in the middle, he cannot miss them.
Spencer walked into the conference room and couldn't help but notice the arrangement of flowers you had brought in and wonder if there's a deeper meaning to it all. He remembers your earlier words about the craziness of the office and the pattern of florals seemed to suggest bringing peace and calmness to the office, along with a hint to the deeper feelings of admiration and loyalty. He wondered who do you admire?
Week 2
While trying to find an unsub, I got thrown onto the floor and kicked in my ribs. My wrist and ribs were broken. I got away when Morgan tackled him but I was still not able to stand up, or move. I felt a pair of hands hold me. “Are you okay? Oh God, you’re hurt,” Spencer muttered, I tried to sit up, wincing as pain shot up my side. “I’m fine,” I lie, though the sharp ache in my wrist and ribs says otherwise. “Just… a little roughed up.” “Fine?” Spencer repeats, his voice rising in disbelief. “You’re bleeding, your wrist looks broken, and you just took on a guy twice your size.” His hands gently press against your ribs, and you can’t help but hiss in pain. “That’s not fine.”
We make it out to the medics and they take me to the hospital. After waking up in a hospital room I see Spencer standing over me. “You scared me,” Spencer says quietly, his voice barely above a whisper. “When I heard you scream, I- I thought…” He cuts himself off, his jaw clenching as he fights to keep control of his emotions. I reached out with my good hand, gently touching his arm. “I’m still here, Spencer. I’m okay.” I looked into his eyes, the soft brown making me melt. I feel him squeeze my hand gently, there's no one else I'd rather be with at this moment.
I came back to work after a week off, demanded by Hotch of course. This week I chose an arrangement of peonies, baby’s breath, and sweet peas. “How are you feeling?” I see Hotch, his face sporting his signature frown with his eyes laced with concern. “I'm feeling good. I think writing might still be a problem but pretty good for the most part.” I nod assuring him. “Ooh yay! More flowers! I've missed these.” I laugh at Penelope’s words. I walk into the conference room to find Spencer already in there. After setting the vase down, I make my way over to where Spencer is and before he can react I engulf him in a hug. I feel his hesitancy, the way his body stiffens at my touch but I don't let go. I slowly feel him relax and wrap his arms around my waist. “I- uh-” he stammers, his voice soft and uncertain. “Are you okay?” I nod against his chest, unable to find the words at first. “I just…” My voice wavers, “I needed to thank you. For everything. For saving me.” His brow furrows in concern, “You don't need to thank me. I would do it again in a heartbeat.” His voice is soft, I can feel his breath against my forehead. I look up at him “Spencer,” I whisper, my voice quiet. “You don’t have to be scared.” He smiles at me in assurance.
While the briefing is going on, Spencer once again studies the flowers. He sees you’re grateful for the kindness and support shown by the team. The sweet peas show gratitude, peonies represent compassion and the babys breath represents love. He smiles to himself thinking about the message you're sending.
Week 3
Last night we went to Rossi’s for a wine and pasta night. It was the first one since I had joined the team and it was amazing. The laughter, easy conversations, the smell of wine and garlic in the air. It was the first time I had seen everyone on the team so relaxed, even Hotch was smiling. During the night I had seen Spencer so happy and smiley. I caught him a few times staring at me, it made me so shy and it wasn't just the wine. That night wasn't just amazing because of Rossi’s expensive wine and amazing pasta, it was finally feeling a part of the team, and seeing everyone so happy. So this following monday I decided to bring in a warm and bright arrangement of sunflowers, chrysanthemums, and snapdragons. I smiled seeing it in the centre of the table.
Spencer walked into the conference room excited to see the new arrangement you had brought in for the week. He takes in the pattern of warm colours, the sunflowers standing out the most. He studies the message you're sending, the sunflowers representing loyalty and adoration perhaps towards the team, and chrysanthemums representing friendship. You caught him staring at the flowers, it made you smile knowing he understands what you mean.
Friday of Week 3
I walked into the office today, it is a paperwork day so it's going to be slow. I always get to the office a little early, not earlier than Hotch or Spencer but I'm always the 3rd one there. As I walked up to my desk, I noticed a bouquet of flowers, red roses, white lilies, pink tulips, and baby's breath all wrapped in baby pink and white tissue paper. I smiled at the beautiful arrangement, my heart skipped a beat at the sight. “Y/n..” Spencer’s voice startled me out of my thoughts. I turned to see him standing a few feet from me, his hands fidgeting nervously with a mixture of uncertainty and anticipation on his face. “Spencer,” I whispered, smiling as I looked at the bouquet in my hands. “Did you- are these from you?” He smiled softly “I—uh, yeah,” he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper. “I wasn’t sure if it was too much. You always bring us flowers, with secret messages, so I thought I'd return the favour…” Warmth filled my chest, the thoughtfulness, the way he had chosen each flower with care-it was perfect. So Spencer.
“You noticed…” He nodded at my words “Ofcourse, I figured it out the first time you brought them in, and I've been trying to tell you somehow…” I looked at him shocked. “You didn't have to say it with flowers, but I'm glad you did.” I teased gently. He stepped closer to me, taking my hands in his. “Maybe next time I’ll say it with words…” His voice soft but steady, I smiled, my heart racing just a little faster. “I think I’d like that.” I felt his lips on mine, he kissed me gently. I smiled into his lips,
“Woo hoo finally, pretty boy and pretty girl,” Morgan’s voice rang through the office, we broke apart at his words. “Dammit I had 2 more weeks, you guys couldn't wait?!” Emily whined, throwing her hands up dramatically, “What you guys had a bet on us??” I exclaimed watching her, Penelope and Morgan handing 20’s to JJ.
“Of course we did,” Emily said, shrugging with zero remorse. “It was inevitable. We just didn’t know when.” JJ smirked, folding the bills into her jacket pocket. “I had faith in you two. I knew it would happen sooner than later.”
“We’ve all been waiting for this to happen. Took you two long enough.” Rossi teased. “Congratulations to you both” Hotch added, giving us a rare smile. Spencer looked at me, and I could see the same joy in his eyes. “Thanks, Hotch,” he replied, his voice soft but steady. I looked at Spencer, and with each passing moment, I felt more and more grateful for this chance at love, and all it took were flowers.

Tumblr media
Back when you went to school, you always woke up to the cooing of the pigeons that lived in the tree outside your childhood bedroom. They announced the new day, which was filled with learning, friends and fun. True, the time of your graduation had been incredibly exhausting, but in all the summers that followed, you woke up in the morning to the same sound and nostalgia felt like an old friend.
But now it's mid December. There are no birds outside whose chirping might wake you in the morning. And yet you've been lying awake in your bed for an hour.
All night you've been thinking. Charles apparently didn't try to break into the bedroom to kill you. You haven't heard any strange noises all night. But deep sleep was still out of the question with a complete stranger sleeping on the couch one room over. He did seem nice last night - after you had talked things out halfway - but the "nice guys" are also the worst in the end.
After all, you had to experience that firsthand.
Hands clasped behind your head, you stare at the white ceiling of your room. Your cell phone is lying next to your pillow. Some time ago, you lost it somewhere in your bedspread, and when you had to shake it out, the phone flew into the nearest wall. Since then it has its permanent place near your head.
A quick glance at it tells you that Charles will theoretically be asleep for just under two more hours - if you can believe him. Normally, you'd be getting ready for work right now and eating breakfast. Maybe you'd fry up some fried eggs or make some yogurt with berries. And then you'd go to work in peace.
Frustrated, you put your forearms over your face.
Right after you woke up, you googled for new job openings, but except for a new dog-sitter job posting, there doesn't seem to be anything new. Nothing at all. If the job were advertised with a reasonable salary that would allow you to continue financing your life in Monaco, you'd think twice about applying.
Finding a job that suits you, is fun, and pays a good salary is incredibly difficult. Almost impossible. When you were younger, you once saw a picture of a triangle on the internet. One corner said "friends," the second said "good grades," and the third said "sleep." The caption read "You can only choose two." That's exactly how job hunting feels.
You wouldn't tell Charles about it. Your unemployment, like his affairs, is private. If he asks, you'll simply say you're off because the company requires its employees to take vacation days in December. Doesn't sound convincing, but at least it doesn't completely suck.
Oh God, hopefully he won't ask.
As your stomach speaks up with an almost embarrassingly loud bubbling sound, you can no longer suppress your hunger. You slip out of bed and change from your sleep outfit - a big shirt and comfy sports shorts - into a pair of jeans and a comfy sweater before quietly turning the key in the door lock.
The rest of the apartment is silent. You sneak into the bathroom on your socks to brush your teeth and quickly comb your hair. As you slip on your shoes at the front door, you glance toward the couch to make sure you weren't dreaming last night.
The fact that a stranger is suddenly standing in your apartment, claiming that it is his apartment, sounds very far-fetched. And that he then spontaneously starts cooking sounds even more implausible.
But you didn't imagine it. Charles is lying with his back turned to you between the pillows, the blanket tangled between his legs. He seems to be sound asleep, because when you open the apartment door, he doesn't move a bit.
After taking a good look at the dog-sitting job this morning - two cute dachshunds, Hubert and Guenther - you had drawn up a chart of the things your new roommate and you would need to discuss.
Cleaning the apartment, for example. Since you'd still be staying in the bedroom, you'd obviously keep the room clean. Maybe you could also clear out a drawer in the dresser for Charles to put some of his things in, so he doesn't have to live out of a suitcase. But it's definitely too early for that. After all, you've only known each other since yesterday.
Although the morning has just begun, the sun is shining pleasantly warm as you walk to the nearest bakery. Having breakfast together definitely can't hurt if you plan to get to know each other better so that your shared apartment can function well. As long as Charles doesn't kill you and gets a little involved as far as organization goes, you'll be fine. Last night he already said that there are some things that need to be discussed today. And as long as the organization and in the end also the execution is not only dependent on you, the ship will probably not sink.
Marie, the incredibly nice saleswoman who gives you a small, free piece of cake every Saturday, bags you two pain au chocolat and two croissants before you pay and she wishes you a nice day. While you don't know what Charles likes to eat for breakfast - if he eats breakfast at all - you're certainly not barking up the wrong tree with the pastries. Besides, breakfast isn't just about getting to know each other better and getting some structure, but you'd also like to apologize. For being willing to hit him over the head with the newspaper.
You quietly enter the apartment, only to find that Charles is already awake despite the time - 8:13 a.m. He's sitting on the couch with his elbows on his knees, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes as you close the door behind you. His brown hair is sticking up from his head, and he wearily runs a hand through his strands before looking at you.
"Bonjour." His voice seems to have dropped an octave since last night, and it's rougher than yesterday, too, which is probably due to waking up. His gaze moves from your face to the bags in your hand. "Petit déjeuner?" Breakfast. You nod. "Pour nous deux?" For both of us? Again, you nod. Charles closes his eyes briefly before rising from the couch. "Give me a moment. Be right back."
While he's in the bathroom, you put two plates on the dining room table and add everything that could be used for a good breakfast. You quickly rinse the dishes Charles put in the sink yesterday and put them away.
When your new roommate rejoins you, he looks more awake. He sits down across from you at the table and reaches for a bag. As he grabs a croissant, he looks briefly surprised, but you're too distracted by the pillow print on his cheek to notice.
"How did you sleep?" he asks as you take a bite of your pain au chocolat.
You swallow. What are you supposed to answer him? That you slept fitfully all night, afraid he might be a murderer after all? Would be a great topic of conversation to start the day.
"I don't know," you answer neutrally. Charles tilts his head. "I mean, it was kind of weird knowing that someone completely foreign was sleeping just one room over."
"I'll bet." His smile is faint, but genuine. Little dimples bore into his cheeks. "Maybe we should make sure we're not particularly strangers to each other then. After all, we'll be living here together for quite some time. And I'd hate to be responsible for you not getting a decent night's sleep."
"It's okay," you answer him. "I haven't slept properly in ages."
"I'm always told that a good night's sleep is important. That's why mine is sacred to me." He rubs his free hand over the dark stubble on his chin. "Besides, it's not healthy not to sleep soundly. From that point of view, it's worth a try to me. And I'd hate to be responsible for your poor sleep.
Most of all, you'd like to tell him that while his presence unsettled you last night, he's not the reason you can't rest, or sleep through the night. That he's not responsible for you falling asleep late and waking up early. But you don't. Because it's none of his business.
"While we're on the subject -" you put your pain au chocolat on the plate in front of you, "why are you up already? Did I wake you up? I swear I was trying to be really quiet, but -"
"I got a call," he says curtly. "Until you were standing in the doorway, I didn't even know you were gone. So, everything's cool." The smile is gone from his face. Apparently, his caller is just as popular as the one you pushed away last night. Or maybe he's just tired.
Since it's none of your business, you try to distract him. "So, Charles. How about it? What else is in you besides being able to cook? What do I need to know about you?"
Charles Marc Hervé Perceval Leclerc turned twenty-five in October, born and raised in Monaco. He has two brothers, one of whom is older than him and the other younger. He speaks English, French and Italian and does a lot of sports. He likes to eat pasta, but his nutritionist - who the heck has a nutritionist? Someone who can afford to have a second home in Monaco, of course - always advises him against it.
He also travels a lot for work reasons. On his cell phone he has a lot of photos that he has taken in different countries and to be honest, you are already a little envious. Except for your home country and Monaco, you've never been anywhere else. What would you give to be able to travel so much? A dream that will probably remain denied to you, if your bank balance is to be trusted.
Some of the photos, he confesses, were taken by Joris - your Joris. You knew Joris was also a photographer by trade, and judging from the pictures, he's incredibly good at what he does. Apparently, the two of them travel together more often. Either the two are best friends or Joris is Charles' personal photographer. Or both.
He won't tell you exactly what the Monegasque does for a living, though. "Something with cars," is his answer, and since you have relatively little idea about it, it's quite enough for you. He tells you a lot about himself, and you secretly hope that the information he gets from you will be enough for him, and that he will please not ask about your job.
But there you are mistaken.
"So what do you do for a living?"
The pastries are eaten so you crumple up the bags and throw them in the trash can. You stand up, and as you turn your back on Charles, your face contorts briefly. "I'm a photographer."
You hear Charles rise from his chair as well, stacking the plates. You barely noticeably flinch as he suddenly stands next to you. "And who do you work for?" He places the plates in the empty sink, grabs the sponge and detergent, and begins washing the dishes.
"For a small magazine, nothing wild," you reply curtly, drying the clean plate Charles holds out to you with his foam soaked fingers. It clanks as you put it in the cupboard with the others.
"For that one?" He points with a nod to the magazine lying on the small coffee table. Of course, it's the one you threatened him with yesterday. A wide grin spreads across his face as you roll your eyes.
"Sorry," you apologize, but are secretly glad for the opportunity to change the subject. "What would you do if someone strange suddenly showed up at your apartment?"
"I'd probably threaten to call the police." You don't know how that's possible, but his grin gets even wider and his dimples even deeper.
You have to grin. "Ah, so we're joking about that now? That I was standing there all scared, armed only with a magazine?"
Charles' gaze is amused, but gentle. The green in his eyes sparkles as he looks at you. "Just wrapped in a towel, not to mention. But I'm sure you would have kicked my ass."
Charles stows his bedding in the hall closet while you wipe down the table to clean up the last remnants of your first breakfast together. After fluffing the couch cushions, he sits down and pulls his laptop from his backpack. Stretching out his legs, he gestures for you to join him.
"So," he begins as you sit down at the other end of the couch. You pull your knees to your chest as he waits for you to get comfortable. There are only a few inches between your feet. "I couldn't sleep last night, so I've been thinking about all the things that come up when you have a roommate." He looks up from his laptop for a moment. "Well, actually, I was just Googling."
You're pleasantly surprised that he actually thought about it. And apparently, not just a bit. He's even created an Excel spreadsheet, with weekly plans, tasks, and a financial overview, as far as grocery shopping goes. He included every little detail in his lists.
Very dedicated, the young man in front of you.
"We're summarizing." Charles stretches out his arms and folds his hands behind his head. You've spent an hour talking everything out, going over several possibilities, and finally you've come to a common denominator.
"Since you live in the bedroom, it's also your job to keep the room clean." That was the easiest point. "And that's why it's up to me to clean the living room. The bathroom gets cleaned weekly, on a rotating basis. Since you just cleaned it recently, it's my turn next week."
You come to an agreement that you will buy groceries from the money in the joint household fund - a small cookie jar where you actually stored sewing supplies - and he will cook instead. Since you're more of a frozen pizza kind of person and his nutritionist sends him a weekly meal plan, Charles also wants to put more money into the household fund. The fact that you benefit from both the meal plan and his generosity doesn't seem to bother him.
"That settles the organizational stuff," he finishes, setting his laptop aside. "But we should establish other rules. For the interpersonal stuff."
You tilt your head and raise an eyebrow. "Interpersonal?"
"Yup." He stretches again, and his white shirt slides up a little so you can see a strip of skin from his belly. You quickly look away. "Communication and stuff. So if something's bothering you, please tell me." Charles crosses his arms in front of his chest, his shirt straining over his biceps. "I don't feel like having to ask five times to get you to finally come clean. My patience is definitely too thin for that."
Understandable. Your patience is not quite that thin, but when someone doesn't speak up and then acts passive-aggressively, that's a no-go for you, too.
"Open communication. Got it." You cross your arms in front of your chest as well. "But then please give me a heads up if you're bringing someone home with you. I don't want to come home at some point and be left in just a towel again. And if you do bring girls, I'll stay the night somewhere else." With his looks, you wouldn't be surprised if he didn't have at least five women wrapped around his little finger. Maybe you're crossing a line with the request, but if this whole thing is going to work out, it should be cleared up.
The smile that just now had a firm place on his face disappears. "Don't worry. It's not going to happen."
Apparently you have crossed a line, or rather hit a sore spot. All of a sudden Charles seems tense, the relaxed atmosphere seems to be lost and you would love to take it all back and apologize, but your roommate is faster.
"I don't think we need to talk about privacy. Everyone has their own stuff to deal with. If someone wants to talk about it voluntarily, that's fine, but no one is being pressured into anything here." You nod silently. "And I think honesty is important. I experience so much dishonesty in my job and it makes life so much more difficult and stressful. Just be honest with me, no matter what, and I promise I'll be honest with you, too. No matter what it's about."
The topic of unemployment pops into your head, but disappears again as Charles scoots closer to you on the couch and sits up straight. "We'll work it out. As long as you promise not to murder me in my sleep. After all, I don't have the option of locking myself in a room." His smile has returned to his face. It's faint, but at least it's there.
"You caught that?" you ask, biting your lower lip.
"Like I said, the walls aren't very thick. But I don't blame you." He winks at you. "But I hope I'm not a complete stranger to you now."
He's actually not. True, you haven't talked about much personal stuff yet, but that's sure to come with time. Or maybe it won't. Sharing an apartment doesn't necessarily mean you'll become best friends. And that would be fine, too.
"I'll think twice about locking the door tonight," you quip, and his smile widens. It's so infectious that you follow suit.
"All right. I think we can work this out. I haven't drawn up a roommate agreement now, but we're both adults. We'll stick to the agreements and if one of us thinks of anything else, we'll talk it over and work it out." He holds out his hand for you to shake. "Deal?"
You hold out your hand as well, but before you can shake his, the cell phone in your pocket rings. You pull it out and when you see who's calling you, your smile vanishes in a millisecond.
Why is he calling you? Hasn't he humiliated you enough? Embarrassed you? Made you the joke of your - former - friend group? What does he want from you now?
You press the call away and, frustrated, toss the cell phone between you on the couch and rub your hands over your face. You don't notice that Charles has caught on to the situation until he speaks up.
"Are you busy now?" As you look at him, he's still smiling, but a little softer. His smile doesn't reach his ears now, but the green in his eyes gleams nonetheless.
You exhale loudly. You're out of a job. What could you possibly be up to? "No. Why?"
Charles gets up from the couch. "Then let's do something. I know a really good lookout point. You can see all of Monaco from there."
Whether he actually feels like doing something with you, or is suggesting it out of pity, you don't know. But maybe Charles deserves a little benefit of the doubt. And you definitely don't feel like sitting around on the couch waiting for anything to happen.
"Come on, Y/N," he tries to coax you out of your shell.
"Are you going to take me to a secluded place to kill me? Or are you really going to show me a nice lookout point?" You stand up so that you are facing each other. You have to tilt your head back a little to look him in the eyes.
Charles looks down at you. "Do you really think I'd kill you now, after we've spent ages discussing our shared apartment? Wouldn't that be wasted energy?" He rolls his eyes playfully. "Give yourself a break."
"Fine," you reply to him. You raise your hand and point your index finger at him. "But if that lookout isn't the most beautiful I've ever seen, I may kill you."
Charles laughs. He almost closes his eyes at that. The sound is so heartfelt you have to grin.
"Deal."

