How do you think gender dysphoria should be treated? In people where the discomfort actually never fades, are the only options just enduring it for life? There's also people who are just into extreme body modifications (like nullos), but do you think they should be allowed to do whatever they please instead of therapy or something?
Imo, in most cases, gender dysphoria is a result of various factors that differ from person to person. Therefore, my first advice would be to read stories from a variety of detransitioners. You'll also find commonly repeated advice along the way. I tried to compile some useful tips and links like that here.
Realistically I don't think there's a 'proper'(aka commercial) treatment plan available at the moment. That would require a change in approach from broader society, as well as therapists who are well trained in dealing with gender dysphoria, which is not something that the medical community knows how to do right now imo.
There are certainly some detransitioners for whom gender dysphoria is an ongoing struggle, but still manage to live happily despite it. While the intensity may vary, imo, struggling with gender dysphoria doesn't mean one needs body modifications any more than someone with body dysmorphia. And even if someone decided they wanted to anyway (because that's their personal decision to make), I would strongly recommend connecting with other detransitioners, working thru other mental issues, and waiting a few years before making that decision. Often, gender dysphoria gets better over time, especially with exposure to other gnc and detrans people.
To address the last question, I'd prefer that any extreme body modification for purely cosmetic purposes require some therapy to ensure the patient is in a stable state of mind (body dysmorphia is a disease that surgery doesn't fix and the regret rate even for nose jobs can be quite high). However while I don't advise it, whether or not someone gets extreme cosmetic procedures is not my decision to make and I wouldn't want it to be illegal.
I feel the same about transition. What I would stress even more than the legal aspect is the societal attitude, which currently paints it in many cases as necessary and relatively harmless instead of a risky decision to be made by an informed and prepared adult.
It's kind of like smoking - I'm not trying to make it illegal, but I'm glad we've gotten societally to a point where it's generally accepted as harmful and unhealthy. I'd hope the attitude can change similarly around transition while still respecting those who go down that path.
#asks#0x20#side note to also check WHEN your gender dysphoria is worst#like I can tell mine is worst when I'm staying with my parents and least bad if I have a girlfriend#and also it was pretty bad immediately after desisting but went way down as time went by#adjusting your life to accomodate is totally something you can/should do

Excuse me, THREE SINGLE FUCKING DAYS?
I'm sorry to inform you that in Italy we have this thing "mutua" (that, interestingly, doesn't translate in English). It's basically like a national health insurance that every citizen is born with it. When you're sick, you just get your doctor (which is paid by the State and thus is free for the citizens) certifying your sickness and they also give you the amount of days you should stay at home. You communicate this to your job and you're done. Those days will be paid by the State. Now, the first sick leave is paid in full and it slowly decrease with more sick leaves. There is a maximum amount of consecutives sick leave days you can take, but I never reached it and I only heard people with chronical deseases reach them.
Another nice thing the mutua does, is to partially cover (if not in full) several medications that are considered vital for the people health (when I buy the anti depressant, by buying the generic brand, I pay nothing. Literally nothing. Cancer treatments / other major medications are the same).
Also, the State gives you a number of days you can thake because of family emergencies (don't make me start about maternity leave, is not good as Germany or other EU Nordic countries, but by telling you you will probably have a stroke). I honestly think they are a ridiculously low number of days, because when my father died I only had three consecutives days (like, it doesn't matter if two of those days were in the weekend, they still counted), but considering everything I read by USA fellow employee, at least it's something. You have leaves for taking care of your kids but even a special kind of certification that allows you to work less hours, at the same paycheck, because you are taking care of you elderly parents, or you have health problems that doesn't allow you to work a full 40hrs week.
Our NHS is not perfect, not in the least. In the last 30 years our governments did everything they could to try and dismantle it to make it more American, adducing a "look how good they're doing it without!" and boy, yeah, we are looking at it. You poor bastards. They cut funds and personell and I can tell you there are so much problems it's not a surprise it's a system that is loosing professional regularly every month (especially after COVID. They burned out all of them and then didn't compensate them in any way, or permantely hired more people, etc).
Anyway, the point is, it doesn't matter how much you say "ehi, in some states the situation is not THAT bad", for an European will always look like a frigging unlivable hell.
(oh, and about holidays? I have 12days of single hours to use during the years and 21 full days. Plus, of course, all major Catholics holydays and the State ones. And I'm one of those who has a medium contract about paid holydays).
I don't want to brag but, it already been years since I stopped to see your country as the land of milk and honey and it's time you people break the damn mental conditioning and realize how much they screwed on you.
(plus, mine it's really not the perfect country to live in right now, but it was a bit of a relieve to have finally realized we were not the worst, as for many years everyone, in Europe mostly, said of us).

happy birthday!!! dealer's choice? ❤❤❤
Man-wol was an outlier.
It doesn't usually take thirteen hundred years for the new owner to find peace with themselves.
Chan-sung is forty three when the hotel finds itself ownerless once more.
It's easy for him to get his hands on the wine. He doesn't hesitate to drink it.
"This isn't your destiny," Merciful Mago says, frowning at him.
"The thing about giving people the ability to make their own choices," he says as his humanity becomes tied to the tree that housed his love's spirit for so long, "is that sometimes they make choices you don't like."
Man-wol was a good person. She spent thirteen hundred years helping others and forgave her worst enemies. She's going to come back, and not as a pig or a chicken.
She's going to come back and he's going to be here when she does.
He's going to remember her.
~
Mi-ra is killed at the age of sixty three by a criminal who wanted to get back at Young-soo. All that bad luck catching up to her, maybe.
She asks to be made an employee. Of course he says yes. She's his friend.
Young-soo follows three years later. He'd found the man who had killed his wife and then died of a broken heart a month later.
Chan-sung expects them to leave, but instead they choose to say.
"It took us a long time to make the right choices," Mi-ra says, her hand in Young-soo's. "We probably won't be so fortunate in our next life. Let's linger in this one."
~
Sanchez dies in his nineties, leaving behind three ex-wives, seven children, and thirteen grandchildren.
He barely stays at the hotel long enough to have a drink.
"Veronica is waiting for me, I hope," he says, squeezing Chan-sung's shoulder. "I don't want to make her wait any longer."
~
Yoo-na doesn't even ask. She just puts on the uniform and takes up her position behind the front desk.
"It's funny, isn't it," she says when leans against the counter. "I still look like her. I guess after seventy years in that body, with her name, it really did become mine. Even my soul knows it."
"Did you think it didn't?" he asks.
She ignores that. "Are we really going to keep using brass keys? We should at least update to room cards."
"No," he says.
She doesn't push and he doesn't ask why she's staying.
They both know the answer, after all.
~
He finds all of Man-Wol's things in storage.
It's a relief. He'd worried they'd been lost.
He puts up all her portraits. He keeps her desk. He sleeps in the bed she chose.
"She was not worthy of this devotion," Pitiless Mago sniffs.
"And I was not deserving of heartbreak," he responds kindly. This Mago, at least, does not play games. "Not all fates are earned."
~
Hyu-joong returns. He becomes a teacher.
Yoo-na visits the coffee shop he frequents and Chan-sung pretends not to notice.
He probably should have said something. He doesn't know why he thought Yoo-na was just going to watch the man she loved and lost.
"I suppose I can help file the paperwork," Hyu-joong says, his arm around Yoo-na's shoulders and a ring on her finger. "She tells me that we used to know each other. I'd be happy to help if you don't want to hire a proper manager."
"You know she's a ghost, right?" he asks desperately.
Yoo-na throws him a dirty look but Hyu-joong shrugs. "Nobody's perfect." She shifts that dirty look to him and he amends, "Except you, dear."
He's at least smoother in this life than in his last.
~
Man-wol is no ordinary soul.
She walked halfway across the bridge and didn't forget. She didn't say that, because she didn't know what the Magos would do if the knew.
Apparently a soul cannot exist with for thirteen hundred years without knowing something of endurance.
She's born to a rich family with loving parents. She's popular and pretty and happy and she has a pretty boyfriend who adores her.
When she's nineteen, the dreams start.
The memories start.
"I'm so stupid," she laughs, looking down at the photo of her and her boyfriend, of her and the man she knew as Go-chung.
He's so good to her. If she were different and didn't know who they used to be, it wouldn't matter, and she could have the love story they both deserved.
But she does and it does. She cries after breaking up with him, which if nothing else proves to her she's different than the woman she was. After what he did to her, she shouldn't care, but they're not those people anymore.
She still can't choose him.
"I want to go to Harvard," she tells her parents.
Her mother is enthusiastic while her father is mostly confused. She completes undergrad then goes overseas to attend Harvard Law School.
"Sanchez," she says, delighted, to the boy sitting next to her in her first class.
He blinks. "Do I know you?" His face clears, "Oh, do you know my fiance? I was just waiting for her because she left her laptop at my place."
"Veronica," she says, cursing herself for not making that connection earlier.
She remembers, but it's not like it once was. It's more the memories of remembering than anything else.
They got along in their past lives and they get along in this one too. She and Veronica even get a job at the same firm after college and all three of them live together.
~
There's a newspaper clipping left on his desk. Chan-sung finds out later that Mi-ra left it there.
It's a story about the recently elected legislator to the National Assembly, Kim Seon-bi. Standing next to him his is wife, Choi Seo-hee, and between them are their two daughters.
He frames the article and hangs it.
~
Man-wol is twenty seven when there's a lunar eclipse.
She puts on a bright red matching skirt and blazer and rubies in her ears and on her throat.
"I thought you said you had a job interview," Veronica says, her hand on the swell of her stomach. She's only five months along and Sanchez is a wreck. "You look like you're getting ready for a date."
Man-wol smiles.
She walks into the lobby of Hotel del Luna. It's exactly the same as she remembered. She at least expected them to update to room cards.
"Man-wol!" the woman behind the desk gasps.
It takes her several moments to place her. She looks a lot different. "Hello Yoo-na."
"You remember - you know me?" she asks, reaching out to grab her hands. "You're alive!"
"I'm alive," she repeats. "Call the owner. Tell him a candidate for the manager position is here."
Yoo-na's mouth drops open before it closes. "How did you - you know that he's-"
"I know who the owner is," she says gently. "Call him."
~
Chan-sung is looking over expense reports when the phone rings. "Yes?"
"There's someone here," Yoo-na says. He frowns. Her voice is trembling. "For the manager position."
"I told you to turn away any humans that show up tonight," he says. They're always more trouble than they're worth.
"We need a proper human manager. My husband can't do it forever," she says. "You should at least interview her."
She hangs up before he can argue against it. He sighs, rubbing at his eyes before pushing himself back from his desk. It'll be faster to send them away himself than to argue with her.
He takes the elevator down, smile firmly in place when the doors open and he steps into the lobby. "Apologies, I believe there's been some," he starts then can't continue, every thought he has flying out of his head.
It's Man-wol.
She bows to him, holding out her resume with both hands. He's never seen her this polite. "Hello, Mr. Owner. As a Harvard graduate with excellent references, I believe you'll find that I'm your zero choice applicant."
He can't form a single coherent thought. Disbelief and joy and confusion on how she even found the hotel to begin with. Then her words sink in and he can't feel his legs. Zero choice applicant. No one says that. Is it just a remnant of her past life or does she -
His knees buckle and she jumps forward to catch him, grabbing his elbows and yanking him into her. "Chan-sung! You're still like this after all these years? How do you get anything done-"
"Man-wol," he says, reaching up a hand to touch her face. He's had dreams like this before. "Are you real?"
"What kind of stupid question is that?" she demands.
He's missed her so much.
He tips her head up and kisses her. He doesn't notice he's crying until he tastes the salt on his tongue but it doesn't slow either of them down.
"So," she says breathlessly when he finally forces himself to pull back, "does that mean I can have the job?"
"You can have whatever you want," he says, then kisses her again.

Wait can u post it again I’m here 24/7 the second I leave you post sth I’m gonna cry 😭 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
y'know what? i'll post it here and delete this once the full fic is out 😌
"Fuck! Dumb bitch," I face-palmed when I idiotically replied to Jay.
"Why? What's wrong?" "You good?" two of my friends asked while the other one just raised his eyebrow.
We're currently chilling in the school's empty library. One of them is my classmate who is also on her period and the other two just wanted to bail.
"I said something in the group chat," I groaned, covering my eyes with my arms. Why am I so stupid?
"And..?"
"Jake used to go here, remember? He knows that I'm supposed to be in class right now," I turned to my side on the bean bag. This somehow makes my ovaries hurt more.
"Oh shit- well.. Maybe he'll think that you're just opening your phone in class," one of the guys said.
"Orr worst case scenario, just tell them the truth. You skipped math cause your vagina walls are shedding and it hurts like shit so you can't get yourself to deal with more torture," the other guy said.
"But I just got into a fight with Heeseung and Jungwon yesterday so I really don't wanna get scolded again," getting scolded is nothing new to me, but when it comes from any of my boyfriends (or parents)... It just hits more.
And my currently sensitive, thick, hard-as-hell-to-achieve ass won't be able to take it. Just like what happened yesterday with Heewon.
"It's not like they've never ditched before, no?" the same guy raised his eyebrow.
"Dude, we rarely go to school and hardly ever stay for the whole day. Last time any of them ditched was probably in their trainee days," I ran a hand through my bangs."I just hope that Jake doesn't- shit! I was just about to say that I hope he won't snitch!"
"He said 'shouldn't you be in class right now?' oh my God," I groaned again.
Jake fucking Sim. I swear to- I mean, it's not his fault, it's mine but I'm feeling real petty so, JAKE FUCKING SIM.
"Well, Delle," my girl-friend snorted at the unintentional rhyme she made. "Good fucking luck."
❅◦❆◦❅◦❆◦❅◦❆◦❅◦❆
I took a deep breath before tapping in the combination to enter the dorm and entering carefully. I didn't even announce my arrival like I always do.
"Della? Is that you?" Sunghoon called out.
Woo! My eyes are already glossing over! Hold them back, Lala. You're good at this. You've been doing this for years.
"Yes?" I tried to not sound nervous. Trust, Delle, trust. It's okay. They shouldn't be too mad.
"Come here," oh my God, now I'm even more anxious. The one who called wasn't Heeseung. The others have never told me to 'come over' with that tone.
"Yes?" I said in a small voice, barely entering the kitchen. There were only two boys there- Jayhoon.
"Did you skip class?" Jay asked calmly. I couldn't bring myself to verbally answer so all I could do was nod. "Is this the first time?" he asked next, to which I also shook my head to. "As of debut, I mean?"
Does purposefully joining a class late count..?
"I've only joined a class late. This is the first time," thank God my voice didn't shake.
"Often?" Jay went again. Shit- I know being cool is his thing and all but it's making him seem even more intimidating.
Once again, I couldn't bring myself to answer so I just nodded.
"Della, you know that we rarely go to school, right?" Sunghoon stated. "-and we almost never stay for the whole day, right? Not to mention that this is your last year," well here comes the stupid waterworks.
Please don't cry. I don't want them to think that I'm trying to manipulate them.
"Look- I know that you're struggling and trying your best but you can't ditch like that, babe. It's only for a couple of hours," Jay said. "Coming in class late? Well.. fine- at least you weren't called to the headmaster's office, right?"
"I don't give a shit about you coming in late but Della, you really shouldn't skip classes. You need to make up for your lack of attendance and you shouldn't... add more to that," Sunghoon's voice softened drastically when (I'm guessing) he saw my unpreventable glossy eyes.
"Yah! Park Sunghoon!" Jay immediately went into protective mode and got up to pull me to his chest.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to! She doesn't normally cry if we argue," I felt a hand (that wasn't Jay's) brushing through my hair. "Della, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to make you cry."
Guess what this hormonal bitch did upon hearing that? I cried harder, of course.
"Della! Oh my God- I'm so sorry I was really harsh and didn't even ask-" Sunghoon suddenly cut himself off. "Wait... You're on your period, right?"
"Oh my god! Is that why you bailed?! You were in pain, weren't you?!" Jay grabbed my face so I would look at him. His eyes were filled with worry.
"Della, I am so sorry!" is Sunghoon crouching down so he can hug my waist? "Ahh, Heeseung-hyung!"
Two days in and my period had already caused so much dumb drama. What else is going to happen down the line?

I'm Here | Oikawa T.
A/N: Hey guys! I'm back (hopefully for longer since classes are about to end). Anyways, this one's a bit shorter than usual. I hope you like it!
"Yahoo! Knock, knock~ Sorry, practice finished later than usual!" Oikawa called out but was only greeted by darkness, "(n/n)-chan?"
The house was still, not a single noise was heard. Oikawa doubted that you would leave without texting him, it was practically tradition to crash at your place every after school. He looked around, stealing a loaf of bread before heading upstairs. Dim lights could be seen from under the closed door as Oikawa turned the knob, inviting himself in as usual.
"Hey, Iwa-chan told me that-- what are you doing typing, er writing, whatever it is you're doing in the dark?!" He bellowed, flicking the light switch on. A hiss escaped your lips as you momentarily closed your eyes to adjust to the lighting.
"Shut up, Tooru. I'm kind of busy at the moment so if you don't mind, I'd like to finish all of this tonight." His eyes glanced over at the stack of papers on your left as your right hand hovered on top of another, gripping on a pencil tightly. Your left hand was typing away as fast as it could.
"What's all these? Haven't you finished the assignment yesterday?"
"Well, yes but, this one's for the student council. I need to file a report and it needs to be passed at midnight." You then gestured towards the paper, a bit crumpled with the many times you wrote the wrong formula, "And this is for Monday's class presentation."
"And these?" He pointed towards the stack of papers.
"That's…" You blinked a couple of times before responding, "I think it's the ones from the council three days ago that I haven't checked yet. Anyways, I'll handle that after I'm done with this."
"How many hours of sleep did you even get?" He asked.
"What? I don't think my sleep schedule has anything to do with this, Tooru." You answered, not taking your eyes off of your work.
"Just tell me." Oikawa insisted, sitting on your bed as he stared at you.
"Fine. Around two or so? I'll give it a three since I've been running on coffee since I woke up." His brows furrowed, worry etched on his face if only you took the time to look at him.
"That's not good, (n/n)-chan. Come on, I'll finish that." You shook your head, still not lifting your gaze away.
"No way, you had practice just minutes ago! I'm perfectly capable of finishing these within the day if you just so let me. Now shush-- hey!"
"I mean it, (y/n)." You huffed as you glared at him, "You need your sleep. I'll wake you up before dinner."
"What? No! I can't, Tooru!" You protested, standing up from your seat as you felt a slight pain from your head. You shook it off as nothing, "Tachibana-sensei's breathing down my neck saying she'd be the reason why I wouldn't be graduating this year."
"You still have a day to go before classes start again on Monday. You don't need to rush everything today--"
"Haven't you been listening? The report is due tonight. These," You gestured towards the stack of papers, "Might as well be due at the same time. And after this one, I've also got to revise my notes. I'm falling behind, Tooru and I don't want to hear anything from my mother once I move back."
"You won't (y/n), trust me. You're the smartest girl I know in school and probably the busiest one. I'm sure she'd be proud of you--"
"You see, that's not enough. I need to get my grades up, a bit higher than now." You countered. You retorted, huffing in annoyance at how the setter wouldn’t leave you all alone.
"You don't need to. What you need is to calm down a bit. You know that--"
"Will you stop it, Tooru!? You just don't get it, do you?! My parents thought that I would get into Shiratorizawa and what did I do? Fail the exam!" You bellowed, standing up from your seat as the male stepped back a bit. You stood up, voice raised as Oikawa stepped back, "My mom wanted me to at least be at the top during my first and second year, to at least in her words, redeem myself. But I failed on that too. Now, you're telling me to calm down? To take a break? Well, I can't. I've got my family's voices screaming at me saying I should do better! Do you know how--"
"You're crying, (y/n)..." Oikawa whispered as he placed a hand on your cheek, his thumb wiping away the tears. You lightly pushed him back, rubbing your way with your sleeves. He pointed out. A hand lay on your cheek as his thumb wiped away a tear, you pushed him away after, wiping it away with your hands.
"S-shut up. I'm not crying. Just… leave me alone for today, Tooru. I'm really busy and I can't afford to let all of my hard work turn to dust."
"I'll help you."
"For the last time, I--" He cut you off.
"Just let me help!" He was already frustrated seeing the girl he adored so much struggling with her life.
He knew of her problem with her parents and most importantly, he knew the conflict she had with herself. He knew that feeling more than ever. And he didn't want her to feel the same way he did during that time.
And he was afraid that, while it might not cost her a knee, she might lose so much more if she continues. Perhaps, her eyesight or her health. Worst case, her life. And he wasn't going to let her get to that point.
"If Iwa-chan was here, he'd know what to do… but he isn't. And I don't want to disturb him too. I'm just trying my best to help you, because I understand, I understand you the most out of everyone," He walked closer, enveloping you in a hug as the two of you sat on the floor, "You just want to prove something but, you're all fed up about everything. You're trying your best but I guess, to others, that's not good enough."
Tears slowly dripped down from your face once again as you buried your head on his chest, gripping on his jacket, "Why can't you leave me alone, Tooru? I don't care if you get me… I just want to be left alone."
"I'm staying, (y/n) and that's final. I'm not going to let you carry that burden all by yourself anymore. I'm here, remember? I'll help you," Oikawa whispered in your ear as he caressed your back, "You're, besides Iwaizumi, the one I treasure the most. I care about you and I don't want you to suffer like this when I know that I could have tried and saved you from it."
"Why?" That one question made him silent for a while as you looked up at him.
"I… it's because…" He sighed, making you somewhat dread and anticipate the answer at the same time, "I love you, you know that? And while this might possibly be-- ah, who am I kidding? It's the worst time possible to tell you this, I don't think that I'll be able to get another chance like this."
"T-Tooru… I…" You started but went silent as he brought his hand up.
"Please hear me out?" He inhaled before opening his mouth again to speak, "I… I want to support you (y/n), the same way you and Iwaizumi did all these years, especially during the time when I overworked my knee. The two of you were always there. So, let me be there for you too."
"It's just not easy when you've been doing everything yourself for most of your life…" You gulped, avoiding his gaze as you clenched your fists tightly.
"I know. But, I really do love you. And I promise that you'll never regret choosing me unlike how I regret eyeing up girls when I knew that you were right in front of me the whole time and they'll never be you. They'll never be as hardworking, caring and overly kind as you. You're perfect and so much more. Because everything means nothing to me if I can have you to call as mine." Oikawa said, moving a strand of your hair away from your face.
"Even the nationals?" You asked, teasing him a bit.
"I… okay, maybe not the nationals. I still want to beat Ushiwaka and all. But that's besides the point," He shook his head, placing his chin on top of your head, "You're amazing and beautiful, even when you think you're not. And I'm really sorry for confessing at the worst time possible. But, believe me when I say that I love you."
"Why are you… confessing now?" Somehow, this question made him think. It's not like he hadn't practiced his answer in the mirror for a million times, making sure it was perfect to his ears. Not at all. But, given the situation, he'd have to abandon that script and start a new one.
"Well, it just pains me to see you doing the same things I did before, even though your academics and my career as a player are two different things, and I thought that if I manage to successfully tell you how I feel, I could somehow help you carry all of this. Because by that time, I would hopefully be your boyfriend." Oikawa spoke genuinely, moving one of his hands from her back to her head, stroking her hair.
"You don't need to be my boyfriend to help me, you know."
"I know that but you just make it so difficult, argh! Everytime I see you frustrated, I just wanna hug you and kiss you and then take over your work while you rest. But I can't do that as a friend! So… so..." Not that he thought about it, what he said sounded stupid, "Yeah, I know. It's a dumb excuse."
"You're an idiot." The third year laughed out loud.
"I know, Iwa tells me that all the time." You lightly hit his shoulder, hiding the smile that was threatening to show, "At least I made you smile right?"
"I guess you did, Tooru. I guess you did." He hummed in satisfaction before something else you couldn't quite figure out what was etched on his face.
"I'm not going to force you to answer my feelings right away, (y/n)-chan. I can wait." He stammered.
"Why wait when I feel the same way? I love you too, Tooru." He perked up suddenly, making you hide the massive blush on your face.
"Wait, really? You're not joking right? (y/n)?" The setter found you fast asleep, whether or not you were faking it, he wouldn't know. He only chuckled, kissing your head, "Alright… I'll let you get some rest. You deserve it."
He carried you over to your bed, tucking you in. His hand lingered on your cheek, a smile on his face as he whispered.
"Dream of me will you, (y/n)-chan?" Oikawa stood up straight, eyes darting towards your mess of a desk, "Now… which one did she say she needed by midnight?"
Let me hold your hand and carry the same burden you hold. I'll always be here, even if you push me away.

