HOW THE FORMAT WORKS!:

the first round will contain a battle between the four characters in each box. only two in each box will move forward (the highest and second-highest voted)

the second round will contain a battle between two winners of one square and two of another, and only two will move forward

the third round is exactly like the last round, except only one will move forward

the fourth round will contain a battle between one winner and another, and only one will move forward

the fifth round is exactly like the last round, with the winner moving forward to compete for the ultimate win

the sixth round is the final round and will decide who is the winner of Spencer’s Super Awesome Character Battle 2024!!

The apocalypse, a classic scenario. Except what if it was also kinda slice of life like? Or at least if I were to actually make this into a series that's how I'd imagine it being. It's the last day of school and now suddenly a teacher and his daughters' summer are going to be spent hiding inside away from zombies... With his ex best friend/ex crush/ex enemy and that guy's current best friend.

Kaitlyn's and Carly's mom, Cameron, died when they were young (8 & 2 yrs old respectively at the time, now 16 & 10 when our story takes place) and soon after their birth father, Henry, went to jail. So they were put in care of their godfather, Matt. He makes a great dad for them. He's also high school English teacher.

Matt, Cameron and Damien were best friends in middle and high school. Until Damien's homophobic parents, his own internalized homophobia, and jealousy that Matt was accepted and love for who he was, got to him. He started to separate from them. Then he became friends bad people at the school, school bullies and stuff. Yeah, Matt and Damien didn't like each other in their last year at all. Damien ended up moving towns. Until recently when he moved back to his hometown. Now he's become friends with a bartender, Hailey, at one of the local bars. In fact she's his only friend. Now that it's so many years later he's done a ton of reflecting and knows what he did was wrong. He wants to apologize to Matt but doesn't actually have the guts to find him and say sorry. (I imagine he's actually nearly ran into him several but always runs into alley ways or hides behind trees or gets himself into a goofy scenario in order to hide).

Then the zombie apocalypse starts. It's not your typically zombie apocalypse, it's not power runs out and news stations are gone and they have to go scavenge for food. It's more like... Well honestly it's more like covid. And when Matt sees a random guy running for zombies and saves him, it's a little too late when he realizes just who that guy is, Damien. By coincidence Kaitlyn also saves Hailey. And now they're all stuck in a house a together. Yippee.

Kaitlyn would do and Matt would do anything for their family. And by that I ofc mean each other and Carly. Also Kaitlyn's best friend Willow. Kaitlyn doesn't really like anyone outside those 3, I mean she'll help people who really need help but she's not going to want to keep talking afterwards. Like "ok I saved your life? I'm not friend tho, you can go away now". Matt is kind to everyone, and tries to to see the best in everyone. Although he definitely doesn't see the best in Henry, in fact he absolutely hates that man, Henry is the only person that has made him break. Ofc he's also going to struggle a bit with Damien at first. Matt also tends to take all his negative emotions and... Pushes them down. Even though he tells others that's a bad thing to do. He's needs to be strong and no one else needs to see those, he's fine, he'll just cry at night. Damien doesn't like sharing his emotions either, drowns them out with alcohol. Damien is super cool and totally not a loser wet cat of man (yes he is).

Hailey is fun, fairly positive, funny and sarcastic. Damien's the only regular she doesn't mind, ofc they also became actual friends too. Willow is sweet, Kaitlyn's best friend and really the only one she ever hangs out with. Definitely tries to encourage Kaitlyn to do things out of her comfort, but would never force her to do anything. Willow's family got lucky with being on vacation right when the apocalypse started. But they have to come back eventually. In a way Willow is happy when she comes back, it feels better to see friend in person. Victor is another high school teacher, specifically math. He's not a well liked teacher, he's not like a total absolute piece of shit but he does kinda suck. Matt's always felt that if you chipped away long enough there Victor could be a really good person. Who knew a near death experience would be the cause to make him change?

Resurfaced

(Kevin Atwater x Original Female Character)

Kevin finds it hard to protect what's his when the past comes back to haunt him and his wife.

Moonlight & ambient noise from the city streets several stories below filled the room. Both of you barely dressed, Kevin’s large muscular frame rested comfortably on top of you in the bed. Having just made love for the first time in weeks, neither one of you wanted to move from this space. He kissed you right above your collarbone, which still managed to make you quiver in all the right places. You gently traced circles along his back and finally decided it was time to break the silence.

“What’s wrong?”

He shifted to place his lips slightly lower on your chest as a distraction. While leaving gentle kisses.. “Everything’s...fine..Bianca..”

