3 and 14 for the soft ask game!!
(sorry i’m late </3 oopsies)
Lmaooooooo you asked the same questions as @galaxynajma but I’ll try to give different answers
3- Favorite candle scent : Angel by Mugler. Last year my bff and I went to Naples together and that’s the perfume I wore. He liked it so much that I bought him the candle version for his birthday. It reminds me of happy times so I love it very much
14-Violetta (a Disney channel LA show that was extremely popular in Europe a few years ago)
Funny story: during my first year of HS our Spanish teacher asked us to do presentations about diversity and unity for el 21 de Marzo. Since I wanted a 20/20 I added a song from Violetta at the end of my presentation. The teacher loved it so much that she made the two classes she held sing it in front of the entire school (we had matching t-shirts and shit)
The song is entitled Ser meyor

Tuesday, 24th January 2023 - Harley's prized narration abilities
This kid decided to wake up today, it was a bad idea she should of stayed sleeping cuz this girl didn't have to wait in the cold for like 10 minutes, tbh idk why this kid just walks to school on their own like its not that difficult anyway moving passed the separation anxiety she has about walking to school then she decided to go to a spanish revision thing, which i dont go to set 3 vibes :’)) and she learnt about some tense at the spanish thing while eating biscuits and they better have been bourbons or custard creams or smth cuz otherwise she should have just walked out then and there, anyway she had a boring english lessons which was not a surprise it is her english class (probably dead as hell) and she got a bouncy ball of all things lobbed at her head by her history teacher of all teachers like thats just a weird thing for a history teacher to own like i would expect one of those plastic toy soldiers or a babys first nuke but a boucny ball no anway girly procceded to call the history teacher bad and then he clapped back with a year 7 insult your face is bad, then she hung out with the friendos as she calls us (fucking weird ass name) and i straightened my hair and girly said it looked amazing and i got so many complement from it today im absolutely so happy anyway then i was fucking cold as always then girly procceded to say “WhY DonT YoU JuSt pUt tHeM On mAtTy’S ChEsT tO wArM tHeM uP” and then Reagan came the the rescue and proceed to hit girly on the head with a water bottle 1-0 (Reagan is a girlboss for doing this)and then girly went and did her HiGhEr tEiR pApEr and probably failed cuz girly is dumb (hopefully she failed) and she stole someones (Janek - CM) calculator halfway thru and he wasnt very happy about it so girly was nice and gave it back and then she came back to see us a break which didnt last long cuz she hates us and ran way to her other friends ofc cuz they were on duty in the warmth (Mattson, Alison and Valerie - CM) not in the freezing cold, she then worked on her composition in music (dead subject btw like who takes a subject like music) then girly ate more biscuits and did maths revisions with peter, bella and andrew (i did maths revision my teacher said i mess about in class then don't at the revision so there was no point in me going ) anyway andrew was next to them like fully side-by-side sitting on top of them cuz he's weird like that and idk if he knew that he was basically sitting on top of them but he was helping someone with the answers so girly ofc didn't say anything (probs enjoying it tbh) however boss man is gluten free (idiot man) So he couldn't eat the biscuits and then girly went and bullied harry about his dumb composition with alison and then girly walked home again (should have stayed at school cuz she basically lives there) ~HS
And then I decided to let Harley write today’s blog
Bad idea?
probably. ~CM

High school was worse, but only because we were. A lot (but not all) of us level 3 kids ended up going to this brand new proof-of-concept high school that was like one of the first of its kind in the nation. We went from theoretically stable large schools to an as-yet-untested model where, for most of us (the main exceptions being our handful of homeschool converts) our "graduating" 8th grade classes were larger than the entire high school student body. (when I got my HS diploma there were 37 bodies on that stage, including the service dog in training) We were the same kind of fucked up as before, but now we were also hormonally afflicted micro-adults with growing awareness of our own human agency.
Especially those of us in the first year, we did everything we could to push, test, and break the system. I'm not proud of the fact that my class (not my whole grade, my class) broke 2 biology/environmental science teachers and possibly the Spanish teacher over the course of a single year. I can only imagine that the rules about
- having food in elevators
- what counts as a real hall pass
- playing magic in front of doorways
- playing magic in the middle of hallways
- playing magic on public walkways
- bicycle storage
- PDAs
- the other kind of PDAs (c'mon, don't give me that look - smart phones hadn't been invented yet)
- auditing other classes while you're skipping your own
that got created because of us are still on the books. I'm pretty sure the trespassing one might have accidentally been my fault. A friend of mine got expelled and written into infamy because they were in mutual attraction with an older guy and now we couldn't go into the dorms of the college across the street (At the time we thought it was a bullshit and draconian action. As an adult I now have a slightly better comprehension of legal codes and liability).
But really I guess the most important takeaway from high school I can offer is this: maybe don't date twins. Even if it's not at the same time. Yes, even if they're hot. Yes, even if they're hot redheads.

M I'm curious about your Finnish learning because you're the only person I've ever seen actively learning Finnish and that's super rad to me. Mostly the how? but also the why?
