So I love New Vegas and would love to see the Courier in different worlds. The thing is that I have specific things I enjoy with crossovers and things I don’t enjoy. One of the ones it would be cool to see the Courier in is Mass Effect and I’m gonna say it here, I don’t like Mass Effect. The dialogue physically hurts me at times, especially the romance dialogues. I went for Garrus because I was told to romance someone and I thought his design was cool, another factor was the fact he was a sniper. The only thing I liked about Mass Effect was Legion who sadly died in the third game for me. How was I supposed to know that Tali dying on the suicide mission would result in his death no matter what?

Anyway, the point is that the world and concept of Mass Effect is cool but I didn’t enjoy the game besides a few mechanics.

Moving on, there’s not a lot of FNV x ME fics out there and even less with things I enjoy so imma talk about some ideas.

The best and most used way for the Courier to be transported to another world/universe is with the Transportalponder from Big Mt. It could also be because people like Cerberus did an experiment that resulted with something similar to the device that accidentally brought the Courier there. He could be teleported either to the location they used the device or somewhere else which would lead to them abandoning the project seeming as it didn’t work from what they could tell. This could also be used to bring others from NV to ME since they would likely try multiple times if it doesn’t work.

One thing I never see are ones where it’s not just the Courier running around. I wanna see how someone like Joshua or Ulysses interact with this new world. This is also an excuse for me to see different factions bring their problems to a new world. Someone like Caesar or Father Elijah recreate their factions for their own benefit and add more problems to the universe.

I can see Mr House still being stuck in the Lucky 38 and having control of the strip but also having part of his consciousness in this new universe and taking as much control as possible. He would likely recreate RobCo and something like New Vegas, maybe take control of that little area in the Citadel DLC for the third game. Point is that people like Mr House who have intimate knowledge of monopoly or people like Caesar who have the charisma and intimidation to get people to follow him would cause chaos. There’s no way that someone like Caesar who indoctrinated people from groups and settlements that he himself destroyed with the Legion couldn’t pull it off in space. The Brotherhood of Steel would be estatice about all the new and unique tech but would pretty much stay the same. They would probably be seen as terrorists like Cerberus with their racism towards anything that isn’t human and how they take any tech they can find from anyone who has any.

This would take place before the final fight for the Hoover Dam so not only would there be the Courier who is already a legend of sorts in the Mojave in Mass Effect but so are other Factions. There could be some of the companions that get brought there too. Usually Courier is either by himself or has ED-E with him but he could also have someone like Boone (one of my favorite companions) who he can partner with anytime or someone like Christine (another one of my favorites) that he only got to work with for a little before they parted ways for good. They could do their own thing around the Galaxy and do what they feel is right. I can see Boone trying to take down things like the prison that Jack is at in the beginning of Mass Effect 2 since the prisoners are sold like what happened with his wife. I can see Arcade continuing the work of the Followers and treating it like a new settlement for them and putting up a clinic or helping with the genophage cure after learning about the Krogan. He would probably get along with Motrin if they met.

Everyone would be confused as to who these new players are and the fact they have little to no information about them besides the fact that some are human. If someone like Raul and or Lily was brought then they would have a bigger target on their back since no one has seen anyone like them since Ghouls and Nightkin don’t exist, the closest thing being the husks. Depending on how far into the series they are summoned at will affect how they are treated.

With the Dead Space x Mandalorian crossover I ended up shipping Isaac and Din but I prefer to stay away from any type of romance when it comes to crossovers regardless of if they’re in the same universe or not. I’m okay with canon romances but only if they’re kinda like a footnote and not a big part of the plot. So things like EDI and Joker are okay but only mentioned a little.

The Courier doesn’t have to be a companion for Shepard but could appear every once in a while by accident. The two of them working together would be ideal for Courier to get home with the Cerberus plot but not really needed. Courier would likely know how to handle something like this on his own, it ain’t exactly his first rodeo. With Cerberus being him here, he would likely find out one what or another and start hunting them down. The tech they would use shouldn’t belong to any in the eyes of the Courier since he has seen what people do with power and fear what would happen if they bring more people from the Wasteland.

Courier and Shepard wouldn’t get along at first. I see Shepard as paragon and would be seen as naive by the Courier who has seen all kinds of corruption and sees that people like the councils won’t change and see what’s in front of them. Eventually the two would respect each other, Shepard wouldn’t completely agree with what Courier does but would somewhat understand where he’s coming from.

