I have recently come to the conclusion that Jerry Jewell is probably my favorite VA I have many MANY but I’d be lying to myself if I said this legend didn’t voice over half of my all time favorite characters ever. Like at this point I would die for all of them favorite characters (I am not gonna confirm or deny that I am now also in this deep with detective conan will just not) but like like look at this like:
Like this is incredible.
And it’s actually true! I’m not saying this cause they are some characters I just like no no these are over half my tops 😭 AND THE TALENT - here we go Dana goes and gushes about dubs again
If I ever meet Jerry Jewell in person (wish one day🥺) one of the first things I’m gonna say to him was how it was a crime to the world that funimation stopped the dub for Kodocha, Detective Conan and Saiki K
Because it was a crime we were robbed of the sheer talent that was the voice of Akito (season 2 Kodocha), JIMMY! and Kaito kid (Detective Conan after only 150 something eps HERE COMES MY TEARS OF DEPRESSION AGAIN) and Saiki K(season 2 and on of Saiki K) A THEFT A CRIME WE WERE LEFT WITH ONLY PARTIAL WAY. 🤧
Another thing THEN Alex says to me (I would tag but I don’t know if Alex wants me to tag if you see this hi Alex 👋🏻😂) anyways
Then Alex says to me. What about Zero? And I’m like well he’s not voiced by Jerry BUT NOW IM LIKE IF I COULD DREAM. NOW THIS IS IN MY HEAD AND ITS RUINING ME🤧
Oh and then I was still going so I said:
Cause I CAN’T BELIEVE THEY DID THIS TO ME I FEEL SO PERSONALLY ATTACKED. TO JUST CUT ME OFF LIKE THIS
But then Audrey says you still have one of the movies #3 that Funnimation still dubbed! And I’m like AHHH THERE IS A GOD but then in the next breath but movie 7 had Jimmy and it’s not dubbed
HELLO DARKNESS YOU JUST CUTTING ME OFF RIGHT BEFORE - I’m fine im fine.
Anyway this is the end of my passionate ramble which I would like to remember myself so here we are.
#dana rambles#wanted to add#like Taichi no I don’t think he would fit.#tomoe no Kazehya no but Zero… idk I feel like it could have been a good take#same for Natsume from Gakuen Alice I feel like he would have done a great Natsume just the Akito and Kyo vibes 👌🏻 would work so well

Oh hey, 21 is the incest episode!
https://wavemotioncannon.com/2017/11/05/mamoru-hosoda-digimon-interview-part-2/
Yeah, I've heard about that interview. And holy hell is it gross.
Not the episode. The episode's fine, honestly? At no point does anything that happens in the episode rise to the level of inappropriate behavior for a sibling who's scared and confused about why her older brother needs to disintegrate from existence.
But holy shit, the way these two disgusting perverts - interviewer and director alike - start Incel Drooling over an eight-year-old child is fucking gross. Like, it's both of them. In a fit of absolute journalistic malpractice, the interviewer is feeding disgusting prompts to the director so he can reply in disgusting ways.
And they lie. Like. Okay. Putting a Keep Reading break because the way these guys talk is so fucking gross but. Like. They don't even describe the events of the episode accurately. And I just. I hate this interview and what it's done to the discourse surrounding these characters.
Like. Throughout the interview, they're saying shit like,
"She’s still young, but she cannot remain indifferent to the fact that her husband just got chatted up by a younger chick. I would imagine her saying stuff like “You may get along in the Digital World, but I’ve been with him for 8 years since I was born.” or “I know everything about you two, don’t think you can hide it from me.” It’s that kind of messed up relationship."
Throughout the episode, Hikari is NEVER anything but welcoming and friendly with Koromon. He's suggesting about a hostility that never exists in any of their scenes together. At one point, he describes the watermelon scene as:
"That pretty much is a conversation about the husband between his wife and his mistress, like “Please leave him. You can eat that watermelon all you want but please give me my husband back.”
That. Doesn't. Happen. Like, the sentiment he's describing does not exist. What Hikari says to Koromon is, "You and Taichi should stay here and not go back."
At no point in the episode does Hikari ever try to drive a wedge between Taichi and Koromon. She accepts Koromon immediately and without question. She had a Koromon of her own once; She gets it.
All the while the interviewer's saying shit like,
When you look at her eyes at that moment, you know she means something…
INAPPROPRIATE FUCKING QUESTION, DUDE. SHE'S EIGHT. I wish you got fired for this.
These two guys are just sitting there lying about what happened in the episode because they're both getting off on it and amping each other up. It's so fucking disgusting.
Thankfully, this is the only episode of the anime this dude ever directed. He did the original OVA and Our War Game, but only this one episode of the anime. They never let him near Hikari again. Can't imagine why.
#digimon#cw incest#cw gross men saying the grossest shit imagine#cw go fuck yourself mamoru hosoda#ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew

ok so it seems we have some jealousy vibes coming next week so for now im gonna enjoy all the happiness and butterflies from this ep bc omg was it the best.
this ep didn’t really have a lot of turning points, it was more a chance to see our boys happy which i am more than grateful for. i haven’t spoke about it yet, but this shows pacing is impeccable and this is just another point to show it. so many shows start off slow and then ramp up the drama to the finale, or a few shows have a kind of midpoint climax before the big climax at the end. this show falls more into the latter, although i don’t know what will be the big final obstacle we need to overcome before the finale, but anyway, what i want to say is that even when shows have a midpoint climax, they don’t often take the space to breathe before moving on. this show did. after the tension that had been built up and released over the previous two weeks, it took a whole ep to just let our boys be. that’s not to say there wasn’t progress or the ep was pointless, far from it, bc as any good anime would know, all good beach episodes happen for a reason. the reason here is for kohei to experience happiness beyond taichi and know that he can fit into a group of friends, and for taichi, my god was it an episode of longing. i don’t think even he knows it yet, but this boy was longing bad. which is important for the story bc this marks the first ep that we really feel taichi considering kohei in a romantic way, again, even if he can’t comprehend that himself yet. his big puppy eyes were out to play and the amount of just looks we got from the two this ep had me squealing, both that and the way taichi constantly lit up around kohei and sought him out to make sure he was ok and enjoying himself, bc taichi gets so much joy out of seeing kohei happy, and not just around him but in a group setting too. you really get a sense that taichi just so wants the best for kohei (which makes me scared for next ep when he thinks he’s better with someone else).
and i just wanna shout out that scene with them at night, with kohei teaching taichi sign language. first, the show does such a good job at telling us things indirectly that say so much about a character. here, all the stuff kohei is teaching taichi about how to say hamburgers and delicious and im full, you can tell that kohei has gone out of his way in his lessons to learn these things bc of taichi, bc he can use them with taichi and share them with him, it shows that he’s thinking of him even in the scenes we don’t see. and then he teaches taichi his name, and idk why this got to me so much, it just seems so personal to learn and share, to give someone their name in a a different language, and when taichi cutely gets it wrong and kohei corrects him, with their hands physically touching, you can see how much it gets to kohei, how flustered he gets by it all, and then he goes in with the big line, and taichi is speechless. kohei thinks it’s a bad kind of speechless bc he later says he won’t do it again, but my god are you wrong kohei, this is the best kind of speechless. there’s just something doubly amazing to the revelations taichi is having at the moment, bc there’s everything to do with realising he likes kohei romantically and everything that comes with, but often what’s talked about less but I equally love seeing a character realise is just how much someone likes them, especially when it’s something new, and regardless of whether you’ve been liked before, it feels different somehow, bc you like that person, and want them to like you, so you get those butterflies when they say something like that, something flirty, bc wow, they like you, and you like that they like you. and taichi is so good and expressing that kind of feelings just through those puppy dog eyes bc it’s so good to see someone who’s always cheerful and active and talkative have the rug pulled from under them and be rendered speechless. it’s why i don’t mind that they’re taking their time with taichi, i kind of love it, bc you get to see all these different realisations he’s having, and it makes you understand why it’s not just as simple as realising you like someone and expressing it, it’s all these other things that you’re experiencing for the first time and have to come to understand, and that’s all before you even think about when or how to express it, and mustering up the bravery to do so. everything was so simple for taichi before, so much still is, but this is something complex and you can see his gears turning trying to understand himself and it’s just so amazing to watch. it’s also why im not mad that, after being such a theme especially in the last ep, taichi didn’t repeat himself when they were going to bed when kohei misheard him. it’s understandable both bc taichi doesn’t yet have the bravery to express himself, but also bc it feels like kohei has already resigned himself to the fact that taichi doesn’t like him like that, or it’s easy for him to believe that, and so he doesn’t want to hear what he thinks taichi is saying, which he would think is him affirming that he doesn’t want to be kissed, so he doesnt ask for it to be repeat. oh kohei you could not be further from the truth. but you’ll find out, soon enough.
#this is gonna be the comfort ep i hold onto when things inevitably go to shit#my ep 6 trip i love you so#i hear the sunspot#hidamari ga kikoeru

