Lego Star Wars games quick review (pros and cons)
Dedicated to those who have spent hours walking as brick and stud characters in a brick and stud SW world.
Skywalker Saga
The first Lego Star Wars game I played. Thanks to it now I recognize lots of locations, melodies and obscure characters in the movies\series\even books.
Pros:
1.Hoards of locations to explore in Free Play Mode.
2. Space travel!
3. Free Galaxy, which is my favourite part of the game. Tasks from different characters, kyber bricks to find… chef’s kiss!
4. Easy switch between the characters.
5. Good gun aiming.
6. It’s a huge game, it takes a lot of time = more pleasure.
Cons:
1.Some tasks are quite hard to figure out (at least for me). Sometimes had to play alongside walkthrough tips open.
2. Other tasks are physically insanely difficult – such as making a character jump a level of moving platforms (like in the Star Destroyer remains in Jakku desert), or a track of running and jumping against the clock (like to get a Stormtrooper in Mos Eisley). Some even depend on pure luck – like Challenge in ep.3 ‘Return to Senate’, or Challenge in ep.8 ‘Supreme Loser’. I still don’t know how I got through them. Read other players having the same issues, so it’s not me being stupid.
3. To get all achievements and collectibles saved in Free Play, you have to finish an episode. I hate-hate-hate Podraces!
4. Glitches – like in Challenge in ep.4 ‘Suggest a New Strategy’.
5. A lot of not needed characters – like all types of Stormtroopers and Red Guards, obscure droids that are useless like Probe Droid. Why not make Zeb, for example, or Peli Motto, or, heck, playable Grogu; I was surprised they didn’t include Chopper into Astromech Droids. And I was a bit disappointed they didn’t use Fives\Wolffe\literally any named clone instead of no-name Clone Troopers.
Clone Wars
How could I miss smth about TCW, my beloved! Wish they remastered it – there’re 7 seasons of goodness.
Pros:
1. Quite easy – easier than Skywalker Saga.
2. Red Brick of Invincibility!
3. Opportunity not to finish, but just save an episode in Free Play, when you’ve collected all Minikits. Golden idea!
Cons:
1.I didn’t like the switch between the characters. You have to find the holoprojector if on the base ship. Also you cannot choose any characters you like in Free Play in episodes.
2. Why doesn’t the camera move the way I want?? Who decided the limited view of a character’s surroundings was a good idea?
3. Why do the studs fly around so far you cannot grab them all quickly before they dissolve? It’s highly irritating even with Stud Magnet.
4. Characters cannot run quicker.
5. The clones look the same, without colour patterns. It’s impossible visually distinguish Fives from Echo, or Boil from Waxer. They use different weapons, but still I feel iffy they wear just white armour. But Fives and Echo have small medals, so it was not a problem of complicated visual realization they couldn’t paint their armours correctly – at least colour helmets and put a handprint on Echo’s chestplate.
6. Your character is killed very quickly. One shot at a character – minus one heart, and a couple of seconds later – minus 1000 of studs. Impossible to get a True Jedi in Story Mode before getting Invincibility Brick and Multiplier Bricks.
7. You cannot aim properly.
Complete Saga (ep.1-6)
After some time of hesitating downloaded that one, too.
Pros:
1. The easiest one among three of them.
2. Red Brick of Invincibility!
3. Saving an episode when you’ve collected all Minikits and Red Bricks.
Cons (basically the same as in ‘TCW’):
1.Lousy switch between characters!
2. Limited surrounding awareness!
3. Fucking studs flying around very far away from its place of appearance!
4. Cannot run quicker.
5. Killed too easily + minus hard-earned studs.
6. Podraces!
7. No proper aiming!
8. Ships are impossible to fly – you cannot move them at your every whim and need up\down, and cannot change the speed. Annoying.
Despite all the minuses, I don’t regret any minute spent on these games (even Podraces, though fucking maddening, give a pleasant feeling of victory when accomplished). Recommend to those SW fans who hasn’t tried yet. It’s all worth attention.

Ryu Number: Albert Schweitzer
Albert Schweitzer was a German-born philosopher, theologian, and physician. His personal philosophy was based around the idea of "reverence for life": He believed that there was nothing of the objective world itself that evinced any innate meaning or ethical quality, and that the world was composed of life seeking to sustain itself, which occurred at the expense of other lives. Schweitzer proposed a system of ethics founded on a thoughtful and constant awareness of the reverence for life—all living things—from which should result the effort—through actions—to strengthen and develop it. In short: It was good to maintain and further life and it was bad to damage and destroy life, and one ought to commit to the former as much as possible while minimizing the latter as much as could be managed.
…Did I explain that all right? I don't feel like I got that all right, not really. I suspect I'm mangling the guy's principles here in some way, and I can't do a lot more than apologize. I might not have failed my philosophy classes in university, but I can't honestly say I aced them, either. Just sort of floated through while managing to keep my head above water,
Anyway, praxis manifested itself notably in his running of a hospital in French Equatorial Africa (later Gabon)—founded originally in 1913 before World War I broke out and, as a German citizen in French territory, he was removed. He returned to the hospital in 1924, and headed its operation until his death in 1965.
Yeah, all of that was really heavy, wasn't it? If you want to take a moment before crossing the readmore, I totally understand.
Tumblr media
If you didn't already know, here's where you learn that both Ryu and Darth Vader show up as guest fighters in Brawlhalla. There's always someone who doesn't know about Brawlhalla, and I love letting them know that Brawlhalla exists. (Rayman is there too.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga includes a trailer for the then-upcoming Lego Indiana Jones video game. Watch it, and you can buy Indiana Jones from the shop. And then play as him, of course.
Tumblr media
Dude's a bit clean-shaven, but it's him. He's got the whip and everything.
The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles was a TV show based on, uh, well, the chronicles of young Indiana Jones. These semi-edutainment stories would usually see Indy getting tangentially involved with real-life historical events and meeting momentarily with real-life historical figures. The episodes were later edited and released across three DVD sets as The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones, each the sets including a DVD-ROM that let you install a slightly more educational computer game version of one of the stories in the set.
Quality-wise, these games are a little, uh.
Tumblr media
Also Indiana's really blond in these for some reason.
Still counts, though. Including the parts where questionably drawn Indiana gets to meet the various questionably drawn historical figures.
(Incidentally, for his work, Albert Schweitzer got the Nobel Peace Prize in 1952. This makes him one among a surprisingly large number of Nobel Peace Prize laureates with Ryu Numbers. Larger than you'd think, I'd mean. Or at least larger than you'd think if I asked you to guess how many Nobel Peace Prize laureates had Ryu Numbers and then told you you had only five seconds to answer.)
(It's more than ten, anyway.)

