Astro obs part 9
🐌 The planets in your 12th house indicate your sleeping style:
Sun in 12th house - their sleep schedule is extremely messed up; for them, daylight hours = nighttime hours and vice versa, so they have trouble being themselves during the day; their true self comes out at night
Moon in 12th house - goes to sleep very late; full moons have a special effect on these people; their intuition is more clear at night; as kids, they probably slept a lot with their mother
Mercury in 12th house - loves texting/calling people late at night; they might journal their thoughts before sleep because they overthink a lot and it helps to clear their mind or maybe they just like to relax by reading a book at night
Venus in 12th house - cares a lot about getting their "beauty sleep"; sleeps with sleep masks on, buys expensive bed lingerie, skincare night routine might be very important; loves sleeping in general lmao
Mars in 12th house - enjoys working out before going to sleep, can go to sleep angry because they tend to get into conflict more at night than during the day
I have Uranus in 12th house and i can be both a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper, depending on where i am. For example, when i'm traveling, during the first night i wake up several times, but from the second night on i sleep like a baby lmao. Another thing would be that i can't sleep in a quiet car but i don't have any problem sleeping during a thunderstorm
🐌 Mars in fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sag) and Mars in 3rd house individuals love riding motorbikess
🐌 While Mars in 9th house peeps would probably love to go on a world tour on their motorbike. The sign ruling their 9th house represents the countries they would love to visit (i'm aware that some of these can only be visited by plane, take it with a grain of salt):
♈ in 9th house: Ireland, Poland, Japan, Zimbabwe
♉ in 9th house: Cuba, Paraguay, South Africa, East Timor
♊ in 9th house: Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Montenegro
♋ in 9th house: Canada, USA, Bahamas, Argentina, Slovenia, Madagascar
♌ in 9th house: Hawaii, France, Italy, The Netherlands, India, South Korea, Peru, Bolivia
♍ in 9th house: Switzerland, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Vietnam
♎ in 9th house: Belgium, Portugal, China, Equatorial Guinea, Lesotho
♏ in 9th house: Panama, Spain, Turkey, Arab countries (Saudi Arabia, UAE), Palestine, Lebanon
♐ in 9th house: Finland, Lithuania, Romania, Tanzania, Thailand
♑ in 9th house: UK, Germany, Czech Republic, Australia, Camerun
♒ in 9th house: Greece, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka
♓ in 9th house: Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Mauritius, Saint Lucia
🐌 I have a feeling Pisces Suns like to spend their time in a garage lmao. Mostly because their opposing sign, Virgo, would hate to spend time in a garage due to how dirty it can get.
🐌As a 7th house Sun who's been in love for almost a year now (haha, are we surprised, ofcours not; i'm not even in a relationship with him but ugh we're so perfect for each other), i realised that Sun in 7th house people tend to behave differently with their partner when they're in a healthy relationship vs when they're in a toxic one
Sun in 7th house in:
♈ Aries in a healthy relationship: empowers their partner, knows how to balance me time vs us time in a healthy manner, encourages their partner to take safe risks
♈ Aries in an unhealthy relationship: impulsive, impatient, selfish, dismisses their partner's feelings, often controlled by rage, prone to abusing their partner
♉ Taurus in a healthy relationship: veryyy generous (their love language is gift giving), accommodating to their partner's wants and needs, cooks for their partner
♉ Taurus in an unhealthy relationship: stubborn af, hard to please, focused more on the material gain from their partner rather than the love they share
♊ Gemini in a healthy relationship: curious, always lightens the mood of their partner by cracking up tons of jokes or telling them funny stories, knows that communication is key to everything so they're not afraid to discuss serious topics, teaches their partner a lot of random stuff
♊ Gemini in an unhealthy relationship: superficial, doesn't have a problem moving on from their partner to another person in a matter of seconds, if they're still in school/college, then they prioritize studying over their partner
♋ Cancer in a healthy relationship: nurturing, knows how to balance babying their partner vs being babied by their partner, emotionally vulnerable, feels safe enough to present their partner to their family early on in the relationship
♋ Cancer in a unhealthy relationship: if they don't trust their partner, they tend to become emotionally closed off to hide their deep sadness; defensive, but if their partner attackes them, then they'll hide, worries excessively, avoids presenting their partner to their family