Finding it difficult to concentrate and not cave in to another round of passion, you immediately put his head in your hands to get his attention. Motioning for him to move so you could sit up straight, readjusting the sheets over your bare chest as he rolls on to his back, clearly annoyed. Play time was over.

“Kevin, I’m serious. I know something happened. You've been distracted, almost nervous, all week. Then tonight..you were different. I can’t describe it but you know I’m right.”

Kissing your hand, he realized in this moment that honesty with you was the only way. You were his wife after all, the person he loved more than anyone and would do anything to protect. He finally sat up, back towards you, facing the wall. You waited anxiously for words to come out of his mouth.

“It’s Damien. He’s back in Chicago.”

This sentence instantly shot chills down your spine. Kevin turned around to take you in, evaluating your mental state after hearing this news. Tears welling up in your eyes.

“Bianca.”

“How is that possible? I thought...what??”

“He popped up last week. We were working the case. Burgess was under with Upton at this little hole in the wall in Pilsen and he showed up at their meet.

“Did he see her? Is she ok?”

“She’s fine babe. Kim thought she might get made so she dipped out really quickly & let Hailey finish the deal. Voight & I have had a security detail on you ever since.”

You were now panicked and obviously upset that this news was kept from you. “You’ve what?! Don’t you think that’s something I should’ve known?! Oh my God.”

You jump out of bed sheet in tow, now pacing the floor. Kevin, knowing the bombshell he’d just dropped gives you another minute to process before he’s up and off the bed behind you.

Taking your face in his hands, the deepest sincerity in his heart, “B, look at me. I will NEVER let that piece of shit touch you again. Do you hear me? I know I should’ve told you, but I didn’t want you worried, especially without me being here for so long. I gotchu... You’re safe with me.” Kissing your forehead & wiping away your tears.

“I know. I know I am. I just thought this was all over. I don’t want my mess affecting Intelligence. If anything happened to Kim or you because of my past…”

Now sobbing, Kevin wraps you in his reassuring arms, with a steely look of determination to protect his world on his face.

Morning came, and you were startled awake by the sound of Kevin’s phone ringing. You heard the shower running in the next room so you reached to answer it with a groggy hello.

“Hi Hank.”

“Bianca, how you holdin’ up kiddo?”

Hank had become like family to you rather quickly. Your case was special. Damien was a long time predator he and Al had been trying to capture for years. When Hank found you 6 years ago, beaten, bloodied and half conscious, he made it his duty to look after you, especially seeing that you had no relatives in a new city. You were there with him through it all...Justin’s disappearing acts, Al’s passing, which eventually led to you meeting and falling in love with Atwater.

“I thought he was dead. How is he back? Why is he back?”

“I’m doing everything in my power to figure that out, Bianca. Don’t you worry about this ok? We’re gonna get this prick.”

Nothing anyone said could completely reassure you in this moment, but you nodded in agreement anyway.

“Yeah...Kev’s in the shower. I’ll have him call you back.”

You hang up the phone and get out of bed, looking for something to throw on. You find an oversized hoodie of your husbands and a pair of shorts.

You exit the bedroom just as Kevin emerges from the bathroom, towel around his waist.

“Hey...I was gonna wear that today.”

Completely deadpan, “It looks better on me.”

As he walks towards the kitchen to greet you, “You’re right about that. Good morning.”

Attempting to plant a kiss on your cheek, you show zero emotion & continue to prep your cup of tea.

He shakes his head but decides to give you your space and heads to the bedroom to get dressed.

Standing at the threshold of your bedroom door, tea in hand you boldly say, “I want you to put me under.”

Kevin stops in his tracks, as if he’s spotted Bigfoot buying a Venture card on the green line. Pulling his shirt the rest of the way over his head.

“Put you under what??!”

“You know what I mean. Undercover, Kevin. You know I’m part of the reason he’s back in Chicago. He didn’t get what he wanted from me before Voight found me that night. His usual pattern was completely thrown off. I want to help. I need to help catch him.”

Kevin storms passed you in to the living room. You follow.

“HELL NO. Are you joking?! You want us to damn near put you in the hands of the man who almost took you from me, before I got a chance to have you?! Absolutely not.”

You walk towards him softly. Knowing this will be a hard battle to win, you sit in front of him on a chair as he leans against the wall.

“Baby...it’s taken years for me to feel safe in my own skin again. You did that for me. Hank looking after me, leading me to you. This life that we’ve built is the greatest gift I could’ve ever gotten. And now you’re telling me that someone is threatening what we’ve worked to create? I can’t just stand and watch while you guys, my family, puts themselves in harms way for me. I have to do something.

