ever since you talked about your ao3 nothing in my life has been the same. i've never seen someone write about the characters the way i've been wanting to see my entire life. i never even expected to like damian. i guess it looks like i can like damian, and i do like him -- but only when no one tries to pretend like the whole damian-dick-tim and sometimes damian-dick-tim-bruce thing isn't fucked up or that no one fumbled the bag there. and only then, do i find myself surprisingly invested in what happens to the kid. and your little red series? and your 12 and under series? do you have ANY idea how many times i've seen IRL stuff and immediately think of little tim? Hello! Sure it's ok!

So aaah it's a bit silly really, but coincidence was one of the first 'big english word's I learnt after meeting my best friend and neighbour in middle school. We both loved reading books and formed a quick connection, even though I was younger than her by two years. It's kind of a long story but we met mainly through a series of coincidences, something which fascinated me as a teenager/tween. Later, she introduced me to Harry Potter and after much reluctance (another long story) I started reading the series and didn't look back.

We're always like on-and-off in touch with each other after we moved away but once, I had the courage to show her a short original story I wrote. She was great with art and would send me her art too. (I read my story a few weeks ago and it wasn't even good, lol.) But she liked it, and suggested that I make a tumblr for my writings, she'd heard about the site from a friend, or something, I can't recall exactly. And..... that's it.

Regulus tells him, as his fingers work through his hair, his lips brushing on the top of his head as he speaks. The hero's last words are a curse to the world.

Regulus reads them out softly and James feels the world slip away.

Speak to me such sweet atrocities.

"Don't leave," James lets out and he can't open his eyes.

Regulus stops reading. He remains silent for a moment and he says, "Sleep, sweet firefly."

The void is sweet opium. His arms are sweeter.

James falls asleep and the sedative stills on the nightstand, untouched.

Either the nightmares are normal bad dreams, in which case the Dreamless Sleep will tide you over; or it’s some divination fuckery. Or a secret third option, or a mix of factors. In every case keeping track of what  you dreamt when  will help us figure it out.”

Villain! What are some of your headcanons for young!regulus?

I’m so glad you asked! *pulls up a PowerPoint* 🫶 I’ll define young!Regulus as preteen and before, for the sake of clarity.

Regulus Black:

* So smol, so cute 🥹 legit looks like a little doll 💅

* Usually spends his time in Grimmauld Place hanging off his big brother Sirius 😇

* Is totally raised by Sirius btw. Receives The Talk from his brother in the summer before second year. Very mortifying; he would not recommend 🙃

* Receives more punishments than Sirius after first year 😔 that’s when their mother realizes Sirius doesn’t care what she does to him, but folds quickly when his consequences are put to Regulus instead.

* Enjoys being the center of Sirius’s attention but otherwise hatessss it! 🫣

* Is a little genius. 🧐 Excels with his tutors—especially in potions!

* Besties with Barty, Evan, and Dorcas 🫶🫶🫶

* The loyalist 🤝 will do whatever it takes to protect his brother or friends, whether they like it or not

* Has his first kiss with Barty in second year. 😚😚 immediately tells Sirius, because he tells Sirius everything, even though he knows his brother definitely won’t approve (spoiler, he’s right)

Hi villain! Still so obsessed with your fic 💗😞. Can i ask u about His Right Hand as a title? First of all why and will we find out later in the story?

ASFDGHJLLKGFDS love u!! It’s part of this world’s lore that we’ll definitely get into!

So, there’s a practice in the old pureblood families called la main droite or “the right hand.” It’s where the heir(ess) of the house then has their closest-in-age sibling act as their accomplice or assistant in furthering the family’s interests. In other words, be their right hand person.

In the Black family, that means Regulus is Sirius’s right hand man. Regulus is supposed to act as an extension of Sirius to carry out actions that would benefit the Black family name. However, in this story, Sirius is very protective of his brother and is way more interested in making sure Regulus is happy and looked after than assisting the Black legacy. Sirius will also be assisting Regulus in future tasks to facilitate the downfall of the dark lord.

So who is whose right hand in the end?
