Arven and the reader trying to take care of a baby pokemon, and arven starts imagining him, and the reader is like a family taking care of a baby.
I've said this a thousand times and I'll say it a thousand times more, I'm WEAK for baby fics.
I hope this kinda works for you? It's not exactly the request but I hope it's sufficiently fluffy.
-
Baby Mine
Arven x reader (no gendered pronouns are used to describe the reader), discovering a pokemon egg!!
--
"Hey, uh... Arven?"
"Yeah?" Arven calls back to you without looking up from where he's currently doting upon Mabosstiff.
"Uhm...." You heft up the pokemon egg that you just plucked from your picnic basket.
With no further context from you, Arven looks up from his pokemon, and his eyes go wide.
"Oh, what the hell." He says, sounding more exasperated than anything. "Where'd that come from?"
You sigh. "Some of our pokemon must've, uh..." You blush a bit. "Y'know..."
Arven stands and puts his hands on his hips. "Shit, uh..." He clears his throat softly. "Is there any way to tell, er... Who the parents are? This has never happened with just my team on its own."
You gently prop the egg on your waist and take a seat on a stump. "Same with me. Give me a minute. I'm not overly familiar with breeding tactics. Lemme see which of our pokemon might be..." You wince a bit. "Compatible?"
One Bulbapedia search later, and Arven is staring down Mabosstiff.
"C'mon, bud! Really?!" He says. "That's hardly polite behavior. We owe a lot to those two, ya know? Is that any way to thank either of them?"
Mabosstiff only gives him a cheeky sneer and a loud boof.
Meanwhile, you're down on your Dachsbun's level. "Girl! This is trainerless behavior and not becoming of a Paldean champion! C'mon! At least make him buy you dinner first!" Your tone is entirely lighthearted, and Dachsbun doesn't even look sorry. There isn't a thought behind her eyes.
Arven tries to stifle a snort. "For what it's worth, /I've/ given her plenty of dinners. Does that count?"
"Nope. Mabosstiff needs to step up. He's a father now."
"I can't believe you're not taking this more seriously." Arven says, attempting to grow more sincere.
You pick the egg back up from where you'd gently placed it down on the ground, and stroke the shell tenderly.
"I'm taking it seriously enough," You defend. "It's just...not worth being too upset over, I think..." A soft smile graces your features. "Accidents happen, and goodness knows we both know how to look after a pokemon, right? This should be fine? It's just a sweet little baby..."
You press your cheek to the egg and smile into it. "You'll be a great little friend!" You tell it.
Arven's heart lurches at the sight. He imagined how you'd look holding a little human baby instead, and it's nearly too much.
"C-Can I...?" He asks, holding out both of his hands tentatively.
"Sure!" You pass the egg off to him.
At the exchange, Mabosstiff and Dachsbun both approach just to keep an eye out.
Arven holds the thing like it's...well, like it's exactly as precious as it is. His eyes go a little glassy as he looks it over.
"H-Hi..." He says softly to the egg, rubbing little circles into the shell with his thumbs. "Uh... I'm Arven..."
You snicker softly.
"You're gonna be a grandpa!"
Arven rolls his eyes. "Yeah, well what does that make you, genius?"
"A loving and doting trainer and grandtrainer."
"Mhmm." Arven humors you, then goes to sit, delicately holding the egg in his lap.
"I guess we need to figure out...uh...custody?"
You laugh lightly and scooch closer, so you can keep a hand on the egg while it's still within his grasp. Arven blushes, but you miss it.
"I mean...we can just stick close by?" Dachsbun crawls up beneath your hand and barks. "I imagine these two will want to be around no matter what." You nod to both pokemon. "I don't really have anything major going on. You?"
Arven shrugs. "Not really..."
So you stay close by. Rather than continue traveling terribly far though, the two of you decide to make your way back to the Poco Path Lighthouse. You and Arven swap holding the egg the whole way there.
It gives Arven butterflies watching you carry the thing, so gentle and sweet. You talk to it like it's already a fully hatched pokemon and can talk back, and it's just so endearing it makes his stomach tie in knots.
At one point on the walk back, you gasp loudly.
"Arven!" You cry.
"What?!" He jolts, quickly turning back to you, fully expecting the worst.
"Look, look, look! Come feel!" You hold the egg out to him with a grin, and Arven gingerly takes it.