♌ Leo in a healthy relationship: treats their partner like the king/queen they are, keeps their ego in check so it doesn't interfere with the relationship, if they've got artistic talents (music, acting, art etc.), they'll show their love for their partner by performing in front of them
♌ Leo in an unhealthy relationship: egocentric, shows off their partner/relationship too much out of pride, often feels entitled in the relationship and wants to be put on a pedestal by their partner
♍ Virgo in a healthy relationship: selfless to a healthy degree, remembers every lil detail from every casual conversations with their partner just to please them, remembers every important date and plans ahead for it, takes care of their partner when they're sick
♍ Virgo in a unhealthy relationship: critical, overfixates on past hurts and mistakes that their partner made in the relationship (often times their partner doesn't even remember those things because they're usually not that serious), loves their pets more than their partner
♎ Libra in a healthy relationship: romantic, charismatic, truly values their partner and the relationship with them, acts fair in the relationship, teaches their partner lovingly about the importance of honesty, truth and a healthy give and take dynamic in a relationship
♎ Libra in an unhealthy relationship: doesn't prioritize the relationship; instead, they flirt with others despite being in a relationship, emotionally detached, cold and calculated in their current relationship
♏ Scorpio in a healthy relationship: loyal, loves their partner deeply and intensely, but without suffocating them, keeps their partner's secrets like they're a locked safe box with no public access
♏ Scorpio in an unhealthy relationship: obsessive, manipulative, seeks to dominate their partner, displays stalkish behaviour in the relationship, liar
♐ Sagittarius in a healthy relationship: exposes their partner to various cultures, belief systems and philosophies to expand their mind and form their own opinion on certain topics, loves freely but is still able to maintain a long-term relationship, improves their partner's mood, usually brings an element of surprise and excitement to the relationship
♐ Sagittarius in an unhealthy relationship: travels in order to avoid dealing with their partner, parties a bit too much, doesn't take the relationship seriously
♑ Capricorn in a healthy relationship: loves their partner in a mature, serious and secure manner, doesn't shy away from improving their partner's social status and/or career if they can, discusses plans for the future (getting married, having kids, adopting pets, buying a house) with their partner early on in the relationship, they make time for their partner, despite the fact that they're busy most of the time
♑ Capricorn in an unhealthy relationship: displays no emotions or physical affection in the relationship, has a hard time communicating their thoughts with their partner, settles in a relationship for the wrong reasons (money/kids/safety/"i'm getting old and i need to have my life established"), prioritizes work/career over their partner
♒ Aquarius in a healthy relationship: flexible, makes their partner's dreams and aspirations come true (whether they're related to the relationship or not), has got a very open-minded attitude towards their partner's opinions, lifestyle and identity, takes the time to become friends firsts with their future partner because they value a relationship built on solid foundation (often times their partner is also their best friend), knows how to balance couple time vs time with friends
♒ Aquarius in an unhealthy relationship: displays wishy-washy behaviour, emotionally detached, prioritizes their friends over their partner, seeks online validation from strangers and acquaintances to fulfill their needs
♓ Pisces in a healthy relationship: sensitive to their partner's emotions, knows how to balance wearing their heart on their sleeve vs hiding their emotions in unfavourable circumstances, always honest with their partner
♓ Pisces in an unhealthy relationship: prone to drown their relationship problems and sorrows in alcohol, drugs and meds for mental health issues, runs away from problems instead of dealing with them with their partner, displays dishonesty to a fault, prone to self-sabotage

black & palestinian solidarities
if you support black liberation but are unsure of your stance on palestinian resistance, here’s a reminder that they are deeply intertwined. after the 1917 balfour declaration by the british government announcing the first support for a zionist state in palestine, zionism and israeli occupation of palestine have followed similar ideologies and practices to white supremacist settler colonial projects, so solidarity between black and palestinian communities has grown over time, seeing each other as fellow anti-imperialist and anti-racist struggles. (if you get a paywall for any of the sources below, try searching them in google scholar.)