Awww Kiitos anon! thanks for Finding my linguistic endeavors rad, I think most would alternatively call it "questionable time management" xD Both the how and the why are kind of convoluted and A Long Story so buckle in haha (sorry it took me so long to reply, you are about to see why) So for some reason for me, Finnish has always been Around™ one way or another in my life trying to get me to learn it even though none of my direct family are native speakers lol. It started when I was very little, my dad raised us on any Moomin content he could get because he was enamored by them, at some point along the line in late 90s ebay adventuring, he THOUGHT he had found an english dub of the tv show, and ordered a box set, turned out it was a Finnish dub and my dad is illiterate. But as a poor single father he was determined to get his money's worth so he would still put it on for us semi regularly and just gave us this adult trickery speech about how the show was "magic" because we could "make our own story" for it and re-invent episodes infinitely. Anyway, it meant there was a lot of ambient Finnish around the house when i was a kid xD (and i think this may also be why i find the sound of it so pleasant? maybe? like some kinda subconscious nostalgia? lol) Then for a while I was just vibin' i grew out of Moomin age and spent Grade school and HS studying French, Spanish, and to lesser success japanese and icelandic (it should be mentioned I have a bit of a hunger for linguistics if thats not already clear PFFT) when i got to college however, I developed a bit of a crush on an intl student in a few of my classes, and wouldn't you know it we ended up becoming friends and she asked me for tutoring in regards to photoshop, and just so happened to offer to barter Finnish tutoring as payment. And i jumped at it kuz it seemed like it could lead to us dating (it didnt LOL but its all good) She's the person that got me into music and taught me about memes tho hahah after college I stopped again for a bit, and it wasn't until quarantine hit that I decided like many ppl it was time to get back into language learning. Ironically enough I had initially set out to pick ICELANDIC back up and NOT Finnish but around that same time I dug back into an old Finnish textbook because I wanted to write ONE sentence for a joke about the Dallas Stars Finnmaf, and--- Suomalainen kieli just sank its claws into me and didnt let go. So I pivoted LOL as for the HOW, there was obvs the 1:1 tutoring before, but as far as the last few years I did a combination of things: - Drops language app this is a great way to start and i much prefer it to duolingo - https://uusikielemme.fi/ this site is AMAZING for grammar and actual learning info outside vocab - Reddit threads//youtube videos and then honestly, while this is harder to like recommend as an easy "you can too!" after about 3 months of brushing back up on my own, I decided it was time to dedicate to actual classes, and tracked down a teacher to work with me weekly. This is really what made the big difference for me and has been the key to the progress ive made!

ten questions!
i was tagged by the lovely @rylie-studies!! thank you sm for tagging me!! ilysm! sorry this is so late, i’ve been trying to think of good answers to your wonderful questions!
Rules: Answer the questions, then tag ten people with ten other questions of your own.
#1: What are you looking forward to the most in the upcoming school (both high school and university level) year?
for the upcoming school year, i’m most looking forward to my environmental science class and the upcoming volleyball season. our school has needed to move around our schedule so a lot of things that i usually really love won’t be possible (in person scrim practices, hanging out in the spanish teacher’s room, etc.). i am really glad that sports w/ protective measures have been deemed safe enough.
#2: If you could choose to live in any country in the world, which one would it be and why?
ooh this is such a tough one. i’ve always wanted to live abroad and i think i would really love to live in several different places throughout my life, but if i had to pick one, i think i would live in switzerland. my family and i went on an italy-switzerland summer trip a few years ago and while i loved staying in milan, the alpine scenery really called to me.
#3: What’s a book that resonates with you the most and you’ll read it as many times as you possibly can?
i have two answers for this question actually! a book that resonates with me the most is The Traveling Cat Chronicles by Arikawa Hiro. i cried so much while reading it and it really affected me. a book i will read as many times as i can is Howl’s Moving Castle. i can travel to ingary a thousand times and each time i will find something new i hadn’t even noticed. the reason i have two answers is that when i read books that resonate with me, i don’t tend to read them over and over again; i usually prefer to keep those initial feelings i had untouched, especially because i remember plotlines pretty well. the books i read over and over again usually have sentimental value and while they probably won’t win any pulitzer prizes, they mean so much to me.
#4: What do you usually do before you sleep at night?
honestly, i don’t really have much of a routine before sleeping. i try to take melatonin regularly as well as lysine supplements and drink water with both pills. reading is also important to me because it allows me to relax without needing too much light (i have some fairy lights on my headboard that have adjustable intensities!). i always make sure i set my alarm for the next day too!
#5: If you got the chance to converse with your ten year old self, what’s one thing that you would say to them?
you don’t have to have everything figured out yet. take your time and relish being a kid. you’ll figure things out.
#6: If there weren’t any expectations or pressures given to you, what would you want your life to look like in the future? What job will you have? Where will you live?
no expectations and pressures, including my own? that’s the dream baby. as of right now, i think i would buy a little house in the middle of a clearing in the woods and grow a small garden that i’d use to run a little stand at the end of my driveway. for my job, i want to be financially stable and able to leave work at work without being too disinterested in my career. i also have a dog and two cats and a healthy relationship with myself.
#7: What’s a song that seems timeless to you and it always feels like you’re listening to it for the first time every time?
see the day by the altogether, lyrics by brian david gilbert
#8: What’s the first show that you can remember ever binge watching?
the first show i can remember actually committing to binge watching was brooklyn nine nine. i watched five seasons in about three weeks the summer after my freshman year of hs to cope with my boyfriend breaking up with me. that show was such a huge comfort to me at that time and i was so glad to have watched it then.
#9: Did you watch Disney Channel when you were young? If so, what was your favorite show and why? Or, if you didn’t watch Disney Channel, what was your favorite show as a kid?
yeah i did! phineas and ferb was definitely one of my favorites just because each episode would be different, and there was always at least one storyline that was super compelling. i still have the perry the platypus tshirt my dad made me for christmas one year.
#10: Choose a random line from your favorite song of all time/the song that you’re currently obsessed with if you can’t pick one.
“show a little faith, there’s magic in the night” ~ thunder road, bruce springsteen
my questions for those tagged!
What was the first animal you remember being obsessed with as a child? Do you still love them?
Do you prefer writing your notes by hand or typing them out? Why?
What’s a book that everyone loves/is a classic that you didn’t like?
Do you like spicy food?
What’s your relationship with plants? Green thumb or admiring from afar?
Are you addicted to the internet?
Name a movie that is technically really bad, but you love it with all your heart. Why do you like it?
What Pokémon type(s) would you be?
What is something you learned recently that you had no idea about?
Favorite summertime drink?
i tag @mysti @starsandwriting @nuwandastudies @motivatedstingray @blueinkked @meganstudiesss! no pressure of course (it took me three months to do these haha)!

I know that they are not your current muses rn, so feel free to answer this whenever you feel like it, but I would love to hear more about your glee ocs! ❤️
- anotherhystericalqween
Sure! I totally welcome any and all questions about any ocs ( some are very under developed so i don’t always have answers is all My Supernatural ocs) even the ones that aren’t on the main muse list. That’s more like...the ones I’m currently doing the most plotting for/thinking of more.
As for my Glee ocs.