Also imma say this right now, I see it as John being Shepard and will throw hands if I see another crossover with the focus on Shepard being him getting with Tali, Liara or Miranda. I’m okay with Shepard being female but I don’t like romance so no shipping her with Garrus, flirting with him had me leaving the game for hours before coming back to try to get through the rest of the dialogue. Yes, Shepard can probably get with anyone but it feels forced in the games for me, like it was required to end up with someone. Same thing with Courier, I can’t ever see him getting with anyone despite me thinking he could probably pull anyone and not make me extremely uncomfortable since you never actually hear Courier speak.

I can’t see Courier giving away any of his weapons and just taking them whenever he sees them but the image of him letting someone borrow something is hilarious since not only are they old looking but seem like they are impossibly held together with a bunch of scrape. Them witnessing fallout mechanics would be hilarious.

Just “hey can I borrow something from you?”

“Yeah sure, just don’t question where I get it from.”

That or something like bloody mess, “there’s a hostile pinning us from above!”

“No there’s not”

“DID THEY JUST FUCKING EXPLODE?!”

Yeah, the wasteland would bring chaos to the universe and Courier would just tag along for the ride. All he wanted to do was do his job and deliver a package but nooo a dude in a checkered pattern suit shot him in the head and made it everyone’s problem, even in a new universe where the bombs didn’t fall. Also I want to see Courier get kicked out of more Casinos since it’s funny to imagine him being banned from every casino he has ever been in. Imagine the Courier in the Citadel DLC, it’s just Shepard looking as he stands there.

“I thought you would be gambling, your always saying you would spend all your time here if you saw one.”

“I got kicked out.”

“Of which one?”

“All of them.”

“Wait what? We’ve barely been here for like half a day.”

“I kept winning until they kicked me out of all of the casinos.”

“I’m sorry what?”

“You're not getting any of my winnings.”

I’ll probably expand on this thought later but seeing Courier Six bringing chaos to other worlds is beautiful to imagine.

Least favourite Companion: Don't really have any bc I love them all, might have to say Jacob just bc of how bioware wrote him, and hes mean to tali, garrus and thane... and the fact he can cheat on you??? But its not fair, its not his fault they made his character like that. He deserved better. :/ (and also Liara SORRY just mainly bc of how much she is shoved into everything)

My squad selection: I have a soft spot of garrus & tali since you can have them in every game! but otherwise I mostly pick whoever would be good on the mission...

Favourite In-game romance: Garrus is what got me into Mass Effect but I dunno, I enjoy a lot of them. Jack and Thane's are very sweet, i'm a bit partial to Miranda bc she's my fav girl. Oh of course how can I forget Samantha, i love hers a lot!! Probably between her and Garrus!

Other pairings I like: Oh geez we will be here forever if i list them. But also I like almost everyone together lol. some top picks are Joker x Edi, Miranda x Jack, Shepard x Wrex, and Shepard x Legion of course lol

Favourite NPC: Kirrahe, Aethyta, Shiala, that smoking salarian lol

Favourite Antagonist: hmm... Bioware really got em right out of the park with Saren and Sovereign

Favourite Mission: I dunno they can be fun but then some parts can be annoying, i was literally gonna say the below answers but they're loyalty specific lol

Favourite Loyalty Mission: Kasumi, Thane and Samara, I love undercover mystery spy stuff. Legion bc well I like to spend more time with them even though the result in that is painful

Golden Hour

This is (or will be) the first chapter (I think) of a post Dragon Age Inquisition fic (because I really want to do a massive saga, like I'm doing for Mass Effect)

It's a femMageHumanInquisitor x Cullen Fic, of course, and just covers how Ferelden (and all of Thedas) is after de events of DAI

This chapter is about Sybil (my inquisitor... well, ex-inquisitor) on her way to meet with Cullen after work. All very soft and warm, enjoying the sun as she walks there.

She travels with her eyes nearly closed, taking this opportunity the Maker rarely gives her to sunbathe, as she keeps her slow but steady pace. No bag, no luggage. The only thing Sybil is carrying with her is the thin cape she was wearing until the temperature of this early scenery started rising, now folded and resting on one of her arms. The beams of he sun embrace her from every angle, tinting of honey her light brown hair and accentuating its natural golden highlights as the wavy waterfall spreads through her shoulders and back, almost reaching her waist.