jack doohan x female reader, ft one lowkey 18+ joke
"don't you trust me?"
the question burns through jack's chest. the playful smile on your lips tells him that it's all just for fun, but still, there's something stinging about it. he wants to answer with an 'of course', or a 'with my entire life and heart', but he settles for something to match the tone of your voice. "do i have a choice?"
your answer comes in the form of a groan and an eye-roll, settling on the edge of the tub. "just lean back, loverboy."
loverboy. of course. how can he not follow your orders when you talk to him like that?
jack leans back against the wall of the bathtub, tipping his head back to rest his neck against the edge. it's much more uncomfortable than he'd thought, he soon realizes, but he hopes what's about to come is worth the pain.
your best friend has been sick for over a week now, with an annoying fever that seemingly just doesn't want to go down no matter what he tries. when you followed him to the doctors, they said everything looked alright and that he should be getting back to normal in just a few days. you're beginning to believe that that was complete bullshit, though.
you're pretty sure you're wishing for jack's fever to disappear as much as he is himself. not only do you not enjoy seeing him in such a bad state, but he also becomes such a baby when he's sick, as you've recently learned. it's not all that easy to take care of a tall australian manbaby, but someone needs to do it, you suppose. and who better than you?
the other day when you stopped by his apartment to refill his fridge with some necessities and cook him some soup, you just couldn't stop yourself from insulting the greasy hair he was sporting. he answered that he's not got enough energy to wash it properly when he showers, and in a moment of weakness, you found yourself offering to do it for him. so, here you are, showerhead in one hand as the other begins to slowly turn on the water.
you wait for the water to reach a good temperature, not icy but cold enough to hopefully soothe his burning scalp, before shifting to pour the water over his forehead and down over his hair. jack's first reaction is to let out a low hum, eyes fluttering closed at the chillness in comparison to his hot skin.
"you really are an angel, did you know that?" his accent has always had a certain effect on you, though you've always tried to deny it, and your heart skips a beat as he speaks again. "truly someone sent from above."
"shush," you say, shaking your head as you lean over to turn the water off, his hair being completely soaked by now. "just doing another part of my best friend duties."
"just as best-friendly as cooking for me for a week, and tucking me in for my naps, and..." he doesn't need to go on; you know how long the list is.
you reach for his bottle of shampoo – thankfully not a 3-in-1 type with body scrub and car wash included, but still a type that scares you a little – and pour some onto your hands, rubbing them together to spread out the liquid. "i'm just doing what i know you would do for me if i were in your position."
jack's eyes open when you start going through his hair, fingertips working their way across his scalp as you try to reach every inch of hair. he watches you with a thoughtful gaze, studying the concentration on your face intently. suddenly, he's reminded of why he's so goddamn smitten with you in the first place.
you're a total opposite of him – you're so soft. small, too. not just in size, but in personality as well. everything about you is warm and gentle; a huge contrast to his hard, rugged edges.
there's a feeling in his chest again. a tightening, fluttering sensation that feels strangely pleasant. one he's very familiar with by now, one that only appears around you.
it never takes much for your cheeks to grow red around him, and today is no exception. you think you've lasted a long time, though, with the way he's goggling up at you, but it's getting too much. "shut your eyes," you tell him. "you know i can't take it when you stare at me. i can't do my job."
he doesn't answer, and your heart flutters again. your fingers stop moving in his hair.
"i'm going to get shampoo in your eyes, they're going to sting."
"i don't mind."
it isn't until you tug on his hair, enough to go from relaxing to painful (though jack instead finds it quite arousing), that he finally obliges, eyes falling closed and a defeated sigh leaving his lips. "much better."
you begin to wash out the shampoo, and other than the sound of the water now dripping from his hair and onto the floor of the tub again, the room fills up with a hollow silence. he wants to speak up, but can't find any words – which are the right ones when the girl you like takes so much time out of her days to take care of you when you're at your lowest?
jack feels almost strangely... loved. the way that you're doing all of this for him, just because you want to make sure he feels good and clean. in reality, it's such a small gesture, yet it means something.
and a hint of anxiety settles into his chest at the realization that he's actually falling for you.
it's not just the silly little crush that's been brewing inside him for the last twelve months; it's something much more. and much scarier.
"are you kidding me? do you not have any conditioner?" your voice breaks his train of thought and he peeks at you with one eye, still slightly afraid of that whole shampoo-in-his-eyes threat. a grin tugs at the corners of his mouth when he sees the expression on your face, mouth slightly agape and eyebrows raised in pure shock.
"i guess you'll have to go shopping with me to buy a bottle, then."
anything to have a reason to spend more time with you.

✯ this boy is such a ball of energy
✯ so he’d love to dance with you anytime
✯ and while he’s not particularly skilled at more formal dancing,
✯ he knows the general motions so he wouldn’t mess up too much
✯ while you’re dancing, he’ll talk every now and then in a soft voice about anything
✯ like the time he danced around the living room with aunt mito
✯ or what you two should do tomorrow
✯ he’s also gonna praise you regardless of how good you are
“woah y/n! i didn’t know you were such a great dancer.”
✯ as you step on his foot…
killua
✯ you’re gonna have to do some crazy things to get him on the dance floor with you
✯ he just never learned how to dance and doesn’t wanna look silly
✯ but if you’re completely alone and beg him for hours… he’ll give in
✯ hopefully you have some prior experience because you’re gonna be guiding him through the whole thing
✯ honestly he’s never even seen people slow dance
✯ but luckily, he’s already fluid and a quick learner so he’ll pick it up eventually
✯ although he’s not putting in a ton of effort so he does mess up a few times
“you’re doing that part wrong, it goes like this.”
“then why’d you teach me the wrong way?”
✯ when you probably taught it correctly and he just wasn’t paying attention
✯ once you’re done, he’ll tell you how he’s never doing this again, you’re the worst teacher he’s ever had, and now you owe him
✯ but you’re pretty sure it wasn’t as bad as he makes it out to be
kurapika
✯ he’s actually quite good at ballroom dancing
✯ neon probably dragged him to one too many formal events before he decided to learn
✯ but after a long day at work, it’d take a lot of convincing to get him to dance around for the fun of it
“love, you know i’m tired.”
“you’re always tired, just humor me once please.”
✯ unfortunately he has a hard time saying no to you
✯ don’t feel too guilty though because he enjoyed it a lot
✯ the two of you holding one another in comfortable silence, moving to the same rhythm, gazing into each other’s eyes
✯ any negative feelings he had that day completely dissipate
✯ eventually, he comes to a stop, laying his head on yours (or on your neck if you’re taller), giving you a quiet thank you and smile
leorio
✯ he’s not good at dancing, honestly i wouldn’t even ask
✯ on top of that, he’s very stiff and it just doesn’t come natural to him
“you know i’m horrible at dancing, don’t you?”
✯ he’d definitely preface with that, but if you don’t mind, neither does he
✯ and after putting on some music from the seventies, the two of you dance around your living room
✯ you might have to stop occasionally to reteach him a move, but he’s a good sport about it
✯ and good at applying your criticisms
✯ so who knows, maybe he’s half decent by the time you’re done with him
✯ at the end of the night, you joke about entering a competition
✯ and really, he wouldn’t mind dancing in public next time, as long as you’re having fun