………

A few weeks had gone by and Intelligence still had no leads in their investigation. It was almost as if Damien Charles had never resurfaced...until the team got an alert that a young woman was found dead in an abandoned warehouse, brutally assaulted. They had no real proof, as Damien was very careful, but it was definitely his MO. Kevin was on edge and pissed at you, somehow believing that shutting you out would stop you from getting your way. Knowing your husband wouldn’t budge, you decided to go to Hank to convince him to use you as bait to catch Damien. He reluctantly obliged.

Night fell on the 21st. Upton and Burgess were prepping your phone with a tracking device while Ruzek and Halstead checked weapons and started to vest up. You were nervous, but Kim kept reminding you to take deep breaths. “We’ll be with you the whole time.”

“I know, I just wish Kevin…”

Hailey chimed in, handing you your phone, “Trust me, he’ll come around Bianca. It’s in their nature to want to protect us, but sometimes it’s up to us to take that power back ourselves.”

Kevin was upstairs in the locker room wreaking havoc on anything that wasn’t pinned down. Hank, hearing the commotion from down the hall, rushed in to see who had lost their mind.

“Kevin! Kevin!”

“How could you let her do this man?! I’m her husband! You don’t get to make that kind of decision for her.”

“Neither do you, Kev. This was her choice, do you understand? No matter how much either of us wants to catch this scumbag, she wants him gone a whole lot more. She’s stronger than you think. Now you have a choice. You either hang back, mad at the world or you gear up and back Bianca...back this team.”

Back downstairs, having settled in on the choice you’d made, “Ok, let’s do this.”

As the three of you were headed out of the room to join the others, Kevin walked in. Kim touched his shoulder in an attempt to reassure him as she walked away. You wanted to find solace in his familiar embrace, but you knew it was pointless. The walls were up. He walked towards you and you immediately noticed the tears in his eyes. “Kev…” Grabbing your hand and leaving a kiss on your frontal lobe, he quickly wiped his face and walked out to join the others.

It was a typical undercover mission, except this time, the stakes were much higher. You and Upton walked into the crowded club, dressed as if you were ready to party. The intel the team gathered tracked Damien at this same location several days in a row looking for his next victim. The rest of the team were scattered throughout the room or on surveillance outside the main entrance. This was one of those cases where justice was decided by Voight and his team, no judge or jury necessary.

You spot him almost immediately. Tapping Hailey on the arm, she reports back to the group, “We have eyes on Damien. He’s at the bar talking to a young woman.”

Hailey turns to you and for a moment, you can’t even remember your own name.

“Bianca, you ready? You good?”

“Yes. I’m ready.”

Morphing into a drunken party goer ready to have more fun, you make your way to the bar.

Halstead distracts the woman Damien is speaking to, saving her from imminent danger.

As Damien walks away, pissed that he had to ‘let that one go’ he spots you. A beautiful & familiar face. You’ve changed over the years, but a vulture never forgets its uneaten prey. You’re nervous as hell. More thoughts run through your mind than you can handle at once, but for now, you must push them aside.

No sooner than you spotted him, Damien disappeared into the crowd. You called Kim as a cover while you began to look around. “Hey girlie! I thought you were supposed to meet me tonight? I don’t see you!”

Kim responds on the other line…”Keep talking, Jay is checking the bathroom. He couldn’t have gone far.”

You spot Kevin on the stairwell on the other side of the club. Everything will be fine….

The fire alarm sounds.

Suddenly you feel a sharp pain in your neck.

A look of panic on Kevin’s face in the distance is the last thing you see as the cell phone slips from your hands.

Everything goes BLACK.

Chaos has ensued in the club. The alarm continues to blare, sprinklers shooting out water, and people running in every direction. Voight radios in as he and Ruzek are covering the perimeter, trying to calm down the frantic crowd. “Hailey, talk to me! Is everyone ok in there?!”

Kevin has bolted down the stairs, pushing his way through the crowd as he sees Damien pick you up and drag you out a backdoor. “B!! Bianca!!” It’s as if he’s trying to run in quicksand. As Kevin finally makes it to the back door, Burgess, who isn’t far behind spots your phone on the floor. She blots out after Kevin who is racing to his car. They get in, Kevin, not saying a word, speeding down the block trying not to lose you. Kim radios the team.

“Sarge, Damien has Bianca! We’re headed the wrong way down Parkside Ave in pursuit of a late model gray pick up truck. Tags are Indiana custom DG ...L16. We’re making a right on to George St. now!”

“We’re coming!! Don’t lose them!”

The high speed chase through the streets of Chicago continues as the rest of the team joins Atwater and Burgess. Atwater loses sight of the truck for what seems like an eternity. Ruzek radios Kim… “I just pulled up at the warehouse. I see the truck.”