Continuation of my "Didn't Have the Heart" fic (Mass Effect - femShep x Kaidan)

This is going to be my main take on the Citadel dlc + leviathan (which I always do near the end of ME3)

I'm gonna add tons of things and fix a bit of cannon stuff too (I said it before, I do not like the clone plot, at all)

It's going to start with my Shep depressed after Legion's death and I'll go from there. This fic will be my way of having her deal with some of her trauma, and answer some of the things I left opened in previous fics and set future ones. Also will increasily have more and more fluff, of course, that's a given.

Here are some of my notes:

Fix the shenko date -> gives her back the ring -> Flashback to tell how she gave her to him when the 1st Normandy is destroyed

Mention the apartment was in part paid thanks to Shepard (all the betting Anderson did back on her training days) and when she tells him he’s like: I already knew that… and I also know about this too (gives her back the ring)

Slow dancing at the citadel party

Garrus teasing her about Kaidan and she getting him back about Tali

She tells Garrus about Van and her ptsd with the bff thing.

Add a conversation with Javik, kinda apologizing after reading about akuze

Talk about Legion (and maybe Thane because funeral) -> this can be a good thing to join Steve story and tell him about Van 

Definitely neglect the clone thing ever happened, like she doesn’t go to the sushi place or something like that -> Brooks is the main villain, no some stupid clone (yeah, I'm still mad about this lol)

at first this was going to be a crossover with Blitzwing, Spinel, Pink-Pearl and Padaparacha...

but then I decided to add more to it, and added some other cartoon and video game characters into it.

also when playing Fallout 4, I really like to use the baseball bat to fight with, so that is why Nora from the Fallout 4 game, is holding a bat and seems to be keeping a eye out for danger...and yeah even if it isn’t canon, in this drawing, Husk has a little crush on Nora...

also Husk has a Cabbit on his head, well the hat he is wearing, and the Cabbit is Ryo-Ohki...

in The Cuphead Show, Cuphead & Mugman are twin brothers...

so if those two twins in the show, would that mean they are twin brothers in the canon of the game world of Cuphead...?

Lancer is wearing a crown and is holding on to Husk’s wing, it be cute if he ended up calling Husk “Cat-Dad”, like him adopting Husk as his third father figure.

of course when I was first working on this drawing, I had to at some point go to sleep, but then once I did wake back up I went back to working on this drawing.

the geth in this drawing is Legion, and Tali is a much better character once she accepts the geth, and maybe when she finally realizes that the quarians aren’t victims, since they started the mess first, and they were the ones who just assume that the geth would attack first, even if some quarians did try to help the geth and got k*lled for it....

but some of the quarians who fully blame the geth for being driven from their home world, are just being a bunch of shisno.

I wonder what a crossover ship between Caboose from Red Vs Blue and Legion from Mass Effect would be like...?

maybe it be more platonic, and Caboose would view Legion as his best friend, and if Tali ever talked bad about Legion, it could have Caboose tell her off by saying “now Miss Tali, I will have to ask you to stop being a Mean Lady to my best friend Legion....you are being very hurtful, nobody likes a shisno.”

I know there are some fans who 100% love Tali, I just don’t agree with her view on how the geth are the ones who are the “bad guys” when it was some of the quarians who started it in the first place.

I still think the Ralsei that appears in Chapter 2, and might of switched places with the real one when King was about to hurt Kris but was stop by Susie.

both Ralsei are different heights, the original has smaller horns and smaller feet than the one that is in the party in Chapter 2.

it’s my theory and fan headcanon that the Ralsei that went with Kris to the Card Kingdom, is not only trapped in the Card Kingdom but was replaced by the Other-Ralsei, who locked both the Door that takes Kris and their party out of Castle Town to Card Kingdom, and even locked it’s light world counterpart that is in the unused classroom, making sure Susie and Kris wont end up back in the Card Kingdom and find out the Ralsei they befriended is still trapped there.

don’t know if that theory will turn out to be true and fully canon, but if it turns out it isn’t, it can always be used in the fanon.

oh and the Other-Ralsei is using the Green Soul to keep the True-Ralsei trap in a green energy box.