A3! Nanao Taichi - Translation [SR] Purple Fiancée (1/2)
*Please read disclaimer on blog; default name set as Izumi
---
Taichi: I’m playing the role of Olivia the fiancée, huh?
Izumi: There hasn’t been a female role in Autumn troupe’s plays since Stranger.
Banri: You’re talkin’ about Zero who Taichi played, right? That sure brings back memories.
Taichi: I was way too conscious of the fact I was playing a girl when I first played Zero during our rehearsals… Ban-chan and Sakyo-nii totally laughed at me~.
Banri: I mean, it was legit awful at first. We thought you were doin’ that on purpose to make us laugh.
Izumi: Right, right, that happened.
Taichi: I was seriously trying the best I could to act like a girl back then… Ah, that reminds me. So, I was thinking about discussing something with you, Director-sensei…
Izumi: Hm? What is it?
Taichi: Unlike Zero, Olivia is a mature and sexy woman. I wasn’t sure how I should act or prepare for my role.
Banri: Ah, that’s a good point. Taichi might use the same terrible tone he tried when he played Zero.
Taichi: That’s why I was wondering if I could get some advice from you, Director-sensei.
Izumi: A mature, sexy woman… Well, I don’t think I’m that type of woman, so I doubt I can give any good advice… But when I watch movies and dramas, I feel like those women have a certain luster to their skin, hair, voice, and way the they talk.
Taichi: I see. A luster… writing this down…
Izumi: Another impression of a mature and sexy person would be… Cool and collected?
Banri: Someone who carries themselves well to boot.
Taichi: I also imagine them wearing heels!
Izumi: And someone who’s confident in themselves, I guess?
Taichi: Ah, I know what you mean~! You mean nothing phases them, right? Hm, hm. Alrighty, I’ll choose something that fits Olivia from all the impressions you just gave me… I’ll watch out for that in my daily life and try my best!
Izumi: Great. I wish there was someone mature and sexy close to you who you could use as a role model… …Ah. Speaking of which, there might be someone!
Taichi: Huh?
Izumi: Azuma fits the description of sexy and mature, doesn’t he?
Taichi: Ah! Yeah, you’re right!
Banri: I feel like he’s a bit different from Olivia, but you can try askin’ him.
Taichi: Alright, I’ll get some tips from Azuma-san!
Option 1: “I’m curious too”
Izumi: Advice from Azuma-san… I’m curious too.
Taichi: You are, Director-sensei?
Izumi: I mentioned it earlier, but I don’t think I’m that type of person… I wonder how I could become someone mature, beautiful, and attractive like Azuma-san…
Taichi: I get it! You can’t help but admire that kinda vibe~! But even if you’re not that type, I think you’re super charming in your own way, Director-sensei. You have both cool and a cute sides. You’re the best!
Izumi: Eh! T-thank you…! I feel happy, but also kind of embarrassed…
Taichi: Hehe…!
Option 2: “I’m looking forward how you play Olivia”
Izumi: I’m looking forward to how you play Olivia.
Banri: Same here. All the more since we know how terrible his act was back then.
Taichi: I’ve grown a lot since I played Zero. Just watch, I'm gonna shock you two and the audience by showing that I can play a female role with a brand new vibe!
Izumi: You said it! Your acting range is getting wider and wider, Taichi-kun. I have high expectations.
Banri: Let’s see what you’ve got.
Taichi: Okie dokie. I’m gonna head over to Azuma-san right now.
Banri: See ya.

The Digimon Adventure kids playing Stardew Valley!
I was chatting with @digitalworldbound some time ago, and we somehow brought up Jun being a fangirl for Elliott. After that, we came up with many headcanons about the Chosen Children being into Stardew Valley that I doodled some of them!! Below the read more are the headcanons we thought of!
This isn't exactly related to Stardew, but Chloe was brilliant and thought Jun would go for a wolf cut in college, which I think fits well!!
Jun loves Elliott and aspires to be him. Also, she has yellow and purple joycons along with knock off pastel joycons.
Hikari would adore Stardew Valley and the animals!! She loves all the girls but she is definitely a Leah stan.
She doesn’t like how lonely Abigail is :(
Taichi only started to play because Hikari adores the game so much. He isn’t far in but so far he likes Alex the most.
He loves mining and murdering slime
Yamato plays it on his downtime for the story and make his farm successful and make grandpa proud
He likes his chickens and gives them cute names :)
Yamato, seeing Sam: “he just like me fr 🥺”
He kinda comes off as a Caroline fan ngl
Jyou's a big fan of Harvey of course. He physically nods his head in agreement whenever Harvey gives advice to the player.
Yamato, Jyou, Ken, and Iori have their own, secret world together to do Simple and Calm things.
Koushiro is obsessed with demetrius and his experiments. He lowkey wishes he was marriageable.
Ken gives everyone gifts to make them happy because he’s a sweet guy (it also makes him poor).
Ken memorizes every characters birthday so he can get extra hearts
He dislikes the game not allowing him to give more than two gifts a week :(
Iori is just there to Farm ™️
Jun and Miyako's sisters have a world together and Miyako pops in every now and then
They fight over who’s the favorite of the bachelorettes because they’re silly
Miyako is there to fall in LOVE and has one save file for each bachelorette/bachelor
Although her favorites are Elliott, Alex, Haley and sometimes Emily (bi queen)
She’s also tried mods which allow her to marry other characters
Sora constantly accepts and finishes quests to help people in the game.
She befriended krobus in the sewers and is bffs with Linus
She also loves her horse very much horse girl Sora
Takeru owns all the hats and is obsessed with the hat store obviously.
He dresses up his kids with the hats so they all match.
Mimi loves the outfits !! Her and Sora have their own farm where they just decorate like the sims
They also name the animals after their friends
“I think taichi should be a duck >:)” “Mimi no-”
You bet they have a bunny named “hikari”
Unlike Miyako, Daisuke ignores most of the people and focuses on mining and making cash
Also the arcade games!!! He loves the cowboy minigame
Miyako and Takeru make fun of his farm because they think it’s pathetic (it’s actually decent but don’t tell Daisuke they think that)
If you have more headcanons, feel free to add on!!

I like you in a skirt - Taiora drabble
For @taioraweek 2023 Day 2
[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]
A/N: Here’s a drabble of a concept that has been sitting in my WIPs for what feels like ages. I’m exaggerating obviously, but it’s an idea that has stuck and now’s finally the time to give it a stage. Non-established Taiora, taking place in my "About all the times" universe [x][x].
Loosely ‘based’ on this fanart of Sora holding her school uniform skirt (and looking absolutely disgusted by it).
Summary: Middle school is approaching which means: school uniforms for both Taichi and Sora. Taichi has a hard time imagining Sora -the tomboy- in a skirt, but when he actually sees her...
Day 2: School days | Characters: Taichi Yagami (POV), Sora Takenouchi, Koushiro Izumi | Genre: Friendship | Rating: K | Wordcount: 732
“A skirt…”
“Don’t tell me you aren’t aware of the fact that girls do indeed have to wear skirts in middle and high school, Taichi-san.”
“Yeah, I’m aware. It’s just… I don’t think I can imagine her in a skirt.”
Taichi stared at the closed curtains of the fitting room their female friend was currently in. He had to admit that to some extent, he had liked the idea of seeing girls wearing skirts on a daily base soon. But after seeing the horror in her eyes, holding up the to her hideous thing, he was a tad more careful with what he liked.
He repeated her words in his mind like a broken record playing.
“I do not want to wear a skirt.”
The image of her holding up the thing between only her thumbs and index fingers, the other six fingers keeping a distance to the fabric as if it was the filthiest thing she had ever seen and held, remained stuck with those repeating words.
Sorry was what he felt for her. In fact, Taichi was so sorry he had been trying to come up with what he thought were solutions. To make her laugh, like he always tried. He should’ve known though he would never succeed, like he had not done yet.
“Maybe you can ask to wear trousers instead?”
“And being the only girl wearing trousers? No.”
“Or you could wear the trousers over the skirt.”
“That still makes me the only girl wearing trousers. It’s also one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard. So no.”
“Okay, theeeeen… the only option left is burning it and go to school in your underpants!”
“Ugh, I can’t with you!”
He would only make her more mad and annoyed with him.
Koushiro had looked at him like he had seen him looking at him a thousand times, scolding him for being stupid with only his eyes, shaking head and sighs.
In a way, however, Taichi had succeeded. Simply because giving her those rather crazy options made her step into the fitting room and close the curtains shut behind her. And she had not entered it solely to be rid of him, but probably to try the skirt on anyway.
She was stubborn like that and when it came to Taichi, she needed to prove her right of the skirt being awful. Little did she know he was never going to give her that right, even when he had a hard time imagining her wearing one.
She had been in his soccer team for as long as he could remember, always playing alongside the boys. Besides, she wasn’t just playing games as she was one of the few players who could actually score a goal. People would always describe her as the tomboy, the girl who was wearing the pants in every sense and meaning. But she wasn’t as tough as she looked most of the time, under that hard exterior hidden a gentle and caring young woman.
Taichi recalled the times in the Digital World where she had a hard time accepting her Crest. In the end, there was nothing to accept, all she needed was the strength to look at herself in the mirror and see the girl she already but unknowingly was.
The skirt contained the same symbolism. It was the one thing she needed to finally see what feminine potential she was hiding inside.
And underneath those jeans she was always wearing.
He watched the curtain slowly open, revealing his friend dressed in the green colored school uniform. His eyes boldly scanned her from top to bottom, stopping at her skirt for a bit longer, his eyes unable to deny the long legs it was exposing.
A blush started to form on his cheeks.
“What do you guys think?” She asked sounding a bit insecure, her comfortable level low, but not as low and annoyed as it was before.
“I think it suits you better than how you pictured it, Sora-san,” Koushiro answered politely with a warm smile. It made Sora smile back shyly.
“I—erm…” Taichi started, trying to find the right words to say. Pity he could only come up with more stupid-sounding ones.
“I like you in a skirt.”
“Baka,” Sora said, unable to hide the red shade quickly appearing, fumbling with the skirt she was wearing like your typical shy school girl.

