A few tricks up the sleeve

(Author's note: First fic, yippiee! It literally took me a year to finish, yes, I started in 2024, but I finally made it! So excited!)

Summary: Luz has been feeling a bit funny lately, and Eda just can't let that slide. The rest is quite predictable

It was slowly getting late, Luz was sitting on the couch with Eda, a totally normal evening. Except something was different for Luz. Everything just seemed so... fuzzy for her.

She knew what was happening, and she wasn't really happy with that. She had the mood.

"So.. whatcha up to, kid?" Eda said, trying to strike up a conversation

"Me? Uh, nothing much. Just thinking about... stuff, obviously. What about you?" Luz blurted out nervously, trying to switch the attention to Eda.

Eda noticed it right away, and became suspicious of the younger witch's behavior. She was nervous. Eda has NEVER seen Luz nervous before. Sure, she caught her being stressed about an exam coming up before, but this was different. Luz was just acting so... tense.

"Just the usual, daydreaming about people giving me money" she answered her question, then chuckled at her own response "What's the matter with you, by the way? Why are you so panicked?" Eda snorted.

Luz's eyes widened a bit, realizing she wasn't really good at hiding what she feels. "It's nothing, I'm fiiiine" She tried to play it off cool, but Eda knew better.

"Don't even try me kid, I'm not falling for that. What's up?" She said straightforwardly.

"Nothing important, really!" Luz refused to give up. She could be really stubborn when she wanted to be, and she wasn't going down without a fight

"Just so you know, I got a few tricks up my sleeve and I won't hesitate to use them" Eda said cracking her knuckles with a smirk.

"Like what for an example?" Luz said oblivious to her mentor's intentions.

Eda only looked at her, giving her the look that says "you've got 5 seconds to run" and Luz took off immediately after she realized what was going on. She didn't make it far tho. It only took a few seconds for Eda to catch up with her. They both were sent flying to the floor after the older witch basically jumped on the younger one. Before Luz could react, Eda picked her up and threw her onto the couch.

"Are you sure you don't wanna just say it?~'' Eda teased, then she sat next to the Luz and kept her hands on her belly.

She just stuck her tongue out. "Make me" Luz said with (fake)confidence. She was secretly hoping to get this kind of reaction from Eda, but she would rather die than admit it.

Luz's eyes widened as the other witch started spidering up and down her tummy. "Ack! Nohoho! Edahaha!" She squealed and kicked her legs

Eda smirked at the reaction. "What? Can't stand a bit of tickles?" She kept on teasing.

"Nohohoho" Luz giggled lazily, grabbing the tickler's hands "Noho teahasihihing"

"That's a no can do, sorry" Eda snorted "Should have just told me what's bothering you in the first place, huh?" She said with a smirk, moving her fingers up to where her ribs met her sides.

Luz was having the time of her life at this point, and Eda noticed it. She smirked again and then asked her "Woah, are you having fun down here?"

Luz basically choked on air right now. Her eyes widened as a blush spread across her face. "Huh?! No... Why would I even like that? It's childish and stupid and annoying, seriously I don't know what even made you think that- EEK!" Eda stopped her before she got lost in her own thoughts by poking her ribs.

"Hehehey kid" she chuckled "it's alright, I get it. No need to panic right away" then she just continued tickling the spot. She was a bit surprised with Luz's reaction. She didn't expect her to be so easily embarrassed with just tickles, but oh well. Eda wasn't going to complaining, the sight was waaay too adorable for that.

The younger witch was still giggling her head off beneath the older one. She was kind of a mess at this point, especially after being so flustered because of Eda, but holy cow did she enjoy it. The thought of someone wiggling their fingers on her sides, spidering them on her tummy, anything that has something to do with tickles, has been following her all day, if not even longer. She was just happy to be in the place she is right now.

In fact, Luz was enjoying it so much that she even stopped fighting back! She just laid here and took the tickles while giggling cutely.