Tumblr media
I have Riley Shuester. She’s Will’s younger sister ( she was born when he was halfway to almost out of HS) She was more or less raised by her  brother and also hated Sue’s coaching so much she quit the Cherios a year after joining. I don’t have much planned for her past she hates it when people ask if she’s Will’s daughter instead of sister because of the age difference and slaps Sam across the face for disregarding Ryder’s abuse in Lights Out ( she doesn’t like hate the kid or anything so much as she’s just “you can’t think like that/react like that. that’s horrible. you have a little brother ffs” and reams him and the other boys out for their reaction but Sam the most because of her expecting better from him)
There are some Messy Circumstances that lead to her having to have been raised by her brother so she has issues specially when it comes to expressing her feelings but she tries her best and I love her.
Tumblr media
I have Natalia Puckerman who is Jake’s twin and took martial arts classes to make sure no one hassled him for taking ballet. She’s super close to her brother ( and becomes close to Puck after meeting him) I also don’t have a lot plotted for her but I do know her main thing in Glee is dancing ( as opposed to singing) and I really wanna focus on what it’s like for both Puck and Jake  ( and of course Natalia) to find out your deadbeat father might have left you something good in a half sibling/add to and explore  the Jake and  Puck dynamic. Her frist words to Puck are “our dad’s an asshole. I fucking hate him.” and Puck....more or less adopts her from then on.
Tumblr media
Marilu Gomez was just me wanting to complain about how  bad the public school system is lol but also wanting someone who could brotp with some of the non horrible so notSue/the creepy coach/the principal teachers in Lima and also a latine character that wasn’t a mean girl stereotype ( same could be said with Natalia tbh) She replaces Will as a spanish teacher and  is mostly just Very Tired of Sue’s dramatics and the lack of funding in the school. She also tries to look out for the minority students specially the ESL ones.
other less developed ideas are a Santana sister ( Cierra Ramirez), a Finn sister ( Sabrina Carpenter) and a drummer for the band ( Sean Berdy) as well as maybe some more band students because I feel like that side of the show is pretty  unexplored and sorta wanna play  there.
Thank you so much for asking! I’m always happy to talk about  them <3

Questions Meme!
Hello, yes, this HAS in fact been sitting in my drafts for ages and ages. Thank you to both @crazy-fruit and @ruby-red-inky-blue for tagging me and for waiting forever for me to answer (oops)! I’m sorry I took so long, but y’all ask really good questions and I had to think about some of them!
Question Set 1
1. How are you?
Oh, I’m doing alright! Thank you for asking. The earlier part of this year was rather rough, but therapy has been helping. I’ve been rather busy these past few weeks with traveling, and my schedule going forward is rather busy, too, so while I’m excited for those things, I’m also excited for the eventual moment I can just relax.
2. What would you say are your talents?
Writing. Making fancy color-coded spreadsheets. I’ve been told that my super power is getting random (annoying) songs stuck in other people’s heads. Does that count as a talent?
3. If you had the chance to start your life again, would you take it?
NOPE. No thanks. I like where I am at right now, and I would not want to relive my awkward years. Er, at least, my more awkward, younger years. Cuz I’m totally still awkward. Just less awkward. I hope?
4. Which language would you like to speak instantly?
HMM. ALL OF THEM. It’s really hard to choose!
Language fascinates me, and in another life I feel like I would have devoted a lot more time to learning more of them. Unfortunately, I really hated German class in high school because of the teacher’s tendency to put people on the spot -- I think that is sort of inherent in a language class, but I get anxiety speaking in public.
Anyways, I suppose I’ll answer Turkish to this question, since spouse and I keep saying we’re going to try to learn Turkish via Duolingo. For the record, my HS offered six languages, which was the most I’ve ever heard of an American school offering, and I was always quite happy with my choice of German. (The others were Spanish, French, Italian, Chinese, and Latin.) I do wish I had maintained my German better, and I that I had more time to learn Spanish.
5. Where would you like to be right now?
Honestly? I’m pretty happy when I’m at home. But if I had to answer where “else” would I like to be right now, out of the whole world? Being back on safari in Botswana is a top contender, as are a variety of places in Turkey, and also Munich.
6. What name would you give yourself?
I’ve always liked my actual name (Elizabeth). I know I go by Liz; one of my HS friends was quite stubborn and I’m a bit stuck with it now, but I don’t mind it. There are worse nicknames that come from Elizabeth. I used to go by Fiona online; I’ve always been fond of that one.
7. What is something you’re currently learning?
OOF, what a good question. I sorta blanked on this at first, and my first thought was uhhhh learning how to cope with my OCD??? I’m doing exposure therapy right now, ish. Emphasis on the ish. Also mindfulness. Does that really even count? I started a beginner’s knitting project several months ago that I never finished, does that count? (I just need to seam it, that’s what I’m putting off. I have knit plenty of scarves; however, this is my first hat.) I’m sort of teaching myself ukulele although I haven’t really learned any new chords or songs in awhile. I would very much like to take more photography classes with a focus on wildlife photography. That involves buying a new camera and... signing up for classes.
Question Set 2
1. What is a detail in a piece of art/a text that you like that you really admire?
This was very difficult, at first because it was like looking at a bin full of loose things and just seeing an assortment of color and being overwhelmed by it all, and then because once I did start digging around, I kept finding different ideas and it was too hard too choose.
Character-building: In the A Song of Ice and Fire series, when Arya starts working for the House of Black and White, Martin stops using the name “Arya” as she dons different identities. For example, he uses “Cat” for a bit, among other names. It shows she’s trying to be someone else, but the caveat is that there are still little mannerisms and such that show she hasn’t really left Arya behind (I think maybe she bites her lip or something? I don’t remember specific examples because it’s been over 5 years since I read these books, but I do remember really appreciating the general technique at the time).
Music: In The Beatles’ “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” I love those repeated arpeggios, over and over, building, intensifying, as the white noise comes in and you can just feel the heaviness of desire, of want... (and then I love how it just breaks so suddenly! And I know it wouldn’t have been intended this way because that’s the end of side one, but since I listen to the whole album on spotify, then those bright chords of “Here Comes the Sun” come in and god Abbey Road is the best Beatles album)
Writing: the poetry of Florence + The Machine’s “All This and Heaven Too,” obviously, since literally the title of my blog comes from that. I’d quote that whole song honestly. There’s something that speaks to me about the incapability of language to fully encompass just... everything. I mean, love in specific here, but also just everything. Words are just these little boats we put meaning on and we hope they make it to the other side but everyone takes ‘em a little differently.