"Good. I can only play therapist for so long," he was relieved to offload the duty. It wasn't that Marlow couldn't talk to him, it was that she only heard from him. His opinions were rather swayed to one side, and maybe his voice wasn't one she really needed here. Sometimes he needed Cordelia to talk him through things, she was his blood at the end of the day. Tommy shrugs when Cage threatens to share Tommy's fowl mouth. "Marlow has heard me say worst things." Most likely about Deacon, but others too. Tommy lost his filter around her some time ago, just as she knew he'd be there to tell him stuff she was holding back from others. Hopefully the later wasn't going to disappear because he looped the younger Newman in.
Tommy was concerned about Cage and Cordelia's big romantic reunion, of course he was, but he was reserve to voice such to the parties directly. That was dangerous, given how little family he had left and how unwilling he was to fall into the same habits his parents had with his sister. She was well beyond grown, having experiences Tommy may never. He hadn't intended for this blow up, trying to be careful with what he said. Unfortunately, his temper did not have such a restraint. It was rather contraditing between wanting and doing, which seemed to be Tommy's regular sparing partner. "God, I'm going to have to go to cook-outs with you all?" It's only just dawned on him that eventually it was going to be like that. If he wanted to be apart of Cordelia's family then that might just come with a group of siblings behind Cage. It felt suffocating, to be so outnumbered by so many, especially when his own wouldn't show up for anything.
Tommy grunts, more than aware they didn't talk. Felt like he'd stepped on a land mine at some point, triggering a serious of explosions between the two of them. This was not going to work in the future, not once his sister was around to bare witness to them. If he lost her to the man before him it would gut him. Tommy makes no promise that this isn't his best, but it cetainly wasn't his worst either. As long as he didn't get worst mabe there was hope to be better. "As long as it's not wasting my time about you and my sister." That felt like a reasonal, perhaps mature, boundary to set. Tommy didn't have a place to say anything about their relationship, so maybe not entering that conversation was a good way to stay away from it. At least when it came to Cage and him. "She doesn't need to know about this," he insists. "It'll only worry her, for no good reason."
He stops himself from rolling his eyes, because no matter how much Cage keeps his family business to his chest, doesn't think that there's a place for outsiders to weigh in, to have a say, he respects the fact that Marlow cares about Tommy. That although he doesn't agree with the way any of it has been handled from the moment that Tommy opened his mouth to ask, that at least it's coming from a place of concern, that Tommy cared about Marlow, too. He scrubs a hand over his face, taking in a breath, holding it, and exhaling, because the last thing that he wants to do is stir up family drama, be the one to unearth some giant secrets that have been kept when he can barely keep his own life under control most days. "I'll talk to her," he relents, but he shoots Tommy a look of pure steel, "and I will tell her that you brought it up, and I'm telling her that you called me a dumb fuck, too." Because if Cordelia could have a protective older brother, than Cage could have a protective older sister. All was fair in love and war, even if it was said in a slightly jesting tone.
"I'm sure you've had your hang-ups, too, I don't blame anyone," he half-murmurs, because everyone had. Cage couldn't imagine Cordelia telling Tommy that she was seeing him again without a moment of hesitation on either end of the phone, some worry that something was going to go wrong, again. He was sure that Cordelia herself had felt it, that was why they had taken things so slowly, why they had taken their time to get to where they were, and he had fought so hard for their relationship up to that point. Still fought, through every fight, every disagreement, and he wouldn't stop doing that, not until he was old and gray, or she told him no. "I'm not pretending to know you. I'm saying that I'd rather have it out here than end up getting into it at some cook-out and have everything turn into an all out Newman-Browning brawl, because I don't want our families getting pulled into it, either."
Cage scoffs when Tommy mentions having a headache, the pressure having been building in his own eyes for what felt like hours, and pinching the bridge of his nose wasn't helping. He let Tommy say what he said, about knowing that he was good to her, treated her right, talked to her on the phone, and how he regretted stopping to talk to him. And while he should have just let him walk off, he let out a frustrated sigh, dropping his head back and then rolling it on his neck. "Yeah, but we didn't talk," he finally relented, "and we should. Not today, and not shouting at each other in a lake, either, that's -- this isn't me at my best," and he suspected, or hoped, that it wasn't Tommy at his best, either. He figured, much like he had told Tommy's sister the last time that they had come down off of a fight, that they just needed a beat, some time to clear their heads before running into each other again. "So next time, let's talk." @tommybrowning

YOU SHINE LIKE THE STARS, YOU LIGHT UP MY HEART // Touta Matsuda x Reader
word count : 2585 genre : fluff <33 (stargazing with this pretty boy!!)
It was a sight to behold—the empty of clouds but shrouded with twinkling stars with the right distance from one another. They were visible in every direction. What a perfect night to stargaze. You had just gotten out the yard of your family's house, accompanied by a cup of hot milk and cookies. Unfortunately you forgot to bring your eyeglasses so you had to head back inside—a surprise welcoming you when you saw someone who didn't belong in your house.
"Touta? What are you doing here?"
That was a little... impertinent. You felt guilty. It wasn't like you weren't happy to see him, you were just shocked. Plain shocked.
"Hey [Y/N]! Haha, good evening!"
He was a bit skittish, maybe nervous. You noticed how clammy his forehead was, with the reason being just finished looking at you through the loophole in the kitchen wall. "It's been a while. You look.. dazzling.. as always."
"If your definition of dazzling is someone who looks like a zombie who's just gotten out of bed, thank you." You smirked, wearing your glasses. "What made you come here anyway? Isn't it late? It's your day-off today?"
"Yup. Thought of visiting a.. friend. You see, I—I really missed you! Work hasn't been the same since you le—"
"Hm, I know that tone. Come on Matsu."
"Hey! It's not that I'm complaining! I still like my job, it's good. But it could be better if you're with us, despite your never-ending bad mood. Hehe..."
"Ooh, so you missed me, that's why you're here. You wanna catch up."
"Of course?" He sheepishly rubbed his nape. You smiled slyly and hummed, trotting back to the yard.
"Come. You're obliged to."
Matsuda followed, hesitant to sit beside you on the grass, only until you pat the space beside you. He kept on constantly shifting his legs as you munched on your cookies, offering him some. You two ate in silence, looking at nothing in particular as the night breeze hit you. The wind's eerily ethereal howl rung in your ears, blending with the faint sound of the television from inside.
He pursed his lips and looked at you, blushing while waiting for the right time to speak. You thought the same thing even without looking at him. After some time, you spoke, immediately cutting yourself off as he did the same. Of course, that's bound to happen.
"You go first."
"You're my visitor. I know you wanna ask me some things."
He fidgeted the hem of his shirt. "How.. How have you been?" You snorted, shaking your head fondly. "I'm fine, I guess. Nothing interesting though, really. No thrill in my new work plus my bitchy subordinates. I swear, Matsu, if I get full, they'll know I'm the worst of their kind."
"Show them who's boss [Y/N]! You do look scary and mean after all.. I mean—"
"Hey! I'm not as mean as I look like! I only am to Satan's spawns."
"I-I was kidding—"
"Chillax, of course."
"But at least you are actually kind and can cope with me."
"And your stupidity." You jested. He flushed pink and frantically shook his head.
"What's your new work anyway? Am I the only one among your peers who doesn't it yet?"
"Nah, they've no idea too. I'm currently working as a hotelier. But I think I'm... Is old-work-sick even a thing? Something like that."
"What hotel?"
"Not too far from the station. You just gotta grab a taxi and voila—you're there. Hm, why ask? Thought of visiting me frequently? Eh? Eh?"
"N-No! I mean.. why not? Just thought of.. visiting you during my free time, just to, you know, chatter with you. Because—because you boost my mood.. in some sort of way."
You felt your heart melt. "Aww, I'm happy. You do the same to me. And you know? I've thought of visiting you in the station as well."
"Really? You should! I—I mean.. only if you're free of course. I've been feeling out of place lately. They're still nice but I don't know. Maybe it's just me..."
"They're preoccupied with work, that's why they barely interact with you. Focus on your work, it'll make you less lonely." You said, plaintive.
"But I am focusing.."
"No, hocus focus! Not focus focus. You know what I mean?"
"That's vague, but okay?"
"And yeah, if I visit you, it won't be very frequent. I'm sorry Matsu, even if I want to. I don't want to get scolded by the inspector or the chief. I don't wanna get you in more trouble too. Even though I'd often, er, miss you, too."
The words came out, unbidden, and you mentally smacked your forehead. His eyes softened as you stared at him. He smiled, and you could tell that he was still restraining himself because even his eyes were smiling, his ears turning red. You found his smile cute and rather infectious. You cleared your throat. He averted his gaze elsewhere, mumbling.
"Why did you have to quit.. I wish you had stayed."
You sighed then pursed your lips. "Me too. But my parents don't like it anymore. Well to begin with, they never liked the idea of their only daughter being involved in a perilous job. But the arson was what really ended it all."
Matsuda looked crestfallen after you'd mentioned it. He clenched his fists. He could still remember that day vividly—the day you almost died. He remembered how he struggled to not look at the criminal because he was afraid he might start thinking of doing unjust things to the person who almost killed you. He sighed.
"I should've stayed with you. That would've never happened."
"No no, chin up Matsuu! The fire didn't even fully touch me 'cause even it was intimidated of how hot I am compared to it." You chuckled, casting him a wistful glance. "I was reckless. My bad. And that recklessness led to that. So take it from me. Think thoroughly before you act. I wouldn't want the same thing happening to you, you reckless bean."
"Noted Madame!" He laughed.
You smiled and looked up the sky, tapping his shoulder moments later.
"Yes, [Y/N]?"
"You stargaze often?"
"Not really. I can't remember the last time I did. Do you like stargazing?"
"Needless to say. I often do it. You should, too." You nudged his shoulder with yours, your proximity making you blush. You both threw your heads back and stared at the stars in silence. You began making random patterns. Matsuda giggled as he found one that looked like the initial of your name.. or as he had tried to convince himself.
"This peacefulness, it's my dolce vita! Nothing but the question of how many stars we could count. I can do this for hooours."
"Your neck will turn numb.. Mine's already feeling a little.. eh."
"There's no need to worry when we can just lie down."
You could see the redness of his cheeks after hearing that. You could almost giggle.
The two of you lay down on the grass, him spacing out a little. His shoulders were tense, his heart banging his sternum that he was afraid you'd hear just how loud it was. But eventually he relaxed when he saw you not minding the proximity at all.
Matsuda looked up, his smile growing larger and larger the more stars his eyes caught. But he had completely forgotten the counting-star-thing you said.
The night was silently still. Television from the inside had been turned off so the only noise you heard even from the distance was the sound of nature. You controlled your breath, afraid that it might disrupt the stillness. You began to grow lethargic from all the star counting. Alas, you gave up and stopped at number 42.
You looked to the side to see what progress had he made. None at all. He was not only staring at you—he was smiling! Looking at you like you are his world!
Once he realized you were also staring at him his face turned beet red. He wanted to look away, but how? There were you, exchanging stares of adoration. Hah. All that was needed was a label.
You had the strongest urge to lean in and kiss him. Kiss him? Oh [Y/N], control your thoughts! Sigh. If nothing would miraculously interrupt the stare session, you'd really kiss him.
Nothing. Nothing. The universe was in favor of you. And you know the drill.
You took the opportunity to face him and lift yourself up from the grass. Your stare could've frozen him on his position. He was going to explode in mushiness. It's almost like the wind was all it would take for your lips to press.
You rested your elbow on the grass and gently caressed his hair. You cupped his cheek with your other hand, your thumb circling it. You closed your eyes, praying you wouldn't fail this one. You did it slowly on purpose, but seemed like Matsuda opposed that. He inclined and cupped your face, kissing you.
But only for a mere second.
Your torso clumsily fell flat partially on him and the ground because of your initial awkward position. And you didn't even feel the kiss because of your forgotten eyeglasses.
"Aha...haha... Uhm—[Y/N]—you okay?? I'm—"
You sat up and boldly chuckled in spite of looking like a four-eyed tomato.
"That went veeeeery well."
"So.. ah.. the thing earlier.. moments ago—" It's as if he was trying to convince himself that it really happened. And he couldn't contain his infectious smile and laughter anymore that you were sure reached the entire neighborhood.
"What waaas that!"
You laid your glasses aside and tossed yourself at him. He fell on his back with you on his top, your legs in a tangled mess. As he wrapped his arms around your waist, he wheezed.
"I hope you're not dumb at this stuff because I hopelessly am."
"Whaddaya meaann?" You were certain he was teasing you. You clicked your tongue.
"....Silly! We're a couple now!"
"HAHAH—wait—you're not joking?? Are you?? No??"
"Do I look like I am?"
"Hah-hah, as in, you're serious-serious? [Y/N]??"
"Do I look like I'm not? Idiot of course I am! You want me to take it back?"
"Nonononono—" you tried your hardest not to cackle, "—I mean of course I do, but—ah! Stupid mouth! Uhm—well—if that's the case then why should I decline when I really like you for—for a long time now!"
"I'm going to pretend to be shocked. But I—I like you too.. I was just waiting for, uhm, you, to, uhm, confess to me, but that sounds so unlikely.. So, thank you for staring?"
He stared at you eagerly.
"Darn it, that wasn't cool! Nonono—you know what I mean, don't you...? You stared at me, and I wanted to kiss you, and then we're here.. And and—"
"I love you!"
Matsuda hugged you tighter as you became stiff and red with what he just uttered. It's either you move and explode or you don't, so you didn't.
I love you ...
He loves you. And he means it.
You squeezed your eyes shut and bit your lower lip, though unable to restrain a smile.
You cleared your throat.
"M-Matsu... Do you want to stay the night here?"
"Oh, no! Actually.. I should be heading home by now. I've got work to do tomorrow morning."
"Awh bummer I forgot.. Well, let me assist you back there."
"Thank you. I'll.. I'll visit you more often, I promise! Ah—ahem! It's one of my duties now that I'm your boyfriend.." He rubbed his nape, shy in proclaiming. You blushed.
"Hey, but you can't just disappear from your work otherwise the chief will beat your ass. Besides, you're a baby! Can't have a baby constantly slacking off his work, can we?"
"Hey! I am a tough police officer! I'm far from being a baby like you!"
"Ohohoho look who's whining like one!"
"I—If you keep saying that I really won't visit you!"
"Fine with me. I'll just find others to hang out with."
His sulky pout fueled your eruption of cackling. You put your head on his shoulder and wrapped your arms around his waist from the side.
"I'm only kidding! Of course I only have my eyes set on you!"
"That better be true.. or I will arrest that man trying to steal my girl." He squished your cheeks. "Oh, and that reminds me—I have something to say to you.."
"I bet on my life it's gonna be one of those pickup lines.."
"No no this is a good one, promise! Ehem. Are you a cr—"
"DON'T! I just know what you're going to say! No no no!"
"I haven't even s—"
"I heard that pickup line way to many times already! Don't you dare!"
Matsuda sighed. "At least I tried.. I just wanted to make you smile.."
You shifted behind him, back-hugging him and patting his tummy as you rested your chin on his shoulder.
"There is no need for that when just seeing you can already make me smile.."
Matsuda grinned, placing his hands above yours.
"I didn't know [Y/N] was so cheesy."
"H-Hey! At least it's not as bad as that 'are you a criminal cause you stole my heart' thingy you were going to say!" You protested. He laughed loudly as a response. "Psh. Time to go home now, officer."
"Uh...?" He looked back at you and your position.
"Go go go."
Still confused, he started walking through the backdoor, with you never letting him go. It was not an ideal position, and when he passed by your parents in the living room to bid them goodbye, they only snorted, unable to believe your clinginess.
Once you two were near the front door, you let go of him.
"Goodnight Touta. Please be safe on your way home. Text me as soon as you get home, okay?"
He opened the door, nodding. "Don't worry [Y/N], I will. Although.. I might be safer if you give me a lucky charm."
"What lucky charm?"
He pointed his cheeks. "...Here, please?"
"Aw I thought you'd never ask!" You leaned closer to peck his right cheek. But instead of his cheek, it was his lips that you kissed. Matsuda had turned his face a millisecond just before your lips could press his cheek. You couldn't help but smile in the kiss. He was, too. Eventually you two pulled away, with triumph written all over his face.
"Touta.. You.."
"Ahaha... Is that the time? Oh, byebye [Y/N]! Thank you for the lucky charm. Goodnight, dream a little dream of me!"
He kissed your cheek before leaving your house, looking back every now and then as he walked away, and still waving goodbye to you. You smiled and shamelessly threw flying kisses at him.
You closed the door once he was out of sight, leaning your back against it dreamily. You thought, that night couldn't get any better. You glanced to the right, your parents whose eyeballs looked like it would come out of its sockets greeting you. You laughed and shook your head before they could say anything, and then headed to your room.
And maybe you did dream a little dream of him that night...

