🍺 ───── his head lifted up to find the familiar red head approaching him, a red head whom truly captivated him. honestly perhaps the first person in a long time he had connected with, whom he loved. yeah .... definitely. although he might be far to stubborn to admit such a thing. "your other half ain't with you." he pointed out while he reached towards the bottle he had beside him. "not here to lecture me on his behalf or nothin' are you?"

Logan leans his head back, sighing and cursing under his breath. He leans his head forward and purses his lips a bit. "How did I hurt your feelings?" He asks, head tilting slightly as he looks over at her. He puts his hands on his hips, biting the inside of his cheek a bit as he goes over what he said that might've caused him to hurt her feelings.

X-Men '97 Showrunner Beau DeMayo Fired
Attention, fellow mutants and curious onlookers! We’ve got some intriguing news hotter than a Phoenix Force tantrum. Brace yourselves, because the mastermind behind Disney+'s animated series “X-Men '97,” Beau DeMayo, has been let go. Yes, you heard it right: DeMayo’s exit is more mysterious than Mystique’s true form. But why? Was it a mutant feud? A cosmic alignment? Or did he accidentally spill coffee on Professor X’s Cerebro? Let’s dive into this drama like Nightcrawler into a teleportation frenzy. He’d just wrapped up Seasons 1 and 2 of “X-Men '97,” high-fiving Cyclops and sharing secret mutant handshakes. But then *poof!* he vanished like a stealthy Shadowcat. No Hollywood premiere for him. His Instagram? Deleted. It’s like he stepped into a time portal (or maybe just took a vacation to the Savage Land). Why the sudden exit? Did he accidentally turn Beast’s fur pink during a script meeting? Or maybe he tried to replace Wolverine’s claws with baguette slices (because every mutant needs a snack). The truth is shrouded in more mystery than Jean Grey’s Phoenix saga. Some say he challenged Gambit to a card-throwing contest. Others claim he accidentally summoned Mojo from another dimension. Either way, it’s a mutant-sized enigma. Beyond “X-Men '97,” DeMayo’s been weaving spells across the Marvel universe. Remember “Moon Knight”? Yep, that’s his handiwork, starring Oscar Isaac as the moon’s brooding BFF. And hold onto your vibranium shields: DeMayo’s scripting “Blade,” with Mahershala Ali as the vampire-slaying daywalker. But wait, there’s more! He’s dipped his quill into “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” Netflix’s “The Witcher” (Henry Cavill in leather armor: hubba hubba), and even animated “League of Legends” shorts. The guy’s busier than Deadpool at a chimichanga buffet. Now, let’s talk about “X-Men '97.” The OG mutants are back, folks! Professor Charles Xavier is allegedly pushing up daisies. But guess who’s got his last will and testament? Magneto, the master of metal manipulation. What’s in there? A recipe for mutant enchiladas? A playlist titled “Telepathic Grooves”? Nah, it’s probably just a note: “Dear Magneto, water my bonsai tree and keep your helmet out of my fridge.” Who’s suiting up for this nostalgia trip? Wolverine’s sharpening his claws, Cyclops is recalibrating his optic blasts, and Jean Grey’s practicing her telekinesis (no broken vases this time). Storm’s checking the weather forecast (spoiler: thunderstorms), and Jubilee’s perfecting her fireworks show. Beast is reading Shakespeare to the Danger Room, Gambit’s dealing cards like a mutant croupier, and Morph…well, Morph’s just being Morph. Bishop’s flexing his biceps, and Professor X? He’s either sipping cosmic tea or playing chess with Death herself. So, whether DeMayo’s exit was a cosmic hiccup or a mutant conspiracy, “X-Men '97” promises more drama than Magneto’s helmet collection. Tune in, grab your mutant snacks, and remember: When life gives you adamantium, make metaphorical pancakes. And when life fires your showrunner, just blame it on Mojo. He’s used to taking the fall. Stay mutant, stay marvelous, and may your mutant powers never glitch during a crucial battle. Excelsior!

Current X-book Mood-Ring Guide
There are an awful lot of X-books on the shelves right now. They are most of my monthly haul. No joke it is at least 12 books at this point. So, in order to cope with that, I’ve organized all the books into one of four different categories, aka “booster-pack” themes. Click through if you want to jump aboard the best X-men run since Morrison before the boat pushes off for the Hellfire Gala this summer! These are the 4 categories:
-Mainline Blue/Gold-style
-Jr. Mutants Academy
-2nd-Wave Krakoa Niche (aka “the good stuff”)
-Cetera
#1. Mainline Blue/Gold-style
Mood-color/vibe: Actually 90s-style Blue/Gold and like bright primary colors (but also muddy-ass colors from X-factor).
Books included: X-men, Excalibur, Marauders, X-force
Typical Pokemon: Scott Summers, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Betsy Braddock, Kate Pride, Beast, Black Tom, Storm, Bishop, Emma Frost, Rogue, Gambit, Jubilee, Kid Omega, Domino, a Pyro, Iceman, Avalanche. Rare drops: Apocalypse, X-23, Synch, Darwin, Kid Cable, Fantomex (in that Giant-Sized!)
These be the books for someone who wants those direct, mainline, core-members-style lineups. On the main book (adjective/word-play-less X-men) Hickman/Yu have worked wonders with their run, but it hasn’t been a stable team, instead focusing on Scott and his adventures dealing with some of the more prominent threats to Krakoa.
So it’s essentially been a revolving door of a book with Cyclops sometimes leading assaults against major problems and sometimes just being a dad to teenagers from the future, and it’s been generally great.
Meanwhile, the teams we find on the other 3 books could basically be a main X-men team if you just throw Jean/Scott/Logan onto them (except for X-force because Logan is usually on that one, actually, and Jean sort of is..)