palestinians have been inspired by and shown support for black liberationist struggles as early as the 1930s, when arabic-language newspapers in palestine wrote about the struggle by black folks in the united states and framed it as anti-colonial, as well as opposing the 1935 invasion by fascist italy of ethiopia, the only independent black african state at the time. palestinian support for black struggles grew in the 1960s with the emergence of newly-independent african states, the development of black and third world internationalisms, and the civil rights movement in the united states. palestinian writers have expressed this solidarity too: palestinian activist samih al-qasim showed his admiration for congolese independence leader patrice lumumba in a poem about him, while palestinian poet mahmoud darwish’s “letters to a negro” essays spoke directly to black folks in the united states about shared struggles.
afro-palestinians have a rich history of freedom fighting against israeli apartheid, where they face oppression at the intersections of their black and palestinian identities. some families trace their roots back hundreds of years, while others came to jerusalem in the nineteenth century from chad, sudan, nigeria, and senegal after performing the hajj (the islamic pilgrimage to mecca) and settled down. still others came to palestine in the 1940s specifically to join the arab liberation army, where they fought against israel’s ethnic cleansing of palestinians during the 1948 nakba (“catastrophe”). afro-palestinian freedom fighter fatima bernawi, who was of nigerian, palestinian, and jordanian descent, became, in 1967, the first palestinian woman to be organize an operation against israel, and subsequently the first palestinian woman to be imprisoned by israel. the history of afro-palestinian resistance continues today: even as the small afro-palestinian community in jerusalem is highly-surveilled, over-policed, disproportionately incarcerated, and subjected to racist violence, they continue to organize and fight for palestinian liberation.
black revolutionaries and leaders in the united states have supported the palestinian struggle for decades, with a ramp-up since the 1960s. malcolm x became a huge opponent of zionism after traveling to southwest asia and north africa (SWANA), publishing “zionist logic” in 1964, and becoming one of the first black leaders from the united states to meet with the newly formed palestine liberation organization. the black panther party and the third world women’s alliance, a revolutionary socialist organization for women of color, also supported palestinian resistance in the 1970s. writers like maya angelou, june jordan, and james baldwin have long spoken out for palestinians. dr. angela davis (who received support from palestinian political prisoners when she was incarcerated) has made black and palestinian solidarity a key piece of her work. and many, many more black leaders and revolutionaries in the united states have supported palestinian freedom.
while israel has long courted relationships with the african union and its members, there has been ongoing tension between them since at least the 1970s, when all but four african states (malawi, lesotho, swaziland, and mauritius) cut off diplomatic ties with israel after the 1973 october war. while many of those diplomatic relationships were reestablished in subsequent decades, they remain rocky, and earlier this year, the african union booted an israeli diplomat from their annual summit in addis ababa, ethiopia, and issued a draft declaration on the situation in palestine and the middle east that expressed “full support for the palestinian people in their legitimate struggle against the israeli occupation”, naming israeli settlements as illegal and calling for boycotts and sanctions with israel. grassroots organizations like africa 4 palestine have also been key in the BDS (boycott, divestment, sanctions) movement.
in south africa, comparisons between israel and south african apartheid have been prevalent since the 1990s and early 2000s. israel historically allied with apartheid-era south africa, while palestinians opposed south african apartheid, leading nelson mandela to support the palestinian liberation organization as "fighting for the right of self-determination"; over the years his statements have been joined by fellow black african freedom fighters like nozizwe madlala-routledge and desmond tutu. post-apartheid south africa has continued to be a strong ally to palestine, calling for israel to be declared “apartheid state”.
black and palestinian solidarities have continued into the 21st century. palestinian people raised money to send to survivors of hurricane katrina in the united states in 2005 (which disproportionately harmed black communities in new orleans and the gulf of mexico) and the devastating earthquake in haiti in 2010. in the past decade, the global black lives matter struggle has brought new emphasis to shared struggles. prison and police abolitionists have long noted the deadly exchange which brings together police, ICE, border patrol, and FBI agents from the united states to train with soldiers, police, and border agents from israel. palestinian freedom fighters supported the 2014 uprising in ferguson in the united states, and shared strategies for resisting state violence. over a thousand black leaders signed onto the 2015 black solidarity statement with palestine. the murder of george floyd by american cops in 2020 has sparked further allyship, including black lives matter protests in palestine, with organizations like the dream defenders making connections between palestinian and black activists.
this is just a short summary that i came up because i've been researching black and asian solidarities recently so i had some sources on hand; there's obviously so much more that i haven't covered, so please feel free to reblog with further additions to this history!

