WHY INVESTING IN YOURSELF WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE
"The best thing you can do is to be exceptionally good at something," said Buffett. He added, "Whatever abilities you have can't be taken away from you. They can't actually be inflated away from you. ... So the best investment by far is anything that develops yourself, and it's not taxed at all."
- Warren Buffet
There is a reason people call Mr. Buffet the "Oracle/Sage Of Omaha".
Not only he is great at asset management and making the right predictions when it comes to the financial markets, but he is also very wise and offers great advice.
Investing in your own self is the only type of investment you can make that is absolutely safe and guaranteed to give you a return on investment that would satisfy you.
Knowledge is fuel. You are the vehicle.
We are living in times of abundance. Knowledge and data curation is the hottest skill someone can learn right now. That's what AI models like ChatGPT do. They curate useful data from trash. That's what you should also do with your mind. Throw out what's hindering your growth and feed your brain with nutritious food for thought.
We are nearing the "Age Of Abundance", the Golden Saturnian Age of our times. Don't fall into oblivion.
The resources are within a finger's reach. You are actually holding the most precious asset in your hands right now, that's how I reached you.
Whoever takes advantage of this situation will succeed.
Read books, articles, essays. Watch videos and documentaries. Educate yourself for free. If you have the ability to get a university degree for free, do it ! Don't fall in the trap of "degrees are useless". Instead choose to educate yourself in subjects that interest you and make you even more savvy. Invest in evergreen skills. Learn content creation, marketing and money management. Study philosophy to learn the art of critical thinking.
In the next 10 years we will all transform from 9 to 5 slaves to freelancers and one-person businesses. This is where we are headed. Notice all the lay-offs and how artificial intelligence has taken the world by storm.
Be proactive.

person of interest and leverage are both hidden gems of late 2000's/early 2010's cable tv that you expect one thing out of (a typical procedural show of the era) and get something else that is completely mind blowing and difficult to really describe
#like i could absolutely wax poetic about both#poi for its perspective on state surveillance and AI and government corruption#leverage for its criticism of capitalism and the legal evils of the system#i just. they're so good! theyre fascinating shows and i just want to sit people down and make them watch#rk.txt

if all this is such an "open secret" then fine. someone leak what happened then. or what? scared dream will debunk you with the receipts he has? like all of these ccs are just as terrible for holding onto that information for so long and now teasing us with that information without the victims consent(assuming there is a victim) all for fucking morality points.
my guess would be that dteam r men who like to fuck around with a variety of women, and realistically some of the women they fuck around with expect more, or don't appreciate dismissal after the fact. obviously total speculation, but it does seem like the kind of baseline douchebaggery that would give them a reputation behind the scenes with nothing concrete to really 'cancel' them for
#cq.asks#saying dteam in general bc they're being dealt with as a group rn i guess#as unfair as ai think that might end up being#and yeah. there are underlying problems with being men in power who can fuck around with little to no repurcussions#but this kind of thing potentially being leveraged at the same time as abuse/sa is just. dumb#but obviously I could be wrong!#but with the lack of info rn this is just my current hypothesis