Like, look at this:
And the words are all escaping, and coming back all damaged And I would put them back in poetry if I only knew how
And this:
Words were never so useful So I was screaming out a language that I never knew existed before
Anyways, there’s also something just incredibly soothing about the music, too, and how she sings the song. There’s another line, from Sara Bareilles’ “Miss Simone” that goes “How does she know what a heart sounds like?” which pretty much sums up how I feel about “All This and Heaven Too” (and also many of Sara Bareilles’ song, especially that particular album, but I digress).
Anyways I did have some art examples, but I think I’ve rambled long enough.
2. Is there an idea that you really liked but had to discard because you couldn’t get it to work?
If I really like an idea, I don’t really “discard” it so much as put it on the shelf to attempt later. Out of recent fic ideas, I’ve really struggled with “How to Lose a Spy in 10 Days.” I first thought of this in late spring 2017, and for awhile I couldn’t stop thinking about it, but I was working on Whatever I Do at the time, and wanted to wait before starting another WIP. By the time I got to writing this, the inspiration well had sort of dried up.
I really like the idea of a fun cat-and-mouse rom-com idea where Jyn and Cassian keep outsmarting each other, with a whole lot of competency kink, some “oh shit we actually work well together!” and maybe some battle couple. And I was really looking forward to both the moment when they both finally let their guards down around each other and the big confrontation when they actually find out each other’s identities. But it involved more mission writing than I was prepared for, and I really struggled with it. I think I need to start over but that involves a lot of working, so it’s unfortunately shelved for now, and I’m working on a “You’ve Got Mail” concept instead.
3. Is there something fandom-related you would like to be able to do (i.e. I’d like to be able to make gif sets but can’t)?
Oh, yes, absolutely! Really anything that’s not writing related, lol. Gif sets, art, etc. But most of all, I have a music video idea for the song “So Close” from Enchanted--like I have a whole story board plotted out in a google doc. But I don’t have any video editing software, don’t even know how you get the scenes for a music video, etc. I have made videos before, but not since high school, and I don’t even have the cheap, basic video editing program I used back then. Sometimes I think I should just attempt make a gif set instead, but there are so many lyrics! and scenes that go with the lyrics! that I don’t know how to consolidate it into that format anyways.
4. What is a skill you’ve acquired through fandom work?
Hmm, this was tough. I’m going to say HTML. I’m not up-to-date on webdesign at all, but back in my early fandom days, I ran a few fansites. I still sometimes use HTML while leaving comments or to edit posts on dreamwidth or w/e. It’s super basic, but it has helped me at work at a variety of jobs. I take it for granted that people my age should know basic HTML, but a lot of them don’t, and then a lot of people I work with now are older and definitely not tech savvy.
5. Do you think anyone can learn to create great art, or does it take talent?
Well, I’m going to cheat a little. I do think think that anyone can learn to create great art, but I also think that everyone has a talent at something, and part of learning to create great art is recognizing your skill sets and honing those. If that makes sense? I’ve sort of seen both sides to this. I’ve seen naturally talented people create great things, but I also think that they’re probably cheating themselves if they’re not learning and honing their craft and trying to get better. But I’ve also seen people who started out making things that maybe you wouldn’t call great, but they worked hard over and over again, and looking at their work now, you’d say they were talented without ever knowing the difference. Great art = talent + learning + passion. Did that even answer the question? ...moving on
6. Do you prefer AUs or in-universe? Why?
I prefer to write in-universe, for sure. I find modern AUs more challenging, mostly because--and I feel kinda bad saying this--it’s very difficult for me to tap into Jyn and Cassian’s characters without some kind of tragic background. Their experiences and how they coped with them shape their personalities, and it’s really hard to separate them from those. My WWII was easier because, hey, it’s war, not so different from in-verse. But I initially tried to write Learning Curve in a modern AU and I was just totally bored. Putting it in universe made it more interesting to me, especially having to finagle a happier plot inverse. IDK, it might even be that I generally struggle to make up any conflict in modern AUs that feels interesting.
THAT SAID, lol, I definitely read either. So it’s probably strange for me to be hung up on it because I’ve read nice fluffy modern AUs and found them perfectly engaging.
Tagging: @theputterer, @magalis, @allatariel, @mythologicalmango, @threadsketchier  MY USUAL DISCLAIMER APPLIES: no pressure if you just don’t wanna, AND if anyone sees this and was like “aw hey i wish she’d tagged ME” well guess what, I wish I did too! so go ahead and do it and let me know and then i’ll know to tag you next time, too :-)
Questions:
When you suffer a setback or a series of setbacks when creating (writing, drawing, knitting, any kind of crafty project thing you work on... even work), what are some strategies you use to cope with that stress and move forward?
What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever had to create/make and what did you learn from it?
What part of a bicycle would you be?
What’s a helpful writing (art/crafting/work) technique you’ve learned?
What’s a piece of art that made you see things differently?
You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?
What was the last board game you played and what did you like or not like about it?
*sorry these came out rather writer heavy!

Hi Kath! Thanks for the answer about the twins' last name in tbah! Another question if you don't mind: Moon's highschool is really small, right? (If i'm remembering wrong i'm sorry) Idk anything about American schools but is it realistic that there is a) a Japanese class and b) so many variations of the same subject (as in normal English and hard English at two different times etc) These are the things i think about lol
Hi! I love answering questions so no sweat!
Moon’s high school is really small, it’s mostly based off of the school that I went to. I don’t remember if I specified it in the fic, but the high school has students from the even tinier backcountry villages around Moon, so it’s not just the students from the town proper.
The English thing is definitely not unrealistic - part of the reason that they have normal English and hard English at two different times would be so that the same teacher could teach both classes. All schools that I’ve come across have at least an honor’s English program if not an A.P. program as well.
