Help, I don't think I've met another person with these many exceptions in their views ajnsnfjskajsjfk
#miranda talking shit#Talking with oliver can be so spicy. He can do an long rant about people in an group i fit into and when i point it out#Hes like NO YOU ARE NOT PART OF THAT GROUP NO! Like bro... I am. I'm not trying to guilt you but technically i am#Numbers do not lie ajjsjfjdkskskd i can say that much lol#Talking about overweight people and how its dangerous and shouldn't be promoted#Yeah that makes sense and all but also... Im overweight. Im like 20kg over the normal weight limit. I am by numbers overweight#But he wanted to argue i wasnt... Bc i... Didnt look like it? Which i mean uh ty? But i am. Doctors have told me its a fact i know it#I am not so... Bothered by being called fat anymore bc thats true ya know? But he got so fired up about me not being fat it was like#Um... I dont mind it buddy its true? I definitely am. It's okay it wont hurt anyone if you say it i already have#I understand what he meant like obesity is dangerous people die and get sick bc of it. But his 'line' of overweight people is apparently#Very different from the norm...? Or even like Healthcare yeah. I dont think the word fat now is as sensitive to me as it was#In the past. But i also know thats... How to describe me with a mess nice word than chubby. I have a too big belly its a fact#Did i enjoy him being so willing to argue me on this point ? Yeah it was funny#Maybe im not the norm but feels like now a days thin people are scared to use the fat word but fat people dont really care much#Maybe its how our culture have pushed for it to be more acceptable or at least not be shamed etc. But ive had more than#One friend in recent years who have argued on the point of me being fat. Like... I am im not saying it to earn pity or something its true?#Funny to hear he doesn't think i am tho. He always react strongly when i hint at it even#'people are built different youre not fat' its confirmed fellas im just built different lmao

okay I had the strangest experience because I watched the first 3 episodes and went "this is great! a little silly but thats to be expected, no where near as bad as season 3" and then the last 3 episodes happened !! anyways
thoughts/take aways :
ty for letting them say fuck
aidan gallagher get out of the writers room and get a girlfriend
baby shark, seriously, that was at least 4 years ago
lila character assasination is CRAZY omg. she would never?? do anything with five 😭 her and five have hated eachother this entire time no matter how many years they were in a train station she would not get w his dusty ass
I dont understand how this happened except somehow aidan got leverage with the plot bc the GREENHOUSE?? SHOTS??? ARE LIKE IDENTICAL?? TO HIS WEIRD INSTAGRAM SELF INSERT FIC?? i hate this boy, get ur hands off my tua
also generally the way they have Lila act abt her family??? idk it feels like such a bland plotline to make her and diego hate being parents
the chubby jokes about diego are also crazy
the fives scene was so cringey 😭 i see what u were going for but it literally just gave citadel of ricks it was not good, and the rain man joke.
the plotline of klaus getting kidnapped was genuinely crazy to toss in there and play for jokes, they only acted like it was serious when the guy threatened allison like no he has been sex trafficking the hargreeves on screen for an entire episode
also while klaus being really paranoid of dying without his powers COULD have been a good plot line I feel like they did not do it well and it just ended up feeling like promoting his addiction
that goop ending was really weird, why'd they get gooped, what if they all died normally no goop involved, they window breaking shot was cool just have that massive monster kick their asses why goop
why did they imply Viktor is like treating all the women in town badly in the first episode 😭 viktor has NEVER acted like this. like please let trans men be GOOD men it doesnt men them girly to not treat women like shit
they act like sloan died and then never elaborated on it???
please explore why raymond left allison and fire aidan gallagher
klaus immediately going for the dog tags was actually rlly sweet almost cried
the two seconds of young apocalypse five were the best moments of the whole season
plot holes bc i was gonna be nice but you did this to yourself :
why is everyone calling it marigold like its not just random thing harlan came up with
"power up" THIS IS NOT WHAT ANY OF UR POWERS LOOKED LIKE UNTIL RN WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING
and fives jumps are purple??? for the reason of ??? ??? why??
and WHY THE HELL DOES LILA HAVE LaZER EYES. ALL THEIR POWERS ARE LIKE THEIRS BUT SLIGHTLY DIF/MORE POWERFUL AND SHES JUST GOT LAZER EYES 😭
why were lila and five living like they were in the apocalypse in that train station when they clearly could pop up and time travel around??? like go up take a shower, time travel to sometime with stores, buy some meat, why are you hunting rats, theres literally a deli in there
also they were in there for SEVEN YEARS and never saw another five until the last episode????
I also really heavily doubt it would take five 7+ years to figure out the train system
also the way allison pours the marigold directly into klaus' wound and it just works 😭 how does it work both by drinking it AND ALSO BY POURING IT DIRECTLY IN A MANS GUNSOHT WOULD
what? was going on w Sy Grossman ?? did we ever figure that out?? did they just kill him off and leave us wondering?? why did he say he was Jennifers dad? was he actually with the Keepers? was he just working for Abigail?? no fucking clue
one of the hargreeves (i think luther) called bens death the jennifer incident in s3,,,, but they did not know the girls name and also allegedly had their memories wiped???? okay,,,
also i thought sparrow ben KNEW jennifer already cuz he had her name in his journal or whatever?? but now he doesn't???
why was she in the squid 😭 ?
honestly im sure theres more ive forgotton but omg, that was not good 😭

so you said pride month is just another month (honestly it’s kinda the same for me, I also draw lgbt stuff nonstop) but I’m trans and just curious if you have any trans headcanons or anything for characters? (from anything?) or art/design concepts? you have a lot of cool ideas so I decided I’d get over the anxiety of being ignored and ask!! 🥰🥰
(no guilt if you decide not to answer! it’s (my ask) a bit pushy, isn’t it?)
