you do you but i could never because i love dairy and eggs too much. i also have a crazy metabolism and meat alternatives don't always sate my Hunger (but i do LOVE tofu esp when it's cooked well <33)

THANKS FOR THE ASK LEXY 🤩 1. welll i first started listening to the stones cos of my mum, she likes them quite a lot. and then i started getting rlly into them when i relistened to sticky fingers in like. late september or october and was like hold on. this is rlly good?? and from there i also started realising how hot mick and keith were, leading me into the mick jagger simping hell i reside in today :) 2. this is soooo hard to choose omg. i think if i had to choose one? it would have to be hey negrita. so iconic. but i also want to shout out too much blood and emotional rescue. gotta be honest a lot of my mv opinions are based on how good mick looks in them <33 3. let it bleed for sure. not the one i started with and not my favourite lol, but i think it's just such a solid album there are no weak songs on it, it's enjoyable start to finish. some girls i would also say that about BUT i think why i would go with let it bleed over some girls is it's position right in the middle of the 'golden era' for the stones as it were. from let it bleed you can go backwards to beggars banquet and explore the 60s stuff or you can go forwards to sticky fingers and explore the mick t era and you're most likely gonna have a good time. some girls as much as i love it is a bit more of a standalone album, while definitely also essential listening not as suited for getting you into their discography as a whole imo. also let it bleed has gimme shelter and everyone loves gimme shelter

9. Before dating, did either of you ever have any embarrassing moments? (Examples: Socially awkward moments, almost accidentally revealing your feelings to them, being clumsy, etc.)

definitely!!! nothing too bad but we both certainly got rather flustered sometimes. we’re not exactly the most experienced people in terms of dating so the nerves were high at first, maybe even more so with suga. i mean have you seen when kiyoko took his hands that one time 😭😭 he was flipping out lmfao and tbh that didn’t change much shdjdddjdjdi

also my adhd brain be going brrrrr sometimes so i’d probably see suga while picking my brother up from school, get excited and then like… almost trip over a stick or something because i stopped paying attention to the ground 😭

his calm energy helps balance me out tho. he obv gets nervous but he keeps it in check and reassures me when i get embarrassed about talking too much or too fast because i’m anxious/excited. i feel like i’m always saying dumb, incoherent, or crazy stuff bc my brain is a ping pong ball which makes me wanna die, and he might tease me a bit but he never truly minds. i’m a bit vulgar and wild but he often finds it entertaining.

no tbh once i'm in deep with suga i'm convinced that no other man exists like that's it pack it up everybody. he's the same way with me but i have trouble believing it for a while and i get nervous when he has to talk to his students' moms and shit because he's so cute and sweet asoijfwoiefj i don't do anything toxic but i'm always just waiting for the day when he loses interest in me LOL but that has yet to happen <3 he's a faithful ass bitch i love him. we also both have very minimal dating histories so there aren't any exes getting in the way of anything!! begone thots

(( All of my current writing partners, tbh. As most of the people following me on here have/can see: I don’t branch out often (I am trying to change that though AND my lack of branching out is because of awful experiences in the past) so I mean current faves are my current writing partners. 

I have some I talk to more irl or geek out with over HCs and all that though and that list is longer too so i will do a cliffnotes version b/c (ngl questions like this spike my anxiety) reasons (: in no specific order: 

@from-elphame we’ve been talking more lately and even before that I enjoyed seeing them on my dash. we stan about potential plots, HCs for our muses then nerd out about how another muse would interact with them, it’s all very fun, world-buildy and plotty stuff and I ADORE THEM. also plus they are just a general sweetheart with deep love for their muses. 

@mirrcrxball loveee love love <3 i mean that can literally sum it up but Su is a darling human and has been keeping my ass sane through ooc a lot more than i’m sure she realizes. I fall off the face of the earth sometimes but know i can always come to her if/when needed. not to mention all the shippy goodness.