The Japanese thing is a little more debatable. Most schools that I have experience with have Spanish, French, and something else. Like the school I went to had Spanish, French, and American Sign Language, and I know that Japanese is a language that a lot of American schools have as an option.
There are definitely a few things about Moonview HS that are sort of unrealistic for plot reasons - most notably the sports seasons/sports offered. I try to keep things generally in the realm of plausibility sometimes when I consider whether I want things to be realistic or interesting, interesting wins out.
Thanks for asking! If you have other questions or want to chat about stuff please feel free to shoot me an ask! I love talking about my fics lol.

Unexpected Acquaintances - Peter Parker AU X Fem!reader
Tumblr media
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 4 / Part 5 / Part 6
Summary: Y/n moves to Queens with your mom and you start your first day at Midtown S&T. It just so happens that you have to do a chemistry project with Peter Parker, Midtown’s finest fuckboy.
Authors Note: Someone left the idea to make my hot Peter AU edits into a fic and I honestly couldn’t pass it up! Basically, this fic is going to be an AU where Peter is a major fuckboy and he ends up going after you (reader). P.S.! Peter, reader, and friends are all in their senior year of HS. Apologies if there are a few errors, it was a bit rushed.
Warning: Nothing really, some language.
Word Count: A slow 2k
You were starting the second semester of senior year at a completely new school and a completely new city. You and your mother had just moved to Queens from Colorado following the nasty divorce your parents went through, leaving you to stay with your mother. It was a sensitive topic to talk about, and understandably so, but you vowed to yourself that it wouldn’t get in the way of the final few months of your high school career.
You were starting your first day at Midtown School of Science and Technology, having been accepted a few weeks before you moved to Queens. The idea of a fresh start made your stomach do flips of excitement and nervousness. Although you were looking forward to meeting new people, you had a feeling that this place was going to be completely different than your school in Colorado. Back there, you were considered to be the quiet, nerdy girl, every passing period was spent with earbuds wedged in your ears as you weaved through the crowd of high schoolers.
Something about Midtown made you feel that you were, hopefully, going to fit in. After all, you were just going a high school with a bunch of nerds. At least that’s what your mother told you.
The sound of your beeping alarm clock caused you to groan in irritation, the thought of leaving your warm and cozy bed only causing you to sink deeper into your duvet. Just as you began to drift back off, the voice of your mom woke you back up, “Y/N, it’s your first day and you have to go,” She said softly from your bedroom door.
You groaned but decided to peek above your covers, waving a hand dismissively at her once you told her you were getting up. She stayed at your door only until you sat up in bed, rubbing your tired eyes. You mom closed the door softly, leaving you alone in your dark bedroom, the only thing lighting the place was the glow of your phone as you checked your notifications.
You ran a hand through your y/h/c hair as you got up and padded your way to the bathroom, weaving through your moving boxes on the way out. You brushed your teeth before hopping in the shower and quickly washing off, avoiding your hair since you had just fixed it last night. Last night, you had picked out a cute outfit to wear, an oversized beige sweater and slightly ripped jeans that were paired with ankle high boots.
Once you got dressed you stepped out of your room and into the living and kitchen area of your new apartment. The place was a lot smaller than your previous house in Colorado but you weren’t complaining all that much. It was a mess as of now due to the moving boxes that were scattered around, but you and your mom saw a lot of potential with this humble home.
“I’m going to head out, Y/n,” Your mom said from the front door, shrugging on her heavy winter coat. “Do you know the way there?” She asked, taking her purse and putting it over her shoulder.
You nodded, “Yeah, I think so. If not, there’s always Google Maps,” You said with a small smile. Your mom laughed at your smart comment before quickly saying goodbye and heading out the door.
Once the door closed, you went into the kitchen and began looking through one of the boxes for bowls but much to your demise, you weren’t able to find any.
You cursed under your breath before just settling for a granola bar. Breakfast of champions, right?
Before heading out the door for school, you double checked your way there, making sure you were about to take the subway like a pro. Surprisingly enough you managed to make it to school with only a minor hiccup.
Although you were senior, you had decided to finish off strong when it came to your coursework. You had enough credits to graduate last semester but you wanted to really round off your classes so you could hopefully get accepted into one of the Ivy Leagues. You were hoping to get accepted into either Harvard or UCLA, your eyes set on their biochemistry programs. As a result, you filled your schedule with AP classes, those classes being: AP chemistry, calculus, AP Literature, AP Government, and your fifth year of Spanish.
You shook your head out of your little daydream as Midtown came into view. You looked at the large red brick building, suddenly being hit with the realization that you were a complete stranger. You shook your nerves away before beginning your long walk to the front entrance.
You hadn’t noticed that you were holding your breath until you pushed open the front door, letting yourself finally breathe again. You watched as students walked through the halls before class, everyone walking with someone else or a group, smiling and laughing along with their friends.
You pulled your phone out of your pocket and unlocked it, seeing your schedule pop up since you had set it as your lock screen. Your first class was AP Government with Mrs. Bradshaw, room B120. You had no idea where you were going and that only made you more anxious.
“Fuck,” You cursed quietly under your breath hoping no one would hear you. Much to your demise, you heard a small chuckle from beside you that caused you to quickly look over in that direction.
You were surprised to find a girl standing beside you, clutching her sketchbook to her chest as she slightly leaned over to see your lock screen.
“That’s smart,” She said, giving you a kind smile as she pointed at your phone. Her curly brown hair was pulled into a ponytail, her longs bangs brushed behind her ears. “I’m MJ by the way,” She introduced herself, her smile still playing on her lips.
You were a bit surprised by her very sweet introduction but you weren’t complaining. Could be your next friend, you thought to yourself before returning the smile to MJ and introducing yourself.
“It’s nice to meet you Y/n,” She said before pointing down a hallway. “We have the same first hour so I can show you the way there,” She explained before you nodded and followed her down the busy school hallway.
You and MJ sat in the corner of the history class, both of you getting to know each other. She was kind enough to draw out a little map of the school, circling every class that you had to go to. After she did that, you told her about moving here and such, the two of you almost instantly getting along.
As you walked into your fifth hour, you noticed how fast the day was going, realizing that after chemistry and lunch you were set to go home. Ah, the perks of being a senior.
