it's really a shame I have to sell 40+ of my life hours every week for poverty wages instead of spending all my time and energy on dozens of creative and technical pursuits with unlimited resources
#nerd alert#lets see if i can list all the hobbies i wish i could be doing instead of working#drawing. both traditional and digital. painting mostly acrylic but id like to get good at watercolors. drawing/writing comics#writing in general. fiction nonfiction poetry lyrics whatever. composing music. music production. singing. practicing piano and guitar#performing someday maybe!#sculpting too. i always forget bc i never do it bc i am never in a place to justify buying clay. i should just get some#i think im fairly good at it tbh. anyway.#knitting. sewing. mending and modding clothes in general. embroidery. id like to learn to crochet at some point#photography and scrapbooking sound appealing. photo editing.#web design. game design. 3d modeling. these are all things i dont really know how to do much of but id like to#animation. voice acting. regular acting. honestly a lot of stuff in the filmmaking process sounds fascinating id like to try some of it#tarot reading. is that a hobby? im gonna say yes. jewelry making.#lots of these ive only dabbled in and some i havent even done that but would like to. but i have no time and or money to get into them.#i would hardly call myself a master at any of these. jack of all trades as it were. and thats fine im fine w that#but given the time and resources i think i could make so many different diverse perfectly average to good things#that people could enjoy in passing or say 'oh how neat :)' about

doing one of those yt wrapped ficlet challenges would be SO fun but alas i use vanced on my phone which is where i watch 90% of yt videos and it doesn't collect your view history bc of how the app handles spoofing+privacy
#that was a long way to say the only videos in a yt wrapped would be ones i had open on my laptop#i wish i could like...input a set amnt of playlists and let it mix from them#i have one for nearly every month bc of the way my adhd brain consumes music#it wouldn't be able to list by plays (does yt wrapped consider loops as new plays?? if not lmfao it wouldn't work for me regardless)#but it should still generate some sort of randomized list tho now that ive typed it i realize#i could create a new yt playlist and port all of this years into it then shuffle#wahhhh actually it wouldn't be fun if it wasn't sorted based on how insane i was abt it#i would not trade vanced for the world tho and if that means a continued lack of watch history then so be it

#the master's only got it up for trade or purchase which whatever but LUCKILY for ME they uploaded CLIPS OF SOME OF THE SONGS.#did you know originally elle didnt tell emmett what happened at the end of legally blonde????? thats CRAZY.#theres a little bit before the remix they showed in the video (for ME!) where he confronted her and told her hed expect her at the trial#i overall prefer the broadway vers (a little less accusatory) but i can appreciate aspects of the tryout vers.#in legally blonde he doesnt do his little love confession! dont enjoy the miscommunication though or his 'dont you care??' line#what i DO think interesting is how in the tryout vers legally blonde shes like 'i cant be legally blonde..' while bw is 'just let me be' et#different framing! thats intriguing! i really enjoy that framing actually!#and you know what i DO LIKE??? elles goes 'goodbye' and heads behind her door and theres this swell of dramatic orchestral music#and the door turns and. ah! its very very good. if youve got a stage that can rotate then use it to its full advantage!#i think that bits cool and emmett talking to elle before the remix may have paved the pacing a little smoother but nevertheless.#i still prefer open communication and him. yknow. not inadvertently blaming her for her own reaction sort of.

Music Books and Magic || Modern Verse is both Ethan and Zola’s Modern/Idol version tag
Zola in her Modern version is a Dj at night and a street magician in the afternoon as she helps out her older brother in their family flower shop. Zola turned her and Ethan’s apartment into a mini forest, making it Ethan’s job to tend to the many plants Zola had put in their apartment as he’s a remote trainee nurse.
Zola does ballet and yoga as a hobby. Ethan does kickboxing and archery as a hobby.
They both have motorcycles as their main transportation, Zola with a scooter and Ethan with a sport touring.

skips every song on my ipod
lets the music play without interruption
plays the same song on repeat for days
#fuck phones#no seriously they are a terrible medium for listening to podcasts and music#nobody in the 80s thought their boombox should stop playing music every time a letter came through the letterbox#nobody with a record player thought it should double as a contact device for telemarketers#nobody with a eight-track thought it needed to be able to also play Angry Birds#A music player should play music and never ever fucking notify or interrupt you about anything other than low battery#the choice to make our phones be a single device for all purposes was WRONG#I don't think young people get just how badly a phone is a subpar browser a subpar music player and a shitty camera all rolled into one#and hell being digital means they're also shitty phones to boot since the audio's crap and they'r far less reliable than landlines#the modern 'smartphone' is a lie sold to you by the same technophiles who want to track the data of your fridge#and hell while I am here lets also admit that being at the beck and call of everyone 24/7 through a device you always have is wretched#that's why the right to disconnect is growing as people realize that at least once the child labourer left the coal mine#his three hour rest period couldn't be interupted from a call from his bosses demanding he pick up xtra shifts#because Little Billy fell down shaft C and got entrails all over a valuable seam#doomscrolling and social pressure to be always availible and eight PM boss calls and videos being shot in portrait mode#all of these are symptoms of the same real bad choice to carry a supercomputr in our pockets that serves as our entire life#this isn't a call for ludditism but a cry that we need to understand that the 'connivence' of an all-in-one device has made every just that#much worse as we traded quality for at-hand portability like fools