X-force: Wolverine usually, Kid Omega, Beast, Jean (quitting?/back-up), Domino sorta, Sage, Black Tom Cassidy, Colossus once? Forge sorta. [Lot’s of backup or sometimes-members on this team but kinda centers on Beast, Omega, Wolverine and Jean or Domino]
Excalibur: Betsy Braddock, Rogue, Jubilee, Gambit, Avalanche, baby/dragon Shogo, Apocalypse (honorary, mia)
Marauders: Kate Pride, Storm, Emma Frost, a Pyro, Iceman, Bishop
On X-force, you get a little Morrison-homage energy going on what with Beast being sus, Quentin Quire having a character arc and dating a cuckoo and then all the body-horror. This one hasn’t been amazing and the art sometimes has issues for me but it’s been a solid expansion on Krakoa-Era lore.
On Marauders, you get a book centered on Kate Pride and the Hellfire Club. It’s been aight but I’m not the biggest Kate fan. Definitely has heart and the art has been beautiful.
Excalibur started a little weird for me... I lack the references or attachment to Otherworld or Davis/Moore-era Excalibur so I don’t think I’m even really the target demo, but I will say it recently, post-X of Swords-- which it set up single-handedly basically [along w/ one ish of X-men]-- has gotten more interesting in recent months. The Betsy + Kwannon stuff was great! And Howard did great with Apocalypse before he went off to another dimension. (points off for iffy color-palettes sometimes).
#2. Jr. Mutants Academy
Mood-color/vibe: Pastel
Books: New Mutants, X-factor, Children of the Atom, Cable
Common Pokemon: Magik, Cable, Rachel Summers, Doug, Warlock, Armor, Boom Boom, Scout, Dani, Warpath, Karma, Glob, Beak, Daken, Eye-boy, North Star, Rachael, Prodigy those Children of the Atom kids, Magma, Rahne, and a lot of lil kid mutants runnin’ around in Akademos/the Wild Hunt area of Krakoa whose names I don’t know yet.
This is the junior-crew club. New Mutants would be in the Blue/Gold books practically due to being part of the first wave of post-HoX/DoX books, but its basically been 3 different books/teams over its run and along w/ Children/Cable/X-Factor, it feels like there a whole handful of books offering up junior-crew shenanigans specifically.
So New Mutants has been all over the place, starting with a lineup of OG Claremont era New Muties, then focusing on a team consisting of Glob, Armor and Boom Boom (perpetual...”young adult” I guess?), now settling on a new team under Vita Ayala with Magik and Warpath heading up a squad of young ‘uns (beautiful art on the recent stretch). Hopefully it’s settling into its self now, because I can see longevity for this new squad... maybe.
I still have to read the 2nd issue of Children of the Atom, but am intrigued by it. X-factor meanwhile seems to be focusing on queer representation with people like Prodigy, Daken, North Star and Rachel on the same group together. Polaris started out the lead of that title only to be plucked out by Duggan (or the fanbase) for the main X-team coming up. This honestly makes sense, because even though she isn’t drawn this way, shouldn’t Polaris be considerably older than someone like Rachel? Eh.
Also, in issue #4 of X-factor we had a beautiful homage to the Academy X mutants, with several cameos, so it seems like Marvel is intentionally using these junior-crew books to acknowledge all the various junior-crews, whether it be OG Claremont kids, Generation X people, the kids intro’d under Morrison and Whedon, or even the dang ‘ol Academy X ones, they seem to all be getting at least some representation in some book.
Also Cable owns. Didn’t know I’d like the Kid-Cable guy until this book and his appearances in the main title, but now it’s confirmed. Him dating Esme, Kid Omega dating Phoebe? These crazy telepaths! Anyway, I hope Duggan’s main-team book is more like Cable than Marauders, in terms of pacing and characterization, but they both have beautiful art!
New mutants: Karma, Magik, Mirage, Scout, Warlock, Warpath and Wolfsbane
X-factor: Daken, Eye-boy, Polaris (quit?), North Star, Rachael, Prodigy
#3. 2nd-gen Krakoa Niche aka “the good stuff”
mood-color/vibe: purples, metaphysical/cosmic pallets, tertiary colors
books included: Hellions, S.W.O.R.D., Way of X
common Pokemon: I mean they’re basically all rare drops
This is the good stuff! Who would have thought. And when I think about it, Way of X and S.W.O.R.D., as part of the second wave of Krakoa-era books that started with Cable, both address some of the core issues and ideas that the whole HoX/DoX mini kicked off better than-- or at least more directly-- the other books. So I guess the non X-men, first-wave Krakoa books feel “mainline” in terms of their team lineups, but in terms of content, these newer ones almost feel more relevant by design. S.W.O.R.D. focuses on the cosmic context of the mutants post-Krakoa and Way is Kurt’s first spot-light moment in the era and is expressly concerned with Kurt’s addressing of the deeper moral quandaries that a people who have conquered death will be faced with. I mean, it's expressly about religion and like, spirituality-- a very tall order, but first issue pulled it off super deftly.
Also Hellions is better than it has any business being! Read this if you want savagely dark humor and some very obscure mutants + Havok/Psylocke/Sinister. But if I had to reccomend one, it’d be a tie b/w S.W.O.R.D and Way. First issue of Way was exceptional and got right into things and Kurt’s very well-written and will surely prove a meditative lead for a book like this, whereas S.W.O.R.D is epic in scale while still have sick character moments/dialogue. Manifold had a great issue or two and is now my favorite new mutant, even in the context of a somehow-actually-good King in Black tie-in. Damn! And everything going on b/w Magneto and Fabian Cortez (who was made to argue for why mutants should be allowed to murder “flatscans/humans to the whole Krakoan council this week whilst naked. It’s fantastic. Hell, even the Snark-War sounds...interesting? What’s happening to me.