"Oh my titan, you're too adorable for your own good" Eda cooed very much amused "Just look at you!" She moved one of her hands to Luz's neck, causing the younger one to scrunch up her shoulders in an attempt to protect it.

"Eek! Ehehehehe" Luz continued giggling, surprised with the sudden change of spots. "Sohoho you don't thihihink ihits weihird?" She tried to speak through her laughter

"Wha- why would I think that?! Don't even say that, I find it adorable!" Eda's answer reassured Luz. It felt nice to not worry about being weird, even though she wasn't the one to typically worry about others' opinions.

"Oh, ohohokahay" She said with a bit of relief, giggling freely under Eda's wiggling fingers.

Then the older witch decided to switch spots, and the decision landed on the armpits. Oh boy, only did she know that she was going straight for the kill.

"NAHAAHA!!" Luz laughed as Eda had stuck her hands straight into her armpits, locking them under the younger one's arms

"Hah, that's a good one" she snorted

After some time Luz's laughter slowly began to be more and more silent, so Eda decided to stop. She didn't want to overwhelm her mentee.

"U alright, kiddo?" She asked kind of scared that she had broken the kid

"I'm fine, thahanks.." Luz replied breathlessly, some of the leftover giggles spilling out.

After that, they both fell into a deep, peaceful silence. Luz was laying on the couch, enjoying access to the air, while Eda flopped down next to her, laying on her back and enjoying the rest of the evening. Both the characters just laid there, relaxing and watching the sun set behind the window.

Title: Lilith’s Weakness

It was a peaceful afternoon at the Owl House—well, as peaceful as things ever got. Luz, Amity, Gus, and Willow were sprawled out on the floor, playing a competitive round of Hexes Hold ’Em, while King paced around, acting like an overexcited commentator.

Meanwhile, Lilith sat gracefully in an armchair, sipping her tea and trying to pretend she wasn’t surrounded by absolute chaos.

“I raise you two snails and a teleportation glyph,” Luz declared dramatically.

Amity smirked. “Bold, but I counter with an illusion spell.”

Gus leaned in. “Ohh, things are heating up.”

Eda sauntered into the room, tossing an apple in the air. She glanced at her sister and suddenly smirked. “Hey, kids, wanna see something funny?”

Luz perked up. “Uh, obviously, yes.”

Eda cracked her knuckles. “Watch and learn.”

Before Lilith could react, Eda reached over and gave her a quick poke to the ribs.

Lilith jolted so hard she nearly spilled her tea. “Eda!” she snapped, shooting her sister a glare.

But it was too late—the kids had noticed.

“Wait a second…” Luz’s eyes widened.

“She’s ticklish!” Gus gasped, grinning.

Lilith’s face went pale. “No, absolutely not. That was merely an… involuntary reaction.”

Willow smirked. “Oh, that’s exactly what a ticklish person would say.”

Luz slowly wiggled her fingers. “Soooo, Lilith… if you’re not ticklish, you wouldn’t mind if we just… tested that theory?”

Lilith shot up. “Absolutely not—”

But before she could escape, the kids pounced. Amity grabbed one arm, Luz grabbed the other, while Gus and Willow darted straight for her sides. King cheered them on from the sidelines.

“NO—WAIT!” Lilith shrieked as the tickling began. Within seconds, she was in absolute hysterics, thrashing and laughing uncontrollably.

“Ohhhh, wow,” Luz teased, scribbling her fingers under Lilith’s arms. “You are so ticklish, Lilith!”

“Pffft—HAHAHA—CEASE THIS AT ONCE!” Lilith howled, trying to kick her legs.

“‘Cease this at once’?” Gus repeated, laughing. “Wow, even when she’s being tickled to death, she still sounds like a fancy old lady.”

Willow grinned. “Aw, what’s wrong, Lilith? Can’t handle a few little tickles?”

“Yeah, I thought you were supposed to be all serious and intimidating!” Luz teased, squeezing her sides again.

“I—I AM!” Lilith tried to argue, but the giggles ruined any chance of sounding threatening.

