As of this morning 11 AM PST, the goal of 1,000,000 pounds has been achieved. It is done. I am incredibly thankful. I have looked forward to completing this goal so that I may begin to concentrate on developing a grasp for and practice of yoga. I will continue to lift because it is not part of my routine. I have completed only 67% of walking 500 miles for the year. I have 10 weeks to achieve the goal. I must walk 163.39 miles to achieve the goal. My heart does not burn to achieve this goal because I have walked more than 3,000 miles in the past four years. I will continue to walk daily. My weekly workout routine is with a ten-pound weight in each hand on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I am competing with no one but myself. I walk and lift to demonstrate to myself what I can do. I am doing more than I could do 20 years ago. For that, I am extremely thankful. ~O The weight work includes three forms of presses, two forms of curls, toe raises, two forms of wings, two forms of side lifts, and squats. I do them from standing or seated positions. From seated, squats become a stand-up. Three sets of each lift have become four. The goal is 20,000 pound a week. This makes Mycroft thin in Sherlock more interesting. Thin while fat in Canon. But if you spend hours a day on a treadmill, you certainly can't be very fat. If we want to look for references to Wilde in the Canon, these will adapt more to Mycroft than to Sherlock. Even just for the title of the first story in which it appears, The Greek interpreter. A possible reference to Greek love whose meaning is certainly not a mystery (x). A man who literally lives inside a club, and to add that the club brings together the queerest individuals in London is almost useless. A club whose rules impose silence (in Italy we also call it omertà, code of silence, but if it is a matter of defending companions with similar sexual attitudes and not criminal and mafia behaviors I think it can still go well) and  mind their own business as much as possible. Now many men spent a lot of time in clubs in the Victorian era, and certainly among them, known for his assiduity, was Oscar Wilde. A man with delicate features, but undoubtedly corpulent. A man as famous for his indolence as Mycroft is for despising legswork. A similarity that is so evident that we can even have a visual reference to it.

Stephen Fry played both men very convincingly. Although his Mycroft is overly active and has the strange habit of going around naked, even in the presence of Mrs. Watson. A clear and total indifference to the gender of the lady.

In Sherlock it is Sherlock himself who walks wrapped in a simple sheet, leaving a possible  mirrors game instead of the shadow game in the Ritchie's work, even if it is perhaps only a  reference to Diogenes. But moreover it is inevitable not to see the mirrors even in the Canon. Mycrof seems to be just a Sherlock to the nth degree, deprived only of that nervous energy that perhaps he can discharges in a completely different way. Sheltered from prying eyes in his club where what is not lawful is tolerated (I still do not speak of heinous crimes but only of sexuality). But if Mycroft had been exposed, he would have ended up as Wilde on the treadmill. To atone. And the unveiling of Sherlock as a homosexual perhaps still requires an atonement, even only by those who dared to do it (not that we are not atoning .... 10 years, Jesus, 10 years -cit)

Just came back from the gym. Brisk walk and ran combo for about1.5 miles then did legswork (barbell lunges, hack squat - narrow stance, leg press). Shouldn't it be called legs press since we use both legs to press the weight up??! Owell.

As of today, I am 116,550 pounds away from my lift goal of 1,000,000 pounds and 137 miles for my walking goal of 500 miles for 2017. I am excited about completing these goals because my next venture in health is already planned.  Of the many that inspire me to always reach for the next level of a healthier me, I am inspired by the work and practice of @1suemaitland and her relationship to yoga. I have heretofore successfully managed to avoid yoga and now look forward to embracing it. I recommend following @1suemaitland to observe a living example of intentional disciplined harmony. My weekly workout routine is with a ten-pound weight in each hand on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I am competing with no one but myself. I walk and lift to demonstrate to myself what I can do. I am doing more than I could do 20 years ago. As of today, I am 80,000 pounds ahead of goal on the weightlifting and 70 pounds behind walking goal. I have walked so much the past three years, my heart is not in it. I keep putting one foot in front of the other.    My weekly workout routine is with a ten-pound weight in each hand on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. My grand daughter was around as I finished my workout this week. As I was making my counts, she asked me, "Grandpa, why are you only counting the pound of the weight when you do a squat?" I had not thought of including my body weight in the transaction. I will continue the count as I have until I reach a million pounds and then recalculate the squats.   My weekly workout routine is with a ten-pound weight in each hand on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. The goal of 1,000,000 pounds has been achieved. It is done. I am incredibly thankful. I am now working on developing a relationship with four beginning yoga poses. I will continue to lift because it is no part of my routine. I will not make the 500 mile walking goal. I will make 400 miles. My heart does not burn to achieve this goal because I have walked more than 3,000 miles in the past four years. I will continue to walk daily. Had to split my run into two yesterday. Ran a new 5K PR in 21’17” (shaved 2s off my last fastest 5K) & did an additional 2mi of hills in sub 8’ pace. I have been gradually getting faster & able to maintain a consistent pace lately. So keep training hard & push yourself each time, you’ll get there! ;)
