Day 26-27: #latepost 26 was Gameday! We played against the current leader AEK and although it was a VERY GOOD match, we ultimately lost in 4, but not before completely controlling them in the 3rd set after dropping the 1st and 2nd. We now know what to do next time we play them 😎 Day 27 was our day off and after lunch I did some much needed shopping. I did not travel to Cyprus with any running sneakers so I finally went out and bought my first pair of Reeboks! So I look forward to running on the beach in the mornings instead of just walking 👍🙌👟🏃‍♀️ I was also in desperate need of a new camera since something is going wrong with my old one. It served me well through the years but I have made a fantastic upgrade to a Sony Action Cam! Now I can work much more with training and game footage. My day finished with a trip to the physio for my weekly Shockwave therapy on my feet, and I can say things are definitely getting better! Dealing with bureaucracy is not so bad when you come out to this view right!! Had to take this photo of such a big moment. Its only been 14 years x Does anyone else get massively anxious about bureaucracy?? Ending up putting it off for ages before actually doing it?? Finally I have been and put in my application for Cyprus Nationality!!!! I was entitled after 7 years as a single person or after 3 years married, but I have just Been putting it off for so so long! This picture was taken in a children's play area would you believe. Perfect spot for an Instagram worthy snap. It was right in the centre of the busy old town of Paphos. The place to be with vibrant culture an live music. Typical of me to be forever looking for a good backdrop with my hobby photographer eye and then trying to direct someone to take a picture haha. My mum has a pretty good eye of her own though. There has been some funding in 2017 to renovate and restore the mostly neoclassical 1920s buildings back to their glory. It is both beautiful and interesting to walk around. There are many religious sites including an ottoman baths and a Mosque. There are also 4 museums. Lots of street art painting on the walls by @artbymilo and some beautiful bronze sculptures by #yiotaioannidouart There's a living wall, a market, boutiques, galleries and many shops to buy traditional handmade wares. We were actually looking for a certain restaurant that my mum had been to a few years back but couldn't find it so we stopped and asked the owner of the Carob produce shop if she knew somewhere. She walked us, for about a 5 minute walk, to @antigomezedopolio and we were so glad she did! Tiny little shop front with the chairs and tables out in the street and it was like tapas style of ordering but with Cyprus cuisine. I cannot recommend it enough! It was just beautiful. Everything about it and very good value too. They had an acoustic guitarist singing without amplification, which was perfect to add to the atmosphere without being overbearing. We ordered between the three of us and Raphael... stuffed peppers, stuffed courgette flowers, salad, aubergine dip, houmous, lamb chop, Cyprus sausage, lemon beef with onion, lemon pork and seafood risotto and chips. Everything was homemade, from scratch and the chips were something else!!! We got fruit and coffee at the end and I have huge compliments to the chef for the best meal I've had in a long time!