OMG YES I DO HAVE HEADCANONS
i really like the idea of trans tim, but he never tells anyone bc he passes too easily, and BATMAN doesn't notice on tim's files or anything bc they're too busy fighting crime and shit. but when bruce finally finds out, he goes on a transboy dad mode and makes sure that tim has everything that he needs. the bathrooms of the manor are stocked with menstrual hygiene products (not only for tim bc im sure selina mentioned getting her period at his house ONE TIME, and he asked alfred to stock up). bruce redesigns the robin suit to have a safe binder that would be comfortable for tim.
tim doesn't get top surgery until he's living at the marina because he finally felt safe enough knowing there would be a community that not only understands but KNOWS how to take care of him post-surgery. i dont think most of the bat family knows that he's trans (but that's just because he forgets about it too), so he demanded a week off from the vigilante life in order to get top surgery and recover (it takes a lot longer than that, but you know how tim is) and the bats that didn't know started freaking out wondering what the fuck was going on.
jack drake also completely forgot tim was trans (as in he thinks tim amab) so when tim asked to go on T he was like???
anyways, these are my headcanons for now, i could probably talk about this forever lol i have not made any art for it yet, but 6 pride month, so maybe i will. altho, like i said, im queer 24/7, so i might pull up with trans art anytime
and cue shameless self-promotion because the main character of lonely prince club is trans too!

saw ur post about going incognito into spaces and stuff and i wanted to add my own thoughts about my experience of basically being stuck in places where proshippers r hated (not against wut ur saying! i definitely agree that theres no benefits and honestly its not that fun)
the fandom that im currently in is.. very toxic. someone got harassed to the point of having to delete their account bc they "supported" a proshipper (it was literally just them saying that u shouldnt harass this person just bc theyre proship-). a lot of my friends were very supportive of this person and agreed that ppl shouldnt be harassed over shit like that and many of them seem to have similar viewpoints as me (anti harassment and all that) but prefer to stay away from that stuff
the fandom is basically ran by antis. theres a small corner that some ppl have made where they talk about proship stuff freely (love those ppl so much theyre genuinely so nice) but overall its. not the best place to be if ur proship. which is interesting to me bc theres actually a shocking amount of proshippers that just... dont say anything. on my side blog ive had multiple ppl interact that i thought were anti (or at least just. not proship in some way) but would literally go and like all my posts about incest ships of the characters.
and sometimes i think about it and how theres actually a bunch of proshippers but we're so heavily harassed and silenced that we just- dont say anything. but the fandom is small and we cant exactly separate ourselves from it if we really like the show. and i feel especially bad for some of the bigger blogs that ppl love and adore bc i know wut would happen if somehow ppl found out and made some big post or wutever.
i dont pretend to be antiship but i dont outright say im proship unless i really trust that person
im currently trying to make my own lil space with some friends so at least if anything goes wrong i at least have a few ppl but its a bit scary to think about honestly-
Although it can be full of snot-nosed superiority complexes, I do recommend using the AO3 Subreddit in order to find likeminded people for your fandom. The very vast majority of the AO3 Subreddit is proship or at least proship neutral. Antis are generally eviscerated on sight whenever they try to poke their nose into it.
If you have any other fandoms that you are active in or have friends within, there's also no harm in introducing them to your small fandom.
From what I understand the Marvel fandom did kind of the same thing you're describing with the Starker shippers, but they flourished and supported each other anyway.
I know its easy for me to simply say 'do it anyway' as someone who generally could not give a fuck about anyone's opinion of me, but honestly. Do it anyway. Form your little collective. Support each other. Learn how to write and draw and make GIFs so you feed your own portion of the fandom. You physically do not need those people, it just unfortunately takes a bit of effort and means potentially a bit less content until you start really generating your own.
Fandom spaces do not start out from nothing. Promote the shit out of your fandom. Draw people in. Comb through the proship tags and send asks to blogs like mine asking other proshippers to check out the source material.
People in small fandoms are easy to bully because you're so enclosed into this circle of the exact same people. They happen to be the majority in the room and they're weaponising it.
Force them into a bigger room.

im someone who’s slightly on the fence about malia, i don’t have any super strong opinions on her, to be honest.
im not a fan like a lot of ppl are bc.. what is there to be s fan of? she doesnt make content of her own rlly & we know next to nothing ab who she is in terms on interests and personality.
i dislike the lying she did in terms of that whole onlyfans thing, but i understand why she did lie.
idk i feel like ppl who are obsessed with her are moreso a fan because they wanna appease colby & get on his good side. they dont actually like HER they want his approval.
i definitely think there are fans that are purposefully pretending to love malia just to get in colby's good graces/get noticed by him. that's for sure happening. but i don't think that's all the fans that act like they love her.
(went on a bit of rant, so my bad lol)
i think the reason why malia has certain fans acting like they love her is the same reason why someone like charlie d'amelio blew up when all she did was do popular dances: she's pretty. pretty privilege gets you super far online. i also think malia has a nice aesthetic and that too is why ppl like her. and then on top of that, she's an extension of colby bc she's his gf - so now she's even """"better"""" than she was before. plus i think in some ppl's heads if colby is dating her, she must be a good person bc they doubt he would date someone terrible.
my thing with her is that if you don't have any feelings towards her/are indifferent, that's totally fine and understandable. we don't know her that well. but to hate her is dumb. she just posts her little tiktoks and makes an insta post once a while. what is there to hate about her? you know literally nothing, so why hate?? if she's truly that boring, what is there to hate on?
interestingly, the onlyfans situation pisses me off in a weird way. bc i have to ask, what does the fandom gain from her answering it truthfully?? or really, why was the question asked in the first place?? bc clearly it wasn't being asked in good faith or bc fans were genuinely curious. no, it was being used as a gotcha question. bc a good chunk of us all saw she had a onlyfans link in her bio before colby started dating her. i remember seeing it. but reality is… what does her admitting to having one at one point prove?
it was a double edge sword for her either way. if she tells the truth and admits to having one, a - the fans that hate her will call her a slut, a whore, a sex worker and say she's weird for selling her body online and that's why colby shouldn't date her. or b, "omg she's promoting her onlyfans to colby's underage fans, she's a freak". i foresaw both of those outcomes happening instantly. her saying "no i don't have one" is the best case bc it ends the conversation. so what if she "lied"? who cares? it was a dumb question being asked at her frequently just so her haters could use it as a point against her.
also clearly colby doesn't give a flying fuck and a half that she had one, whether she posted on it or not, bc he was following onlyfans models for YEARS. so… highly doubt he was upset that she had one at one point lol
sorry if i sounded a bit angry at you - i'm not. i just think the onlyfans situation is an annoying thing her haters bring up as if it's proof she's a terrible person or something. like "omg see she's a liar" as if we haven't all lied before. dear god lol
also - and i might as well get this off my chest bc it's about this situation too - is that a group of fans that were hell bent on her bc of that question tried to see if her onlyfans existed still so that they could sub to her bc they 1, wanted to make fun of her for her body and 2, wanted to shame her. and on top of that they were all MINORS. so not only would that have been illegal, it's also double fucked bc body shaming her does literally NOTHING except make her feel like shit. and all of this bc she's dating colby. it has nothing to do with her personality, and has everything to do with shaming her and making her "understand" she doesn't deserve him. when in true reality, this fandom doesn't deserve snc at this point bc of this type of behavior.

