Today Dandies in Danger celebrates its 5 year anniversary! What started as a game between friends has flourished into the podcast it is today because we decided to take a risk and record our adventures to share with the world.
Playing in a fantasy space together is so genuinely fun. We've enjoyed watching each other grow over the years, both as artists and as individuals. It’s an honor to be able to pass off each arc to the next storyteller and trust that they can capably lead us on a thrilling adventure and continue to add to the rich world of Dandies.
We are very lucky to have found a group of unique individuals whose talents meld together so well. This podcast takes a lot of hard work, and each of us throws our entire self into making sure Dandies is the best it possibly can be. It's a pleasure to have such reliable and understanding friends.
Thank you, dear listeners, for accompanying us on this journey. We hope you will continue to do so till the end. Your support seriously means the world to us!

Eagerly awaiting the posting of the new Dandies episode so I drew my predictions for how it'll go
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(This is mostly a joke, as I don't actually know how bath houses worked in the Regency Era, but the thought of Adrian having a gay panic and Zachary fully clothed in the tub amused me. Also gave me an excuse to practice drawing more muscular men because Big Strong Dorito Liam.)

I haven’t done a new dream Taskmaster contestants list since the season 17 lineup came out, so I thought it was time for one. A list based on who hasn’t been cast yet in the first 17 seasons. I’m going to split this into two separate lists.
People who might possibly appear on Taskmaster UK at some point:
- Ahir Shah
- David O’Doherty (even though he is not UK)
- Josie Long
- Chris Addison
- Eleanor Morton
Alternates – by which I mean copouts because I managed to narrow down my top five but I have more that I wanted to list:
- Michael Legge
- Jessica Fostekew
- Rhys James
- Ian Smith
- Sarah Keyworth
- Danielle Ward
- Liam Williams
- Kiri Pritchard-McLean
People who would never appear on Taskmaster but would be on my dream list if we could have anyone, but still with some connection to the sort of people who do the show:
- John Oliver (wouldn’t do it due to: too important)
- Andrew Zachariah Zaltzman (wouldn’t do it due to: insufficiently important, because generally when they pick a comedian who isn’t already TV famous, it’s someone young and up-and-coming and Andy doesn’t fit the bill for that role – but I’d love it if they proved me wrong; also I realize he's younger than Michael Legge who also isn't TV famous, but I think Michael Legge is bigger on social media so that makes him feel slightly more realistic, I think, I don't have a good sense of how famous British people are, also I just remembered that Danielle Ward doesn’t perform anymore so she's probably less likely than Andy too)
- Kitson (wouldn’t do it due to: he doesn’t do anything where people can see him, despite having chosen to pursue a career in public performance, and I would sell out everyone I’ve ever met to have him filmed doing just one team task with John Oliver)
- Grace Petrie (wouldn’t do it due to: musician, though she did that one fucking excellent comedy hour and one or two more could get her in the Taskmaster pool and could also significantly improve my life)
- Gavin Osborn (wouldn’t do it due to: also not a comedian, but he’s on this list mostly because I’m imagining that these lists of five people will make up one Taskmaster season, and I love the idea of Gavin Osborn and Grace Petrie on a Taskmaster team together, or in fact doing anything together, couple of comedy-adjacent socialists with guitars)
…I didn’t mean for that list to become just Chocolate Milk Gang + Grace Petrie, but it’s not surprising that it did.
Dream Taskmaster Australia lineup, because I’ve decided I have one of those:
- Alice Fraser
- Laura Davis
- Tim Minchin
- Tom Ballard
- Adam Hills (I want to really hate him for some of his pro-monarchy shit, and I did object to it enough to stop following The Last Leg last year, but the fact is that I’d still like to see his wildly competitive side come out on Taskmaster)
- Alternate - or actually maybe she's on the list and Hills is the alternate - Claudia O'Doherty
People I’d most like to see fill the National Treasures role, if we pretend that literally no one is too famous to do that role, and also that they’re able to bring people back from the dead as long as they’re sufficiently National Treasure-y:
- Michael Palin
- Douglas Adams
- Sandi Toksvig
- Armando Iannucci
- Olivia Coleman
Dream Taskmaster lineup, any category:
youtube
It would be worth setting gender and racial equality back by thirty years, to have these five white guys on one season where the final studio task is to take apart a cow.