Let The Flames Begin: Tune Tuesday

Alright y’all might have seen that this account’s been starting up for the first time in a while. We’re actually going around and doing stuff, cool. There’s one simple reason for that, and this is me, Lexi, the one behind this whole thing talking: I’ve decided to cut out all the toxic people in my life and extend my vetting for letting new people in. (queue this music because I’m allowed to have musical overlays on my textposts it’s tuesday! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_ohWuaNPWo ) If you’ve been reading my other posts you can probably piece it all together, but in the last 6 months I found myself a decent friend group at college... at least I thought I did. See, originally it was just me and this real chill guy who I won’t say the name of because internet, so I’ll just call him E. E and I met up near the start of the school year because E was just such an approachable person that even I could overcome my big NPC energy to talk to him. We got to talking, and decided it would be cool to start up a club for RPGs at the school, so that players and gamemasters could draw from a pool of people to make sure everyone got the experience they wanted. Then came D (again, not their name because privacy, but also y’know, I can’t resist calling him a D because he’s a d i c k), he was originally pretty chill, but almost immediately he ripped the club idea from my hands and decided all on his own without any input from me or E or anyone else that the club was going to include all tabletop games. Alright not at all what the club was supposed to be about, but okay. So a month rolls by, and D has determined that the club is going to do RPGs at most once a month. You know, the thing we were designed around in the first place, not ‘each campaign once a month’ which I could vaguely see to prevent burnout but nah, nah he means ‘one official club campaign session spread across all campaigns per month’. What. The. Fuck. Then it’s October, and I’ve got this cool idea, reverse trick-or-treating, you know that thing where you go door to door and give people candy? It was gonna be nice, and cool, and I told the whole friend-group about it at the start of October. Other shit happened in October regarding people I look up to and the discontinuation of my absolute favorite show, so there’s that. But the important thing to this post happened on Halloween, that day when they all said they’d join me going around giving people candy, and we’d all have a good time. I’d arranged it for six... six rolls around, no one’s there. I check the group discord, and I’m like ‘hey, where is everybody?’ only response is from E, saying that most people are at dinner and we should probably reschedule to later. I reply that it’s understandable and rearrange for 8. I get a message from B (only time she’s mentioned) saying she’ll be able to show up for sure. No one showed up. Only one person at 10 who came to console me because I kinda exploded in the discord server because I’d been planning this all month and no one fucking showed up. Yeah I cried myself to sleep that night, don’t judge. So now it’s November, and I finally put into action a plan I’d wanted to work on since the start of college: A larp league at the school, only problem is I’m going to have to craft the system from nothing. Alright, I’ve got inspiration from said favorite show ever that was cancelled in october, I’m going to base it around that. I then tell everyone in the friend group and they encourage me, I tell them I’ll be running a christmas event after thanksgiving break, they say that’s awesome. That’s when I realized I’m going to need to make over 1200 abilities because each of the 40 classes needs 33 abilities. I asked them for any suggestions, got a grand total of 0. So I worked my ass off, far more than is healthy, and got... absolutely nowhere because there was no chance in the first place. Right before thanksgiving break I tell them ‘hey, there’s no chance of me finishing the whole system in time, we’ll use a simplified edition i’ll come up with now’ they gave approval. I made a whole mini-system on 3 hours of sleep. I went home for thanksgiving break and caused my whole family extra stress during their move by needing to make swords for this event. So the day of the event rolls around, I’ve got everything set up, I’m out of the field, waiting. The event starts at 11, and that’s when i get there. No one’s there. ‘That’s okay’ I figure, ‘they’re not exactly punctual, they’ll be here in 15-20 minutes’. They are not. At 11:30, E shows up, I ask him where the fuck everyone is. Turns out B is still asleep despite giving me confirmation she’d be here last night, D and the rest of the group are at breakfast and have no intention of showing up despite being 25 seconds away, and E doesn’t see anything wrong with this. I waited until noon, still no one, so I gave up and headed back to my dorm, I’d informed them on the discord that if no one showed up by noon I’d cancel. And I fucking seethed. These people didn’t give a single fuck about me, or my time, or my effort. And after a few hours of calming down, past the tears, past the attempts at breaking things, I got onto the discord server, and I told them, in no indirect terms, that repeatedly encouraging people to devote time and effort to projects for the group, to get them excited for their events, to say that you’ll be there, and then all ghost without a word was absolutely abusive and I didn’t want that in my life. Instead of even a single attempt at an apology, or even a bullshit excuse, they all started yelling at me and kicked me from the server, the club, and the friendgroup. So that’s where I am. I don’t give a single fuck about people who disrespect my time. I don’t give a single fuck about people who think that just because someone has bigger problems than me my problems don’t exist. I don’t give a single fuck about people who bail on plans without a warning or remorse. And I feel so free. So I’m turning all the effort on projects I was making for those toxic assholes inward, I’m making the shit I love, and if you don’t enjoy it, you don’t have to be around me or use my stuff. Sure the first few apprentice games and such will be free, and the proof-of-concept for anything will be free, but if I’ve put in serious effort? If i’ve put in 150 hours already (like on a certain larp system...) and it’s not even a tenth of the way done? You bet your left buttock that I’m not giving that away for free. If I’m going to make something I want to get something out of it. So there’s that. And just because I know I need help here, I do have some open positions: Sabrina needs a pilot, and that’s the fancy lore way of saying I desperately need an artist, because my art is shit and while I have no idea how to make UI-interactive games, I’m going to try my best to learn. Elluwen needs a pilot, and that’s still a fancy way of saying I need playtesters. I’ve been relying on my friend groups too much for this, posting a message about this new game I’ve got that’s nearly done, and waiting 2 weeks to get a single person to even try to play it. Meanwhile I’m playing it repeatedly to try to find bugs and their version is almost completely replaced. and several more... honestly to just put it clearly: I need reliable people in my life, and if that means setting up a patreon for people to see sneak peaks and be playtesters through, wonderful! If I can find an artist willing to be on call for my projects, and of course still pursue their own endeavors, I can’t afford a full-time artist, that’s amazing.

