HAHA listen I was smiling, then frowned, then laughed when I posted that. I fucking love using reaction pics, I have like 20k in my gallery I’ve saved over years and a bunch of videos so trust I will use them.

I realized that I haven’t really written any like actual angst yet, just angsty stuff, not to say that I won’t write any I absolutely will. I just have a habit of overdoing it and I don’t like skimming over details. Like when I do angst, I want it to hurt, I want it to sting, and I’m not nice about it. I’ve also been in the mood to just make Leon happy and not traumatize him lmfao so my content so far has been him in like a comforting or established dynamic. But yeah, if people want more full on angst, especially on this topic, I’ll do it. I’m just saying in advance, it won’t be pretty but ofc I’ll give warnings on what’s being written. I’ll work on it later on when I get home tonight if I’m not too exhausted since my sleeping schedule has been shit.

A series that I have planned will also have more angst and some graphic stuff (nothing too crazy just descriptions of violence and gore from missions and trauma which are important to the story), so you’ll definitely be seeing more of that soon.

sometimes i am stunned when i remember that not only are katniss and peeta the youngest people going into the quarter quell but also that they are still literally KIDS. they are children facing 22 adults with not only years of friendship between them but years of mentorship to learn the best strategies of the games.

katniss is a 17yo girl who was malnourished most of her life that only had months to try to prepare to catch up to her competitors. peeta is a 17yo boy who is likely still going through puberty! facing fully grown adults.

sure some of the victors are in their early 20s like finnick or johanna, but the maturity difference between early 20s and 17 is huge.

they are kids forced to play in an adults’ game.

honestly I absolutely love the Avvar in Jaws of Hakkon. How they worship the gods, how they view the world around them, how accepting they are and just how interesting they are too. I absolutely despise how the Inquisitor and Companions make commentary as if they're stupid or wrong in their beliefs, or that they're "just crazy people who worship spirits".

The dialogue you don't choose or even the ones you do are on the line of condescending, and it's frankly insulting, especially that all options on the dialogue wheel fall on that line.

the Avvar are so fucking cool, I hate we only get a DLC with them. (I also miss the Chasind - I wish they weren't forgotten or left in the dirt by BioWare :( )

despite being more often than not a "rules as written" fan over "rule of cool", i really do love me a good "rules be damned, i'll give you this awesome moment" call. like matt giving fcg the otohan kill despite what her hp was at or brennan giving cerrit an extra mage slayer reaction attack at the end of calamity. honestly, if anything, i think the fact they mostly play by the book makes these moments even better because it really has that extra weight towards those decisions to put the rules aside.

thinking about how rio’s protectiveness over agatha in episode 5 was kind of sweet, but also darkly possessive in a way that’s very telling of why and how rio loves agatha.

of course rio is going to defend agatha killing her former coven - she’s the only being who would love agatha not just in spite of her countless murders, but because of them. and rio is not going to show ANY mercy to someone who has hurt agatha, especially her mother. she won’t let evanora take agatha because, obviously, she hates her for hurting agatha, but also because she’s not going to let anyone ever take agatha away from her again (cute…only a little concerningly possessive). as rio sees it, agatha belongs to her (whether agatha likes it or not), and she knows she lost agatha once because of her own actions, but she’s sure as hell not going to let anyone else’s actions cause her to lose agatha again.

but also just the way this episode showed how well rio knows agatha?? like even if rio is motivated by selfishness, it’s clear that that possessive nature is born out of love. rio knows agatha’s scars, she knows how badly her mother hurt her, she knows how scared she was to relive those scars, and she knows how strongly she must’ve been affected by hearing nick’s name. she wants agatha back, and she’s going to take every opportunity she can to show or remind agatha that she’s the only one who knows every awful thing agatha has done and still loves her.

tldr: rio’s got a fucked up kind of love for agatha, but its love, and it’s honestly kinda fascinating. something something about how to be loved is to be seen.