S.W.O.R.D.: Fabian Cortez, Magneto, Abigail Brand, Peeper, Manifold, Wiz-Kid, Mentallo, Fenzy
Children of the Atom: Cherub, Marvel Guy, Cyclops-Lass (?), Gimmick, Daycrawler
Hellions: Havok, Psylocke, Empath, Orphan-Maker, Nanny, Wild Child, Sinister, Greycrow
#4. Cetera
Mood-color/vibe: colorless, “normal” element
Books included: Fallen Angels (complete 6-ish mini), All the damn Wolverine books, the uh Sword of X “guidebook” and the new Peach Momoko Demon Days books and whatever X-men Legends is.
These are titles which are either complete or don’t fit in with other things or in Demon Days or the X-men Legends’ books’ case, I think don’t even occur in-universe. And per usual of course there are multiple Wolverine books... the main one seems fine.
Anyway all-in-all, these books are doing weirdly well. Mutants as a concept shouldn't be able to be spread this thin story-telling wise, but the books don’t really feel redundant and most are filling a specific niche or purpose. I may be dropping some of the first-wave Blue/Gold style books (Marauders and X-force I'll probably just check in on from time-to-time), but S.W.O.R.D., Way, the main book under Hickman or Duggan and Hellions all have me verrrrrry satisfied. Even standard stories in the Krakoa era feel special, and that speaks to the power of Hickman’s vision. Hellfire Gala, here we come.

Happy Birthday Gordon!
Here’s some sneak peak Savages melodrama for you! (Yes, some of this was in the prologue, you’re not going mad.)
Thursday 4th October, 2063.
Cambrian coastline, Wales.
The road ends, as all roads must, at the ocean.
The house is old and dilapidated, a stranded survivor of the disaster that had once befallen this place, and it feels -- if not right, then at the least appropriate -- that they have ended up here.
It’s one of her earliest memories, the Tide. War had been raging and her father had been gone, so it must have been one of her nanny’s who’d left the holovision running, who’d left Penelope, small and alone, to watch, horrorstruck, as the long-ignored science had been proven right and the sea had risen to reclaim what was one its own. She remembers the refugees, grey-faced and shaking, telling of how the sea had risen and risen and risen until it was too late to run. Until only those who lived on the hillsides had been left, the bloated bodies of their neighbours bobbing serenely in their gardens.
They hadn’t had it worst, here on the comparatively sheltered Welsh coastline, but their sea defences had been weak, their government distracted, and the village of Abermeurig had drowned. The bogland welcoming the ocean like an old friend, and the people too elderly or too foolish to flee.
There had been no International Rescue, then. Lucille Tracy had been alive and well and nursing her fourth son, the small tragedy of her death not yet enough to prevent that which would be so much greater. That same son stands at the water’s edge now, kicking stones into the sea as though attempting to rebuild what’s lost one small block at a time, his own little defence against the indefensible.
There was a legend here, once, of a drowned kingdom, of locks left open and church bells that rang out through the silent nights -- a cry for help that would never come. The church of Abermeurig has long since rotted into the silt, but Gordon kicks and kicks regardless. Pebble after pebble swallowed by the grey depths and there’s no International Rescue now, either.
Penelope wipes damp palms against her thighs, and considers exactly what she's going to do about it.
The journey had been mostly silent, Gordon’s profile a pale, marble imitation of the boy she loves as they’d sped west. She’d had to think on her feet, so although their eventual destination is a little colder, damper and less well stocked than she might have liked, it is at least unknown to any of her associates. Not even her father knows about the storm battered old cottage at the edge of the world. Not even Parker. No one.
Penelope turns from the window and the salt-smeared figure beyond it, and turns back to the contents of the kitchen cupboards. There are several cans whose labels have faded beyond readability but they’re intact and rust free at least, and hopefully at the back, hidden within a Weetabix box that may be older than she is --
She smiles at the encouraging heft of the box as she pulls it out, and lets herself breathe a small sigh of relief when she sees the ammunition boxes still safely wrapped in their brown paper wrappings. She checks the magazine on her side arm, just to be certain it will fit, before tucking it back into the pocket of her jeans, then removes a pair of slightly blunt, slightly rusty scissors from the kitchen drawer and turns for the peeling blue-green door at the far end of the room.
The bathroom smells of mildew and blocked drains, and the mirror above the sink is mottled brown from age and salt from the cracked window, but it will serve her purpose well enough. Penelope allows herself one last look at the woman in the warped reflection, then takes a lock of shining gold in her hand and begins to snip away.
---
By the time she’s done the bathroom floor has taken on the appearance of a shag pile carpet, and the girl in the reflection with her uneven fringe and the choppy bob is a stranger to her. It isn’t just the hair of course -- the greyish pallor of her skin and the purplish circles around her eyes add to the effect quite wonderfully -- but she cannot imagine even the most dedicated reader of the society pages associating this exhausted, miserable girl with the ever glamorous Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward.
After all, she can hardly imagine it herself.
Gordon is still outside when she emerges, his shoulders hunched up against the biting wind, his hands thrust deep into his pockets, his back to the cottage. The wooden door creaks on its hinges as she steps out to join him, but he doesn’t react -- only turns his face toward the leaden sky, his eyelashes wet and dark against his cheeks.
“Do you think he knew?” he asks, eyes still closed, as she settles into his side. “Do you think he had time to --” He breathes out, a full body shudder that Penelope feeIs in her bones. “You know what the worst part is? The worst part is I can’t decide which is worse. Either it was quick and -- and there was no time to be scared, or fight, or say goodbye --or there as time, and he --” His eyes finally open, and he turns their dark, glassy intensity on her. “I can’t stand the thought he said goodbye to everyone, except me. I’d rather he’d died alone than -- than --”
“Gordon --”
“My own brother, and I still can’t stop being a selfish, stupid --”
“Gordon.” She wraps her fingers around his and squeezes, tight as she can. They’re cold and stiff, but she thinks she feels them twitch against her palm all the same. “I’m going to --”
He turns on her, his eyes wild and two high points of colour in his cheeks beneath the silvery sheen of tear tracks.“Fix it? John’s dead, Penelope! Dead!”