Amity smirked, lightly skittering her fingers over Lilith’s ribs. “Doesn’t sound like it.”

Lilith’s face was turning red, her laughter now silent as she gasped for breath. “E-Eda! HELP ME!”

Eda leaned against the wall, casually munching on her apple. “Nah, I think I’ll let this one play out.”

After another solid minute of relentless tickling, the kids finally let up, collapsing into laughter themselves as Lilith slumped back into her chair, a mess of giggles and exhaustion.

Gus wiped a tear from his eye. “That was the best thing I’ve ever seen.”

Amity nodded. “Agreed. We should do this way more often.”

Lilith sat up, trying (and failing) to regain her dignity. “You are all insufferable.”

Luz grinned. “And you, Lilith Clawthorne, are extremely ticklish.”

Willow giggled. “Guess we know your real weakness now.”

Lilith crossed her arms, trying to look menacing. “You will all regret this.”

Eda chuckled. “Oh, I highly doubt that.”

And from that day forward, Lilith was never truly safe from the occasional, mischievous tickle attack.

Luz, the poor baby that can’t say tickle hears this and just gets so flustered

No characters based on real people

Couples must be gay; if one of them is canonically nonbinary though, they will be allowed

No incest or abusive ships

I'll be vetting source material on a case-by-case basis, but just so we're clear I'm not putting Harry Potter or OFMD in the poll

There will be a maximum of one ship per source material in the poll. You can submit multiple ships from the same material, but only one will be allowed if it gets in

AGE GUIDELINES SECTION (because I keep seeing people use the term "old man yaoi" for couples in their 30s or even 20s):

THESE GO FOR BOTH PARTIES IN THE RELATIONSHIP

Human characters with a canon age must be at least 50. This also goes for characters that aren't human but age at the same rate as humans. Please double-check your characters' ages before you submit to save me some headache

If they don't have a canon age, they must look elderly.

No characters that have been de-aged (ex. Purah from Zelda).

For nonhuman characters that age at a different rate than humans: they must be old for their species (ex. Ravenpaw and Barley from Warrior Cats; Ravenpaw is the younger one, and is around the same age as Graystripe, who becomes old enough to retire as an elder).

For immortals/characters with very very long lifespans, they must look old (ex. Gandalf from Lord of the Rings would count; Hythlodaeus from Final Fantasy XIV would not).

Squeal

Summary: Hunter was battling Willow for fun, and he was trying not to hurt her on accident. As he was caught up in his head, Willow came across a secret that she’s never letting Hunter live down.

“Three!” Hunters grin spread across his face as he readied himself for the battle, growing even more confident when Luz began to count down. “Two!” Willow was ready as well, she didn’t really have anything planned out at the moment, and that’s just what she wanted, to go with the flow. “One!” Both of them looked at each other, the two with certainty in their eyes, confidence and courage. All they needed was for Luz to say… “GO!!” Then they were off. Willow dished out a spiky vine, trying to throw Hunter off guard before going hard on him. It was nothing to him, he ducked under it before it was even a foot away, rushing toward her. Willow smiled and summoned a wall of vines when Hunter attempted to tackle her to the ground. The main goal of the fight was to pin the other to the ground for three seconds, and Luz thought she’d be there for a loooong time. Although, what happened next was quite a shock. Hunter was focused on not hurting her, and Willow could tell he was going soft, so she decided to do so as well, she got rid of the spikes on the vines, and instead of trying to hit him with them, she tried to wrap them around him. He smiled once he realized that she was going along and playing nice, but suddenly he felt a vine shoot past his neck, grazing it. Willow in Luz stood there in shock after hearing him squeal. “Hunter, did you just.. squeal?” He stopped in his tracks, probably in more shock than the other two. “Yes..?” He rubbed his neck, head spinning in confusion. “What.. was that feeling?” He asked, unaware that he’d be a mess in a little bit for bringing it up.