“Maybe Rom-Coms Do Come True…”
Vox x Reader x Velvette
You come into the lounge, setting the tray of snacks down on the small table infront of the T.V., your boyfriend and girlfriend already saving a spot between them just for you, smiles on both of their faces, and you couldn’t help but notice how cute they both looked.
Velvette had a matching pink and black P.J. set on, a buttoned short-sleeved shirt, and shorts, with matching slipper with bows on them.
Whilst Vox has just gotten out of work, he was in half-work clothes, half-casual clothes, he still had his dress pants on, but he sported one of VoxTech’s new hoodies.
“Soo…” Vox mumbles under his breath as he fiddled with the remote. “What are we watching tonight?” He asks, turning to both of his partners, his eyes scanning them for an answer.
Velvette’s eyes light up immediately, “We should watch a Rom-Com!”
Vox’s screen rolls back, as he let out a groan, “We watched one last week!” He complained.
“Actually, bitch, you’re wrong! We watched one last time I picked!” Velvette corrected, crossing her arms, leaning forward to get a better look at her boyfriend while she spoke.
“Which was three weeks agooooo! That’s basically the same thing!!” Vox groaned once more, “Let Y/N pick this time! They have better taste than you anyway!”
Velvette jokingly scoffs, putting a hand to her heart, “Well at least I don’t play the same, dumb traffic-light, high school broadway musical!” Velvette retorts.
“Well I’d rather watch that every week than ‘Dance Moms’ or that stupid mafia romance!” Vox argues back.
“‘Heathers’ is a blessing to the musical world, don’t you dare, Velvette!”
“Exactly what I’m saying!”
“Vox you don’t even know anything about ‘Heathers’…” Velvette rolled her eyes.
“So what?!”
Eventually, you guys settled on a Rom-Com, against Vox’s better judgement.
Honestly, you were pretty neutral about Rom-Coms, but tonight was very enjoyable for you.
Between Velvette’s screams about why the protagonist and love interest haven’t kissed yet, or when Vox would boo and throw popcorn at the T.V when something would happened that he didn’t like, it was very entertaining to watch your lovers get so invested into something.
As the movie went on, you and Velvette began to notice that maybe, just maybe, Vox was enjoying the movie after all…
Through all the screams, laughter, and tears of the movie, it really was the best movie night yet, maybe Velvette did have good taste.
But once the love interest and protagonist do kiss, you’re surprised there’s no screams… No screams from Velvette… No screams from Vox…
Your head turns, you notices the limp grip Velvette’s hand has on yours, and you notice that your girlfriend is curled up against Vox’s side, and Vox has a lip arm around you both.
And the only thing you can do, is smile.
Maybe Rom-Coms do come true…

Doh Kyungsoo x f1driver!Reader
Warnings: Swears, a lot of crack
WC: 9.1k (ik, kill me now)
Howdy Cowpeople! This one is... hefty. This wasn’t supposed to be as long as it was but when I get in a groove... I think I made it obvious but I just wanted it to be over L O L. This one is pretty niche, but hopefully it can be enjoyed by both sides as it is a driver!reader.
(I didn't edit this, whoops)

2015
“Can you explain this picture?” The reporter asks, hovering in front of you with a phone in hand. The crappy quality is amplified as they have zoomed into the point where the picture is unrecognizable. You squint your eyes to see it and can’t make out quite what they’re trying to show.
“Sorry, w-what is that?” You ask, drawing back and squinting your eyes, resisting the urge to close them from exhaustion. Whoever decided it would be a good idea to do interviews after nearly 100 continuous laps in some barely held together race car with no break was a sadist. No other explanation.
“Oh! It’s a picture of you in a car with a guy.” The reporter said eagerly and shoved the phone your way. You briefly looked at the camera, an unimpressed look on your face, before turning back to the phone and squinting again.
You paused for a minute and drew back, your face still scrunched up, and exhaled.
“Nahhhhhh.” The drew out word left your mouth.
The reporter’s head tilted and they frowned.
“But it is! It’s you in Seoul after the Japanese Grand Prix!” He continued, looking very determined. You plastered a confused expression on your face.
“I’ve never been to Seoul before.” His face dropped and he turned back to his phone, as though trying to rationalize what he was hearing.
“Have you just taken a picture of… two random people in a car? To me it honestly doesn’t even look like anything cause it’s so zoomed in but to each their own.” You finished your words with a shrug.
“No, my source told me that that was 100% you! They said they saw you get in the car at the airport.” He continued on, undeterred by your flat disregard.
“I hate to say it, your contact’s wrong. I’ve never even set foot in the country.” You shrugged before turning to your PR manager who was gesturing for you to leave, with rather forceful movements. That was to clue you in that you were in trouble. With her personally or with the boss man, you didn’t know.
“Lovely to see you again, though.” You smiled and held your hand over. The interviewer tentatively took it and you exchanged good-byes before you turned around and left to go onto more interviews. The glance you exchanged with your PR manager told you that you were lucky you had not been caught out on your multiple lies and you heaved a sigh of relief to yourself.
Being the only female driver in a heavily male dominated sport was incredibly stressful. Add to that the eyes of reporters trying to find you doing anything remotely weird to spin it into a scandal and you had a lot of things to worry about. Especially since you had just started a relationship with a highly coveted Kpop singer which you were determined to keep under wraps.
You both had a bet running with each other. The first person to reveal the relationship would lose. There was no consequence but your pride, something which both of you had a bit too much of.
And so, a game was born. It simultaneously made you more careful of revealing your relationship while also making it a fun game.
This also meant that you had to start constantly lying to reporters to get out of tricky situations. Surely nothing bad could ever come from this.
Tumblr media
2016:
“How does it feel to be a key contender for the championship?” Asked a reporter, directing it to, of course, Lewis Hamilton, who was sat beside Daniel in a panel of drivers. You were sat on the other side of Daniel, the small desk in front of you reaching for miles on either side.
As Lewis gave the carbon copy response that he had given to every interviewer so far, Daniel leaned over to whisper in your ear.
“I’m surprised they haven’t called him out on that yet.” He then reached for his plastic water bottle and took a sip. You considered this for a second before leaning to his side and answered, not turning your face from the crowd of reporters.
“I’m surprised they haven’t called you out on your disgusting trim.” He jolted forward at this unprompted attack on his hair and the choking sound he emanated drew attention from all in the room, all watching him with curious eyes as he tried to regain his breath.
“You alright mate?” Lewis asked, one of his eyebrows arching.
“Y-yeah I’m fine.” Daniel replied, waving his hand, eager to have attention off of his spluttering. It took a while but eventually all the cameras were aimed back at Lewis, so Daniel took the opportunity to elbow you hard in the side, your reaction being to topple off your chair dramatically. Usually one for the dramatics, you’re not sure you’ve ever seen Daniel want the cameras off him so much.
Hidden behind a small desk, you could only hear the questioning tones calling out your name and see Daniel’s slightly panicked face urging you to get up and back on your chair. With one single hand, you reached for the desk and slowly pulled yourself up.
You released a deep breath as you hauled yourself into your seat and turned to face the crowd of reporters who were looking at you. With a grand hand gesture, you motioned for them to continue with their interviews and turned slightly to Daniel with a smile. He shot you back an exasperated glance before your name was called from the crowd of reporters. You looked towards the reporter and he began speaking.
“So, as you’re the only female on the grid I feel the need to ask, if you could date any of the drivers, who would it be?” The eager face he had contrasted with your entirely unimpressed face. You could hear Daniel begin to start speaking and you could feel the defensive energy emanating from the rest of the drivers on the panel, but before any of them could interrupt with scathing criticism about the misogyny that permeated the question, you replied to the reporter.
“Literally none of them, I’d rather die.” Your response was met with general silence before Daniel started laughing as usual.
“Really? You wouldn’t fancy any of them?” The reporter asked, almost in disbelief.
“No!” You said almost equally in disbelief.
“I’m fine with what I have at home!” You added on after a second.
“Are you saying you’re in a relationship???” The reporter was on the edge of his seat, others shoving their microphones and cameras trying to get a good shot. You dramatically pondered that for a second before replying.
“I wouldn’t say that, I just have other things at home.” You said that and then leaned back, shrugged, and didn’t say anything else into the mic even at the reporters continual uproar as they took in the implications of that statement.
You, luckily, were able to avoid the increasingly weird questions by just not answering and smiling. You weren’t as lucky to miss the smirks thrown your way by the other drivers.
Tumblr media
2017:
“It doesn’t count!” You said in disbelief, aiming it at the microphone of your phone.
“Mmm I’d say it counts.” Kyungsoo replied back teasingly, his voice echoing into your AirPods.
“You can’t go back on your word!! You said it was fine last year!” You were sitting at a table in your company's hospitality, having a conversation with Kyungsoo on the phone, blissfully unaware of the interviews going on outside the building which had a clear view into the small area.
“Yeah but it’s been two years, one of us has to call it quits soon.” Your face contorted before Kyungsoo quickly amended his statement.
“The bet! The bet! Sorry, that came out the wrong way.”
You just shook your head, a small smile growing on your lips.
“You bastard, you had me a little worried.” He scoffed in response. He had been speaking quietly into the phone as he was hiding in a closet in the SM building, taking a break from practice to talk to you. A true charmer.
“As if.” He replied shortly, a loud scuffling heard on his side.
“One second.” He said, as a banging sound came through into your headphones.
“Come on Hyung! Get off the phone and come back before someone else finds you!” Kai’s voice could be heard through the door. A pause before the banging started again.
“Also tell her I said hello!” You giggled at the younger man’s words and Kyungsoo’s sigh in response.
“I’ll call you after the race, do your best, I love you.” Kyungsoo muttered into his phone before shouting back to Kai something about respect and to shut up. It just made you laugh more.
“I love you too, practice well and I’ll call you soon.” You finally said in response after the yelling died down.
“Bye.” He said before quickly tacking on another “love you” and then he hung up.
After he hung up you just stared at your screen for a second with a smile you would 100% not call radiant on your face. It was quickly wiped off when your PR manager popped up out of nowhere and started talking about interviews, causing you to switch to English as you stood up and followed him.
However, the interview still captured your little moment and the conversation preluding it. You knew this because, when you went back to your phone after the race, Baekhyun had sent you a picture of your smile through the tinted glass with a smirking emoji as well as a picture of Kyungsoo on the floor in the closet in the dark talking to you on the phone, not to mention the hounding you got at the next press conference.
Tumblr media
2018:
You knew it was risky to do a live in your own apartment, especially since you were in a completely different country than where you were claiming you were.
But your PR team wanted you to do it, and you couldn’t exactly tell them no, even if you were currently lying to them about your circumstances. You were a bit worried that something unexplainable might happen like the South Korean national anthem suddenly blaring but what you weren’t worried about was the person who you were living with coming back and interrupting your live.
Kyungsoo was at practice and, while you were ok with him skipping it to talk to you on the phone, you didn’t want him to skip it now, as you had been promised a few days without any interruption if he went to every practice. So he was at practice and you were fulfilling all your expected PR duties for the next couple of days, which included the live.
Regardless of your hesitations, you set up your phone on your coffee table facing the entrance to your home and sat on the couch before turning on the live. Immediately people joined, flooding the chat and making your phone vibrate.
“Uhhh hello everyone.” You awkwardly greeted as you tried to think of things to say. Kyungsoo would be fantastic at this, you couldn’t help but think, always having to do live’s with his members.
“How’s everyone’s days been?” You settled on and watched the responses roll into the chat. You noticed a few drivers had joined your live and even a few of the boys from F2 and F3 were watching, which you thought was pretty nice of them considering it was mainly you rambling for around 30 minutes.
Your manager wanted you to do an hour minimum for the live and the time seemed to stretch for years, you continuously making small talk and occasionally replying to comments. You even snuck in a few jokes for the other drivers before, around the 55 minute mark, a sound came from your end.
You furrowed your eyebrows as you wondered where the noise was coming from, looking around the apartment. Quickly standing up, you looked around the apartment, making a lighthearted joke about ghosts as you nervously tried to find the origin of the sound.
You realised that sound was the wrong key being put in the lock as soon as you registered the sound of the correct key being put in.
As Kyungsoo opened the door, you made the biggest leap you think you have ever made. It would’ve had to have been around 4 meters surely. Somehow you had leapt onto the coffee table, knocking your phone down. Kyungsoo was staring at you weirdly as you violently gestured at him to shush. He raised an eyebrow.
“Are you ok?” He asked, his deep voice sounding as lovely as ever. You took a second, contemplating your options in this circumstance before coming to a logical conclusion.
You started to scream.
“GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!!” Kyungsoo’s face shifted to one of confusion as yours was full of desperation.
“YOU CRAZY PSYCHO! GET OUT!!” You continued to yell in perfect English, a contrast from his peaceful question, and gestured for Kyungsoo to close the door, which he did, albeit very confused.
As soon as he closed the door, you maneuvered yourself so that you weren’t facing him and quickly picked up your phone from underneath you.
“Oh my god, what just happened.” You said, showing the camera your roof. You picked up the phone and started fidgeting with it.
“‘Are you ok?’ Yeah I’m fine, I just gotta figure out how to change the locks. I’ll uh.. I’ll get back to you guys. See you later.” You said absentmindedly, as you ended the live.
You paused for a second, sat back on your heels, and sighed, staring up at the roof. The sound of footfalls reached your ears and you didn’t react when Kyungsoo placed a hand on your shoulder.
“I’m not losing this bet.” You mumbled, staring at the ground. An incredulous laugh left him at that as he reached his hand further and brought your face to look at him. A smile that there was no other way to describe but goofy was spread across his face.
“You’re still thinking of that?” He asked and you nodded.
“I take our bet very seriously.” You said before he slightly shook his head, gave you a kiss on the forehead, and moved towards the kitchen.
You picked yourself up and moved to the dining table as he started work in the kitchen. And, as he made a delicious dinner that you both enjoyed, you started to field off your PR team asking who was in your house and ignoring the comments wondering why the guy was speaking Korean in the middle of England.