He's silent for one...two...three long moments before the egg jostles in his hands.
"O-oh my god," He chokes out, smiling wide. "You're getting strong in there, huh, buddy?"
You laugh. "It's gonna be a strong little one, that's for sure!"
Arven holds the egg tightly from there for the rest of the trip back.
You let Mabosstiff and Dachsbun out of their balls once you're inside the lighthouse. Mabosstiff immediately runs over to an old pokemon bed and starts boofing.
Dachsbun follows over and steps into the bed, circling it several times before making a little donut shape and barking.
Arven places the egg with her, and she curls up around it, then Mabosstiff curls up around her.
"Aww..." You kinda wanna cry at the sight of it. "Do you have any blankets for them?" You ask, leaning against Arven. Without thinking, he leans back into you just a bit.
"I'll see what I can find."
Arven leaves for just a moment, and you squat down to pat the dogs' heads. "You guys are gonna do such a good job, huh? You're gonna be a mommy and daddy!"
You continue spouting sweet nothings at them, and Arven just watches from the doorway, smiling at the scene for a minute before he kneels next to you, offering some little blankets and towels to the pair.
"You guys wanna build a nest?"
Mabosstiff boofs and takes the blankets in his mouth then slowly moves to start nuzzling blankets around Dachsbun and the egg.
You and Arven stand.
"Guess we'll just...leave them to it..?"
"Uh, yeah. I guess so. I can make us some food in the mean time?" Arven tells you.
"Sounds good! Hehe, you'll be a great grandtrainer, ya know?" You tell him with a cheeky grin and a friendly pat on his upper arm.
Arven blushes. "Uh...yeah. Y-you too..."

Chapter 30- Part 5
Uh…I’m gonna…move on from that rant of mine and get back to explaining what makes Suna so neat.
The third thing is her moveset:
Tumblr media
Specifically, the fact that she has Sand Tomb, a move that gets powered up on Ashen Beach. Combine that with Suna’s pretty good Sp. Attack, and she can probably do real damage with that (and Shadow Ball once she learns it).
Of course, that's just one team member. The rest…well, lemme think about this.
I'm expecting Kiki to have a Medicham and/or a Lucario, those seem like staples of Fighting teams, and they can learn moves and have Abilities that synergize nicely with Ashen Beach. I don't think she's gonna have another Fighting/Psychic-type in the form of Gallade, since Victoria already had one and there are plenty of other Fighting-types to choose from. Like…Hawlucha! To use special Flying moves to mess with my own team's Accuracy! And maybe Heracross to deal with Psychic-types?
She doesn't seem like the type to use Dark-types, and using Poison-types seems…darkly ironic given her condition so I doubt we're gonna see any of those either.
But Ame also brought up the move Meditate specifically. Other Fighting-type Pokémon who can learn that move in some fashion include:
Hitmonlee
Mienfoo/Mienshao
Mankey/Primeape
Machop/Machoke/Machamp
Ame also said something about her Pokémon still being able to hit despite Accuracy drops, so that makes me think of Mind Reader. Other Fighting-type Pokémon who can learn that move somehow include:
Poliwrath
Tyrogue/Hitmonlee/Hitmonchan/Hitmontop
Breloom
So…yeah, a good amount of options, still. So now, let me see what I can do in terms of teambuilding. I already mentioned Suna, and Riptide is a given, but outside of that…I mean, I already know not to rely on Flying-types, so that's one option out. That just leaves Psychic- and Fairy-types. Kirin seems good with Zen Headbutt, and Asano can learn that same move so I can probably add him too. I could also add Glare to the team, Intimidate goes hard and she can resist Fighting moves as a Poison-type. And…heck, let's bring Gust back in, priority Cotton Guard and Charm also go hard.
So in the end, the team's looking like this:
Tumblr media
I'm gonna get everyone up to Lv. 44. I was considering Lv. 43 at first, but I'm also highly paranoid and so I'm going an extra level to be safe. Training time!
(Yet another training montage la
So I made a mistake.
I trained, I even got Asano to evolve-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But while I was training, I thought to myself, “Huh, shouldn't Asano have gotten Zen Headbutt by now?” And Bulbapedia seemed to agree with me…until I realized I was looking at the wrong thing. I was looking at Meditite/Medicham's Gen IX moveset, not their Gen VII set. And in Generation VII…the only way Meditite or Medicham can learn Zen Headbutt is through the Move Reminder. In fact, they can't learn any damaging Psychic-type moves (besides Confusion) just by leveling up.
