There are so many amazing OCs that have been created for 'The Arcana' universe, and I've been re-watching the original Sailor Moon anime recently; so, naturally, some fan-art ensued.

I took heavy inspiration from Sailor Pluto, with a splash of Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars for this one ♡

This one taught me a little more about making nice, soft backgrounds with a little more vibrancy!

I was pondering whether Poor Edward might have had a brief window (when you're very far away from him) that he could've had enough sense to try to deal with his moon-milk predicament. After all, Hephaesta was able to fight her obsession once the zee was not right there in front of her. He used up his Lethean Tea already on dramatic live burial threats, but if you have a whole facility dedicated to experimenting with something as frightening as moon-milk, it would make sense to have anything that could serve as an antidote on hand, right?

Anyway then I remembered that Edward's boss is THE Worst Possible Person to report a workplace accident to and there's a 0% chance that anything other than "researchers who get accidentally dosed become patients" is the standard protocol. SORRY EDWARD YOU SHOULDVE SAVED UR TEA

I rewatched distant voices just now and 1) it's really funny that the episode IMMEDIATELY opens with the cream pie thing, and 2) it's been noted before but despite Garak going "ooo subconsciously you don't trust me hehe" Julian not only seems to trust him implicitly, but he also like. bosses Lethean!Garak around, and Lethean!Garak (who is imitating Julian’s perception of Garak) is very outwardly obedient about it lol

Kind of an interesting thought experiment here. The Tav drow I feel like have a much better chance of getting along. I don't see many, if any, first boys get tadpoled. I think of Sorn and Aldiirn and Ris'daer instantly, and yes I think they would get along smashingly. (Although Aldiirn might get horrified about Sorn's dietary habits.) The Durges though. Like depends on how closely the creator followed the 'carved from Bhaal's flesh' thing. DU Drow is uh, coming to mind. Lethean is drow, but hasn't been raised in the Underdark so IDK if the culture rubbed off or how he feels about that. Another Durge that comes to mind is Ballard. Partially because I love him. But also his story is still being written, so I do wonder how a drow Durge that decides to embrace the urge would play along with others. [But also because trans Drow are going to be a whole thing. Actually...quick point of order. There are so. many. trans masc drow. (TY for that.) Are the trans femme are different race for some reason? Am I missing them? I get the top surgery scars can make trans men & dudes & enbies easier to spot.]

Anyway, I look forward to them ALL bonding over going for a vampire.

Why Julian is so livid in "In the Pale Moonlight" when Sisko tells him to hand over 85 liters of the biomimetic gel to some random person with no questions asked. In addition to the ethical/legal reasons of not wanting to give out a very controlled substance that can be used for bad things...

There's also the fact that he was nearly murdered three years before for a TINY FRACTION of that amount of that stuff. In "Distant Voices" the Lethean asked for a few hundred milliliters.

At most, that's 500 milliliters. So the math says that Julian was attacked for 0.58% of Sisko's order.

Can you imagine being told (by someone who you're personally close to) to hand over, no questions asked, such a huge amount, 170 times the amount, of a restricted substance that you barely survived being murdered for?

Thinking of the theme of “giving up” in Garak and Bashir’s relationship.

“So that’s it? You just going to give up and let them win?” in the Wire The Lethean mocking Bashir for giving up tennis, and romance with Jadzia. “Is that what they taught you in the Obsidian Order? To give up when things get difficult?” in Our Man Bashir "ohh don't give up on me yet." "Don't give up on me yet, Doctor"

Giving up on each other, giving up on themselves, giving up on their goals.

Julian seems to see giving up as among the most shameful things he could possibly do. It's such a tender spot for him that it's an easy way to attack him. As a doctor, of course. What is the point of his augmentations if he gives up before he can save everyone? But it's tipped over into his personal relationships too. He's relentless, he's too forward, he will not leave well enough alone.

Garak on the other hand knows the value of giving up. He's been trained to recognize the right moment for a strategic retreat. What an inconvenience then, that he's found someone who will not give up on him no matter how hard he tries to make him

[ANGELTOBER 2024] Day 28 - Court

You didn't think I was going to let Angeltober go by without posting this version of my Mulciber illustration that I specifically made for Angeltober?

It was originally planned for Ultrangeltober Day 12 - Gothic, however... that placement didn't look good in my IG layout. But it fits for 'Court' as well, since the model building he is holding is of Pandemonium's Throne Hall—the Lethean Wing, as it is called in the story, or the Court of the Fallen Host.

If anyone is interested about the various wings of Pandemonium, multiple months back, there is a post with all of the Pandemonium maps that I made for the novels.

I think that Terry Matalas "knows Star Trek" in the sense that, like, he can tell a Markalian from a Lethean at a glance, and if you asked him what classes of ships took part in the battle to retake Deep Space Nine, he would be able to rattle them all off, together with their crew complements, armaments, and maximum warp capacities. But I don't think that he understands Star Trek.
