Am back! :D

Omg guys! Almost forgot I had this ((joking)) but nah seriously! It had been years since I've posted anything here! 💀

Anyways imma go back to my roots!! Y'all remember the days of Legend of Korra where I've only simped for Lin Beifong? 👀 But I've found a new lady, well not really but I've got a new love!!

So y'all remember (if not don't worry about it) the whole genderbent au thing I've created and it was female Tenzin and male Lin and stuff like that? Well I've got some stuff for y'all!

So first and foremost, this is Tenna. She is genderbent Tenzin (female Tenzin). She is literally so hot and I cannot stop drawing her! Currently working on the backstory and this will be nothing like tLoK, actually it will in some places but yes! A lot will be changed!

But look at her! She's gorgeous! 🥺 Also I just wanted to show y'all my improvement of art over the years! QwQ it has improved so much and I'm so proud! Anyways I'll stop rambling and let ya get to the photo!

Anyways, my thoughts are simple. Make hot women. :D I am smooth brained and frankly I've been a simp for my genderbent Tenzin for years.

I wanted to update her concept instead of the one I've created years ago (plz forget that 💀) and frankly I love this version better. She looks kind, soft, hot, and first and foremost Tenzin-ish.

What I have for her so far:

She is 51-50 just like Tenzin in tLoK

She has one confirmed boy that I've come up with and one confirmed girl.

Their names are Jin (Jinora) and Ming (Meelo). I haven't come up with anything else for the kids as of yet.

She is pansexual. No discussion on this xD

She is currently in a relationship with Peng (Pema). But ma'am is known to wander around.

Tenna is also more in tune with her nomadic life style instead of the whole business stuff.

Tenna left RC at the ripe age of 16, leaving Ling (Lin) in the process but no hate. It was a mutual break up. Ling wanted to keep RC safe and promised Tenna that everything would still be up and running whenever she wanted to settle down.

Tenna fell in love with an air acolyte (whom I haven't decided to name as of yet) and stayed there for a year before the world called for her once more. It was a short but painful romance, one that Tenna often thinks about.

Once she was back on the road she fell in love with a non bender (Not Peng yet), got pregnant and went to RC for Air Temple Island. She stayed on the island for a few years raising her newborn son Jin.

Ling helped with all he could, being there for Tenna, taking care of her and feeding her and dealing with her grumpiness. He took care of her and once the baby was born, Ling knew he would protect the child as if he were the one to help make the baby.

Tenna couldn't have thanked Ling enough and felt horrible she was "holding him back" from finding his true love. Ling wanted to confess right then and there that he loved her but knew it wasn't the right time.

During the time of the whole pregnancy and the raising of Jin, Ling and Tenna fell into a romance. Stealing kisses, sharing deep secrets, touches that crossed the very thin line of friendship.

It wasn't until Jin started talking and walking that Tenna thought it would be a great time to start exploring the world. Jin barely being the age of 3 or 4. Ling confessed to her that he loves her and that she wished she'd stay for him but told her it was a selfish request. He instead kissed her goodbye and told her to look at the Northern Lights for her on one of her trips. Tenna never felt such sadness and sorrow but she promised to keep in touch. She watched as Ling got smaller and smaller as the boat began to leave the harbor and leave behind her very best friend and lover.

The Truth of “Consequences:” A Fandom Frustration.

If you seen posts on Mabel Pines hate or for any kind of character that’s not remotely normative in society, this number goes out to you.

There's an obsession with "consequences" for fictional characters in fandom that... troubles me. Like it feels like those like, say, Mabel Antis treat each story like those PSAs about behaving in society that ask, "What would you do in this situation?" When... nobody asks that.

It feels too much like the cop in the brain dictating how they should feel. That is, the viewer knows that an authority of any kind would not be so kind to them if they did what Mabel did and as such, they find themselves appauled that the character isn't given at least a slap on the wrist.

And I don't use the term "cops" fast and loose because had Mabel been a boy, the fandom would, at the bare minimum, recognize them as a kid who was just as much as Bill's victim as anyone else. One trying this crap with genderbent Mabel would be quickly met with "Hey, take it easy. They're just a kid."

Or more accurately, "Boys will be boys."

I have made posts regarding The Legend of Korra and RWBY where it seems like a lot of elements of teen/kid heroes like lying to authority when they're unfair are suddenly bad because they don't have a dick. Face it, Ferris Bueller's Day Off would've been raked over the coals if they made Ferris a girl, black or all of the above. Yes, even in the 80s.

Much like how cops demonize black people for things white people wouldn't nearly be as harshly reprimanded, fans have this cop in their head telling them to judge characters not white or male based on our equally biased judicial system. It's subtle and insidious even among those who proclaim, "F*ck The Police" unironically.

