Have you been sleeping in that tent every night? I could mix you a Sweet Dreams potion, if you like. I don't like to think of you tossing and turning all night. For 9 nights running? Please tell me I've misunderstood you somewhere.

Christmas tea was nice and simple. We et ham and roast potatoes and boiled carrots and mulled wine and ice cream out of a funny huge oblong paper cup for pudding. Andromeda wisely pointed out that there wasn't any sense in doing a big Christmas tea as it was just us. The ham sandwiches we've been having since then make for a nice change also. Teddy mainly had the carrots mashed up and a bottle of milk. Andromeda gave him a spoonful of ice cream as a treat, but he spat it out. I think he thought it was going to be hot cereal and was very disappointed.

Andromeda did a Christmas stocking for me, which I suppose I shouldn't have found surprising, and thankfully I had brought her a box of chocolates from Honeydukes so I wasn't as embarrassed as I was when you gave me a gift and I had nothing appropriate with which to reciprocate. I'm still thinking about that, but depend on me, you shall not go long unreciprocated, Potter.

I also got to see my mother on the floo, which was enjoyable and frustrating in equal measures. She liked the phoenix rose cutting I sent her for a gift, so that was good. I think I have the perspective to understand now that the time she's spending with my father's mother isn't going to be as good for her as I had hoped. I wish there were something I could do about it, but she is there, and I am here.

I think most people probably see me as a bit gormless. Since I can remember, I've wanted to be like my father. For a little while I thought I was on my way to proving that I'm not. I want to say things like I would pull the world down for her, but. It's just noise when people say that, generally. I'm tired of sound and fury. And besides I don't think I'd want to give her the sort of things she wants anymore. The philosophical troubles of an erstwhile harpist!

I still miss my harp. I can't help it. I'll hunt up some sheet music and play you a bit of Van Morrison.

I love her writing. When when I say it I really mean it. Her writing really portrays her creativity and style. They can be slow paced but they'll keep you hooked till the end (if you are patience). I love her slow burn fics as well. They are just so well written, like so very well written. And what really amuses me was her being so active from the start. Trust me I really want that being consistent about my writing but I just can't. And it's actually really tough to be consistent. And her smuts- hmmmmmmmmmmm imma be straight forward- they make me blush real bad also wet sometimes 🫶. 🌷

Soo I've read many of her smuts before actually following her in this new blog i created after deleting my previous one. I may not read the angst fics (there's a reason behind it. Everyone have there own reasons) but I love love the smuts written by her. Pan your polyamory representation something I really loved because usually I see a negative representation of that. Your smuts make me wet, to state it quite straight forwardly. Your writing really does things to me (now why does this sounds like confession letter 😭). They are really well crafted. 🌷

I discovered her fics recently and I'm in love. I love domestic scenarios especially when it has a really Asian household setting (because I live in one+ I'm the oldest daughter 🚶🏻‍♀️). And see if anything I feel seen but I really love the comforting feeling it gives me while reading them. Sure it leaves me with a bittersweet moment where I really do sit and think "wow it would be great if I actually experienced that kinda affection" but honestly that's how good writing is supposed to make you feel. Kanej Fic Recs: The "Figuring Out Intimacy" Trope

If you're anything like me, you're a glutton for very specific fic tropes applied to your very favorite OTPs (and we all know my OTP of OTPs is kanej). To this end, ao3 tags are your best friend. When you see that delicious combination of tags like "emotional hurt/comfort" and "healing" and "pining" with some sort of moody, vaguely poetic title, that's the good shit right there. That is a MEAL, and you are about to feast.

Anyways. I'm getting off track.

I come to you today with more than just an offering to the potluck; I am here to open up the doors to the whole damn buffet. That's right - FIC RECS. Specifically, fic recs that scratch the particular itch for "post-canon fics where Kaz and Inej figure out how to touch each other, but really the Physical Armor is always symbolic of the Emotional Armor that they have to learn to lower if they hope to ever really Be Together." Do you know what I'm talking about? If you know, you know. It's kanej figuring out intimacy. It's touch, but it's about the way they touch each other's souls. It's a fandom-classic fic trope. Harry Potter Rec Fest Day 21 - Thought-provoking

@hprecfest - this prompt was itself very thought-provoking, it made me go back and think about the fics that made me close my Kindle and stare at a wall for a while. The fics I love best make me re-examine canon and rethink the things I knew about characters and situations, or even my own life.

The Audacity of Lavender Brown by @malpal132 Pairing: Lavender x Charlie Word count: 6,457 Rating: E

Canon did Lavender Brown dirty. I'm not sure who did her dirtier - JKR or the movies - but I really think she's unfortunately a one-dimensional plot device in a series of books already bereft of strong, admirable female characters. @malpal132 sets out to change this. This fic not only made me rethink Lavender in and out of canon, but female characters in general. Come for the feminism, stay for the sexy smut with Charlie Weasley.

Pop Up Pals by bambimoss Pairing: Draco x Harry Word count: 62,447 Rating: E

I love down-and-out Draco. I think it's a good impetus for a redemption arc and humanizes him for Harry and others who spent years villainizing him. This fic takes it to another level. I got literal stomach aches feeling so sorry and sad for Draco in this fic. As an introvert who doesn't love leaving the house but still experiences loneliness like all humans, I related to his "imaginary friends" and the embarrassment of having your lackluster (as judged by others) personal life outed. I don't want to spoil too much, because this fic is so small and heartbreaking and wonderful. You all need to experience it for yourselves.