Day 3: Habits and change
Super late for todays entry, but it’s been a day tbh.
I went through some drafts of mine and just picked something I thought might fit the prompt! I’m so sorry if it sounds rough :,)
So this is based off that one drama CD where Koushiro wrote a love letter and everyone was trying to figure out who it was for. I know at the end he did name someone, but it was bleeped. So for the purpose of this oneshot, pretend he never named anyone. I do nooot like this, maybe I’ll go back and do a re-entry for this day after the week is over…
“So, your love letter.” Taichi began.
Koushiro shrank in on himself. Again with this? Why was it so important?
“Taichi-san can’t we just drop—“
“I won’t tell anyone! We’re alone now right..? You can trust me, I just want to know!” He begged.
Koushiro kept his back to the boy but stopped typing as he considered.
Why did he want to know so bad!? Normally if Koushiro wanted Taichi to stop poking his nose in his business, all he had to do was say so.
But that wasn’t working this time.
Cmon, if..if it’s Hikari I won’t actually mind. I was just saying that, y’know? Or Mimi or Sora too! But Sora’s into Yamato, so I don’t think that would work–“
“That hypothesis of yours is very heteronormative, Taichi-San.”
Taichi looked up at the boy curiously. He’d never heard that word before.
“Heteronorma-what?”
Koushiro spun around in his chair.
“Heteronormative. Denoting or relating to a world view that promotes heterosexuality as the normal or preferred sexual orientation.” he spoke slowly.
Taichi tilted his head and frowned. He still didn’t understand.
“But how is what I’m saying ‘heteronormative’?”
“You’re limiting your guesses to the girls.”
“Well of course I—“
Then the brunette paused as Koushiro turned his attention back to his computer.
The gears slowly began to turn in his head as he considered what his friend just said.
The room stayed quiet for what felt like a long while.
Was Koushiro saying he liked boys? Was that why he didn’t want to tell them?
“Koushiro, I didn’t know you were into guys.”
He heard the boy sigh.
“I’m into both. But the love letter you’re so insistent about is in fact, addressed to another boy.”
Taichi smiled widley. This was progress! Before, Koushiro refused to give them any hint as to who it was, but now they were getting somewhere.

