You know what? I think Licorice’s rather odd stats make sense. I think that no one can be one hundred percent perfect. And it also represents that many of us have not yet decided who they want to be in the future. Because of this, there is a lot of social pressure and low self-esteem due to the fact that they are not good enough at something like everyone else. I think that's why Licorice’s character is special. If you compare him to other characters, he definitely stands out from the rest. Some are good at strength, while others are good at strategy and solving puzzles. He is not as “perfect” as the others and this makes him more real. Licorice constantly tries himself in different roles and participates in different competitions just to prove to everyone that he is better than others at least in something. I think he is good at strength because in his village everyone mostly did manual labor due to the harsh conditions. And only Licorice didn’t want all this, dreaming of doing what he always wanted - learning magic. And perhaps his parent/s(relatives?)and the rest of his village were against it, considering it all a “waste of time”. It is possible that he first learned magic himself in secret from the others.

I really hope we see more of Licorice’s past revealed to us after the Christmas update 🙏

And I would like to see more morally gray characters with tragic pasts in future updates. That would be really cool!!

Not sure if they just live there, they were created by the Licorice Sea and have some sort of connection to monsters in it, or…whatever third option I came up with that I’m forgetting about, but I think it’d be neat

Pure Vanilla Cookie and Black Raisin Cookie would want to thank Y/N Cookie by asking if they wanted to stick around and help with the Vanilla Kingdom.

Since DE is defeated for now, you actually grant this request and stick around with Brave and the others to help patch up things in the place…all the while Pure Vanilla and Black Raisin crowd you wanting to chat, lol.

Barely having enough time to process the dragon being defeated had you being scooped up and squeezed tightly by Hollyberry Cookie. You were just so cute fighting the dragon like that, Princess Cookie would agree!

Jungleberry and Royal Berry would ask if you had to stay for a celebratory feast, it was the least they could do to commend you for your efforts. Hollyberry is there to try and butter you up, but you had DE to stop and didn’t have the time. The Teo royals understand, but Hollyberry is insisting she comes along to keep you safe!

Dark Cacao Cookie couldn’t thank you enough for the efforts you and the group put to ward off the licorice threat and snap him out of his corruption. He insists that a warrior like you would be at home in the Dark Cacao Kingdom.

Caramel Arrow would insist on Cacao’s offer, saying that by staying, you’d be a constant inspiration for her and the other warriors to train and fight harder. This gets DCA on the protective side, his asking of you to come to the kingdom being urgent, he did not want to leave you to get twisted into an evil mockery of yourself.

You wouldn’t realize it yet, but Golden Cheese Cookie had gotten more attached to you then you expected, it seemed not even GC was immune to the effect you had on cookies. She focused on you and how you were doing much more than the group, something that would annoy Black Raisin to no end.

It would all come to a head where she’d offer you to be a permanent resident to her kingdom, but you had to refuse, saying that DE had to be stopped no matter what, but GC insisted! She grew worried, this war shouldn’t matter more to you than your own life. You should just STAY HERE where you couldn’t get hurt under her watch, she’s not letting you leave out of fear that she’ll endure the same pain she had endured years ago…

White Lily Cookie didn’t like the sound of your plan, were you really going to face Dark Enchantress Cookie? It sounded too dangerous for you, you can get hurt or something even worse! She’ll help you, but it meant that you had to stay back as she and the others handled DE.

But you refused, you had been on this mission since the start, you weren’t going to back out now. But White Lily believes that your life can be more fruitful if you remained here…with her. So please….stay. You couldn’t, you wanted to see this until the end. The others were counting on you…

Hello! I wanted a request you of a Baker!Reader

Honestly ive had this little moment thing in my mind for some time and I wanted to seehow Baker!Reader just completely annihilated Dark Enchantress Cookie with a frying pan, honestly of how big Baker!Reader is and how Baker's (as well as Witches) are.. Well Baker's of the Cookies and as such Witches are considered God's.. So Baker is considered one too, and just how Baker!Reader is just scolding Dark Enchantress Cookie for this whole.. " Cookies are made to be eaten " nonsense. While also some Members of the Cookies of Darkness just watch in either fear or shock...or worse I say worse..both! I would Imagine this Baker!Reader being more strict and intermediating if they are handling evil, but has a big softe side when not or just hanging out with their Cookie friends, especially the Ancients. Also may wondering why a frying pan? Because it's a funni weapon of mass destruction :3

I CAST FRYING PAN!!