As much as I enjoy fanon where Adam is a mastermind general, NGL that's probably not supported by canon.
He's leading attacks on a population that can't effectively fight back. They're being attacked from the air, and the Exorcists are essentially invulnerable. They're all 100% skill points invested in the Attack stat, 0% in Defense. As far as everyone knows, it's pointless, so why bother? This is the very thing that Camilla exploits.
I'm not sure that's very "mastermind general" coded. It IS efficient, we could assume that he had something to do with training his girls to be as efficient as possible, so there's that. We could even imagine that he understands how to best use his warriors and leverage the terrain to corner the biggest group of (civilian, for the most part) sinners possible.
Sinners likely fight back if only to attempt to escape, so we could even give Adam extra credit and say that he's trained his girls to deal with counterattacks (most meant to immobilize them for a bit because, again, invulnerable) by having them work on groups and just, force their way through whatever trap is being set around them as quickly as possible. I do like the idea that he helped all his Exorcists be the best they could be, keeping his idea of what a perfect soldiers looks like in mind of course.
But when we see Adam fight, as Alastor correctly calls out, he's sloppy. As others have pointed out, had Alastor not been so prideful to not arm his minions + tentacles with Angelic steel, he would've killed Adam within five minutes. Adam is not very agile, his attack speed is nothing to write home about when compared to the people he fought (even Charlie manages to dodge some of his attacks, and being the pacifist she is she's likely the least trained in combat), and in true exorcist fashion he tanks rather than deflect/avoid most hits.
Every time he managed to turn the tables and harm one of the Hazbins, it was by using raw power. And yeah, he did use the element of surprise in those three occasions (attacking Alastor, killing Serpentious, catching Charlie in a chokehold. IG you could count his attempt at bodying Lucifer + attacking the Morningstar's from the back too), but it reads as more instinct/impulse than strategy.
I mean, it makes sense. The man was a hunter, a farmer later in life, then probably didn't do much in heaven until he was tasked with the Exterminations. Until they domesticated some animals, he probably picked easy prey that would relatively give him the highest reward to risk ratio, and since he was probably hunting on his own or with small support (maybe Eve when she wasn't pregnant, maybe some sons later in life) they had to be quick and surprise their prey. But relying on domestication was still preferable.
So he had to be efficiency minded. What I like to think is that he's probably a better trainer than he is a strategist, and if forced he'd be better at coaching people to survive in a situation where they have little resources/tools at hand, and little knowledge of the environment they'd be thrust in. Surviving a wasteland and managing to build the pillars of, maybe not society, but at least self sustaining communities requires some observational skills and good memory after all (although NGL Eve probably helped here. I refuse to steal credit from her to give it to Adam, let's not forget that modern anthropology theorises that agriculture was probably pioneered mainly by women).
And, he's definitely an "the best defense is to attack first" kind of guy. For better and for worse, of course.
#rambles#Adam Hazbin Hotel#kind of love that all the Exorcists are trained as tanks with high speed and high attack stats#but they're not true tanks. it's like facing a Ghost/Steel pokemon#only two weakness lol#anyways just thinking and pondering lol. he's like the anti-thesis of an Ai Kido instructor???#“maintain harmony and leverage your opponents strength against them”? no bitch!#Rush at them from their blind spot and land a critical on their balls.#now let's go train you punches until you can crack a skull with a left hook.#hazbin rambles

genuine take I saw which I shan't source to both avoid the original blog and because it doesn't matter because I doubt any amount of back and forth will reconcile the fundamental disagreement. but the idea that using AI to auto generate art (here including music and writing) instead of hiring a person on fiverr to do it because the concept of fiverr is exploitative (not untrue) is fucking absurd. 1) I don't know about anyone else but I live in a world where people need money even though that sucks and isn't fair, and therefore I think a human getting money to make the art you want but don't want to/can't produce is inherently superior to massive swathes of created art being ripped off to auto generate you something (even setting aside specific cases where such work is then used for commercial purposes), and 2) fiverr IS inherently expoitative. you can help by paying the person you hire more money instead of exploiting them, or just fucking living with the fact that the art you want is beyond your reach for now.
like no it's not fair that there's a website where freelancers are forced to undercut each other in order to find any work at all, frequently from people who enjoy the bloodsport of watching them compete. it seems like we should solve that systemic problem instead of making it so that none of them can ever make any amount of money.
#.txt#and not to be the biggest bitch in the world but it's always HUGE com/mu/nist blogs#who I don't even necessarily disagree with on other topics but their takes on AI are ALWAYS fucking aggro towards....people???#worker's rights except when it comes to not being able to generate a picture of me as a knight#in a room with the couch sitting in front of the stairs#I love the thing corporations are using to cut off the livelihoods of their workforce and remove their only leverage over their bosses

