I think it’s sad how certain characters are only affiliated with Hellpark now. You look up Estella and one of the first things you get is hp art or the blog itself. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the comic back in its hay day and I still love most of the designs now. I’m just sick of people copying and pasting these specific versions of the characters into their own aus. and content as a whole. I already have my grievances with how Gregory was portrayed, but to see people demonize and misconstrue his character time and time again is just frustrating as someone who genuinely loves his character. Please, watch the movie and learn a little bit about Enjolras, that’s all you need. Hellpark is not gospel, it is not affiliated with South Park. It’s not canon, not even close, so how about we stop acting like it’s this grand depiction of what these characters are?

fic recs should also have lesser known underrated fics!!! not just fandom classics and fics that are already well loved and popular !!! that's the whole point of recommending i feel 😅

I am. not sure if you're saying that all the fics I recommended are fandom classics (they weren't!), or if this is pointing out what I tried to do, which is highlight more underrated fics.

Yes there were some absolute monsters that everyone knows and loves, like Error in the Code, but I feel I put a pretty good blend of well-known and unknown fics as well. I haven't been in this fandom all that long so a lot of my bookmarks came from popular fic reccs, and has grown since then.

There's actually a lot of them I didn't recommended bc they already had tens of thousands of hits, and I do believe fic reccs should have lesser known works, too! It can be discouraging to see the same group of people always recommended, especially when it feels like no one really reads "unknown" fic writers. Luckily KP doesn't seem to suffer from this problem, it's a small enough fandom that it feels like a lot of us are just. Already friends/familiar with each other. But that was a huge problem back in the Star Wars/TfA fandom back in the day. If you weren't a BNF, good luck ending up on a recc list.

At some point I might put together a list of my favorite fandom classics, so to speak, bc I think it's equally shitty to leave someone off of a list just because they're already popular. We're all still just people that crave validation, and there's no such thing as too much praise. I'm just trying to spread the love to everyone I can, popular or not, bc I think everyone deserve to get their fic recc'd at least once. And there's a lot of really amazing fics that don't get the attention I think they deserve!

No one has sent me any recc prompts but I'm building up my own list of ideas, and while my focus is definitely more on less popular works, it's always going to be based on how much I loved the fic itself. Popular fics are popular for a reason! Which is why I think the best thing to do is just try and strike a nice balance. That way everyone gets to be appreciated!

I really… love it here. Everyone’s so chill. Everyone respects each other’s opinions. Headcanons, ships, interpretations… whatever. Nobody cares. Do what you want. It’s fun. People will reblog shit about death note they don’t even really agree with because it’s all fun. It’s all goofy and good. It’s all interesting and fun to consider even when it’s not your personal cup of tea. Nobody pulls any dumb moralizing bullshit. Nobody gets in stupid fights over ships or interpretations. I know I’m a relatively new DN fan and I’ve probably missed a lot of fandom drama. But it’s just… nice. Everyone in this corner of tumblr just truly loves to dunk on these goofy little dipshits. Nobody cares who you ship. Nobody cares what you focus on or gives you shit for what you like or value most about the story. Because it’s a story about murder. It’s a story about a fucked up guy and and another, differently fucked up guy and a fucked up girly and a couple surprisingly normal death gods. It’s serious it’s hilarious it’s weird it’s really good and it’s also not all that good and it’s absolutely ridiculous and stupid. And everyone is really nice. We’re having fun. I like you guys. I like it here. :)!!

It's funny to me on how people are still doing the childish thing about the whole Kori vs Babs thing with Dick

I don't know the full background with the comics but I do know especially in the early runs that both girls turn their backs on Dick at some point and whether it was on purpose or not people tend to forget about that and still do the whole vs thing don't get me wrong while I love both girls and enjoy the ships just remembering that at the end of the day I rather have Dick single than seeing him miserable and the fact most majority fans don't see this makes me even more sad

omg yes lol. I actually just read back through some of my supernatural fics on ao3 out of curiosity and they were solid, it’s cool seeing how much I and my writing and my perspective has changed over time, since I started writing on this blog in high school and am now almost 30!