‘Lego Star Wars: the Complete Saga’ (2007) has permanently ruined my mind because to me. That’s how the films are.
This means: in episode 1 Tattooine is essentially just a brief visit and a podrace then they go. It’s 1/6
More significantly: Anakin and Padme are barely in Episode 2. To me. Like they’re there for half the game and have a mission to themselves. But I kinda forget they do the whole dramatic romance thing because to me. They’re in a factory then boom. Arena time.
Funnier: I always forget Cody isn’t with Obi-Wan when he fights Grievous because he is in the game

Ranking All The Star Wars Video Games I've Played!
I am going to do a quick ranking thing here where I rank all of the Star Wars videos games that I have played. I am going to be ranking from nine to one, nine being the least liked and one being the most liked.
Tumblr media
#9: LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars. This one isn't truly bad or terrible because none of the games on this fall into that. This one is just more of a neutral thing. It does a good job retelling some of the Clone Wars show. There were some levels I didn't care for but it's really not a bad game at all.
Tumblr media
#8: Star Wars: The Old Republic. Yes, I have spent a lot of time on this particular one and yeah, that is why it's on the low end of the list. Again, not really a bad game here. However, there's just so much you can't do without being a subscriber to the game. Plus, I find that the combat is just really, really boring. It does have a lot of good though, mostly in the way of it's really good storytelling and unique stories for each class you can play. Not bad but could be better.
Tumblr media
#7: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II. Force Unleashed II has a lot of good going for it. But, one major downfall is just how short the game is compared to the first one. Plus, the ending fight against Vader is really annoying. But, the rest of the game is really good and really fun in my opinion.
Tumblr media
#6: LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The only Star Wars movie to get its own LEGO game for some reason...okay. There's a lot of good here honestly as a lot of the shooting combat was refined in this game which did get implemented into The Skywalker Saga so, there is that. However, the game overall is incredibly short, even with the extra levels and yeah. Not a bad game though.
Tumblr media
#5: Star Wars: Battlefront II (2017). Now, look, I know that when it released there was a ton of issues and I know all the controversaries this game brought to the world of loot boxes in video games and all of that. However, I played this one far after launch and I honestly have had a good time. It's got a pretty decent single player campaign, it's got the arcade mode where you can play bot multiplayer matches and the actual multiplayer matches can be fun too if you don't get hackers in the lobby to ruin everyone's fun.
Tumblr media
#4: Star Wars: Battlefront II (2005). Now, this is a really good game through and through. However, there's one mission in the campaign that I could never get through and I hate that. The thing for me is that it doesn't feel all that different from the first game, aside from the campaign actually telling a story this time around. Doesn't make it a bad game but it just kind of makes it more of the same to me.
Tumblr media
#3: Star Wars: Battlefront (2004). I can't deny that this is indeed a good game. I do wish though that the so called campaign told an actual story rather than just basically being bot multiplayer matches but, I suppose it's alright. But, I honestly found a lot more fun playing this game over its sequel but that's just me.
Tumblr media
#2: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Now, this one is a little bit nostalgic for me. It was the first video game that I ever pre-ordered and that was a PS2 copy of the game that also came with a four inch Clone Trooper Commander figure, which I still have and I have the Black Series Gaming Greats version of it too. The game is honestly so, so good and the story it tells is so good too. Just a really good and fun game.
Tumblr media
#1: LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga. This one also has a bit of nostalgia for me. I don't the exact year but I remember it was Christmas and I opened my first ever Nintendo DS Lite and then I opened this very game. My brother got it too so we could play the game together. Of course, all these years later I own the PC version and it's still an amazing and super fun game to play. Pretty sure most people who game has played this game, it's that good.

I think LEGO STAR WARS the Complete Saga was too much disrespectuf of LEGO STAR WARS 1 and too much inclined to LEGO STAR WARS II
they erased all the green laser blasters and turned them all red, they erased Jar Jar Binks' and others' extra high jump when not in LEGO STAR WARS 1 levels
and the biggest offence of them all: they just got rid of LEGO STAR WARS 1 Yoda, they straight up deleted the best, coolest and most unique character and kept only the dope annoying LEGO STAR WARS II Yoda
Also I miss Dexter's Dinner
sure they introduced new playable prequel characters rhat missed in LEGO STAR WARS 1 but
The Complete Saga can replace the II but it does not replace the 1, it completely fails to replicate the experience of playing the first game

Remember how when you were a kid you would re-imagine every franchise you were into as a tie in Lego Video Game? And I don't mean the modern Lego Games where characters can talk, I mean the old ones where characters just mime out the plot with grunts and grumbles being the only spoken dialogue? Do that for Homestuck. Now.