I slowly get up and get dress; a light pink t shirt and some black leggings and my Nike's.  I leave my hair down and head downstairs.

"Hi honey. Going to Starbucks with Lexi?" My mom asks as I grab the keys to my Jeep.

"Bye honey. Oh we're going Santa Monica today so we won't be home today until like nine or ten tonight. I left some money in the cookie jar like always."

I hop in my Jeep and head off to Lexi's. I arrive about fifteen minutes later and honk the horn. She comes right out and laughs.

She jumps in and says, "that's no way to treat your date."

"Oh I'm sorry. Next time I knock on your door and introduce myself to your mom."

"That's a good date."

I just laugh and turn back up the radio and head to the Starbucks from yesterday. Once we get to Starbucks I park the Jeep by a tree on the other side of the parking lot from yesterday.

"So where did it happen?" Lexi randomly says and I look at her confused. "Your scandalous meeting."

"It wasn't scandalous. It was just a conversation but it was over there, where that je-," I stop talking when I realize it's the Jeep from yesterday. The only reason I definitely know it's the Jeep from yesterday is because there a sticker of the gym from yesterday.

"Is that their Jeep? Mia? Are you okay?"

"I didn't think I would ever see them again."

"Maybe they do this everyday and you didn't know? Do you wanna go in?"

"No no no."

"Do you need me to drive?"

I shake my head no at her, "I'm okay, I just need a second."

"Take all the time you need."

I take a deep breath when I see someone come out of Starbucks carrying two drinks and a bag, it looks like Kyle from yesterday. He walks over the the passenger side and get in. The Jeep pulls away and I can sorta see the driver. He has a pink baseball hat on and a white crewneck.

"Was that one of them from yesterday?"

I simply nod my head.

"Oh my god," Lexi says.

"Both."

"Both?"

"Both of the guys."

I just sit there shocked a little. I don't know why this is hitting me so much. I take a deep breath. "Okay I'm good, let's go inside."

"You sure?"

I nod and turn off the Jeep and unbuckle my seatbelt. Lexi follows suit and we head inside. We order our stuff and sit down by the windows.

"Hey I'll be right back," I say to Lexi and head to the bathroom.

I come back from the bathroom when I see Lexi talking to some guy. I walk closer when I see who it is. I turn around and walk back to the bathroom.

"What is he doing here? He can't be here when Jamey is on his way." I start pacing back and forth in the bathroom. "Think Mia, think. Text Lexi!" I say a little too loudly in the empty bathroom.

Mia: what is he doing here and why are you talking to him?

Lexi🤪: relax he just came over and started talking to me.  Lexi🤪: he's leaving when he gets his order.

Mia: tell me when he leaves I'm not coming out.