Personally my stance on fictional content is that media for adults can be as awful as possbke but uf uts marketted to kids or teenagers im going to tear that shit apart piece by piece and if i see some shit that promotes values that would put people in danger in a kids series im going to hunt down the creators and steal their money.
But adult stuff can be as fucked up as it wants, just yk as long as its in the appropriate spaces and well is tagged and stuff in said apprpriate spaces.
Also i think like, it would be cool if there was a disclaimer explaining why spaces that are 18 plus are 18 plus bc i feel like a lot of teens and kids dont understand the dangers of engaging with adult content in adult oriented spaces as a minor. [Namely that someone could take advantage of them]
I think all of rhe issues with problematic fiction can be avoided by providing people with actually comprehensive sex ed. And when i say comprehensive sex ed i dont just mean about consent i mean things like understanding what sexual abuse and domestic violence looks like and how to spot it, different kinds of coersion and abuse, what a healthy reationship [sexual or not] looks like versus an unhealthy one, various different kinds of birth control and safe sex practices, debunking misconceptions about sex, explaining how certain normalized sex practices are dangerous.
I also think sexual educators like evie lupine are doing gods fucking work by giving information bout practicing kink in a safe way.
haven’t heard of evie lupine! i’ll give em a check out! and yeah pretty much a fuckton of the issues i have with certain things i think could be solved or at least mitigated by comprehensive sex ed, content warnings and in general treating kids not like they’re idiots and explaining to them why certain things are harmful to them.
like if you say to a kid “this thing is bad for you. dont do it.” guess what they’re going to do.
but if you say “this thing is bad for you, don’t do it, here’s why and if you have any questions please ask me” i think thats a really important distinction
but at the same time, kids are inherently contrary and sometimes no matter what you do to explain to a child that something is bad for them, they’re going to get hurt. which sucks ass.
and ughh tell me about the kids series thing and promoting unhealthy dynamics. *sighs in warrior cats fan*
anyway i think thats an interesting perspective! its certainly an easy and simple binary- but that fact does make me think that its almost too simple and good to be true

Nikka! I’m crying and banging my head against the wall at how talented you are when it comes to songwriting because I could neverr have the skill set 😫 however I do have angst & Evren lyrics for you <3 (they’re shit though so don’t perceive me!!)
Less angsty to start with—after Second Coming and Evren meet and become friends, I see him happily name-dropping them in their new song (I’d like to think the song is just a fun vibe, it’s currently title-less though):
Tumblr media
More angsty! Evren going to the studio at like 3am after that ‘breakup’ argument with Max, and he’s hurt and pissed off.
I imagine he called Cypress on the way there because ✨rant about the girl you love to your best friend✨ and Ev’s all like “Cy, you’re awake!” “I’m more worried that you are” “it’s cute you’re concerned about me, I’m driving to the studio anyway” “why…? Evren, wait, are you still hung up over Maxine? you can come over and we can chat, my siblings are asleep” and Cypress is genuinely upset and concerned bc he’s seen Evren heartbroken before “Cy, as much as I’d love that, I do need to let some frustrations out”
He calls his band and FaceTime’s them whilst he’s at the studio too—and they all pretty much know about Max and him—but also that when any of them call each other at stupid o’clock it means that there’s a song idea brewing.
Obvs had to name the song after their ship name:
Tumblr media
I imagine when he performs this on stage that the fans sing back the bits that are in italics.
And when he has to go on talk shows and social media and promote the song, the question he gets every single time is “who’s the pretty red head?”, and he’ll just genuinely smirk and come up with witty answers like “well, listening to the song won’t be fun if I tell you”
And when nice interviewers ask how he’s doing I imagine him saying, “oh, yeah, I’m okay now. it happened, I wrote a successful song about it, and the good things I said about her are true and that won’t change”
But also him being nervous af to contact Maxine bc she could absolutely hate the song and he’d be ready to apologise for the argument in the first place, but he’d text after a few days like ‘hey, are we good? x’ and then like another one an hour later like ‘by any chance, do you know if your ex hates me??’
MILA SHUT UPPPPP OH MY GOD
no wait cause after the second coming name drop i can imagine max hitting evren up as soon as she hears the song and tease him like “if you wanted to collab all you had to was ask” NDJSJSKSKSK and the tennis references mhm i think he did it for me 😌🥂
and oh my god the cypress cameo 🥹 my favorite boys talking about love problems 🥹 no cause you don’t understand. i love ev’s friendship with everyone but his bond with cy just sits SOOOO right with me. it’s like cy acts like a big brother to him and evren acts like a cool uncle to the mini de veras <3
“i could never have the skill set” NOT YOU LYING TO MY FACE AS IF THE LYRICS OF SOMEWHERE THIS WORKS DONT FUCKING SLAP ?????????
knows i’m better than her ex, ain’t even talkin bout the sex
like after every ride we weren’t fucking high and she hits me with “we should be friends”
SHADE HER EVREN!!!!!! SPEAK YOUR TRUTH!!!!!! HDJSSKKSSJ PLS IM GOING INSANE OVER THESE LINES ACTUALLY
and the miracles verse….. “prayed to lady jesus in church”……… i just know your pen was on fire like i’m not kidding i wish i wrote that verse i’m gonna steal your brain
and the “calm during our storms” he really said OUR 😭😭😭😭😭😭
evren acevedo if things also don’t work out with miko i’m single and ready to mingle
Tumblr media
But also him being nervous af to contact Maxine bc she could absolutely hate the song and he’d be ready to apologise for the argument in the first place, but he’d text after a few days like ‘hey, are we good? x’
i don’t think maxine could be pissed at him calling her out at the “we should be friends” line even if she tried like. she’d be impressed tbh 😭😭😭😭 like she would reply with a spotify screenshot with stw on repeat then she’d quote that line in the first verse to him and go “YOU DID NOT” NDNSMSKS but before evren could think she was serious she’d send another text “JK YES WE’RE GOOD EVREN THIS IS SOOOO GOOD” and considering the emotional weight of the argument that inspired the song, maxine 100% would stop herself from making a joke about how he “prayed to lady jesus in church” because she definitely had him kneeling a few times 🫢 sdhdjskkaks
‘by any chance, do you know if your ex hates me??’