How long has he been away from the kids, assuming he didn't go to Cali between NYC and London?
2 weeks now. My guess is it'll probably be another 1 or 2 weeks before he goes home.
The initial PR said Harry's itinerary was an 8-day trip to NYC and London, so since we know Harry had an evening event in NYC on 9/22, he probably flew out on 9/21. (I feel like there was maybe some CDAN gossip about Harry being in NYC on 9/21, something about Meghan blowing up his phone and Harry spending the night partying.)
So with 9/22 counting as Day 1 of the trip, that places Day 8 on 9/30 - the WellChild Awards - so Harry likely flew straight to London from NYC and was probably expected to return to California after the WellChild Awards.
Sentebale announced Harry was traveling to Lesotho and South Africa on 9/27, and Harry was in Lesotho on 10/1. He traveled immediately after WellChild and it was most likely a private flight since all commercial flights require layovers and are 15+ hours. On 10/3, he was in Johannesburg for a conference.
The Daily Mail confirmed Harry's African trip was to be 4 days long, which put his return flight on either 10/4 or 10/5. My money's on a 10/5 departure since the news that Harry is staying longer in Johannesburg dropped today.
The Daily Express called Harry's Johannesburg/Cape Town extension "an extra few days" and also says "there's also another trip planned which has been blanked out of his diary and he's keen to keep it very private."
Few is generally used to describe 3-4 days so Harry will probably leave South Africa around 10/9 or so, at which point I think he will be on his super top secret private trip. I'm honestly getting military vibes on that secret trip...are there British armed forces still in Afghanistan where Harry can relive his glory days? If it's not Afghanistan, then possibly Israel or Ukraine. Or maybe it's Invictus-related.
Otherwise my guesses are he's going back to the UK or to Australia.
(There was a lot of PR months ago of how desperately Harry wanted to go to Ukraine and be the first UK royal to the front lines - William beat him there - and there was a bit of Sussex PR awhile ago too about their desire to have a fauxyal visit to Australia, around the time that people were speculating about Charles visiting Australia before his visit was confirmed. And since the PR from Harry's travels is positioning him as statesman, it sounds like he might be going someplace thorny to wield his new talent.)
(And then my guess for going back to the UK is basically because of the August PR that he wanted to spend a month in the UK for his birthday and so he can be there when Charles publishes the LP activating the Counsellors of State for his CHGOM/Aussie trip, for which Charles will arrive in Australia on 10/18.)
If my predictions/theories are correct and this top secret very private trip is for immediately after this South Africa "friends and family" private time, then I don't think we'll hear about Harry being back in California (or making plans to travel back to California) until around 10/18 at the latest, which puts him at 4 weeks away from the kids, the longest (publicly) he's been away from his beloved children since 2022 when he was "stuck" in the UK for royal mourning.
As someone snarked on SMM's post, no wonder Harry uses a photo of his kids as his screensaver. He wouldn't know what they look like otherwise because he never spends time with them.

"When Harry took the stage at the Clinton Global Initiative on Tuesday morning, it was clear just how far he had come as a speaker and a public figure. He paced the stage, TED Talk–style, and used his personal cell phone as a visual aid. He began by discussing the Space Race, using it as an extended metaphor for the unforeseen effects that technology can have on our politics. Compared to the uplifting yet somewhat hesitant speeches he used to give five years ago, the prince was brimming with purpose when talking about Big Tech.
"'Our laws and regulations are different state-to-state, country-to-country—we may have different backgrounds, viewpoints, beliefs, and even access to the internet itself. But the one thing we can universally agree on is the safety of our children,' he said. 'So why, why do the leaders of these insanely powerful social media companies still refuse to change? Why are we holding them to the lowest ethical standards? In any other circumstance, a business would commit all resources to fixing the bug.'
"Unlike the trip to Nigeria or their August trip to Colombia—where Harry and Meghan spent a few days with the country’s vice president and got in a few cultural experiences—the duke’s multiday trip to Manhattan was all business. In under 72 hours, he packed in at least seven events with a handful of his charities, some of which have counted him as a patron for more than a decade. He gave prepared remarks at most of the events, which meant he was switching gears from subjects ranging from youth empowerment to minefields and conflict to the climate impacts of travel to the ongoing HIV/AIDS crisis in Southern Africa at the drop of the hat.
