I am writing to you today and I hope that I will find compassion and mercy in your hearts to help my family in this difficult ordeal that we are going through. I have a first-born child who suffers from a serious heart disease, and he was supposed to undergo open-heart surgery on October 15, 2013. However, unfortunately, we have not yet been able to perform the operation due to the difficult conditions in which we live in the Gaza Strip.

My son suffers daily from the pain of illness, and we as a family are unable to provide him with the necessary treatment inside the Gaza Strip, in addition to our inability to secure his exit to receive treatment abroad. We face great challenges and harsh living conditions that prevent our ability to cover travel and treatment costs.

As each day passes, the destruction against Palestinians keeps claiming more and more lives. Dyia (@familygazaamal), on top of being separated from other members of his family , have shared this very heartbreaking story with me about his wife Shamia and his four children via DMs:

Every sentence on this message adds a new layer of sadness. The hard work to get a vaccine as necessary as polio. The dead child and man, whose names and stories might never come to light. The fear of having watched that horrible scene but having to remain strong to comfort your children. Watching your children becoming sick and afraid and feeling hopeless.

LICENCE TO KILL (1989) - Desmond Llewelyn was born on this day in 1914. He played Major "Q" Boothroyd in 17 @007 films starting with 1963's classic From Russia with Love. He was always my favorite character in every Bond film, no matter how small or expanded his role was. I particularly adore his turn in this one as "Uncle Q". So, I decided to celebrate his #BirthAnniversary by screening it for the first time in a while. The film itself is the most underrated in the Bond series.