Black Cats not so lucky for North End
The sight of a Black Cat is not a memory that North End will want to live long in the memory as Sunderland comprehensively beat North End in this final game of the season. The win took the visitors into fifth place in the division and a play off spot while North End had to suffer the embarrassment of Blackpool winning at Norwich to keep us in the top half of the division. I was angry and frustrated at the end of the game and it wasn`t for the first time this season, I can tell you. The usual end of season collapse occurred once again with North End just taking one point from the final fifteen on offer when we were right on the cusp of the play offs after the Reading game on Easter Monday. It was sickening to watch the Sunderland fans celebrating but only in respect of how it could have been us with a little more investment from the boardroom and tactical nous from the manager. If fact I would like to go on record to say congratulations to Sunderland and their superb travelling support who were easily the nosiest at Deepdale this season. I genuinely hope they win the play off just to show you can come from nowhere with an experienced manager and still make it into the top six.
North End made three changes to the side that were walloped at Bramall Lane nine days ago with Lindsay, Delap and McCann coming in for Hughes, Onomah and Johnson. The game started at a brisk pace with both sides playing at speed. North End more than held their own and for a while we were wondering why we hadn`t played like this all season. I thought the Sunderland defence looked nervous early on and North End had a couple of chance through Cannon and McCann. At the other end Freddie Woodman was earning his corn as usual but it was Liam Delap who missed the chance to put North End ahead in the game when he was clean through and beat the visiting keeper but his shot trickled past the post. It was to be our best chance of the afternoon but it was frittered away. The teams went in at the break after a very entertaining and even first forty five minutes, however, little did we know that North End had booked their holidays starting at half time.
No changes for North End at the break but Sunderland brought on Alex Pritchard at half time in a move that changed the game. The visitors had the first chance of the second half in the opening minutes and after nine minutes of the second period they were ahead when Diallo curved a beautiful shot past Woodman into the net. From that moment there was no way back as North End were lost in a sea of uncertainty as the visitors went from strength to strength. North End had a chance at the other end when Bauer had a header saved but the game was over a few minutes later when Pritchard calmly slotted past Woodman with the keeper rooted to the spot. It wasnt long before the Black Cats made it three and the home fans started to drift out of Deepdale with twenty five minutes of the season left. Just how many of those will come back next season remains to be seen. Clarkes third goal was a sickening blow and although no further embarrassment was heaped on a sorry looking North End the scoreline was certainly reflective of the ninety minutes as a whole with North End fans wondering just where the hell does the club go from here.
So now the inquest begins on the 2022/23 season as North End finish one place higher than last season. I hope to God that I don`t hear the word progress used to described this season because I haven't seen any progress anywhere. A couple of very good loan signings have probably propped us up but the inconsistency of the team and the level of performance, generally, at home have shown absolutely no progress at all this term. When we are good we are a decent side but when we are awful, we are very awful with a distinct lack of an effective Plan B obvious to those who watch at home and away. To be honest the away form has been very good with thirty five points collected on the road, but the twenty eight points at home is relegation form and that is something which must be address. Last Summer North End talked the talk and so did the manager but it was all to no avail with no investment in the playing squad and no improvement from the dug out either. The fans played their part last Summer but even the promised thank you for that has failed to materialise. Big changes needed at Deepdale both on and off the field if this club are to progress, because we all know that in the Championship a target of consolidation usually means relegation at some point. I think our final league position flatters us and to say I am worried about next season is an understatement unless there are some significant strategic changes at the football club.

Hello! It's been a hot minute since I posted 😳 Thanks for sticking around!
(Clockwise from the top) Zachery, Daniel, Adrian, & Liam are the blundering protagonists of the roleplay podcast Dandies in Danger. If you enjoy queer, Regency shenanigans, you can find us on:
•YouTube
•Podomatic
•Google Podcast
•Apple Podcast
😎 We're partway through Arc 2!