Chapter 1
Present
My cheeks are burning from the salty tears escaping my eyes. A tightening feeling in my chest growing by the minute. The sobs keep escaping me, making my body move uncontrollably. Chocking from the sharp inhales and shaking from the cold temperature. This moment, forever will be imprinted in my mind. Those images I wish I could forget, unfortunately will hunt me till my last breath.
I suppose it's what most people feel too when they lose their parents. I wanted to deny it, but I saw their bodies. They were cold, bruised, bloody and no longer held any signs of life.
The last time a saw them, I didn't bother much to say goodbye to them. Only telling them to enjoy their little vacation in the woods. I was more exited about being alone then making them know how much I loved them. Now it's too late, I'll never be able to see their faces again, hear their voices, feel their arms around me when I need them the most.
I woke up to my cellphone ringing this morning, answering grumpily, thinking it was my mom who disturbed me from my sleep. It was actually the cops telling me to come to the hospital, but I wish it would've been her instead. I wish she could annoy me every morning now, but it's over. She isn't here anymore and neither is my dad.
I'm in my room, at this moment, crying my heart out. I ran out of the hospital immediately after seeing their corpses. They wanted me to identifie them, but I left with people screaming for me to comeback. I guess they probably know from my reaction, that it was indeed my mom and dad.
People keep calling me on my phone, but I don't answer. I'm laying on the floor, looking at the ceiling, waiting for my sadness to subside. I know that won't happen anytime soon, but it's the only way for me to calm down. Being surrounded by people telling me how sorry they are for my loss. A bunch of fake assholes making me feel even worse about the situation definitely won't make anything better.
Slowly my eyes get heavy, I try to fight the exhaustion but fail miserably. I fall asleep on the cold floor of my room, my window open and the sound of rain filling my ears. All of this crying definitely used up a lot of my energy.
The car crash, I wasn't there and I have no idea of what happened. But I see it, something is in the middle of the road and dad just told mom a joke. They're laughing.. until they hit that thing, an animal maybe. It goes right through the window and kill my dad instantly, but as for my mom. The car rolls off the road and fall down a small cliff. Mom's still alive, she's in pain, blood everywhere, she's crying for her husband to open his eyes and answer her. She keeps screaming that she can't feel him anymore? His presence? Her breathing is getting worse the more she panics. Suddenly the door on her side opens and something stabs her in the chest, putting a end to her desperate cries. Blood is streaming down her chin, her eyes looking directly through mine while she takes her last breath.
I open my eyes to see nothing but darkness. I frantically search for a sign of light, I reach around with my hands. My eyes are open wide and my breath shaky, until my fingers brush against an object. I stop every movement, slowly gripping it and letting a breath of relieve when I realise it's my phone.
I turn it on to see a ton of messages and missed calls. One standing out, my aunts name, my mom's sister. I never talked to her, but mom insisted on giving me her number. I look around my room and stand up to look outside the window, only to notice that it's night time. The reason of the darkness and freezing temperature. I close it and turn the lights on in my room. Then I sit on the corner of my bed and hesitate a few minutes while looking at the screen in front of me. My fingers finaly press on call. A few rings later, Aunt Kath's voice is heard. "Y/N! Y/N is it you?"
"Yes it's me.. why did you cal-" I'm cut off by a loud sob. My eyes widen in confusion, but I soon remember that my mom, her sister is no longer a part of this world. I sigh and wait for her to stop crying on the other side of the line. "S-sweetie- where are you? Are you safe? You're not alone ar-"
"Kath, my parents just died. I'm obviously not partying right now, but I'm okay.. I guess.." She stays silent for the next few seconds, my blunt answer probably wasn't expected, but it's understandable. "Sweetheart-I uhh.. you have no one to stay with right? So.. your mom made me your godmother, i-in case anything happened to her.. will you come live w-with me, here in Korea?"
It takes some time to process what just came out of her mouth, my eyebrows are furrowed. Many feelings are fighting to take control of my body, but the one that wins is frustration. "W-what?.."
"She told me to take care of you if she wasn't there anymore... It was just a precaution, but I guess it really happened." She says with a small voice, trying not to upset me further. Judging from my lack of response, she can tell I'm not that excited about this new information. "I asked you, but it ins't really a choice that you have. It's an obligation, you can't stay alone out ther-"
I hang up, not wanting to listen even for one more second. I need some time to think about it. She's right, I don't have much of a choice. I turned seventeen not too long ago and I don't have any family member here. At least none that I know of. I sigh defeated, once again pressing on my godmother's contact.
She picks up not even a second later, as if she knew I was gonna call her back. She doesn't say a word, waiting for me to start talking. I clear my throat after freeing my lower lip from my teeth. "How will I get there? How about my clothes and everything else in the house? My parents' funera-"
"I'll take care of everything you don't have to worry, just bring the necessary and I'll transfer some money on your account so you can pay for your plane ticket. As for the ride to my house, my boyfriend will pick you up" She spend a whole hour explaining to me how everything will go and I agree after hesitating for a while. If my mom gave Kath the role of godmother, she must trust her. So I will trust her too, anyways I don't really have a reason not to. She's been nice till now and she'll even welcome me in her house, she's taking me in. "Thank you Kath, I really appreciate it. I don't know what I would've done if I was all alone."
Days later
I prepared all my stuff, ready to fly to Korea. It took me a while to accept, but eventually I warmed up to it. It's an opportunity for me, to start over. A new life full of adventure, new environment and culture. I want to explore the world so why not start there.
Unfortunately though, I had to say goodbye to all my friends. We cried and spend the last few days together. We promised to text each other everyday and not to forget about one another. Sad thing is, my friends aren't the only ones I need to leave behind. It's hard to leave the place I grew up in, my house, my neighbourhood, my city, everything.
In a few hours, everything I ever knew will all be in the past. Only the memories will stay, the rest, all gone. So the day my parents died, I didn't only lose them, but my life too. The life they gave me. Now, I have to make a new one, by myself.
Landing in Korea
The flight was boring and quite annoying, I didn't know what to do. A baby cried for what felt like years and a couple had an argument at some point. Then the person next to me started to snore so loudly I thought the plane was crashing. I'm glad to finaly be on the ground, the loud voices of people speaking indistinctly seeming to sooth me from what I went through previously.
I sit on one of the chairs in the airport waiting for James, my godmother's boyfriend. He'll drive me to their house, apparently Kath arranged a room for me already. She doesn't have any kid, so she's looking forward to having me over.
"Y/N!!" I jump from the chair almost falling on my ass. I luckily manage to stay on my two feet and not make a fool of myself. Upon hearing a chuckle, I turn around and see an old looking dude smirking at me, maybe in his late forties. "Umm.. Hi can I help you?"
"James, I came to pick you up remember?" He asks while pointing at himself. I'm still unsure, he's looking at me weirdly. I can feel an odd vibe from him. It makes me feel uncomfortable, but I push it aside and nod before following him.
We enter his rusty jeep, the doors creaking when moving. Despite the outside looking a bit ugly, the inside is clean. The only negative point would be the smell, cigarette and..alcohol? Paying a bit more attention to the smell though, it doesn't only come from the jeep. The man next to me is even worst, it seems that he might shower rarely. Subtly, I bring my sweater paws to my nose, looking outside to distract myself.
"So, Y/N! How you holding up?" His loud and deep raspy voice makes me jump for the second time. I turn a bit a towards him not to be impolite and think before answering him. "I guess it's a bit easier then I expected. I didn't think that I'd feel any better, but after a few days it prove me wrong. But I feel bad, to already move on.."
He hums next to me, nodding his head lazily. I wait for him to add something, but the car is filled with silence. I'm relieved he doesn't speak further, not really being in the mood to have a whole conversation, especially with someone I don't know. So, slowly I turn back around towards the window. My mind drifting to the events that happened in just a few weeks, everything is so fucked up. Fortunately, Kath and James decided to help me.
About an hour past since we came out of the airport. We just entered a forrest, James informed me that it'll take a while still. He insisted that I should go to sleep and when I'll wake up, we'll be home. I ponder for some time, but eventually agree. It doesn't take long for me to fall asleep due to not being able to get much sleep in the plane.
I wake up when the car come to an halt, a man's voice coming from next to me. Curses escaping his mouth, confused I open my eyes. The events from the previous hours coming back to me, tears threatening to escape my eyes. My body shaking slightly from fear, uncontrollably.
The ride was a lot longer then what James had told me it would be and I slept, only to be woken up by a hand covering my mouth. Horrible things happened in that car and it wasn't a nightmare, no mather how much I wish it was one. He said he would tell Kath it took us some time because of the traffic and the airport. Then he threatened to kill me if I open my mouth.
I can't let him see me crying, I don't want him to have another reason to hurt me. Despite being terrified and completely drained from energy, I swallow the bill in my throat and wipe the tears from my eyes. While I'm breaking down, next to me James is whistling and turning the car off. Announcing with a loud scream to Kath that we arrived.
"Omg! Y/N! Sweetie you really are here." Kath comes out of the house shouting happily, her arms open, waiting for me to give her a hug. I rush to open the door, but a hand grabs my arm. His nails dig in my skin and I whimper, both from fear and pain. "Remember. You talk, you die."
He puts my bag in my hand, pretending to be helping me. Finally I escape the horrible vehicle and run into my godmother's arms with a heavy heart. The second she engulfs me in her warmth, sobs spill from deep within me. She cries with me but not for the same reason. She cries because she lost her sister and now I'm here. I, cry because I've lost my parents, I lost my house, my friends. Because I've been raped less then an hour ago. Because I feel completely broken and hopeless. The new life I wanted for myself, only starts with even more problems then I had before.