If you do the Tali romance, doesn’t she say she fell hard for Shepard after Shepard saves her? She needs to impress her crush. :) A bit of bravado is understandable if so.

More seriously, with Tali I think part of it she’s an admiral’s daughter and she feels the need to live up to the expectations that come with that. She has to be capable, she has to protect her people by stopping the Geth, she has to be a leader. She has a difficult relationship with her father, but even after he’s dead she wants to make him proud and protect his reputation.

Despite being an admiral, I don’t think Tali has fully grown into leadership by the end of the games. In ME3 the Quarians choose to go to war with the Geth despite her opposing it, and in most of the interactions with the admirals they ask her for knowledge but not guidance. Tali leans on Shepard to influence them – even when debating with Admiral Xen over the escape pods vs salvage, it’s Shepard that makes the final call.

Compare her to Garrus, who becomes the Palaven Primarch’s advisor – we see generals acknowledge his authority and obey him, and Victus clearly values his advice. On the Normandy we see conversations between Victus and Garrus and Garrus mentions advice he gives to Victus.

This is not to knock Tali – I think Tali has the potential to become a good leader. But I don’t think she’s quite there by the end of ME3. She needs to be more willing to push back against the other admirals and stand her ground.

A circle is good way to describe Liara’s character development. ME3 Liara feels much closer to ME1 Liara than ME2 does either.

Objectively, it makes me feel a bit bad her – she’s definitely the writers’ favorite, but it did her no favors.

On a personal level, it makes it hard to connect. Girl deserved better.

Having taken her to Noveria, I’m also frustrated – her abhorrence of the secrets and lies in Noveria is a perfect lead in for making her an information broker, than the Shadow Broker. Becoming what you hate is an old trope – or realizing that you were naive/misunderstood the subject/etc. Take your pick.

But the writers failed to build on that, which makes her ME2 transition so jarring. The potential was right there!

Introverts unite! People are tiring.

There’s something to be said for building a skill vs relying on natural talent. If you’re accustomed to building a skill, you can continue to improve it when you run into the unexpected. If you’re accustomed to relying on instinct/talent, when you get a curveball you don’t know how to handle it.

Good point at Samara and Thane also getting hit with the conversation limit. It is odd how the characters with the most dialogue are characters that are recruited last. Surely that most have come up in playtesting?

Yeah, it’s the pause that makes me think there’s more the M-98 Widow than it being a good weapon. A pause usually indicates that the speaker is carefully considering what to say. It’s definitely a bit of leap to assume it means some of Legion’s programs were the first to pick up a weapon, but I do think there’s more to the story than what Legion said.

The M-98 Widow changing so little can be lumped into why there are thermal clips through Jacob’s mission when the ship crashed before the galaxy had switched to them. :)

More seriously, it could be that weapon technology at that time had reached it’s epoch until there’s another major breakthrough or complacency. Look at gaming systems – each new generation had major leaps from the 80s through the 00s. But the changes from the Xbox One to Xbox X/S and PS4 to PS5 are much more minor. Ditto improved computing power. The changes will probably stay more minute and gradual until there’s a new discovery that revolutionizes the field.

And for that discovery – how much incentive has the galaxy had to strive for it? They’re comfortable using technology inherited from the “Protheans” (the Citadel, Mass Relays) and after millennia still haven’t reverse engineered it. In ME1, the galaxy seemed comfortable with the status quo.

It takes the presene of a new major threat – the “Geth”, really the Reapers – for new overhauls to start occuring. That’s where the ship ugprades and thermal clips (ugh) from ME2; everyone realized how outclassed they were and frantically started to pour money into R&D.

Hmm. That leaves me to suspect Wrex avoids the topic of the Krogan Rebellions because he knows his opinion will not go over well in present company. Still, it’s good to see confirmation that he does plan to focus on rebuilding and isn’t interested in revenge. I’d completely forgotten those lines.

Assuming Grunt survives, I’d like think he’d also object to a war with the rest of C-Space. So that makes three strong Krogan leaders that would push for peace.

Even so… If the genophage is cured, the fallout is going to take a few centuries minimum to settle. A krogan civil war seems quite possible. Possible another krogran/C-Space war, depending on how the civil war plays out.

I like the extra complexity here. The “right” thing often depends on circumstances, so the additional complexity of curing the genophage depending on if it’s Wrex/Wreave in charge feels right.