This is the linework for the full-color piece that I posted over on the @dandiesindanger account. If you haven't seen it already, I included many more close-ups in that version. ^^
One thing that I didn't share in the finished version is the AMAZING REFERENCE PHOTO/INSPIRATION. Some of you classic horror fans might recognize Peter Lorre, Vincent Price, Boris Karloff, and Basil Rathbone. Their dynamic in this photo was too good to pass up! (°♡∀♡)

Personal thoughts on… The Unexpected Heiress… who killed Amelia Hayes?
Note: As the title says, these are just personal opinions on Choices books and chapters. Of course, you may agree or disagree with them, I only use this platform to express my thoughts on what I read every week.
Finally!! It’s been a while since the last time a book other than Open Heart gave me all those “I need to write about this” vibes I usually talk about. I didn’t think this book would surprise me.
The Unexpected Heiress is a VIP release that should be about to finish (my bet is that there are only two or three chapters left). If you haven’t had the chance to read it, and you don’t mind about spoilers, let me give you a little context: Amelia Hayes is an American girl who’s engaged to Francis Somerset, a British aristocrat, in an arranged marriage. One day, Amelia suddenly dies from natural causes. That’s when our MC (her default name is Lillian Hayes) must take Amelia’s place and marry Francis, even though they don’t want to marry each other. After a while, both Francis and the MC discover that Amelia was murdered, so they decide to fake an engagement to find out who killed her.
I’ll be super honest: the book is slow, it really seems like nothing happens and that the clues only lead you to dead ends, but once you’ve collected enough clues (there are many throughout the book!) and you can start guessing who killed Amelia, things become quite interesting. By now I have three main suspects (of course I may be wrong), so I’ll go discarding the possible murderers while explaining why I don’t think they killed her (or why I think they did). These are all the characters in the book:
Tumblr media
1. The Somerset family: This was an arranged marriage, so… why not? Well, after a few chapters we found out that Francis was truly in love with Amelia, to the point that he had started an investigation to discover the truth behind her death. Also, the Somersets have financial problems, so they needed Amelia’s family money to keep their status. Based on this, I think no one in this family is guilty of murder.
Tumblr media
2. The servants: Unlike most mystery books, the servants have nothing to do with Amelia’s death. At first, Effie seemed suspicious, but then she told us Amelia actually encouraged her to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse, so that was enough reason to discard her. As per Mrs. Watmore and Mr. Barnes, they sure hated Amelia… but in the end, they also needed the Somersets to keep their status for them to keep their jobs, so killing her would have been a non-sense.
Tumblr media
3. Our friends/LIs: The book has three LIs: John (who was already discarded as he is a Somerset), Gemma and Hugh. Gemma barely knew Amelia, and given the fact that she’s respected only because she was married to a Montjoy, you can bet she’d be Amelia’s best friend if she were alive. Hugh is the person in charge of managing the Hayes family finances in England and the only person that Amelia could have considered a friend, so I don’t think there’s a reason for him to want to see Amelia dead. Then we have Francis (who was already discarded) and Maude (she’s the MC’s and Amelia’s aunt and she LOVES them… I mean, why did I even add her here?). And finally, we have the McTavish (Isabelle and Ian)… why would they want to kill her after all the help they were receiving from her? No way!
Tumblr media
4. Family friends: Here is where things become interesting. We know most people hated Amelia for different reasons: because she was American, because she was different better than the rest of the women, because she had an opinion and was interested in politics, and of course, because she was beautiful and attracted “the wrong type of attention”. So how did I discard people? First, I thought about the bluffing characters. Nesbitt Tully hasn’t given us any real reasons to think he might be involved on it... at least not yet. So he is the one I think must be left out.
Tumblr media
Marquess Huntsbury (Vincent Seymour): Even though Vincent has a very close relationship with the Ambassador, by now it’s very clear that he shared the same ideals as Amelia, as he has been very verbal about them in the last few chapters. We also know about a watch that Amelia bought and that apparently appeared on Vincent’s wrist during the last chapter. So I think it’s very clear that he was working with Amelia, not plotting against her.