2019:
It was approximately ten minutes before you had to be in the car and ready to go, and you were half-way there. You had your fireproofs and race suit on and you were being herded towards your car by a crowd of engineers. Strategies and specifics were being directed at you and you could only nod and act as though you were absorbing what they were saying.
Even after four years on the job some people felt they just couldn’t rely on you. Honestly, they should just let you do your thing, you knew what you were doing.
No! God, ever since Kyungsoo had joined the military you’d been irritable and quick to anger on the track. Your poor engineers were trying their best to get through to you, likely because they wanted to keep their jobs, but you’d been incredibly closed off since after you got back from the honeymoon.
Oh yeah, you got married. During a break and right before Kyungsoo was scheduled to start his enlistment, you got married down in a small courthouse with only a few people from either side. You had your family, a few close friends, and a few drivers while Kyungsoo had his family, a few close friends, and the whole of EXO.
It was very emotional and intimate, but that was how you’d describe your relationship so you were very happy with it. You were also extremely happy with the week get-away in the middle of nowhere in New Zealand that followed after, a week of people not recognising both you, farmers markets, and sheep. Lot’s of sheep.
But ever since he’d flown off to do his duty to his country (and shaved his head, no one should look that good with a shaved head) and you’d flown to your next race, you’d been incredibly… angry.
You didn’t know if it had to do with not seeing Kyungsoo for the better part of two years or having that split immediately after the wedding, but what you did know was that it was affecting your racing so you had to snap out of it.
Being dragged back to the present you quickly hopped in the car and performed all of your checks on the steering wheel and adjusted things while people flitted around outside the car, adjusting things and making sure the car was in proper state.
After a quick radio check, the call to start up for the formation lap (you were in P11 after a pretty dodgy qualifying) was relayed and all around you could hear car’s engines coming to life. You glanced at your engineers and snapped down your visor at their nod, starting the car.
Before you pressed the throttle something quickly came to mind. You rapidly gestured for one of your engineers to come close to you, incredibly conscious of all the cars revving around you. The poor engineer almost sprinted to you as you started to fiddle with the zip of your racesuit, the gloves you were wearing prohibiting you from unzipping it.
The engineer's face was comically concerned and he slowly reached forwards before you looked up and grabbed his outreached hand. His face immediately went to one of shock as you made his hand grab the zip and unzip the front part of the suit.
Choosing to ignore the cameras capturing this interaction you continued unzipping it till it lay around your collarbones, hoping the cameras don’t catch any of your naked shoulders. The engineer's face then relaxed as he saw the necklace around your neck and he quickly reached in, almost leaning over the car, to move your necklace around your neck till the latch was in front of him.
He cautiously unlatched the necklace before zipping up your race suit. You immediately relaxed as the pressure around your neck was relieved. Before he could retreat back to the crowd of engineers, you grabbed the hand that wasn’t holding your necklace and slapped it appreciatively with your other hand.
He retreated as you powered up the car and started to move it forwards, letting all the cars that needed to go before go before you started to move.
Your team radio started up as you were leaving the pit lane.
“You all had us very confused there.” Your race engineer said as you started your cruise around the track.
“Yeah, sorry I completely forgot about it. But I thought it was better to take it off.” You said, pressing down on the throttle.
“He better not lose that though. I want that back at the end of the race.” You subtly threatened, suddenly thinking of the rings that were attached to the necklace. You hoped that maybe the cameras hadn’t seen your wedding and engagement rings but you knew there was no chance they hadn’t not captured it. Oh well.
“I don’t know if you’ll get it back by the end of the race.” Your engineer said, her tone almost sarcastic.
“What’s that mean?” You asked, letting the car cruise.
“You’ll probably be killed by your PR team first.” She said bluntly. So bluntly it made you laugh.
“I’ve got a race to focus on.” You reminded her, leaving out the part that you had a race to think of an excuse as to why you have two rings attached to a necklace around your neck.
And you did think of an excuse, wearing the necklace proudly during post-race interviews and saying it was a family heirloom that had been passed on to you by your grandma whenever you were questioned about it.
The moment still went viral though, people questioning the relationship between you and the engineer. It went viral enough to that you had to suffer through teasing by Daniel and his accomplice Max Verstappen (you didn’t know how the kid knew you were married but you suspected it had something to do with an annoying Australian) not to mention the shit being talked in the EXO group chat you were in.
I mean seriously, all of those guys are millionaires, does Chen have nothing else to do with his time than bully the wife of his bandmate?

2020: (sorry Alex)
Somehow you got signed to RedBull on a year contract. Not to say you weren’t grateful for the opportunity but you were definitely a bit confused. But anyway, you let bygones be bygones and now you had a 22 year-old dutch nuisance under your wing.
He was a great kid but god, was he traumatized. You were convinced he’d never seen a healthy family dynamic, so you were more than happy to let him see how you and Kyungsoo functioned. Or at least how you functioned when he was not in the military.
You kind of felt like a life coach for the kid, telling him when he was being taken advantage of or when he should continue with something. You’d been woken up plenty of times in the middle of the night by him drunkenly whining into the phone about wanting to go “home”, something neither of you commented on when he woke up on your couch the next day.
So, safe to say, you’d practically adopted a child without the permission of your husband.
This extended to on the track as well, you’d gotten into a few mild disagreements with Jos Verstappen after his cruel comments which often involved you looking at him angrily and him shit-talking you in interviews about you being a woman. You’d often have to refrain from saying that you’d always be more of a man than him, but alas, you didn’t want to get kicked from your seat.
You knew that Max was extremely appreciative of your dynamic, even commenting on it a few times during interviews, saying that he was very happy to have you as a teammate. After that interview you almost felt like you and his lover, Daniel, were able to give him some sort of an idea of what a normal family relationship should look like.
This sentiment was definitely reinforced when a loud knocking on your Monaco apartment door happened in the early afternoon. It was a weekend with no race, so you were soaking in relaxation. You were having a nice bubble bath after having read for the whole morning, so you were hesitant to hop out of the bath.
The knocking persisted however, and with a sigh, you got out of the bath and wrapped a bathrobe around you before loudly yelling you’d be a minute. You tugged on some sweats which weren’t yours and put your hair in a towel before eventually making your way to the door.
You might’ve taken more than a minute, but it didn’t matter when you opened the door and were greeted with the image of Max Verstappen on his knees, face pressed into the expensive hallway carpet. What a sight to see, the prodigy and most highly anticipated driver of his time, lying face-first on the floor.
“What the fuck?” You asked, immediately crouching down to his level after a quick glance to see that none of your neighbors had left their apartments to check on the banging (pretentious, self-concerned people).
You rolled him over, your confusion doubling as you took in the remorseful look etched across the young man's face, almost tripling as you took in the barely concealed tears in his eyes. Your heart ached though and you pulled him up so that he was sitting on his knees.
“I’m so sorry.” He muttered as your face contorted in confusion. What had happened? “Come inside Max.” You said quietly, helping him up from his spot on the floor and leading him inside, locking the door after you both. Leading him to the couch, you left him after putting the throw blanket over his shoulders, and went to make both of you a tea.
You noticed your phone constantly vibrating on your kitchen counter and quickly chucked it on do not disturb, not checking the notifications because you were more concerned with your teary teammate.
After grabbing the teas you made your way to the couch, setting them down on coasters on the coffee table, before sitting on the edge of the ‘L’ piece of the couch, so you were facing Max. You grabbed his hand from his lap where he had been nervously picking at his nail beds.
“What’s wrong Max?” You asked calmly, bringing his hand to your lap to stop him from hurting himself. He looked up at you, a few tears having rolled down his cheeks.
Whatever had happened had fucked him up. You didn’t think it was a fight with his dad, he’d sadly become pretty unresponsive to those. You briefly considered him losing his seat but shook that off, he was doing exceptionally well.
Maybe you’d lost your seat and he was sent to deliver the news. That would make more sense, especially as your phone was blowing up. You hadn’t been performing very well, but you didn’t think they’d drop you from your seat midway through the season, especially during a season as turbulent as this one.
It was the only reason that made sense though, so you prepared yourself for the news that you would be unemployed. Maybe you’d go back to F2 or maybe IndyCar? Or you could just move to South Korea and live there permanently, letting Kyungsoo fulfill his passion for acting and singing while you did a few kart races to occasionally quench your thirst for adrenaline.
That actually didn’t sound too bad, though you’d definitely have to discuss it with Kyungsoo when he got back from enlistment, which meant around 5 months of unemployment. But hey, you had the money and so did Kyungsoo.
Max snapped you from your thoughts of the future by clearing his throat.
“You don’t know?” He asked, curiously glancing up at you. You furrowed your eyebrows.
“No…” You said, conveying your confusion. “Should I?”
“Have you checked your phone recently?” Yep, you were definitely getting fired. You should probably start packing now. Maybe Daniel could get his seat back? You shook your head in response to his quiet question.
“I’ve just been reading all morning.” Max nodded, a small ‘ah’ leaving his mouth as he stared at the floor. He reached for his tea, his hand leaving your lap. You narrowed your eyes at that, following his movements as he sipped, a gasp immediately leaving his throat as he burnt it.
You immediately cussed and sprung up from your couch to grab a glass of cold water, running back to the couch and giving it to Max, watching as he gulped down the glass. When he finished he turned back to you and thanked you, before pausing for a second and bursting into another round of tears. You placed a hand on his shoulder.
“You’re really freaking me out Max. Can you please tell me what’s wrong?” You asked gently, trying to make him catch your eye.
“Promise you won't hate me?” His small voice asked and you internally crumpled at his vulnerable question. Honestly you never thought you’d end up gentle-parenting a teammate like he was a child of yours, especially since you were only like 5 years older than him, but here you were, caring for him like family.
“Yes, I won’t hate you Max.” You repeated as he finally caught your eye. He took a deep breath before starting to speak.
“I was doing an interview for the press and they started asking questions about other drivers and my relationship to them. They then asked about you and I said that I’m really close to you and etcetera.” Ok, seems pretty normal so far. At least you weren’t getting fired, hopefully.
“And they asked if I see you more as a mother figure or a romantic interest.” He said before quickly turning his eyes away. This confused you before you clued in.
“Oh Max.” You said quietly and he turned back to you. “I’m flattered you feel that way but I am married and I am loyal-”
“No, no, no!” He said, louder than he’d ever spoken in the time since he was on the floor. His cheeks had turned bright red as he looked in your eyes.
“No, I didn’t say that I saw you romantically!” He quickly amended and you breathed a sigh of relief, smiling.
“Ok, that’s good! I didn’t want our friendship to be awkward.” You said, looking at him for a response. He just grimaced and averted his gaze. You gestured for him to go on confusedly and he began speaking again.
“And I said more like a mother-figure.” A statement which made you feel positive things you don’t want to address. “Then I may have accidentally said that, even though I haven’t met him, I see your husband as more of a father-figure as well.” He quickly rushed the last part out and you sat, stunned.
The room went silent while you processed what he told you. Fuuuuckkk. How much trouble were you going to be in? I mean the team knew, but this wasn’t something you could pass off as your grandmother's rings. This was undeniable proof that you had a husband. God press days were going to suck after this unless you could somehow make an excuse.
As time went on he seemed to collapse in on himself, the energy quickly switching to something you didn’t like.
“To be honest I thought you were going to tell me I’d lost my seat.” You said and Max’s head snapped up. “What?” He asked, disbelieving.
“Yeah I know, crazy.” You laughed, dragging out the last word, trying to establish a more relaxed aura in the room.
“No, why haven’t you kicked me out yet?” It was at times like this you really wanted to punch Jos Verstappen in the face. You made an over exaggerated confused face, hoping the fact that that had never gone through your mind was on display in your face.
“Max, why would I do that?” You asked, your voice very quickly becoming soothing.
“Why aren’t you mad at me? You’ve spent years hiding this! You should be yelling at me!” He said, standing up. You tried, in vain, to get him to sit down by gently calling him, but he started pacing.
“I’ve just ruined your chances at revealing this yourself, at ever having another peaceful day in your marriage, and all you can do is make a joke?!” He almost started yelling, clenching his fists. You got fed-up and yelled his name, calling his attention to you.
“You’re in my house as my guest. You will not tell me what to do or how to handle situations. Sit your ass down.” You yelled, your voice incredibly commanding. He followed your instructions and sat smally in front of you.
“Max. It was eventually going to come out. I don’t mind. I’d much rather it come off handedly from you than maliciously leaked by a random instagram page.” You said and he looked up, almost looking close to tears. You frowned before bringing the boy up into a hug. You stayed like that for a few minutes before you had to ask a question.
“You didn’t reveal who he was though, no?” You asked, still in the hug. You felt Max shake his head and you silently fistpumped behind his back. It wasn’t your fault, so it technically didn’t count and you hadn’t lost the bet.
You were right, by the way, press days were soon filled with questions about your mystery husband instead of your racing. But it was fine, you were somehow able to twist it as though you’d made a joke about having a husband and Max took it seriously.
Phew.

2021: (sorry latifi)
“And so today you will be reacting to fan edits of yourselves!” The lady behind the camera finished, prompting you and George to look at eachother. It was early in the season and, even though you’d raced together for a few years, you weren’t exactly close, being that before pre-season meetings, you hadn’t ever talked. At all.
This meant he didn’t know much about your personal life or the whole ‘husband’ thing. Which was fine, you’d tell him in your own time, when you felt your friendship was strong enough. He seemed to be a great kid, though you were determined to not adopt another grown child, especially after the look you got from Kyungsoo when you mentioned the fact you may have ‘accidentally’ had Christmas with Max Verstappen.
But hey, they had finally met during February and it was almost like a Dad saying that his daughter can’t adopt a cat while simultaneously cuddling with the cat. Kyungsoo, against his better judgment, had instantly attached to Max and now you were battling for the position of being his favourite driver. Which you were totally not bitter about (you said your favourite EXO member was Sehun in retaliation and he changed your mind very quickly).
Back to the present, the people behind the camera placed a tablet on the table in front of you. It was open on the photo gallery and you could already see some very flattering videos saved to the device.
“You wanna go first?” You asked, and George nodded before picking up the tablet and scrolling through the photo library. He closed his eyes and landed on one. Loud music immediately began playing from the device, you think ‘London Boy’ by Taylor Swift, and you both watched in varying states of horror as photos and clips of him flashed on the screen.
As the video ended you both accidentally made eye-contact. Now, as an almost 28 year old woman, the simple gesture of looking into your teammate's stricken eyes should not have made burst out laughing as hard as you did. But, god, George’s eyes were expressive. In fairness he also did laugh, though he probably was confused as to why you were laughing so much.
After you caught your breath you could only utter out,
“Your face...” Before peeling back into giggles again. He started laughing again as well before putting the tablet down. In doing so, he accidentally swiped the tablet and the Backstreet Boys started playing, an edit of the 2019 rookies playing as the video.
This chain event caused you to start gasping, the sheer ridiculousness of the videos catching up to you. George only took one look at the tears forming in your eyes before he was also wheezing out harsh breaths from laughing.
It took around 2 minutes for you to look at each other without laughing and, for you both to be able to pick up the tablet without giggling, it took another minute or so. You eventually began scrolling through the tablet, laughing at some and ‘aww’-ing at some of the sad ones.
Eventually a video came up with the background music to ‘Give it to me’ by Sistar, an edit of you that was hot but had you gasping at the lyrics.
“What?” George looked over to you, curious as to why there was another noise that came out of your mouth than laughing or a strained ‘why?’.
“The audacity!” You said, as the music continued playing.
“What..?” George asked, more confused than previously.
“Do you want to know the lyrics they’ve just edited me to?” You asked, looking over at him, your voice pretending to be offended.
“What?” He said, his tone changing again to have a sort of goading lilt.
“Will I even get married before I turn thirty.” You said with an air of finality, turning to glare at the camera, your jaw dramatically hung open. George gasped mockingly.
“How dare they!” He said sarcastically and you nodded eagerly.
“I know right!” You responded beginning a stereotypical mean girl impression. “How dare they!” After that little fiasco, you both kept scrolling and laughing (a notable example of this being when an edit of George crying came up, him pushing your shoulders as you continued to laugh).
Eventually the video was being wrapped up and George was preparing to do a sort of sign off when he paused and turned to you.
“I know we aren’t incredibly close…” He started and you prepared for a multitude of questions. You didn’t know him well enough to predict what he might say, so you went over your predisposed answers to questions in your head.
You knew he wouldn’t ask anything uncomfortable, like about your relationship status, or anything really weird, like how many socks do you wash at once. But that left a gaping probability for mildly-weird or mildly-uncomfortable questions. You hoped he wouldn’t ask that, but you were still prepared to be asked if you threw out your receipts or kept them.
“But I didn’t know you knew Korean. How did you learn?”
Oh. Fuck.
You did not have an answer for that. How the fuck did you not have an answer for that? You definitely should have had an answer for that. Oh wait, you didn’t have an answer because you promised yourself not to tell anyone that you could speak Korean so that you didn’t get that question!
The real, close-friends answer was that Kyungsoo had taught you over a range of years and that you’d taken courses so that you’d be able to talk to his friends and family. However you didn’t have a PR approved answer because you’d never thought that you’d need one. Time to put your problem solving skills to the test.
“Uhhhhh…” You said, staring confusedly at George, aware of the seconds that had passed while you were internally monologuing. You hoped your expression didn’t convey the level of gob-smacked that you felt but you think it did because George’s face contorted to be one of worry.
“If that’s a sensitive topic or something you don’t have to answer!” He quickly said as though he was trying to fix the situation. You’d later learn the George thought before your video that you were kind of ‘fucking terrifying’ (his words) and that he was scared he’d screwed up by asking you this and one of his ‘hero’s’ (his words) wouldn’t ever want to talk to him again.
“Nah, nah. It’s ok.” You waved him off, desperately trying to think of something. Oh! You knew exactly what to say.
“Basically I just have this really good friend who is Korean and I asked him to teach me for fun.” You said simply, before realising that wasn’t good enough considering your reaction.
“I was trying to hide how good I’ve gotten to try and surprise him but I guess it’s ok.” You said, a small smile on your face. George relaxed from his tense state and nodded, a small smile playing onto his lips as well.
“Ah that’s cool. Sorry to spoil the surprise.” You waved him off again and he continued the video’s outro.
Another good save, you really oughta be hired to problem-solve. And by problem-solving you mean lying to the media. And George. Poor George.