Kevin picks up speed, gripping the wheel even tighter, “Copy that. Tell him we’re 5 mins out.”

You begin to come out of your fog. The dark room Damien has you in smells like mildew and death, yet in weird contrast, you’re lying on a mattress with fresh white sheets. Damien, not realizing that you’ve woken up, is in the corner at a table pouring wine and gathering instruments. You scan the room looking for anything to use as a weapon. Fear takes over as he walks towards the bed. You pretend to still be in a daze.

Scanning your body, then touching your face… “Wow. You’re more beautiful than I remember, darling. I’ve been waiting for this chance to be with you again.” He sits you up, started to touch you more, now looking down your shirt.

“Please, don’t…” Before you can get the words out of your mouth, his hand is around your neck. Gasping for air, tears start to stream down your face.

“DON’T act like you don’t want this! Hank Voight stole our chance at happiness years ago. And he thought he had me, but now is our time.”

As Damien leans in to connect his lips with yours, the sound of metal hitting pavement resounds in another area of the warehouse stopping him. He loosens his grip on you allowing just enough time for you to lunge for the bottle of wine and swing it hard against his skull.

“KEVIN!!!!!!” You scream, as you quickly scramble out of Damien’s grip. Racing towards the door, your realize that it’s locked from within. As you begin to pound on the door, Damien slowly starts to move closer to you. “KEVIN!!!! HANK!!! Please...down here!!”

Had the noise you heard a few minutes prior been a false alarm? Did you make a mistake? Damien’s disorientation and head gushing with blood give you time to look around the room for another way out, but nothing. With a newfound burst of energy, he lunges towards you like the madman that he is now pinning you against the wall. You fight him off with every ounce of strength you have.

BOOM!!!!!!

Moments later in true Atwater fashion, the door to your current prison swings open. Without any hesitation, Kevin grabs Damien and tosses him yards across the room. He stands over his exhausted body and begins to pummel his face like a boxing bag. Ruzek rushes in to stop him.

“Kev! Kev! We got him man! We got him.”

Snapping back to reality, Kevin turns his attention back towards you, crouched down near the door crying. Voight and the rest of Intelligence are now in the room. They stand in utter disbelief that this madness has finally come to an end.

Without saying a word, Kevin comes down to your level and begins to gently kiss every inch of your tear-filled face as if there’s healing in his touch….you’ve always known that there is.

You wrap your arms around him as he carefully lifts you up off the floor. You’ve never felt more relieved in all your life.

Voight, clearly broken up at seeing you in this state, puts a hand on Kevins shoulder. “Make sure you get her over to Med. We’ll clean up here.”

Fully leaning on your husband for support, the two of you exit the room.

Kevin hadn’t left your side since being admitted into the hospital two days ago. He was planted in the chair beside you.

“Do you need anything babe?”

Touching his cheek to reassure him, despite the IV in your arm. “I’m ok, thank you.”

Dr. Halstead walks into the room to check in. “Bianca, we got all of the test results back. The syringe he used to sedate you wasn’t contaminated, and everything else is cleared. You’ll be able to go home today.”

Kevin gets up to shake his hand. “Thank you man. Seriously, thank you.”

“Of course. Bianca take it easy ok? Try to hold off on being a hero for a while.”

With a smile, “I’ll try. Thanks Will”

Will walks out. Voight walks in.

He and Kevin hug.

“Hey Sarge.”

“How’s our patient doing?”

“I get to leave today.”

“Ok! That’s great. Oh look at those balloons.”

Kevin chuckles, “Yeah, everyone stopped by yesterday.”

Voight walks closer to the bed like a proud father and takes your hand. “I’m really proud of your kiddo.” You squeeze his hand in acknowledgement, knowing that for Voight that sentence translated into ‘I love you and I couldn’t bear it if we lost you.’

Voight starts to walk out of the room and Kevin follows.

“Yo Sarge, are we good? You know.”

“He’s gone. Forever this time. Ruzek and I took care of it for you.” With a pat on Kevin’s chest, Voight looks back at you one more time and leaves.

Kevin makes his way back into the room. You sit up a bit, still weak and reach for him.

“Everything ok?”

“Everything’s perfect, B. Everything’s perfect.”

He kisses you as if there’s no one else in the world besides the two of you. His world has been set right once again.

“Let’s get you home.”

When Sophia woke, she found herself wrapped around Hailey on her bed. She slowly came to as she sat up, clutching her pulsing head as she did. Her eyes were a little sore to the touch when she rubbed off the dry sleep in her eyes.

“You feel better?” Hailey asked groggily as she sat up. She yawned with a wide stretch.