Percival Jennings: We know that Percival used to work for the Seymours. We also know that he hated Amelia, and that working for the Ambassador is like his “dream job”. I think Percival knew about the relationship between Vincent and Amelia; so Vincent felt forced to recommend Percival as an employee to the Ambassador to protect their secret.
The Ambassador (Liam Worthington): I still wonder if the Ambassador hates Amelia because of her political opinions or because of what Percival may have told him about her, but we do know that the plant that was used to kill Amelia came from his greenhouse… and we know he’s very kind to his friends, especially when they ask him some favors. So I think he only got involved on this by mistake and not because he wanted to make Amelia disappear.
Tumblr media
Based on the above, I only have three suspects left:
Baroness Pritchard (Nicolette): The Baroness was used to be the center of attention, the most beautiful woman, the one that every man wanted to marry… but her glory days are gone and apparently everyone forgot about her. Also, it looks like Amelia enjoyed the company of Baron Pritchard and that she considered him a friend, so I wouldn’t be surprised to discover that she was jealous of the attention that her husband was paying to the new girl.
Baron Pritchard (Stephen): This was a very last minute addition, and I didn’t have doubts about him until I started writing this post. But then I realized this man would do ANYTHING to show his wife how hopelessly devoted to her he is. Could he be capable of killing someone just to make her happy?
Marchioness Huntsbury (Rebecca Seymour): She is a very mysterious character. She is reserved, conservative (unlike her husband Vincent) and very traditional. She also seemed to have a good relationship with Amelia and some problems in her marriage. For me, there are two main reasons for her to want Amelia to disappear. The first one is jealousy. I’m thinking she may have discovered that Vincent and Amelia had some type of relationship and she may have thought they were having some kind of affair. The second one is politics. Rebecca was worried about the finances of her family and the amount of money her husband spent in games (did he truly used that money to make bets? or did he use it to support “the cause”?). Also, being against the crown and the imperialism was not an ideal position for an aristocrat at that time, so she may have tried to do something to “keep her husband out of danger”. Finally, no matter the motive, my guess is that she also asked Percival for help and that’s how he and the Ambassador ended up being part of this.
So… who killed Amelia Hayes?

Okay, Ranger's Apprentice fans, gather round!
For those who don't know, on the Discord server we often make memes and jokes about Gilan's lack of appearance (though let's be real, we do that here on Tumblr too). Some months ago I decided I would keep track of how many characters were given more complete descriptions than Gilan. As a reminder, here is a comprehensive description of Gilan from everything we get in the books:
He's tall
He's clean-shaven
I only counted characters from the main Ranger's Apprentice series (books 1 - 11) and The Early Years. There is a very scientific reason for this.*
There were some stipulations put into place, those being:
"Characters" were defined as figures who had both a name and at least one thing mentioned about their appearance. There are no characters in this study who don't have an appearance at all, which is why characters like Jurgen from The Early Years were excluded. At the urging of several members of the Discord server, several animals and Serthrek'nish (the mythical creature from Siege of Macindaw) were counted as "characters"
Cover art does not count as canon depictions of characters
Only features that were explicitly mentioned got counted in the description. Thus, things like skin colour weren't counted unless it was specifically alluded to. For all characters in The Emperor of Nihon-Ja, then, even though all Nihon-Jan characters could be assumed to have black hair, hair colour was only noted down as part of the description if it was actually mentioned
Clothes don't count as a description. Similarly, anything that was not purely physical didn't count, either. For instance, Halt is said to have "steady eyes", but as this is more of a character trait than a description it wasn't counted. Similarly, "beautiful" (and variations of it) isn't a description
If a character's appearance changes over time, the change isn't counted as part of their physical description as long as it references something that was already described. For example, Old Bob is mentioned as having brown hair in The Early Years, but white hair in Ranger's Apprentice - as these are both about his hair, this is not counted as two separate items in a description. Horace is mentioned as having a scar in Siege of Macindaw, which is a new physical feature, so because it's not describing something we already know about it counts as a new item in his description.