MIMATO WEEK 2023 (Random Update)
Note: I haven't been able to write on time as much as I wanted to, maybe by tomorrow I will post my Day 5,6,7 entries but until then I wanted to share something, so here is a prompt I got a year ago that was just sitting in my drafts for no reason! Enjoy 💙💚
Prompt: "Your heart is beating too fast to be close to someone you don't care about."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~ Listen to my Heartbeat ~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Digital World throwing them off track without a warning was something that didn’t make Mimi bat an eyelid anymore, and she was pretty much used to the ground beneath them slipping away in a flash, taking away with it any progress the group had made so far. So of course, she was unamused with the current situation, which was her being stuck in a cave with what looked like a light drizzle falling outside. The funny thing was, that while she couldn’t remember the last time she’d seen rain in the Digital World, what she could remember was that she had never been stuck alone with the blond standing tall at the entrance of the cave.
Yamato had his back to her, as he peered outside, and though Mimi couldn’t see his face from where she was sitting, she knew it was probably scrunched up in a frown as he inspected the raindrops that settled on his hand. She half turned to pass a comment to Palmon and was bitterly reminded once again, that the only occupants of the cave were her and Yamato, and that the whereabouts of their partner Digimon and the rest of their friends were currently unknown to them. She definitely felt anxious, sitting there without Palmon to keep her company or spring into action to protect her if required, and wondered if Yamato too felt a similar unease, though would he answer honestly if she were to raise this question out loud?
Her eyes wandered over to Yamato again, and she was a little taken aback, maybe even slightly jealous of how much the scene suited him. With his pale, yellow hair shining in contrast to the dim, rocky walls of the cave and his lean figure just rightly fitting in the narrow crevice, nonchalantly bathing in the faint rays of light that escaped through the cloudy sky and surrounded him, he looked nothing less than a muse artists would stroke carefully onto their canvases or poets would write sonnets about. She held back a sigh, it was as if the colour blue, or rather the emotion blue, was meant to be embodied by him, and to Mimi that was a feat worthy of being envious over.
“What should we do?” She decided to speak up, as sitting around and admiring Yamato’s perfect features was something that she could do from anywhere, getting out of here and reuniting with Palmon took priority for now.
Yamato turned, and as expected, with a frown on his face he fixed his eyes on her, and she noticed a hint of surprise reflected in them, as if he had not expected her to follow his lead.
Which was something Mimi couldn’t deny either, she was more of a ‘my way or high way’ kind of girl, but when it came to things related to the Digital World, all of them had adjusted to a pattern that was hard to shake off. If something goes wrong, look to Taichi, and if Taichi is not around, turn to Yamato. It was simple and easy to remember, and pretty much the mantra that had managed to keep them all in one piece during their many escapades, even though lately they hadn’t had much of a success with it since both Taichi and Yamato were butting heads so frequently. Mimi was liking this new side of Yamato however, it was different from what she remembered of him from their childhood, and his recent tenacity was something she could relate to and even found herself drawn towards.
“I don’t think we should move about carelessly.”
She raised her eyebrows, well that was unexpected, and even a little bit disappointing. She could’ve expected that kind of statement from Jou or Koushiro, but given the recent circumstances, Mimi assumed that the blond would be ready to go all out at any given moment. She stood up, dusting off the dirt from her skirt, she wasn’t going to sit around and wait to be found.
“Suit yourself, I’m going to go look for Palmon and the others.”
Mimi moved to make her way out of the cave, but Yamato raised his arm, blocking the entrance as he shot her a glare, “I’m worried about Gabumon and Takeru too, but you saw what happened, do you really think it’s a good idea to go out there without our Digimon partners?”
He was referring to the attack that had broken the group from their brief moment of slumber and had unexpectedly split them up. A shiver ran down Mimi’s arms as she remembered the daunting size of the Digimon that had attacked them out of nowhere, and internally she couldn’t help but agree with what her senior was saying. It was not a good idea to move around carelessly, but it was an idea and that’s what she needed right now instead of sitting still and waiting for someone to come calling.
“I’m not saying you’re wrong,” Mimi began, raising her eyes to meet his frowning gaze, “but maybe that’s what the others are thinking too, so how will we find each other if no one makes a move? We didn’t come to the Digital World to sit around and wait for help to find us, at least I know I didn’t.”
She knew she had hit a nerve and she did feel a bit guilty about it, ever since the whole thing with Meicoomon had begun the one who had been advocating for action the most had been Yamato, so for her to suddenly chide him about sitting tight was a low blow on her account. But she couldn’t help it, Mimi could feel the restlessness racing through her veins for every minute they spent together inside the cave. She had never spent so much time alone with him at such close proximity and the new feelings that were being stirred up in her heart when she looked at him, broad shoulders firm with determination as he refused to lower his arm and allow her to pass through, were completely unfamiliar to her.
“So you would gladly leave me behind?”
His voice was just a tone above a whisper but it was almost as if it rang through the cave like a loud, blaring alarm. It takes two to tango, is what his captivatingly blue eyes were saying as they fiercely peered into her own, if Mimi wasn’t afraid to cut corners then neither was he, which made it all the more difficult for her to look away and actually respond to his question. Not that coming up with an answer to his question would be easy, the way he was staring at her made it seem like he could look directly into her soul and would be able to sniff out any lies.
But Mimi had managed to dye her hair pink without her parents finding out until she walked out of her room with her hair bouncing about like a cart of cotton candy had exploded on it. She could handle one blond tundra.
“Gladly,” Mimi said, her voice slightly quivering, but still managed to resound firmly around them. She took a step forward, hoping that the threat of proximity would make Yamato lower his arm and give her the space to make her exit, but instead, he just tightened his grip on the rocky wall, muscles taut around his arms as he continued to stare her down, challenging her to come even closer.
She swallowed a gulp, he was the last person she expected to raise the stakes in a situation like this, what she had expected was that he’d get embarrassed and she’d take that opportunity to take the upper hand and make her escape. However, in the moment it was Mimi who felt embarrassed as she realised that if she raised her fingers just a little bit, she might be able to trace the shape of the tense muscles that clung to the white fabric of the shirt, and as crazy as it sounded to her, that’s all she could think about as they stood close facing each other down with such a fiery determination for perhaps the first time since they had met on the bus to summer camp all those years ago.
Why Yamato had decided to meet her challenge was still something she was unsure of, under normal circumstances he might’ve silently glared daggers at her and focused his attention elsewhere, that’s how he usually fought with people who weren’t Taichi, but then again Mimi and he had rarely ever disagreed on anything before, so there was no way for her to know how he would push back in an argument against her. She wished somewhere deep down, that if this was how things were going to go down, then she had been better off not knowing at all.
Mimi squeezed her eyes shut and tried to get the image of the blond looming over her in all his handsomeness out of her mind, what was important right now was winning this game so she could put some distance between the two of them and never have to deal with all these feelings stirring up inside her ever again. All she needed were a couple of words that would do the trick, they didn’t even need to sting per se but just surprise him enough for her to get a shot at creating an opening in the barrier that he had put up, metaphorically and physically both.
“I’m not intimidated by you.” She began, raising her voice by a pitch that made him wince as he looked over at her with humorous doubt, “In fact, I’m rarely intimidated by people I don’t care much about. And you’re one of them.” Mimi folded her arms across her chest and met his eyes with equal vigour, letting him know through her posture that she too was firm in her decisions and he wouldn’t be able to change her mind with a few lousy tactics. Lying wasn’t something she was particularly good at but the tension in the air gave her the strength to step out of her comfort zone and make a bold statement that would surely hit all the right notes and make Yamato angry enough to lose his cool.
But lately, he had been full of surprises and Mimi should've known better.
Just for a moment, she saw anger flash across Yamato's eyes before he covered it up with an expression she did not recognize. The corner of his mouth curved into a ruthless smirk as without a warning he lowered his head to level with her face, the tip of their noses now only centimetres apart. His warm breath brushed past her chin, which considering the chilliness surrounding them would have been a welcome feeling if Mimi’s whole body hadn’t frozen at the sudden lack of distance between the two of them. She wanted to lift her hands and push them against his toned chest so he would be forced to take a few steps back, she wanted to turn on her heels and stalk back into the inner depths of the cave so the cold air could help douse the fiery excitement that was now rushing through her veins.
But her hands and her feet refused to listen to her demands and stayed put, she felt a hot, burning sensation take over her cheeks as Yamato’s gaze dropped to her lips for just a brief moment, before his eyes met hers again, shining with an emotion she couldn’t find the right words to describe with. Mimi could feel her heart thumping rapidly against her chest, its hammering drowned out the faint pitter-patter of the rain outside in her ears, and she meekly prayed that the loud sound couldn’t reach Yamato because the air of confidence she had put on would crumble the minute he knew how nervous being this close to him made her feel.
Her prayers went unheard of course as the smirk on Yamato’s widened with amusement.
“Are you sure about that, princess? Because your heart is beating too fast to be close to someone you don’t care about.”
A soft whimper escaped her lips, and Mimi was ashamed of her reaction but her voice seemed to have gotten lost somewhere deep inside her throat. It was almost unbelievable that she was losing a battle of stubbornness against Yamato of all people, so all Mimi could do was blame the change in her attitude on the stupidly cold cave that made her long for the warmth of excitement that came with being the absolute centre of Yamato’s attention. She also blamed the Digimon that appeared out of nowhere and separated their little group in such an odd manner. Because she was sure that if a few more of their friends and their Digimon partners were around, this disagreement of theirs would have ended with both of them huffing and puffing and turning away from each other, not with their faces hovering so close that a single a push or a trip of her feet could send her lips crashing onto his-
“Yamato san, Yamato san, can you hear me?”
The two teens immediately pulled back at the sound of their friend’s voice. Mimi took a few steps back into the cave, her hands pressed to her cheek as she tried to hide the redness across her face. While Yamato ended up stepping out of the cave and into the rain, his pale cheeks however, betrayed no hint of embarrassment, only his chest fell and rose irregularly as he took a few deep breaths.
“Yamato san, can you hear me?”
The two turned their attention to the source of the voice, Yamato's digivice which was attached to his pant’s belt loop. Frowning, the blond removed it from his pants and raised it towards his mouth, responding in a hesitant tone.
“Koushiro?”
“Yes! I’m glad I was able to connect with you too. I’ve gotten hold of everyone else, well except Mimi san but I was planning to reach out to her next.”
The digivice being used as a walkie-talkie was something new to both of them, but if someone was capable of figuring that out it was Koushiro. Yamato lowered the digivice, holding it between the two of them so Mimi could lean in closer and listen better too.
“Mimi’s with me.”
It was a simple statement, a factual one in fact, but the words made Mimi’s stomach churn unbearably. She wanted to slap herself across the face just to get out of this stupor she seemed to be under, Yamato and she had never been anything more than casual friends, and she should know better than to dream of something more.
“I see...That’s...uh that’s good to hear.”
Koushiro’s voice seemed more timid than earlier, as if he was not happy to hear about how the two of them had ended up together. Yamato too must have noticed the change in their friend’s voice as he scowled at the device in his hand, possibly annoyed that Koushiro would take a dire situation like this and make it about his feelings for the brunette.
“What do we need to do next?” Yamato cut right to the chase, the urgency in his voice made it seem like he wanted to put an end to the whole dilemma of being stuck alone with Mimi as soon as possible and that finally made the jumbled-up feelings inside of her calm down for a minute.
“Let me explain the rendezvous location to you…”
Mimi tuned out the conversation, knowing that Yamato would guide her in the right direction, she took that time to collect herself instead. By the time they left the cave and followed Koushiro’s directions to where they would meet up with their friends, the surge of emotions she’d felt by simply being around Yamato alone began to simmer down. The two walked in silence, with Mimi trailing slightly behind. She was dragging her feet across the ground so slowly, which came as a surprise to Yamato and he would often turn to check if she was still around. He must have thought her behaviour odd, considering how aggressively Mimi had wanted to get out of the cave to go look for Palmon a while ago.
But now, she knew that the minute the two would reunite with their friends the problems surrounding the Digital World would take centre stage in both their minds. Until the battle was over the two would probably never get the chance to think about what had almost happened between them in the cave. What Mimi feared the most, however, was that both of them would eventually forget the heated moment they had shared and never again make an attempt to get close to each other.
Which is why she walked slowly, to keep the memory of Yamato’s mesmerising blue eyes staring at her lips fresh in her mind for as long as she could. Deep down she hoped that Yamato would do the same, because maybe, just maybe if both of them held onto the memory of their tryst tightly, it wouldn’t wither out as a dream and remain rooted in their minds as something real for years to come.

'When Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s romantic ballad “The Power of Love” plays and the scene fades to the twinkling night sky, director Andrew Haigh leaves you with profound emotional emptiness.
Pinpointing that precise emotion is a challenge. With dialogue inspired by the saddest parts of your childhood, did All of Us Strangers evoke devastation? Once you made it through the film’s vivid depictions of grief, did you walk away with a stronger understanding of love? Or did you come away with the terrifying realization that loneliness can plague us all?
In All of Us Strangers, loosely based on Taichi Yamada’s 1987 novel, Haigh ties these emotions together then slowly unravels their consequence: distance resulting from unresolved grief. How do you revisit the memories when there’s so much you wish you said? How do you move on?
Haigh explored all of this and more through lonely screenwriter Adam, played by Andrew Scott, who lives in an eerily empty high-rise on the outskirts of London. Adam struggles to write about his past despite routinely visiting his childhood home. A home where his parents, portrayed by Claire Foy and Jamie Bell, are living peacefully — just as they were 30 years ago before they died in a car crash.
Back at his London high-rise, Adam begins a romance with his cryptic neighbour Harry, portrayed by Paul Mescal. As Top of the Pops reruns play in the background, Harry shows up at Adam’s door in the middle of the night, nursing a bottle of whiskey and an irresistible charm.
All of Us Strangers uses fantasy as a vessel for the all-too-real emotions of grief. And maybe that’s what makes it so effective — examining grief by suspending belief. A big part of grieving is wondering what could have been, and how the person you lost would react to the person you are now.
Adam displays layered complexity through profound loneliness, his eyes always a little hollow and vulnerable. He elicits youthful innocence in an adult body as he begins to unwind his childhood trauma. In the film’s most tender moments, Adam’s vulnerability is present whether crawling into bed to snuggle with his parents, or coming out as gay to his trying-to-be-understanding mother.
Adam’s relationship with his parents fuels the film’s melancholic pace. Scott’s purity paired with Bell’s melting hard exterior complements the warm moments between Foy and Scott.
Scott avidly navigates Adam’s need to open himself to love with nervous tremors and sheepish disposition, and coming to the realization that the loneliness from his childhood is not something he can simply brush off.
Loneliness plagues Harry, too. He is far from perfect, but that doesn’t steer Adam away. In Adam’s mind, his lover is a little like himself: lonely but craving intimacy. A specific type of loneliness perfect for Mescal’s character, whose stare and brilliant smile mask a lingering sensitivity.
Together, Adam and Harry present not a romanticized loneliness, but rather a startling truth to its impact.
“‘Oh thanks, it happened a long time ago,’” Adam says to Harry about his parents’ death. “’I don’t think that really matters,’” Harry reassures.
Despite the characters’ hollow lives and their empty high-rise apartment complex, All of Us Strangers overflows with insurmountable feeling. Melancholia seeps from every aching line of dialogue, and the shadows of Adam’s past linger in frames of mirrors or train windows reflecting his 12-year-old self.
Always powerful but never emotionally manipulative, All of Us Strangers is the rare kind of story that leaves a permanent, haunting trace. A fitting result for a film about the lingering ability of grief.'