*
Going to a club one week before your exams was probably the worst idea ever. You knew it. Your boyfriend apparently knew it too but still insisted to go which resulted in you going too because come on, you didn’t want to be a party pooper (his words, not yours). You loathed the idea; you weren’t particularly fond of clubs to begin with, half of the time you went for the sake of your boyfriend and half of the time you would sip on your drink at the bar and watch him have fun with his friends, ignoring your existence while you were bored to death.
Just like tonight. Except tonight, there was something in the air, something bad and ominous. Your guts were telling you to go back home, forget about your boyfriend, have fun by yourself instead of staying at the club at two in the morning where half of the crowd was drunk if not completely wasted.
But did you listen to the little voice in your head? Of course not.
From your favorite (not so much) spot at the club, you sipped your second mojito while watching your boyfriend, Hyeonwu, having fun. From the way he was moving, you were certain he had drunk more than he could handle - you sighed at that, knowing beforehand that the night would be very long. You should have stayed home.
But you didn’t and for what? For a relationship that was doomed from the very beginning. Hyeonwu and you were different, too different even. He was outgoing, popular, arrogant from time to time (it stung to admit it to yourself).
Everything you weren’t.
You didn’t like clubbing, you didn’t like being the center of attention but because you liked him, because he chose you, you accepted to sacrifice everything you were for him.
Tonight was one of those nights, your heart was aching, your mind was restless and you couldn’t help but think that this relationship had to stop before you would get hurt. More than you already were.
Ironically enough, Hyeonwu was the one to give you a good reason for finally snapping from your role of the perfect, innocent and docile girlfriend. Instead of asking you to dance with him (you weren’t even sure he remembered he came at the club with you), he found himself another girl to dance with, a girl willing to be what you couldn’t: daring, provocative and would say yes to anything.
You would have accepted to put up with his behavior if only his hands didn’t roam around her body the way it would with you. If he didn’t start kissing her neck as if he wasn’t taken, as if you weren’t in this club too.
You couldn’t do it.
"Excuse me," You called for the bartender. "Can I have a glass of water please?"
He eyed you, annoyed with your request but pushed the glass of water towards you nevertheless.
You didn’t thank him for that considering how rude he was to you anyway, instead you started walking towards them while you still had the courage, while your blood was still boiling and you felt like punching him from stomping your heart.
Once you were close enough, you emptied your glass right at Hyeonwu, he was the one you were aiming, the one who had angered you but the girl got splashed anyway too. They both jumped, the girl shrieking loudly (even with the loud music you heard her) while Hyeonwu groaned and checked his clothes.
"The fuck." He was mad, even in his drunken state he was mad and his eyes found yours quite soon.
A nice boyfriend would have apologized right away; would have felt bad about what he did but Hyeonwu? No. The sight of you only made him angrier.
"What do you think you’re doing, woman?" He growled at you and took a dangerous step towards you.
"Me?" You scoffed at his words. And here you became the villain when really, you were the victim.
And then he took another dangerous step that should have scared you if you weren’t so angry yourself. "Yes, you, Y/N."
"Don’t you dare blaming me, babe." You swore to yourself it would be the only time you would accept to make a scene while being surrounded by strangers. The only time you would want to be the center of attention, because you wanted him to feel bad, to feel humiliated for what he had done.
He didn’t of course.
"Oh please. Always ruining the fun for others. Aren’t you tired?" He scoffed in return.
"Ruining the fun?" You repeated to yourself, words sounding foreign to you. How were you ruining the fun when he was being unfaithful? Certainly your relationship wasn’t what it used to be but still. How could he? By the time you wanted to snap back at him, he was back by the other girl’s side, checking on her.
"You got to be kidding me."
"Hyeonwu." The girl warned him about you getting dangerously closer to them.
In that moment, maybe you had underestimated Hyeonwu’s state. Maybe you had also underestimated your own state. And maybe, finally, you had completely misjudged the person who you used to date. The words died on your tongue as Hyeonwu raised his hand - you shut your eyes tightly, ready for the slap, for the wakeup call.
But it never came.
Surprised, heart roaring in your ears, you opened your eyes but not quite ready to see what was right before your eyes. Someone, in this mess, chose to stand up for you. Before Hyeonwu’s hand could reach your face, a man interfered. A man you couldn’t see except for his back, for his dark brown hair.
Your first thought was that you couldn’t believe Hyeonwu would go as far as try to hit you. Your second thought was about the crazy stranger who, without being asked, chose to stand up for you. It was dumb and dangerous and so not his business but for a short moment it made you feel safe.
“Who the hell are you?” Hyeonwu yanked his arm free from the stranger’s grip, annoyed and more than willing to fight.
But the stranger didn’t seem fazed or impressed despite all the muscles and for Hyeonwu being taller than him. “What kind of man are you? You were about to hit a woman, I couldn’t possibly stand aside and watch it.”
Despite your anger, despite your pain, his voice stirred something inside you; it was strangely familiar and brought a fuzzy memory to your mind. But it couldn’t be, you told yourself. There was no way, so you chose to shove back the memory and concentrate on your present.
“How chivalrous of you but I suggest you to mind your damn business instead of mingling with mine.” Hyeonwu took a step towards him but was quickly held back by the other girl who looked nervously at the two man. At least she didn’t want it to get messier.
“Please don’t.” She begged him.
You shook your head, whispering a ‘no’ and a ‘it can’t be’ as your eyes darted back and forth between Hyeonwu and the girl. And here you thought Hyeonwu was too drunk, thought he had picked a random girl. He didn’t. He so obviously didn’t but somehow, all this time you managed not to see what was right under your nose. Your anger vanished as fast as it came; defeated you had no more strength left to fight Hyeonwu, no more strength left to make him understand how cruel he was to you when all you ever did was try to please him.
Home. You wanted to go home. Except and sadly for you, you lived with him.
“Fine.” You heard Hyeonwu, “Whatever.”
He left. Without a word, without a single glance, making it look like you didn’t exist. You swallowed your tears, your pain, refusing to crumble in a damn club.
Once sure Hyeonwu wouldn’t try to go back on his word, your savior turned to look at you. If you weren’t feeling so down, so empty, you would have realized sooner that the stranger was more familiar than you thought. If you weren’t worrying about your future, you would have noticed how he opened his mouth to speak – you chose the same moment to turn your back and leave. You needed to escape for the sake of your sanity. Or what was left of it.
*
In your misery, you happened to be quite lucky. When the next day you got back to your shared flat, Hyeonwu was nowhere to be seen and for that you were thankful. You didn’t know whenever it was intentional on his behalf or if he had simply stayed somewhere else, either way it gave you enough time to gather all your most important belongings and leave this place.
It hurt. Your heart, your pride, but you told yourself it was for the best.
Mina welcomed you at her tiny place with opened arms. She didn’t ask for details, giving you time to adjust and sort your thoughts; she would listen when you needed it. She always did.
Mina’s flat was small but cozy, filled with plants of all sorts, with fluffy blankets on wooden chairs, on the couch, with candles all around the place. It was the dream of any witches in your opinion, but it felt like home and just like her.
As you came back with your suitcase, you were greeted with a soft meow, followed by Mina’s fluffy black and white cat that Mina chose to call Pie because she kept saying cutie pie (you had rolled your eyes at that).
“Hello there.” You kneeled to Pie’s level and rubbed its head.
“There you are!” Mina came out of the kitchen, wearing a cute pink apron. She beamed at you and showed you the way. “I freed three shelves for you.”
It was sweet and you were grateful to have such a good friend but you didn’t intend to stay. Not for long at least. Hopefully.
“I know that look.” She interrupted your trail of thoughts. “You don’t bother me, don’t worry. Take your time.”
You smiled.
*
By some odds, your big brother was back in the country which was a good thing because you hadn’t seen him for whole two years and living with him could be nice. Back when you used to live together, you were partners in crime, driving your parents crazy. So of course, when you received one morning his message telling he was back, you jumped on the opportunity and asked to meet him.
When you got to the café, it took you less than two seconds to spot your brother. How could you not when few females were openly flirting with him. That brought back some goods memories; you smiled and shook your head in feign despair. Some things just never change.
“I see your popularity is still no joke despite you being an old man now.”
Your voice made him forget all about the women around him. He jumped from his chair, too excited and bounced on you (attracting even more attention on both of you). You laughed at his eagerness as his arms circled tightly your waist – Jimin lifted you from the floor and spun you around laughing along with you.
“I’ve missed you so much!” Jimin put you back on the floor but his arms stayed around you. He was beaming, so happy, eyes twinkling at the sight of you. “Look at you.” His hand found your cheek, fingers stroking gently your skin which brought back flashes of memories of your younger days. “Not a kid anymore, are you?”
Your brother was being dramatic. “Oh come on. I didn’t change that much!” But maybe you did, in a way.
Jimin led you to a chair before taking place before you. “You did.”
“And you’re being dramatic.”
“That too.” He smiled sheepishly at you. “And for your information, I’m not old.”
Such a familiar and warm smile – you had missed him a lot.
For a moment, you forgot all about why you were so eager to see him. For a moment, it was just you and your brother and you wanted to catch up with him. “How was it?” Your eyes shone brightly, curious and excited to hear his stories. “How was England?”
“Rainy. Cold.” He chuckled at that. Jimin put his elbows on the table and rested his head in the palm of his hand. “But it was interesting. I will definitely go back there.”
“And leave us again!”
“Oh you missed me that much, pumpkin?”
“Of course I did! Nobody annoys me as much as you do.”
“Not even your boyfriend? What was his name again? Hyeo-, I don’t remember.” Another time you would have rolled your eyes at him because Jimin did remember Hyeonwu’s name, he just didn’t like him that much. But then again, he never liked your boyfriends. This time, however, you didn’t roll your eyes, you didn’t sigh in despair. No, you flinched and clenched your fists under the table.
Jimin noticed the change in your mood instantly. He frowned, taken aback. “What is it, Y/N?” Jimin asked despite having an idea of what had happened while he was away. “Do I need to punch someone?”
For a short moment, you allowed yourself to smile as you imagined your adorable but idiot of brother trying to fight with Hyeonwu who was much taller and stronger than him. “Don’t be ridiculous.” But it felt nice knowing that your brother still had your back.
“Oh but I’m very serious. “
This time you rolled your eyes. “You’re just looking for a fight.”
Jimin pointed at himself in fake disbelief. “Never!”
But you knew better. “I need a place to live.”
At first Jimin seemed confused and you quickly realized your mistake. Nobody, including your parents, were aware that you chose to live with your, well now ex-boyfriend for the past year. You gulped as you saw Jimin’s jaw twitch, eyes darkening with every passing seconds. To say that your big brother was not delighted would be the understatement of the century. But for once, instead of cowering in fear (because your brother could turn from a ball of fluff to a very angry and scary man), you huffed and chose to ignore his behavior. “Oh don’t judge me, will you? I already have enough on my plate.”
Jimin opened his mouth (probably to say something mean) but close it right away. He closed his eyes, counted to ten and then looked at you again. “Where are you staying now?”
“With Mina.”
Jimin hummed in response. “Good, good. I guess you want to move in with me then?”
He, of course, said yes.
*
Living with Jimin was nothing like you thought it would be. You expected him to set rules for you to make sure you wouldn’t disturb his life too much with your presence. You expected not to see much of him because your big brother was a busy man (and you were convinced it wasn’t only because of work). But none of that happened. No, living with Jimin felt like being back at home, minus parents’ presence of course.
Jimin did everything in his power to make you feel at ease. He let you redecorate the spare room, the kitchen, the living room, not caring whether the outcome would suit his taste or not as long as it meant you felt at home.
You had the best brother in the world.
"Hey pumpkin," Jimin called for you from his room, he was getting ready. "My friends are coming over. I hope you don’t mind."
You scoffed as you leaned against the door, rolling your eyes at him. No, really, why would he think it would bother you when he was being so nice. "And if it bothers me, are you going to take your little boys’ night to another place?"
Jimin froze for a short moment, pondering on your question. You worried for a minute that he took you seriously but he grinned and you relaxed. "I’d have to get rid of you actually. Maybe I’d lock you in your room."
"You don’t have a key."
"I actually do."
Now you were worried which didn’t go unnoticed by Jimin because he laughed, hard.
"I would have found a solution." Jimin finally said and got closer to you. He put his hands on your shoulders and gave it a squeeze. "This is your place too."
You shook your head in half disbelief, refusing to show him how his words made your heart swell with love and pride to have Jimin for your brother. "Ts, so annoying." You smiled nevertheless. "So, who’s coming?"
Jimin’s grin only widened. "You probably remember some of them! We’ve been friends since high school."
And remember them you did.
*
To say that you were mortified at the fact that the stranger from the other night stood in the middle of the living room, talking and smiling brightly at your brother, would be an understatement. Your heart leapt in your throat as one more realization finally dawned on you.
This man. This very handsome, with bright smile man, was no stranger at all. No, this man was no other than Jung Hoseok, one of Jimin’s best friend. But Hoseok wasn’t only Jimin’s friend. No, you remembered all too well how you had felt for years about him.
He was your crush. Your personal sunshine who loved teasing you whenever you were in the room. How you managed to not recognize him that night, you didn’t know and you tried not to think much about it either. For the sake of your broken heart.
The Hoseok from your memory and the Hoseok standing now, despite being the same person, felt extremely different. He was still of course as handsome, as shining but despite his huge smile, despite his laugh, there was something dark about him and you couldn’t tell whether it was a good or a bad thing.
Hoseok’s eyes found yours; something flashed through his eyes, maybe he recognized you as just Jimin’s sister or maybe he recognized you from that night, either way, your treacherous heart missed a beat and you found yourself blushing under his gaze.
Jimin noticed his attention had shifted. One look at you and his eyes shined brighter than ever. "Guys! I think you all remember my cute little sister, Y/N?" Then he double checked you, "Though she’s not little anymore."
"I’m still cute though." You cut him before he could make fun of you. To that Jimin only chuckled.
"Y/N!"
Too stunned with Hoseok, you barely noticed that two other men were in the room and you happened to remember them too. Namjoon and Taehyung - you waved shyly at them.
It was strange to meet them again after such a long time. Despite being curious about them, about what they had become, your eyes were once again on Hoseok and to your utter surprise he was still watching you with a knowing smile. God. You came to realization that you had to avoid him and avoid being alone in the room with him, too scared of what could happen.
*
Through the night, you had found out many useful and not so useful information such as your brother was still a complete dork whenever he was surrounded by his friends, it was as if he hadn’t aged a day (which made you smile fondly at him and joke around). Then, you found that Namjoon became a scientist - not a surprise. The Namjoon you remembered always carried a bag with books too complicated to understand for average people (or ‘for poor mortals like us’ was what Jimin used to say).
Taehyung, and probably to his parents’ dismay, chose the life of an artist; he became a photographer and travelled the world. That didn’t surprise you that much either. You expected him to become a model, nobody could ignore a face like his, but apparently Taehyung enjoyed being the one to take photos.
"Aren’t you going to ask me what I became?" Hoseok asked from his chair, hand on his heart, he feigned being incredibly offended and hurt (apparently, he didn’t like being ignored, especially by you).
You chewed on your lip, weighting the risks; if you snapped at him, Jimin would know you had met Hoseok somewhere and you didn’t feel like explaining yourself but if you kept ignoring him - it would be risky too. So you put on a big, fake smile on your face and looked at him. "What about you, Hobi?"
A glint of something dark and dangerous lit in his eyes, only few seconds and it was gone. But you saw it. You shivered but refused to show any of it. There was no way you could still be crushing on him, you told yourself. But apparently your brain and your body didn’t quite agree on that.
Hoseok chuckled. "I’m delighted to hear my nickname. Nobody had called me ‘Hobi’ for a while."
Jimin cleared his throat but before he could say anything else, Taehyung stepped in. "I call you Hobi every day though."
Ha!
Hoseok shot Taehyung’s a nasty gaze that would have sent any normal person cowering in fear but Taehyung only blew a kiss before winking at you. Well, that was something.
Defeated, Hoseok ran his fingers through his hair. "Yes, that you do. But you’re not a fine lady, Taehyung." Then he looked at him, up and down, "Unless you’re hiding something from us?"
Taehyung eyed him for a moment. "Do you want to see my dick to be sure I’m a man?"
That made all of them relax and laugh - you included.
"So?" You looked at Hoseok, smiling more sincerely at him. "What do you do, Hobi?"
He looked surprised but quickly regained his composure and smiled back. "I actually work with Jimin."
"Poor souls." Was your only comment which made Jimin slap your arm.
*
"You look better." Hoseok’s voice startled you and the cup slipped from your hands but fortunately for you he was fast to catch it before it could shatter. You cursed under your breath; cursing both Hoseok for taking you by surprise and yourself for being so jumpy because of him. "Sorry. I didn’t want to scare you."
You straightened your back with a huff; Hoseok looked too smug for your liking. "The only thing that scares me is your eyes." Which was half true. His eyes did something to you that you didn’t quite like.
"What about them?" But you refused to answer that; there was no way Hoseok wasn’t aware of what he was doing and you refused to play his little game. Which made you wonder, was he always like this?
"What about them, Y/N?" He repeated.
Hoseok took a step towards you and you step back and repeated till your back hit the table and you found yourself trapped between Hoseok and the table. He was playing a dangerous game and you shouldn’t let him but there was something so alluring - you couldn’t resist.
He had his arms at each side of you, hovering over you. This was definitely not the Hoseok you were used to.
You licked your lips nervously, eyes darting back and forth between his eyes and his very inviting lips. You had to be mad to even contemplate the idea of kissing him, it would be so easy. "When did you become so daring?"
Hoseok actually chuckled at that. "I always was. I just didn’t want to scare you back then; you were such a cute little girl."
"You’re just seven years older, I wasn’t a little girl back then." You were but the stubborn part of you refused to let him win and apparently Hoseok realized it too as he laughed.
"The last time I saw you, you were eighteen. Was it at your birthday party?" He got a hold on a strand of your hair, twisting it, curling around his finger, he was lost in his memories - he smiled and looked straight into your eyes. "Jimin got mad at you because you wore an incredibly revealing electric blue dress."
Your breath hitched in your throat. How could Hoseok remember something that had happened five years ago? Something you would have forgotten if not for Jimin’s scolding.
"Can’t blame him. If I was in his shoes, I would have thrown you over my shoulder and brought you back to your room to change." He brought the strand closer to his lips and you swore your heart missed a beat.
Fuck. You were still crushing on him.
"Now, since I’m not your brother, I can tell you that I enjoyed the view." Then, he leaned closer till his warm breath reached your ear. "And I wished I could do more than just watching from afar."
Shit.
But that was it. No matter how much Hoseok wanted to toy with you, there were limits (or more exactly, there was a Jimin) - he took a step back. "Sorry, sorry. I can’t help it; you look just as easy to tease as back then."
That was your wake up call. You jolted from your place and put as much space as you could between Hoseok and you. You looked at him with mixed feelings. A part of you enjoyed hearing those words, those confessions from him, on the other hand his behavior made your blood boil with anger. How dared he?
You stormed out of the room, deciding that there was no way you could deal with this Hoseok tonight. Or any other night.
Later, however, you found a tiny piece of paper along with a phone number and instead of throwing it in the bin, you hid it safely in your sketchbook.
*
"I’m glad to see you’re not doing your puppy eyes to Hoseok anymore." Jimin plumped on the bed beside you, disturbing your peaceful drawing moment. The mere mention of Hoseok made you tighten your grip on your pencil and by some miracle it didn’t break under your strength.
Jimin noticed it and cocked a brow at you. "Interesting." He nudged your leg with his feet to get your attention - you refused to acknowledge his presence if he wanted to talk about this annoying friend of his. "You used to follow me everywhere as long as Hoseok was around."
No, you wanted to protest but then, that would be a lie. You did follow Jimin as much as you could only to be able to see Hoseok (even if half of the time you couldn’t muster the courage to talk to him which only amused both of your brother and Hoseok).
"Back then I thought it was cute. Annoying too, but I couldn’t even get mad with you."
"Is it heading somewhere or?" You finally looked at him and you regretted it instantly. Jimin had a smirk plastered on his face which was bad omen for you. "Whatever you’re about to say, don’t. Get out."
"Oh come on, pumpkin!" He nudged you again. "I won’t talk about embarrassing memories." He promised which was probably not his initial plan. "However, what was this all about with Hoseok earlier?"
Jimin was too observant, you used to know it but somehow it had escaped your mind.
You sighed in defeat, closed your sketchbook. "Nothing." That didn’t sound as convincing as you expected - you cleared your voice, awkwardly. "Maybe I was embarrassed with how I used to be around him."
"Hm." Jimin didn’t sound convinced but shrugged, choosing for once that he could live with it. "Fine." He jumped from your bed, "But just so you know, I don’t believe you."
You simply stuck your tongue out and let him leave.
Yes, it was good living with Jimin.
*
Mina chocked on her Frappuccino, not believing your words. “You’re kidding, right?” But seeing that you kept your face straight, Mina understood that it was not some kind of joke. “You’re not kidding.” She wiped her mouth with a tissue and then really looked at you. “Well shit.”
You snorted. ‘Well shit’ was almost your initial reaction too. Except it had changed. A little. Or not. The moment Hoseok had showed his true colors, you forgot all about your crush and just wanted to smash his pretty little head. That was a lie. You didn’t want to smash his head, you wanted something else but refused to admit it to yourself.
“Is it what people call fate?” Mina wondered out loud, ready to elaborate her theories (to your biggest dismay). “Not only your savior was, is a hot mess-“
“I never said he was hot! I only said I used to crush on him when I was younger.” You regretted your outburst the moment it left your mouth as Mina’s wicked grin only widened.
“Potato, potato.” Mina wiggled her finger at you. “And this same hot stranger is actually your brother’s best friend and the guy you used to crush on. This is fate.”
“This is bullshit.” You snapped back but Mina didn’t seem fazed with your attempt to protest and prove her wrong. Maybe you could try harder but sadly, you knew she was a lost cause and because you did believe it was a rather nice coincidence.
The mere thought of Hoseok made your blood roar in your ears as images from the last time with him flashed through your mind. It had been days and there must be something wrong with you because no matter how hard you tried you would think about him, about how close he got to you when you were trapped between his body and the table.
“What are you going to do about him?” Mina resumed sipping on her drink but she was watching you, gawking at you.
“Nothing.” What could you possibly do? Even if he was Jimin’s friend (which was already a big deal) and even if Hoseok seemed inclined to flirt shamelessly with you, you didn’t know him well enough and you were scared of who he was. Scared but intrigued. And maybe tempted.
“I don’t believe you.”
“You should.”
“Is it about Hyeonwu? It’s over. You need to move on.” And because Mina knew all too well, she raised her hand to stop you from snapping at her. “I know you loved him. And I’m not telling you to pursue that hotmess or even fall for him. I’m just saying that a little distraction can be very helpful. And from what you’re telling me, this dude seems to be into this kind of distraction.”
You thought about this option for a moment, slumping further in your seat. Mina was right, it could be helpful but it didn’t change the fact that Hoseok was Jimin’s best friend; it was too dangerous to consider. You shook your head in defeat but before you could share your mind, two men stepped inside the café.
Two all too familiar men.
Two incredibly annoying men too.
You bit on your lips hard before letting a groan out. “You got to be kidding me.”
Mina followed your gaze, curious at your sudden change of behavior – what she saw did not disappoint her. She easily recognized one of the two men; she had seen some old pictures of you and Jimin and she must admit that you both looked quite alike. The second man, however, she did not recognize but judging from your reaction she had a little guess.
“The blond one is your brother I suppose?” You nodded, half hearing her, your eyes were on them. “And the other one is…?”
“Hoseok.” You regretted whispering his name. It was as if, despite the chattering around you, despite the music, he still heard you – his eyes were on you. Fuck.
But maybe for once you were lucky. Hoseok only winked at you (which didn’t go unnoticed by Mina) and turned back to Jimin who was, surprisingly, oblivious to the little exchange.
Mina whistled before averting her eyes. "I must say, it’s one thing to see your brother in photos and find him cute - but damn girl, he’s hot as hell. Can I have his number?"
"Fuck off."
She laughed.
*
Another day, another party and another regret. Clearly, last time should have been enough for you for many reasons but when Mina begged you to go with her, how exactly were you supposed to say no? She promised to not stay long which you believed her; Mina at least had control over time she spent dancing and drinking and she would never leave you alone unless you asked her to. It was why you said yes.
The regret came once you were inside.
It was a birthday party of one of a guy from your class whose name you had already forgotten but he sure as hell was famous considering how crowded and noisy it was.
"Oh it’s going to be so much fun!" Mina almost squealed beside you. She flipped her hair and winked playfully at you. "Let’s grab a drink babe."
You had to admit that despite the crowd, despite the place being noisy, the music was good and you couldn’t possibly say no to free snacks (and drinks) and maybe Mina’s enthusiasm was slowly rubbing on you as you found yourself smiling.
That was until a very familiar voice echoed from somewhere near you. Mina froze on the spot, two drinks in her hand - so did you. Hyeonwu was at the party which you should have expected. He was a social butterfly, of course he would go to a big birthday party.
You closed your eyes, took a deep breath and counted till ten. Mina got to your side and handed you the drink (that was incredibly needed).
"Is killing still forbidden in this country?" Mina joked though she did look like she was about to murder someone in cold blood.
"Sadly." You patted her back. There was little you could do in this situation; you could be a winner and simply ignore the tightness in your chest, enjoy the night; or you could be a looser by going home and crying the whole night. You refused to give up so easily.
Sadly for you, it wasn’t over.
"What about Y/N?" You heard someone ask about you - this time you felt your heart leaping in your throat. Why did people still need to talk about you, about your relationship? You considered it rude.
"What about her?" Hyeonwu asked sounding particularly disinterested.
"Since I don’t see her with you, I guess the rumors are true - you broke up."
"Not like she mattered anyway."
Maybe you were going to kill him after all before Mina could even lay her hands on him.
"I’m going to kill him." She growled dangerously beside you.
"Don’t. I really don’t want to visit you in jell and bring you oranges."
"I would rather you bring me chocolate."
You both looked at each other before bursting into laughter. Hyeonwu was an ass and he could go to hell; you would not let yourself be weak, you would not let yourself shed any more tear. No.
"I think I need something stronger."
It seemed like a good idea at the moment.
You learnt much much later that it was, in fact, a very bad idea.
Awful idea.
Especially when the last thing you remembered was Mina telling you to slow down on alcohol.
*
God.
You should quit drinking, not like it was a habit of yours but surely you had outdone yourself considering how your head felt; heavy, splitting. In fact, you felt like you were dying.
Your whole body ached, moving in the bed was pure torture.
Bed.
You jolted in the bed and regretted it instantly as the room spun around you and you felt a wave of nausea. You clamped your hand over your mouth; god, you were a mess.
You pushed back the blanket covering your body only to see that you weren’t naked but you weren’t wearing your own clothes either which definitely wasn’t much better. No, you wore a black shirt that was way too big for you, reaching your mid thighs.
Another wave of nausea.
To say that despite you being hungover you panicked at the idea of being somewhere you didn’t know with someone you didn’t know would be an understatement. You took a deep breath, calming your crazy heart and trying to keep your wish to empty your stomach at bay. You forced yourself to replay the party in your head.
The music, the people you had met, Mina, even Hyeonwu and his words you could remember. But you leaving with someone? That was a big mystery. No matter how hard you tried to remember, to even catch a glimpse of a memory - it didn’t work. There was nothing you could do except being, for once, a big girl and go face the unknown in hope that whoever’s place it was, was a nice person.
But the reality that welcomed you once you stepped out of the safety of the room was so much better.
Or worse.
Really, it was all about perspective.
Hoseok was preparing a breakfast for both of you, music playing and he sang along; you thought he was unaware of your presence. Oh how wrong you were. "Sit."
I’m going to be sick. It was one thing believing you ended up so drunk you would leave with a stranger or maybe a fellow student of your college but it was a whole new level of panic to find yourself in Hoseok’s shirt and in his kitchen. ‘How’ and ‘why’ were on the tip of your tongue but Hoseok turned around, hands on his hips he looked like an angry parent instead of - your crush.
Helplessly you followed his order.
"Good girl." Was the only thing he said and then, he resumed his preparation.
How confusing. He didn’t try to mock you or to explain, it was as if all of it was perfectly normal. As if you were friends. As if you hadn’t done something stupid. God, you hoped, no, you prayed you hadn’t done something stupid.
You cleared your throat, quite awkwardly. "How bad was it?" A part of you was scared to know, but you had to know and start somewhere.
Hoseok ignored your question.
It bothered you to no end that he chose to keep his mouth shut when he could find so many reasons to either scold you or mock you. He did none of that. He busied himself with the breakfast and only when pancakes, Nutella, orange juice and coffee was on the table, he finally sat across from you.
“Eat.”
Your jaw clenched. “Are you going to order me around or are you going to answer my questions?”
Hoseok sighed. He put his elbows on the table and rested his head in the palm of his hand. “I don’t think you’re ready for answers to be honest, Y/N.”
It did something to you the way he said your name. It shouldn’t, really, but it did. You gulped, staring nervously back at him – he looked too damn smug (and handsome with all the sun on his face). “It’s that bad.”
“You have no idea.”
“Shit.” You slammed your head on the table, startling Hoseok with your sudden gesture; he was ready to jump from his place and to get to you but then you turned your face to look at him, miserable and ready to curse yourself and your life.
Hoseok chuckled and shook his head in defeat. Cooking had eased his mind and calmed his nerves. But seeing you genuinely upset with yourself was enough to unsettle him and make his anger vanish. “You were a mess.”
You blinked at his words; finally he was willing to make you remember (and if not, explain) what happened. “How bad?”
“Well. According to your friend you got into a fight.”
“A fight?! Oh my god, with who?”
Hoseok bit on his lips, trying hard not to laugh at you. “You punched your ex.”
You stood from your seat too fast and felt dizzy right away. With a blink of an eye, Hoseok was by your side, a hand on your back and steadying before you could collapse on the floor. “Easy tiger.”
“Sorry.” You sat back. “It can’t be. I’ve never hit anybody in my life.” Then you thought about a time when Jimin had intentionally told your parents about your supposed weekend with your friend which was a cover for your weekend with your boyfriend. It was the only time you truly got mad at Jimin and had punched him in the face. “Well, except for Jimin.”
“Shocking.” Hoseok feigned surprise. “He does deserve a beating from time to time.”
Despite your anxiety, you chuckled. “And what happened after I hit him?”
Hoseok’s whole face darkened for a second; it was so fast you could have imagined it. But you didn’t. “According to your friend, he tried to slap you. Again. Luckily for him, your friend got you out of his way before he could do so.”
It was a very odd thing to witness. Hoseok was clearly annoyed, no, angry with Hyeonwu, maybe because he didn’t like men who would raise their hand on women or maybe it was just because of you, either way it was odd but nice. “You’re angry.”
Hoseok didn’t deny it. “I am. But not only with this piece of shit. Last night I was angry with you too.”
“Why me?” You frowned, “Did I do something else?”
Hoseok considered telling you the truth. He eyed you from head to toes, eyes lingering a little longer than acceptable on your bare legs before shaking his head. He wouldn’t tell but his gaze was enough to tell you that you had done something stupid.
“Don’t tell me I jump on you.” You almost begged him.
Hoseok blinked before bursting into laughter. “I would have loved that.”
His response confused you. If you didn’t jump on him (which would have explained his shirt on you) then what was it? You glanced at your hands and then at Hoseok, scowling half angrily at him – he flicked gently your forehead in response. “Really, you don’t want to remember this part.”
Your eyes widened in realization; there could be only one other thing that could embarrass you. “Oh no. Please, tell me I didn’t throw up.”
Hoseok winced at the memory. “You did and then passed out in my bathroom.”
You buried your face in between your hands, wanting the floor to swallow you whole. You regretted bitterly your poor choices in life. First you got wasted, then you thought it would be cool to punch your ex (he completely deserved it). “Wait. How did you know I was at this party?”
“You messaged me.”
“I did what?”
Hoseok showed you his phone and the messages you exchanged in your drunken state. Bloody hell. Second reminder to yourself: quit drinking. You should have called for Jimin but instead you chose Hoseok (and here you thought you would never dare to send him a message). You told him how lonely you felt and that you wanted to leave the party. This was embarrassing, enough for you to hide for a while but you also couldn’t ignore the fact (and it warmed your heart more than it should) that instead of ignoring your texts, Hoseok came for you.
"You could have called Jimin." That was definitely not what you wanted to say. A ‘thank you’ would have been better but somehow you wanted to know why he came.
"He would have asked why you asked for me instead of him." Hoseok sighed, too aware that he was playing a dangerous game that could not end well. "I shouldn’t have left you my number. But you know what? A part of me is happy I did." Hoseok gently took your hand and started rubbing your knuckles with his thumb. "Who knows what would have happened otherwise?"
Your breath hitched in your throat as your eyes darted back and forth between his face and his hand.
This Hoseok seemed so much more familiar compare to the one you had faced last time. He was sweet and gentle and of course a little tease.
"You know," Hoseok started, he watched you trying to figure him out, "If love doesn’t work for you maybe you should try something else."
*
To say that you didn’t think about the morning with Hoseok or his words would be a lie because you did. Quite often even. A part of you clung to the memory of his touches, of his words but another, and the more rational part of you told you to forget and to move on.
You couldn’t.
You couldn’t forget when you saw Hoseok every now and then. Hoseok made it even harder; he would never miss a chance to tease you (whether it was about that day or another subject) when nobody was looking.
One word from you and you could have stopped it. But you didn’t. No. You could pretend you didn’t like all this attention but it would be another lie - you loved it.
You sighed as once more you were thinking about Hoseok. How troublesome.
It was getting late. You should have been home for a while now but because of the project you were working on, you had to stay later than usual. Jimin had promised to meet you after work with cookies which would have been perfect after such a long day - Jimin was late.
One glance at your phone - still no news from your brother which worried you. Did he somehow forget about you? That would be very unlike him but the alternative scared you.
A car stopped right by your side. You glanced at the car but quickly averted your eyes, it wasn’t Jimin’s.
The person inside the car however wasn’t done with you. Winding down the window - you heard a familiar voice calling for you. A voice that made your skin tingle and warm right away.
"Hobi?"
"Get in." He smiled brightly at you, "I’m your driver for tonight."
Oh. Oh boy.
It took you all self control not to show him how you felt about it, instead you hurried to get inside his car and tried to look casual. "Do I want to know why you’re here instead of Jimin?"
"Ouch. A lesser man would have been hurt with your words, princess." Hoseok, however, didn’t seem that hurt in your opinion - he winked playfully at you and started the car. "Jimin is stuck in the office so I offered to pick you up."
"How nice of you, oh my savior." You couldn’t stop yourself from teasing him.
Hoseok laughed and to your utter surprise patted your naked leg. It was such a simple gesture, probably with no intention behind, but your body reacted on it own, burning under his touch. You bit on your lips and tried to regain composure, but your mind seemed to concentrate only at the spot on your leg Hoseok had touched. Geez Y/N, calm the hell down!
"How come you were staying so late?"
You welcomed this distraction with a sigh of relief; if Hoseok noticed he didn’t comment. "I’m working on my art project and I’m a little behind the schedule."
"You’re art major?" Hoseok was surprised for a short moment before memories flashed through his mind. "Right. Why am I even surprised." He chuckled to himself. "I remember you spending hours drawing or painting while we would be playing games in the background. I don’t know how you managed to concentrate with all the noise."
At least he admitted that they were the noisiest persons you had ever met. But truth to be told, it never bothered you. Yes they were loud and would try to distract you when you weren’t even trying to talk to them, but their energy, their pure friendship, the atmosphere around them was something that fueled your inspiration. "I never minded."
Hoseok glanced at you, one brow arched. "Really?"
You nodded, a small smile forming on your lips. "It helped me."
"Well, if you’re ever stuck, just call us. I’ll be more than glad to be noisy." He joked.
"Will do."
*
Asking Jimin about Hoseok without actually letting him know how you felt was tricky. Jimin knew you like the back of his hand which meant that whether you tried tricking him into believing that your questions were out of pure curiosity or not would end the same way: Jimin knowing your tiny crush on Hoseok was not as tiny as you thought.
You took the risk anyway.
While Jimin was drinking his coffee and reading newspaper, you sat in front of him and poured yourself some coffee too. "Hey Jimin," He only acknowledged your presence with a hum, waiting for whatever you wanted to say. "Are you planning to have a boys night soon?"
Jimin lowered the newspaper, checked your face before resuming his reading without giving you a proper answer which made you scowl at him. Was he in a bad mood? "Jimin-"
"Don’t say it." He interrupted you before you could try again, still without looking at you.
You blinked, confused. "Say what?"
"Don’t think I don’t know what you’re trying to ask."
You huffed and crossed you arms over your chest; you couldn’t believe he could possibly know what was on your mind. "I don’t know what you’re talking about." But you did.
Jimin slammed his newspaper on the table (and you winced at his reaction), his eyes dark and threatening were on you. Well, you had completely forgotten that your bother could get quite intimidating when he wanted to. You chose not to cower and just huff one more time in annoyance and maybe a tad of provocation.
"You aren’t asking when I’m going to see my friends. "Jimin pointed at you, "You’re asking when I’m going to invite Hoseok over so you could see him again."
Yeah, ok, Jimin really knew what he was talking about. You bit on your lips, contemplating whether you should be honest with him or tell him he was wrong. You couldn’t muster the courage to lie. "So? When is he coming?"
Jimin groaned. "Y/N."
"What? I’m just curious."
"No, you’re not." JImin’s jaw tensed and for a second you thought all hell would break loose. But to your biggest surprise, Jimin kept his temper in check and simply shook his head. "He’s not the right guy for you."
You scoffed in disbelief at his presumptions.. "Are you telling me this as my brother or as his friend?"
"What’s the difference? I’m telling you he’s not right for you."
"And of course you know who’s right for me?!" Getting angry and raising your voice at him was very unlike you; it took you by surprise and so it did to Jimin as his eyes widened slightly in shock.
Jimin inhaled and exhaled, trying to be the mature one and not to get angry. "I actually do."
You doubt that.
"You want to feel the butterflies. You want a prince, a fairy tale. You want someone who would be willing to sacrifice everything for you. I’m sorry but Hoseok isn’t this kind of man."
The urge to throw the rest of your coffee at him was very strong and so damn tempting. But that would be extremely childish of you and would only prove him he was right.
He was, but you weren’t ready to admit that just yet.
*
Jimin’s words had hit home. He was right about your view and expectations from a relationship and yet what Jimin also didn’t know was that your faith in love had shattered. It wasn’t like Hyeonwu was the love of your life and you expected to get married and have two kids with him. No. But the betrayal left a bitter taste in your mouth. So why not try something else? Something so out of your character? And who would be the best to show you the way than Hoseok?
"I know this look. You’re up to something." Mina nudged you in the stomach making you groan in both pain and annoyance. But Mina only wiggled her brows playfully at you. "What is it?"
"Nothing."
She didn’t buy it even for a second. "Nothing would be you not checking your phone every five minutes as if you’re waiting for someone, probably your very hot crush, to text you back."
You gave her the stink eye. Mina was too observant for her own good. You bit on your lips but chose not to tell her what was on your mind.
Mina huffed in annoyance as she realized that. "Fine. Don’t tell me."
But just like Mina had mentioned, you checked your phone hoping to see a message from Hoseok. You had sent him a message two hours ago, telling him you needed a lift which you didn’t but he didn’t need to know that. Till now, you still had no answer which shouldn’t have bothered you as much as it did. It was just a game, you promised yourself.
Mina grabbed your arm and forced you to halt. "You should probably stop checking your phone and look before you instead." A wicked smile that sent shivers down your spine spread on her plump lips. She pointed at something, at someone and when your eyes found that someone, your breath hitched in your throat and you couldn’t stop yourself from blushing.
Hoseok was leaning against his car, all in black, and looking too out of place in your opinion but so damn hot. The black turtleneck sweater and leather jacked looked all too good on him. He was a walking sin.
And apparently Mina agreed to your thoughts as she whistled and nudged you playfully. "I guess you won’t need a lift after all."
"See you tomorrow." Was the only thing you managed to say, eyes glued to a smiling Hoseok, heart roaring in your ears as you took a step towards him.
"Have fun!" Mina said too loudly for your liking. You hoped he didn’t hear it.
He did. Hoseok’s smile turned into a smirk, but at least he didn’t comment. He opened the door for you like a gentleman. "My lady."
You rolled your eyes at him. Of course he would say something like that.
*
To say that you were nervous would be the understatement of the century.
You drove in almost complete silence. Music played in the background and usually it would have helped you to relax but it didn’t. You kept glancing at Hoseok - if he noticed, he didn’t comment. How exactly were you supposed to bring the subject without making a fool of yourself?
"So," Hoseok cleared his throat to get your attention. "Are you planning to tell me what it’s really about?"
You snapped your head so fast at him, eyes widening. He knew you were up to something. Maybe he knew exactly what you were up to and this thought wasn’t very comforting.
You averted your eyes from his face and looked instead at your curled fist resting on your thighs. You were exactly where you wanted to be and you needed to be brave to tell him what you wanted.
You took a deep breath and looked at him. Confident. "Do you remember what you told me last time?" As you saw him frowning you quickly added, "If love doesn’t work for me I should try something else."
Hoseok’s grip on the wheel tightened. "I remember." Despite that he didn’t look at you or elaborate.
His lack of reaction (you expected him to laugh at you at least) only made you more nervous - you shoved it somewhere far and stayed as composed as possible. "Want to help me with it?"
Here. It was out.
Hoseok pulled over without a word or a single glance at you which quite frankly made you want to jump out of the car and forget everything about your plan. It was stupid, reckless. What were you even thinking?
As the car got to a halt, Hoseok turned to look at you. Really look at you. His eyes were dark and if you didn’t know better you would have thought they were hungry. Sadly, it couldn’t be true.
Hoseok licked his lips as his eyes darted back and forth between your eyes and your lips, giving you a terrible impression that suddenly you were his prey. "Did you call me in hope I’d say yes?"
Yes. Yes. Yes. And yet your voice got stuck in your throat.
At your silence, Hoseok only chuckled and leaned closer so his hand could reach your warm face. Gently, he stroked your cheek. There were things he wished he could tell you, but he couldn’t. You weren’t ready.
"Did you think I would say yes to fuck you, Y/N?"
It was exactly what you hoped, exactly what you wanted. And yet, having Hoseok so close, muttering those words made you gulp, frozen on the spot. It was stupid. You were stupid.
What were you thinking, Y/N?!
Hoseok pulled back. "Thought so."
He took you home without a word.
You had fucked up.
*
Holidays meant more time for you. Meant more time to heal from your break up, more time to work on your project that didn’t go as planned, and sadly more time to think about your humiliation. You couldn’t forget what happened in the car, how stupid you were and how bad you had felt afterwards. Luckily for you, Jimin hadn’t invited Hoseok or any other of his friends which let you all the time to gloom.
In fact, Jimin was barely at home at all which in a way was great for you; you had more space for yourself and at least he wouldn’t know about your mood. But it didn’t mean he didn’t notice.
On the third day of your holidays, Jimin barged in your room, startling you. You were so engrossed in your painting that you hadn’t heard him at all.
"That’s enough." Jimin looked genuinely upset and tired.
You eyed him, a brow cocked at him. "What is enough?"
"You. Do you think because I have been so busy, I haven’t noticed your behavior?" Jimin pointed an accusing finger at you. "Just because you’re alone in there don’t think I don’t know what’s going on in your pretty head."
Jimin approached you and put a bag at your feet.
"What is it?"
"My company is having a party and I need you to come with me."
That was ridiculous. Not because you didn’t like the idea of going to a party (though after your last experience, maybe it wasn’t such a good idea), but you going with Jimin didn’t make much sense. He could get any date he wanted, why would he bother to bring his sister instead? You shook your head in disbelief. "Jimin, you can ask any of your girl friends to come with you."
Jimin huffed, putting his hands on his hips. "I could, but my little sister is being a depressed, ugly monster right now. You need some fresh air."
You tried to hit him for the ‘ugly monster’ but Jimin was fast to dodge your attack, laughing at your attempt. "Get ready. We’re leaving in two hours."
"Would it be enough for you to get ready?" You joked, though it was half true. Jimin tended to spend more time than you to get ready.
He only stuck his tongue out in reply.
*
There was no denying, Jimin’s company sure as hell knew how to throw a party. You didn’t expect much when he asked you to come with him but you definitely blessed him for bringing you along. The venue was beautiful; from lights to the layout of the place, to the music in the background (and let’s not forget about the food and free alcohol). For a second, you forgot about Jimin and let go of his arm just so you could wander and have a better view of the place - Jimin only smiled at that and watched you from afar.
After three days of mopping around, it was good to see your eyes shining brightly and looking forward for something, even if it was for one night. Jimin hoped that by bringing you with him, it would make you realize that whatever was bothering you wasn’t worth it.
"I take it as you like the place." Jimin joined you and snatched two glasses of Champaign. "Here."
You being you gladly accepted. "I do. Are all your company’s parties so luxurious?" Then you glanced at the people around. They all looked classy and beautiful with their outfits and you were more than thankful that Jimin found a pretty hot dress for you - a red, long backless dress with a front split.
"No. This one is more formal but sometimes…It gets crazy." Judging by Jimin’s reaction, you decided that you didn’t want to know about the crazy parties, just because imagining your brother doing something reckless was too much no matter how close you were.
"Come on, sis. Lets the fun begin." He showed you his arm and you gladly accepted it.
*
Jimin was an amazing brother.
You, of course, already knew that, but tonight one more time he proved you just how good of a brother he was. Nothing obliged him to stay the most part of the night with you, nothing. But he did. He drank with you, stole some food with you when nobody was looking (though would it still be considered stealing when he belonged to the company). He joked with you, commented on people. He introduced you to his people, his crew and by the huge smiles on their face, you knew just how much Jimin was appreciated.
You wanted him to enjoy the night. "Jimin," you tugged his hand gently. "Go. Have fun." Which only made him frown. Of course he wouldn’t understand which only made you smile fondly at him. "I think you’ve spent more than enough time with me, you should go and enjoy yourself."
Jimin scoffed. "What makes you think I’m not enjoying myself?"
You rolled your eyes at him. "Oh please. Do you think I didn’t see how you were eying this girl by the window? I’m not blind." You pinched his arm making him yelp and take a step from you. "Go. I’ll be fine. I probably won’t stay for too long so don’t worry for me."
Despite your attempt at convincing him to leave you alone, Jimin hesitated.
"I’m going to get really mad if you don’t go to her." You warned him.
"No you won’t." But he smiled nevertheless. "Fine." He ran his fingers through his perfectly styled hair and sighed in defeat. "Fine. But just so you know, I had fun tonight. It reminded me the good old days - I hadn’t realized just how much I missed those times."
You grabbed his hand and gave it a squeeze - you completely agreed with him. Till tonight, you hadn’t realized just how much you missed spending some quality time with him. "Now go and you better not come back before morning!"
This time, Jimin rolled his eyes at you.
Proud of yourself, you snatched another glass of champaign. You wandered around the huge place without really minding people until, and sadly for you, you bumped into someone you didn’t expect to see tonight because your lovely brain had chosen to forget that Jung Hoseok was also working with Jimin.
You stumbled - Hoseok was fast to grab your arm and steady you.
Bloody hell.
Why.
How could you have forgotten that Hoseok too was working in this company and that obviously he would attend the party was beyond your comprehension. Why did you always forget about the most important things that could have avoided you some unwanted situation?
You had no words. You felt embarrassed and not only because you had bumped into him. No. The simple sight of him (looking absolutely devastating in his black suit) brought back the memory of the very humiliating night that you wished to forget.
"Sorry." You quickly apologized and while Hoseok was too stunned to see you, you ran away.
The moment you reached the stairs, you took your damn heels off. Your feet hurt and with you trying to get away from Hoseok as fast as possible - it hurt. You leaned against the wall for a short moment, taking a deep breath.
"Put those back on." Hoseok’s voice startled you and you almost hit your head in the process.
"Not your damn business." Shit. You wanted to smash your head against the wall, feeling utterly stupid for being suddenly so harsh and so not like you. Yes, you were frustrated. Yes, you were angry, but with yourself.
Hoseok, on the other hand, was stunned but only for a short moment. It wasn’t very often that he witnessed your sassy and angry side but he decided that he liked it. He had two options before him; he could either leave you to your fate and go back to the party (a party he wasn’t very fond of anyway) or he could stay with you. He chose the latter.
Without a warning, Hoseok lifted you from the ground - you yelped in surprise and fear but your arms instantly flew to his neck.
"The hell are you doing?!" You screamed at him.
"Since you’re being so disobedient, I’m bringing you home." Was his only answer.
You couldn’t accept that. You pinched his nape, hit his chest in hope he would let you go. He didn’t and he wasn’t bothered with your antics. Oh no, it amused him. All your attempts at being feisty and strong - he knew he had the upper hand.
"Jung Hoseok, you better put me down now or-"
"Or what?" He cut you before you could finish your threat. "You’re going to scream?"
That was your first option, yes, but you weren’t sure you wanted to attracted any attention on you. You hit him instead in the chest. Again.
Hoseok chuckled and his grip around you tightened. Before you could ask him anything, he took you by surprise by putting you on a car. His car. You blinked, confused, and observed him.
Hoseok didn’t say a word, he simply watched you, licking his lips as his eyes roamed through your body.
Good god. Your skin flushed under his gaze. You were in so much trouble.
"That was unnecessary." You said as you tried to slid from the car - Hoseok was faster. Before you could get back on your feet, he got closer to you. His hands were on your exposed thighs as he settled between your legs. Dear lord. Your heart leapt in your throat at the sudden proximity and the feel of his hands on your bare skin. Just like the last time, it burnt, so bad, so good.
"Hoseok?"
He didn’t answer, too lost in his own thoughts, on the feel of your skin against the palm of his hands. He was supposed to be the reasonable one but the moment he spotted you at the parted wearing this sinful dress, all his resolution vanished - he wanted you. He pressed his head against your forehead, eyes never leaving your lips. It was pure madness. "Tell me to stop, Y/N."
"Wh-what?" You were genuinely confused.
His hands traveled through your body, slowly, gently, feather like touches that sent shivers down your spine and straight to your core. He was toying with you and your feelings - you couldn’t think straight.
"Tell me to stop." His lips were impossibly close, all you had to do was to tilt your head and your lips would finally meet his. "You’re the only one who can stop me. Say no and I’ll stop and bring you home."
You gulped nervously and at the same time hopeful and excited with what he could do if you said yes instead. "And what happens if I don’t stop you?"
Hoseok groaned as he closed his eyes. He imagined many things, especially ever since you mentioned fucking him - he couldn’t stop thinking about it. "Jimin is going to kick my ass."
More confident, you wrapped your arms around his neck, pushing him closer against you. You whispered against his lips, "I’m going to protect you then."
You sealed the promise with a kiss.
*
It was seven in the morning, you were a mess but a rather satisfied mess. Hoseok had dropped you after the almost sleepless night you had spent at his place. You expected him to regret having sex with you, heck, you expected to feel guilty about it too but none of it happened. Hoseok had woken you up with a gentle kiss on the lips, on your cheeks, on your shoulders - he didn’t particularly wanted to part with you but he knew better than to take risks with Jimin.
You pushed the door to Jimin’s place as quietly as you could, hoping deep inside you that Jimin had listened to your advice and spend the night somewhere else while you were supposed to be at home.
On your tiptoes you walked through the place, trying not to knock anything on your path - Jimin cleared his throat.
"Holy shit!" You jumped and slammed your hand over your chest. "You scared me!"
What Jimin was doing awake at this unholy hour (at least for a Saturday) was beyond you. He was at home and you were in trouble.
Jimin eyed you with a quirked brow, up and down, taking notes of your state. You wanted to ignore his glare and run to the safety of your room but sadly, your feet were rooted to the ground, staring back at him. "Hi?"
Jimin shook his head. "So. Whose body am I going to bury in the garden?"
"We don’t have a garden." You answered without thinking - Jimin rolled his eyes in response.
Yes, you were in trouble.
*
What was supposed to be a one time thing with Hoseok turned into something more. Every time he called, you said yes, swearing every single time it would be the last because you were terrified at how he made you feel. But you couldn’t get enough.
You bit on your lips while playing with your pencil. Instead of drawing, in class, you found yourself glancing at your still red wrists - memories flashed through your mind and you couldn’t stop yourself from squeezing your thighs together.
Flashback
You watched, completely bewitched, as Hoseok tied your hands to the bed with a red silk ribbons. With every step he took, Hoseok watched you carefully, making sure he wasn’t overstepping some boundaries, that you were hundred percent comfortable with whatever he was doing to you.
You were.
God, you were more than that judging by how wet you were and he hadn’t even touched you. Another time, another day you would have felt embarrassed about being so aroused but it was Hoseok and if there was one thing he made sure to teach you was that you should never be ashamed or embarrassed about yourself.
Never.
"Such a good girl for me." Hoseok praised you and once he was done with the knot, he pressed a gentle kiss to your wrists. Such a sweet and delicate gesture that sent shivers down your spine and to your core - you pressed your thighs together seeking any friction you could get.
Hoseok chuckled at your attempt but did nothing to ease your aching body, no, instead he pulled back and admired the view before him.
You were splayed in front of him, lips beautifully swollen with all the kissing, pupils blown. It was his favorite view; you being naked and so willing for him, he was getting harder with every look he took.
"So beautiful." His finger trailed along your calf, drawing circles.
"Hoseok." You pleaded, skin on fire. You wanted him to touch you, to feel him.
Hoseok only smiled in response and considered what he wanted to do with you. He crawled, parting your legs in the process. He kissed your calf, a warm and gentle press of the lips that got you to whine in both delight and slight despair. You were torn between the wish he could simply ravish you, or the wish he would take his sweet time with you, torturing your body, your senses - you bit on your lips.
"What should I do with you, baby girl?" Hoseok hummed as he hovered over you. His fingers trailed along your jaw before his thumb was rubbing your lips. He loved your mouth, those pretty lips that could drive him crazy. He would have loved to feel your mouth around his cock, to have you chock around him. Yes, he would love that very much but another time.
Anything, you wanted to say but your words got lost the moment his hands started roaming your body. They were everywhere. On your thighs, your stomach, your breast. Every touch drove you crazier and he knew it. Hoseok knew your body like the back of his hand and he sure as hell knew what to do to make you beg.
"Hoseok, please." You begged, not giving a damn as long as he gave you what you needed. "I need you." You lifted your hips to lean further in his touch but Hoseok pushed you back on the bed. So easily. "Please."
"Such an impatient little thing." He tsked but his smirk only widened.
Before you could whine, his lips claimed your mouth, demanding, wet, intoxicating and brief. You wanted to pull him back, to deepen the kiss but you couldn’t. You pulled at your restraints, the cloth only sank into your skin.
Hoseok’s lips traveled from your lips to your jaw, to your neck, leaving as many purple marks as possible (knowing all too well that you would complain later); your body was a white canvas and he sure as hell wanted to work on it.
His lips followed an invisible path, slowly, sometimes gentle sometimes harsher, you could never guess when he would worship a part of your body and when he would suddenly bite hard enough for you to cry out his name.
Hoseok covered every inch of your body with kisses and by the time he came face to face with your dripping pussy, you were a crying, bothered mess. His lips weren’t the only thing that drove you completely mad. No, the whole time he worked on you, his eyes never left yours and this simple sight made you almost come undone.
"Hoseok." You could feel the tears of frustration at the corner of your eyes; you were too wound up to be able to bear it any longer. You needed him, now.
Hoseok’s grin only widened before he kissed, eagerly, your clit - you threw your head back, letting out a loud moan and pulling again at your restraints. It was so annoying not being able to move freely; you wanted to grab Hoseok’s hair, pull his head closer to your heat and to feel more of him.
Hoseok feasted on you like a starved man, tongue and lips working magic between your legs. Your mind went completely blank, overwhelmed with all the tension in your body, all the fire and incredible pleasure that made you see stars.
"Fuck, Hoseok." You moaned his name over and over again.
Hoseok hummed in satisfaction and gave your clit a particularly harsh suck that made your toes curl. "I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of you, baby girl." He glanced at you and the sight of Hoseok’s glistening lips with your juices made your walls clench around nothing.
Fuck.
"You taste so sweet." He licked his lips. "I should probably kidnap you more often and have my way with you."
Before you could suggest him that kidnapping you whenever he wanted (even if you loved the idea) was a bad idea unless you wanted to deal with a very angry Jimin, Hoseok finally gave you something to fill the emptiness inside you: he pushed a finger against your hole, then a second. Your walls welcomed him eagerly.
"Look at you." He hummed in approval as his fingers stretched you, making you push your hips to swallow more of him. "This pussy is so greedy."
"Hoseok." You cried out, "Please, please."
All he gave you was a gentle press of his lips against your thigh before going back to his work, fingers, tongue, overwhelming you till you couldn’t see or hear anything, till your body tensed before exploding.
But Hoseok didn’t stop. Not when you were pulling at your restraints, not when you were trying to get away from his tongue, your body being too sensitive after your first orgasm of the night.
He was going to be the death of you.
End flashback
*
You swore to whoever was willing to listen (and maybe to yourself too) that this art project would be the death of you. Usually, art wasn’t a problem; you loved painting, you loved drawing, it was your way to express yourself, to immortalize a moment in life, anything. But this project? You couldn’t concentrate on it. You tried, thousands of times but every time what came out of you wasn’t enough.
You came home exhausted, upset and wanted nothing more than a warm meal, a shower and the comfort of your bed. Those plans, however, vanished from your mind, the moment you spotted extra pairs of shoes at the entrance and judging by the numbers, you put two and two together.
A tiny smile spread on your lips as you walked on tiptoes, making sure to not make any noise just so you could check on them without them noticing. And what a sight! Three men completely sprawled out on the couch with fluffy blankets and cushions, wearing pajamas and of course with tons of snacks on the coffee table. You had to memorize this image - discretely you took your phone out and snapped a picture, smiling proudly to yourself. This was perfect blackmail material.
But then, and sadly for your brother, you noticed what exactly they were planning to watch on TV. You gasped loudly, making yourself known. "How dare you."
"Hi Y/N!" Taehyung waved cutely at you and you almost forgot all about your wrath - how were you supposed to stay mad with those pretty twinkling eyes and pretty smile? No really.
You shook your head and averted your eyes, stopping quickly at Hoseok. He wiggled his brows playfully at you causing a hot fire spread through your body - you rolled your eyes at him to make a point. This was not the right time or place to mess with you. When your eyes met Jimin’s, you gave him the stink eye.
"Hi sis."
"Don’t hi me you traitor!" You took a dangerous step towards them and you swore Hoseok tried to bite down a laugh (Jimin nudged him in the stomach for that). "I forgive Taehyung and Hoseok because they don’t know what Marvel means to me, but you," You pointed an accusing finger at him, "My own brother! How could you!"
Yes, you were absolutely dramatic and ready to flip a table.
"Oh come on, Y/N, we weren’t-" Jimin started. He was tempted to fight you, it was just so fun to see you so annoyed, but another part of him was genuinely worried of what you could do.
"We were planning to watch Dr. Strange." Taehyung threw chips in the air and caught it easily with his mouth, that almost distracted you if not for the mention of your favorite Marvel.
Jimin shrieked and grabbed Hoseok to shield himself from your wrath. "I’m sorry!!"
"You’re so dead." You warned him and you would have jumped on him to probably strangle him if not for a very smug Hoseok who was all too amused with your antics. You promised to yourself to deal with him later. Nobody was allowed to mock your love for Dr. Strange. Not even Hoseok. No matter how good his dick was.
"I’m going to take a quick shower and you better wait for me to start the movie or I swear to god you’re all dead." You warned them, eyeing every single one of them. Jimin hid fully behind Hoseok and cursed under his breath. Hoseok shook his head while Taehyung blinked completely unfazed with your outburst.
*
They listened.
Whether it was out of fear or because they really wanted you to join them for their Marvel’s night, they waited for you.
By the time you joined them in your pajamas, Taehyung was wrapped in a blanket, surrounded by pillows, sitting on the floor instead of the couch. He winked at you and patted the empty space beside Hoseok. Hoseok lifted the blanket that was covering him to let you in. For a second you contemplated the idea of sitting beside Jimin instead of Hoseok, it would be annoying yes (because you still felt like beating the crap out of your brother), while sitting beside Hoseok would be too tempting.
You sat, of course, beside Hoseok, your heart and wish to be beside him won over your brain. He covered both of you with the blanket and pressed his thigh lightly against yours. You closed your eyes, thought about Dr. Strange; you had to focus, on the movie, on the actor, on anything except for the warm hand that was suddenly on your thigh.
This was exactly what you had feared. Hoseok had no shame, was fearless and loved to tease you despite Jimin being just beside him, completely unaware of what was going on (luckily for you).
Hoseok was drawing slow and gentle circles on your skin making you shiver and sank deeper in the couch. It took you all self-control to not look at him (and possibly straddle his legs) and pretend that nothing was going on under the blanket- this was torture. Torture like Hoseok loved it, you did too of course.
Not once Hoseok looked your way, nothing on his face could have betrayed his intentions but you felt it. His fingers were gentle, stroking your skin but of course Hoseok didn’t stop; his hand slid higher and right between your legs, fingers teasing gently – you squeezed your thighs tightly, trapping his hand in between.
You can’t. But shit you wanted it so badly. Hoseok pinched your skin forcing you to open up for him while biting your lips in order to prevent any very unwelcomed sound.
But despite how bothered his simple touches left you, you chose to be the responsible one. You took a deep breath and grabbed Hoseok’s hand, giving it a strong squeeze you looked at him, frowning, conveying all your frustration and a warning.
Hoseok chuckled in response.
The little shit.
*
Having sex with Hoseok was great. No, fuck it. It was mind-blowing and you were pretty sure nobody else could ever make you feel as much as Hoseok did. It terrified you but you cherished those moments more than you were willing to admit to yourself.
But having sex with him was, funnily enough, not the only thing you enjoyed. Despite your little arrangement, Hoseok gave you more than you expected from a fuck buddy (except he wasn’t your buddy but rather Jimin’s). He spent times willingly with you, taking you to cute places and date coffees. He would help you to sneak from your place and drive you to places you wouldn’t have visited on your own. Hoseok was spontaneous and you loved it a lot about him.
But the thing you loved the most about what Hoseok gave you, was the hours you would spend laying lazily in bed talking. It was something you expected (if not required) from a boyfriend - it was intimate. But Hoseok gave you those moments anyway.
Just like tonight. You told Jimin you would spend the weekend with Mina, girls’ weekend because with college and all the projects you just didn’t have so much time together anymore. A big fat lie and you would have felt bad about it if not for the fact that being with Hoseok made you forget everything about your guilt.
Hoseok sat on the bed with his legs stretched so you could rest your head on his thighs. His hand was running through your hair, so naturally as if he had done it thousands of times (you wished he did).
"I was wondering," You started and turned your face so your cheek was pressed against his thigh. "Did you know it was me in the club? I mean-"
Hoseok didn’t let you finish your mumbling, a smile spread on his face. "I did. I was watching you from afar for a good part of the night." His fingers kept running through your hair - it felt so good you almost purred. "You looked miserable and I wanted to come and talk to you but I was a tiny bit worried you wouldn’t recognize me." Then, he winked at you, "You didn’t recognize me actually."
You jolted from your comfortable spot, eyes widened in surprise. "You’re kidding."
"Am not." Hoseok flicked your forehead and pushed you back. "How could I not recognize Jimin’s little sister? I used to tease you all the time."
At that you smiled. "You were awful."
"It’s because your reactions were always so endearing, I couldn’t help it."
You huffed in fake annoyance but the urge to smile was stronger.
Hoseok’s fingers moved from your hair to your forehead, then your nose (and he did not missed the chance to flick it playfully) and finally your lips. He parted them gently with his thumb – you let him in. He was completely hypnotized and you could only imagine what was going through his mind (something you would probably enjoy if he asked).
"I know what you’re thinking." You commented and bit lightly on Hoseok’s thumb.
Hoseok chuckled. "If I didn’t know better, I’d say someone is being insatiable."
All you did was plant a kiss on his thigh and feel him tense under your lips.
Too easy.
*
When you got back from the weekend at Hoseok’s place, you were positive that nothing and nobody could ruin it for you. You felt light, happy, relaxed - everything you had been missing out for the past months.
Jimin was sprawled on the couch with his laptop; his hair was a mess. Clearly someone was ruffling his hair too much in frustration which was such a Jimin’s thing to do. You smiled brightly at the sight, the urge to tease him was getting strong.
"Please tell me you’re not working on a Sunday night." You were half mocking him half scolding him.
Jimin, despite being a flirt and a social butterfly, had a bad tendency at bringing his work at home too. At first, it didn’t bother you as much because he found time to be with you (not like he was forced to) but somehow, for the past weeks, he had been working more and more which wasn’t very healthy in your opinion.
Jimin barely looked at you, whether it was because he was too concentrate or because there was something you couldn’t tell but you sensed something was off.
You hurried to put your bag in your room before going back to him and plopping on the couch beside him. "Hello?"
Jimin was so tempted to ignore you, he wanted to ignore you but the need to make sure he was just imagining things was too strong. He shut his screen and looked at you. "Such a noisy little sister."
"We have that in common then." You nudged him with your feet.
Jimin was fast to grab your feet, smirking wickedly. "Oh don’t start or I might tickle you to death."
"You wouldn’t dare!" You gasped despite knowing that he would do it without hesitation. Luckily for you, Jimin seemed to be in a rather merciful mood. He let go of your feet and grabbed instead a cushion that he pressed against his chest and rested his head on top of it.
"I have a funny story for you."
"Tell me."
"So I have a friend and he has a very cute and smart little sister."
"Are you talking about me?" You laughed and nudged him one more time. Jimin only smiled without trying to deny it which was your first hint that you were in trouble.
"Well you see, his little sister that he loves very very much, started going out a lot which is absolutely fine. Great even. But one day she lied and it bothered him."
You would be lying if you said his words didn’t affect you or made your palm sweaty. There was no way the story wasn’t about you, and the lie it had something to do with your weekend. Shit.
Jimin didn’t continue his story; he sat and scrutinizing your face - you wished he kept talking, it would make you less nervous.
"It’s Hoseok, isn’t it?"
Oh. Well, you were in trouble. Big, big trouble.
You let out a harsh breath; what were you supposed to say?
Jimin ruffled his hair before gently grabbing your calf and giving it a squeeze. "I should have known you wouldn’t listen."
"You aren’t angry?" Was the only question that actually mattered. You could deal with Jimin disagreeing with your choice of men or relationship, but you didn’t want him to be angry with you.
"I’m not. I know, shocking." He joked but looked more relaxed. "I can’t say I’m delighted but you’re a big girl and Hoseok is a smart man, I trust him enough not to hurt you."
"He won’t." Not willingly was what you wanted to add.
*
You
[10:05pm]: You might one to reconsider your friendship with Jimin.
Hobi
[10:07pm]: Ok??? Should I worry?
You
[10:07pm]: He promised not to burry you in our imaginary garden.
Hobi
[10:08pm]: Ok. I’m worried.
Hobi
[10:08pm]: What happened? What did I do?
You
[10:10pm]: Well maybe, Jimin knows about us?
Hobi
[10:11pm]: Oh. I’m moving to Alaska. Just in case, you know.
You
[10:11pm]: Tell me you have a tiny place in your suitcase for me?
Hobi
[10:12pm]: For you, always.