Seriously, am I onto something or just crazy?

Princess Zeisan

"Zeisan was a princess of the Fire Nation and the sister of Fire Lord Sozin. She embraced Air Nomad philosophy and intended to swear off her earthly possessions in exchange for a life of austerity."

All interesting subjects about Fire Nation aside, I haven't seen anyone talking about Princess Zeisan. Though it's probably because only a small percent of fandom knows about her existence.

But I think we should talk about her!

1-) Her sexuality:

Zeisan was mostly likely bisexual or pansexual or perhaps polysexual considering the fact that she once had a relationship with an air nomad woman called Rioshon, as well as a man called Khandro.

And as it's revealed in the Legend of Korra comics, Fire Nation wasn't actually a homophobic society at first. Until Sozin forbade same sex relationships and considered it criminal.

And I always found it weird why would a great Fire Lord care about two girls kissing or two guys hugging... Until I found out about Zeisan.

It's revealed that the siblings never shared a strong bond, and it's easy to assume Sozin was never fond of his sister. So he probably hated every little thing about her. Must be why Zeisan's romantic interests led Sozin to forbade LGBTQ relationships.

2-) Her looks:

When I looked at her official art, I thought Zeisan lowkey looked like a combination of Azula and Sozin.

But apparently, her looks did not help her to gain her brother's love.

Though it would be interesting to see Sozin and Zeisan side by side, looking like a genderbent version of each other, but still are distant...

3-) She was probably the invisible child:

Being born a non-bender, Zeisan couldn't find her place in the Fire Nation. Because as we learned in The Search comics, having a non-bender child is considered shameful in the royal family. That was the main reason why Ozai disliked and rejected Zuko from the moment he was born. It was doubtful if Zuko was a firebender at all, and his firstborn son being a non-bender would be a great shame for a Fire Nation prince.

So we can assume this was the same case for Zeisan. Since she wasn't a great firebender like her brother, she was probably ghosted by her family. And that explains the cold relationship of her and Sozin. It makes sense that Sozin copied his father and ignored his sister. He probably looked down upon her since he was a strong firebender and most likely favored by his father. And this also explains the late blooming megalomania of Sozin since he came up with the idea of conquering the world (Eh, talk about villain cliches...)

Kinda like the relationship of Zuko and Azula. Azula was a firebending prodigy and was favored by her father, but Zuko was first mistaken as a non-bender for not having a spark in his eyes. And we know for a fact that despite being the scapegoat of his family, Zuko was also an invisible child since he was often ignored by his father.

4-) She was a pacifist:

Since she couldn't find her place in the Fire Nation, Zeisan found comfort in embracing air nomad culture. Unlike her ambitious and destructive brother, she wanted peace and life.

And this, once again, showing the contrast between the siblings.

Zeisan embraced their culture, wanted peace and life, became a pacifist; as a contrast, Sozin nearly ended their culture, wanted war and destruction, became a tyrant.

So far, these are the only things I could think about Zeisan since we have very limited information about her. And fans barely know about her existence. But I sure hope to learn more about her in the upcoming comics and series!

Also, it would be cool to see a Fire Nation spin-off. Kinda like Game of Thrones and House of The Dragon. HoTD did/doing an awesome job with portraying the Targaryen dynasty. I could totally see a similar series about Fire Nation!

So, a while back I’d seen a post about Avatar: The Last Airbender along with this quote, which is apparently an old Japanese legend. I’ve just finished ‘The Dawn of Yangchen’ and there is no way the creators of Avatar don’t also know about this legend, because by god we are six for six on known Avatars at this point.

Moving backwards from the most recent to the oldest known one, Wan excluded, we have Korra, a water bender who shares her features with Katara. Aang looks like Roku’s wife, Ta Min. Roku looks like a genderbent version of Rangi from Kiyoshi. Kiyoshi looks like Avatar Kuruk’s love, and going all the way back to The Dawn of Yangchen, we meet ‘Kiruk’, who looks pretty freaking similar to Kuruk himself!

Apparently, there’s supposed to be a second book in the Yangchen saga, and if Kiruk doesn’t become Yangchen’s love interest, then by god I will eat a shoe.