So…I can't use Asano for this fight. I need a different Pokémon, someone who can actually take advantage of Ashen Beach. Another Psychic-type probably, hmmm…
Looking at my Boxes, I can see…OH! Shimmer the Munna! She's got-
Tumblr media
She's got Lucky Chant! That protects against critical hits! That'll be really helpful in case Kiki has more Telluric Seeds! And…she can also learn Psychic, which gets boosted on Ashen Beach! And I have a good amount of Moon Stones too, so I can easily evolve her!
Okay, so-
Tumblr media
Yeah! This is gonna be the final team! Now we can really do some training!
(One ACTUAL training session later…)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, with everyone evolved, this is what things are looking like now:
Tumblr media
Shimmer is holding the Twisted Spoon to further boost her damage output with Psychic, while Suna is holding the Zoom Lens to make sure Sand Tomb will actually land. I didn't think anyone would really benefit from the Telluric Seed this time, so I'm holding onto it for now.
Tumblr media
So now, here we are again. The other NPCs don't really say anything interesting, so let's talk to Victoria instead.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thanks Victoria, no pressure-
Tumblr media
Alright, let's see how this goes. I'm going to lead with Shimmer to start strong, and go from there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, Victoria's acting as the referee? That's neat, proud of her for moving up in the world.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What, can't even open your eyes to look at who you're fighting, Kiki? More disrespect! Can't have anything in the Reborn region …
Also- I'm sorry, but what the heck is this music? It's like…I can't even describe it, but it's not at all what I was expecting. What kinda whimsical wizard boss theme is this??
(Future edit: So I tried to look for what this track was because it was killing me, but I couldn't find anything. I'm sure it's a remix of some kind, by GlitchxCity or otherwise, but I just can't parse it. This is going to haunt me until the end of my days, if someone knows what this track is, let me know-)
Tumblr media
Lv. 40…am I overleveled? Maybe. But still…let's just make sure we can kill and open with Calm Mind.
Tumblr media
Oh, that might not be good. Unless…I mean, as long as it doesn't use a super effective attack, maybe it'll still be fine.

alright thats it this is my rant about palworld because i need to just speak about it. if you disagree with anything i say or have an alternative perspective then ill be happy to read them but anyways.
this game makes me so incredibly upset and just. enraged. pure unbridled anger.
just want to clarify some things before i start:
1. im aware of just how dogshit nintendo treats pokemon fans like myself, giving us the worst framerates imaginable, pushing out shitty low quality games so that people stay interested or whatever their motive is and so on and so forth, you've heard it all before i dont need to go over all of it again.
2. im not against using ai for some things. it can even be really beneficial. however when you use ai to steal from other artists and use it to make creative work then its inexcusable and should never be used. no im not talking about animation programs that use ai for tweening or any ai that's used to help make an artists job a tiny bit easier or faster, im talking about generative ai that takes artists work without their knowledge and uses it to make money. so when i say ai in this post i am specifically talking about generative ai.
alright with that said lets get into why i absolutely hate this game.
feel free to correct me if im wrong throughout this post.
ive been looking into the company's background and as many people already know the founder promotes the use of ai and greatly enjoys it. but yknow what i also found out? its that he also hates new and creative ideas! and he promotes using ideas that already exist to make games.
(citing SomeOrdinaryGamers video on palworld)
Tumblr media
oh yeah. yeah that's right. pocket pair is the company that made palworld! lemme show you what else they made
Tumblr media
notice anything? no? alright let's try again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
how about now.
yeah. yeah this is breath of the wild and hollow knight!
and also. it's one thing to steal from nintendo, it's another to steal from indie game developers and FAKEMON ARTISTS.
YEAH. YEP! EVEN THE FAKEMON ARTISTS ARENT FREE!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
WEIRD 'COINCIDENCE' RIGHT???? THAT THEIR DESIGNS ARE 99% THE SAME???
SURELY THIS GUY MUST ENJOY HAVING SOME KIND OF ORIGINALITY RIGHT? RIGHT???
Tumblr media
WRONG!