Your phone kept buzzing through your last class to the point that you had to mute it completely for the sake of your sanity. Some were messages from Jimin, some from Hoseok (which now that you thought about it should have worried you that those two decided to message you at the same time) - it didn’t matter you had to concentrate.
"When did you become so popular?" Mina asked you as you put your books back in the bag.
"What do you mean?"
"Oh do you think I didn’t hear your phone?"
She was only messing with you. You knew it but couldn’t stop yourself from wincing anyway. "Sorry about that."
"Oh come on! Don’t make that face! It’s not that bad." She nudged you with her hips to make you feel better. "Now, I’m just curious."
That seemed to do it work - you relaxed at her words and remembered that you were supposed to read the messages.
You could have started with Jimin’s messages, after all he was your brother and it could have been urgent (considering he was trying to get your attention, badly, for the past hour) but you of course chose Hoseok.
But when you opened the conversation, the sight of a very familiar bag was not what you had expected. "Oh my god."
Mina leaned to peak over your shoulder - she frowned and pointed at the picture Hoseok had sent. "That’s your travel bag."
It was. Just under the picture Hoseok had texted you about his plan.
"You need a distraction. So do I. P.S: Jimin almost killed me for that."
You couldn’t help but smile. Hoseok sure knew how to take you off guard.
*
Driving for hours with Hoseok was nothing like you had imagined. It was fun and relaxed; he would tell you stories about the place, about the road and you would tell him about some of your own experiences. Some other time you would sing together.
You felt happy. Too happy. But you didn’t let this realization bother you; this weekend was about you and your lack, lately, of inspiration. Hoseok thought that the best way to reconcile with your muse would be the nature - he brought you to his family house that stood near a forest and by a lake.
It was hard to believe that such a place existed in real world - for a short moment, as you walked slowly to the house, you felt like you were finally part of one of the fairy tales you used to read when you were little.
"This is beautiful." You thought out loud.
Hoseok didn’t comment; he agreed, obviously, since the wooden house was one of his favorite destination when he needed to get out of town and forget about his troubles. But now, the beauty of this place was nothing compared to what he felt by just watching you from aside. You looked happy; your face lightened, eyes shining brightly and with curiosity. You were being you, the girl he used to know and not the sad and frustrated girl he had met. This thought warmed his heart.
"You are." Hoseok whispered to himself.
*
"I knew I would find you here." Hoseok plopped on the ground beside you.
You only smiled warmly and kept drawing. You had found the perfect spot for drawing and apparently your muse agreed. Ever since you had spotted the lovely, old willow by the lake, you knew it was the right place and you had to get there as soon as possible.
Maybe too fast. "I’m sorry." You averted, quite unwillingly, your eyes from your sketchbook to look at Hoseok. You had left him do all the work while you went straight to the lake. A tiny part of you felt bad about it but one glance at him and he put you at ease.
Hoseok was smiling brightly. "Not a big deal." He gently took your hand only to interlace his fingers with yours. So intimate, so lovely, you were ready to melt on the spot. And so did your heart.
"I know about your struggles. You told me you couldn’t draw no matter how hard you tried, remember?" He looked at both of your hands, squeezing your fingers while watching them, contemplative.
Odd.
"This place, in my opinion, has some healing effect on people. I hoped it would help you." He glanced at your sketchbook and his smile only widened. "Apparently it did."
Knowing that Hoseok brought you here for the sole purpose of helping you to get back on good terms with your muse completely undid you. You wanted to cry, you wanted to laugh, you wanted to kiss him and all at the same time - Hoseok had this effect on you. He made you feel, so many things at once.
Unable to stop yourself, you put down your sketchbook and instead slowly reached for Hoseok. You wrapped your arms around his neck as you straddled his laps. Nor could you resist the urge to peck his lips - so you did. You pecked his lips. Once, twice. This simple gesture made both of you smile.
"Thank you." You said from the bottom of your heart. And not only for bringing you to this place. No, you wanted to thank him for making you forget of your failures, of your heartbreak.
Sadly for you and despite all Hoseok’s efforts, there was one heartbreak you couldn’t avoid.
Because now that you were in his arms, you couldn’t deny any longer how you felt, what you felt. Hoseok was no longer your crush. No.
You loved him.
And admitting it hurt.
But you wouldn’t let the pain ruin this magical moment that Hoseok had offered you. So instead of dwelling on your feelings, you chose to forget all about it and enjoy everything you could get with him. One last time.
*
You had been ignoring Hoseok.
It wasn’t your initial intention. Hell he gave you absolutely no reason to ignore but you just couldn’t face him after the marvelous weekend in his company. Not when your heart was squeezing and twisting in pain every time he looked at you with this bright smile, every time he touched you, kissed you. It drove you crazy.
You knew it would happen. Jimin knew it too. So when you got safely home and faced him, you couldn’t stop your tears. Jimin had only hugged you and kissed your temples.
*
"I don’t know whether I should be happy that you finally agreed to meet with me or be angry." Hoseok admitted as you took place across from him.
After one long and miserable week, you finally asked Hoseok to meet at a café. Maybe choosing a public place was your way to make sure you wouldn’t break down and just go back on your words - now that you were seeing him (he looked exhausted judging by the dark circles under his eyes) again, you knew it was the right choice.
"I-m"
"Don’t say you’re sorry. It’s not why I came." Hoseok cut you. He was angry and rightfully so but it only made things more difficult for you. "Why did you avoid me?"
You took a deep breath. "I was scared."
Hoseok blinked, confused. "Of what?" He pointed at himself, "Me?"
"No!" You hurried to answer almost jolting from your chair. "God no."
You hated yourself for sounding so weak and indecisive but confessing how you truly felt didn’t come out as naturally as you thought it would.
"I know you don’t want to hear it, but I’m sorry. I didn’t want to ignore you but at the moment it seemed like the best option. I needed time for myself and space to think."
Hoseok considered your words. He had felt confused, angry, heartbroken but now that he heard your voice, he felt just extremely tired. "Why?"
"Because nothing had changed, Hobi." And because I love you. "You’re still you. The handsome man and I’m still this foolish little girl who’s completely infatuated with you. It was stupid of me seeking you to distract me when really all it did was to make me fall for you. Hard." Admitting your feelings to yourself was one thing, admitting it to Hoseok was another and much harder, and yet, it was also a relief.
"What you did for me for the past months, I’m so thankful. You made me feel like nobody else ever did. Hell, I didn’t think I could feel anything like that at all. I wanted to believe this deal between us would be enough for me." You stopped to inhale sharply, "I really wanted it to be enough."
"It was a mistake, Hoseok. But you know what?" A bitter laugh escaped your lips. "I don’t regret it."
"I love you. But for my own safety, I need us to stop before I get hurt."
*
When at two in the morning you heard Hoseok’s voice, your first thought was that you had finally lost your mind. There was no other explanation, right?
You didn’t.
As you got closer to your door, the voice that you thought belonged to Hoseok was getting clearer and louder. It wasn’t your imagination, Hoseok was really here talking with a very sleepy and clearly upset Jimin.
"Hoseok, it’s two in the freaking morning and I’m that close to kicking your ass." Jimin tried to sound threatening but the tired yawn that escaped his lips ruined it for him. He cursed under his breath and couldn’t stop himself before glancing nervously at your slightly opened door.
Did he know?
You kept yourself hidden in the darkness of your room but you listened, heart roaring in your ears, mind going crazy. Why was Hoseok here? In the middle of the night?
"I let her down." Were Hoseok’s first words.
Jimin cocked a brow. "No. She left you."
Hoseok ruffled his hair. "No. I didn’t mean break up." He groaned in despair. Maybe drinking before barging at his friend’s place was a very, very bad idea but he couldn’t wait. He had to let it out even if it was only to Jimin.
"I let her leave." It pained him to say it. "God, this is hard."
"Hoseok." Jimin inched forward. "Were you drinking?"
"What?" Hoseok asked confused. "No. I mean yes, but that’s not the point."
"Man-"
"No. Listen." Hoseok cut him before he could lose it. "You don’t understand. Jimin, I was so shaken with her confession, I couldn’t believe it."
Jimin halted and stared back, face completely blank, contemplating whether his friend was plain dumb or was just too drunk. "The hell? Come on, Hoseok. You can’t tell me you didn’t notice!"
Hoseok laughed humorlessly. "Well shit, Jimin, no I didn’t. Would I have known, I wouldn’t have let her pretend."
Now that took you both by surprise. You clasped your hand over your mouth to prevent any unwelcome sound to leave your lips. This discussion was slowly driving you mad.
"You wouldn’t?"
"I wanted her ever since I saw her in that blue dress." Hoseok admitted and despite his drunken state and all the anxiety, he smiled at the memory. "Don’t hit me please."
Jimin kept his mouth shut but only because he was thinking about you in your room. He knew you were awake. While Hoseok was too busy pouring out his heart, Jimin had heard your tiny, barely audible gasp. Good. At least, and he hoped, it would lead to both of you stopping being stupid and annoying.
"You guys are so annoying." Jimin finally said while rubbing his temples. It was two in the damn morning for god’s sake and he wasn’t even drunk to deal with those feelings. "And I hate you both."
Hoseok tilted his head then glanced nervously at the door to your room. "You’re not hitting me?"
"Don’t tempt me." Jimin warned him. "Though I wouldn’t be sure if I’d be hitting you because I saw Y/N crying or because you dared to wake me up."
*
"So." Jimin, once sure, was free of Hoseok’s love confession, came to your room, leaning against your door with crossed arms. "Are you going to pretend you didn’t hear his confession or?"
You pretended not hearing him, blanket tightly wrapped around you, you simply refused to face your brother. You were embarrassed and confused, and felt warm at the same time. Damn Hoseok and his words. All your efforts to not think about Hoseok were ruined.
Jimin shook his head. Yes, he definitely hated the two of you. "Maybe I was wrong." That got your attention. "Maybe, Hoseok is your prince."
"Oh shut up." You let out against your better judgement.
*
Despite Hoseok’s confession, for once in your life you didn’t act upon your feelings. No, you chose to wait. Not because you were scared of facing the truth (ok, maybe a little bit), but you needed time. Time to concentrate on what truly mattered on the moment which happened to be the deadline for your project.
Most of people around you, including your brother, your family and obviously Hoseok, believed that the project was only about college. Which wasn’t quite the truth. No. A part of the project was obviously meant for college but what you hid from your close one was that a little art gallery wanted to exhibit your work once you were ready.
"When I think you can’t get any more amazing, you prove me wrong, girl." Mina commented, excited as she bounced at you, not caring for the people around you. "Those paintings are excellent. I mean, I’ve seen some of them before but the additional one? They’re mind-blowing."
You hugged her back, tightly, thankful for your friend’s presence.
"I know I’m not supposed to pry but, is he coming?"
You bit on your lips, hesitating. "I don’t know." You were scared to think about it. "I hope so."
But your worries vanished as fast as they came - Hoseok stepped inside the exhibit along with Jimin, looking like a damn model. Of course he would look so good. Obviously, you weren’t the only one who noticed his presence (or maybe you were just too aware because you cared).
Hoseok, despite spotting you right away, didn’t come to you right away. No, his attention was completely captured by the first paintings and you couldn’t blame him. He, out of all people in this room, would recognize and appreciate most your work. Not only because it was your work, but because he would recognize and understand. And he did.
He took his time and you followed his steps, walking behind him without a word. You smiled at people from time to time, but your attention stayed on him and on his face, wanting to not miss any of his reaction, of his emotions.
"I guess I was right." Hoseok stopped at the last painting. It was the lake and the old willow and stars in the dark sky. He turned to look at you, eyes shining brightly. "It helped you. Healed you."
"It did." You admitted and took one more step towards him.
There was so much you wished you could say. So much you wanted to show him. But now that you stood before him, every words, every needs just vanished except one: the need to kiss him.
Hoseok watched you carefully, scrutinizing your face. "You were awake." It almost sounded like he was trying to reassure himself. "Of course you did."
"I did."
"Will you listen to my confession again, then?" Hoseok inhaled sharply as by the end of his question, you had grabbed his hand and thus taking him quite off guard. His eyes averted from your pretty face to your interlaced fingers. God, this touch - he had missed it.
"Well," A wicked smile spread on your lips as you took a final step towards him. You were close, almost feeling his body against yours. "Tell me more about me and blue dress." And as you kissed his jaw, you added, "And what you wanted to do to me from day one."