And with that, here we go! Raw data is provided below the cut.
Enjoy ^-^
* They were the only books I had access to. That's the very scientific reason.
The Stats
Following the criteria given above, there are 134 characters in Ranger's Apprentice and The Early Years. On average, they had 4.1 items in their physical description. Most characters overall had 2 items in their physical description, on par with Gilan.
80 characters have more complete descriptions than Gilan. On average, they had 5.9 items in their physical descriptions. Most of these characters had 3 items in their descriptions. By far the character with the most complete description is Norman, a character from The Battle of Hackam Heath, who has 20 items in his physical description. The runner-up is Kona, a character from The Emperor of Nihon-Ja, who has 15 items in his description. These represent 59.7% of all characters in the study.
28 characters have the same amount of physical description as Gilan (2 items in their description) and represent 20.8% of all characters in the study, whereas 25 characters had only one item mentioned in their physical description and represent 18.6% of all characters in the study (percentages are only counted to one decimal place, so they technically add up to 99.1%, but you get the picture).
Raw data below! Some character names are used more than once, which is why you might see what appear to be duplicates on the list. If you find yourself looking at a name and going "who?", well...exactly
Norman – 20 Kona – 15 Black O'Malley – 12 Morgarath – 12 Malcolm – 11 Alyss – 10 Berrigan – 10 Halt – 10 Keren – 10 Tennyson – 10 Serthrek'nish – 10 Arald – 9 John – 9 Nils – 9 Ragnak – 9 Demon Tooth – 8 Douglas – 8 Edwina – 8 Horace – 8 Old Bob – 8 Salt Peter – 8 Yusul – 8 Luka – 7 Montague – 7 Nimatsu – 7 Rosalind – 7 Shadow – 7 Cielema – 6 Farrel – 6 Ferris – 6 Niel – 6 Rodney – 6 Trobar – 6 Atsu – 5 Cormack – 5 Crowley – 5 Delia – 5 Deparnieux – 5 Duncan – 5 Egon – 5 Erak – 5 Robard – 5 Ryan – 5 Sean – 5 Tomas – 5 Umar – 5 Will – 5 Aman – 4 Cassandra – 4 Cedric – 4 Chubb – 4 Denison – 4 Ergell – 4 George – 4 Nialls – 4 Roberta – 4 Rob – 4 Robina – 4 Shigeru – 4 Xander – 4 Sir David Davidson – 3 Ebony – 3 Eiko – 3 Hassan – 3 Hilde – 3 Kyofu – 3 Jenny – 3 Liam – 3 Mussaun – 3 Orman – 3 Pauline – 3 Petulengo – 3 Phillip – 3 Poldaric – 3 Pritchard – 3 Selethen – 3 Ulf – 3 Abelard – 2 Alda – 2 Anthony – 2 Blaze – 2 Bran – 2 Bryn – 2 Deborah – 2 Farrel – 2 Gerald – 2 Gilan – 2 Griff – 2 Handel – 2 Jerome – 2 Killeen – 2 Kord – 2 Leander – 2 Margrit – 2 Marron – 2 Martin – 2 Mound – 2 Nuttal – 2 Peller – 2 Skinner – 2 Tiller – 2 Tom – 2 Tug – 2 Tug II – 2 Yorik – 2 Abelard I – 1 Ambrose – 1 Ayagi – 1 Barnaby – 1 Bart – 1 Carney – 1 Colly – 1 Cropper II – 1 Daniel – 1 Evanlyn – 1 Jerome – 1 Jerrel – 1 Jervis – 1 Joel – 1 Kelly – 1 Mikeru – 1 Nit'zek – 1 Oswald – 1 Ryan – 1 Sandra – 1 Saoud – 1 Teezal – 1 Wallace – 1 Warlock – 1 Willet – 1

Decided to have a little fun to relax from holiday dinner prep and cleaning by drawing the Dandies lads, but with a twist! I drew the LADZ how I imagined them looking BEFORE I saw any official art of them, based entirely on just listening to the first few episodes of season 1! As a bit of a bonus, I also decided to add some headcanons I have for the bois, if one can headcanon DnD characters?? Idk
Liam Bardsley
Tumblr media
- very active as a child
- broke his nose falling out of a tree
- pitbull energy: big, sweet, and protective
- if not for Regency Era Formality he would pick up his friends
Daniel Pritchard
Tumblr media
- charismatic and energetic but rather introverted
- this man is a greyhound, he is fast and playful but anxious
- has a strong sense of justice
- also rather protective of those he cares about
Adrian Edwards
Tumblr media
- filters are for chumps
- unapologetically honest
- cat friend, but like a fancy cat, like the kind that will only eat One Specific Kind of wet food