She bites back her own wince at the words, blinks back tears she hasn’t the right to shed -- not here and not now, but later. Later. “I know, I know --”
“No! You don’t know, how can you -- how can anyone know?” He’s gasping for air, his chest heaving, and Penelope almost wants to pull away but she can’t, she’s frozen in place, her heart thundering in time with Gordon’s frantic breaths. “He’s my brother, Pen. My brother, my brother --”
When he falls, straight to his knees on the shingle sharp shoreline, she does the only thing she can do.
She falls with him.

The Marvel/DC Crossover Uncanny X-Men/New Teen Titans crossover from 1982 is considered by many fans as being one of, if not, the best of the Marvel/DC crossovers. Now I’m personally partial to the JLA/Avengers crossover and followed by the Batman/Captain America crossover based during World War II. When this single issue came out in 1982, both the X-Men and New Teen Titans were two of the most best selling comics and it lived up to the hype. So what’s this story about?
DC villain Darkseid wants the power of the Source Wall and to create a New Apokalips on Earth. He detects that there is one primal power that can help him achieve that: The Dark Phoenix. Using his paradaemons led by Deathstroke the Terminator, Darkseid attempts to collect the scattered essence of the Dark Phoenix throughout the Earth. This brings him into direct contact with the Uncanny X-Men and the New Teen Titans.
The story happens in Marvel canon a period of time after the Dark Phoenix storyline that concluded with the death of Jean Grey in Uncanny X-Men 137. The story is put together by a host of comic legends:
- Written by Chris Claremont
- Pencilled (including cover) by Walt Simonson
- Inked by Terry Austin
- Colored by Glynis Wein
- Lettered by Tom Orzechowski
What most comic fans who haven’t read the Uncanny X-Men of the late 1970s and early 1980s realize is that the character of Wolverine has to have gotten fleshed out into the character that we all know and love today. It was during the aforementioned Dark Phoenix saga, especially in the issues against the Hellfire Club that Wolverine started to be developed past just being the little savage Canadian.
To be honest, the Wolverine Limited series also from 1982 by three of the five of the above listed creators (Claremont,. Wein and Orzechowski) plus penciler Frank MIller and inker Joe Rubenstein really sets the story of who Wolverine is in motion. But I digress. Back to the underveloped Logan.
So to see him go one on one with Deathstroke is any fan’s dream fight. It makes you wonder what that fight would look like today.with the modern day rendition of Logan vs. Slade. To me the only thing that was missing from this 64-page crossover was the presence of John Byrne whose work on Uncanny X-Men alongside Claremont and Austin made for some legendary storytelling.
The story is a fun and quick read. Though it really is more one sided on the X-Men and their mythos with references to the Shi’ar Empire and how the Phoemix consumed a star which in turned caused a supernova that destroyed am orbiting planet, killing everyone on the planet. I do like how the story was related from the perspective of Starfire, the one alien member of the New Teen Titans.
Give it a go if you can. I highly recommend it.

Frans Week 2018 Day 1: Game On
@fransweek
It’s supposed to sci-fi and fantasy, so I hope an SAO-version of GamerTale will suffice. ^^ ~~~~~~ The sun had long begun to set on the horizon, its final red rays peeking past some nearby mountains. Tucked away in the hills laid a noble but small village, with most of the lights starting to appear out of the windows of homes as evening began to settle down.
Merchants soon packed up their shops and started to head back home while children who ran around the marketplace all day grew weary and tired. Soon enough, some of the older children and maids who accompanied them carried the little youngsters on their backs as they too headed for the path back to the orphanage.
All in all, it was a peaceful, quiet evening. Not a single beast-like creature was stirring near the village. Even if one of them were to approach it, there were guards keeping watch all night, stationed at the battlements on the walls surrounding the town. This was the usual routine of many warriors and soldiers who decided to drop by the village or had a home there.
And yet here she was. Stuck in a cave deep in the mountains. Somewhere much too far away from her warm, comforting home.
As a swordswomen, her battle gear was simple and sufficient. In her right hand, she held her silver sword that bore red designs on its hilt and in her left hand, her silver shield with the Delta Rune engraved at its front. On top of her usual outfit which consisted of a blue and red battle skirt, a long-sleeved purple shirt, black tights and brown combat boots, she wore a chest protector, arm bracers and leg protectors, all shining within that dark cave. On her back was a grey knapsack she brought with her for her explorations and a light shield holder made of porous stone and on her waist was a belt with a scabbard for her sword.
Although her stature was short in comparison to other female warriors, she definitely was not weaker than anyone else by any means. The girl had been raised in the orphanage all her life, and would often hear the stories of old, tales about heroes fighting Monsters and claiming their victories. For weeks, she dreamed of becoming one of those heroes of legend.
But this wasn’t how she wanted to go down in history.
She had been cornered by another mercenary, a fast one, she would add. Someone who was cunning and smart enough to drive her into a cave. She blamed her bad luck for stepping on a loose stone and falling deep into a crevasse. At least there was somewhat of an air pocket in there, and she still had some kindle and matches in her bag, along with a torch, to make a fire to keep herself warm. In fact, there was a lit torch at her feet, ignited merely seconds ago.
But the minute she strike her match against the wood, she heard the nearby sound of footsteps. It was faint and very quick, only lasting for a few seconds, but she could still hear it from a mile away. It was one of her special skills. As soon as she heard the foreign sound, she unsheathed her sword and shield, looking around very cautiously. Her brown eyes darted left and right every few seconds, her mind alert for any other sudden sounds and movements.