HE’S SOOOOO 😭😭😭 the contrast between the wild ace and evren is so funny yet so endearing to me he’s such a cutie pie <333
max would say something like “idk and idc. i like you- *backspacebackspacebackspacebackspace* “idk and idc”

what you said really resonated with me, about not having a father but having a healthy look on men. i do have a dad, but ive never lived with him and only see him once a month or so, while i live only with women (mom, sisters and grandma). ive never really cared about male attention or whatever, and tend to prioritize women and myself, and i think its because of the heavy female influence in my life.
ive never hated or idolized men, and see them for what they are, im realistic and can judge each individualy, yet still knowing that there are certain attitudes and ways of beings in men more common than in women.
i dont understand people who say that women who grew up without a dad are either man haters or man pleasing, because in my experience it tends to be women who grew with fathers (usually bad ones)that have quite the issues with men. weirdly, i think that women that have complicated relationships with their moms are the ones that either dislike or put men on a pedestal, usually due to having moms suffering from pickmeism. Many of these women just learnt from their mothers to tolerate too much from their men, or saw their mothers suffering and decided to never let themselves become what their mothers are, so they scorn men. but this is just what ive observed.
Yeah, I mean, growing up with a shitty father seems more damaging than growing up without one, so I don't get this culture of shaming single mothers. Hardly any mom choses to educate their child alone - if she did, the father was a bum. But interestingly, there's Hardly a culture of shaming baby daddies like there ks one shaming baby mama.....🤔
My dad was abusive, and my parents separated when I was still a baby so don't remember anything, but my eldest sister do and I can see how different we are when it comes to trauma regarding his abuse (mine is non-existent at this point).
I also agree with you that mothers are the "cornerstone" of their daughters emotional imbalance. As women we project onto each other, so a shitty mom might have a bigger emotional impact onto their female children (and that's the opposite for male). My mom has her fair share of abusiveness too (still not as bad as my dad) and I came to term with forgiving her bc she definitely had to deal with lots lf trauma herself + having to educate several children alone...
But yeah, growing with such a mom really made grasp early on the importance of levelling up and working your ass off. I know what being poor is, and poverty is the best leverage for motivation. My mom was smart: she refused to live off welfare all her life and instead educted herself to get a new job, get promotions, etc Even though she didn't explicitly tell us that way, by the way she educated us, l quickly understand that as a Black woman, I'll have to work twice harder than a White woman, and 4 times harder than a White man. I never felt like competing "against Whites" though, I just understood what were the "rules" of the game we were stepping a foot in as poor immigrants from Africa.
I'll never buy into determinism. Sure, social inequalities are a thing and it's harder when you're a Black women than rich White man, but ultimately you can make it out as long as you don't spend your time comparing yourself and complaining about your own social condition.
I might not have grown with my dad but I think I am much more balanced that those people who grew up with both of their parents thinking women not wanting to have a child is a sin, or wanting a husband looking like their dad... The most asinine shit I've seen on this website didn't come from people with a broken family lmao

"Is anon trying to revile woman nowadays based on-" hi im that anon, not really Im just anti military 😭
i have no motive to try and push a "women are just as bad as men" im just an anon! I might be seeing it as more accusatory than that person intended but. i wasnt even expecting any one other than mena to respond or read that! I didnt dig anything up it was just something I heard of and thought it was a very clear example bc it really messed me up to see + read!
Like even though women in the military are not cruel as often or to the extent that men are, they still aren't innocent and sometimes participate or go along with their male teammates cruelty, Thats pretty much it.
Also no offense but i feel like something from 20 years ago isnt that irrelevant or far away... isnt the USA still warring with the same countries, isnt the mindset of a lot of americans very similar? When I read about jt i was so freaked out bc i thought it *wasnt* that long ago. And then I was freaked out bc well if that happened then, what's happening now? What don't we know about?
Anyways i hope I am not being rude ?? 😭😭 its just weird to be misinterpreted bc that was just random.ramblings which I tend to do ..
Tumblr media
i dont think ur being rude! also ngl i can somewhat empathise w the ppl who joined the military in the US bc they’re poor n it gives them some opportunities. at the same ive come across some that joined for such reasons but they’ll ALSO like defend the military and promote it online and everything lol which is beyond off-putting. i reckon they cant shit talk the military online for obvious reasons but.. i assume they dont have to promote it the way they do? while i understand human nature is selfish and they are being incentivised into doing sth they may not necessarily want to, i did come across some who said they joined the military bc they’re super poor meanwhile they can afford so much useless shit that could feed entire families for a whole month 😭 and on the other side some who say that aren’t extremely poor, just not rich enough to afford most of the expensive ass universities in the US. also ppl who go into combat from those backgrounds i just think.. well. i can understand your desperation. but i do not think the brown ppl who lost their family members & saw their country go up in flames bc of ur army will. bc what they faced & continue to is far beyond the desperation you faced.
idk. i feel like either way i have no stake in this convo the way many do. i was around US army kids and while many of them were racists and xenophobes and were outright talking shit about my country & culture & entitled etc, im just not gonna have the same experience as someone from a country that allies w the US & isnt being bombed by them.