Hey, I am happy to provide any kind of insight when it comes to Digimon and their characters and I'm glad if I could help you out a little! I am always intrigued to discuss VA choices, as I have done the same for Taichi's German VA in the past. Plus, what you said here is interesting if you consider that Natsuki Hanae initially thought he was more fitting to play Takeru or Koushirou...
Please have a VERY interesting read in this regard!
Here's a little snippet:
Mutsumi Tamura (Koushirou's VA): Did they decide you’d be Taichi from the very beginning? Natsuki Hanae (Taichi's VA): They did. Taichi’s role was the only one where they directly scouted out the actor they wanted. But personally, for me, my image of Taichi was the very energetic one played by (Toshiko) Fujita-san, and I didn’t think my voice would fit him very well. So I was actually the one to ask them, I’m willing to take Taichi, but don’t you think I might be better for someone like Koushirou or Takeru? But in the end, they had me play Taichi. Tamura: You must have been nervous. Hanae: I was! I was happy, but that came with even more pressure. I know they were the ones to cast me, but I was wondering if I could even pull this off well.
thanks to @seventeenlovesthree ive gain more of an understanding into dynamics in the og digimon cast that i really appreciate.
however, i am on an ensemble stars deep dive so its also really interesting. especially concerning natsuki hanae’s voice acting in it.
for taichi, he usually uses a deeper part of his regular speaking voice. singing voice is similar, in retrospect. it starts on A3.
for hiyori, he definitely puts on airs. like, once your familiar of what changes. it puts things in perspective. its slightly nasalier. the deepest note he sings is in Faith Conquest, which is F3. this song is also known for its high note which is E5.
lyric wise though, their character songs are interesting. in the case that I believe that it could be swapped and it would fit. hiyori literally means weather and he uses it as a pun.
fantastic days would follow the pattern from the previous character songs.
for their friendships, the long lasting relationships happened when they were younger. both around the age of 11. taichi with the 99 digidestined and hiyori with nagisa.
theyre both characters that are symbolized by the sun. and that turns complicated as they get older.
in the most important situations, as of tri-onwards taichi is known to overthink and hesitate to act. in saga, hiyori overthinks and in turn doesnt warn jun about whats going to happen in the event.
yknow i would have a lot more data but tri and kizuna are trauma piles. and i would have to make the full on character analysis posts on my other account to make a difference and include more.

Rating Mankai members by how well they make their bed
Sakuya (7/10)
Does his best!!
But no one really taught him how to make his bed, so it ends up a little sloppy
He pulls the covers up and tries to tuck them in, it just ends up a little lumpy
A for effort though
Masumi (3/10)
Does not make his bed
He never had to and still doesn’t feel the need to
But his bed isn’t really sloppy. Everything’s still ON the bed, so I guess he gets some natural points
Tsuzuru (2/10)
Does not make his bed
He would if he wasn’t so tired, he just can’t be bothered with everything else on his plate
Plus if he did he’d probably pass out on the covers every time instead of under them
Unlike Masumi, his blankets hang off the bed sometimes
Itaru (-10/10)
Not only does he have no idea when he last made his bed
He’s not sure when he last changed his sheets
Citron (9/10)
Makes his bed!
Guy used to do it for him, but he picked it up and made a conscious effort to do it himself once he moved into the dorm
It’s nice and smooth. Nothing fancy, but very crisp
Fixes Sakuya’s bed for him on occasion
Chikage (8/10)
Makes his bed
He follows standard bed-making protocol
It’s not really impressive or unique, but it gets the job done
Tenma (0/10)
Does not make his bed
Doesn’t even know that beds need to be made. He thinks beds make themselves
Still doesn’t understand why Yuki’s bed is made when he gets home but his isn’t
He gets 0 points because at least the others that don’t make their bed understand that they’re supposed to do it themselves if they want it done
Yuki (10/10)
Makes his bed very meticulously
Pillows? Fluffed. Blanket? Folded at the top
Changes out his setup to fit the season. Lighter colors in summer and darker ones in winter
Everything is in its place. It looks like you wandered into a cute IKEA
Muku (9/10)
Makes his bed
The stuffed animals need to be comfy after all
William is put in his proper spot every morning and tucked in every night
He doesn’t move around a lot when he sleeps so there’s not too much for him to fix in the morning
Misumi (4/10)
Makes his bed???? Kind of????
In the morning he doesn’t, he goes straight to going about his day
But if he’s in his room and realizes the blankets are bunched up at the bottom, he’ll pull them up so the triangles on it are visible
But it’s not like he MAKES the bed or adjusts the blankets or anything
Kazunari (8/10)
Makes his bed very neatly
He’s always been serious about keeping any space that isn’t his art space very neat and tidy, and that extends to his bed
Room 202 is definitely a contender for best looking room in terms of the beds
Loses points because sometimes he rushes and doesn’t fix the blankets all the way
Kumon (3/10)
Doesn’t make his bed
It’s just not something he really felt the need to do
The rest of his room is clean, so his mom never really nagged him about the bedsheets
He’d make it before friends came over, though
Banri (6/10)
Will make his bed like half the time
Sometimes he’s got nothing better to do so he may as well, sometimes he wants his side to look better than Juza’s
Sometimes he can’t be bothered, sometimes he can barely be bothered to do ANYTHING and he sure isn’t going to waste spoons on his bed
When he DOES make his bed it’s basically perfect so he gets the extra point
Juza (1/10)
Does not make his bed
Like with Kumon, as long as the rest of his room was clean and they didn’t have guests, his mom didn’t really mind
But nowadays he has like candy wrappers and shit in there too? Nasty
Banri’s considering an intervention
Taichi (2/10)
Omi makes his bed
So at least it gets made??
When Omi’s not home it’s a disaster, the blankets are twisted, inside out, and kicked all over the place
Omi (10/10)
Makes both his and Taichi’s bed
It’s straightforward bed making. He makes sure to smooth out any lumps formed from the blankets bunching up
It’s not perfect, but he gets bonus points for completely making two beds
Sakyo (8/10)
Makes his bed
Like Chikage, it gets the job done, and that’s all that can really be said about it
Azami (7/10)
Makes his bed
Sakyo taught him how, so they do it basically the same way
But Azami doesn’t bother trying to tuck in the blankets on the side of the wall
Tsumugi (5/10)
Makes his bed... kind of
He adjusts his blankets and stuff, but he doesn’t really do the traditional “making the bed”
He just makes sure it doesn’t look awful
Tasuku (7/10)
Makes his bed, but not right away
He goes on his morning jog first, then after getting dressed for the day, he’ll make his bed
He not a perfectionist about it, but it’s adequate
Hisoka (1/10)
Does not make his bed
Why bother, when he’s gonna be back in it soon?
He knows HOW, he just doesn’t
Homare (3/10)
Ok hot take but he also doesn’t make his bed
He’s got too much to do I guess. He’s a very neat person but that just doesn’t extend to his bed for whatever reason
It’s the main reason why Hisoka’s doesn’t get done, since Homare handles most of the cleaning in the rest of the room
The top of the blanket hangs out somewhere in the middle so it’s not the most unsightly thing as is
Azuma (11/10)
Did not make his bed until coming to the dorm, but now he has the will to do it again
And oh boy is his bed MADE
The pillows are fluffed and the blankets are adjusted
Always finishes off with a pillow spray that fits his aromatherapy needs for the day, so it smells great too
Guy (10/10)
Makes his bed
Follows bed-making protocol to the letter. It’s so smooth and crisp you’d think you’re in a hotel
Some mornings he still goes to Citron’s room to make his, forgetting that Citron does it himself nowadays
Room 206 is the other contender for best beds
#a3!#I don't make my bed very well so hopefully this is reasonable#fixed the formatting so it’s not so long by default

