BEST at CHR RADIO: Who tops your playlist for 2022?

Taylor Swift rules the music world and make no mistake about that. Her latest offering in “Anti-Hero” (Republic) pulled in so many adds at radio that there weren’t too many left. Her 10th studio album broke all kinds of sales and streaming records making this the biggest seller as we get set to close out 2022. Taylor has saved her best for last and there are numerous other singles from the new album also picking up monster radio airplay. Beyonce may not be able to compete with Taylor these days despite the fact that Kanye West is still in her corner. Not sure if that’s a good thing these days. Her new and well-received “Cuff It” (Parkwood/Columbia) is pulling in some rather powerful numbers making her the other one to watch for as we close out the year. Please don’t count Chris Brown out these days. He’s back with the track “Under The Influence” (Chris Brown Ent./RCA) which has many speculating about what he is really referring to. Gayle had teamed up with the ever so popular & Blackbear for a single that might deserve your attention. “fmk” (Arthouse/Atlantic) is the jam that I’m referring to and add this one to the mix at your own discretion. Armani White is getting quite the buzz for the single “Billie Eilish” (Legendbound/Def Jam). Armani White —

Armani White (the man who’s allowed to have bragging rights) throws his riches of rhymes in the diplomatic hip-hop scene with: comma-ranking instrumentals that have a way of interlooping air-grasping flows (that could get anyone lost in the sauce) and unapologetic notations about: growing up, keeping focus, having fun, chasing your dreams and what HE thinks about on a daily basis.

But that’s not even the most compelling part about this emcee — it’s the strength he carries through his weighed words.

By having the ability to constantly surprise your earbuds with a different topic of discussion, Armani White chomps away at pieces of your brain that were once hard to digest.

To begin, Armani White is just a snippet of his real name.

Born as Enoch-Armani White, he roamed the high volumed streets of Philly with a voice, not really knowing (at first) that his talent would manifest a grapple of listeners across the globe. “Through my sound I like to create less of a message,” Armani goes on to say “It’s more of a voice of healing that preaches many different messages”

“We need more variety, more introspective lyrics,” That’s what Armani proclaims when he’s asked about what he’d love to see change in hip-hop.

Often the radio speaks about the ordinary: money, sex, cars, b*tches but what they forget to entail is that music is all about speaking on what’s beyond the surface and he seems to agree with me.

“We need enough to where the message isn’t spoon-fed to you and you have some sort of imagination to go with the music”

On the contrary Armani White’s influence can be easily distinguished if you listen closely enough to his zip-line of flows. Armani White says “I use to try and rap really fast when i found out about the Fuschnickens. But the only rapper I really tuned into back in the day (and still do) is Eminem who is constantly feeding his fans with devouring freestyles!” with a side note: I have to stay as hungry as that.

In a whole Armani White sees himself being the next biggest thing in the world. He also will have a lifetime supply of water / ice.

Armani can’t speak much on his upcoming project but what he can leave us off with a side comment: Mr. White plans on doing a collab album and a full-blown project in the near future.

Embodying everything that is strength, pain, sincerity and drive Armani White’s sound isn’t streaming around the nation for a little while.

His placement in the rap era is for keeps!