When do you think awsten really started to change? Like right after Fandom? I haven’t been a fan long enough to see the change, I just know he’s more annoying than ever and he makes fans mad. I’m surprised I’m still here 💀
I also don’t understand why he said in an interview that he’s doing so much better than he was prior to GH, yet I feel like GH has way more references to self-hatred and death than any of their other albums. I get his whole “fake it ‘til you make it” mentality regarding his confidence, but I can’t tell what’s real and what’s fake, and I’m sure other fans feel the same way. I know this is probably old news especially since GH has been out for almost a year now, but I’ve only recently started watching their interviews, recent and old, and I really do see a big difference
its hard to say exactly but id put him Changing For The Worse actually BEFORE fandom, like in early 2019? thats when he fell in with super annoying nasty twitter funnymen™ in la and it made him a JACKASS. like SUCH an asshole holy shit it was awful. hes cut all of them off now (with dog girl being the last to go actually lol) but the very observable change in how he acted online from “funny chaos-loving endearing jokester” to “self-absorbed asshole with mean jokes and cruel clapbacks” happened shortly after he befriended elijah daniel and company.
and then THAT comically self-aggrandizing attitude carried him through fandom and only snowballed from there….. before fandom he used to joke with otto and geoff like “WATERPARKS IS THE RICHEST BAND IN THE WORLD WERE SOOO RICH” and it was funny bc they were clearly an up and coming band so it wasnt like that!! but it was so endearing and funny you couldnt help but root for them!!!! but then when fandom era hit awsten was like…. not kidding anymore about wanting to be rich and famous and the vibe shifted noticeably. the whole “i want a big house i want nice things” motif mixed with the “its the FANS fault i dont have those, they wont let me be successful like i could if i were a rapper” kind of……. like entitlement isnt exactly the right word, but something close to it, started coming through.
fandom was honestly NOT an insightful or good commentary on fandom itself but it rly set the stage for awsten to be a huge self-centered braggart lol….. all this whining about how his fans like him too much or not enough, dont respect the boundaries online he actively rewards them for breaking, how hes not rich enough, etc etc all started there imo. and fandom did better than any album before it, partly because hopeless records put a lot of work into its promotion and partly because they were doing so well touring after entertainment….
and then it all fell apart honestly. awsten channeled the same shit but worse for gh and kept getting nastier and nastier with his attitude. like interviews are really the best way to judge this for yourself and i think youll see EXACTLY what im talking about when you do: they went from being cute funny character showcases of all the members, awsten cheerful and friendly and cracking jokes, to like….. awstens the only one talking. awsten going on about how great he is. awsten saying his music is the best in the world with no hint of joking exaggeration. geoff and otto go from being silent in the background to just not being there at all. it fucking sucks and i think its VERY clear why so many fans feel upset and let down when u watch the interviews all together
as for the last part of your ask yeah i think awsten is way worse off mentally and emotionally in the gh era than he was even during fandom. hes always had this self-aggrandizing overly confident abrasive persona he puts on to, yknow, be able to perform while also shielding himself from vulnerability, and thats normal. everyone used to like it even, since it was so clear he was puffing his chest up and faking it till he made it. now its become impossible to determine where the asshole braggart narcissistic persona STOPS and awsten the real person STARTS…… and the absolute worst part of all of this is that, based on how he treats his friends and partners when the cameras are off, it might not end at all. they legit might be one and the same at this point

so netflix just announced the schedule for that fan event on saturdays and now its official: there wont be a tog panel. charlize will make an appearance though, alongside other 5 actress in a panel about action movies. there's a moderator so its most likely gonna be a general discussion about the genre with an emphasis on female protagonists - she's certainly going to talk about andy and nile's characters as well as her experience as a producer - and maybe there will be a comment or two about the sequel, but i feel like nothing too specific or revealing and more like a brief statement. i hope i'm wrong tho! i mean they did kinda hint that there would be new content at the panel? (or maybe it was never gonna to happen and we're just clowns being baited yet again).
anyway, i keep wondering if its a case of netflix not giving a shit about promoting the movie, or if it there's another perfectly reasonable explanation for it and i'm being super extra about it.
because really, netflix has a lot of fucking money and they dont usually spare it on their marketing campaigns. and still we get nothing. not before the film came out (if i didnt have access to the gays from tumblr/twitter i would have never even discover the film - it had me at the joenicky gifs, obvs - and still, i had to introduce it to so many people from inside the community who had never heard of it.) and not even after people started engaging with it, basically begging for some crumbles. not a single photo or video of cast together, not any deletes scenes; we're all starving here!!! in fact, netflix just released the raw footage of an audition/chemestry test featuring the actresses from fear street vs the actual scenes from the film - including some dialogue that was cut from it which reveal some background info about the characters - so clearly they understand the appeal. SO WHY CANT WE HAVE THAT
[nonetheless i'm a fool who still hopes that someday we're gonna get more content of them together (i want behind the scenes footage! i wanna know more about their experiences training and shooting the film! i wanna hear funny stories from the set! i wanna see them teasing each other in several languages! also would sell a lung to watch luca and marwan taking part in back to back chef!). ]
anyhow, i honestly find that even when we take into account the global pandemic and its effects, the publicity was kinda wack; we can basically count on one hand how many interviews were made while they were promoting the film.
and i truly dont get it!!!!!!! im not even speaking as fan here. the old guard has the potential to be a hit among several demographics; now that disney took away what used to be netflix's flagship content the competition has never been more fierce in the superhero/ish genre!!! and its not like we're talking about some low-budget film cmon its a significal production with both experienced and emerging actors. its chiwetel ejofior ITS CHARLIZE FUCKING THERON. anyway my point is that in a time when movie theathers were closed and streaming reached its peak tog could - SHOULD - have been much more popular.
SO LIKE. WHY?????? does it have anything to do with skydance and copyrights? re: interviews, can it be that the cast just didnt sign up for this (is that even a thing? i dont know anything about the film industry, clearly)? unlikely for a movie that big i would guess but who knows??? i mean contrary to some hollywood folks most of the cast is extremely private and discrete people (GOOD FOR THEM) so perhaps they have some reservations about it? or we're really just the poor bastards that end up being obssessed with a media no one gives a fuck about it and thats it? WHYYY
p.s.: sorry for the word vomit! this was not supposed to be an essay i just had to get this off my chest and you're the most welcoming blog around these woods. thank you for the tea (or is it coffee? heh) and the biscuits and for always indulging our passionate rants. HAVE A NICE DAY I LOVE YOU
re: TUDUM, geeked week mentioned there will be a little interview thing for greg & leandro so i have a feeling if anything of tog importance will be discussed itll happen then
Tumblr media
but yeah i get what youre saying; sometimes i wonder if the reason that theres like no bts content is bc it just.. .doesnt exist? just people didnt film things like chemistry readings or the like while creating tog and thats why theres been basically no crumbs? (but then again, it was gina who took it upon herself to post the hair & makeup test footage AND theres at least one deleted scene that we know of thats never been posted so maybe not)
and yeah it does seem so bizarre since tog got such a big response from audiences (it was one of netflix's most watched original movies!) and critics did actually like it, unlike some of netflix's most watched originals. PLUS it has that ✨ Franchise Potential ✨that everyone has been searching for as of late and it also gives netflix their sought after Woke Points. idk it just seems like they should be leaning into tog as hard as they can but it feels like theyve been largely ignoring it. i mean i get the holdups in regard to finding a new director but other than that the response from netflix has been so underwhelming

SOCIAL MEDIA DOES NOT DEFINE YOU💗🍒
buckle up, it’s a long one. like this post so it’s saved for your own reading on days u need it. today i’d like to share a few thoughts about social media, hopefully it will relate to some out there experiencing similar situation.