Soon enough, the sound of footsteps returned, sounding faint and faraway. This time, however, they were slow and steady, almost as if someone was wandering around the small cave as well. As the footsteps approached her, she adopted a defensive stance, holding her shield in front of her body and her sword above her head.
Before long, she could catch a glimpse of the person even in those weak rays of light coming from the torch. The figure in front of her was about the same height as her, and as he stepped closer to her, she could see that the figure wore a white tank top underneath a blue jacket with its sleeves ripped off, a pair of ripped jeans and hiking boots. In his shaggy snowy white hair was a navy blue bandana and he wore black half finger gloves. Around his waist was a scabbard for a curved sword, a holder for a slingshot and a pocket for what she would assume to be rocks as ammunition.
He had the appearance and the demeanor of a thief, if she were to be very honest with herself.
“What’cha up to, little girl?” He slurred his words, staring at her with mischievous and cheeky eyes, his hands in his jacket pockets. “Lost your way, huh?”
The female warrior gritted her teeth. “No, I think the proper words should be ‘you cornered me to this crevasse’,” She spat at him, her voice laced with sarcasm.
The boy laughed in amusement, his face sporting a wide grin. “Sucks to be you then,” He spoke, not even answering her words. “Either way, we’re both stuck here, in this cave,” He continued in a matter-of-fact tone.
“Great,” She muttered under her breath before facing him again, pointing her sword at his face before he could take another step forward. “Don’t even try to rob me and beat me up, you bandit. I am NOT as weak as you think I am,”
Her words sounded as if they could pierce through stone and her tone could have made knees crumble and shiver. But deep down inside, she was rather scared. And this thief could tell.
He took a step forward despite the fact that a sword was pointed at his face. Out of instinct, she took a step back, clearly intimidated by his bold act. “Look, there isn’t a reason for us to be at each other’s throats, yeah? We don’t have to fight like savages-”
“Says the man who chased me into this damn cave!” She snapped at him, cutting him off. “If you hadn’t, maybe I would spare you from your tomfoolery,”
He laughed again. “Tomfoolery? Is that what you think I am? A thief?”
How the hell did he know what I was thinking?! Perhaps this was a special skill that thieves had, a way to interpret language and classify it under a category. Whatever it was, he was good at it.
He stepped closer to her and she stepped back again, the torch no longer at her feet but at his. “Well, if you must really know why I was chasing you into this cave, I’ll tell ya,” He said before narrowing his eyes at her. Any traces of a jokester in him had disappeared in an instant.
“You’re hiding something from me, aren’t you, little girl?”
She was baffled. “What?”
“You know what I mean, swordswoman,” He continued, trudging footsteps closer to her, not stopping after a single step this time, and the girl had no choice but to step backwards every time he came near her. Soon enough, the fire from the lit torch was about a metre away and she was almost cornered to the walls of the crevasse.
Meanwhile, he had kept talking. “Or should I call you, ‘Frisk’?”
She hitched a small gasp in shock and surprise. “How do you know my-”
“Name? Heh,” He clicked his tongue as his hands were removed from his pockets. “Let’s just say that I have my sources,” He replied, a smirk on his face once more.
As soon as her back hit the wall, she knew that she was in for a bad time. Before she could react, his lightning fast hands had grabbed her arms and ripped her shield and sword out of her hands. It wasn’t very helpful that her hands were in cold sweat too, probably because the cave was cold as hell. In fact, now she couldn’t help but wonder, how could this boy wear clothing without sleeves and still have warm hands?
As soon as she was disarmed, the boy planted his hands on the wall, right next to the girl’s head, to support himself as he leaned in closer to her. A few minutes ago, she wasn’t afraid of this boy at all. But now…
“Who are you?” She asked timidly, half expecting an answer, half afraid of receiving it. “What do you want from me?”
His sky blue eyes bore into her brown ones as he dipped his head to her neck, his hot breath against her skin sending shivers down her spine. She shut her eyes tightly, frightened for her life.
There was a silence in the cave that seemed to last for ages. Until…
“Knock knock,”
At this, her eyes snapped open, a flabbergasted expression on her face. She felt inclined to not answer, but she figured out that the choice to do so was not smart. She wasn’t armed, and he was.
“Uh… Who’s there?” She just replied, uncertainty in her voice.
“Dishes,”
“Dishes… who?”
“Dishes a bad joke,” He finished his joke with a hearty laugh, and at that she could feel the gears in her head turning. This joke… I’ve heard of it before… !
“S-Sans?” She murmured to herself, her eyes widened in shock. “Is that… you?”
He stepped away from the wall, stuffing his hands into his pockets again. “The one and only,” He proclaimed proudly, winking at her. “Didja really think that you could hide your ‘little secret’ from me, sweetie?”
She bit her bottom lip while smiling, an embarrassed, shy look on her face, but she felt much more relaxed now. “Maybe…?”
“Right,” He looked at her with a knowing face before staring at her at eye-level. “Gonna have to work on those skills, kiddo. It ain’t working on me-”
He didn’t have time to finish before she leaned in and pecked his lips, holding it there for a long while. Slowly, she wrapped her hands around his neck and tilted her head to the side in order to deepen the kiss. Soon, he coiled his arms around her figure as well and closed his eyes as he enjoyed every second of the kiss.
As they broke away, Frisk winked at him. “You know I think it’ll be a lot better if I kiss you in real life, Sans,”
Sans nodded back in reply. “Sure, little girl. Anything you want,”
~~~~~~
In the real world, Frisk slowly took off the VR headset on her head, shaking her head slightly to readjust herself back to the real world, to remind herself that she was not in a cave but in her own room, on her comfy bed. As the seconds ticked by, she raised her fingers to her lips, gently touching them as she remembered the incident that had occured merely moments before.