How Harry became a tattoo artist. The descriptions of art in this fic are so beautiful; I can picture them clearly. The writing is efficient and minimalist but evokes so much emotion. I love this alternate journey for Harry - a way for him to work through some of his trauma.

This is a personal one. I recorded this for the wonderful @teledild0nix at the request of their partner for an anniversary gift. Of course, I said yes! It's a sweet and thought-provoking fic: Hogwarts professors Drarry, educational reform, werewolves, actual queer representation, adorable magical pets. For me, the educational reform was the thought-provoking part, and Liddy does a great job laying out some of the problems with Hogwarts curriculum and then trying to fix it. I so enjoyed recording it, and even moreso the thought of @teledild0nix listening to it.

Mini-soapbox rant to hopefully make my post meta-thought-provoking: Liddy's partner asked me, when recording this, if they could compensate me for my work. I do some paid audiobook work in my free time, but this is fanfic, and I would have done this for free just because it's such a sweet thing for someone to do for a loved one.

(Shouting into the void and very much not at @teledild0nix's lovely partner:) But also don't try to monetize fandom!!! We do this out of love for the fandom and to increase accessibility for those who might not always be able to read. It's fun, it brings people together, and no one should be making money off it! Let's just all scream on the internet about how great and fun it is, okay?

oh god truly most of them, i am a small disabled american themme and i am not adventurous or curious or willing to put myself in any of the situations these idiots get into, but i think this is just how i live vicariously now. however all scenes about smoking cigs and weed and lamenting existence and being wrought with anxiety are all true to life LMFAO

36. Do you visualize what you read/write?

yes !!! so much that i think it's part of what makes me such a slow writer, i need to visualize the entire scene in my mind and i end up with a lot more detail than strictly necessary but i like it to play out like a little movie in my head and if other fic isn't written similarly or has something that makes me think too long about how it could possibly work it kinda takes me out of it jghkdfg (im looking at you impossible pretzel sex scenes, it's not your fault it's my brain)

37. Promote one of your own “deep cut” fics (an underrated one, or one that never got as much traction as you think it deserves!). What do you like about it?

hghhghgh i always have the most special place in my heart for my crowley backstory fic these, our bodies, possessed by light, which i started long before s2 aired so i could explore more of his and aziraphale's history and crowley's seeming memory loss of his time before falling and how their arrangement came to be and ugh it makes my heart warm to think about. crowley taking care of cain after The Incident. crowley and aziraphale getting drunk on noah's ark. crowley and aziraphale trying to save what few people they can in the moments before sodom and gomorrah. my babies. so small. so emotional and lost in the world and universe. celestial soulmates. IM EMOTIONAL. it also has some surprisingly accurate predictions, though i did go back and edit a few things after s2 aired bc i liked them so much. i think once bwctf is finished i might go back to the beginning of these our bodies and do a re-write bc i already know whatever happens in the finale probably isn't what i imagined way back in the day and i still love how i decided they should break free so we'll see !!!

Honestly, I think there'd be plenty of smaller ship wars but nothing too big. Liddy's all for polyamory and while there might be a few people here and there who would want her to find the one tm and cringe at the idea of her having multiple partners, Liddy falls for people all too easily and deserves all the girlfriends.

She's 100% a favorite to ship with however, and if she were canon, there'd be dozens of Liddy/Reader fics in the tags. While making her, I realized she's sort of a trope that tends to get thirsted after -- a giant muscly goth who will step on you AND bake you a pie. She's a goofball AND a sexy dom, and we love her for it.

Film looks familiar, but it takes me a bit to remember what it is. Scoff softly when I do, and John turns to look at me, grinning, “Yes?”

“This movie is frustrating.”

John’s grin grows, “Is it? Do tell.”

Raise an eyebrow, “I thought you didn’t like it when I do that.”

John laughs, “I know you know it’s different when we’re at the cinema. Go on, then.”

“It’s structured incorrectly.”

John leans in a bit, “That’s not nearly what I expected you to say. How’s it structured incorrectly?”

“The principle couple aren’t actually the protagonists. They don’t deserve to be called the principle couple, actually. Their relationship is shallow and seems to be founded on the concept that any heterosexual romance is inherently benign or even admirable.”

John considers that, “But what about Humperdinck? Doesn’t his relationship with Buttercup count against that idea? Not all heterosexual romances are admirable?”

Shake my head, “No, Humperdinck and Buttercup are explicit about the fact that they have no romantic feelings for each other.”

“So who do you think the real protagonists are, then?”

“Inigo and Fezzik, of course. They’re the ones with substantive character arcs and their relationship is founded in years of mutual support and admiration.” Sip from my water, “But they fizzle into ambiguity because-” check myself and have another sip of water.

John chins his hand, delighted, “Because?”

Toss my head, “Because straight men are too obtuse to recognise or too cowardly to admit they’ve been writing a romance between men and they let the threads drop rather than bring them through to their logical conclusion. Hence. Fizzling.”

so my beautiful friend @captain-liddy tagged me in a “Best Line of Fic” meme and i was like ‘bold of you to assume i remember any lines from my own fic after i give birth to them and abandon them on ao3’ but i did my homework and i found my favorite favorite bit of my favorite favorite fic i ever wrote.