That was the booming call before a giant pan smit down Dark Enchantress Cookie. Time virtually stopped when it happened, as even Cookies who didn’t witness it heard the sound of your angry voice, and stood in silence for a few moments that seemed like ages….

The Cookies of Darkness were all at such a loss seeing the giant pan whack their leader down with such ease and authority. They had no clue what was the proper way to even react to everything, other than being in a state of shock and fear. Licorice and Poison Mushroom Cookie vowed to never get on the baker’s bad side if this is what they’re in for. Red Velvet Cookie had such a hard time processing everything and just wanted to forget what he saw. The poor Cookie had to rethink everything about himself to avoid your wrath. Pomegranate Cookie…was lost, seeing her great master defeated in such a manner. If this is the fate of her master, then what’s to become of her? Pomegranate would devote her life to yours, anything, just please don’t let her fall to such a cruel fate…

Even the Cookies that were your friends were still scared. They knew you were kindhearted and loving, but your kindness was almost forgotten when they saw your judgement cast down on Dark Enchantress Cookie. They’re grateful that they’re in your good graces and that you’re a benevolent baker, but they can’t exactly shake the image of your anger out of their minds…

The Ancient Heroes were concerned for you. They respected your position as a Baker and couldn’t have prevented you from smiting Dark Enchantress, but it’s about how you went about it that made them question you. You found humor in it, as for you a frying pan as a weapon of mass destruction seems hilarious…but to these Cookies, there was nothing to laugh at. Fortunately, you only hurt your target, but far more than just Dark Enchantress were at risk from being seriously harmed. The Ancients love your kindness for the Cookies and understand your strictness for evil, but they still want you to remember how different your world is to theirs. They love you, truly, but please be more mindful, even to those that are evil.

✨Saint Vanilla Cookie

He’s the only one who goes wherever he wants. The other beasts are pretty stationary for the time being, but Saint’s on a mission and he will show up literally anywhere

Still loves animals and thinks they’re incapable of sinning, so they don’t get the purifying touch. It’s why raisin’s crows are still alive

Speaking of raisin, he does miss her but he thinks she’s in a better place. Calls her his martyr and talks about her like she’s still alive

He has tea every morning

It’s unknown where he sleeps when he’s traveling the world

He keeps Crepe’s headset extra clean for the day they meet each other again

❤️‍🔥Dragonberry Cookie

She is still the same old Hollyberry who loves drinking berry juice like there’s no tomorrow. She even brings pints to Neo beast meetings

Even though her pride has given her a massive superiority complex, she still views her family and even Pitaya rather fondly, though it doesn’t prevent the latter from being spared any sort of pain. She sees everything as playful until it’s not

Does frankly miss Tarte Tatin and Royal Margarine even though one or both of them has Snapdragon, who she’s trying to get her hands on

❄️Frigid Cacao Cookie

Rarely speaks but when he does it’s usually to give orders, and half of that time he asks for food

His incense always remains lit

Alongside the cookies left, sometimes the licorice sea monsters that now roam his halls act as his servants. He can also use the licorice ooze to do wacky things like teleport from one place to another

Sometimes he appears in the fog of the snow like an apparition, something you can barely see but know he’s there. It’s one of the rare sightings of him outside

Another thing he does when outside is stare at a frozen Cacaoian. Sometimes he touches the icy surface, maybe kneels. Who knows what he’s thinking?

☀️Celestial Cheese Cookie

A lot of her mannerisms are akin to white diamond from steven universe, she was actually one of the main references I used for her design

She can summon as many golden arms as she wants and they operate on hydra properties. Cutting one will grow two

Despite this, she doesn’t have the legit Midas touch where everything she touches turns to gold, she can be selective. Which is good when she wants to pet jackals

Her growing kingdom is full of converted desert inhabitants and travelers, maybe a handful of townships, and it’s remarkable how she’s been able to grow a lot from nothing. She does get a bit of an inferiority complex when comparing herself to the likes of Dragonberry, but it motivates her to conquer more

🥀Midnight Lily Cookie

She picked up playing the harp after she became queen, and she plays often. The silver fae like to gather around to listen to their queen perform, and her harp can be heard across the kingdom

She’s grown more accustomed to speaking like the silver fae as well at times, her voice songlike despite how neutral it sounds. She’ll sing as she plays the harp as well

Despite being a beast, she’s the least accepting of that name for lack of a better word. She doesn’t see herself as being corrupt, only staying true to her decisions and her sovereignty, what she believes is right for herself and everyone. It just so happens that it enables the bad to do worse, but it’s not her problem anyway.