“Mhm…”

Hailey gave her a soft smile, “Good. Let me get you some cream to help with the swelling under your eyes.” She got out the bed and headed towards her nightstand, “Do you have plans today? If not maybe we should have a girl’s day? We can go into town or something.”

“Can we do that tomorrow? I’m meeting Minseok at 11:30.”

Hailey’s eyes lit up, “You’re going on a date with him! Finally!” She rushed back to Sophia with the cream in hand, “Then we really need to work out the swelling. Maybe I can hide it with some makeup?”

Sophia shook her head, “It’s fine. Besides, after last night- I doubt Minseok would think I like him at all.” Her hand rubbed the side of her face as she recalled last night. “Though Yixing didn’t kiss me, in Minseok’s view it must have seemed that way…”

Hailey frowned as she dabbed the cream under Sopia’s eyes. “Then you’ll just have to explain what really happened. That Yixing confessed to you and you rejected him. It’s simple.”

“True… I should check on Yixing though.”

“Don’t worry about him? I’ll check on him.”

Sophia stood at the entrance of the Great Hall watching as the other students walked past her. Her hand twisted the ends of her yellow hair as she glanced down at her yellow sweater, a gift from Minseok for her 16th birthday, and her black leggings with cuts in the knees. She opted for her starry night small backpack that rested in her hand. She glanced up once more to see Minseok directly in front of her. She jumped at his sudden appearance as her lips twisted upward, “Hi.”

“Hey” he responded awkwardly. “Have you decided where you want to go?”

She nodded her head as she reached out and took his hand, “This way!” He stumbled a second as she yanked him forward. She smiled wider and pulled him with her.

“We’re in Hogsmeade! We’re in Hogsmeade!” Sophia bounced as she got off the train.

“Careful” he reached out and caught her by the waist just as she took a step on the wet stairs. “With your luck you’ll slip on the snow or something. You’re not cold, right? Why did you decide to wear something so light?”

She turned her bag to show her backpack, “I packed my bag with a heavy jacket and pants if I get too cold. I didn’t know it was going to be the first snow day, but that just makes it so much more fun, right!”

Minseok released her waist when she made it down the stairs. He followed after her with his hands in his pockets. She hummed happily as she stepped in the few layers of snow. She shivered as a squeal left her lips. He smiled as he watched her gaze down the main street in excitement. “People are going to think you’ve never been here before, ya know?”

She turned to see a twinkle in his eyes as he spoke. “I can come here a thousand times and still feel like it’s my first time.” She skipped further ahead as she looked around the area. Sophia glanced back to Minseok who shook his head at her childlike happiness. She didn’t feel the awkwardness between them as she had when he showed up at the Great Hall which was a sense of relief for her. “Ready to go to the place of my choice?”

“Lead the way.”

Sophie jumped in her spot in excitement as she stared at the shop before them. Minseok, however, looked at the shop in disbelief. “Here?” Without missing a beat, she nodded her head fast. “But this is for couples.” She nodded again. “We’re not a couple? And what about Yi--”

She waved him off. “We’re a couple of friends” she grinned earning a did you really just say that. She let out a huff, “I waste all my good jokes on you. Baekhyun would have laughed. If you don’t want to go in with me, I can ask Baekhyun to because Damien would never agree to come here either.”

Minseok’s nose crinkled at Baekhyun’s name. He took her hand, “Come on, then.” He dragged her inside.

Once inside, the two made it to a table, Minseok pushed out Sophia’s seat before he took his own. “Why did you want to come here of all places?” Sophia pulled off the yellow sweater that rested over a white blouse as Minseok shrugged off his coat.

“I like that blue on you” she commented. Sophia’s attention turned to the teapot as it moved on it’s own, “I wanted to come here once before you go and graduate.” Her eyes twinkled as she took the teacup off it’s dish. She dropped a couple of sugar cubes and stirred as she tried to hide the blush on her face.

Minseok’s eyebrow rose, “You wanted to go somewhere with me--for couples?” His heart raced with false hope. “What about Yixing?”

Sophia’s eyebrow twitched, “What about him? He’s just a friend.” Her voice was low as she spoke. She glanced up at him with an unfamiliar look in her eyes, “I might as well just put this on the table. What you saw last night--what you think you saw didn’t happen? We didn’t kiss or anything…”

“Oh, okay.”

They fell into an awkward silence as the chatter around them took up the space. Sophia looked out at the window as the new snow fell, “Can you believe it’s been 5 years since we met?” Minseok looked at her as she spoke. Her shoulders shook as she let out a chuckle, “I was such a mess when we first met.”

“I didn’t think so” the words left his lips before he could stop them, “I think anyone in your boat would have felt the same way. Yixing was pretty panicked after his sorting. Except he tried to sleep through everything thinking it was just a dream.”