A3! Mikage Hisoka | SSR - Serpent God's Beloved | Translation
Quote: “The serpent god is pure white like a marshmallow. …If its body is softer, it would be the best body pillow.”
Special thanks to Adrie for her help with some lines!! (´。• ᵕ •。`)
--------------------------
Disclaimer: Neither English nor Japanese is my native language, but I did my best with the translation. If you find any mistakes, feel free to tell me. By the way, Director’s name will be Izumi.
The Dance of the Serpent God /1
Izumi: Tsumugi-san, I finished watering the flowers over there. Is there anything else I could do to help you? Tsumugi: Thank you. In that case, how about... Taichi: Gyaaaa-! Izumi: T-Taichi-kun? What's wrong? Taichi: Director-sensei, don't come here! Taichi: A-A serpent...! There's a serpent close to Hisoka-san! It's dangerous! Izumi: Eeh! Izumi: (I-It's true! Next to Hisoka's foot...!) Tsumugi: W-What should we do? Hisoka-kun hasn't noticed the serpent, and he seems to be asleep... Hisoka: Ngh... Izumi: Ah, he woke up! Hisoka: ...So noisy... what is it? Izumi: Hisoka-san, don't move! It's dangerous! Taichi: That's right! Just keep trying to pretend you're dead! Hisoka: I don't remember doing something like that, but okay... Izumi: I said it without thinking, but is it the right thing not to move against a serpent...? Tsumugi: I’m not sure about it... however, I haven't seen that serpent doing anything harmful until now... - Ding dong - Izumi: A guest at a time like this!? Taichi: We don't have time for that now! ???: Excuse me–! Is there anyone home–? Tsumugi: …I guess the best would be to go and open. Taichi and I will think about what to do with this. Izumi: Thanks and sorry. I’ll leave for a bit. Taichi: Uuh… Director-sensei, please come back soon!
Izumi: I’m sorry, we are a bit busy at the moment… Male: I apologize for interrupting. I’m looking for a serpent… Izumi: A serpent!? Actually, there’s one here in the courtyard…! Male: Seriously? That serpent might be the one I’m looking for! Izumi: We were wondering what to do… however, come this way, please…!
Male: Aah, there you are…! I’m glad…! Taichi: That’s so neat! He caught it in no time! Tsumugi: I thought it could be tame since it didn’t show signs of attack if you stayed still. Izumi: I see. Hisoka: Is it alright if I move now…? Taichi: Sure! I’m glad you’re okay now, Hisoka-san…! Male: I apologize for the inconvenience caused. I’m in debt for your help…! Izumi: There’s no need. I’m glad you could find it with no trouble. Do you take care of that serpent? Male: Yes, we take care of it in our shrine. Izumi: Shrine…? Male: Pardon me, I forgot to introduce myself… I’m a priest in the shrine where we worship the serpent protector god. Izumi: So you were a priest!? Priest: Yes. I noticed this morning our serpent wasn’t there, so I hurried up to find it. Tsumugi: I understand now. Even so, I’m glad you found it without trouble. Taichi: I thought my heart would stop when I saw it close to Hisoka-san’s foot… Hisoka: Indeed, that was an awful scream. Priest: By the way… Priest: How we met feels like fate… may I ask you a favor? Tsumugi: To us? Priest: Yes. I would appreciate it if you could listen to my request. Please, I’m begging you…! Izumi: Ah, there’s no need to bow to your head…! Let’s enter to hear the request.
The Dance of the Serpent God /2
Izumi: Then, do you want to ask us…? Priest: Well, our shrine will hold a festival in a few weeks. Taichi: That’s great! It sounds fun! Priest: Every year at the festival, we do a dance on stage to pray for an auspicious year. It’s called the dance of the serpent god Priest: For the serpent god’s role, we always cast someone from the general public… However, we haven’t found someone who fits its image this year. Izumi: I see, it must be crucial in that kind of dance. Priest: That’s why I would like to request your help with the dance if that’s not much trouble. Hisoka: Mine…? Taichi: Awesome! You would be cool as the serpent god! Priest: As soon as I saw you, I knew only you could be the serpent god this year. Priest: If you feel suspicious of this sudden request, I could guide you to the shrine so you can feel at peace. Izumi: (The priest is a polite person, I wouldn’t think he is lying to us…) Tsumugi: I would agree. It might be a good experience. Izumi: What do you think about it, Hisoka-san? I also think it could be good for acting, but it’s up to you… Hisoka: …Then, I’ll do it. Priest: Thank you very much!
Homare: So Hisoka-kun practices his dance in this shrine, I see. Hmm. A quite elegant one, if I must say. Izumi: Yes. He seems to be practicing today too. Azuma: I’m excited to see what kind of dance he will do. Tasuku: Right there is Mikage, right? Hisoka: Munch, munch… Tsumugi: You’re eating marshmallows… Are you on your break, Hisoka-san? Hisoka: Mhm. Guy: Those marshmallows are different from the ones you always eat. Izumi: Did the priest give them to you? Hisoka: He did. He prepared lots of them for me. Unlike Arisu’s marshmallows, these aren’t cheap. Homare: Pardon you! How could you say that when I’ve brought you some of them? Hisoka: I’ll eat those later. I’m taking them. Homare: Oh my… what a selfish little one you are. Tasuku: The stage’s festival looks well made after all. Judging from what you said, it felt like a new type of scam… Tsumugi: Tasuku always doubts those suddenly suspicious talks. Tasuku: It can’t be helped. They sound unbelievable. Guy: I can understand how Takato feels, though. To be honest, I was dubious about it as well. Azuma: Why were you willing to be the serpent god, Hisoka? Hisoka: …Because Tsumugi and Director said it might be a good experience. The priest also asked me personally to do it. Azuma: Fufu, I see. Your motivation is good too. Izumi: Oh, right. I heard there’s a space to ask about your worries to the serpent god… Guy: Mikage will do that? Hisoka: Mhm. I often forget my worries when I sleep. I guess it will be okay if I answer that. Tasuku: …No, it won’t. Don’t answer that.
The Dance of the Serpent God /3
Izumi: Whoa, it’s full of stalls! Homare: It’s kind of crowded, doesn’t it? Tsumugi: It would have been nice if Taichi-kun could have come too… Izumi: He was sad since he couldn’t come because of his school event. Guy: We should buy Nanao a present before going home. Azuma: Let’s look for one together when Hisoka’s performance is over. Tasuku: It seems to be about to start. Priest: Well then, we would like to start the space where you ask your worries to the serpent god. Priest: If you would like to ask it something, please raise your hand. Child: Here, here. Priest: Yes, the lively child there. What is your question to the serpent god? Child: I always get hungry in the middle of my classes! What should I do if that happens, serpent god? Hisoka: …Eat a marshmallow. Priest: Eh? Well… That’s right. Marshmallows suddenly increase your blood sugar levels… Azuma: Fufu. That’s so Hisoka. Homare: My my, he only thinks about marshmallows no matter where he is. Tasuku: Don’t let it slide like that, both of you. Tsumugi: The priest’s answer could fix it somehow… I guess. Guy: It would be problematic if the priest weren't here. Priest: T-To continue, the next one will be… ah, you over there! Izumi: M-Me!? Hisoka: It’s alright. Is there something troubling you?
Choose 1: Nothing really.
Izumi: Uhmm… Nothing, in particular, I guess. Hisoka: Are you sure? Izumi: Yes. I’m satisfied with everything I have at the moment. Hisoka: …I see. I feel the same as you. Every day is fun. Izumi: Fufu. I’m glad you enjoy your every day too.
Choose 2: Truth is…
Izumi: To be honest, I’ve been struggling with my curry spice mixtures. I feel like something's missing or the flavor's stagnant… Hisoka: Curry again… well, that’s typical of you, Director. Hisoka: How about adding marshmallows to it as something new? It will be good for sure. Izumi: Marshmallows for curry!? No, wait, what if you think of it as adding sweetness...?… Tasuku: Absolutely not. Stop with that.
Hisoka: I will always listen to your problems, Director. Come to me whenever you are troubled. Izumi: Haha, thanks.
Izumi: The ask your troubles space ended without problems. I was worried about what could happen for a while… Tsumugi: Hisoka-kun’s answers were fun to hear. A lot of people raised their hands because of it. Azuma: At last, Hisoka’s dance is next. Izumi: You’re right. I’m excited about it. He seems to have practiced a lot. Homare: Well, look at that. I guess it started while you were talking. Hisoka: — Izumi: (Hisoka-san’s appearance is very serious, and his silhouette on the stage is perfect. I can tell he gave his best to reach here in a short time…)
Tsumugi: Hisoka-kun, good job up there. Hisoka: Thanks for coming, everyone. Azuma: It was a splendid dance. Guy: I agree. I couldn’t take my eyes away from you on stage. Priest: Mikage-san, Tachibana-san. Izumi: Ah, priest. Nice to see you. Thank you for today. Priest: That’s what I should say. I’m extremely thankful that you accepted my request, even if it was too much to ask. Hisoka: It was a good experience… I had fun doing it. Thanks. Priest: I’m glad if you think that way. Until the next time we see, I would like to give you this small present. Hisoka: …! High-class marshmallows…! Izumi: But this amount…! Thank you, we’ll gladly accept them. Hisoka: Thanks… I’ll enjoy eating them. Azuma: Fufu. Good for you, Hisoka. Tsumugi: Now that Hisoka-kun’s part is over, all that’s left is enjoying the festival together. Azuma: What should we eat? I’m feeling a bit thirsty too. Tasuku: Then how about getting some beers? Homare: How nice it is to drink beer outdoors! Guy: In that case, how about some ikayaki to go with them? Izumi: Everyone is pretty excited. Let’s go too, Hisoka-san. Hisoka: Wait. Izumi: Whoa…! What’s wrong? Hisoka: I want one of those marshmallows. Izumi: Ah, right. Those are your reward. Please, eat them. - Hisoka gets closer - Hisoka: Aah… Izumi: Hmm… do I have to feed you? Hisoka: Mhm. Carrying a bag is tiring… Izumi: Well, since you gave your best… Here, good work today. Hisoka: Munch, munch… thanks, so good.