(just a heads up this is kinda scattered because we have no sense of flow and just rant down stuff)

we grew up in the midwestern united states, and from the moment we saw our first storms, we were obsessed. for the longest time, we perused meteorology, wanting to go into the field of storm chasing. unfortunately, life had other plans for us. we developed GAD (general anxiety disorder) and a panic disorder, which surrounded itself around storms. in result, we are now deathly afraid of tornadoes. this doesn’t mean our interest in meteorology changed, only storm chasing. we started learning more about storms in 2023, when we got taught about soundings, models, and cloud types, and oh how far we’ve gotten. today, meteorology isnt’ an end goal of ours, but it certainly holds a special place in our heart, with ALL of us being knowledgeable in the subject.

we do have a collection of terms that you can look at if you want to better understand.

median: a median system (also called midcontinuum) is a system where members are not as distinct or separate from each other. it can be considered being somewhere between multiple and singlet.

monoconscious: monoconscious refers to a system with only one consciousness. members do not have an individual consciousness, but instead share the collective consciousness. monoconscious systems may experience changes in fronting as a smooth transition rather than a sudden switch.

cyclotien: a cyclotien system is a system that periodically collapses into fragments, which are then shuffled and reformed into a new system. this pattern can be experienced by the entire system, certain subsystems, or individual headmates.

polyfaceted: polyfaceted is a system that has a complex structure with many layers and/or sisasystems and is primarily median. this mirrors polyfragmented, but is meant for median systems.

blurian: blurian refers to easier or complete memory sharing, having a lack of significant amnesic barriers. this term is usually paired with other terms to describe a system, and itself has no correlation to the identities within the given system.

Okay. Okay.

I truly love all these three. Xena: Warrior Princess was a breath of fresh air in my late teens, a show that was intense, silly, grim, and had a central relationship to die for (as the characters themselves did, repeatedly (they got better)). Revolutionary Girl Utena was a show that starts out as a quirky genderbent "prince"-in-school story and then turns the premise on its head so many times, and gets dark and scary while still keeping the focus on a hero who will do anything to attempt to save the one who suffers. Avatar: The Legend of Korra is such a cool sequel to The Last Airbender both with personalities, technology, and politics. It's Avatar a bit more grown up and more complex.

Xena is such a jock, albeit a broody one. She revels in her physical abilities, she's cocky when up against powerful opponents, and she can perform feats above and beyond those of the many, many warriors and warlords around her. She's a force of nature and can get a stubborn singlemindedness to go beyond all limits of her strength, like when she protects Gabrielle in One Against An Army.

She's the epitome of the cool outsider to Gabrielle who starts following her out of the sense that she is someone who can show you how to go your own way. At the same time she's desperate to change, to do good, and finds the inspiration to do that in her plucky tag-along turned sidekick turned partner. She is strong, and funny, and protective, and learns to accept herself one staggering step at a time.

Utena is the prototypical jock: good at sports (extremely good at sports, as all the school sports clubs are desperate for her to join), passionate and impossible to dissuade from her goals. She sees a girl being treated poorly and despite being thrown into the weirdest duelling game ever she chooses the path of helping that girl. But she's far from perfect, in a very jock-like manner!

She thinks that becoming the substitute to an abusive "boyfriend" is enough, that the binary makes sense as long as she can be on the other side of it, that a prince can save the princess by pure heart and drive. To be fair, that is also what everyone in her world also thinks.

But like Xena, she is capable of learning a different way, despite being the stubborn and reckless hero that I love so very much. (not mentioned here: also often accused of being dumb as a brick, but really it's more oblivious to certain things we can all be blind to and bad at reading some social cues)

Korra is a jock superstar. She's the Avatar, the most admired person in all the four nations, she's a sports star, and has never met a problem she couldn't bicep her way out of. Until she comes to Republic City and politics, adult villains, and relationships all come crashing down on her. I got very annoyed at Legend of Korra because I felt that it didn't do her character justice.

As I wrote above for Xena and Utena, a big part of them is that they learn, they change. And a lot changes for Korra during the course of the first few seasons but the large lessons generally don't stick. So she keeps being a stereotypical jock well after the world around her has changed, and that bothered me. Because she's cool, and physically accomplished, and she tries so very hard but it's never enough because the problems she faces, political, personal, and metaphysical, are such that punching them doesn't work in the long run. Yet it felt that the show creators were pushing for that to work, and thus Korra felt like she was treading water for quite a while (which she can, because she's a physical marvel).

Luckily the show faces up to that in the final season, and Korra becomes a Better Jock, and gets together with the Coolest Girlfriend. But it was a long time coming. She's so cool though!

.You can do au request of like a fandom in a fantasy world or au's with soulmates and so on.

Hello anon! It’s 2AM and I should be asleep but instead I’m going to answer this ask. Partially because I tend to be perpetually behind on messages / asks (shout out to everyone I have yet to answer, I am so sorry), both because I’m often busy and incapable of brevity. I do not want that to happen to you, so here I go!

Here are some wlw/sapphic ships I love!!