Her kingdom is still strict to outsiders, probably on the same level as cacao. You might need an invitation inside or risk the silver fae being free to do whatever they wish with you

As I mentioned previously they operate similar to the fae (unseelie in aesthetic) so you don’t want to bother chaotic neutral creatures

The only one allowed without invitation is Saint Vanilla, who has a habit of showing up in her garden to lay among the flowers. Lily can only imagine what he thinks of when he sees her

Tessy anon and lol yes I can imagine that with the COD and like at one point they just feel so sad at this that they are like '...ok, y/n is our friend now. We are giving them [insert favorite food]' later.

So I’ve been making this

So basically last night, I was listening to some music, specifically Not Gonna Die by Skillet, more specifically a version on YouTube with the intro (because I’m not the biggest fan of Good to be Alive where the intro actually is). Anyways, when it’s night, my imagination tends to be more active and I tend to have more energy. While listening to the song, I eventually got this mental image in my mind of this scene with Dark Choco, and the more it crystallized the more I wanted to draw it. I was going to go to sleep and maybe do it in the morning, but I realized that I probably would forget the vibe and not have as much energy, so instead I decided to power through and draw the idea

It was a bit difficult since I had limited references for the pose I wanted, and I suppose I can admit the sword looks a bit off anatomically, but it looks good enough I think, and lets me keep the eyes revealed

I did eventually have to stop drawing, because my iPad had been worked all the way down to 4% (and it was at 30% when I started, the poor thing), not to mention it was around 11:30 already which is pretty late for me, and my earbuds had been running nonstop for over 2 hours (yes I was listening to the same song, it’s how I keep the vibe). I was at least able to get the pose, base colors and lineart done, and I’m still pretty proud of where I left things last night

Today was mostly just doing the background and lighting, which admittedly I may have fumbled. I’m not very good at backgrounds and I didn’t know how to draw lightning. I tried my best, but honestly I don’t think I got the image in my head. Didn’t help that my brain was playing the wrong Skillet song this morning

Oh yeah and by the way, the background is supposed to be from this. That’s what I used as reference

The lightning both feels like too much and too little. Like, it’s crowding the picture, and I can’t have more because it’d be way too crowded with it, but also at the same time, it doesn’t feel like enough, like there isn’t as much power as I wanted

Actually wait, maybe I can add some small particle effects to like, enhance the lightning feel. That was in the original sketch but I omitted it in the final. If you see one with that, you know I did that

To be fair though, I don’t think I have the art skill to properly convey the image in my head. Basically the scene is that Dark Choco is using absolutely every amount of his power for this final swing down, so much that it’s too powerful and the Strawberry Jam Sword completely shatters. But also it’s too powerful that Dark Choco’s body simply can’t handle it, and he basically ends up exploding. The scene depicted would be the wind up to that final swing that destroys the both of them

This isn’t necessarily the first time I’ve come up with this scenario, and the setup would basically be that he turned on the Cookies of Darkness slightly earlier, because he didn’t want to destroy his homeland again, and he tried to get rid of them while in the kingdom but not yet at the Citadel, but he ended up failing, so with nothing to lose, he chases after them and decides to put everything into destroying them, even if it likely ends in his death. After this he probably killed Pomegranate and crippled Licorice in some way (I don’t think he’d attack Poison Mushroom), so his final act did have some effect, but he’s still dead by the end of it. And he and his father never got the chance to properly reconcile because Dark Choco thought that could never be a possibility anymore and he had resigned himself to his fate

But yeah, I just don’t know how to convey that sheer overwhelming power and emotion that this scenario suggests. I tried my best though

I also want to submit this to the Dark Cacao Forever contest, but I’m not sure if it’s good enough for it. What do you think?

Well, maybe he hates the lifestyle and some of the people (like Pomegranate) but he doesn’t hate the whole group. Maybe these guys were the closest he had to friends, hence why he doesn’t mind hanging out with them