My stomach starts to growl and I groan at it. "I know I'll feed you once Travis leaves. I can't believe he has to the nerve to show up here, on Sunday of all days when he knows that we always come here."

Lexi🤪: he's getting in his car

I slowly walk back out just in case he comes back in. I get over to Lexi and sit down.

"What did he have to say for himself?"

"He saw me and came over like we were long lost bestie." Lexi makes a gagging noise and I smile. "He said he misses you."

"He he misses me?" I say a little loudly and everyone looks at me. "Sorry", I whisper. "He misses me?, I whisper yell to Lexi and she nods. "He didn't miss me when he broke up with me out of the blue and come to find out he was cheating on me."

"Calm down Mia. Let's not go there again. You are over him and his bullshit."

"I know I just didn't want to see him and I kinda invited Jamey to come hang with us," I say the last part quickly and hide behind my hands.

"You did what?"

"I invited Jamey to hang out here," I put my hands down and bite my lip looking at Lexi.

"Answer me one thing. Do you have feelings for him?"

"I barely know him of course not," I lie. "I just wanna get to know him more. Honestly I would be very surprised if he showed up. He didn't really say he was coming he just said and I quote "I'll see what I can do".

"'Maybe. How long do you wanna wait?"

"Maybe an hour? I'm not sure."

"Okay let's see where we are in an hour then we'll see."

"Sounds good."

Around forty-five minutes later we're done with our Starbucks and just talking and hanging out when I see a car pull up in front of the building and I look at Lexi. "Nope not him," I frown a little.

"He still has fifteen minutes," she says and I nod. "I'll be right back gotta go to the bathroom."

I give her a thumbs up and she gets off and heads off to the restroom. I hear the bell ding on the door and I look up and see Kyle. I try to make eye contact with him but he sees me and walks over.

"Hi beautiful."

I look up and smile, "hi Kyle. How are you?"

"I'm good Mia. Are you here alone again?"

"No my friend is in the restroom. Weren't you here earlier?"

"Uh yeah how'd you know?"

"When we showed up, you and Jason were leaving. Where's he at? I never see you without him."

"Oh he's at a meeting downtown, I'm supposed to be picking up him a protein box then we're going to my house to hang out for awhile."

I hear the door squeak from the restroom and see Lexi walking over to us. "I was gone two minutes Mia, two minutes."

I just start laughing. "Lexi my love this is Kyle. Kyle this is Lexi."

"Kyle kyle?"

"Oh I'm famous," Kyle says and laughs a little.

I roll my eyes at Kyle. "I told her about yesterday, you're not that famous."

"I am pretty famous actually."

Lexi and I both look at him. "How?" I say.

"I'm famous with the ladies."

"Oh how come I've never heard of you then," Lexi says.

"You have heard of me babe, from Mia." He says and laughs a little.

"You're a dork you know that?"

"Yeah N- Jason says that all the time. Speaking of him he should be getting out of his meeting soon so I should go."  "Okay. See you around Kyle."

"Nice seeing you too and nice meeting you Lexi," Kyle says and smiles at us. He leaves us and heads up to the counter and orders his stuff and leave.

"Where was his friend?" Lexi asks.

"Oh at some meeting downtown, oh my god. So if he was at a meeting he has to be famous."

"It's Noah I told ya."

I just look her and shake my head at her. My phone buzzes on the table and I pick it up.

"We can go now. Maybe next time," I say and look at Lexi.

She gets out and heads inside while I back out and head towards my house. I get home a little bit later and head inside. I go up to my room and grab my laptop and start a playlist that Noah posted on Twitter. I lay back on my bed and the next thing I know is that it's dark outside.

I lean up and look at my phone, nine-oh-three. I see a few notifications.

6.   Single or multiple POV?

I prefer single POV most of the time. But in cases like the Throne of Glass series, where I was invested in (almost) all the characters, I didn’t mind multiple.

13.  Describeyour writing process from idea to polished

Um … a lot of the time (in the past anyway) my ideas stem from a single character, or sometimes I’m lucky enough to have a title before literally anything else. I’ve come up with titles before that just sent my brain into overdrive and THEN the story ideas came after. Otherwise, I note things down, such as character descriptions, some archetypes, possible names, etc. then I build the hero’s purpose and create the plot from there. 