- similarly to Liam I feel like he'd be the kind of friend who climbs on his favourite people aka Liam
Zachary Wilkoss
Tumblr media
- I heard 'owlish fellow' and just assumed he had glasses and was Round, and also a book nerd
- also a cat friend, hence why he and Adrian butt heads alot, though Zachary is more of a 'feral cat you fed long enough it will approach you' kinda guy
- always panicking, even when he's calm it's just because he's panicking so hard he's ascended momentarily from his physical form
- a lot more reactionary than his friends, the most likely to be down for murder

I realized a day later that I have another update: I left a few shows off that last list because I had it in my head that I'd already listed those comedians once - for their 2023 shows - so I won't list them again. But that doesn't make sense. That last list of 2022 shows that were recorded and/or toured in 2023 which meant I got to hear a 2023 version of them, and it was really really good so it stands out when I think about the best shows I heard in 2023, should include:
Paul Foot – Swan Power
Alice Fraser – Chronos
Shelf – Hair
All people who turned around two great shows in two years. Also, I've just realized that Olga Koch's Prawn Cocktail wasn't filed properly and would probably be somewhere on some list if I'd remembered it. This is sounding more and more like a copout where I just list every show that I saw and didn't hate in 2023, but I promise, this is still cutting out a bunch of good ones. It turns out there's lots of good comedy out there. Those things I might have said in 2022 about being weirdly obsessed with the Chocolate Milk Gang generation and sorry I wasn't old enough/paying enough attention to catch the comedy they made then and now it doesn't exist in the same way anymore - I mean, that's actually still true, but it turns out they are in fact making very very good comedy now as well.
While I'm at this, I thought I'd do another list:
Comedians whom I knew little about before 2023, but I got into them during 2023 and went through as much of their back catalogue as I could, and now they're among my favourites, even though they do not appear on the above lists because I didn't hear their 2023 show. A bit of a long title, but it feels like a list that should go on my 2023 comedy roundup post:
- Michael Legge
- Jordan Brookes
- John Robins
- Sarah Keyworth (kind of, I saw their Dark Horse special in 2022 and really loved it, but I got to hear a bunch more of their stuff in 2023 and became a much bigger fan)
- Eleanor Morton
- Rhys James (I knew him from TV before, didn't know how much I liked him until I saw his stand-up in 2023)
- Kiri Pritchard-McLean (see note about Rhys James)
- Liam Williams (actually I mainly watched his TV shows and have only heard a bit of his stand-up, but still, one of my favourites)
- Phil Nichol
- John-Luke Roberts
- Danielle Ward
- Hari Kondabolu
- Nato Green
- Mike Birbiglia
That's what I did with my 2023. That, and I panicked about moving house a lot. It was a rough year, but the comedy made it a hell of a lot better than the circumstances should otherwise have been.
So, at the end of 2023, I was busy with trying to move house and deal with some other shit, and I did not do what I’d done at the end of the previous couple of years, which was make posts with year-end roundups. I thought I’d do that now.
I was going to do a list of my top ten favourite 2023 stand-up shows. Then I found that there were too many shows I wanted to include, so it turned into a top twenty. Then I told myself that that’s ridiculous, so did manage to narrow it down to a list of my ten favourites. But I kept the ten that I cut in a separate list of honourable mentions. While listing twenty whole shows seems like a cop-out, even narrowing it down that far was difficult, and a bunch of shows I liked got cut from both lists. That shows how very lucky I was last year, getting to hear so many stand-up shows that it was hard to choose just twenty favourites.