In your previous classes, you were introduced to the class by the teacher which always caused you to blush while your classmates stared at you. Your chemistry class was different though.
You walked through the doorway and saw everyone standing at the front of the room, chatting with their friends before class started. You glanced around the room in hopes of finding MJ but to no avail. Instead, you found a boy. A very cute boy for that matter.
His chocolate brown hair was styled back casually, almost looking effortless. He was laughing along with his friends, his brown eyes casually looking around the room before he caught your gaze. Fuck.
This mystery boy locked eyes with you before you quickly looked away, catching him give you a small smirk before he also looked away. You felt your cheeks get a bit red because of him but that quickly went away when the teacher came in, greeting her students.
“Glad to see you’ve learned the drill by now,” She said with a small smile before walking past everyone and getting a piece of paper from her desk. “Alright, so we have a new student starting today,” She announced, quickly finding you and walking over to stand next to you.
You were hoping that she’d introduce you to the rest of the class but when she continued to stay quiet you knew you were out of luck, “Oh, um, I’m Y/n. Y/n Y/l/n,” You manage to stutter out, your cheeks immediately becoming hot.
Your teacher smiled before going on about a project that the class was starting soon, “You’ll be able to pick a premade experiment about any of the topics that we talked about last semester. This is going to due in two weeks and you’ll also present it to the class,” She explained, now standing in front of the everyone. “I’ll be assigning partners and you’ll be sitting next to them for the rest of the year,” She said, causing the class to groan in annoyance while she only chuckled a bit before beginning to call names.
She was about halfway through the class when you heard your name be called, “Y/n, you’ll be working with Peter Parker,” She announced, pointing to two empty desks while she glanced down at her paper for the next group.
You glanced around the room as you walked slowly towards the chairs, your eyes scanning for this ‘Peter Parker’. Much to your surprise, the cute boy walked forward, a smirk still playing on his lips.
Just your fucking luck.
“Would you look at that,” He said as he set his backpack down beside the chair before sliding in. “Your first day?” He asked, cocking his head a bit.
You nodded. You immediately knew he was going to be trouble. Either because he was actually trouble or because you knew you’d get distracted working with such a cute guy.
The worst part about it was that you felt like he knew. It looked like he was basically studying you, which only made you squirm because you weren’t used to a guy like him giving you this type of attention.
You shook your head in an attempt to get out of your thoughts, “So, about the project?” You began, glancing down at the piece of paper you were handed by the teacher.
Peter slowly looked down at the paper, leaning in a bit closer to you so he could see the paper, “Do you have any preference?” He asked, his eyes scanning over the list of experiments.
You glanced through as well, reading each one fairly quickly before quickly landing on one you thought was interesting, “What about this one? The effect of pollution on the pH of rainwater?” You asked, looking over at Peter for approval.
He leaned back, running a hand through his wavy hair, “Sounds good to me. Do you want my number so we can keep in touch?” Peter asked, pulling his phone out of his pocket.
“Yeah, sure,” You said, taking his phone once he handed it to you and punching in your name and phone number. Part of you was beyond excited that you got his phone number but the other half was just trying to justify it.
The rest of the class period was just planning out the experiment, working in the details and also setting up dates to meet up and work on it outside of school. By the time you left class you were thrilled that you had met Peter and you were trying desperately to hide the smile that was on your lips.
You easily found your way into the cafeteria, scanning the room in search for MJ since she said she’d sit next to you during lunch. Thankfully, we were able to find her towards the back of the cafeteria, her nose in was looked like a good book.
“MJ!” You called as you made your way over to the table she was sitting at. She looked up a bit surprised to hear her name but her features softened when she saw you, greeting you with a soft smile.
“Hey,” She said sweetly, “How was your day?”
Your small smile quickly turned into a grin when she asked, “Amazing, only because I got a cute boys phone number,” You announced.
Her eyebrows raised up in surprise, “Whos number?” She asked, putting her thumb in her book to mark her place as she closed it.
You looked around to make sure he was nearby and he thankfully wasn’t, “Peter Parker,” You said proudly.
MJs smile quickly went away when you uttered that name, her jaw almost clenching when you said his name, “Stay away from him, okay?”

oops, I have a BNHA OC [self insert]
BNHA AU
Name: Itati Palma age: 15 {normal 1st year HS age} gender: Female sexuality: Cis-gender, Heterosexual quirk: Mid-range Telekinesis and Copy school: UA high class: 1-A, Intelligence Courses (Secret Service section of the school, tho not canon, is a lesser known section of UA with small class sizes)
Likes: Memes, coffee, flowers and scented stationary
Dislikes: Ignorance, Capitalism, authority figures and unseasoned food
Quirk:
What it does: Can levitate self, other object/persons, teleport
flaw/limit:
1) Though no limit to how much they can levitate and move other objects, they HAVE to expose their armpits to activate telekinesis (in other words, T-pose) 2) Can teleport only 2 miles at a time and even then, the location HAS to be a location they’ve visited/passed through before 3) in order to teleport an object/another person, they have to have the object/person against their chest (think of a tight hug)
what it does: copy other quirks
flaw/limit:
1) Can also copy mutations if its in relation of the quirk 2) HAS to touch the person’s face with their hand in order to copy the quirk 3) Can copy someones double quirk but its harder to control 4) Can’t sustain the copy for too long, depending on the quirk and how many, can sustain between 5 mins to 8 hours
About the family:
Neron Palma: Father (metal manipulation) Elde Palma: Mother (Full Range Telekinesis and Erasure) Primavera Palma: Older sister (Rampage and Fire) Joaquin Palma: Little Brother (Elasticity and Flight)    -Double quirks run on the mother’s side, Elemental manipulation runs on the father’s side. Telekinesis runs on both sides. Hispanic family of immigrant parents and older sibling, brother and I are American born. Nobody is a pro-hero BUT quirks are used for their respected occupations. In America, theres no pro-heroes due to unjust and corrupt government, but Batman is a thing (all other comic book heroes are just comics and cartoons).