• Carol/Maria from Captain Marvel. As far as I am concerned, they are canonically wives. It’s not subtle! I wrote a meta thread about how the themes of the movie are enhanced if you read it as a story about Carol as a gay woman. Also, every time I remember that “Kiss Me Deadly” is the song they sing together in karaoke, I freak the fuck out. I firmly feel like Stevebucky and Carolmaria are the 2 greatest love stories of the MCU movies and it’s astonishing how similar they are, too. I’ll never forgive the Marvel fandom for sidelining Maria in favorite of shipping Carol/Valkyrie because of insidious colorism. I wrote a mini fic about Maria feeling insecure when Carol meets Valkyrie to work out my frustrations about that too!

• Nomi / Amanita from Sense8. (In all ways but physical, Amanita is MY wife, actually.) I feel like they’re one of the coolest, healthiest, and most badass relationships on screen :’) They make me so fucking happy and I will never get over how ride or die they are for each other.

• Andy / Quynh from The Old Guard. I am crossing ALL of my fingers that they expand on them in the sequel, because I felt there was very strong subtext (that was barely subtext) there, and as far as I know they were together in the comics. Big shout out to Andy wearing Quynh’s necklace, for example. (I’d need to rewatch the movie to get lost back in the sauce and discuss them more because it’s been awhile)

• I have ships from Black Sails that I enjoy discussing in depth, but those are spoilers! (I tend to only talk Black Sails spoilers on @freedom-in-the-dark or my side twitter gaypiracy)

• This is fairly new, but I am eyeballing Katy / Xialing from Shang-Chi. There was subtext there too, I feel. Katy definitely seemed to have a crush on Xialing, and there was tension in the moment when Xialing saved her. I’m hoping they expand on that dynamic in future movies!

• I never finished this show (even though I meant to), but Cosima / Delphine in Orphan Black were near and dear to my heart a long time ago, so I can’t not mention them. It’s been a very long time since I’ve thought about them but they were a big deal.

• In the “fuck the CW” category: YEARS ago, back when I watched Arrow, Nyssa/Sara was extremely important to me. I adored them, and then of course they killed Sara (and later forced Nyssa to fake marry Oliver). I was also into Lexa/Clarke from The 100 during that era—because who wasn’t, though I didn’t love them as a ship as strongly as many people did—and we all know where that went.

That’s it for main ones, I think. Sorry if that disappoints! I’m especially sorry that I don’t have much meta to offer, unfortunately, simply because most of what I’m mentioning is either explicit canon so it didn’t involve subtext hunting or I watched it before I got super involved in media analysis. I’m planning on watching Killing Eve when it’s complete as long as it sticks the landing, and I know that show is going to eat my brain hahaha. Some of my friends are super into it and have sent me a couple clips here and there and I’ve unintentionally written meta off the cuff and they lose their shit. I’m looking forward to devouring it eventually.

As for ones I’m just sort of casually into... I never finished Legend of Korra (not yet anyway), but I loved and appreciated Korrasami because again, who doesn’t. Similarly, I could get behind Kate Bishop / America Chavez in my Young Avengers days, and Peggy / Angie from Agent Carter. From very far away, I salute the Supergirl fandom, because I know Kara/Lena would make me foam at the mouth if I was at all into watching it and I’m rooting for those crazy kids.

Movie recs:

Portrait of a Lady On Fire (which I know most people have seen by now), though warning that it’s very bittersweet or sad. Please, PLEASE watch Colette if you have not; that movie is very important to me, and it is both sapphic and gender. Likewise, please watch Professor Marston and the Wonder Women, which is based on a true story and involves an m/f/f polyamorous relationship.

Niche fic recs because people deserve to read these:

Sharon/Natasha fic that is vastly underrated and I love it, and Eleven/Max fic from Stranger Things that lives rent free in my brain. (I think Will/Mike is endgame in that show and the parallels between Will and Eleven do make me wonder if they’ll make her gay too.) These are literally the only fics for either of these ships I have ever read. And of course, this genderbent f/f 1950s Johnlock case fic which will kick your ass. You’re welcome in advance.

Seeking femslash

I’m looking for more femslash to read, and not just as background ships. I’ve read some GoT/ASoIaF, Marvel, some genderbent normally het or slash ships, some Star Wars stuff here and there, and I’m only just now starting to watch Supergirl so I can get to what seems to be an awesome Kara/Lena ship. I’ve also been suggested Legend of Korra, maybe ATLA?

Anyone have any other suggestions for main femslash ships, whether big or small? Ship names or the show, movie, book, comic, whatever... anything and everything! I just want to explore ships that are more... me. Y’know? I don’t care about genre or anything, really. Oh, and even WLW novels and series (not just fic) would be great to get suggestions for!