2022: (yeah the timelines don’t match, don’t call me out pls)
A loud banging sounded against your hotel door. You groaned, dropping the book onto your chest from where you held it up. Glancing angrily at the door, you rolled out of bed and stomped over to the entrance. You ripped open the door and prepared to start reaming the person on the other side before letting out a high-pitched scream.
You were in Japan for the Suzuka GP. You always didn’t like the Japanese GP because, even though you were incredibly close to Kyungsoo, your schedules never lined up so you could never see him.
That fact really grinded your gears, but it’s what you get when you try to schedule something with SM Entertainment. A decisive ‘No.’ What a great company. To be honest, was Willaims really any better?
No. No they weren’t. That mere fact infuriated you enough to make you scream. However, it wasn’t the reason you were currently screaming. That was because, standing in your doorway in the middle of the team hotel, was Kai.
You hadn’t seen him in a few months, you both had busy schedules, so the man appearing on your doorstep was miraculous. You didn’t think of why he was there, or how he got there. You just threw your arms around him and gave him a hug.
“Oh my god!” You screamed, before immediately regretting it and quickly pulling him into your hotel room before someone came out of their rooms and wondered why he was in front of yours.
“Hi!” He said, laughing as he let himself be pushed into your room despite the fact he could pick you up and throw you.
“What are you doing here?” You asked changing your pulling into a hug, squeezing the younger man as though he was your child. You had a serious problem with that, treating men almost your age as children. But Kai was more of a brother than a child, to be quite frank. That distinction just meant that he really really bugged you.
“I have a concert tomorrow and I thought I might just stop in.” He said, a smile on his face. “Though it is only me, sorry.”
“That’s ok!” You said, still in disbelief one of your closest friends was on your doorstep.
“Does Kyungsoo know?” Kai smirked in response to your question. That was answer enough in itself and you slapped Kai on the shoulder.
“You should’ve told him! He might’ve come.” Kai gasped in mock offense.
“What am I not good enough? Would you really prefer your husband that much?” He continued in mock offense and you dead-panned him. He just laughed in response.
“I did have to tell the company I was coming though, and they asked me to film a TikTok with you.” He quickly rushed out and you groaned, staring at the sky. What was up with all of these people wanting you to do TikTok’s?! You had all of your team's PR people constantly chasing you with a camera and now you had Kai asking for a video.
“Fine.” You ground out and Kai grinned, purposely ignoring your annoyance.
“Fantastic!” He said and quickly whipped out his phone, launching into his plans of what to film. Your only artistic input was that he had to cool it on the filters or else you wouldn’t film.
The video started with the familiar sound of Peaches by Kai and a hand knocking on your hotel door, you opening the door curiously. As the chorus sounded, you recorded Kai dancing in your doorway, incredibly aware of the chance of any of your colleagues walking into the hallway and wondering what the fuck was going on.
The video continued after the chorus, Kai recording you slamming the door in his face with a confused expression. The video then ended with a still image of the both of you doing a heart together with your hands and you let Kai go rampant on the filters, hearts and sparkles flying around on the screen.
When you watched it back, Kai waiting at your side eagerly to see your reaction, you did your best to hide the laughing fit you had in reaction to the monstrosity. You couldn’t quite hide the gasps that were leaving you though and Kai frowned.
“It’s perfect. I love it.” You said, through your giggles and he smiled.
“I know. It’s fantastic.” You only nodded because you couldn’t trust yourself to talk, a small whine escaping through your lips at the struggle of not laughing.
“Do you want to see the caption?” He asked and you violently nodded your head.
“Please.”
“P15 but still P1 EXO-L.” He read out and you just hung your jaw open. “You bastard!” You laughed out.
“I put it in Korean as well.” Your only response was to hit him, hard, while still laughing and shaking your head.
“Should we run it by your PR team before posting?” Kai asked, taking a serious note. You looked to him and sucked in air through your teeth.
“Nahhhh.” You replied and he shrugged, and clicked post.
“I should probably tell Kyungsoo you were here before he finds out through the internet.” You said, reaching for your phone. Kai nodded vehemently.
One phone call later, an angry Kyungsoo and an apologetic Kai later, the TikTok was making its rounds and your phone was blowing up, your poor PR agent about to have a heart attack.
On that delightful note Kai left your hotel room, farewelled with a minute long hug and a well-wish for his concert, and you were left to phone your PR agent who just screamed into the phone for 10 seconds before actually speaking.
Of course, during the press releases for the rest of the season, you talked about how much of an EXO-L you were and how close of a friend you were to Kai. This didn’t come without dating rumours but, due to one poorly angled camera shot of your disgusted face when a reporter suggested dating to your face, that was shut down pretty quickly.
Still no one had shipped you with the other EXO members though, so you weren’t even close to losing the bet. (Though you had been asked which EXO member was your favourite, which you responded to with a smirk.)

2023:
It was a good race, you finishing P4 which was a huge improvement since last season. Your team was on top of the moon as were you, smiling from ear to ear. You were currently in the press area, getting asked questions left and right about the car and your performance.
You were adequately responding to each question, sometimes looking questioningly your PR agent when you weren’t sure how to respond. A loud crash sounded through the area that drew the attention of most in the area as a reporters chair fell to the ground. They had jumped up at something on their phone and, like everyone else in the pen, you were wondering what had them so fired up.
Then their eyes darted up and made eye-contact with you. Your internal monologue quickly changed from questioning to a repeated loop of ‘Oh no. Oh no.’ as they advanced your way, moving like a predator stalks their prey. They thrusted their phone under your nose, the shitty little mic attached to it capturing every breath you took and the many cameras in the area capturing your wide eyes.
The reporter addressed you by name before starting to speak.
“Do you know of a man by the name Doh Kyungsoo?” They asked and your world cracked. What on earth had happened? How did they know? All you knew was that it was time for the one acting class your mum had made you take to try and sway you from racing to come to full effect.
“I think he’s from that band Kai’s in, yeah?” You responded after a second of fake pondering. The reporter's eyes narrowed like a hawk.
“You wouldn’t say you were close? Not close enough to get married perhaps?” The reporter asked, clearly trying to stir the pot. Oh my god, was this a prank? How the fuck did they know? How were you supposed to play this off? Would this jeopardize your career?
“Uhhm no…?” You said, incredulously, fixing them a scandalized stare. They sarcastically nodded.
“Oh really? Then what’s this?” They said and shoved their phone closer to your face till you saw a picture of you and Kyungsoo on your wedding day. How did they get this? Had one of your small circle leaked something?
You tried not to let the bewilderment you felt show on your face.
“I’m sorry? Are you trying to pass this off as real? It’s obviously photoshopped! I’m so tired of people trying to fabricate a story of me dating every person I’ve interacted with!” You finally snapped, letting a few years of pent up tension out in this moment. The reporter only continued to smirk.
“Oh really!” They said and you wanted to punch them and their snooty little face. To try and display this, your face fell into one of contempt.
“Is that why this image was posted to Doh Kyungsoo’s official instagram account with the caption ‘Sorry for making you lie to the press for eight years!’?”
They got you there, dam.
Your jaw dropped open, the corners of your mouth rising at the pure hilarity of this situation.
“Excuse me?” You asked, grabbing the phone off the reporter and tapping back onto the post. They were right, Kyungsoo had posted to his official instagram that exact post. It was a carousel post with pictures taken of when you’d lied to the press about him, from the initial lying about being in Seoul to a picture of your ringed necklace to a picture of you smirking after being asked which EXO member was your favourite.
You couldn’t help but release a laugh, your hand traveling to cover your open mouth. Why did he post this?
Wait.
This meant you won the bet. Your head shot up to stare at a camera.
“I won the bet.” You said quietly. The reporter snatched their phone back and stared at you confused.
“What?” They asked and you whipped your head to them, a large smile spreading across your face.
“I won the bet!” You said eagerly, reaching out to grab their shoulders and rock them back and forth.
“I won the bet!!” You ignored how they shook you off, turning to your PR Agent instead and grabbing them and lifting them up. They hurriedly tapped your back as you lifted them, as though signaling you to drop them, but you ignored that and started spinning them around.
“I actually can’t believe it, oh my god!” You snapped out of it and dropped your PR Agent, immediately running out of the media pen and back to your driver room, pulling your necklace out of your racesuit and pulling your rings off, placing them back on their correct fingers.
You quickly packed everything up, ignoring the ringing of your phone as your team tried to get you to go to more press conferences and briefings, and you got out of there, on the first plane to Seoul you could book.
When you arrived, after a long plane trip filled with excitement and pictures being taken of you, decked out in your team's merchandise as you sat buzzing in your seat, your phone was completely blowing up, messages from everyone in your contact list and more. You turned it off (you’d deal with it later) after calling an uber to your apartment.
You were jittery the whole ride, hoping that, despite the time of night, Kyungsoo was still awake. When you arrived outside your apartment building, you felt all the tension in your body ease, and you looked up to see the light on in your window. You smiled and took your suitcase handle in hand and ventured into the building, greeting the old lady at the desk.
Riding the lift up to your apartment nearly had you pacing and you almost ran down the hallway towards your door, quickly knocking. You felt the reverberations in the floorboards as Kyungsoo walked over to the door and a sense of euphoria filled you at the familiarity.
The door was barely open before you launched yourself at Kyungsoo, his heavenly laughter filled your ears as he caught you. You quickly found yourself in a kiss before pulling back and peppering kisses all over his face, finding his giggles more lovely than his singing.
You both pulled back just to look in eachothers eyes and you smiled simultaneously.
“I love you.” You muttered, the happiness from the day finally catching up to you.
“I love you too.” He whispered, tilting his head before going in for another kiss.
Tumblr media
“You know.” He began later that night, when you were just lying in bed cuddling together. You turned your head from its position on his chest to look at him, his eyes remaining on the roof.
“I think I won in the end.” You immediately reared your head back, prepared to object at the sheer wrongness of his answer. He anticipated this though and dropped his hand from where it was combing through your hair to your mouth. He also dropped his head as to make eye contact.
“You stuck by me through everything. Even though you had to lie almost every day and had to listen to millions of rumours about me with other people, you still stayed with me. You learned a whole other language just to know people who knew me. Nothing I will ever say will ever put into perspective how much I appreciate what you’ve done for me. The way you’ve loved me will be comparable to nothing other than how much I’ve loved you.” His heartfelt speech made your head vibrate and a few tears left your eyes at his words, him kissing each one away.
You whined deep in the back of your throat and he released a laugh at your response.
“You could’ve just said ‘I love you’.” You said quietly.
“That’s true too.” He said, pressing a kiss to your forehead.

