Brick Action: What else Could LEGO be?
LEGO to most is a company that produces plastic bricks and pieces that can are build into a building, car, spaceship or what ever the set is designed to be. These sets in my experience either get displayed on a shelf or put away in a box, or gets 'parted out' in its individual pieces into a larger piece box or into individual parts drawers. This is not a bad way to collect or to participate in the hobby, but is there a way where we could do more with my LEGO models.
The idea: A Table top Wargame for LEGO, where minifigures and models can be used from existing sets and custom designs to play out a game in 1-2 hours with another player.
I imagine that people would be able to build their own army list from existing LEGO themes such as Power Miners, Rock Raiders, Exo-force or Ninjago, LEGO intellectual Properties (IP's) such as Star Wars, Harry Potter or Super heroes, non LEGO IP's or themes such as Halo, World War I & II or Titanfall or a home brew faction of orcs and goblins, A private military company or a platoon of futuristic mechs. Players will be able to bring their list and models to a local game or toy (or LEGO) store to play a game but also to share their own build models and the shared love of LEGO.
The plan: Using rules and game design from a preexisting tabletop game and modify for the use of LEGO models.
Bolt Action is a World War II game system first published in 2012 and the 2nd edition in 2016, and an additional weird war setting in Konflikt' 47. The games rules are able to comprehend for new players, only require D6 dice (normal 6 sided dice) and have many different styles of infantry squads, tanks, trucks, cars, support weapons, artillery and more. These rules are have variations to reflect different nations that were present in the 1940's wartime era and each of their battlefield styles but that which their game play isn't entirely different.

Lego Tabletop game Requirements
The idea for LEGO tabletop gaming is to get more time, value and display out of your LEGO and the pieces, figures and models that make up a collection. Any game chosen for LEGO wargaming should not rely on specific figures or models and should only be limited by the players imagination. Saying that, LEGO hobbyist’s such as my self with a large collections should be able to convert sets, figures and pieces into the game to the amount of polish and specificity that the collector may want.
The amount of money spent on buying rule books and wargaming supplies should be small. The supplies needed for any game should be:
A dozen or so D6 dice that are used in rolling as well as for proxy’s for more specific game dice (example being order dice from Bolt Action or shift dice from Gaslands).
Measuring Tape or ruler in inches.
Rule book of what game to play, it should require a max of 2 books to play any game but mostly only 1 with some online PDF’s such as erratas.
Templates, tokens and other supplies should be able to be printed and used on paper.
this sets some of the rules for the fundamental ideas for LEGO wargaming and what the overarching themes of using LEGO for more than just display.