“I can see that!” She laughed, “He’s kind of an idiot like that.”

“Yea…”

The two caught up with each other’s week and brought up things in the past that made them laugh. However, she couldn’t bring herself to talk about the night before and each time Yixing’s name entered the conversation, they fell into an awkward silence. Sophia took a bite of her cake. “What will you do after you graduate?” She asked. Her eyes looked from her cake to Minseok.

Minseok cleared his throat, “I was offered an apprenticeship in the Ministry, so I’ll be going there. I still have some months before that happens though. They wanted to start it before I graduate so I can get accustomed to the job.”

Sophia smiled softly, but the lingering sadness was in her eyes, “Yea, of course… I forgot about that.”

“Though, you still have two more years, what will you do?” Sophia went quiet before she shrugged. “No idea?”

The conversation from the day before dredged up from her memories. The heaviness set in once more, “Well, I do, but it’s not anything too crazy and cool.”

Minseok chuckled as he put his head on his open palm, “Tell me.” His smile faltered as he noticed the change of her hair, the yellow turned a slight green before fading to a pale blue. His brow creased as he looked up at her face. She stabbed her cake not looking up from the sweet in front of her. “You don’t have to tell me if it’s--”

“I want to be a florist… There, happy?”

Minseok gave her a confused look, “Like Professor Longbottom? A herbology professor?”

Sophia let out a sigh, “Nevermind. Forget it.” She shoved the cake piece in her mouth as she remembered the letter she had received from her parents encouraging her to continue her studies in the wizarding community after she graduated. How Yixing, though a muggleborn like her, wanted nothing more than to remain in this world of magic unlike her who wanted to be normal.

Minseok reached over the table and took her hand in his, he met her defeated looking eyes. “This is your dream, right?” She nodded, “Then I want to know about it. Please?”

“Before--Before I beca...well found out I am a witch, my dream was to own my own flower shop. It’s still something I really want to do.” She looked down at her tea, “When I used to go home after school, I practiced flower arrangements with my grandmother. She used to be a florist too and like her, I love making people smile with colorful flowers or a bundle of roses.” Sophia played with the ends of her yellow tipped ends, “She had customers from every neck of the woods come to town just to get her flowers. All were grown in her own greenhouse and it was like a real fairy garden. It wasn’t just some greenhouse with rows of flowers in planters, but an actual garden blossoming in their own safe haven without the stress of mother nature’s violent weather.” A darkness filled her eyes as she swallowed hard, “But then… grandma died. It was only a couple months before I got my letter to Hogwarts. She was healthy, so I didn’t understand it. She rarely took medicine, only if she was really sick, but one night in her sleep, she had a heart attack. No one was there to help her… My parents sold the shop and I had never felt so much anger. I snapped and when we went to hand the keys to the new owner, I just glared at the store wishing it would burn down. All of it. Not a bit to remain. And it did. First it was a spark then the flame grew and it consumed all of my grandmother’s hard work…” Sophia let out a spiteful scoff, “I got my wish and I hated it so much. I regretted it because I didn’t have the magic of grandma’s shop anymore. I couldn’t walk past it when I went to school. I lost the very thing that made my grandma her.”

“I don’t know when I decided to be a florist, but I knew even when I came here to Hogwarts that I wasn’t going to do anything but be a florist. I honestly don’t want to have a wizard job. My parents weren’t happy when I told them. They think I should try to get into some job in the wizard community because I excel so well, so does the Head of my house. They’re so insistent that they want to bring Headmistress McGonagall into a meeting with me. I know you wouldn’t get it, but I kind of miss the simple muggle life I had. No one seems to get it, not even Yixing...” She stared off out the cafe window. “Then again, if I didn’t have magic, I never would have met everyone in my house and of course you.” Sophia turned and flashed him a smile, “I’m glad I met you, Minseok. I wouldn’t have given that up for anything.”

Minseok suggested a change of scenery and they left the cafe. He led them out of the town of Hogsmeade to a hidden spot that looked outward to beautiful snow capped trees and hills. “Are you okay?” Minseok asked.

Sophia nodded as she opted in wearing her heavier jacket and let out a breath of cold air. “It’s so quiet here.” She crossed her legs on the bench before she looked at Minseok, “Thanks for coming out with me” her eyes mirrored the smile on her lips.