lowkey, i hate it. everything about it (to me) is a social construct. one of the thing that made me feel this way is because people think social media is everything. sad if you think this is true. people believe that if you post a certain way, or have a cool feed or have an awesome life based on your feed - automatically people assume you are this & that. if you don’t post stuff, still people will assume this/that. whatever you do, people will “assume” something. collectively, i want all of us to STOP assuming. also the need for us to post something because we need validation/acceptance (guilty). which to me, sucks. i want people to know you must do what your heart desires - not for THEM. for you. (if u like it, then YOU GO GIRL) also disclaimer : if u love social media, u do u hun. i’m not discriminating people’s choice at all. this is just personal opinion & choice. we have no rights to judge others for what they like to do.
even though i love social media bc it allows us to connect, share & just allow positivity or shine light for the things that matter. but other than that - i don’t really like it. let me tell you, the moment i started to really reduce my time on insta, twitter (except tumblr lol) - something changed positively. i have nothing against it at all. but i know myself. i know how in my head, it creates unnecessary negative thoughts, self doubt, comparison for myself. and drains my self esteem. so i decided to stop scrolling my insta daily (personal acc). don’t get me wrong, i post usually maybe once or twice a month. but i now try to post what makes ME happy. not what i think people will like. it’s a conscious mindset i had to work within myself. i’ll explain more later on.
some days when i see someone enjoying their best life & just being their perfect selves - i think to myself, “damn why don’t i have this many friends?” “why can’t i just be more like this/that?” “i don’t have enough of this/that” honestly, it’s the worst feeling ever, always doubting & comparing yourself with others. so i asked & interrogate myself with bunch of questions like “why do i feel like this” “what do u think might do to avoid this feeling” “how to stop comparing yourselves with others?” etc.
and i’m finally at a good place where i can say - social media does not do that to me anymore. (not as bad as before at least, i’m getting there!) and i’m here to share some things with you.
💗 WAYS TO HELP YOURSELF : first, you need to ask yourself the hard questions. (like the examples i gave) & investigate yourself. by doing this, u’ll learn and deconstruct your thoughts and really know what the reasons are, understand the root of your problem. and fix it. second, less time on social media. follow the people who inspires you. unfollow people who promotes unhealthy & unrealistic beauty standards. mute or unfollow whoever you feel like is making you feel some sorta way (temporary). third, know that everything u see on social media is literally a highlight reel of our best moments. so no, you are perfectly fine and probably living your best life even if you don’t post things or the best pictures. next, STOP THE NEGATIVE SELF TALK. everytime you think of a negative thing to say to yourself about the other person or yourself. STOP. you are no one to judge anyone. let people live. let yourself be. don’t be too hard on yourself. and think of something positive about that thing you were talking about. it helps. next, mindset. be conscious of your thoughts and really be on alert at all times. we are so easily distracted and get sucked into this “why dont i have this or that” or negative thoughts and get feel really bad for ourselves. it doesn’t have to be that way. always be on alert with your mind and what it says. be conscious. always ask yourself this, “am i doing this because i want people to think highly about me or bc I like it?”
🍒WORDS YOU NEED TO HEAR : so all in all, i’m just trying to say - you are fucking amazing. just the way you already are. social media can be a beautiful thing if used correctly and be the worst toxic place to be if done wrong. SOCIAL MEDIA DOES NOT DEFINE YOU. I REPEAT. SOCIAL MEDIA DOES NOT DEFINE YOU. YOUR FEED DOES NOT DEFINE YOU. IT IS ALL A SOCIAL CONTRUCT AND YOU SHOULD NOT FEEL BAD FOR ANYTHING (for example not posting much, not having the best pictures, or for posting too much whatever it is. it is in your control and people’s opinion should not EVER matter as long as you are happy & you fulfill yourself, THATS ALL THAT REALLY MATTERS. at the end of the day, it all comes down to you and self respect. respect yourself enough to not make yourself feel shit. own your thoughts & FIGHT that negative talk. work on having a strong sense of self because if u’re very comfortable with you yourself, you don’t even need social media or anyone to make yourself feel amazing or bad.
send me tips & words that might help. love u guys. hope u’re doing well.

a very very genuine question: so its bad to repost art but no one says anything when people repost things from the source material/creator's sketches.....why?like sure everyone who likes it may recognize the style but there are plenty of fan artists i recognize immediately, new or old art, with or without. to me it just feels the same, like either dont repost art or people should be able to repost stuff, i dont see how they can work at the same time. and this isnt me saying people should be allowed to repost and all that bc i do understand the theory of why reposting hurts artists, just that the logic doesnt seem to fit once it extends to famous artists/creators. just bc its official and easily recognizable makes it okay? how does that work? again, there are plenty of fanartists who are easily recognizable and lose no money when people repost their work (bc they posted it for free) and from my own observation, it seems it just, somehow, makes them want to do art less (from what i have read from artists themselves). why do we not consider that when it comes to official creators? wouldnt they also feasibly be less motivated seeing their hard work plastered across the internet for free when thats the sole way they make their income? and its not a system where its solely sticking it to the man bc it hurts the artists income, as well. but if it makes them happy to see people enjoying and sharing their work with others, drawing interest, why isnt it the same with fan artists? people often repost art, not out of malice or intent to claim credit, but bc they enjoy it + want to share it, esp on social media where sharing isnt a feature (instagram, for example) again im not trying to justify reposting, just confused about the contradiction
First of all instagram does have a form of sharing posts- stories. Which yes they are temporary by default, but you can use the highlight feature to collect your favorite things you’ve shared from people right there on your own profile AND it links back to the original post and can permanently be on your profile as long as you keep it there. You can even label them and everything! But then moving on to answering more of your actual questions
To start: this is a very complicated thing. And I feel everyone trying to answer it might have slightly varied opinions.