I’m defining a 2023 show as something that was performed in Edinburgh in 2023, whether or not the version I heard was from Edinburgh. I've put them in alphabetical order within their lists because it was hard enough to narrow down this much, I am not going to try to rank them by quality further.
Top ten:
Ahir Shah – Ends
Alice Fraser – Twist
Andrew O’Neill – Geburah
Laura Davis – Well Don’t Just Stand There Dancing
Paul Foot – Dissolve
Pierre Novellie – Why Are You Laughing?
Sam Campbell – he only performed one night in Edinburgh and it was called Bulletproof Ten, and I didn’t actually get to hear Bulletproof Ten, but I have heard some other 2023 stand-up nights where he did the same material so I’m pretty sure I’ve heard all the stuff that was in Bulletproof Ten, and therefore I can put that on this list
Stewart Lee – Basic Lee
Tom Ballard – It Is I
Zoe Coombs Marr – The Opener
Top ten shows that didn’t make the top ten but that I still wanted to include:
Adam Kay – Undoctored
Celya AB – Second Rodeo
Frankie Boyle – Lap of Shame
Ian Smith – Crushing
Ikechukwu Ufomadu – Amusements
Mark Watson – Search
Milo Edwards – Sentimental
Robin Ince – MELONS
Shelf – Teenage Men
Susie McCabe – Femme Fatality
Bonus list: shows that cannot be on the above list because they were 2022 shows that didn’t get done in Edinburgh in 2023, but did get toured in 2023, and/or got released as a recording in 2023 so I got to see them in 2023, and they were brilliant:
Grace Petrie – Butch Ado About Nothing
Greg Larsen – We All Have Bloody Thoughts
Huge Davies – The Carpark
Josie Long – Re-Enchantment (this hasn’t been recorded or anything, but I saw it live in Montreal in 2023)
Mae Martin – SAP
Nish Kumar – Your Power Your Control (I actually saw this live twice in 2022, once in Montreal and once in New York City, but the video recording came out in 2023)

Aidan Richards - Aidan used to be one of Sylvia’s kids, until he turned 22 and decided he wanted to try to live out on his own. He is non-verbal, but uses sign language to communicate to most people and when he’s working, he has label above his name tag that tells everyone that as well. Aidan currently works at Nikon Books in downtown Manhattan, usually making coffee or working the bakery counter, or restocking books and is also an art major with a specialization in textiles and print making. I’ve had him in my head up to his elbows in an Indigo drum in the back room of his class working on a project. He likes working in the art building after everyone else has gone home and because he’s autistic often wears noise-canceling headphones to keep himself from getting over stimulated in public places. The apartment he’s living in is currently being paid for by Sylvia and Liam until he gets a bit more to stand on. But he likes living on his own.
Elias Sharpe - Elias and I have been going rounds lately about what he wanted to look like and how he was going to function...and not incite any drama with his ex-husband. He is working to open his own restaurant in Las Vegas, at the newly opened Aria called Mon Ami, primarily French cusine with an artistic flair to it. After breaking from his husband, Nikolai Wolfe, Elias broke ties with Harvest in the Bellagio, as part of their divorce, and was basically told to sink or swim on his own, considering he was the cheater. A serial cheater, Elias can be underhanded at times and has ways of getting exactly what he wants.
The next two are part of a pair:
Owen Harridgan married Darius Pritchard around 10 years ago though the two were together for several years prior to that. Owen is a Literature professor at University College London, and has a very high standing there. Originally from Australia, he is calm, cool and collected at the best of times and a little dominating at times as well. He loves to read, and exercise, choosing usually to swim in one of the couples’ pools or work out in their private gym.
