I have never cried reading a book. I cried reading The Book Thief yesterday.

the weirdest part is, I didn’t cry for the people she lost or the life she could’ve lived. I cried for the people she got to love and the life she could live in the midst of that darkness. I cried for the selfless love only a father like Hans Hubermann could give, for Rosa’a tough but silent love, for the simplicity of Rudy’s companionship, for Max’s pure heart. I think that it is also my favourite part.

I could never find the words to explain how beautiful The Book Thief is, so I’ll say just that. It’s beautiful.

I have my Marvel Family hyperfixation in one hand, and I've got my Book Thief hyperfixation in the other, and I'm about to clap them together like Death did the stories of Liesel and Max.

I just wanna see the skrunklies interact. Like, Billy, Mary, Liesel and Rudy playing football. Freddy and Tommy Muller bonding over being disabled. Max getting a whole horde of new younger siblings that just adore him, and Freddy not having to take care of the other two for once.

I just finished the book thief HOLY SHIT IM SHATTERED AND BROKEN!!

I have not cried this hard at a book i think ever, i had to take multiple breaks because i just couldn’t carry on i was so upset. I want to draw so much, the snowman scene especially.

The only downside is i had to read it for school but i still loved it! It was just harder to be motivated to read it (because i had to annotate it)

MAX AND RUDY ARE MY BOYS AND I WOULD’VE DONE ANYTHING TO PROTECT THEM. I wanted to hug them so bad dude. They were amazingly written, i loved their relationships with Liesel and I was so so heartbroken when Rudy died. (One fell first but the other fell harder was really shining through at the end there, specifically page 518 and im so sad because you know they would’ve grown old together)

Also Hans Huberman was better than i couldve ever imagined. I mean when i first started reading he gave me bad vibes but i was so so so wrong oh my god. I could’ve never expected him to be so amazing <3 as a Papa, and as a friend to the man who saved his life.

The only way i can sum up my feelings of this book was that one death quote “I have to say that although it broke my heart, I was, and still am, glad i was there.” Markus Zusak pg. 533

Just watched the movie 'the book thief', an absolute banger. If you read the book (the book thief), you'd know that it's a movie adaptation.

I loved the movie, but it would've been a 10 if they didn't remove any of the vital information, prolly to keep it short (it was 2 hours and 11 minutes) at least Rudy got 5 extra seconds ig💀

My rating: 9/10

My fav character was Rudy Steiner, but Liesel was goated.

I also find the story interesting bc it was told by death, like, death is telling the story

something wrapped all of my past mistakes in barbed wire, chains around my demons, wool to brave the seasons. one single thread of gold tied me to you. - invisible string by taylor swift rudy x liesel fans come get ur content ‼️‼️ rudy n liesel being soulmates is something that can be so special, this was originally meant to be like the second version w/ just the classic red string of fate but then the taylor swift lyric popped into my head so i made another version where the string is gold and included the lyrics :D and then another version w/ no strings just them chilling.