Willow started giggling once she realized what he meant. “You mean tickling? You don’t know what that is?” She smirked. “No..?” He felt like he had heard the word before, and he couldn’t tell why but he felt a bit embarrassed when he heard it. Luz gasped dramatically, “okay, I’ve heard enough! Drop the fight, we’re gonna teach you about tickling!” She hops up from her chair and runs onto the battle field. Hunter felt the need to run away, seeing the smirk on their faces, but he was also pretty curious on what this ‘tickling’ was. Willow pinned hunters arms above his head with vines, he panicked slightly, tugging on the vines. “Are you.. gonna hurt me?” He asked, nervously. “No, silly! Well, your throat might hurt after it from laughing so hard, unless you’re not really that ticklish or-“ she paused, noticing the confused expression on Hunter’s face. “Let me just show you, okay?” She walked up to him and began running a finger down his side, making his breath hitch. He flinched and bit his lip when she began copying the exact movements on his other side. “Ohokay! Okay okay!“ He squeals and tries to squirm away. “okay what? You dont think we’re gonna stop soon, do you?“ Hearing this, his eyes widened. “whahAt?!“ he began tugging desprately on the vines before shrieking as Willow snuck up behind him and clawed at his underarms gently, making him crack. “WIhihiILLOhOhohOW!! NoOHo!“ He pleaded. “Aw, I found your tickle spot!!“ as she finished the sentence, Luz snickered as she watched Hunter’s blush spread to the tips of his ears at every word “You know, i haven’t heard you say stop, Hunter~“ He squeaked and his blush deepened, the tease making him turn his head away from both of them. It was true, he couldn’t admit it, but the feeling just relaxed him, especially when Willow was the ler. (Uh- not that He likes her or anything, her hands are just soft!) “Luz!! Come on, we have to go help King, he spilt a potion and we can’f figure out what it is!“ A shout from across the field echos through. “Coming, Eda!!“ Luz replies. “Send a pic of him after his doom~“ She teases as she skips off to Eda’s car.

Willow stops and looks Hunter in the eyes, then suddenly yanks the vines downward, sending hin to the floor, pinned in place. He lets out a yelp at the sudden movement. “You alright? I didnt yank too hard, right?“ Hunter shook his head, preparing himself for the tickling. Lets just say the next hour was filled with adorable laughter and squeals, and yes Willow did send Luz a picture of Hunter when she was done.

Bracket Be Upon Ye

This was really hard to seed because I know half of them will be eliminated round 1 but I don't really want any of them to lose lol. I ended up deciding to dedicate entire quarters to (mostly) yaoi or (mostly) yuri, with yaoi and yuri only going up against each other starting in the semifinals. This is just because most of the yaoi pairings are more popular and if I seeded solely on popularity most of the yuri would be eliminated immediately.

(I'm not trying to misgender Raine, and I'm not gonna label that specific pairing "yaoi" or "yuri"; it's just their partner is a woman and there's no easy way to split up the contestants otherwise.)

Title: Eda’s Foot Rub Fiasco

It was a lazy afternoon at the Owl House, and Eda was lounging on her favorite chair, kicking her feet up with a contented sigh. The sunlight filtered through the windows, casting a warm glow across the room as Luz and Amity were quietly chatting nearby.

Eda, feeling particularly relaxed, stretched out her legs and let out an exaggerated groan. “Ugh, my feet are killing me. You two,” she said, her voice dripping with mock authority, “better get over here and give me a foot rub.”

Luz raised an eyebrow. “Wait, what?”

“You heard me, kid,” Eda said, reclining further into her chair and crossing her arms, a wicked grin forming on her face. “I’ve been running around all day, using my powers to protect this place, and you owe me. Foot rubs. Now.”

Amity exchanged an uncertain look with Luz. “Uh… Eda, we’re not your servants, you know…”

“Yeah, yeah,” Eda waved it off. “You two want me to keep teaching you magic and saving your butts? Then this is part of the deal.”

Luz smirked, leaning forward. “Fine, fine… but, just so you know, you do have some of the worst feet smells I’ve ever encountered.” She winked playfully.

Eda narrowed her eyes. “I’ll let you live another day for that comment, Luz. Now get over here.”