It was and is You -CL16 - Part 3.
Part 1 Part2 Note: Last Part hope you like it!
Sunday
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You woke up the same time you had everyday these past few days, and went down to the lobby running into Charles in the elevator like you had this whole vacation.
“You look nice,” he smiled.
“Thanks, so do you,” you blushed, you had assistance once again from your friends on getting you dressed very nice for your last full day in Italy. Your hair was curled, you had on a dress, but still did not wear anything other than white low tops.
“So are you ready for today?” You asked strolling out of the elevator going to your usual table.
“I should be asking you that,” he smirked.
“Okay so what’s today’s deal?”
“If I win, you come celebrate with me, and if I don’t?” he paused wait for you to fill in the blank.
“I would still like to go out, however if your mood is not the best you can say no, I just still want to talk,” you smiled, “does that sound fair?” He nodded.
“Y/N we have a deal,” he held out his hand for you to shake. You grasped it firmly shaking it. You were greeted with coffee and continued your morning as usual, he was telling you his plan for today, and although you didn’t understand much of what he was saying, he gladly answered your questions. Once again your date was interrupted by your friends, but it was quicker than last time, just a quick hello and they went off to their separate table. Once again it was time for him to go, you hugged once more but he pulled something out of his pocket to give to you, four lanyards.
“For them too, I don’t want them to feel left out after, hospitality will be very fun for them,” he smiled.
“Thank you,” you smiled.
“I’ll see you in there Y/N,” he said. He waved bye to your friends and headed out. You met them at the table and distributed the lanyards, all of them screaming.
“You think we’ll see other drivers?” Allie asked.
“Or the celebrities?” Liv said.
“Who cares, Y/N got us in!” Mila squealed. The four of you wandered around killing time before the race. You went to the pass entrance and it was surreal. You had heard about this place so many times from your friends and now Charles and you were finally here. You looked at your friends all smiling pointing and looking at different people running all around. You were scanning the different people walking by when finally you found him.
“There you are, where are the girls?” he said hugging you.
“I don’t know, but please apologize to everyone from me, they were pointing and running around, I lost them instantly,” you laughed embarrassed.
“It’s fine we’re all used to screaming girls,” he laughed, “come on let me show you around,” he said. He rested his hand on your lower back and guided you around.
“Hopefully we find them in our tour,” you smiled. His hand was warm and comforting, positioned in a spot you could get used to. You looked around at all the different hubs for the teams as Charles explained everything and pointed out who the different people he greeted were as you were walking until finally getting your final stop where you found your friends waiting.
“Great you found it, nice to see you girls,” he grinned.
“Yeah, your brother found us,” Liv said.
“He said you told him about us,” Mila teased giggling, making you roll your eyes.
“Where’s Allie?” you asked.
“Still with him, she’s fine,” Liv said.
“Just a heads up you may be on TV, so I guess everyone will find out,” Charles whispered in your ear. Your friends left the two of you to continue talking.
“What!” you shouted.
“Shh relax, they don’t know your name… but they might ask, sorry” he said, “you play a professional sport, you know how the media is.” You nodded.
“I’ll remain the mystery girl until tonight,” you smiled. He walked you to hospitality before heading to his drivers room to get dressed.
“Wait,” you said as he was leaving, he turned back to you. Something took over inside you, impulsively placing a kiss on his cheek, he looked stunned then smiled.
“What was that for?”
“Good luck,” you winked. He smiled, nodded and headed off. You turned back to your friends.
“Did you just?”
“I did.” You froze standing there looking at all their smiling faces. Screams broke out from the group as they all surrounded you. You heard someone clear their throat from outside the circle.
“You must be Y/N,” the voice said.
“And you must be Arthur,” you put out your hand for him to shake.
“It’s nice to meet you after these past couple days,” he smiled taking your hand.
“Yeah you too, and thanks for finding them, and I’m sorry,” you laughed.
“No problem,” he smiled.
“What’s that ‘I’m sorry’ supposed to mean,” Mila asked.
“Oh you know,” Liv said.
“Really, it’s fine,” Arthur said again, “now follow me please.” You followed slowly behind the three girls infront of you, Liv stopped to walk with you assuring you they were fine. She was the oldest in the group, the Mom of the group if you will, then it was you, and Mila and Allie were both younger than you, your younger metaphorical siblings. You loved them, but sometimes they could drive you crazy like siblings do.
“Here we are, and here you go,” he smiled handing your group some headsets.
“We’re watching here?” Mila’s jaw dropped. Arthur nodded. You quickly put your headphones on to block out the screaming. You stood with your friends waiting for the race to start. You saw Charles getting prepped in the car on the screens in the room. The anticipation was building as the race was getting closer and closer to starting. You saw each of the individual lights turning on and finally the cars were off. Within the first turn Charles had already moved up to second. Laps went by and he eventually pitted, you and your friends were cheering as the car stopped briefly in front of you then was out again. The team was going to only make him stop once, which was completely affective because he won! You were ecstatic that you would be going out on a real date with him, well date celebration, assuming there would be other people there. You went through the crowd of team members Arthur pulling you girls in a chain behind him. Charles finally found Arthur, seeing him smile, like the brother he is he messed up his hair before finding you. You could only see his eyes through the helmet, but could tell how happy he was. You practically jumped to try and get your arms around him. You kissed the top of his helmet although he couldn’t feel it you knew he could sense it.
“You did it!” you shouted.
“Well seeing you again was on the line,” he yelled back through the crowd of people.
“Aww,” you felt your face heating.
“Shit I have to go, meet me back here okay?” you nodded. Just like that he was off. You went back celebrating with your friends and everyone around you. Everyone was asking who you were, you couldn’t say you were his “girlfriend” because you didn’t know. You just told everyone your name instead. Within minutes your friends were showing you pictures of you all over the internet already.
Mystery Girl seen kissing Charles after the race
Mystery Girl is Y/N L/N Swiss Ice Hockey Player
Charles Leclerc new girlfriend found
The posts continued as you scrolled down further seeing more and more pictures taken of TV screens capturing the moment you shared with Charles. You put your hands on your face in awe of how quickly everyone found out who you were.
It had been about an hour, you, your, friends and Arthur were all waiting for Charles after the ceremony. He was changing and getting ready for your celebration, and finally you had spotted him. He ran up to you hugging you and pecking you on the cheek.
“What was that for?” you grinned.
“For agreeing to my deal,” he said, “so the media…” he pulled away getting a good look at you.
“Calling me your girlfriend?” you asked.
“Yes… well, what do you think?” he looked nervous, fiddling with his hands. You looked at your friends smiling then looked back at him.
“Yes, I think yes I’ll be your girlfriend,” you exclaimed. He draped his arm around your shoulder before kissing you on the cheek once again. The group of you walked out getting into your cars meeting at the location you agreed upon. You went out that night happier than ever, celebrating, having some drinks, dancing. Everything was wonderful, but when the night came to the end it would be goodbye for a while.
You had gotten back to the hotel a little tipsy leaning on Charles as he walked you back up to your room. You snapped out of your state when you got to the door.
“So this is goodbye for a while,” you said not looking at him.
“No no no,” he picked your head up, “I have an off week, why don’t I meet you in Switzerland, please let me do that,” he smiled.
“Really, you’d do that for me,” your mood had shifted.
“Y/N you just became my girlfriend you really think I’m going to say goodbye the first night being with you,” he took your hands in his.
“Yes please, here I’ll send you my address, you figure out travel,” you were so excited.
“Good night my girlfriend” he pressed a kiss to your lips.
“Good night my boyfriend” you said pulling him in again, “I’m really glad I went on this trip,”
“Me too,” he said, “I’ll see you soon,” he kissed your cheek again before heading off to his room.
You went to sleep that night after a brief text conversation figuring out his visit for the next week, he would be there Tuesday and stay until Saturday, giving you plenty of time together. You rested peacefully knowing it wouldn’t be long until you saw him again.

The first beams of sunlight broke through the window just above the bed. Your eyes trailing over the rays of light that were dancing on the ceiling. You lay awake for what felt like eternity. The night was somehow restless, again. By now you committed to a few hours of sleep. As few as possible but as much as necessary. Keeping the risk low to trigger your nightmares. Keeping the chance low to have to look into his eyes again. A lump was forming in your throat while you let your thoughts roam back and forth.  Maybe you should learn about a thing called power-napping, you read it in a magazine some time ago while sitting in a coffee shop. It really could save you one day.
With that thought you pushed yourself out of bed. Putting on a casual sports fit. Now that the sun was finally up, there was no need any more to stay in bed. You put a cap on, pulled your hair through the back. Laced your boots up and went out for some casual morning rounds around the base. Price already told you their usual morning routine and it was kind of funny, how all military bases had a quite similar routine. You sneak through the hallway to go outside. Trying to keep as quit as possible to wake no one. It was still early, even for the military. As soon as your feet touched the gritted ground you started running. Keeping a good pace while rounding the base. At some point you nodded your greetings to a few other people already awake and going after whatever, they pleased. You decided to pick up your pace. You didn’t want to waste all your energy, but still wanted to push yourself a bit further. You had quite some busy day ahead, so you needed to get yourself going.
You took a few more corners until you heard a voice. “Skadi.”, turning around you were greeted with a blissful smile. You stopped in your track, jogging slowly at the spot. “Madainn mhath!”, [Good morning] Soap breathed out after catching up to you. “Good morning.”, you replied with a quiet snicker. Your reaction earns you an even brighter smile from the Scot. “Yer understood?”, his eyes were nearly beaming. It was somehow adorable, and you knew, that the two of you would get along at ease. Maybe too good for your liking. “Seems like it.”, you shrugged off while keeping your legs busy. “Dae ya mind if I join ya?”, a nod with a slight smile was your only response. So, both of you started jogging around the base. Not talking much, at least for your part. You were rather listening to everything Soap gladly explained you. The way the team works together, each specialty, some pet peeves, their little rituals. Some fun anecdotes from after mission celebrations. He really was chatty, and you gladly listened in. He was so sincere and pure, plus all his words gave you a good overview about everyone. They also gave you a warm feeling around your chest. Even if you tried to avoid this kind of reaction, he was just too genuine.
Still, you barely told him about yourself. It didn’t sit right with you. He learned that you were quite an allrounder when it comes to the job and that you were obviously an early bird. He didn’t know that you were also a night owl. The sweet nemesis called sleep. A fight you’ll win one day, hopefully not on your last day. He also learned that Price and you met about three years ago. Not really how, but that it was for a coincidence that comes with the job. Also, he learned that you were quite capable of speaking a few languages and understanding even more. He quite often threw some Scottish at you and for once in his life (while being outside of his home of course) he didn’t get scolded for it. It was clear to see that he enjoyed your company, and you would’ve lied to say you didn’t enjoy his. It felt just smooth.
After some time, you came to a halt. Catching your breath, you couldn’t remember the last time you were talking so much while running. Stretching your body while bending down to grab the front of your boots. Halting the position on suspense. Suddenly you saw a bottle in front of you, Soap held it out for you to grab. “Thanks.”, you gladly took it and nearly downed half of it.  He only nodded, still a happy smile around his lips. How can a person be smiling non-stop. “Dinnea know about ya, but ‘m starving.”, he exhaled with a chuckle, drinking his own water. “Wanna head to the canteen?”, he looked at you with those clear blue eyes. As you gained your posture again you let out a slight sigh. “Sorry Soap. Still have to unpack and other stuff to do.”, you didn’t look at him. Sure, it was a half-assed excuse, but you didn’t want to get his expectations too high and if you were honest, you didn’t want to get too close. You already felt so comfortable in his company. Too comfortable. You needed to keep your guard up. He was a stranger after all. Maybe he wasn't even such a nice guy, maybe he only treated you so wholesome because of your gender and therefore some different assets. Maybe he had strictly different intentions in his behavior. You couldn't tell, and you shouldn't care.
But maybe that’s why you never called the cute barista guy from around the corner, back at your place. Because he was too genuine, too innocent. You gave it a lot of thoughts to be honest. He was a nice dude, he memorized all your preferred drinks depending on the weather and had them always ready when you came back from your morning run. You loved routine and you kinda enjoyed that he became a part of it, but sooner or later it would break apart anyways. He was just too good for you. He wouldn't be able to keep up with you. It surely wouldn't be something more than a lousy one night stand, what wasn't your thing at all. You were too complicated, too distant and you couldn't let yourself believe that someone could even show a glimpse of honest interest. Well, that's at least what you told yourself all the time to justify pushing everyone away. Same for Marc, or was his name Maik? Your neighbor next door, he even invited you for his wedding. Did you go? Of course not. You only send a card, not even able to look him in the eye to congratulate him.
This way you did what you could do best, you started closing off to the man in front of you. For the rounds it was different. Here it was only the two of you, two comrades having a morning run and just some little introduction, but heading for breakfast together, that was already a commitment. A commitment you were not capable of taking. You’d rather pick a quick snack before looking for Price. See what he has planned out for you today, and God, you hoped it was just getting to know everyone around the base. Spoiler alert, he had different plans.
To your surprise Soap did understand, still wearing a slightly disappointed glance, but he didn't push it and so, you parted your ways.
Going after your day wasn’t so hard. Price introduced you around, you finally got your keycard, you had to fill out a few formulars. Stuff was going along easily and most of the times you were on your own. Until you heard Price’s voice again. He told you, that they could need your help with today’s rookie lesson, and you gladly accepted the duty. Gladly, until you were greeted by Soap and Ghost. Latter didn’t really greet you, but at least he was polite enough to nod towards you. The men were already standing and watching a bunch of recruits still chatting away. You walked over to them with Price at your side. Standing next to Soap and watching the crowd not paying much attention to your arrival. Ghost only needed to step forward to gain the attention of every youngling around. He held an intimidating appearance.
“Listen up.” He yelled out and you totally felt the thick air. He was already a behemoth of a man, but his voice plus the mask really made a silhouette that was frightening. It reminded you of something you’d rather forget. Yourself straighten up as he begun, but before he kept going, Soap stepped forward. Seemed like Ghost was only here to keep them in line and Soap was the official speaker. Maybe it was better for the recruits this way. Soap quickly explained that they were doing sparring sessions today. Especially learning how to read the intentions of your enemy and to be able to be a step ahead before their actual move. You remember how your first sessions were and how you were barely able to keep up with your opposite. How time flies, you thought to yourself and kept your attention on Soaps words. He had quite a way to motivate the younglings in front of him.
Your glance traveling over the faces and catching quite some few females as well. It always brought you a pleasant feeling in your stomach to see, that more and more women would join the army. Especially because you were always underestimated. Your path from the beginning till here was an odyssey. Not talking about the bone crushing weight on your shoulders by now, but to start through in the military as a woman was nearly impossible some time ago. Way too many prejudices.
The recruits were told to find each other a partner for today's session. Soap and Ghost would give them a quick demonstration of what they were up to. So, Price and you would be teamed up in that case. That wasn’t to be going to be so bad, you heard your words echoing through your mind.
That was until you heard the raspy voice of the Lieutenant again. "Don't mix up genders. Shall stay fair.", he exclaimed dry and that way he earned a scoffed chuckle. He turned around and faced you with a death glare. Soap immediately turning around looking at the scenario with shock in his eyes. "Have a problem with that Seargent?", his voice went even deeper when he turned his whole body towards you. Soap made a gesture with his hand shaking before his throat, symbolizing you to stop what you were doing. Unlucky for everyone around - except your Captain - you were way too stubborn to retreat now. "Just a suggestion but let them pick their opponents themselves regardless the gender. Nobody cares on the battlefields either.", you stated calm, your glance not adverting. Price watched the whole scenery a bit too curious. He knew the two of your for quite some time and he already expected that the tension between you would become thrilling.
Ghost stepped closer to you. You couldn't read him, but you could definitely see that you pissed him off. His eyes burning into yours. "We should keep it easy by now.", he was only a few inches away from you. You stared back, looking in that chocolate iris. You could've just backed down, but it was too challenging. "So, you believe women are not worthy a challenge?", your eyes never retreating his state. He was so damn pissed. He stepped even closer to you, you could feel his hot breath even through the mask, brushing a long your skin and sending shivers done your spine.
Soap wanted to step in, but Price let just a hand rest on his shoulder, signaling him to stay out of this. "I'm only saying that they have to learn something without getting real injuries before even placing a foot on the battle ground." He hissed through gritted teeth. He didn't even know why he argued with you, but he couldn't stand it. He knew that one shouldn't miscalculate about the opposite gender. But the way you interrupted him, the way you looked at with him with such a stubborn glance.
It made him furious. But the way you didn't even reacted the slightest to his presence. Well, you did, but you were to pride to show it. "Then you underestimate them." - "They have to learn before proofing themselves." - "You only learn when you can try and error." - "Error doesn't mean getting real hurt." - "Okay, so you're sure about them getting hurt." It went on like this for some time. Back and forth, staying always in polite line, but the tension grew with each word.
Soap looked the most nervous of all watching the two of you battling with your words. Price still holding him back. Of course, a situation with only the team would have been better to test the waters out but he would take what he could. "You're stepping a line, Seargent." He literally growled at you. "Then you're also underestimate me, Lieutenant.", you hissed back at him. Right here, right now you noticed how close he was standing in front of you. Your breath brushing along his mask, and his hot steaming breaths dancing over your bare skin. He was way too close for your liking.
Standing across of each other and staring holes into the other person. You only realized now how huge he was, trying to literally stare you down into the ground. A ground you would gladly like to stand.
"Why don't you pair up and we will see who's right.", a mocking voice of the recruits let both of your heads snap out of the haze you were in. You leaned a bit back. You didn't even notice how you tried to make yourself taller in front of him. "That's...", just as Ghost wanted to scold the rookie, Price stepped in, "a wonderful idea. This way we can exactly demonstrate a perfect example." He stepped forward looking at both of you. A slight chuckle escaped your lips, still looking with vitally at Ghost. His chest was waving heavy. He tried to steady himself and his temper. "Why not.", you turned around to move to the mat that was originally reserved for Soap and Ghost. The latter following you. "Don't hurt yourself.", he teased and with that he only awakened an insatiable competing desire.
Soap wore a face of a mixture between curiosity and concern. He had pushed Simon a few times before, but this was somehow different. You had no suspicious about each other’s limits and you gladly pushed everything over the edge right now. "Don't hold yourself back, big boy." Even with the mask you know his face would be burning.
You already fought bigger guys than him, just keep your cools and be observant. Just pinning him down once would be enough to proof your point. Your mind literally switched and cutting all of the unnecessary surrounding out. He was nothing different to any of them, but oh lord, you were so wrong with that statement. You could see a switch in his eyes, something you knew too well yourself.
In a heated movement he already reached out to you, trying to get hold of you. For a guy with his build, he was especially fast. Something you didn't suspected. Before you could think of your first turn, his giant hands were already onto your shoulders pressing you down. Lucky for you, you were particularly flexible and even more agile. You find a way to bend yourself out, but Ghost was soon on it. Throwing one of his legs in your direction to block your way out. You reached with your free hand to use his thigh as support to push yourself further up. His hands gripped for your wrist to pull you down once more, but he missed, so you saw your chance. Throwing your legs up and literally over his throat. Forcing him down. His legs were weaker in the position he found himself in, so he slowly bends over. He reached for your waist to throw you over his shoulder, but you were quick to use your hands to get a grip of his statue. Pulling yourself further up, that you would literally split his arms away with your thighs. Your completely weight pushing him down, until his knees gave in, and he found himself with his back on the mat. Your upper half resting inches away from his throat, where you had placed one of your arms to give it a bit more strength. Hovering slowly over him. A self-content smile on your lips, you looked him in his eyes. He just stared back; his eyes quite blank. You could feel his heavy breaths onto you, his chest rising and lowering just like your own. Now you were the one staring him down.
Soap was completely paralyzed by the scene in front of him, and Price only chuckled watching his charges. He knew from the beginning that the two of you needed a lot of patience with each other, especially when pushing each other so far, but he also believed that you would fit in just perfectly. You could learn so much from everyone around so that the 141 could even grow better and closer. Ghost for his part was really glad he had his mask. His face burnt from the heat of his own skin. Ashamed, anger, annoyance. He couldn't tell it apart. So many thoughts flooded his brain while staring into your eyes. "You know how to retread, don't ya Lieutenant?", your voice pulling him out of his mind. He let out a completely pissed groan, before lifting his hand and tapping two times at your thigh. You gladly stood up from your place.
You knew he did spare you; he didn't used his full strength on you but this way he really did underestimate you. A mistake he would never commit twice. You reached out a hand to help him up, but he only ignored it and stood up with no problem. You shrugged it off. "Don't be such a sore loser.", Soap cried out behind your back, but Simon did ignore him. He rather shouted at the recruits to keep starting. You turned around and Price gave you a paternal thumbs up, which only made you shake your head. You didn't give too much attention to Soap though. Still letting the incident of the morning washing over your mind. Ghost also looked out for getting away as fast and as far as possible from the Scot. He knew Johnny would be nonstop teasing him about the situation, and Simon couldn't even blame him, therefore. His cheeks were still streaming hot.