Combat techniques and preferences:
Though having a double quirk and being potentially powerful, they rely on their quick thinking and environment when in combat. Not really being the type to physically fight, they’re the team strategist and last resort. Even though not choosing to be a hero, they have a signature fighting style thats a mix of lucha libre and MMA fighting. Since they’re in the Intelligence course, they also use a whole range of gadgets like net guns, stun guns, ammo guns, flash grenades and blades to name a few that they keep concealed and carry. Works best in teams but can carry on their own if they need to.
About :
Just a bright and talented American teen when their whole world was rocked by an up and coming gang that attacked the high school she was attending at the time. When she saw her favorite teacher get shot by the gang leader, she stood in front of them and fought him to the death. Even though she managed to disable the leader, he shot her in the abdomen, causing her to bleed out as he escaped. Thinking this was the end of her life, she woke up in a government controlled hospital and was told that they intervened a government case and was given 3 options. To re-locate with their family, stay and die or to join the secret service but leave the country until all gang activity dies out. Though a hard choice on their family, they accept the 3rd option for the safety of their family. They fake her death and she gets quickly sent to Japan to attend UA as a last minute enrollee to the Intelligence program.
School life:
Since she was an international student and tested out of alot of subjects (like english, sciences and 1st year math), she was able to get a specialized class schedule that allowed them to take part of the hero course while taking intelligence courses. So she interacts with the 1-A students for 2 hours out of the school day. Everyone gets along with her and include her as much as possible, even as far as training with them. Since she didn’t bring her family with her to Japan, alot of their ‘adult reliance’ came from Midnight, Present Mic and Eraserhead. She basically only has 2 very close friends that she met in their Intelligence course, Jin and Mimi (more on them in another post). Lived by themselves until the introduction of dorms.
Uniform and Costume:
She wears the uniform like all the other girls but with more personality. Often wears colorful knee-high socks, makeup (to hid eye bags mostly), shoes vary from normal loafers to ugg looking-ass boots. On the pocket of the blazer, they wear their flag pins with pride (all international students were given flag pins to let other students know where they’re from and home culture. Mine were the American flag and Mexican flag). Hair always done differently daily to show off how long, thick and curly it is. At first, they didn’t have PE clothes bc of their rush enrollment, so they had to wear basketball shorts and witty t-shirts to do training. When the measurements were done, her PE clothes were like the UA track suit but with shorts instead of pants and had their last name and American flag on the upper back of the jacket. As for costume, everyone in the intelligence course gets a custom variation of a black jumpsuit with utility belt and holsters. Mine was a jumpsuit with shorts, mesh long sleeves, thigh high compression stockings, steel toe boots and a drop down visor. On the upper thigh of the suit is embroidered Agent number (Im number 19) and two flags (American and Mexican).
Fun details:
Acts like the class cool older sibling even though they’re all the same age. If they didn’t leave America, she would’ve studied to be a musician or writer. Everyone gets intrigued when they speak spanish (often its cursing). Doesn’t like using their copy quirk but the 1-A boys are always actin’ the fool and they catch these hands then get their ass kicked with their own quirk. Often feels homesick and gets depressed over her situation but chooses not to seek help from others (Midnight is often the one to help them out without being asked). Doesn’t sleep much to upkeep with school work but also parties alot with their Intelligence class until the sun rises. To everyone’s surprise, she has a drivers license and drives to school (up until the dorm situation, they just teleport to school and drive when they do shopping). Is an LGBTQA+ ally and will fight anyone who bullies them, even if they don’t know them.
===========================================================
I decided to share my BNHA self insert bc I’ve been having these dreams where I attend UA and live a whole ass life in that universe. These dreams have been continuous for about 4 months now and I REALLY want the 4 season to start so I can stop and dream literally anything else. In the meantime, if you stumbled upon this post and want/need to read something to bide the time until season 4 (or just want to read self insert AUs), Ill be updating often on this AU for anyone’s reading pleasure. Thanks for stopping by today :3 Ill put a link to the next one here! Bye for now!

I don’t know if any of you has ever been curious about the school system of other countries, but I’ve always been wondering “how does it work there?” so, assuming that there are other people like me, I thought that making a post about the school system of my home country would be cool, so here it is !
How does the school system work in Italy?
Basics
every level of education (from pre-school to university) is divided into years, which gather students of the same age
students belonging to the same year are divided into classes composed of 15/30 students and they usually last from the first to the last year of school
classes have nothing to do with subjects
students don’t move from one room to another to follow lessons, the teachers move
all subjects are compulsory, we don’t chose which subjects we want to take (with the excpetion of 2nd languages)
the school year starts in mid September and ends at the beginning of June, we have a winter break of two/three weeks around Christmas time
the school week is 5 or 6 days long, it’s usually 5 days long from pre-school to primary school, and 6 days long in middle school and high school (even though most schools offer a 5 days long week option)
we don’t wear uniforms (unless it’s a private school), but we have to wear this in primary school
the school day usually lasts 5/6 hours if you have a 6 days long week (if you have a five days long week you usually have two or three days that last 8 hours), there are no free hours during a “normal” school day
we don’t really have a sports’ culture in Italy, so there aren’t any school teams, in some high schools there are sports tournaments which are organized by students and are held among teams made of students beloning to the same class
lockers aren’t a thing (or they are a really rare thing)
we have both written and oral tests which are spread during the whole lenght of the school year
marks go from 0 to 10, you have to get more than 6 to pass
in high school it’s possible to fail one or more subjects, to pass the year you have to take an exam of that subject/subjects in September
Levels of Education
1) Pre-School
called Asilo nido or Nido d’infanzia, literally “nest pre-school” or “infancy nest”
non-compulsory
lasts for a maximum of c.a. 3 years
gathers children aged from 3 months to 3 years old
2) Kindergarten
called Scuola dell’infanzia or Scuola materna, literally “infancy school” or “maternal school”
non-compulsory
usually lasts 3 years
divided in three “grades”: piccoli, medi, grandi [small (kids), middle (kids), big (kids)]
gathers children aged from 2.5 to 6 years old
3) Primary school
