This is all I have to show for it.#I also missed posting this on the Flondon anniversary so I'm double Smad and frustippointed at myself.#This is niche content but I know there are flondoners following me who will understand.#I had to make a second account because all my friends who I played with *also* picked Nemesis and dropped the game at various gates.#I failed every possible check at Knifegate. I was on the verge of madness. And yet I still love this game.#Little known secret about me: over 70% of the blogs I follow on tumblr are flondon rp blogs.#The cool art and character lore brings me a lot of joy!#With that said; what the hell is the coincidence that right as I finish Nemesis -#The flondon community starts a Nemesis Race.#Guys. it’s not worth it. It is a revenge quest about losing everything you have to see your task through.#All to culminate in the discovering that you are beefing it with a fanfiction writing bat.#That said; I do feel like this story was very satisfying for my melancholic doctor.#I knew I would get the choice between sparing or killing my nemesis (the bat) and I had a long time to think it through.#Someone who wants to save lives and (does as much as possible to do make things better for others) choosing against mercy?#Someone who never permitted themselves to let the city truly become a home because they were not a person - they were a tool for grief.#Alright..Yeah the ending was really good.#I will be back with a part two. Clearly I'm tenacious enough to commit to what I started.#If I am not excommunicated on sight by the flondon community I will be back with comics for the other ambitions.

More games where your adventures give you scars, wrinkles, gray hairs, bizarre magical tattoos, eyes that shine in the dark with the force of the curse upon you, patches of scales where you were splashed with the blood of the dragon you slew, sharp teeth from having to eat monster flesh to survive, a million little things that set you apart from the sweet innocent child who first set out on the road to adventure.

More games where other characters see you and know you're no ordinary townsfolk, because you've been irrevocably changed by your experiences and if you ever go home, you won't fit anymore.

I think any fix-it mouthwashing au has to have the mandatory scenes of Curly either being able to blink again or speaking for the first time.

#like metaphorical nature aside can you like fathom the relief in being able to hear your voice again? or like blink your eye even if manualy #how many times to you think the phantom actions triggers only for nothing to happen to be asked something and it catch in his throat from h #his torn vocal cords probably from how loud and hard he was screaming in agony #or the feeling of having to cry with tears and the instinct to blink them away like those little relief would make him break down #also just like I want the fix it au to have a scene of Anya feeling truly safe and content with nothign in the back of her mind #like I like playing with the struggles and angst but really just have her subtly realize shes fine alone or with one of them I dont care #shes like reading and someone unintentionally sneaks up on her but she doesnt jump or she wakes up and its not the first thought in her min #or maybe just her realizing she can finally push it away maybe someone not recognizing her or Curly from the incident and realizing it wont #define her forever and she'll move past it like please let them be happy have them meet Daisuke's family who pointedly dont ask #or Swansea appriciating his kids in a way Daisukes didn't appiciate their useful ray of sunshine like LET THEM SMILE #mouthwashing #mouthwashing game #captain curly #curly mouthwashing

She came up with a new activity

#snake #snakes #Hognose #hognoses #pets #In her defense I also didn't realize the reason she couldn't move it at the end was because her tail was no longer under the basket #So instead of sliding over her it just bumped into her and was stuck #to her credit she did listen to me and follow my directions! But neither of us realized the problem.#ah it was cute while she did it #she was going a bit before I started recording #she comes up with silly fun activities #i should let her play with the hammock again #it's funny when she found it she'd gesture to me with her head when she wanted me to lift it and put it down #and it was like a weird elevator parachute game #i think she might have been extra delighted she was able to communicate her wants to me and I did them #We both got practice with that the other day when we played climbing ball #I misunderstood a few times #she is much more patient and less easily frustrated than her sister #she was asking for climbing ball and I thought she was asking for kisses #i did eventually figure out what she actually wanted #i suppose it helps she likes kisses too #when i say kisses I'm not putting my lips on her #I let her flick her tongue at the tip of my nose and make little kiss sounds at her #she either understands this is affection or otherwise likes it #Because she will often go to my nose and I'll give her kisses like this #I don't kiss her because the bacteria and stuff in my human mouth could be dangerous for her #I know reptiles and such can also have salmonella #But I'm really not worried about that part tbh as I keep my girls pretty clean #They are princesses #And know it

Thinking about Cas roped into a little kids teaparty while they're investigating a case and being firmly told he's a princess and a plastic crown slapped onto his head and Dean checks in on him saying "hey you wanna come to [next investigation scene]?" And all the kids go noooooo bc they love Cas bc he's Weird and very serious and patient with them about their games which is very funny to them and he pays focused attention which almost always makes kids happy.

And Cas, very solemn, goes "I'm a princess now Dean, I need to oversee my kingdom's affairs". And it becomes a comedy C plot of Cas n the kids fantasy game getting really politically detailed and fucked up while the boys do all the investigation work. Maybe there's some cut-betweens of the kids fantasy violence of smashing dolls together and Sam n Dean getting thrown around.

#the joke is how engaged he is in the game not that he's a princess #he's a princess bc he'd make a cute princess is all #i think cas IS good with kids but it's not quite in the way that's depicted in the show when he talks to that one little girl with Hannah #he's good with kids because he gives a lot of attention and would let them do whatever play they needed to and would stop them getting hurt #but would let them try difficult things rather thab do things for them #and he's remarkably patient unless it's with someone he already doesn't like

Let me explain what happened. I'm going to work through events one by one, ending with the state you see in the screenshot.

I am playing Ironman (basically no saving or loading except as needed to restore the game state after program shutdown).

I am playing on Genius difficulty (4/5, I didn't want to get my ass turned inside out by Superhuman difficulty)

I am besieging the enemy UFO.

I am 90% convinced the map is empty of aliens, save for the UFO.

I carelessly explore the map with the XCOM soldier seen at the bottom.

At 1 TU left, the XCOM soldier makes Line of Sight with an alien.

My reaction: Oh shit, oh fuck, uhhh.

1 TU is not enough for the XCOM soldier to scratch their fucking ass, let alone retreat or fire.

On the next turn that alien is going to turn around and without fail obliterate my soldier.

Nobody else has LOS on the alien and nobody, even if they spent their entire turn's worth of TUs could not possibly move into a position that can allow them to shoot the alien.

I select the XCOM that you see still selected in the screenshot -- Jungo Chiba.

I contort all of my brain muscles to try to find a way to save my beloved anti-xeno legionnaire.

Jungo Chiba has exactly enough moves to face up against the wall on a trajectory towards the alien.

I use ctrl+click to force Jungo to shoot in the direction of the wall in 3x Auto mode.

The first shot destroys a section of yellow-brownish brick wall.

The second shot destroys a section of wooden wall.

The third shot destroys a wooden door and the same shot hits the alien in the side, obliterating them immediately.

I pog so ungraciously and take this ugly ass screenshot.

(I move him one tile away from the hole he just shot for no reason.)

What a fucking legend.
