“It’s a wristwatch.”
Which seemed obvious, but the way Rody just stared like a complete idiot at the thing convinced Vincent he needed to elaborate. He felt a little stitch snag in his brow, barely resisted rolling his eyes before he extended his free hand, palm up, and waggled his fingers in a universal gesture of hand it over. But what he meant, really, was give me your hand: and he didn’t wait for Rody to comply.
“Since you don’t seem to own a clock,” Vincent continued as he took the other’s wrist and latched the watch around it himself. A moment spent adjusting the tightness, deliberating between two notches on the belt before settling on the snugger, and his gaze again locked on that dumb look Rody was still sporting. “I took the liberty of setting alarms.” His finger tapped the clock’s face. “So you don’t keep showing up to work panting like a dog.”
And even when he was done with his adjustments, his touch lingered. The fingers cradling Rody’s wrist involuntarily brushed along those two jutting bones, briefly skating over a rhythmic pulse. Vincent let a loud breath fan through his nose, and he broke away. One final squeeze, a jerk of his hand— Rody was set free.
His thumb rode up his own forearm as if it sought a ghost of that sensation. After a contemplative beat, “And learn how to tie a tie.” Vincent nodded to the sad piece of fabric hanging around his employee’s neck. “You can at the very least pretend to be professional.”

Sitting together in the living room of the doctors home, Meilu and Dr Ratio had finally reached the end of discussions involving details they felt were necessary to finalize the contract between the two individuals.
"The main goal of this contract is for me to save enough money to purchase my own property. The main condition of me living here is to allow me to focus on my studies to achieve a satisfactory enough grade by the end of the 'school' year for me to stay until I successfully purchase my own place to live.
HOWEVER if by the end of the school year, if I haven't reached a bare minimum 'passing grade' over all studied subjects we are in agreement that I move out unless discussed otherwise. Are you fully satisfied with these terms?" Meilu calmly explained the terms, her gaze fully focused on the doctor.
At the time of this discussion, Meilu had already spent about a month adjusting to a classroom environment in two separate subjects - social studies and history - to make absolutely sure she could uphold her part of the contract from the beginning which focused heavily on education in a foreign world to her - she wasn't here to waste his time and resources!

"Whoa, they weren't kidding-icus! Guess the rumors are true; the Underdrome has returned. No wonder the monster activity has died down; they're all duking it over in there-icus. I guess that's a good thing?"
It was widely understood by mortals and gods alike that venturing willingly into the Underworld was not something to be taken lightly. However, when Palutena, the beloved Goddess, expressed her curiosity about the rumors, she turned to her faithful Captain, Pit, without hesitation. What followed was a peculiar blend of emotions as Pit grappled with a wave of nostalgia. Here, in the heart of the Underworld, it all began - the perilous journey that saw him return to Skyworld, the epic rescue mission to save his Goddess, and the relentless battle against the malevolent Medusa.
As his mind was flooded with memories of past adventures, he couldn't help but feel an overwhelming connection with his former self, a self that had transformed from an insignificant, weak angel to a formidable warrior. Pit wasn't sure if that angel was even alive anymore.
Two voices snap him out of his thoughts, and he quickly hides behind a nearby boulder, slightly peeking to the side. It was Hades, Lord of the Underworld, and someone else, a figure shrouded in mystery. Pit's curiosity is piqued, but he cannot see them, only Hades' back.
"You see, in my coliseum, EVERYONE gets to join! No need to have a nanny goat give you permission, or, well, your Master, to say the least. In fact, I'm all about equality, and I can guarantee you the time of your after life! All I require is a teensy itsy little signature right here. Just gotta make sure if you're actually serious about joining, no biggie. So PLEASE sign right here."
The Lord of the Dead holds up a scroll written in a language his victim cannot even read, and with his other hand, he offers the black feathered quill for them to grab. Hades is doing his best to contain his excitement for fooling helping the Princess fulfill her desires... Of course, at the cost of her soul, but hey, that's part of the fine print, and who's to say Hades had to go into the details, the boring stuff.
"That doesn't sound good... Hades doesn't get out of his way for just anyone, either. What are you planning, you old creep-icus?"
Pit whispers to himself, swallowing thickly as he watches the scene unfold. Yet he couldn't shake off this twisting feeling in his heart. Maybe he better investigate this, too, but for now, he stays hidden.