Just then, the door opened and a familiar grinning skeleton sauntered into the room, sporting a cheeky yet caring smile.
“You didn’t tell me that you started playing Delta Kingdom, Frisky,” He smirked at her, a knowing look written all over his face.
“I wanted it to be a surprise,” She replied, as sly as a fox. “But you just had to go change your appearance and ruin it like that,” She complained, though she was smiling.
The skeleton strolled over to her bed and sat down, crawling to the teenage girl’s side. He wrapped his left arm around her petite figure while his free hand rested on her chin, cueing her to turn and face him. “Aw, I’m sorry for ruining the surprise,” He chuckled before leaning closer to her. “Mind if I make it up to you?”
Frisk had attempted to pull of a pouty face at him, but she was silenced as soon as he leaned in closer to her. She sighed softly as her cheeks turned beet red. “You’d better,” She giggled as she closed her eyes and felt his lips against hers for the second time that day. It felt as if hours had passed before they pulled away from each other.
There was a glint of excitement in her eyes, and a bit of competitive spirit in his.
“Game on, Frisk,” He muttered to her in a low voice. “Game on.”
AfrOkay so CBR did an article on 15 times the Arrowverse copied Marvel movies and boy is there some bullshit in there. Here’s the general points they made
15. They have an archer, a speedster and a magic user (Constantine) so they’re clearly copying Age of Ultron. (These shows came out out before AOU did)
14. The mystical dagger that only Hawkgirl can use to kill Vandal Savage is ripping off Mjolnir. (Yes because marvel definitely invented mystical artifacts)
13. Steel is ripping off Collosus. (Turning into metal is literally their only similarity)
12. Nate getting a super serum from WWII (kinda see where they’re coming from here but again that’s all they have in common)
11. Commander Steel is a rip off of Captain America (pretty easy comparison to make here)
10. Laurel inheriting the mantle of Black Canary is a rip off of Wasp inheriting the mantle from her mother. (Wasp hasn’t even fucking suited up yet and Laurel inherited the mantle before Ant-Man even came out)
9. Rip being mistaken for dead is a rip off of Cap. being mistaken for dead ( Yes because marvel definitely invented that story element)
8. Caitlin Snow is a rip off of Jean Grey because they’re both female doctors. (pretty sure female doctors have been around in fiction for a while)
7. Kat Grant is a rip off of J Jonah Jameson (as if JJ wasn’t a rip off of Perry White)
6. Firestorm is a rip off of The Hulk because radiation and explosions (yeah welcome to comics you must be new here)
5. The DEO is a rip off of SHIELD (again pretty much a comics standard at this point, the key difference is the show with the DEO is actually good)
4. Vixen is a rip off of Black Panther because African’s, animal powers and magic jewelry (Wow that’s definitely not gonna piss anyone off)
3. The STAR labs explosion is a rip off of the Fantastic 4 (again pretty much a comics standard at this point)
2. Black Canary not wanting to be a killer is a rip off of Black Widow feeling like a monster (probably the most BS one on here, Sara had a whole season of Arrow and Legends going over this and is a much better character overall, Natasha is blander than a bread sandwich and only had a few minutes of Age of Ultron delving into this)
1. The ATOM suit is a rip off of Iron Man (okay let’s face it nobody’s denying this one)
But yeah long story short fuck this article and fuck CBR
X-Men '97 Showrunner Beau DeMayo Fired
Attention, fellow mutants and curious onlookers! We’ve got some intriguing news hotter than a Phoenix Force tantrum. Brace yourselves, because the mastermind behind Disney+'s animated series “X-Men '97,” Beau DeMayo, has been let go. Yes, you heard it right: DeMayo’s exit is more mysterious than Mystique’s true form. But why? Was it a mutant feud? A cosmic alignment? Or did he accidentally spill coffee on Professor X’s Cerebro? Let’s dive into this drama like Nightcrawler into a teleportation frenzy. He’d just wrapped up Seasons 1 and 2 of “X-Men '97,” high-fiving Cyclops and sharing secret mutant handshakes. But then *poof!* he vanished like a stealthy Shadowcat. No Hollywood premiere for him. His Instagram? Deleted. It’s like he stepped into a time portal (or maybe just took a vacation to the Savage Land). Why the sudden exit? Did he accidentally turn Beast’s fur pink during a script meeting? Or maybe he tried to replace Wolverine’s claws with baguette slices (because every mutant needs a snack). The truth is shrouded in more mystery than Jean Grey’s Phoenix saga. Some say he challenged Gambit to a card-throwing contest. Others claim he accidentally summoned Mojo from another dimension. Either way, it’s a mutant-sized enigma. Beyond “X-Men '97,” DeMayo’s been weaving spells across the Marvel universe. Remember “Moon Knight”? Yep, that’s his handiwork, starring Oscar Isaac as the moon’s brooding BFF. And hold onto your vibranium shields: DeMayo’s scripting “Blade,” with Mahershala Ali as the vampire-slaying daywalker. But wait, there’s more! He’s dipped his quill into “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” Netflix’s “The Witcher” (Henry Cavill in leather armor: hubba hubba), and even animated “League of Legends” shorts. The guy’s busier than Deadpool at a chimichanga buffet. Now, let’s talk about “X-Men '97.” The OG mutants are back, folks! Professor Charles Xavier is allegedly pushing up daisies. But guess who’s got his last will and testament? Magneto, the master of metal manipulation. What’s in there? A recipe for mutant enchiladas? A playlist titled “Telepathic Grooves”? Nah, it’s probably just a note: “Dear Magneto, water my bonsai tree and keep your helmet out of my fridge.” Who’s suiting up for this nostalgia trip? Wolverine’s sharpening his claws, Cyclops is recalibrating his optic blasts, and Jean Grey’s practicing her telekinesis (no broken vases this time). Storm’s checking the weather forecast (spoiler: thunderstorms), and Jubilee’s perfecting her fireworks show. Beast is reading Shakespeare to the Danger Room, Gambit’s dealing cards like a mutant croupier, and Morph…well, Morph’s just being Morph. Bishop’s flexing his biceps, and Professor X? He’s either sipping cosmic tea or playing chess with Death herself. So, whether DeMayo’s exit was a cosmic hiccup or a mutant conspiracy, “X-Men '97” promises more drama than Magneto’s helmet collection. Tune in, grab your mutant snacks, and remember: When life gives you adamantium, make metaphorical pancakes. And when life fires your showrunner, just blame it on Mojo. He’s used to taking the fall. Stay mutant, stay marvelous, and may your mutant powers never glitch during a crucial battle. Excelsior!