"IF THERE ARE GOOD IDEAS IN THE WORLD I PICK THEM UP AND I DONT NECESSARILY HAVE TO BE PARTICULAR ABOUT ORIGINALITY"
nintendo hasn't sued him yet. i dont know if its because they cant find a 1 to 1 rip off or some other reason like them not needing to worry about him but i hope some of you understand just how bad this is for artists jobs. while yes there would have had to be artists that modeled the models in game there is basically no creativity or originality here. 'but what about the idea of giving pokemon guns' you might say. sure, thats a cool idea i will say. i like the concepts but i despise the methods used to achieve this goal.
many other games that are similar in using monsters like pokemon have successfully made their own unique creatures and people have enjoyed those games.
shin megami tensei has its demons for example! including... including... sigh. the green dick on wheels. yeah you heard me. the green dick on wheels.
BUT wouldn't you rather that than a 1 to 1 ripoff of wooloo?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
you could say that oh wooloos just a regular sheep which yeah i can accept that argument but there are so many more that you can look at where the similarities are just... Bad. the cobalion one for example (just look up cobalion palworld youll see what i mean).
and not just the megami tensei franchise either. mutahar also mentioned other games, like cassette beasts which looks really fun
Tumblr media
and those are good designs! the game itself looks cool and fun to play. digimon also exists!
if nintendo ever does anything to the pokemon franchise that just absolutely ruins it more than anything else they've ever done then ill rethink my opinion about this game, but for now im mostly just upset about artists jobs being taken from them and artists original designs too. while nintendo can be so shitty to pokemon at times, there are artists behind pokemon designs that had their work and original ideas blatantly stolen.
i highly recommend checking this link out to support your favourite pokemons artists directly if theyre on the list.
to finish this rant off, i just want to say that originality is one of the most difficult things to achieve in video games. i get that, im an artist too and being original is extremely difficult because everythings been done at least once. but it doesn't excuse how closely these games are 'borrowing' incredible, iconic and ORIGINAL ideas from others and not just once but repeatedly.

[Not a request and kinda long] I have a small headcanon myself for the self aware Hisui -
Mostly that if reader were to enter the game before Ingo knew they entered, they'd enter more as a spectre that follows the main character around, not really able to interact with anyone but the main character. Still giving advice and telling them where to go, basically a floating talking arcphone. But the main character has gained some sort of self awareness with this, which is why they appreciate the spectre helping.
I'm mostly going with the spectre idea, as the readers body probably wouldn't follow them into the game if the code wasn't messed with properly, so they don't technically have a sprite/body in game either until way later when they mess with the code themselves.
And like, just imagine, the self aware characters notice the main character subconsciously nodding, shaking their head and looking over their shoulder as if looking for someone or some sort of confirmation from someone. So they start following their movements more closely, thinking something is wrong while also confirming that they too, are self aware or at least act out of script.
Until maybe a confrontation with a noble goes wrong, and spectre! Reader uses the code they messed with to quickly get a sprite just so they can join the fray and help the main character directly. The sprite maybe starts as a standard npc and changes to look more and more like the reader the longer the fight goes on. And Ingo/Volo/Laventon/whoever else start noticing that the standard NPC that just jumped in is changing to look more and more like the person beyond the screen.
This actually reminds me of a comic I saw! It was where the player was sort of like a guide/spirit for the protagonist.