"Rather than focusing on the climate specifically, the trip was an opportunity for Harry to shine a spotlight on the teams that have helped him carry out his grand charitable plans. He was the headliner on Tuesday when the sustainable travel coalition Travalyst, which he founded in 2019, celebrated its fifth anniversary with a panel discussion and cocktail reception.
"On Monday, he celebrated the successes that the HALO Trust has had in demining Angola following the country’s devastating 26-year civil war, work that began with the support of Princess Diana in the final years of her life. He spoke about his 2019 visit to the same former minefield as his mother, in front of an audience that included three of the nonprofit’s current Angolan frontline workers.
...
"In a UN event with King Letsie III and Queen Masenate Mohato Seeiso of Lesotho on Tuesday, Harry explained why he is interested in talking about a range of issues in partnership with a variety of organizations across the world. 'Today we have gathered here in New York, a city known for its diversity and progress and whose example teaches us the importance of inclusion,' he said. 'Diverse perspectives, experiences and voices are crucial if we are going to forge a more equitable world. Partnerships are therefore fundamental to delivering change. Whether we’re addressing the changing climate and its effects on food security, advocating for children’s rights, or tackling the HIV epidemic, we cannot do it alone.'
...
"Harry and Meghan have always been more project-driven than his Windsor family relatives, a quality which was previously met with skepticism and some disdain from the palace staff. 'You can say what you want about Meghan, but she works incredibly hard,' an insider told Vanity Fair’s Katie Nicholl in 2020, months after their royal exit. 'The problem is she and Harry have a tendency to hatch big projects over dinner and expect them to be actioned within days.' It’s now been four years since they started their Archewell Foundation, and in his whirlwind trip, Harry’s charity appearances made the implicit argument that he has a lot to show for his years outside of the palace."

Which countries have Americans heard of, and which do they like?
by u/desfirsit
Data from YouGovAmerica, https://today.yougov.com/ratings/travel/fame/countries/all
X-axis shows percentage of respondents who area familiar with a country, but I assume it means that they have shown people a list of countries and asked "what do you think about this country", and you could answer "neutral", which probably inflates familiarity scores. I find it hard to believe that more than 40% really know countries such as Kiribati, Lesotho and Nauru.
Y-axis is the proportion of those who gave an opinion that had a positive view of the country.

Name: Amahle Dingila
Age: 20
Hair color: Black and blue
Occupation: Demon Slayer and frost hashira
Combat Style: frost breathing
Relative(s: father Motsamai
unamed mother
the youngest out of four sisters
eye color: teal
height: 5'6
Birthday: December 1
Race: Human
place of origin: lesotho
ethnicity: Basotho
Amahle Dingila is a demon slayer corps member rank of a hashira. She has come to japan after reports of demons scattering internationally by muzan kibutsuji to a landlocked country in lesotho. He visited the country to possibly find traces of the blue spider lilies due to lesotho's many rare plants. When he couldn't find it he started to examine the country as a whole and saw many black civilians. he was disgusted by their way of living but thought to have a few civilians as guinea pigs for turning into demons as he saw they were a hardworking group of individuals trying to survive the harsh winters. once news of demons broke out in the country, many basotho tribes tried to stay vigilant of their now invested country. The monarchy got involved and tried to find direct solutions of the problem. Until Amahle's father, prince Motsamai traveled to japan for a solution. he came across Sakonji Urokodaki who taught him the techniques of water breathing. He created his own breathing style from water breathing and turn it to frost breathing. He took final selection and stayed a slayer for a couple of years. When he felt ready he asked permission by Ubuyashiki Family heir of that time to head home to protect his people and train them to become slayers of their own. The establishment was good for decades until Motsamai was married and had children of his own. All daughters. None of them was interested in learning frost breathing except his youngest daughter Amahle. Who was very close to her father. She traveled back and fourth to japan with him to learn all about it. And the slayer corps. She met all of her dad's slay partners. Including sakonji urokodaki Jigoro Kuwajima and shinjuro rengoku. Shinjuro thought the child was so adorable and well behaved he saw her as a daughter of his own and offer to arrange a marriage between his son kyojuro and Amahle for a stronger clan between frost breathers and flame breathers. She met a young kyojuro who was so loyal