I’ve never done a complete outline for a book; my brain just can’t seem to make it that far. So I make a bunch of notes about random shit and then just pants it. This probably has a lot to do with me never finishing anything.

I don’t have an exact process. A lot of the time everything remains in note-form. And, to be honest, my approach to a story is different depending on what I’m trying to write. 

17.  Whatwriting habits or rituals do you have?

I wish I knew! I’m too unfocused; I’m always changing the surroundings that I write in, or what I have in arm’s reach that I might need. Sometimes I listen to music, sometimes I don’t. Sometimes I refer to notes, other times I completely ignore them.

I guess the only things that stays the same is the font type/size I write in.

I like to write Fantasy and Contemporary. I try to dabble in other stuff but I’m not very good at it. And I love YA Fantasy/Fantasy. There’s a lot of hills in Fantasy that I will gladly die on.

Emotional or intense scenes between characters, whether it’s the hero and their friends or love interest, or the good guys vs the bad guys. It’s just such a rush getting all the angst or anger or hate or intimacy on the page. Even fight scenes - I love writing fight scenes.

Love that moment, and I was so into it that it’s become one of my favourite chapters.

Yes. Lots of times. I try to make sure it makes sense for the story, though, and not just kill them for the feels and tragedy of it all. I like tragic heroes, but it has to be in the right context. 

34.  Whatwas the hardest scene you ever had to write?

When I first wrote Freefall (all of which, by the way, was difficult to write) there were two scenes that broke me, and I had to take a week or two away from the story just to get back in the right frame of mind to even consider continuing it.

I don’t see the point in keeping this spoiler-free so … the first was the suicide scene, and the second was Lexi’s panic attack when she realises that she’s about to lose everything she waited her whole life to have. 

They were two scenes that resonated with me so deeply that I’m not sure I could even begin to explain why. That novel is extremely personal to me, more so than anything else I’ve ever or will ever write. There’s a lot of raw emotion, and it’s taken me 10 years to look at it again and say, “It’s time to re-write it.”

38.  Weirdeststory idea you’ve ever had

I don’t think I’ve ever had one, if I’m being totally honest. I like reading weird and crazy stuff but it’s not really something I consider a strong point in writing. I think I’m too straight-laced to try writing anything weird or funny!

44.  Howmuch research do you do?

Okay, time for the shame …

I barely research unless it’s something very specific. While research can be important, I’m definitely of the mindset of just allowing yourself to be creative and just write what you want to write. There are plenty of ways to mark certain things you’re not sure about as you’re writing (and go back to it later), but I don’t like to keep stopping just to look something up. And I don’t believe that people research absolutely everything before they start - I called bullshit on that with a teacher once and I stand by it. 

I find the problem with research is that it never stops. At most, I like to read a little bit about creative writing to see if I can apply certain methods to my ideas, but it kinda ends there.

45.  Howmuch world building do you do?

… again, not a lot. And for someone who writes Fantasy, that’s a bit of a hindrance. I get judged for this one quite a lot actually and it sucks. 

I made a proper effort with The Divine because, even objectively, the world was small, it didn’t make sense, and there was no depth. All my focus went to the characters, but they ended up in a world that may as well have been four walls and a roof. I’m definitely not at epic levels of world-building, but I’m better than I was this time last year for sure.

What do you call each other: i call him tetsu, dumbass (all insults tbh but make it affectionate) and he calls me whatever comes to mind. it could be something really sweet or something appallingly cheesy.

Who confessed first: he did. it was really natural and in the moment. kind of one of those times when we just sat together and were casually sitting and talking about everything and nothing when it just smoothly slipped out his tongue. kind of freaked out after until i held my hand against his mouth and said it back. mf smiled and licked my hand.

How long you have been together: a couple months. known each other much longer tho. we’re both the kind to not move things ahead without knowing the other person and making sure its evident that the other likes us.

Are you affectionate: i’d say i’m somewhere in the middle. It’s a little hard for me to initiate affection in public but pretty okay in private. I’d shy away from holding hands and he’ll probably notice and tease me about it before holding his hand in mine.

Okay so for my friend group, he doesn’t really interact with them much but whoever he does they’re all friendly. Mainly because we’re the private but not secret couple if that makes sense.