I think..... I think I'm just gonna go to bed?
and - ideally - wake up around 8 to try again. I'm so tired, my head hurts, I'm just. not doing anything useful anyway.
my brother is gonna come over again tomorrow to help me read through everything I've got and stuff like that, so hopefully I'll be done by then. but if not, well, I just have to get it done by Thursday. early enough to get it printed. but. yeah. it'll work out somehow
#lets just say... I'm still opposed to ai in most contexts and I'd never use something like chatgpt for this stuff but#there's useful tools that make reading articles way faster and it's the only thing that's saving me rn :)#yeah yeah I hate myself etc. who cares it's whatever#I'm studying business and I won't work in this field and I'm not getting any more degrees so I will literally never need any of this#information again anyway. so I don't fucking care :)#personal#now how much leverage can I watch before I fall asleep. that's the important thing here

Most of my student cohort and some of the professors in my counseling program lean left. It seems that most of us are against capitalism, yet at the same time we are bound by its rules. Interns are regularly exploited; professors openly admit the need to be in private practice (to make a living). The demand for mental health services is expected increase in the coming years, but so is wealth inequality. Where is this all leading? You tell me.
#it’s looking bleak#as an aside — i’m just not convinced that therapy is the solution to the coming problem: which is socioeconomic collapse#and further (with the rise of artificial intelligence) i’m afraid that employers will leverage (ai) therapy to breed complacent workers#after all what’s the point of trying to change society if you can just change your perception of it?#this is my nightmare fuel :))#personal