The hero i think asks what steel is weak against or something?? And the player goes “Lol one sec, lemme check Bulbapedia.” As they pull out their phone. I’m also just,,, imagining like,, The hero tells you they can see you and they are aware of you and you just immediately are like:
Tumblr media
But I really love this idea! You are concerned with waking up as essentially a ghost, but find the player can actually see you and hear you, and even talk to you! You go through a minor crisis when the game continues without you directly controlling the player. It’s almost as if you entered a weird second dimension, with how people seem alive and yet... not. They still act like they are NPCs, but at the same time, it’s as if they are alive like in your world, sometimes. The hero is the best/weirdest example. At first, they just go on their way, as if you were already playing. You follow them, curious. It’s not like you have anything better to do, being a ghost made of bits of code. But then they see you. They ask you for help. You are almost shocked. They seemed confused when you look surprised. You had done everything to help them before now! Was it something they said? They hadn’t upset you, have they?? You assure them that no! They are fine! You just,,, didn’t think they could see you or hear you. They tell you it was recent, but they have also always been able to feel your presence. They appreciate how you care for them and their pokemon, and how you strategize in battle. They are never scared, and never feel alone because of you. So seeing you as a specter, they are actually excited! They were confused when no one else could see you, but they supposed if they couldn’t sense you before, then they wouldn’t see you either. After that, you pick and mess with the code, unaware your very presence if messing with the world around you. The NPCs become more lively, and they starting noticing things. Like how the hero will look over to the side or over their shoulder, and nod or talk to something not there. Laventon wonders if it’s a ghost type they have around them, but when asked, they simply say no, its not a pokemon, but a friend. He isn’t sure what to think of that. When the rival challenges the hero to a battle, they are confused when the hero looks over their shoulder, before making a move. It’s odd, as if waiting for orders or directions. Ingo especially notices the odd behavior. The hero comes and sees him often, and challenges people to a battle. When the hero battles him, or anyone else. its as if they are waiting for directions. Sometimes when the shopkeepers see the hero, its as if the hero looks over, before buying anything. Some even swear the hero asked someone what to buy, before making a decision. It’s... Concerning. If the hero wasn’t a huge force to be reckoned with, and did an amazing job for the community, they would have been worried. However, it gets weirder when a random person just randomly shows up with the hero one day. The hero argues for their behalf, and Cyllene reluctantly gives them a spot on the team. The hero was their strongest fighter and highest rank. She trusts them, and will allow you to stay. The hero even offers their home, and that you will be staying with them. It’s suspicious... but after the hero says you saved their life against a noble, they decide to let you stay. They can’t help but feel like your name is familiar though. Then it gets weird, when your features seem to change, and a few characters begin to feel as if they recognize you. Ingo, Laventon, Cyllene, and a few others can’t help but feel like you are someone important. It isn’t until your form is nearly identical to how you normally look that they recognize you, the person behind the screen. You and the hero are shocked they recognize you, the hero especially since they seemed to be the only one you controlled. Ingo admits he has known about you for awhile. He just... couldn’t do anything. the code wouldn’t let him, not until after you suddenly disappeared. Laventon admits this as well. He says he had grown worried, but was relieved you were okay. Cyllene’s worry washes away when she recognizes you. You are practically the same rank as the hero, as she sees it, and immediately raises your rank to 10. She reluctantly admits she had grown worried for you as well, and that something might have happened. Overall, it’s a surprise to you that they even knew you existed. You kinda worry about the fact they all seemed painfully aware they were in a game, or at least there was another plain of reality above theirs... Though you can’t help but feel a chill down your spine, and feel like someone is watching you when you leave the house in the village. The hero agrees, and decides to follow you to protect you. Unknown to you, Volo begins following you both in earnest. The person behind the screen, the true god, was in the game, and seemed to be able to control the fabric of reality. He really wanted to meet you, and talk with you. If only the hero would leave you alone for a few minutes....

Moonvale's Pokemon Commentary: #731 Pikipek
Tumblr media
Aww yas.
Just for Looks:
LOOK AT THIS CUTE-ASS BIRD. Look at its woodpeckery-ass face. Look at its Pearl-from-Steven-Universe fancy hair. Look at its lil X feet. I love this bird. It's so cute! I think this is the first regional bird to not be a borbish chubby thing? Not that borbs are bad, just a thing I'm noticing just now.
Its shiny is sadly a bit underwhelming though. The red on its head is just a different shade of red. It's like got a florescent pinkishness to it and I don't like it on a subliminal level or something. The shade of red on the regular Pikipek is a lot nicer next to the black, grey, and whites of its body to me.
What's in the Name:
Obviously, peck is part of the name origin, but apparently the first part of its name could be from the Latin for woodpeckers: picus. Personally I just see pick and peck like sounds a woodpecker makes. That and the lemme smash bird video. This is a nice stick. I like sticks. Peck. Pick.
Its Japanese name on the other hand, Tsutsukera, is likely from the Japanese word for (or maybe the sound for, Bulbapedia's not clear) pecking: Tsutsuki, as well as the word for woodpecker itself, keratsutsuki. This is another pokemon that has a fun sounding name I totally didn't just keep repeating as I was typing. Shut up.