Darius Pritchard is...excuse me LORD Darius Pritchard is the head of security for the Moore family (among others) and damn near as dangerous as he looks. He has a sweet side, but it takes some time to get through to it and he’s very selective about the people he chooses to associate himself with. He fell head over heels for Owen when he was visiting Auckland and ultimately ended up bringing the other man back with him for a life of luxury and pampering. Darius is also a Dom in the bedroom, which means he and Owen sometimes switch but are ultimately looking for someone that they could bring in as a third part of their family.
They had someone about a year ago but she fell in love with him and not Owen and in the end they had to make a very difficult decision. Darius is now suggesting they go a bit slower with their prospective other half, wanting a family, children in the future and to give them anything and everything they could ever desire in their lives. So long as that person is willing to “play” with them and be their Sub.
Second to last is Marissa Clairmont - Marissa writes poetry, plows through books like they’re weeds that need to be cleared out and is generally a very bubbly young woman, though she does have one minor issue. She has a strange form of epilepsy that has caused her to fall or black out in her classes. She is currently in Owen’s literature class and sits on the bottom row right up front in case she has one of these absence seizures and falls from her chair. The seizures do not affect any other part of her life, except for not being able to drive a car, though she lives on campus and nearly everywhere is within walking distance.
Lastly, John Winchester. The patriarch of the Winchester family is not dead but has instead been underground, so to speak, working with Justice Malone to determine where the demons is that killed his wife and set him and his sons down the path of hunting. With the help of Section, he’s been learning a lot about where he’s gone wrong teaching his boys and how archaeic some of their solutions to demons, witches and otherwise actually is.

ranger directory
I went through the wiki’s Ranger category and made a list of Rangers that we probably all forgot about:
ALUN, retired in KoC, former Ranger of Whitby.
ANDROSS, senior Ranger in KoC (his apprentice graduated at the Gathering), Ranger of Carraway Fief.
BARTELL, Ranger of Seacliff before Will.
BERRIGAN, retired as of/before SotN, plays the gitarra, lost a leg in a fight with Skandians.
BERWICK, one of the Rangers displaced by Morgarath who travelled with Halt and Crowley in The Early Years.
CEDRIC, older than Crowley and Halt when they travelled together in TEY.
CLARKE, assigned to Seacliff after Will left, graduated in KoC.
DENISON, challenged Halt and Crowley’s authority when he showed up in BoHH. He had served the King for ten years and when ousted from Araluen by Morgarath, served as a forester in Teutlandt. His horse is named Sparrow.
EGON, about twenty years older than Halt and Crowley, former Ranger of Seacliff. He had given twenty-three years of service to the crown in ToG.
FARREL, former Ranger of Redmont, wields a battleax, travelled with Halt and Crowley in TEY.
GELDON, a retired Ranger as of ER who lives at Araluen. Advised Cassandra at one point over unseen movement
HARRISON, took over Norgate after Will left (at least for a period of time, I think?).
JURGEN, part of Halt and Crowley’s group, died in BoHH in the raid on Morgarath’s shields.
KANE, shown in in RR as one of Gilan’s trainees. (according to the wiki. I have absolutely no recollection of his character)
LEANDER, Ranger of Dacton Fief, a couple years older than Halt and Crowley. They recruited him in TEY to reform the Corps.
LEWIN, a less experienced Ranger in ToG, having completed two years of service.
LIAM, first-year apprentice in KoC, killed in Royal Ranger by Jory Ruhl when his horse went over a trip wire.
MERALON, the former arrogant Ranger of Norgate that Will thought was a snob and a fool.
MERRON, a Ranger that was going to assess Will in his first year.
NICHOLL, Corps Commandant under Oswald that was accused of treason by Morgarath.
NICK, a first year apprentice in KoC.
NORRIS, travelled with Halt and Crowley in TEY, a good fisher.
PRITCHARD, Halt and Crowley’s mentor, returned to Araluen in ToG only to be killed by Morgarath
SAMDASH, a Ranger slightly older than Halt and Crowley, headstrong. He led his own group of Rangers before they met up with Halt and Crowley, and he ceded leadership only reluctantly.
SKINNER, takes over Coledale Fief upon graduating in KoC.
STUART, a first year apprentice shown in KoC.