It’s a simple agreement. No kissing, under any circumstances, ever.
You and Ellie would meet up, help each other out, then go your separate ways. Breaking up with Dina had been a tough call, and it hit her pretty hard, from what you could tell. She wasn’t interested in relationships after that point, just occasionally wanted a hookup.
The first time was maybe six months after breaking up with Dina. Was probably more, if you really think about it. Jesse was a good sport trying to be in both of their corners. You weren’t too close with Dina or Ellie and had only occasionally hung out with them before the breakup. Jesse was more your speed since he often third-wheeled when Dina and Ellie were together, so you’d join a hang out with them if he was around. Otherwise, you minded your own business, not wanting to overstep.
When Ellie first followed you on Instagram, you didn’t think much of it. Dina had been following you for a while, but Ellie wasn’t the type to be on her phone very much, if at all. Jesse liked to joke that she took after Joel too much, complaining about how many screens someone can fit in between their face and the wall. The first text was simple, just a reply to your story where you posted a picture of your cat enjoying catnip and a joint in between your fingertips. Ellie had made a little joke, then said you should invite her to the next one. It was subtle– a barely-there request– but sure enough, the next time you had a smoke sesh, Ellie was there in her too-big hoodie and ripped jeans.
“So,” you had said, adjusting yourself next to Ellie on your bed, lighting the blunt between your lips, “Not to be the loser who asks what we are, but what are we?”
She had turned to look at you with a weird little look on her face, one that you couldn’t figure out at the time and still can’t figure out now, but her voice held no room for argument. She had just pulled on her hoodie again, covering her tan skin.
“Friends,” she had murmured, as she watched the smoke pool from your lips, “Good friends.”
And that was that.
Before she had left that night, her hair mussed from your grip on it moments prior, and her hoodie on backward, she’d mentioned the no-kissing rule. You’d shrugged, a big t-shirt covering your figure, your arms crossed over your chest.
“Whatever works for you, Williams.”
You had put the hood up over her face and laughed at her deadpan expression once it fell back down.
And that was that.
It wasn’t a big deal, Ellie had figured. You were an acquaintance, someone who easily fit the group, someone who was hot and funny and Ellie’s type. She’d thought it over after you had mentioned once in conversation that you typically don’t go for relationships, and she had thought it was a good idea. She knew, deep down, that if you were to hold up on that end of the bargain, plus the no-kissing thing, everything would be fine. She wouldn’t fall for you, and she’d keep you at arm's length until she couldn’t handle it anymore. It would be fine.
(It was not fine.)
Ellie had been avoiding you for a few weeks now, dodging your texts and running off when you caught her at the cafe where you worked. It had gotten to a point where you eventually muted her number, in case she did text back so you didn’t have to deal with replying. It was starting to get annoying, the way she pretends you don't exist after getting her fill. Last time had been nice; she’d wanted to go to the park and watch the stars, and smoke, of course. You’d enjoyed yourself, joking back and forth with her till she got needy enough to kiss the side of your neck.
She hated asking for it, liked to take it instead, but you were persistent. You’d move your head to the side, a little smirk on your lips, her eyes growing big and wide, her pretty pink lips sporting a pout.
Thinking about it, now, you realize it must’ve been what you said after that made her all weird. It wasn’t awful, at least you didn’t think it was, but it’s the only real explanation for her behavior the last couple of weeks. You curse quietly under your breath, pausing your cleaning task as you close up the cafe, your eyes darting around the espresso machine in front of you as you try to piece this together.
She’d given you that look, and you just couldn't help yourself– it had slipped so easily past your lips that it was like your tongue was made to utter those words.
“Oh, look at my girl,” you had muttered, placing the burning joint between her lips. Her eyes were glazed over practically instantly, but they had dropped to your lips momentarily, like an impulse. You hadn’t put two and two together at the time, but thinking about that night when you’re sober really works wonders.
“Fuck me,” you sigh, hanging your head, wondering how you were gonna confront her about this. That wasn’t your strongest suit, but clearly, Ellie was worse.
It had been eight months since Ellie and Dina broke up, and she was over it now. She had been on the verge of it when she first proposed the friends-with-benefits thing with you. She’d watched the way you went about life, so unafraid of being alone, and she’d envied it. It was a sick, little green monster in her heart, a constant reminder that she was nothing like that. If it wasn’t Joel as a kid, it was Cat. If it wasn’t Cat, it was Dina. She just wanted to be her own person. To exist as herself, to be with someone without giving every piece of herself to them in the hope that they’d stay.
You were so patient. So understanding. It had thrown her for a loop, the way you took her words, or her requests, or the way you just didn’t care what she did. It was a mutual understanding for the most part; an understanding that she wasn’t prepared for anything, but she still wanted a friend. More than a friend, less than a lover.
It wasn’t usually your territory to confront anyone, and as much as it had annoyed you, it hurt. She was your friend. She talked to you and listened to you, she’d tell you facts about space and you’d tell her how lame she was for knowing it all. But you’d remember it anyway, and you’d mention something NASA tweeted every once and a while, just to get her to talk about it again.
You sighed, knocking on her front door. It was a shame, really, to have to come over just to talk to her, but if she didn’t want to do it herself, you didn’t have a choice.
The door swung open to reveal a very sweaty and very angry Ellie Williams, her hair pushed back out of her forehead. Her hands are wrapped, and your mouth runs a bit dry. Her eyebrows furrow and she clears her throat.
“Hey?” She says, her confusion evident in her voice, and you scoff. You nod your head towards the interior of her apartment, raising an eyebrow at her.
“You gonna let me in or what?” You ask, the exhaustion of a ten-hour shift collapsing onto your shoulders. Ellie bites her lip and eventually nods, though she doesn’t seem too excited, and creates a path for you to walk into her apartment. You sigh, glancing at her patio where her punching bag is still swinging. You try not to think about why she’s so bothered, and instead worry yourself with putting your bag and apron down on her entryway table. You toss your car keys somewhere in the mix while Ellie closes up shop.
Ellie sighs through her nose, glancing over at you every so often as she unwraps her hands. She’d hoped she could have at least a little more time to deal with her feelings, but even so, it wouldn't have been fair to you. She knew that her bullshit was going to eventually seep through the floorboards and drown you both, but she didn’t think it would happen so quickly. She rolls up the wrap and puts it away, taking a deep breath when she enters the apartment again.
It wasn’t the first time she’s had you over, and you know your way around the place. She takes note of the candle you lit, the one you got her after she ran out of the last one. It had been on sale, and you figured she’d like it, but it was a piece of you in her place that she grew very attached to very quickly.
“So,” she mumbles, leaning against the counter in her kitchen, trying to look anywhere but you, “What’s up?”
Her obliviousness is pissing you off more than usual, but you take a breath to calm yourself. Instead of scoffing, you take in the sight of her, her dark gray sports bra and black shorts hugging her frame perfectly. It makes you self-aware, suddenly, that you’re in your work clothes. She stands a little straighter, feeling your eyes on her.
“You’ve been MIA, Williams,” you say, just a tad bit exasperated, just a tad bit upset, “What’s up with you?”
She tenses, her shoulders flexing under the stress, and rolls her neck. You watch her with tired eyes, your head swimming with too many thoughts, feeling less relaxed and carefree than you normally do.
You try really hard, always rolling with the punches, always riding the goddamn wave. It’s a pain to expect anything from anyone– a disappointment. Everyone is such a disappointment, and there’s no use getting your hopes up. It’s not like you were expecting much from her, just for Ellie to be a friend.
“Nothing,” she says, shrugging her shoulders, doing that shutting down bullshit, “Just got a lot on my mind.”
You nod, humming, playing her little game.
“Like what?”
She squints like she wasn’t expecting you to ask, like she’s surprised you actually did. You stare back, unfazed.
“Just– stuff, I don’t know.” She sighs, glancing off to the side, not wanting to hold your gaze anymore.
“Really?” You ask, pushing further, “Would this ‘stuff’ have anything to do with what I said during our last little encounter?”
She rolls her head to the side, pushes herself off the counter, and walks to her fridge. She rips it open, pretends to look for something, then grabs a water bottle. She doesn’t say anything yet, just takes a swig, and lets some water dribble down her chin. You watch, stubborn, as you wait for her to quit dancing around the subject.
“Jesus,” she mutters, placing the bottle on the counter, “Yes, it did. You happy you got it right?”
Her attitude makes you roll your eyes.
“I don’t give a fuck about being right, Williams,” you say, your voice a little louder now at the sheer audacity of Ellie fucking Williams, “I give a fuck about you. You could’ve said that it bothered you.”
She shrugs her shoulders again, throwing her hands up like it doesn’t even matter.
“What did you want me to say? ‘Sorry, when we have sex can you not call me yours? Makes it a little goddamn awkward when we’re just friends’?” She exclaims, looking at you like you have two heads.
“That’s a start, Ellie,” you snap at her, and she freezes when you say her name, her eyebrows pinching. “You’re not the only one with feelings here, y’know. You’re my friend.”
She stills at the statement, the emphasis of the word ‘friend’. She’s called you that countlessly, but hearing you say it with so much certainty makes her uneasy. She shifts, ‘cause it just doesn’t sound right, and the realization makes her feel sick. She shakes her head quickly, suddenly overwhelmed, suddenly scared.
“Leave,” she says, her voice barely loud enough for you to hear, but you do hear it. It makes you still, even your fingers don’t twitch. The fear is ice cold as it drops down her spine, and she can’t bring herself to look at you. She does the only thing she can think of; she pushes you away.
“What?” You ask, your voice quiet like you don’t believe what you’re hearing. Part of you doesn’t, in all honesty. Ellie’s never been one to back down, never one to slam the door in someone’s face. Especially not your face.
“Just– Leave!” She yells, throwing her arm up to the general direction of the door, “Get the fuck out! We’re not friends, okay? You’re–” She pauses, shakes her head again like she can’t make up her mind, then says, “I’m done with you.”
That last part makes your heart drop. ‘I’m done with you.’ Like you’re some toy she’s now bored with, like she’s gotten what she wanted and now it’s all done. Like you’re nothing, like you’ve been nothing this whole time. A laugh bubbles up before you can even help it, tears pricking at your eyes, but you refuse to cry. You grab your things quickly, and Ellie doesn’t move to stop you, even if her hands twitch, and her legs falter. She doesn’t try.
“Fuck you.” Is all you say, but even then, it's a broken little thing. A barely-whisper, just something to say so you have the last word. She lets you keep it, and when you leave her apartment, you don’t stick around to hear her yell ‘Fuck!’ at nobody and nothing.
And that was that.
Ellie becomes a bit of a ghost after that. Whether or not she means to, you have no clue. But you have an appreciation for it; not having to pretend you’re doing fine is a weight off of your shoulders. That carefree attitude is a shield you wear, a buffer between emotions, something you use to move between the people in your life. The way people flock to you for something so minute, so temporary– are you that temporary? It’s a headache and a half to even think about.
Seeing Ellie at parties was a trip. She’d look so okay, so good. Like she doesn’t lose sleep at all, never will lose sleep over you, like she’s fine.
Ellie doesn’t know how badly she fucked up until she sees you the first time after you left her apartment. It’s not like she forgets what you look like. How could she?
Jesse drags you to a party. It’s been a month, maybe, since you and Ellie fought. It’s enough time that you don’t really do much when you see her; you stare a little longer than you’d like to, and she smiles a little too much than she’s supposed to, and you think about her before bed. A resentment slowly builds, little building blocks falling from the sky, but it builds. Soon enough, she’s not Ellie anymore. She’s just Williams, just some girl you met through Jesse. Just some girl who made you feel a little too much, a little too fast.
You see her after a couple of hours, dressed in a button-up you remember wearing once, and the memory makes you flush. You blame it on the alcohol because you’ll never blame yourself, and make yourself another drink. It’s about to be the time of the night where you leave, but you know Jesse will complain about you leaving without telling him, so you attempt to find him. It gets you knocked into someone’s chest, a pretty girl with short black hair and pale skin, who grabs your waist before you even have a chance to apologize.
You look at her, raising your brow.
“Sorry about that!” You yell over the music, but her hands are firm where they rest. She smiles a smile that looks nothing like Ellie’s, and it makes your skin crawl. You attempt to move away, but she keeps you still.
“Why don’t you dance with me?” She replies, but it feels less like a question and more like a demand, so you forcibly step back, pushing her hands off. You throw her a dirty look for good measure and tell her to back off, but she’s not convinced.
“Don’t be such a fucking bitch–”
In hindsight, that shouldn’t have been the reason you punched her, but unfortunately, Ellie has your patience wearing thin, even when you haven’t spoken to her in a month. It’s not your fault, really, when this girl’s nose starts bleeding, or when your knuckles start throbbing. You don’t even realize someone’s pulling you out of the building until your face meets the cold air, until Ellie is pulling you into an alley and asking, “What the fuck was that?”
You giggle to yourself, cradling your hand, and jerk yourself out of her hold. Your eyes meet hers, and it pisses you off that you missed them.
“Fuck off.” You mutter, pushing a few strands of hair out of your face. Her jaw sets, and her eyes narrow.
“Was she fucking with you? Did she touch you?” She interrogates, her shoulders tensing with every word that leaves her mouth, and the mere concept makes you boil.
“Are you serious?” You question, scoffing at her after the fact. You shake your head, your eyes trailing over her face, lingering on her lips, the one thing you promised you’d never touch. The one thing she wouldn't talk about, the one thing you wanted the most. She takes a step back, like you might punch her, too.
“Why the fuck do you care, Williams?” You let your hand fall limp, your shoulders deflating, “You’re done with me. You had your fun. We’re not friends.”
You echo everything she told you that night, because the only thing those words have been doing this past month has been bouncing around your brain, a constant reminder of what she thinks of you. You watch her wince, and you watch her step closer, and you watch her eyes turn down, like a puppy getting scolded. You watch her, because it’s all you’ve ever done. She takes a chance to look at you, her eyebrows pinched, her lips turned down into a frown.
“I didn’t mean any of that, I just–” She cuts herself off again like she’s scared of giving too much away, “I was scared.”
It makes no sense to you, not really; the alcohol has your chest burning, but you think maybe it might be Ellie, and nobody has ever made you second guess yourself before. Then again, nobody has ever been Ellie, and you don’t think anyone will.
Ellie shifts uncomfortably, watching your expression turn somber, and it jolts her awake. She thinks that maybe she drank too much, thinks that you look too pretty under this streetlamp, or maybe that she wants you more than she thinks she does. It’s just enough for her to lean in, though– close enough that she can smell the perfume you like to wear, and the strawberry chapstick that you don’t leave home without. Your breath hitches in your throat, and when you blink, Ellie’s impossibly closer. The insinuation, the tease of a kiss, makes you angrier, like she’s dangling it in front of your face.
“Like I said,” you mutter, looking into her eyes, “Fuck off, Williams.”
When she sighs her breath out, you can feel it fan over your cheeks. It makes you so warm, and a heat builds in the pit of your stomach when she smirks all sly and charming.
“I don’t want to,” she replies stubbornly, her eyes sparkling, “Please forgive me.”
It’s almost a beg, the way she says it. She doesn’t mean to, but seeing you so angry, so hurt, it makes her ache. She thinks that her loneliness will always sit like a chip on her shoulder, and she knows that you know it, too. She can’t bear the thought– seeing someone else want you struck a nerve with her, and it made her realize too much in too little time.
“No.” You murmur, Ellie’s expression falling to the pits of hell. You lack a finality in your voice, like you know you’re lying when you say it, but Ellie doesn’t know better. She glances at your lips again, how close they are, how she aches for them, and slowly backs up.
“Try again.” You add, and her expression lifts, even the tiniest bit. She nods.
“I will.”
It’s maybe another month of dancing around each other before Ellie works up the courage to face you again. This time, she’s not almost-drunk, and this time, it’s not in a dark alleyway outside of a frat house. This time, she comes to your apartment, with flowers and a stuffed frog plushie, her smile a little lopsided and her eyes worried at the edges.
“May I help you?” You ask, just to be a little pain in her ass, and you stare directly at her face, ignoring the items in her hand. She clears her throat, and shifts where she stands.
“Do you mind if I come in?” She asks, her voice wavering just a bit, her eyes bright with hope and something sweeter. You hum and shrug your shoulders, but move out of the way so she can come in. She does so gingerly, looking around as you close the door. You turn to her, and she faces you, smiling.
“I wanted to apologize,” she starts, looking all over your face, “I figured my shit out.”
It’s everything you want to hear, really, and you can’t stop the little grin pulling at your lips. It makes the tension in her shoulders almost disappear, the relief making her deflate. She holds the flowers and plushie out awkwardly, shrugging her shoulders.
“Got you these,” she mumbles, her ears flushing red, “I hope you like them ‘cause I really could not figure out which to bring you. There were so many.”
You laugh at the honesty and take them from her. You walk over to your kitchen counter and set them down, then make your way back to her, standing close and patient.
“Well, I love them,” you tell her, reaching for her hand. She bites her lip, and she can’t help it when her eyes fall to your lips again.
“Please forgive me.” She echoes those words from a month ago, getting close and comfortable, her nose knocking into yours gently. You can’t help the chuckle you let out, your eyes watching hers.
“I forgive you.”
She barely gives you time to get the words out. Her lips press against yours harshly, her hands coming up to your waist to bring you close. She doesn’t want to be away from them again, doesn’t want to stop kissing you, and it turns out to be everything she’s dreamed of. You grab at her belt loops, closing any distance that dares to come up, and melt. The kiss turns out to be everything you’ve dreamed of, too.