This is an interesting question!
So I will say, Megidramon only happening to look scary isn’t quite true, because they do say that his sheer existence is corrosive based on the Digital Hazard going clearly haywire (naturally, we can’t really get his own feelings on the matter, but I think the intended implication is that he’s lost all sense of reason anyway).
Then again, we’re supposedly supposed to be having the take-home that Takato is worse than Beelzebumon, which is a claim I have so many choice words about, so this particular case is one I tend to have very mixed feelings about in general.
I do agree that the statement at the end of Adventure about SkullGreymon not necessarily being a "wrong" evolution is probably intended to be pretty much exactly what it says, and it just happened that Adventure and 02 (and honestly most other Digimon series) have just not been very good at actually demonstrating a case where that would apply. (I do think the analysis of SkullGreymon in 02 is interesting; I definitely hadn’t thought of that before!) The idea of there not being a “wrong” evolution is actually pretty compliant with how the original V-Pets work, in that each evolution has their own conditions, strengths, and weaknesses; meanwhile, the concept of Digimon evolutions being tied to human emotions is something that comes straight from Adventure, since that wasn't necessarily a hard rule before then but is taken for granted as a concept now.
I should mention that I have very iffy feelings on how the fandom tends to view “dark evolutions” due to the fact there’s a tendency to constantly move the goalposts around as to what constitutes one (the lack of one used to be exploited as a way of insulting characters like Daisuke or Taiki or Tagiru by claiming that them not having one somehow made them flat characters, and sometimes I feel that people’s fixation with it gets to “edgy and dark for the sake of it” levels), and moreover there’s this stereotype of them having to be associated with Takato and Masaru’s “wrath, rage, and despair” kind of thing without acknowledging that the “original” case of SkullGreymon actually came out of “Taichi being kind of an idiot”. I do agree there’s a certain archetype around this arena that’s worth defining, I just don’t think it’s as clear-cut as the fanbase tends to treat it. However, it’s definitely refreshing to have something with this kind of concept with some kind of nuance regarding morality and something other than “berserk rampaging monster that can only be subdued by fighting it”, and I would definitely agree Gulus seems to be the closest "dark" evolution that fits that concept of “not fundamentally a wrong evolution, just not the one for that time” in that he seems to be more of an anti-hero than anything and is the first of this archetype to be presented as having proper reason.
What's interesting is that in the finale of 01, Gennai says that SkullGreymon wasn't a "wrong" evolution and there is no such thing as a "wrong" evolution, but it was just not the one meant for their purposes. Which suggests there actually is a time and a place for evolutions like it. It reminds me of what happens in Tamers where, as I keep saying, Megidramon did nothing wrong. Takato was filled with righteous fury towards Beelzebumon who had killed Leomon and was going to kill the rest of them too, so MegaloGrowmon evolved to ultimate level and fought Beelzebumon on equal footing exactly as intended. He never turned on his friends or anything like that. In fact, after Guilmon reverted, a remnant of Megidramon's power protected Takato when Beelzebumon tried to shoot them. Megidramon's only crime was looking scary, and may I remind you that Takato was also scared of Growmon and MegaloGrowmon the first time Guilmon evolved into them. Also, when Greymon evolved into SkullGreymon in 02, he fought the other mind-controlled digimon. He slapped away Fladramon, Digmon, and Holsmon after they attacked him, then used Ground Zero to destroy the dark tower with perfect accuracy. To me, it looked like Agumon was fighting against the evil ring from within and becoming SkullGreymon actually helped everyone.

A3! Usui Masumi - Translation [SSR] Haunted Butler (3/3)
*Please read disclaimer on blog; default name set as Izumi
---
Izumi: (Tomorrow is finally the Halloween event.) (The announcement also went well… I wonder what kind of costumes everyone is going to wear tomorrow?)
Citron: Come on, Masumi. Hurry up and come over here!
Masumi: No.
Sakuya: Don’t say that. Let Director have a look!
Izumi: You three… are those your costumes for the big day?
Sakuya: Yes. The three of us plan to wear these costumes to do our street act.
Citron: We are going to make everyone shudder with a bloody horror!
Izumi: Really now? (Their costumes are more cute that scary though… I wonder what kind of bloody horror it’ll be?)
Masumi: …I asked these two to prepare my costume, but they dropped the ball. I asked them because they said they would choose a cool costume that would captivate you.
Citron: We chose it correctly!
Sakuya: Yeah. You look cool, Masumi-kun!
Option 1: “I think it’s great too!”
Izumi: I think it’s great too!
Masumi: You like it, Director?
Izumi: Yeah. It suits you.
Masumi: Have I captivated you?
Izumi: EH!? Um… I wonder about that.
Option 2: “You can really feel the Halloween vibe!”
Izumi: You can really feel the Halloween vibe!
Masumi: It does fit the vibe like you said, but I wish the costume was cooler.
Izumi: What kind are of costume are you thinking of?
Masumi: Like Dracula or a werewolf…
Izumi: I see. So you like those kinds of costumes, huh?
Izumi: But I think that costume is fantastic since it balances out Sakuya-kun and Citron-kun’s ghosts.
Masumi: I thought so too.
Citron: He is way too good at changing his mind with the flick of a snitch!
Sakuya: Flick of a snitch…? Ah, could you possibly mean… flip of a switch?
Citron: That’s it!
*door opens*
Taichi: Director-sensei! What do you think about our costumes?
Izumi: Oh, you and Yuki-kun chose wizard costumes! Those bring back memories. I also thought this before, but these costumes really are high-quality!
Yuki: Of course they are.
Taichi: We plan to put on a street act about twin wizards tomorrow!
Kumon: Director! Look at me too! ROAR!
Izumi: (Everyone looks like they’re having fun. I’m sure the event will turn out well.)
Homare: Everyone appears to be in high spirits.
Izumi: Ah, Homare-san. You’re dressed up as a yokai? Wearing Japanese clothes for Halloween is also refreshing!
Homare: Many thanks. However, this is not all. Now then, here comes the main star.
Itaru: Thank~ you~ for~ waiting~.
Sakuya: I-Itaru-san!?
Citron: Oh! It’s a princess!
Izumi: That really packs a punch…!
Itaru: I asked the kimono shop to borrow it especially for this occasion. With this, we’re gonna win this thing.
Masumi: …
Kumon: So Homare-san is dressed up as a yokai… I thought we were going to wear our onesies together…
Homare: I-is that so? My apologies… In that case, how about I don a combination of a yokai and onesie…!
Masumi: I’ll wear Japanese clothes and leave a fresh impact too.
Izumi: But your current costume looks good on you, Masumi-kun. It’d be a waste to change. I’m really looking forward to your trio’s bloody horror!
Masumi: If you say so, then I’ll wear this costume and get first place tomorrow.
Citron: Masumi is motivated. We are going to terrorize Veludo Way tomorrow!
Sakuya: Let’s do our best together, alright, Masumi-kun!
Masumi: Yeah.
Izumi: I can’t wait to watch your street act!

