Hope this doesn’t come off as rude or anything but I’ve noticed that you have been using both Petrova and Petrov for Elena, and seeing how she was born and raised in Russia, she would be most likely only use Petrova and not Petrov if she identifies solely as female.

On that same note, El sounds fine if she picked it out herself or was given the nickname by the international scene, but the most common Russian nickname for that name is Lena and the variations of it.

buying things in this world is interesting.

An honest form of money is tangible silver & gold as a store of value, always bearing a constant physical weight (according to earth’s gravity) that can be measured in a rarity of metal that has been unearthed, and that work can be compensated for by a certain amount (measure) of such weight, just as with everything that needs to be purchased or transferred rather than the artificial creation of currency in a debt-based monetary system with central banks working with commercial banks that don’t even actually hold all of its depositor’s cash. banks that actively lend most of it out over and over again, with some cash in bonds that fluctuate according to set interest rates manipulated by central banks, which can be a risky bet as recently seen with banks collapsing in on themselves.

but of course gold and silver is difficult to carry around, to be sure, and there are governments now looking into gold-backed methods of exchange such as stablecoins that are digitally held and transferred. and there’s been a push into CBDC’s in various countries. alongside of this are the cryptocurrencies that have formed that people have parked their cash in, rising and falling in value. the monetary world is indeed changing.

and even if the financial system morphs into something better than it is, yet there will be a forced monetary control at some point cast upon the world which has been made possible through technology. not all technological advances are used to actually better society. there is evil intent in this war-driven power struggle that has been this world, but it won’t always be this way. thankfully.

our Creator will come to restore things. to make it right.

and in the meantime we are here living out our lives, doing what we do, dealing with it the best we can. if we personally bear integrity this will make a difference. especially in a corrupt world. some business is done honestly, and some is not. we each have to make a choice on how to live our lives and the eternal will rightly Judge us all.

Yesssss! The Bonnet Petrova storyline would have been amazing!!! Because I always loved how Lena and Bonnie were so platonic soulmate coded and the fact that in the beginning Caroline even says that she was jealous or envious of their bond. After S5 I was like yeah tvd ur really ruining their development for Stefan and Damon because Bonnie’s only important when she’s saving the day but Bonnie’s really desiresto save Elena and by default the ppl she cares about. So with them ending it with those two being linked and they messed up that storyline major sideEYE peck Plec I was done!

The Bennetts and Petrovas not being fleshed out more. It is so clear that those two bloodlines are drawn to each other given the flashbacks and how we find them always around each other. Explore that! That felt like the original doppelganger destiny storyline instead of the Silas/Amara - Tom/Elena - Katherine/Stefan stuff. It's much more interesting to say Stefan saw Elena and was drawn to her because of Katherine instead of a prophecy.

BUT - would it have been interesting to know why the Petrova doppelgangers and Bennett witches always seemed to gravitate to each other. I have theories.

The show should have been about those two lineages in equal measure.

the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them

Like might be a stretch, but I have a lot of sympathy for Isobel Flemming. She was a teen mom and an influential founding family in town adopted her baby and we don't know much about what happened after that. (Which, in IRL, we know that the adoption process tends to prioritize rich families and doesn't do much for family reunification or for the families who are struggling and need resources.)

Except that she was married to Alaric and had (2? 3?) restraining orders against him that we collectively forget about! Seriously. Getting and enforcing a restraining order is difficult.

We know she had her humanity turned off for a long time but we don't know why. What we do know is that people in canon don't just turn it off cause they feel like it. They turn it off because of a deep trauma or need (Elena losing Jeremy and being forced to by the sire bond, Caroline losing her mother, Stefan being compelled to, Damon doing it so he could have the strength to leave his friend behind.)

So....why did Isobel turn it off? What was she struggling with? It is something I'm curious about.