The 'Dex Says:
Pikipek is like a real life woodpecker, it uses its beak to drill into trees to store food. It has a strong neck and can peck 16 times per second and apparently the rhythm of its pecking changes with its mood. It'd imagine trainers are taught what annoyed or territorial pikipek pecking sounds like so they can avoid angering them further and getting fruit seeds spat at them like ammunition from those beaks. And yet, it only learns bulletseed well after it would have been fully evolved naturally. Hold on, Pikipek. I gotta keep you from reaching your final form so you will be able to learn the move hinted at in one of your dex entries.
It's Rating Time!
Tumblr media
Pikipek gets a 4/5 for me. Its super cute and super amazing and adorable and I love the little thing to pieces. Though I love all regional birds.

Try Morty! ;0
Send me ‘Try’ and a character and I will write how I would play that character [Accepting]
((I see what you did thar))
((But oh man where to begin. Uhhhh, //checks Bulbapedia page// ))
((Ok so from what I’ve seen, I’d probably write him as someone who is ofc very interested in the lore of Johto’s legendary Pokemon. In addition to the Towers, I can see Morty checking out places like Ruins of Alph and Tanoby Ruins etc. More than that tho, I’d probably write him as somebody whose growing up in a town as traditional and reverent about the Legendary Pokemon deeply affected him. This reverence or appreciation of the Legendaries and their powers probably influenced Morty a lot and probably inspired him to chase after the Legendaries. Why he’d pick Ho-Oh in particular I’m not sure and I’d need to think about that more but, perhaps that is simply the Pokemon he saw in his ‘vision’ he speaks of in HGSS and that’s the one he clung to? Idk. Either way he puts all his eggs in one basket with Ho-Oh and up to the events of HGSS my Morty would have been training himself with monk levels of devotion. Through this training of his, he’d hope to develop his strength(s) in order to become strong or even ‘whole’ enough as a person to grab Ho-Oh’s attention and summon him. And that would be how I’d hc Morty to have whatever powers he’d have: he got them through his training, which let him at least achieve a partial kind of enlightenment that let him ‘unlock’ hidden levels of power in himself. This training and subsequent ‘unlocking’ would also contribute to his specializing in the Ghost type. Ghosts can exist in two planes of existence in the Pokemon world. No doubt my Morty would be interested in this as someone who wishes to achieve a higher kind of being. Now what he wants to do with that, idk. It interests me that he is so focused on achieving strength for the sake of the Legendary Pokemon’s favor. Say he gets the Legendary’s attention–then what? Does he want the attention of the Legendaries, their power, for the sake of power? More enlightenment? It’s curious to me how he says to the player he’s envious of them and their bond with the Legendaries. It makes sense since, yeah here’s this rando kid who just gets to walk up and give Ho-Oh a snuggle, meanwhile he’d been training his whole life for the same opportunity and he gets fuck all. So, for my Morty, I’d probably insert a bit of darkness in his heart in that part of him secretly wants enlightenment/the attention of the Legendary Pokemon to attain a higher form of power to use for himself, maybe even godhood. He’d have this secret, starved lust for power with no necessary end goal driving him, and he’d try to deny it vehemently, but the events of HGSS would make it eat at him. Perhaps it’s why Ho-Oh never shows himself to Morty too idk. But either way by postgame he says he is looking for a new purpose. So I assume during HGSS he has some kind of internal breakdown. Whether that ugly dark side of his emerges during this time, and whether he actually RESOLVES it, idk. However, he also asks the player to be part of his new training to find his new purpose, and, given his earlier comments about envy, I can’t just brush this request off as innocuous. Again I think for my Morty this would be used as evidence of a hidden, darker part of him that wishes to get close to the player so that he might discover what makes them, as Morty says, ‘more’ than him, and copy it. He could still very well have good and innocent motivations for befriending the player, but the point would be my Morty would be nursing a darker part of his personality that he’d have likely locked away and tries to ignore in order to get close to the Legendaries. Problem is, by ignoring it so much, it is easily able to influence his choices subconsciously and encourage things like envy and power lust to grow unchecked. And then when it would leak out, well…))
((Also as an aside lemme just say that it is infinitely harder for me to write and characterize muses when I have met and interacted with other people’s versions of the character that I really like. Because I end up loving that interpretation so much I can’t see em any other way. And I’ve met several Mortys I love so far. So sorry if this sounds similar aha))