I'm having a really rough day. Do you have anything nice?
oh my beautiful butterfly. I stopped my reading and wrote this one just for you. I hope it makes you feel at least a little better. Please take care. Stay unbroken for me.
Being a Lightwood Ain’t Easy
“You ready?” Alec knocked on the door.
He sounded calm - but only because he tried his best not to sound as excited as he felt. He had been waiting for this day for quite a long time and he couldn’t believe it was all happening.
There was no response from the other side so Alec knocked again. No response. Maybe he had overslept. Alec did notice that the light in the room hadn't gone out till early morning.
“Alright, I am coming in,” Alec said and gently pushed the door open.
He saw the boy sitting on the bed, still in his purple pyjamas, hugging his knees to his chest. He kept his eyes to the floor and avoided Alec’s worried gaze. Alec didn't know what was wrong but he wished Magnus was here - he would know how to deal with this.
His way of dealing with it would of course to make an ill timed joke. Maybe Alec should try that.
“I know your bapa taught you that being fashionably late is cool,” Alec said with a grin. “But you can't be late to your own rune ceremony, buddy.”
Rafe looked up with an incredulous look on his face, he seemed a little exasperated. Alright maybe Alec wasn't the funny dad. So he tried to use his own tactics.
He knelt down in front his son and scanned Rafe’s face. “I know it is a little scary to get your first rune, but it doesn't hurt as much as you think, I promise. You are a shadowhunter. You will get used to it.”
Rafe looked away.
“What if I didn't want to be a shadowhunter?”
Something in Alec’s heart stopped or broke or burst into a million pieces. He wasn't sure and it didn't matter. He wasn't concerned by the heart inside his body. He was concerned about the heart which was sitting right in front of him.
“Rafael,” Alec said softly. “What's wrong, mijo?”
The boy took a deep breath and looked up at him. “I am not just any shadowhunter, am I?”
Alec cocked his head in confusion.
“I am not just any shadowhunter,” Rafael repeated. “I am a Lightwood.”
Alec couldn’t help but smile a little at that and put his hand on Rafael’s shoulder. “Yes. Yes, you are.”
Rafael pushed it away. “But I am not, aren't I?”
“What do you mean?” Alec asked, genuinely confused.
“I am both a Lightwood and I am not,” Rafael explained frustratedly.
“Rafe, wha-”
“I am the son of the Consul, a hero of the Dark War and the founder of the Shadowhunter Downworlder Alliance,” Rafael said as if he was reciting a practiced speech.
Alec would have blushed in any other situation but right now he was only worried. “Did I do something wrong?”
“No,” Rafe shook his head. “You did everything right and I...I am just worried that I won't.”
“Rafael,” Alec sighed. “You are not me. You don't have to do what I did or do.”
“But it isn't just about you,” Rafael bit his lip. “It’s all of you. Every single one. Aunt Izzy is one of the best fighters in the world. Abuelo was the freaking inquisitor and Uncle Jace...Well, he is Uncle Jace.”
Alec didn't know what to do. In this head, he heard Magnus’s voice when he spoke to Max when their blueberry got too stressed during their magic lessons.
“Smell the flowers and blow the candles,” Magnus would tell their son.
Alec took a deep breath in and let it out slowly.
“Do you want me to tell you that you are going to be great just like all of us?” Alec asked, even though he knew the answer.
“No, I don't want you do that,” Rafael said stubbornly. “Because I know I won't be.”
“Why do you think so?”
“Because I am not a Lightwood, dad,” Rafael almost shouted. “Not really. I am just..I am just a boy you found in the street. So whatever genes that make the rest of you amazing and awesome and cool and perfect - it’s not gonna work for me.”
Alec stared at his son then. Rafael's body was hunched as if he was protecting himself from everything the world was going through at him after today.
It wasn't easy being a shadowhunter - and it definitely wasn't easy being a Lightwood.
Rafael looked at him in the eye then, his lips wobbling a little. “I am scared I won't be good enough.”
He looked at those tiny little shoulders and realized the amount of pressure that sat on them. Alec had once been worried about not being able to fill the shoes of his ancestors - of not being able to bring his parents glory. He had been terrified of not being good enough to bear his family name.
Now his son was feeling the very same. Alec wondered whether all shadowhunters felt this way at one point or another.
“Listen,” Alec said. “Izzy is the best at what she does because she trains every single day. Yes, my dad was the inquisitor but he wasn't perfect. Uncle Jace is Uncle Jace not because he was born to be that person but because he choose to be. And I...I might be the Consul but I was a scared little boy for a long time too.”
Rafael still looked unconvinced and frustrated and stubborn.
“I am not going to say your last name doesn't matter. It does and it always will. We are treated differently than others because of our last name. We have been given chances and opportunities because of our last name.”
“Your tutor,” Raphael said weakly. “He was punished worse...”
Magnus and Alec had decided long ago that it was imperative for their children to know their history - all of it and from all sides.
“He got the worst of it and my parents didn't - because they are Lightwoods,” Alec admitted.
Alec looked at his son and spoke in a tone that Magnus often called his ‘Consul voice’.
“It is an honour to be a Lightwood. Our name has power and privilege,” Alec told his son. “But it is also a responsibility.”
Rafael nodded meekly. “I am responsible to uphold our family name?” his son asked in a quiet tone.
“No,” Alec said. “You are responsible to use this power and privilege to help those who don't have it.”
Rafael looked up then.
“You are not wrong to be afraid, Rafe. You are a smart kid and you are right. People will see you differently and hold you accountable to higher standards. I know it's not fair. Sometimes it can be difficult. People will always expect you to be a certain way because of your last name or your gender or your race or so many other things...But you need to be true to yourself. That’s what it means to be a Lightwood.”
Rafael finally let go of his legs and sat up straight, listening intently now.
“To be a Lightwood is to follow what is right, defend what is good and protect what is innocent,” Alec said firmly. “But most importantly, to be a Lightwood is to fight for yourself.”
“Like you did?” Rafe asked, his lips curving, just a little.
“And like so many others before,” Alec smiled. “Some day soon, your bapa will tell you about other Lightwoods who fought for themselves - Christopher and Anna and Thomas and so many others.”
Rafael actually smiled then - he always liked listening to his bapa’s stories.
“If you don't want to be a shadowhunter, then we will not force you,” Alec said seriously now. “All we want is for you to be happy. To be yourself.”
“I do want to be a shadowhunter,” Rafael confessed in a whisper. “I am just...scared. I am scared that I won't be good enough. I am scared that people will think I am not good enough.”
“I was too, mijo,” Alec said softly, rubbing his son’s cheek. “I sometimes still feel like I am not good enough. When you feel that way, just give your best shot and remember that it is more than enough. It doesn't matter what other people think or say. That’s one more Lightwood trait for you. We don't let other people tell us who we are. We decide it for ourselves.”
“But I do care about what you think," Rafael said in a small voice. "Do you think I'm gonna be a good shadowhunter?”
“100%," Alec said without hesitation.
“How do you know?” Rafe asked skeptically.
“Because you are not even a shadowhunter yet and you are already trying to figure out how to be a good one,” Alec laughed. “A good fighter is always prepared. You are going to be just fine.”
“Because my last name is Lightwood?” Rafael teased.
“Because your last name is Lightwood-Bane,” Alec grinned. “Now I know there aren't many Banes and I myself know only one. But he is the best man I know.”
“He is the best I man I know too,” Rafe grinned. “No offense.”
“None taken,” Alec grinned back.
“Okay then,” Rafael hopped off the bed and walked towards his closet - which was larger than Alec’s own. “Let’s get dressed for my big day.”
“I am afraid my amazing, awesome, cool and perfect Lightwood genes are not going to be very helpful here,” Alec chuckled. “I'll send Magnus.”
Rafael giggled and nodded as he excitedly went through his closet. Alec looked at his son and walked back to the closet and knelt down again.
“I just want you to remember one thing,” Alec stared into his son’s eyes. “You were never just a boy found in the street. I knew you were mine the moment I saw you. I knew you were my baby even then.”
“I know, dad,” Rafael replied shyly.
“No matter what anyone says, you are a Lightwood and you will always be my son.”
Rafael put his arms around his neck and hugged Alec tightly. “I know. I love you.”
“I love you too,” Alec kissed the top of his head and walked back to the door. “Now hurry up and get dressed. Your Consul commands it.”
“Boludo,” he heard his son chuckle and Alec couldn't help but chuckle himself.