Reluctantly, Luz and Amity approached Eda, sitting down at her feet. Amity was clearly less than thrilled by the task, but Luz was all for the idea, smirking at the thought of what might happen next.

As they began massaging Eda’s feet, Eda let out a sigh of contentment. “Yeah, this is the life. You two better start working those knots out—my feet have been through a lot.”

But then, as Luz kneaded one of Eda’s arches, she noticed something… peculiar. Eda’s foot twitched. Not just a little movement, but a full, jerky reaction.

“Did you just—?” Luz smirked, her eyes narrowing. “Wait a second. Are you ticklish?”

Eda, caught off guard, sat up quickly. “Pfft! Me? Ticklish? I don’t—”

Before Eda could finish her sentence, Amity took the opportunity to press her thumb into the base of Eda’s foot. Eda flinched instantly, her foot jerking away.

“Ha! You are ticklish!” Luz exclaimed, her grin widening. “Oh, this just got interesting.”

“Stop that!” Eda snapped, but there was a hint of unease in her voice. “I’m not ticklish! You’re imagining things.”

“Sure, sure,” Amity said, her voice laced with mischief. She pressed her fingers into the ball of Eda’s foot, and Eda let out a small squeal, immediately pulling her foot back.

Luz chuckled. “Oh, this is gold. Who knew the mighty Eda Clawthorne had a weakness?”

Eda’s eyes widened. “You two better not—”

Too late. With a shared glance, Luz and Amity both dove into action. Luz grabbed Eda’s foot while Amity tickled the arch with gentle but persistent movements.

“AHH! NO! STOP!” Eda cried out, trying to pull her foot away, but Luz held it firm, grinning at her success.

Amity wasn’t backing down either, her fingers dancing lightly across the base of Eda’s toes. “What’s wrong, Eda? I thought you weren’t ticklish?”

Eda’s face reddened in embarrassment as her laughter bubbled out uncontrollably. “NOHOHO! I’M NOT TICKLISH!” she protested, but her laughter said otherwise.

“Really? Because you’re laughing pretty hard for someone who’s not ticklish,” Luz teased, wiggling her fingers even faster.

Eda squirmed in her chair, kicking her foot and trying to pull it away, but Luz held her in place with surprising strength for someone so small. “You two—OH NO! STOP IT!” she begged between gasps of laughter.

Amity leaned in closer, her voice teasing. “Hmm, I don’t think I’m done yet. Your feet are just too sensitive, Eda.”

Luz was practically doubled over with laughter as she continued to tickle the sides of Eda’s foot. “You have got to be kidding me. The most powerful witch in the Boiling Isles is this ticklish?”

“STOP! I—I CAN’T BREATHE!” Eda gasped, her body shaking with uncontrollable laughter. Her usual confident demeanor was nowhere to be found as she was reduced to a giggling mess.

The two younger witches showed no mercy, having found their new favorite way to make Eda squirm.

Finally, after what felt like hours, Amity and Luz stopped, both of them sitting back and watching Eda struggle to catch her breath. Eda’s face was flushed with laughter-induced exhaustion, and her usual tough exterior had cracked completely.

Luz wiped a tear from her eye. “Wow, Eda. I think you’ve had enough fun for one day.”

Amity, grinning, added, “You’ve really got to stop acting like you’re invincible. You’re so ticklish.”

Eda was panting, still recovering from the tickling barrage. She shot them both a glare, but there was no heat behind it. “Okay, okay, you two. You got me. I admit it. I���m ticklish. Happy now?”

Luz smiled wickedly. “Oh, very happy.”

Amity leaned in. “But just remember, Eda… payback’s a thing. We’ll be watching.”

“Yeah, I’ll get you both next time!” Eda promised, though there was a mischievous gleam in her eye. “You haven’t seen the last of me.”

As Eda sat there, catching her breath and trying to regain her dignity, Luz and Amity exchanged a victorious look. They’d discovered her weakness—and they were definitely going to have fun with it again.