Minseok wiped off the snow before he took a seat beside her. He thought for a moment as he looked out at the snow, “I may not understand how you feel about magic. I grew up around it as did most of us. It’s part of our life as it is part of yours now.” He pulled out his wand and held it loosely in his fingers, “I don’t think you have to decide on one world or the other to be part of, it’s not a choice you have to make. Just like my family. My dad can’t use magic, but he enjoys watching my mom and I using it. He loves soccer, but ever since he discovered Quidditch it’s one of his favorite sports to watch. He’s a muggle living in a wizard world.” Minseok smiled at Sophia as he spun his wand in hand. “I think your dream is great. And so what if it’s not a wizard job. That doesn’t mean you’re just going to stop being a witch if you don’t get into the Ministry of Magic or something.”

“I won’t stop being a witch…” she mumbled. “I never thought about it that way… I always felt like I had to pick one or the other, but I don’t.” She bit her lip as she thought about her florist dream. A droplet of snow fell on her cheek causing a shiver down her spine. She looked up to see snow once again descending from the sky.

Minseok chuckled, drawing her attention to him. “You have snow still on your cheek.” He reached out and brushed the snow only for more to fall in her hair and lashes. She let out a giggle as the coldness seeped into her lashes. Minseok watched her reaction as he leaned closer to her. His finger traced her cheek as his eyes never left hers. Her giggle subsided as she watched him at a tantalizing pace. Minseok’s eyes shut seconds before his lips descended on hers. The hand on her cheek dropped to the side of her neck to draw her closer as they kissed.

Sophia’s breath faltered before she kissed him back. Her pulse picked up speed as she chased after his lips when he tried to draw back. Her hand held onto his arm as he deepened the kiss. His tongue traced her lips and she willingly let him in. The snow kissed their face as their lips never parted.

It had been a week since Sophia and Minseok kissed. Sophia ran through the corridors ignoring the calls of prefects and professors alike who told her to stop. She saw the Great Hall come into view which made her pick up speed. She rushed inside and scanned the Hufflepuff table to see her friends gathered together. Sophia sprinted to their area before finally slowing down.

“Bloody hell, why are you running so early in the morning?” Damien hissed, “It’s too damn early for all that.”

“Is something wrong?” Chanyeol asked as he looked up from his cereal.

“No, not wrong! Great! Like super great!” She glanced around the table and noticed one friend was missing, “Where’s Minseok?” She noticed the tension in her group and looked about, “What’s wrong?”

Her friends looked over at Yixing for an answer. “Oh hells” Hailey tsked her eyes red with rage. “Yixing and Minseok got into an argument a moment ago and Minseok stormed off.”

Yixing nudged Hailey in the side, “Shut it.” His eyes were darker than usual as he glared at Hailey.

“No, what you said was rude and out of line. Minseok was there for you from the moment you entered this school” she snapped. “We may not be muggleborns, but that doesn’t mean we don’t understand what it’s like to be different. We’re mostly half-bloods in this group minus Baekhyun, Damien, and Chanyeol. We were raised in muggle communities.”

Yixing clicked his tongue, “You were still raised with magic, people like Sophia and I weren’t. You wouldn’t ever understand or be at our level.” His eyes narrowed, “Every single one of you have been spoiled growing up in this world. None of you could understand what it’s like being a muggleborn. Having no magic in your life, having part of your life taken from you before you were even put on the earth only to have it suddenly show up and wreak havoc in your life.”

“Yixing!” Sophia hissed as she glared at him.

Hailey slammed her hands on the table, the echo drew a silence in the already nearly empty hall. Her eyes bloodshot as they watered with tears, “Yea? My dad raised me alone because my mom was tortured by another wizard until she broke.” Hailey’s jaw clenched, “Now she lives in St. Mungo’s like some mindless zombie and I was 3. I didn’t grow up with magic” she growled. Yixing’s glare lessened as his mouth moved like a fish out of water. Chanyeol stood and touched Hailey’s arm, but she swatted it away and took off out of the Great Hall.

Sophia’s head whipped back to Yixing as her bright red hair hung down her back, “I don’t know what your deal is, but cut it out.” Her voice shook, but the coldness remained. “If this is about that night, drop it. You’re about to lose every single one of your friends. I get it, I hurt you. I’m sorry, but I can’t just fall out of love with Minseok and love you.” She sucked in a breath as she tried to calm her anger, “You need to apologize- to everyone. But especially, Hailey. She didn’t deserve that.” She stormed out of the Great Hall with the others close behind while Yixing sat at the table alone.

“Found you” Sophia whispered in Minseok’s ear as she wrapped her arms around his abdominal from behind. He jumped at her voice, his head turned to see her resting her chin on his shoulder blade. “You can be a bit of a pain to track down during the day, I’m glad your nighttime hiding spot doesn’t change.” She pulled back from him and leaned on the rail of the Astrology Tower.