AKA: Angel, “Gabriel”, Apocalypse, Dark Angel of Death, Dark Angel, Death, Avenging Angel, Savior of the Chosen, “Angel of Death”
Even though is was the third member of the original X-men that Xavier recruit, he was actually the first one to be a hero. Introduced in X-Men #1 (1963) by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Warren had been a hero known as Avenging Angel when he was recruited by Xavier into the X-men. As a member of the team, he was one of the backers as well as been in a love triangle with Jean Grey and Cyclops but that soon changed when he met Candy Southern. He remained with the team, only leaving for a period when he didn’t agree with Cyclops leadership. He returned but was one of the original X-men to leaving after been rescued by the new team of X-men, following his kidnapping by Krakoa. After that he became a member of the short lived team of the Champion (now known as the Champions of Los Angeles). He rejoined the X-men during the Dark Phoenix saga and stayed on the team when Cyclops left.
He would later join Beast’s led Defenders before joining the other founding X-men to form the original X-Factor. It was during this period that Warren experienced the darkest period of his life. During the Morlock Massacre, which saw the Marauders hunting and killing most of the mutants under New York, Warren was capture and tortured by the Marauders damaging his wings. Cameron Hodge used this opportunity to fake a report that Warren’s wings were beyond repair and had them amputated. Distraught, he was perfect pickings to be manipulated by Apocalypse, who gave him new metal wing and blue skin and made him his Horseman of Death. He was freed from the brainwashing thanks to the X-factot but this experience would remain with him for life. After the murder of Candy Southern and Warren “killing” Hodge, he took up the name Archangel.
When the X-factor team rejoined the X-men, Archangel was made part of Storm’s Gold team. Skipping a few thing here or there, he later regained his original wings after his metal ones molted but kept his blue skin. However a battle with a plant power Black Tom Cassidy saw his blue skin return. He later gained the ability to heal people with his blood. After the Messiah Complex, Warren was attack by a berserk Wolfbane which saw his wings ripped off. This cause his metal wings to regrow but he developed a second personality in Archangel. He was then able to switch between the 2 version (Feathered and Metal) at will and joined the X-force. He used this team to help hunt down Apocalypse followers and prevent him from returning. However this caused a program embedded in Warren’s mind to become a version of Apocalypse. Using the Life Seed, he planned to rule the world but was stopped by X-force and lost all his memory. It should also be noted that during this, he managed to get one of his Horsemen pregnant with what would become the Apocalypse Twins. He regain his memories and with the help of Xavier, gained control over both of his forms.
Archangel has had many figure over the figures from both Toybiz and Hasbro. Toybiz released a version of Archangel in the original X-men classic line but that was more of a kid’s toy. (It was later re-release in the X-men line). In their Marvel Legends Sentinel line, they release his second Angel Champions costume with the classic blue costume as a variant. He wouldn’t see another release until SDCC 2012 as a part of the X-Force box set exclusive to that convention in his X-Force costume. This was repainted and release as a classic Archangel in the Rocket Raccoon wave sans BAF piece. He saw another release in his First Appearance costume as part of a TRU exclusive All-New X-men box set. Finally he saw a re-release/repaint of the Classic Archangel as a Entertain Earth and associate sites exclusive.
Haves
First Appearance
Recommend Figure:Hasbro Toys-R-Us Marvel Legends All-New X-men Box Set Angel
Background:
When the team was first assembled, they all wore similar costume that would become the teams default training costume.
Why you need it for your collection?:
Unless you have to have every first appearance costume, then this can be skipped as the set is not that great as they use the wrong body for each of the figure (except Beast, see his page for why) as each of these character were teenagers at the time. It is needed for an Angel collection but I wouldn’t break the bank to get him. I will say however that I do like the wings.
Does it need a remake?:
Yes, using a small teenage like body.
Classic Angel
Recommend Figure: Toybiz Marvel Legends Sentinel Series Angel (Variant)
Background:
After an adventure in the Savage Land, Angel was given this costume by a mysterious benefactor. This turned out to be Magneto, who used the costume to drain Warren of his mutant powers and transfer it to himself. This was remove but Warren kept the costume which would become his classic version to which all else are based on.
Why you need it for your collection?:
This is an important costume and is his classic costume. It is important for Classic X-men as well as other versions as he has returned to this a good number of times. However, with the exception of the wing, this was done of one of Toybiz’s worse bodies. Get if you want an Angel (not Archangel) in your collection.
Does it need a remake?:
Yes, I know Hasbro and blow the previous version out of the waters.
Champions Angel II
Recommend Figure: Toybiz Marvel Legends Sentinel Series Angel
Background:
Even though he had another costume when they first appearred, Warren design and wore this costume when the Champions had a press conference. He would later wear it during the Phoenix Saga and when he returned to the X-men. It would later be redesign into the X-factor costume which you can see below.