I personally see a pretty clear distinction between ‘Officially published/released’ works (like comic book [as like you’ve probably seen I frequently post comic panels] or other materials that may have been released in creator guides, official video game art, promotional art for things, etc etc) as opposed to like, personal work and fanart. Because with official works:
There’s usually a source to buy it and you should if you’re referencing it a ton (while I don’t own every comic I’ve ever read I do have a lot and if I did read something first through illegal means [because some comics are just straight up hard to find due to age/being out of print] and enjoyed it I try to seek out a physical copy after if possible)
There is a level of far wider recognition (I know you personally might find fanartists’ styles recognizable but like, things that are in mainstream media.. have just such a higher profile. it’s not really comparable)
If you’re not supporting the official release you’re harming the big company that published it far more than the individual artist (like, the individual artist probably also wouldn’t appreciate it, because it can effect them for sure as well, but they’re not gonna be taking the brunt of the damage unless it was entirely self-published work, which I’d definitely categorize differently from what I’m mainly talking about here.)
Often fanartists/professional artists who aren’t that well known, in addition to wanting to just create work for the sake of it, also want to build their own platform, to have an audience that they interact with. Or like, if they’re offering commissions, a bigger platform puts you in a position where people will actually see the art and want to commission you. When you say reposts of smaller artists’ fanart doesn’t ‘loose them money’ because they didn’t charge to post it, you’re missing the fact that it makes them loose out on proper linked-back-to-them exposure. Especially like, when a repost account on insta or something says ‘ah yes credit to [username] on tumblr’ the vast majority of people who see it aren’t going to then open up a whole different website and look for the artist. Some people might! but if there’s anything i’ve learned from working professionally in arts marketing it’s that people want things that are convenient and directly in front of them. Someone who wants to see more works because they liked one is significantly more likely to click on the username of someone who posted it rather than opening up a browser or a different app and searching a separate name put in the caption.
Then honestly, I do feel weird about reposts of professional artists’ more personal works unless the artist has stated they’re fine with people reposting with credit. It should be about the comfort level of the artist. I think a lot of professional artists who aren’t in a position where they’re as worried about building a platform, because they already have one and might have professional connections/opportunities already lined up, might not really care about reposts especially on a website they don’t use. (Like tumblr. I’m coming at this mostly from a comics artist perspective here, but most professional artists I see are waaaay more active on twitter and instagram than tumblr) If it’s a website they don’t use, it’s not taking away from the platform they had been building there for themselves. And also, some artists really just don’t give a shit, which is their choice they can make with their work! But that’s not a universal thing. One artist being fine with their personal art being reposted =/= all artists being fine with it.
In my own experience as a fanartist, when I see my art reposted without credit, especially when it’s art I’ve also already posted on the same platform... it’s definitely disheartening. Even worse is when the repost gets even more attention than my original post. (something that has happened to me multiple times!) Like, it can get so upsetting!  Because it lets me know that someone else was using my art to build their platform and I got exactly zero benefit out of it. Then when it’s reposted with credit it’s a little less annoying, but I still don’t... get much out of it. Especially if it’s an instagram repost and they credit my tumblr not my account on there, since insta captions don’t actually do links unless it’s to other insta accounts. Also with insta for example, I have a 'business’ account set up so I can look at and track popularity of my posts and see how they’re doing as something to keep in mind when considering posting times, etc etc. When other people repost my art there I have no control over it. That sucks a lot! Also, when I quite literally ask people not to repost my art (it is IN! MY! DESCRIPTION!) and they still do, it’s just straight up disrespectful. I asked for a boundary to be respected with my work and people have just completely ignored it. That doesn’t feel good at all.
But, conversely, I’m gonna talk about my more professional irl work for a sec. I’m a graphic designer, so I do things like posters, logos, etc, When I design a poster for a client that is meant to be advertising something, even if it’s got my own original illustration or something as part of it, I know my name isn’t necessarily going to be attached to it the same way as it is with my personal work. I get a credit line somewhere, but that’s in a fine print probably not even on the poster itself at all, but that’s like, part of what I signed up for. I already get paid separately, I am giving permission for my work to be out of my own hands in that way. Professional work for a client is often setup in some way similar to this. I don’t get mad when I walk down the street and see a poster I made up somewhere without it directly ‘linking’/referencing back to me (aside from maybe my signature if it had an illustration), in fact I go ‘OMG ITS THERE ugh wait i see one pixel is off oh noooooo” and then move on with my day. It’s just an entirely different situation because that kind of work has a different arrangement from the start, where you know it’s going to be put in a different type of circulation.
So yeah, my word isn’t god here, but I definitely see official releases as having a different set of permissions based on the fact that they are published in an entirely different situation. And I think reposts of personal art aren’t cool if the artist isn’t okay with them, no matter how big a platform they have. Other people probably approach this with a slightly different perspective, but that’s mine!

Also since some of yall won't hear the blacktiny side of this debacle, lemme hit you with the Hongjoong and Ateez side of this (bc from some of the anons, yall are putting Hongjoongie over Blacktiny and apparently this is the only way I can get through to some yall hardheaded and borderline or full on racist asses)
KQ following in the footsteps of bigger companies before them and putting Hongjoong in braids (several times, looking at those new photos hnn) isnt good for Hongjoong, Ateez, or KQ.
Looking back at bands who have had the same thing done and gone through similar cultural appropriation incidents (i.e, BTS, EXO, Blackpink, Red Velvet, Stray Kids, Mamamoo, iKon, NCT (all units, including the recent WayV incident), etc ), you not only insult your fans by mocking their culture and/or using them for a costume, you also sever ties with a lot of potential fans and on the business end of it, thats a completely unessesary loss.
To this day, even after apologies, bands that have gone this path STILL have people who wont even touch the band because of their cultural appropriation. Everyone is different, but at the end of the day, poc are not REQUIRED to forgive companies and bands and swallow the pill, so to speak, when these topics come up.
Understand when I say what I'm about to say that I dont condone bullying, but I am using the previously mentioned incidents as examples but
To. This. Day. Even after apologies and what appears to be understanding and remorse from companies and artists, both fans and 'antis' will still bring up these cultural appropriation incidents. Even YEARS after its passed and if there was no repeat offense in between. Again, i in no capacity am condoning bullying or threats, but to this very day idols like Bang Chan (SKZ), Taeyong (NCT), Namjoon (BTS) are recieving threats and constant harassment for mistakes made previously because companies refuse to learn.
