It's like we all collectively forgot as a society that friendship and just connection in general takes effort. Even if you meet someone you immediately click with, it takes hanging out about 20 times (!) to become friends. And guess what, some of those 20 meetings might be awkward or unimpressive.

We all want to reap the benefits (having a friend circle, having a partner, getting married) without doing the work (going to events, interacting with people, learning to handle conflict maturely, dating). Myself included. If I could, I'd never leave the house or go on another mediocre date again... except, that's part of the process.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, the cure to the loneliness epidemic is touching some grass and building tolerance for tedious in-person interactions.

no because a man could never be attracted to femininity the way I am attracted to femininity. as a lesbian whose type is hyper-feminine women, I find that I’m attracted to the intention of feminine presentation rather than just how it makes them look. the effort they put into their personal style and how purposeful they are with their clothes & makeup. the intimacy of watching a girl get ready; creating a piece of art with practiced brush strokes or, in my mind, putting on a carefully crafted suit of armour. I see lots of love for bed-head and seep-rumpled softness, but I really love women when their are suited up, sharp and intentionally feminine

'Makeup is an art form', yes. If you use it to create funky, vibrant eyeshadows, tradgoth makeup or add spirals and designs to your face, this is a form of 'self expression', as people like to refer to it. It's abnormal and indicates you're doing it for yourself rather than to adhere to the standards of beauty.

However, doing makeup which looks ‘natural’, trying to hide the fact you’re wearing it, using it to cover blemishes, hyperpigmentation etc that is not self expression if anything it’s self concealment. Hiding your natural self to appear more attractive to society is not an art form it’s a form of subordination which reinforces the idea that women must perform and that there’s something inherently flawed about our bodies. But libfems aren’t ready for that conversation.

I just saw the video of the woman who got married without makeup and the comments make me want to die, she looks absolutely gorgeous and above all happy! Her smile is gorgeous and you can tell she was comfortable and excited, I don't understand how people can be so cruel in the comments, makeup is not a requirement nor does it make a day more special, she looked absolutely beautiful and happy, I hope her wedding was wonderful and I'm glad she wasn't forced to wear makeup and did what made her feel more comfortable.