Why you need it for your collection?:
As this was the regular release it might be easier to find then the one above. It is another important costume but like the one above is done on that awful body so I would only recommend getting it for Angel fans.
Does it need a remake?:
Yes, I know Hasbro and blow the previous version out of the waters.
Horseman of Death Archangel
Recommend Figure: Hasbro Entertainment Earth Marvel Legends Archangel Set (Swappable head)
Background:
After losing his wing and becoming a pawn of Apocalypse as his horseman of Death, Warren wore this mask to hid his identity for a short period. After he broke Apocalypse brainwashing, he removed the mask and hasn’t put it on since.
Why you need it for your collection?:
This is basically a different head for the one below. If you want to have every version of Warren on your shelves, then get 2.
Does it need a remake?:
No.
Classic Archangel
Recommend Figure:Hasbro Entertainment Earth Exclusive Marvel Legends Archangel Set
Background:
After Warren was freed from Apocalypse’s control, Warren continued to wear this suit long after. He wore it in both the X-factor and when he returned to the X-men as part of Storm’s team.
Why you need it for your collection?:
If there is one Angel/Archangel figure you have to get, it’s this one. It is the most important version of Warren throughout his character as it signified the biggest change in his character, from being a rich hero to an dark hero. As for which one to get, forget the TB one. (they are shit). The Raccoon wave one is okay but for your money’s worth then get the Entertainment Earth set as it comes with more stuff, like alternate head and a new arm for Apocalypse.
Does it need a remake?:
No.
X-Force Archangel
Recommend Figure: Hasbro SDCC 2012 Exclusive Marvel Legends Uncanny X-Force Box Set Archangel with Psylocke and Wolverine
Background:
After Wolfbane ripped off his wing, Warren regained his metal wings and for some reason had transformed into this black and silver suit. This also when he develop a split personality with the Archangel being a more violent version.
Why you need it for your collection?:
You will probably need this figure to complete the Uncanny X-force. However being part of a hard to find SDCC exclusive it might be hard to track down. Hopefully, Hasbro will re-release this like they did Deadpool.
Does it need a remake?:
No, but I do hope he get re-release to retail, maybe a X-force box set.
NEEDS:
Below is a gallery of costumes that still need to be made. Click on the image to see chances of it being made. Please note that this is my personal opinion and not fact. If I missed anything, please let me know in the comments below.
Low Chance
God No
Hell NO!
Extremely High chance (X-Factor Box set)
Possible, if they do a classic Angel then just use the wings and Head from the EE Archangel
Noticias de series de la semana: Louis C.K. admite las acusaciones
Nuevos escándalos y sus consecuencias
Netflix, HBO, FX y TBS han cortado todas sus relaciones con Louis C.K., que ha admitido todas las acusaciones de acoso sexual. Ya no producirá Better Things, Baskets, One Mississippi -producida por FX Studios-, un segundo especial de comedia para Netflix o la serie animada The Cops (TBS), que no llegará a estrenarse.
Andrew Kreisberg, showrunner de The Flash, ha sido suspendido de sus deberes en Warner tras las acusaciones de acoso por parte de diecinueve empleados, incluidas una guionista y una directora. Una productora afirma que advirtió de su comportamiento a un ejecutivo senior hace más de un año y que éste simplemente ignoró la información. Berlanti, que al parecer desconocía todo esto, colabora ahora con la investigación.
Amazon canceló Good Girls Revolt tras su primera temporada. Resulta curioso saber ahora que Roy Price, entonces presidente de la compañía, nunca vio la serie porque no le llamaba el argumento. Ahora, tras la ola de escándalos sexuales -entre otros el que propició la dimisión de Price- Sony TV planea vender una segunda temporada a varias cadenas, entre las que se encontraría Amazon. Ya no existen contratos con el reparto, pero muchos de ellos han pedido su regreso en las redes sociales y estarían encantados de volver. Amazon investiga las acusaciones de acoso por parte de Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent) a Van Barnes, mujer transexual y antigua asistente del actor. Él lo niega todo. Jill Solloway, creadora de la serie, ha declarado que colaboran con la investigación Por su parte, BBC ha anunciado que no emitirá Ordeal by Innocence, la adaptación de la novela de Agatha Christie protagonizada por Ed Westwick, como parte de su programación navideña. Y gracias también a BBC, sabemos que la productora independiente encargada de White Gold ha informado de que el actor ha interrumpido su participación en la segunda temporada, que ya había comenzado a grabarse.
Series para el nuevo canal de Disney
Bog Iger, presidente de Disney, ha anunciado que preparan una serie de acción real de Star Wars, adaptaciones de High School Musical y Monsters Inc. y una nueva serie de Marvel para su nuevo canal, que no tendrá anuncios y ofrecerá un precio considerablemente más bajo que el de Netflix.
Big Little Lies 2
La producción de la segunda temporada de Big Little Lies podría comenzar la próxima primavera si consiguen cuadrarse las agendas de todas las personas involucradas. Precisamente debido a sus compromisos, Jean-Marc Vallée no será su director, aunque participará como productor. Están buscando a una directora que le sustituya.
Renovaciones de series
Showtime ha renovado Shameless por una novena temporada
ITV ha renovado Bad Move por una segunda temporada
Episodios adicionales
The CW ha encargado nueve episodios más de Dynasty, con temporada completa de veintidós gracias a este back-nine, y ha decidido que no habrá más episodios de Valor en su primera temporada.
FOX ha encargado siete episodios más de The Mick. En total serán veinte en su segunda temporada, tres más que en la primera.
CBS ha encargado dos episodios más de NCIS y NCIS: New Orleans y uno más de Hawaii Five-0, haciendo un total de veinticuatro para todas ellas en su actual temporada.
ABC ha encargado tres episodios más de Kevin (Probably) Saves the World, llegando a quince en su primera temporada, y tres guiones más de The Mayor.