Home Sick
Can you be home sick for a person as well as a place?
Taehyung X reader
Warning: fluff slight angst.
It wasn't anything she had said or did it was how she acted. When someone would mention the US part of the tour her eyes would light up and she'd lean in. That's when he noticed it the most. She had this tiredness about her and he knew what that meant. They walked the familiar street to their apartment just holding hands in comfortable silence. "Baby, if you want or need to go home it's ok." Taehyung said softly. She froze on the spot. He turned to her and smiled trying to reassure her. "I know you're home sick." Taehyung explained.
She sighed and hugged him close burying her head in his chest. "Tae, how'd you know?" Y/N mumbled. He laughed and stroked her hair. "I know you, Y/N and I know you miss your family." Taehyung explained. She looked into his eyes and saw the same sickness in his eyes. "You miss your family too." Y/N said. He nodded as they started walking again. "But mine are here in the same country, yours are half a world away." Taehyung said. He opened the door and she laughed as tannie ran to them.
She picked him up and held him close. "You are my family too." Y/N sighed. He shut the door and took his coat off. "Yes, and if you like we can come with you." Taehyung said. She looked at him in awe. "What?" Y/N breathed. "Well at least I can, tannie has to stay with grandma and grandpa." Taehyung laughed as he rubbed him. Her hair had fallen into her eyes as she put tannie down.
She almost jumped in surprise when Tae wrapped his long arms around her waist and nuzzled her back. As his forehead connected to her back she stopped crying. "You have to stay here your promotion isn't over." Y/N mumbled. "So you'll be there a head of me, when we have days off I'll be with you." Taehyung said. She turned in his embrace so she could see his eyes. He was dead serious about it, he would spend those days with her and exhaust himself more just for her.
In that moment new tears formed and something hit her like a ton of bricks. Taehyung saw the light in her eyes dim and then fade out completely. His hands came up and cupped her cheeks. "What's wrong baby, you're crying." Taehyung whispered. "It's always gonna be like this, me missing home and you...shit Tae you can't spend every off day with me you'll exhaust yourself!" Y/N said. Her voice shook as he thumbed away her tears. "I can if I want to." Taehyung said. She pulled away and walked to the other side of the kitchen. Her hands ran into her hair pulling it back. That was how he knew she was frustrated and truly upset.
"Taehyung, you can't do that you'll get hurt or sick, and that will make you upset with yourself because you can't do your best for army." Y/N said. He saw her put her hair up and her eyes looked strong. "Y/N, I love you and I want to spend time with you at your home, to see where you came from and love." Taehyung explained. "Fine but only when you're in my state, I'll be at both shows and then I'll take you home." Y/N said. "That's not fair!" Taehyung whined.
She went to him and kissed him softly framing his face with her hands. "We can face time, Skype and talk, I won't have you exhausted and in jeopardy." Y/N explained. He pulled her against his chest and she smiled. "I love you so much Y/N." Taehyung whispered. "I love you too Tae." Y/N sighed contently. He held her tightly and felt her relax into him. "I need to start cooking." Y/N said.
Tae pulled back and kissed her tenderly. His soft lips glided over hers. She shivered as he backed her up to the wall. As her back connected against the wall she gasped. His tongue thrust into her mouth caressing hers. His hands held her head up as the kiss deepened. Her fingers traveled into his silky black hair tangling in it.
His phone started ringing and she sighed as he pulled away answering it. "Worst timing ever Namjoon." Y/N breathed. She went into the kitchen and started pulling out things for dinner. As she closed the refrigerator door hands gripped her hips and lifted her up. It was so fast it left her head spinning. She was now on the island and he was between her legs kissing her again. His large hands ran over her thighs causing her to shiver. Her fingers buried deep into his hair pulled his head back. "Air." Y/N panted.
Taehyung laughed as she laid her forehead to his. "I know we just got home but we've been asked over to Namjoons." Taehyung said. "Why?" Y/N asked. He smirked and kissed her again. She ran her hands over his shoulders pushing him back sliding between him and the island. "Tae answer me." Y/N giggled. He shook his head and put the stuff back. She watched him grab tannie too. As they walked to the car he took her hand. She noticed his was shaking.
"Taehyung, baby what's wrong?" Y/N asked. He shook his head and brought her hand to his lips. They went to Namjoons and everyone was there. It was like a huge party and Y/N couldn't figure out what was going on. As they sat on the floor in the living room talking and laughing the boys were in the kitchen. "You sure?" Jimin asked. "Positive." Taehyung said. "Then let's go." Namjoon said.
The boys came back and Namjoon turned the TV to the right chanel. "Oh, duh." Y/N laughed. They all waited and as soon as it was announced everyone freaked out. "I can't believe it!" Y/N smiled hugging Tae. "I can't either." Taehyung whispered. They all ate and laughed more. As they drove back tannie fell asleep in her arms.
She sat in her childhood bedroom and smiled happy to be home but she already missed Taehyung. She called him and they talked about what they would do when he got there. She fell asleep on the phone with him not wanting to hang up. She had a blast being home with her family and going to see her friends. But as the days started to get closer to the concert she began to realize just how much she loved him.
"Y/N, you know that if you wanted to spend the rest of the US tour with him it would be ok." Mom said. "I came here to spend time with you and dad." Y/N said. Her mom smiled and put her arms around her. "You love him but I don't think you realized how much until you came home a few weeks ago." Mom said. "I uhmm, I thought being home sick was about you and dad and being home." Y/N murmured. "It can be a person too." Mom said. "You and I talk every day and Skype twice a week." Mom said.
Y/N looked at her mom and dad. "Your mom's right, you fell in love with Taehyung and didn't realize how much until now." Dad said. Y/N blushed and played with her necklace. The silence wasn't uncomfortable but it was way to quiet. "Baby girl, sometimes home isn't a place." Mom said. Just then there was a knock on the door and her dad got it. "Come in!" Her dad said happily.
Her mom's eyes lit up as Taehyung walked in behind her dad. "Who was..." Y/N trailed off. "Tae!" Y/N breathed and ran to him. He held her close stroking her hair. "I missed you too much to stay away anymore." Taehyung said. "I love you so much Tae!" Y/N said looking up. He brushed away her tears. "Then why are you crying?" Taehyung asked. "Because I'm really happy you're here." Y/N said. "I needed to come i have to talk to your parents." Taehyung said.
She looked at him in awe. "Tae." Y/N breathed. He kissed her long and slow holding her head between his hands. He laid his forehead to hers and she shivered. "I'll be in my room." Y/N whispered. He let her go and she went to her room. "What do you need?" Her mom asked smiling. "I would like your permission to marry Y/N." Taehyung said bowing. "I would love to have you as a son, Taehyung." Her dad said smiling. He bowed again and her dad put his hand on Taehyung's shoulder. "Thank you, sir I cannot tell you how much I love Y/N." Taehyung said.

Kinda want to make us happen (so stop smiling at me like that)
"Okay. What would you go for, then?"
"I don't know. Johansson, maybe? I like that one" says Steve, thoughtful, dropping down next to Billy, his back against the boiling side of the Camaro" Ooor-oh! Williamson! That one sounds good. Steve Williamson. What do you think?"
"Weird." Billy taps his cigarette butt with his thumb, blowing the ash, "I think it sounds weird. And I don't know why you want to change it, if all of those rhyme with the one you already have”
Steve rolls his eyes. The screams from the pool come gusty, like the wind that has risen from the east. The kids are already more than fifteen minutes late.
"Let's see. You try. I'm sure you'll have a knack for it"
Billy should get mad about his haughty tone, but what he feels instead is that tone describing a line that travels straight down from the hollow of his throat to just below his navel. The wind has extinguished his cigarette when he brings it to his lips. He throws it. Steals Steve's.
"Hey!"
"I don't know" he hits a puff, pretends to ignore him "I like the one you have. Sounds good. Ha-rring-ton. HaaaarringTON ”
"You only like it because you use it to harass me"
Billy can't help but smile. Wide. Cheeky.
"Maybe"
Billy shouldn't know about this last name thing. It's not like he and Steve have anything remotely close to that kind of familiarity. They are not friends or anything. Most of the time Billy only gets to see him like this, in passing. An almost daily coincidence. On days like today, waiting for the kids around a cigarette. On the days Steve stops by the gas station during Billy's shift to refuel the BMW. When he sees him in the distance, walking by, like those people you see only in the movies. Sunglasses on. White, pristine Nikes, a smile more expensive than all the money Billy will ever have in his hands. Million-dollar Steve Harrington, with his million-dollar smile. Completely unattainable for someone like Billy.
Because, that’s it, people like Steve Harrington happen to people like Billy Hargrove only in passing. And he knows, he knows, but he can't help but force those coincidences a little sometimes, push them into happening, like dropping by the Mall to fetch an ice cream on the Scoops –even if it really does have the best stuff in town–, accidentally catching a conversation ("Dingus. I vote for dingus. That’s your new last name" and "Thank you, Robin. I'm glad you're taking it so seriously" and "I take it seriously. Steve Dingus. Think about it"). And Billy is curious now. As he always is, inevitably, about all things regarding Steve Harrington.
"And why do you want to change it?"
"I'm gonna-" Steve hesitates. Draws a long, curved line with his shoe, staining the tip with the dusty ocher dirt of the gravel "I'm gonna leave"
It's a curious thing. One moment it feels like there's plenty of air filling your lungs, and the next, you have nothing.
"From Hawkins?"
"Eh? No. No” Steve takes a deep breath, “Only from my parent’s house”
Billy doesn't know if when your heart skips a beat you can ever get it back, but if not, Steve Harrington owes him this one.
But he sounds cool, perfectly collected when he speaks again. A long, hard-learned ability.
"And the last name thing?"
“My father– He's always saying this shit,” he sighs, makes his voice even more serious, rounds it in an exaggerated imitation of his father “This –You're not worthy to carry the Harrington name– shit. So."
Billy knows a lot about asshole fathers and never meeting impossible expectations. If he could, he would erase every trace of Neil off himself, even if he's not sure how much would be left after that.
"Yeah"
He hands him the cigarette and Steve accepts it with a small smile.
"It will cost me almost everything I have. But, you know, is worth it"
Billy frowns.
"Don't you have like, a shitload of money?"
"Not if I leave" Steve shrugs, turns his head in the direction of the pool, throat working "If you leave casa Harrington, you leave casa Harrington for good. No car, no inheritance, no nothing. We’re not– in the best terms right now. My father and I"
Billy wants to know about that too–he wants to know everything– but it seems like too much to ask.
Steve's head lulls down. The wind picks up momentum over the curve of his back, ruffles his hair in a whirlpool. He puffs on the cigarette.
It's the closest Billy is ever going to get to his lips.
"Well, welcome then, to bottom of the bottom of the social scale. I’m sure you’re gonna enjoy yourself down here, surrounded by the poor and the unprivileged “
He means it as a joke, but realizes he has screwed up the moment the words leave his lips. Steve’s face twists into something sad and ashamed and Billy is a fucking asshole that needs to stop and think before opening his big, stupid mouth.
"I guess so," he says, lips pressed thin. And God, Billy is like a fucking elephant, stepping on every delicate thing. He should know better than making it worst.
Fuck.
Because is not as he can’t imagine the reason why Steve wants to get away from Robert Harrington. Why he needs to stop being someone so small under such a large shadow. Because Steve it’s not like that. It’s not some selfish and self-centered prick. Steve is caring and protective and so, so good.
And Billy is totally gone for him.
"You can have mine" he says, and immediately wants to smack himself in the head because though you were gonna start thinking before speaking, Hargrove.
Steve looks at him, curious and a bit confused. Billy inhales. Deep.
"Can what?"
"My last name" he says, because Steve is looking at him intently, and there’s nothing he can do now "I hate it. You can have it if you want”
And Jesus, he feels so stupid right now. It’s like he can’t control his fucking mouth when he's around Steve, like he’s still seventeen and trying so hard to impress him. Fishes inside his back pocket for the pack of cigarettes. He can see Steve’s smile growing in the corner of his eye. And ok. That’s ok. Billy is a big-mouthed asshole. But Steve is smiling now, so ok.
At least he made it better.
"I don't think Steve Hargrove sounds very cool either, truth be told"
But it does. It does. And Billy is turning red, warmth spreading through his face, burning on the tips of his ears.
"It’s better than Johansson"
"That’s true" He does this thing he does sometimes, this thing of fixing his eyes on Billy and instantly looking away, elusive, and Billy's body tightens as if ready to hunt him down, thrumming with the blind impulse of reach after him. In this distance, he can see all the moles that dot his skin, delicate and beautiful, the long to touch them hurts at his fingertips.
"How are you going to do it?"
“No fucking idea,” he shrugs. “I guess I can stay at Dustin's for a few days and try to come up with something from there. I don't really have anything planned. I just want–". He doesn't say it, like he’s not able to find the words. Like it’s less formed thought and more feeling. But there’s no need because Billy knows them all. He has an interminable list of them. It starts with freedom, with independence, with never again. He yelled them all at his father when he got away last year. Max is the only reason he hasn’t flown from Hawkins yet.
Well, not the only reason. Just the only that’s not a fucking dream.
“No fucking idea” Steve repeats like an echo, huffs a laugh that comes out ragged. Nervous. Like he’s caught up in that thought. How are you gonna do it?.
And Billy is an adult now. Shouldn’t be losing his self-control around a boy like this anymore. Even if that boy is Steve Harrington. Should be able to stop his fucking mouth for fuck’s sake.
But he asks, anyway.
"Wanna crash at my place?"
“Uh?”
Steve’s brow furrows. Most days it ain’t easy to tell apart the color of his eyes, irises so dark they mix with the pupils, but the sun is sinking low now, golden light brightening them lighter, a soft shade of brown. Billy tries not to think about how impossible he is, how out of reach even like this, so close to him, side to side, their bodies brushing.
"While you figure it out, I mean. Or, you know, I could use a roommate, share the rent, once you regain some money, I mean”
It's a stupid offer and he knows it, because people like Steve Harrington never really happen to people like Billy Hargrove, only like this, the luck to steal a few moments, a coincidence.
"Really?" Steve asks with something completely, disarmingly unexpected. Something like hope.
He gets up, looks at Billy like he’s trying to decipher something.
"No. Not really. Didn't you just hear me, Harrington?” He says, uses his best unrepentant asshole tone. Lights another cigarette “I'm wasn't by any means inviting you or something"
And Steve smiles smiles smiles. And Billy has never-ever wanted to kiss someone so much, and for so long, and be able to hold himself back.
"Jesus, Hargrove" Steve breathes out a laugh, and he's beaming, and Billy doesn't have the slightest idea how he managed to do that "Is there anything you are not willing to give me?"
And he’s kidding, of course he is, but the words hit like a blow, straight to his solar plexus and Billy is not fast enough, he wasn’t prepared. So when he lowers his head, he’s sure Steve has seen it all, right there in his eyes.
Everything.
He lights the cigarette, fills his lungs till he feels them burning.
"You take it or what?"
"I take it" he says. Low and soft like it is something intended only for Billy to hear "And, you’re right, by the way”
“Uh?”
“It sounds better the more I think about it"
(This is how it goes:
Steve never gets to change it.
He moves in with Billy. Needs the money because (“No, no, no. You’re not gonna pay for all our food ¿You want me to die of embarrassment? Wait. Wait. Don’t answer that") so he postpones it because, there's no rush, really (“And you keep calling me HAAaarrrrington, so feels a bit like a waste”) it was one those in-the-heat-of-the-moment kind of decisions anyway so (“No. It was no childish. You’re an asshole. Ok, well. Yeah. That I can accept. It was not the most practical) it ends up on undefined hiatus.
And then they start joking about it. Billy calls him “Mr. Hargrove” (“Good morning, Mr. Hargrove” or “Wanna go to the movies tonight, Mr. Hargrove?” or “You forgot to do the dishes yesterday, Mr. Hargrove, that's five bucks to the forgotten-dishes jar, Mr. Hargrove”) and Steve uses his, when replies, in a fairly accurate impersonation (“You owe like, twenty dollars to that jar, Harrington. So you are not to speak”) and keeps on using it against him on a regular basis (“Gosh, Harrington, you're such softie. And think that you used to be such a hard-ass on High School” every time Max convinces him to take her shopping).
And, truth be told, Steve never hated it that much. Kind of loves it, now that his father hasn’t power over him anymore, now that it's Billy who uses it, rides the letters like a wave, HarrignTON, piling up the syllables like in a roller coaster. When he says,
“I’m glad you’re here with me, Harrington” falling asleep against his shoulder on the couch.
When he says,
“I miss you, Harrington. This is so boring without you” that time Steve took the kids on a camping trip for a whole week.
When he says,
“I can’t stop myself from kissing you anymore, Harrington. So this is your chance to step away”
They hyphenate, at the end.
There are a lot of Hs and Rs and Gs, that they share, and Steve wants them all.
They toss a coin in the air.
“Are you sure you haven’t cheated, pretty boy? You look too smug to not be lying”
“Why would I? But we can switch, if you want to”
“Nah, I think it sounds pretty good, actually” Billy says. Kisses him “Better the more I think about it”)