called Scuola primaria or Scuola elementare, literally “primary school” or “elementary school”
compulsory
lasts 5 years (or more if you fail a year, which is very uncommon in primary school)
gathers students aged from 5/6 to 10/11 years old
the subjects studied are the same for every school (even though the ones of private schools can be slightly different) and they are: Italian, maths, English, mathematics, natural sciences, history, geography, pe, arts, music, and religious studies (non-compulsory)
4) Secondary school
called Scuola superiore di primo grado o Scuola media, literally “lower secondary school” or “middle school”
compulsory
lasts 3 years (or more if you fail a year/multiple years)
gathers students aged from 10/11 to 13/14 years old
the subjects studies are the same for every school (again, there may be some changed in private schools, like the addition of Latin) and they are: Italian, maths, English, second foreign language (either Spanish, French or German), science, technology, arts, history & geography, music, pe, and religious studies (non-compulsory)
at the end of the third year there’s a leaving exam, the subjects tested are: Italian (writing an essay), maths (4 exercises), English (text comprehension), second language (text comprehension), INVALSI (national tests of Italian and maths); you receive a mark between 0 and 10 e lode (10 cum laude), you pass the exam if you get more than 6
by passing the exam a student gets the Licenza Media (middle school license) so that they can attend high school
5) High school
called Scuola superiore (di secondo grado), literally “(upper) secondary school”
lasts 3 or 5 years (or more if you fail a year/multiple years), only a 5 years hs gives you a degree which allows you to go to university, a 3 years hs gives you a license
gathers students aged from 13/14 to 18/19 years (usually), even though students can decide to leave high school at 16 without getting a degree or by getting a license
after middle school students get to chose the kind of high school they want to get in, the kinds of school are accessible to every student as they don’t need a certain mark to get in
all high schools have some common subjects which are: Italian, English, maths, history, science, pe, and religious studies (non-compulsory); every kind of school has its specific additional subjects
high schools are divided in: licei (lyceums), istituti tecnici (technical institutes), and istituti professionali (professional institutes/vocational schools)
some kinds of schools offer different paths, students have to chose the “turn” they want to give to their studies at the beginning of the third year of high school
the kinds of lyceums are: 1. Artistic, with different turns (each turn has its specific additional subjects): figurative arts, architecture, design, multimedia, graphic, scenography  2. Classic, additional subjects are: Latin and Ancient Greek Linguistic, additional subjects are: two foreign languages (in addition to English) 3. Musical & Coreutical, with different turns (each turn has its specific additional subjects): musical, coreutical  4. Scientific, with different turns (each turn has its specific additional subjects): traditional, applied sciences, sports 5. Human Sciences, with different turns (each turn has its specific additional subjects): traditional, social & economic
technical institutes are divided into economic ones and technological ones:  1. economic ones are: A. for Administration, Finance and Marketing [with  turns: traditional, international relations, corporate information systems] B. for Turism 2. technological ones are: A. Mechanics [with turns: mechanics and mechatronics, energy] B. Transport and Logistics [with turns: construction (of the mean of transport), conduction (of the mean of transport), logistics] C. Electronics [with turns: electronics, electrical engeneering, automation] D. Informatics [with turns: informatics, telecomunications] E. Graphics and Comunication F. Chemistry [with turns: chemistry, enviromental biotechnologies, sanitary biotechnologies] G. Textile [with turns: traditional, footwear & fashion] H. Agricoltural [with turns: Productions & transformations, Management of the environment, Viticulture and oenology] I. Constructions [with turns: traditional, geotechnical]
professional institutes are there to “teach you a job”, this is the only kind of schools that allows you to get a license after your third year and leave high school, they are divided into those for services and those for industries and handicrafts:  1. services ones are: A. Social and Health care [with turns: traditional, dental technician, optician] B. Commercial, Food and Hospitality [with turns: cookery, serving and selling, hospitality] 2. industries ones are: 1. Productions [with turns: industry, handicrafts] 2. Maintenance and Technical assistance
To graduate high school you have to pass the Esame di maturità (literally “maturity’s exam”), the exam is composed of four different parts: first part [an essay, in Italian], second part [a test on the “characteristic” subject of the kind of school you attend], third part [a test on different subjects 3/4/5/6 depending on the individual school], fourth part [an oral exam on different subjects, the number depends on the choice of the exam’s committee]
(THE NEW MINISTRY OF EDUCATION IS PLANNING ON CHANGING IT)
The exam is graded with a mark from 0 to 100 cum laude, to pass a student has to get more than 60
6) Higher Education
Higher education is mainly covered by universities, there are some superior grad schools and professional higher schools as well
University is built on the 3+2 system, meaning: a Laurea Triennale (Bachelor’s degree) lasting 3 years + a Laurea Magistrale (Master’s degree) lasting 2 years
After the Master’s degree you can access to Post-MA degrees, Doctorates or Specializing schools
There are some exceptions to the 2+3 system: Law (lasts 5 years), Medicine (lasts 6 years), Pharmacy (lasts 5 years), Dentistry (lasts 5 years), Primary teacher education (lasts 5 years), Architecture (lasts 5 years in some universities), Veterinary medicine (lasts 5 years)
Each university usually offers every kind of course, the only exception are Polytechnic Universities, which only offer Engeenering courses and Architecture
The admission requirements can vary from each course and each university: some have entrance tests, some are “free entrance” and don’t have a limit in the number of students that can enroll, some have a limit and the students who apply first are the one that can enroll
Some courses have national wide entrance tests, the courses are: Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Health Care (nursing, midwifery, physioterapy, etc)
The academic year starts in mid September/early October and ends in late May/early June
Classes usually aren’t cumpolsory and there are no classes on saturdays (unlike what it’s usually like in hs)
Exams are grouped in sessions, during sessions there are no classes, there are 3 main sessions during the year and some extra ones depending on the course/university, the main ones are: January/February, June/July, September
During each session you can take the exams related to the previous semesters, including the exams from the previous years
Marks go from 0 to 30 cum laude, to pass you have to get over 18
There’s no limit of times you can fail an exam, and there usually isn’t a number of exams you have to pass to move to the next year
If you don’t graduate in time you are “fuoricorso” (this is really common especially during the bachelor’s degree)
When you graduate, your finaly mark can go from 0 to 110 cum laude, and it depends on your GPA