Wanna Go Get Some Coffee? (Yuji x Reader)
CW: slight mentions of past bullying and insecurity, fluff, yuji is a green flag, very light swearing
Event Masterlist | Event Guide | JJK Masterlist | Blog Navigation
Tumblr media
The first time you met Itadori, the two of you were in middle school.
Back then, you had a giant crush on him.
You were quiet, and a little nerdy, so the majority of your peers often ignored you, or made fun of you.
But Itadori Yuji, handsome, popular, good at all sports Itadori Yuji was never anything but sweet to you.
It didn't really make sense to you at first. Why did he always say hi to you in the halls? Why did he help you carry your stuff, even though you insisted you were fine and there were hordes of other girls that would kill for him to carry their stuff? Why did he go out of his way to include you in conversations?
Why was he so nice to you? You doubted it was for your looks. You wouldn't go as far as to say that you were ugly, but back in middle school you hadn't fully grown into your features, which led to some unkind comments from your classmates.
Either way, this was a long time ago.
Years passed, and you grew into your features, accepted that you were a little weird in a good way, embraced your oddities, and became more confident.
With your newfound confidence, came new friends, and soon you had a group of friends who shared your interests and cared deeply about you.
You had also gone on a few dates, but none of them had measured up to your middle school love, as childish as that sounded.
And now, on your eighteenth birthday, you wondered how he was doing as you followed the red thread that had appeared around your wrist that morning.
Hopefully your soulmate would be as sweet, caring, and good-looking as Itadori was...
Suddenly the thread around your wrist went wild, waving around and thrashing.
Oh crap, your soulmate was getting close.
Hurriedly you fixed your hair and adjusted your clothes before walking a little faster, eager to meet your soulmate.
Rounding a corner, you collided with someone sprinting in the other direction.
The two of you smacked foreheads, and you staggered back with a little groan, clutching your face.
From your peripheral you could see the ribbon was pulled taut, the other end wrapped around the wrist of the person you ran into. Well okay. This was not how you were expecting to meet your soulmate.
"FOUND YOU! Oh crap, wait are you okay? Shoot. Let me see."
Gentle hands grabbed your wrist, and pulled your hand away from your face. Looking up, you made eye contact with your soulmate for the first time.
"Name??"
"Itadori?!"
The two of you blurted at the same time, shocked.
You let out a sigh of relief.
"Oh thank god, I was really hoping he would be like you, but for you to be my soulmate, that's even better than I hoped-"
Mortified you slapped your hands across your mouth.
What were you saying?! You practically just confessed to him seconds after meeting him again. You had to get it together.
"Um-well, what I meant was-"
"You were hoping your soulmate would be like me?"
Itadori's face was practically glowing he was beaming so hard.
"Um-I"
You stammered, unsure how to answer.
"I was really hoping you would be my soulmate too!"
He said a little shyly, his blinding grin still present.
"I mean, well, after I didn't learn my trait on my birthday, I knew my soulmate was younger than me, so that didn't rule you out, and then I knew it was your birthday today, so when the string appeared I got a little excited. Um, that's why I was running. Sorry for bumping into you. Are you sure you're okay?"
"You-You were hoping that I would be your soulmate?"
You repeated, still a little dumbfounded.
"Y-Yeah...is that a problem?"
Worry crept into his voice.
"NO! No."
You tried again, softer the second time.
"I'm just surprised that you hoped it was me of all people. It-It actually makes me really happy that you were hoping I was your soulmate."
Looking over at him, you noticed that he was just staring at you blankly.
"Itadori? Earth to Itadori. Are you there?"
"We're gonna get married, right?"
Itadori blurted, starting.
You blushed.
"...What?"
"Sorry! I was just thinking, and I-I'm sorry!"
He panicked, bowing.
You laughed.
"I'll forgive you on one condition: you let me call you Yuji, okay?"
"O-okay."
He said, turning pink.
"Can I-Can I call you by your first name too then?"
"Sure."
You planted you hands on you hips and gave him a once over.
"Say, wanna go get some coffee?"

how about m1m1kyu? They’re cute and the z move is already right there
Getting a job at a year-round scare mansion was the best idea you ever had. The pay could be a lot better, but that's not why you and your buddy wanted the job. Truth be told, you both had a real passion for scaring people.
Your boss was pretty lax, not taking things as seriously with you two as they would with the other scarers. Just give them what they paid for and have fun, right? That gave you both some pretty novel ideas on what to do, and you both soon settled into a routine that worked best for you. The room you two were active in was an old and dusty girl's room, full of creepy dolls and worn out stuffed animals. You and your buddy were two particularly...large and lifelike dolls. Of course, you were just dolls...you wouldn't come to life and jump at anyone, right?
Yuuki really sold the part of a big old plush well. They laid limp and slumped against the wall, their worn stitched together clothes fit the theme perfectly. They kept their body covered and their face was hidden beneath their costume, so all people saw were the limp bunny ears and the creepy-but-cute stitched smile and button eyes. You both watched a small group of people make their way through, sizing them up for the perfect opportunity. One of them wasn't exactly a good sport- loudly complaining and chastising his groupmates for being wimps. You cast a glance to Yuuki when their backs were turned; knowing they'd understand what it meant.
When they tried to leave, the door wouldn't budge. That was your cue to jump into action! Slowly, you and Yuuki started to move. The bells on their costume jingled quietly, catching the group's attention. That big creepy bunny doll was moving, its empty button eyes seemingly staring them down from where it stood on the opposite wall. Then, it started to walk closer. Slow and meticulous, but with an unnatural gait that didn't seem quite human. And another doll was standing up- you were sitting up from where you rested on the dusty bed. "R-R-RUN!"
The group panicked, shaking at the door handle with everything they had while Yuuki only drew closer. You stayed where you were to watch it play out. "You guys are a bunch of pussies," sneered their colleague, "It's just a person in a shitty costume." Regardless of that, Yuuki continued to shamble forward. The door only opened at the very last second and let them all free, but when their cohort rolled his eyes and moved to leave too...it slammed on him. When he turned around, Yuuki was looming over him.
"Oooh, you got me. What're you gonna do now? These scare houses are so stupid, I swear...I should've never agreed-" Rip. One of the seams on the costume's mouth ripped. Then another, and another, until they all opened in an open, jagged smile. The man scoffed, unimpressed. "How frightening. Can I go now?" Yuuki grasped at him, both hands holding onto him firmly. Then from the inky black darkness of the inside of the costume's mouth, a clawed hand stretched forth and gripped him by the collar. "H-hey, wait, what's th-"
His head is yanked into their mouth, with his body already being yanked deeper. Their arms held him in place, leaving him to kick futilely at them while the fabric muffled his yells and protests. They lightly chomped at his body, swallowing him down with a practiced ease as you glimpsed shadowy hands reaching out from their mouth to help his descent. You had to give it to them- Yuuki was a pretty good hunter. Soon nothing was left of the spoilsport, now reduced to a struggling bulge pressing and kicking out against the fabric of their body. The stitches on their face fixed themselves as if they had never been torn open, but you could tell their smile was somehow more pleased. You flopped back down on the bed, watching them waddle over to their plush pile to hide and enjoy their meal.
The fear of people who think they're above this place is the most delicious. Hopefully you get one like that now that it's your turn to "scare" someone... This job was perfect for you both. You got paid to eat people!