Shiratorizawa gangbang maybe??
of course<3
tw: dub-con!!
Gangbang Msterlist!
Little Satori-chan’s girlfriend that the team fawns over
You, by accepting Satori’s confession, also agreed to manage the school’s golden boys- a job that you do exceptionally well
Of course, the guys on the team already know you, Tendou hasn’t stopped talking about you since first year
On the first day of practice, Goshiki even knew how you liked your rice
Now, it’s not that they had absolutely no faith that Tendou would ever admit his feelings, by they definitely didn't think he’d invite you to be manager five minutes after you were pronounced a couple.
And you didn't have the best introduction to all of them, the third years knew you- being in the same year- but everyone else thought you were some random lady flying through the gym doors.
What makes it wore is that you flew straight into Ushijima, meaning you made an even bigger scene falling onto the floor
It was no worries though, everything was cleared up within minutes and you had begun your duties!
It was pretty awkward, to begin with
Goshiki could barely look you in the eyes without blushing, causing Shirabu to start reprimanding him, then you, was rocky enough
But also, Ushijima’s unnerving stares that were always on you, no matter what you were doing
And the looming threat of Washijo looking for a chance to get rid of you was always in the back of your mind
It took almost a month for you to be invited to “the boyzz” (tendou named it) sleepover
That’s where everything opened up for you, they revealed things to you that you would never have expected, Goshiki being a gymnast?? And Shirabu playing the piano for fun????
But along with those months, Tendou got far more comfortable with PDA than before
(if you count groping you in the middle of the quad and shoving his face in your boobs during the break of a stupid practice game)
One of the bad habits he’d picked up was ”accidentally” fucking you in the locker-room while half of the team was still there
There have been many times where you’ve almost been caught-- ALMOST
This was not one of these times and now you were bent over a bench as the Shiratorizawa Volleyball club stares at you- satori of no help, laughing behind you like this was the world’s greatest comedy
Being that he is already in you, Tendou won't let this chance escape him. Before you could utter a word you’re pressed against his chest, showing your entire front to anyone looking. As in, the perfect view of him filling your cunt, fir anyone who was looking. As always, Satori makes a show of you. Hitting all of your spots, purposely arcing your back to push your tit’s out, rubbing your clit making sure to emphasize the juices flowing out of you. His hand on your chin forcing you to keep your eyes up, staring at whoever was looking at your face.
“You wanted this just as much as I did, don’t deny it! We call all hear how wet your pussy is!”
“Look at that, they can’t keep their eyes off you! Such a filthy bitch for enjoying this.”
The second Satori is off you, Goshiki swoops right in, Shirabu following a second after yelling about waiting their turn. But, Tendou practically throws you into their arms as Taichi follows, trying to make sure they don't hurt you too badly. No matter if you’re wet enough or not, Both Shirabu and Goshiki will try to fit in your poor cunt. By default, Taichi takes your mouth. It’s a sight to see, legs wide open taking two dicks in your abused hole, Tendou needs more than a few pictures of that, and when they finish, a few of your stuffed cunt. Taichi didn’t let up even after the other’s finished, fucking your throat with abandon, not leaving until he was sure you wouldn’t cough out his cum.
“Fuck, you’re going to swallow, cunt. Take like a pretty to even
“You cant ecen fuck right, how are you supposed to be the ace?” “shut up!”
It’s no wonder that after that, Semi will step in, only wanting to one-up his underclassman. Setting you in your hands and knees facing where the staring setter had placed himself on the opposite bench. Not only does Semi promise to fuck you better, but he’s going to make you scream louder and cum harder. This means the third year spends time torturing your clit as he abuses your g-spot bringing you from orgasm to orgasm until you squirt all over yourself and him. Adding his finishing touch, cumming in your pussy, then spreading your legs so Shirabu has a nice good look at your creamy cunt.
“Fuck that’s it baby, just a bit more. I know you can, c’mon squirt honey!”
“Just keep your legs like that, such a pretty view ain’t it?
Thankfully, Reon and Yamagata are much softer than the previous. Neither of them going near your quivering pussy, Reon opting for your mouth, and Yamagata trying for a sweet ass fuck. Just the right thing to get you ready for the captain. Staying true to their motives, Yamagata squeezes himself into your ass, taking his time, before Reon enters your mouth. Leaving most of the pace to you, it’s a slow and passionate venture.
“So pretty, your really such a cute thing.”
“I can’t believe Satori hid you for so long, Honey”
As if you weren't fucked out enough, the feeling of big hands on your waist and someone fucking you onto their cock did it. You only knew it was Ushijima by the way he rubbed small circles on your stomach with his thumb. Also in the way, he sat back and let you bounce all over his cock until he knew your legs would give out. Then he flips you over, into the mating press, fucking you like he’ll never get the chance-- both you and he know Satori WILL let him. He leaves bruises on your hips, marking up your neck. All until he pumps you full of cum, laying you back onto the bench, and ordering someone to get a towel.
“I’m gonna breed you, my fucking cow.”
“So pretty, you’re going to take all of me, right? Let me fuck you until you can't feel your legs for the next week?”

Thought process and easter egg on the Digimon Anniversary Illustration!
Hello everyone, today I feel like explaining some stuff over my Digimon Illustration, mostly why I drew thing this way or point out some little details and easter eggs you might have missed. ;)
Click on read more if you want a LENGTHLY explanation with a lot of rambling from me, or if not you can just enjoy the process gif. <3
The Digimon illustration was a special one for me for different reasons. Firstly, obviously, Digimon! It was a show I grew up with, and I find it quite fitting that after a tough year of graduation movie under a pandemic, in which I really experienced the pain of growing up, I ended up finding back Digimon.
Secondly, as a child, I remember spending HOURS looking for fanarts online! I would save all the ones I found pretty and keep them preciously, i still have the folders actually haha. While pursuing art, I always had in mind thatI wanted one day to make a fanart my child self would have gone crazy over! And, i think I achieved that with that one haha.
Anyway LET’S START! Shall we?
First off : the illustration process
When I do an illustration I always do a quick draft first, and most of the time, in colors. I think I’m more of a “color” person than a “line” person, I tend to need to see colors quickly in order to see if it’s ok.
For this one, I’ve always had in mind it would be a double illustration, with the older Tai’s silhouette acting as a frame for the children illustration. It was a bit tricky, I had to make the children illustration fit nicely into his silhouette, it was hassle around the neck area, that’s why I made little Taichi stand up haha. Also used Mimi’s hat to balance the picture : the bottom part is very heavy and there’s only sky in the upper part, adding the hat helps making it more balanced.
The character were the longest and the most challenging part by far. As you can see I had 3 different steps : super rough, they’re almost like stickmen and smiley face, a more detailled one in which I figure out their actual pose and anatomy, then a last one in which I fix some proportion, add details and clean. Fun fact I don’t clean over a new layer... i just erase the unwanted part of my sketch. :’D
I did a quick pass over the BG after that, then I colored the characters in flat colors before rendering them. It was a back and forth between the BG and the characters to make sure everything was working together nicely.
Now was the time to render the BG, I did the tramway first, the flower field after. Fun fact, I did my flower field study in order to know how to approach the flowers in this illustration! If your have the time, i totally recommend finding a photograph close to the kind of BG you wanna do, and make a study of it so you can try your hand at it first and go into your own BG later with an idea of how to approach this.
Adjust colors, add flower petals and butterflies and emotional text, slap over a paper texture, and THERE. You have it! On to the next part now...
The meaningful details and easter eggs
Be aware there will be spoilers for Digimon Adventure 01 (but I assume you already know it), but also for Digimon Adventure : Last evolution Kizuna, which is the conclusion of the first serie. So read at your own risk!
The tramway is obviously a reference to the end of Digimon Adventure 01. The kids used it to go back to their world, so It was their goodbye to their Digimon at this moment. In Kizuna, Tai and Matt find the tramway trapped in crystal in Menoa’s fake memory world. Hinting that had they been caught by her, their memories would have brought them back here.
Tailmon has Kari’s whistle! At the end of Digimon Adventure 01, Kari gives it to her as a memento.
When I drew Sora, I had in mind how she was in Kizuna, very stressed out by her mom’s expectation, which led her to neglect Piyomon. She realized it too late, and after that she refused to fight because she wanted to keep Piyomon with her as long as possible. Tragically, she was the first one to lose her Digimon. Here I tried to convey a softness and a kind of “I won’t forget to appreciate you” vibe in the way she holds Piyomon’s hand. As for Mimi and Palmon, in Digimon adventure 01 Palmon was very emotionally affected by Mimi’s departure, so, a hug was fitting. :’)
The screens on the Tramway display DA for Digimon Adventure, and also 01.08.1999 which is the date of the children’s journey’s beginning. :)
The little drawings also show the 8 crests.
There are butterflies flying over the illustration, it’s a reference to Butter-fly, the first Digimon opening, by the late Koji Wada.
"I'll become a happy butterfly, and ride on the glittering wind, I'll come and see you soon. “
Now, let’s the see the counterpart of the illustration. The one with the grown up Tai from Kizuna.
I made him wear the hoodie he had in his very last adventure with Agumon.... but truthfully the reason is that I think hoodies are cool lol. And the hood’s volume gave me more space in the silhouette, which made it easier for me to do the other illustration inside.
You don’t see it clearly, but he is holding his Digivice, albeit the darkened version once his partner bond with Agumon is broken. The Tai in this illustration has already lost Agumon. (Yes it was painful for me to go fetch the screenshots)
He is also holding his dear signature google he used to wear as a child. Fun fact, I rewatched the older movies, and as a kid he even used to sleep with it, how cute haha.
Also yes, the crest of Courage over his hand, which is his own. I’m so dumb I realize I should have made the time counter from the movie instead of the crest for a maximum emotional hurt impact.
And the quote is from one of the trailer for Kizuna, I think.....................
But then you go : Oh that illustration is so depressing then! Well. Yes. But no. but yes. But not really.
One of my favorite shot of the movie is this one : this is after Tai and Agumon learn their time together is limited. Agumon asks him if they will have to go separate ways once Tai is all grown up. Tai doesn’t answer, and takes him to eat something instead, as Agumon was hungry. In this shot Agumon eats to his heart content next to Tai, who’s not eating at all and just watches him fondly. I love that the framing doesnt show agumon. It’s a foreshadowing of their unavoidable separation.
At the very end of the movie, Tai write in his thesis about Human and Digimon’s relationship that Agumon was like a part of himself.
In a way, Agumon symbolizes childhood, the carefree days we would spend as a kid, with our big dreams and hopes. When you grow up, you tend to forget those simple emotions because you get swallowed into the stress of studies, figuring out your carreer, your life path. Just like us, Tai forgot this part of himself. In the madness of growing up, he lost Agumon.
However, it’s not the end. He will pick himself back up. He will move forward in life despite his worries and incertainities, and he will find himself again. Therefore, he will find Agumon again. The kids in the illustration are waving goodbye, but it’s not goodbye, it’s a see you later. In the meantime, Tai is holding on to these precious memories, until they meet again.
#Digimon#Digimon adventure#Yagami Taichi#Digimon adventure : last evolution kizuna#illustration process#kinda analysis#listen im actually writing this for myself#I spend 4 days on that illu with a lot of feels and I need to write them down#This is basically what my close friends have to endure each time I get an obsession