Killing Mordin hurts, but also fits. Not everyone agrees on what the right thing is.

Making the war assets weaker if Eve is dead is logical. It is a bit of a penalty to renegade players, but that’s a trend through all of ME3.

This is veering more into a total game rewrite, but as an alternative, maybe link it to Grunt? If he’s alive he takes Bakara’s place in rallying the clans.

Assuming you play the Krogan Team mission and Grunt survives, he’s in the hospital. However, Krogans recover fast – so instead of recuperating on the Citadel, he goes out to rally the clans. If so, this can make up the war asset points from Eve being dead.

(He’s not as cool headed as Eve, so it still results in a different “flavor” of ending – Eve definitely pushes for peace and rebuilding the krogan as a people. Grunt? I don’t think he wants a war with C-Space, but I think he’d accept one more quickly than Eve.)

ME1 replay thoughts, wrapping up the Citadel quests:

-The Quarians have uncovered the most mass relays. Logical enough, since they spend all their time in space

-Fist is long gone, but everyone is still talking about him like he's alive. Not sure if that's a bug or an oversight on Bioware's part

-There are a lot of humans in the Wards. I'm going to assume Shepard's in the Citadel equivalent of Chinatown for humans

-There aren't any Turians in the Wards until the Markets. Was that intentional on Bioware's part because of humanity's poor relations with them?

-Conrad's "wife" will love him hanging a picture of femshep in their living room. Uh uh. Sure.

-Starting the Keeper quest by speaking to Jahleed sure leads to different results! Had to fight Chorban. And volunteering to scan the Keepers means I missed out on the paragon points when I returned to Jahleed. :/ Worth seeing once, but not repeating in the future.

-The Keepers and the Citadel are a total blackbox. How did anyone get the idea that inhabiting this place was a good idea, much less making it the center of government? And why don't they at least research it?

-Yep, running all over the Citadel again to scan the Keepers is very aggravating.

-Just how did Septimus learn Xeltan's secrets?

-Turians only wear those hoods in the Wards, not on the Presidium. There are Turians in casual clothes on the Presidium, so I suppose the hoods are just super casual? Like hoodies?

-The Banes person who blackmails Dr. Michel is built up, and then goes absolutely nowhere. Others have said it more eloquently than me, but it is a letdown.

-Shai'ra's words are a bit disappointing to me. Insightful, I suppose, but not so poetic to be beautiful or helpful to be meaningful. I don't mind helping her, but I'm not counting the words as a reward.

-And again once she's done with me and asks me to leave, because she's everything she can for me... I'm just saying, Shepard could probably use a massage. Or someone that isn't a crewmate to talk to. This is what makes me feel used. At least invite me back for tea next time I'm on the Citadel or something.

It's like the consort wants to know everyone except Shepard.

-The Signal Source sidequest is probably the closest Mass Effect comes to foreshadowing the end of ME3, sadly enough. And a large chunk of players probably never started it, and even fewer probably finished it.

-I should have realized Tali would object to possibly resolving matters with the Signal Source peacefully. Of course she would assume it would turn on us. And it insisting that organics must destroy or control synthetics doesn't help.

Still nothing that even hints at Synthesis.

-Interesting. It's possible that Schells was involved in its creation.

The creator originally created a machine to help funnel money from gambling terminals. However, the Signal Source says the creator is currently serving time in a Turian prison, so Schells probably isn't the creator. They may or may not know each other. Or the Signal Source could have been lying about the creator, the Turian Prison, or both.

-Running all over the Citadel to check each shop is so tedious. Money will become meaningless soon enough, but right now I have very little. At least I picked up a half decent armor for Tali.

So I ship Tali X Legion. How does this work, you ask?

It starts at the party at the Citadel, at Anderson's apartment. Legion and Tali wind up talking, about hacking and computer technology like a pair of giant nerds. Legion notices that Tali is getting pretty drunk, so they quietly download a few of their programs into her suit to help with detoxification. They keep talking till Tali passes out, and when she wakes in the morning, she notices the lack of hangover, and that for the amount she drank she went through suspiciously few toxin filters. She asks Legion if he knows anything as they were sober the whole time, and they go very very quiet before admitting that they downloaded parts of themselves into her suit to help out. She's startled and taken aback, and whilst she does admonish Legion for not asking first, she does have the start of some serious respect coming on. And it goes from there.