Minseok shrugged, “I had a lot to think about, so I wanted to be alone earlier.”

“And,” she paused, “what about now?”

He reached for her hand and held it in his own. His thumb caressed the back of her hand, “I want to be alone--with you.” His eyes met hers and his hand tightened around hers. “Yixing was right…” He pressed his other hand to her mouth as she was about to respond, “Just listen first.”

“Fuuummm…” She muffled under his palm.

He pulled his hand from her mouth as a smile crept on his, “What Yixing said isn’t wrong. I grew up about magic and learned a couple of incantations before I got to Hogwarts. My mom taught me all that I know, but you didn’t have that nor did he. You probably had things happen around you that you just couldn’t explain and brushed it off.” Sophia’s head tilted to the side as she pointed at her hair with a knowing grin. “Minus the hair, jeez” he chuckled. He moved closer to her as he touched her hair, “I know there are parts of the world that are still new to you, just like parts of the muggle world are still new to me. But I want to show you all the things you haven’t seen.” His fingers twirled strands of her pink hair around, “When I saw you and Yixing together that night, I had all intentions of letting you go and just staying your friend. I thought you two were perfect together as you two had the same type of past, you two understood each other so well. But, after going to that gaudy cafe, which I’m never going to again mind you, I realized that I didn’t want to just hand you over to him.” His finger traced the bottom of her lip, “I care about you. I love you and want to stay by your side. If you want me to at least.”

Sophia stared up at Minseok and smiled softly. She bit her lip as she tried to keep her eyes on his, “You can stay by my side only if you let me show you part of the muggle world you still don’t know.”

Minseok’s smile grew as he leaned towards her, “I would love that.” Sophia met him halfway as their lips came together. Sophia’s hand held his face as his hands wrapped around her waist to draw her in. Sophia tilted her head deepening the kiss as Minseok slipped his tongue into her mouth to seek out her taste.

Professor Longbottom nearly dropped the water can in his hand in surprise as he gave Sophia a bewildered look, “What did you say?”

“I want you to teach me more about herbology. I plan to open my own store where I can sell flowers or make herbal medicine for muggles. While also growing herbs and magical plants for witches and wizards to make potions and medicines.” Sophia grinned, “I was wondering if you could teach me more than what I’d learn in my classes, if that means I have to take extra classes with you I will, but please! Can you teach me?”

Professor Longbottom grinned widely, “I can teach you everything I know! I’m always happy to share my knowledge of plants with you guys. Especially if you want to use it to help others. How can I say no?”

After making arrangements for extra classes, Sophia pranced out of the greenhouse feeling overwhelmed with excitement. Outside the greenhouse, Minseok stood across the way waiting for Sophia. He looked up at her and laughed, “Your hair is super orange. That must mean you have some good news.”

Sophia ran up to him and threw her arms around his neck, “Good news doesn’t even cut it! He said he’d teach me!”

Minseok wrapped his arms tightly around her waist as he spun her around, “You’re a step closer to your dream! I’m so proud of you.”

“It’s all thanks to you, Minseok. Thank you for helping me reimagine my dream! Now I can make people smile and still help out in the magic community. I love you!”

Minseok’s grin widened as he pressed his lips to hers, “I love you more.” He whispered before he kissed her again.

History: Slenderman and some random hooman gal did the frick frack and Random Hooman Gal shot him out her vajay-jay. She of course left Slendy (but why tho? 😭) before Damien was born. When Damien was born, his mom put him in school. Because he didn’t look or age like them and everyone was mean, he was bullied incessantly. Things were no better at home; his mommy was never at home. His only happiness came from his girlfriend, Hailey. But a day after they started dating, Damien caught that cheater SMILING AT the school’s jock, Kyle. They got into an argument and he killed her and burned her body in the incinerator in the school gym closet. Damien decided he liked killing slowly killed off everyone in his school one by one until twelfth grade. He was of course never caught, because he jammed everyone’s mind with static. Once everyone was dead, he killed his mom because REASONS and ran off to find his dad in the forest because yes, he knew where to go. Upon arriving, he met a hot guy with blue goggles and a gas mask who introduced himself as X-Virus and immediately fell desperately in love with Damien. He immediately took the new love of his life to his daddy, who, SURPRISE SURPRISE, was Slenderman! The two immediately recognized each other as father and son, loved each other, and when Slendy dies, Damien (who changed his name to Dark Shadow) will take over the mansion and proxies and his job. Oh, and he and X-Virus got married after two weeks of dating and passion! Sometimes Damien just wants to be normal and sits on the roof at night crying and listening to MCR and thinking about what could have been but then Slendy and Virus-kun remind him of what he has and he immediately snaps out of it.