Taylor Swift Lyrics That Convince Me She's a Jonsa
feel free to send as writing prompts <3
The rest of the world was black and white, but we were in screaming color
We were built to fall apart, then fall back together
When the sun came up, you were lookin' at me
Long night, with your hands up in my hair, echoes of your footsteps on the stairs
And you should think about the consequence of you touching my hand in a darkened room
I feel like I might sink and drown and die
My love had been frozen, deep blue, but you painted me golden
You said there was nothing in the world that could stop it
I loved you in spite of deep fears that the world would divide us
He built a fire just to keep me warm
Trust him like a brother, yeah, you know I did one thing right
Starry eyes sparking up my darkest night
Slowly I said, "You don't need to save me, but would you run away with me?"
I'm always waiting for you to be waiting below
Said, "I'm fine," but it wasn't true, I don't wanna keep secrets just to keep you
And I snuck in through the garden gate, every night that summer just to seal my fate
Have I known you twenty seconds or twenty years?
Can I go where you go?
Can we always be this close forever and ever?
My heart's been borrowed and yours has been blue
All's well that ends well to end up with you
Help me hold on to you
I search for your dark side
I wake in the night, I pace like a ghost
It's you and me, there's nothing like this
And I hope I never lose you, hope it never ends
I see you everywhere
Tryna find a part of me that you didn't touch
Quiet my fears with the touch of your hand
I know heaven's a thing, I go there when you touch me, honey
I don't wanna look at anything else now that I saw you
I've been sleeping so long in a twenty-year dark night
I wounded the good and I trusted the wicked
Maybe you ran with the wolves and refused to settle down
I once believed love would be (black and white), but it's golden (golden)
You drew stars around my scars, but now I'm bleeding
Marked me like a bloodstain, I knew you
But I knew you'd linger like a tattoo kiss
I knew you'd haunt all of my what-ifs
And I knew you'd come back to me
I think I've seen this film before and I didn't like the ending
Like you'd get your knuckles bloody for me
Those eyes add insult to injury
There is no amount of cryin' I can do for you
All this time, we always walked a very thin line
And if I'm on fire, you'll be made of ashes, too
And I can go anywhere I want, anywhere I want, just not home
And I still talk to you when I'm screaming at the sky
I know they said the end is near
I'm still a believer but I don't know why
I'm still trying everything to keep you looking at me
Whispers of "Are you sure?" "Never have I ever before"
With you, I fall down
But you dream of some epiphany, just one single glimpse of relief to make some sense of what you've seen
But I'm a fire and I'll keep your brittle heart warm
I am ash from your fire
You knew it still hurts underneath my scars
Wherever you stray, I follow
Head on the pillow, I could feel you sneaking in
Show me the places where the others gave you scars
Your touch brought forth an incandescent glow
My pain fits in the palm of your freezing hand
Your opal eyes are all I wish to see
My house of stone, your ivy grows and now I'm covered in you
It's a goddamn blaze in the dark and you started it
It's the goddamn fight of my life and you started it
I see you every day now
I feel you, no matter what
And I wake with your memory over me
And time can't stop me quite like you did
My hand was the one you reached for
And maybe it's the past that's talking

let's hope anodyne isn't behind this | lambert & duessel (axe +1)
@obsidiendo
It was straightforward, very much so.
This one house of Leicester, who Lambert managed to somehow remember the name of- Riegan, the same same from that house leader kid of the Golden Deer, had been boasting about its latest findings: a mine that somehow hadn’t been spotted until now, apparently rich with minerals and that could definitely offer a powerful boost to the territory’s commerce. It seemed almost too good to be true in Lambert’s eyes- he may have weak memory, but he does have enough knowledge to be aware that mines don’t just show up like that- but anyway. Good for them, right?
Until Lambert was given the information that for whatever reason, that mine seemed rather dangerous. There was no explanation on why exactly, with everything being fairly vague. And now he, alongside another teacher, had been given the task to approach the area for some recon- both to check if the reports about the mine were indeed real, and also have a better idea of why it was considered so dangerous.
“I can only hope that there are no monsters inside that thing. Mostly because fighting a monster inside a cramped, dark cave sounds like the recipe for disaster.” Lambert spoke out loud, standing just before the perimeter tape set by Riegan authorities to keep onlookers from getting too close. He couldn’t see much of the mine from there- just forest and rocks, but he could identify a path that would most definitely lead to its entrance.
It felt strange, how natural that felt to him. Faerghus has many mines too, doesn’t it?
Why was he so familiar with those aspects? Wasn’t he just a soldier?
Breaking into a sigh, he rested one hand on his hip- covered in armor, before facing his companion. A big, strong guy a little older than him who seemed like quite the battle veteran. He was a teacher of the Golden Deer, and Lambert needed him to tag along because as an Ashen Wolves teacher he didn’t have clearance to come by himself. He wouldn’t protest, though! A partner is always welcome for recons. “Did you get anything from those guards, Duessel? Any information on what is in there or is it a true case of look around and find out?”
Not that Lambert was against it, no. Even more if it meant ensuring the miners’ safety- which was his priority at this point. Resources were cool and all, but Lambert didn’t quite agree with the idea of them coming at the price of the miners’ safety.
“What could be in there to even justify all of this…I expect to see literal walls of gold and silver at this point.” He frowned. He couldn’t help but wonder if the authorities were hiding something from the public.