KQ set Hongjoong up for some bullshit, and all of this is completely and utterly unnecessary.
Now, unpopular opinion or whatever, but I still hold to my opinion that Hongjoong did not want this shit. He has been nothing but sincere about his intentions to connect with Atiny of all cultures and build a strong relationship with us. I very seriously doubt he was in agreement to this.
That being said, it is perfectly okay to still be disappointed. In him, in KQ. He by no means deserves hate, but as someone who is not only a blacktiny, but also Hongjoong biased myself, anyone disappointed in him is valid in being as such.
On the same hand, I'd like us all to keep in mind that Hongjoong is an idol. And I know a lot of us in the west have a very western view on things, but at the end of the day, we have to understand idol culture and companies are different from over in the west.
These idols may have *some* creative freedoms and control, some more than most, but at the end of the day, unless they completely run their own company and make their own rules, they do not have full say in what happens to them and their careers.
Idols have been very vocal about this in the past. And again, I'm in no way saying idols are completely helpless or that *some* of them dont actually see the error in their ways (plenty of idols really are just,,,problematic, no company bullshit needed), but I ask yall, if bands that have been around half a decade or more still dont have full creative control over their lives and careers, what makes yall think Hongjoong (if he didn't want these braids, which I strongly believe he didnt) could actually say no to the company holding him and his whole band in their hands and stand a chance?
I cannot stress that I'm not telling people they cant be mad or hurt *at* Hongjoong, but I'm seeing a lot of people saying he could've just "walked out of the chair" "hes a grown man, he can say no" and??? Not really no he cant???
Moving on to the reason a lot of these companies give when we raise hell about CA (if they bother to respond to), thats rooted in so many problems.
They say they put (African) braids or dreadlocs in idols hair because its "cool" or "makes them look tough" or some shit.
It fits an aesthetic. Thats why. Because it fits a hood aesthetic.
I really shouldn't have to explain to yall the problem in using someone else's culture to fit an aesthetic, but since this always comes up, allow me to tell yall a bit of why thats a problem.
The braids come into play when they want their idols, (mostly rappers, a role adopted from black culture) to look "gangsta"/"tough"/"intimidating"/or 🙄🙄🙄"urban". They take hairstyles from black culture to fit an image thats ~intimidating~.
Our braids, our dreads (which, again, to some rasta peoples, is a RELIGOUS symbol and SACRED) are temporarily put on these idols so people can gasp and go "ooo intimidating."
Historically, black people who wear their hair in braids or dreads are turned down from jobs, assaulted wrongly, looked at with prejudice, or down right murdered for the same idea. Nonblack people are historically more intimidated by a black person with hair in braids or in dreads because media portrays black people who dont have short cuts or straightened hair as someone to be feared.
Our braids, they're protective styles.
Our dreads, also protective, sometimes religious.
Our hair isnt for us to look "cool" or "intimidating". That whack ass excuse doesnt work. Companes are in their 4th generation of kpop and refuse to learn from the mistakes of past companies and generations. Yall use our culture (and brown and latinx cultures) improperly and when we tell yall why its wrong, we're pushed aside by our own fandoms or the companies we're constantly giving money to.
We're not asking for an arm and a leg. We're asking for yall to listen to us and not blatantly spit in our faces. We matter just as much as East Asian and white fans.
Also, not nearly as relevant as most of this post, but standing with blacktiny and our allies for this voting really shouldn't be as controversial and hectic as it is.
Thanxx and Inception are amazing songs. Thanxx is not going to disappear if yall vote Inception. It literally means Inception will be the TITLE song, therefore the song getting the MOST attention out of the two, which is important because you're not forcing blacktiny to have to deal with a whole promotional period of pushing a mv where our culture is blatantly being disrespected. Thanxx as a B side is not the end of the world. No, people shouldn't be rude to you about the voting, but I ask that yall please take that into account when we ask you to vote Inception.
Stay hydrated. Listen to your neighbors when they're talking about their cultures and their pain. Thanks

CAN I START OFF BY SAYING THAT THE MC IS SUCH A BITCH TO TAE SOMETIMES???? especially during arguments... like she says sm hurtful shit to him (hits him w a purse?!??), twists his words and doesn't even wanna consider the fact that Taehyung might have a different opinion on some things ugh (no communication, just DROUGHT) this is frustrating fjakjwkdb i have to say (unbiased, really) that I'm on Tae's side most of the time lol... yes, he does word his thoughts quite poorly sometimes, but even w the Smith situation, he had a point and the MC, really, just made a problem out of nothing,, + the marriage thing!! this is my personal opinion and i understand that not everyone is going to agree, but,,,, Taehyung has been through SHIT, we all know that (+yes, he shouldn't have said the things he said in front of her friends at the wedding) but she's literally blaming him for not wanting to relive his trauma and she also calls him pathetic bc of that??...babygorlllll :// still love this story tho and can't wait for the next chapter !!!!! <3 (+ i hope this doesn't sound mean omg i just can't word my thoughts in a better way)
(*praying that this is readable bc it's currently 0:36 AM and English is not my mother language im sorry ://*)
(+IM ADDING SM NOTES HERE BUT AM I THE ONLY ONE HERE WHO DOESNT SEE MARRIAGE AS A GOAL IN THEIR LIFE? IT MIGHT BE MY INTROVERTED ASS BUT I DEFINITELY DONT LOOK FORWARD TO ANY DAY WHEN EVERY PAIR OF EYES IS ON ME!!!! LIKE HOW DO PEOPLE COPE WITH THAT, WHAT DO YOU THINK?)
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO SAID THIS!!! I understand everyone’s mad at tae for the ending but you can;t forget oc says a lot of mean shit to tae!! I would say they’re both equally mean to each other because their views are just completely on different ends of the spectrum. Oc is all about idealism whereas Tae’s quite cynical with his realism, so they just need to find a balance. I WILL say though oc had the right to get mad at tae about Smith because taehyung was downplaying her hard work!! I’m sorry but if my man really said that I’m only getting promoted/gaining an opportunity for work NOT because of how hard I work I would’ve whacked him with my purse too SHDODMEPFK.
AHH ITS OKAY I’M GLAD YOU’RE SO INVESTED IN THE STORY LOVES!! THANK YOU FOR READING 💓💓