to his father he didn't care whether he loved the girl or not. So he treated her like a princess which annoyed Amahle greatly. Unfornately, when Amahle was 12 years old, demons raided her parents palace back home in lesotho. Everyone was murdered in her family and all she could see was a woman carrying a biwa who'd smile at the child gracefully. She never forgot the woman's face. Word got out about the child's traumatizing episode and unfortunately due to her age she had to go into hiding for her safety and wait till she's of age to become heir. Amahle stayed with Sakonji urokodaki after he got word from the crows that a fellow hashira of his had been murdered. He came for Amahle and took her back to raise and continue her training with him while in healing she met a young giyu and sabito who saw her like a little sister. They went off to final selection as she was still in training. A year later when she was fully recovered and ready she took final selection where she met her childhood friend kyojuro. They both succeeded together and became official demon slayers. overtime they grew up and slaying together and became more stronger than ever before. However kyojuro still felt it was his duty to protect his future wife even if she didn't need it. A year after Kyojuro became a hashira, Amahle moved up to hashira along with mitsuri kanroji. A tsuguko that kyojuro had been training under his wing. They became the best of friends quickly due to interest. She got to meet giyu again while being in the same rank with him but she notice he seemed more on edge. she knew their close friend sabito had died over the years but saw he was more on edge about something else. But she didn't question it. Amahle has earned her title as hashira after hardwork and experience. But despite her talents she has a very goofy personality. sabito gave her humor while being raised with urokodaki. As he felt a little girl herself shouldn't live a life in such misery. This explains why her chemistry with mitsuri works so well. She also has a slight crush on sanemi shinazugawa who is also a hashira.
But he finds her mildly annoying due to her bubbly personality. However he can't bring himself to hate her seeing she's not just a pretty face with a sword. As he finds her breathing style and agility amazing. He also sees a colder side to her attacking demons that makes him quite attracted to her. Tengen sees her as a celebrity due to her background in royalty and admires her as a slayer. He asks her constantly if she gets access to diamonds as lesotho is famous for their resources of diamonds. His wife suma has a mild crush on her. Gyomei sees her as a child of war as he was notified by her tragic background. But does respect her as a slayer. shinobu understands her feelings completely as Amahle tries to hide her feelings using her kind bubbly personality. Muichiro sees her as a big sister trope as she adores his company and sibling like personality. obanai doesn't talk much to her unless its about kanroji. But he also sees she is a respectable slayer. Amahle is a loyal slayer and will continue to support her cause in approving the extinction of demons. Her only concern is that when it is all over, will she go back to lesotho?

This is weirdly specific, but I have a few questions, particularly for African communities/cultures.
I've been cooking up a Marvel OC. She's white (this is relevant).
She's a historian/museum educator, and is involved with planning and executing exhibits about, among other things, the Avengers.
She (as part of a diverse team) specifically consulted with the people of Wakanda to create a world-wide traveling exhibit to foster awareness and understanding of Wakandan culture. (Like, she even lived there for a while and learned their traditions and some of their language.)
Without giving too much away, this character gains enhanced abilities that could help heal King T'Challa. (Some of the Dora Milaje approach and ask if she'd be willing to assist with "something vitally important," as she has stated she feels indebted to them for their knowledge and guidance with the exhibit.)
Here are my questions.
1) Would it disrespect Chadwick Boseman's memory to create a what if scenario where T'Challa lives?
2) I abso-fucking-lutely do not want to white savior this. It's literally someone outside a community/culture they respect, and whose respect they have gained in return, wanting to help a friend because they can. Can it be tastefully written? If not, then I'll drop the storyline in a heartbeat. (The only reason she's white is all of my OCs are basically me except cooler.)
3) What are some important aspects of Lesotho culture and the other cultures represented in Black Panther that I should consider/include in this storyline?
4) OC uses proper titles (e.g. General, Your Majesty/Highness) for everyone, and they in turn call her Doctor. But are there terms in Xhosa or Swahili for outsiders that have been sort of half-adopted? Any other applicable phrases to suggest?
Thank you in advance to anyone who can provide input here.