I have been slightly obsessed with this all week and this post added some new details for me. The Unknown! I am crying. Those poor actors.
It also reminds me of the comment John Rogers made years ago re: Leverage that every single time the network sent script notes saying “this seems over the top, no?” it was inevitably something they’d more or less transcribed from real life.
Increasingly of the belief that Leverage is a documentary. (And a lightly fictionalized version of this would make an excellent episode)
I have been on a Willy Wonkified journey today and I need y'all to come with me
It started so innocently. Scrolling Google News I come across this article on Ars Technica:
At first glance I thought what happened was parents saw AI-generated images of an event their kids were at and became concerned, then realized it was fake. The reality? Oh so much better.
On Saturday, event organizers shut down a Glasgow-based "Willy's Chocolate Experience" after customers complained that the unofficial Wonka-inspired event, which took place in a sparsely decorated venue, did not match the lush AI-generated images listed on its official website.... According to Sky News, police were called to the event, and "advice was given."
Thing is, the people who paid to go were obviously not expecting exactly this:
But I can see how they'd be a bit pissed upon arriving to this:
It gets worse.
"Tempest, how could it possibly--"
source of this video that also includes this charming description:
Made up a villain called The Unknown — 'an evil chocolate maker who lives in the walls'
There is already a meme.
Oh yes, the Wish.com Oompa Loompa:
Who has already done an interview!
As bad (and hilarious) as this all is, I got curious about the company that put on this event. Did they somehow overreach? Did the actors they hired back out at the last minute? (Or after they saw the script...) Oddly enough, it doesn't seem so!
Given what I found when poking around I'm legit surprised there was an event at all. Cuz this outfit seems to be 100% a scam.
The website for this specific event is here and it has many AI generated images on it, as stated. I don't think anyone who bought tickets looked very closely at these images, otherwise they might have been concerned about how much Catgacating their children would be exposed to.
Yes, Catgacating. You know, CATgacating!
I personally don't think anyone should serve exarserdray flavored lollipops in public spaces given how many people are allergic to it. And the sweet teats might not have been age appropriate.
Though the Twilight Tunnel looks pretty cool:
I'm not sure that Dim Tight Twdrding is safe. I've also been warned that Vivue Sounds are in that weird frequency range that makes you poop your pants upon hearing them.
Yes, Virginia, these folks used an AI image generator for everything on the website and used Chat GPT for some of the text! From the FAQ:
Q: I cannot go on the available days. Will you have more dates in the future? A: Should there be capacity when you arrive, then you will be able to enter without any problems. In the event that this is not the case, we may ask you to wait a bit.
Fear not, for this question is asked again a few lines down and the answer makes more sense.
Curious about the events company behind this disaster, I took myself over to the homepage of House of Illuminati and I was not disappointed.
I would 100% trust these people to plan my wedding.
This abomination of a website is a badly edited WordPress blog filled with AI art and just enough blog posts to make the casual viewer think that it's a legit business for about 0.0004 seconds.
Their attention to detail is stunning, from how they left up the default first post every WP blog gets to how they didn't bother changing the name on several images, thus revealing where they came from. Like this one:
With the lovely and compact filename "DALL·E-2024-01-30-09.50.54-Imagine-a-scene-where-fantasy-and-reality-merge-seamlessly.-In-the-foreground-a-grand-interactive-gala-is-taking-place-filled-with-elegant-guests-i.png"
"Concept.png" came from the same AI generator that gets text almost, but not quiiiiiite right:
There are a suspicious number of .webp images in the uploads, which makes me think they either stole them from other sites where AI "art" was uploaded or they didn't want to pay for the hi-res versions of some and just grabbed the preview image.
The real fun came when I noticed this filename: Before-and-After-Eventologists-Transformation-Edgbaston-Cricket-Ground-1024x1024-1.jpg and decided to do a Google image search. Friends, you will be shocked to hear that the image in question, found on this post touting how they can transform a boring warehouse into a fun event space, was stolen from this actual event planner.
Even better, this weirdly grainy image?
From a post that claims to be about the preparations for a "Willy Wonka" experience (we'll get to this in a minute), is not only NOT an actual image of anyone preparing anything for Illuminati's event, it is stolen from a YouTube thumbnail that's been chopped to remove the name of the company that actually made this. Here's the video.
If you actually read the blog posts they're all copypasta or some AI generated crap. To the point where this seems like not a real business at all. There's very specific business information at the bottom, but nothing else seems real.
As I said, I'm kinda surprised they put on an event at all. This has, "And then they ran off with all our money!" written all over it. I'm perplexed.
And also wondering when the copyright lawyers are gonna start calling, because...
This post explicitly says they're putting together a "Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory Experience" complete with golden tickets.
Somewhere along the line someone must have wised up, because the actual event was called "Willys Chocolate Experience" (note the lack of apostrophe) and the script they handed to the actors about 10 minutes before they were supposed to "perform" was about a "Willy McDuff" and his chocolate factory.
As I was going through this madness with friends in a chat, one pointed out that it took very little prompting to get the free Chat GPT to spit out an event description and such very similar to all this while avoiding copyrighted phrases. But he couldn't figure out where the McDuff came from since it wasn't the type of thing GPT would usually spit out...
Until he altered the prompt to include it would be happening in Glasgow, Scotland.
You cannot make this stuff up.
But truly, honestly, I do not even understand why they didn't take the money and run. Clearly this was all set up to be a scam. A lazy, AI generated scam.
Everything from the website to the event images to the copy to the "script" to the names of things was either stolen or AI generated (aka stolen). Hell, I'd be looking for some poor Japanese visitor wandering the streets of Glasgow, confused, after being jacked for his mascot costume.
HE LIVES IN THE WALLS, Y'ALL.

Artificial intelligence must be included into operational procedures in the modern world in order to remain competitive. Because generative AI, or systems that can generate text, images, and even sounds, has not yet been fully utilized at scale to enhance corporate operations, reduce expenses, and increase sales effectiveness, small businesses stand to gain enormously from this. Small businesses can enhance their sales strategies, expand their consumer base, and outperform larger companies by utilizing generative AI. Small firms may use generative AI to boost lead generation, customize consumer experiences, and fortify their sales strategies. From the automatic creation of text and graphics to the optimization of customer relationship management systems, generative AI offers a wide range of applications.