A little more than an hour later, I make the plane land a few feet away from HYDRA's warehouse.
“So, what's the plan ?”, Bucky asks, looking down at me.
“I don't really know”, I answer, tucking one of my blue strands, one of the results of my mutation, the only visible sign, behind my left ear. So, if you see a girl with Y/H/C hair scattered with blue hair, that's me. “Maybe we just get in, being careful that nobody sees us, take pictures and probably blow up whatever they're up to.”
“Sounds like a plan”, he answers, a half smile on his lips, pushing the button that opens the back of the Quinjet, before going outside, a gun in his hand.
I grab my fight sticks, same kind as those as Natasha has, and follow him. It's a total wasteland. No sign of life except around the HYDRA facility. We silently move to the fence, once there, I take out of my belt a tiny scissor to cut it.
“Lady's first”, Bucky whispers, holding it for me, and I lightly step through the opening I made.
We slowly walk to one of the entries. Bucky slips behind one the guards and knocks him out, while I take care of the second guard, by poisoning him with my fingers with the sleeping poison I have in my body, just by wrapping my hand around his ankle. Well, I hope for him that it's the sleeping poison or in a few minutes, he’s going to be stone dead.
“There are two locks for that door. They have to be open in sync.”
“And they need this”, I say, rising on my feet, with two opening cards in my hands.
“Well done, Siren”, he smirks at me.
“Please, don't call me that, Winter Soldier”, I answer, matching his facial expression.
Siren, that’s the made-up name the Avengers, well Nat, gave me when I was recruited. And she’s right I’m a Siren, the literal definition, or almost. I literally can enchant men and women and kill them. I’m deadly dangerous, even if I look like an innocent and fragile thing, that’s why I have to take suppressors and why I don’t let anyone touch me. The only one that never were affected by my power were my parents and some members of my family, because we shared the same blood.
“Ready ?”, he asks, and I nod, “one, two, three.”
We slide the cards at the same time and the door opens. Bucky looks inside, before nodding towards me, a silent way to say that the pathway is clear. We both step inside and look around, Bucky with his assault gun between his hands, my glowing sticks in mine. We progress in the facility silently, trying to not get detected by HYDRA's henchmen. Bucky opens the path and I follow him, watching our back. We finally step into a huge room, full of alembics.
“What the hell is that ?”, I hear Bucky whispering.
We progress in the room, looking closer at the see-through containers. Some are full of a transparent liquid, the others of some kind of colored gaz.
“I don't know”, I murmur back, “but I'm not really reassured by this.”
A loud bang makes Bucky grab my arm and suddenly, I'm trapped between a wall and his toned, muscular body. I raise my head and my gaze crosses his bright blue eyes.
“What...”
He shushes me by putting a finger on his mouth, ordering me to stay silence. I hardly dare to breath.
“Fuck, can't you be more careful with this ?”, a male voice yell.
“Sorry, it's heavier than I thought”, a second male voice answer. “Anyway, what's in that ? What's that gas ? Is it dangerous ?”
“I don't know, but look it's leaking, you might have unscrewed the plug”, the first one tells his comrade. “Seriously, we were just supposed to take this from point A to point B, but you had to drop it. Now put the cap back on and stop asking stupid question.”
I breath heavily, afraid to be discovered, because, I'm less stealth than Bucky, when he's at least two or three times bigger than me. I can almost feel every muscles of his body against mine through my suit. Bucky must feel my panic because he takes one of my gloved hands in his, plunging his eyes into mine. The two HYDRA hands men finally leave, and he steps back.
“It was a close call !”, he says.
“Yes, thanks.”
I walk past him and try to see if something is written in front of the containers. I can hear Bucky sighing behind me.
“This thing smells strange, don't you think ?”, he questions me.
“No, I don't think it smells weird”, I answer, trying to have a clue on what are the gas and liquid stocked here. “I don’t even smell anything, just HYDRA’s awful smell.”
I continue to look around. There's no clue about anything. Suddenly, a pair of lips are attached to the nape of my neck.
“What the hell are you doing Barnes ?!”
“You smell so good. You're intoxicating me”, he says, burying his nose in my hair.
“Let go of me”, I hiss, trying to unhook his arms that he snaked around me.
“Come on”, he adds, “I want it and I know you do too”, he slide his left hand to my arm in order to lift my sleeve to touch my skin.
“Stop it !”, I clench my teeth, knowing that I can’t get rid of the man who at least weight three or four times my own weight.
“You’re driving me crazy, that smell, of yours, I can’t resist it.”
And it clicks in my head, the last time I heard this was before I had suppressors, before those who worked, a scientist said those exact words to me, and everything his clear. That gas is made of either my blood, either my cells. This has exactly the same power as I do, the one that makes everyone uncontrollably attracted to me. I try to make up a plan to get rid of Bucky without hurting, or worst, kill him. The dots of my brain connect quickly with an idea.
“Actually”, I tell him, turning in his arms, “I think you have read my mind and you and I can have a little fun, don’t you think ?”, I wink at him seductively, sliding my hands on his strong arms. “So first, why don’t you kiss me”, I whisper, approaching my face to his, my lips grazing his.
My left hand stays on his right arm while my left hand finds its way on the back of his neck. He leans towards me and I push a little on his nape to force him to lock his mouth to mine. His lips are soft against mine and I’m surprised about this, I never thought that Bucky Barnes would have such soft lips. His lips are moving against mine and as I did for the HYDRA hand man, I concentrate to make him sleep, or Steve Rogers will have one more reason to hate me. Well, I think that the fact that I put his best friend to sleep by a kiss during a mission might be one too. After a few seconds, I feel him stumble towards my body. I try my best to catch him before he falls flat on his face.
“Sorry Barnes”, I murmur, “but you didn’t give me a choice.”
I manage to drag him behind one of the alembics, praying that no one will find him or that he will wake up too soon and try to jump on me again. I pull out of my pouches a few bombs and their detonators. I start to place them around the tanks, moving as fast as I can and program them. Five minutes should be enough for me to pull Bucky outside and go back to the Quinjet.
“Ok, now let’s take care of you 1940’s man”, I state, turning to where I left Bucky before setting my bombs.
I grab his metal arm and start to haul him to the Quinjet. He is heavy and I do this task as fast and as quietly as I can. I finally manage to go back to the fence and push the soldier through it. I take a look at the device connected to the bombs’ detonators, I have a few seconds now before the bombs explode. I go back to my burden and pull him again to the jet. I don’t see on the way back the two men we knocked out when we arrived, and to be honest, I don’t really have time to think about it. I don’t even reach the jet’s door when the warehouse explodes throwing me a few meters away from Bucky’s sleeping form. I land badly on my right hand felling it twist under my weight, and blood flowing from my left hand. Maybe I shouldn’t have put so many explosive blocs, but I wanted to be sure that everything would be destroyed. I can’t straggle, I have to put Bucky in the jet and leave that place before HYDRA’s men come after us. I go back on my feet and manage, clenching my teeth because of the pain, to pull the Winter Soldier again, the blood of my hand drenching his sleeve. I open the jet’s door with the button on my belt, bless Tony for that, and pull a little more my sleeping partner. I abandon him on the ramp, heavily panting while the door closes. I can’t even breathe for a second because I know that we have to leave now. I take back my place behind the commands and take off.

My fucking life is a mess. My mom expects me to take care of my 8 y.o cousin and she's going to leave me home alone. She keeps nagging for me to tutor him, and when I've had enough, she keeps blaming me like, "Your cousin loves you! Why don't you love him back?" I love him, don't get me wrong, but I can't deal with an over-extroverted, curious child. His talking wears me out mentally, it was much more easier when we were young and both stupid. I keep saying I need a break, but end up getting reprimanded. She wants me to sleep with him, to accompany him, but to tell you the truth– I'm on Satan's Waterfall rn (if you know what I mean 🔴) and I can't risk that sort of thing. I'm barely even 12, and I can't handle that sort of peer pressure.
Even my grandma is nagging me to teach him, and he's a good boy with good intentions but he's... a handful, to say the least.
I'm an introvert who's prone to overthinking and I prefer being alone rather than crowds (they wear me out) and plus that kid. I'm totally fucked. The worst thing is that he's staying over. Hopely it's only for a day or so I'll probably cut myself with a paper clip. (I use a paperclip because it prevents me from crying and it doesn't really hurt)
I am sorry to hear your winter holidays have turned out to be so very stressful.
There is a reason, in Hogwarts, that Prefects are not appointed until fifth year. Being responsible for the well-being of the younger students is a difficult task. I personally find it unwise to expect a second year to be a full time babysitter to a younger cousin, but it does happen. Bella is the eldest of three, and still speaks of how she was forever dealing with the stresses of having Narcissa in tow. Family is highly prized in pureblood families, and no doubt the elders in yours are attempting to force some of this responsibility and connection upon you and your cousin. I expect they reason this will help the next generation forge their loyalties and bonds - and while this is correct to some degree, I do admit some families get a bit carried away.
Take solace that this is a temporary arrangement. it looks like nothing can be done this time around, but perhaps afterwards, you can speak with your mother and let her know that you found the complete lack of adult supervision to be stressful, that while you love your cousin dearly, you were overwhelmed by the responsibility. Frame the question as a request for assistance to alleviate the burden. Remind her that you are only a second year - just three or four years ago, you would have needed to be watched, rather than be the watcher.
What truly concerns me is that you have turned to harming yourself as a coping mechanism. I do not know your Hogwarts house, but in Slytherin, we take self-preservation very seriously. Our bodies our our vessels, our very selves. And yes, while I may have altered mine with magic (not without its consequences!) I have found it generally illogical to harm oneself. You will be needing your body, you know. People seem to take their physical form for granted, but I know better, as I - ah. I am rambling now, ruminating on a deeply personal trauma, I suppose.
What I am trying to say is that you seem to be experiencing a great deal of overwhelm, and feel as though harm is your only option. It is not. there are ways to address this overwhelm directly, which will result in a better outcome for you in the long term. If you cannot speak freely to your parents about this impulse, I implore you to speak with a trusted professor, extended relative, or any other trusted adult you know in real life. (Due to the pandemic, you need not approach them in person - zoom, text, vine, snapface, owl - any of that would work). Just as long as they are a person you know and trust, as I, the Dark Lord, am not an adequate substitute for a support system. I am far too busy working towards total dominion over Britain, you see. Although I am not too busy for an occasional update on your situation. Just do not be alarmed if I do not respond immediately. Traitors cannot interrogate themselves, you know, and you should see the paperwork in my “in-tray.”
Best of luck, and I do hope you have a pleasing holiday, despite everything.

Let's hope this post gets as much love as my last one did
Please stay with me on this one- but wyngro needs to have a higher age limit instead of what DA has
AHEM
Hi, I joined wyngro when I was 13
The base age to join
I have been part of the group for many years, I'm almost an adult now
And let me tell you how joining at that age is one of the worst choices I ever made
You see, kids are dumb. Sorry, but it's true.
Kids are dumb because they're starting to learn, they don't know any better. Especially kids with access to the internet.
They are easily influenced, immature, and just don't have the life experience yet that an adult has. Joining a group online can be a horrible mistake.
Let's talk about my experiences
So, I joined when I was 13! I was very social with others, and made a lot of friends
Most of them, if not all, were older than me, and were adults.
This already causes problems
So like I said, kids are easily influenced
I had access to a debit card of my own, I had lots of money from gifts over the years from family
And I eventually learned how to buy things in the group
This lead me to some horrible circumstances with a person I thought to be my friend- an adult
I offered to buy some stuff, like a breeding ticket to help, a marble so they can add a limited upgrade to a baby, and much more I can't remember.
This person promised to pay back, or give me items back later on. But this never happened.
But this person was my friend, so I let it happen to me. And it's only now that I'm older that I realize how awful that was, and that I should've mentioned it or stood up for myself, but I believed they were my friend, and that counted for something
So- I was easily influenced to do something because I did it for a buddy oh pal oh chum of mine
What else happened?
Well, I had adult friends that I would poor my heart out to, and get upset when they wouldn't do the same. "Oh you bought your friend a DD? That's nice but we've been friends longer..." "I'm waiting to do plot with you, why are you doing things with other people?" "This mod said something bad about my approval, I hate them!"
Take a wild guess. Yes! I was immature
But clearly I've grown out of this now so don't worry pff
Now, this is what's been brought up lately, and how it ties in to the conversation.
In my humble opinion, the group should AT LEAST be 15+
Here are some reasons:
-In general, it can help reassure a little more that the members are expected to be mature. There's no excuse
-There is a large amount of adults in the group, and I'm sorry, but I've heard too many issues of minors and adults in this group getting involved with porn. This shouldn't have ever happened but it has. MULTIPLE TIMES
-The group deals with mature subjects, such as death, and to sum up the one heartkindle, a battle to see who can get laid the most.
-Kids want things other people have to make them look cool (Have you seen the amount of "how to hack" videos in kids games?). Like DDs and pets and anything that costs money. Kids haven't learned the proper value of money yet, AND, unless with a parent's account, a minor can't use paypal as far as I know
-You wouldn't sit a kid or a tween in front of a tv and watch adult movies and shows, would you? I can personally say this is terrible, I was exposed to these sorts of things as a kid and it's developed some things in my life that I prefer not to talk about
-And of course. Dark plots! You guys love writing edgy angst. If there was a content warning along with age rules, it could change if immature members bully others because it isn't sunshine and rainbows.
Now in all honesty there's no way the owner would have known when originally writing rules that this was how the group would be. It changed drastically over the years. But rules need to adapt as well, and an age limit change could be a push to help with some problems since some people here also believe members are an issue.
If there are any issues with this- it's midnight, give me a break I'm just slapping this together as I go.
Goodnight tri state area

sooo, i've wrote this little concept/short story after this video right here and since i havent been active i thought i should post it
btw that youtube channel is amazing and you should totally check out their playlist, this one is called "running away with your lover that you were told to stay away from while it's raining"
and here's what i've wrote:
Today was the day.
Flowers, pretty lights, important people and a big cake. We had it all. All the ingredients for what should be one of the best days in our life. Soft music, my parents, king and queen, full of joy to be finally witnessing the wedding of their only son. Prideful smiles, jokes and glasses of wine danced through the big garden where everything was going to happen.
I was alone, in a corner, feeling just like the clouds above us. Grey. Enjoying the invisibility that the simple dark dress that I had chosen, gave me. Did I choose it to keep a low profile? Avoid the chats with people I didn't know nor care about? Or was I mourning the love that never happened like it should? The same one that in a couple hours for now would be over for ever? I knew we didn't stand a chance. I knew we were just young and in love.
Absurdly in love. The kinda love that destroys you when it's gone. The kinda love that feels like the only emotion that rules through your veins when your person, your savior, your most precious treasure is around. But what was it all for? Us to end up this way? They all say that you should just trust the universe. 'Things will work out eventually' they assure you. But they're not sure, they can't be.
And I could go on and on. Ranting, screaming, crying. About all the things that aren't right, about how you and I belong together. How we are meant to be. But you know that, you're the only one that does.
And when they ask us to go sit in our places, telling us that the ceremony was about to begin the only thing I could think about was tonight.
"I don't want this to feel like a goodbye, love" you say, holding me a little tighter to the point I could not longer tear our heartbeats apart. Both fast, feeling almost like the ticking of a clock. "It's not a goodbye..." you whisper, pain in your voice.
"I'm afraid it is"
"It doesn't have to be" you argue.
"I want more than kitchens at midnight, secret gardens and stolen stares, darling." I say, not sure if I should have. Round my fingers trough your arms and your skin feels soft after my touch, familiar. And, even though I did not tell you, I was trying to memorize you.
Silence fills the floor of the kitchen where we lay. But I know you felt the same way.
"Do you really want to lead?" I finally ask. That makes you slip out of my arms, a little because the candle we were using was almost ending and we needed a new one, but mostly because that was a conversation to have face to face. I watch you get up and light the new candle, your movements were graceful, delicate, only illuminated by moonlight and wishes. You sat in front of me, in your eyes only fear and love. And the illicit question:
In the end, which one would be stronger?
"I don't know what I want anymore."
"We can be free, darling" I gave you what I hope wasn't our last kiss and wiped the tear that fall out of your face afterwards "you just have to say the word and we're out of here"
But that was just lovers' promises.
Enchanted by the moment, by your eyes, your touch, and the impossible possibility of a life with you. A real one. But today was the day. Everyone was here, and the flowers and lights kept laughing at me. Calling me naive. And the worst part? They were probably right.
The music started and I knew that was a bad sign. Watched my brother, soon to be king, walked the aisle with mockery and highness. I know that power and royalty were the only things in his mind at the moment. He never loved you. At least not like I do. You could see it in his bored eyes, in how his heart stayed in his chest when you came out wearing that white dress.
And you? You were beautiful. Looked just like an angel. You glowed, filled the room with magic even with that fake smile in your face. We crossed eyes and for a second I thought that that was the end of me. My heart skipped a beat, or a couple, and even if your smile wasn't, mine was genuine. You looking at me was a reason enough to smile. Even if that was the last time you did.
But then your eyes left me and went to him. Your future husband. The future king. And I felt so empty that I had to close my eyes and recompose myself before I break. I didn't hear the rest of the ceremony, I couldn't stand to look at you trying to look at him the same way you look at me.
Fear had finally won. Ironic, isn't it? Wedding days are supposed to be about love.
But then... everyone gasped and I had to start listening again.
"I can't..." it was the only thing that left your mouth. Two words and I felt alive again. "I'm sorry, I can't." you repeated yourself several times in the eyes of what could've been your kingdom. And before anyone could really understand what was happening you took my hand and dragged me out of that place.
We ran under the rain to the back of the castle, the place when the forest starts. And there was a horse prepared. You planned this, there was a bag with clothes and things we might need. You wanted to run away with me. And even though that was all I needed to prove that you loved me just as much as I did I had to ask one more time.
"Are you sure about this?"
"You..." for a moment you stopped trying to tie the bag to the horses saddle and look right into my eyes "... are the only thing I'm sure about." and then you smiled at me. For real this time. And that was enough.
More than enough.
So as my arms tight around your waist while we ride through the forest we can only burst into laughter. Tears of joy mixing with the pouring rain. And the sudden realization that we were finally home.
And when they'll tell our story, cause it's too good not to. We'll be the ones with a happy ending. We will be the two crazy princesses who fell in love. The two crazy princesses who run away. The two crazy princesses who are finally free.
